047 - cullen
Frederick remains in the corner of the stuck elevator, resting his weight on his right leg—his good side (ambulatorily speaking (aesthetically, he favors his left))—gripping the handrail that wraps around the three walls for further relief.
The other man is distressed. Validly, unpleasantly so. Frederick makes no true effort to soothe him. That would be a waste. The man will be too tired to be scared in a matter of minutes. Frederick can wait it out. Still, an interruption may hasten that process.
Before the man screams again: "Breathe. What you are currently experiencing is a panic attack. Shortness of breath, accelerated heart rate, fear of dying. All symptoms. Lucky for you— us— panic has an incredibly short lifespan. It is an exhaustive feeling. Overly taxing on the human body. You will calm soon, you will have no choice in the matter." He pauses, briefly, musing. "Whether fatigue can be equated to calmness is more of a philosophical discussion. Something we may have ample time for, it seems, given ourrr... predicament."

“Where are you going Dad?” You asked, looking up from your phone. You leaned against the armrest on the couch, your legs spread across the cushions. “To see Bella. She’s back in town.” He said, almost sounding confused in his statement. “Bella’s home? She didn’t call me.” You narrowed your eyebrows, turning off your phone. “I want to go.” You stood up, slipping your feet into your house shoes.
“Dressed like that?” Your dad asked, crossing his arms as he looked at you in your pajamas. “I’m not trying to impress the Cullen’s. I’m trying to interrogate them.” You crossed your arms, taking a second glance at yourself in the reflection of the tv. Unbothered by your sweatpants, tank top and robe. “How did she go from the brink of death, to moving far away to; she’s fine and can stay?” You narrowed your eyebrows. “It makes no sense. Dad, you're a cop! You’re not questioning anything?”
“I don’t know, I’m not questioning it. I’ve gotten… enough answers these last few days.” Your father ran a hand down his face. “What does that mean?”
“Nothing just…” He sighed. “Nothing. If that’s what you’re wearin’, let’s go.” He opened the door, grabbing the keys off the key rack.
You nodded, and headed outside, hearing him close and lock the door behind you. “And Jake...” He added, getting into the driver seat. “Jake? How is he tied into this?” You narrowed your eyebrows, getting into the passenger seat and buckling up.
“Another thing we don’t need to get into.”
“Something we do. Why’re you keeping secrets from me? That was Bella and mom’s thing.” You crossed your arms. “I’m not keeping secrets. I don’t know things.” He pulled out of the driveway and began driving towards Jake's. “Everything that’s going on? I don’t know. Other than Jake is a dog. And not a figurative dog. I mean the kid I’ve seen his entire life turn into a dog.” He said, almost bewildered to be saying it outloud.
“A… dog.” You nodded. “Bella had to have known. What else is going on in this town?” Your dad muttered to himself, parking in Jake’s yard.
You watched as the door swung open and out piled a handful of men. Some you remembered from when Jake brought you over, but after sometime last year you hadn’t gotten an invitation back. You couldn’t help but think it was tied to Bella.
You felt your heart pound as your eyes landed on one of the men, who was staring you down. All noises fell to soft murmurs for a second.
Your eyes continued glued to him as you snapped back into reality by feeling your dads truck move back down the road. Only until his frame was out of view did you turn around to look at Jake. “Start talking. When did you become a dog?” You asked, reminded of your previous mission: to interrogate.
Jake’s eyes shot to your dad. “Look at me.” You stated, grabbing his face to tug it your way. What used to be easy, your hand slipped off his face as his face didn’t move at all. “Do you remember when Cullen left Bella and you came to a bonfire?” He asked you.
“Yeah. Edweird left, you took me to a bonfire because she kept screaming all night and I needed a break and i heard about the legends about wolves and…” You paused. “No way…” you looked down momentarily, before looking back up at him. “The cold ones?” You asked, recalling another conversation you two had. “The Cullen’s.” He answered.
Your dads eyes shifted from the rear view mirror to you as he silently drove. “I just can’t believe it.” You turned back around in your seat, trying to ignore the painful pull in your chest.
“So… why are you coming with us to go see Bella? What aren’t you telling us? She’s not pregnant, is she?” You laughed a little bit, before turning in your seat to look at him again. “Is she?” You repeated.
“No. There’s a daughter. And um… I am her guardian protector.” He cleared his throat. “A daughter? They’ve been married for a month. That’s…” you scoffed, looking out of the window. ”apart of the weird shit you have going on.” You shook your head.
Charlie sighed as he parked the vehicle. “We’re here.” He half chuckled, looking at you. Your eyes met his, noticing his deeper bags under his eyes and stress lines in his middle forehead.
You opened your door and got out. The air felt still, almost scary. You crossed your arms, your hands holding sides of your robe as you walked up the steps to the front door.
“Creepy ass house…” you raised your hand to knock on the door, but stopped as Jacob walked straight in, Charlie following behind him. You sighed and dropped your hand, following behind them.
“Where’s Bella?” Your dad asked Carlisle. You crossed your arms as the man looked at you and your father, before gesturing down the hallway to where she was. “I wasn’t expecting you as well, (Name).” He smiled gently at you. “It’s my twin.” You responded plainly.
You followed your father and Jake.
“Hey.” Bella said. Your face finally softened as you saw her. “Bella. Are you ok?” You quickly cut your father off, moving close to examine her. Your eyebrows quickly knit themselves as you gathered… an overall off vibe from her.
“Never better. Healthy as a horse.” She laughed a little. “You… don’t turn into an animal too, do you?”
Bella smiled, her eyes shifting to Jake quickly before shaking her head.
Edward patted Jake’s shoulder gently, leaving the room. “Let’s give these three some privacy.” Jacob nodded, following behind Edward.
“Bella, I just don’t understand.” You pushed your hair from your face, beginning to pace. “You’re…” you looked at your dad, then at her. “You. But you’re not.” You gestured at her.
“I’m okay, (Name).” She said, trying to ease you. Scoffing, you readjusted your robe. “Did you just wake up?” She asked, trying to joke. “No. I just graduated high school, I’m enjoying early adulthood unemployment.”
”I need to know what happened to you.” Your dad stated, finally speaking up. “No.” Bella shook her head. “We need an explanation.”
“If you need one, I can’t stay.” Bella looked away from your dads eye contact. “No. No more going away!” Your dad spoke up.
“Just trust me. I’m alright. I’m more than alright. Can you live with that?”
Your dad scoffed. “I just watched a kid I knew his whole life turn into a very large dog.” He gestured to your twin, “my daughter looks like my daughter… but doesn’t.”
“Just trust me… I’ll tell you what you need to know.” Her gaze fell to you, knowing you knew. “And I don’t need to know this?”
“No… really, you don’t.” She shook her head. “Well… I’m not going to lose you again. I can’t.”
“You won’t. I promise.” Bella persisted.
You felt tears well in your eyes as you looked at the door way, avoiding Bella’s hug with your dad. “I missed you bells… so much.” You heard as your dad fought the tears.
A soft coo and footsteps entered the room as you exited. Your heartbeat racing as you trail down the hallway.
Opening the front door, you finally let go of the pained gasp of air you held in the back of your throat. You walked forward until you could lean against the handrail you stared into the forest. Millions of thoughts racing through your mind, but a few yelled loudly on top of the others.
Your sister is a vampire, married a vampire, probably had some weird half vampire kid, and your sisters in laws are a group of vampires.
“(Name).” Edward called to you. Closing the door behind him. “You’re not going to turn me too, are you?” You asked sarcastically.
“Uh, no.” He said softly, stepping forward to stand next to you. Taking a deep breath, he opened his mouth to say anything. You held your hand up. “I’m not going to say anything.” You shook your head, putting your hand back down. “But it explains everything.” You sighed.
“Her name is Renesmee.” Edward stated. “Who?” You narrowed your eyebrows. “Your niece.” He answered. “So you two did have sex before marriage.” You laughed slightly.
“No.” He shook his head. “We didn’t expect it… her.” Edward corrected himself. “She came as a surprise. She’s a week old and looks six months.” He shook his head.
“I don’t mean to sound rude,” you started, pushing yourself off of the handrail. “But learning about… what I learned today, was enough. I’m sorry, but I’ll meet Ragnorak another time.” You stated, moving past him to step off of the porch. “Where are you going?” Edward asked, watching your movements. “I don’t know.” You shrugged, throwing your hands up as you began to walk into the woods.
The dusk fell quickly as the sounds of nature filled your ears. Before Bella moved back to live with your dad and you, woods used to be your solace. You used to tell anyone who’d listen, you knew the woods of Forks, better than any of the people.
“Are you lost?” You heard a low pitched voice call out into the woods. You turned your head where the voice was coming. A tall man stood under a tree, deep red eyes staring into your soul, his hand resting against it as he leaned into it. “Pretty girls shouldn’t walk in the forest alone.” He stared, his voice suddenly in your ear.
“Get away from me.” You stepped back from him.
“I wouldn’t try running.” He stated firmly, his hands finding your wrists. “You can try. But it wouldn’t work.” He said, almost giggling a little.
“Let me go!” You shouted, attempting to pull out of his cold grip.
“Shhh… it’ll be over soon. You’re not the Swan I was intending but you’ll do.” He shrugged, letting go of your wrists. “But tell you what. I’ll give you a ten second head start… one…”
Turning around, you quickly ran down the cleared path, looking around for help.
“Nine… ten!” The vampire shouted behind you. Like thunder roaring, you heard running from multiple directions. You turned around to see the vampire still.
You gripped your robe as you noticed four insanely large wolves began circling the vampire. Loud slaps against the earth behind you roared as a dark grey wolf jumped over your head in front of the vampire.
Falling back, you winced as you back hit the root of the tree. A loud howl came from the largest wolf, whose fur was so dark you were surprised you could even see him in the dark.
You could feel the terror the vampire was feeling as the wolves circled him. Snarling, growling, barking to each other.
You pulled yourself up, turning your back as you heard the vampire scream in agony, before silence.
You noticed as your breath wouldn’t catch, your heart beat working overtime, your incessant shaking. You coughed as you tried to catch a breath, throwing your robe to the ground as you felt it suffocating you.
You cried out as you sat back onto the ground, your body shaking. “Oh my god…” you muttered, repeating it over and over. Your hands covering your face as you rocked yourself.
A soft whine came near you as the large grey wolf lowered himself to lay on the ground next to you. Your erratic breathing slowed as you peeked through your fingers to watch him move his paw from underneath him to help him lay to his side. Your eyes moved to the wolf’s, who made a small motion with his head for you to lean into him.
You closed your eyes and leaned over, your face meeting the soft fur, before fully laying into the wolf. You felt yourself relax as your breathing and heart rate began to calm as well as you listened to the wolf’s. Which sounded surprisingly calm despite what just happened.
You removed your hands from your face and rested them in your lap as you tried to regulate yourself.
After a couple of minutes, you sat up, looking at the wolf who was already staring you down intently.
“This is a part of Jake’s thing… isn’t it?” You asked the wolf, almost expecting it to answer. You held back a gasp as it nodded.
“(Name).” You turned around, meeting Sam’s gaze not realizing he was behind you . “You know?” He asked, but it was more of a statement. You nodded. He nodded back. “Paul.” He looked at the wolf.
A silent conversation was said between the two, and Paul stood up. “I’m having him take you to the rez. There’s things you need to know.” Sam said, his tone thick with dominance, reaching his hand out to you.
You nodded, taking it as he helped you to your feet. You looked at Paul as he kneeled beside you. You silently mounted him, leaning forward to steady yourself, grabbing fistfuls of his fur to keep hold.
He looked towards the other wolves who moved back into the shadows before running towards the reservation.
You listened to the fire crackle as you braid your damp hair. Emily, Sam’s wife, offered you a shower after coming in, which you greatly accepted.
“I’m glad the clothes fit.” She said, sitting next to you on the bench.
You nodded. “Thank you again.” You said, securing your braid with a hair tie and tossing it over your shoulder. “You’re welcome.” She smiled, looking at the fire.
“I’m guessing you know about the wolf thing?” You asked. “I’m very familiar with it.” She laughed softly. “And the vampire thing?”
“Well… when you believe in werewolves, vampires aren’t a stretch.” She shrugged a little. “You found out about the Cullen's?” She asked, looking at you.
You nodded a little. “I did. I have a niece too, who I completely blew off meeting today because finding out a childhood best friend turns into the world’s largest dog, your sister and her in-laws are all vampires was just a bit much.” You sighed.
“Your wrists are bruised.” Emily said softly, gingerly touching the finger bruises on your wrists.
“Thankfully the leech who did that is dead.” Sam’s voice cut into the conversation.
He sat across from the two of you, a slightly shorter, but still very tall man sat next to you. “I can’t stress how important it is that you keep all of this a secret. Not even Charlie can know.” Sam said.
“Who’s going to believe me even if I said anything?” You asked. “I wasn’t planning on saying anything to begin with. I’m honestly regretting taking this gap year, because I wouldn’t know any of this if I was in college. I think I’m actually going to move to my mother’s, actually, because apparently Forks is something a horror movie should’ve been shot at instead of people living here.”
Sam shook his head. “Paul imprinted on you.” Sam said. “Imprinted?” You asked, narrowing your eyebrows
“What’s imprinting?” You asked, looking at Paul. Sam and Emily stood and left, giving you space to get answers from Paul.
“It means you’re my mate. It’s like my center of gravity has been shifted to you. It’s no longer about my life. It’s about being yours. Your protector, your friend, your family. I’m permanently bound to you. A soulmate. I’m yours, until the end of time.” Paul finally spoke. “It’s like feeling in a bubble your entire life seeing everything warped until it’s right in front of you, then it pops. And everything’s clear and it’s the clearest it’s ever been. And you have room to run, jump, and touch. And you want to dedicate everything to this thing that popped your bubble.” He explained, his eyes never leaving yours. His words embed themself in you, igniting a small flame in your heart.
You nodded, silently acknowledging his words. “My sister and I have always been complete opposites… it’d make sense her real love is a vampire and mine is supposed to be a werewolf.” You leaned your head against Paul’s shoulder.
He moved his arm behind your head and rested on your shoulder as you leaned into him further. “And you fight vampires all the time?” You asked, attempting to get details from him.
“Not all the time. Time to time.” He answered.
“What makes the Cullen’s different?”
“Nothing in my eyes. But, our pack has a treaty with them. As long as they don’t pose a threat to the humans, they’re safe to live another day.”
“And what happened to Bella wasn’t a threat?”
“No. She wanted her lifestyle. We had to accept it. Then we had to accept their baby because Jacob imprinted on her.”
“Jacob imprinted on Renaissance?”
“I thought her name was Renesmee… anyways. Yes, but it’s not what you think. He’ll be her protector until she decides she’s ready to be his mate.” He answered. “Weird.”
“Do you go into the woods all the time?”
“Not as often.” You shook your head, enjoying the warmth. “I couldn’t stay out of them as a kid.”
“What’s your last name?”
“Lahote.”
“Nice to know that my eventual last name will be.” You half joked. “We just met and you’re already thinking of marriage?” He laughed a little. “If we’re going to be together until the end of time, I don’t think it’s crazy to think about marriage. Apparently women in my family thrive off of getting married before the frontal lobe is fully formed.”
“We don’t have to until you want to.” He said. “As long as we’re boyfriend and girlfriend from now until then.”
“What happened to a first date?”
“My kind typically skip into straight exclusivity.” Paul shrugged. “Normally after we have the ‘I imprinted on you’ talk, the ‘when are you moving in’ talk comes pretty quick.” You heard a small chuckle at the end of his sentence.
“Oh really? Well, I guess moving to my mom’s isn’t happening anytime soon?” You teased, looking up at him. “Hopefully not.” He smiled a little.
“I guess the hardest part going forward is explain to my dad I’m dating a dog.”
“Wolf. Dogs are wolves' sad and lame cousins.”

Ik this isn’t part of the prompt but can u plz do a eclipse Jasper x human reader whenever she can feel her anxiety worsen or even a panic attack about to start Jasper uses his ability to calm her down (since he can manipulate emotions/moods) and he usually does it by talking to her and kissing her gently🥹😭
summary; jasper eases your anxiety and kisses away all your worries.
warnings; fem!reader, reader w anxiety, soft, soft!jasper, jasper uses his gift on reader but it’s sweet, pure fluff! no use of y/n
Jasper's rasping Southern lilt pulls you out of your haze; he can feel the rushing thrum of your pulse beneath your skin, the way you tense and burrow further into the comfort of the blanket that’s loosely draped over your shoulders. You're vacant, eyes glassy and unfocused despite the lively chatter of the Cullen house, the raucous booming of Emmett’s voice and Rosalie’s quiet scolding that follows as the rest of the family talk animatedly. This upcoming fight has everyone on edge and it’s evident in your stance, the way you curl up small on the couch and wring your fingers until they flush ruby.
"Hey, sugar," Jasper murmurs, a finger hooking over your cheek to draw your gaze to his own. It's a miracle he can stand to be so close to you now, almost desensitised to your scent, the warmth of your touch, the ravenous hunger that claws at his throat when you're close. Your eyes crinkle at the corners, carving lines into the soft skin when your eyes meet his.
"Hey, Jas."
His icy lips are on your cheek and you soak up his touch, resisting the urge to lean into it as you really want to, still cautious of overwhelming him. The sense of calm that washes over you feels artificial, the only indicator that the feeling isn’t quite your own, but rather the emotion that Jasper is weaving into your frazzled nerves as the anxiety untangles like yarn and dissipates. The crushing thunderstorm is reduced to small, sweeping waves that lap at the corners of your mind but no longer engulf it.
You accept the feeling regardless of its origin, your muscles uncoiling as Jasper strokes slow lines over your cheekbone. Your eyes track the swish of his blond tresses when his head dips further, the bridge of his nose pressed to your cheek, and one golden eye that watches you right back.
His mouth ventures to the corner of your lips and you feel the imprint of his smile as you giggle and your features scrunch with unbridled adoration. It’s a rare display of such emboldened affection from him and you’ll be damned if you don’t wring him for every ounce whilst he’s willing to offer it.
All background noise melts away when he catches your lips between his own. You gasp a sweet little noise into his mouth and he swallows it greedily; the feel of his cold fingers on your cheek brands you, leaving a lasting tingle that reminds you that you’re his and his only. He nips at your bottom lip, the ghost of a laugh echoing against your mouth when you whine and cant your body towards his, wanting, needing, to be close. His forehead stays anchored to your own when he draws himself away.
"You’re beautiful," he murmurs. "My beautiful girl."
The cadence of his voice alone is enough to have you going soft and pliant in his grasp, tired eyes watching his every move as he nudges your chin upwards and presses another gentle peck to your mouth.
"Everything’s gonna be jus’ fine, okay?" he coos, gathering you up and into his arms in a way that has you biting your lip to suppress a whimper. "And then we’ll have forever, my darlin’."
"You promise?" He almost laughs at your question, but he hears the warble in your voice, feels the tightening of your fingers against the sleeve of his shirt, and he knows you need the reassurance. Something white-hot lights in his chest, fondness and something deep and primal all mixed into one— the urge to protect you always, no matter the cost, even if the world burns to ashes. He’ll protect you always.
"I promise." He sits back until you’re tucked beneath his arm, pushing stray curls out of your face as you nestle into the crook of his armpit. "Why don’t you sleep for a little while? You need it."
Suddenly the ruckus of the Cullen house dulls in your ears, your only focus on the blond you’re tucked against, his fingers curling around the blanket to pull it flush to your frame. The last thing you register is his arms tightening around you as you doze, and an arm hiking you into his lap when you go limp against him.

wolf pack x reader who went missing? :>
🌌 anon
Hello, my lovely galaxy anon!
Wolf pack x reader who went missing
So for this one, I think most of the characters would react the same so I’m going to do general headcanons
I think the panic would be palpable. Your wolf would be absolutely inconsolable. It’s hard enough having an imprint who is soft and fragile, just a human, but having you go missing is an amalgamation of their worst fears.
Drives the others crazy through the mental bond, picturing the worst case scenarios constantly and being unable to focus on anything else except you.
Searches all of your most common hangout spots, desperately trying to catch your scent so they can go on a more dedicated hunt for you.
The whole pack creates a schedule, everyone either looking for you throughout the surrounding woods or checking up on the places you would frequent. The whole pack understands the urgency and can only feel deep sympathy for your wolf, knowing that they would react the exact same way if their imprint went missing.
If it turns out you’ve been taken, most likely by an enemy vampire, they call the Cullens in and full out attack, ripping them to shreds in a heartbeat. Luckily, they got to you quickly enough you haven’t been too hurt.
Slightly more likely is you simply getting lost in the woods; you thought you would be able to find your way, given how much time you spend exploring with your wolf, but you had overestimated your abilities and ended up getting stranded in the middle of unfamiliar territory. They find you, then they don’t let you leave their side for at least a month, paranoid you’ll get lost and die in the woods.

Hello! I love your stories! What if the reader came back to Cullen and August with severe PTSD and trauma? For example, how would they handle a reader who hates to be touched in any way due to their trauma or if the reader cannot handle loud noises like yelling? Would they force the reader to still have cuddles with them or would they give them space?
I got a few similar asks to this, so I'll just answer them all with this one!
They'd both handle it pretty differently, but the biggest similarity is they'd both really be trying their hardest.
Cullen would be better at understanding your boundaries, and would gently remind August to give you more space, even though he wants to hold you just as much as his husband.
Where he'd struggle, is yelling. Typically he's an overall easy-going guy, but I think his worry for you would cause his stress to skyrocket sometimes, and he'd lash out when you flinch from him or refuse to eat.
It's not something he'd do to hurt you, and he'd always feel beyond guilty about it each time.
"Dammit, don't look at me like I'm gonna hit you! I'd never, why can't you get that through your head?! Do you know how much it hurts to see your kid, who you love more than anything, looking at you as if you're a monster?!?" *pause* "Wait, no, no, sweetie, I'm sorry--"
Meanwhile, August would be best in terms of calming Cullen down and reacting to your panic attacks, and any other trauma-related issue that may happen, but of course he'd still be extremely overbearing.
He'd cry and unintentionally make you feel guilty each time you look at him in fear, hide from him, flinch from him, etc. He'd basically break down each time, but would always speak gently to you regardless.
His biggest struggle would come in terms of respecting your boundaries. He'd constantly be trying to hold you, kiss your forehead, pet your hair, anything.
And each time, he'd act heartbroken if you express not wanting that.
I think he'd never force cuddles, but he would plead and continue unintentionally manipulating you.
"Please, I just want to hold my baby again... it's been so long since I've gotten to. You're breaking your Papa's heart..."

Tbh I've always thought that what really fucked Bella up in New Moon was the fact that Edward took all of her photos of him and left her without any evidence that he really even existed. And the Cullen leaving just felt like part of that. If they'd stayed but he still took her stuff, she probably would've done better, but if they left and she had her stuff, she also probably would've done better.
Like, in Twilight, Bella did almost die. She brushes it off but I wish New Moon had delved more into how traumatic that would've been, like instead of having nightmares about aging, she could've been having nightmares about James, and how fragile she is as a human. And everyone except for the Cullen think that she just fell down a flight of stairs, scary but not traumatizing. So when the cullens left, everyone that knew the truth was gone, and anyone she could be honest with was gone. Which isn't on them but it seems a little irresponsible, like it's against the law to tell humans the truth so we are going to leave the one human we told alone and never check in on her and make sure she isn't a) losing her mind or b) telling other people. If they owe her anything, they don't owe it to her as Edward's ex-girlfriend, they owe it her as someone that Edward and Alice brought into their world and endangered.
Aside from that, though, the fact that Edward took any trace of him meant that not only could she not be honest with anyone around her, she can't grieve the relationship properly and also she has no *tangible* evidence that he wasn't human. At least in photos you could see the paleness and the eyes. All she has is the scar James' left, which is probably wrapped in its own traumatic memories. If you had to lie to everyone around you for 6ish months, then the only people you could tell the truth to disappear and the only "evidence" you have of the truth also disappears, and you *still* have to lie to everyone around you, wouldn't you lose it a little bit? Wouldn't you start to wonder if you hallucinated the whole thing?
Like, when she sees Laurent, she's actually excited at first. Here is evidence that I did almost die in Phoenix! Here is someone I can be honest with! Here is proof that I'm not crazy! Seeing Laurent isn't painful for her the way that thinking about Edward is, she doesn't try to avoid him or have a panic attack at first.
To me, Bella's depression in new moon wasn't just about the break-up. It was also about how knowing about vampires isolated her from her human friends and family, and when the vampires left, she was alone. There were too many secrets between her and other humans for them to have normal relationships with them. Even if the cullens stayed and she avoided them, at least she knows it was real.
She's also in more danger from other vampires for the rest of her life because she knows, because anyone could come across her and say "shoot, she puts us in danger of exposure, gotta kill her I guess."
Still, I feel like people pay too much attention to the question "hey, is it messed up or not that the cullens left?" and not "hey, is it messed up or not that Edward basically stole Bella's things when he left?"
Yeah this makes sense to me. How being cut off from the vampire world and not having any proof it was even real would mess with someone. Not being able to talk honestly about what you've been through with someone. Edward is trying for a 'clean break' but in doing so removes the proof that he and the whole family was real.
What I never got about the 'abandoned' argument was like "how could Esme and Carlisle abandon their daughter!" because I just did not read their relationship like that. That birthday party in New Moon did not read to me as a family celebrating one of their own; it read as a family trying to be welcoming to a family member's newish partner. They like her. They care about her. But they don't know her that well yet and she doesn't know them that well yet. That conversation she had with Carlisle over stitches is not a conversation you have with your dad or even with your father-in-law; it's a conversation you have with someone you're still getting to know. She's asking him like, really basic stuff about the whole vegetarian thing. At this point in the story she doesn't even know Rosalie and Jasper's backstories yet. She doesn't seem to ever learn Esme's full story. Canonically, Emmett and Rosalie had been in Africa; Bella says at the birthday part it's been months since she's seen them. She and Edward have only been dating for six months, which is a long time for a high school kid, but it's literally nothing for immortal vampires.
The sense I got from New Moon was that the Cullens were still trying to figure out how this was going to end with Edward and Bella. And we learn from Midnight Sun he was planning to leave all along. I feel like Bella thought this was permanent and the "future, the family" she had chosen, but I don't think the Cullens were looking at it the same way. No one was using the word 'mate' in canon; Edward and Bella were not engaged, there was no plan to make her a vampire. Everything was still in limbo. I think Bella loved the idea of being part of this big family but I don't think she really knew them as individuals yet except Edward and Alice (even Emmett, again canonically, was not around that summer to bond with).
Obviously everyone has different headcanons, but there's roughly where mine is. I'm sure they were sorry to leave and that, other than Rosalie, they liked her, but I think they already had a sense that this arrangement between Edward and Bella might not, could not, last. I don't feel like they thought they were leaving behind a family member, just a could-have-been family member. She's like Bree Tanner in Eclipse; they would have happily taken her in. But they hadn't yet and they can't like, force Edward to keep dating her.
But yeah I think the disorientation of having no evidence (except the stereo; she clawed that out of the dashboard herself, didn't she?) and having no one to talk about it with is the real issue; THAT would take a toll on anyone's mental health even without the break up. I just didn't feel like she actually cared that much about the Cullens beyond that; hence the Scenario 2 the other day where Edward stayed but everyone else left. I think she'd feel guilty that she separated Edward from his family but that would be it. If she had Edward, she wouldn't be super bothered to not have the others around.

Can perchance have the Cullen family finding out Bella is a little??? 👉👈 she has so much lost childhood to make up for and I think the Cullens could help with that
You definitely can!
The Cullens find out Bella is a little!

Bella would fs try to conceal it, forever the parentified daughter. She’s always terribly afraid she’s pestering anyone by being small.
How the Cullens discover it
When Alice came back from Ithaca, she had found a regressed Bella. She was cold, and traumatized from her brush from death. Everytime she could have a chance to see Edward, she relished it. She yearned for him to take care of her, to hold her like he had so many months ago. Alice found her curled in her bed, holding her lamb stuffed animal she had bought herself. She had her knees to her chest, with a far off glossy look in her eyes. Her thumb was in her mouth as she stared off, out of the window as if Edward would just appear. When she had noticed Alice’s presence, she startled. The poor thing began to panic, tears quickly streaming down her cheeks.
“Alice?” She had asked, voice full of disbelief.
“Hey, Bella! I missed you! I’m so glad you’re okay!” She said cheerily, gentle and soft, the little one quickly soothed. She hugged her, holding her close. She soothed over her hair as Bella cried, clinging to her as if she was scared she’d drift away.
Later on, after the run in with the volturi, Edward was the first to know. With him hearing Alice’s thoughts, she had told him, and he easily accepted. When Bella found that instead of pushing her away again for regressing, she was welcomed with open arms by the siblings, telling everyone else got far easier. She left it up to them to tell the others, and they all accepted it pretty easy. When you’ve been around for a century, or close to that, you get very open minded.
How they treat the little one!
Alice
Totally a big sister! She was Cynthia’s when she was a human, and old habits die hard!
Bella can definitely expect to have a partner for tea parties and dress up!
Alice is also very good at Barbie’s
Since the poor thing is still pretty traumatized from her brush with death, Alice is very good at bath times.
She will also sit with Bella and read her stories or sing her lullaby’s.
Big fan of braiding Bella’s hair, or just playing with it in general!
Bella reminds her of Cynthia, so it’s a bit of mutual healing for the two of them!
Once Bella’s a bit more comfortable with it, you can count on him joining his mate and the little one in whatever activity they are doing.
Jasper
Very gentle with Bella
Originally the little one is a little wary of him since he almost attacked her at her birthday party.
Once the two move past that though it’s smooth sailing!
He loves walking with her in the trees, or giving her piggy back rides! He’ll run through the trees with her on his back just to hear her endless giggling.
Alice is very fond of this as well, her favorite times are often when her and Jasper are caring for Bella.
Will tell her stories of all the places he’s been and what the past was like
He does make sure to leave out details that would upset the little one though!
Will do his bat twirl when she asks, just cos he knows it makes her giggle.
Edward
Her main caregiver even though most of the Cullens treat her as their little as well.
Loves holding her while she sleeps or when she’s feeling clingy.
Will jump tree to tree with her similarly to Jasper just to hear her laugh and squeal.
Will listen to music, play piano or read stories to her. Bella loves him reading her Shakespeare or other classic literature. She doesn’t always understand the big words, but his voice is the part she really loves.
This kiddo has a whole lot of abandonment trauma, so after the events of new moon she is definitely wary of him.
Once she’s sure he won’t leave again, she clings to him like no other.
Edward can’t even make her something or get her a sippy cup without her whimpering and almost in tears.
He will carry her with him around the house just to stop her from being upset.
Little Bella doesn’t have the best grasp on object permanence, so whenever Edward leaves the room after spending time with her, she automatically thinks he’s leaving again.
The minute he comes back though she’s so ecstatic about it and clinging to him.
Loves calling her pet names! Will call her little lamb, or sweetheart more often than not.
Loves sitting in the meadow with her and letting her see his skin glimmer in the sunlight peaking through the trees.
Rosalie
Definitely the most distant in the beginning
She does come around eventually she’s just very guarded at the start
Once she is a bit more willing to take care of the little one all that goes out the window
Loves taking care of Bella when she is super little!
She loves playing with her hair or playing peekaboo with the kiddo.
Will tickle her just to hear her precious little giggle!
Big fan of rules and of naptimes
Really she just likes watching the little one dream while she pets her hair.
A stickler on sugar and on too many snacks
Will scold Bella for ruining her supper
But she does manage to stock the house full of things the little will eat.
Loves watching Emmett play with her too! She always wanted her and Emmett to have a child so she can do that vicariously through her!
Emmett
He thrives outdoors, okay?
He would be so good at playing with her outside, or just making mud pies!
Rosalie would scold him for getting her dirty though.
“Stop letting that little girl drag in mud!” “It’s just dirt and she was having fun, babe, c’mon”
Rosalie does shake her head and clean up the mess, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
He gives amazing piggy back rides since he’s built like He-Man
Is surprisingly so soft with Bella?
Like he will let her sleep on his chest while him and Rosalie are cuddled up, he’ll he’ll even put a heating pad under his shirt so she’s not too cold.
Amazing at hide and seek, even though he can always find Bella immediately, he will really draw it out for her.
Esme
Thee momma to end all mommas!
Will cook(usually too much) for the little one!
She’s lowkey forgotten how much humans need to eat so she has to learn to feed Bella the appropriate amount.
The definition of she’s a little confused but she’s got the spirit
Loves to buy her trinkets and gear while she’s out!
“This reminded me of you and I just had to get it, Angel.”
Bella hates gifts but does really treasure everything any of the Cullens give her.
A total mom, we’re talking scolding to eat her veggies, fretting over nap times, and worrying about if the sugar she had spoilt her appetite.
Her love language is acts of service and does she show it!
Will do her laundry and fold it, cook for her, keep her gear clean and sanitary, and making sure her things are neat!
She definitely converted a room in their house to a nursery for Bella!
Hell she even got her one of those expensive adult sized cribs or had a custom woodland themed bed frame made!
Will get her plenty of stuffies!
Carlisle
The best at helping whenever the little gets a booboo, or hurt.
Will play doctor with her!
Bella does play the doctor and usually gives him the most asinine diagnoses for fun.
“You have rabies and we need to amputate your arm and nose.”
She says this very gravely, all while Carlisle is trying not to burst out laughing.
Since he’s the oldest in the Cullen clan, Carlisle is her favorite story teller of the past.
When he puts into perspective that he was born less than 30 years after Shakespeare died she gapes at him.
He doesn’t spend nearly as much time with little Bella, but she is his go to when the rest have to hunt.
Around him she usually regresses pretty young!
Will hold her close or bounce her on his knee just so she giggles.
Istg this whole family will do anything to see this poor girl giggle.
When Bella isn’t having the best day, he is one of the best at making her feel so loved and cared for.
Very gentle cg fs!

I walked out of my room, going next door to the only bathroom in the house. Charlie’s at work and Bella is out somewhere with Edward, or maybe Jake? I can’t remember honestly. Wanting to witness just how bad I looked, I turned to the mirror. In the mirror was not me, from what I could see through my blurry eyes, it was a red-faced idiot. I hate seeing myself like this. I couldn’t look at myself any longer, I turned on the faucet and grabbed a washcloth, running it under the cool water. I tried to slow my breathing, taking a deep breath as I brought the washcloth to my face, but it came out shaky.
After a few minutes of trying to make myself look most presentable, I decided I can't be alone right now. I need to talk to someone, not even about the problems I have going on right now. I just need a distraction and something else to focus on, instead of being disappointed in myself for doing this.
In a slight haze, I didn't even realize where I was going until I pulled into the driveway. I looked out the window to see the large, fancy house in the middle of the woods. I didn't call or message anyone ahead of time, I wasn't thinking clearly enough for that. But the Cullens wouldn't mind. Sure, I was human but having Bella as my sister automatically made me close with the family; they’re my friends as well as hers. I glanced one last time at myself in the rearview mirror, making sure I didn't look too wrecked, before getting out of the car and walking to the door.
I took a deep breath before knocking. Before I could touch the door, it swung open to reveal the head of the household.
As soon as I saw his expression, I knew there was no hiding anything. Being human, Carlisle could smell my distinct scent before he even opened the door, but I knew he could smell my blood too. Or more specifically the fresh cuts along my arms.
“Carlisle… I-” My voice barely a whisper, my eyes were already starting to water again as I tried to speak, and my hands were playing with the cuff of my long sleeves.
“Are you alright?” The blonde questioned me, even though he already knew the answer. When I tried to speak up again, the tears just started flowing again. I couldn't stop them. Without anymore words, Carlisle gently pulled me into a hug. It wasn't warm or bone-crushing, it was soft, comforting and familiar. My hands balled into fists on the back of his sweater, and the front of his shirt was growing damp with my tears. One of his cold hands were lightly rubbing my back, trying to comfort me. All while I could hear him whispering that it was all okay because he was here now.
Without letting me go, Carlisle pulled me closer, with one had slipping into my hair, he moved us into the house and shut the door. His comforting voice was quiet and soft became like white noise. My head wouldn't shut up! Thoughts racing with all the anxiety and self hatred I've been feeling.
“Shh, shh, shh… it’s alright, darling. I’m here. You’re okay, love…” Normally his nicknames for me would turn my insides to mush and make my knees weak; in the current situation, I didn't even realize he called me such sweet things, I couldn't even hear him. It was getting harder to breathe, my lungs struggling to even gasp through the tears as yet another panic attack racked through my body. Even as I held onto Carlisle as tight as was humanly possible, I couldn't stop trembling.
When he realized I couldn't hear him, he pulled back from the hug. My arms on his sides, trying to stay on him for any small amount of grounding, and his cold hands moved to my face, holding it gently. He tipped up my head, forcing me to look him in the eyes.
“Breathe with me… come on:” Speaking gently, his slight english accent more prominent as he was focusing on my state.
“In… and out… in… and out…” He pretended to breathe with me, dramatically raising and dropping his shoulders, until I gained enough breathe to not be gasping and struggling. Using his thumbs, he wiped away the falling tears from my cheeks.
With the feeling of his icy hands on my face, soft sweater beneath my palms and quiet voice in my ears, I started to calm down. My breath came back to almost normal, my crying slowed down to only a few tears and I was shaking a lot less than before.
Carlisle wouldn’t move until he had calmed me down at least mostly. When he saw the progress we had made, he pulled me into another hug. I buried my face in his chest, once again all but clawing at his back. I was so embarrassed that he had to see me in this state; this isn't his problem, it's mine. He shouldn't have to deal with this. I mumbled apologies into his now damp shirt.
“What was that, sweetheart?” He questioned, yet made no movement to push me away, he wanted me to move at my own speed. I pushed my forehead against his chest, so my mouth was free to speak without being muffled anymore.
“...I said… I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Carlisle. I didn't mean to come hear and annoy you. I'm sure you're super busy and I just had nowhere else to go. And I just-” Carlisle once again cupped my face in his hands, only moving it so I could look up into his golden eyes.
“Don’t apologize. Please don't apologize, my love. You have nothing to worry about.” He reassured me. I knew he meant it but that bad part of my brain was convinced he was lying.
“...May I see?” He questioned, worried to overstep a boundary but the doctor in him was too overwhelmed with the need to help me. I didn't want to show him. He shouldn't have to deal with this, I can clean myself up. I can take care of myself… I always have…
After shifting my gaze to our feet, I slowly nodded. His hands moved to one of my forearms; one holding my arm gently and the other rolling up my sleeve. I couldn’t look at them. Instead, I was focusing on the wall to our side. The window, the trees outside, the doorway to the kitchen. Anything but my arm as I could feel a light finger proding near the open cuts.
“Come on, darling. Let’s go to my office.” He moves his hand to hold mine as I followed him to the office. He sits me down on his desk and walks away to gather the necessary supplies. I didn't even want him to move away that far.
The tears start to silently flow again when he brings a little bowl with bandages in it over and slowly moves to pull up my sleeves again. I look down in shame but when I see the red on my arms, the tears flow a little harder and instead I try to focus on the trees outside. It's easy with windows that big.
It’s too quiet as he starts to clean my arms. Too quiet when I wince at the sting of the wet gauz meeting the fresh cuts. Justs too quiet as my brain starts to overthink again.
“I’m sorry, Carlisle…” I say to the tree out the window, my voice a little shaky.
“Darling… look at me.” He stops tending to my wounds to focus on my face. I slowly look at his; still ashamed of what I did and this whole situation. Eventually, I met his gaze.
“You do not need to be sorry, my love. I’m glad you came to me; that I am the one taking care of you. You never need to apologize to me, you know I am happy to take care of you… you know I'm here for you, sweetheart.” My tears slowed only because my body was running out of tears to cry; yet a huge sadness grew in me. Even more than what was there before. I know he doesn't feel the same about me, but hearing him say those things -- the bad part of my brain interpreted them as a paternal taking-care-of. My mind was too clouded to see how wrong I actually was…
When everything went quiet again, he looked back down and continued working on my arms. I couldn’t bring myself to respond; I had nothing to say. I couldn’t tell him why I relapsed, or else I would send myself into another spiral. I couldn’t tell him my feelings; we were already in such a vulnerable situation, I really couldn’t risk that. I couldn’t say anything; so I didn’t.
Earlier, I think Carlisle noticed how I only started to calm down once I had an anchor; once I had him to focus on. So, he began to hum. I didn't recognize the song, I could barely think right now. I just liked focusing on the sound of his voice. It’s such a nice voice; I could listen to him all day, if he let me…
My gaze roamed all over the man in front of me. His golden eyes were focused on the arms I didn't dare look at again. His pale skin looking so smooth and soft, I just wanted to hold his face in my hands. The pale pink of his lips barely moving as he hums the nameless song. His blonde hair looking so perfect –too perfect– I was tempted to run my hands through it just to mess it up. He just… looked like an angel. My guardian angel.
After he cleaned my arms, he wrapped them snuggly, but not tightly, in some bandages. As Carlisle moved to dispose of the bloody cloths, I finally looked at my forearms. Only glancing down once I knew all the red was gone and the bandages were in place. I used my right hand to lightly run my fingers of the bandage on my left forearm. I could feel a faint sting of the fresh wounds, but it isn't painful anymore.
“Carlisle…” I whispered, not bothering to look up. He turned around and grabbed both of my hands. I still didn't look up; now choosing to focus on how his cold hands almost engulfing mine.
“Come, why don't we go into the other room?” he gently asked, using one hand to gently tip my chin up with his pointer finger. His eyebrows slightly raised as if he were waiting for an answer.
“...Thank you” I finally spoke, looking right into his eyes so I know he understood how much this means to me and how genuine my thanks were. We both know that didn't really answer his question; he seems to understand me perfectly though. With a small smile, he pulls up both my hands so my forearms are eyelevel with me. He leans down to the left side and gently kisses the middle of my forearm, right on the bandage.
“You’re welcome, my love.” He leans up to look me in the eye as he speaks before moving to do the same on my right arm. I want to cry. Not just for that sweet moment but how patient and kind he has always been to me, especially today. I don't think he knows how much he means to me; and I'm too scared to even tell him.
“C’mon, let’s go,” He repeats, helping me off his desk and into the living room. He pulls a thick blanket off the back of the couch and wraps me up as he sits me down. I watch as he leaves the room for one second and returns with a book in hand. My favorite book… He remembered?
Sitting next to me on the couch, he goes to open the book but before he can, I scoot closer to him so we’re shoulder-to-shoulder. I try to throw half of the blanket over his lap, but somewhat fail miserably. He laughs it off and gives me a quiet thanks as he pulls the blanket over his legs and helps me get comfortable. I kick off my shoes and pull my feet onto the couch, gently resting my head on his shoulder as he moves to open the book once more; this time succeeding and holding it somewhat in between us, so I can see the words. As if I don't have them memorized by now.
The last thing I remember from that long, tiring day was the pounding in my head finally subsiding as my eyes drifted shut. The absolute serenity and comfort I felt in the moment was unreal. I have never felt more safe than when I'm with Carlisle, especially on days like these: gently falling into some well-deserved sleep while listening to his voice.

Chapter Two, Last Time
(Alice X Reader X Jasper)

[One] [Two] [Three]
I go down to the wedding, helping Emmett and Jasper usher people to their seats. Introducing myself to people.
I wave over to the Denali sisters, Tanya grins back giving me a bigger wave than the other two. I then hear familiar voices behind me in the seats.
"They have got to be related." Eric speaks up. "What a gene pool." Mike comments. I can tell they're talking about the Denali's.
"Seriously. You got some... drool." Jessica points around her mouth and I quietly snicker since they don't realize I'm right in front of them listening. "I mean, [Name] truly fits in here. She had a huge glow up before graduation it was so weird." Eric hums out. "Talking about drool." Mike rolls his eyes.
"So, you think Bella's gonna be showing?" Jessica asks them. "Jess, she is not pregnant." Angela stands up for my sister. "Okay, who else gets married at 18?"
"People in love, I'm just guessing here though." I finally say something, watching Jessica jump. "Oh, [Name]. Hey..." She awkwardly laughs. "Hey," I slightly frown.
"Hey Angela, we so need to catch up after the ceremony." I smile to her, rubbing her shoulder before walking over to Jasper.
"Everyone is seated." He tells me in a hushed tone. "Alright, let's go find our lover." I take his hand. Walking towards the front where we were told our seats were. Mine being next to my mom and dad. Charlie obviously has to walk Bella down the aisle first. Alice and Jasper joined me on the brides side as the others were on the grooms for Edward.
The music begins after everyone is sat down and kind of chilled out. Everyone standing back up in formation. Looking down the aisle to my sister who is holding onto our dad.
I hold onto Alice's hand as Bella is making her way to Edward.
My eyes water at the sight. Knowing that after her honeymoon comes she will be a different Bella. She won't be the same sister I grew up with. I then hear my mom whisper something and then grab my other hand. Squeezing it while also crying herself. But for different reasons than my own.
Once Bella reaches her man, Charlie gives her over and he joins us. Sitting down next to my mom we all sit down ourselves.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here on this glorious day to witness the union of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Please repeat after me." The minister speaks to everyone then to the couple.
Throughout the vows, the deeper they get the more I begin to panic thinking about everything. I feel myself sweating and I had to let go of my mom's hand knowing that it was going to feel like a fever or worse to her.
Alice knew what was happening and held my hand tighter.
Once they get to the I do's then kiss in front of one another. My final tear falls and I wipe it. Standing up to clap for them.
After that they begin to talk to everyone. Since the conversations start I immediately rush off, Alice and Jasper following after me, saying something to my parents for me. I feel my body heating up and the panic from earlier has now set into a panic attack. My body not knowing what to do.
"Hey, my love, my love. You're okay." Alice attempts to reassure me, holding my face up as I shake my hands to try and calm down. "Look at Jasper, just look at Jasper." She grips my cheeks to keep my face up. My eyes forcing their way to make eye contact with him. He's already trying to take my panic away replacing it with a calm feeling. It sort of helps, I feel my heart rate drop down.
"Your eyes are turning colors." Alice furrows her eyebrows. "I'm wearing contacts." I scrunch my face in confusion. "Behind the contacts, they're changing." She whispers. "That... that doesn't make sense." I respond in the same tone.
Weirdly, even though I'm being told there's a new thing about my eyes. I finally feel calm. Calm enough at least. I shake my head knowing this isn't the time to deal with my problems right now.
"We'll have to deal with it later. We need to go to the reception. I have a speech to do." I take a deep breath, cleaning myself off. "Sorry for this." I motion to everything.
I begin to walk away but Alice stops me. "Don't apologize, you know we're here for you whenever you need us." She assures me, I nod my head. "This is my sister and Edward's day. Please let's finish this later." I plead with her, attempting to walk off once again this time they don't stop me.
They follow closely behind and we go to the area where we set up the reception. Everyone already there. I go over to the food checking it all out. Both of my lovers on either side of me. Jasper keeping an arm around my waist as Alice holds my hand. The two talk to everyone who comes our way. I try to keep up with all the conversations. My mind elsewhere of course.
My eye color changing... What did she mean by that? Whatever it is I just hope this change isn't as painful as the last two.
At that point I would just wish for death from the Volturi.
The two guide me to different areas, well bringing me with them where ever they go. Alice lets go of my hand and Jasper brings me to his side even more.
I glance up at him confused on why. "Just thought it'd be bigger." I hear from beside me. "Yeah." I look over and see Jessica and Eric talking about the wedding cake.
I then see Alice walking over to them. "Hi!" Jessica immediately puts on a fake persona. "Hi, guys." She smiles at them. "We were just saying how pretty everything is, you know, just saying." Jessica tells Alice. I suck in my cheeks, trying not to call her out for lying.
Jasper squeezes my side with his hand. Warning me to not do what I was thinking. I squeeze his hand back, assuring him I'm not going anywhere. "Well, thanks so much. You don't think it's too much?" Alice tilts her head to the side.
"No. Not at all." Eric shakes his head. "No. No." Jessica joins in.
I take a breath in, looking around the wedding. Noticing that Jacob still hasn't shown up. I know it must disappoint Bella but I understand why he's not here.
After finishing up a few more greetings and talks, we all get our food and sit down for the toasts. Jasper and Alice on either side of me at our assigned table.
I fix the jacket of my pantsuit. "Excuse me." Emmett begins, tapping on the mic. Standing on a little stage. "Is this on? Hello? Umm, I'd like to propose a toast. To my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. 'Cause you won't be getting any more for a while." He laughs whilst everyone else stares at him awkwardly. The Cullens of course find it humorous. Even Bella and Edward as they try to hide their smiles. I felt my body cringe at it though. It was funny but seeing Renee and Charlie's horrified expressions was too much.
The next persons to walk up on the stage is Jessica and I stiffen up. "Well, Bella was just like everybody else, totally mesmerized by Edward. Or "The Hair" as I call him. And then, suddenly, Edward is all about Bella. Even though she's not that captain of the volleyball team." There's only awkward chuckles in response so she kind of back tracks. "I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding. Or the president of the student council." I go to stand up but Alice roughly sits me back down. I suck in air loudly.
She finally gets off the stage and Charlie gets up. "Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the Earth." The guests all laugh and he looks over to me. I smile and give him a thumbs up. "And I know how to use a gun." He adds. Bella and I shake our heads laughing.
Alice goes up, I cheer for her as she goes up. "Now that you're my sister, you'll have to get over your aversion to fashion. Like your own sister did." They all laugh as I stand up and show my outfit off. Knowing that's exactly what Alice wanted me to do. They cheer for the pantsuit.
"Skirts, heels, handbags...." Alice continues. Before she can really go on about fashion Jasper and I have to get her off the stage.
Renee goes up, "I used to sing this to you... and [Name] when you two were just itty bitty." She takes a breath. "Go to sleep, my love. Go to sleep. When you wake you'll see me." She sings and I scrunch my nose. A little embarrassed. I look over to Bella who has the same expression as me.
After our mom exits the stage, Esme replaces her. "I'd like to thank Renee and Charlie for bringing such a wonderful person... well Two wonderful persons into the world. And into our lives. We will cherish them and protect them forever." Esme smiles to Bella and I's parents.
I look over to Edward and he motions for me to go since his is last. I stand up, clearing my throat as I step onto the stage. "Bella, my older sister. Might as well be my younger sister due to how clumsy you are. Having to protect you from people to inanimate objects." Everyone laughs, Bella smiles at me. I choke up on my next words but somehow get them out. "I'm so proud of you and Edward. How far your relationship has grown into such a beautiful thing. I wish nothing but the best for my sister. My wishes came true and Edward appeared. Thank you, Edward." I nod my head to him, he does the same with a small smile. "I love you both very much." I walk off the stage. I see Bella wiping a tear from her eye. I didn't expect that reaction but as long as they aren't sad tears.
Finally for the last toast, Edward stands in front of the mic. "It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can barely your soul to. And who will accept you for what you are. I've been waiting, what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what aI am. And with Bella, I feel like I can finally begin. So, I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever." Edward cheers to his bride who takes every word in. The guests seem to have been grasping onto the words that left his mouth as well.
That's when we finally got to stand back up, enjoy the rest of the night before reality hits us once again.
I watch as Alice and Jasper dance on the floor. My arms crossed tightly against my chest as I'm stuck in thought. I wonder how we were ever going to get married. How our forever is going to go. The three of us.
"[Name]," I get startled out of my thoughts, I look over to see Angela. "Oh, hey Ang." I give a polite smile. "You look beautiful tonight." She tells me, I glance down at my outfit then to her brown dress. "So do you." I nudge her arm. "How are you and Eric doing?" I ask her, moving the conversation. "Oh, we're good. I guess. How about you and them two?" She points to my lovers who are still dancing. Enjoying themselves.
I smile brightly. "We're doing pretty good. Not marriage level yet but almost there." I half-heartedly joke.
"That's amazing." She hums. It goes quiet between us. This might be one of our last times talking to one another. Angela was always a really good friend to me. "Want to go someplace quiet and chat?" I offer, I watch her eyebrows twitch as if she was confused but then she smiles. "That would be great, let's go!" She then follows my lead. I take her to the front of the house where the porch is.
We both sit down. She tells me how college is slightly worrying for her. She's ready to go but at the same time so many things will be different. Along with her relationship with Eric. I lie to her about what I'll be doing since high school is over. Telling her how Alice, Jasper and I will be traveling in Europe.
We don't actually have many plans to be doing that. Just moving someplace else.
"You know something really weird?" She suddenly changes the topic. I tilt my head, basically telling her to continue. "I thought I liked you... romantically at one point when I first met you." She tells me, my eyes go wide. I go to say something but my words feel stuck in my throat. "You don't have to feel any type of way about that. I was confused. I just wanted to tell you because I find it a little funny now. A lot of people had a thing for you in high school." She informs me and I furrow my eyebrows.
"What?" I laugh out. "Yeah, you intimidated a lot of people but they liked you too. It was funny." She sighs out a small laugh. "That's so... weird but ego boasting?" I giggle out because I don't know what else to do. "I kind of guessed you had a thing for me... I played along with it a little bit. Before Alice and Jasper came into my life fully. I thought I probably liked you as well." I rub the back of my neck. This time her eyes go wide. "Really?"
"Yeah..." I frown, looking off to the people who are all talking near the porch. Walking by. "Well now we're both living our best lives." I say, taking her hand in mine. "I wish you the best with college and with Eric." I stand up. "I should go find Ally and Jas. We should get lunch or something on one of your breaks if I'm still in the state." I offer, knowing she has my phone number along with my email since we had to do projects together before for our senior year.
"Yeah I wish you the best with everything too. That sounds like a plan." She nervously nodded, then pulling me into a hug.
She lets me go and I leave the porch. I thought she'd be behind me for a little bit but it looks like she stayed on the porch.
I guess if Alice and Jasper never showed up she would've been the person I went for. If the world was normal and I was only ever human. Experiencing mortality like everyone else. No past lives... No vampires, wolves or hybrid bullshit.
A mortal life with Angela... What our life would've been is a mystery that will always stay one.
If the Cullens never showed Bella would never beg to become a Vampire, ruin her mortality, her future with our family. If the Cullens never showed up, if they never existed. If they died when they were supposed to. Maybe Bella and I would have normal fights. Normal conversations.
"[Name]! Where have you been!?" Emmett points over to me, a cup in his hand that looks like alcohol. "Talking with a friend." I tell him, he raises a brow but brings me into an embrace. "Well we missed you." He brings me over to the dance floor where Alice, Jasper, and Rosalie were all dancing together. "I was only gone about an hour." I laugh, shoving him off of me. He huffs out, holding his chest. His drink slightly spilt.
"Longest hour of my life having to listen to a jealous Alice." Rosalie rolls her eyes playfully, nudging Alice whose face looks panicked all of a sudden. "I was not jealous." She disagrees instantly. "She was so jealous." Emmett "whispers", not very good though because Alice was glaring daggers at him.
But if the Cullens didn't exist. I wouldn't have these moments, and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
Jasper pulls me into his arms, dancing with me. Alice then twirling me away from his arms. Rosalie even jumping into the dance. Emmett drunkenly swaying with the drink in his hand still.
Bella and Edward walk out of the house with their suitcases. I take their bags and help my dad put them away. I overhear my mom talk to Bella.
"So, he really won't tell you where he's taking you?" She asks Bella who shakes her head. "No, it's a surprise."
"Well, wear a hat. Sunscreen. Take care of yourself." Renee reminds my sister. "I will."
"Okay." She hugs Bella who hugs back tightly. "I love you, Bella."
"I love you." She responds. "So much." Renee adds.
"Thank you."
"Everything's packed and ready to go." Charlie tells them, I stand off to the side now with my mom. Waiting my turn. "Cool." Bella says. "Oh, we're gonna go see him." She points over to Edward. We walk over to the groom. My mom talking his head off. trying to know where he's taking her eldest daughter. He won't budge though. I of course know. I promised him I wouldn't tell anyone outside of the Cullen family and Bella.
I hear that Bella and my dad's conversation is over I head over to my sister. "Hey, I want a call before..." I trail off, she knows immediately what I'm talking about and she nods her head. "Of course." She pulls me into a hug and I begin to tear up.
My last time seeing her as a human. I squeeze a little tighter but then I hear a crack and let go quickly. "Sorry." I mumble. "It's okay. I love you." She gives me one last hug then heading over to her husband.
"You ready?" Edward asks. "Yeah, I'm ready."
And then they leave. And the panic begins back up in my chest. I swallow it down.

I put probably too much thought into the set dressing for this piece, including things that aren't visible.
Stephanie and Duke bough command strips for all the posters and pictures besides the Wayne/Kane portrait so Alfred wouldn't have a panic attack about putting unnecessary nails in the walls. Alfred honestly didn't want to move the pictures onto the wall to begin with, but Bruce insisted everyone who couldn't be there in person be represented.
In the pictures, left to right are Cullen Row. Jack and Janet Drake. Barbara Gordon, Jim Gordon, James Gordon Jr., Barbara Kean, Sarah Essen-Gordon. John Dick and Mary Grayson. Phillip Kane, Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne, Martha Wayne, Jacob Kane, Gabi Kane, Kate Kane, and Beth Kane. Jason and Catherine Todd. Wiggles the dragon, Goliath the dragon-bat, and Batcow. Doug, Duke, and Elaine Thomas.

Softly tagging: @in-the-drowning-deep @jenn2d2 @blackwall-my-tiny-husband @davrinsleftpectoral and if you think it sounds fun and wanna play: you!
I need to write more companion shenanigans; I love Bull and Sera and their craziness.
Word count: 1200-ish
Near sunset, he received a surprising note from a lightly sunburnt messenger. “Inquisitor Trevelyan says if you want to see her fight a dragon, they’re setting the bait now.”
He gaped, mid-meeting with Briony about the logistics of their trip back to Skyhold. “Training exercise,” she offered.
For a moment he considered, then nodded. “Bring the lieutenants whose squads are ready to march. Show me on the map, soldier, and escort the rest.”
The messenger saluted and then ducked into a tent to point to a rough location at the south end of the Approach, not far. He left immediately, sword and shield at the ready, and trekked across the sands. As he got closer the dragon circling overhead grew larger, its shadow monstrously large against the sand in the growing twilight.
“I wouldn’t get closer, ser,” a man with a heavy Orlesian accent warned him. “She seems agitated and will likely attack.”
Cullen lifted a brow at him. “And you are?”
“Professor Frederic of Serault,” he introduced. “I study draconology. The Inquisitor offered to help me with my research; she is a wonderful woman.”
The Commander crossed his arms and peered down into the basin where he could see her and her companions–Bull, posturing and great sword already raised; Dorian, making exaggerated gestures to her that he guessed was some kind of joke; Sera, bouncing on the balls of her feet with her bow at her side; Yvette, pointing around the field and laying glyphs across the ground. Overhead the dragon roared as it drew nearer, and Bull shouted back. Sera’s laughter bounced off the ruins, and then he heard her call to brace just as the dragon settled herself into the sand.
“Fascinating,” the professor breathed.
Together with Yvette, Bull baited the dragon across the sand and glyphs activated in her wake. Incensed, the dragon breathed lightning. The Qunari braced himself to eat the brunt of it and the Inquisitor dashed toward the flank. Against the darkening sky, the glimmer of her magic sword was easy to see. He lost sight of the elf and Tevinter among the columns until he caught sight of light glinting off of arrows or the purple hue of magic as they hemmed the beast in. By then the others joined him, and awe rippled through the soldiers.
The dragon jumped and snapped, and when its tail sent her flying he almost charged in, but even in the air she spun and loosed a barrage of ice. Bull kept the dragon’s ire focused on him as she landed, rolled, and got back to her feet, and the next time the tail swiped toward her she disappeared, reappearing on its other side seconds later. She used her staff to parry swiping claws and keep the beast off kilter, and blood began to paint the sands.
Finally, in the darkening of twilight, the dragon fell. Bull roared and Sera whooped, and the soldiers around him burst into applause. Most of the party turned and addressed them, but she kept her focus on the beast. Gently she ran her hand along its jaw and bowed her head; standing next to it, she was barely taller than the skull was wide, and she lingered beside it long after the others had begun to climb the sand toward them.
“Enjoy the show, professor?” Bull asked, his chest and face splattered with the still-drying blood.
“It is a shame she attacked, but I have learned much,” the Orlesian confirmed. “I’ll join the Inquisitor.”
“Is she all right?” One of the soldiers asked.
“Yeah, she does that,” Sera shrugged. “Prays or something, keeps watch until the people come to chop it up.”
“Our Evie has a soft spot for dragons,” Dorian mused. “Unlike some of us.”
“I like dragons,” Bull argued.
“Yes, you have a very hard spot for them,” the mage drawled.
Sera snorted while Bull chuckled. Cullen shook his head and finally let himself pick his way over the sand to join her. Standing next to the dragon, he realized that not even his idea of the size of high dragons could compare to their actual size. Shoulder to shoulder, it was easily wider than he was tall, its claws as long as his forearm. The professor took samples and examined the beast closely, and she provided him light to work.
“The professor will oversee the corpse,” she told him when she caught sight of him. “He has horses and wagons to take the beast back to Skyhold for further examination, we just need to keep scavengers away.”
“I’ll get men on it,” he promised.
“Sorry to pile on,” she sighed. “First the Venatori mage, now the dragon…”
“It’s all right,” he assured her. “Are you okay?”
“I will be,” she rolled her shoulders and stretched her neck. “Once we’re back in my bed.”
His ears burned, but the professor was too ensconced to pay them any mind. Unfortunately it would be weeks before they would be back to Skyhold, and they both knew it. In the meantime they would have to make it work with bedrolls and cots, and plenty of nights apart.
“Our good professor told me there’s a dragon in the Wastes,” she added. “I hope our paths don’t need to cross.”
“A beautiful Sandy Howler,” he chimed in, reverence in his voice. “They prefer to roast their kills before eating them. I have often wondered if different Howlers have different preferences for their meals, like people with steaks.”
“I’ll remember to take notes, professor,” she promised.
“Will you return to camp tonight?” He shifted his weight and glanced back toward where a few of his men lingered.
“Yes, let’s go. I’ll send people to work with you, professor.”
As they walked back, he watched her from the corner of his eye. “You were magnificent out there.”
“I felt a little sloppy,” she admitted. “I’m glad you made it. I hoped it would help you worry a little less.”
“I’ll always worry for you,” he confessed, “but not because I think you lack skill.”
They left a small but capable squad with the dragon and professor, and she warned them to watch for bandits and beasts. “I’ll be back in the morning to have a look around and help however I can,” she promised. The soldiers saluted her and she returned the gesture before they made their way back to the camp.
As the temperature dropped in the night she shivered and he settled his coat over her shoulders. She looked at him, surprised, and he just rubbed the back of his neck. Everyone already knew about the Commander and the Inquisitor, but her wearing his coat into camp was as clear as writing his name on her. Before he could think better of it, she wrapped it around her and tucked her hands into its folds, a pleased smile curling her lips.
No one said anything, of course, and she accepted a drink from around the campfire where Bull was still talking about the dragon to a large audience. He led a toast in her name and she bowed her head in thanks. Miraculously, there was still some kind of charred meat available to eat, and she picked at a plate of it while Bull launched into the fight with the giant in the ruins and Sera helped him reenact the battle. It was obviously heavily embellished, but the soldiers ate it up.

Feel free to ignore if this doesn't vibe with you but I have an idea
Carlisle cullen x Autistic reader comfort where R is a newborn vampire and is in their room freaking out because they're so overstimulated.
I loooove this idea, I hope I did it justice 😭
Carlisle Cullen x Autistic!Reader
Warnings: panic attack, overwhelmed reader, maybe more
Word count: 644
Turning
The forest was alive with the whispers of the wind weaving through the trees, yet it only heightened your sense of panic. The world was too loud, too bright, too sharp. Every sound grated against your mind, every scent was an overwhelming assault, and every nerve screamed with fierce intensity. You hadn’t asked for this. You hadn’t wanted it.
Turned into a vampire by a stranger, abandoned, and left to fend for yourself, you were drowning in your own heightened senses. You stumbled through the dense forest, clutching at your head, the crashing of your footsteps echoing painfully in your ears.
And then, you saw him.
A man stepped into view. His presence was kind of comforting, as if he were made of something softer than the rest of this chaotic world. His golden eyes held a warmth you hadn’t encountered since you woke up as… this.
“My name is Carlisle,” he said softly, his voice a balm against the overwhelming storm in your mind. “I can help you.”
You flinched back instinctively, the panic still clawing at you, threatening to consume you entirely. Your breaths came too fast, though you didn’t need to breathe anymore, and the world blurred around you as the panic attack took hold.
Carlisle’s brows furrowed in concern, but he didn’t move closer, sensing that you needed space. “I know it’s too much right now,” he murmured, his tone gentle and measured. “Everything feels too loud, too intense. But you’re safe here. I promise.”
Safe. That word pierced through the haze of your panic. You clung to it like a lifeline, your wide eyes meeting his. He slowly lowered himself to your level, sitting on the forest floor, keeping his movements unthreatening.
“May I talk you through this?” he asked, his voice like a soft hum against the chaos. When you gave the smallest nod, he continued. “Focus on just one thing at a time. The sound of my voice. Let everything else fade away for a moment.”
You tried. You latched onto his voice, letting it guide you, letting it soothe the razor-sharp edges of the world around you. His voice was steady, calm, and you found that the pounding began to ease.
“There you go,” he said gently, offering you the faintest of smiles. “You’re doing so well. You’ve been through so much, but you’re not alone anymore.”
When everything slowed, he held out his hand, not to grab you, but an offering, an anchor. “Let me take you somewhere safe. Somewhere quiet.”
Hesitating for only a moment, you took his hand, his touch warm despite his cold skin. He guided you through the forest and into a warm, inviting house nestled among the trees. Inside, the sounds were softer, the air calm. The woman who introduced herself as Esme, and as his sister, greeted you with a kind smile, though she gave you space as Carlisle explained what had happened.
As the night went on, Carlisle stayed close, sitting beside you as you adjusted to the quieter atmosphere. He explained everything you were experiencing, how your heightened senses worked, and how you could learn to manage them.
You felt drawn to him, not just because he had saved you, but because of the steady warmth he exuded. He didn’t push you, didn’t rush you, and seemed to understand you in a way that no one else had before. There was something else, too, something that tugged at you, a deep connection you couldn’t yet name.
And though the world still felt sharp and overwhelming, Carlisle’s presence dulled the edges, offering you the first glimmer of peace since you’d woken up to this new, chaotic existence. You weren’t sure what lay ahead, but with him by your side, you felt like you might be able to face it.

Rosalie (reader's bestie) takes them out to get something for Jasper's birthday
Gift Shopping for Jasper's Birthday (ft. Rosalie)
"Why are you bothering? We've lived for so long, birthdays have become gratuitous." Rosalie points out to you when you ask her to accompany you to Port Angeles to find Jasper a birthday present
"I know." You sheepishly smile. "But I haven't known him for that long and I want him to know how grateful I am to this day because it's when he came into the world."
Internally she finds this a sweet sentiment but on her outside facade she rolls her eyes. "If you say so."
You know the real Rosalie. She wasn't this frosty person. Like a hard shell candy with a gooey center. When Edward read your thoughts of this description of his sister he full heartedly agreed.
The main problem you faced was what to get someone who had everything. The Cullens were richer than anyone really realized. If Jasper desired anything, he could just get it himself.
He looks good in scarves you think to yourself when perusing through the men's department. But when you look at the price, your hands immediately release the ultra plush article. You worry that even your fingerprints might have tarnished the scarf. Praying no one witnessed you handling it.
You wanted to give Jasper a nice, thoughtful present. The gifts you really wanted to get him were far out of your budget.
While you fret and ponder, Rosalie watches you from nearby.
She quietly releases her sigh and strolls over to help you so that you don't have a panic attack. "You know he'll like anything you get him. A pair of socks would be fine."
"A pair of socks doesn't convey how much I love him!" You huff and puff.
At least when she sees how much this means to you Rosalie really starts putting her suggestions out there. Alleviating some of your worry, she helps steer you the right way. "He really will love anything you get him. Just trust in yourself. You know his core."
After all, you were only human. You couldn't bond with him eternally unless you decide to become a vampire. (and though you love him, you were still young and definitely not ready for that kind of commitment). But you would do your best to show him in any way possible your devotion and adoration.

okay so what would cullen and august do with a reader that went insane from capitivity? like, really bad moodswings- laughing randomly out of nowhere, having the weirdest and most disordered logic ever, and so on. this has been bouncing around in my head for an hour ;_;
Oooh I like this idea!!
Cullen would be trying to hold it together for both you and August's sake, but he wouldn't be able to not hide his concern and heartbreak whenever he sees you do or say certain things. He'd sadly stare at you whenever you have a mood swing or start laughing, but wouldn't leave the room, simply because he can't handle the thought of leaving you alone like this.
August would break down in sobs very frequently since he's so worried for you. He'd try to hold you when you say concerning things, and would refuse to leave you alone unless Cullen says he can watch you, just so August can get his bearings together, since sometimes his worry for you can develop into panic attacks.
Every now and then Cullen would get upset and raise his voice, since he just sometimes does that when scared for you, but he's always extremely quick to apologize.

”you don’t have anything to be sorry for”
For Carlisle, please? ❤️
A/N: Decided to stick these two prompts together!
If a heart had existed within your ribcage, you knew it would be pounding. Distant reminders of the feeling had your fists clenching and your teeth gritting. Ghosts of anxiety attacks flit around your head, clawing to be set free in the bitter form of pins and needles and laboured breathing and a sick churning in the stomach.
You took a deep, unneeded breath as you walked briskly down the corridor. Nobody was following you just yet. Your footsteps were the only ones rushing along the polished floor towards your father's room.
Your arm reached out to grasp the door handle, but it swing open before you could touch it, your terrified eyes meeting the concern of Carlisle Cullen’s. With a quick, meaningful glance behind and around you, he gently grasped your arm and pulled you in, shutting the door behind them.
Your crashed into him immediately. You buried your face in his chest and wrapped your arms around him tight. Those ghosts had not left yet, they were still begging to be released. You clenched your fists around his tunic and squeezed your eyes shut.
Carlisle, with little difficulty, removed your arms from him and grasped you by the shoulders. He leant to your level and tilted his head to catch your gaze.
“Y/N, sweet girl,” he whispered, “calm yourself. Calm down.”
You desperately shook your head. “I wasn’t thinking, Papa. I let him go because I liked him. I didn’t want Aro to kill him. I wasn’t thinking! Was I wrong? Will Aro kill me now?”
Carlisle stood to his feet and drew you quickly into his arms. A hand went to the back of your head, and he pressed his lips to your crown, hushing you gently. He'd felt your panic before he'd heard your rushed steps down the corridor, and had deciphered the situation the moment he'd seen you.
You were your father's daughter, a compassionate creature to the core. Aro had picked from the cream of the crop just the other week, a young boy of about fifteen, and had paraded him around Volterra. Playing with his food. You had befriended him somewhat, if exchanging smiles and a few words here and then counted as befriending. A life in the Volturi didn't offer much friendship, so it had been somewhat easy.
You’d known Aro would get bored soon and take his life, and Carlisle had known that you were far too like him to allow that to happen.
You had let the boy escape. And Carlisle knew he had been waiting for it, for some excuse to leave. He wasn't going to stick around to see how Aro would react to his bolted meal.
"No," Carlisle said. He kissed the top of your head and pushed you gently away, spinning on his heel. "No, we are leaving. Pack your things."
You moved quickly and quietly, packing the belongings you had moved with you from state to state, country to country. Carlisle kept his ears alert, every bone in his body at the ready.
"I'm sorry," you said eventually.
"You have nothing to be sorry for," Carlisle said, taking your hand. "Nothing."
He was thanking the heavens.
