You didn't even imagine he would be so serious about you, you thought you were something of a 'friends with benefits' minus the friends part. He was secretive, mysterious, whenever you bring up what he does for a living he'd say 'chief of security', anything beyond that was classified. That should send the red sirens in your head blaring but it didn't. It only intrigued you more.

He'd show up after days, without texting you or calling you. But when he did, he made sure you knew how much you meant to him—with his words and actions. Man was a charming, smooth talker. He bought you expensive things when you didn't ask for them.

You often teased and called him, 'Sugar daddy.'

He'd roll eyes playfully and tell you he is not that old. You'd giggle and kiss his lips, making him smile through it.

This was one of those moments. He came to visit you.

Did you possess his heart? Donnie had fucked many women for fun, to relieve frustration, for pleasure in the past. He even had relationships with a couple of ladies before he got deployed but none of them were serious, none of them came close to even grazing his heart. But you, you were his everything, his heart.

"Darlin'," his lips curved up to reveal his goldtooth. His mechanical hand pulled you closer by your waist, his flesh hand hungrily touching your face, sliding down to explore your breasts.

You didn't know what you were thinking. Donald Pierce is a possessive man would be an understatement. But you loved to push his buttons.

When his lips smashed against yours in a greedy passion, you slid your hand to 'wipe his kiss.' He froze, startled. His steel blue eyes were puzzled. You could see hints of something primal and carnal.

"What was that?"

"What?" you feigned innocence.

He grabbed you by your jaw, and he kissed you again in fervent passion.

Once again, you managed to slide your palm between your lips and 'wipe' it.

That's it.

"What the hell was that?"

"Wha-"

"Don't fuck with me."

Were you getting tired of him? Of this relationship? Fear crept in his bones, but he didn't show it.

You couldn't contain your laughter anymore. "Sorry, baby, it was just a prank," you place your hands on his cheek.

He let out an annoyed growl.

"I missed you" you breathed in his cologne, sighing softly.

"Don't ever pull that shit again."

He was terrified of losing you. You were the one good thing in his life. But of course, he would never show it.

"I missed your sweet ass too," he admitted almost softly, his flesh arm met the curve of your ass with a loud slap. There, the usual grin was back. He buried his face on the crook of your neck, your perfume was familiar and it calmed him down.

You did wipe off his kiss, but he gave you 'gifts' of his marks all over your body to remind who you belonged to before he left.

And you loved every single one of them. Every mark was a reminder of his touch, his promise, his passion, his love for you.

A worn dull grey cowboy hat sat on your head, paired with a blue denim shirt and blue denim jeans, a brown leather belt and a golden belt buckle, and as you looked over at Donald, you grinned; behind you, the beat up and dirty black pickup truck felt hot to the touch, in the direct line of the afternoon sun. Your boots looked a lot like that truck as you crossed your ankles and lit up a cigarette, leaning against the cool wall in the shade. 

“Did you have to drag me along here?” You asked, raising a brow. 

Donald shrugged, angling his hand in the sunlight so that when the light bounced off of it, it hit you directly in the eye, making you laugh as you looked away. “I like having you around, sue me.” 

“I haven’t got the money for that,” you scoffed. “You ought to know, I mean, I still been able to pay you back for that lift you gave me the other month.” 

He looked you up and down for a moment, daring to laugh as he tilted his head to the side and folded his arms across his chest, the softest of hums coming from the back of his throat; when you first met, you were little more than a mutant with a gift for talking to animals, working at rodeos as a rider and occasionally helping out with rattlesnake problems, moving them back to where they belonged, in their natural habitat. When you first met, Donald took a shine to you more than anyone else before; he liked that you made him laugh, and that you got along well. He liked you a lot, and even now that you were occasionally being dragged along when he needed someone slightly less violent than him during business meetings, he still liked you just as much. 

Scratching the back of his neck, Donald cleared his throat as he stole another glance at you, that damn smug smile not leaving him for even a second. “I wish I knew how to quit you.” 

“Don’t quote Brokeback Mountain at me,” you grumbled, shaking your head.

But you soon shut up when he walked over, and by the time that you dropped your cigarette, he had his hands on the collar of your denim shirt as he pushed you back against the wall firmly, using his left hand to knock the hat from your head before he planted both hands on your neck. Keeping you still as he kissed you roughly, harshly, making you cling onto his jacket as you prayed that he would stay so close. You really wanted him to stay close as he kissed you so harshly, taking the breath from your lungs as he pinned you against the wall. You had never been kissed like that before, with such brutality that you worried your lips were going to bruise, but you didn’t want it to end; not even when your body started begging for air, you didn’t want it to end. But then Donald pulled back, smiling and humming softly as he gripped your chin with his metal forefinger and thumb, forcing you to keep your eyes on him as he tilted his head and swiped his tongue along his bottom lip; you tasted better than anything he had had before. You tasted like a strong whisky on a winter’s evening, making him want to savour it, to remember the taste on the tip of his tongue for the rest of his years. 

“Kiss me again,” you breathed out, eyes a little wider than usual as you swallowed thickly and tugged at his jacket, begging him to get closer. “Please. Donald… kiss me again.” 

He looked at your lips for a moment, able to feel how your harsh breath hit his skin so heavily, panting, and slowly, he moved his hand around to the base of your throat, nearly laughing when you whimpered so softly; almost like reciting a prayer for him. Just for him. “You want me to choke you while I kiss you?”

“Yes,” you whispered, and when Donald squeezed your throat as he kissed you harshly once more, you couldn’t stop yourself from damn near melting against the scalding metal against your skin. Just a rodeo rider, that’s all you were, just a rodeo rider and yet Donald had taken such a bright shine to you that he couldn’t keep his damn hands off of you anymore. Just a rodeo rider. 

“Mine,” Donald growled upon pulling away, nipping at your bottom lip as he chuckled lowly, the sound of it harsh and thunderous against your lips. “All mine, and don’t you dare forget it, cowboy. Or else.” 

You smiled, daring to let go of his jacket so that you could put your hands on his shoulders. “Or else what?”

“Or else I’m gonna have to remind you,” he leaned in real close, his lips against your ear, his voice dropping so quiet and so low that it would have been hard to hear him anywhere else. “I’m gonna have to make everyone see exactly who you belong to - all your little rodeo friends, all my men. Every-goddamn-last one of ‘em… can’t have you runnin’ off with someone else, can I?”

“Don’t you think this is a little fast?” You asked teasingly, licking your lips as you did your best not to laugh ever so softly. 

“Fast or slow,” he growled. “I just like the direction we’re going - don’t you?”

“Yeah, I do,” you breathed out, nodding as you went to grab the lapels of his jacket again. “Now, are you gonna kiss me again, or are you gonna make me wait for it?”

“I think I might make you wait,” Donald mused. “I’ve never heard a rodeo rider beg before - I wanna know how it sounds.” 

“You’ll be waiting a long time,” you told him gently. “You know that, don’t you?”

“I don’t think I will,” he chuckled. “C’mon, we better get to this meeting - I made sure there ain’t enough chairs, just so you can sit on my lap.”

Donald Trump, who led a seditious conspiracy against the United States government, has yet another new lawyer. If you're wondering what sort of person would agree to represent Donald Trump despite a history of Trump-allied lawyers going to prison, facing potential disbarment, never getting paid, and/or becoming national laughingstocks, meet Joe Tacopina. Tacopina's been doing his best to become an Important Television Lawyer, now that he's in Trump's employ. It hasn't been going well.

Actually, we're going to need to revise that. "Hasn't been going well" is when you hold a big important press conference and your hair dye starts dribbling down your head like your brain just blew a head gasket and it's going to be a very, very expensive repair. Tacopina's more a fan of the "What if I intentionally pierced the veil of my client's dodgy corporate shell company during a televised interview?" sort of Bad Day Haver.

WHOOPS. BIG HUGE WHOOPS. One of the things you do not want to do, when you are defending your new client from many crimes and civil lawsuits and possible exorcisms or what have you, is stipulate on camera that the shell company your client hides his money in is actually his "personal funds," blowing up the distinction between the two and making it easy for litigants to scrape money out of both places instead of just one. That is a Lionel Hutz bad court thingy right there.

Even worse, imagine blowing up a significant part of your own defense in an interview with Chuck Todd. That's like being clubbed to death by a Teletubby.

Don't worry, Joe can fix this. He went to big-time lawyer school, he knows how to win back a jury.

The harsh cold water was beating against your back as you hung your head and closed your eyes, the smell of shampoo thick in the air as you sighed and tried to push him from your thoughts, thankful that your close friend Quentin had let you stay with him while your roommate Sam was out of town; the sound of the water clashing against the bottom of the shower was all you could hear. You just wanted to get rid of every single thought of Donald. You clenched your jaw. Hopefully Quentin would be home soon, and he could take your mind off of Donald by watching some truly fucking awful horror films throughout the night; maybe that would work, and maybe spending time with friends could cure what you were going through. Maybe.

You didn't even hear the bathroom door open, nor did you hear someone clear their throat as they sat with their back against the door and their forearms on their knees as they looked around; you weren't even aware someone was in there with you.

But Donald didn't think much of it, either, he had seen you naked plenty of times and he didn't exactly care anyway; more than anything, he just wanted to talk to you about something that was more than pressing. But he wasn't going to say anything, he wanted to surprise you when you turned around; leaning his head back so that it was against the white wooden door as he closed his eyes for a moment, letting out a soft grumble.

"Fucking bastard!" You yelped, hand on your chest as you breathed heavily and glared at him. "Donald, what the fuck?!"

"I have to talk to you," he said calmly, as if he wasn't barging in at a private time.

You ran a hand down your face, shaking your head. "Can you not walk in while I'm in the shower?"

"What? I wanted to talk to you," he pressed, but he waited. Nothing but the sound of the shower as you finished, switching the water off and stepping out; you wrapped a towel around your waist.

"Fine. Talk."

Donald cleared his throat, licking his lips as he looked you up and down, every inch of you was magnificent; every little scar and spot was more than brilliant, but he sighed. "I can't stop thinking about you, I haven't since we kissed at Zemo's party."

Zemo. He would kick your ass if he found out that you had let Donald barge into you while you were in the shower, even if he didn't care if Sam or Quentin did the same; Zemo got along well with them, but Donald... he didn't trust Donald as far as he could throw him, and he was always warning you against getting too close to him. But if the truth were told, you couldn't stay away; you couldn't stop thinking about Donald, either, and even worse, you didn't want him to leave you alone, even if your friends demanded he do otherwise.

"C'mon, you can't deny that it was fun," Donald continued, "or did I hear wrong when you told me you wanted more?"

You swallowed thickly, shaking your head as you started to dry yourself off. "I mean... yeah, I did want more, but it was just one little kiss, it's not like you asked me to be your husband."

He grumbled, passing you your jogging bottoms. "So, what? You want me to fuck off? Baby... you're the only man for me."

"But that's the thing," you pointed out. "I'm not, am I? I mean, you're going out every fucking night, not giving a shit about anybody - how do I know you're not fucking snogging over blokes?"

"Because," Donald stood up, putting his hands on your arms as he flashed a smile, tilting his head to the side. "I don't fuck around. I want you, (y/n)."

"But what about my friends?" You asked, tugging on your shirt and leaning against the sink as you frowned, brows furrowed and daring to fold your arms across your chest. "You know most of 'em don't like you enough as it is."

But he smiled, shaking his head as he planted the sweetest of kisses to the side of your neck, humming quietly as he pulled you a little closer and buried his face against the soft flesh. "Oh, baby, you think I care?"

"No, but-"

"Tell you what," his voice was sending shivers down your spine from how low he kept it, how he almost growled against you. "I'm gonna go get something to eat, I'll make you something as well, and then I'm gonna show you exactly what you mean to me - that sound good?"

sandman - unpopular opinion the show should NOT alter the comix ending. also hob gadling should not get shoehorned into a "bigger role" in subsequent seasons. i live in terror of what changes s2 is making to the comix canon as we speak...totally understand combining minor character arcs for coherence/time, obviously an advocate for More Nonwhite Representation, definitely think that there needs to be sensitivity and nuance with regard to things that did not age well. but as i've said before, i'm...nervous...about the neilman's ongoing engagement with fandom.

my thoughts: i'm obsessed with them. fascinating how much respect Pierce afforded Gabby. them both being absolute comix nerds?? love that the two heads of major sectors of Rice's x-23 operation were major fans of the Wolverine, that seems like the kind of thing one should screen for in the interviews if your goal is mutant child soldiers.

what makes me happy about them: i really think Gabby would be SUCH a good dog owner for Pierce. i like thinking about her redirecting all his smarts into something productive (for both of them), i like imagining the What Could Have Been if they hadn't ended up as ideological opposites - she's the one who takes action for what she believes is right, he's the one who takes action and desperately wants to justify it as right. them both being obsessed with the Wolverine! i like imagining them getting wine drunk and bitching at each other over which of them Logan would go for.

what makes me sad about them: canon, obvs. that we don't get to see more of their interactions. that Gabby gets elided into the implication of her death, and Pierce plays it as a morbid joke to Logan.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: ain't enough fic of them!

my kinks: CLEARLY some level of pet play. let Gabby put a collar on that man! like all bhol characters, i think Pierce needs a clear sense of being owned to feel fulfilled. also this lets us play with the whole "owing" her thing, whether it's a post-canon where they both somehow survived or her pulling him out of A-T before it's too late. we looooooooove uneven power dynamics. also toward that end, orgasm denial (for Pierce), some kind of TPE, making him beg.

who i'd be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: man, i'm too poly to have an OTP in any fandom. obviously they should get to fuck Logan.

my happily ever after for them: ideally the movie ends when Pierce gets into Logan's car like a creep: Logan just drives him to Gabriella and Laura and then all of them make a run for Canada. alternatively, i have a fond spot for an au where Gabby rescues Pierce instead of Laura.

These are the things I knew about the show before:

Alison Brie was in it.

There was an episode with Puppets.

The "GAAAAYYY" meme

The "I can excuse racism.." meme

So, I was honestly surprised that it was really really good. Like, I was laughing out loud. I had to pause to laugh because I couldn't focus.

I love the randomness. I know most shows are 10 episodes long so they don't have time for that, but it'll be amazing if they come back to that.

Imagine a Yellowjacket episode before the crash where they do something like the paintball episodes, or Jackie loses her necklace so no one is leaving the dressing room until it shows up.

Anyways, I really like Community. It was a mess after season 3 (Season 4 is somehow enjoyable, but the rest was just blah)

Of course, Annie was my favorite because I'm in love with Alison Brie, but every character was so special (except Pierce). I don't even like Donald Glover and I was crying like a baby when he left the show.

I had to take a deep breath every time there was a racist, homophobic, or misogynistic joke.

Also, you can see the show is written by a man because Annie is constantly sexualized and Britta was dumbed down in a way that you can barely remember how she was at the beginning of the show.

They couldn't have Annie and Britta being strong independent women at the same time, so they gave the character development to Annie because she was the feminine and adorable one who had chemistry with Jeff, and like I said, Annie was my favorite character, but they butcher Britta's character.

I knew about Chang's character but not about the Dean. Like, hello? One of the best characters on the show.

Abed and Troy are amazing characters. I cried like a loser for them. Abed was something else and don't you eve dare to compare them to Sheldon.

I'll definitely recommend the show to anyone who likes fun. I'm not expecting anything from the movie. I just hope all the characters come back.

E: If you wrote a sequel to [King], what would it be about?

Well, this one's tough because I don't have the full story in King and Lionheart to go off of. I imagine it would involve the Corinthian tracking down the cause of Lee's untimely death and... let's just say, bringing swift justice to whoever's involved. But honestly I haven't really thought about a sequel for that one.

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

I have no freaking clue. I revise as I go, and then do one final sweep when I post it to AO3 (largely because I need to input all the bolds and italics that don't transfer over). Usually when I open the document, I start by re-reading what i did on the previous day and editing it before I add more.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

Not really? Even if I managed to find the absolute best writer in the world, it wouldn't be the same story as if I wrote it myself. That's not a vanity thing, just that there's a way I want these stories to go and it wouldn't be quite the same if someone wrote them for me

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

I avidly avoid ABO stuff, I find it intensely uncomfortable. Or anything that involves strict possessiveness or domineering, really. I can appreciate a character who is protective of their significant other, but I have problems when it veers into possessiveness.

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

(To keep this even, I'm avoiding writers that I'm friends with. Bestie I love your writing and there's several others on here too that have INCREDIBLE writing styles and easily make the favorites list, but I want to stay 100% impartial)

sunstones on AO3 - They haven't posted anything in a while, but I was an absolutely avid follower of their Spider-Man fics. They have an incredible penchant for descriptions and extended metaphors, a writing style that's chock-full of hidden details and foreshadowing

a_reader_and_a_writer on AO3 - They've written oneshots and drabbles for easily a half-dozen of my favorite characters, and every single one is delightfully written and effortlessly in-character

brigid1318 on AO3 - Similarly, they haven't posted in a while, but they were one of the first authors I read when I got into fanfic. Not only is their writing style absolutely lovely and their plots delightfully unique, they offered support on one of my earliest fics (even though it had to be a bit of a struggle to read through, since I was still pretty new to writing) and are a big part of why I'm so active in writing now

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Hmm... this is a little tough because so many of the fics I read are unfinished, so I don't know how they'll end or where a sequel would go. In terms of finished fics, I'll go with The Demons Within by your_dragon_just_shot_at_me, it's a crossover between X-Men and Doctor Strange, and it's just so wonderfully unique and well-written that I'd love more! (plus so few people write for Alex Summers, I want more wherever I can get it lol)

For fics I'd love to see an update/continuation on, I'll go with The Empty World by strawberry_jam_and_sunsets. Again, such an interesting premise and main character, and wonderfully in-character for Donald Pierce. It's a slowburn too, so I'm currently dying of tension waiting for an update!!

W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?

I think it depends? If I'm writing something small, like a warmup drabble to spark motivation, I'd rather have something specific. That way I can think more about the characters without having to worry about what direction I'm going with it, and I can get warmed up for more "high-intensity" writing later.

But if I'm writing something longer, like a gift fic, I'd rather have a more general prompt so the final product can still be a surprise.
