fall is here. It's time to lock in. weight loss edition. final update.
Out of all my posts on here, this has gotten the most attention, and I can tell it's probably because it touched on a really sensitive and very popular topic: weight loss. Unfortunately or fortunately, I didn't complete the challenge, mainly because I didn't have a strong enough mentality to complete the challenge. I also fell sick mentally and physically, and well, most of the habits were kind of unattainable, especially in my environment.
Well, here is everything I learnt from this challenge and how I'll be applying these lessons to my daily life.
calorie counting x eating 1200 cals every day
First off, I'd like to say calorie counting works short-term, not long-term, as after a while I started hyper-fixating on food, and that just led me to eat more because I was too hungry and led me to be ok with eating too much unhealthy food just because there were fewer calories, so I learned volume eating, eating intuitively, and eating at the right time. I'm going to start eating at the right time to not spike my glucose levels and to also choose the healthier option when I can. I understand it is ok to have a snack when I feel like it.
overexercising x movement cycle /3
I found that it was hard to keep up with stretching, working out, and working. Also, from now on, I'll at least try to do 2 out of the 3; maybe 1 day I'll work out and stretch another walk and workout, After some reflection, I want my movement to be versatile and different Maybe I'll try some sports and the likes.

TBH, this challenge was a good experience, and I learnt a lot. Now I realize how much I want more of a wellness lifestyle and to feel good in my body, not just to lose weight; I also want to enjoy the journey and my life all in all. and the drinking water thing, I still don't know the benefits It's just a lot of pee, but I'll continue to do that. I actually like drinking the water.
PS The weight scale broke during this challenge, and I don't know my weight at the moment, but it actually helped, and I'm not obsessed with my weight as much. So yh tis all love you all.

Recent twitter discourse on choice feminism/liberal feminism has made me realize that choice feminism is popular because it asks nothing of you. It doesn’t ask that you question anything, instead, it gives people a convenient escape hatch they can turn to whenever they feel uncomfortable. Choice feminism is a comfort that lets you push the harsh realities of patriarchal conditioning out of your mind. It doesn’t challenge you, or hurt your feelings, or force you to think deeply about the world around you. It just lets you feel content in your own ignorance.

So I know ur a Sofia and Rafe shipper so can I pick your brain on something?
Personally I can’t get behind Sofia and Rafe, not bc of her being a Pogue or whatever everyone else says. But it’s the fact Rafe killed someone and everything else he did after.
And I know there’s the whole ‘Sofia makes him better/good’ debate but I feel like it comes off as her not knowing the whole story and seeing him as the victim.
(Like that line where she’s like you’re not like the others or whatever she said, like I legit said no he’s worse when watching the scene 😂)
Because personally if I found out my bf killed a cop then proceeded to let someone else the blame for it. AND ALSO tried to drown his own sister. I would ask for a restraining order and move countries.
But anyway, I bring this to you to get your opinion of it.

I suppose that’s true. He’s done an immoral thing and deserves punishment, not redemption through Sofia. But I don’t really care. That element of deceit in their relationship just makes in more interesting to me imo.

I don’t really vibe with the take that she “changed” or “fixed” him and made him better. She didn’t actively do anything to alter his behaviour that we see. Sofia didn’t think there was anything to fix. We don’t see her acknowledge the rumours about him nor do we see him treat her in a way that conveys his “bad” side. I think what Sofia’s done is shown Rafe unconditional kindness, something that he’s never experienced before. That allowed him to just be better. Sofia let him heal.
Imo Rafe’s a very reactive person (despite him saying he’s proactive [I repeat– everything he says is a contradiction guys!]). He responds to the way people treat him, or the way people nudge him into an action. Sofia treating him nicely and just in general being a very sweet girl, meant it elicited a similar response. Where he in turn treated her with kindness and sweetness and love.
And you’re right. She doesn’t know the whole story. Rafe’s probably painted himself as the victim. She wants to believe him. And he wants her to love him. They’re both happy with that deceit if it means they can exist in their little bubble.

I mean he wasn’t like the others. I think people need to consider Sofia’s perspective a bit more. Ik it isn’t really shown to us, but if you just empathise a bit with her maybe then the information wouldn’t need to be spelled out.
She’s a bartender. A pogue. Rafe knew that yet he still invited her to the party. He slept with her. He treated her nicely and saw her as an option. We can assume from the line “you’re not like everyone else at the club with their golf shoes and shiny watches” that class and status is important. They look down on her. Yet Rafe looked past those things and asked her to be the girl on his arm at the party. Yeah he is worse. We’ve seen him be worse. He’s materialistic, he’s classist, he’s abusive, he’s a dick. But he didn’t show any of that to Sofia. To her, it seemed like he disregarded class and status for her. So yeah, the line “you’re different– I like that” makes sense, from Sofia’s point of view.
It’s meant to be ironic. He’s not different. He is worse. But imo, that scene was there to show Rafe he can be different. He has the capacity for good. Back to the point of him being reactive—someone seeing that goodness made him react and save Ward.
“You’ll do the right thing, I know you will”— Sofia doesn’t actively convince him to do the right thing (ergo she “fixes” him). Her belief was enough for him to fix himself (or at least fix his mistakes).

Well she doesn’t know this😭we’ll see if she finds out.
Idk, I get a lot of people trying to get me to justify and defend rafia as if I paint them as being 100% healthy and perfect for each other. I don’t think they are. I think what makes them work is their codependency. Which is not healthy. But their dynamic interests me and the scenes we get with them are compelling. You don’t have to think so, but I do.

100 dop: days 3-6



lumping a few days together due to health issues that have really limited me the past week or so :(
tasks completed:
submitted scholarship applications!
set up a few new pages on notion for personal and work use
attended admitted students day for vet school this weekend!
completed 2 loads of laundry (a task i really hate)
daily goals:
30 mins exercise daily (completed on 2 of 4 days)
read something (completed on 3 of 4 days)
add to gratitude journal (4 of 4 days)
15 mindful minutes outdoors (4 of 4 days)
tasks for tomorrow / rest of the week:
work on my etsy shop
clean up the apartment
do the dishes
buy new kitty litter and start the transition process (switching to paper litter due to the dust irritating his lungs :/)
donate old clothes / declutter closet
schedule doctor's appointments

I'm a Turbo lover, yes...
But Ralph is my babygirl... Poor guy deserved so much better pre-movie. He's such a genuine sweetheart who's down-to-earth, compassionate and a gentle giant despite his circumstances. I just... gahhhh, I wanna give him a kiss on the cheek and a freshly made pie.
Thinking about what those 30 years must've been like for him hurts my heart. Do you think he tried to connect with the Nicelanders and Felix but had his attempts ignored? Or did something go wrong and they never gave him another chance? ;-;
And the desperation in his voice when he crash-landed in Sugar Rush and saw his medal stuck in the tree? The way he spoke to Tapper and said so wholeheartedly that he can't spend another 30 years alone? Breaks my heart, man...
Gah, and considering how Tamora's backstory affects her... Idk, the fact that it's programmed that Ralph used to have a comfortable home and had that taken away from him? Does he think back to those coded memories when he didn't sleep in the dump? Even though he knows those memories aren't "real" in a sense, does that really matter in the grand sense of things? MAN.
Also, his dynamic with Vanellope makes me wanna cry, it's so wholesome and makes me think of my relationship with one of my best internet friends, who I see as a father figure. He cares about her so much and though he fell for what King Candy/Turbo tried selling him, it was purely out of concern for Vanellope.
I could honesly go on and on and on, haha-
So yes, I'm a Turbo lover.
But I'm a Ralph lover, sympathiser and appreciator.
I want him so bad I mean what, who said that.

How to use time efficiently with many interests and work commitments.

Being productive, making the most of the 24 hours of our day and getting a high ROI back is your goal, but your daily schedule and the endless appointments that you have make you too tired to get work done, let you feel like you have no free time, no time to even study, and you have to spend countless all nighters to get your work done questioning yourself why you chose so many activities/ extracurricular's etc. in the first place and all the free time you have your essentially doomscrolying it away making you more unmotivated.
This is a guide on how you can use your time efficiently and get a huge ROI back without feeling exhausted/tired and finding enough time to study thoroughly, getting your work done without loosing your passion for other things and doing your hobbies.
So the first thing you have to do is to go to a regular week and observe when you have free time, when you are binge-watching shows, doomscroll or when you are so unmotivated that you don't want to do your work, study, do your homework etc. and also what tasks do you have when you go to work/school when you come back, clubs meetings etc. So everything you do regularly in the week
Lastly in this week you have to identify a Prime time where you are the most productive so you can plan your tasks around it.
A list can look like this:
Observation
Monday: Going home from work/school at 16:30 - one hour free time - until I have to go to extracurriculars/ course etc.
Tuesday
Wednesday
….
Prime time: Weekdays 10-12pm Weekend 9-12am

So, after you got the times where you are doing nothing/ wasting your time you have to start listing all the tasks and events you have, then categorize them based on importance and urgency.
For this you can use the Eisenhower-matrix
where you organize your work and projects into four categories: Important and Urgent, Important but Not Urgent, Urgent but Not Important, Not Urgent and Not Important.
The Eisenhower matrix, also known as the Urgent-Important matrix, is a time management strategy that helps you prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
The matrix has 4 quadrants or sections:
Important and Urgent: These tasks need immediate attention.
Important but not urgent: These are high priority items.
Urgent but not important: These are things that are time-sensitive but can often be delegated.
Not urgent and not important: These are activities that can either be delayed or removed from the list entirely.

Planning your week in a strategic way
First you should Collect your observations in a 24 hours weekly planner like this and highlight the free time zones you have and also plan your regular sleeping time mine is from 10 to 5:30 am

How to fill the free-spots:
Start by allocating time for high-priority tasks, then move on to lower priority ones, and finally use remaining time for recreation.
Place the high priority task in the (near the) prime time
If there are regular recurring tasks like homework hobbies etc. you should put it in a designated time slot
Try to avoid overworking yourself and prioritize your mental health.
Remember to take breaks in between tasks and give yourself a reward after completing something difficult or time consuming.
It's basically time blocking which is a method where you divide and schedule your day into focused intervals with no distractions
How to do the most in the weekend
After such a full week doing all your tasks you're obviously going to be tired and unmotivated to do anything. But the workload isn't going to get smaller but bigger in the next week, so you have to at least get something done. But do not force yourself to be 100% productive in the weekend because we all need some rest and constantly overworking yourself is unhealthy and also doesn't give you a good ROI in the long run.
Here are some methods that I've tried categorized in three levels: high; medium and low level depending on the mood you're in.
High level methods
The first method I suggest you to do is a method that is called Batch Tasking by Grouping
With this technique, you group similar tasks together and complete them in batches.
For example, you can have a morning batch of 'work-related tasks', an afternoon batch of 'personal tasks', and an evening batch of 'leisure tasks'.
This method can be useful for individuals who are motivated by completing multiple similar tasks at the same time, and it helps to avoid task switching and maintain a clear sense of purpose in your workflow.
The second method is the the "Marathon Mindset" technique
It's a method where you set a specific amount of time, say 3-4 hours, to focus intensely on completing your tasks. During this time, you can take short breaks (around 10 minutes) to prevent burnout, but the focus is on maintaining a steady work rate for the entire duration.
This technique can help you complete difficult tasks, and it's excellent for individuals who get into a 'flow' state when working on a project.
Medium level methods:
time boxing
This involves setting a timer for a specific amount of work, and once the timer goes off, you move onto the next task, no matter how much work was done. This helps create a sense of urgency and focus.
Time Boxing and Activity Swapping technique
Here, you set a short amount of time, say 15 minutes, for each task you want to complete. Once the timer goes off, you take a 5 minute break before moving onto the next activity.
But here's where it gets different: Each time you finish a task, you swap to a completely different activity than the last one. For example, after writing an email, you could do some calisthenics, then after that some cleaning, and so on.
This technique is great for individuals who struggle with task boredom
Low level methods
Focus on your "1 Thing"
it means working on the most important task each day, the "one thing" that'll move you closer to your goals. Once you've completed that 'One Thing' you can move onto the next.
This technique will help you to avoid multitasking and stay motivated, focusing your energies on completing the most crucial tasks first
Focus Sprint and Rest
Here, you work in intense 15-minute sprints, followed by a short 5 minute break. You repeat the routine 2-4 times before taking a longer break of around 15-30 minutes.
You can alternate between tasks or stay focused on one, depending on your preferences. This method is great for individuals who prefer shorter bursts of intense work, with short but regular breaks for a quick boost in energy.
Priority Power Hour
Using this technique, you dedicate a specific time of day, say 1 hour, to working on your most important and difficult tasks. Optimally this should be your power hour During this power hour, you commit to nothing else except completing these high-priority tasks.
The rest of your day can be spent doing less important tasks or working on other passions. The key benefit of this technique is that it allows you to stay focused and productive during your most efficient times of the day, while avoiding burnout.
Some last general tips
First, you should set achievable goals. This means breaking big tasks into small ones. This is very helpful if you have a big project that you have to do because the task load doesn't overwhelm you as much when you break aspects e.g. research as doing the whole project in a couple days and being very stressed.
Then you should limit distractions like your mobile etc. I would pack those things to another room so that they are not in front of your eye which makes you less likely to use them and get distracted. Also you should try to minimize multitasking because it diverts your attention on too many tasks and topics which makes your work imprecise and actually costs more time because you have to get into the thought process of topic 1 again.
Start with the end in mind. Define what you want to achieve during your sessions. Having clear goals helps you stay focused.
It's also important to schedule short breaks in the work session especially if you have many things to do to prevent burnout.
You should also have a monthly overview of important tasks separatly in a calendar
Regularly review your time management strategies and adjust them as needed. What's working? What needs improvement?
Lastly you should give yourself some rewards if you completed a difficult and important task to make you more motivate for more tasks

thinking about how my friend told me today that i picked a “safe” special interest in the netherlands.
#once she explained it it makes sense though#what she meant was its an interest wherein no one has negative preconceived notions about me when they hear about it#like when i was going through my germany phase a lot of people took that the wrong way unfortunately#which you know… it took me going to germany to challenge that two dimensional association too#like i knew obviously about the problematic past of germany but i wasn’t interested in it like that#i just loved the language and culture#and then you look at commmon special interests#harry potter? oh you’re a terf. disney? zionist. star wars? right wing#like yeah while the netherlands is very much problematic and has questionable history regarding colonialism#people aren’t exactly immediately going There#idk im yapping but i am still thinking about it

Double digits! Woo!!
So with yesterday's plan for today didn't work because I forgot I had online work xp today (+ I thought it would be great to have it in notion 🗒 despite never having touched it before and it still even now annoyed me so.... I've got a plan ready for tomorrow tho!)
Today was mildly productive. I didn't really study but I finished my homework and made notes for physics and I even exercised. I'll read 📖 some more tonight then wake up early tomorrow to study.
