this isnt what i usually post on this blog but I'm already sick of all the memes and 'jokes'. I am almost certainly leaving the fandom for good now because of the book of bills release and NO it is not because billford's community has an influx of supporters.

So the worship and romanticization of asylums and other abusive practices for mental health have been steadily gaining traction in recent years, especially with the rise of tiktok's toxicity.

SO many people, especially younger people, regularly talk about how they want lobotomies or how women they don't like should be lobotomized. They get tattoos of lobotomy like it's some quirky fun thing and not one of the most horrific tortures someone can endure.

These same people, ESPECIALLY leftists, will look at anyone they disagree with or don't like and say "get institutionalized, loser" or "et therapy" and it's always in a mocking way. it's always in a policing way.

because these people know that mental wards strip everyone of their freedom and their bodily autonomy. they know these places arent for healing--theyre for silencing.

So the amount of people i see treating bill being institutionalized like a good thing---even the writers and alex himself?

so like recently theres been a rise in bkdk shippers and bkdk as a ship is more popular and just overall more accepted then it was in the earlier fandom, and ive been a bakudeku shipper for a veryyy long time dont get me wrong, i was reading the BAD wattpad fanfics of them and everything, and obviously the reason its generally more accepted as a ship is due to bakugo’s character development and his apology to deku and everything, because it shows his growth as a person and YEAH! despite this like.. it never actually was a toxic ship like some people say but thats not what im getting into

with the like RISE of bkdk theres a major like… decrease??? in anyother ships involving the two of them and like.. OBVIOUSLY its because theres a lot if cannon implications between the two, and its just how fandoms work, theres a cycle of popularity and fandom wide favourite ships to change and fluctuate overtime

HOWEVER the fall of kiribaku is SO interesting to me because it was SOSO popular, like everytime something needed to be promoted or there was official art, kirishima and bakugo would be together, kirishima was drawn along with the ‘big three’ of the first years (bakugo, deku, todoroki) despite not really being OFFICIALLY on ‘their level’ in the actual anime, he was kind of an honorary member of their ‘group’

and i think that the decrease in popularity for their ship is obviously because of bkdks canon interactions going up due to like.. natural plot like progression, but also because of the like…. stopping of kirishima’s character arc???? he kind of halted as a character and stopped progressing its really interesting but again not what im getting at

i think that their ship kind of.. falling behind and stuff is also due to the blatant kirishima mischaracterising!! like a lot of the time kiribaku is framed as this ‘i can fix him’, ‘i can change him’ ship which just.. isnt true??? kirishima is bakugo’s EQUAL, kirishima js the one character bakugo accepted was on the same level as him in terms of strength and everything and kirishima genuinely thinks bakugo is COOL and manly (obviously he occasionally does say that his anger isnt always heroic but its never serious or anything)!!

as well as this its like.. theyre both extremely unhinged with kirishima letting bakugo literally like.. explode his body when he asks to just because!! and everyone seems to like.. forget that they ARE equals and frame their ship as, bakugo is either a stronger person than kirishima and someone whos helping him achieve greatness, OR kirishima as someone whos fixing bakugo’s behaviour and changing his personality which just.. isnt whats happening between them

After being blasted by the great big enemy of all multiverse (no we are not saying their name you spoiler trolls) the amazing Deadpool was dying in front of all the avengers/xmen/fantastic four/the marvels/black panther unit(put here whoever you wish to see there)/etc team and before the very eyes of one handsome naturally blonde nordic god. Thor had tears in his perfect sky blue eyes looking in complete despair.

Around them the others(put here whoever you wish to see crying in the big screen)started to cry too. It was another lost for them and at that time they couldnt take any other fall, also I must remember you all that Wade is a hero, he saved an universe with his boyfriend and taught us that gay love is unstoppable and Madonna is eternal if you already didnt know that.

The crying was ending and the enemies were coming again(in fact they never stopped it was just that sentimental scene in the middle of action thing) but Wade didnt wake up.

"What the fuck?" Logan said and couldnt help but to run there. "Its enough, bub, just end it, okay? You got it, your scene or whatever you said, you know why Thor was crying and all that bullshit."

Some of the others shared confused looks and Thor looked at him as if he was crazy. Then a blast hit the ground close to them and they all got in action again. It was the end of all time after all! But Logan kept there and he kneelt next to the motionless body. "Wade, its not funny anymore."

Nothing. "Fuck." Logan cried, tears rolling his hairy face, and he pushed Thor out the way. so allegedly based on episode 5 leaks, alicent tries to vie for regent while aegon is (temporarily) incapacitated.

predictably, there have been stupid takes from both sides of the fandom. i just know that y'all rhaenyra fans (and a lot of the general audience) aren't going to realize that alicent would be asking for something VERY different than what rhaenyra wants. a queen regent is not the same thing as a queen regnant, and there have been examples of queen regents in westeros before. call alicent a hypocrite on everything else (which is a whole other discussion) but i will fight anyone who tries to call her a hypocrite for this. not to mention if the other leaks its true it's obvious that the writers are trying to draw a parallel between rhaenyra and her where rhaenyra also gets undermined.

but moving on to the aegonwives- just as i call out daemonwives/viserys fanboys when they piss me off, im going to do same with you lol.

ive seen comments like "alicent cares more about having power than the fact her son almost died" im sorry but have you actually seen the episode yet or are you just jumping to conclusions? dont get me wrong, the writing HAS done aegon dirty, so a lack of faith is understandable, but that doesn't mean abandoning all common sense especially when there have been times y'all were wrong about something. like i haven't forgotten how so many assumed alicent saying "proceed cautiously" was after blood and cheese and yet turns out it was the small council deciding what their next move should be after aemond killed luke.

anyway, i honestly don't know how based on a single line you can interpret alicent wanting to be regent in that way. if anything, her wanting to be regent shows her LOYALTY to aegon. she put him in that position (pushing his claim) so she owes it to him to be his regent while they wait for what is to become of him. it doesnt matter if she hasnt ruled in wartime, she has to help her son somehow. according to these same leaks, alicent is also suspicious of aemond. if that's true, then yeah it makes perfect sense why she would want to be regent. what's the bet y'all would get mad if alicent despite her suspicions, doesnt have any objections to aemond taking over? she can never win. i love aemond BUT depending on what they do with it he has put her in a situation where alicent can't really confront him for aegon because that would mean making alicent's other children and granddaughter even more vulnerable than they are now

finally, ill end it here by bringing up that according to professional reviews from people who've seen past episode 4, alicent has been described as someone who "screams for vengeance when her son is scarred in battle" now how does that scream indifference or lack of love??

Hi, there are people defending the ending of mha and some good points can be made like Izu never cared for fame...and how Izu working as a teacher is in character, I agree.

I told the op how my gripe is not Izu not having bitches, its how he is not happy, he is not being appreciated.

The ending even though I do view it in a negative light has a few good points like you mentioned above. While I do like izuku becoming a teacher I do wish that izuku got a career that involved his analytical abilities. A career where he works with mei and Melissa makes sense and would be interesting to see in my opinion.

I have brought up the point that it's the fact that the manga doesn't show us 1A interacting with eachother outside of heroics or hero costumes which to me can be interpreted that they really aren't close and also further emphasises the point that the 1A found family thing doesn't cannonically exist. In my opinion it's not difficult for Hori to make it so that izuku says yeah they don't meet much anymore but we still see izuku hanging out with some 1A members or we see his phone that has some messages from a 1A GC. This would of helped a lot in my opinion.

I don't really care about canon ships and Iam glad that none have been confirmed but the fact that the fandom has made it a gag that izuku somehow fumbled and the fact that this gag also sexualises and paints ochako in a bad light is disgusting in my opinion. I hate it.

I would like to correct you that the official manga translation does state that 1A did chip in to help fund the suit while Melissa and mei where the creators of the suit. I suppose they wanted to make it a little suprise thing for izuku but it's a shame and weird that we don't see them reveal it to him?!?!

and like- the idea that naruto can only love people that never disagree with him is so fundamentally against his character it's almost comical. if that were true naruto wouldve simply killed nagato. he wouldn't have tried to understand him or talk him out of it the way he did, once he heard his story. he wouldn't have tried talking to obito either. or even neji, konohamaru and inari, as small as those moments look in comparison.

yet the part about naruto beating sasuke up is... weird. they do realize naruto was fighting him because sasukes idea of a revolution meant to martyr himself for the sake of peace, the way his brother did, right?

now, that doenst mean naruto is completely in the right to simply undermine or ignore konohas wrongdoing just because it only fuels the cycle of violence. naruto himself is victim of konohas shit system, and he has acknowledged many of the problems it caused. he promised to nagato that hed help amegakure when he became hokage.

of course you could argue that narutos methods may not be as effective for change as sasukes more aggressive plan, since systemic change is rarely if ever achievable by working within it. but im not that good with politics so i dont think im the best to talk about it, and that already goes beyond the topic here.

sasukes violent reaction to konohas mistreatment of the uchiha was completely understandable and anyone in his place wouldve don the same. lets make that clear here. i think saying he was highly justified is not a controversial take, at least here. konoha and the shinobi system ARE fucked up.

Dick is Romani and is canonically more feminized but the dumb womanizer thing is really getting on my nerves. First of all, he's one of the smartest characters, ever. The comforting thing about Dick is that he never loses.

The reason I love reading Dick Grayson runs is because I can read about his thought process, the way he analyzes, how he single-handedly solves crime like it's nothing.

Secondly he's not a womanizer. He literally has a mental break down at the thought of dating or even kissing someone he isn't in love with. He's never, ever, ever going to sleep with someone he doesn't have atleast some level of romantic attraction to because he feels it's inherently wrong and canonically frowns upon that behavior when others do it.

The mother hen thing - I gotta admit is kinda accurate. He really loves his family and friends and takes care of them really well. He always makes time to sit and listen to all of them with all their problems and helps them solve it so that's fine.

The hispanic thing - what the actual heck. Literally why? Jason's "hispanic" fanon background along with Tim's "asian" background comes from a wider problem where society has become disillusioned by the same ethnicity for all characters and wants for diversity and representation in the media. I actually do believe in greater representation but not here. When people make Jason hispanic due to his street backstory, they're attempting to diversify canonically white characters but accidentally reinforcing and perpetrating damaging stereotypes about particular ethnicities. Because his background has drugs, poverty, and crime - you want Jason to be Latino? Can you possibly make things worse? And Jason being an angry heartless brute. Not even adding to the stereotype, Jason was not like that. Jason originally started off as troubled but excited kid. He was happy about fighting criminals and having a home and getting food. As he grew older, the more criminals he fought, he came to a realization that people weren't going to change which is when he started getting more violent and angry with them. He didn't do it because he was some sort of psychopath, it's because he cared a lot about the effects these criminals were having on innocent people. Because he can relate. His anger has nothing to do with his supposed "hispanic" background which is still - ?!?!? Why is this even a thing.

I don't really have anything to say about Cass being that archetype because tbh I kinda think of her like that too. She's exceptionally good at fighting, she's chinese, and she's the strong and silent type. I'd love to hear more about what your gf thinks about it though.

Again about Tim being Asian. No where near as damaging as Jason being classified Hispanic but also why? He's asian because he's smart? Because he's good at computers? C'mon the stereotype is boring. Isn't it exciting when you watch a movie or show and the Indian guy isn't an IT specialist? Or when the Chinese girl has neon highlights and loves partying? Or when the Japanese girl is rocking combat boots? The best way to appreciate diversity is actually letting ethnic characters have diverse personalities and talents. On a side note, there is not nearly enough celebration of already canonically diverse characters like Roy's navajo heritage or Jessica Cruz's latina one. Isn't it ironic how we're making racialized characters based on stereotypes because we believe there should be more diversity but ignoring canonically ethnic ones. Literally noone talks about Cass connecting to her Chinese side or the fact that she has dyslexia but we're readily jumping on the Asian Tim Drake train.

Autistic Tim Drake I can see where they're coming from because Tim sometimes has a hard time connecting to people. Like he sometimes misses social cues. I honestly cannot understand the people hating on your work. I feel like fandoms has been invaded by a wave of purity/moral policy that shouldn't exist anymore. it's even more wild to me knowing you're working on a greek myth, and the greek myths are KNOWN to have many versions. that's the beauty of them in my opinion, the way these authors all wrote their own versions and they passed them to us. I love the fact you picked Ganimedes, and you decided to explore both Zeus and him. And the mystery you keep about your relationship really makes me wonder which take you will follow!

and speaking of take, I really enjoy yours on Zeus. Gods are complex beings, and sure they're problematic (like duh) and bad, and everything but it's funny how people will decide which pick for who. Like everybody love Poseidon but oh boy, he can be as bad as Zeus people. So yeah, I am actually excited to read the way you're gonna write him! I don't hate Zeus, sure he does seem one of the "worse" when reading most of the myths, but my favorite thing is the way you can love one god in one story, and hate him in another. they're immortal beings. they're not just black and white. so I happen to enjoy when authors write Zeus as more than just a big bad villain. But I also enjoy when they just don't make him a "sweet lovely daddy".

Oh by the way, I didn't know the version of Metis abusing him and I'll have to look into it! We had a more "feminist" vision of her myth in my class, so it's not something that was talked about hmm.

About the hate... People re affraid (artists have to much power kkkkk) and we live in a time that you need to share your opnion to get validation. In my case, they need to say that Zeus is bad and hate on him and me so they know they re on the rigth side and have good morals. And even after all this, I think its a good thing they just warning people, that way I can get to my real target that can enjoy characters more complex that re not good or evil, but mess up beings (that includes Ganimedes). And even if people in the end critizied my aproach, its also fine, I dont claim to be perfect and just hope that even to the mad ones, they feel inspired to create their version as well. I think they forgot that, like, they can have their version and will be as valid as mine, dosent matter the story.

(I really enjoy everything about Ganymede, if people go and do their versions, its a plus to me! More about him is best for me heheh. I came across two versions of Ganymede on tumblr and I LOVE BOTH!! Really dont get the hype for the Sonic 3 movie....just pissed me off

I knew that hyping for years as an adaptation of SA2 would piss off people when they would inevitably reveal that no, it's its own story that only vaguely resembles SA2.

Turning GUN from antagonists to allies and keeping Gerald alive are certainly choices, though.

You know the issue in my opinion? The movies have always been lighthearted, and it worked for the first two, whose plots are very, very light. The first one was a generic road trip, the second one meandered a while but managed to land on a solid reinterpretation of S3&K. They're fun for kids and if you want to have a good time. But this movie sits on the shoulders of Sonic Adventure 2, a giant in the fandom, the entry point of many fans of my generation, fondly remembered for its very serious and poignant story that tackles themes of anti-military, grief, insanity and revenge. Sure, SA2 is not a snoozefest and it has its goofy moments like Sonic quipping about low budget flights or screaming TERIA... but its brand of humor is very much not the same as the one in the movies, which is more... MCU? Watch the trailer and count how many times it cuts its tension with zingers.

They even snuck in a "character gains weight to signify he let himself go", which I remember being a big source of discourse when they did it to Thor - even worse here as Eggman is meant to be fat, and his weight is just part of his cartoonish design, he is still intelligent and resourceful and determined. I could have accepted Robotnik gaining progressively more weight as the movies go on, but not like this, man, we should be better than this.

(also I'm not a fan of the idea of Sonic and Robotnik teaming up to take Shadow down. It's been done to death, it's a cheap way to prop a new character, and Sonic should probably be much more against the idea of giving even an inch to the man who wanted to dissect him. But hey.)

Now, it's still early to judge the entire story as it is, and I don't care to speculate about the changes they could make. But yeah, the trailer was disappointing, because there is a general feeling of stagnation. I never even expected a full 1:1 adaptation of SA2 because I know the movies are not interested in that... but let's just say I almost want to play that fun game of "how much did the changes from the original story outright make it worse?". And this time there is definitely more material to work with.

(doesn't help that I personally don't love Shadow, so just seeing Shadow being the coolest badass in town doesn't appeal to me like it would to many other people)

So @bibibbon talked about the chapter and was thinking in sit this one down but...nah, I want to say how...this chapter is another proof this is not a story where Izu will be the biggest hero, but the biggest martyr if he is lucky.

The fact Izu is now quirkless and lost an arm is...gross. really gross. I talked to @doodlegirl1998 how the trope people created in fics where "Izu loses his arm ain't cool?" Is really not cool. He loses an army for shocking value and gains nothing. Edward Elric wants to revive his mother and then save his bother...he lost his power but got something greater in return...and people think Izu and Edward's cases are the same. Not even in fics make similar.

Afo was ausent in the story and is now a pitiful plot device.

A theory I saw...is how Yoichi may be the biggest hero and...sacrifice himself to end afo. So in a way, ending afo and ofa forever. Why he never did this before? Who cares? But this theory is still too optimist.

Izu and shig's memories don't really matter. It's an artificial way to make them seem as if they had a great relationship, they don't. Also ....have we saw any memory that matter for Izu? He has any good memory?
