I may love Kyle, but I can totally admit when he acts like a total weirdo (he doesn't, he's perfect).
☄. *.
Alright, for starters, man takes up all the counter space with his stuff. Unlike Simon, he is very loyal to his brands and he has a longer face care routine than you do.
Just look at his perfect skin and tell me I'm wrong because you can't, that shit's flawless and he intends to keep it that way.
Every towel in the bathroom smells like him whether or not he's used it and you will never ever figure out why.
(It's because he probably used it-)
"Kyle, did you use my towel after your shower?"
"No, why?"
"Because it literally smells like your bodywash."
"How do I know you didn't just use my bodywash?"
Don't make this about me, Kyle Garrick. You know what you did, you're just lucky your shampoo is easy on the senses. He's the one task force member that seems to be able to differentiate between what smells good and what is altogether too much.
The type of guy to have long, gorgeous eyelashes and always, ALWAYS complain about them getting in his eyes.
Like suck it up pretty boy, you're literally living my dream here with those baby doll eyelashes of yours.
He also knows it pisses you off so he tries not to mention when it happens, so you'll just catch him sitting there on the couch blinking like a madman. Trying his darndest to get the annoying eyelash from his eye without drawing attention to it. Although really and truly this just makes it more noticeable and kinda funny to watch.
Applies Chapstick in that really weird way that guys do it where they make a duck face, except he's fully self aware, he just knows it weirds you out so he exaggerates it further.
"Babe what are you doing, that's not how you apply chapstick."
"What do you mean, there's no right way to do it." :0
SLEEPS WITH HIS SOCKS ON BECAUSE HIS FEET ARE ALWAYS FREEZING!!!
Like thank you for sparing me from those absolute ice blocks, but like babe, that is unnatural. It is cruel and unusual and I will not stand for it!!
(Socks stay on during sex-)
Also prolly wears long sleeves and pants to bed regardless of how warm it is because he swears its more comfortable. Bro going to bed fully dressed, all he needs are shoes smh.
On a similar note, his hands are always cold, but instead of putting them in his front pockets or his jacket pockets like a normal guy, he walks around with his hands in his back pockets given the chance.
Doesn't think it's weird, but he walks around leaned back in order to do it and it looks goofy as hell.
Willing to advocate for you and it's really sweet, except it'll be for every single little thing. Like not just ketchup that you ordered but didn't get, if you off-handedly mention that whatever you ordered is kinda cold, he is on it immediately.
"Hey, uh, my Partner here says their food is a little cold, is there any way we could fix that please?"
Like he's not rude about it, but you still want to die inside because it's not a big deal and he doesn't seem to get that you really weren't complaining or trying to get him to fix it.

Try Not to Die
Sigma x reader 🥀🌹
I got inspired by the idea of a reader who's really scary and stuff, but has a soft spot for their love. Border on being Yandere.
It's only hinted.
Tumblr media
Imagine...
Simga is loyal to you. He's your perfect little devotee. He can't place what it is about you, but your aura exudes control, demands respect, and he's willing to give you that and more.
Your relationship is unexpected. He adores you, and would do anything for you, but he doesn't understand why your with him. What do you see in him?
He questioned it once. And you showed him exactly how much you loved him, expressed exactly what you'd do for him, should he just ask.
He never asked you again.
That still didn't mean there weren't times where he doubted himself. He doubted himself a lot. He was in his office, doing just that, work had finished, late, he'd managed to get through it all, but the only reason there was so much because he made a little mistake the month prior. It was nothing truly detrimental, but still, he felt bad about it.
At least it was over with now.
The door to his office opened. He didn't lean up or explicitly look in your direction, but his eyes did follow you, watching you round his desk and stand beside him.
He leant back slightly to accommodate you as you sat in his lap, legs straddling both of his, his arms going to your waist, keeping you somewhat secure.
Your hands cupped his cheeks, making his tired eyes look up at you,
"Sigma..."
He knew what you wanted to say. You didn't have to tell him that he'd done too much. His eyes showed you his half hearted apology, so you merely sighed, shaking your head. You pecked his lips and hugged him, his chin resting on your chest, while yours rested on his head, a hand stroking gently at his hair.
"You need to take better care of yourself. Stop over working" you said.
He knew that.
"Especially now that the next part of the plan is in motion"
The next part- how did?... he pulled back From you slightly, leaning back so he could look up at you properly, you let him.
"Did you think I wouldn't realise? Who those 'friends' of yours are, what they're planning?"
No, he can't say he's surprised that you know. But he never did tell you, so he still finds it disconcerting. Who told you?
"He's going to have you killed, Sigma" your light tone was replaced with a slightly more serious one. He frowned.
"I know" he leant back on you, hiding from your stare.
He knows what you'd do for him, but he hopes you don't try anything. Any conflict between you and fyodor would be a disaster, and he's not even sure who for.
"Try not to die"
~~~~
He tried. He did. Even that boy - atsushi, an enemy tried to stop it, but alas he was falling. He was going to die.
Except.
Well, Nikolai saved him, using his ability, for his own special agenda of course. That was ovbious.
He wasn't expecting you to be stood beside the clown though, eyes hardened and shadow cast over your face. You were upset, angry. He's seen that expression only once before, and it terrified him. He doesn't know what to expect from you.
Nikolai had left, as per your asking. He would be back in about 10 minutes, he had his own plans afterall.
"I'd have hoped you'd try have tried harder to survive. But... well, I suppose it couldn't be helped. This is one of Fyodor's plans afterall" you said, crouching down beside where he sat, stroking his hair, running your fingers through the messed up locks, with a gentleness that contrasted your expression.
He looked up at you, worry in his eyes, and his tone slightly panicked
"How'd you known fy-"
"Shh" you quieted him with a finger to his lips.
"It doesn't matter now, your alive"
"Yeah...I am"
But the looming threat of danger still persisted.
But at least you'd be there for him.
Finally finished all of Voltron. Some thoughts:
The last seasons actually weren't as bad as I thought they'd be based on what I heard. I mean, yeah the Lance/Allura ship was unnecessary, and yeah the final episode wasn't super satisfying or good lmao, but all in all, the plot still kept me invested. Only time I felt truly bored was during those god awful filler episodes. Genuinely only liked one filler episode which was the carnival one where Shiro was arm wrestling people.
Wish Shiro had a heavier presence in the show after he got his conscience shifted into the clone body, but at the same time, it was cool to see him captain Atlas. I was so glad they at least included him in the final battle with Honerva.
Lance and Hunk definitely felt like they took more of a backseat in the character focus department. Like yeah, they had arcs of sorts though not super obvious ones imo. Lance was a big flirt who could be cocky, and he matured and became a reliable second hand. Hunk ended up showing more courage and willingness to bring people together, and he did have a passion for food, so I like that he had least had a hobby/passion of sorts. I just feel like I didn't really know them quite as well as the other paladins, Lance especially. I'm honestly very surprised Lance didn't get more focus as say Shiro or Keith. He seems like the type of character to have a bigger focus.
My main beef with Shiro is that he didn't really have any flaws over the course of the show. He was always the loyal and caring leader. Of course, we got to see him lose his patience with Slav which was really fun. Other than that... he was almost just like... too nice. Too perfect. The change for his character mostly happened through life events. I think if they had fleshed out that side of Shiro more, Shiro would've been my favorite character.
It wasn't until maybe Season 3 or so that I finally got over the fact that the paladins were flying lions around. I'm sorry but I thought flying lions were so lame when I first started watching it. These are supposed to be made by King Alfor, an Altean, so why did he choose an Earth animal as the design for Voltron? Like huh? Allura and Coran didn't even know what a cow was, how did they know what a lion was alkdjsa. Whatever, I got over it eventually. (Edit: I just remembered that the white lion is a thing that exists and that Alfor knew about it sooo I suppose he got inspo from that).
"Form Voltron!" and then the long ass sequence of all the lions forming together. I got so sick of seeing that every single episode. Voltron actually would've been cooler had the paladins only transformed into it like once or twice every season rather than every episode. Like only bring Voltron out for the biggest baddies. I found it so much more fun when the paladins all fought separately. And a lot of the time, the paladins had to end up dissolving Voltron to win a fight so like??
Black lion my beloathed, red lion my beloved. Nah idc, I have beef with the black lion. The red lion was by far my favorite lion, but I liked it more when Keith was with the red lion. Feels like they could've done more with the red lion as well with it being the fastest and all.
The Blade of Marmora was cooler than Voltron to me. All their fight sequences were sick. Also, Keith looked so good in that uniform, hello. I definitely enjoyed the hand-to-hand combat in this show possibly more than I enjoyed the lion fights.
Lotor/Allura was the only ship I enjoyed until Lotor went off the rails. Idc, Lotor was a fun character with an interesting backstory. It's too bad his character arc had to go the way that it did. Also not totally opposed to how it ended up though.
Matt gave me the ick as soon as he started fawning over Allura in an obnoxious way. Felt kinda ooc for him as well. But after that was over with, I enjoyed him well enough. That one episode where Pidge went to the memorial planet with all the graves... that was heavy as hell. Kinda wish Matt actually had died for the full weight of that episode to hit bc that was such an intense moment.
Loved how Pidge was shown to do basically anything to get cool video games in some episodes lmao. I also thought it was interesting how she was the most tech savvy of the team, but she formed a connection with the natural world, as did her lion.
The first 2 seasons were definitely funnier than the rest. The first season had me laughing at least once every episode. The jokes tapered off later on, which I suppose makes sense bc the plots got heavier.
Loved the Hunk and Shay relationship. Balmerans were pretty cool in general.
Tbh, I didn't really care that Shiro's boyfriend died because we only saw him in a short flashback. I do think they should've given Shiro a longer or better reaction to finding out that his boyfriend died though. Also, speaking of Shiro and men, it was so fruity how the last scene of the entire show was Shiro kissing his husband. Voltron said gay rights for space dads.
Kosmo was cool, and I especially liked how he was Nightwing color coded. Plus teleportation powers?? Nice.
Keith and Shiro's bond was really touching. I just wish they would've divulged their shared backstory together earlier on in the series to help me understand why Keith had so much respect and loyalty to Shiro from the jump. That goes for a lot of the paladins, actually. A lot of their backstory info should've been released earlier on in the series instead of shoved into the last few seasons. The only ones who didn't suffer from this were Pidge and Allura.
Some seasons were only 6-7 episodes which was wack.
Keith definitely had some good moments giving advice to Lance or Hunk. He had a pretty satisfying arc overall. Well, out of all the other characters anyway. He's gotta be my favorite character in the show. He had flaws that he worked through, and he came out as a strong leader. I also can't forget how he and the Blade of Marmora planted bombs to destroy the Galras in line to rule the Galra empire, but when Keith realized Shiro was with the Galras, he immediately raced back to deactivate the bombs. We love a loyal man who will do anything for his brother.
Shiro took on a lot of damage and trauma that just wasn't addressed in any satisfying way, especially in regard to his arm. He did make one sarcastic remark to Lance about how he wasn't in tip top shape because he got his arm cut off/his conscience moved into a clone body. Wish they would've touched on the loss of his arm more. And not just his human arm, but his other arms as well.
Allura's death was just like... I don't remember what she said to Keith before she decided to give up her life, but all I could think about was when she was cold to him because he was half Galra.
I thought it was so funny in the last episode when they showed all the realities in every universe and there were just like... 50 of them or something lmao. Like Honerva really didn't have to do much to end them all. They really did rush the ending, huh?
Even though I haven't watched the original series this was based off of, I enjoyed the small references I did catch like with Sven and such.
All in all, I had a fun time. Will I rewatch it any time soon? No... but I will definitely be reading fanfics of it going forward.
just thinking about the love in my heart i have for rhysand.
i know that rhys is seen as a controversial character to some. and i agree that he has made some questionable choices. but people conveniently forget the amount of pressure he has on his shoulders, the amount of lives that he has to consider in every decision he makes. rhys gave up his life for his people; he endured trauma every day for 50 years for his people. he was willing to give up his happiness, his mate, so that she could have her happiness. i do not care what people say; rhys is a good person, maybe one of the best.
rhys is the person who believed in feyre from the beginning, even before he knew she was his mate. people criticize him for what he did under the mountain. the first thing to remember is this is not reality—this is a fantasy world where there are different, higher stakes. if rhys did not do a lot of what he did, feyre would have died. and not only feyre, but many others would have remained under amarantha's rule for years and years to come. rhys had to tread carefully, but he saved feyre's soul, he kept it from breaking, with all the little things he did. sending her music, keeping her from starving, believing in her and betting on her, and then at the end, risking his life to save her. and he did it all knowing she didn't love him and believing that she never would. he walked away from his mate because he truly wanted her to be happy. that is the purest way you can show love to someone; wanting them to be happy just because, and wanting nothing in return.
i also cannot believe people criticize rhys for taking feyre to the night court after she began to suffer in the spring court with tamlin. this is the man who saw she wasn't eating, that she was wasting away in her despair and guilt, and he actually did something about it. he gave her a purpose. he saw what she needed because he knows her and helped her become the person that she truly is. and he never did it because he expected anything. i mean, in any scene where feyre shows him any affection in ACOMAF, you can see how truly wonderstruck he is by her, how he feels her slipping through his fingers at all times, how he doesn't want to let himself hope.
the last thing i want to say is that i do not fully blame rhys for not telling feyre that she was his mate (i'm not going to engage with the pregnancy storyline from ACOSF because that felt like poor writing and out of character to me). to me, it makes perfect sense why rhys would not tell feyre. while i understand feyre's perspective in wanting to have all of the information at her disposal, i understand rhys wanting feyre to feel free to live her life without obligation to anyone. i also believe that he wanted her to feel as though he would help her and be with her through anything because he wanted to, not out of obligation. i do not think that rhys was necessarily being overprotective or trying to shelter feyre by not telling her. in fact, i think the opposite; i think he wanted her to live and not feel beholden to anyone. i think he wanted her to feel free to be whoever she wanted to be.
anyway, i just wanted to say that i love rhys. there's no one like him - he is the standard and he deserves every beautiful lovely thing the world could offer, my self-sacrificing, kind-hearted, brave, gorgeous, loyal high lord.
Meta on Bellatrix's loyalty
I was thinking about how Bellatrix's loyalty and demeanor towards Voldemort are so in contrast with the rest of the Death Eaters and it's such an interesting dynamic group-wise. Death Eaters are essentially a Slytherin group and we can clearly see their members displaying Slytherin qualities, especially in denying their loyalty towards Voldemort after he wasn't the biggest bully on the playground anymore as Sirius had put it, to save themselves from Azkaban.
While Voldemort repeatedly praises those Death Eaters who remained loyal to him, he doesn't really show any difference in treatment (or at least we as the readers don't see it) besides breaking them out of Azkaban and talking about how they will be "honoured beyond their dreams". The thing is though, his actions speak otherwise.
Riddle is a Slytherin first and foremost and in the end, he seems to appreciate what others can offer him more than acts of loyalty for loyalty's sake. I think Snape's taunting of Bellatrix in HBP where he referred to her Azkaban stay as s "gesture (was) undoubtly fine" and commented how she couldn't offer much else but memories of Azkaban and how Voldemort came to appreciate Snape remaining close to Dumbledore, is very on point with how Voldemort might think. In the same way, Lucius' wealth and status are convenient to him and he even puts him in charge of the Department of Mysteries operation. Overall, not only we don't see the Death Eaters who got away after the first war punished, but we also don't see them treated much differently than the loyal ones besides a few reprimanding words in GoF. I imagine this would cause tension and resentment within the group but in the end everyone will bow down to Voldemort anyway.
Bellatrix, however, stands out even among those loyal Death Eaters. I don't think it's because she's necessarily that much more loyal than others who also didn't denounce Voldemort at their trials but because of her demeanor. In all her interactions with Voldemort there's just so much feeling, she leans closer when talking to him, blushes and sheds tears of joy when he praises her and is overall incredibly passionate about him and his cause. She would die for him and considers it an honor to be able to offer a son into his services even if it means the son would die. And while I do believe Voldemort cares for her in his own way and appreciates her qualities, he also doesn't even remotely match her devotion. It's obviously not meant to be an equal relationship in any way, but the way he doesn't hesitate to publicly humiliate her in DH with Tonks and Lupin's wedding and lets the other Death Eaters laugh at her, makes it seem almost as if he doesn't really value her that much compared to for example Snape, who he treats with much more respect. (He does save her in the Department of Mysteries, but she's the only Death eater in the near vicinity he can conveniently grab and disappear without having to go through Dumbledore.)
I've always found it interesting how misplaced, mocked and misunderstood Bellatrix's sentiment, feeling and loyalty are among the Death Eaters. We do see other Death Eaters worshipping Voldemort of course, but Bellatrix seems to be only one to do so out of genuine affection. I think canon supports the fact that Voldemort approaches feelings on a very cognitive level and is able to then use that knowledge to manipulate others but deep down he doesn't seem to truly get it. I think he understands and relates himself to Snape much more than he ever does with Bellatrix and thus respects him more. Of course, in the end he finds out he didn't really get him either.
My point is that while Bellatrix on paper is a perfect Death Eater, she's actually a bit of an outlier in the group with a few very non-Slytherin-like qualities that clash with how transactionally Voldemort approaches relationships.
(and don't get me started on the parallels between her and Sirius)
Tbh, I have an AU where Mori is a bit normal (still a mafia boss tho) but loves Dazai as his son, he might say mean words to Dazai, but he still loves him.
He treats him the same as cannon but a lot calmer. Of course, it's not perfect. He thinks that being harsh on Dazai will help Dazai grow. Will help him improve and be like him more/be his right hand man.
And maybe a fascination still on Elise because of his character? But just a little. I really like his character, even if he's a "pedophile". He just makes me question everything about him and I love it. I of course don't support pedophilia, but that just makes him interesting for me. What happened to him?
I'm not really fond of very wholesome things that don't have a downside. Mori is still the same, but a bit watered down and loves Dazai. Dazai thinking that the relationship is healthy (slightly is) and staying by his side because he's a loyal son.
Both in their delusion of a happy father and son.
Or maybe they had a fallout.. Dazai regaining clarity but still stayed but left when Oda was killed. Mori lamented on this for weeks but had to stay strong.
He still asks Dazai to join playfully, but he is truly desperate to have his son by his side again. The only one he truly cared about other than Fukuzawa that also left him.
Now this little child that he raised with all his love just left him... He didn't know why...
Showing his madness in my opinion.
I just like to think, what if Mori loved Dazai like a son? It just makes my heart happy...
Toga Himiko; Crush vs Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure, anon. Sorry for late answer. Here's the Izuocha version in here.
Signs Of Crushes and Infatuation
1- Feelings Come on Fast
Tumblr media
Infatuation hits with an out of this world intensity. You saw them and you knew you had to have them. Love at first sight, so to speak. The feelings didn't grow and develop over time, which is what happens with love, they were almost instantaneous.
This doesnt fit Toga's feelings for Tomura since they had bad start and their relationship starts developing slowly after spending time together.
2- Short Lived
Tumblr media
Crushes come and go pretty quickly, usually in a matter of months. Love stays, whether the relationship works or not, the feelings are always there to some degree.
Ever since they met, Toga's feelings for Shigaraki or league didnt suddenly go away, unlike her feelings for Izuku and Ochaco. It stayed because that was true love. Not short lived crush.
3- Sees Perfection
Tumblr media
With crushes and infatuation it is more about the idea of the person, than the person themselves. Maybe you think you would look great together as a couple, or one or both of you have a certain status in the community or a high income. The mind creates and envisions the perfect life together, and the happily ever after with Prince Charming.
Toga doesnt see Shigaraki as prince charming. Actually, she constantly observes his behavours, his happiness, his flaws, everything.
4- Crazy Or Irrational Behavior
Tumblr media
Crushes can lead to stalking, intense jealously, and obsessive behavior. Sometimes the intense feelings of crushes can also cause risky behavior, and irrational thinking.
Ironically, Toga's relationship with Shigaraki makes her more stable, healing her from her usual unstable condition.
5- Based On Attraction
Tumblr media
Crushes are often based strictly on physical attributes since you really don't know the "real" person, and there is nothing else to go on except what you created in your head. The infatuation begins because you find them beautiful or hot, and strongly desire the person. Usually the crush is someone whom is out of reach for you.
Once again, what makes Dabi, Toga, Spinner get into Shigaraki is that he is there. Stain is ideal. Toga's interest for Izuku and Ochaco is ideal, far away but Shigaraki is real. And that how they get over their ideolism for Stain and start developing admiration for Shigaraki. Someone who actually knows them and someone whom they know.
Signs Of Love
1- Feelings Last
Tumblr media
With love, feelings may not last forever, but they do last a while, whether you stay in a relationship or not. Love does not go away after a couple of months, or because you realize they are flawed or look a hot mess in the morning.
Once again, Toga's feelings for league always there.
2- Accepts Them, Flaws And All
Tumblr media
When we truly love someone, we see their flaws, and we accept them. Maybe he's a little short, or she's a little chubby, but if you are in love you don't care.
Shigaraki is first person who accepts her and thats very important for Toga, she accepts his darkest sides too despite not really agreeing with.
3- Open and Honest
Tumblr media
Love is willing to go deep. Love is open and honest. Love wants to share their hope, dreams, and fears, and hear about yours.
Most important part about love is you feel comfort by their side. I think its safe to say thats how Toga feels around legaue, but especially around Shigaraki.
4- Only Eyes For Them
Tumblr media
Love only has eyes for you. If the eyes wander, then you are not in love. Love isn't blind to other's beauty, but love's eyes follow their heart
This doesnt really happen with them. Toga is in very unstable condition and she is not really loyal to anyone but if she is to someone, the person she is loyal towards the most is definitely Shigaraki.
5- Their Happiness Is Important
Tumblr media
We are willing to sacrifice for those we love and put their wants and needs before our own. Love is willing to be inconvenienced, bored, and patient for the one who means the most.
God knows how many times Toga repeatedly focus on Shigaraki's happiness, it was the first for a girl like her who only lived for herself since running away from home but she is the first person she started to care about his feelings after everything.
6- Their Presence/Or Voice Brings You Comfort
Tumblr media
Seeing their face, or hearing their voice can turn your whole day around, and instantly improve your mood. That’s a true telltale of being in love.
Shigaraki knows how to make Toga happy. We saw several panels of how much Shigaraki makes Toga happy, compared to other characters.
Basiclaly, Toga's feelings for Shigaraki isnt crush, its true love. (I only focus on her part because her feelings for Shigaraki is one sided for now at least so we dont know.) What Toga felt about Stain, Izuku and Ochaco and others is a feelings of crush. And of course, what Toga felt about league members is also true love. But i think its a little more there with Shigaraki. More details in this and other shigatoga/toga posts. Also, recently, Ochaco became her hero so well, we will see how it will change the story.
(((Hello! Let me drop a concept here that's been circling around my head since a certain part during some parts in the archon quest)))
--------
You were a mere mortal in the grand scheme of things, a speck of dust in the ever grand plan of the beings higher than you. So who were you to question when along with your dendro vision, you were granted the ability to read your fate lines.
They were all sorts of rather quirky, sometimes even funny strings that tie you and a person of interest. One of them had you read that "■■■ will owe you more mora than what you can manage." And lo and behold, one freaky accident that nearly cost you an arm had him pay you an extravagant amount for the troubles he cost (living in luxury had been quite jarring from your humble day to day life). Another rather interesting tid bit had you reeling back at the information from "Your knowledge of the Geo Archon's true fate shall not deter him from his actions." Honestly you were ready to scoff at such bewildering sentence but the gentleman with amber eyes and an knowing smile made you realize that he knew that you knew.
And just like what your fate string says, he will do nothing about it as your knowledge does little to stop his plan.
Sometimes, you have very dangerous premonitions towards others that leave you turning back and never interacting with the other party again. Sometimes, despite your knowledge, things end up inevitably.
Like for example, the strapping young ginger diplomat from Snezhnaya in front of you, grinning and offering to pay you for your services.
"Your heart will be devoured by this beast"
What the hell does that even mean!?
Childe, as you have come to know him, is a rather funny man. He's charismatic, goofy, charming, but you know inherently he is very very dangerous. The way he moves, how he scans his surroundings, his smile...
He is certainly a beast in disguise.
So when he cornered you one night, you were prepared for the worst.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?"
"... Huh?"
A few days of your date night ended in somehow you falling deeply for the man.
He's not just a dangerous Fatui Harbinger, he's a caring older brother, amazing loyal son, protective and passionate boyfriend.
"Hey, uhh, I want you to meet someone..."
And apparently, a literal beast also resides in him.
The big moth-like monster (called Foul Legacy) was just, if not more, affectionate as his human counterpart. If Childe (or Ajax as you have now known him more) was like a playful fox, Foul Legacy is one giant cuddly dog.
You realize that you don't mind such a big revelation that your boyfriend has a huggable beast in him. In fact, you didn't realize how much you cared when you find him injured after the fight with the Traveler.
"I will yell at you about what you nearly did later but right now I want to yell at you for doing this to yourself!"
As you fret over the apologetically cute moth resting on your lap, your eyes settled onto your dendro vision. A string only you could see connected itself onto the giant moth.
"Your heart will be devoured by this beast"
Oh.
"Oh..." a realization hit you as you carefully pat his head.
Truly your heart, your love, was devoured by this beast.
--------
(((Hhrhehjdjs so uhh if you like the fluffy ending as it is please skip this last bit shdjsjsi it's an alternative ending for the angst lovers)))
--------
"Well, would you look at that?" The Doctor's rather amused and cruel voice echoed in your ringing ears. Your nearly blank eyes stared below at where a hole is present in your chest.
Beside him stood Foul Legacy and a glowing green contraption that seemed to have been controlling the beast.
"Elchigen may have been a worthless subject but his contribution had been no less fascinating. This, Wisdom Orb, seemed to be perfect at creating an army for Abyssal creatures." With a cruel laugh, he turned away as your eyes draw upon your glowing green and slowly blanking vision.
The string connected to him read:
"He is a catalyst that will twist your beloved fate"
Your mind grows heavy as you hear a cracking in the distance and a grieving screech that you were rather familiar with. You felt bloodied claws grasp at you desperately as Childe, Ajax, Foul Legacy, you don't know honestly, cries at your dying form.
The string that connects you to him glows as your fate once again echoes in your mind before all fades to black.
"Your heart will be devoured by this beast"
anon please forgive me for hoarding this for a bit but i had to because it's SO GOOD!!!!!!!
at the realization of your fate you're quick to pull Foul Legacy towards your home, ignoring the pouring rain and sounds of battle coming from the ocean and the Jade Chamber. you're both drenched once you reach your humble house, the door swinging shut and locking with a click as you wring water out of your shirt and drag Foul Legacy over to the couch, sitting him down with an order of "wait here". when you return with a pile of towels he's hunched over, knees brought to his chest and refusing to meet your gaze
he looks so ashamed, and your heart softens, walking over and beginning to gently dry his fluffy hair and fur with a towel. gradually Foul Legacy relaxes at the soothing movement, leaning his head against your hands with a rumbling sigh, and in a moment of inspiration you trail your fingers down his cheek and under his chin and begin gently scritching the area. Foul Legacy croons, wings shivering in delight as he cranes his neck upwards and eventually slumps into your arms, pulling you down into the soft couch. he tries valiantly to dry your hair as well, sharp talons holding the towels so delicately, and you both succumb to sleep as the never-ending rain drones against your window, Foul Legacy's claws brushing protectively over the Vision that houses your hopes and dreams
------- (angst version below heheoohohoeohoo)
Foul Legacy has no choice but to run, leaving your body and taking only your Vision as the Dottore cackles in the distance. his mind is filled with horrible images of ripping your heart out, the pulse of that cursed device echoing as you slump to the ground with eyes empty and cold because it's his fault, his fault, his fault. in the dark he mourns for you, alone, for where would a beast such as himself go without the one he loves? Ajax died that day, and even when he transforms back into his human form he simply sits in silence, eyes shining but only with tears
on particularly cold nights he cries, clutching your Vision to his chest and sobbing with grief as he sees and remembers the blood on his claws- your blood. your Vision, previously the vibrant green of Dendro, remains cold and gray, and sometimes he finds himself begging, wishing for it to shine once more and light a path for him, a path back to you and your comforting arms and stern lectures whenever he got injured. but it's impossible, because he watched the light fade from your eyes, your despairing pain as you died, because it's his fault
also your brain is wrinklier than the balls of a sweaty red neck florida man. you're so fucking based.
honestly i like to make light of the fact that rook was acquainted with vil via criticizing his play upfront, and the fact that they even became inseparable after, but i really think it says a lot about them. especially vil, in this case. about how vil values the cold and hard truth above all that is sugarcoated and brought to him via beating around the bush in a world where everyone is sucking up to him to get something out of it. like, what did rook have to gain in the moment? if anything, he would've been mauled by anyone else. but he did it out of genuine interest, in vil and helping him (even if his critique lacked tact in the delivery). that's what drew vil to rook. he was so unabashed in what he thought about a certain things flaws, but also so full of vigor and readiness to see it for all it's potential. he's exactly the type of person vil needs.
unwavering loyalty (the type that vil truly values) can also be seen through rook's election of neige in the vdc. i really do hate that it's portrayed as a betrayal. yes, i understand it would be to anyone else, especially given rook knows of vil's rivalry with neige. but obviously, rook and vil aren't conventional people. rook already stated very valid reasons for it; it wouldn't satisfy vil's ambition nor his need for the first place and perfection. it'd be hollow to him. most of all, vil would know he didn't deserve it because the performance itself wasn't the best he could give. why would he want an unjustified trophy? he would've continued striving for no. 1 in extremely damaging ways if rook did not choose neige and give him the reality check he needed. that's the type of reality check he wanted. that's what true friends do. holding each other to standards, encouraging improvement-- doing what's right, because it will do right by them in association. rook choosing vil in this context would be the truest betrayal to vil because rook knows it would go against all vil stands for. it would be the biggest betrayal to rook's wanting to help vil improve and blossom because it wouldn't do that. it'd drive him further into madness. rook pulled vil back before he could do that and that's real loyalty. making hard decisions for the betterment of your loved ones. i don't really remember much of chapter 5's ending, but i do remember vil also acknowledged all my prior points himself, and did realise the winning the VDC wouldn't have been the best for him in the long run.
i absolutely hate blind devotion. i hold my friends to moral codes because being too entrenched in unhealthy mindsets would leave you blindsided to what's truly beautiful and joyous in life and people, and i dont want to be the one to enable or exacerbate it. i expect them to do the same with me; tell me off, disagree with me, and give me a reality check when i need it, because i know ill appreciate it when that time has long gone and their wake up call was what got me back on the right track. that they cared about me enough that they wanted to help me change for better instead of just standing to the sidelines because to be loved is to be CHANGED.... (wails uncontrollably into pillow, shits, sharts, etc etc). my greatest goal in life is to be the best version of myself and to be loyal is to support what the truest part of me yearns for! improvement! that's why i expect that if i were to act up, my friends would have the courage in knowing that opposing whatever dumb idea i might have would ultimately mean the most to me! so when i say i get how vil must've felt during chapter 5 i really get it. sure he still would've been upset over his loss but i believe he understood the reality of the situation quite well, including rooks reasoning. he trusts rook because he knows rook can make the right call for him if need be, even if it results in such drastic consequences. he knows rook has his actual best interests in mind. he knows rook isn't one to lick vil's boots-- he'd bow before him and rise against him, all in vil's favour. that's why he was more determined than ever to get on the right track to strive towards complete perfection. he was upset but he knew it was transient and he'll have another chance at true success.
people also have to understand that brutally honest =/= cruel. brutally honest is just a term used by people who just want an excuse to be mean but he doesn't intend to be, so i can see how that term, when conflated with a character, can be warped to a different interpretation. yes, good intentions don't always equal good actions but he always means it for the betterment of others. you don't like his tone? tell him! he'll adjust the level of tact in which he delivers his speech but the content is more or less the same.
again, vil is also another one who drops a lot of subtle hints of vulnerability. of large deviations of who he is and how he operates.
god i am.. sgshn???!?!!!!!!! so desperately in love with him....!??? he's so deeply flawed but that doesn't make him a bad person. it makes him so real and raw and just. someone i could really sympathize with in real life, especially when i can relate to, or atleast understand many of his core themes and struggles. he's more complex than the other boys in the cast (not to say the others cannot have complexity) and it makes it all the better to pick him apart. yes i see god in your eyes babes please kiss me so hard my lips explode.
“He’d bow before him and rise against him, all in Vil’s favor” HOLY SHIT ANON THAT IS ?,, THE HARDEST LINE IVE EVER READ??? But I completely agree! Vil was less upset about the justified loss than he was about Neige winning ! He understood Rook’s reasoning and didn’t question it, but ofc he was irritated that his (one sided) mortal nemesis beat him. I agree that Vil is so insanely complex- that’s why he’s my favorite character to pick apart, and also why I feel the strongest connection to him. Tbh he’s one of the only characters I could see myself realistically befriending. His honesty and determination are super admirable imo, and we share some core values.
Also,,, I’m currently brainstorming ways for him to show his vulnerabilities, funnily enough hehe hoo
Can I request “being TGP Michael’s soulmate would Include”? Tysm! :)
being Michael Realman soulmate would include
Tumblr media
Masterlist | Rules | Taglist | Library | More Michael | AO3
synopsis: At The Good Place, the real truly Good Place, Michael thought that his life was finally perfect. When he meet you he realized that it couldn't be perfect because he didn't knew you yet.
warnings: a important theme on the last season is how there is not a soulmate, but just someone that you choose to love. i like to do those soulmate!au and will not stay totally loyal to the canon if that its not funny to me. if it was about a human i could totally make a "you are soulmates because of Michael's evil torture plan", like i did to Eleanor, but not to a immortal character because it wouldnt make sense to me.
ps: I love writing for that fandom! Thanks for your request dear reader, hope you like it!
Tumblr media
• Michael spend his whole life, what means way more than the average, resolving problems. The afterlife is boring to demons? Okay, he found a solution. Wait. Those humans seens to always reazlize they are in The Bad Place? Calm down, calm down, he got a solution. Humans can actually evolve into greater beings? Michael know what to do. The Good Place is actually The Boring Place? You know who will solve it, just give him some time
• And then... no more problems. At least not big ones. It was just what he expect from paradise. A place where he could finally breath in. He could finally live, instead of just trying to survive. Michael thought he had everyhing he wanted
• The gentle bell announced a new resident.
• Your life was... You were kind to others. You did horrible things. You were truthful. You lied. You loved with your body and soul. You hated with all your heart. You experienced so much fun. Your life was so boring. Your legacy was warm and gentle. Your legacy was cold and rough. After all you lived, you were just like the very next person: someone that wronged and did hurtful things, but someone who also did the right thing and was lovely towards others. You were constantly trying, and that was enough
• After some time, you passed to The Good Place. You were someone who deserved to be there. In the first week you didn't even sleep. It wasn't great: it was amazing! A candy had the asnwer to what Twin Peaks really was. Magic doors took you to whatever place you wanted. Julius Cesar was such a nice guy. Princess Diana was so kind, as everyone expect. Robin Williams was brilliant. You met your great-grandfather! And his great-grandfather! And then you heard about the group that made everything possible, those people that saved the entire human population from a eternity of suffering
• When you discovered that Chidi Anagonye had a reading group, you knew that it was your chance. He was such a sweet guy, so gentle and caring. Eleanor Shellstrop helped you with your journey through philosophy. Didn't take much for you two to became friends
• Eleanor invited you to a party organized by Tahani Al-Jamil. She looked like what every celebrity want to be. Someone who would win a Tony, a Oscar, a Bafta, a Grammy and a Nobel in the same year. There you met Jason. Jacksonville! His heart was something you couldn't understand. Jason was so smart, but in a emotional way that opened your eyes. And the humanity of his lovely wife intrigued you. Janet was... perfect. In a way that no human or robot could ever be. She was simply perfect
• You wanted to met Michael, the demon that made everything possible. You had learn that 'demon' was a bad term, it was just difficult to stop using. It looks like he was doing something with Judge Gen. Although you don't really get who she is, it appeared important
• The group finished reading Anna Karênina. On paradise, an eight hundred pages book is something that everyone had the time to read. You tried it once when you were alive, but you didn't make it to the first hundred pages. Now, you did it in one week
• Chidi guided the discussion about the mishaps and turmoil of those two families. Someone, probably Freud, talked about how the very last scene of Anna and the birth of Kitty's child was a Tolstoy's attempt of punishing the female leads that wronged someone during the book. Jane Austen wouldn't stop talking about how Vronsky was a dipshit lover if Tolstoy didn't agree with her
• When it was your turn to give your opinion, you didn't even heard the door opening. Your view of how the motifs, mainly the candle, and how it repeats itself in different ways for Ana and Vronsky were your focous. For him it was a bad memory, for her it was her destiny. Submerged in your line of reasoning, you only notice him because of Chidi's voice
"Want to be part of the conversation?" Chidi asked when you finished your sentence. "I saw you reading it once, would you like to contribute?"
You turned your head to the place Chidi was looking at. The gray-haired man in a matching suit, shrugged his shoulders with a excited little smile on his face. "Do you have space for me here?"
"We always have, Mikey-boy", Eleanor tapped the sit next to her. "My new friend was talking about the candle motif, what do you think about it?"
"The candle motif, we all seen it", Michael turned his body in Eleanor's direction and followed her gaze to the new resident. And when he locked eyes with you, Michael wasn't able to talk anymore. Either were you.
Michael felt a storm inside him. His heart was jumping on his chest. His lungs didn't work anymore. His voice was nothing but a weak memory. His muscles turned into soft jellys.
You burned. Your eyes didn't work anymore, almost like some kind of smoke appeared in front of them. Your toes were shaking but you didn't even notice. You dropped the book on the floor, but the sound was muted.
While Michael eyes shine on emerald, yours turned into a lilac light.
"I am sorry", meanwhile looking at you, Michael were talking to everyone else on the room. He walked your way and grab your hand. You stand up, unable to do anything but to stay with him. "But that stupid book can wait."
You followed Michael, using one of the magic doors to get to a better place. You didn't droop his hand, you only hold it harder.
"God think my book is stupid?" Tolstoy asked when the door closed, tears glowing on his eyes. "What did I do wrong?"
"For the last time," said Marilyn Monroe. "He is not a god."
• Michael wouldn't care if the world end up right now. Either would you.
I Know im kicking a dead horse at this point, but i still think camelot singularity had the blandest mordred i have ever seen. She was a main servant in london, which is supposed to be a quite important position. they could've easily replace her with another knight, arthuriana have dozens of knights, nasu could peak any of them and i wouldnt complain.
The main problem isnt exactly that she was there, rather how they used her character (i would have prefered if she wasnt there and was on the opposite side with kay and gaheris). Camelot had some hits and misses in handeling kotr, like agravain's wasnt perfect but it was a good enough Introduction that even now a lot of people still want him to be playable. But it didnt really add anything to mordred. They probebly wanted to get a sad reaction from the player but there were so many things going on that they didnt really focus on her enough to be Impactful.
Sorry I took so long handling this.
I get this, Mordred wasn't really expanded on like Lancelot, Tristian, Gawain, Agravain and Bedivere were. She really is the blandest of the knights in Camelot.
But...thing is- the knights that sided with The Lion King were chosen because they reflect Bedivere's sense of duty and failure with Arturia. Gawain and Lancelot are obvious; Tristan didn't hate Arturia and feels guilty about what he said...even though what he said was needed; Agravain feels he failed his king the first time around and Gareth wanted to stand by Arturia at the end.
They are also flawed characters succumbing to their flaws- Gawain's strict adherence to the ideals of knighthood reach their peak here as he plays the part of a loyal knight even as he tramples on what his king truly cared about. Lancelot's overwhelming guilt is making him betray Arturia again despite knowing her flaws. Tristan's inability to forgive himself made him lose everything. And Gareth's own inability to move on caused so much pain. This contrasts with Bedivere, who is overcoming his flaw to fulfill his duty despite how he feels.
With all this in mind- It makes perfect sense that Mordred sides with the Lion King. She's succumbing to her idolization of Arturia and (ironically) her guilt over Camalann. She feels she failed her duty as a knight and failed her father in her rebellion so now she's rejecting who she is once again to play a part she isn't meant to. Remember, Mordred was known as 'taciturn' or 'silent' when she was a member of the Round Table, despite the fact that we KNOW she isn't actually like that. Instead of further establishing who she is like she did with Kairi, she regressed back to the role of the 'loyal knight'. Even though Mordred's rebellion is NEEDED in the Sixith Singularity because King Arthur lost her humanity in full. She forgot what she was fighting for in the first place.
I know this sounds off but to summarize-
Mordred was likely chosen because she fits with the theme of the other allied knights- succumbing to guilt and in turn, forgetting just who Arturia really was.
I mean, speaking of Agravain- There's good reason why the knight who only ever saw Arturia's 'kingly' mask is the Lion King's loyal advisor and the knight who saw her true motivations is her fiercest foe.
Thank you for your previous reply. Use machine translation. I also think Doumeki has a lot of respect and appreciation for what Sakura has given him.But it is worth mentioning,Yakuza is not a way of life that gives Doumeki Real Peace of mind. Yashiro's abandonment of Doumeki was cruel,But in a way he does know how much Doumeki has to endure to stay in Yakuza.
In fact, Doumeki can be very decisive in combat,also can be cold to the enemy.But every time this happened four years ago, Yashiro seemed worried, not happy.
Others may think Doumeki is perfect for the yakuza.All the yakuza will find Doumeki useful, but Yashiro can't just keep Doumeki around because he's“Useful.” Doumeki can actually protect some people in Yakuza, get some recognition,But that is not enough to make him truly“Loyal” to an organisation. And by that I mean inner loyalty.Doumeki, of course, is devoted to Sakura at work and takes care of Sakura's interests and feelings. This is his gratitude.
His reason for staying in the sinful world was his connection to Yashiro, even though he could no longer develop a romantic relationship with him.The reason for this loyalty is not just love. In fact, Doumeki of Ch. 51 accepts Yashiro's anger, even though he doesn't think Yashiro loves him.I think Doumeki felt that Yashiro was angry because he was disappointed.Doumeki knows Yashiro doesn't have a tattoo,He also knew that Yashiro wanted him to leave yakuza. Yashiro did not say love directly, because Y himself did not understand love well enough.But he has said many times that Doumeki should leave the yakuza. Yashiro took it upon himself to decide that Doumeki should leave yakuza,But that's one of the reasons Doumeki fell in love with him.That is why Doumeki is spiritually loyal to Yashiro. I agree with you that Doumeki didn't know that Yashiro loved him,He suffered because he saw Yashiro's self-destruction, but I don't think he ever doubted Yashiro's inner beauty.Doumeki also suffered because Yashiro made that beauty full of pain. So Doumeki kissed him, even though he thought Yashiro was disappointed in him. In volume 8 of Saezuru,an extra story,About Doumeki dreaming that he's getting very small.What he thinks is, big or small, I can't live without you. Doumeki's loyalty is very implicit and absolute. Just like Yashiro kept his love. They value each other so much, they both think they shouldn't touch each other.Even if they want to touch each other -- Doumeki can't stop kissing Yashiro, who can't stop going crazy for Doumeki. I agree with you that they need to confess their feelings, but in the author's past style, I think it would be a more Japanese, more implicit confession. In fact, the author seldom uses explicit“love” to express love directly.Even the original Japanese text of Doumeki's confession is not “love”.You know he's already the most honest one. Of course I want them to say love, but maybe one morning after they get together.
Thank you for reaching back out to me! While I do mention Doumeki’s loyalty to the sakura group, I want to make it clear that I do think Doumeki’s devotion is to Yashiro. Where I think Doumeki’s conflict will come in is potentially leaving a place where he feels comfortable in and made a life for himself without Yashiro to being vulnerable and at risk of devastating heartbreak with Yashiro. It would be similar to the decisions that Yashiro faced in the first arc. I also agree that it is unlikely we will see them explicitly say the words “I love you” but I do hope to see them both express some vulnerability. I am not 100% what that would look like though.
Figured I'd make a post addressing some of the critiques in this video since about half of them rubbed me the wrong way. If I don't address something, I either agreed or felt it was worthwhile. Ok, onto my major criticisms. 2:26 | "The message of fighting for love rather than blood fills hollow as it pertains to Vaggie" I see this as audience bias. We're led to believe that this is Carmilla and Vaggie's first meeting. This means that Carmilla probably only knows 3 things max about Vaggie. 1) she was an exorcist 2) she's Charlie's girlfriend and 3) needs weapons to defeat the exorcists. Carmilla only knows exorcists to be bloodthirsty so it tracks for her to assume that about Vaggie too. She doesn't know Vaggie like we do after all. That said, I agree it doesn't fit Vaggie.
Up next, his Alastor critiques. To preface, Alastor is one of my favs and it physically pains me to see ppl completely misunderstand him time and time again. So if I sound harsher here, that's why. SC's main criticism is "Alastor bounces between a clearly antagonistic force to a loyal hotel member that believes in Charlie".
5:50 | "just as often as the show tries to make him sketchy, it gives him moments that show he cares about the hotel" No examples are stated outright so I'm led to assume the clips used are meant to be examples of Alastor flip flopping. However the context of the clips disprove that claim. 6:43 Alastor helped Charlie get an army to protect the hotel through Rosie. Alastor agreed to do this because it was part of the *blatantly sketchy deal* he made with Charlie beforehand. 6:49 I don't see how Alastor getting rid of egg boys via Vaggie's request says anything about anything. He was going to leave to attend the overlord meeting anyway so it wasn't an inconvenient. Plus Viv did say that Alastor has a lighter view on women so this is character consistency if anything. (On that note it's nice to see character info from Viv's livestreams actually depicted in the show)
7:14 | "the writers love Alastor too much to make him do truly heinous acts" What are you smoking and where can I get some? Jokes aside, Alastor is a know serial killer and cannibal, both of which I put on full display at least once. Heck why even point out? I could just mention the Husk scene. We see Alastor abuse Husk in 4K. He threatened physical abuse, and while he didn't go through with it at that very moment, it's still verbal abuse which shouldn't be looked over when talking about Alastor's evil actions. This scene alone caused an uproar among Alastor fans when the episode dropped. It comes off as a bad faith criticism to not include it let alone mention it.
7: 52 | "all of Alastor's cool is a loan that only works it they can pay it off later. like i love the dude but if we keep hinting at things and not delivering we're gonna have to put him on fraud watch". This is one of the few instances where the pacing slows down to properly build up to something. This should be complimented not criticized. Yeah if Alastor's overhyped then we can say this build up didn't pay off. Feels like we're putting the cart from the horse here.
10:39 | "Vox's running commentary is hilarious until it isn't"
Vox is perfect and all criticism against him is invalid. Seeing his rolled up sleeves made me feels things. Next!
10: 50 | "what they're saying doesn't track outside of Alastor being missing and he immediately shows up right after" Same critique as the first, audience bias. We see Alastor come back to the hotel, THEY don't. They see Alastor flee fight after nearly dying, then move away from the monitors to celebrate. Other than that I agree, the alleged power vacuum was poorly executed.
Aaaand that's about it really. Let leave things oof on something we can all agree on.
17:40 | "I can chalk up a lot of this season's mistakes with needing more time to write the season"
Leave Me in the Gloom
Part 1
Characters: Marcy Spector, Jack Barnes, Natalie Rogers (mentioned)
Tumblr media
A few days ago...
After the last several days had drained them both, it was nice to get some much-needed rest. A shower was always the perfect solution for them. It helped with recovering from their physical and mental exhaustion.
Showering was never anything sexual, more of a way for them to stay connected. It was a fun way to relieve stress after grueling band rehearsals and songwriting sessions. They could talk about what was going on in their lives as they helped wash each other. Now that they were members of The Avengers, they would often hold each other under the water. That night was no exception, especially since Jack was finally home from the hospital.
Jack's dad was out with Sam Wilson, so it was just him and Marcy at the house. Neither had said a word after hopping into the shower. As the water fell over them, they embraced each other in silence like they always did.
Both of them knew Jack could've died on their last mission. If it wasn't the shot to his chest, it could've been the fall he took that would've ended him. It could have gone much worse for him, but thankfully he was rushed to the hospital. Not only that, but Natalie came to his aid beforehand and used her magic to ensure he was taken care of. She was there to help him get through the pain and made it a great relief to know he was going to pull through.
The events were still fresh in Marcy's mind, especially the way Natalie took care of Jack. She knew there was never a need to worry about the pair's closeness. Jack was a loyal and honest guy who'd tell her if something was going on. But even if nothing ever happened between him and Natalie, the last few days made Marcy think that maybe something should.
Natalie's reactions to seeing him in his terrible state made Marcy more aware of her feelings. And then she came by the hospital to say she was going away for a while. Marcy was sad to hear that since, despite all this, she really did see Natalie as a good friend.
Then came the night Jack was recovering in the hospital and his thoughts on the matter became clear when he groggily asked for Natalie rather than Marcy. Coupling that with how forlorn he got upon hearing Natalie left was enough to tell her everything she needed to know. He might not know it himself, but she did. She knew she didn't want to stand in the way of whatever they can have together.
It's what got her to finally say something when they stepped out of the shower and were in bed together. He had her tucked against him, an arm wrapped around her as she lay against his chest. She breathed him in for what was probably the last time before picking her head up to speak...
Tumblr media
Marcy insisted on leaving on her own. He didn't want her to, given the time, but it was probably for the best. Jack was completely discombobulated about everything, now more than ever as he lay on his bed reflecting on everything. He had no idea what was happening.
Since the last mission, his head couldn't get back on track. It affected his ability to function properly, and he wondered if she had noticed his recent behavior and if it was why she broke up with him. No, she wasn't like that. She wouldn't dump him for something like that. If anything, she'd make him feel valued and encourage him to be his best self like she always does.
Apparently, he wasn't being his best self with her. She told him it was time for him to go after what he truly wants. What was that supposed to mean?
And Nat? She just leaves out of nowhere? According to Daisy, she went to visit the rest of the family. He shouldn't have been all that concerned about her leaving if that was the case, but it was such a surprise. She didn't even bother to say goodbye.
Why did she have to go? Why didn't she say anything?
He needed to pull himself together and, like Marcy said, focus on what was important to him. He should avoid getting carried away by any distractions. Well, Nat wasn't a distraction. She was his best friend and was always there for him when he needed her. Just their last mission alone was proof of what a source of support and companionship she was.
He couldn't stop thinking about the way she saved him. How she offered him that sweet, consoling smile that tried its hardest to reassure him everything was going to be okay. He would be grateful to her for the rest of his life.
That's just the kind of person she was, selfless. Beautiful, inside and out. He still couldn't believe that douchebag Dave cheated on such a wonderful girl like her. He never felt like he was good for her anyway. Nat deserved someone who was creative and could take care of her the same way she takes care of everyone else.
She needed someone who could make her laugh, especially if they can make her do that cute snort she does when she laughs too hard. They should be able to motivate her and encourage her to keep going when she doubts herself. He wished she didn't do that so often because she was more perfect than she realized.
Jack suddenly sat up as he thought about all this.
"Holy shit..."
He figured out what he wanted.
THINGS  TO  KNOW
you barely remember anything before the age of five. most of your life is a blur anyways, but the earlier years are the hardest to recall. one thing you do remember, though, like a bright white spot in a sea of gray, is the day she disappeared. your dear sister.
you were just two, so it's not like you knew what was happening at the time, but you remember your parents wailing, holding and clinging to each other at the same time. you cried, too, paralyzed by the chaos of it all, but they were too occupied with their grief to care for you; an omen of what was to come when you were older. they spared no expense in trying to find midori, but days turns into weeks, and weeks turned into months. it got to a point where it didn't make sense anymore to keep looking. that's when they turned to you. their second-born, next in line.
it started out as simple things; extra time with tutors, more etiquette lessons. but as you got into your teenage years, your father started taking you to the dojo to train. you learned all forms of martial arts, from the meditative movements of tai chi, to the arresting holds of judo, to the bone-breaking strikes of karate. you were fourteen, sparring with warriors twice your size. at first, you were beaten to a pulp, curling up in a fetal position as they rained hell upon you, wondering why the hell you had to do this. but eventually, you started holding your own — nine-against-one, and you'd come out on top, knuckles bruised and bloody, not a scratch on you. you were a warrior.
that's what your father wanted you to be, so you became one. there wasn't even a question around it. you were going to be emperor one day. so you did what he asked, and you didn't ask questions in return. you learned what it meant to rule, what it meant to have no fear, what it meant to truly be ruthless. you fought in battle — they called you the ghost of the front lines. you stood beside your father as he made move after strategic move trying to fend off japan's enemies. you made suggestons, now and then, but only when asked.
you were a perfect heir. a blank canvas. and in turn, you completely abandoned yourself — you became a shell of a person, pliable as clay, ready and willing to be moulded.
it was your twenty-ninth birthday when the scales were tipped. you awoke to a cacophony outside, and you were naive enough to believe that maybe, just maybe, your family was planning some kind of celebration for you, OF you. but after you dragged yourself out of bed and made your way to the throne room — there she was, in all her found glory. midori.
nobody remembered your birthday. not that day, and not ever since.
you've been thrown to the wayside. you're convinced you could be swap all of the family portraits for versions without you there, and nobody would notice. hell, you've even thought about having those commissioned and actually following through with it, just to see how long it takes for your family to realize you're gone. maybe then they'd care for you. it worked for your sister — why wouldn't it work for you?
you don't even know who you are, now. you spent thirty years in overdrive, training day in and out, becoming the fiercest of warriors and the most ruthless of future rulers. you were going to deliver your nation the glory it so deserved. but she stole that from right under your nose, that fucking thief.
all you know how to do is fight. so that's what you do nowadays. for the last three years, you've disappeared into the night, prowling the industrial edges of the city. it's a well-known secret in japan, the underground fighting circuit. when you entered that ring for the first time, it made you laugh, the fact that they asked for your name. not a single person recognized you as the fucking prince. an echo of a person in all parts of your life.
but there, in that ring, where nobody knew you, where you could be powerful again — the lack of renown, but this time without the shame — you could become someone else. so when they asked you for a name, you gave them a moniker instead: THE GHOST.
you're undefeated. two-hundred-seven to zero.
HEADCANONS
yuichi's name means "first born son," which is both true, and also incredibly ironic !
he's sort of living a double life as a street fighter back at home; he goes out almost every night to an underground fighting ring. he doesn't even do it for the money — he just wants to feel powerful again now that his heir status has been stripped from him.
he's an insanely good fighter, particularly in judo and karate. anyone who challenges him will probably end up flat on the mat within seconds.
because he's away from home, he's particularly irritable and pent-up, because not only is he deprived of his one form of "release," he's also constantly surrounded by reminders that he's no longer the heir to the throne. so, expect him to be VERY pissy. apologies in advance !
WANTED CONNECTIONS
sparring partner(s): yuichi spends most of his time training while he's in france, not wanting his fighting skills to dull while he's away from home. most of the time he trains alone using punching bags and things of the sort, but i think it would b dope if somebody surprised him by actually keeping up with him. bonus points if they start to meet regularly and eventually become friends.
ex- and current lovers: yuichi didn't have a ton of time for real relationships while he was an heir, but within the last three years, he's probably gotten around plenty. he's very self-destructive and power-hungry, so messy, sexy situations where he refuses to be vulnerable are very welcome !
a lil love moment: listen. the heart of yuichi's inner turmoil has to do with the fact that he feels worthless. and i think it would just b incredibly sweet if somebody was able to show him that he's his own person and is valuable apart from his family. idk !
others: literally anything you could possibly think of!
