~Go! Princess Pretty Cure Masterlist~
~ When you first met Pafu, she was introduced to you as Kirara’s child actress friend, who was learning to play the role of a maid. You watched as she clumsily did chores around the dorms, though with plenty of determination. Your heart melted the more you watched. She was just the sweetest, most adorable little girl you’ve ever seen.
~ She’s very friendly; going around the building, greeting everyone with a “Good day to you!”. Though, she seemed to take a liking to you for whatever reason. This was no issue, of course. You were more than happy to interact with the precious girl. Little did you know, behind the scenes, little Pafu would continue to beg Shamour to turn her human, just so she could keep talking to the nice adult she met. That adult being you, of course.
~ Not expecting to see her again, you were delighted when she returned. And you were even more so when you learned that she came to see you specifically! You had no clue why Pafu likes you so much, and frankly, she didn’t either. The two of you just clicked!
~ Your relationship became reminiscent of the sweet neighbor’s kid who’d come visit at any given opportunity. She’d randomly show up, giving you an adorable drawing she made. She’d ramble to you about anything and anything, and she likes hearing you do the same!
~ Pafu loves being helpful, especially to those she looks up to. So no matter what kind of tasks you have daily, she’ll always offer to assist you! It doesn’t matter how many times you try to tell her that the stack of books would be too heavy for her to carry. Her only wake up call would be falling due to the height and weight. She’d burst into tears, but not because of the pain. She was just ashamed, as she thought she had disappointed you. But some reassurance and a hug later, she’s as good as new!
~ Since she sees you as her family member, she wants you to get along with her actual family member: her older brother, Aroma! She’s so excited when introduces you to him! She wishes hard for the two of you to become friends. Whether or not that happens, she still continues to love the both of you as much as she always has!
~ One day, she’d accidentally call you “Mama/Papa” or something along those lines. It would slip out when she’s really excited about something. Immediately, she’d freeze up, flustered about what she said. She’d grip her dress tightly, trying to stop herself from crying out of embarrassment, all while avoiding eye contact. Assurance and acceptance from you would only make her cry harder, but this time, out of happiness! And if you’re okay with it, she’d continue to call you that name!

Batboys watching anime with reader
You know my ass went FULL ON LOCK MODE with Tim. I went crazy- 💀
***S/o is above 18, which means characters below are also aged up!
Doing requests until 1 Feb! Please see my pinned post and read the request rules on the navi! Thank you!🩷
Batbros watching anime with you
Dick Grayson
He’s watched a few 90s anime before, more the basic ones like One Piece and Pokémon, and he probably still watches them to this day. Boy has old CDs he has and you should probably try finding a Blue Ray (or use his if he can have Tim help fix it because it’s good as dead 💀) because he’s popping in every CD of old anime’s he have lying about.
“Wow, I didn’t know I had cowboy bebop! Or Slam Dunk!” He got a few rare gems, which makes it all the more fun to sit down on the couch under a blanket as you huddle and watch the nostalgic 90s anime shows together while eating popcorn.
He doesn’t mind watching new, modern day animes, just be prepared for when you two watch sad anime shows because he will sob like it’s the end of the world.
“NO, WHY WOULD KAORI DIE LIKE THIS?? AND SHE LOVES ARIMA- OH MY GOD IM SO—”sobs even more. He gets emotional while watching them because it’s so sad that it’s sO GOOD-
Loves dancing to those danceable anime music with you. He goes ALL. OUT. He even sings all of it in Japanese like wow-
I would love to hear him sing Cruel Angel’s Thesis in his Discowing suit and with goth makeup on it because it “sets the mood”, PLEASE-
Overall, great time watching with Dick. <3
Jason Todd
You expect someone like him to like Chainsaw Man, Trigun or something like those grunge-y, guns and knives animes, right? I mean, he does, but only with you and ONLY with you will he let his inner Magical Girl enthusiast ass shine. Because he LOVES Magical Girl animes. That’s probably the reason and one point of time why he wore red ribbons around his arms, he wanted that Sailor Moon experience and Tim might’ve just teased him about that era without knowing his love for Magical Girl animes and Jason might’ve flipped and freaked the fuck out and started chasing him down the manor.
Jason watches Sailor Moon, Madoka when he feels edgier than usual, Cardcaptor Sakura, every Precure series, Tokyo Mew Mew, man has all these shows somehow. He swears they weren’t through illegal means and he just worked very hard to gather all of them. He also might be a shoujo anime fan because if he loves Jane Austen books, you bet his ass would be reading Fruits Basket, Maid Sama or something because of course he would.
Also a Studio Ghibli fan, although watching the Tale of Princess Kaguya might make him feel too much, especially getting pissed off with the dad who forces his daughter into a wealthy life without her input and- yeah, you gotta calm him down as he cries bitterly and sourly with a pout on his face.
The two of you can go on and on about debating about unclear endings of animes all day long. You know the “AND SHE WAS A PRINCESS” video? That’s Jason.
Great man to watch anime with, and he’ll gladly be your Tuxedo Mask to your Sailor Moon (and not the “But you did nothing meme- or the other way around- he don’t mind being the Usagi-). <3
Tim Drake
I’m very convinced this man got into his whole detective shit because he watched Detective Conan and honestly I can’t blame him. Tim has probably the largest vessel of anime knowledge out of all of them. He doesn’t really have a specific genre he likes but he’s pretty fond of old 90s and 80s animes. He can explain the whole lore of One Piece, Fairytale, Pokémon like Jesus Tim, calm down- 💀
I can see him watching Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain or Key the Metal Doll because he likes that little bit of horror nature and mystery and thriller in his animes although he really doesn’t mind watching Haikyuu all over again if you want to.
Might introduce you to underrated and/or old animes like Revolutionary Girl Utena, Nadia the Secrets of Blue Water, every Studio Ghibli movie, those kinds of animes that give off the really pretty and aesthetic old anime animations that is just so pretty to watch and with really good storylines that both of you can cuddle on a couch together and watch. I bet he even watches anime with you even before you two got together, so you guys pretty much have “watching anime together” as part of the foundation of your relationship. Owns so much manga that you can’t even count, too.
Just… don’t make him watch those really slow burn, comedy love animes, specifically Love War. Not that he don’t like romance animes, he watches Ouran High School Host Club and Your Name, trust me, but Love War? He is going absolutely insane because of it.
“OH MY GOD- PLEASE JUST KISS ALREADY. ME AND S/O ARE ALREADY TOGETHER FIVE MONTHS AGO ANF YOU TWO ARE STILL TOO PROUD TO ADMIT YOU LOVE EACH OTHER WHILE BLUSHING- JUST KISS ALREADY-” <3
Damian Wayne
Damian likes anime. Would 100% go to an anime convention with you as a date if you’re up for it. He doesn’t mind (surprisingly- just for you only-).
He doesn’t necessarily like showmen animes although he has enjoyed a few, but he really loves slice of life, I feel. It just feels like he wants to put himself in a normal life and with a tad bit of drama in it like what the characters go through. The touching ones like Hyouka or Natsume’s Book of Friends.
Also animal related anime maybe except Beastars because he didn’t understand shit-?? He calls that peak anime. Aggretsuko, Chi’s Sweet Home and My Roommate is a Cat?? Damian loves this shit, he watches it intently with his arm around you. Even if he doesn’t smile, you know he loves it by the way his eyes sparkle.
Just don’t tell his brothers. He will seriously feel betrayed if you do so because he only watches these kinds of shows with you: the cute animal ones that are actually wholesome and/or funny.
The whole family is into Studio Ghibli, and he is no exception. He feels like it’s the best kinds of anime to watch with you when you guys just want to turn in for the day and huddle up on the couch. It’s one of the rare times he relaxes and softens and he’s glad to have quality time with you. <3
Duke Thomas
He likes anime! Studio Ghibli is definitely a favourite of his and he would gladly watch it together with you! He also love a fair bit of Shounen animes, the more popular ones like Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Haikyuu, or Spy x Family. He likes them a lot!
A big fan of romance animes too: Ouran High School Host Club and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (if you two are in the mood to huddle on the couch together and cry).
Duke doesn’t mind any kind of anime so long as it doesn’t have too much horror or gore like… Higurashi. He gets chills when that anime is mentioned. D-Don’t watch it for your own sake if you don’t know. And if you do, avoid it with him at all cost because he will.
Duke also like singing some good anime songs with you and you guys can go crazy and dance around, just not as dramatic as Dick.
He would be super excited to spend a date with you watching shounen anime movies like from Jujutsu Kaisen and he would be so hype to spend time with you being a fanboy while also sharing that romantic air for the shared love of anime between you two and the love that you two share, although that love is far stronger. <3

Making a Go Princess Precure Au called "Go! Princess Precure: Kingdom" which will work in a way as a sequel. Taking place between after "defeating" Dysclose and before an adult. Thought it would be fun to make a story that fills in the gap and how Haruka was able to actually become a princess in the adult world. This story may explore dark themes, but its also mostly for me to practice writing/drawing. Which will give you (my dearest gentle readers) a sliver of what my main story Eternia: Fantasy Legends is like (its the story Acendus Joren Valacia Nexume is from)

for no reason, 10 Precure Toys that are the coolest
I'd say Top 10 but I can't rate them really and I'll definitely miss a few, so in no particular order.
Miracle Belltier and Fantastic Belltier (Suite Precure)
I think I like the Fantastic Belltier (white) more than the Miracle, but what I especially love about these is how there are three different attacks you can do depending on whether the two pieces are connected, split apart, or (the coolest one), if you have both of them, you can switch the pieces with each other
like what the hell. it sounds like a pain to have to recreate and maybe it was just a way to force people to buy both of them but also that's just the coolest idea
2. Pinky Catch (Yes! Precure 5)
I just think watches are the coolest transformation devices. It makes sense you carry them around, they're pretty gender-neutral, and can be a fashion accessory to boot. The Pinky Catch is an LCD toy, so it's a bit limited in its flashiness, but it does have a gimmick where you can open and close the 'lid'.
3. Flower Tact (Heartcatch Precure)
From what I can tell, Heartcatch was where they started moving away from LCD toys with limited audio capability (for the transformation devices at least), and I think that was a great decision. And the Kokoro Perfume is great. But what I love about the Flower Tact is the spinning. Physically spinning that rainbow wheel around just *looks* fun to do. The Shiny Tambourine also has that and I think it's great.
4. Love Heart Arrow (Doki Doki Precure)
Magical girl weapons that actually look like real-life weapons are the coolest. It feels pretty gross that the girls have to fight using makeup when the boys get to have swords and guns all the time. And the bow is in Doki Doki Precure's logo, so it's like it's an important part of the series. It doesn't look like the 'arrow' has much weight to it when you pull it back, which is a shame, but I guess this is also for children.
5. Fortune Piano (Happiness Charge Precure)
I do wish this one had a bit more functionality, it doesn't even have a card reader to register the cards you place in them, but I love electronic keyboards and this one has physical keys you press down as opposed to a touch screen mimicking a keyboard.
6. Princess Perfume (Go! Princess Precure)
I really do like both this and the perfume from Heartcatch, but this one has a neat gimmick where the more you press the button, the lower the light goes as if it's 'losing' liquid from the bottle, so it gives it a bit more to it. I just think it's a really solid transformation device. Nice design, nice gimmick, even if it's not the most unique.
7. Mofurun (Mahotsukai Precure)
Apparently this one sold like hotcakes. I'm actually not the biggest fan of it, but I do appreciate the hustle, it's a really smart idea. Instead of just having a random piece of plastic for the transformation device, you get to own an actual teddy bear at the same time. It's like a 2-in-1 package.
8. Twin Love Guitar (Hugtto Precure)
I'm biased for any of the musical instrument weapons tbh and I think I might like the guitar from Suite Precure a bit more but I already have something from Suite here and red and purple are just a cool colour combination.
9. Mermaid Aqua Pact (Tropical Rogue Precure)
This one's cool because it has a few ways to use it. The 'shell' pops out when you insert the ring, and you can put the 'makeup stick' into the pact to use it as a gun. Anything that turns into a gun is neat by my book.
10. Sky Mirage (Hirogaru Sky Precure)
The only one of these I actually own. I had to buy it the moment I saw it because...look at this shit, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen.
It uses a fast-rotating LED light to create patterns, and I don't think I've ever seen a Precure toy that's this complex in its operation. It honestly feels like the kind of thing they'd put in a Kamen Rider belt, not a Precure transformation device. Plus the Sky Tones can spin as well for extra use as fidget spinners.
I really hope it's the start of a trend for Precure toys being a bit more complex, because it does make me upset every time I see Kamen Rider get the coolest gimmicks I've ever seen while Precure is often limited to just "press a button and the clear part turns pink". It's almost...insulting. Like they're implying girls aren't intelligent enough to play with toys that have more involved features. Or maybe it's just because Kamen Rider is an older series with an adult otaku market and that's why a lot of the belts are sold via Premium Bandai instead but...still. They're still kids toys.

I've been in a funk lately and it makes me feel better to remember that the fall anime season is coming up, SO:
Delicious in Dungeon is based on quite possibly the best manga I've ever read, an absolutely delightful fantasy dungeon-crawler that applies genuine worldbuilding logic to everything - magic systems, the existence of dungeons in general, how adventurers are revived, where they poop, and how they bathe - and also features a ton of amazing food porn only all the food is made from monsters. Studio Trigger is making the adaptation. Yasunori Mitsuda is doing the music. My only concern is that it's on Netflix, but Netflix has been releasing anime weekly of late, so prayer circle they keep that up...
Tearmoon Empire is based on one of my all-time favorite LNs. The protagonist is a spoiled, self-absorbed princess who goes to the guillotine after a revolution in her country... only to wake up at the age of 12 from a nightmare, in possession of a blood-stained diary detailing the famine and plague that led up to the revolution, and her own awful behavior that led to her unpopularity. She sets out to try to do everything different this time, but while she's had some character growth thanks to losing everything, suffering, and dying - "imparting a kindness as deep as the deepest of cake trays and as broad as the broadest of teacups," to quote the novel's English translation - she's still a twelve-year-old girl and a spoiled, self-centered princess. So she proceeds to Irresponsible Captain Tylor her way through trying to avert disaster, and it's a delight from start to finish. The novels got an excellent, witty localization, and I do worry a little that the narrator could be cut, or won't be as funny in a different medium, or that the adaptation will fall flat - but I'm still excited to see how they adapt it.
I know it's weird that Spy x Family is only my third most-anticipated show for this season, but that's how I feel! Like, it's going to be great, but these two anime are adaptations I've been WAITING for, there's anticipation, doubt and excitement. We know Spy x Family is solid.
Frieren - By all accounts this is an excellent manga with a ton of talent lined up for its adaptation. I haven't read much of the manga, just a chapter or two, but I'm looking forward to the anime.
My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned as an S-Rank Adventurer - A retired adventurer finds an abandoned baby, raises her as his daughter, and she follows in his footsteps as an adventurer. Everyone who hears this description immediately gets nervous, but source readers have confirmed: The usagi does not drop. The dad does not marry the daughter. They have a normal family relationship. The dad later finds an age-appropriate love interest who's not family. Also, the dad is a big muscular bearded man in his 40s who's voiced by Junichi Suwabe.
The Faraway Paladin - The first isekai on the list, this is the second season of a series that handled the "loser from our world reborn as a baby in a new world" premise with genuine creativity and heart, and managed to go an entire cour without any harem elements at ALL. The only traveling companion our title character picked up was a guy.
There's also the next season of Dr. Stone, the second season of "The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent" (isekai about an adult woman!) the Precure sequel following the cast of Yes! Precure 5 (and apparently Splash Star?) as adults, a couple of workplace comedies, a yuri otome game isekai, and I feel like I'm still overlooking one or two things.

She loves her sister. Together they often went into the woods to collect berries. Animals liked them, not as food, but as friends. They help animals who need help.
Sometimes they were late and they just slept under the stars and moon in the free nature. Nothing happened to them ever. They were happy kids, doing kid things and helping their lovely mother. In summer she would help to clean the house. Everyday Rose-Red would make a small flower bouquet of two roses, on from each rose bush, and place it at her mother's bed.
Because she was friendly to animals and helped them, she got rich at the end."
Blue (The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys) :
"tragic robot girlfriends (red and blue) for the win! her name is blue because thats the model (grade) of pornodroid she is"

Any update on Go Princess Precure?? Also curious too know your next series, with a vote towards Healin Good Precure
As for my next series, I’m still torn between Mahoutsukai and Healin’ Good, though I’ve also heard good things about Fresh and Yes! Precure 5.
I’ve been busy with other things, but I just finished Episode 30 a week ago and decided to stop there for now, since it was the end of a major story arc. Right now, I think the show’s gotten even better with the way the story’s gone so far.
I like how there were some focus episodes for the three Cures to obtain new Dress Up Keys (the transformation trinkets I forgot to mention last time) that all focused on them reaffirming their dreams and desires
We learn more about Minami’s past in Episode 16 and her affection for marine life (mainly a dolphin who saved her as a kid), coincidentally tying into her Cure form.
Kirara learns to loosen up a little bit in Episode 17 when modeling thanks to her mom who manages to piss her off enough to get daughter to rant about her so the day of an important fashion show, she’s calm enough to focus.
But my favorite of the three and favorite of the series so far is Episode 18, where we learn more about the book that inspired Haruka to want to become a princess in the first place when she talks with the author about why she never wrote a sequel where the Princess of Flowers met a prince mentioned in the original. It’s really interesting how the author herself said it’s up to interpretation by the readers (based off the initial fanart kids sent to her when it was first published), which is like how so many fandoms come up with their own versions of popular stories, like people in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom do.
The next major story arc where the team has their final encounter with Twilight is also really good, and we also get to see Kanata and Haruka interact for the first time in person. The scene where they first meet is just so precious, with the two playing up their roles as prince and princess almost like an in-joke.
Kanata in general is also a really strong character. The dude has no powers and keeps fighting monsters on his own, and the fact that after losing his sister (who obviously turns out to be Twilight), Haruka (whom he gave her primary Dress Up Key to as a kid) is the one to help him get his hope back and motivate him to keep fighting while he in turn inspires her to become a princess is a great plot development.
Granted, I’m not sure if they’re supposed to be romantically coded or not given Haruka reminded Kanata of his sister and Kanata looks a few years older than Haruka, but I love their interactions regardless... It’s just too bad he was kicked out of the plot at the end of Episode 22 and wasn’t even mentioned since. I get that they had to focus on a new character, but given she was also connected to Kanata, you would think he would at least be mentioned more.
The new character in question and Twilight’s true identity, Towa (get it?), ends up becoming the team’s fourth cure, Cure Scarlet. She was brainwashed by Dyspear to do her bidding and her initial disappearance was enough to drive her and Kanata’s home, the Hope Kingdom to despair so Dyspear could take over, and even though it was out of her control, Towa still feels awful for what she did, and even after becoming a Precure, doesn’t feel like she should even work with the other three, much less enjoy herself while people are suffering. Much like Yuri, recovering from her trauma drives her initial character arc with her getting to know each member of the team (including the fairies and Yui), culimating in a great character moment in Episode 28. As she breaks free from Dyspear’s grasp, she rises up like the metaphorical phoenix her powers are based off.
And yeah, while all that’s deep, that’s not the point. The point is that she has AWESOME FIRE POWERS THAT SHE USED TO CRIPPLE DYSPEAR IN HER FIRST FIGHT!
Yeah, I have a bit of a soft spot for characters with fire powers (mainly Zuko, Ultraman Mebius, Mick Rory, Blaziken and Shoto Todoroki), so I instantly warmed up to Cure Scarlet’s motif, and yes that pun was very much intended. Even putting that aside, her little redemption arc is still really engaging, and it’s interesting to see her come into her own as an individual after being used as a tool for most of her life.
Admittedly, she does get a fair amount of screentime in almost every episode she’s a part of (barring one Haruka-centric episode), but the writers seem to acknowledge that when Lock becomes the main villain for the arc, and more focus is given to the core three in defeating them using the power of the Hope Kingdom’s castle they turned into a music box. I swear it makes more sense if you watch it.
But yeah, I think the show’s second third is even better than the first, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends.

Writing Request Rules

We don't live in a fairytale, do we?
What I write:
Angst, hurt/comfort, ideas that make you cry and would likely make me cry too
There may be comfort only when it makes sense so please don’t expect it
I don’t strictly ban all other genres but the probability of me accepting such requests would be significantly lower unless it really inspires me
Fandoms I write for:
Precure 💖
Twisted Wonderland 🖤
Characters I write for:
I have my preferences and my writing ability has (many) limitations, but technically…
All canon characters
For Precure, this includes villains, fairies and side characters to some extent (for example Henri from Hugtto or Yui from Go Princess)
Reader insert (and MC/Yuu for Twst). Gender neutral if not specified.
No OCs please
Can set the situation in the past or the future (for example, a piece about Riddle when he was still a child)
Formats I write:
Headcanons:
Written in bullet points
At most 4 characters per request
Specify if you want multiple characters to be in a shared headcanon, otherwise, they will react to your situation separately
Scenarios:
Basically written like a fanfic (generally 500-800 words?)
At most 3 characters per request
Request with a situation the characters are put into
Please remember to:
Be clear in your request: please specify necessary details. Don’t be too ambiguous like “Jamil leaves and Kalim misses him”. Is he leaving for a journey? Leaving forever? Leaving for a trip to the toilet?
Stay relevant in your request: please don’t have two or more unrelated ideas in your request. It’s hard to write a request for “Towa is homesick while eating dessert” unless the dessert has some kind of connection to her home
State character relationships if needed: You want them to be friends? Lovers? Or they hate each other? I am okay if you want the characters to have a romantic relationship (for example, if someone’s lover dies), but if you don’t state it, I will assume all relationships are platonic
State your request format: I choose if you don’t
What I do not accept:
NSFW requests
Ships that may make me uncomfortable: including but not limited to incest and abusive relationships
Romanticisation of harassment, abuse, bullying, violence, self-harm, pedophilia etc. They can exist, but it doesn’t mean they’re a good thing.
OOC: for example Silver (for Twst) or Akira (for Precure) crying in public because of a bruise
Requests that highly involves very serious real life social issues or medical conditions, I would not write it if I can’t handle it respectfully
Complicated AUs and crossovers with fandoms that I don’t know
Requests that require a lot of research
Keep in mind that:
I can delete a request for any reason, ranging from it makes me uncomfortable to I’m just not inspired
I don’t have an obligation to write for a request, or to tell you when I don’t write for it
Please, pleeeeeease don’t force me to write a happy ending for angst requests, it usually doesn’t make sense 😭
I’ll be working on my own fics too
My writing speed is generally slower than a snail so please be patient with me️

So you want to watch Precure!
Version 1.3
(Google Docs Vers & Changelog)
Maybe you follow people who like it, maybe you just love magical girls and never got into Precure, but there are over a dozen seasons and you don’t know how to jump in. Never fear, this masterpost is here to give you a rundown of Precure, and hopefully by the end you’ll have an idea of where you want to start.
What Is Precure?
Precure (short for Pretty Cure) is a Toei Animation franchise started in 2004 and has been on the air nonstop since then. It’s a magical girl franchise, y’know like sailor moon or ojamajo doremi or other such shows. The main demographic is children so you don’t have to worry about any weird “fanservice” or panty shots or anything nasty like that, it’s very G rated.
What Are The Shows About?
In a general sense, Precure is about a team of 2-6 middle school age magical girls fighting bad guys and giant monsters and saving the world on a weekly basis with pretty outfits and big flashy finishers and the power of love and friendship. Each season follows a pretty standard formula (toku fans should be pretty familiar with it for the most part), and each season is around 48-50 episodes long.
In keeping with this toku-esque formula, most seasons will feature mid season additions to the cast, in the form of new precure heroes. For the sake of not spoiling these shows, these mid season cures will not be mentioned in our plot overviews unless they appear extremely early or something like that. Just know that almost every season will feature an additional cure joining the team later in the show.
Additionally, every season has at least one movie, these days there’s usually two per season. Usually you’ll find the movies are a standalone self-contained romp, and a crossover movie with the preceding seasons, with a focus on the most recent 2-3 teams. These movies might as well exist in a continuity of their own, and have absolutely no bearing on the plot whatsoever, save for one except which I’ll mention when we get to that season.
Why Should I Watch Precure?
Because it’s good. It’s a really stellar franchise with a ton of content and genuinely engaging characters and stories. Also this isn’t your mom’s magical girl show, these girls throw punches, and kicks, and big lasers. Precure is pretty well known for being extremely hands on with its combat compared to other magical girl shows, though don’t expect the same kind of fights you’d find in kamen rider or anything. Also a main draw for a lot of people is the amount of gay subtext in, frankly, every season. While there’s only one season with an explicitly confirmed gay relationship between two cures, every season has varying levels of subtext between cures, it’s pretty cool. We won’t discuss the subtext in every season overview but trust us, it’s in there.
What Show Should I Start With?
It doesn’t actually matter which season you watch, every season is a new setting and with new characters and set in a new world (except for two sequel seasons i’ll explain later), so you’re free to watch whatever you want in any order! We’re going to spend the rest of this post talking about each season to give you, the beloved reader, a glimpse at what each season has to uniquely offer. Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers down there.
Futari Wa Precure (We Are Pretty Cure) & Futari Wa Precure Max Heart
The original precure show that aired in 2004, and even received an english dub. Misumi Nagisa is a star lacrosse player living a normal life until one day a shooting star she wishes on turns out to be a fairy that careens right into her room, or rather, smacks her right in the face. The fairy, named Mepple, explains he comes from the Garden of Light, another world that’s been taken over by the evil Dark King and his Dark Zone in order to capture the Prism Stones, a number of heart shaped crystals that, if collected, could give Dark King the power to destroy not only the Garden of Light but also the Garden of Rainbows, Earth itself. Meanwhile, Yukishiro Honoka finds a box in her grandmother’s shed containing an item just like the one that smacked Nagisa in the face, and inside is the fairy Mipple, who explains the situation to Honoka. The two fairies, seeking to be reunited, drag Nagisa and Honoka along and the four of them end up meeting up, but are attacked by an emissary of the Dark Zone. Mepple and Mipple grant the confused duo the power to transform into the warriors of legend, Precure. As Cure Black and Cure White, Nagisa and Honoka manage to fight off their attacker and protect their new fairy partners. The girls are then more or less dragged into the battle against the Dark Zone, as the only hope for both Gardens, they fulfill their duty as legendary warriors despite their hesitations and desires to go back to being normal teenagers.
Futari Wa doesn’t exactly have any major themes to speak of, it’s just your standard magical girl vs evil bad guys kind of thing, forgive it for being the first season. What it does have to offer is the relationship between Nagisa and Honoka, as well as the action in fight scenes. The girls don’t start the season as best friends, in fact they barely even know each other’s names when they’re first flung together. It takes a few episodes and a major fight between the girls for them to really start opening up to each other, but soon enough they become inseparable and support each other in everything they do. It’s clear, especially near the end, that the girls cling to each other for support and strength in the face of the increasingly overwhelming odds they face as the Dark Zone gains strength. It’s very compelling to see their relationship deepen in the early season and see how deep their bonds truly go near the end.
Futari Wa received a sequel show, Futari Wa Precure Max Heart, picking up the story where it left off in the first season’s finale. Honoka and Nagisa are still the main characters, and they’re still fighting the Dark Zone, but this time they’re joined by a mysterious girl named Hikari, who can transform into Shiny Luminous, not a precure but precure-ish. This time the girls are trying to recover the heart and soul of the Queen of the Garden of Light, before the Dark Zone can recover and destroy the queen in her weakened state. Also their precure costumes have changed slightly.
The first season (that is to say, not max heart) is currently one of the few seasons available with official english subtitles on the streaming platform Crunchyroll
Futari Wa Precure Splash Star
Hyuuga Saki (Cure Bloom), a tomboy who loves playing softball, and Mishou Mai (Cure Egret), a quiet transfer student and aspiring artist, meet each other by chance one day under the Sky Tree, where they discover two creatures from the Land of Fountains named Flappy and Choppy. The two girls transform into the legendary Precure and are tasked with restoring Princess Filia and the Seven Holy Fountains, which were sapped of their power by the evil forces of Dark Fall.
Splash Star's main theme is the appreciation of nature. The main focus is on the girls rediscovering their relationships with their town and the nature and people in it. You get to meet a whole cast of characters in their community, who have a lot of heart and charm behind their writing and the show does a good job of getting you genuinely invested in their stories.
Unfortunately the romance in Splash Star isn’t much better than Futari Wa's (sorry to any Fujimura/Kazuya fans), but the main girls themselves are so engaging that it's easy to ignore. The villains are pretty goofy, but entertaining if you can accept that the show doesn’t take itself very seriously. There are two villains in the latter half of the season that really stand out, though. Without spoiling too much, I can promise you their character arcs will tear at your heartstrings in the best way.
If you've watched Futari wa Precure, Splash Star will probably feel familiar. Although it's the first "reboot" series in the franchise with completely new characters, Toei overall played it safe and Saki and Mai in many ways still feel like "Nagisa and Honoka 2.0". Splash Star is different in enough other ways to make the show stand on its own merits, but if you watch it immediately after Futari wa you might find yourself feeling some deja vu. Personally, I think it's interesting to see what Splash Star builds on and explores when compared to Futari wa, since it has many of the same themes and character archetypes but they play out quite differently.
Yes! Precure 5 & Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!
Nozomi is a cheerful, carefree girl, but she doesn’t have a dream. One day she meets a hot guy and finds a mysterious item called the Dream Collet, capable of granting any wish once all the fairies known as Pinkies are gathered inside it, in the school library. She discovers that the hot guy is actually a tanuki from Palmier Kingdom named Coco, and that the Kingdom has been destroyed by the Nightmare. Coco’s dream is to restore his kingdom using the Dream Collet, and Nozomi decides to make it hers as well.
She’s joined by her jock friend Rin, Urara, an aspiring actress, Komachi, a writer, and the rich student council president Karen. Together they form Yes Sentai Fiveranger Yes Precure 5 and work together to prevent Nightmare from obtaining the Dream Collet before they can gather all the Pinkies. They also save Coco’s “”””””friend””””””” and fellow hot guy squirrel, Nuts, and he joins them as the second mascot/handsome love interest.
The theme of Yes is dreams and heterosexual furry romance. It pulls off the dreams part very nicely. The het furry romance is bad, mostly because Coco is Nozomi’s teacher at school and also her love interest. However, Coco and Nuts are fairly gay and if you look past the romance part they have very good dadly relationships with the rest of the team.
Yespre, like Futari Wa, received a sequel show, Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!. After the defeat of Nightmare some time ago, a new faction called Eternal rises up and starts stealing treasures from various dimensions. When Eternal targets the Rose Pact belonging to the Cure Rose Garden, the precure are called back into action to fight against Eternal, with new cure outfits, a new fairy named Syrup, and a new cure-like teammate named Milky Rose.
Fresh Precure!
Fresh is sort of the defining series for modern Precure, introducing a lot of plot and thematic elements to the franchise that would be used repeatedly later on.
A concert Momozono Love attends is attacked by a monster called a Nakewameke. When Love stands up to it, she is nearly killed, but is saved when she is chosen by a mysterious power to become Cure Peach. She is joined by Inori and Miki as Cure Pine and Cure Berry, and, together with the talking ferret from the Kingdom of Sweets, Tarte, they have to prevent Labyrinth, a grey world led by Mobius, from taking over the Parallel Worlds and transforming them into identical, machine-like dictatorships, and also figure out the secret behind the Magic Baby, Chiffon, that Tarte is entrusted with.
Fresh’s themes are happiness and nature/technology and donuts. The donuts are important. Labyrinth operates by gathering misery; the Nakewameke are created from it and their function is to create more of it and fill the Sorrow Gauge. All the girls (and the mascot) have love interests and their familial relationships are explored a lot to bring out the general stakes and emphasise what they’re fighting for.
While Fresh is very strong in characters, plot, and thematics, its lack of budget is very apparent. It looks terrible. Fortunately, it isn’t that difficult to get used to the bad animation once you get into the show, although the lack of means tends to show up at inopportune moments, like new powerups.
Heartcatch Precure!
Featuring character designs and art direction from Ojamajo Doremi’s character designer Umakoshi Yoshihiko, and written by Ojamajo Doremi and Onegai My Melody writer Yamada Takashi, Heartcatch should look and feel familiar to fans of either franchise, especially Doremi.
After having a reoccurring dream about someone called Cure Moonlight being defeated trying to defend the “Great Heart Tree”, the shy and reserved Hanasaki Tsubomi moves in with her grandmother and ends up inheriting the will of Cure Moonlight and becomes the newest precure, Cure Blossom. Finding out her grandmother used to be the legendary Cure Flower, Tsubomi vows to protect the world as a precure and learn to change herself for the better. She’s joined by her new friend and the first person she saved as a precure, Kurumi Erika, a loud girl with a big heart who means well, but doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. Erika becomes Cure Marine and the two become Heartcatch Precure, the newest precure in the long legacy of those who have stood up to the evil Dune, a mysterious invader who destroys planets and turns them into lifeless deserts. Heartcatch Precure fights against Dune’s minions: the mask wearing Professor Sabaku, his Desert Apostles, and the mysterious Dark Precure. Along the way they meet the former Cure Moonlight, now stripped of her power, and try to help her cope with her defeat.
Heartcatch Precure’s main theme is flowers and flower language. Everyone has a “heart flower” that the Desert Apostles take and use to create their monsters every week. As an interesting result of this, the monster of the week will be the main character in the plot of the week and often their big monster form will vent about their issues which will usually lead to a resolution when the precure return them to their regular bodies. Heartcatch also has a very nice backstory and lore to it. Unlike most iterations of precure, the Heartcatch girls are not the first precure to exist in their world, there are dozens maybe hundreds of precure that came before them, fighting against Dune and his forces for hundreds of years. It adds a lot to the narrative in small ways, especially later on in the season. Also the fight scenes are extremely excellent, especially when Moonlight is involved.
Suite Precure♪
The musical paradise of Major Land falls under siege by the forces of Minor Land, led by King Mephisto. His goal is to steal the living notes of the “Melody of Happiness” and remake them into the “Melody of Sorrow”, throwing the world into a permanent depressive state. As a last resort, Queen Aphrodite scatters the notes into the human world and tasks Hummy, the cat-like fairy, and the Fairy Tones, to find the notes before the forces of Minor Lands can capture them. In the human world, Hummy meets Hojo Hibiki and Minamino Kanade, two girls who were best friends as children, but drifted apart as teenagers because of their tendency to bicker with each other. The two find themselves thrown together again by fate and transform into Cure Melody and Cure Rhythm to protect the things they hold dear. Not long after, the two rekindle their relationship and become closer than before, despite their bickering. Soon the girls run into the mysterious Cure Muse, a girl who appears to be a precure like them, but hides her face with a mask and refuses to join in their fight, claiming to be neither friend nor enemy. Melody and Rhythm battle against Minor Land and the giant Negatones they create from the notes they gather, as well as Siren, another cat-like fairy who used to be Hummy’s best friend before turning to evil and joining Minor Land.
Suite Precure’s main theme is music, and it is a very encompassing theme. Hibiki and Kanade bond over their piano practice, the town they live in celebrates music frequently and is aesthetically music themed, and their powers take the form of musical instruments. Harmony is also a large theme for the two girls. Their precure power increases as they harmonize with each other, and the early season is very much about them learning to harmonize with each other. Suite also features several extremely well done mystery arcs, about the identity of Cure Muse, and various other things that I can’t very well talk about without risking spoiling things myself. If you manage to go into Suite not knowing anything consider yourself extremely lucky and be super sure not to get spoiled. The show staff went to great lengths to hide certain things, including leaking fake cure designs, and creating a second version of the second dance ending to further mask the identity of Cure Muse until her true reveal.
Also something to note, usually precure movies have nothing to do with the plot of the show itself and can be watched whenever but the Suite movie is best enjoyed right after the arc revealing Cure Muse’s identity is concluded, it has a nice resolution to plot elements in that arc and sets the stage for the last few arcs of the show, so be sure to watch it then.
Smile Precure!
Written by Kamen Rider Kabuto head writer Yonemura Shoji, Smile Precure is the second season to feature a 5 girl team after Yes! Precure 5 Gogo!. Running late to her first day of school, resident happy-go-lucky klutz Hoshizora Miyuki runs face first into a small creature called Candy, a fairy from a place called Märchenland. The two are attacked by an anthropomorphic wolf named Wolfrun, and Miyuki transforms into Cure Happy to fight against Wolfrun and the big clown faced monster he summons called an Akanbe. After Candy explains that the legends say there are five precure, Miyuki recruits four new friends: the hot blooded Akane (Cure Sunny), shy artist Yayoi (Cure Peace), responsible older sister Nao (Cure March), and refined student council vice-president Reika (Cure Beauty). The five of them become Smile Precure and fight against Wolfrun and his allies in the Bad End Kingdom, who attempt to revive the slumbering Pierrot by trying to put the world in a “Bad End”.
Smile Precure’s main theme is fairy tales, in a general sense. The Bad End trio are based off of the big bad wolf (Wolfrun), the oni from Momotaro (Akaoni), and the witch from Snow White (Majorina), and Miyuki herself is utterly captivated by fairy tales. The secondary theme is happiness, and the happy go lucky tone of the series often turns on its head during serious arcs to deliver extremely powerful emotional moments. Smile Precure is light on plot, and most episodes are an ultra happy experience, but the show knows how to get serious when it needs to and Smile is exceedingly competent at pulling off drama when the time comes. Smile knows how to get you invested in its characters and use that to pull on your heartstrings during the big moments. The last 10 episodes of the show are the absolute pinnacle of the show’s emotional drama, and each cure gets her own episode for closure before the finale sets in and emotionally destroys you. Also you get to play rock paper scissors with Cure Peace during her roll call so that’s always fun.
Doki Doki! Precure
Doki opens with Trump Kingdom’s destruction by the Selfishness as Cure Sword looks on, helpless. Switching to our world and brighter topics, we meet Aida Mana, Student Council President of Oogai Middle School, whose dream is to become the Prime Minister of Japan. Whenever Mana sees someone in trouble, she’ll help them out, so when a monster attacks the city, Mana does the obvious and tries to stop it. And when, chosen by the fairy Charuru (Charles? Cheryle? Cherry?) to become a Precure and defend the world, she meets Cure Sword, she has to befriend her and help her restore Trump Kingdom and find her happiness.
Mana (Cure Heart) is joined by Rikka (Cure Diamond), her studious companion and supporter, and also the immeasurably powerful and rich (in that order) Alice (Cure Rosetta). Together they have to unravel the mystery of the man who gave them their transformation items, the missing princess of Trump Kingdom, the strange, evil girl called Regina, and Ai, the chaotic neutral baby who hatches out of an egg.
Dokipre’s theme is love and selflessness. It also has Deep Lore, a lot of which is established in extra-series material. The show does try to explore concepts like past cures and manages a very nice repeating pattern effect with the plot, in terms of past and future happenings. There’s a lot of foreshadowing. Compared to most Precure seasons it’s very plot-heavy and even the filler usually ends up being plot-relevant.
Happiness Charge Precure!
The 10th anniversary of Precure! The Phantom Empire is spreading across the world, and Precure are rising up all over the globe to fight them off. In Japan there are two active cures, Cure Fortune, strong and capable, and Cure Princess, scared and unsure of herself. As Cure Princess, Shirayuki Hime, struggles desperately to do her duty as precure, Cure Fortune refuses to work with her for reasons Hime doesn’t fully understand. Realizing her only hope is to find a partner to work with, Hime bumps into Aino Megumi, a super friendly girl who has a tendency to drop everything and help others any time she sees someone in need. Megumi becomes Cure Lovely, and bolstering Hime’s confidence, the two of them become Happiness Charge Precure, tasked with protecting Japan from Queen Mirage and her Phantom Empire. The two are joined by Cure Honey, and eventually Cure Fortune, and the four of them receive support from Blue, the God of Planet Earth. As the girls continue to fight and defend Japan, they are assaulted by Phantom, the ruthless Precure Hunter who has defeated and trapped countless Precure in his Precure Graveyard, and the Oresky Trio, the Phantom Empire generals who oversee the invasion of Japan.
Happiness Charge Precure’s themes are romance and happiness. There are several arcs dedicated to the budding romances of the cures, and the backstory of the show is heavily tied to romance. Happiness might as well be Megumi’s middle name, she makes it her business to spread happiness to as many people as she can, and takes every chance she can to help others. Happiness Charge is also the first season to have form changes for the precure, each cure has a small selection of forms they can change to for different big attacks, and this concept would later be expanded and used as a core concept in Maho Girls Precure. Like Heartcatch before it, Happiness Charge exists in a world where multiple precure exist, but unlike Heartcatch all those precure exist at the same time in the present day. Other precure teams make cameos every so often and the concept creates a great world in which the whole planet is being protected by teenage girls with superpowers, creating a wonderful sense of scale that really makes the big victories of Happiness Charge Precure feel even bigger.
Go! Princess Precure
The first precure series to take place at a boarding school! Years ago, a young girl named Haruno Haruka meets a very royal looking person named Kanata who gives her a Dress-Up Key, a big key shaped like a dress. A teenager now, Haruka starts attending Noble Academy, a prestigious boarding school, all the while holding tight to her dream of becoming a true princess, in a quasi-literal sense. Not long after starting the school year, Haruka meets Pafu and Aroma, two fairies from the Hope Kingdom desperate to revive the legendary precure to fight back against Dyspear and her minions who steal dreams to create their giant Zetsuborgs. Realizing what her Dress-Up Key is meant for, Haruka uses it and the Princess Perfume to become Cure Flora. Together with student council president Kaido Minami (Cure Mermaid), and Amanogawa Kirara (Cure Twinkle) a fashion model with huge aspirations, they become the new Princess Precure, tasked with learning to become true princesses along with protecting the Dress-Up Keys from Dyspear’s forces.
Go! Princess Precure’s main themes are princesses (duh) and dreams. Dreams are a driving force behind all of the cures, and most of the plot of the week characters. Dyspear steals dreams to make monsters, and the precure fight to return those dreams. Characters follow their dreams with conviction, pride, and full commitment. This is also where the princess theme intersects, since it’s Haruka’s dream to become a true princess. One should note that princess is used sort of liberally in this series, it’s not that Haruka wants to somehow become someone of noble birth or have political power, she just wants to be strong, kind, and beautiful, the traits of a true princess in Princess Precure’s own terms. Also she wants to wear pretty dresses and such but who can blame her really.
Mahou Tsukai Precure! (Maho Girls Precure!)
Quite literally putting the magic in magical girls for the first time in the franchise, Mahou Tsukai Precure was the first season to have its cures be actual magicians. Izumi Riko lives in the magical world, a world where magic is real and she attends a magical academy to hone her craft. She leaves the magical world to travel to the “non-magic” world, to search for a legendary item called the Linkle Stone Emerald. In the non-magic world she ends up catching the attention of another girl, Asahina Mirai, who sees her using magic. After trying to show off some magic and messing it up, Riko is attacked by Batty, a servant of the dark wizard Dokurokushe, who is seeking the Linkle Stone Emerald as well. As fate would have it, both Mirai and Riko carry stones that turn out to be the Linkle Stones Diamond, and the two of them use them to become Cure Miracle and Cure Magical, the legendary Mahou Tsukai Precure. Additionally, the power of the Linkle Stones grants life to Mirai’s lifelong companion, a teddy bear named Mofurun. Having discovered the world of magic and become a precure, Mirai is invited to spend time in the magical world learning magic alongside Riko, before the two, joined by Mofurun and a baby fairy named Ha, return to the non-magical world to search for the Emerald and protect it from Dokurokushe and his minions.
Mahou Tsukai Precure’s main themes are bonds and separation. It’s strengths lie in how it shows the relationship between Mirai and Riko. The show takes its time building their relationship in the first dozen or so episodes of their adventures in the magic world, highlighting their similarities and differences as they grow closer and learn to live with each other and fight as precure together. Well before the halfway mark it’s clear how strong their bond is and how deeply they care for each other, and the lengths they would go to for one another. Mahou Tsukai is an emotional ride in so many ways, every emotional moment hits its mark and the more you get attached to the characters the more the show will hit harder and harder with its moments, both sad and happy. Even side characters get satisfying and emotional conclusions to their storylines outside of the episodes they’re introduced in, it’s all wonderfully crafted.
KiraKira☆Precure A La Mode
Another return to the five cure format, Kirapre is also the second season to feature a sixth team member after Yes! Precure 5 Gogo!, as well as the second season to feature high school age precure after Heartcatch Precure. Usami Ichika is in her second year of middle school and loves sweets, especially making sweets. One day a hungry fairy named Pekorin finds her way into Ichika’s kitchen, and after being fed teaches Ichika about Kirakiraru, an energy source that exists in all sweets, and something that can be stolen and used for evil, leaving the sweets gray and tasteless. Utilizing the power of kirakraru in the shortcake she baked for her mother, Ichika becomes Cure Whip, one of the legendary patissiers, Precure. One by one other precure appear, the smart but shy Arisugawa Himari (Cure Custard), the rock band headliner Tategami Aoi (Cure Gelato), the fickle catlike Kotozume Yukari (Cure Macaron), and the responsible and helpful Kenjou Akira (Cure Chocolat). The five of them fight against the evils of Noir and those he has influenced: Julio, the mysterious masked boy who runs “experiments'' using kirakiraru, and Bibury, a mean spirited girl who uses her talking doll to steal kirakiraru and create monsters.
Kirapre’s main motifs are sweets and animals, and it has a pretty general togetherness and happiness theme going on, the standard precure stuff, mostly viewed through the lense of sweets and sweets-making. All the precure work as patissiers for one reason or another and it’s the main way the team bonds early on. The team, as well as the people of their small town, love sweets as a part of their culture and sweets maintain an important role as the emotional tie that binds most things together in the story. Overall Kirapre is a wonderful show with a great cast on both sides of the conflict, and a lot of care has been put into the show to make sure characters have their moments to interact with each other as well as have their own stories , even on a team of six every precure gets more than enough time to shine on her own. Kirapre is at it’s best when it takes two girls and puts them together for an episode, letting each unique dynamic play out in a fun and satisfying way. Kirapre is also noteworthy for the almost inarguably canonical relationship between two of the cures. It's not exactly explicit and it does leave something to be desired, since this is a Toei children's show, but there’s not really any other way to read the evolution of their relationship or their duet song, so I’m more than satisfied calling it canon.
This season is currently one of the few seasons available with official english subtitles on the streaming platform Crunchyroll
HUGtto! Precure
Precure’s 15th anniversary! This season is in many ways a celebration of all things Precure, bringing together a lot of familiar elements from past shows into one. Hugtto! is another five cure season whose main themes are destiny and future. Nono Hana (Cure Yell) is a thirteen-year-old girl whose dream is to be a "cool and stylish woman," although she worries that others see her as childish. One day, a hamster named Harryham Harry and a magical baby named Hugtan fall out of the sky into Hana's house. They're being chased from the future by an evil organization called Criasu Corporation, who are trying to use Hugtan's power to freeze time forever. Hana makes friends with two of her classmates: the responsible class representative Yakushiji Saaya (Cure Ange) and the reclusive ex-figure skater Kagayaki Homare (Cure Etoile), and together they fight Criasu while taking care of Hugtan and figuring out the many mysteries surrounding her. Expect some light sc-fi elements and an emphasis on modern technology/social media.
Hugtto! explores its themes primarily through the lenses of childcare and the workplace, giving us a look at how each girl comes to terms with the transition from childhood to adulthood. This season does a good job of letting each member of the team shine; you spend several episodes with each girl (or duo of girls) and there's a real sense of a complete character arc for all of them. The romance aspect is, unfortunately, pretty bad: there’s a return of hetero furry romance between Harry and Homare, and Hana’s love interest exhibits some really creepy behavior towards her. There’s uncomfortable age gaps in both of these relationships too so it’s a just a bit…. Yikes. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to ignore like past seasons, but a warning for it nonetheless.
Something that makes this season stand out is its LGBT subtext; there's a TON of it even compared to the normal amount that Precure is known for. Without giving away too much, two of the cures this season are heavily coded as lesbians (though not with each other per se), and there's a subplot concerning a side character who is pretty explicitly (well, as explicit as Toei dares to be) a gender non-conforming man/nonbinary person in love with another man, and it's all very wholesome and presented in a positive light. Again, this is Toei, so don't expect anything too radical, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with how Hugpre handles it.
Finally I'll just say that while Hugpre is a fantastic season on its own, I would personally recommend waiting to watch it after you've seen some other seasons (notably Futari wa). It's not required, but since Hugpre is an anniversary season, there are a few episodes (especially near the end) that will really hit different if you have an emotional connection to the franchise already. Ultimately though this is a fairly minor part of the show, so watching this season first won’t ruin it or anything like that, it’s just something to keep in mind.
Star☆Twinkle Precure
Precure… in space! Our protagonist, Hoshina Hikaru (Cure Star) loves space and cryptids, to the point of drawing her own constellations. One of her constellations is an adorable alien puffball, who warps into Hikaru’s room almost immediately after she draws it. The puffball quickly befriends Hikaru, who names her Fuwa. They are later joined by Prunce, the team dad friend/alien mascot, and Lala (Cure Milky), a humanoid alien who is an adult in her own culture. After our initial duo gets off to a bit of a rocky start, they are joined by the student council president, Kaguya Madoka (Cure Selene) and a biracial upperclassman who is considered to be the “sun” of the school, Amamiya Elena (Cure Soleil). Together, they explore the universe and befriend all sorts of aliens, while also defending them from the Notraiders, who want to rid the universe of all imagination. On top of that, the universe is dying and the cures need to find the 12 astrologically themed Star Pens to save it and the 12 Star Princesses. This series is notable for attempting to break the “monster of the week” format, instead making it a “fight of the week”.
The major themes of Star Twinkle are space, imagination, and maturity. The cures have to explore the universe to find the Star Pens, and in doing so, visit a bunch of different planets. About half the series is spent on Earth, but the world still feels developed! Honestly speaking, the theme of imagination is forgotten pretty quickly and I’d refer to it more as free will. The theme of maturity is where Star Twinkle really shines. All of the cures have had to grow up too fast in some way, and the series is partially about just allowing them to goof off. Lala is considered an adult on her planet, and this plot point is treated realistically. Well, as realistically as it can be. This is one series I’d recommend avoiding spoilers like the plague for, because part of the fun is in how the plot twists are pulled off. Also Star Twinkle is notable for featuring the first ever dark skinned precure, as Elena is half-hispanic.
Healin’ Good Precure
The currently airing Precure season, as of this writing. The Byogens seek to revive their king by inflicting viruses on Earth, the Healing Garden sends three medical interns to combat them. These interns, fairies named Rabirin, Pegitan, and Nyatoran, along with a baby fairy princess named Latte, journey to Earth to find partners to become Precure. They end up meeting Hanadera Nodoka, a kindhearted girl who was hospitalized for most of her young childhood. After Nodoka risks her life to protect Latte, Rabirin chooses her to become Cure Grace. Joined by older sister type Sawaizumi Chiyu (Cure Fontaine) and the outgoing Hiramitsu Hinata (Cure Sparkle), they form Healin’ Good Precure, and defend their friends and the Earth from the Byogen’s newest wave of attacks.
This season is currently one of the few seasons available with official english subtitles on the streaming platform Crunchyroll.
Where To Watch Precure Online
Unfortunately for us, Precure isn’t really a thing in the west. There was a dub of Futari Wa back in the early 2000’s and Smile and Doki both got “adapted” into Glitter Force over on netflix (I don’t really recommend checking those out), but really Precure just doesn’t exist over here.
However, as mentioned above, there are currently three seasons avalible for streaming on crunchyroll. The original Futari Wa Precure, Kira Kira Precure A La Mode, and the current season, Healin’ Good Precure.
Beyond these isolated examples of official releases, you can really only watch precure online on streaming sites or through torrents. You can find precure pretty much on any major anime streaming site, kissanime, gogoanime, the works. You can also try your luck torrenting the seasons, i’ve found that pretty much every season has a working torrent you can find on sites like nyaa.si or the like. For more recent seasons you should have little difficulty getting torrents, and last time i checked every season was on one of the aforementioned streaming sites. What I’m saying really is there’s no single place to find precure, but it’s not impossible to find for sure.
Thanks for reading this post, I hope you decide to check out precure and I really hope you end up loving it.Thanks to my wonderful friend @meltorights for writing the sections on Yespre, Fresh, and Dokipre, to @wonderlilane for writing the sections on Splash Star and Huggto, and @cure-cosmo for writing the segment on Starpre.
If you have questions feel free to drop me an ask I’d be happy to help. I will literally go out of my way to help you if it means getting someone new into precure so please do not hesitate by any means.

So I decided to look up Go! Princess Precure on Wattpad, and the second fanfic I see is "A Cure in Darkness (Go Princess Precure x Sith reader)". Yes, you read that right. Sith. As in the villains in Star Wars. What.

~Go! Princess Pretty Cure Masterlist~
This oneshot takes place during and after the events of episode 23
You’ll never forget the day your friends, the Princess Pretty Cure, returned from a battle with Haruka carrying a girl on her back. It was even more surprising to find out that it was their enemy, Twilight. You would’ve never thought that her true form would be so young.
You immediately felt sympathy for her. Poor Towa had been brainwashed by someone her mind was altered to think was her mother. Not only that, but she was taken from her home kingdom, and made to believe they were ignorant scum. So it was really no shock to see Towa acting so gloomy during her first days of being reformed.
It was obvious she felt terrible for all the things she had done. Even when you and the others took her into town to have fun, she wouldn’t let herself. And that was simply because she felt she didn’t deserve to.
~~~~
“Hey, she smiled!” Haruka announced, gleefully staring at Towa’s upturned lips. “I’m so glad! I was worried you might not be enjoying yourself.”
Towa seemed surprised at herself, immediately dropping her smile.
“It’s best to smile when you’re having fun.” Minami said.
“That’s right! There’s no need to hold back.” Kirara added.
You nodded, agreeing with their words. Towa had such a nice, gentle smile too. It’d be a waste for her to not show it off. You were about to say so, but she spoke first.
“Yes, there is!”
“Towa?” Haruka questioned, taken aback by her response.
“Until I save the Hope Kingdom…” She continued. “I can’t afford to enjoy myself.”
“Towa, that’s not-“ You tried to comfort her, but she interrupted you.
“Becoming Cure Scarlet was a miracle. Heaven’s giving me a chance to atone for my sins. I’m not like the rest of you!”
“Sure you are!” Haruka tried consoling her. “We’re-“
“Just leave me alone!” Towa shouted. “If I spend any more time with you, I… “ She didn’t even finish her sentence. She just got up, and ran out of the donut shop you were in.
It was then that you fully understood how big her guilt and hatred for herself was. You wanted to help, but weren’t sure how. So you took the Pretty Cure’s battle later on as an opportunity to think.
~~~~
In the end, Towa ended up being enrolled at Noble Academy. This was great for you, because now you had more time to spend with her and to help her feel better about herself.
“Kirara?” You called out after knocking on her dorm’s door.
“Yes? You do know it’s almost curfew, you know?” She responded, cracking the door open.
“Yeah, I know. But I was hoping to talk with Towa for a bit? If you don’t mind, that is.” You asked.
Kirara sighed. “Okay. But just for a few minutes. I need to get to sleep soon. I have a busy schedule.” She stepped out of the room, letting you in.
“Thanks!” You said, before walking in.
Towa sat on her bed, brushing her long curls. Once she noticed you had walked in, she set the brush down. “Oh, hello (name).” She greeted.
“Hey. Mind if I sit here?” You asked, gesturing to the spot next to her.
“No, go ahead.” She smiled, which made you happy.
After sitting down, you patted your knees, gathering your thoughts. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
“Oh? What is it?” She asked.
“Earlier today, you said you ‘couldn’t afford to enjoy yourself’, and that you believe you shouldn’t smile.” You gazed down at the floor, not wanting to look at her, in case she had a sad expression from the memory.
Towa didn’t respond, though you heard her inhale quickly. You decided to just continue.
“Well, I’m here to say that’s not true.” Finally looking at her, you gave her a serious expression.
“What?” She breathed out.
“Sure, you did bad things as Twilight. But that wasn’t your fault. You weren’t yourself back then. Dyspear made you that way. So you don’t need to beat yourself up over that.” You gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
Towa’s eyes widened, clearly taken aback by your words.
“So you do deserve to smile and have fun. You don’t need to keep yourself from those things to save the Hope Kingdom. In fact, I think those things will help you do that.” You have her a determined grin. “So as your friend, I’m gonna make sure you smile as much as possible”
Towa’s eyes filled with tears. “Thank you, (name). I’ll try.” She sniffled, and her lips turned upwards.
“There you go! That’s a great start!” You swung an arm around her, giving her a side hug. She giggled through her tears.
And from there, your mission began. You kept your promise to Towa, helping her to smile and enjoy herself more often. Thanks to you, and your other friends, she’d learn not to feel guilt for feeling positive emotions. And she’d start to leave her past behind little by little.

which precures would read homestuck without being dared to
Boy howdy. There’s a question I didn’t expect. Well let’s see here and go down the list:
Nagisa: Got into it shortly after launch, after hearing Honoka talk about it.
Honoka: OG reader, has been around for most of Hussie’s stuff.
Hikari: She didn’t read it until about halfway through its publication run, but caught up in a single night. She made fanart.
Saki: She tried to get into it for Mai, but it never really meshed with her. Still learned enough through osmosis to cosplay both Dirk and Dave.
Mai: She has five sketch books that are just redraws of the entire series with everybody replaced by Saki. None of her friends must ever see. They saw. They didn’t get it, but liked the art.
Nozomi: OG reader, not the absolute biggest fan, but did walk away liking it.
Rin: Saw Nozomi read it, and tried a little herself. Then she met Kanaya. The rest was history and fanfics. And special flower arrangements.
Urara: Currently lobbying for a broadway adaption. She is undecided which role she wants to play tho.
Komachi: She has changed her writing pseudonym to John Egbert, to get a better likelyhood of getting her Pirate Hurricane series published. She writes more like a mix of Dave and Rose though. It’s fucking mind expanding.
Karen: She had it fed through her home’s in house cinema to watch it with Komachi initially. They all ended up watching it.
Milk/Kurumi: “Vriska did nothing wrong”
Love: Her and Setsuna totally are like Rose and Kanaya. She is Rose of course.
Miki: She knows she is everybody’s Kanaya. She spend some time making masks of the characters. You can imagine how well that ended. Her Kanaya cosplays are somehow still great for the family boutique.
Inori: Yeah, she read it. Each reading session was followed by a trip to the confession booth. Eventually she just started reading it in the confession booth. The priest liked it too.
Setsuna: Her and Love totally are like Rose and Kanaya. She is Rose of course.
Tsubomi: Yes she read it. No her friends must never know. She doesn’t realize all of them have read it too.
Erika: The only friend Tsubomi opened up to about Homestuck. Turns out Erika runs one of the main japanese fansites of Homestuck.
Itsuki: Main mod on Erika’s fansite. Tsubomi must never know. Nor her family. Itsuki still feels too uncomfortable in their skin for that.
Yuri: Almost OG reader, she and Honoka frequented the same forums. Upon casual mention from Honoka, Yuri tried it out. Her young friends must never be tainted by this horror. Hopefully Hussie updates soon!
Hibiki:Learned about it through Ako. Found it pretty sweet, but didn’t make it all the way.
Kanade: Also learned about it through Ako. her bi heart couldn’t be stopped as she steamed through almost all of it in one go.
Ellen: Had been following it for about a year with Hummie before Suite happened. Continued reading while on the villains side. Often plays Homestuck songs while busking, and has several rearrangements on niconico.
Ako: Has been reading Hussie’s stuff since halfway through Problem Sleuth. She was 7 at the time. There’s a reason she a) is so crumby, Karkat is her spirit animal, and b) she decided to go and become an extra af phantom thief precure.
Miyuki: She is a reading machine, and of course this would capture her attention. She came in a bit late but found it on her own.
Akane: Similarly to Rin, she saw it over Miyuki’s shoulder one day, did a bit of reading herself, and got pretty hooked for a while.The hiatuses however broke her streak. Oddly enough the main emotion she took away from it is a hate for Equius, which she shares with Nao.
Yayoi: Main fanart contributor to Erika’s fansite. Her and Reika spend hours talking about Terezi.
Nao: Never did read it, she was too busy with her family and superheroism. More recently though, she decided to kinda wiki crawl the subject. Walked away primarily with a hate for Equius.
Reika: Another mod on Erika’s fansite.She has found her path. Her parents are disappointed. Screw her parents.
Mana: Tried it, didn’t like it. Square.
Rikka: Wishes she could live on that first planet they showed, with the froggies. She tries to dare Mana, but continues to get shot down. Mana is such a square.
Alice: Found it on one of her internet binges to bring her temper down. It proofed a surprisingly good tool to keep her mellow, which is why we see so little of her inner rage during the show. Another Terezi fan.
Makoto: Somehow has never come across a single shred of evidence that Homestuck exists. As unlucky as she is, she might be the luckiest of us all.
Aguri: Unlike Makoto, she has seen what Rikka and Alice are up to. She did read it a little, and liked what she saw well enough, but didn’t stick with it. Not enough time, and her twin sister lives fifty miles in Vriska did nothing wrong territory, so clearly she must be better than her. (She isn’t.)
Megumi: Came across it on her own, read it, but lost interest.
Hime: Runs the discord server for Erika’s fansite.
Yuko: Does occasional lyrics for Ellen’s arrangements, both on youtube and niconico, and makes the occasional troll riceball.
Iona: She was in fact dared, but by Megumi of all people, after she stopped reading. There is no bigger Rose fan now.
Haruka: As an avid reader, it did cross her radar, she went through it, and came out more determined than before to be the best princess she can be.
Minami: Amusingly enough, stumbled across it during her internet binges boning up on marine biology. Feferi popped up in her searches somehow, and the rest is history.
Kirara: Fans suggested it to her. She read it. The most fabulous Kanaya cosplayer of them all.
Towa: Kirara suggested it to her after she herself had finished (by now the webcomic is done IRL) partially because nerds gotta share, and partially because she truly felt it might help her cope with some of her inner turmoil from the guilt over being Twilight. Towa is slow in reading through this particular one, so she is still going through it today. Results unclear, she doesn’t talk much about it, even with Kirara. It might be helping though.
(The remaining characters I don‘t know as well as the others yet, but I’ll see what I can conjure up. Intriguingly I feel this also marks the first generation of Cures that lived in a post Homestuck world, what with Mahoutsukai airing in 2016, and Homestuck ending in 2016.)
Mirai: Got dragged in by the hype over the ending of Homestuck. Dared Riko to read it with her. They did. They planned their wedding to be like Rose’s and Kanaya’s.
Riko: Got dragged in by Mirai. Would feel very big deja vu next year when they both became moms to Kotoha.
Kotoha: Her moms protect her from this vice. (She found it anyways. There is no stopping the corruption of the youth.)
Ichika: Heard about it, but didn’t really care. Unfortunately for her she is on a team with Aoi, Yukari, and Akira.
Himari: Closet fan, wrote several dissertations about the science in Homestuck on Erika’s fansite. Which is probably where her crush on Honoka comes from.
Aoi: Loud and proud, likes this retro comic. Has started collabs with Yuko, Ellen, Amour, and Emiru because of course.
Yukari: She was a depressed gay teen during Homestuck’s peak... what do you think?
Akira: She was a gay teen during Homestuck’s peak... what do you think?
Ciel: She would have been save. But Undertale dragged her right into this fresh hell.
Hana: Huge fan of Undertale, but never quite pulled together the energy to tackle the behemoth that is Homestuck. Did learn through osmosis, with so many of her senpai cure friends being raving lunatic homestuck fans.
Saaya: Actually dodged both the Homestuck and the Undertale bullet initially. Hana then tossed Deltarune at her, and Saaya fell down the rabbit hole.
Homare: She had some inner hangups about getting into the whole mess, but Hana did dare her, knowing enough about the series to know that it’s message might gibe Homare the kick in the behind she needed to give ice skating another go.
Emiru: Big Undertale fan, but doesn’t care about the webcomic herself. Uncertain if even a dare would work, she does her own thing... well, besides the music. She freaking loves the music.
Amour: Read the whole thing in one hour to understand its impact on culture. What else would make her crash and join the heroes? Jokes aside, she did do it, and it did leave an impact on her. She was the one who connected Aoi and Emiru.
Hikaru: What are the freaking odds that she hasn’t read through it in its entirety three times this week alone?
Lala: Had her ship read it to her as something to fall asleep to. It put her to sleep quickly, actually, like tales from home. Her ship didn’t fare as well. It’s one of the biggest crack shippers on Erika’s site. Lala only heard like ten percent of the story.
Elena: Has neither the free time nor privacy to read a webcomic that’s now a decade old. Likes listening to Hikaru’s ranting about the series. Also likes how somehow that ranting makes Madoka’s face light up.
Madoka: It is unknown how she found the time, but she is a freaking huuuueg closet fan. She wants to talk with Hikaru about it, but still feels too uncomfortable being public about it. Hikaru does however know that MoonSollux, one of the biggest fanfic writers on Erika’s site, is her, but will wait for Madoka to come out of her shell in her own time.
Yuni: Missed the whole mess being a space alien idol phantom thief. Is getting a very wrong idea about human culture from Hikaru’s ranting. A dare would totally work.
(I have zero grasp on the Healin’ Good Girls, so not gonna do them.)

Precure Day 105
Episode: Futari wa Precure Splash Star 07 - “Ultra Serious! The Wrath of Karehaan!” Date watched: 28 February 2019 Original air date: 19 March 2006 Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/FlLcGRc Project info and master list of posts: http://tinyurl.com/PCDabout
Can I get an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Sorry it’s been so long. I gave my excuses on the other blog, so read that if you care.
The following episode contains these disturbing elements:
Engrish
An ugly final form
emotional manipulation
shameless product placement
children almost dying
leaves
Reader discretion is advised.
There are two main parts to this story that come together halfway through. Flappi and Choppi find themselves unable to contain the power of the Miracle Drops in their ears anymore, so Saki and Mai need to seek out the Fairy Carafe to hold them instead, but all the fairies know is that Princess Filia hid it somewhere in the Land of Greenery (Earth). Meanwhile, Akudaikaan is fed up with Karehaan’s repeated failure, and gives him one last chance to defeat the Precure and find the Fountain of the Sun. Gohyaan goads him into attacking that day, using the fullest extent of his powers. He finds the girls in a forest after school, where the Miracle Drops have led them to the general vicinity of the Fairy Carafe. Karehaan summons an uzainaa around himself and begins ferociously attacking the girls. They try to block and deflect with the power of the spirits but he just sucks up their spirit barriers and knocks them around a bit. Did I mention he’s ugly?
He’s big, he’s mean, he’s.... not green but rotted, and he’s whipping the girls around with his vines, blasting rotted gunk at them, and he even flexes his ability of destruction to kill a big area of the forest. But he gives the Precures an inch and they take a mile. They swear upon their promises to get home to their families that night, grab hands, and together they’re able to overcome his destruction. He tries to suck up their power again but it’s too much for him and it blows up his arm instead. The duo summon all their powers and the spirits and perform Twin Stream Splash, and Karehaan is no more, or so they think. They detransform, take the Miracle Drop he leaves behind, and then he divebombs them from above... only to collapse into a pile of dead leaves and blow away.
please press F to pay respects
With their last obstacle out of the way, Saki and Mai resume trying to find the Fairy Carafe. They do, and after a very exaggerated introduction they are transported to the Fountain of Trees. They never made an explicit connection between the different Fountains that the girls need to restore and the theme of the villains, but it’s clear now that there is one, as Karehaan’s motif was rotting leaves and plants. Saki uses the Miracle Drops to restore the Fountain and then a figure appears before them.... Princess Filia.
She only shows up for a moment and doesn’t say anything, but it’s enough to inspire Flappi and Choppi. Satisfied with their work, the fairies and girls are transported back home and crash land near the Sky Tree. Saki and Mai say their goodbyes and head home to see their families, before Flappi reminds Saki that she has an English test to study for. Oops. Roll credits.
We’ve seen time and again that when Bloom and Egret combine their powers, they can overcome anything, and this was a true test of their strength. It’s still early in the show but I want to say this may be the truest embodiment of Nishio Daisuke’s vision of the series, and that’s wonderful. Karehaan was a tough opponent, but honestly he was never particularly memorable to me. Maybe that’s because the later villains are much more interesting and fun, but Karehaan doesn’t have much personality beyond being irate all the time. Come to think of it he’s a lot like Pisard from the first season in that regard, except that Pisard at least looked neat. With him out of the way, all I can say is bring on Moerumba!
One detail I kind of overlooked in the summary is how at the start, Mai agrees to go out to eat with her family (a rare opportunity given her parents’ busy schedules) and Saki chooses to help Minori and her mom cook dinner that night. They both have important family time stuff to get home to so they’re really not in the mood for Dark Fall antics, which adds some nice seriousness.
Also at the very start, Saki is practicing her English. She’s honestly not too bad, but it’s presented as a comedy bit so laugh away.
The last thing I want to bring up is the Fairy Carafe. It’s..... well, it’s a toy.
The CGI in this show is still very obvious, and they choose to use it to heavily emphasize the functionality of the toys you can buy. While you saw this demonstrated heavily with the Queen Chairect last season, they take it a step further here.
vimeo
I think it stands out to me because it’s yet another storage item for the Macguffins of the show, and also what it does isn’t really that special compared to the Queen Chairect or the Prism Hopish (okay that one wasn’t special either but it was also less extravagant). This is basically a pitcher and they stick marbles in it. It doesn’t need a special ramp, or lights and sounds, but it does and they make a big deal out of it to make kids want to buy the toy.
Here’s the wrap-up. This episode, overall, is alright, not great but not bad, just average, and that’s kind of a problem for me. There have been a lot of “just average” episodes already in this season, and this is the defeat of a villain so it should be meaningful but it just doesn’t do anything to really stand out. I realize I was generally positive in the body of the review and I want to reiterate that it’s not a bad episode, but it feels a little too generic for me to give it glowing praise. Thankfully, Moerumba drops by next time to heat things up, so we should be on the up and up. Look forward to it, and hopefully it will come a lot sooner than a month and a half from now.
Pink Precure Catchphrase Count: 1 “Zekkouchou nari!”
Miracle Drop Count: 7, then 0 after restoring the Fountain of Trees

Okay here’s an idea.
Male reader is a hacker that realizes that precure MOTW have code that can be hacked so when one of the go princess precure villains makes a zetzuborg out of them, he just casually pulls out his laptop and shuts it down, at least until the precure show up to defeat it.
A/N ~ Sure! Looking back, I guess the hacking part wasn’t as “casual” as I thought haha. Sorry about that. Hope you enjoy!

“Where are they?”
You asked that question to yourself as you were huddled under a picnic table.
The giant laptop monster stomped around; the ground quaking under its feet. It pulled up whole trees, roots and all, and tossed them anywhere it saw lacked destruction. You jumped as one landed dangerously close to where you hid.
This had been going on for over twenty minutes at that point. And you grew more concerned by the second. Every time something like this had happened, it didn’t last very long.
The thing was: there were these princess-like superheroes that would sweep in, and defeat the monsters. It would usually happen rather quickly too. But there seemed to be a hold up this time. And while you didn’t know what, you just prayed to live long enough to see them save you.
The thought of using your own laptop to message someone for help crossed your mind. So you released it from around your protective arms, and opened it. But just as you were about to start typing, a different thought occurred.
Why not use your own skills to try and stop the monster?
Sure, you’re no superhero, or a magical girl in a sparkly dress. But you do know how to hack. And it just so happens that the monster had code.
While scolding yourself for not thinking of this earlier, you clicked open your secret hacking tool. After cracking your knuckles, you hovered your fingers over the keys, ready to type up a storm. But there was an issue. The target wasn’t close enough to you to get a decent connection.
Figuring you’d probably die anyway, you decided to take the risk. You shot out of your hiding spot, standing out in the open. With your laptop in one arm, you used your other to call over the creature.
“Hey!”
“Zetsuborg?” It growled out in confusion, turning to see what the source of the sound was.
A man with a top hat levitated close by. He also seemed puzzled by your actions. “What is that guy doing? Oh well. Zetsuborg, you’ll just have to get him!” He commanded.
“Zetsu!” Without hesitation, the monster began charging towards you.
Your feet stayed planted on the ground. Though you wanted badly to turn around and run, you wanted to see if your plan would turn out. So you watched and waited as the giant laptop got closer and closer.
Just a few more steps until it was close enough. Four, three, two, one… now!
With speedy fingers, you typed feverishly onto your keyboard. You were glad you’d spend so much time honing your skills, because you’d never smashed the keys so quickly in your life.
Just a few more characters away from completion… crud. You made a typo. You hit the backspace button faster than you ever had before, and wasted no time correcting your mistake. And just like that, the code was complete. With sweaty fingers, you pressed “enter”; nearly shattering the button from the sheer amount of force used.
“What is he doing?” The man questioned. You realized then that while it felt like forever in your head, it was only a few seconds in actuality. So neither him nor the monster had the time to comprehend what you had just done. Well, not until the next moment.
Just as you planned, the screen of the giant laptop flashed an array of numbers. “Z-z3tsu-b-b-b0rg!” It cried out, its voice glitchy and distorted.
“What? What’s going on?” The man began to panic. The monster then went completely frozen; the screen going dark. “What did you do?!”
You simply smirked. You would’ve loved to make a smart, quick witted response, but you weren’t given the chance to. Because just then, four girls swooped in, kicking the monster. The force slammed it shut, just like closing a normal laptop. There was no resistance from it, due to it being powered down.
“Finally.” You sighed to yourself.
~~~~
The girls defeated the monster with no issues. Their finishing move was like nothing you’ve ever seen. It was a perfect combination of graceful and cool. During the first few moments that followed, your environment faded into its original state. It was as if nothing had happened at all.
“Gah! It was going so well!” The blonde man growled angrily. He gripped the black rose he was holding tightly, the thorns most likely piercing his fingers. With a swift whip, he pointed it at you accusingly. “This is all your fault!”
The moment those words left his black colored lips, the four girls were already positioned in front of you; guarding you from any harm. While you couldn’t see, you assumed they wore threatening expressions, as the man’s stature became less confident. His limbs scrunched inwards ever so slightly, though he tried keeping a brave face.
“F-fine! I’ll just have to get you next time!” Without another word, he turned his back towards you and the group. With a snap of his fingers, he disappeared into a keyhole shaped portal.
“Are you alright?” The blonde girl inquired, turning around to face you with the rest of them.
“Yeah, I’m good.” You shrugged. Though, you were a bit shaken. But you kept it to yourself, figuring the girls had better things to worry about.
“The Zetsuborg stopping… that was you, wasn’t it?” The blue one assumed.
“Hehe, yeah. I know a lot when it comes to computers. So I know how to hack and stuff.” You raised your laptop up slightly to prove it.
“Wow, so you really froze it all on your own?” Asked the yellow one. You simply nodded.
“That was very brave of you. You have our gratitude.” The red one bowed a bit, lifting her dress in a mini curtsy. The others did the same.
“Oh, it was nothing. No need for all that.” You chuckled, embarrassed by their overly-formal gestures.
“I don’t suppose…” The pink one pulled out a laptop from under her arm; the same one she and her group had just purified. “You could trace the owner of this? I’d hate to ask any more of you, but you seem to be an expert.”
“Sure, I can do that!” After closing your own laptop, you took the other out of her gloved hands.
“Thank you. Now, if you’ll excuse us…” She eyed the others, almost as if she were speaking to them telepathically.
“Good day to you!” They all said in unison, curtsying once again, before leaping high into the air.
And just like that, they were gone.
You finally let out a huge sigh of relief. Never in a million years would you have expected that to happen. Not only did you single-handedly hack into a giant laptop monster, but you actually talked to those mysterious princesses.
You’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel at least a bit proud of yourself. It was only because you were so skilled that this was possible. Who knows what would’ve happened to you if you weren’t a nerd when it comes to hacking.
But instead of letting your mind wander to those scenarios, you focused on tracing the laptop’s owner. So you sat down at the picnic table you were previously hiding under, and went back to doing what you do best.
Hello! is it too late to submit a request? I keep forgetting to ask this one, but I was wondering if you could write about a platonic reader + Twilight from Princess Precure as the reader's wingman/wingwoman/wingbestie or something- ya know, just the reader being Twilight's bestie but also she's their wingbestie who sometimes calls her for silly stuff- I hope that makes sense and if it's too much to ask, I'm sorry! Also here's a Twilight photo so you don't gotta search for one!
I'm obsessed with her plz help lol /j
A/N ~ Sure! I unfortunately couldn’t save the image provided, but I was able to find another one, so it’s okay:) Also, I hope I used the “wingbestie” term correctly. I’m not too familiar with the term haha. Hope you enjoy!
As you wondered through the dark palace, your annoyance only became more definite. The one person you were looking for was nowhere to be found. In fact, it seemed as if the only times you couldn’t find her was when you actually needed her. Her mysteriousness could be highly inconvenient sometimes.
Though to your relief, the start of a somber, lonely violin solo began echoing throughout the halls. You followed the sound, almost as if the music notes created a physical trail for you to follow. Soon enough, the song led you to a large, open room. There, standing in the center, under a large crystal chandelier, was Twilight.
She continued playing, her bow moving in a perfect, natural fashion, almost as if the song was playing her. You knew she knew you were there. She always did. Though you didn’t mind being ignored. It was always a pleasure to hear her breathtaking violin skills.
After the song concluded, you gave her a round of applause. She lowered her bow, while keeping the instrument tucked under her chin. She gently lifted her dress a bit, giving a tiny curtsy. “What is it you need me for, (name)?” She asked after coming back up.
“Aw, c’mon Twi. Don’t you think it’s kinda rude to assume I only come to you when I need something?” You laughed, acting hurt.
“I’ve told you before to not call me that. If you wish to refer to me, use my full name.” She said, lowering her violin to rest at her side.
“We’re friends, aren’t we? A lot of friends have nicknames for each other. You can make up one for me!”
“I refuse. And again, call me ‘Twilight’.”
“Aww, you’re no fun.” You slumped. But you knew she could’ve been meaner. Not too long ago, she completely denied the idea of being friends. So you at least had that.
“I still suspect that you need something from me. If you don’t tell me now, I’ll be going.” Twilight turned her back to you, preparing to leave the room.
“Okay, you got me.” You laughed. “I was wondering if you’d wanna come to summon a Zetsuborg with me?
She sighed. “I suppose. I will have to get my mother’s approval though.”
“Yay!” Your excitement was through the roof. Twilight usually didn’t agree to leave the castle with you. However, your victory was short lived.
“But Mother-“ Twilight said, but was cut off.
“No buts. I said I don’t want you going out today. Don’t make me say it again.” Dyspear said, her calm face contrasting with her chilling voice.
Twilight sighed. “Yes Mother. I’m sorry.” She then walked away, hiding her annoyance and disappointment. “Sorry (name). We can’t go.” She told you once she left the room.
“Aw darn. Why is she so controlling all the time?” You rolled your eyes.
“She’s just trying to protect me. Though I admit it can get overbearing at times.”
“Well…” You gave a mischievous look.
“What are you planning?” Twilight said, already sensing a bad idea.
“I could sneak you out.” You offered.
“No way. My mother would know.”
“Not if we’re careful! And we won’t be gone long!” You pleaded.
Twilight crossed her arms in thought. Her eyes closed her a few moments, and then she sighed. “Alright. But if we get in trouble-“
“-all the blame will go to me!” You finished the sentence for her.
She cracked a small smile, and you swore you heard a chuckle. “Well then, shall we go?”
You nodded, then snapped your fingers, summoning a keyhole shaped portal. You looked to your left, then your right, before taking her hand. “Okay, quickly!” You then both jumped into the portal.
When you reached the other side, you were on the rooftop of Noble Academy, the Pretty Cure’s school. You immediately began scanning the area below you, looking for a victim.
As if she read your mind, Twilight began looking as well. It didn’t take long before she pointed to a girl next to a flower bed. “How about her?”
“She looks interesting! Thanks Twi!” You said. Twilight simply rolled her eyes at hearing her disliked nickname.
With a snap of your fingers, you teleported a few feet above the girl. “Hey! Lemme see that dream of yours!” You demanded.
“Huh? Who are you?” The girl asked. But no answer was given. You took a glimpse inside the girl’s dream. She held up a unique looking flower, while everyone around her cheered. The words “I wanna breed a new type of flower!” echoed in the picture.
“Huh, what an interesting dream. Too bad it’s mine now.” You said in a teasing tone. “Go forth, Zetsuborg!” You commanded. A lock wrapped around the dream, and took the form of a giant, thorny flower. The girl was then put in a cage that suspended in the air. “Go on, Zetsuborg! Have some fun!” You told it. It did as it was told, firing giant thorns from its body. All the nearby students began screaming and running away. With a chuckle, you turned to Twilight. “And now, we wait.”
“Do you think you’ll defeat the Pretty Cure this time?” She asked.
“Eh, not sure. But I don’t really care about that right now. I’m more in it for the fun!”
She simply hummed, and continued watching the chaos unfold.
~~~~
Unfortunately, your fun didn’t last long. The Princess Pretty Cure defeated your Zetsuborg in no time, freeing the dream from your grasp. “Darn. Oh well.” You shrugged. “C’mon Twi, let’s-“ A sudden voice in your head interrupted your sentence.
“(name), Twilight, see me immediately.”
It was Dyspear. And from the town of her voice, she was not happy.
“Mother…” Twilight whispered to herself, implying that she heard it too.
“Hey, it’s okay! Remember, I’m taking all the blame!” You placed a hand on her shoulder as an attempt to comfort her. Though, she didn’t seem convinced.
A portal sent the two of you back to the castle in no time. As expected, you could tell Dyspear was furious, even though her face appeared neutral. “Twilight, I believe I told you that you were not to leave the castle today.” Her voice was eerily calm.
“I know mother, but-“ Twilight began, though you cut her off.
“Dyspear, if I may. I was the one who took her out. I wanted to summon a Zetsuborg, and thought it would be good for her if she watched. Y’know, to get some experience. It was truly my fault. I’m very sorry.” You got on your knees, bowing lowly.
Dyspear hummed, and tapped her fingernail on the armrest of her throne. “Whether your intentions were good or not, you convinced my daughter to disobey my orders. And on top of that, you failed to defeat the Pretty Cure. So I’m sure you’re prepared for a punishment.”
“Yes, your majesty.” You remained bowing.
~~~~
Your punishment was surprisingly not too harsh. You were simply temporarily banned from going out and creating Zetsuborgs. You were also not allowed to be around Twilight for a while.
You were simply amazed that your life was spared. Though, you knew that Twilight most likely had something to do with it. And for that, you were eternally grateful.
A knock came from your bedroom door, so you went to see who it was. A piece of paper was slipped under it, so you picked it up. It was a note.
“Dear (name),
I’d like to sincerely thank you for taking all the blame. It was very kind of you. In return, I had convinced my mother to spare you.
You’re surprisingly enjoyable to be around, so I figured keeping you around would be better than having you destroyed.
I await for more of your ideas after your punishment has ended.
~ Your friend, Twi”
You were ecstatic at her note. Not only did she admit to being your friend, but she used her nickname! You hastily looked around for a piece of paper, eager to write her back.
“Dear Twi,
Thanks for getting me out of trouble! I guess we’re even now!
But I’ll still always be there for you. I’m your wing person and best friend. Your ‘wing-bestie”!
~ (name)”
You slid the note under your door, and eagerly waited. The clicks of heels signaled that Twilight was there again, and just a few moments later, another paper was given to you.
“Dear (name),
I appreciate your loyalty.
But please don’t use the term ‘wing-bestie’ ever again.
~ Twi”
