Arranged marriage au with Shoto. He’s quiet, barely even having a conversation with you since you first met a few months ago. And he always has a cold, stoic look on his face that makes you believe that he hates you. You would understand if he did, you weren’t exactly thrilled about the arrangement yourself.
tw: noncon, forced marriage, breeding kink, shoto really needs to learn how to communicate lmao. fem reader. everyone is 18+!
The marriage itself was beautiful, everything that money could buy. He didn’t touch you like a part of you was expecting him to, or even make you sleep in bed with him. He let you go wherever you want, sleep wherever, and he never asked for anything in return. He offered you everything, luxurious clothes, only the top of the line, sports cars, jewelry.
But none of that made you happy.
It felt like you were more roommates and for months you had no idea that he was only trying to make you comfortable. After all, he never wanted to be like his father. But the longer he waited, the more he watched you begin to drift away instead of moving closer to him the way he wants you to, he feels himself starting to crack.
He didn’t want to be in a loveless marriage, he wasn’t an abusive husband. So why were you seeking comfort in another man’s arms. You were laughing and hugging him, a bright smile that he’d never seen from you before.
It made jealousy bubble up inside him, made him want to act like the way most of his family would and burn him alive, and fuck you in front of him.
But Shoto was a good man, and he could think of thousands of ways to punish you without being like his father.
You're surprised to see him sitting on the comforter. “Who was that?”
“Who is who?” You asked confused, about to walk past when he sets down his drink and grabs your wrist.
“The man that was talking to my wife.”
Your eyes go wide. “Oh. He’s a childhood friend of mine. He’s nothing to be worried about.”
“I’m worried about any man that thinks he can talk to my wife.” He stood up. “I tried doing this the best way I thought. But I understand now that I didn’t think it through very well.”
Sniffling, you looked up at him. “No, you’re not a good husband, Shoto. I didn’t even know you liked me until now.”
“You’re right.” He stands up, looking down at you. “A good husband provides for his wife. Loves her, spoils her.” He looked down at you and you shivered. “Makes her scream with pleasure, gives her a family.”
You’re backed up into a wall, and he corners you. His hand reaches out, his thumb running down your lips. “I don’t deserve you,” he murmurs softly. “But I’ve been avoiding my husbandly duties for far too long.”
“Shoto no -” You try to speak up but he cuts you off the moment he takes off his belt.
“(Y/n),” he said your name so lovingly, in a way that you always wanted to hear. “I think we’re overdo for our honeymoon.”
-
He holds onto you gently, licking your tears away and gently thrusting into you, nearly collapsing from how good it feels to finally be inside you.
His moans are soft, but he’s still significantly more vocal than he usually is. He rubs your clit gently, making you wine with pleasure. Every time it sends him closer to the edge.
Shoto thinks about how good of a mother you’ll be. How gorgeous you’ll look with your tummy round and breasts full. It’s in his nature to be rough, but the first night of lovemaking he focuses all on you. Making sure every thrust gives you a burst of pleasure, hearing you mewl and not know if you’re begging him for one more time to cum.
It’s a miracle that he held himself back for so long, that he never saw the way your eyes almost roll to the back of your head and your body trembles every time he makes you orgasm. The look of shock as he fills you up, your tummy warm with his seed.
Poor you. You thought that having a loveless marriage was bad.
Now he wants this. Every single day.

Anybody else hoping for a Reverse WhiteKnight in Vacuo?
Like Weiss, who's never had to chase anyone before, being a complete spaz and awkwardly thirsting after a life-weary Jaune who's just tired and stoic and very much not amused?
Tumblr media
Because golly gosh damnit I need our boy to not just go back to being a bumbling, incompetent fool after literally living through his entire prime!
I'd pay good money to see RWBY facing down some ferocious Grimm and Jaune just casually walking up to it, no fear, no hesitation, and just tearing it apart, then moving on like it was nothing because he's a very disgruntled middle-aged man who has things to do and is done with everyone's shite.
I also have a vested interest in Jaune and Winter's chemistry now. It'd be easy to have Jaune sitting alone somewhere and Winter lending a concerned ear. Hearing his troubles, details about his time in the EverAfter he wouldn't share with the others. Winter remembering how she couldn't reach him before he fell, the last important person she failed to save, blaming herself for what he went through, and it haunting her. Then the both of them bonding over their shortcomings and hitting it off SPECTACULARLY!
Somewhere in the field of: "Guess Jaune's type hasn't changed, he just chose the wrong sister lol!" Weiss's feelings of inadequacy toward Winter resurfacing, seeing Winter's tender side, the irony of Jaune being very concious of how, this time, he'll be able to protect his "Maiden"!
The image of Jaune holding Winter close to his chest, sword in hand, murder in his eyes...
Tumblr media
And Jaune, rather than rejoining ORNE Oscar, Ren, Nora, Emerald, joins the ranks of the other "mentors" like Winter, Qrow, and Robin.
Oh geez, this just keeps getting longer! God I wish I had the patience to write fanfiction!

faunus Lion Yang with a happy trail and a mane
Yang: (wakes up with a yawn that morphs into a roar)
RWB: (wake up with a jolt)
Weiss: What the devil was that?!
Ruby: (pulls out Crescent Rose) Was that a Grimm?
Yang: Ha. Ha. Very funny, guys. (Jumps out of bed and stretches) Just because I snore like a bear and yawn louder than Bumblebee's engine doesn't mean I'm a Grimm.
Ruby: Whoa! Yang, you're a faunus!
Yang: What?
Weiss: Look in the mirror.
Yang: (Looks in the mirror and sees that her hair has turned into a full mane, the village trail growing underneath her navel is more prominent, and a lion til growing from her lower back) Whoa! How did that happen?!
Blake: (obviously eying Yang up from her bunk) I'm not complaining. Rawr~
Yang: (blinks before shooting Blake a smirk and finger gun) Hey~
Weiss: Save your thirst for when Ruby and I aren't in the room. Thank you very much.

swashbukcler au jaune levels up, he learns a little bit about utilizing his panach and swagger to enhance his abilities. that is to say so long as he acts like he knows what he's doing he's able to win because people psyche themselves out.... one of these days he's gonna get a real win. Anyways yang and ruby are up, can jaune con them into thinking he's a threat? and is jaune's dad impressed that his boy is able to take on huntresses? and why is pyrrha breathing heavily over the scroll when rwby calls back to beacon to explain what's going on?

---------------------------------------------------
"What would you have done, Dad?"
The elder Arc stroked his beard as he closed his eyes. A smile came to his face, a sign Jaune knew quite well. This was the face he made when he was daydreaming about his younger days of heroism. This would take a while, so Jaune continued helping sort through their library of books. His father's eyes then open and he whirled about on his wheels.
"Did I ever tell you about the time I went outside of the city, Jaune?"
Jaune blinked. No, he hadn't. All the stories Jaune heard were from when he was inside the city. He carried a book to his father, some old text on intercontinental trading. "You went outside Aquadia?"
"Yes, I did, my boy, and it may have helped bring all the tourists in, too!" He smiled wide as he began to rock himself in his chair, a sign that he was excited to begin telling his tale. "Back when I was about your age, I got a seriously bad case of the wander-lust."
"The wander-lust?" Jaune raised a brow, pulling Atlesian Economics from the shelf. "What's that?"
"It's a sickness only cured by roaming. Tell me, boy, have you ever looked to the sky and asked yourself, 'Is there something more to this?'"
"No, not really." He smiled. "All I could ever really want is right here in this city."
"Oh, sure, I thought that, too, kiddo," the father took the book from his son, "but then I looked to the sky and I saw a bird flying out of the city. I got to wondering, well, that very question I asked ya."
"Huh." Jaune thought for a moment. He remembered the Grimm that swam into the port a few days ago. Where did it come from? These thoughts were interrupted by his father cackling.
"That's it, boy! That's the exact same look I had when I asked my question!" He whirled around again, spilling books from his lap. "Oh, I'm remembering everything so vividly, I swear I was right there!"
"What was it like?" Jaune asked, picking up the books, only to sit down as his father began to tell his tale.
"Oh, it was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before!" He threw an arm out. "Imagine, a land where the sun and the moon can share the same sky, and their light covers all that you can see. Where there are no casting shades because there's no caldera to cover you. Where animals you could only see in books leap and roam all around you!"
Jaune leaned in on his hands as he tried to imagine himself there. It was a look his father never tired of seeing; innocence, wonder, and a thirst for adventure, all rolled into two ocean-blue eyes full of stars. The story seemed to last only minutes as Jaune hung onto every word his father spoke. He was so distracted, that he didn't notice that an hour had passed, nor had he noticed that he wasn't the only audience member.
"Wow..." Ruby said next to him. Jaune leapt away with a yelp. "Sorry, I wasn't interrupting, was I?"
"Oh no, I was just finishing up the story of when I was coming back from my journey. Home was calling me back, and I found my way into the heart of a young maiden along the way."
"I'm assuming this is your wife?" Blake asked, causing Jaune to leap into Ruby's arms from the other side.
"Do all of you sneak up like this?" Jaune asked.
"I don't know," Ruby groaned before dropping him, "are all of you Aquadians this heavy?"
"Only after a good meal!" Jaune's father bellowed, slapping his belly a few times. "And to answer your question, yes, it was. See, I met her as she was being accosted by bandits. Why, I was in such a fury, I accidentally attacked a huntress I mistook for one of their own! See, the young maiden, my future bride, Jaune's mother, was being escorted by a Huntress/Huntsman team. The team was made up of two Huntsman and two Huntresses." He looked close at Ruby. "And I'd say their leader had the same silver eyes as you, my dear." Ruby gasped. "And when I rushed in to help, I drew my blade, crying-"
"NICHOLAS ARC!" The older man flinched. "I thought you were going to be looking over the city's basic income program, not telling stories to our guests whom I hired to do their job, much like Jaune should be doing his job of helping you with yours." She huffed, walking away.
"I... suppose that's all for now."
"Was she always that bossy?" Ruby asked.
"Believe it or not, yes, she was. Even while being rescued."
---------------------------------------------------
Jaune ran from rooftop to rooftop, the same as he did the night before. While he was out running errands, he listened in on the two huntresses out shopping for supplies... and souvenirs. Playing with her La Lama Lunga action figure, the round one, Ruby mentioned how excited she was to be working with Yang tonight, the older sister of the two sharing her excitement. Judging by how they looked during their fight against the Grimm, he surmised that they'd be different fighters than Weiss was.
Where Weiss was light on her feet, as was common with fencers, Ruby was far lighter and likely more dexterous with her scythe while Yang was all brute force with her gauntlets. He figured out a plan to give him an exit. While one attacked him, he'd bolt for the other one, slip past, and watch the two collide with one another. It was foolproof!
"Gotcha!" He looked behind him to find Yang leaping after him. He couldn't see Ruby, which meant she was probably preparing to ambush him. Making a sharp turn, he leapt across to the other building...
"Gotcha!" Said a voice that wasn't Ruby's. He swung down, covering his face as he smacked into a nice, old lady's potted plants. As he looked up, he saw on the other end of the line was an amber-eye shadow within the shade.
"That's not Ruby." He groaned, rolling from the ground. Looks like he was staying at the street level. "New plan, new plan..."
"Incoming!" He jumped away, barely missing the explosive landing of the blonde bombshell brawler. And yes, it was explosive, like with concussive force and heat and everything. "Sorry to drop in on your escape."
"No, no, it's totally cool." Jaune picked himself up from the ground. "Not like I was blowing anywhere."
"Pfft! Not bad." She was a jokester. Maybe he could use this.
"Yang, focus." Or maybe not. The one that wasn't Ruby perched behind Yang on a balcony. One he recognized.
"What happened to my biggest fan?" Jaune asked. "Did we have a falling out? Tossing me to the curb already?"
"You're a criminal, and we were hired to-"
"I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU KIDS TO STAY OFF MY BALCONY!" Right on time, an old man burst open the balcony door, swinging his cane left and right. Blake fell backwards, surprised by the sudden, and hostile, arrival of the old man. "DON'T THINK I DIDN'T HEAR YOU BREAKING MY WIFE'S POTS!"
Jaune started to get ideas. Turning on his heel, he ran down the street, following the waterway down the block before jumping over. He could hear Yang shouting as she gave chase down the alleyway. This would be a risky move, but worth it if he succeeded.
He slowed down to a walking pace, making his lungs struggle to breath through only his nose. Yang continued running, getting closer and closer. He could feel her hand reach out, grabbing his cloak.
"GOTCHA!" She tugged, feeling him get closer.
"Did you?" He said in a soft voice, ducking and kicking his legs out, shoving himself into her. His cloak came loose, and he ran away as fast as he could.
"Ah, dang- WAH!" Yang fell into the water as a barking dog scared the daylights out of her. With a splash, she lost sight of the legendary La Lama Lunga. "Damn."
"No luck, either, huh?" A hand reached down to her.
"You could say that." Yang took Blake's hand. She then used her free hand to cover her mouth.
"Don't." Blake warned, a welt growing a third bump on her head. "He's gone again, isn't he?"
"Yeah." Yang shook her head. "This mission really is going to the dogs, huh?" She snickered, pointing to the still barking dog down the road.
Blake pushed her into the water.
---------------------------------------------------
"Really?" Ruby sighed. "Okay."
"I take it that was Yang and Blake." Weiss asked.
"Yup. Looks like Bumblebee was a letdown."
"Well, it was kind of last minute, wasn't it?"
"I thought they would work better than me and Yang." She groaned. "And I have to tell the mayor about this, too..."
"Well, you know who I think would help?"
"You mean...?"
Weiss nodded. "I'm sure the mayor won't be too displeased to have another huntress team coming to help. Especially someone who's been here before."

Happy new year 2023! Here's to another year filled with Mammon thoughts.
And right now I'm thinking about going to a casino with him, by now everyone knows you as "Mammon's Girl" known around the place for always going around causing ruckus when Mammon is specially greedy, but today, today is different, he isn't the one playing, it's you, he's watching you with big sparkling eyes, taking on your figure, your smile when you look at him after winning expecting a proud grin from him, drinking expensive demonous, watching how you win round after round, game after game, pact mark glowing and burning every time you win, proud grin plastered on his face because yes! That is Mammon's Girl and she's cleaning the floor with all these demons leaving them with empty pockets, one of the demons gets mad "I'm not letting a dumb little human leave with my money..." he's not even finishing his sentence when he shuts up completely, one of Mammon's arms around your waist the other griping the edge of the table shielding you from the demon, he's not saying anything but you can hear a low growl and the air around shifting, the demon steps back, hands up signaling that he's been defeated before anything could even start, Mammon smiles at you and he drags you to cash all your gains for the night, you're already clenching your tights from him being such a boss protecting you and showing you around (no one needs to know that this was one of his schemes) you take all your money from the night and get in his car, hands all over each other, pact marks glowing brighter from the greediness for each other and the smell of money and arousal, you managed to make it back home, even scaping Lucifer's watchful eyes, throwing thousands of grimm on his bed in the process of tearing at each other clothes, you end up fucking in a pile of money, you can feel him rough, and sweet, protective and possessive, the night filled with your moans and his "that's my treasure" "such a good naughty girl" "taking me so well", three orgasms later you end up trying to catch your breath and as he pulls out he can see his cum dripping out of you on to the bed covered in money, some bills ruined with cum and others sticking to the sweat that runs down your body, but to him is such a fantasy, your hair dishevelled, red plump lips from his kisses, bite marks of his fangs all over your naked body, dripping with sweat and his cum, and the air starts to shift again, "perfect, and all mine, made just for me" is the last thing you hear before he's hard again and in full demon form for you to see, his demeanour changed too, you can feel the greed filling the room, he puts his hands on your ankles and he drags you to the edge of the bed, he feels different, wild, almost animalistic, too demonic, but that doesn't scares you, he will never hurt you, he lifts you up as if you weigh nothing and you're being thrown to the bed again, face shoved against his soft pillows, ass up in the air, pussy still dripping, cum running down your tights, you can't protest, you don't want to, you just want him all over you, too cock drunk to care, he's inside of you in no time again growling and grunting, moaning your name and softs sounds of "you're my most prized possession, my treasure" he keeps saying your name, he can't get enough of you, nor you can get enough of him, you know that your demon has a soft sweet side to him almost too angelic, too close to be human, at least for a demon, and he knows you have a little bit of darkness on you, a mischievous side of you only for him to see, and you accepted and loved him like that and he did the same to you, perfect for each other.
Damn that was long but my thirst for this man knows no bounds.

This is a Ren Cinematic Universe moment
Tumblr media
Did a quick update on my Ren designs. Note: King RenTheKing isn't included because I don't see him as someone separate from ren himself. Grimm (Demised RenBob) is my own mini au I guess? Don't really know what he would be, but I like to imagine him n Grim are a team in killin'.
If anyone cares, details on them below!
Base things on all of them: All of them have some sort of enchanted band on them with protection. If they were to remove it, they would just be some big dogs. (This way I get both Ren and dog Ren >:D)
Have you seen those glasses without the arms just pinch to your nose bridge? Yeah, they kinda need them. Dog ears lol.
They all have diffrent versions of Ren's facial hair. Obvi Grimm's is based on Renbob's and the others are based on Ren's. Example, Red still has the same shape of stubble like ren, but his is much thicker and a bit messier like his hair.
Their hand nails are all diffrent too if that counts.
Ren: Legit just basic Ren Diggity Dog. Pan flag colours on his ear peircings. Leg coverings are layers of leather that button in the back to keep them from being too damaged while working. Prot band is on his left arm. It's made of netherite so it can't be destroyed...unless he runs into a cactus. Very fluff, is a good boy.
Red (King): Still grey from the death games and curse, but has a bit of colour unlike the demised. His hair is much messier and a bit longer than Ren's. Ears are more pointed like a wolf. When Ren was King, Red made his crown and cape for him. Red still thinks he's better though. Slacks are tighter fit around his knees for movement. ROYAL BLUE BABY- Not a chestplate, but has gold plating around his neck and shoulder that holds his cape. Gold cuffs on his feet because he hated the lack of movement with full leg coverings. Gotta protec those toe beans. Cape is pinned to his sleeve so it moves with him. Very elegant. Prot band on his left hand is a gift from Martyn. Has his symbol so he may always protect his king in some form. Martyn also learned the hard way that Red's cape is basically a giant weighted blanket. How the hell does he carry that?!
(Ren) Bob: Sometimes the hermits call him Rob. Basically a Timmy/Jimmy situation. Again, just basic RenBob. Very flowy clothing. His necklace is a crystal gifted from Impulse back in season 6. He also has earrings made from Grian's feathers he'll wear. They tickle sometimes though, so it's not often. No leg protection. Wants to "Be connected to the world" or whatever he said. Most of his jewlry is wooden. The wooden earrings pull his ears down a bit, but he likes the floppy ears anyway. Prot band is wooden braclet on his right arm. He has a wide variety of goofy cardigans. The egg one is one of his favourites.
(Link to the actual cardigan if you want it)
Grim (Dog): Demised Ren. Kinda like the life games, he has a thirst for death. Maybe not as intense, but he'll sometimes be in a hunting mood. There are tallymarks on his arm are a count of how many he's killed. He's very grateful for the respawn system, he can play these games forever now! Loves very outgoing deaths. Explosions and fireworks are his favourite. NEVER TRUST HIM WITH A CROSSBOW. Prot band is a choker hidden by his hood. Died from fall damage. In death, he invent footwear better than featherfalling to keep him from perishing like that again. (Think long fall boots from Portal. They're shock absorbers.) Has a fear of heights, but he'll never admit that to you. Eyes may look like pure white, but you'll see his iris in a dark room. The iris and pupil glow white, the sclera don't. And yes, his glasses are the shape of coffins.
Grimm (Bob): Demised RenBob! (Rob???) Also gets the urge to kill but prefers not to. When he does, it is much quieter deaths like drowning or suffocation. Grimm prefers to follow around Grim and tend to the dead. Arranging graves, leave flowers, tag you with how you died, that's all him! Died by suffocation. Nobody knows how but Grim. Doesn't talk very much. The most you'll hear is him muttering prayers to the dead. Sometimes he'll also just say a single word and scare the daylights out of somebody. Prot band is a choker beneath his hood aswell. Eyes are just like Grim's; You won't see his iris, but it's there. May not have the weird cardigans like his counterpart, but a few hermits are a fan of his glasses. Tango loves the X glasses. Reminds him of cartoons!
That's all I can think of right now. Any questions? Feel free to ask!
(Suggest more silly cardigans for renbob and I might draw them)

Plot Bunny that will not leave me
--Salem gathered the 4 Relics and successfully summoned the gods. The Brother Gods deem humanity unworthy and cast Ultima, once again decimating the entire human population except for 2. --Jaune and Ruby are the only survivors; due to Ruby and Jaune's Aura being linked and successfully neutralizing the Brother's attack. --Jaune and Ruby wander around empty Remnant, with Ruby pretty non-responsive. She walks she eats and breathes, but she does not talk does not laugh nor emotes. Jaune is little better, but can still force himself to push through for Ruby's sake. If there is one thing he was good at, it was being strong for someone else.
--Jaune and Ruby find ruins regarding Salem and Ozma's time, during the Age of First Humanity. Within them is a library with old tomes and grimoires. Most of them are ruined, but some of them are in perfect condition despite clearly being ancient. --Signs that someone occasionally read them in recent times are apparent. Jaune discovers even more secrets by way of notations made by someone within the texts. Speaks of how the Soul is made of Light and Dark, and while humans have learned to harness the Light, the ways of Darkness have been lost and reduced to mere myth or at best, as obscure cults.
--Jaune reads everything he finds aloud for Ruby to hear as well, even if he is unsure if she is even listening. He makes sure that she eats her food and makes sure to keep her healthy. 3 years since the end have passed and Ruby has yet to respond. --Jaune realizes that most of the texts speak regarding the harnessing of Light and Darkness, and how full mastery of both can lead to a fusion of sorts, which could lead to the successful usage of the soul's full potential. Some notations even theorize that whatever the "Darkness of the Soul" is, it is most likely associated with Grimm and their make-up. --Jaune recalls the converstations he had with Pyrrha back at Beacon, how everytime she spoke to him and taught him about Aura, she spoke about it in a way that was very similar to spiritual doctrines and beliefs. And how everything she told him were basically repeated in the tomes and grimoires. --Some texts also spoke about a time far before even Salem's. Specifically, they spoke about a "Tyrant of Light" and about how the Darkness was constantly being mislead and betrayed by it, and how the tyrant's desire for Absolute Order caused it to create heartless laws in order to keep all creation under the grip of its authority while hypocritically referring to it as "maintaining peace", despite said tyrant also being the one who often drove zealots to cause wars and unrest by crusading on its name every time humanity seemed to have reached a golden age.
--5 years since the end of the world and Ruby still hasn't shown any changes to her condition, while Jaune has now taken to travelling across the desolate Remnant in search of more tomes, texts or even any more objects or relics that can describe more about the old age; his newfound thirst for knowledge and helping Ruby being the only things that kept him from completely shutting down like Ruby had.
--He now knew some magic spells, though he did not have Magic to use them, but has tried to access the so-called "Darkness of the Soul" the texts spoke of, in order to fuse it with "The Light of the Soul", that is to say Aura, in order to create a new energy he hypothesized to be equal to Magic. Jaune's belief was, that if he could use "The Power of the Soul in it's Totality", and if he could use Magic with it; then maybe he could tinker with it until he could finally use the knowledge that gave him his hope back.
--A tome spoke of an ancient time spell. The wizard who wrote it, one who hailed from a time before Salem and Ozma; spoke of how humanity's fate had long been decided. The wizard also spoke about how "The Tyrant of Order" had actually come to disdain his and his brother's creation due to them always using their free will in way he did not approve. To the one of Light, free will meant "Having Free Will to choose to submit to him"; but humans were too independent, the more the one of Light tried to impose his will upon them, the more he tried to force them to a certain path, the more the humans defied him and rebelled. While Dark had animosity for the humans due to their lack of acknowledgement, he also greatly respected their drive to survive and thrive. Even the Grimm were, in his eyes, his own way of showing affection.
--To the "Lord of Destruction", Grimm were not only meant as a tool to cull the truly vile and evil (Jaune: "Wait, is that why they always seemed to sense focus on negative emotions"), they were also meant to give humans a challenge, a struggle. A constant battle that would force humans to constantly adapt, constantly grow, constantly evolve; it was meant to feed the fire of their determination and their passion for life. Although humans, in turn, saw it as the hatred of a scorned deity was never acknowledged for his actions nor thanked for his gifts.
--Back in the truly ancient days, the "God of Darkness" and the "God of Light" were equally worshipped and revered. Light and Dark, Life and Death, Creation and Destruction; these two concepts were acknowledged as the two pillars that served as the foundation of their world's laws. While one saw humans with an affection akin to how one would care for a toy for their own amusement, the other considered humans as no more than puppets for him to control, no more than servants to praise him. To one, their free will and spirit was what made humans interesting and entertaining; to the other, it is what made them insolent and compelled them to chase their own self-destruction. .........More to be added later

Gojo's the type that makes it so easy to forget how obsessive he is. Until he has his arms wrapped around you a little too tight in a back hug when there's someone trying to get close to you, holding you close to him so you can't move away. He'll lean in close and whisper in your ear, "I hope this one can put up a fight. It was unfortunately what happened to the last one." He says it in such a playful tone you almost think that he's joking.
And he's so casual when he degrades you to make you insecure to stay with him. "There's no way someone as weak as you can survive out there alone. Just stick by me, and I'll keep you safe, alright?" He'll smile sweetly and follow it by kissing your cheek so you forget what he just implied.
He's just so sneaky. Knows how to make you look past all his red flags and manipulative tactics to keep you wrapped around his finger. Taking you out to lavish dates and charming you with sweet, expensive gifts he knows you can't resist while slowly isolating you from all your friends and family. Like a lobster in boiling water, you don't even realize he has you trapped until you're locked away in his home and unable to leave. <33

Tyler wakes up.
Content: BBU, facility whump, whumper turned whumpee; this is a short one.
Bright.
White.
Everything was white.
Of course.
Tyler came to in a tiled, white room. His body hurt, every bone, every muscle screaming in agony. Slowly, he tried to assess his situation.
Nothing was broken, he figured. The batons weren't meant to break bones. They were meant to inflict pain.
He knew.
He knew so much about this.
He knew how taut to pull the bindings around his wrists and ankles, in a way that didn't do permanent damage but still made it clear there was no use in fighting.
He knew what the slight pressure around his neck implied, he knew how they'd have fixed that collar, he knew where the electrode sat against his skin, he knew how the weight of the controller to it felt, laying in a handler's palm.
He knew how many cameras there were in this room, how many people fit into the room behind that mirror, and yet how little proof of what happened in here would ever make it outside.
He knew.
He knew every single fucking step of the very protocol that would make sure Tyler Parker ceased to exist.
What he hadn't known was how much the bright white light hurt his eyes, even with his lids closed.
How horrible it felt to have some hair caught in the collars buckle and no chance at even touching it.
How chilling the cold draft was, brushing over his bruised skin, when one couldn't move out of it.
How thirst could make his throat hurt, even after a few hours.
He hadn't known how just hard his stomach could clench just from hearing low laughter somewhere behind his head.
He wasn't alone. There was someone with him in the white room. Of course. He should've known that, too. He groaned, and the noise felt good, a vain attempt to cover up his dread with something else.
"Good morning, Parker." Someone stepped into his vision against the bright light, a tall man in a WRU uniform. Senior handler Jared Grimm, the facility's chief handler. It hadn't been him whose laugh Tyler had heard. It had been more than one. It meant that- No. He wouldn't think about it.
Grimm slowly spun a controller in his hand, while studying Tyler's face, awaiting a reply.
"Good..." Tyler swallowed against the dryness in his throat. "Good morning, handler."
"Playing the trainee part already, Parker? Won't do you much good. I'll use that thing on you anyways, and we both know it." Grimm chuckled. "But for now, I do like the attitude. Hope you keep it up when we ask you some questions later on."
He pulled in a chair. "Alex is in the hospital, within an inch of their life. A potential informant's memory fried under your watch. And some leftist journalist with a little too much knowledge is on the loose, who just so happened to be your girlfriend. There's quite a bit you'll have to answer for."
On the loose. Tara. Tyler exhaled slowly. The one thing he could've hoped for. His own fate was sealed anyway. Had been in the moment he'd first stepped into this place.
He just regretted this hadn't ended sooner. Before Suzy. Before 238... before Danielle.
'I don't think I signed up for this', she'd said. He'd punished her for it. Weeks, months, in the white rooms of WRU, until nothing of herself was left, while Tyler lived a good life off his WRU pay checks.
Tyler wondered, if the Drip was strong enough to erase guilt.

Astrisse had been walking through the deep, biting winter for two months now. Walking and never looking back, for turning back meant Death. Such was the harsh law of the North.
Winter was merciless. It nibbled at your body and mind, leaving only despair and the desire to die. The white landscapes taunted her and her deeply human weaknesses. There was nothing more vicious than Winter. No blade nor gallows here, just the terrible sensation of freezing to death until, finally, an inferno burnt inside you, like a merciful act of the Gods before Death took you.
Astrisse did not want to die. Not until she had honoured her pact. Not even the great Winter could stop her burning thirst for revenge.
This desire, no, this need, made her forget the cold and her torments. The pain and fatigue were just mirages that the New Gods were placing in her path to confuse her. She would resist them like a Grimm: with dignity and strength.
Above Death, We Fly.
Sometimes, when the cold became too strong and crept under the fur of the wolf she had killed three weeks earlier, she would pray to the Old Gods and her ancestors, those born out of the chaos of winter and the bitterness of snow.
Astrisse descended from the branch of the Black Crows: The Grimms of Gods Eye, guardians of the Isle of Faces and Kings of the First Men⏤a long way from the branch of the White Crows, who had ascended to this destructive North and tamed it.
When the Gods failed to answer her, she had a word for those ancestors she had never known, but whose memory accompanied her on her journey. Her prayers also went unanswered, but they warmed her heart when all seemed lost. They gave her the strength to keep walking and keep fighting.
The cold was one thing, the Wildlings' attacks, another. Their repeated onslaughts had been wearing down her joints, which were already riddled with frost, and dulling the blade of her sword to no purpose.
The blood she wanted to spill was not theirs.
Her footsteps crunched in the snow. Astrisse could no longer feel her toes. In the distance, the black, prickly silhouette of a forest took shape and stained the expanse of ice. At last.
For a few seconds, the woman hesitated to light a fire. A few branches of wood, amidst the water skins and a few scraps of dried meat, still lay at the bottom of her leather bag. But she resisted the temptation. Too dangerous. The smoke would alert the souls that the bright orange and red would finish attracting.
She could count on her frozen fingers the number of times flames had danced in the freezing cold and rekindled her flesh. The nights were the worst. Without a crackling fire, the gloomy silence, the freezing cold, and the complete darkness turned it into a moment of psychological torture. Who knew what lurked in the night, waiting for the right moment to strike?
A rustle echoed in the white immensity. Astrisse immediately grabbed her bow. She drew an arrow from her quiver and nocked it. Without a sound, she moved forward and listened carefully. The crunch of her footsteps. The howling of the wind. The irregular crumbling of loose stones. Nothing unusual.
Astrisse thought she'd imagined it⏤madness had been lurking around her as of late⏤but it happened again. A rustle. Like the sound of cloth. No. It couldn't have been her imagination. She squinted. More than turning her mad, the cold was blinding her. The snow blurred the landscape and darkened it, leaving only a thick grey blanket. You couldn't see more than a mile away.
Probably a wolf, Astrisse thought. A vain attempt to reassure herself. The North was populated by kingly animals. No humans to hunt or tame them. They were as ferocious as when the Old Gods placed them on earth, at its very beginning. She gripped her arrow a little tighter between her index and middle finger. She was not afraid to kill a wolf, not when she was wearing the skin of one on her back.
That damned rustle again. Closer, this time.
Astrisse turned round abruptly.
Through the thick snowstorm, two blue eyes glinted. Two piercing yet motionless beads, only a few metres away. There was no silhouette or shadow to give her any clue as to the identity of this thing. Just this pair of disturbing, penetrating eyes.
Astrisse was certain of one thing as a series of shivers ran down her spine.
This was no animal.
“Who goes there?” she shouted.
The wind seemed to howl a little louder and muffled Astrisse's words in its gusts.
“Who are you? State your name!”
She squinted a little more, trying to make out something other than its eyes, but she could not. There was no way for her to know whether it was a Wildling or someone else. The strange figure did not answer her, but the eyes seemed to get bigger, and that sordid rustle resounded again.
Astrisse almost dropped her bow when the snowstorm moved aside and let it through.
Impossible.
Her hand trembled around the notch of her arrow, a lifeline at this instant, perhaps her only chance to escape.
So, the old tales her nurse had told her were true. The Dead could walk.
She gulped.
In front of her was not a man but a corpse walking towards her. His rags revealed rotten, perforated flesh, pierced by bones burnished by time and dirt. A rusty sword swung with each of his irregular steps.
Astrisse fired her first arrow but the Other kept moving, unperturbed. His blue eyes had not let go of her for a single second. Her arrow was not even an afterthought. It meant nothing to him; this being made more of air than flesh. Because he was, or rather he had been.
She had not been afraid when the wolf had appeared in the middle of the night three weeks earlier. She had not been afraid when Wildlings had attacked her by surprise and left her bleeding. She had not been afraid when she had heard strange whispers on the coldest nights.
For the first time in a long time, a gust of fear chilled her veins and wet her trousers. The North had taken her strength and health. It was now taking her courage.
Astrisse fired a second arrow, which passed between two exposed ribs and strayed into the ice behind the creature. With trembling hands, she hooked her bow behind her back and drew Heartseeker, the sword of Wyllam III Grimm, the last King of the First Men who had resisted Aegon the Conqueror and paid the price with his blood.
Her ancestor.
Would she suffer the same fate as him? Fire had been his doom. Would hers be Ice?
With only fear and adrenalin in her brain, she attacked.
Before her, the blue eyes came to life with the surge of pure rage that seized the skeleton. It let out an inhuman scream, somewhere between a shrill cry and a hiss.
The sound of Death.
It was tolling the bells. Her time had come.
The sheer strength of his blow had Astrisse taking several steps back when she parried it. The ice made the ground unstable and slippery. For a brief moment, she wondered whether Heartseeker would resist. Was Valyrian steel⏤perhaps the most precious metal in all of Westeros⏤a mere blade of iron in the face of Death?
Her years of combat training, with her mother and her teachers, seemed to vanish under her own eyes. No reflexes, no tactics, just her survival instinct to guide and defend her.
She didn't stand a chance.
Above Death, We Fly, a voice whispered to her.
Astrisse raised Heartseeker and brought it down hard on the Other's shoulder. It split the air and the putrid remains of flesh. His arm fell to the ground, but in the next second it was twisting and reaching for her ankles.
At first, she tried to crush the moving limb, but its fingers snaked to avoid her heavy sole and came dangerously close to her heel. She kicked it. The arm disappeared further into the snow, but Astrisse knew it would be back, however worrying that thought might be.
Fatigue made her movements heavy and slow. Astrisse could feel it as well as see it⏤her blows weren't grazing him and were losing their offensive quality. Death, on the other hand, was not weakening. It delivered emotionless blow after emotionless blow, the only witness to the soul that had once resided in this body being those two big blue eyes, too bright to be the work of the Gods.
A guttural howl from deep inside her chest hit and scrapped Astrisse's throat. A stabbing pain burned her flesh and blood. The Other had thrust his sword into her shoulder. She felt the blood trickle down and weave through her collarbone, colonising her flesh and clothes.
Astrisse mustered her last bit of strength to bring the sword down on what was left of his pelvis. As she raised her blade, the Other suddenly stopped. By reflex, she imitated him. Calm returned and all the pain in her limbs hit her at full force. She hissed.
But then, Astrisse heard them. Screams. Further away. The Dead turned towards the noise, once again trapped in his mortuary slowness.
Astrisse seized her only chance and ran. Running and never looking back. To look back was to die. And Astrisse wasn't finished with life yet.
Dying would have to wait.
It was difficult to say how long she ran. The snowy, white landscape transformed into trees, sometimes bare, sometimes covered in leaves⏤oscillating between life and death, Winter and Spring. Breathing meant agony. Every step made her suffer and triggered an immense pain in her chest⏤like a fire you could not put out. Forgetting the pain and running. Always running. Never looking back.
Astrisse soon stopped running when she was certain that the Other had not followed her. She welcomed the silence of the forest as an old friend. No rustling, no mournful cry, no blue eyes.
This strange, almost supernatural colour, like the embodiment of ice, glinted in her mind and paralysed her thoughts. It colonised her being and her memories, making her forget everything she had experienced so far, leaving only that horrifying look. If Astrisse had died today, her last memory would not have been of her mother, but of those two blue eyes.
The thought terrified her.
Astrisse struggled to banish the memory of those blizzard-sculpted eyes and found refuge in the bloody eyes of the heart-tree she stumbled upon.
She breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of those red tears. Hers flowed silently down her cheeks, transparent but coloured by a strange mixture of fear and joy. All around her, branches covered in red leaves seemed to embrace her. The Ancient Gods had placed these weirwood trees there to protect her.
Astrisse fell to her knees in front of the wooden carved face and did what anyone who had cheated Death would do.
She prayed.
Astrisse murmured her prayer to the nameless Gods of the wood and stood there in silence. All nature around her awoke. The Gods were answering her. In the rustle of the leaves, the crunch of the snow and the whisper of the wind, they conveyed their message of hope and resilience.
Winter was just one of many trials, a rite of passage to her final destination. To give up now was to fail. The Grimms did not fail. She was living proof of that.
A noise disturbed the comforting calmness of the forest. Astrisse stood up. Her knees, seized by the cold, creaked. She grabbed Heartseeker's hilt, her gaze fixed on the confused mass of trees and its darkness, searching for the source of the sound.
Nothing. Just this rustling, but the wind was now breathless. The leaves above her had stopped moving. Her heartbeat quickened. Her hands trembled. Death had found her. No doubt about it. It had come to claim its due.
Déjà vu. Running. Leaving the trees and the Gods behind. Running. The trees seemed to have multiplied. Their sheer number and resemblance almost stunned her.
But then her eyes met the boundary between green and white, between forest and ice and snow, and that long white path to a gigantic wall carved out of the frost⏤a terrestrial iceberg.
This was no ordinary wall. It was the Wall, built millennia ago, when the Grimm were still the most powerful House in all of Westeros. This dam of ice looked down on the whole world. It was ineffable. It had existed for dozens of generations. Its existence could no longer be explained. One just had to accept it.
From down below, she could almost imagine the men of the Night's Watch on duty. Perhaps they could see her. Her nanny had told her many stories about these men, about what they fought and held outside Westeros. At the time, lulled by the naivety of childhood, she had not believed these tales.
The wound on her shoulder would be a reminder, a lesson for the future⏤Truth always lies in stories.
A black spot in the middle of the Wall caught her attention. The gate. Closed. She looked behind her. The forest had gone back to sleep; still and silent, it sent a shiver down her spine.
The North had nothing more to offer her. Her time beyond the Wall would come to an end on this day. She now had to cross it and join the cities and monarchies that all those impostors had built. She had to get back to the land of her ancestors. She had to get back to Gods Eye.
Astrisse said a silent prayer to the Old Gods and raised her head to the sky⏤so white and thick that not a cloud deigned to intrude. She closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths, and let her body feel.
Above Death, We Fly.

"Under fantasy disguise" part Scarabia
Well… this part was written several months ago, but I made myself to sit and edit it only now. You probably (just like me) forgot what this series was about, so I will leave links to the previous parts here: world lore (prologue) heartslabyul savanaclaw octavinelle
Tumblr media
To say that the landing was soft was a clear understatement. Coughing up water from your lungs, you sat down on the shore. Damn this world - breath in - let the sky collapse on this lake - breath out.
Stretching, you had already cooled down, but the unpleasant aftertaste still remained. Soaked through and sticking to the body clothes added weight and heaviness to thoughts. An unusual dryness was felt in the mouth, despite the recent "bathing", and the desire to go, in general, was gone and was not going to return.
Three days.
This seemed to be negligible for such a large to-do list. You wanted to hug knees and sit on the sand until the end of deal, but there was definitely no time for that. That was what Ashengrotto was now counting on. To convince him otherwise was for the sake of Grimm and corny on principle.
Taking another deep breath, which reflected the gravity of the situation and your attitude towards it, you slowly got to your feet and walked in a random direction, hoping that it would lead you to the desert.
What time was it now? What day was it? At some point, you stopped orienting yourself in space at all. You didn't know how much time had passed since the beginning of the journey, but never before had you felt it so clearly.
Clothes still stuck to the body, but for a different reason. The sun from above burned harder than in Savanaclaw, as if trying to burn everything in its path. Sweat covered your eyes, the lack of water and at the same time thirst were felt more than usual. As if in contrast, at night the temperature dropped so rapidly that after a couple of minutes you thought that even the bones were covered with frost.
Such a rapid difference did not pass without a trace, you felt more and more nausea rising to your throat. Your head was ready to burst with pain. With every passing second, moving became more and more difficult. When, finally, the forces ran out and benting at the knees, you fell on the sand - thoughts occupied only one thing. Just to ease the pain for a moment, dispel the fog in head. Falling down on the hot sand, you closed your lids. Just for a couple of minutes.
Opening your eyes, you abruptly tried to sit up. At that very moment, everything went dark in your eyes, and all the muscles in body tensed in mute refusal. Frozen for a few moments, or maybe minutes, you silently waited for the veil to fall. As soon as itstepped back, you immediately began to look around.
You sat on the bed, different pillows and ottomans were scattered everywhere. The room had white walls with golden patterns. Moreover, it slipped everywhere in a single style: in the frame of the wardrobe, on the lattice of the window, the decorations of the head of the bed, the quality of the fabric of the sheets and velvet carpets. It was scary to imagine where you ended up, but even more you didn’t want to think about how much time had passed.
How much you had.
Your gaze involuntarily dropped to chest, a bright yellow shell. It, as if in mockery, continued to glow with a soft light, reminding of an unfulfilled task. Almost gritting your teeth, you threw back the covers and stepped barefoot on the warm floor. The tension in the body did not take long, but, ignoring the signals of your own body, you walked towards the door.
Did you had any other choice? At one point, you completely forgot about the existence of freedom of decision. From the moment you entered this crazy world, you doomed to wander around in search of a way out. Did it ever exist?
Grabbing the handle, you shook your head violently, bringing back the unpleasant noise in your head. It was better than these thoughts. By throwing open the door, you startled the guard standing next to you. The young man looked at you in confusion, trying to decide what to do next. Without giving him a chance to breathe, you took a step forward, forcing him to take one back.
"... head.." the voice sounded hoarse, barely audible, but you had long ceased to be surprised "..take me to him"
"I… so, wait," the guard was clearly confused, his clothes were fluttering in one direction, then in the other.
"Or I'm going to faint right now"
The phrase did not sound like a threat, but somehow it worked, and the young man, once again casting a glance around, nodded and turned around, ready to go. The corridors merged into one colored lump. However, you were in no condition to inspect the art. Stopping near the door twice as big as the others, the guard glanced at you warily. You just snorted, looking away.
"Head of Al-Asim have been asked for an audience!" Exhaling, he knocked several times to indicate his presence
After a while, footsteps sounded and the door swung open. Behind it, a richly dressed youth appeared, his brown hair swaying slightly with movement. His eyes narrowed in displeasure as soon as he spotted you, but soon his face returned to a neutral expression.
"The head is busy, if your business is insignificant-.."
"Jamil, what is it? Guests? Let them in!" He did not have time to finish, another, more sonorous, voice was heard from the room. As you understand, that was the real ruler of the lands.
Jamil sighed tiredly. It was clear that he still wanted to turn you around on the threshold, but the desire of the head was the law. Therefore, with a displeased face, he took a step back, letting you inside. Nodding in replacement of gratitude to the guard, you stepped forward.
Immediately, a different picture appeared to your eyes. Marble floors trimmed with gold, painted carpets, on which stood trays with sparkling, polished dishes. Most importantly huge windows opened a view to the sand dunes. Lamps was hanging on wall and bright red translucent curtains fluttering on a wind. If there was a description for the word 'wealth', then now you saw it right in front of you.
You expected to see anyone, but not a young man a little older than yourself. He smiled amiably, beckoning with his hand to come closer. For the entire period of being in this world, you managed to take a sip a lot of bitter medicine, so you approached with caution. However, the person sitting in the center did not radiate the same danger that you felt from the other residents.
“Good afternoon,” you said, clearing your throat and bending over in a bow. "I'm sorry for the sudden visit."
"No problem!" He brushed off your words, still smiling. In contrast to Jamil, who was standing next to him. You would prefer not to deal with him at all. "How do you feel? We found you on the elephant ride, didn't we, Jamil?"
“It is, head,” he replied respectfully, still looking at you suspiciously. "However, I still insist on an inspection. Before you can stand a spy or even a hired killer."
He just waved again, turning to you again "You've already checked things, haven't you? There was nothing suspicious in them. In a bag there weren't anything at all!" The young man exclaimed too joyfully for your taste, but you were ready to write everything off to him if you managed to carry out your plan. "How do you feel? The court doctor said you won't be able to get up for another week!"
A week?.. You whistled mentally. This was what pure desperation and stubbornness do to people.
"Thank you for your concern, you saved my life," you bowed again. "However, I have a request."
"What impudence," interrupted you the young man whom you had christened the adviser. "Head Kalim, you've done more than enough so far-.."
"All right, Jamil. We can at least listen," Al-Asim called you even closer.
Taking the chance, you immediately knelt down, lowering your head for dramatic effect. "My friend was captured by the head of Octavinelle. To save him, I need to bring Azul Ashengrotto a flying carpet," lowering your head even lower, you added. "Please, my friend... he is all I have."
You continued to examine the patterns on the carpet, feeling the adviser's burning gaze on the back of your head. The prolonged silence began to get on your nerves, biting your lips, you figured out a plan of action in case of refusal. However, it was not needed, a sonorous voice soon dispelled your doubts.
"If so, of course, take it!"
Huh? Raising your head in surprise, you looked in confusion at Kalim. Jamil, on the contrary, could kill you with a gaze, but instead he turned to Al-Asim.
"Head Kalim, come to your senses. This is probably the machinations of Ashengrotto, how can you give a family heirloom to the first person you meet-.."
"We have a few carpets," the young man spread his hands, showing how many there were, "Besides, how is Azul doing?" he asked innocently as the brunette furrowed his brows.
"More than good," you replied evasively. "Thank you," one more bow. "I will not forget your kindness."
Like the head of Octavinelle, you thought and hoped that the agreed time had not yet expired.
*
*
* Returning to the room, you ran your hand over the soft pile of the much-desired carpet. Fortunately, as Kalim shared, you were unconscious for about a day. So, taking into account the current one, there was still a night and a few more hours until the afternoon of the third day. You did not want to take risks, but you did not want to cross the desert at night either. You were going to spend a sleepless night and take off with the first rays of dawn.
The carpet stirred and extended the tassels as if to say hello. In response, you replayed the events of such a short day. Only a blind man would not have noticed the dissatisfaction of the adviser, his look, with which he measured you in the end. Averting your gaze, you focused on Kalim and the path to the treasure room. Despite the striking splendor, you remember little. Eyes were looking for just one thing among the golden mountains.
In a couple of hours you were convinced of the sincerity of the young man. Involuntarily, Ace's words came to mind, which immediately cooled the temperature in the room. You prayed to every possible deity that he and Deuce would be okay. Ironically, you parted with all the new acquaintances on a sad note of uncertainty.
Hearing a rustle, you got up from the bed and quietly looked out the window through the carved shutters. There were guards roaming downstairs. You would have written off the usual changing of the guard, but something was wrong. Looking closer, you noticed that their eyes were clouded, and and their faces were blank.
Intuition sounded the alarm and, exchanging glances with the carpet, which immediately flew behind you, you headed for the door. Through the gap below, you could see the shadows moving along the corridor every now and then. Frowning, you pressed your ear to the door, trying to catch the slightest sound. However, your answer was dead silence. The bad premonition again began to remind of itself, and after waiting for the shadows to finally disappear, you gently turned the knob.
Lamps were lit in the corridors, but there was not a soul around. As if the world around suddenly ceased to exist. Nodding to the carpet, you slowly moved forward as a pair in search of a way out. Looks like your journey would start sooner.
Hiding behind the columns and in the shade of the curtains, you moved slowly. Taking a detour to the throne room, you exhaled, remembering the huge windows-passages. Flying out of there would be much easier than wandering further in search of an exit through the main door.
Looking around, you slowly approached and peered through the gap. Seeing what was happening inside, you immediately froze, covering your mouth with your hand. It wasn't in your to do list to make a sound. In the center now stood Jamil, dressed like a head, and next to the same clouded look Kalim.
From the pleased expression of the brunette standing next to him, you understood what was the reason. You wanted to curse everything in the world, including your own luck. By some absurd accident, you became part of the events, making trouble faster than the speed of light.
A crazy idea arised when you look down at the pendant shell. In any case, you had to pay Ashegrotto a visit again, so it didn't matter how. After walking a decent number of steps, you climbed onto the carpet, trying to figure out how to control it along the way.
"Do you know the way to Octavinelle?" You hoped it knew.
Leaning forward with force, you flew, picking up speed along the way. You held out your hands and swung open the door with a loud noise, drawing attention to yourself. The sudden appearance had a sobering effect, consciousness returned to those inside, but not for long. As you understand, it directly depended on Jamil himself.
Seeing you fly straight at him, the young man prepared himself, but the goal was different. At the last moment, changing your trajectory, you grabbed Kalim and swiftly flew out through the window, ignoring the self-proclaimed head.
The night air chilled cheeks, the passing clouds revealed the clear night sky. If it weren't for the severity of the situation, the speed of the carpet and Kalim gradually coming to his senses, the view could be called truly amazing. You had no idea which way you were flying, completely relying on your new soft friend.
As soon as the first green appeared in the distance, you exhaled. Be that as it might, very soon you would have arrived in Octavinelle. However, when the water began to clearly emerge ahead, and as the carpet began to decline sharply, you suddenly remembered something. How to slow down.
Almost screaming in annoyance, you rushed to Kalim, stretched the rope of the necklace and threw it around his neck. Shutting your eyes, you prepared to dive. The impact with the surface of the lake knocked all the oxygen out of lungs. Your cheeks burned as if someone had slapped you.
The carpet did not slow down, continuing to float in the water as well as through the air. You didn't foresee the next collision with the floor and several tables.
Breathing rapidly, you, grimacing in pain, met the eyes of the twins who emerged from around the corner.
"Oya-oya, I didn't think I'd meet you so soon," came Jade's calm, polite voice, contrasting with the mess inside.
Azul appeared on his face for a moment, a surprised expression, but then disappeared behind a businesslike smile.
“Carpet,” you said abruptly, taking a breath before each word. "I brought it, the time has not yet expired. I have fulfilled the conditions."
"Hm?.. Azul?" You glanced at Kalim, who looked around in confusion. "Long time no see! Why are we here? I remember exactly how Jamil came, and then.."
"I hope the noble head of Octavinelle has another necklace, otherwise we won't be able to discuss further conditions," you emphasized the last word.
Fortunately, Ashengrotto, quickly assessing the situation, immediately spread his hand, "Certainly! Kalim-san, I'm so glad to see you, welcome to Octavinelle. Unfortunately, we were completely unprepared for your visit." He turned to the eels. "Jade, Floyd, could you bring a tea with snacks?"
“Eh~ I didn’t think the otter would visit us so unexpectedly~” Dropped the second twin, revealing a row of sharp teeth. Kalim just happily waved after him. You envied his unshakable cheerfulness.
When Al-Asim got his shell and you finally separated, you stretched wearily, feeling every muscle in your body. Azul was already sitting cross-legged on one of the plush sofas.
"Well.. I'm quite surprised that you were able not only to return whole and unscathed, but also to complete everything on time." His gaze moved to the carpet, which immediately hid behind your back. 'I would gladly fulfill my obligations, but due to new details in the form of material damage, they need to be revised."
“Yes, yes,” you breathed. Honestly, you didn't expect Ashengrotto to keep his word. "Then let's go fifty-fifty." Give me Grimm, I'll find way back on my own. You're not going to reduce my bounty to zero, are you?"
"What are you saying! A fair attitude is the key to a successful business. I.. agree," the man added, reluctantly, hiding behind a smile.
"Azul, leave that carpet," Al-Aseem suddenly interrupted, drawing everyone's attention. "They became friends. When I get home, I'll give you another one."
"It's true, but," adjusting the glasses on the bridge of his nose, the merchant began to speak, while the carpet, in confirmation of the words of friendship, hugged you by the shoulders, hanging on your shoulders like a cape.
Without hiding your gratitude, you stroked his fluffy tassel.
"So it's decided! Do you mind if we all ride it together to Scarabia?" Kalim turned around. "And Azul will fly back on his own."
“Kalim-san, wait, deal with issues like this-.."
“Necessary, after discussing the current state of affairs in Scarabia,” you interrupted Azul and finished his sentence. "At the moment…"
Taking a sip of hot tea - at the bottom of the lake - you allowed Ashengrotto to digest what he heard and make a plan of action. You still didn't trust him, but in his ability to quickly adapt to the situation and take everything from it, he was unmatched. You could give him credit for that.
However, you didn't mention one thing. Going back to the desert palace was suicidal, at least in your case. You and Grimm planned to leave everyone behind and move on. You felt terrible doing this to Kalim, but you didn't have any supernatural powers to help him regain power. However, this did not apply to Azul.
You were ready to bet anything - as a resident of this world, he also wielded magic. Otherwise, he would not have become the head.
"How can I leave close neighbors to suffer from injustice," the merchant finally returned to the conversation. -"With the mercy inherent in Octavinelle, we will be happy to do everything in our power!"
You did not darken the brightened face of Al-Asim with your doubts about his sincerity.
*
*
* Crossing the sky again, but with a large number of passengers:Jade and Floyd, in company with Azul, got a pair of legs. You again scrolled through the plan. 'Arrive at the place, help if possible. If things would start to get out of hand, grab Grimm by the scruff of the neck and fly out the window.'
You didn't want to risk more than you had to.
The closer you flew to the palace, the harder it became to breathe. Involuntarily, the escape from Heartslabyul came to mind, the same sensations. The previously dark blue sky was gradually turning a bright crimson color - definitely not a good sign. A casual glance at Ashengrotto confirmed your suspicions.
The surroundings were empty, as if all the guests had gathered and waited inside. By choosing one of the balconies, you landed softly. The carpet, as if also feeling the oppressive atmosphere, continued to fly very close to you. Picking up a cat, you already knew where to go. Where everything began, everything was going to end - in the throne room.
As you followed the others, you involuntarily glanced at the tall twins. In this situation, their growth inspired a little calmness.
Almost slipping, you slowed down. Looking around the sole and the floor, you once again confirmed your own fears. Everywhere, here and there, flashed black caustic pools of ink. Pressing the cat tighter, you slipped behind the nearest column. The further you went, the stronger the chances of getting out melted.
Mentally throwing just one "sorry", you waited for the right moment and rushed into one of the nearest rooms. The carpet obediently followed. Locking the door, you immediately rushed to the window. Fortunately, the grate was not closed.
Opening the window wider and letting the night air into the room, you took a convulsive breath and with trembling fingers set Grimm on the carpet.
"Servant?" Grimm meowed, but didn't resist. Ever since the reunion, he was unusually quiet, just like you.
Joining the cat, you carefully led higher, hoping to slip away unnoticed. Guilt pierced through, but the scarlet sky and the ink that stained everything around proved to be a more impressive argument on the scales. You'd rather have another run in Savanaclaw than go through the horror of Heartslabyul again.
Unable to restrain yourself, you headed towards the main balcony. From afar, you saw how Jamil has changed beyond recognition. Like a huge monster with an inkwell instead of a head was destroying the furniture around.
Did this happen to Riddle too?
There was a sharp lack of air, breathing accelerated, and a lump appeared in the throat. A sharp wave of the former adviser's hand and a simultaneous blow from the monster shook the palace, flames rushed from everywhere. The carpet accelerated regardless of your desire, trying to escape from the fire, rapidly consuming everything around. Squeezing the edge of the fabric with your hands, you curled up into a ball, closing your eyes.
Warm fur very close did not let it completely fall apart, until the burning heat was replaced again by the night coolness.

RWBY: Grim Tales
The Crow
Ren brushed his fingers over the pictures of his wedding day. Everyone looked so happy. In the background, Sun and Neptune were trying to sneak off with the wedding cake, with Blake and Weiss trying to stop them. Yang had Sage atop her shoulders, while Ruby and Jaune were holding hands. Standing in the middle were he and Nora, dressed in a fancy Romulan suit and beautiful Mistrali gown. His heart ached on the day she died. The assassin, Tyrian Callows, was still at large. Ren trained for days on end, but it was no use. Somehow, Tyrian would always get the best of him, beating him within an inch of his life. Ren looked at the window and could see the rain pelting outside. He slowly walked over and placed his hand on the glass, closing his eyes and praying silently.
[Oniyuri]
A drunken couple walked along the path after a night of drinking, stumbling and tumbling over the dirt.
Sora: Maaaaaan... thish rooad ish sho wobbly!
Yukari: Ish like a snnnake *laughs and snorts*
A gravelly voice sent fear into the air and Sora and Yukari gripped each other tight. The sound of hooves scraping along the ground made them shiver. Suddenly, Yukari vanished.
Sora: Y-Yukari? Y-Yukari! Where are- *gasp*
Yukari whimpered as her neck was caught in the grip of a Grimm and no ordinary Grimm at that. It was in the shape of a horse, with the torso of a thin horned creature protruding from ifs back. It hissed and screeched, causing Sora to fall to the ground.
Yukari: Sora please help me! I don't wanna die.
Sora was too paralysed to move. All he could to was panic and watch as Yukari was about to die. Suddenly, the Grimm was knocked down from a frenzied flash of pink, freeing Yukari. Sora immidiately stumbled his way towards her and held her in his arms. The Grimm rose up from the ground and tried to strike at the couple, but found its arm caught by a stray hand. The couple gasped as someone was now standing between them and the Grimm. She had short, orange hair, was dressed in a black bomber jacket, wore black shorts and boots and had a white painted face, with black lips and black eye shadow. She looked at the Grimm and smiled sadistically as she broke its hand. The Grimm howled in pain. The stranger leaped towards beast and mounted onto the horse, grabbing it by the neck. She gripped tighter and tighter and, gritting her teeth in frustration and glee.
SNAP!!!
Within minutes, the Grimm fell to the ground and crumbled into ash. The stranger landed on her feet and walked the path, turning briefly to give a warm smile to the distraught couple. She looked up and saw that a crow was flying above her, seeking out her next target. It had been a year since she had died, but her thirst for vengeance was strong. Strong enough to bring her back to life to settle her score against the one who killed her; Tyrian Callows.
Nora: You'll be dead soon, Tyrian. *clenches fist* You just don't know it yet.

Thirst Trapped (M), 16k
by @facewithoutheart
Simon's not sure what’s more surprising about life post-Watford: that Basilton Grimm-Pitch is gay, that he’s a TakTik influencer, or that he’s grown a beard. But when Baz starts posting thirst traps, and Simon accidentally responds, the most surprising thing of all is that they become friends. Maybe even more than… Which is fine. Completely fine. No problem at all. So long as Baz never learns dragonfromshrek is Simon Salisbury.
had so much fun illustrating this scene from christina's showstopping text/social media fic. simon behaves so poorly but like. what else is he supposed to do!! look at him.... timelapse under the cut!
this was a commission! you can commission me too. learn more here.

What if?...There was no Mr.Fantastic
Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom first met as graduate students at Empire State University. There, Reed had discovered that Victor was building a device that would allow him to travel astrally, so that Victor could travel to the netherworld to find the spirit of his deceased mother. Reed was in Von Doom's room, studying his personal papers, when Victor entered in a rage.
"You'd better double-check some of these equations," Reed warned. "You're off a few decimals in some places, and that could mean…"
"Give me that!" Victor roared, and snatched the papers from Reed's hands. "Now get out! Did you hear me? Get out!!"
-
In the Earth-616 timeline, Victor's arrogance dominates his reactions. Victor proceeds with his experiment, with disastrous results, scarred by the resulting explosion, expelled from the college for his unnatural and unethical studies, and made an outcast by his arrogance, pride, and thirst for vengeance against the world. Victor became Doctor Doom, the greatest foe of The Fantastic Four, and threat to all the civilized world.
-
Victor reexamined the papers and considered Reed's words. In a series of events, known only to Victor Von Doom and his wife Valeria, Victor consulted Reed in a hesitant, less threatening manner, and the two soon decided to pool their efforts. Reed was correct; Victor's calculations were off, but they were easily corrected. With Reed Richards as his assistant, Victor commanded his experiment to begin – and his soul was cast into the Astral Plane.
However, a horrible discovery awaited him. Victor's mother, Cynthia Von Doom, was a witch in the ancient nation of Latveria, and she was slain before she could repent. Her spirit now suffered in the hellish realm of Mephisto, Lord of Evil. Agonized by the discovery, Victor's spirit returned to the material world.
But now, the machinery that had propelled Victor's Astral being through space had exploded. Reed Richards, one of the greatest prodigal geniuses of his Time, died. Victor Von Doom, equally brilliant but slightly more lucky, survived.
Victor was then expelled from the university, hated by his classmates for his involvement in Reed's accidental death. The young Latverian, his face lightly scarred in the explosion, pondered his future. He decided to become a force for good and dedicated himself to three tenants and goals to shape his future. One : he returned to his Latverian people and became their king, since he learned from his mother's cursed spirit that he was the rightful heir to the throne of Latveria. Two : he carried on the eternal fight for goodness and justice, in memory of and to honor Reed Richards. Three : he secretly vowed to one day free his mother's spirit from the clutches of Mephisto. Reed's death had taught Victor caution; he avoided rash action that would evoke Mephisto's wrath. Instead, he began to lay his plans…
-
Ben Grimm and Susan Storm grew closer in the wake of the tragedy that robbed them of their best friend. Ben Grimm joined the Air Force and became a test pilot.
No special rocket program was developed in Central City, California.
-
Then came the attack of the Mole Man against the world's nuclear power plants. Now, it was the armored hero named Victor, champion of Latveria, who led the fight against the Subterraneans. He triumphed, winning great fame in subsequent battles with a wide assortment of super-powefed villains – but then came the Skrull invasion, which proceeded unhindered without Reed's interference, and Earth became a conquered planet, a subject world in the Intergalactic Skrull Empire.
Heroes among humanity quickly appeared. Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), Iron Man (Tony Stark), Thor, and The Incredible Hulk (Bruce Banner) formed the nucleus of a resistance force known as The Defenders. The international super-organization S.H.I.E.L.D. was created to coordinate secret attacks against the Skrull occupiers. Sporadic fighting broke out across the globe as more heroes and villains filled the ranks of The Defenders and S.H.I.E.L.D., and as Victor's robot armies spread and prepared for the final battle with the Invaders.
At last, a messenger came to Earth from space. The Silver Surfer warned that The Eater of Worlds, Galactus, was coming. The Defenders convinced the Silver Surfer to join forces with them, and Spider-Man (a determined youth whose uncle was slain by a Skrull patrol) managed to get aboard the flagship of the Skrull fleet in the solar system. There, he got the attention of Galactus by causing the flagship's guns to fire on him, signaling the start of a revolution.
As world war raged between the Skulls and their human subjects, Galactus attacked and consumed the entire Skrull fleet. Earth's armies, The Defenders, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Victor's Doombots destroyed their Skrull overlords in a vicious 10-day conflict. Sated, Galactus left with his herald in search of other worlds to devour. With the death of the Skull's fleet came Spider-Man's death as well, and he and Professor Charles Xavier (slain by a Super-Skrull) became heroes for all time, immortalized in memory.
Assessments were made of the toll taken on humanity and it's allies. S.H.I.E.L.D. now wielded greater power than any one world government, and dominated the western hemisphere and reached into every national government. The Inhumans of Attilan and The Atlanteans were nearly wiped out, save for a few. The Defenders ranks were swollen with dozens and dozens of superhumans, as were the forces of S.H.I.E.L.D. Victor was the hero of Europe. New hero groups splintered off from The Defenders, and in the mid-70s, the Defenders split into branches like The Defenders East, based in New York City, and The Defenders West in Los Angeles.
Mutants, once regarded with suspicion, were finally welcomed into the ranks of humanity, since mutant heroes played such a crucial role in the insurrection of the conquest. The Skrulls' capture and killing of the handicapped Professor X, revealed after the rebellion to have been a major force within the Defenders and an Omega-Level mutant himself, garnered enormous sympathy for mutants everywhere. Government sponsored programs (called X-Academies) were established for educating and training mutants, and being a mutant became a symbol of being special and unique. Evil mutants still existed, of course, but they did little to tarnish the shining reputation earned during the overthrow of the Skrull oppressors.
The Acme Atomic Corporation layed off many of it's human workers – among them a technician named Owen Reese, who faded into obscurity thereafter. No Molecule Man appeared, there was no Beyonder appearance shortly after, and the events of the Secret Wars never occured.
The world, as it was, was at peace. But unknown to the world at large, Victor Von Doom still planned for the release of his mother from the domain of Mephisto. He built up his Doombot armies without limit or restraint, in preparation for the day when he conducted the rituals to free his mother's spirit, then led his tremendous armies on an invasion of the infernal realms of hell –to slay the lord of Evil! Sensing something was afoot with Victor, SHIELD, and the Defenders grew worried. What were all his Doombots for? Did the strains of the Skrull war drive him mad with paranoia?
