#but yeah...get rid of joker at least

Batman gives a good example as to why he has the contingency plans he has to the Justice League. This isn't hate to any of the heroes in this either. I love the JLA, but after reading many of these comics and watching the shows I can see why Batman has these plans, prep times and slight paranoia of those he sees as friends or associates. Also I'm a big fan of Aquaman too so... Fair warning there's some Aquaman praise in this.

Batman turned his back on the Justice League members who were scolding him, their voices rising as they told him to get rid of his contingency plans or at least make them less brutal. Ignoring their protests, he whistled sharply, the sound cutting through the tension in the room.

With that, he strode purposefully toward the window in the JLA meeting room, determination in his step.

Batman: You know, when four of you got Jokerized and attacked me, I was recovering from fear toxin. That made things even worse that day.

Batman went silent for a second, the other members backing away until only Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman remained front and center.

Batman: I don't like having to fight you, but I almost died that day. I actually feared some of you, and that’s saying a lot since I rarely take you seriously. You were in hospital beds for two weeks, wearing those sick, twisted smiles and completely unmoving. I could've been killed if I didn't have my plans. You could've died yourself from the Joker toxin and God knows the damage you four could do to your own cities.

Batman cracked his neck and took a deep breath. Wonder Woman looked down at the floor, ashamed. Flash frowned, his shoulders slumping. Superman struggled to find the right words, and Aquaman felt the same weight of the moment.

Batman: I have these plans so you don't kill me. I have these plans so you don't kill the people in your cities. I have these plans to protect everyone on Earth! I want to not have them and I do see you as... friends... Associates.. colleagues to a degree, but you haven't given me a good reason to put my life on the line for any of you.

No one spoke for a few seconds. Superman cleared his throat hopeful what he said wouldn't sound bad.

Superman: I mean if you could just make them less intense.

Green Lantern (John): Man, that was actually the worst thing you could've said.

Batman turned to face the group, his expression neutral, but the fury inside him was boiling over. He was at his breaking point, the metaphorical water slipping from the pot. While he regretted having to raise his voice, he felt he had no other choice.

Batman (shouting): I am a Justice League member and I will work with you, but if you don't stop pestering me about my contingency plans, I will go insane and I am taking you all with me!

Most of the Justice League: …

Batman: If the next person who talks says something that I find even a little irritating and makes me have those insane people's thoughts, I'm taking away every single vending machine in this building as well!

Aquaman: Hey, just speaking for the group here, but you seem to be going through some stuff and we're exacerbating that frustration. You're still mad at some of us for getting Jokerized and attacking you.

Batman: Which led to me contemplating death more and losing my memory.

Aquaman: Yeah, we said some rude things.

Batman (deadpan tone): Wonder Woman said she always hated me.

Wonder Woman: I wasn't in my right mind.

Batman: Superman talked like Bizarro and almost killed me.

Superman: I am really sorry about that, buddy.

Batman (glaring at the speedster): Flash… go to hell, Barry.

Flash (saddened): How come mine wasn't descriptive?

Batman (to Aquaman): And you ... I actually find you pleasant when you're not insane so I'm not that mad.

Wonder Woman: Why did that wound me?

Aquaman: While I appreciate that, you have every right to not trust us for a while. You saved us and kept us safe while we got better. I can't believe what I'm about to say... Batman, after what I went through, I get why you have those plans.

Batman: You do?

JLA members: You do?

Aquaman: I do now. Batman, first, thank you for saving us after we went Joker levels of insane. I'm sorry for attacking you and all the awful things I said which weren't true. The others are sorry as well.

Batman: You're forgiven, I wasn't mad at any of you since you weren't in your right mind that day, but my contingencies are what I keep for a reason.

Aquaman: I don't blame you, they came in handy; you got us an antidote before we got worse and although my face hurts from smiling that much, I'm glad that I'm better now. If it weren't for your incredible paranoia and quick thinking, I wouldn't be back with Mera and my son. For that, I am eternally grateful and again deeply apologize for dismissing your plans earlier.

Batman blinked, crossing his arms, secretly relieved to hear this, even if he did get called paranoid. That paranoia had helped him in the past.

Everyone else stared at Aquaman, some at how charming he was, the others annoyed he was siding with Batman. Superman was just jealous.

Wonder Woman: I often forget you're a king until you start talking like that. Impressive.

Aquaman: I'll take that as a compliment. Batman, if we hold back on criticizing most of your contingencies can you give us a tenth chance?

Batman closed his eyes, mentally debating what to say next.

Batman (clearing his throat): Apology accepted, Arthur. Thank you for understanding my plans. I can find it in my heart to give you all a hundred and twentieth chance. But don't mess it up.

The JLA members nodded, voicing their gratitude for the second chance. Batman sighed, feeling a headache forming.

Aquaman: Alright, thanks. Now, will I see you for movie night this Friday?

Superman: Movie night?

Batman: Yeah, I don't find you nearly as annoying as everyone else. Especially Hal.

Hal Jordan: I didn't even say anything! And I didn't even attack you!

Superman: You don't find him nearly as annoying as everyone else? I'm not included in that am I?

Batman: Most of the time.

Batman walked past the group, heading out the building.

Superman: Most... Most of the time? Okay I can accept that, but look at him! He looks like a surfer dude! No offense Aquaman.

Aquaman: That's not an insult to me, thanks for the compliment.

Flash: Hm, I see it now.

It's been 2 years or so since you moved out of Gotham. Well. Not moved out moved out. You couldn't leave. Gotham was your home. And even with those painful memories of Jason demanding you to leave, he's still the same person who you shared those long-lasting kisses with, who texted you every 5 minutes while he was on patrol to make sure you were safe at home, who was able to give you the first, real experience of love and devotion for the first time in your life.

But now you feel numb. Every time you caught a glimpse of your reflection from puddles on the ground or the shine of a window, you saw that gut-wrenching, eerie grin of the Joker. The grin of your father who once killed your ex-boyfriend and your passionate love.

But you broke Jason's trust. Maybe if you told him sooner, he wouldn't have cast you out. Maybe he would've sat down for a second and realised you aren't the same person as your father.

Staying at the next town over beside Gotham wasn't a bad idea, however. You were able to reflect on yourself, realising that you had no power over your father, and there was physically nothing you could've done to save Robin. But you've repeated in your head over and over that you are not the Joker. You weren't the ones who committed those crimes. You weren't the ones who killed so many innocent people. The only guilt that would eat at you was that you were selfish and a coward to stand up to the Joker and at least attempt to save someone. Bht you didn't. And you hoped that if someone knew your name, who knew your story, that they'd understand. That they'd be scared, too.

You were able to buy a run down... apartment?..house? Whatever it was, it was, unfortunately, all you could've afforded at the moment. And worse, it reminded you too much of your room in the warehouse. Minus the dried blood. But it had a horrible stench of weed, which took you forever to get rid of.

Unlike the warehouse, however, you were at least able to make it a little more homey. You didn't have any furniture, but you did have a cleaner mattress plus bed sheets, knick knacks scattered across the floors, a fake plant, or two on the floor beside you bed. And lastly, though you really should move on, a framed picture of you and Jason. You put this directly beside your bed, where it would be the first thing you see in the morning.

You know that what Jason told you was cruel. You could never forget it. But you had the decency to understand him. He dated someone he trusted. And unfortunately that someone just happened to be the daughter of his murderer. Of course, he'd think you're working with the Joker. Especially if that camera footage showed that you showed no effort to help Robin.

So, what the hell have you been doing when you went away? Well, as said, you couldn't stay out of Gotham for very long. You always went in and out, just for the nostalgia. Just because you had bad memories in Gotham didn't mean you didn't have good ones either. You just assumed that since your leave, you've been fired from Bat Burgers, so you decided to avoid that vicinity for now.

The real reason, though, was the soup kitchen. You could never step foot inside ever again, in fear that Jason would still be volunteering there, and you wouldn't want him to have a breakdown. So you just anonymously dropped off bags of produce of whatever you could afford during the day and quickly departed without being seen. But you missed the kids. Yeah, Jason made you feel loved romantically, but those kids, they felt like family. And how you missed diane so much, too. She was like a mother to you.

It pained you that you couldn't go see the kids anymore, but as you heard them laugh and yell just from the other side of the entrance, you smiled. You always took quick glimpses of them, and some of them grew taller. Some of them formed freckles on their faces. But your smile would slightly falter when they mention how much they missed you. And by that time, you'd just drop off the bag and make your way back home.

You weren't proud of it, but when you found yourself completely broke, you decided, fuck it, and started nicking a things from grocery stores, just for you to survive. And in moments like them, you think to yourself... am I slowly becoming like...him? You shake your head, thinking that the Joker had committed the most heinous, unforgivable crimes, while vigilantes wouldn't really care for petty theft, and the cops wouldn't give two shits anyway, especially if it's only stores running on the poor side of Gotham being robbed.

God, how you hated the police system. They'd only help when the richies were being mugged. Even Batman neglected the poor. Sometimes, you'd smile when you'd see Jason helping the kids of Crime Alley. The memory warmed your heart. Too bad you couldn't make more memories similar to those ones.

You rushed your quick drop off of fruits and veggies to the soup kitchen. It wasn't much. You think an empolyee spotted you trying to conceal a small box of strawberries in your jacket.

You felt some familiarity when you turned to make a run for it when you ran into somethi- someone.

"oW- literally what the fuck-" You hiss, grabbing onto your scrunched up face, not noticing the person you walked into. "Watch where you're going, nit-" You looked up to glare at the person, but oh, how you could never forget those gorgeous green eyes. Those green eyes you fell too far in love with. The green eyes that would sparkle when its owner would rant about the new chapter he was reading in The Catcher in the Rye. The ones that used to look at you so lovingly. But now, it is replaced with burning resentment.

"You're the one not watching where they're going."

What a familiar setting. But instead of the joking tone of Jason correcting that you're the one not watching their step, he means it now. As if he was some stranger to you, annoyed that some rando foolishly walked into him and tried to blame him.

And suddenly, you're back at the Batcave. Suddenly, you're back on your knees, looking up at the hurt, screaming man who towered over you. Suddenly, you hear once more if I ever see you again, I'll end you.

You don't reply to his spiteful response. But you notice your breathing getting heavy. You try to make a run for it past him, but what he says next makes you stop.

"You're selfish for coming here," he grumbles, barely audible, but you hear it. You hear it so clearly. And it pisses you off. What the hell does that mean?

"I get you hurting me because I was Robin. Because I'm close to Batman. But coming here to hurt these kids?"

You turn to him, disbelief on your face. "Excuse me?" You spit.

"These kids did nothing wrong. So leave them alone. Leave Diane alone. Leave Gotham." He says, surprisingly pretty calm.

You already feel the tears brim your eyes. "Fuck you," you say quietly, choking out a sarcastic laugh as you turned to walk away. But before you can leave his line of sight, you turn to face him once more. "I didn't do shit, okay?! I made a mistake, but I didn't. Do. Shit,"you claimed as you walk away in a fast pace. And this makes Jason fume in anger. Yes, you did. You lied to him. He told you his secrets. You were about to give him up back to the Joker. You put his family that he worked so hard and long to make amends in jeopardy. Right?

Jason follows after you in anger, pulling you through a narrow alleyway. Luckily, the neighbourhood was quiet, and no one was around to see this private situation.

"Don't talk to me like you did nothing wrong," Jason hisses. And you yank yourself away from his grip.

"You never told me you were Arkham Knight. Why do I owe you who I was?!" You snarl at him.

"But I did!" He yells back. "At least I eventually told you because you were always nagging that I was out late! And you didn't even return the favour by telling me you're the daughter of someone I hate the most! You didn't commit any of the same crimes he did? Fine. But you're still an accessory. You stood there watching him torture me. And I bet you stood there with every other victim that he killed, feeling absolutely no remorse. That makes you just as disgusting as him."

By this time, tears were already rolling down your cheeks. Your cheeks burned red, and you could feel a headache forming.

"And the worst part," Jason continues quietly. "I still can't get you out of my head. A stupid itch at the back of my mind saying that I still love you," he says in shame.

Your eyebrows knit together in confusion. What the fuck? No. No, why the fuck would he say that. That's selfish of him.

"Fuck you!" You yell. "I'm sorry, Jason. I'm so fucking sorry, but I couldn't do anything! You saw it yourself! I was a kid, I couldn't do anything! I was scared! And I did NOT watch him torture you- I wasn't even aware you were there until he killed you! I didn't even remember it was you when I first met you!"

"BULLSHIT"

"IT'S NOT FUCKING BULLSHIT," you cried, panting, your adrenaline dying down. You rake your hair back, tangled between your fingers as your tears begin to dry up.

"I'm sorry, Jason," you sighed. "I really am, I- I'm sorry I couldn't save you. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you who I was but.. but not telling you was protecting you! The fewer people who knew who I was, the safer everyone would be, especially after you told me that you're Red Hood..." You took a breath. "I spent my whole childhood believing my dad when he told me that no one could love me. But then I met you. You taught me how to love and- and how to be loved! And I fucked this up, and I'm sorry. But I'm too tired to keep arguing. I finally accepted that I'm not the same person as my father and- and I'm not going to let you take that away from me because it's the only thing I have left.."

Jason stares down at you. You have no idea what's going through your head, and right now, you don't have the energy to find out what it is. So, you slightly shake your head in defeat and start to wall out of the cramped alley.

"Oh," you say before leaving. "And for your information, I already left gotham. Just stopping for a visit," you mutter before finally leaving Hason on his own.

He shouldn't believe you. How can he trust you?

You arrived back at your house. Your body went limp, laying on the mattress as a final tear soaked through your pillow.

You absolutely hate how you know that you still love Jason Todd. He was the first person to ever help you what love truly felt like but also showed you how fast such a strong bond can crumble in a few minutes.

As Jason is remained to be alone in the alley, he thinks to himself. It's crazy. You've been raised by the Joker. The Joker. How are you raised by such an abomination but still be the most angelic, beautiful person to cross the planet.

He walks out of the alley and goes towards the soup kitchen where he'd start his volunteer work. Before he walks in, he notices the small bag that you left behind. He picks it up and opens it to see fruits and vegetables inside. He shrugs, not trying to think so much about it and heads inside.

As soon as he steps in, he's greeted by the kids, and his gave brightens in delight. But he sees some of the expressions falter.

"Where's Y/n?" One of them asks. "You two are always together... we haven't seen her for a long, long, loooong time," they frown.

Jason was about to awkwardly answer when Diane came up to him. "Jason, my dear boy! How was your rest, honey?" She asks. Ever since he found out you were the Joker's daughter, he couldn't work, he couldn't eat, he couldn't sleep. He didn't have the energy of volunteering, so he rang up Diane saying that he wasn't in the best spirits, in which she completely understood, saying that you would be around to help anyway. He was about to answer to say that he wasn't so sure about that, but Diane hung up, telling him to get a good rest, and that she'll see him soon.

Jason nods and sends her a sweet smile. "Yeah, thanks. Had a lot in my hands at the time," he explains, but Diane shakes her head.

"Don't even worry, sweetie. It's been calm the past few days," she says, looking down at Jason's hands, and a sad look reaches her eyes. "Is that from Y/n? She always left a bag of food outside, thinking she's slick. Tsk, foolish girl," she jokes. "She hasn't been around in a while. You two are dating, no? What happened? Of course, it's not my place to know. But I'm here if you need to talk, sweetheart," she says, placing a comforting hand to his cheek before walking back to the kitchen.

A little girl tugs on Jason's jacket.

"Jay-jay?" She calls out as Jason bends down to her eye level. "Is, N/n okay?" She asks, worry in her face. Jason attempts to send her a reassuring smile.

"I'm sure she's fine," he responds. "She's a big girl, like you. I'll check up on her to make sure she's okay, if that'll make you feel better," he offers.

"You promise?" She asks, holding her tiny pinky out.

Jason sighs. "I promise," he says, intertwining his larger pinky around hers.

Unfortunately for Jason, he never breaks a pinky promise to the kids. And he would never lie to them. So, on Jason's next scheduled patrol, he'll ditch and find you to make sure you're safe. That's it. Nothing else. He doesn't need to speak to you. Just a quick glance to see if you're not doing anything stupid.

Wait.

God fucking damn it.

You told Jason you already left Gotham. How the hell was he supposed to find you??

Shit, right. Diane said you always leave bags of food outside their door. So you couldn't have lived far, right?

Okay, he'll do a quick sweep of the ourskirts of Gotham, then he'll check the edge of the next town over.

It's been a long, tiring night, to say the least. He started searching the outskirts of Gotham around 6 pm and started his search of the next town from 1am.

He was about to give up his search when he heard a man yelling. He looks down to see a figure running out of a 24 hour convenient store as a man in a uniform yells after you. Jason rolls his eyes, hopping down to the roof to stop you.

You run pretty far, but you look back to see if the store owner was chasing you. You smile to see that you weren't being followed, but as you face back forward, your head hits against an extremely hard, metalic surface.

"Fuck! No- why!" You yell, pressing a palm to to your forhead, where the impact was laid. And low and behild, you see the infamous Red Hood standing in front of you.

"You know I'm always not looking where I'm going! Can you at least have the decency not to be in my way!" You hiss, swerving past him. "Besides, I don't want to speak to you," you mutter, heading home, which wasn't that far.

"I'm not here to talk. Anna just wanted me to check if you're safe." He claims as you scoff.

"I'm alive, aren't I?" You sarcastically say, grabbing the keys for your door. Jason inspects your house.

"This is where you live?" He blurts out with clear concern.

"What of it," you mumble, stepping in. Neither of you really commented on the fact that Jason let's himself in, continuing to critique your humble abode.

"There's mould and cracks everywhere," Jason says, looking around.

"Great observation, sherlock. Guess what? I don't care. It's a roof over my head, and it's a 10 times upgrade compared to the warehouse. At least there isn't dried blood everywhere," you say.

"What? You didn't have a proper room?"

"Joker wasn't really a 'world's greatest dad mug' kind of guy." You say, laying on the mattress, keeping one leg bent upwards as the other lays flat. One arm is tucked under your head as the other is laid over your eyes.

Jason wanders around the run-down bulding, looking at your belongings scattered on the floor, which used to sit on the shelves and windowsill of his much more comfortable apartment.

But a shimmer catches the corner of his eyes. He sees a frame, the picture turned away from him, directly beside where your head lies.

He cautiously walks towards you, taking a peek of the picture. And he could already tell, by the smiling faces and puckered lips of the photo, that it was his favourite picture of the two of you. He had a copy of the photo stuck in his room somewhere in his apartment.

And the guilt slowly eats at him.

"I'm sorry," Jason quietly says.

"For what?" You mutter, obvious that you're exhausted.

"Everything I said." He replies, sitting on the floor beside you. "For telling you to leave Gotham, thinking you were anything like the Joker... saying I'd kill you if I saw you again.. I didn't mean it," he says, his voice getting raspier by the second. "It was horrible of me to say."

"It's whatever, Jay... Jason," you reply, shifting to turn away from him, your back facing him. "I'd probably think the same if I were you."

His heart sunk.

"I should've believed you," he says, his voice raising a little. All he needs is for you to say you forgive him for saying all that shit. Because of him, you think so lowly of yourself, and that you love in such a horrible state, where instead the two of you could be cosy, wrapped in softer blankets in his bed in what ysed to be your shared apartment. He doesn't think he can take it if you think so harshly of yourself.

"But you didn't. And... and that's okay. I mean.." You try to hide your sniffle by burying your face into your pillow, but you aren't as discreet as you think as Jason obviously catches you. "I don't think anyone in this world would trust the daughter of a psycho," you try to joke, sending a weak, pathetic laugh.

"But you proved to me so many times that you aren't him. And I completely ignored all those times and started labelling you for someone you're not! How are you not mad- how are you not yelling at me?" Jason says, almost in a desperate whine. He needs some sort of emotional reaction from you. But you look so... dead.

You sigh as you sit up, avoiding eye contact. "Because you were right, Jason. You had every right not to trust me. I broke your trust by not telling you- I couldn't even save you."

Jason shakes his head vigorously. "No- No, no, no. Sweetheart, no," he didn't mean for the nickname to slip out, but no one mentions it. He reaches for your hands, which fit so perfectly in his larger ones. He held your hands in his grasp, pulling them to his chest, making sure you're looking at him.

"I was wrong- It wasn't your responsibility to save me. You were a kid- we were both kids! There was nothing we could've done. We were both kids dragged into Batman and Joker's stupid game of theirs! This isn't either of our faults! And you didn't tell me you were Joker's daughter... and that's okay. I'm sorry it took so long for me to understand why you didn't tell me. The Joker is wrong, Y/n. You can be loved... You are loved. Because I love you so much that it hurts," he admits, brushing strands of your hair away from your face so that he can look into your eyes. And you can look back into his. His gorgeous green eyes that can finally see love again. "And I understand if you don't lo-"

"I love you so much, Jay," you sniffle, smiling at him. Jason's eyes soften as he smiles, his head leabing forward and his lips resting on your forhead. "I'm sorry," you say, and Jason just shushes you, but you continue. "And I forgive you for what you said to me," you quietly say, shifting to lean your head on his shoulder.

"I forgive you, too, my love," Jason replies, his hand reaching up to softly caress your cheek. "I'll stay the night. Okay? Then tomorrow, first thing, you pack your stuff and move back in with me, okay?"

You smile as you nod, your tears finally withering away as you lie down in your bed, watching Jason strip off his heavy armour, laying in with you in just his tactical pants and compression shirt on. He wraps his arms around you in a warm embrace, and suddenly, you feel safe again. You feel warm again.

You feel loved again.

Persona 5 request: Another Genderbend from me. If it's ok, how would a R63 Ren/Akira be with her S/O who knows that she is Joker of the Phantom Thieves.

Fun fact: I've bought three games within the span of 24 hours so I've been doing literally nothing productive the past week. So yeah...

This art is god tier btw, credit to whoever the original artist is. I can't find them unfortunately. Also we're using Ren here because the canon names for the modern protagonists are what the animes all use.

-You two met pretty early early on into Ren's school life at Shujin, just when she and the rest of the founding Phantom Thieves were starting their infiltration into Kamoshida's Palace proper. The two of you got along particularly well, even as far as the rest of the Thieves go. Naturally it was only a matter of time before you two developed feelings for each other and got together.

-Ren felt so, so guilty deep down for having to hide her activity as a Phantom Thief from you, but as the months went on and more and more eyes were on them, she knew it was the best way keep you out of harm's way.

-However it was only a matter of time before you found out. When she was taken into police custody and news got out you called her to see if she was seeing it too, blissfully unaware of the reality of the situation. Naturally she didn't answer, nor did she reply to your texts or voicemails.

-You decide later that night to drop by Leblanc. It was just her and the cat she always carried around in her bag- wait why was she covered in bruises!?

-With a defeated sigh, Ren tells you to take a seat and get comfortable, gauging your reaction the entire time she finally came out about the Phantom Thieves.

-Naturally such news was going to shake you quite a bit, despite her leaving out the details about the Metaverse and stealing people's hearts in a literal way. Absorbing a revelation of this type, especially from your girlfriend that's been hiding it from you for months is...an experience. Though the look on Ren's face does make it clear she was sorry from having to hide it from you all this time.

-Much to her relief, you seem accepting of this secret. You'd been a supporter of the group for them having ridded the school of Kamoshida's tyranny and have been agreeing with their choices to rid the country of such clearly crooked people, regardless of how they did it.

-Ren is available noticeably less often than she was before. She had quite a few days where she wasn't already available but it gets even worse now that she and the Thieves are going after Shido. At the very least you now know the reason why and are perfectly understanding when she can't make a free day for you.

-It was one hell of a Christmas Eve you had, especially since you're one of the only people who can remember what really happened to begin with.

Watched '89 Batman just so I could read the original script and get mad at the changes. Spoilers, but also this won't make a lot of sense if you haven't already seen the movie

Starting off strong with the descriptions. I'm sure cranking up Jack's age some 20 years wouldn't make much of a difference to the plot...

I was going to say that the casting director is no Andrea Romano, but considering his name drops before Keaton's, I'm sure Nicholson was chosen through a more particular process. I wonder though, was that choice alone responsible for the "Joker kills Bruce's parents" idea? (side note, did Joker 2019 come up with *anything* new at all??) Oh yeah, the Flying Grayson's episode happens in the original script. But let's look at Ace Chemicals first — which is not the name they used in the movie, just to piss me off

They cut out a whole section of the gang breaking into the plant. It's not a bad choice, I just liked the date makeup observation. Now to the meet cute--

Bruce didn't throw Jack off the platform here, but interestingly enough we still see him feeling guilty when he finds out that he inadvertently created Joker

And yes, this is almost the exact same moment that Tom King wrote in Batman/Catwoman. Gotta love the trope of Bruce bringing up his guilt over creating his arch-nemesis in the middle of an intimate moment with a beautiful woman on his bed. Now some random things they changed that stood out to me:

Every single time Joker acts blatantly childishly or is described as being on the verge of a tantrum is so funny. Sad that we could've had this instead of him thirsting over Vicky Vale.

This is the during the attack of the mimes on the city hall. I assume they decided to cut it out because that sort of ptsd goes a little against installing machine guns on the batmobile and striking down your enemies with military grade missiles.

They didn't pull a Joe Chill/Joker switcheroo here, Vale's guilt just dreamed of this scenario. The script goes a little deeper in expanding her relationship with Bruce. She figured out he's Batman on her own — saving up Alfred's skin — but unfortunately so does her colleague. As a self-designated nice guy, Knox tries to get Batman to break things off with Vicky. He's also waiting for the news of Joker's attacks to quiet down before exposing Batman's identity, but don't worry, the scripts solves this beautifully later on.

Anyways, instead of the confrontation at the apartment of Vicky Vale (also known as Bruce's "let's get nuts" moment and the devil in the moonlight quote) we have a chase scene that leads to Dick's introduction. Before that though comes probably the second scene I most wish they had kept in the movie

Yes, Batman chases Joker on a horse, first wearing a tuxedo, then his whole gear. Do you see what they took from us? What could've been?

Joker kills the Graysons with pretty explosions, Dick jumps onto Joker's van and tries to kill him but alas is detained by Batman and batnapped.

Batman then asks Alfred to take care of Dick and the last act is set in motion. Pushed by anger and guilt, Batman blows up Ace Chemicals (tho here we're supposed to believe the thugs managed to run out before the place crumbled) but Joker escapes and goes to set the balloon parade in motion.

Before he can blow away the public, Knox and Vicky create the bat signal to alert Batman about the balloons and Joker's plans are thwarted. Unfortunately (cough) this costs Knox his life. But hey, at least Batman's identity is safe.

Big explosions ensue, the batwing goes down and Bruce is almost left dead in the debris. Dick Grayson, now dawning his makeshift Robin suit, saves him and runs to enact his revenge on Joker.

They enter the cathedral, Joker and Dick exchange some bullets and Batman eventually catches up with Dick, knocking him out again. Then Batman manages to crawl up the stairs through inhuman effort against his fatal injuries, passes out just before reaching the final floor and uh... I'll just post this next part in full

He's made a friend... Attempted murder-suicide... Joker's taken out by a horde of Bats... This would probably have replaced Fight Club in my list of favorite movie endings if it ever came into existence.

Before I close up on our villain and hero's demises, I do have something to point out that I think was improved in the final script. Joker's Smylex — basically Joker Gas, originally meant to be called Smylenol — got added to beauty products and caused some people to die in the movie. I say some, because while we see 13 deaths reported there, here it's something that comes closer to the class of hundreds. He doesn't even invent it, originally; he just steals the formula from an old CIA project. Because the fatal product doesn't happen only when certain products are mixed together, a whole lot more end up becoming victims and Batman can't do much about it except cut out the source. It's just a detail, but I liked that they thought of an alternative. I may not like the Joker mob boss origin, but at least they let him keep his chemical prowess.

Now to the ending. Batman had a last minute bout of clarity and threw the bomb away, tangling it in the helicopter's ladder

Something something Batman offering Joker a last comfort before death... Endgame and Arkham City and...

Okay, that's pretty much what I've got. Am I mad we didn't get to have this? Kinda. But also, I didn't have big expectations for what actually came out, and it's still a pretty funny film. Besides, I think when it comes to Batman and mainly Joker, sticking to the comics, games and animations is the best way to go. Best to keep the incels focused on the live adaptations anyhow

Will absolutely hug you. He can't go on his day without it. He tries his best to get as close as he can, just so he could jump on you. His grip is tight, not letting go. It'll ease up once you stop struggling and just let him be. He'll snuggle into you. Hmm his hair is very fluffy, have ya noticed? You wanna pet it?

He has this smug smirk on his face. Staring you down. Always complimenting you. Just how can he talk so much? You don't mind do you? Well ofc not, its not like you really have a choice here.

But he will get flustered, blushy even if you flirt back or return any of his affection. He'll be all over the place. "Ha! I knew it, you just love me so much! You cannot deny me at all! Heheh heh" will giggle a lot too.

He gets jealous so so easily. Like if someone else has yer attention for more than he likes, he'll get all up in their faces, threatening them. Or if they seem undefeatable, he'll make a grumpy face and will stare at you. Just cut it out and give attention to him will you?

He's acting so sweet he seems almost harmless in your arms. Don't be fooled. This clown would and will kill for you, or well, for 'the sake of you' as he says.

He tells so many jokes. Laugh. Laugh at them. Please. Gets him all smiley and even more confident.

He will collect all the march he can get his hands on. His most prized possessions are the silly plush of you and all the photos he took. How? Oh don't you worry ur little head about it. He totally didn't stalk you and took em when you weren't looking...yeah

He hates it when anyone dares to tell you that he could never love you. They say 'he only loves himself', how could they? He does love other things. He loves jokes! Thats something right? Well only his owns tho. That includes you too. You're his. And he loooves whats his.

How would Batsis! y/n become a villain?

I found this while trying to clean up my writing drafts. Not sure when I wrote this, but I decided to post it because why not.

Jerome Route

If she had no friends, that connection with Barbara, or relationship with Jeremiah then Jerome would have a considerably easier time charming y/n. The emotional neglect from the family makes her desperate for any sort of contention leading her right into the hands of Jerome.

The family would believe that y/n can be saved, but she sees them trying to save face. Trying to stop her from telling Jerome all the big bad Batman's secrets by saying they're sorry and that they care. She doesn't end up telling him about their identities because someone has to keep Gotham safe. She's with Jerome, but she doesn't agree with everything he does.

y/n might purposefully sabotage Jerome's schemes. It's not because she cares for the family, no. It's for Batman and his Robins to keep innocent people safe. She keeps the family and their personas separate. At least she'll try to see them as separate.

Her logic is backwards and hypocritical, but frankly she doesn't care enough anymore. All that matters is Jerome's love. Who needs friends or family when you can have Jerome?

y/n and Jerome probably argued over wedding ideas.. Jerome wants a circus theme with a replica of his mom as a pinata. While y/n wants a traditional, elegant wedding. They compromise by letting y/n have that traditional vibe with the ceremony and Jerome can go batshit with the reception.

Jerome never put so much thought into something before and he never wants to do that again.

The Batfamily was not invited of course. The family most likely hears about it or even sends wedding photos. y/n probably has Joker or some other villain walk her down the aisle. Bruce sulks about it for months.

Post-Spray Jeremiah Route

If y/n had no one else besides Jeremiah and her moral compass was cracked. Then of course she's almost going to believe everything he tells her.

There's no denying that Gotham is a modern day Babylon. Yeah, the world would be better without it. Maybe it would be a good thing if we do get rid of it. Yeah, we could rebuild it!

But she'll run into the same problem of not fully following Jeremiah's ideology. At least how he goes about obtaining the goal of cleaning up Gotham. The cult stuff freaks her out a lot. When his followers bow down to her and praise her, she'll tell them to stop but he orders them to do that.

After expressing her discomfort over the cult and the followers' behavior, Jeremiah will distance her from it. Having her become sheltered in the bunker or a manor hidden away in the woods. Meaning the only relationship she can have with anyone who isn't Jeremiah is Ecco. Even then Ecco is  just another follower that was trained to be a guard dog.

This version of y/n wouldn't be too involved compared to the Jerome route. But if Jeremiah was caught and sent to Arkham, y/n is sneaking in to break him out. It could be by disguising herself as a guard or forcefully entering it with full confidence.

The family would try to reason with her if only they could actually talk to her. Again since she's not hands on it's a rarity for them to see her.

The few times they've met face to face was when their hero personas. Jeremiah and Ecco were busy fighting off the others, giving them time to talk. If they try to convince her to leave him, she'll either ignore it or tell them about how he's all she ever had. The only family member that could possibly break through to y/n would probably be Jason or maybe even Barbara.

Jeremiah and y/n get offended when they're compared to Joker and Harley. They'll clearly be different because they have a healthy and loving relationship. People probably come up with the comparison because of his physical appearance and he hates it. They're not wrong when they say their relationship is loving, but it being healthy is debatable.

y/n is more than willing to kill or torture someone if they were to do anything to Jeremiah. Though once again her hands are off, but doesn't mind getting her hands dirty.

y/n is the type to write like love letters and put them into Jeremiah's pocket before he leaves. He's in the middle of fighting Batman and suddenly a pink paper with a red heart border falls out of his pocket. Seeing it makes him scramble to grab it and shove it back into his pocket. He'll read it later.

This y/n might live a more semi-normal life, but probably struggles with loneliness and depression. Since Jeremiah is often working and Ecco is Ecco.

Sprayed Route

The moment y/n realizes what is happening she goes to Jeremiah and contacts Barbara who informs the family. They'd probably find a cure, but for the sake of story and angst let's say they can't.

Everyone is just forced to watch y/n become what essentially a Joker lookalike. Or she could look completely the same, doesn't really matter because they'll all be horrified by the drastic change.

She'd use the knowledge of their identities against them. Dangling it above their heads, but it isn't long before they realize that she isn't going to say anything. Oh, but she's definitely telling Jeremiah all about this. Of course he swears to never tell anyone and he might start working with the family to lock y/n up.

Not only was she endangering herself, but others as well. The best thing for everyone is to lock her up.

If she learns about Jeremiah working against her. She'd be so heartbroken. Violently throwing and smashing everything in the room she was in before coming up with an idea. 'He'd never be against me, they probably forced him to work for them. It's all their fault. They always ruin everything, but I won't let them take him.'

Out of all of the other possible routes this y/n would be the most vindictive. She'll guilt trip the family with her sob stories of their neglect, their personas won't won't react. But she knows they'll be thinking about what she said hours later. She'll spit out insults and won't hold back fighting.

Her once passive and defensive fighting style has completely flipped to almost recklessly aggressive. The only way she'll stop fighting back is if they restrain or knock her out.

Arkham isn't hard for her to adjust to. She'll explain to her few visitors (Jeremiah, Barbara, and Alfred) that it reminds her of Wayne manor. But less lonely.

Barbara and Alfred are the only family members she'll allow to visit her. As she still has a bit of a soft spot for them. Will not admit it, but she's always pleasantly surprised when Babs visits her or Alfred sends her some of his cooking. It almost makes her tear up and feel immense sadness. Just almost.

Probably besties with Riddler or something. Most Arkham inmates know of the name Jeremiah Valeska by how much y/n will mindlessly ramble about him. They also know not to mess with him because they'll be put on top of her shit list.

What's funny about the whole "World War 3" thing regarding Bruce not killing Joker is that didn't stop him from trying or planning to.

Hell, Superman even gave Bruce an out when he was getting rid of the Joker gas, despite knowing Bruce 100% planned to merc Joker.

They battled in a helicopter and the Joker took a bullet to the gut & Bruce bailed out leaving him to die in a fiery explosion at sea.

He was even screaming for Clark to find the body before calming down and then being like "He probably survived I don't get to win."

Of course none of that changes that one Joker came back Bruce didn't finish him, even when Joker intentionally orchestrated a death from inside Arkham just to mock him and make a point about how he will continue to kill even from behind bars, basically just to be petty.

So one can see why Jason is still be rather nettled the dudes alive.

On one hand I do think Jason should learn all this re: Bruce came very close to killing the fucker but he just wasn't able to before calming down from revenge fury mode

But also yeah I get the annoyance in that Joker is still alive despite everything.

That said..... I'm also kind of a fan of 'this bitch never stays dead so even in scenarios where Bruce did kill him, or at least let him die, he keeps coming back somehow' which would then be fun for Jason to grapple with on the fact of yes Bruce did kill The Joker but the fucker's still kicking.

wait wait wait hold on. think about carries reaction 2 actually meeting jason in the flesh. after her only context for who he is being the memorial and "ill never forget about what happened to jason. he was a good soldier. he honoured me." and carries thinking in her head "wow this kid must've been the shit." and then meeting him face 2 face and just being like "seriously? this guy's a wimp."

Carrie's first introduction to the concept of Jason (at least in the main threadverse universe) is something I have actually written, it's in chapter 16 of Everybody's Gonna Hear Me Out (which. guys I promise I'm working on getting new chapters out. They're all written my editor just has finals and no spare time) and the conversation basically goes

Tim: I mean legally I have four siblings but like. Jason doesn't count.

Carrie: I mean yeah, he's dead

They then get derailed by Tim finding out about the whole "oh yeah Dick Grayson? He became the Joker" thing, which is more interesting.

Their first face to face meeting has not been written but it was probably extremely awkward lol. Jason shows up ready to be civilized and like try to make amends with his family and the door gets answered by some redheaded kid that he swears didn't live there last week and she's just like "hey guys there's a failed criminal on the front porch. Should I get rid of him?" like??? Jason doesn't know what to make of her.

Actual comics canon-wise though? That would be so much funnier. Jason opens his mouth and gets hit with a "skill issue" from Carrie. Mans cannot breathe without getting ragged on by a 13 year old whose main weapon is a slingshot.

i recently imagined Owen (without his knowledge) being immortal a la Old Guard/Jack Harkness etc. how do you think Everything that's Wrong with him would be affected once he wakes after having been shot in the head by Curt? like sure, realising that Curt's love for him wasn't enough for Curt to stay or look for him is one thing. but him realising that Curt is fully capable of killing him while he thought himself the Joker to Curt's Batman, not to mention his eternal hesitation to kill Curt... that would destroy him on an entirely new level, i think.

i think he'd be completely just like. broken for a while trying to process everything, and then he'd go back to his normal regular misery x100

I imagine him as a character who looks at himself more like a means to an end than a person. That's why spying and then chimera were so important to him. His only purpose is to work for a greater goal, because he can and others can't (in both like a god complex and a dog way. if that makes sense) so in my interpretation of his character and curtwen the breaking of that pattern is what's so fascinating. Instead of having a greater goal for owen to completely dedicate his life to, it's suddenly a person.

He developed this deep, all-consuming love for curt, and honestly believed curt felt at least similar. When in reality curt was codependent on owen yes, but he generally felt a normal human amount of love, that is again, relatively normal. (Which is what owen realized after the fall.) Still, this was the time in his life when owen felt the most human. People aren't like long term goals such as "saving the world" they constantly give back in small ways, and ground you, and after all we are social creatures who need connection. But unlike ambitions, people can disappoint you in completely new ways every day.

So after the fall, owen's only option was to go back to normal. Find his ambition and give himself over to the greater goal. But in all that time he couldn't quite get rid of curt, or his remaining feelings for him whether that's hate or love. So owen, after finally feeling happy and like his feelings were reciprocated by someone for the first time, got everything taken away from him and had to rebuild from scratch. cue being way more miserable than in the pre-curt era.

This is probably the cycle that would repeat again. Owen thinks curt loves him more than he actually does -> owen is let down by curt -> owen stops looking for happiness altogether and goes back to being a tool for a better future -> miserable because he gave up on happiness

Like obviously if we mean immortal immortal, that's probably something that owen would thrive in, in the long run. i'm talking world's most productive vampire. knows all languages, connections everywhere, definitely off the hinges. But for the time after curt shoots him yeah. probably in a mood where he kills people for breathing too loud, but internally (and sometimes externally) cries himself to sleep every night

I was looking through tkk blogs to see what they were saying about Jimin’s death threats and their role in it—unsurprisingly nothing, and I saw you in the replies and just wanted to say, they don’t have receipts because they don’t exist. Their entire ship is built on slow-mo edits and conspiracy theories.

I do wish some jkkrs would realize they’re starting to think and move like the cult. That blog seemed more rational and reasonable than I’ve seen a tkkr be before, and harassing them isn’t doing anyone any favors. No jkkr is ever going to convince a tkkr of anything in the same way that a tkkr can’t convert a jkkr. That blog at least thinks jk and jm are friends… and wow the bar is on the floor isn’t it? Anon, I disagree. If a tkkr showed me legit questionable moments I would listen. If we didn't have HD photos of the Taennie Paris drama I would listen. But as it stands everything they say makes tkk real can be found with V and the wooga squad, can be found with V and other members, with JK and other members. There is not one single "sus" tkk thing that applies to only them.

So yeah, a tkkr would never make me stop believing in Jikook... but Jikook would make me stop believing in Jikook. What happened with V is NEVER going to happen with Jikook. There is not leaked photos or videos (legit ones) that exist of Jimin and JK with other men or women. I personally don't think they have ever broken up so I believe this to be fact. From 2013 when we met them till now November 2023, there is nothing of substance out there that suggests Jimin or JK are or have ever been with other people.

Idk about the future but now, in this moment, I can confidently say this.

But,

If in future they broke up and stopped... well Jikooking, I guarantee you Jikookers would stop "shipping" them. Me included. We don't support Jikook to be stubborn. We believe in them because they remind us of our own rlships or rlships of people we know about.

Here's the fascinating thing about this providing context to Gotham War and vice versa: Bruce says it's just him, that he's in control, but we see that he's an unreliable narrator, that Zur-En-Arrh has far more control than he realizes. There's a reason the opening comics for Gotham War took pains to show us Zur rattling at the cages of Bruce's mind and made sure to thread his commentary all through the event--he had way more influence than Bruce realized. To the point that, when Joker calls to Zur to come out and play, Zur can step easily into his body, that's how close to the surface he was. Which is now being paired with just about the only Joker story I've ever been vaguely interested in because ohhhhh yeah this is the perfect time for a story because this is everything the Joker has ever wanted from Batman--get rid of the riff raff that was distracting you, making you care about things outside of our little game! No more people you love to take you away from our little cat and mouse game! Now all that's left are Joker and "Batman", the most pure form of Batman in Joker's eyes, nobody else will have to matter now, now Batman will no longer hold himself back when it comes to really trying to obsess over and kill the Joker! All right, Zdarsky, I still don't like grimdark loner Batman or Joker-centric stories, both usually are some of my least favorite things, but you have my attention, show me just how rough "Mindbomb" is going to get, because you've clearly been tying this back to a dozen different things and I'll even check "The Knight" out of the library since you were bringing back characters from that series, too. (I think that's what gets me about Zdarsky's writing--for all that Gotham War ramped up and ended way too fast--but I strongly suspect that was editorial trying to make it an Event rather than what was supposed to be a story as part of the ongoings--he has tied in a LOT of other comics for context, which makes me feel like this wasn't just a sudden snap, but that Zdarsky is relying on us to be familiar with just how much shit the characters have been through and why they're at a breaking point now. And I want more "this comic will give context to this other comic" in DC, so I'm cautiously going to give this one a chance!)

Honestly I’m kind of surprised I managed to fit punk hazard in just two posts, but considering how much I like this arc this isn’t the last time I’ll be talking about it lmao

While overall Punk Hazard is a pretty lighthearted arc, there are two things that make parts of it genuinely hard to get through. The first one being the reveal of what’s actually happening with the children. We already know that Caesar is a terrible person, but when you read that these children have been conditioned to get addicted to drugs, it’s shocking, and Oda doesn’t shy away from portraying just how terrifying and fucked up this situation is. This storyline is an incredibly heavy one, and I think that the way Chopper is written during it genuinely made me like him even more

On the other side of things, we find out at least a little bit more about what Law is doing here, as well get more of Caesar being. Caesar. We hear the name Joker for the first time and oh will that lead to great reveals later. A really good set up for everyone involved

Remember how I said that Law keeps being mysterious? Yeah that doesn’t last too long. We for now find out that he’s trying to overthrow Kaido and for that he needs an alliance with Luffy. Obviously, that’s not all that there is to it, but we’ll find that out in Dressrosa. The alliance itself IMMEDIATELY turns into one of the biggest comedic highlights in all of One Piece to me and many others, as Law’s mysterious aura completely disappears because no matter how serious he tries to be, he has now become one of Luffy’s friends, whether he likes it or not

I’ve mentioned before that I really really like Caesar as a character, and everything surrounding his broadcast to the underworld is a testament to that, because again, what he’s doing is absolutely despicable, but also, he’s so incredibly funny it’s a joy whenever he does anything. Like. He named his weapon of mass destruction Smiley. It looks like an axolotl. He cries when he sees him, what more could you want from a villain, not every single one has to be serio

And on the topic of villains, cause I got a lot to say! The build up to Doflamingo’s reintroduction is great, and the way he takes up almost two whole pages is just good panelling. Oda’s clearly started leaning more into his menacing side in post timeskip, and as much as I love the silly rendition of Doffy that we see pre timeskip, for everything in Dressrosa to hit as well as it does he has to be terrifying. And he is. Vergo certainly isn’t the most important character ever, and once Law gets his heart back he gets rid of him with no problem, but I did enjoy him for the short time he was there and he sets up the fact that while Law knows Doflamingo, he doesn’t know as much about him as he thinks

And finally: Monet. I said in my last Punk Hazard post that I believe she shares the main antagonist of the arc status along with Caesar. She’s just as much of a threat as him, and she’s even closer with the main villain of the saga than him. And that’s the thing. Monet is our first true look at a member of the Donquixote family. She is also the first of many to fully be ready to sacrifice herself for Doflamingo’s sake. The man saved her and her sister and took them in, of course she cares about him. The self sacrificial mindsets of the Donquixote Family is something I’m going to touch upon more during Dressrosa, but Monet shows that the straw hats aren’t the only ones who truly devoted themselves to their captain, with the difference that their crew is built upon mutual love and care, while the Donquixote Pirates, no matter how much Doflamingo cares about them, and he certainly does, will always take second place behind his own self, again, more about that during Dressrosa. Monet herself is such a good character, and I think that one day maybe I’ll make an entire post dedicated to her, her death is also the second thing that makes it hard to get through this arc for me

A lot more shenanigans happen, leaving the arc off on a more positive note, but not before Doflamingo himself arrives on Punk Hazard to clean up the whole mess, and we get one of the best hooks for the next arc: Law giving him an ultimatum, either he forfeits his warlord status or he’s never getting Caesar back, and considering the fact the the SMILE trade with Kaido is what’s keeping him on the man’s good side, oh is this a great way to leave the reader questioning for what’s to come

Especially since Doffy’s first reaction to this will be to absolutely wreck the shit out of Smoker and his men, poor guys

In this particular panel i don't truly feel like Bruce is trying to tell the Joker to kill his family, but in a way I do believe he's conflicted with his feelings and wants, and i certainly see it that that he misses the way things were. Batman does work better alone to me, since he does not have to worry about his allies. The robin's he bring out with him on patrol. He's got to make sure he  protects them, and that can be very stressing. Which can cause Bruce to get distracted. It causes him to slack up, and become stressed, so he's not exactly the best at what he does. This is how the Joker views it. Though Bruce does take a huge chance showing up, and letting the Joker know he has his card, especially as Bruce Wayne. He takes that chance anyways, risking his identity and his own family he's suppose to keep safe, and you can't tell me Bruce knew the Joker wasn't going to care, because he's stated in the end of death of the family that he knew then, so he wasn't sure if the Joker would acknowledge him. I don't think this is the only reason why the Joker decided to get rid of batman's family. There's a lot of reasons. Jealously, hate. i think the other reason was he wanted to make Batman like he was before. He wanted Batman to slip back into his stoic self, and be better than he is. The Joker really believes he's helping the Batman, and he really is though, but I do think there's jealously in entangled in the comic of death of the family. The Joker never just goes out and murder Bruce's whole family. He never killed Alfred once. He kidnapped him before. The Joker shot Barbara in the back, but didn't kill her.  Jason Todd he murdered. Though this particular moment. I think the joker does decides to eliminates Batman problems, or the Joker believes that what he wants. This is how the joker views the Batman's family as burdens. He sees them as destroying Batman, and not helping him at all. though he was just beginning his career and Alfred and barbs and dick was just in the picture. I do believe that the Joker waited for the right time to strike when his family grew, but yeah, The Joker definitely saw the bat family as a weakness, which is mention in the Arkham games, and some comics too.

In death of the family. The joker is trying to Also remind Bruce of the good old days the two of them shared, when he had no worries about other lives. It's the reason he shows him old memories of them, and maybe deep down Bruce actually does miss it. He tells Harley to also dress up as the Red hood. He wants Bruce to go back to where he was. Where it all started. He wants him to go back through the steps again to live them over. He wants him to be strong, and invincible. He wants him to be the man he fell in love with. He wants their game back. The days it was mostly just him and Batman. The days where it was a game for them, almost at least that's how he views it. The Joker does this in the wrong way of course, but the Joker resorts to violence, and expects that to solve everything, because Batman and Joker relationship is mostly based off of violence. The Joker does love Batman in his own twisted way of course, and i do think the Joker knew what he was doing when he was telling batman's family "he wants you dead. He leaves the door unlock for me to kill you all. He loves me more than you" I believe the Joker knew Batman was going to escape. It's the only reason I think he kept pressing theses things to his family, and telling them pretty harsh things. He was separating them without having to even kill them. Though it might be hard to believe. He could have just killed them.

Yes, it might be hard to believe, but the Joker has set up almost impossible death traps for Batman, and expected him to escape. The Joker does belive that Batman will always win, because that's how it goes right ? That's the reason he go to other superheroes to win sometimes. Though the Joker sees Batman as this invincible man. He's really not. It's also shown in going sane how the Joker views their relationship. He immediately kicks batman and tries everything to wake him up, because the Joker can't believe he's dead, so he continue to shout "get up." He even thinks Batman is pretending. The Joker does show happiness when Batman is dead, but for me i see it as  i am finally winning. He's not thinking about Batman's death right now. He's happy he's won. He finally killed the Batman, and that's one of his goals, but he's not thinking at the moment that he's really gone, and you got to understand that the Joker is insane, so the way he views things. It might be a lot different to us, as soon as he throws him into the water. There's nothing but sadness and misery on his face. He becomes depress, there's lot of indents we see the Joker killed the  Batman, but immediately becomes sad and regret that he's done it. but the overwhelming happiness he gets, I believe because he's finally won. He killed Batman, but then he remembers that he's really gone now.

Batman chooses his family over the Joker. This hurts the Joker deeply The Joker believe he's giving Batman what he wanted. What he needs to become the man he used to be, and now he's still choosing his family. The Joker shows signs of jealously when Bruce said "they make me stronger" Yes, the Batman probably do believe his family makes him stronger. I mean can they? Yes, it's very possible, but the Joker refuse to believe that. There was know need for Batman to worry about the Joker, because he knew the joker was still alive when he fell off the cliff. Batman knows the Joker loves him. He just try to ignore it.  His eyes only dilate the slightest when he's around Batman. Which tells me he's only in love with Batman. The Joker upright admits he's in love with batman in death of the family as well. The whole concept of this comic was for the Joker to help batman become good at what he was at before, and to remind Batman of  the Joker and him. Though this is a theory. I do believe the Joker had everything planned out. Let's move on to Batman only deserves the best. The Joker does think very highly of Batman. The joker isn't tying to hurt Batman when he's sending him up against all theses soldiers. He's tying to get him back. He's tying to make him strong again, and he believes that  Batman is capable of doing just that. He just need to be reminded why The Joker fell in love with him, and Batman does win. This does tell me that the Joker does in fact makes Batman stronger than his family. It's something Bruce won't admit.

The Joker continues to show Batman memories of them, and people that's even dressed up as him and Batman dancing. It really  gives me a clear picture of what the Joker is trying to accomplished here. He's tying to make him strong again, and he wants to fix their relationship also. He's tying to remind him of their relationship, while he's trying to make him the best hero too. He asking Batman is it possible for us to go back to theses days. All I have to do is get rid of your family. I don't have to kill them, and we can have this again. You don't have to be stress. You don't have to worry if something bad is going to happen to your family. You don't have to be so distracted with your family that your abandoning the Batman. That you're abandoning our relationship. I truly believe that the Joker did just plan to get rid of Batman's family, but without killing them. simply because he tells Batman aren't you  going to your family, so the Joker did his work already. Batman can go save his family, because the Joker separated them already. He's accomplished what he's wanted, though the ending wasn't what the Joker foresaw. He did ruin their relationship with Batman, but think about it guys when you're not around your family. It's much easier not to  be so worried about them, unless you know something happening to them, but anyways it's just a theory.

Ok I just finished reading the Absolute Batman online and after reading that I got a bit of an idea on how Dick and Jason can be introduced to the story

So we know that the absolute universe is basically taking the most important thing to a character or switching places like the joker and Bruce cause he is obviously rich (cause who else can buy their own personal helicopter). So what if we switch Dick and Jason's places?

So we know that Bruce lives in crime ally with his mom (a universe where at least one parent of his is alive unbelievable) and friends, so what if one night when he's like a year or two into the batman thing he goes fighting whoever while a young boy no older then 10 stealing the motherfucking wheels of his motorcycle and what if it was in the same zoo that he's dad died so you know it goes as usual batman finds the tires missing, he full on belly laughs cus those were some high grade tires or something and now they gone, Jason goes to back to get the tires batsy sees him blah blah blah now suddenly he's got a kid and he absolutely has not idea how to raise him

Now if mama Martha is still alive after a year she's got some questions to say to her son cause why is there a random kid in their house?? Where are his parents?? Of course she's not mad she's just worried then Jason explains his entire situation and she's like ok you can stay her and all and now she helps Bruce raise her new grandson.

He also doesn't become Robin cus i don't think this batman wants a kid running around in gotham, instead he raises him as a normal kid to the best of his abilities and Jason's living his best life he's got a loving dad and grandma, a roof over his head, food, and he gets to go to school so like cool😃😃 and generally it's all fluff

Course I still want him to die and it's all the same except this time he's not Robin and instead of the joker killing him its members the court of owls and you know he dies Bruce was to late. But I want it to be more angst cus that was a boy not a hero or sidekick or anything it was a little boy who died in his father's arms hearing him cry out his name

Now on to Dick! He's backstory is the same but Bruce couldn't come to the circus so he wasn't adopted and after his parents death he became a talon turning him into the court's newst weapon (Dick hates the court of owls for what they've turned him into)(he just wanted to be the greatest acrobat in he world).

Now one day he was ordered to kill a young boy nearly the same age as him (he felt a shiver down his spine with how similar they look) cus he's dad was causing the court some trouble and they needed to get rid of him but they were going to mentally destroy him first and ok he can do that so he stalks the two for a few months waiting for the right moment to strike (seeing these two interact with each other makes him miss them, he wonders if they'd still love him for the things he's committed)

After sometime he's got the kid and the other talons are torturing him and he's off to the side watching this watching this bull headed, stubborn kid bite, kick, and scream at the members cause the kid wasn't gonna go down without a fight and saying that his dad is gonna beat their asses while being whipped and... he didn't really know how to feel about it cause it was fun seeing the kid fight back but he knew the outcome, he knew the kid ain't gonna live and his dad's not gonna be fast enough still he felt kinda bad seeing the man cry out his son's name (he remembers it so vividly his mom calling out his name as they plummeted to their deaths the horror in their eyes a look he can see in his nightmares)

And yeah that's all!! I still have an idea on how Dick become Bruce's Robin since Jason was his son not Robin but I'ma explain that in the next post ✌️ (also sorry about my english, still have a hard time forming understandable sentences)

Do you have any HCs for how Archer interacts with the other execs?

I am of deep belief that those four really get along with each other and are quite a nice quartet, supportive of each other, surprisingly so for four of mobsters. Or maybe not so surprisingly?

Well, first thing is that all of them are united by their trust and adoration towards Giovanni, but there is plenty of yet unexplored ground in terms of what they think about each other.

In Pokemas, Ariana is the only one that mentions Archer and she claims to "allow" Archer to take the number two spot. So yeah, she's envious as heck, which tbh no wonder. Interestingly though I don't think before Pokemas it was ever said if they are equals but I liked the thought that they had the same level in organisation. Well. It kinda of broke a bit my perception of them as as much as I like her being envious, I want to think there a certain level of understanding between her and Archer, sharing same (or at least similar) job and difficulties.

As much as Ariana would want to surpass him, I don't think she would do anything malicious to Archer. It could be that she genuinely likes him (I see this one mostly platonically, even if they cough shared the Boss) or finds value in his leadership and would consider it damaging to TR if she were to get rid of him through more nefarious means... Or she can't resort to such means. After all, I don't think Boss would approve.

Now, as I look through lines, I also noticed that she does call Archer "interim boss" in HGSS, which would indeed hint at him being chosen/taking over and her allowing that. Respect? Yeah, I think that's also here. Now that I ponder on that, maybe they are Rivals? That actually would make a lot of sense.

Proton is a bit harder for me to consider. I once saw a nice hc that it could be Archer that recruited him and he is more eager to follow him in the first place, but at the same time if you read more into his dialogue snippets, he is very dedicated to Giovanni, to the point of proclaiming (in Pokemas) that he would follow Giovanni anyway, TR or no TR.

So, well. Considering that Proton is very eager to be perceived as cruel and untouchable, I would say his sense of loyalty mostly stems from TR providing him space to do whatever he wants and feeling useful for that. Tbh I kind of ignore Pokemas in this regard, because I don't really see him as a follower? I mean, yeah, he could respect Giovanni for what he is and represents, but it just matches better to him if he follows those that allow him to use what he can do to have a purpose aside from senseless violence. And I think he and Archer could make quite a nice combo, as Archer, first or second, could provide him that purpose.

But... OK, OOC Perelka moment coming up but I genuinely struggle to see them as a ship. As in, I can see why and how people would ship that, but personally that never activated my neurons much (feel free to prove me wrong :P) and I would angle towards more platonic stuff. Understanding of limits they would go for to achieve goals always being a neat start. Does it make sense? I am not sure.

Petrel is... kind of tricky. He is in TR but at the same time he isn't like. Entirely Evil. Or is he? He seems to lack Archer's coldness, Ariana's glee or Proton's dedication for evil, and yet. I think it's easy though to go for him as a joker and kind of a guy that would break the atmosphere, if that makes sense, a more sociable person--but I think it would clash a bit with Archer's professionalism. Archer would appreciate the amicality but he'd keep at least an elbow distance, partially for said professionalism and partially because Petrel is tricky and I have no doubts that he is very much a trickster. Will make you feel better in his presence, would make you trust him, would deceive you and manipulate you and you'd have no idea. That's kind of scary when you think about it.

That being said, he could use those social skills for good and be the glue sticking the whole group together. He seems like a guy that would don drag anyway, tbh he gives me heavy cisn't vibes. But that's a side note.

On a final note, they are coworkers, but I would assume closer ones than usual. There isn't much more than four of them that would understand what they go through during their job, so there is no-one else to share it with but the other three. I once saw a fantastic comic that showed four going drinking after job, salary man style. It was amazing, and I think that's how they roll.

I've been hearing that Lily is extremely insecure abt the way she looks, and that I prob can't imagine how intimidating it is to approach somebody as handsome as me,

The Joker...

In photoshoots and in the movies she sticks her chin out CONSTANTLY and, very clearly, is caked in make-up or has her hair done in ways to make her head look a different shape. One glance at the photos they use for her profiles and you can see they've upped the contrast and exposure and whatnot to achieve specific effects. I've heard she wants to know what's wrong with her legs specifically, or maybe wants to know why she gets so "oddly skinny" in general. Well okay, I like reminding the crackers etc that many kinds of folk exist so here ya go:

I want to remind her that I'm from the Philippines and we're extremely mixed o'er there! Even just amongst them I've been exposed to many different "phenotypes" lmao since birth! After that I lived in Singapore as a toddler, with various kinds of Chinese, Malaysians, and Indians, and after that I literally lived in "the ghetto" in Stamford, CT. It was just downhill from there...

I understand, however, that she grew up wealthy in England and the United States, the worst places on Earth. They might've been attacking her for her looks forever. Who knows if she had a chance to spend time with normal, diverse folk, such as me!

I mean, c'mon, when her face is more relaxed she just looks like some kinda Indian or something, I dunno. I hope I don't have to just be encouraging her or reassuring those surrounding us for years that I don't mind how she looks. It gets exasperating. C'mon, yanks, jeez, just stfu. "Here. This is a pic of what she actually looks like. I'm so sorry. Please buy some online prostitutes."

Now what 'bout her skinny limbs and why would she look like this!?

Well, we KNOW that, just like me, Lily is related to The Joker (for her, prob The Joker that F'ed Audrey Hepburn in the 40's or whatever,) and that The Jokers, at least in modern times, come from The Philippines. We KNOW that in the United States folk get extremely inbred. We KNOW that Pilipinos have diverse ancestry. Sometimes when you inbreed a population enough, "random" partsa that populations' ancestry might start shewing itself, kinda like how some "rednecks" in the United States began looking like Genghis Khan after some time. We KNOW that they may have been selecting for "model looks" in that family as well, and maybe they went overboard with the skinniness, who knows lmao, I have no idea, who cares.

The thing is even if her body type counted as a disability we KNOW that we live in a society. Now the only thing we have to do is get rid of the folk who think that every man is an island. It is okay to ask for help, Lily. It is okay to be codependent. Besides, now that I've studied what you look like I KNOW that that was you I saw crossing Main Street last year when you had less weight on you. You seem to know how to walk with those skinny legs, I dunno, looked natural to me but yeah, I can see why folk would give you a difficult time abt it. No idea why you don't walk like that more often with that slouch and the abdomen sticking out or whatever.
