Blueberry-lemon crisp
10 to 12 servings
Ingredients
Crust
2 cups crushed gingersnaps
½ cup finely chopped pecans
⅓ cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Filling
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
½ cup orange juice
1 pint Maine wild blueberries
2 packages (8 ounces each) light cream cheese
1 container (8 ounces) low-fat blueberry yogurt
1 container (8 ounces) low-fat lemon yogurt
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Topping
1 cup whipping cream
4 to 5 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
grated lemon rind for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
To make the crust, in a medium-size bowl, combine the gingersnaps, pecans, butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar, mixing well with a fork.
Pat evenly into a 10-inch springform pan.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
To make the filling, in a small saucepan over low heat, dissolve the gelatin in the orange juice, stirring until completely dissolved. Rinse the blueberries, drain, and set aside. Reserve ½ cup for garnish.
In a medium-size bowl, blend the cream cheese, blueberry and lemon yogurts, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice. With the electric mixer running at low speed, slowly add the orange juice-gelatin mixture. Mix at medium speed for about 2 minutes. Gently fold in the blueberries by hand.
Pour into the pre-pared crust and chill for several hours until set.
To make the topping, in a small bowl, whip the cream until stiff and slowly blend in the confectioners' sugar and lemon juice.
To serve, gently run a knife around the rim of the springform pan. Remove the outside form and transfer the wisp to a serving plate.
Using a pastry bag, pipe the whipped cream around the base and top of the cake. Garnish with the reserved blueberries and grated lemon rind.

blueberry scones & lemon squares
pairing: azriel x reader
word count: 1.4k
summary: azriel spends his morning reflecting on various places he's lived throughout his lifetime. his thoughts quickly reroute back to you, his true home, and he reminisces on how you both met.
a/n: another drabble / stream of consciousness that took on a mind of its own. i really enjoy these! i only skimmed over this once, so it's lightly edited. sorry for any other mistakes i may have missed. this one made my chest hurt though - in a good way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
home.
az had resided many places during the course of his lifetime. but, as the years progressed, he'd come to realize that home was not solely determined by a physical structure with four walls - not just a place to lay his head and wings after a long, grueling day, or after returning from missions with bloodied hands and a dagger in need of sharpening. no, azriel's true home was always marked by wherever his brothers were. and now, wherever you were too.
the house of wind. another home of his.
azriel stood atop the balcony connected to his chambers. it was early dawn, the sun just beginning to rise into the morning sky. misty clouds carried on a breeze idled by, so close, az truly thought he could reach out and grab a piece of one for himself. if he squinted hard enough, really focused, he could make out the city of velaris and the sidra river, glowing like melted sapphire, far below him. could see the smoke of chimneys rising to meet the clouds as the city and its patrons began stirring for the day.
he stretched his large, membranous wings outward, letting the sunlight bathe them in warmth. his breath escaped him as visible white puffs, the autumn chill inescapable at the high altitude.
az regarded himself as a self-reflective male. his mind never stopped, and unfortunately, he was not ever able to fully escape it. this morning, he lazily cycled through thoughts regarding the places he'd called home. his early childhood, with his father and step-mother. never a home, he'd thought, leaving that memory behind as swiftly as it'd presented itself. windhaven, where he'd been dumped at eleven years old. his lips quirked up as he recounted his first memories of cassian and rhysand. the way in which they'd quickly become brothers. rhys' mother taking him in - the cabin where so many memories were made. a home.
he took flight now, shooting directly into the blazing sky. puffs of clouds caressed his arms and wings as he ascended right through them, a tickling sensation that he'd never tire of. now, he thought of you as he inhaled deep breaths of fresh, crisp morning air.
the way you both met. your father owned a bookstore right in the middle of the rainbow in velaris. an older business that was well-known and well-loved within the city. it had been destroyed during hybern's attack, and when it was rebuilt - a task that you'd had to heavily convince your aging father of - you'd added on a bakery to the renovated structure. one half was now a quaint pastry kitchen, designed with small café tables that extended onto the boardwalk overlooking the sidra, swirling gold motifs atop white marble, and glass display cases full of baked goods that you'd hand-make each morning. the other half was reminiscent of your father's original bookstore, and while he was still involved, you'd opted to largely take over the business so that he could rest and enjoy the fruits of his labor from afar. this was the first storefront of its kind in velaris, and everyone was smitten. including feyre and nesta.
feyre was absolutely infatuated with your glazed blueberry scones. on several occasions, you'd arrived at the bakery hours before opening to fulfill large-batch orders of them for various events that she'd ask you to cater throughout the city.
nesta, on the other hand, adored the attached bookstore. several times a week, she'd meander through shelves of first edition texts while feyre and rhysand browsed your daily selection of baked goods. nesta would always purchase stacks of books, as many as she could bare to hold within her arms. sometimes, if the group would opt to hang around for breakfast, you'd catch her flipping through her recent purchase, carefully cradling a scone in her other hand.
feyre had given az the task of picking up another large order from your bakery the day that you both met for the first time. azriel began to recall that day as he flew higher into the skies, his heart swelling at the memory.
"six boxes of glazed blueberry scones," his high lady had told him. "and if she has any fresh lemon squares, please pick one up for rhys. he becomes an insufferable baby whenever i return without anything for him." az had huffed out a laugh in response, nodding once to affirm he'd handle the task presented.
he made his way down the boardwalk to the front of your shop, making a mental note of how nicely the renovations had come along since that awful attack on the city. pushing the door open, a small bell tinkled above the doorway that his tall frame had to slightly crouch through. you'd appeared from the back almost immediately, flour dusted along your nose. you wiped your hands on a small towel, looking up at him to offer this beaming smile. a smile that he remembered, even now, being absolutely winded by. "hi!," you'd greeted happily. "you're here for feyre's order, right?," you'd moved towards a nicely-wrapped stack of six pastry boxes, sliding them along the counter for him to grab.
he briefly remembered reminding himself that he was meant to actually move forward. 'grab the boxes, grab the lemon square, and leave,' he thought to himself, feeling absolutely ridiculous for floundering in the presence of such a warm, pleasant female. he'd nodded towards you, approaching the counter. he'd had to tuck his wings in tight against him to comfortably fit within the spread of café tables. once reaching you, he'd cleared his throat before speaking.
"a lemon square too, please, if you have one," his voice steady despite the way his chest felt. you let out a precious, tinkling laugh. "ah, must be for the high lord. feyre's told me of his outbursts if she forgets to include them in her orders.", you shook your head affectionately, clearly quite fond of his family. he huffed out a quiet laugh, perusing over the rest of the goods within your pastry case as you packaged up rhys' lemon square.
he wasn't sure back then what compelled him to utter his next words, although now, years later, he knew. you were magnetic, and he would have done anything to see that beaming smile again and again and again. which is why he proceeded to point at the pastry case and ask for one of everything else within it.
you'd paused, eyes widening slightly at the request. "also for the high lord?," you'd breathed out, purely stunned. the corners of his lips had quirked upward then, your adorable expression hitting him right in the chest. "no, for me.", he'd stated matter-of-factly. you'd graced him then with one of those face-splitting smiles, dimples sweeping across your cheeks in its wake. he was a goner then, and he knew it.
after carefully packing up the rest of his order - which was now so large, he had no idea how he'd manage to fly back up to the house of wind cradling all of these boxes - you'd slid them across the counter to him.
he'd reached out to grab them, and that's when you took note of his beautiful, scarred hands. your gaze snagged on them, and he noticed immediately. his heart sank, a breath lodged in his throat. surely, he thought, this was the swift and brutal end to something that could have been between the both of you.
instead, you hummed quietly, unabashedly meeting his gaze. your next words came out quietly, almost a whisper - a hint of awe woven into the statement that azriel would absolutely never forget in this lifetime or the next: "you must be very brave."
no, it was then that azriel knew he was a goner. and that was it. he'd vowed at that very moment to do whatever he had to do in order to know you, love you. and you had made it so easy for him to do so.
azriel smiled at the memory, smiled at the fact that while he'd spent his morning reflecting on places that he had lived and called home throughout his lifetime, that you had flooded his mind - guided him back to all thoughts of you.
of course you had. you were his home, after all. a living, breathing representation of love so pure. he'd never once questioned it, he'd never felt something so sure. your love had healed him of so many things, things that you weren't even aware of.
and he knew, that if love were enough, all of his physical scars would be washed away too.
a/n: hi thank u for reading! honestly no idea what this is or where it came from, but i do know that i'm PMSing and writing it almost made me cry lmao. i'm such a sucker. anyway pls let me know if you enjoyed this drabble!

Writing Notes: On Food
A compilation of notes on how to describe food in writing.
How to Describe Food: Flavour & Texture
1. Write about the flavour.
Rich -> full, heavier foods. Often used to describe foods containing cream (e.g., potatoes & garlic, soup, and chocolate cake).
Bland -> has little or no flavour.
Bitter -> a tart, sharp, and sometimes harsh flavour (e.g., coffee).
Citrusy -> a bright flavour (e.g., lemons, limes, oranges, and other citrus fruits).
Fresh -> a light and crisp taste. Often used to describe produce or herbs. (e.g., apples, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, etc. Or bakery items like breads, muffins, etc.)
Fruity -> any taste reminiscent of sweet fruit flavours (e.g., grapes, blueberries, peaches, etc.).
Smoky -> a taste reminiscent of the smell of smoke (e.g., BBQ).
Sour -> a biting, tangy, tart flavour (e.g., lemons, Sour Patch Kids, and other sour candies).
Sweet -> a sugary flavour (e.g., candies, ice creams, desserts, etc.).
Zesty -> a fresh, vivid, or invigorating flavour (e.g., tacos, Italian pasta salad, etc.).
2. Write about the texture:
Mushy -> soft, but in an unpleasant way (e.g., if you cook vegetables too long, they’ll get mushy).
Tough and chewy -> are similar. Both describe foods which are difficult to eat because you have to chew them for a long time (e.g., meat can be tough or chewy, especially if it’s cooked too long and it gets dry).
Tender -> similar to ‘soft’, but it’s mostly used to describe meat which is cooked well, so it’s soft and juicy.
Crunchy -> food that makes a lot of noise when you’re eating them (e.g., dry food – like potato chips, or hard cookies – can be crunchy).
Words to Describe Different Flavours
For rich, spicy, or savoury flavours. The following words represent complex, spicy, or flavourful seasonings and dishes: buttery, caramelized, peppery, piquant, salty, sapid, saporous, savoury, smoky, and spicy.
For sweet or fresh flavours. These descriptors characterize fresh or sugary dishes: ambrosial, bittersweet, bright, fruity, honeyed, minty, nectarous, saccharine, sharp-tasting, sweet, syrupy, treacly, and zesty.
For subtle flavours. Some dishes are on the milder side. You can use one of these words to describe the taste: bland, mellow, tasteless.
For sour flavours. A sour or complex taste can be challenging to articulate. Here are some descriptive words to help: astringent, briny, citrusy, fermented, sour, tart, and vinegary.
For hard or crunchy textures. Use these words to describe a crispy or chewy texture: broiled, caramelized, crusty, flaky, leathery, sizzling, thick, thin, toasted, and toothsome.
For soft or fluid textures. These words can help you describe drinks, desserts, or other soft items: crumbly, doughy, fizzy, gooey, juicy, luscious, mashed, mushy, rubbery, runny, simmered, smothered, spongy, sticky, tender, velvety, and waxy.
For the smell of food. Here are common food adjectives you can use to describe smells: acrid, astringent, bright, citrusy, fermented, heady, honeyed, minty, nutty, peppery, pungent, rancid, rotten, smoky, sour, and vinegary.
Tips for Describing Food in Writing
Be specific. There are a lot of food words that are vague or general, like “delicious,” “yummy,” “succulent,” “delectable,” “mouth-watering,” or “finger-licking.” Avoid these overused phrases. Focus on the food's particular flavour, texture, or smell to make your writing more evocative and precise. Rather than describing a soup as “tasty” or “scrumptious,” try more specific words like “buttery,” “chunky,” or “minty.”
Consider your purpose. Decide if your goal is to explain a culinary experience or make the food sound appetizing. A clear understanding of your intention and target audience can help you shape your writing to be the most compelling.
Evoke all the senses. While you lean heavily on taste to describe food, remember to explore the texture, smell, sight, and sound of a dining experience as well. Including sensory language that incorporates the other senses creates a more robust experience for readers.
Sometimes less is more. Food writing is most effective when it’s focused, allowing readers to zero in on the essential details of the dish. If you include too many descriptors or attach multiple adjectives to each noun, you can overwhelm or confuse readers.

Summer vacation 2024, Nockamixon State Park, part 2!
After the Ringing Rocks, we went on a hike! It was supposed to be a very short hike to the biggest waterfall in Bucks County; however, we took a wrong turn onto the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail, a 300-mile trail that winds through 13 counties! Fortunately, we'd only gone about a mile before we figured out that Something had gone Wrong. Once we backtracked to where we'd taken the wrong turn, it was about 15 or 20 minutes to the waterfall:
Tumblr media
Turns out it is what is known as a seasonal waterfall; it's pretty good in winter and spring, but dries up in summer--and it's been hot and dry, so it was ahead of schedule on the drying-up.
If you can't spot the water, it's a little easier to see in this tiny video:
Here is a picture from a tourism website showing the waterfall at its most dramatic:
Tumblr media
I was convinced for about 10 minutes that we had gotten lost again, but once I accepted that this was the real waterfall, it was actually kind of cool, because you can walk out onto the ledges where the water normally, you know, falls:
Tumblr media
The streambed here is much wider than even the highest-flow pictures I've been able to find, so I guess it was bigger at some point, perhaps in the distant past.
Sophie enjoyed lying in the damp spot created by the trickle of water:
Tumblr media
Those of us with two legs sat and dangled them over the edge of the waterfall:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some other people over where we were in the earlier pictures:
Tumblr media
After the hike, we went back to the car and ate our packed lunches, then proceeded to Owowcow Creamery for ice cream:
Tumblr media
If you're ever in the Bucks County area, this place is a must! (They have five locations in the Philadelphia-Allentown-Trenton region.) It's all house-made ice cream, with a rotating selection of unique flavors (plus a few classics). I got the flight, which is 5 mini-scoops, so it's a great way to try some of the unusual flavors without committing your whole ice-cream experience to something you might not like. I picked Drunken Pineapple, Cinnamon Bourbon, Honey Lavender, Blueberry Cobbler (with local blueberries) and Blueberry Lemon. They were all fantastic; my favorite was the pineapple, and I also really liked the honey lavender. (I was a little unsure about that one, because I've had some lavender food items that were just overpoweringly lavender, like grandma's soap, but this was just the right amount.) Chloe went with a classic mint chocolate chip, and Sophie had their pup cup, which they make specially with pumpkin and oat milk.
Chloe had to leave on Sunday, but we got in some wading, and a craft, which was Sun Prints! These are apparently pretty popular with little kids, but neither of us had done them before. You buy this special blue paper, and then set it out in the sun with leaves or whatnot on, and in a few minutes the sun bleaches the paper, except under your leaves. Then you rinse the paper in water, and it turns blue again, except for where your leaves were. It's neat! We started doing them when it was cloudy, and then the sun came out and a lot of them ended up overexposed, but here are a couple of good ones:
Tumblr media
This was one of the first ones, and it came out really crisp and nice!
Here I tried to get representational:
Tumblr media
No pictures of the wading, but we picked a couple of water lillies:
Tumblr media
(The park website explains that there are so many of them that they have to go in and clear them out on a regular basis, so we figured it was OK to pick them.)
That's it for this installment, but next: aquatic adventures!

25 Things That Surprised Me as a Brit Living in Japan
1) Shops and supermarkets change their stock regularly. One day you buy ice cream, and when you go back three days later to get some more, it’s gone and there’s no evidence they ever sold it. No “sorry this is sold out”, no empty space where it was.
2) So much single-use plastic. Cookies, cakes, fruits and vegetables etc are individually wrapped, or wrapped in packs of two. To be fair though, Japan is much better at recycling all this plastic. Which leads me nicely on to...
3) PET bottles go in one recycling bin, the plastic labels and bottle tops go in a different one. You can’t just put them in together.
4) Multipack crisps are not a thing. Or if they are, I’m yet to find them. I’m used to getting 24-bag multipacks and adding crisps to my lunchbox, taking them with me in case of sudden hungries and using them to get me by between meals. Here you only really get crisps in sharing-size bags, and there’s much less variety. (Although you can buy chocolate-coated crisps, which sound like a cardinal sin but are pretty tasty)
5) There are lots of varieties of plain yoghurt. There’s not a lot of variety of flavoured yoghurt, especially when it comes to large pots. In the UK I can get strawberry, strawberry wholegrain, raspberry, blueberry, mango & passionfruit, mango & apple, mango & vanilla, vanilla, coconut, lemon curd and so much more in 500g pots. Here I’ve found vanilla, honey and blueberry in 350g pots.
6) Even in the winter when the snowstorms came, there were many non-coniferous trees that remained green. I cannot begin to explain how jarring the sight of such vibrant greenery amongst white snow is when you’re used to winter being a sea of brown and grey.
7) Cars actually stop to let you cross the road. Even if they’re turning into a side-road or at a junction, they stop for you to cross, holding up traffic. In the UK, you would annoy a lot of drivers if you started crossing a junction they were turning into.
8) Squat toilets. They’re not just a thing; they’re a commonplace thing and almost every public toilet seems to have at least one. I’ve never seen anyone opt to use one (apparently it’s easier for pregnant women though)
9) When the emergency services are called, they really show up. My neighbour left her keys in her door, someone called the police, two of them waited for her to return home. That same neighbour accidentally used a dish that wasn’t heat-resistant in the microwave and while there was no fire, there was a bit of smoke. Three fire trucks showed up, as well as police. Not a chance anything like that would happen in the UK.
10) You’re not supposed to thank the cashier after buying something; you’re supposed to just bow and leave. I cannot do this; I am culturally conditioned to thank cashiers and find myself doing it anyway.
11) 99% of (non-sliding) doors open outwards. In the UK, the opposite is true. I assume this is because, in the event of an earthquake causing structural damage, it’s much easier to barge your way out of a door when it opens outwards. In the UK, we’re more worried about people breaking in, and so doors open inwards such that we can barricade them (or so I’m told).
12) There are differences between some fruits and vegetables here. Cucumbers are tiny green wrinkled things that look like alien fingers. Radishes are enormous white monstrosities. Spinach is rarely baby leaf. Pumpkins are green. Sweet potatoes are white inside.
13) There’s not much in the way of caramel or salted caramel, but strawberry-flavoured things (especially chocolate) is very common (as is macha flavour). Things that are caramel flavour are more like burnt toffee flavour.
14) People wear coats when it’s 25ºC outside because apparently that’s not warm for them.
15) Convenience stores have printers that you’re welcome to use any time. You have to pay, of course, but for A4 paper it’s 10 yen per black and white page or 50 yen per coloured page, which is basically nothing. You can also print out things on A3, B4 and B5 paper, as well as photographs and postcards.
16) The stairwell for blocks of flats is typically outside, and then you walk along a walkway outside to get to the door. You don’t typically go into a block of flats. The opposite is true in the UK: you have to go into the building (which is typically locked, so you have to buzz the flat of the person you’re visiting and they’ll open it electronically for you from their flat) and then go up the stairs inside.
17) Bread is not sold with the end slices. It’s also usually sold in loaves of 6-8 slices, all of which are thick-cut and much sweeter than English bread. Typically only white bread is available.
18) Vending machines crop up everywhere in the seemingly most random places. I stg if Erebor were in Japan in the years of Smaug, it would have a well-stocked and fully functioning vending machine.
19) There’s no such thing as pepsi max, although there is pepsi zero. Typically you can’t get pepsi zero from the convenience store (although you can get coke zero) and have to go to the supermarket, but it costs like half the price of coke zero if you can be bothered to make the journey.
20) There are cars/vans with megaphones that just drive around advertising things. One time one passed us by and I asked my friend what the deal was and he said “oh, it’s advertising gas”. They’re also used in election campaigns. I’m still confused by these things.
21) Exposing your bare shoulders is a no-no. Even when it’s 35ºC with 90% humidity, people wear tops with sleeves that cover their shoulders (some even wear long sleeves to stop them from getting a tan). It’s okay if you’re going out on the town, but not as everyday wear.
22) “Milk” and “butter” are flavours. Personally, I think it’s redundant to describe cream as “milk-flavoured” or cake as “butter flavoured”, but it would seem Japanese people disagree.
23) Cash is still used everywhere. I pay my bills at the convenience store in cash.
24) Prices of produce are REALLY volatile. One day you pay 88 yen for a tomato. The next day that same tomato - now slightly mankier thanks to being a day older - is 198 yen. Two days later tomatoes are 98 yen. The next week they’re 128 yen.
25) Shoes off! In the classroom, at the doctor’s, at the office etc, shoes come off at the door and you change into provided slippers. This is now so deeply ingrained in me that I feel uncomfortable when my UK friends send me pictures/videos and they’re wearing shoes inside.

For @nostalgiamonth's "Food" prompt. The classic Jell-O recipe book, first published in 1962 by the General Foods Corporation as far as I could find. There's no date inside my copy of it.
Powdered Jell-O gelatin was first introduced in America in 1897, as a way to make gelatin-based dishes quicker and easier to make. It's popularity soared in the 1930s with the advent of electric refrigeration, with sales peaking in 1968, after which they began a slow decline over the next two decades. As more and more women entered the work force, they didn't have time or energy to craft elegantly molded desserts and salads to show off their creativity in the kitchen, at least not on any kind of a regular basis. By the late '80s, with sales having decreased by 50% since their peak, the brand changed to marketing their product as a kid's snack, and selling it pre-made in plastic cups. I can't imagine anything more boring, so let's return to the sixties, when Jell-O briefly offered such flavours as celery, Italian Salad, Mixed Vegetables, and Seasoned Tomato to use as bases for their salad recipes. None of them lasted long, however although personally if I wanted to encase cole slaw or potato salad ingredients in Jell-O, the Italian Salad or Celery flavours sound much more appealing than adding them to a fruit flavour. So get ready to add some veggies to fruit gelatin! Mm, doesn't this Vegetable Trio Loaf look delicious?
Tumblr media
You could also try the Barbecue Salad, which doesn't actually feature any barbeque sauce in the basic recipe, but which does offer suggestions for extra flavour!
Ingredients: 1 package Lemon or Orange Jell-O 3 Oz 1 1/4 cups hot water 1 8 oz. can of tomato sauce 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar 1/2 teaspoon salt Dash of pepper Directions Dissolve Jell-O in hot water. Add tomato sauce and other ingredients. Blend. Pour into individual molds. Chill until firm. Place on crisp greens with mayonnaise. For extra spiciness, add any of the following before chilling: onion juice, seasoning or celery salt, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco sauce or horseradish.
If you are having Uncertain Thoughts about the edibility of this recipe, don't worry! You can simply watch this brave soul who made and taste-tested a bunch of vintage Jell-O recipes in her New Joy of Jell-O Project. (Fascinating viewing, and while I'm not going to spoiler you, I will say that not all of the recipes got a complete thumbs down, some much to her surprise.)
youtube
Or there's Chicken Mousse, if you need something to serve up at your next Sunday luncheon if you want the guests never to come back.
Last, if you by now are desperate to cleanse your palette with a more fruit-based dessert dish, I offer the Avocado Strawberry Ring, since avocados seems to be a big thing right now. I'm not a fan myself, but if you like them, this recipe got a passing grade, and since the strawberries are only a garnish for the center of the ring, you can substitute any other fresh fruit of your preference. I'd think a smaller berry like blueberries or blackberries would like nice, myself. Or cherries.
And if anyone grew up on any fancy Jell-O recipes, I'd love to hear about them -- both the good and the bad.

How i would serve my f/os if they were desserts (I've been too normal lately so you must suffer with me)
Shion - with raspberry jam (with seeds) and perhaps a little lemon curd
Akito - coated in powdered sugar like a fairground funnel cake (to contrast the bitterness)
Uramichi - served in a syrup flavored like a fruity liquor...sprig of mint to garnish
Kakashi - topped with caramelized sugar like a Creme Brule
Rumi - served like a carrot cake with cream cheese icing
Choso - rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar before being baked...perhaps served with some apples...
Mitsuya - lathered in strawberry jam, coated in a crisp layer of dark chocolate
Nakime - coated in ruby chocolate with accents of blueberry to garnish
Nanami - baked, with pecans and brown sugar, like a rich pecan pie
Giyuu - with refreshing mint cream and chocolate shavings
Douma - soaked in blood orange syrup, displayed on the plate with an artistic blood splatter
Satoru - liquefied and used as a snow cone syrup
Shigure - melted like a marshmallow into spicy hot chocolate

If Mc had a orchard, what baked treat would the yanderes want if they had a choice of fruit?
Hello! Thank you for sending in an ask! This one is so cute!
Apollo would probably want some lemon bars! He loves anything sour and sweet that will make his face scrunch up! He also loves oranges so anything that had an orange flavor he would jam with as well!
Soren's all about the sweetness. If he had his way, his cake would be over-the-top indulgent, with layers of icing on the inside, a thick coat of icing covering the outside, and a generous scattering of sprinkles to top it all off. The flavor would probably be raspberry, adding a fruity, slightly tart twist to balance all that sugary goodness. On the other hand he hates chocolate.
Nox has a taste for richer, more indulgent desserts. Dark chocolate brownies or a hearty blueberry cobbler would appeal to him, providing a depth of flavor that matches his protective nature. While he doesn’t indulge in sweets often, he’s open to enjoying whatever you prepare for him. He hates anything super sweet.
Lynx's taste would probably lean towards something classic yet satisfying, like a cinnamon apple pie. The warm, spicy notes of cinnamon combined with the sweet, comforting flavors of baked apples seem fitting for his complex personality. It’s a dessert that balances familiarity with a hint of indulgence, much like Lynx himself—arrogant yet deeply attached, with a flavor that’s both comforting and a bit commanding.
Xenos's taste leans towards the darker, more intense flavors of berries. A dessert featuring blackberries or cherries would be right up his alley—something with a bit of tartness and depth that matches his mysterious and obsessive nature. Imagine a blackberry tart with a rich, buttery crust or a cherry clafoutis with its sweet, custardy interior.
Kaine’s taste would likely gravitate towards peach desserts, which offer a blend of sweet and slightly tangy flavors that match his flirtatious and playful personality. He might enjoy a juicy peach cobbler with a crisp, buttery topping, or a refreshing peach sorbet that highlights the fruit’s natural sweetness. Peach desserts carry a certain lightness and vibrancy, aligning with Kaine’s confidence and his love for eliciting reactions.
