I haven't read the book the image above is posted of, however the link it was paired with seems to bring up a page with various pictures of what I would consider valuable information. I'm not sure if these pages are all from the same book nor what these books are, however they share very thoughtful insight. The page I shared is something I deeply agree with as it is how I perceive the experience that is my life at this point. Learning how to fail forward to the point where it is simply your nature is truly life changing. There is strength in humility.

like, If i'm not good at math, then what am i really meant for?

i have been avoiding thinking that way because i genuinely enjoy math, and i'm afraid that questioning my skills might shatter my confidence and enthusiasm. the thought of losing that spark that keeps me going is just scary. but i realized that it's time to face the fact that i lack skills. it hurts, no doubt but on the bright side, it means i have so much more room for growth. there's more about math that i am yet to discover, and that excites me in a way!!! however, i'm also aware of the pressure to keep up with the fast pace of university life, and that can be overwhelming :( despite that, i'm hopeful and looking forward to my growth. i keep wondering how much progress i'll make in a few years if i stick with it and refuse to give up. i'm genuinely excited to see myself evolve and improve in math; i really wanna see it through 💌

Hey can you tell us about a lose in business and how you overcame it?

Ohhhhh my losses happen daily. And large losses can happen monthly. but i always learn from them.

What to comes to mind is my first (and only) 1 star review on my booking website.

A young lady came in for feed in braids and after her wash i realized that her edge hair was sculpted to disguise a huge bald spot between that and her hairline and where her hair started.

I immediately volunteered to assign her to the other braider (who is amazing with feed in braids over balding spots). But she was busy and couldn't do anything for me.

I take every loss as a lesson so at least it retains its value and I dont repeat the mistakes. My lessons were:

✨ if you want to go above and beyond dont go in blind. you have to know what you're starting from to understand if the impact you need to make for your client aligns with your skillset. Anything else is a waste of both of your time.

✨ never rely on others to bail you out. take full responsibility with your client about your mistakes/ignorance. learn from this and do your best to make it the only time you make this mistake. it's the only thing that helps anyone.

✨ your online presence is important. people will find you and pass you by depending on what's written in this space. be mindful to give people a reason to give you a glowing review. they have options.

i love that isafrin can be the most straightforwardly romancey, wholesome pairing on a surface level and then you go one (1) level deeper and run into siffrin’s seething guilt and convoluted feelings around touch and intimacy and the extent to which they want or don’t want those things in a specifically romantic way or if he was trying to seek connection and love in any way he could once he knew that Isabeau wanted those things from him in that context, and the combined power trip/self disgust at “manipulating” Isabeau’s desires without his knowledge to make themself feel wanted and in control. and then you keep going and there’s also Isabeau’s own warped self image (still, in spite of all his changes, fearing that he’s someone that would be shameful to know), his “emotionally stable pillar” role and self-taught therapy talk masking his deep fears of real confrontation (struggling loop after loop to confess, not wanting Odile to confront Siffrin about their weird behavior in the sus quest bathroom talk) and how Siffrin’s fear of vulnerability and Isabeau’s fear of Pushing Too Hard allow both of their issues to fester unspoken long after it’s clear that the problems exist.

all this to say. duality of isafrin. makes my heart full and warm and happy to see the sweet, fluffy, silly love and connection between them (mutually romantic or otherwise). and then also. the delicious, delicious complications. gnawing on them like a dog with a beloved bone
