As the lush moon of Pandora, with its vibrant flora and towering Hometrees, neared the onset of mating season, the air seemed to shimmer with an undercurrent of change. The Na'vi people of the Omaticaya clan, nestled among the swaying vines and bioluminescent wonders of the forest, could sense the subtle shift in the environment.
Among them, Tsu'tey, a skilled warrior and future leader, felt the pull of the season deep within him. As the son of the clan's chief, his responsibilities were great, but his heart longed for something more - a connection that went beyond tradition and expectations.
One day, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the land bathed in the soft glow of Pandora's night, Tsu'tey found himself in a remote clearing, his thoughts wandering as the whispers of mating season seemed to surround him.
It was then that a figure emerged from the shadows, her presence like a breeze that stirred the leaves. (Y/N), a mixture of Na'vi and Sky People lineage, carried a beauty that was both ethereal and unique. Her features held the traces of her heritage, a blend of Pandora's native inhabitants and the visitors from a distant world.
Tsu'tey's gaze met (Y/N)'s, his eyes alight with curiosity and intrigue. He had known her since her arrival on Pandora, and over time, their interactions had grown from occasional exchanges to something deeper, an unspoken connection that defied the boundaries of their backgrounds.
"May I join you, Tsu'tey?" (Y/N)'s voice was soft, her eyes meeting his with a gentle smile.
Tsu'tey nodded, gesturing for her to take a seat beside him on the grass. "Of course, (Y/N). The night is peaceful, and it seems to have its own stories to tell."
As they sat in companionable silence, the chorus of Pandora's nocturnal creatures filled the air, a symphony of life that seemed to echo their own thoughts. Tsu'tey's gaze remained fixed on the distant horizon, his voice thoughtful.
"Mating season approaches, (Y/N). The forest is alive with anticipation, and even the most hardened warriors find themselves influenced by its call."
(Y/N) shifted slightly, her expression pensive. "It's a time of change and connection, isn't it? The bonds formed during mating season are meant to last a lifetime."
Tsu'tey's gaze drifted to (Y/N), and he found himself captivated by her words. "Indeed. Yet, I've always wondered if there's room for connections that don't follow the usual paths."
(Y/N) met his gaze, her eyes searching his for a moment before she spoke with a hint of vulnerability. "Sometimes, the heart seeks what it seeks, regardless of tradition or expectations."
Tsu'tey's heart seemed to beat in time with the rhythm of the forest, his feelings for (Y/N) growing stronger with each passing moment. There was a shared understanding between them, a bond that went beyond words.
As the night wore on, (Y/N) and Tsu'tey found themselves lost in conversation, sharing stories of their worlds, their dreams, and their hopes. The more they talked, the more the lines between their differences seemed to blur, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and companionship.
Tsu'tey's voice held a warmth that mirrored the feelings in his heart. "You are unlike anyone I have ever met, (Y/N). Your origins are unique, but it is your spirit that sets you apart."
(Y/N) smiled, a soft glow in her eyes. "And you, Tsu'tey, are a warrior with a heart that is open to the possibilities that the universe presents."
As the moon hung low in the sky, casting its silver glow over the land, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) shared a moment that seemed to transcend time itself. In a world that celebrated tradition and connection, their bond was a testament to the universality of the heart's desires.
As the first tendrils of mating season's energy enveloped them, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) felt the pulse of change and possibility in the air. The forest whispered its secrets, and amidst the symphony of life, two souls found themselves drawn together by a connection that was as unique and powerful as the world they inhabited.
And so, as the night deepened and the stars danced above, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) embarked on a journey that would challenge conventions, test their hearts, and lead them down a path that would forever change their destinies on the enchanting moon of Pandora.
Over the following days, Tsu'tey and (Y/N)'s connection deepened, each interaction bringing them closer together. They shared moments of laughter and quiet contemplation, discovering common interests and embracing the differences that made them unique.
As the Omaticaya clan prepared for the impending mating season ceremonies, Tsu'tey found himself torn between his responsibilities to his people and the growing feelings he had for (Y/N). He watched her from a distance as she interacted with the other clan members, her presence a reminder of the possibilities that existed beyond tradition.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the colors of Pandora's sky painted a breathtaking canvas, Tsu'tey sought (Y/N) out by the Hometree. The glow of the bioluminescent plants created an ethereal backdrop for their conversation.
"(Y/N)," he began, his voice carrying a blend of vulnerability and determination, "these are times of great importance to our people. Mating season is a celebration of unity and bonds that sustain us. Yet, I find myself drawn to a connection that defies tradition."
(Y/N)'s gaze met his, her expression a mix of understanding and empathy. "Tsu'tey, I sense the conflict within you. But remember, the heart's desires are a part of the cycle of life too. They shape our experiences and guide us toward our true paths."
Tsu'tey nodded, his eyes reflecting the tumultuous emotions within him. "You speak wisdom, (Y/N). But our world is one of customs and responsibilities."
(Y/N) stepped closer to him, her voice gentle. "And sometimes, breaking away from those customs can lead to new beginnings. Our hearts know what they seek, even if it challenges tradition."
Tsu'tey's hand brushed against (Y/N)'s, a touch that spoke of unspoken promises and shared dreams. "You have a way of making me see beyond what I've always known."
(Y/N) smiled, her touch lingering on his. "Pandora is a world of wonders and possibilities. And our connection is a testament to the magic that can be found in the unexpected."
As the days passed and the mating season ceremonies approached, Tsu'tey found himself torn between the path he had always known and the one that beckoned him with (Y/N). The moment of decision drew closer, and the weight of his choice seemed to rest heavily upon his shoulders.
The night of the first mating dance arrived, the forest alive with the sounds of music and celebration. Tsu'tey stood among his people, his heart a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. As he watched the dancers, his gaze sought out (Y/N), who stood at the edge of the clearing, her eyes meeting his with a reassuring smile.
With each beat of the drum, Tsu'tey's heart resonated with the rhythm of change. As the energy of the mating season pulsed through the air, he stepped forward, the eyes of the clan upon him.
And then, in a bold move that defied tradition, he extended his hand to (Y/N), his eyes never leaving hers. With a mixture of surprise and hope, (Y/N) accepted his hand, and they began to move together, their dance a reflection of their shared connection.
The clan watched in astonishment as Tsu'tey and (Y/N) danced, their steps echoing a union that transcended convention. The forest seemed to hold its breath, as if acknowledging the birth of something extraordinary.
As the dance reached its crescendo, Tsu'tey held (Y/N) close, his heart pounding in rhythm with hers. In that moment, under the watchful eyes of the Omaticaya clan and the moonlit embrace of Pandora, Tsu'tey chose a path that led him to his heart's desire.
The mating season's energy swirled around them, and as the final note of the music faded into the night, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) found themselves surrounded by a sea of approving smiles and knowing nods. Tradition had been challenged, and in its place, a new chapter had begun.
As the celebrations continued, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) stood together, hand in hand, their connection a testament to the power of love that transcended boundaries. The whispers of Pandora's mating season had brought them together, and in the heart of the vibrant forest, they embarked on a journey that celebrated unity, destiny, and the bonds that truly sustained their world.
Months had passed since Tsu'tey and (Y/N) had defied tradition during Pandora's mating season, forging a bond that transcended the expectations of their people. As their connection grew stronger, so did their love for each other.
One morning, as the sun's gentle rays filtered through the lush canopy of the forest, (Y/N) woke with a sense of unease. Nausea washed over her, and her energy seemed depleted. Tsu'tey, who had become attuned to every nuance of her well-being, noticed her discomfort immediately.
He was by her side in an instant, concern etched into his features. "Are you feeling alright, my love?"
(Y/N) managed a weak smile, though her voice was laced with exhaustion. "I don't know, Tsu'tey. I just feel... off."
Tsu'tey's hand brushed against her forehead, his touch gentle and reassuring. "Perhaps a visit to the healers would provide some insight. You have always had a strong connection with the energies of Pandora. They may offer guidance."
(Y/N) nodded, allowing Tsu'tey to help her to her feet. Together, they made their way to the healer's hut, where a wise Na'vi woman awaited them.
The healer's gaze held a knowing glint as she examined (Y/N). After a few moments of silence, she smiled warmly. "You are not sick, my child. Rather, a different kind of energy courses through you."
Tsu'tey exchanged a puzzled glance with (Y/N), uncertainty evident in his eyes. "Different energy?"
The healer's smile widened, and she placed a gentle hand on (Y/N)'s abdomen. "You are carrying a new life within you. A new member of your family is on the way."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened, a mixture of disbelief and joy flooding her heart. She turned to Tsu'tey, her voice trembling with emotion. "Tsu'tey, did you hear that?"
Tsu'tey's gaze met (Y/N)'s, and a brilliant smile spread across his face. "We are to be parents, (Y/N). Our family grows."
Tears of happiness welled up in (Y/N)'s eyes as she embraced Tsu'tey tightly. "This is beyond anything I could have imagined. A new life, a new beginning."
Tsu'tey's touch was tender as he wiped away her tears. "We will welcome this new life with open hearts, just as we did with our bond."
As the healer provided guidance and advice for (Y/N)'s well-being, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) left the hut, their hearts full of hope and excitement. The forest seemed to embrace them, its vibrant colors reflecting the joy that radiated from within.
Tsu'tey's gaze held a mixture of reverence and awe as he looked at (Y/N). "Our ancestors watch over us, (Y/N). Our bond and our growing family are a testament to the unity of our people."
(Y/N) nodded, her hand resting on her abdomen where a new life was beginning to take shape. "And this new life will carry the spirit of Pandora within them, just as we do."
With a shared understanding of the journey ahead, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) walked hand in hand through the forest, their hearts united by a love that had defied tradition and embraced the boundless possibilities of their world. As they looked toward the future, a sense of purpose and anticipation filled their souls, for the journey of parenthood awaited them, and with it, the promise of new adventures and unbreakable bonds.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) awaited the arrival of their new family member with a sense of anticipation and joy. The forest seemed to hum with the promise of new life, and the Omaticaya clan shared in their excitement, offering well-wishes and support.
(Y/N)'s connection with Pandora seemed to deepen as her pregnancy progressed, the vibrant energy of the moon intertwining with the life growing within her. Tsu'tey stood by her side every step of the way, his dedication unwavering.
One day, as the sun painted the sky with hues of pink and gold, (Y/N) felt the first signs of labor. Tsu'tey's presence was a steadying force, his hand clasped tightly in hers as they made their way to the healer's hut.
The healer's eyes held a knowing warmth as she prepared to assist (Y/N) through the birthing process. Tsu'tey's presence was a comforting presence by (Y/N)'s side, his voice a soothing presence as he whispered words of encouragement.
Hours passed, each moment a testament to the strength and resilience of (Y/N) and the bond she shared with Tsu'tey. And finally, as the moon hung high in the sky and the forest seemed to hold its breath, a cry filled the air, signaling the arrival of a new life.
Tears of joy welled up in (Y/N)'s eyes as she held her newborn in her arms, her heart overflowing with love and wonder. Tsu'tey's gaze was fixed on the tiny bundle, his expression a mixture of awe and adoration.
"She's beautiful, (Y/N)," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
(Y/N) smiled through tears as she looked at their daughter, a perfect blend of their worlds. "Yes, she is. Our little miracle."
Tsu'tey gently touched the baby's cheek, his touch tender and full of wonder. "She carries the spirit of both Pandora and the sky people within her."
The healer, who had been quietly observing, approached with a knowing smile. "A child born of two worlds. It is a testament to the unity that can be found in the most unexpected places."
As Tsu'tey and (Y/N) held their daughter close, a sense of completeness settled over them. Their journey, from defying tradition to embracing a love that transcended boundaries, had led them to this moment of pure joy.
With their newborn daughter nestled in their arms, Tsu'tey and (Y/N) returned to their home within the Hometree. The forest seemed to celebrate their new beginning, its colors and sounds reflecting the vibrant energy of a world that had witnessed the creation of a family.
In the days that followed, the Omaticaya clan embraced the arrival of their newest member, celebrating the unity that had brought her into the world. The blend of Na'vi and human features that adorned her face were a symbol of the connection that Tsu'tey and (Y/N) had forged, and the promise of a future where differences were celebrated and love knew no boundaries.
And so, under the watchful gaze of Pandora's moons and the swaying branches of the Hometree, Tsu'tey, (Y/N), and their daughter began a new chapter in their lives. A chapter filled with unity, love, and the beauty that came from embracing the tapestry of their unique backgrounds.

Fav batfam ships?
See, making that plural was a mistake, dear Anon, because now I have an excuse to list one for every member I care about and also explain myself--
In no particular order:
Bruce and Talia: Partially because I am god's strongest (and most delusional) soldier and can ignore anything racist and OOC in all of her depictions over the last 20 years. I honestly think it's hilarious how disgustingly horny they are for each other and how absolutely stupid they get when left alone together. 10/10 so funny I could die, let them be dumb together as a treat.
Dick and Koriand'r: Listen. It's basic. They have problems, they've always had problems, but when the story and editorial direction allows for it they make each other so happy. Two traumatized kids from across the stars that find a moment of safety with each other? I am a simple man, it compels me.
Kate and Renee: I'm a sucker for disaster lesbians. I am. They are the avatars of lesbian disaterism and honestly good for them, keep making Aphrodite wildly upset with how hard you both can fumble a baddie, laddies.
Stephanie and Cassandra: It's popular for a reason! They are so wildly different while being weirdly similar! They care about each other in ways that are so genuine and raw, but aren't always helpful to the other party! Visually they look like a classic emo/sunshine ship, but if you investigate even a little bit it's quickly obvious that their dynamic is much weirder and more interesting. See also: the above disaster lesbians (wlw specifically here but the sentiment stands) thing.
Barbara and...Kara(?): ...This is my badly substantiated rarepair that also relies on a reality where Kara wasn't aged down. I just...it is one of the two variations of Superbat that compels me, and it purely comes down to the intensity of their personalities, the emotional weight they both carry, their intense understanding of loss and duty, and the fact that as Oracle and Supergirl they manage to have similarly heavy responsibilities on their shoulders.
Damian and Jon: The other variation of Superbat that compels me. Look. They've never got to have any consistent, wholesome, appropriate or healthy close relationships with any other viable options first off, so this isn't hard. Second, their arcs are literally designed to compliment each other, and the groundwork for that was laid out for sooo many issues. It's the opposite of Babs and Kara where there is actually so much content to be compelled by that it circles back to being painful again. Now, to be clear, I have no interest in anything happening with them unless and until they are allowed to be adults, mostly because I think those character arcs need come to completion before anything more than being best buds happens. Also, as god's strongest (and most delusional) soldier, the volcano didn't happen, Jon is going age normally and get to go to high school, they're going to fix it okay, there's a space whale--
Tim and Jason are in a weird "Y shaped" poly situation with a hairy bear named "Intensive Mental Health Care": No I will not be elaborating further.
Duke and ???: I love Duke. I have not been compelled by a ship for him yet. I know Tom King tried to make him and Gotham Girl a thing but...who wants that? I even like Gotham Girl enough to write for her, but WHO WANTS THAT!?
Anyone else I really haven't thought enough about to include...however....
HONORABLE MENTIONS THAT I DON'T WANT BUT SOMEHOW COMPEL ME:
Bruce and Minhkhoa: So funny, almost a parody of Bruce in a MLM ship, painfully comedic, Khoa is a disaster of a man and the most down bad creature on earth, beating even Talia on the obsession angle. Never let them prosper, never let them get it together, let me feast on this crack made canon.
Bruce and Selina: I DO like me some batcat, but I'm really more interested in Selina getting to be her own thing nowadays. Escape the bat-love interest curse girl, maybe go kiss an amazon or something.
Kon and Cassandra: Don't want this, but I am truly taken by the fact that was even a thing that was considered for 30 seconds. Insane. Insane pairing. Batshit. Kind of endearing? But please never again.
Barbara and Dinah: Listen 90's BoP (and often after too) was full of so much sexual tension between these two that it was almost suffocating. The one-night stand that they both fondly think about later, but told no one about? It needed to happen, but that's the end of it for me.

WRITERS NOTE: THIS IS NOW PART 2 OF MY RAMBLINGS OF KATAMARI ONLINE, ENJOY
Alright, So, remember I’d mentioned the dating feature in this game? Yeah, there's a dating feature. Now, you might be wondering why that is? Well… I'm not sure myself, but I do know that due to the female player-base of the game, they had decided to add a dating feature so that way couples can be “boyfriend” and “girlfriend.” That's cute and all, however, ,it's only for hetero couples and not same-sex couples. So if you wanted to have a same-sex couple in your Katamari MMO, yeeaah…sorry they don't do that. Which, again, is rather odd since the player base was majorly female.
Oh yea, and speaking of players, let's talk about the cosmics and Cousins! Okay, so before I share my disappointment about the avatar features, I just wanna say something about all of the new cousins and cosmics and their designs: Honestly, I really like them a lot! I think most of you have already seen Mint and Melo, But i think my biggest surprise was Burda. Now I’m gonna tell you why Burda is so special, like no joke: Burda's the only black cosmic person here! I’m not kidding! Like, it really shocked me when I had first heard about her awhile back since Korea and Japan have a habit of not showing decent black representation, let alone having characters with darker skin without being racially insensitive.
(Korea, Japan, and most South Asian culture have an obsession with skin bleaching) I know in most media nowadays, things have gotten better. But for its time, having Burda as a black girl in a South Korean MMO Katamari game is really something. I'll probably talk about Burda in another post because this one's long enough. Okay, so, yeah I love these newbies and all their quirks but what made me feel disappointed about this MMO? Well, there's a lack of customization features.!Yes, I know you can give them little hats and whatnot, but that's not what I’m talking about. Like—Don't get me wrong, all of the Cousins and cosmics—both new and old—are neat. However, what really bugs me is how there's no option to make your own original character. Like, idk man…that's a lost opputinty here. I’m gonna use fer.al and even Roblox as examples. With Fer.al and Roblox, along with most other MMOs, the appeal is that you can make your own character and make up your own story. With Fer.al, you can make your own creature and design them the way you want. And if I'm gonna be completely honest, I feel like Katamari Damacy Online should at LEAST give you the choice to choose The Prince, any of the Cousins, or get creative with it and make your own character. Idk, I felt like they lost me on that.
Now, I’m gonna say that with some of the mapping and hub designs, I personally really like this bit of world-building. I know it's not a lot—but dang it! I’ll take what I can get! Now, for my harsh truth about my feelings on this lost media: Yeah, I can understand why I didn't care for it that much when I first found out about it. If I’m gonna be honest, I thought it would be gone forever and it didn't matter. Along with the fact that for a long time, I didn't really see it as canon, so I just didn't put much attention to it. However, after revisiting it again and really thinking about it a bit more, I felt like there was a lot of lost potential even with how questionable some of these choices were. Overall, I now have an open mind to this and I hope that this game will be found soon. Who knows, maybe one of the archivists might finally find the surviving installer and might turn it into a Katamari Damacy Online rewritten type beat! Also folks, if I missed anything or messed up, please feel free to let me know.

Neteyam x female reader! Part 3
 Bare with me, having Neteyam and Shyla be the same age creates some plot holes, and honestly there are countless others but I'm trying my best lol.
Also I'm changing my mind with how I wanted to take this fic sooo can we just pretend that Shyla is permanently in her Avatar, and that I totally didn't write the complete opposite in part 1 thanks.
I'm glad a few people are reading this. It makes me so happy! It motivated me to write so much more lol, especially since this is my first fic. Y'all know the drill, enjoy!
Part 2
Characters are 18
Word count: 1,484
Neteyam informed me that we got as far as we needed to on foot. Neteyam whistled and in a few moments an Ikran flew down from the sky. My jaw became slack, causing my mouth to hang open in awe at the creature descending in front of me. Lo’ak laughed watching me, before summoning his own Ikran.
Neteyam smiled, nodding his head toward the animal.
“Are you ready?”
I returned his smile, replying without hesitation.
“Of course,”
Neteyam mounted his Ikran, he made it look easy. It was like trying to ride a dinosaur, no one could say the Na’vi didn't have balls.
The Ikran flapped its wings, roaring as he did so. I took a concerned step back, my immediate confidence faltering. Neteyam laughed, reaching his hand out to me.
Lo’ak had already gotten on his Ikran, not waiting for us before flying off into the sky. I watched as Lo’ak flew through the sky, I looked back at Neteyam, and he nodded. I stepped forward, keeping a skeptical eye on the Ikran before taking Neteyams hand. He pulled me up onto his Ikran, sitting me in front of him.
 He connected his queues to the animals. I spent my life doing extensive research on everything there is to know about Pandora, and the creatures inhabiting it, after all it would always be my home. However, seeing the connection of the queues was something I never thought I would experience first hand, it was fascinating.
The Ikran rose without a word from Neteyam, I gasped feeling my stomach drop at the sudden elevation. Neteyam hovered his hands over my thighs, which somehow made my stomach turn more than the Ikran.
“I've got you,”
He reassured quietly, once again I was too busy focusing on not dying to comprehend how close I was to Neteyam. I turned my head slightly in his direction, his own face was over my shoulder, watching the sky in front of us. My skin flushed, I wondered if my blue skin would turn as red as my human skin tended to do. Why was I so whipped by Jake sully's son, my father would personally destroy the entire planet if he knew.
We soared through the air, my day just kept getting more and more unbelievable. I leaned against Neteyams back, needing to feel support, the rational part of my brain was telling me I would fall to my death any second.
Neteyams breath hitched as Shyla leaned her weight onto him. He gently placed his hovering hands onto her upper thighs, hoping the contact wouldn’t upset her. He looked down to her, reading her emotions the best he could. Shyla met his eyes, smiling at the boy, and that was all the conformation he needed.
Feeling more secure I took a deep breath, embracing the fact that I was flying on an Ikran on Pandora. I smiled before yelling in pure bliss,
“I'm flying!”
I shamelessly announced it to the whole planet. Neteyam laughed, holding me tighter, commanding his Ikran to suddenly dip. I screamed, this time in horror as we plummeted down. We leveled out in a matter of seconds, gracefully floated again, this time much closer to the ground.
Neteyam laughed, cackled even at my reaction. For the second time today my mouth hung open in shock, I'm surprised I didn't just piss myself. I turned as much as I could to face Neteyam.
“I cannot believe you just did that!”
His laughing slowly died down, he shook his head in an attempt to compose himself.
“Sorry, sorry, I could not resist.”
Silence settled over the both of us. I’m not sure where it came from, but a tension filled the air. I looked into Neteyam’s eyes, they were truly beautiful. I thought that he was beautiful. He stared back at me, I would give anything to know what he was thinking. Reluctantly I turned my head forward, stopping the moment, if there was one.
Neteyam almost sighed in disappointment before stopping himself. This girl who appeared in thin air, she was the most interesting person he had ever met. He never felt such a natural attraction to someone before, it couldn't have been right, but everything in his body was telling him differently.
A short flight later and I was landing in the Na’vi home, it was a cave system. There was much more technology and military equipment than I was expecting. It saddened me, I only vaguely remember seeing videos of the original Na’vi home, but it was nothing like this. And the reason for the change rested on my species shoulders.
Neteyam disconnected from his Ikran, hoping down and reaching up to help me. As soon as my feet hit the ground I looked up to see five people staring back at me. It was Lo’ak and the two young girls I first saw with Neteyams group, one was older, must have been close to my age. The other was the child that motivated me to save them to begin with. The other two were.. Jake and Neytiri.
Everyone in the vicinity was silent, I could feel the judgmental glares. I stood tall, as best as I could. Neteyam opened his mouth to explain himself, but Neytiri had already walked forward and grabbed me by the bicep, squeezing it. Out of everything I've been through today, this was the scariest.
“Mom! stop, she's hurt!”
Neytiri seemed to not even hear her son, but I assumed she just chose not to listen.
“Wait”
Jake spoke up, taking a step towards me and his wife. I swallowed, not daring to open my mouth.
“Shyla?”
Jake's question made Neytiri's ears flatten, and her grip loosen.
“Is it true?”
The woman whispered, with her proximity to me I didn't think anyone else could hear her. I nodded softly, hoping Neteyam was right.
Jake and Neyriri exchanged a look, and the woman took a step away from me, a hint of guilt flashing over her face.
Neteyam stepped closer to me, taking in a breath before explaining the situation. The five people, who I could only assume were all Sullys listened, and Jake sighed, wiping his face in frustration.
“Your mother will take her to get her arm patched up, you are talking to me.”
Jake commanded his son, and I immediately felt bad. I knew taking me here would create turmoil, I was just glad they were willing to hear us out at all.
Me and Neytiri walked in silence, and she sighed looking over to me.
“We are glad you are here Shyla.”
I looked back at her with my eyebrows raised, it took me a second to comprehend what she said.
“Thank you”
I was genuinely thankful that she said that, whether she truly meant it or not.
I was taken to their medical area, no one said anything, but I could tell they were all horrified by me. I could sympathize, I would be horrified too. But they accepted my brother, maybe they could learn to do the same with me while I was helping them.
They had just finished wrapping my arm when Neteyam came over. I thanked the women in Na’vi hoping it would seem more genuine before approaching Neteyam.
“I'm glad to see you”
I admitted it was refreshing to not feel hated by someone. Neteyam smiled at my words, looking at my bandaged arm.
“Are you alright?”
I nodded, shrugging off the question.
“It was nothing.”
He scoffed, not taking a second to protest.
“You cut three inches into your arm, and dug out a bullet sized tracker with your bare hands, that does not seem like nothing.”
I rolled my eyes, poking him in the side. He swatted my hand away and I smirked at him.
“And I would do it again before getting lectured by Jake sully the Olo'eyktan”
Neteyam rubbed the back of his neck, recalling the conversation.
“Yea you're right.”
We both laughed, and for the first time in many years I was happy.
Though I should have known it wasn't going to last long.
Neteyam pulled me away to a more private area, the look on his face made my blood run cold.
“What is it?”
My question wasn't above a whisper, maybe it was because I didn't want the answer.
“Spider-”
Neteyam started and I gasped, covering my mouth. I had forgotten about my brother, how could I? Everyone else from the forest greeted me when we arrived, but not my brother. I was too caught up in everything going on, he should have been my number one priority.
“Don't worry, he's alright it's just… he's with your father.”
My head lowered, and I cupped my face. I was relieved he was alright, but it made me sick that I was so close to being reunited with him just for us to switch sides.

USP-11: November's Custom Cards
New Post has been published on PRESS.exe: USP-11: November's Custom Cards
In a world of adventures and conspiracies, with competing factions of shape-shifting identity thieves, there is always a chance that something can go wrong, that even the best and most elaborate plan can be thrown into disarray. There is no magic you can lay out that’s so reliable it won’t have someone finding a way to pick at it, to undo it, to render all your own planning, your own strategy for nothing.
Sometimes it’s for the subtlest of reasons, the positioning of a Masqued knife in the right dinner meeting that means a careful machination simply fails to happen. Sometimes, a goon from another world can show up, and out of sheer pique, decide to punch you in the face.
Warning: Wizards employees, this post contains unsolicited designs of custom magic cards.
The theme of November is, as it was last year, NOvember. In any given set, you need a quantity of cards that constitute countermagic, protection, responses and removal, things that can infringe on an opponent’s plans both in general, and as a way of advancing their own plan. This is to make sure the game has some spirit of counterplay at work in it, and that’s why this month is where all the broad, utility countermagic, removal and otherwise ‘maybe that plan won’t work’ kind of cards gets to live.
It’s a tiny bit of a bad sign if you look at a line up of cards like that and think ‘oh gosh, some of these are so clever and cute’ and I worry that I have been too inclined to please myself. But hey, who you gunna please, otherwise?
We’re running out of room to talk about the remaining characters in the set, almost everyone on these cards has been mentioned before, and the flavour text mentions characters you know. There are three more legendary people coming up, but, spoilers, two of them can’t talk.
Cadoc, the Knight of Silence is a ghost controlling a specialised centaur-shaped husk who escaped from the Palace. I wanted to reference all the legendary creatures who could be seen as people (more or less) on the flavour text of other cards, and that’s why Cadoc is mentioned on Judge’s Herder. It’s normally easy to do that, to have a character quoted on another card, but Cadoc, uh, they’re a knight of silence? That means lore about Cadoc – like how they were a knight and rider pair, whose husks were put together for novelty’s sake – is nowhere to be found on cards.
Astar, the King’s Faceless is an agent in the pursuit of restoring the Horned King, an enemy of Gansukh directly. Their card has no room for flavour text (because it’s got Manifest on it!), but that meant to show the way they talked, the things they cared about and the rage they had to express at the unreasonable nature of an unfeelingly spitful and controlling avatar of death, had to show up on other cards.
Gan-Endel is one of Ullaine’s planeswalker victims, dragged into her confusing wake, and I like them a lot though I’m also a little unsure if she quite conveys the feeling she’s meant to. She wrecks things, steals things, recruits people, and if you don’t let her do it, she’ll punch you in the face. And yes, that use of she/they was deliberate, but good luck on my part trying to convey that flavour. I don’t know if she’s from Kaldheim or some other gaelic-themed plane.
Erhi is the other of Ullaine’s planeswalkers ensnsared in the wake of reckless love. Except Erhi is an extremely analytical, removed character, unimpressed with her surroundings and much more interested in pulling apart a single spell and understanding it perfectly than she is in understanding anything to do with the ways of wooing the paramours are trying. Don’t worry, she stays in the palace boats – they have good food and all – but mostly ignores the non-edible gifts people send her.
There are so many favourite cards here, doing things I find exciting and cute.
Oh man, I love this card. I love so much about it. I love the art I was able to find of this gleeful cackling asshole skeleton wizard. I love this useful little 1/1 menace creature, and the way the mechanics imply a spooky skeleton that wants to try and serve at the leader on the table, and the adventure where this skeleton goes out to try and weave a conspiracy against someone… and I love the mechanic of Conspire Against, where, in a multiplayer game, you need another opponent to be willing to not pay 0 mana.
An osteomancer is a wizard who can prophecy or draw magic from the power of bones, incidentally.
By comparison, Baleful Forfeiturre here is an absolute tome of text that’s designed for a very specific, challenging thing to do in as few words as possible. It’s a counterspell that deprives one player of a spell, but then in exchange, lets you and all other players copy that spell. Flash enchantments show up in this set more than a few times to represent the kinds of spells that you might see in Alchemy as instants that can maintain or memorise game information for the player.
Finally, here’s the second Totem Umbra Armor card that survived into the set. It originally had a much more rules-pushing text on it: As long as ~ is on the battlefield, it’s an aura attached to each creature you control and then with that, totem umbra armor. The purpose of it – being a pre-emptive protection to everything, that could also successfully protect multiple things if the things were destroyed simultaneously – was easily replicated without the totem umbra armor mechanic, and I guess it works out that it wasn’t nearly so complicated or likely to annoy people who talk about the rules on the subreddit.
I am also, if you’re aware, extremely resistent to what I call ‘Mel Candy.‘ Those are card designs that are interesting because that they exist at all; the first intersection of rules ideas, rather than caring about what those rules are representing or doing in a play space. You know, things like the sorcery speed counterspell or whatever. And for this one, I was very afraid I was approaching the Past King’s Masque.
This is one of the only cards that refers to the ruler of the Palace before Gansukh; the Horned King isn’t that king. The Horned King is a new god of death created from the plane itself, a vision of death as typified by the people of the outlands, that see death as a process of growth and rebirth, rather than a true tyrant like the vampire clans perceived the Palace’s purpose. But whatever the original king was, this is their last remnant, fabric from the palace that is both an idea, a gossamer immaterial that is a physical thing you can handle. Note that this equipment changes you and then dissolves, but you’re still, left behind changed.
I couldn’t think of a way to make this idea work outside of using the mechanics of a saga, with the natural procession of it, and having it be both an enchantment and an artifact. And while it feels like it’s a little unduly cute? I think this is the best execution on the idea, the notion that there are masques being worn at these balls that are made from the very material of the Palace of the Dead.
Oh and Green-Blue 5/5s for 3 Gang Rise Up.

Madre Hobuna
Being a 2000s kid that had a semi decent grasp on english and a deep need to view all things non suitable for my age demographic. I found myself sinking quickly inside all things horror or supernatural.
From small, passion driven blogspots to shock sites, my internet journey landed me in places that still carry some of my major inspirations and influences for my art.
Who doesn’t remember horribly photoshop cryptids and aliens from ye olden days? I certainly do and I strive my humanoid contraptions to resemble that uncanny, almost random aesthetic of early internets photoshop.
One of those inspirations was the legend behind the 9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9 reddit creepypasta series.
At the beginning I thought of it as a homage to the Silent Hill series, like an extreme AU of the first games from its heavy womb symbolism. The interfaces scream that is a womb-mimic like the pods avatars were stored in the J.Camerons franchise. And the titular creature, the Mother with the Horse eyes only strengthens my personal interpretation of the symbolism of this series.
A deity like being that interferes with the on goings of the world and ripping and sewing the storyline together. You can argue is a successful version of The God of Furies , a being of true neutral values and ideals who strungs the pendulum of the world on its own rythm, without being itself involved in the happenings it orchestrates.
But heres the conundrum: Horses arent ussualy a motherly symbolism. In ancient Greece and Rome horses were a symbol of power and glory: values that are ussualy given musculine character. In medieval times horses were seen as a symbol of strength and noble origins: a healthy horse was expensive both to aquire and keep.
Furthermore horses arent that good as mothers in the animal kingdom go, although thats also a human fault (this is a half assed idea but from some minor research they seem to have a semi better relationship than bovines do to their calfs).
Given these thoughts, the idea of a horse to be given the title of Madre(mother in spanish) is an oxymoron, but it also makes a lot of sense. In my view, Madre Hobuna isnt a stereotypical mother deity. She isnt a Madonna nor a Maria (orthodox name of Holy Mary). She is more of a guide than a voice of reason or comfort.
And thats why i depict her as such. I dont view her as a freudian interpretation of the mother i wished to see nor as a stand in for a feminine deity.
She is her own person and she marches alone like a abandoned war horse in the sea storm that we call life, and thats why she is in my mind so many years (her creation is roughly at 2020? )

Who Obeys Who?
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3
~F!Mc~ Word Count: 4,494
Summary: After Mc’s latest brush with death, Lucifer has placed various rules to ensure her safety. However, the independent human will soon discover that the brothers have become increasingly possessive/protective over her, to the point where she begins to feel suffocated. In the heat of the moment during a particularly bad fight, Mc uses the power of her pacts and accidentally harms the brothers in the process. Anguished over this and the brothers’ behavior, she runs away and seeks a way to break the pacts, for their sake and her own!
Warnings: Mention of death, brief violence, aggressive scenarios.
It was no secret to anyone that the 7 Lords of Devildom were fiercely protective of their little human, however this was something that Mc was still adjusting to. Back in the human world, Mc was never really the center of attention or had particularly protective family/friends, and was quite content with the sense of freedom that came with such a life.
However, as the brothers began to grow closer and closer with her, their desire to guard the new member of their family also swelled. At first, she found this behavior somewhat endearing; it warmed her heart to know that such powerful and feared demons cared so deeply for her, a mere mortal human. With this new sensation of the brothers at her side, Mc felt safe in Devildom, despite the multiple times she had almost lost her life.
That was until she had a particularly bad run in with several lower demons at RAD once a day. Mc had left her classes mid-session to use the restroom, the hallways were silent and empty as everyone was seated in their classrooms. However, when she was making her way back to class, three lower demons jumped out and began attacking her, beating her nearly unconscious.
In between the grunts and deafening blows the demons dealt her, she could hear them shouting something about how she was making the Demon Lords soft, that her presence was ruining their reputation as fearsome, cruel creatures.
However, it was over as soon as it started; the demons left her gasping alone on the cool, tiled floor. Soon after Mammon (who had been in the process of skipping class) discovered her battered body and called his brothers for help. Although Mc hadn’t sustained any serious injuries, she was quickly raced to the nearest hospital and made a swift recovery with the help of Solomon and Simeon’s healing abilities.
In the days after the incident, Mc was feeling suprisingly unscatched, both physically and mentally. Despite how worried sick the brothers were, she was simply happy that the whole ordeal was over and done with, the perpetrators promptly beaten and jailed. However, Lucifer had decided this was not good enough for Mc, or rather, him.
==================================
Mc sat nervously at the dining table in the House of Lamentation, all the chairs filled with their respective brothers. Lucifer had called a “family meeting” earlier that day during RAD classes and had stressed that everyone must be there.
At first Mc hadn’t been too worried about the sudden order, but simply watching Mammon anxiously bounce his leg from next to her with his chin resting gravely on his palm, had her suddenly reconsidering. Everyone instantly perked up as Lucifer cleared his throat from the end of the long table.
“In light of… recent events...,” he begins his gaze sweeping from brother to brother, eventually landing firmly on Mc, making her jump slightly. He pauses for a moment, huffing slightly.
“...I have decided that there is an urgent need for new rules regarding Mc, more specifically on how to ensure she remains safe in her time at Devildom,” he announces.
“What do you mean ‘new rules’,” Mc questions, eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Lucifer shoots her a quick glare after being interrupted before continuing.
“I mean that as of today, you cannot be without an escort when leaving the House of Lamentation under any circumstances-,” he says as Mc rises quickly from her chair.
“What?! I need an escort?-'' she exclaims, hands placed definitely on the table before her.
“-That includes walking to and from RAD, walking between class periods, and anywhere else outside of the House of Lamentation,” he continues, ignoring Mc’s sudden outburst.
“That ridiculous, I can handle walking myself perfectly fine-,” Mc shouts.
“You will be required to have your D.D.D on you at all times, and you are not permitted to leave the house after 8pm,” he states coldly, staring down Mc. “All of which are effective for an indefinite amount of time.”
“This isn’t necessary, Lucifer! I know what happened last week, but that doesn’t mean you can just start making me follow all these crazy restrictions!” Mc pleads, desperately looking around the table at the brothers for any semblance of support.
However, they all avoid her gaze, a few of them taking sudden interest in the intricate carvings that adorn the side of the wooden table.
“It is necessary, Mc,” Lucifer says matter-of-factly, crossing his arms. “I know that you’re a very independent person, but these rules are for your own safety.”.
“I’m sorry Lucifer, but I won’t allow myself to submit to this-,” Mc begins defiantly.
“-You will follow these rules. This is not something that is up for discussion, Mc!” he bellows, causing everyone at the table to flinch at the sudden aggression.
“And that goes for all of you,” he commands, pointing accusingly at his brothers. “You all are to make sure that she adheres to these rules, you understand?”
They all exchange quick glaces between a fuming Mc and Lucifer’s stern expression. They all nod slowly, reluctantly submitting to Lucifer’s will. Mc flops angrily into her chair, teeth clenched as she festers silently in her own wrath.
As much as she wants to, she simply can’t win against Lucifer, especially not on this one. Seeing that none of the other brothers came to her aid, she decides she has no choice but to swallow her pride. Biting her tongue, she nods slightly along with the brothers.
“Then… that is all that I need to say,” Lucifer says, his composure restored as he rises from his seat. “This meeting is adjourned.”
In the days after Lucifer's declaration, Mc begrudgingly followed each rule. Although she was still fuming, she offered no further protest on the matter, electing to just wait until Lucifer decided these restrictions were no longer necessary.
After a while, Mc began to not be particularly bothered by these rules. Although she valued her occasional moments of solitude, having the brothers escort her from place to place proved to be somewhat enjoyable. Additionally, having her D.D.D on her at all times wasn’t too much of a hassle, and it wasn’t like she had many places to be in Devildom after 8pm.
However, Mc began to feel more concerned with the brothers’ behavior as more and more questionable moments occurred between them. She first took notice of this somewhat alarming shift in behavior when Mc was conversing with a new friend from her Curses and Hexes class; another demon, obviously.
Mc was always eager to make new friends, especially since she rarely had the chance to talk to any demons outside of the seven brothers. Her and this new demon had randomly sparked up a conversation when he had asked her for a spare pencil. He had noticed it had a design on it that originated from a popular movie franchise that he was also interested in, so the duo became engrossed in discussing the topic long into the class period. Even after the bell rang, they continued absentmindedly laughing and chatting with one another.
This caused Beel, who had recently begun waiting for Mc outside of each of her classes to walk her from period to period, to peek his head in the room worriedly. The redhead immediately noticed the lower demon and how he was leaning against Mc’s desk, deep in conversation with his human. Anger quickly sparked in the pit of his abdomen, prompting him to stalk swiftly towards the duo.
He planted a solid hand on Mc’s shoulder. “The bell rang, Mc. Let’s go to your next class,” he grunts, refusing to acknowledge the surprised demon beside him.
“Oh, it's okay Beel. You can go without me, I’ll be leaving after I finish up here in a second,” Mc says cheerfully, waving Beel on without much thought.
In response, his grip tightens every-so slightly on Mc’s shoulder, digging into the fabric of her uniform. “No. I have to go with you Mc,” he says firmly.
“Beel, seriously, it’s okay,” Mc responds in a quizzical tone, eyes flickering between his face and his hand on her shoulder. “I’ll just have my friend here walk me instead. Your class is on the other side of campus anyway, so you’ll be late if you wait for me.”
“I don’t care if I’m late. I’m not going to let you be alone with some other demon, Mc,” he growls.
Both Mc and the lower demon gape at Beel, taken aback by his sudden aggression.
“Beel! Don’t be rude! You don’t need to worry about him, he’s oka-,” Mc exclaims.
“Mc. I’m not leaving you with him,” Beel repeats, this time finally eyeing the fidgeting lower demon sitting across from him. He wilts slightly from Beel’s piercing gaze, feeling as if he’s somehow made a grave mistake by simply talking to Mc. Mc shakes Beel’s hand from her shoulder, rising from her desk to confront him head on.
“Beelzebub. I’m telling you-,” Mc begins before she’s abruptly interrupted by Beel grabbing her wrist and tugging her towards the classroom’s exit. Despite her protests, he managed to make it halfway to her next period before Mc finally wrenched herself from his grip. The other demons in the hallway disperse, fleeing to their classrooms after sensing the dangerous arua the Avatar of Gluttony was emitting.
“What the hell Beel?” she pants, rubbing the angry red skin on her wrist. She eyes him, feeling increasingly uneasy; what happened back in the classroom...it was completely out of character for him. He never spoke to her, or anyone in that way, let alone put his hands on her like that.
“Lucifer said you can’t go anywhere by yourself,” he explains, placing a hand on his neck while shame begins to replace the wrath within him.
“Yeah, I wasn’t going by myself. I said that my friend was going to walk me instead,” Mc shoots back.
Beel frowns, “You can’t trust any demon you meet, Mc. You don’t know if you really would be safe with him.”
In the back of her mind, Mc knows he’s half right; she simply didn’t know that demon well enough to confidently say he wouldn’t try something the moment she was alone and vulnerable. However, she wasn’t upset that Beel questioned his integrity anymore, she was upset that he didn’t even take a moment to consider her feelings on the matter. He simply ran off with her without a second thought, completely disregarding her ability to judge a person’s character on her own without him or one of his brothers weighing in with their own cynical opinions.
They stood silently for a moment as Mc stewed in her thoughts, the hallway empty, its air turning stale around them. Before she could give a proper retort, the sound of the school’s bell rang around them, indicating that they were now both late for class. Mc clenched her firsts angrily.
She then turned sharply and stalked to her next period, allowing an uneasy Beel to accompany her from a distance. Once she entered her classroom and slammed the door behind her, Beel began the trek on his own class. When the next period ended, Mc found Belphie waiting outside to escort her in place of Beel.
Despite this concerning event, there was a brief lull in the brothers’ display of possessive behavior; whether that be because they finally realized that they were suffocating Mc with their antics, or because Mc had been more careful about complying to Lucifer’s rules.  However, this moment of peace was soon to be interrupted.
After Asmo accidentally spilled wine on Mc during a visit to Ristorante Six, he had vowed to take her shopping for a whole new outfit, even though it only really stained her blouse. When Levi caught wind of the excursion, he decided to tag along to go window shopping for some newly released Ruri-chan merchandise.
That weekend, the trio made their way to the bustling shopping center at the heart of Devildom; the majority of the day was very lighthearted and served as a much needed break from school and the crushing protectiveness of the brothers. They all spent hours browsing and trying on clothes in Majolish, laughing as Asmo forced Levi to briefly explore his fashion sense with them. After they finally left, Mc and Asmo struggled to carry the various bags filled to the brim with clothes and accessories while Levi happily snapped pictures of the exasperated pair, offering no help as he uploaded the photos to Devilgram.
After some more teasing, Levi finally slid his phone away before reaching to take one of the heavier bags from Mc’s hand. Mc gladly accepts the aid, shifting her weight forward to lean towards his extended hand. However, her shoe briefly caught the raised surface of a slightly out-of-place tile in the pavement, causing her to trip mid-step. Before she could sprawl across the floor below, she collides into a passing demon, falling face first into their chest.
“Hey! Watch it-,” the demon shouts, falling backwards from the force of the impact.
Mc instantly removes herself from the demon. “Ah-, I’m sorry! Are you okay?,” flustered from the embarrassing spectacle she’s caused. She offers a hand to the fallen demon, smiling politely as they glare at her from the floor.
“My apologies, I accidentally tripped, and you just happened to be in front of me...,” she says quickly as they begrudgingly reach to take her hand.
Before their palms can overlap, Levi moves in between the two, slapping the demon’s hand away from Mc’s. Shocked, the demon sharply pulls back his hand, hissing from the insult.
“Levi? What the fuck was that for?” Mc gasped, Levi’s expression startlingly contradicting the joyful demon he was moments ago.
“Don’t fucking talk to her like that,” Levi snarls at the demon, shoving Mc behind him despite her protests. “Stay the fuck away from us.”
At a loss for words, Mc desperately looks to Asmo for help. Rather than stepping forward to mitigate the situation as he so often does, Asmo simply moves to pick up the fallen bag and plants himself next to Levi, ignoring Mc’s aghast face.
“Guys, calm down! It was my fault, I was the one who bumped into them!” Mc exclaims, moving in front of the pair with raised hands.
“Yeah, what the hell? It was just an accident-,” the demon begins, moving to return to a standing position. Before they can get themselves completely upright, Levi shoves him to the ground.
“Levi-,” Mc yelped at the sudden display of violence. This time, she places a hand on the two advancing brothers’ chest, glaring at them both.
“If you two don’t knock this shit off right now, I’ll use our pacts to command you to stop,” she warns, hoping the anger in her tone masked the fear she felt creeping its way into the corners of her mind.
Levi clicks his tongue in frustration, reluctantly taking a step away from the terrified demon. Asmo slowly follows, never taking his eyes off them.
“Fine,” Asmo mutters. “But it would be in your best interest to leave, and never show your face around us ever again,” Asmo spat at the demon, his usually pristine face twisted into an irritated grimace.
The demon immediately takes off in the other direction, leaving the trio alone in the street. Before Mc could scold them, they both link their arms around her’s and stomp away.
“That was out-of-fucking line, guys!” Mc exclaims after a moment of stunned silence. The pair flinch a little but continue tugging her back to the House of Lamentation wordlessly.
“That was… that was absolutely ridiculous! It was just a simple mistake, and it was my fault! There was no reason for you guys to blow up on them like that!” she says, whipping her head from side to side in an attempt to read the faces of the two demons.
“Why’re you acting like that demon running into me was some kind of assasinaton attempt?! You guys didn’t used to be this… unreasonable…” she trails off, desperately trying to get Levi or Asmo to meet her eyes. “...What the fuck happened?” she asks the pair.
“I’ll tell you what the fuck happened, Mc,” Levi finally retorts, clenching his teeth as he lifts his head to look at her from behind his violet hair. “You… you were almost killed... not even a month ago. And if you think we’re just going to let something like that happen again then-”.
“But they weren’t trying to kill me!” Mc thundered, shaking with anger. “You both totally overreacted!”
“We can’t be too careful, Mc. I’m sorry we upset you, but I’d rather that than risk you being murdered!” Asmo admits, gripping her arm desperately.
“There was no danger, Asmo!” Mc yells. “Why can’t you two understand that?”
Levi and Asmo exchanged troubled glances.
“Mc, we’re just trying to do what’s best for you…” Levi pleads, Asmo nodding.
“This is what you think is best for me?! Just tearing off with me the moment I interact with any demon aside from you guys?” Mc scoffs, struggling to wrap her mind around the ridiculousness of the whole situation.
The two demons are silent, festering in shame and frustration. They avoid her eyes, struggling to produce a proper retort.
“I decide what is best for me, got it?! Because clearly, you guys have lost all touch with reality!” she continues, beyond caring about softening her insults.
Although the brothers wanted to argue back, they both elected to bite their tongues for the rest of the walk home, hoping that Mc would eventually calm down and come around to their point of view.
However, when they finally arrived home Mc ripped her arms from their grip, storming to her room while Asmo and Levi frantically tried to apologize from behind her wake. She slammed the door in their faces; they knocked the wooden surface as they pleaded for her to let them so they could make it up to her.
After a while of fruitlessly calling to her, they finally gave up, leaving Mc alone to quietly sob in her room. She refused to speak to the pair for a couple days afterward, but eventually gave up on attempting to hold a grudge on the demons she loved so deeply. She tried to drop her guard around them once again, but still couldn’t shake that uneasy feeling that had been clouding her mind ever since that day.
==================================
Although Mc found these instances incredibly peculiar (alarmingly so), she still gave the demon brothers the benefit of the doubt. She understood that they cared for her fiercely, and that this could lead them to act aggressively; but she could not wrap her head around why they were starting to disregard how Mc felt. They had begun to handle her like a delicate piece of artwork; something to be admired from within a protective container, never to be touched by outside hands.
Despite this, she decided that for the time being she would simply grin a bear it all while she gave them a chance to calm themselves, hoping they would all eventually return to their normal selves. However, this was not the case as Mc would soon realize after she had forgotten to walk home with Mammon after classes at RAD.
As per Lucifer’s rules, Mc was to be accompanied by one of the brothers to and from school. After much pestering from Mammon, she agreed to make walking back with him a daily occurrence. The two would meet in the garden at the center of RAD’s campus and make the journey home together, chatting about their day. However, Mc had completely forgotten about this agreement one day.
Mc has a bad habit of becoming lost in thought, forgetting the world around her as she silently listens to music through a pair of tangled earbuds. Mc was often accompanied by at least 1-2 demon brothers at once, so she doesn't often get much time to simply explore her own thoughts without interruption. This, coupled with her bad habit of becoming detached from the present, caused her to simply walk straight to the House of Lamentation without the thought of meeting Mammon even crossing her mind.
She had gotten home before any of the others, and absentmindedly slumped into bed after changing out of her RAD uniform. Lazily rolling over, she reached out to pick up her previously discarded D.D.D and earbuds, music still faintly playing. She clicked on the screen to turn off the music and noticed she had 9 new notifications while her phone was on silent. There were 6 text messages from Mammon, and 4 new missed calls. Mc sat up in bed to read the texts:
“Oi! Where the hell are ya at Mc?” - 19 minutes ago
“Are you coming or not? Did ya forget about me?” - 16 minutes ago
1 missed call.
“Did ya walk home with Asmo instead of me? That hurts my feelings, ya know.” - 15 minutes ago
1 missed call.
“Hey! Respond to my calls… you’re startin’ to worry me”. - 12 minutes ago
"If you’re worried that I’m mad, I’m not! Just text me when ya get home safely, OK?” - 11 minutes ago
2 missed calls.
“That's it! You better call me back right now, or I’m gonna start freakin’ out!” - 6 minutes ago
Mc drags a hand over her face, annoyed by his gross overreaction. Mammon has always been the clingy type, something she had gotten used to and eventually found somewhat endearing. However, this was just too much…
Before she could even begin to return his calls, the door to her room burst open, swinging on its hinges and slamming into the wall with a loud bang. There in the doorway stood Mammon, sweaty, panting, and obviously very distressed. Alongside him stood Satan, Asmo, and Belphie, all looking slightly less disheveled but with equally concerned expressions. As soon as they laid their eyes on her, relief immediately flushed all other emotion from their faces.
“Wha-”, she began, but was swiftly cut off when Mammon leapt towards her to clutch her shoulders.
“What the hell happened Mc?!” he exclaims, shaking her before embracing her firmly. After a tense moment, he quickly peels himself from her form, his flushed face mere inches from her own as he continues his volley of questions.
“I really thought something bad happened to you!” he cries out, silvery eyebrows furrowed. Mc opened her mouth to explain but was interrupted once again.
“-and why didn’t ya answer my calls? I got so worried that I even called Asmo, and when he said that you weren’t with him, I totally freaked!” he says, his eyes wandering to inspect her body; still expecting her to be harmed in some way.
Mc pushes the babbling demon off of her as she explains, “I’m sorry, I had my D.D.D on silent, so I didn’t see any of your texts.”
As Mammon tumbles to the foot of her bed, Asmo quickly takes his place next to her.
“Mc! You can’t do that to us again! We really thought some other demon got to you!” he sobs, wrapping his arms around her , dramatically burying his face in the crook of her neck. Satan turns his back to them to make a call on his D.D.D, presumably to let the others know that Mc is safe and sound at home.
Overwhelmed by the sudden attention, Mc struggles to pry the weeping demon off of her. She looks to Belphie to help as he’s usually the brother that grants her the most freedom in situations like these. Meeting her gaze, Belphie moves forward, his facade of indifference faintly cracking.
“That doesn’t explain why you didn't wait for one of us to walk with you. You know you’re not supposed to go anywhere by yourself, Mc,” he says with a sigh, running a hand through his hair in an attempt to feign exasperation.
Mc glares at him; she half-expected him to be on her side, to scold Mammon and Asmo for their dramatic antics as he so often does.
“I’m sorry guys, I totally forgot to wait. I guess I just got so lost in thought that I didn’t realize I forgot about Mammon,” she admits, chuckling awkwardly at her rather anticlimactic explanation. Satan turns to face them as he places his D.D.D back into his pant pocket, frowning at her words.
“Well, it's a good thing that you at least went straight back to the House of Lamentation, because if we didn’t find you in your room, Lucifer would have asked Diavolo to form a royal search party for you,” he says, his hand cupping his chin thoughtfully.
“What?! A search party?” Mc exclaims, becoming more exasperated by the second. “Isn’t that a bit much? I mean… I was only unaccounted for for less than half an hour, right? Doesn’t that seem like overkill to you?” she questions, attempting to face Satan as Asmo and Mammon fuss over her.
Satan and Belpie, who normally jump at any chance to criticize Lucifer’s decisions, simply shook their heads.
“No, it’s understandable. We can’t afford to give you the benefit of the doubt anymore,” Satan sighs.
“Huh?” Mc says, completely vexed by his explanation.
Satan moves to place a hand on her head, his palm lovingly stroking her hair despite the troubled expression that lingers on his features.
“You better start working on your apology, because Lucifer and the others are on their way back now,” he says, only half-joking. “And from what he told me, Levi and Beel had been tearing up every inch of RAD’s campus looking for any trace of you.”
Before she can argue about the matter any further, the sound of 3 pairs of footsteps thunder against the hallway’s stairs and towards her room. The other brothers burst into her room, followed by another flurry of questions and quick embraces. After a while of explaining and apologizing, Mc finally managed to quell the fears of the brothers.
Later that afternoon, they all sat down to have dinner together, the brothers continuing to fuss over an annoyed Mc. Although this ridiculous incident hadn’t ended in complete disaster (aside from the scolding of a life-time from Lucifer), it still worried Mc. She could understand, to an extent, their protectiveness over her, especially after the most recent attempt on her life. However, she was only unresponsive for less than 30 minutes, and all of them had flown into a panic; it was completely out of character for most of the brothers.
She poked at her food, still sore about the lecturing she had received. Hopefully, this was the last incident for a long while. Little did she know, it would get much worse.
==================================
Thank you for reading part 1! Can you tell this is my first time ever writing fanfic? lmaoo
Let me know if you guys wanna see more, because regardless I plan on making 2-3 more chapters! Comments, suggestions, and reblogs are much appreciated!

Avatar: Frontier of Pandora finds
Post with some curious finds from the trailer and fan speculation. Me and the other wiki editors were hard at work getting images and information uploaded to the wiki, so I had time to hone in on the details of everything!
1) Viperwolf subspecies
Looks like a new subspecies of Viperwolf, or a creature in the same family, will be featured in the game. The species appears to be blind/eyeless and finds its way around using a bunch of cool, frilly ear structures.
The species also has a very nice color variety, possibly sexual or regional dimorphism, or both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) Male hexapede/yerik
Take a look at this herd of hexapedes: that’s right, it looks like there is a “bull hexapede” in the background there, with more striping, an orange accent stripe, and a curious neck frill. If this is a male yerik, it would mean all the yerik we have seen thus far have been doe yerik!
Tumblr media
3) New biomes
In the first shot with the viperwolf creatures, we see that they are in a very taiga/pine forest looking environment. This aligns with the previously mentioned taiga and subarctic regions of Pandora. There are still many tropical looking plants like colorful ferns, and reminds me a lot of a prehistoric Earth.
Later, we see our Na’vi protagonist on her way to a clan camp that is situated in a plainland region of Pandora. However, these plains are strikingly different from the plains we saw in the film.
Tumblr media
The plains the Olangi and other horse clans inhabit read more as the African Savannah, with long, magenta grass, and baobab-like trees dotting the otherwise completely flat landscape.
Tumblr media
The game’s plains, on the other hand, have short, lush, green grass, and a cliffy landscape with many jutting cliff faces where the Na’vi villages are situated. To me, this landscape looks more like the Scottish highlands, and it could be a valley between the Floating Mountains, or be near the Taiga biome we saw earlier. And obviously, these big, frilly creatures are not seen near the Olangi.
4) Na’vi utilizing human equipment
Our Na’vi protagonist can be seen wearing a patch of human camouflage on her armor, what looks like a human belt, and she is holding what looks like a human PDA in her side pouch. Her top also looks partially constructed from an avatar driver’s green tank top. Someone in a Discord server brought up the possibility that she could have this PDA to serve as the game’s menu/UI in-game, as there wouldn’t be many ways to explain that with Na’vi technology.
Tumblr media
We also see up close and personal a Na’vi arrow with human grenades strapped to it, the same ones used by Jake in the film to destroy the Valkyrie shuttle. At first I thought these might be Na’vi made, but after looking at a higher quality image, they are definitely the same human grenades.
Tumblr media
All of this means that over the years since the RDA’s arrival, the Na’vi have been scavenging their gear from what I imagine various locations: crashed Samsons, the aftermath of battles, etc. Very interesting, as I didn’t previously think the Na’vi would be willing to do this since they stigmatize human technology. As long as it’s to teach the humans a lesson about how destructive they are, I guess it’s alright. xD
5) New species
I don’t have much to say about the other new species as there is so little information about them, but let’s take a look anyway!
First, we have this aquatic(?) creature with a large peacock-ish frill on its butt:
Tumblr media
What looks like a new insect:
Tumblr media
An adorable new lizard creature:
Tumblr media
The frilled creatures mentioned before, which remind me very much of the ancestors to dinosaurs; interestingly, the ‘alpha’ one that is orange and more elaborate looking appears to create a large shockwave during the trailer. Not sure how or why, but it’s cool!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, the one I thought was most interesting was this enormous creature that looks kind of like a rhino, but it’s got some fur on it like a wooly mammoth. The clan seen in the trailer appears to be caring for it, and give it its own big tent. It appears ill and dying, and our Na’vi protagonist gives it a comforting pet. Aw!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s all I’ve got: I’m beyond excited for this game. I can’t wait to see more of it and of course get to play it for myself! I’m saving my money for a PS5 or new PC, that’s for sure...

New D&D Book Out: Candlekeep Mysteries
There’s a new D&D book out that lists several different adventures that can be incorporated into many different campaigns, be they module based or home brew. The adventures are primarily mystery based and each mystery is suitable for different levels, going from 1st level to 16th level.
They’re written and edited by very talented people. My personal favourite adventure was the one written by Amy Vorphal (who some of you may know rom D20s Escape From the Bloodkeep) the story of which is so insane and I love it.
But while these adventures are mystery based, we of course get some cool new monsters. My favourite of which I’ll list down below;
Swarm of Animated Books
Tumblr media
Canopic Golem
Tumblr media
Cloud Giant Ghost
Tumblr media
Corrupted Avatar of Lurue (which could be used for a corrupted unicorn)
Tumblr media
Grippli, a new Frog people who are about the size of Gnomes
Tumblr media
Hag of Fetid Gaze, a Coven of Green Hags that make for a really interesting adventure that could have some serious ramifications for your campaign. Very interesting stuff and some fun game mechanics as well- I particularly enjoyed the exercise game mechanics they implemented in this adventure
Tumblr media
Shemshime, absolutely terrifying creature from a very interesting story suitable for low level players. The adventure proves that you don’t have to stick to bandits or goblins for low level PCs, you can definitely do some weird stuff at low levels
Tumblr media
Bak Mei and some other monk based enemies. I personally love having more Monk based stat blocs for NPCs and I really loved how the adventure expands the lore around Ki
Tumblr media
Skitterwidget, a creature the size of a large dog that looks similar to a cockroach. It may not look approachable, but the Skitterwidget is one of my favourite monsters in the book because it literally has a reaction entitled “Good Parent” where if someone tried to attack one of their offspring that is within 5ft of it, they use their reaction to impose disadvantage on the roll. This monster is in Amy Vorphal’s adventure and I gotta say there can be some shenanigans with these things and I’m all for it
Tumblr media
Mirrym, also known as a Sentinel Wyrm. The ghost of a silver dragon who was bound to protect a portion of the library, all that remains of her is her spectral head
Tumblr media
Lichen Lich, a Druid who pursues the path to Lichdom. A very nasty monster that accompanies one of the more heartbreaking adventures in the book. Those who listen to NADDPOD are aware of a similar Enemy NPC who has similar features. Very interesting monster to incorporate if you have a Circle of Spores druid in your campaign
Tumblr media
Finally, one of my favourite stat blocks that I’ll definitely include in my own campaign; Arrant Quill. He is part of a very interesting story and he is a high level bard, very interesting NPC who could be used for all sorts of things. I myself particularly love his Supreme Mockery attack, in which he hurls a bunch of insults at an enemy and if they fail a wisdom save they take 12d10 psychic damage and have disadvantage on their next attack. Very fun mechanic. There’s way too many Wizard NPCs and not nearly enough Bard NPCs so this is a breath of fresh air
Tumblr media
These are my favourite monsters/NPCs from the recent book Candlekeep Mysteries. Definitely worth buying, both for the stat blocks and if you want to incorporate some mystery into your campaigns

Sorry for parroting myself but I think I’d feel better for this to have its own post instead of hijacking someone else.
I saw a lot of opinions on Raya and the last dragon’s ‘Dragon’ and while I agree with a lot of their points. I also troubled by some of them. so this post is going to be for both sharing my own opinion and sharing some Info on Southeast Asia (mainly Thai) myth creatures.
1. Okay first of Yeah, the Elsa face kinda very suck. Glad we can agree on that. She looks extremely similar, even her color paletter look similar (more so in the concept art). Her dragon form face doesn’t seem to compeltely mash up with her human for either. Her human form doesn’t look like Elsa. Her dragon form look a lot younger than her human form. I don’t really like human anthropomorphic face but I can live with it if it is different from just Elsa.Make her older look like her human form or something.
2. Fur! Frankly I both have problem and not have problem with this. or to be more precise; I don’t have problem with her fur. SEA Dragon tend to based off of fured mammal like Wolf and deer and horse so some fur can be expected. I do however have problem with her mane
When I first saw the design. I don’t recognize her as SEA dragon but Eastern Dragon. A lot of my irl friend and co-workers agreed on this. Eastern dragon has a lot more exposure in the media. We see them in something like Haku and Avatar
Tumblr media
This is what Eastern Kirin and Dragon looks like. Their manes are usually their most distint feature
Tumblr media
Vesus what SEA Myth Creatures usually look like
Tumblr media
The problem is that me and my co-worker related the creature in the trailer more to traditional Eastern dragons more than SEA creature and for the story that promote itself tobe influence from SEA culture it’s kinda disapointing. It’s like we’re so excited seeing all these details in the costume and the background it’s all recognizable and then we see the dragon and went “Eh?”
Also I knew that in SEA there’s a lot of Infuence from East Asia culture too. Especially for Vietnamese and Singapore. but like I said Eastern dragon got a lot more exposure so I just thought it’d be nice to see something like Naga and Hayra represent more.
3. “She looks like My little pony/ Unicorn!” It’s probably because The dragon’s inspired by Kirin too which is essentially Asian Unicorn. Kirin are also East Asia Creature but we do have some varient in SEA too
Tumblr media
the fact that she’s inspried from Kirin and then being called dragon is another whole can of worm though
4. “She look too minimal, her concept art design look much better” Unpopular Opinion but I don’t agree with this one. I actually prefer the final design for its minimalistic approach. The concept art as too much going on that it doesn’t highlight the SEA most distinct feature; the crown horn and the tail. In the minimal design as much as it doesn’t look like SEA creature, atleast the minimal of it let me see the tail and the horn clearly enough to relate to one
Tumblr media
Hate to bring up HTTYD and the light fury up here but It’s similar to how her final design vs her concept art as well. I really like her concept art design much more than the final one and would love to see it on some other dragons but for the main lead of the movie I think they’re right to go for the minimal aproach with the clear silihoute so I respect the final design to be the right decision. That what I think is best for the lead anywell, easy and recognizable. The more detail and complex design suit more for side dragons like Nadders or Skrill.
Tumblr media
TLDR; My issue with the designs are the Elsa face and the fact that she looked more like Eastern creature than Southeast Asian Creature. despite taking a lot of inspration from SEA culture.
All in all though, I am still excited by this movie and love all the other stuff I’ve seen. Just slightly which the dragon design could have been better
To end this off I also would like to take this opportunity to share some of the SEA myth creature under the read more!
First; Naga! The most popular of the bunch. We can see them everywhere in the old architecture. They’re more of a Big snake than a dragon!
Tumblr media
Then Hayra, the one I think look the most similar to what we got. I heard some call them dragon, wasn’t sure if they are.
Tumblr media
Then there’s Naga-eater. Which is actually a Dragon. They usually in the statue together with Naga head popping out of their mouth to make it look like a legged Naga. I wasn’t sure if they’re the same as Hayra, some say they are.
Tumblr media
Lastly, The Kirin, which I have already mentioned/showned
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading! and sorry for the long image heavy post!

Undeath in the Era of the Hero of Time : 1
aka Seeing the Hero’s Shade in this TP replay shook up all my feelings of agony again and now I’m working backwards from there because I like to hurt myself.
Tumblr media
Part One: An Overview of How Fucked Things Are ™
aka The Blood Soaked Hyrule of OoT’s time
Take it as you will, in the Zeldaverse, the colour green has an overwhelming association with undeath.
Sure, sure, life too, I hear you. Farore came down and produced all the living beings that would uphold the law, apparently (specifically not claiming monsters and demons, but that’s another thing). On the surface, that make sense. Forests, lush green fields, prosperity, all of those good things. Green the colour of the most common rupee, green the colour of the Hero’s tunic. Green the colour of magic, and potions that revitalise the body and spirit.
The thing is, revitalising the body and spirit is a flexible idea. To imbue something with new life and vitality can have a lot of implications, especially when you stop talking about the strictly living.
I feel vitality is certainly the best word, not only because of it’s association with life and potency ala the Goddess origin stories, but in the ways that the game uses green itself, such as a measure of both magic and stamina. Green is the colour chosen to represent the unlocked potential within young Heroes.
Vitality specifically refers to a state of being strong and active, and it also refers to the continuance of something to exist. That’s a great thing for plants, or economies, or a potion taken by a young Link who’s swung their sword around or fired off a spell one too many times and feels a little low.
But the dead, though?
As it happens, Hyrule is absolutely littered with human remains, in no small part due to the very recently ended civil wars.
The Civil War, if you need the reminder, is described as a time when the many races of Hyrule were divided and each focused on establishing dominion over the Sacred Realm (because Triforce). I touched on this in my last meta post, but basically, its no holds barred to stop that from happening because if the wrong person gets into the Sacred Realm and makes a wish, it immediately malfunctions.
The criteria for getting into the Sacred Realm and touching the Triforce without royally fucking everything, is basically impossible for anybody not chosen by Hylia.
If you are neither of Hylia’s Bloodline (The Hyrulean Royal Family) or one of her Chosen Avatars (The current incarnation of the Hero), you are not supposed to touch the Triforce. Ever. You WILL be found wanting, it WILL shatter, the Sacred Realm WILL be corrupted by your selfish desires, it WILL unleash and onslaught of mystical influence (reflecting your heart) onto the country.
Now, if it’s Zelda or Link who touches it, that’s fine. Good vibes will pour out. An age of prosperity will ensue. The Sacred Realm is in its default state, a blank and neutral wellspring of magical force.
The game has been rigged from the get go because Hylia still had a job to do. She had to get creative because Demise almost captured the flag, so to speak, leading to the snafu of the Cycle and all that because she cheated at the game, but ultimately Hylia’s task was to guard the Triforce. And that still remains true, for the most part. The Hyrulian Royal Family (and the Shiekah by extension) had to stop at absolutely nothing to win the wars and unify the country, and retain the stasis of the Realm and Triforce, because that’s what their divine orders are.
That’s what they’re supposed to do, ‘the very reason that they’re born’, to lend a quote from King Daphnes. With Hylia on their side by default, they’re willing to do a lot of fucked up things to make sure that happens, ‘for the greater good’.
These dark times are a result of our deeds... -- TP Zelda
In OoT The Sheikah are known as the Shadow Folk. They are heavily associated with death, whether that is caring for the dead’s rest in the graveyard, or working as spies and assassins on behalf of the Royals, or dabbling in various forms of necromancy. Red eyes are an established trait of their people. I will note that, at least from a Japanese point of view, red is often used with the intention of intimidating evil spirits. But it is also a color identified with power and vitality.
So, one could suppose, the Sheikah red eye also symbolises power/control over evil and darkness (spiritually).
That’s a little something that plays nicely with things like the OoT Manga’s explanation of the tear on the eye (and the previous betrayal of the Royal family) and the high probability of a Shiekah faction defaulting during the wars and being banished with other traitors to become the Twili. I know the manga isn’t canon and also SS Impa has a tear, but if you squint, that might be because of her own feelings of personal failure to the Goddess after Hylia’s shedding of her Divinity. You could headcanon that. The existence of the Yiga later in BoTW as a similar happening of division and betrayal lend some more weight to things.
Also, Sheikah who defaulted during the civil war might have even been the ones who actually utilised the Shadow Temple.
Headline: Necromancer ninjas in the process of torturing enough info out of the enemies of the Royal family, who were reportedly seeking the Sacred Realm, decide ‘hey fuck it, let’s take it ourselves’.
That certainly fits into the description of, ‘interloper skilled with dark magic started to appear, seeking dominion of the Sacred Realm’, for me.
Anyway, to the point.
In ostensibly one of the most haunted areas of the game, Kakariko village, we’re treated to the Graveyard and the Royal Family’s Tomb, the Shadow Temple, and the Bottom of the Well. All of these showcase the obvious death and torture that went on, as well as the creepy byproducts of places so saturated with blood, pain, regret, and hatred.
Tumblr media
There are skulls in little alcoves on the walls of the catacombs, literally built of bones, who deliver messages to Link. The ones that whisper these messages are all marked by the glowing green eye sockets. Here, the green is used to make the presence of a ghostly sentience inhabiting the skull.
Unsettling. Musty. 4/10 heebie-jeebies.
Tumblr media
The Deadhand, giver of childhood trauma that it is, really does its job to hammer home the fact that there has been so many deaths, so much anguish and horror, that those remains can seemingly form into entirely new monstrosities. An amalgamate of undead flesh and nightmare fuel, made up of the body parts of torture victims and the grudges of lingering spirits, seeking to consume the living vitality of whatever comes near-- Link wearing green around the thing might as well be red to a bull.
When defeated in game, it typically drops a small green pot that refuels Link’s magic.
This is a common theme with undead enemies, specifically the ones that are of the zombie flavour. Redeads, Gibdos, Deadhands. All of them generally give up, effectively, distilled magic as a drop item.
Terrifying. Probably smells even worse. 11/10 heebie-jeebies.
Tumblr media
Literal torture device. So many people died here, the room has a green tinge to it. It is soaked in the spiritual imprint of the pain and anguish that took place here. Blood sits here looking freshly spilled, despite the civil war ending many years prior and the Shiekah having ‘died out’, save Impa.
Elsewhere in the temple and under the well, blood splatters are darker red and at least have the decency to pretend to be old. This means one of two things:
Impa still has to make sacrifices to the Seal that contains Bongo Bongo, or feeds people to the undead creatures who lurk down in the dark so they don’t wander up. (Cue the gasp of ‘so that’s why she let the Hylians into Kakariko! Every so often one of them goes missing!’)
Which is a fun dark headcanon to play with, but probably not the case.
Or more likely, the residual spiritual energy that the green haze suggests manifests fresh blood in a manner typical of extreme hauntings. For the victims, their hatred and pain persists so strongly, that their blood seeps up from the cracks no matter how long it has been.
Poltergeist shit. Slip hazard. 8/10 heebie-jeebies.
Tumblr media
Then there is this. Some people say its just another torture thing, it could have been intended to convey some sort of acid dip. If not torture, maybe bodily disposal. And sure, that’s a reasonable guess.
But it is at the very bottom most cavern of the Well of Three Features, and if it were acid-- for how long the bodies have just been marinating in it-- you can assume nothing would be left of them to stick out. And the fact that all the bodies are neatly spaced, with the arms oddly preserved. They’re presumably like that from lowering bodies in from the wooden beams, the victims may have been tied up with their arms straight upwards.
But, given the Redeads wandering around nearby, I’m pretty sure that’s what this thing does. Make Redeads.
The liquid itself hurts Link, but Link is also alive, and this pool seems to be lacking much of a glow. It’s green, sure, but it’s not exactly teeming with energy. And I think that might be part of its designated purpose-- extracting that green vital energy from living prisoners, draining them until they’re dead. I’m talking juicing people and scooping out the good stuff like the pulp from a really disturbing OJ.
But still steeped in the juice as a corpse, you’re basically pickled in magic brine, so then those gross husks crawl out as Redeads. (Hey, you know what’s handy in wartime? Scaring the shit out of enemy forces by sending some zombies at them. And if they kill them, you’ve lost nothing. If the Sheikah could actually control them? Undead soldiers. Excellent stuff.)
But all the pulpy good stuff is gone, and has been for a while, so most of the bodies in there haven’t pickled in enough magic to reanimate, I suppose.
Human juicer that churns out zombies. Out of juice currently. 6/10 heebie-jeebies.
Tumblr media
Now, THIS is active zombie juice, if I’ve ever seen it.
This is the Royal Family’s Tomb, by the way. Note the skeletons, picked clean, missing a lot of bones. And that’s a choice they made, because there are also full skeletons around to find.
There are plenty of Redeads down there, for good measure, so I’m going to assume the skeletons are potential graverobbers who were eaten. If Sheikah can presumably command the dead, then the Redeads down there might actually be a counter measure against thieves. If a thief freaks out in the dark when he realises there’s undead down there trying to eat their face, there is also a good likelihood they’ll trip and splash into this green death. A few seconds of exposure is probably enough to kill the average person, and then if their corpse stews for a bit, you have another Redead.
Their living energy revitalises the goop. Their body becomes bolstered security measures. It’s a self sustaining system.
Horrific but effective. 5/10 heebie-jeebies.
Also, there’s a chance that a couple of the skeletons or one or two Redeads down there are the remains of the Composer Brothers. But they will get their own special part in this series, covering Poes in particular.
Tumblr media
But for the moment, let it be noted: their eyes are also that ghostly green.
Poes are spirits that are unable to move on and who have the unfortunate fate, if left unattended, of turning into phantom monsters who forget their human selves and prey on the living. They tend to pop up the most in two places. One, the Kakariko Graveyard, is obvious and somewhat expected. Dead people, lots of lingering spirits, most of them probably Sheikah and Knights of renown who died in the line of duty. Understandable.
So when you apply the same thought to the fact that Hyrule field is the second most common place to find them, you may as well be concluding that it’s an enormous mass grave of war casualties.
We have established that mass quantities of concentrated death, especially earth that is saturated by the spilled blood of strong soldiers and highly skilled warriors (full of life and magic, as it were), can result in creepy shit made from human remains reanimating over time.
Poes share their haunting of the field with these bumpkins:
Tumblr media
These hauntings are not the result of Ganondorf, or the corruption of the Sacred realm. They are not a particular curse placed by anybody.
The Poes and Stalfolk are present in the game from the very beginning, and quite normal fare for Hyrulean life. Lon Lon ranch and castle town are walled off for good reason, and the drawbridge raises at night specifically in response to the literal skeleton monsters who roam around at night.
Stalchildren, specifically, seem akin to the Deadhand in that they are not a direct reanimation of any one particular set of remains. Rather, they seem to be mutated amalgamations of various parts. In the case of the Stalchildren, they rise up under the dark of night, a not-quite-human formation of bone and magic. They seem to possess an aimless drive to attack, perhaps possessed still by the orders of the soldiers who died there.
Interestingly, in a somewhat similar fashion to BotW’s blood moon reanimating the fallen monsters (due to the potency of Malice in the land peaking at those times), Stalchildren only seem to be active under the moonlight. They disintegrate when the sunlight touches them, which promotes the idea that they are the bones of the fallen possessed by the ghostly memory of the war.
Tumblr media
They also appear to wear raggy leather kilts, which is a feature they share with the related monster, the Stalfos, who are often acting out the part of a soldier as well. Even better, those bastards are actually WEARING GREEN, to boot, which given the history of Hyrulean Knights prior and their uniforms (SS and Minish cap) is pretty self evident.
Stalfos, however, are also confirmed as humans who have died under certain unique circumstance (such as the magical influences of the Lost Woods) and reanimated as a consequence of what I assume is basically magic poisoning.
It could be a bit like an overdose, succumbing under the intense mystical forces at play within proximity to the Deku Tree (which the strong of spirit can resist). It could be a draining effect, maybe even just a gaseous version of what’s happening when people come into contact with the green goo, except extracted by the forest spirits and plants (also possible that the strong of spirit might resist). That could go either way.
The forest absolutely does eat people’s spiritual energy, though. RIP to Grog and Link’s mother. They’re Stalfos now.
"Anybody who comes into the forest will be lost. Everybody will become a Stalfos. Everybody, Stalfos."
Upon killing both kind of Stal, however, the bones rapidly deteriorate into flames.
You guessed it: green.
Tumblr media
I’ve already pointed out a BoTW reference already, but to add more context back into this thing about the tie between green and things in Hyrule that refuse to die properly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That last one is cheap of me I’m sorry but we’ll get to him too
So we have established that green has an overwhelming association with not only life, but states of undeath.
The overview is, things were already pretty fucked in OoT Era before Ganondorf got the Triforce.
On to part 2!

I think I something you might going to like. 84 but with a twist. Reader is a sorcerer and a friend of Vox Machina, the last time they seen them was battle Mind Flayer thus sacrificed themselves to froze the gate to other dimensions and stop Mind Flayer. Only see Vox Machina one final look before froze themselves. Not until Mighty Nein broke the frozen sorcerer. Only hear familiar voices, once they open their eyes they realize it's not Vox Machina, but the group who saved them.
Kinda like Avatar The Last Airbender when Aang frozen in time. Hope this is too much for you.
Some friendships transcend lifetimes… I love The Last Airbender it’s such a good show, and I’ve defiantly watched it over a dozen times, but anyways onto the story
I know I’ve called stories long before but like I thing this one takes the cake so far… here’s hoping it’s a good one
Lost Time
Vox Machina/Mighty Nein & Sorcerer!Reader (Platonic)
84- Who are you?
Spells flew left and right as you and the rest of Vox Machina faced off against a rather troublesome Mind Flayer, your ultimate goal was to destroy the gateway this aberration had opened and stop any beasts from coming through from other dimensions. Having silver dragon blood running through your veins meant you specialized in ice magic, being able to freeze just about anything with enough time and effort put in. With the rest of the team keeping the Mind Flayer distracted while you tried to use your magic to freeze and shatter the gateway, but the problem was this gate was enormous. The Mind Flayer had caught on to what was happening and attacks you causing you to lose concentration on your task, thankfully you’d managed to deal enough damage to shatter the base of the gateway causing it to crumble to the ground, falling on the Mind Flayer effectively killing it. For a moment it looked like you’d won but as the dust settled some you see the portal was still open and extremely unstable, energy crackling every which way the cavern starting to collapse around you.
"We can’t stay here the whole place is coming down on top of us." Percy calls for a retreat.
"It didn’t close, we broke it but it didn’t close!" Grog shouts still in a rage. You look over at all of them then over at the portal, you knew what had to be done so with a shaky breath you start towards the broken gateway.
"(Y/n) what are you doing? We need to leave!" Vax calls for you with a panicked tone.
"If I don’t seal this thing, it could mean more trouble then even we could handle." You continue forward against the groups protests getting close enough in range to start using your magic to freeze the opening before anymore energy can release itself. The room grew drastically colder, frost appearing along the walls as you pushed yourself past your limits.
"We can’t just leave you here!" Pike cries.
"You have to, if you don’t you’ll be buried here as well!" You yell, urging them to go without you.
"But-"
"Just go!" You scream at them, by now you could feel the cold of your magic effecting your own body. With looks of sorrow you watch as they all make their way to the exit, Keyleth looks back and calls your name one more time before being dragged off by the others. "It'll be okay." You whisper to yourself, a single tear sliding down your cheek as the gateway lets loose a pulse of energy and you unleash all your magic at once to conceal it, making your vision go white…
Everything felt cold, shadows were moved around in front of you. Were you dead? You thought you might be but then you start hearing faint voices, albeit muffled hit your ears.
"… see that?" It kinda sounded like Vex but you don’t remember her having such a high pitched, bubbly voice.
"It… dangerous." That sounded like Keyleth except much deeper and gravely.
"Wait, I think… in there." Since when did Grog become so soft spoken and educated?
"Maybe… use fire… see what’s inside." You defiantly don’t remember Scanlan sounding so shrill before.
"… not a… perhaps… could be dead." Now when did Vax get such an odd accent?
"… they're alive. We need…" Percy also sounded much calmer and relaxed then you were used to. What was going on, and why did everyone sound so different? A glowing light shines through bringing a warm feeling with it, there’s a cracking sound followed by shattering as you fall to the ground, you figured Pike must’ve used some sorta healing or restoration spell to free you. After a slight pause you gasp in actual air for the first time in you weren’t sure how long, and look up at the people in front of you. Your vision was still a little blurry trying to adjust to your surroundings and for a brief moment you thought you were staring at your friends, but when you rub your eyes to clear them you see before you a group of complete strangers making you jump back in surprise.
"Who are you?" Your voice comes out chattering both from fear and from the cold that still lingered in your body.
"Could ask you the same question." The woman who looked to be a monk shoots back.
"Well I asked first." You rebuttal attempting to stand, your legs were still shaky causing you to trip only to be caught by the firbolg on one arm and the tiefling on the other.
"Hi! I’m Jester!" The tiefling says cheerfully, holding her hand out for you to shake.
"Uhh… pleasure to meet you." You greet slowly accepting the hand shake, you then look to your other side at the firbolg.
"Hi, I’m Caduceus, how are you?" He introduces himself.
"I’m doing quite alright, thank you." You then look to the others in the group.
"Hi I’m Nott, just Nott." The goblin gives an awkward little wave, you wave back.
"Name's Fjord." There was a minor shift in his voice that made him sound more western, but only for a moment. You just nod your head in acknowledgment.
"My name's Caleb Widogast." The red head says rather stiffly, you could easily tell he was a wizard due to the large spell book stripped to his persons.
"Beauregard." The monk woman simply says.
"It’s very nice to meet you all. My name's (y/n)." You finally introduce yourself, now feeling a little more comfortable around them. "You have my thanks for freeing me of my icy prison."
"How did you end up in there anyways?" Jester asks. You explain to them everything you could clearly recall from your adventure before somehow placing yourself into some kind of frozen stasis.
"You know, now that I’ve had a better look…" You trail off slightly, taking in your surroundings once more. "This looks nothing like the cavern I sealed myself in. Where exactly are we?"
"You're in the Happy Fun Ball!" Jester happily states, you give her a confused look.
"That’s only a nickname." Caleb quickly jumps in, giving you a quick explanation of the object you were inside.
"How strange, maybe the last pulse of energy from the gateway sent me here along with most of the ruins." You look over at the broken and thankfully inactive gate that was in shambles, defiantly no way to activate that thing anymore.
"So if I may ask, why go through the trouble of coming here a second time? I mean, you know how dangerous it was the first." You question.
"Well we're looking for someone, that wasn’t you, and hopefully find a way to stop this cult for something called the Angel of Irons." Fjord gave an explanation this time. You let out a large sigh, this was a lot of new information to take in such a short time.
"That’s interesting." You say absentmindedly, still taking in this new situation you were suddenly in. You shake your head a bit and look to the group. "Well, if you need any help I'll happily oblige, it’s the least I could do for freeing me."
"Why that’s very generous of you, honestly we could probably use all the help we can get." Caduceus gives you a kind smile.
"Of course, just tell me everything I need to know about your situation." With that they all started to explain everything that’s been happening, it being a little hard to follow along sometimes with them talking over each other but you get the picture eventually. "So your friend, Yasha right? She’s under this Obann's control and they also have a creature called the Laughing Hand at their disposal. Now your here looking for the wizard Yussa because he’s been missing in here for 3 weeks and time is really strange here too, did I get all that?" You question.
"That’s the basics of it." Nott says with nod.
"Looks like we got our work cut out for us. Especially with the strange time here." You place a finger under your chin in slight thought, you had a lot of questions running through your head but had to put them aside for now, there were more pressing matters to deal with first. Finally having regained enough strength to stand on your own you set off with this new group of adventurers…
Taking down the Permaheart had been no easy feat but with Beau downing it and yours and Caleb’s combined spells it was finally reduced to frozen ashes and you’d finally located Yussa, amongst other things that happened and were ready to leave this place once and for all. Throughout all this, as helpful as you were you could tell this group still didn’t fully trust you, whispering amongst each other and defiantly not telling you everything. Who were you to blame them though, they were as much of strangers to you as you were to them, even if they did save you, so you figured it best to just keep a slight distance when they talked quietly with each other, and if you were being honest you were exhausted. Having been frozen for who knows how long didn’t cancel out the effect of having used a lot of magic, plus the magic you used to help fight off the creatures and creations that lurked in this sphere. You located the exit and the second you all arrived inside of Yussa's tower you fell to your knees panting.
"Whoa, hey are you alright?" Fjord comes over to you and helps support your weight so you could still stand.
"Sorry, I’m just a little tired is all, I suppose after everything I still haven’t fully recovered from my icy sleep." As if to exaggerate your point you let out a yawn and start leaning your full weight into the half-orc.
"Do you think it would be alright if we left (y/n) here for the time being." Caleb asks Yussa who in turn looks over at your exhausted form.
"I juss need some proper rest, I’ll be out of yer hair and rejoin with them once I dooo." You slur through your words slightly.
"Very well." He says with a soft sigh, then turns to his assistant to get a room prepared for you. When your brought in you immediately collapse on the little makeshift bed and pass out, getting some much needed rest. You awaken feeling much more refreshed and walk your way up the tower to where you hoped to find Yussa, when you enter the room you see the mage as well as the Mighty Nein and a very familiar face who stared back at you with as much of a shocked look as your own.
"Allura?" You ask almost nervously, she looked much older then when you’d last seen her. You see her eyes gloss over a little as she holds back tears.
"(Y/n)?" There’s a slight silence that fills the room before the two of you embrace each other. "I was told you sacrificed yourself to save our everyone, we all thought you were dead!" Allura practically cries, breaking away from the formal appearance she’d put on in front of everyone until now.
"I thought I was as good as dead too, but these folks here saved me, pulled me out of my frozen tomb." You say gesturing towards the Nein.
"Wait wait wait, you two know each other?" Nott looks between the two of you confused.
"Of course we do, we're friends." You simply reply.
"You haven’t changed a bit." Allura says looking you over.
"And you…" You pause slightly. "You’ve certainly gotten wiser." Allura just gives you a look that says "yes, I know I’m old". After your little reunion you refocus your attention on the task at hand, collecting information on this Angel of Irons and learning that it was in fact the Chained Oblivion, Tharizdun. You listen intently to everything being said to get a better understanding of what was going on and the more you learned the more serious and dangerous the situation grew.
"I believe it best I return to Tal'Dorei and inform the council, will you be joining me?" Allura looks over to you for confirmation.
"As much as I’d love to go home, I promised these fine people I’d help them. It’s the least I could do for what they’ve done for me." You give your friend a smile, she returns it with a worried look then sighs and nods.
"Alright, just please be careful and don’t disappear again, I don’t know how I’d handle the knowledge of seeing you alive only to learn you’ve really died this time." She places a firm yet gently grip on your shoulders, you place your hands on top of hers and give them a reassuring squeeze.
"I can’t make any big promises here but I’ll do my best. Until then it may be best if you keep my status a secret to everyone, alright? You’ll even be the first person I visit once this is all over." You look her in the eyes and slowly release your grip, once again she nods as she slowly moves her hands back to her side and teleports out of the tower.
"Aww man, I wanted to know who was on this council she mentioned." Nott looks down disappointed.
"Me too." Jester pouts. "Unless you know!" The two of them give you expectant looks making you take a step away from them.
"I can’t say I’d know for sure, a lot is different now then what I remember." You hold up your hands in defence.
After getting everything sorted out, you left Yussa's tower thinking as long as you stay with this group you should be fine. Then they split up, the girls in one direction and the boys in the other which threw you for a loop but you were able to sort yourself out and enjoy a more casual rest of the day getting to better know some of the others. The following days weren’t as you’d expect however especially when you were shopping around a little shop know as the Invulnerable Vagrant, it was no Gilmore's Glorious Goods but it still nice and you had to admit the shopkeeper, Pumat, was a charming firbolg in his own right. What was really unexpected though was the surprise attack by the Inevitable End, dealing with them was tricky when they could phase through the floor but you managed to drive them off and check in on what was happening with Yasha. Your next stop was a visit with a sorta mafia? You were really starting to question the group's moral compass, sure you have done crazy things in the past too but the Nein seemed to find a way to make things even weirder, you decided to stay out of most of it when they told you the only way to get in was to share your blood. Meeting up the next day you made your way back to Pumat's shop, being both shocked a relieved when he decided to join and help the party on this fast approaching mission…
Never in your life had you thought that the steps to a cathedral of Pelor would feel so menacing and filled with unease and yet here you were. The battle was intense, rifts opening and bringing forth creatures of the abyss, Yasha and the Laughing Hand were proving to be tough opponents and everything seemed to be going downhill. With sights set on the mind-controlled barbarian you weighed your options, you couldnt be reckless with your spells seeing as Beau had fallen unconscious so an AoE spell might end up killing her, you settle for using a Ray of Frost spell seeing as your silver dragon blood made it stronger. It works, distracting Yasha away from Beau and giving Caduceus the opportunity to dispel the control over her and spare Beau from deaths grip. With that taken care of you switch your focus to an oddly familiar situation, going to close the rifts and stopping the creatures coming through, however this time it wasn’t a large gateway at least. You were very focused on your task you didn’t notice Obann escape to the deeper chambers of the cathedral until you heard one of the Nein call to you.
"Obann's escaping we need to move!" Caleb calls, you look back and forth between them and the creatures still coming through a few of the remaining rifts, Pumat was still dealing with the the creatures as well and by the looks of things, despite his word of reassurance, he was already having a difficult time.
"You go on ahead, I’ll stay back here and help fend these creatures off!" You call back.
"Are you-"
"Just go!" You shout at them feeling a strong sense of déjà vu. You shake off the feelings, this wasn’t going to end like last time. The Nein disappear after the devil and with Pumat to aid you the two of you worked to close the few rifts and finish off the remaining cultists and creatures. It had been a long and strenuous battle but you’d done it and you were still alive, you rest yourself against one of the supporting pillars to catch your breath. After a long pause that feels like hours had passed, you feel a feathery touch against your shoulder, looking over at Caduceus who uses a quick Cure Wounds on you, Fjord also makes his way over.
"We want to thank you for everything, we may not have managed as well as we had if not for you." Fjord thanks, handing you a healing potion.
"I suppose that makes us even then." You comment with a cheeky smile happily accepting the potion and putting it to use right away.
"You know, I feel we could really use someone like you on the team, if you’re interested that is." Caduceus offers.
"I appreciate the offer, and though in reality it has been a long time since my last adventure, it still feels like it was only a short time ago to me. I really miss home, and am in dire need for a break, but if you do ever require my assistance in the future I will happily lend my aid to you again. For now I just wish to go home and familiarize myself with the changes that've taken place." You decline the offer as politely as you can, he gives you a nod of understanding. With that you get up, bid them farewell and exit the cathedral, making your way towards an area that’s out of the way before getting to work on a Teleportation Circle, as you're setting it up you think back to your time with this crazy group of adventurers, and while it was short they still made you feel welcome in their own strange ways. In some ways they reminded you of your time with Vox Machina, perhaps that’s why you were able to work with them and come to form a trust with them as quickly as you did, who knew. You finish the last symbol for your spell and the portal opens to the familiar view from inside Allura's tower, it was time to go home so with a deep breath you step through the portal.
Bonus (2 for 1 story):
Reunion
"Are you alright? You're looking quite nervous." Allura asks with slight worry as you walk through the halls of Greyskull Keep.
"I haven’t been home in so long and so much has changed, I just don’t know what to expect or how they’ll react." You admit. She places a hand on your shoulder and gives you a reassuring smile.
"Trust me I don’t think they’ll be expecting this either." You walk up to a set of large double doors.
"And from everything you told me…" You trail off a bit.
"There’s more I missed, but I’m sure they’ll be more then happy to fill you in."
"Okay…" You take a breath and reach for the knob only to pause again. "Why don’t you go in first, and I’ll follow your lead." Allura just gives a soft chuckle and nod before opening the door and heading in. You step back and try to catch your breath wondering why you still felt so nervous. You had to wonder if this was even worth it, a lot had happened and changed since you’d been gone and there was a lingering doubt that your friends might not even care anymore.
"Come in and say hello." You hear Allura's voice muffled through the door. Moment of truth, you steel your nerves and make your way through the door. When you enter you have a look around the room seeing all eyes on you, at first their expressions were blank or shocked so you decide to lighten the mood and give a small smile.
"Hello everyone, it’s been awhile." You say in almost a whisper, already feeling the tears well up in your eyes. The next thing you know your tackled into a hug by a sobbing Keyleth.
"You’re not dead! You’re not dead!" Is all you hear her say through her sobbing. You now return the hug having been able to stabilize yourself and comfort the Archdruid.
"I missed you too Kiki. I’ve missed all of you." You release one arm from her seeing as she wasn't going to let go of you just yet, and feel a slight pressure rest on your shoulder once you do. Craning your neck over you see a raven perched itself on you, you raise your hand and give him a little scratch under his beak as he leans into the touch. You look to the others seeing Vex approach.
"My word darling, you haven’t aged a day since we last saw you. What’s your secret?" She tries to add some minor humour to the situation but you could tell she was holding back some tears, being just as overjoyed as Keyleth.
"Just freeze yourself for a good 20 years or so and it’ll shave off those wrinkles in no time." You lightly chuckle, using your free arm now to offer her a hug. She accepts giving a much shorter side hug to you while the others finally came to their senses and start bombarding you with questions. You do the best you can to answer all of them as well as properly greeting everyone again and exchanging welcoming hugs from them, being lifted off the ground when Grog brought you into an almost bone crushing grip. "As much as I missed you too, I’m still fragile." You wheeze at the goliath.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just been so long." He says, trying and failing to hold back his emotions.
"Right, which reminds me, you must have stories to tell me. I’d love to hear what you’ve all done over the years."
"Oh man, where do we begin? There’s so much to tell." Pike ponders aloud.
"How about we start with what happened after my… departure." You suggest, ready for the day to be filled with stories of their adventures and exploits.

Finding You (Part Fifteen of ??)
Goodness gracious, I’m back, and excited to be here. I just had the weirdest two weeks, so I apologize about not updating last week. Luckily, I just stayed home today and was able to write most of this chapter. Here is a link for anyone who’s new and wants to start over at the beginning: Part One.
A couple notes: I totally forgot I wanted to add a dream sequence to part fourteen, so I added it first thing in this update. It is a rewrite of part of Satan’s “The Search of Self” Devilgram so there might be some spoilers. I also missed you all so much! Honestly, I’ve been feeling kinda down lately and haven’t even had much motivation to play Obey Me (or do much of anything), so being able to hang out on Tumblr today and see all the posts has helped me get some of my inspiration back! I also bought a Chromebook and I'm still getting used to it. If the formatting goes weird, please let me know so I can fix it.

Mc followed Satan to a fairly large building. Satan, still so weird to say, had asked her if she wanted to go around the Devildom with him. The letters above the door were illegible, seeing as how the Devildom had their own language and alphabet, but she instantly knew where they were when they walked in, “You took me to an art gallery?!”
“Oh, seems like I made a good choice,” Satan looked a tad shocked, but then smiled, “I like to come here to get away from stuff and clear my head.”
“So, are these like human art galleries?” Mc asked.
“I think so? Naturally, they have older, historically significant paintings, but they also exhibit pieces created by young, up-and-coming artists. And they’re always holding interesting events. It’s a lot of fun… Are you interested in art, Mc?”
“Yeah, I am,” Mc answered.
“Ah, is that so? I’ve got a feeling you and I might get along, then. I really love art.”
Mc felt her heart thill at his words. She’d been interested in the blonde fourth-born the second she’d seen him, and her interest seemed to be well founded.
Satan continued on about why he loved art, and though there was brand new art for her to look at, all she could do was hang watch Satan and hang onto his every word. He wasn’t saying anything she herself didn’t think, but just being here with him was giving her butterflies.
“... If you’re nervous about coming here alone, then say the word, and I’ll join you anytime.”
“Ah, that’s so nice of you. Now that I know this place exists, I’m definitely going to need to visit often.”
“You’re really excited about this, aren’t you?” he was watching her, eyebrow quirked, but with a soft smile.
“Of course! Not only do I have a whole new history to learn about, but there’s even new art!”
Satan chuckled, “Well, I’m glad you’re actually interested in art. It really is important not to focus only on your outward appearance like Asmo, because the person you are on the inside has a way of showing through on the outside as well.”
“I agree. Too many people’s beauty is only skin deep.”
“Exactly. Incidentally, it looks like they’re having a contemporary art exhibit here today. Shall we go check it out?”
“Definitely. I hope demon modern art is better than, “Four Blue Squares on Canvas”.”
“Wait… Really?”
“Yup. It’s a real art piece I saw in my University’s art museum.”
“So, was it really…”
“Just four blue squares on a white canvas, all equidistant from each other.”
Satan blinked a couple times, “Well, I hope ours is better too.”
They entered an exhibit space. Mc found herself a little disappointed, as she saw some of the same stange, abstract, postmodern art she would’ve seen at a human art gallery. Satan noticed the change and hurried to explain, “This is the human art wing. Many of the “lost” art pieces you’ve heard about can be found in collections here in the Devildom or in some of our galleries. This gallery is curated by Lord Diavolo, as advised by Barabatos, Lucifer and myself. Right now I believe this collection was put together by Lucifer.”
“Ah. That makes sense,” Mc stated, lips pursed as she looked around, making Satan laugh.
The duo continued through the gallery, Mc stopping every-so-often to examine a piece that caught her eye. Satan knew the artist’s name and the medium of almost every piece, though there were a few that were new to him too.
“Check out this work here. The use of color is so novel, so original. It’s very eye catching.”
Mc leaned down to read the museum label, “You know, that reddish color really reminds me of… Oh…”
“Human blood? Yeah, I thought as much. Though the smell had been dampened, probably diluted with water, it’s still unmistakable,” Satan answered absentmindedly. Finally seeing Mc’s discomfort, he quickly tried to backpedal, “I’m sorry. I forgot human noses aren’t as... sensitive as demons. This artist makes pieces that stimulate multiple senses. She’s an acquaintance of mine. This piece in particular incorporates the blood of… Seven distinct creatures, demons included.”
“Oh… Which one is the demon blood?”
“The black. If I’m not mistaken, she used her own blood for this piece,” Mc nodded, the art more macabre than she’d originally thought, “Well, there’s a lot more to see than just this. Let’s see, what’s over here in this space?” They walked through an archway into a room that held a huge installation. A lot of strange items filled the room, some on pedestals, or the ground, while others hung from near translucent strings from the ceiling. The lighting in the room was generally low, specific spotlights or illumination obviously very strategically placed. A low glow on the floor marked a pathway that allowed the viewer to wander around the room.
“Wow! Now this is very interesting,” Satan breathed, eyes glittering, “See? Check it out. At first glance it looks like a bunch of random stuff scattered all over the place, doesn’t it? But actually, every piece of rope, string and crumpled paper has been arranged very meticulously. It actually depicts a war between a dragon and an army of angels. If you want proof, look at it from the side. It looks as if the dragon is over powering the army. Buuuut,” Satan continued excitedly rushing over to the other side of the room, “When you look from this other angel here, it seems the angels have the upper hand.”
“Interesting, because, from where I’m standing, I can see Earth.”
“Wait, really?” Satan moved to where Mc was and bent down so he could view it from her height, “Would you look at that. I don’t think I ever would’ve seen that. How interesting… Very nice find,” he complimented, his smile, words and proximity making Mc’s cheeks heat up.
They spent some more time in the room, though they didn’t find any other secrets. They both vowed to come back however to search some more. They then spent more time in the gallery before Satan suggested they head out to get some refreshments at a new cafe in the Devildom.
“Thank you for that Satan,” Mc grinned, “That was some much needed mental refreshment.”
“No, thank you Mc. It can be difficult to get any of my brothers to spend time with me in a manner that I enjoy, and even harder still for them not to annoy me in the process, so I usually end up going around on my own. It was invigorating having someone with me who also appreciates art,” He grinned at her again, making her heart flutter. She could definitely get used to spending time with the Avatar of Wrath.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mc blinked awake. That was the second dream she’d had that seemed more than just a dream. She could still remember the first in clear detail, though her dreams usually started fading once she woke up. The only other time she’d experienced something like this was her memory of being a Wanderer. But… This couldn’t possibly be like that. That was a memory, and these were just the result of finally being able to talk to and spend time with the demon she’d admired for so long… Right? She shook her head, the large questions the dreams brought up already giving her a headache. She grabbed her DDD blinking at the light it gave off. After her eyes adjusted she saw a new message alert. Opening it she smiled. Seems like he'd finally opened up her letter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Dude, just read it.”
“Easy for you to say.”
Belphie sighed and got up, grabbing the letter off of the kitchen counter.
“What are you doing?” Satan asked.
“Well, if you’re not going to open it, I will. I can’t believe you didn’t read and respond to it that night.  Honestly, you’re one of the most powerful demons in the Devildom and you can’t even-” he was cut off by Satan grabbing the letter from him, the seal already halfway broken.
“I will open it myself, thank you.”
“Then do it,” Belphie said, unaffected by Satan’s anger.
Satan narrowed his eyes, and turned back to the letter in his hands. Logically, he understood why he was nervous, and usually knowing the why behind a feeling would help him get it under control, but that had never worked with any feelings toward Mc. He had hoped this time around would be different, and he was almost more nervous than before. There seemed to be so much more riding on her returned affection than before. Cautiously, he broke the rest of the seal on the envelope, and pulled the letter out/
Dear Satan,
I would love to get coffee with you sometime! If I can be even half as engaging as last time, I’ll consider it a job well done. To help us plan that and talk more easily in the future, I included my number ;) Once you text me, I have a secret to share with you.
Satan blinked a couple times. He turned the letter over to see if she’d written anything on the back. No such luck. Was that really all she’d written?
“Forever the tease I see.”
“... Did you just read that over my shoulder?”
“Well, when you delay as much as you did, and then have that kind of reaction, who wouldn’t? Anyway, you should text her.”
“I… Yes, you’re right. I definitely should,” Satan said grabbing his DDD. He opened the messaging app, typed in her number and… just sat there.
“You good?”
“Hmmm? Oh, yeah. I’m just not sure how to start the-”
He was cut off by Belphie grabbing his DDD, typing something, and then tossing it back to him, “There you go. I’m going to go sleep now. It’s way past my bedtime.”
“Wait, what did you even-”
“Night,” Belphie called from the doorway before walking out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Satan was reading when his DDD meowed that he had a message. He almost threw the book he was reading into the air as he lunged for his DDD which was on the table next to him. He didn’t even have time to be embarrassed at his over-the-top-reaction.
Satan: A secret?
Mc: Yes :D
My name is not Jane Doe, though
I’m sure you’ve already
surmised that much
Satan: I thought as much, though it really isan ingenious alias.
Mc: Thank you! I thought so too
Satan: So… Do I get to know what you’re
real name is?
Mc: Hmmm… What if I want to go get
 that coffee with you before
 I divulge that information?
Satan: We’ll just have to go get that coffee then.
Mc:
Tumblr media
When?
Satan: Whenever you’d like. I am free today.
Only if you want though.
Mc: Okay! Shall we say… 16:00?
Satan: As long as there’s no last minute RAD Student Council meetings called, that should be perfect
Tumblr media
Mc: Well, if there is, I’ll just have to come
 tell everyone you already made plans.
I’ve been meaning to visit RAD anyway.
Satan:
Tumblr media
Oh how I’d love to see Lucifer’s reaction
to that.
Mc:
Tumblr media
Satan: Wait… Shouldn’t you be asleep right now?
It’s rather late.
Mc: I was asleep, but…
Satan: Bad dream?
Mc: No actually. Quite the opposite.
I just can’t stop thinking now.
Satan: Ah. I understand that.
Anything I can do to help?
Mc: Would you talk to me a bit longer? Maybe tell me about thelatest book you’ve been reading?
Satan: Of course.
Though he wished Mc would talk to him about what was bothering her, he figured this was probably the better option. They hadn’t met many times, and prying might upset her. So, he simply started telling her the basic plot of the new novel he’d picked up. Eventually, she stopped responding, and the messages stopped being shown as read. Satan smiled at that, texted her good night, and snuggled down into bed himself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m sorry!” Mc’s voice brought Satan out of the book of poetry he’d been reading, “Not only did I fall asleep while texting you last night, but then I was late today and I set the meetup time? Ugh, I feel so bad and I’m so sorry!”
“You’re alright,” Satan smiled, not wanting to acknowledge how much anxiety had been eased up by her appearing.
“I woke up late, and I dropped my DDD bad enough that we have to get a new one all together, and then Michael was asking me about native Devildom fabrics and if he should get a new outfit made in one… It’s just been a day so far.”
“Like, I said, it’s all okay. I’m sure you would’ve messaged me if you could.”
“I would’ve. I still feel bad… But thank you for being okay with it,” the look of anxiety to joy that she gave him made every second he’d spent waiting worth it.
“O-Of course,” he got out.
“So, what were you reading?”
“A collection of Arabic love poems.”
“Ah, “... When I love, / I become liquid light,” and “... If the devil was to ever see you, he’d kiss your eyes and repent,” Mc sighed, resting her chin on her hand. Then, as if remembering her current company and current residence, she shot up, “Sorry! I just really love that line.”
Satan laughed, and then said a quote of his own, “My lips and fingers were pens on her flesh. / I memorized her in every alphabet and memorized my memories until they multiplied…”
“I look at you and I dream of snow, I look at you and I await autumn…”
“My temptations in your eyes, And the cities of your grief,” Satan quoted just then realizing they were both leaning in towards each other. He leaned back a bit abruptly and cleared his throat, “Anyway, I really enjoy Adonis’ work.”
“Me too,” Mc answered, leaning back as well. Fortunately, a waiter came up to them to take their order, helping resolve the awkward air his sudden retreat had created. He tried to collect his thoughts as she ordered. He could only think of one thing to talk about though.
“So… Your name is not Jane Doe.”
“Nope.”
“So... What is it?” Didn’t they have this conversation last night?
Mc looked disappointed for a second, but then she was back to normal, “It’s Mc.”
“Really? That’s a lovely name.”
She looked up, eyes measuring him, “You think so?”
“Of course! It suits you really well,” Satan said.
“Well, there’s actually an interesting story behind that. Usually when an angel becomes an angel, they receive a new name. Back in the past, they used to allow them the choice between their new name and their old one. This resulted in too many angels remembering their human life, so they stopped allowing it. I’m the first angel in quite some time to keep the same name as I had in life.”
“Really?”
“Yup. Apparently Sim and Luke were insistent on it. Luke didn’t have a ton of clout upstairs at the time, but Sim does. I promised I wouldn’t question them too much about my human life.”
“They were huh? That’s interesting…”
“Why?”
“Oh, uhhh… Just general curiosity. I’ve been trying to pin down what kind of person Simeon is since the first exchange program,” Satan scrambled, actually managing to sound convincing.
Mc just hesitated and then nodded, not keeping eye contact with him.
“I’m sorry. I’m just nervous that I’ll make a fool of myself and ruin this time like I have the other times we’ve talked,” Satan confessed in Latin, his brain still on the last language he had been reading. Saying the things that had been bothering him started when he became more comfortable around Mc the first time around. He found saying the things on his mind out loud usually released much of his nervous energy, helped him understand what and how he was feeling without doing things to make Mc uncomfortable, even if she hadn’t understood most of what he’d said. It had become something they had shared, causing her to work hard to learn other languages so she could catch the little embarrassing things he said.
Mc gave him a look before replying, “Well, you didn’t mess up last time.”
“Well, I-” Satan cut off when his brain caught up to his mouth. She had just responded. In perfect Latin. His brain flipped back to their discussion on Arabic poetry and he realized she had been quoting that in Arabic too, “I hadn’t realized… Of course you speak other languages.”
“I have to read it in its original tongue. Translations generally don’t do the original justice,” Satan was still trying to think of an appropriate response when Mc spoke again, “Question though: Why did you say that in Arabic?”
“I… I fell into that habit awhile ago.”
“I thought a lot of demons knew different languages.”
“Well, I don’t do this around other demons. I don’t care what most of them think of me…” Satan cut off as the waiter came back with their drinks.
Mc sat in thought for a second before realization dawned on her, “Oh, was it because of…” her face fell before she could continue her thought.
“Hmmm? Did you say something?”
“No, just a stray thought that slipped out.”
“Hmmm… Well, do you want to tell me more about yourself?”
“Only if you tell me more about yourself.”
“Sounds fair to me. We can trade off asking questions.”
“Okay,” Mc seemed very excited by the prospect, and Satan found it infectious. The questions were a bit stilted at first, but they slowly fell into a comfortable space. Though the answers Mc gave, it seemed she was the same person essentially, but a lot more educated, even more opinionated, and with a different upbringing. He found the fact her personality had remained intact very interesting as well as relieving. He found the fact she was now an angel not as terrible as he thought it’d be. Sure, she spoke about saving souls and bringing people to the light, but with what she’d done for him and his brothers, it seemed a perfect fit. He’d always known she was a really good person. At times it had almost made him try to give up on their relationship, not wanting to corrupt her, but also feeling it in his very nature too. Now however, he didn’t necessarily feel that for her. She was an angel and it took a lot to corrupt an angel. He didn’t feel any animosity towards her and found her to be a lot like Simeon in her regard to demons. He found himself thanking Simeon for keeping her intact. If they couldn’t give her back to me, this is probably the next best thing.
They were both surprised when Mc’s DDD rang, a call from Luke asking if she’d be back in time for dinner. While she was on the phone, Satan received a similar call from an annoyed Beel telling him it was time to come home. Lucifer wouldn’t let him eat until he’d gotten home. They both got off the phone at the same time.
“I… actually have to go. I hadn’t realized how late it’s gotten.”
“I didn’t either. I have to go as well. There’s a hungry Avatar of Gluttony at home and a stupid Avatar of Pride that won’t let him eat until I get back.”
“Well, I really had a good time tonight. We should do this again sometime.”
“I agree,” Satan smiled, “Today was amazing.”
Mc smiled and blushed a bit, “I’ll text you later then?”
“Definitely. Bye!”
Mc waved cutely and then started running off in the direction of the castle. Satan watched her until she was out of sight, smiling softly the whole time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, yeah. Arabic love poems make me live. I apologize if the translations are weird. I literally found them on a twitter post someone had posted on Tumblr. Here’s the link: https://twitter.com/rosewatwr/status/1292487129793208320?lang=en
Can we also take a moment to talk about how absurd it is that Satan, of all people, was having trouble eating properly with a knife and fork?! Are you kidding me?
So I finally watched The Owl House
Tumblr media
I wish I’d do this with every show I watch but it seems like only a lucky few get the She-Ra style rant of love treatment. Well, I finally watched The Owl House after my dash having been flooded for the past couple of weeks and I have some thoughts. Slight spoilers below.
First off, I love the whole vibe. I had a faint idea that this show would be about magic but I didn’t know much before watching - except for one thing, we’ll get back to that. The way it builds its world and deals with magic, though, is so refreshing. And I just have to mention here that I laughed out loud at all the Harry Potter jabs, they were hilarious. I expect we’ll learn much more about magic and its users as the show goes on but as far as the first season goes the introduction was really solid. It strikes the right balance between leaving things to the imagination but being more than “wave wand and magic happens”. It’s colourful, it’s creative, and I even like the ovens and school tracks, despite knowing that the story is about not conforming to those. It makes the Boiling Isles unique and make me want to learn more about the world even beyond the characters and the main plot.
TOH also presents a world that’s much more macabre than I was expecting from the Disney Channel, not that that’s a bad thing. I found myself thinking of Adventure Time at certain points and pondering, at scary moments, how kids would react. I think kids love this, though, and besides, nothing can be more scarring than Courage the Cowardly Dog was. It’s not that terrifying, of course, just daring enough to stand out. Overall the show has what I would classify as more of a Cartoon Network vibe than a Disney Channel one, but I admittedly haven’t really been following many Disney shows. In any case, I dig it. I dig the weird creatures and the beautiful backgrounds and I appreciate how alive the Boiling Isles feel. It doesn’t take long for TOH to immerse you in its world so I’m for one am hooked.
I make a big deal of loving the world itself because rarely does it happen that world-building stands out to me so soon in a series. I do love carefully constructed fantasy worlds but for the most part I’m more interested in the characters themselves. Here, I’d say it’s close to being a 50-50, which is something that even Avatar can’t say with its elemental masterclass in world-building (which is mostly because the character depth there is unrivaled but still). So yeah, kudos to The Owl House for achieving this. From Luz’s glyph magic to the covens and the titans, I’m excited to explore this world more.
Now, the characters. The real meat of any story. Starting with Luz, I have seen some criticism that she’s a generic hero so far, the “I’m a weirdo”, heart of gold, upbeat variety. I don’t think this makes her bland, though I do admit that being told over and over again that she’s weird makes me less engaged, even she’s also shown to be weird. I like the message of her arc and that the chosen one trope was deconstructed almost right away. I like that she’s relentlessly enthusiastic and kind to people and I like that she doesn’t have to get more bitter in order to get development. Instead, she learns from her mistakes but keeps being herself and brings her unique spirit to the Boiling Isles. We need protagonists like Luz, not just because she’s latina and bisexual but because her learning process doesn’t involve cynicism. Sure, there is a lot she needs to learn but her heart is presented as an asset and a sort of source of magic. I’m excited to see where her story goes, for sure.
Tumblr media
I’m gonna write briefly about the other characters before I get to my favourite one. Eda is super cool and I quickly got over the fact that she’s not Beatrice Horseman, lol. She embodies such a youthful energy but the show also allows her to be a middle-aged woman comfortable in her own body - well, owl curse notwithstanding. Also, her relationship with Lilith is one of my favourite parts of the whole show. Eda subverts so many of the mentor’s traditional tropes and I’m here for it. I kinda thought she was the villain based on her design and when I didn’t know anything about the show but hey, happy she’s not.
I don’t think I’d even seen a picture of King before starting to watch the series and at first I thought I’d get tired of him real quick. He’s the type of character who can get really annoying instead of endearing really fast if he’s not given any depth or charm, both by way of writing and voice acting. Luckily, I ended up liking King and his antics. His design is indeed adorable and Alex Hirsch is a genius. The only time I felt like he went too far was, perhaps surprisingly, in the book writing episode, “Sense and Insensitivity”, but even there going too far was the point. So yeah, King’s also great, there’s much potential in his backstory and general character.
Alright so really quickly, other characters: Willow and Gus are generic best friend characters and though they already have other things going on, I expect more development as the series progresses. I like that Willow is actually super powerful, just not in the way people expected her to and Gus is clearly also talented despite being younger. I’d be happy to see more of the other kids, get more familiar with Hexside. Edric and Emira are fun characters but they were really shitty in their first episode so I was kind of surprised they weren’t more of a nuisance to Amity later on. I’m all for supportive siblings so I wouldn’t mind a good relationship between the three but I feel like it’s more complicated than that with the Blights.
Finally, I also have to mention that Hooty is... well, quite something, isn’t he. Much like with King, I thought he’d be much more annoying but somehow the show is self-aware enough that it makes Hooty tolerable. I’m almost always torn between feeling sorry for him and being thoroughly weirded out, and I think that’s the intention? It’s fitting that he’s the titular character as he embodies the tone of The Owl House well in my eyes. He’s there for the comedy but there’s just enough there to hint at something more. Very bizarre, strong CN vibes, here for it.
Now that I’ve written a paragraph more about Hooty than I expected to, let’s talk about Amity. Listen, no other character stood a chance to be my favourite as soon as I learned Mae Whitman voiced Amity. That woman gave me Katara so now I have a quasi Pavlovian response to her voice. I’d also say that I knew more about Amity going into the show than I did about any other aspect of TOH. I heard somewhere that she started out as an antagonist, I knew her parents were abusive, and the reason the show blew up on my dash and my general online bubble is the Grom episode. Lucikly I only saw stills of Lumity beneath the crescent moon but the pure Sapphic energy of that was enough to gay migrate me to this show. I’d like to note it here though that The Owl House is a good show in and of itself, the queer rep is just a nice extra. I’m gonna spend the next couple hundred words going on about Amity and her crush on Luz but I don’t value only that. The Gay Migration is great and rep is great but I’m also grateful to have a solid show behind it. That being said.
I’m a total dyke for Amity Blight. I was very biased before even being introduced to her character but I genuinely find her to be fascinating and she has great potential. She’s developing quite quickly, like much of The Owl House, but an arc not being stretched out for several seasons before getting a rushed conclusion is refreshing. The progress hits all the beats and the only note I have is that I want more. She starts out as a generic bully but the opportunity to be more is there from the beginning. We find out early on that she used to be friends with Willow, we see that she works hard and values honest work. When she becomes Luz’s rival, it doesn’t last long before Amity shows that she’s open to new perspectives. That’s not to defend or even justify her earlier and nastier moments, Amity was rude to both Luz and Willow. But through all that, she becomes a complex character who does bad things but isn’t a bad person and grows when she gets the space to. I think that’s neat.
Tumblr media
Luz’s decision to befriend her might be cartoon logic but as someone who subscribes to the “kill them with kindness” ideology, I can totally relate. Amity’s softer side doesn’t take long to show and “Lost in Language” is such a great episode to show how complex people can be. Again, I was already biased when it came to Amity but she’s consistently shown to be capable of self-reflection and growth when others give her the chance. I think her past and potential future friendship with Willow is a great way to explore many different topics and I’m trusting the show to do it justice. I also can’t wait to meet the rest of the Blights, if only to get me some angst and further develop Amity. I half expected Grom to take the form of her parents. Too dark for Disney? Well, we don’t know Amity’s dynamic with her parents, exactly, but there’s so much subtext and potential. I love what we’ve already seen from her but I’d also say that she has one of the greatest potentials in the show.
Another way in which this potential manifests is Lumity, of course. Again, they’re developing quite quickly but that doesn’t mean it’s rushed. I’d love to explore Amity’s crush more and what Luz means to her. The Grom episode surpassed all expectations, still and gifs don’t do the stunning dance sequence justice. The animation is so smooth, the colours are amazing, the music is on point and the Sapphic vibes complete the picture. Poetic cinema, truly. Molly Ostertag and Noelle Stevenson are really out there giving wlw animation fans everything we ever wanted, huh. It also warms my heart that the crush is made very clear, not just by Luz’s name being on the note but by the delightful gay disaster that is Amity in “Wing It Like Witches”. I never thought I’d ever see such a relatable useless lesbian in animation so kudos to Dana Terrace and the whole crew. Wow, how far we’ve come.
So yeah, Amity is a funky little lesbian and I’m a 100% here for her gay disaster moments, but I also love where Lumity is going thematically. They’re great as foils and I’m hoping that they won’t get together at the very end. Look, I love me some Bubbline, Korrasami and Catradora, but it’s time a wlw relationship had the chance to exist onscreen and not only in the last episode. The Owl House has a great chance to do that. I know the creators don’t want romance to be the main focus and I respect that, I think the world they created deserves to showcased and explored to its full potential. Lumity could be a great subplot though, as representation on the one hand and as a thematically interesting dynamic on the other. Plus, Luz and Amity are just cute and sometimes, it’s as simple as that. Oh, and also the whole Little Miss Perfect thing? One of the best fandom discoveries I’ve made in a long while. Not only is the song truly perfect for Amity, I love that Joriah Kwamé went on to write Ordinary as well. This right here is why fandom is beautiful.
I think that’s about it for season 1 initial thoughts. The moral can be a bit on the nose at times, especially in the early episodes but the show is ultimately for kids and I appreciate its message. Interesting world and magic system, good characters, great potential for later seasons, just a well put together show that I’m really glad I started watching. I’m kind of sorry I didn’t keep up with season 1 as it was coming out but I would not have been able to wait between episodes. The pacing is good overall, deffo moves fast but I wouldn’t call it rushed, and the “filler” episodes still add something to the story. I’m not sure if I would still feel like the show moves at a fast pace if I hadn’t binged it but in any case it isn’t rushed, the necessary beats are all there and have time to sit. I’m going to watch as it comes out from now on so hopefully season 2 will arrive early next year.
Oh, and: I’m very new to the fandom, barely just found out about Little Miss Perfect, so any and all tidbits, fun facts, and fic recommendations are welcome. Also if you just want to chat my inbox is always open!
Season 3 notes popping off
due to my desire to not completely fail all my classes this year i made myself slow down significantly while listening to this season, and the fact that the other person i'm listening along with had to catch up. We've managed to convert several other people to start listening and its pretty great.
ep 81: what does it even mean to be chosen by one of them? And if he was chosen by the eye. we know Gertrude wasnt? Because she cut the eyes out of the magazines?
ep 82: elias lmao. I understand why people like him so much bahshdhdk i thought he was gonna snitch on Jon but he didnt so he's fine. Ok but how do we think he knew all that stuff. Idk probably just institute connections. I love the fact that the recorder just wants to record stuff randomly bjahsjdhd. Elias feels a lot like Michael in the sense that he knows more than he should and talks in a way that implies he just wants to wait and see how things play out for his own benefit. I understand him knowing the things that happened but his description of her emotions implies something paranormal. Maybe he's connected to one of the entities. Which one I cannot guess.
ep 83: did a file get delivered randomly to the place he's staying at? Probably elias lmao. He thinks the mannequin is related to the stranger. Idk I would believe it.
ep 84: worms? I know he says earth worms but idk. Again? Is she making gordon golems out of trash? Martin popping off. You can tell the statements get to him more that they get to Jon. How come martin is so mad about it? I want to assume he just doesnt want her to get stuck there but idk. Jude Perry. The calliope organ. Jon heard a circus in one of the last episodes
ep 89: he's talking to perry? Like jude Perry? He says ... God? Is that what it is? Lmao. The Desolation. Jon is tired of ppl being vague and not telling him stuff lmao. Oh God Jon is so confused. Compel her? Is she assuming he has some kind of power? Does he have powers? Hmm. im agreeing with jon here please jesus christ why does everyone have to be so cryptic. Just say what you mean. "maybe you get an itchy eye" bahasjkdfklsjdf girl what. Agnes saved her? Oh this is the girl from the cafe story? So theres the Cult of the Lightless Flame? They worship whatever entity this is? The Desolation? Why do they all seem like they sorta worship her then? Is Gretchen gonna die oh god. fuckin michael. a different michael aaah. i see. dont do it shes gonna burn you. sir. please. sir dont you dare do- WHAT DID I SAY what did you think was gonna happen hhh.
ep 90: try to make it less obvious you're trying to get fired big T. Elias that doesnt sound like the most healthy thing to do. oh dear is this gonna be triggering for me. uuuuuh. uuuuuuuuuh. doesnt seem like it ok gonna keep listening. Jared. hmmmmm. Ok we've seen Keay and hotner or whatever his name was.
ep 91: Michael Crew. Oh is this the lightning scar guy. Mister jon sir did you just die. No? God everyone is so fuckin cryptic. Say normal things please. They all just like to go on about pain and agony and j e s u s c h r i s t we get it you got hurted by whatever thing. So theyre avatars? question mark? Jude Perry is an avatar of The Desolation? hhhh fractals. thats a spiral thing innit. Yup. messing with your perceptions. God they all talk about feeding their god and feeding that which feeds them and. hh what does that meann. Leave big J. please. uh oh. is it daisy? how come he has the web lighter still? the tape recorder just turns on sometimes you know how it is. So he can compel people? not that he knows it obviously but. a bit wack. powers go brr i guess? If the eye just wants knowledge i guess he feeds it by getting the statements? b/c i doubt it wants him to murder ppl or whatever.
ep 92: elias you all knowing fuck what do you know. (i guess all given what i just said) Lukas. Heard of them before. Mordecai Lukas. Loneliness. The lonely even. Jonah Magnus. Elias ur sounding like a bit of a dickhead rn. lmao jon's just like "i dont care" elias what is ur deal. Why does he want to tie her in. ohh i see. lmao theyre all just like "elias why" The Unknowing lol seems very much like something the eye wouldnt like. lol elias is gettin all philosophical. what does it really mean to be human. this still doesnt answer why gertrude wanted to destroy the archives tho.
ep 93: bahsjdfh he seems so dead inside rip. awww admiral. i love him already. ghh breacon and hope. purple mold. doesnt sound like anything we've seen so far. I think the funniest explanation for breacon and hope is that they dont actually serve the stranger they just kinda happen to be a random neutral party that cart around random spooky entity related stuff. ooooh. when we hear the slight static of the tape recorder it's cuz he's compelling ppl.
ep 94: the end! listen man they were all just grayed up for 4/13.
ep 95: the end also? death but also savagery/ animalistic shit. aww martin. lmao becerra. she's just been chillin in the corner.
ep 96: return to sender. haha minecraft go brr. prediction: breacon and hope? yup there we go. jon why is there an echo. are you in a stairwell? is he gonna eat it- yup. how did i call it. unsure abt what theyre talking about but ok. they kidnapped someone? Sarah Baldwin. ooooh that guy.
Tumblr media
ok im just putting this here so i have notes for when nicholas gets to this part. It seems like (from jon's conversation with jude perry) that the desolation and the eye are kinda at odds with eachother? like i guess not directly but it seems like they dont really vibe? so how could be with both. Cuz if he has the heat powers and shit then we know he's an avatar of the desolation. but then why does he have so much eye imagery. also he got burned intentionally? like jude did when she went on her monologue about the feeling of burning? but then why did he wear the eye pendant. it stops him from being burned all the way which seems like he's not fully accepting the fire or whatever.
Nooooo I lost like a bunch of my notes rip. I keep forgetting to save.
Ep 104: tim gives a coherent statement without jon even being there. Ugh. Fucking robert smirk. Dont like him. Joey. Dont recognize the name. The show must go on. Clown. The spooky circus?
ep 105: total war... shogun 2? jon is just understanding languages again. "if i understood mandarin or cantonese" are you sure you dont big man?
ep 106: havent we heard this one already? mans in space? oh no this is just another episode in space. fairchild... uuuh. cant remember. oh! this is related to that! this is one of the ppl from the other side. sounds like a Vast thing. oh he's the one that the dude saw? but that guy didnt have a face... she's sorta like jon. wanting to dismiss the statements. lmao i love the workplace gossip. ace jon for the win! oh cmon elias dont be a dick. sunny meadows or whatever. thats the place we heard about.
ep 107: oh great is it jude perry again. Third Degree. bahahsdkfj she was arrested. sorry but imagining this old british lady getting arrested is funny. she was trying to resurrect him. using the skin book. he's not feeling well. jon take a nap. i wonder if this is what happens when he uses his powers too much. He gets into The Zone when he reads statements lol. didn't we have a burning train car in anothre statement? is it julia fairchild? bahahahs "kidnapped. Again." poor jon honestly. julia... about her dad. daughter of the murder shed guy? hunting like your dad liked to hunt or normal people hunting. oh hunting vampires!
ep 108: melanie has been suffering. poor martin peter lukas why do you have to be like this. can he not just use the front door? does he have to bother the ppl doing statements?
ep 109: how come he cut her off? kinda rude tbh. its either jon's influence or there was smth he didnt want her saying. is it gerard on the table? this sounds kinda like smth from one of the university episodes. is it the closed eye on the hand? yup. he's like one of the students! if the thing listening in is elias then... he can do that without the tape recorder yknow. plus who's to say it wont just turn itself on again
110: who wants to bet its a leitner?
111: Lukas related to The Lonely. I used to not like Gerard that much but i like him more now. but i thought there were 15? ohhh thats right isnt flesh newer? gerry for the win honestly. finally telling jon things.
112: lol "again" no one ever tells any of these ppl anything. tim and basira are just out of the loop constantly. music, like the war episodes. The hunt or the slaughter? probably the hunt. so Daisy is related to the hunt right? basira likes the reading, she's doing fine at the institute. daisy's getting worried...
113: it just turned on randomly. what is it lol. explossives! oh boy. why do they always assume he turned it on intentionally. melanie youre not making me like you that much. which entity is this about i cant tell. lol he was disappointed it was just the end. The title Breathing Room made me think it was gonna be about the buried but i guess not. So many of these entities deal with death but the end is one that deals in just death. it has no need for fancy deaths, just death is enough
114: more hilltop road statements? the tree. oh boy. ok the tree has 8 arms obviously theres the spider parallels. was she taken into an alternate universe? oh no. jon tries to phrase things so he's not asking questions. thats honestly good. "sometimes i was kidnapped" oh dear. they got gertrude. daisy ur so odd lmao. who wants to bet they dont know the tape recorder's running?
115: silaca? or whatever? antique man? meat grinder... related to the meat is meat episode? oh wow. they buy antiques from him. maybe dont antagonize this creature which can kill you?
116: lol theyre all just so done with elias. music? is it like the one band that if you hear them you die or wtvr. oh its chess? i am very much confused. mmm stranger go brr. gorilla skin? oh shit the dance. woah. this is so good. this is so gender. the words are wonderful. "you can just say tim" lmao trying to fool elias never feels like a good idea.
117: except elias lmaoo. oh shit. leitner getting some use for once idk. bruuh poor melanie she has been thru so much shit. martin you can just say youre worried about jon. lol he's so accurate in his jon impression. lol who was that. was that daisy? lmaoo. oop hi tim. oh god i hope tim doesnt die. i feel like i wouldve heard about that? but im not sure. destroying the source of knowledge is gonna be hard for jon. yay jon! you did a good thing. let him rest.
118: go off martin lmao. awww poor martin. oh god the tape gets that squealy quality and its awful.
119: woah. lots of things happening. uhh. POP OFF TIM!!
120: lmao elias giving a statement about jon's dreams lol. damn jon doesnt even get his own dreams? has to stay Watching even when he's asleep? f in the chat this man goes thru so much shit. oh boy its peter. lol martin my beloved. idk i dont trust peter.
