*COMES BURSTING THROUGH THE DOOR*
ALPHA PROMPT 10 ALPHA HUX OMEGA KYLO!!!!
please dearest Lottie? 🥺🥺🥺💕💕💕
10. “You get off on the fact that I would kill for you. Don’t you?” Alpha Hux/Omega Kylo
When Hux arrives back at their chambers, Kylo is meditating. The sight of his beautiful mate is a welcome one after sitting in a meeting for hours, and Hux can’t help but let the stress in his shoulders melt away with a sigh as he hangs up his greatcoat and removes his heavy belt, feeling lighter in more manners than one. All the way through his meeting with the officers engaged in tomorrow’s mission to the moon of Hennet, he daydreamed of Kylo—his handsome face, his toned torso, those plump lips—and now that Kylo is in front of him, the daydream wasn’t enough.
The omega is sat with his legs crossed on the luxurious, ice-blue couch whilst a set of four training spheres float in the air around him, perfectly controlled by his immense power in the Force. They’re stable until Hux enters, and they falter slightly, wiggling as Kylo’s mind obviously becomes distracted by the scent and sound of his alpha entering their rooms.
Kylo keeps his eyes closed, though he takes a large intake of breath before signing, “How was the mission debrief?”
“Agonisingly pointless,” Hux says, rubbing his lower back. “Colonel Viol lectured us for far too long on the planet’s terrain and how it will impact the mission. Long story short? It won’t. And yet he went on and on for hours. Ridiculous.”
“You’re angry,” Kylo says, finally opening his eyes. He unfolds his hands and allows the four training spheres to fall into his palms before setting them back into their velvet-lined box. “And it’s not about the mission. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Hux says, shrugging off his outer jacket, leaving him in a sleeveless undershirt, jodhpurs and boots. He toys with his gloves but finds himself pulling them tighter instead of taking them off.
“Hux? What happened?” Kylo rises from the sofa, head cocked slightly.
The omega approaches his mate slowly, obviously feeling Hux’s concoction of emotions through the Force and through their bond.
Hux sighs, shrugging. “I may have had to rough up an alpha or two after the meeting was finished.”
“What?”
“I lingered at the end of the meeting to avoid more of Colonel Viol’s geographical chitchat. Everyone else had left the conference room except Colonel Jakis and Lieutenant Sera, who must have thought that they were alone. They began speaking about you.”
“I’m guessing they weren’t saying nice things.”
“No.” Hux places his palms on Kylo’s cheeks and brings the omega in for a kiss, chaste and quick. “They weren’t. They were talking about how they have never seen an omega as pretty as you, how they’d like to ruin you with their two knots at once, how they’d gag you and use you. They soon stopped speaking when I took the Colonel by his neck and held him to the wall.”
Hux can see a flash of fear in Kylo’s eyes; being an omega, he’s been subject to that kind of talk for years and it never gets any easier to hear. At least with time, his size and strength has meant that he’s able to deal with such ministrations in creative ways but when he can’t, Hux will.
“I held my vibroblade to his cheek,” Hux growls. “I told him that I would gut him and eject him in pieces out of the airlock if I ever heard him speaking like that about my omega ever again. I may have sliced his face a little bit just to reinforce my point. Lieutnant Sera may have tried to initiate a scuffle and he fell onto my blade. What a shame. Both of them are currently in medbay with their wounds and their proverbial tails between their legs. I’ll have them demoted. No one talks of my omega like that. No one.”
Hux brushes his hands through Kylo’s hair, studying him. Even now, knowing that the other alphas have been subdued, he has no doubt in his mind that there are others who have perverted thoughts about his omega. He’ll fight all of them if he must.
“But you’re alright?” Kylo asks, leaning into the alpha’s touch.
“Of course,” Hux says, sliding his hands down Kylo’s body to hold his waist. “I would have killed them but I dread to think of the mess that would have made.”
To Hux’s surprise, Kylo moans. A soft but low sound is emitted from his throat before he swallows hard, cheeks turning redder. His lips part, tongue darting out to dampen them. Hux can smell the omega’s sudden arousal in the air, potent and ready, and he slides his hand down from Kylo’s waist to palm at the front of his pants, finding him hard.
“You get off on the fact that I would kill for you. Don’t you, Kylo?”
Kylo grunts, bucking forward against Hux’s palm. “Y-yes.”
“Did you like hearing about how I would have slaughtered those alphas to protect you?”
“I…”
“You like that I’d do it to show everyone how worthy you are of it all. You like that you’re mine.” Hux closes the gap between them, leaving one hand on Kylo’s straining cock whilst he uses the other to take hold of the omega’s neck, leaning in to bite and kiss at the claim mark that sits proudly upon Kylo’s pale skin.
“Ah! Hux!”
The alpha guides his pliant mate back onto the couch, pushing him to lie down so that Hux is able to take his rightful place in between Kylo’s spread legs.
“And I would, Ren,” Hux says softly, grabbing Kylo’s wrists and pinning them above his head. “I’d kill for you. I’d kill every alpha in the galaxy for you until there was no one left but me. Your alpha. Because you’re worth everything to me, Ren. And I wouldn’t stop at killing the alphas. I’d kill stars for you, Ren.”
Kylo smiles, “You have.”
“And I’d do it again. My omega. I’d do anything for you.”
“Alpha,” Kylo sighs.
Hux barely gets inside of Kylo before his knot pops; admittedly, he was already half-hard himself from threatening those two alphas. In the end, his galaxy begins and ends with Ren.

Pranks
Prompt: Can you do a uswnt x teen reader, where reader gets hurt when someone pulls a prank on her or something like that?
Sonny pulls Y/N in to the aftermath of a prank and it doesn't go as planned.
Tumblr media
You were heading back to your room from a meeting with coach. You had been told that you were going to be starting in tomorrow's game. You were so excited that you didn’t notice Sonnett running down the hallway.
“Y/N watch out!” She calls out right before she runs into you. You wobble a little but she steadies you before you hit the ground. “Sorry! Got to run.” She is about to take off again down the hallway. “Actually, I could use you.” Sonny grabs your hand and drags you down the hallway behind her.
“Why are we running? What did you do?” You ask her.
“There is no reason for the running. I didn't do anything. Why would you even ask that?” Sonny responds.
“Sonny, get back here!” You hear Kelley yell from down the hallway.
“Did you prank Kelley?”
“Maybe?”
“Becky told you that you aren’t allowed to drag me into your prank wars. And I think that this constitutes dragging me.”
“I may be dragging you, but this is not a prank war so not breaking Beckys rules.”
You turn a corner and are all of a sudden heading down a set of stairs. Sonnett’s grip around your wrist made it impossible to get out of it without hurting yourself.
“Can you let me go please. I was on my way to get ready for dinner. I am already running late.”
“You're fine, we can just go to dinner right now.” You are keeping up with Sonny until the final bit on the first floor. You trip over one of the stairs and let out a yelp as you fall down the final few stairs. You fall into Sonny and you both tumble to the ground in a heap.
“Sonny! Y/N!” Kelley calls from the flight of stairs above you. This draws the attention of some of the other girls who are waiting in the meal room which is next door to the staircase.
In a second they were at the bottom of the stairs as Sonnett peels herself off the floor.
“Oh God, Y/N! Are you ok?” You let out a groan clutching your wrist to your chest.
“Sonnett what did you do?” Becky all but yells.
“I- I didn’t…”
Ali came running in with the team doctor.
“Y/N can you sit up for me?” The medic asked. She helped you into a sitting position leaning up against the wall. She took your hand into her own and started poking it in different spots.
The rest of the girls turned back to Sonnett and Kelley knowing that you were in good hands. They were berating them as the medic made her assessment.
You let out a cry and tears start streaming down your face as she continues her assessment. “I think it's broken. We need to get you to the hospital for x-rays and casting.”
“A- am I still going to be able to start tomorrow?” You ask through your tears. All of your teammates went silent waiting for the answer.
The medic sighed, “It’s not the end of the world, you will have another opportunity to start. You are only 16.”
“Y/N I’m so sorry.” You shake your head and let the medic help you to your feet. Her and Ali help you out of the hotel to head to the hospital.
“You’re the one who is going to tell coach why Y/N can’t start tomorrow. And the part you played in it.” Becky told her.
Sonnett nodded tears in her own eyes, “I hope you think pulling her into the prank was worth it.” Kelley said, walking past her leaving Sonny alone as the team made their way back to the meal room to wait on news of Y/N wrist.

Are you sure they like each other? (Alyssa Naeher x Reader)
Barely edited and I don't know if I happy with this, but I wanted to put something out. I hope you enjoy :)
Summary: Alyssa and reader are together, but very stoic and not affectionate in public. Think the team know they're together, apparently not. Start to question if they even like each other. Alyssa and reader turn into soft, love sick people when alone.
Warnings: Tiny bit suggestive, some swearing
Words: 3.3K
Alyssa had slipped out, taking our bags up to the room while I was surrounded by some of the team. I had offered to help, but she had insisted I stay to catch up, leaving before I could protest. Neither of us would be considered extroverts, though I was the one who liked to talk a bit more. Kristie pulled me into a tight hug before a few of the girls following suit, "How was your break Y/n?"
"It was pretty good. Alyssa and I just took it easy. Spent some time fixing up some of the stuff around the house I haven't had the time to do. Visited family, that sort of thing."
Confusion covered their faces, Kelley being the first one to speak up, "Wait. You spent the break with Alyssa?"
Now it was my turn to be confused. Alyssa and I had been together for almost 5 years, living together for 3. It wasn't something that had been hidden. Our relationship wasn't public knowledge, but friends and family knew we were together, or so I thought anyway. We weren't an affectionate couple in public or even with our friends, barely ever touching past an occasional hand on the back, a short hug after a game or if we were going to be apart. Occasionally, we would hold hands at home with family or I would lay with my head in her lap during movie night. I loved Alyssa more than words would describe, there was no doubt in my mind she felt the same. Public affection just made us both very uncomfortable.
"Why wouldn't I? We live together."
"Wait what? You and Alyssa live together?"
"You didn't know? We weren't hiding it. You know we're together right?"
Kelley looked as if I had grown a second head, "You and Alyssa are dating? No we didn't know that! What the hell Y/n?"
Alyssa's hand touched my lower back, letting me know she was there before dropping back to her side. "What's happening here? Why is there yelling?"
"Apparently they're just finding out we live together and have been together for the last almost 5 years."
"5 years?!? And you didn't tell us?"
Even Alyssa looked confused at this point, "What do you mean didn't tell you? It was never hidden. We assumed you knew."
Accusatory glares were sent our way while Alyssa and I just stood there confused. This was not how I expected my morning to go. "You've never kissed, held hands, cuddled or done anything remotely couple like. How were we supposed to know?"
"We've held hands a few times and I sleep against her on the bus sometimes. I get her coffee and breakfast every morning, Alyssa gets me flowers every week even at camp. Pretty sure we've mentioned our anniversary before. We say 'I love you' to each other all the time. Did none of you find that weird?"
"You're always sitting next to each other on the bus so no and we just figured you were close friends or something. I think there's been one time that you've gotten flowers from her in front of us."
"I've seen that a few times actually, but its always when she seems to have a bad day," Tierna spoke up.
Alyssa shrugged, "Well yeah, I get them every week, but if she's having a bad day then I'll get them on that day to cheer her up. Look, we just don't like PDA, we weren't hiding anything from you. We really thought you knew about us. And before you even ask, no we're not going to prove it. Now we're going to our room."
As soon as we entered our room, I flopped down on the bed, scooting over slightly when Alyssa lay down next to me. I pushed myself into her arms, leaving kisses on her jaw, her hand slipping under my shirt to draw random patterns. "You unpacked my stuff."
Alyssa held me closer, kissing my forehead. People held the impression that Alyssa disliked physical touch, which she did with most people. In reality, Alyssa loved cuddling with me, she loved holding my hand and kissing me. Just touching in general actually. When we first started dating, it was a welcome surprise. I expected some affection, but not as much as I received. There was definitely no complaints from me, I loved cuddling with my partners. "I always do, don't I?"
"You do and I appreciate it, but you don-"
She cut me off with a quick peck before speaking up not giving me the chance, "My love, how many times have you said I don't have to, yet I do it anyway?"
"Pretty much every camp," I mumbled against her neck, knowing what her response was going to be. It was always the same.
"Exactly. I do it because I love you and I want to make your day a little bit easier so how about you just accept it and let me do it."
It wasn't that I didn't like it, in fact I loved that she did it. I just always felt slightly bad when people did things for me. "Fine. I still can't believe they didn't know about us. I really thought they did."
"So did I. Maybe they just don't listen to us at all. It was all kind of entertaining though."
"It was, I can't believe they were so clueless. I have a feeling Emily is going to be annoying though. She had her mischief face on."
Alyssa's hand traveled further up my side as she rolled on top of me, "Unfortunately, I think you're right, but right now there are other things I would rather do than talk about Emily."
---
Just as I sat down for breakfast, Emily and Kelley slid onto the chairs in front of me. They just stared at me until I snapped, asking what they wanted. This was not what I needed early in the morning especially when I had only been awake for like half an hour. Alyssa was always down for breakfast after me, preferring to take her time to get ready and do her puzzles, while I just wanted coffee.
"So you and Alyssa are together right?"
"Uh yeah, why?"
"Just checking. How long have you been together?"
"Almost 5 years."
"How did you meet?"
I looked at between Emily and Kelley, trying to figure out why I was being interrogated once again, about my relationship. At this point, I was pretty sure the team believed we were lying or something. "You know this already."
"We forgot."
Alyssa approached, giving me a quick smile which I returned, "Perfect timing. I'm being interrogated about our relationship again."
"Why?"
I shrugged, pushing Alyssa's breakfast in front of her receiving a quite thank you. I didn't answer Kelley's question, instead deciding to eat breakfast before it got cold. "Are you two being forced to be together?"
Both of our heads shot up at that. It was such a ridiculous question. There would be no logical reason for us to be pretending to be together especially considering we weren't public knowledge. I bit back my laugh before answering, "What? What makes you think that? Why would that be a thing?"
Emily shrugged, "You just don't seem to like each other like that."
"Go away Kelley," Alyssa mumbled before going back to her breakfast. I ignored her again, getting up for Alyssa's coffee instead. When I returned, Kelley and Emily were still there, giving Alyssa a suspicious look. I handed Alyssa the cup before sitting down again.
"Thank you love."
Emily narrowed her eyes at us, "Suspicious."
Alyssa rolled her eyes while I flipped Emily off. This whole thing was starting to get old. "Go eat your breakfast."
Later that day, we were back in our room, enjoying the time we had before practice. Alyssa was reading, while I lay in the sun on the balcony. I started to want cuddles. I wouldn't say I was clingy because it was true. We could spend hours doing completely different things. Sometimes though, I just craved touching or being held by her. I gave her a few minutes before calling out to her, knowing she would come to me without hesitation.
Alyssa groaned, but got up, slipped off her shirt and sat down behind me with my head in her lap. We met in the middle, lips connecting briefly before I wiggled around to get into a better position. Alyssa eyebrows raised, amusement shining in her eyes, "Comfortable?"
I smirked, lacing my fingers with hers that rest on my stomach, "Very. Do you like me Lyssa? Is someone forcing you to date me?"
"Not even a little bit. Don't you know I'm only with you for your body?"
"That's what I thought. Maybe I should confess that I'm only with you for your abs."
She smirked at my response, "I had my suspicions. You're obsessed."
"Not my fault they're great abs."
Fingers ran through my hair as Alyssa leant down to kiss my forehead, "You know I love you right Y/n/n? I don't want you to ever doubt that because I don't show you affection in public."
"You know how I feel about PDA, I don't like it, I never have. I have never once doubted your love for me Alyssa and I hope you haven't doubted mine. I love you."
"Good. I have never doubted your love either."
---
Anger and worry coursed through me when I saw Alyssa go down. It was always my worst fear during games, but it didn't really happen during practice. I know we got competitive, there was no reason for it to happen during practice though. I ran up, kneeling beside her, hand grabbing hers, "Are you okay Lys?"
"This ones going to hurt," Alyssa winced, but quickly grabbed my arm when I turned to Rose who had taken her out. "Hey, it's not her fault, it was an accident. Go see if she's okay and be nice."
I took a breath to calm myself down before walking up to Rose. Rose started fidgeting nervously as I walked up to her, "Hey, are you okay Rose?"
"Y-yeah. S-sorry"
I hugged her, feeling her relax against me. Hugs weren't necessarily my favourite thing except when it was with Alyssa, but I knew Rose liked them and I didn't want her to feel bad. It wasn't actually her fault. "Rosie, it was an accident. Don't beat yourself up because of it, but maybe don't make a habit of taking out out keeper during practice, we kinda need her."
---
"You guys coming to dinner?"
"Uh yeah, just going to drop our stuff off."
Once we were in our room, Alyssa sat on the edge of the bed as I knelt behind her, arms wrapping around her shoulders loosely. She lent back against me with a sigh, kissing my hand. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Think my shoulder might bruise, but I'm okay hun. Don't worry so much."
I lift her shirt over her head, lips meeting the spot that was already starting to bruise then moving around to her neck, cheek and lips, "You know I can't help worrying about you, even if it's a bit ridiculous."
Alyssa turned around, pushing me back and hovering over me, "Well, I'm the same so I can't really say anything. I love you Y/n/n."
I looped my arm around the back of her neck, pulling her down so I could peck her lips, "I love you Lys, but you need to get off cause we need to go down for dinner."
She rolled off me with one final kiss before standing up, "Fine."
"Shirt."
---
My eyes fluttered open to the feeling of lips being pressed to every part of my face and neck. I giggled, arms wrapping around her neck to bring her lips to mine. You wouldn't guess it, but Alyssa always kissed me softly, as if I was something precious. It honestly drove me crazy.
Alyssa pulled away slowly, grin plastered across her face, "Happy anniversary love."
My grin matched her, as I pecked her lips, "Happy anniversary Lys. I love you."
We spent a little longer in bed than usual, lazy kisses and cuddles shared before reluctantly dragging our selves out of bed and into the shower. Unfortunately, we had training today so we couldn't give in to the clear desires we both had, instead rushing through the shower and downstairs before there was anymore temptation and we ended up late.
Alyssa and I were discussing dinner plans when we walked into the meal room. We never went out on our anniversary, always staying in and just being with each other in the comfort of our own home. This year was different because we were in a hotel, but we would make do. Just as we sat down, Kelley sat across from us, our conversation ending as we waited for her to say something. "Do you guys even like each other? I mean you guys just seem so indifferent around each other, sure you talk and even joke around sometimes, but it's no different then if you were talking to team mates, we've never heard you talk about anything remotely relationship like."
My arm rest on the back of Alyssa's chair, playing with the baby hairs at the base of her neck. That wasn't a usual occurrence, but it was our anniversary. I was feeling a mix of different, slightly overwhelming emotions from love to happiness, and nerves from the fact I was proposing tonight. I just wanted to be close to her right now and the usual leg against mine wasn't enough. Alyssa must have sensed it because her hand rest on my thigh under the table, squeezing gently as I spoke, "Of course we do. We were literally just talking about our plans tonight for our anniversary."
"That was talk about your anniversary? It sounded like you were talking about grocery shopping."
"We were, but in relation to our anniversary."
"So what are you going to do for your anniversary?"
"Chill out in our hotel room. We never do anything big."
"Yeah okay. That tracks with the appearance of your relationship."
Alyssa had gone back to our room after training while I had gone to the store to pick up a few snacks to sneak in and some flowers for her. She always got me flowers so I wanted to return the favour for once. We were planning on ordering in and watching movies before likely ending the night doing inappropriate cuddling.  It was our favourite way to spend our anniversaries. Thankfully, we had an off day tomorrow so we could get away with it.
After placing the bag down on the table, I called out for Alyssa, getting a response from the bathroom almost instantly. My arms wrapped around Alyssa when she emerged from the bathroom, leaving a lingering kiss against her lips. Her eyes dropped down to the bouquet in my hand, a small smile appearing. "This isn't your actual gift, but you always get me flowers so I thought it was my turn. Your gift is running late."
"They're beautiful, thank you Y/n/n. You know you didn't have to get me anything."
"I know, but you also always get me something despite me saying the same thing, therefore shut up."
Alyssa laughed, pushing me away gently and taking the flowers, "You speak to me so romantically my love."
I pulled her back into me, peppering her face with kisses, "I love you."
"I love you. I ordered dinner already, it should be here soon. Also here," Alyssa handed out a small wrapped box. Inside was a gold chain with a small keepers glove attached. It was something I had mentioned wanting, a way to have her close when she wasn't there physically.
"You remembered. I love it Lys."
"Of course I did."
After a short make out session and dinner, we cuddled up in bed to watch a movie. Maybe 15 minutes had passed before I started getting restless. My focus dropped from the movie, instead playing with Alyssa's fingers. I never was the best at staying still. My mind soon drifted to the pool downstairs, it had been a while since I got to go and the urge was suddenly there.
When I shifted position once again, Alyssa chuckled and paused the movie, "I've lost you haven't I?"
I grinned up at her, kissing her softly. Alyssa always knew me so well. "Do you want to go swimming? It's late so no one will be around."
Alyssa knew I loved swimming so she agreed pretty easily, after some teasing of course. We made our way down to the pool, both wearing tank tops and shorts. No one was around so it didn't matter what we wore. I jumped straight in, swimming around a bit while Alyssa sat on the edge of the pool. After a few minutes, I swam up between Alyssa's legs resting my arms on them as I lent up connecting our lips in a lingering kiss.
"Come in."
"It's cold."
"Love, it's a heated pool."
"Okay fine, I just enjoy watching you swim around."
"But, if you come in then we can cuddle, kiss," My hand ran up the inside of her thigh, "Touch."
Alyssa instantly slid into the pool, arm wrapping around me and pulling me against her. "You're a tease."
My hands slipped under her tank top, nails scratching down her back and over her stomach, "It's only teasing if I leave it at that. Just wait until we get ba-"
A loud voice interrupted the moment, annoyance crossing Alyssa's face as she stepped back slightly, but didn't let me go. "Oh my god! They really are together."
I groaned, turning to glare at Emily and Kelley, "Fuck off and stop ruining our anniversary."
Once they were out of sight again, I pulled myself out of the pool, Alyssa rest on my legs as I had done earlier. "What are you doing?"
I pulled the towel that I had hidden the little black box in closer. Inside was a a plain gold band with a round cut diamond. Alyssa didn't often wear jewelry and she liked simple things so I knew she would love it. "I have something for you."
"You waited until we were at the pool to give it to me?"
"Well it wasn't the original plan, but I got nervous." My fingers laced with hers, Alyssa looking up at me curiously. "Never in my life did I think I would fall for someone as hard or fast as I did with you. From the boring, quiet days at home spent doing housework or errands to the movie nights and dinner dates, I love living life with you. I love the adventures we've had, I love working with you, fuck, I just love being with you Alyssa. I look forward to every new day because I get to do it with you. With you by my side, anything is possible. This is a shit speech, but I'm nervous and you love me anyway."
Alyssa chuckled, tears already forming in her eyes before I revealed the little box. "I love you Alyssa, I love you so much more than I thought possible. I want to live life with you forever. With that being said, Alyssa Naeher will you marry me?"
Arms wrapped around my waist tightly, lips connecting with mine, in a soft, emotional kiss, "Yes, yes I will marry you Y/n."
I slipped the ring on her finger, connecting our lips again. Alyssa pulled away too soon for my liking, reaching for her own towel, pulling out a black box similar to the one I had moments before. Alyssa opened it, revealing a plain rose gold band with three small gems set into it. I soon realised it was both our birth stones and one I wasn't quite sure of. "You beat me to it, but will you marry me Y/n?"
"I suppose I can't say no seeing as I just gave you a ring."
Alyssa laughed, sliding the ring onto my finger before kissing me again. "These are our birthstones, what's this one?"
"When we first started dating."
"I love it, I love you."
A crash from behind us instantly caught our attention. About half the team stood there, sheepish smiles in place and a phone pointed in our direction. Seeing as they were caught, everyone started talking over each other, congratulations being thrown our way. I rolled my eyes, turning back to Alyssa. "Let's get out of here before they surround us. We have celebrating to do."

I have admired the work of the amazing @anotherwellkeptsecret for YEARS, following her originally from the height of my Sherlock obsession all the way until now where she has (to my delight!) crossed over into Good Omens as well.
She also just had a baby!!!! So partly as a congratulations, partly as a thank you for being such an artistic inspiration, and partly so I could practice my own digital art techniques and play with Procreate for the first time, I asked if she would allow me the privilege of coloring some of her favorite pages from her comics while she's on maternity leave. And she said yes!
But she asked me to pick my favorites instead. So I took her at her word and chose one favorite page from each of the ten comics I have saved and loved over the years.
Exactly two weeks later (and in no particular order) here is the final result!! I am so grateful to Kelley for letting me do this, and I have discovered so much about my own style and what I like (excessive lights, apparently lol). I hope you guys like them as much as I do, and please please please go support Kelley's tumblr and Patreon, she absolutely deserves the world. 💕

Sorry for any mistake, please enjoy.
"Kelley I swear if you don't-
"Sorry Y/n, I can't hear you from all the way down there."
Kelley teased the youngest player of the national team by resting herself on Y/n while propping herself up.
The 17-year-old let out a huff, as the teammates around them laughed at Kelley's antics. Only a handful of them had seen the look in Y/n's eyes that told them this was about to take a turn.
Taking a large step to the side Y/n caused Kelley to fight gravity which was a losing battle.
O'Hara basically face-planted it on the turf and everyone burst out laughing.
Y/n chucked along as Kelley got up.
"You think that's funny?" Kelley teased.
Y/n replied, "Absolutely hilarious."
Causing O'Hara to purse Y/n while shouting, "Get back here shortstack!"
-----
Y/n went to get a ball from off the sidelines, picking it up in hopes of doing a few tricks to pass the time during a small break in practice.
Until O'Hara bumped into Y/n by accident. "Oh, sorry L/n-"
"It's fine-"
"Guess I just didn't see you from all the way down there."
"It's one freaking inch," Y/n said exasperated, over the fact that Kelley kept pointing it out.
Kelley chucked to herself, "That's what she said."
On any other day, Y/n would have found that humorous as well.
But not today.
"That's it!"
Y/n tackled Kelley to the ground, putting her in a headlock, and attempting to give Kelley a noogie.
They tossed with each other for a few minutes gaining the attention of most of the team.
"Hey look, they're starting a new line of mini WWE Wrestlers for the national team."
Sam and Sonnett joked as they saw Y/n and O'Hara's roughhousing had turned into a little bit of a wrestling match.
Unfortunately, for them, Kelley and Y/n had also heard the comment.
Partially out of breath, Y/n looked at Kelley, "Truce?"
"Truce."
The two grinned and Sonnett and Sam soon realized their mistake.
"Nonononon- wait!"
Nothing was stopping Kelley as she tackled Sonnett to the ground while Y/n pursued Sam.
Chasing her, Y/n gained enough speed to leap onto Sam's back dragging her down to the ground the two laughing as they stayed there for a little.
Only interrupted by the whistle calling the whole team to circle up.
Y/n and Sam got up but saw Kelley had sat on Sonnett's back keeping the woman down.
"O'Hara, I'm warning you."
"I'd like to see you- AAAHH!"
Kelley tried to grasp onto something but Sonnett managed to throw Kelley off and get up.
"How's it feel being down there for a change?" Y/n teased.
"Pretty nice actually, maybe move to the left a bit. You're not blocking the sun enough, mini."
-----
Getting ready to leave for the plane, Y was packing some final things.
"Ready to leave already squirt?"
Letting out a heavy sigh, Y/n turned to O'Hara.
"Almost."
"I'm still not sure how you're okay with this."
"Do I have a choice?"
Kelley shrugged her shoulders.
Y/n wasn't going to the World Cup. Reason being there were more players with more caps under them to choose from. Y/n had done the camps and games but just didn't make the cut.
"I mean I know it's not the worst thing possible for you but just saying you've proved your spot more than enough."
"Let's be real here Kels you just need me so you have a headrest."
"That too."
"Just don't lose too badly out there."
Kelley dawning a hurt expression, "I see how it is."
The woman took Y/n by surprise, taking them both down, and roughhousing ended in fits of laughter.
-----
Y/n was woken by the blaring alarm, "Nnnnooooo."
As tempting as the snooze button was Y/n knew being late wasn't an option.
Gathering some belonging and packed luggage Y/n heard a familiar voice from just beyond the bedroom door.
"Sweetheart you up?"
"Yeah, I'll be downstairs in a few Dad."
Getting everything ready, Y/n left a few things by the front door and headed into the kitchen to see Dad and Papa.
"Ready for another camp, sprout?"
"Yeah, although I do wish you'd stop calling me that. The sprouting has stopped in case you haven't noticed."
"And did I ever say anything when you called me Pop-pop?"
Y/n laughed, "I haven't called you that since I was like eight."
"Your point?"
Y/n let out a chuckle, "Okay Pop-pop. I need to get going, don't want to miss my flight."
"Wait, I packed you a small snack."
"Dad small or normal people small?"
Y/n teased Dad knowing sometimes he over-packed.
"Har-har. I just want you to have options."
"Love you too, old man." Y/n kissed his temple as he drank his coffee grabbing the bag that had the 'snack' in it.
Y/n looked down a little as Papa could kiss the top of Y/n's head.
Hurrying out of the house Y/n heard one of them say, "Call us when you land!"
"Always do!"
-----
Y/n walked into the hotel lobby, not seeing anyone else yet Y/n just checked in with the receptionist.
Heading up to the room, Y/n double-checked for any messages left by the team.
Hearing the elevator open to the room floor Y/n walked out and then did a final check on messages from anyone and saw one from Ash.
'Do you have a tall twin by chance?'
Not even replying Y/n looked to the elevator to see Ash and Ali already trying to figure out who just walked past them.
"Hey, guys."
"Bubs?!"
Ali and Ash both said the nickname they personally had for Y/n, shocked that this was the same person.
"A few inches taller but yeah."
Ash, without warning, ran towards Y/n, clinging to Y/n like a koala to a tree.
"No growing up anymore!"
Y/n lightheartedly chuckled, thinking about how Dad and Papa nearly had the same reaction when noticing the very late and sudden growth spurt.
"Don't worry, I think this is as tall as I go."
Y/n put Ash down. Ali was looking at Ash and Y/n with a smile, noticing Y/n must've only been an inch or two taller than Ash.
"It better be." Ash acknowledged that Y/n was the tallest out of the three.
"Alright, come here bubs." Y/n smiled at Ali, not used to leaning down while hugging the majority of the team.
"It's good to see you guys again."
"I didn't know Sam was here." The three heard Crystal's voice, the hug ending.
Y/n turned around, "Hey Dunn."
The woman just put a hand on her hip, "Well if this isn't a surprise."
"Believe me, I'm still getting used to it myself."
"I'm gonna miss my short buddy."
"I mean I'm pretty sure that just means I give better piggybacks."
-----
Giggling and laughter were heard through the hallway to the cafeteria.
Everyone turned to see who was making the commotion.
Suddenly Y/n came through the doorway with Dunn piggybacking. Both laughed at the situation.
Nearly every person froze. Not seeing Y/n since the last camp before the World Cup.
Dunn got off of Y/n's back, giving the young player a pat between the shoulder blades.
"Shortstack?!"
"Hey, Kels," Y/n said nervously as Kelley's jaw went slack.
"You're.... you're..."
"Tower of Power 2.o?"
As Kelley continued to fumble Sam walked up to Y/n, "Damn, yeah. Welcome to tall people club."
Sam smiled seeing Y/n was still around an inch shorter than her.
While everyone went back to what they were doing before the chaos, Sam and Y/n sat together with Kelley, Sonnett, and a few others.
"Hitting your head a lot?" Sam inquired.
"Not as much, mainly when I just don't think about it."
"Don't worry, you'll learn to auto-duck."
Y/n chuckled, "I think I'll just miss the lost bed space. My bed feels so small now."
Sam nodded in solace.
"The price we pay."
"Were you bitten by a radioactive spider?"
The whole table kind of froze and slowly turned to Kelley.
"Not that I recall?" Y/n answered a little confused
"I'll find out soon enough."
"You wanna tango with my extra muscle, O'Hara?"
While not the most notable change in Y/n, the growth spurt caused Y/n to eat more and in turn, needed to work off more food. It also meant more time in the gym to work out some muscles.
Kelley thinking Y/n just meant the height difference mumbled, "The bigger they are, the harder they fall."
Y/n shrugged the woman off.
"Well, none of that matters because now I get to ride all the grown-up rides!"
The enthusiasm caused the room to erupt in laughter.

Series Masterlist | Chapter 12 | Next Part
***
Once you had caught up to the police cars, to your horror, you were met with the sight of a body covered in a white sheet in the middle of the road. Nancy was there talking to a police officer and when she had noticed the five of you there, she quickly finished her conversation with the officer.
Now, you were all sitting at a picnic table in the trailer park, debriefing over everything you knew thus far. Your head was spinning hearing it all over again. Even though you didn’t feel quite ready to handle it, you knew that you had to. You looked around at your friends sitting beside you at the table and thought about how you were all just victims of circumstance.
“It doesn’t make sense,” Nancy finally spoke up after Dustin’s explanation.
“It’s just a theory,” Dustin replied.
“No, Fred and Chrissy don’t make sense. I mean, why them?” She shook her head as she said it. You wondered how Nancy was feeling. Knowing how much she had struggled with Barb’s death, you wondered if Fred’s was impacting her similarly.
“Maybe they were just in the wrong place?” You suggested. “I mean, they were both at the game…and near the trailer park,” you added, trying to find any and all connections you could possibly make. I just want it to make sense, you thought, if it made sense that means we could fix it.
“We’re at the trailer park,” Steve spoke up hesitantly, looking at you with worry in his eyes as he grabbed for your hand under the table. “Uhh…should we maybe not…be here?”
“There is something about this place,” Nancy began, “Fred started acting weird the second we got here.”
“Weird as in…?” Robin pushed the question.
“Scared….upset,” Nancy looked you all in the eyes. You felt a chill go down your spine as you considered the fact that these kids—your peers—likely died in terror.
“Max said Chrissy was upset too,” Dustin reminded you all.
“Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school.”
“Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right? So maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecna before?” Robin suggested. You were all grasping at straws at this point. There wasn’t anything to even go off of.
“I don’t know about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone,” Steve spoke up. You felt a pang in your chest as you remembered all that you hadn’t been telling him.
“Maybe they did,” you added hesitantly. “I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley’s office. If you saw a monster, you…you wouldn’t go to the police. They’d never believe you.”
“But you might tell your shrink,” Robin finished your thought, sharing a knowing look with you. She had been keeping secrets for you. What Steve didn’t know was that when he had picked you up in the middle of the assembly, the two of you had run into Ms. Kelley before you could make it to the nurse’s office.
You were still crying after you and Robin had gone back inside after hanging up with Steve. You were no longer inconsolable, but tears were still streaming down your face. Robin tried to quickly rush you to the nurse’s office, her mind going a million miles a minute trying to think of a good excuse. Suddenly, you turned the corner and you jumped as you were met face to face with Ms. Kelley.
“Y/n? Is everything okay?” She asked you. Her eyes searched your face looking for an answer and you felt your heart leap to your throat. You were choked up, unable to speak, so she continued, attempting to be quiet to maintain confidentiality. “Is this about the mall fire again? Do you need to schedule another appointment with me?”
You avoided eye contact with Ms. Kelley, instead more focused on looking over her shoulder at Robin as her face twisted into a look of confusion and concern. You felt guilt pull at your chest from the look on her face and you redirected your gaze to the floor, suddenly way more concerned with the dirty laces of your tennis shoes.
“I don’t think that’ll be necessary, Ms. Kelley. Thank you though for all your help this semester. I think I’m just having one of those days and-and with Jason talking about it at the assembly…it just caught me off guard is all,” your voice was small as you responded, trying to swallow the lump in your throat.
“What can I do to support you right now?” She further inquired. All you could think of was the panic that had settled in your ribcage and how you desperately needed to leave.
“I guess…I just don’t think I’m in a good frame of mind to be in class right now. I have a quiz in O’Donell’s and I don’t want my grade to tank because of all of this,” you choked out. Ms. Kelley nodded as she rubbed circles on your back to help calm you down.
“How about I go to the front office and get you all signed out and Robin can wait with you outside for your ride?” You nodded and she turned to Robin, “you can call her folks on the payphone for her, yeah?”
Robin stood dumbfounded for a second before shaking her head to clear her thoughts. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course!” She quickly replied, nodding aggressively, still a bit shocked by the whole encounter. Ms. Kelley thanked Robin and headed towards the main office, and your eyes were still fixed on the floor when Robin spoke up again.
“Look, you don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to, but I just want you to know that I’m here for you, okay?” She grabbed your shoulders and forced you to look her in the eye. “I’m not going to say I understand what you’re going through specifically, but I was there too, so if you ever need to talk to someone about it without shrouding it in lies about a fire, please just come to me.”
You stood there in silence for a little bit before you nodded. “You can’t tell Steve,” you warned, your voice serious. “Seriously, Robin. He can’t know about any of this.”
Robin looked like she wanted to protest but sighed before finally agreeing. “Fine. Let’s go wait for your dingus.”
Your breath caught in your throat as she had said it. You shot her a look that said “don’t even go there” as everyone was getting up to go. She rolled her eyes but dropped the subject. Suddenly you noticed Nancy was heading in a different direction as Steve started to follow after her.
“Woah, woah, Nance. Nance! Where are you going?” Steve called after her, concern lacing his voice. Your heart dropped a little at the nickname, knowing that was what he started calling her after they had started dating. You knew that he loved you, but you couldn’t help but feel less than when you remembered Steve had spent nearly a year dating the most perfect girl in Hawkins.
“Oh, there’s just something I wanna check on first.” She responded, though something in her voice made it clear that there was more than she was letting on.
“Something you maybe wanna share with the rest of us?” Dustin asked, exasperated, and you couldn’t help but agree with the sentiment. We’re all in this together and it doesn’t make sense to be keeping things from each other, you thought, but it was followed by an immediate pang in your chest as you thought about the things you’d been keeping from your own boyfriend.
“I just don’t wanna waste anyone’s time.”
“Uh, are you serious? Flying solo with this Vecna guy on the loose? No, it’s too dangerous. You need someone to go with you. In fact, I’ll go,” you started heading towards her, but Steve caught you by your elbow and pulled you back, the change in momentum causing you to stumble.
“Oh, absolutely not! No way in fucking hell!” Steve yelled, and your jaw set at the anger in his voice. You opened your mouth to argue, but Robin spoke up before you could get a word out.
“This is stupid. I’ll go with Nancy and we’ll sort out whatever it is we need to sort out,” Robin started heading towards Nancy’s car and Nancy quickly followed.
“Be careful!” You yelled out after them and they didn’t really respond because who could honestly be careful with any of this shit anyway? None of you really knew what the hell was going on.
Steve rolled his eyes as you all got in the car. “Wipe your feet,” he warned Dustin, who, in true dumbass fashion, began wiping his dirty tennis shoes off on the floor mats in Steve’s BMW. “Not on the inside! On the outside idiot!” You couldn’t help but chuckle as Steve aggressively started the car. “Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter!”
“Hey, it could be worse…the kids behave sometimes,” you reminded Steve and he looked at you like you had three heads.
“Yeah, sure, if sometimes means on the corner of never and not at all, then sure. They’re perfectly behaved,” he grumbled and you couldn’t help but laugh. The laughter, however, didn’t last long as the reality of the situation started to settle in. You were going to have to talk to Ms. Kelley.
“Hey, so I think I’ll go talk to Ms. Kelley by myself, you know. I just…I’ve been talking to her recently because she’s been helping with some college application stuff, so I’ve got a good rapport with her and whatever,” you attempted to remain nonchalant, but you stumbled over your words a bit and Steve looked at you funny. You just stared pointedly at him and he shrugged, making his way to her house. Luckily with it being such a small town, it wasn’t too hard to figure out where she lived. He parked on the street and turned the car off, beginning to unbuckle.
“What are you doing?” You asked quickly.
“What does it look like I’m doing? I’m going with you,” he responded, his brows furrowed in confusion and annoyance.
“No!” you put a hand on his shoulder, and he stopped in his tracks, his confusion significantly multiplying.
“This shit is fucked, y/n. I’m not letting you go by yourself, no way.”
“Well, then Max can go with me,” you offered, looking at the girl in the backseat who was equally confused. “I just think it’s a good idea for you to keep the car running…you know, in case something happens and we have to leave quickly.”
It was a dumb ass excuse, but Steve let it slide as he rolled his eyes and started the car again. Max opened up her mouth to ask you what the hell was going on as you made your way to the front door but you just gave a small shake of your head to shut down her potential questioning. You knocked on the door and Ms. Kelley finally answered, a look of confusion and concern painted across her features.
“Hey…I-I’m sorry to bother you over break but do you have a minute to talk?” You asked, trying to keep your voice even despite the anxiety settling in your chest.
“Um, yeah, of course. Of course,” she replied, stepping to the side to let the both of you in. You both sat down in her family room as she took a seat across from the two of you.
“So, what’s going on? What would you like to talk about?”
“I just brought Max here because with all of the murders going on…we’re just…I guess we’re just feeling a bit uneasy. It’s just making it difficult, especially since Max lives in the trailer park too where the body was discovered. It’s just hitting a little too close to home.” Max nodded, following your lead, though neither of you were being dishonest. You were both scared shitless.
“You both have experienced trauma and I know both of you don’t like to talk about it or deal with your emotions,” Ms. Kelley spoke up and you looked over to Max. She must have been seeing Ms. Kelley too. “But when you keep your feelings bottled up like that, it is very easy for something to set them off. So now, when it rains, it storms.”
“Yeah, I know,” Max replied, and your heart ached for the poor girl. You felt the ever present guilt tear at your chest as you tried to swallow the lump in your throat as she went on. “It’s just, I live right next door to where it happened. The police asked me a bunch of questions…and I guess I was just wondering if they talked to you? I know you were seeing Chrissy—“
Ms. Kelley cut her off, “you know I can’t talk to you about Chrissy.”
“I know but what if there was a serial killer loose in her neighborhood?” You chimed in. “Did Chrissy mention anything? Anything at all about who might have done this?”
“Girls, I really can’t discuss this, I’m sorry. You both wouldn’t want me talking about you to other students, right?”
“If I were dead and it would help catch the killer, then yeah, I most definitely would,” you shot back, beginning to get heated about the way this was getting you nowhere.
“Well, let’s leave that to the police then, okay?” Ms. Kelley responded, staying calm per usual despite your outburst.
“Yeah, you’re right,” you conceded, but another plan was already taking root in your mind. “Can we use the restroom on our way out?”
“Sure. Up the stairs to the left.” You grabbed Max’s wrist and gently but quickly guided her up into the kitchen, ignoring Ms. Kelley’s directions she had given you and grabbing keys labeled “office” out of a bowl on her counter.
“Come on,” you whispered, dragging her behind you as you both swiftly and silently made your way out of the house. You quickly got in the car before looking at Steve who was staring at you expectantly. “Drive.”
“What? Y/n, what did she say?”
“Nothing, just drive!” You emphasized and Steve abided as he took off. You would have to wait for the sun to go down, but as soon as it did, it was go time.
You were breaking in to Hawkins High.
***
You fumbled with the keys as you tried to unlock the doors of the school. You weren’t the type of student that did this shit. Sure, you weren’t exactly a goody-two-shoes, but breaking into the school? That was a bit too much, even for the likes of you guys.
You finally got the door opened, pushing into the dark hallway, flashlight illuminating the dark corridor as you made your way into the building. After making sure there was no one in sight, you waved the rest of the gang to follow you.
“This is dumb as hell,” Steve reminded you, “like I don’t know in what world you see this going okay…and—and if we get caught, you might as well kiss your chance of scholarships goodbye.”
“Well, some things are more important than college,” you grumbled, annoyed with your boyfriend. You guessed it was cute that he cared so much about your long term plans and aspirations—but still.
He scoffed and you rolled your eyes as you continued to make your way down the hall. Suddenly Dustin’s walkie talkie came to life, Robin’s voice echoing out into the empty hall. “Dustin, do you copy?”
“Yeah, I copy.”
“So, Nancy’s a genius. Vecna’s first victims date all the way back to 1959; her shot in the dark was a bullseye,” Robin sounded excited. Dustin was about to speak again when you took the walkie out of his hands, pressing down the button to speak.
“That is totally bonkers, but we can’t really talk right now,” you relayed quickly into the radio.
“Wait, what are you guys doing right now?”
“You know, just…breaking and entering in the school to retrieve confidential and extremely personal files,” you replied a bit sheepishly. Robin asked you to repeat yourself, but Steve grabbed the walkie talkie from you.
“Just get your asses over here, stat. We’ll explain everything,” Steve sounded irritated. He wasn’t super thrilled to be bringing two of his other senior friends into this who were likely to be expelled if the school found out about their actions.
You swiftly unlocked the door to Ms. Kelley’s office, immediately moving to unlock the file cabinet that contained all of her student files.
“It’s like a mini Watergate or something,” Dustin mumbled as you yanked the drawer open, flipping through the files. “Hawkinsgate!” Dustin emphasized, though you weren’t entirely paying attention, attempting to find Chrissy’s file.
“Didn’t those guys get caught?” Steve reminded the boy, his anxiety rising by the minute the longer you all were in the building.
“Holy shit,” you whispered, stopping at another hauntingly familiar name on a file.
“Did you find it?” Max asked, everyone’s attention now on you.
“Yeah, and not just Chrissy’s file…Fred was seeing Ms. Kelley too.”
You all looked between each other, the room becoming increasingly more tense as elements of what you knew were beginning to connect. You sat down as you flipped Chrissy’s file open. You were thumbing through the pages when you found a handwritten note with a list of symptoms. You felt your heart drop when you read them. “Um, can I see Fred’s file,” you whispered, not drawing your eyes away from the words on the page.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Steve replied, setting Fred’s file in front of you. You frantically flipped through the pages until you found a very similar handwritten note, detailing all the same ailments. You sat there, staring wide eyed at the page in front of you, hoping desperately that if you stared at it long enough that the words would change. They didn’t.
Dustin spoke up from behind you, “hey, y/n…you have a file in here too?” It was more of a question than a statement, and you broke out of your trance as Steve looked at you confused. When you didn’t say anything, he turned his attention to Dustin, his confusion turning to anger.
“Hey, that’s not funny. Stop bullshitting, man,” Steve warned, but he stopped in his tracks when Dustin held up the file folder, your name printed clear as day across the top. Why in the hell were you seeing Ms. Kelley? His mind raced as he tried not to think about all the other things you might not be telling him.
“Y/n? What is this? Y/n…y/n!” Steve began to interrogate you, holding up the file folder in front of you in a white knuckled grip. He was mad…that much you could tell, but his voice continued to sound farther and farther away. Instead, a different voice rang out, your name echoing into the room in a low and gravelly register that made your skin crawl. Even though you didn’t want to, you felt compelled to follow it.
You turned, getting up from your chair and exiting into the hallway. You heard a slight, rhythmic ticking before a chime rang out. A chill went down your spine as the noise caused your heart to sink in your chest. If anxiety had a sound, this was it.
You tried to swallow the lump in your throat as you pushed on through the hallway. You were surprised no one else had followed you, but you pushed the thought aside as you turned the corner, you flashlight slightly shaking in your unsteady hands. The light caught the wall at the end of the tunnel, and you felt nauseous looking at the ornate grandfather clock sat nestled into the wall, fissures spreading outwards as the plaster cracked around its wooden frame.
The pendulum swung back and forth ominously…hypnotically as you continued towards it. Your mind screamed at you to stop, but your legs wouldn’t listen as they continued forward, bringing you closer and closer to the clock. It continued to tick evenly, which was almost more unsettling as you wondered what it was counting down to.
“Y/n,” the voice growled out again. It was all too much to bear, so you squeezed your eyes shut tight as you willed it all to be over. Instead, you were met with bright blue, yet sinister looking eyes staring back at you.
Suddenly, Steve’s voice filled your ears again and you felt someone shaking at your shoulders. “Y/n! Y/n, please wake up! Y/n!”
Your eyes shot open as you stared wide eyed into the familiar brown ones you would daydream about. Except, instead of having the familiar flecks of light as they twinkled when he talked to you, they were dark and full of worry, his brow furrowed as he stared deep into your eyes.
You gasped and leaned forward in your chair, collapsing into his arms. He immediately reacted to your movements, pulling you in close as his hands frantically moved across your back, as if trying to make sure you were still all there. You were breathing heavily and fighting back tears as you gripped Steve’s shirt in your hands.
The door suddenly burst open, causing you to shriek, and Steve swiftly pulled you up out of your chair, yanking you behind him as he gripped your hand in his. Your heart rate began to slow as you realized it was only Nancy and Robin…not whatever that thing was that you saw.
“What’s going on?” Robin asked hesitantly. You looked between Dustin, Max, and Steve as you tried to figure out what you could possibly say. After a moment, you finally settled on something, reluctantly opening your mouth to speak.
“I…I saw something.”
“What do you mean you saw something?” Dustin asked hesitantly. He had been scared out of his mind when he saw you go catatonic in the chair, unresponsive to Steve’s shouting. He had thought back to Eddie’s account of what happened to Chrissy as he sat frozen watching Steve try to wake you.
Your lips parted to try and explain, but you shook your head, moving around Steve and darting towards the door. He tried to stop you, but Robin put a hand on his shoulder, holding him back as everyone followed you out into the hall.
“It was right there….a grandfather clock. And—and it was so…real. When I got closer, suddenly I-I just…I woke up,” you explained, staring blankly at the wall in front of you. It sat there plain and empty, and it almost was more frightening that the clock you had seen was gone now.
“It was like she was in a trance or something. Exactly like what Eddie said happened to Chrissy,” Dustin elaborated. Steve’s stomach dropped and he suddenly felt nauseous. That couldn’t be it. He couldn’t live with himself if you…
He pushed the thought aside.
“That’s not even the bad part,” you interjected, turning to face your group of friends.
“What the fuck do you mean, y/n?” Steve asked, his voice dead serious. You didn’t answer him as you quickly made your way back to Ms. Kelley’s office, opening the files that had sent a shudder down your spine as you read them earlier.
“Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms. Kelley for help. Uh, they both were having headaches, nosebleeds…nightmares, trouble sleeping. And—and then they started seeing things. Bad things,” you started explaining. Steve thought back to all the times you had woken up gasping in the middle of the night, burying your head into his chest as he soothed you back to sleep. He thought about the tissues he had started keeping in his car and the jokes he made about your suddenly frequent nosebleeds. He thought about the headache you had just the night before. He felt more sick to his stomach than he had ever felt in his life as he followed the dots you had connected.
“These visions, they kept on getting worse and worse, until eventually…everything ended,” you whispered the last part, your voice beginning to fail you.
“Vecna’s curse,” Robin looked at you, fear in her eyes.
“Chrissy’s headache started a week ago. Fred’s six days ago,” you continued, “I’ve been having them for five days. I don’t know how long I have. All I know is that Fred and Chrissy both died within 24 hours of their first vision, and I just saw that goddamn clock, so…looks like I’m gonna die tomorrow.” A tear rolled down your cheek as you stumbled through your words, not ready for the inevitability that you were staring in the face.
“No, that’s not going to happen,” Steve spoke up, shaking his head aggressively. “I mean, it’s all just a coincidence, right? It has to be. It-it just has to be.” His voice began to falter as he looked between all of you, none of you sharing his optimism. No one responded, and he kicked the metallic front of the desk, muttering curse words under his breath. You went to stop him, but Robin held you back. He needed this. He needed the catharsis.
Each clang that rang out was like a knife to your chest, feeling the reverberation in your body as he kicked with all his might. He finally calmed down a bit, leaning over and panting as he placed two hands on the desk and stared as his feet while fuming.
Suddenly another clang rang out; however, this one couldn’t be attributed to Steve’s outburst. This one came from somewhere else in the building. You all jumped and Steve when saw the fear in your eyes, his jaw set and he spoke up.
“You guys stay here,” he muttered as he grabbed a floor lamp, yanking it aggressively to unplug it before heading out of the room. You all obviously didn’t listen, following close behind as you hesitantly made your way down the hall. Another clang sounded, this time closer, and you jumped, Robin grabbing your shoulders to steady you. Suddenly, you heard the distinctive sound of footsteps. Someone was coming for you.
The pace of them quickened as whatever was headed your direction began to break out into a clear and definite sprint. A figure suddenly turned the corner, and everyone broke out into a chorus of shrieks and screams as Steve geared up to swing the metal lamp.
“It’s me!” The figure screamed out and you realized it was only Lucas.
“What is wrong with you Sinclair?!” Steve shouted, his paternal side kicking in as he turned this instance into a lecture.
“I’m sorry,” Lucas panted, doubled over from running.
“I could’ve taken you out with this lamp!” Steve once again emphasized, shaking the lamp for effect.
“I’m sorry guys…I-I…just give me a second…I was biking…for eight miles. And-and…we’ve got…a code red,” he panted in response. You all looked at him expectantly before he continued. “Dustin, I’ve been with Jason, Patrick, and Andy and they’ve totally gone off the rails. They’re trying to capture Eddie and they think you know where he is. You’re in terrible danger!”
Your heart stopped in your chest, as you went to stand in front of Dustin wanting to further question Lucas. You needed to know every last damn detail if you were going to keep Dustin safe, and that was all you cared about right now. Dustin pushed back in front of you, glaring at you a bit before speaking up again. “That really sucks, but we have bigger problems than Jason right now,” he relayed to Lucas, looking back at you.
***
You had split up for the night…well kind of. Everyone else was spending the night at Nancy’s but Steve decided that the two of you needed time to talk so there you were, back in his BMW as you made your way to his house. You didn’t know what to say to him, and you both rode in silence, the air tense between you.
About halfway through the ride, he had removed one hand from the steering wheel, reaching blindly to grasp your hand in his. He needed reassurance that you were still here. He needed to find a way to believe that they would figure this out and you would still be here.
You went up to his room, quietly sitting on the bed as your eyes filled with tears again now that you were in an environment in which you could be more vulnerable. Steve stood at his dresser, getting a pair of pajama pants out as he broke the silence.
“How could you keep this from me, y/n?” He sounded hurt and you really couldn’t blame him. If the tables were turned you would have felt the same way, and you felt the need to justify your actions.
“I didn’t want to worry you,” you whispered. You were looking down at your hands, though you couldn’t see them that well as your vision blurred from the unshed tears.
“That’s bullshit, and I think you know it,” Steve replied, his voice still small. “I…I just can’t believe you don’t trust me.”
“Of course I trust you Steve!” You cried out, your head snapping up to look at him.
“You sure have a funny way of showing it,” he scoffed. He knew he shouldn’t be angry with you. That he shouldn’t be taking it out on you. But he felt betrayed, feeling as though the relationship you’d built was shattering before his eyes as he contemplated the secrets you’d kept.
“You knew I was struggling. Don’t even try and act like you didn’t; this shouldn’t be a complete shock,” you defended yourself, anger leaking into your tone as well.
“Yeah, I knew you were struggling, but not like this! This is kind of a bit more than just struggling, y/n. Why didn’t you fucking tell me you were seeing Ms. Kelley?”
“Steve, that doesn’t even matter, I don’t get why you’re so caught up on that one little detail! It’s nothing compared to all the other shit going on right now!” You yelled, exasperated that, despite everything, he couldn’t just let it go.
“‘It doesn’t matter’? Are you fucking serious, y/n? Of course it fucking matters! You didn’t come to me! You never tell me things! We don’t really fucking talk about it anymore—all the shit we went through, I mean,” he sighed, running his hands through his hair as you stared up at him from your spot on his bed. He still stood by his dressed, and the distance between you suddenly felt uncrossable. In this moment, it felt like you were strangers to one another. He took a deep breath and continued, “I-I…we used to talk about it; work through it together. It seems like ever since last summer, we don’t even fucking acknowledge it.”
You stared up at him from across the room, and he thought he could break at the look in your eyes. You were hurting. You had been hurting, and all he wanted to do was try and make it better, but you wouldn’t let him.
“I don’t know what you want me to tell you, Steve,” your voice was even as you said it.
“Why didn’t you tell me about seeing Ms. Kelley?”
“Steve—“
“No, cut the bullshit, y/n. Why didn’t you tell me you were seeing Ms. Kelley? It’s a simple question; answer it,” he crossed his arms, refusing to move on until he got an adequate response. You were reaching your breaking point, and you didn’t think about the words before they exited your lips.
“Because you would have tried to help, and I don’t want your fucking help!” You blurted out. As soon as you saw the way that Steve’s face fell as you said it, you wished you could take it back. He took a deep breath and hung his head as he turned to leave the room. “Steve, wait….I-I didn’t mean it like that! Steve!”
You ran to him, grabbing at his wrist to try and get him to stay. He shook your hand away, turning around to look back at you. You saw the way tears were beginning to pool in his pretty brown eyes.
“Y/n…just….I just need you to leave me alone right now, okay?” He choked the words out. You were expecting him to be mad, to yell, to be angry. Instead his voice was small and sad, and you felt your heart jump to your throat. You didn’t listen, grabbing his wrist again as tears began to stream down your face. You decided that listening to him shout was easier to take than watching him cry knowing you caused it.
“Just yell at me! Steve, please. Just yell at me! Don’t leave, please baby!” You begged, pulling on his arm with each word that left your mouth. You were choking back sobs and slowly, he turned back towards you.
Something about him set off alarm bells in your head as you felt a shiver run down your spine.
“Why would I stay for you?” The words felt like a knife to your heart as your brows furrowed, confused at his words.
“What?” You whispered, your hands dropping his wrist as a lump formed in your throat.
“I said, why would I stay for you? You’re a dirty fucking liar and the most self-centered person I fucking know. It doesn’t matter what I need, or what anyone else needs. I mean, you put the kids in danger all the fucking time! When are you going to learn that this Upside Down bullshit isn’t what’s scary. You are,” he spat, taking a step towards you. Your heart was racing and you took a step back. He had never acted like this before. He had never told you that he thought these things about you.
“I-I…I don’t understand,” you cried, continuing to scramble backwards as he approached you. You’d never been afraid of him before either, but you couldn’t help the fear clawing at your chest as he continued forward, slowly yet with an aggression that had you trembling as you quickened your steps backwards to evade his reach. His room was only so small, and you were running out of room.
“Y/n,” Steve laughed. It sounded foreign to your ears; it wasn’t the melodic tone you’d come to love and seek out. Instead it was sinister, laced in condescension and anger. “Did you really think I care whether or not I’m with you or some other bitch? Do you really think anyone cares about you? You’re just some misfit freak, and nothing is ever going to change that.”
You took a step back, jumping in fright as your back hit the wall. You had run out of room, and suddenly Steve grabbed your wrists and pinned them to your sides. You squeezed your eyes shut tight and turned your head to the side, hoping that it would all just go away.
“Look at me,” Steve’s voice rang out again, but this time it was distorted, your eyes fluttered open as you cried out, being met with the same piercing blue eyes that you had seen flash across your vision before you woke up from your trance in the school earlier. You heard a chime ring out; the same chime that echoed from the clock, and you remembered the way the pendulum had swung menacingly from side to side.
“Let go of me!” You gasped out. You wished you hadn’t opened your eyes, as you took in the sight of the figure in front of you. His skin was decrepit, a slightly translucent sheen apparent as the dim moonlight filtering through the window reflected off its surface.
“You think you can atone for everything that you destroyed?” The figure asked you. Your heart was racing, feeling his clawed hands grip your wrists tighter as you tried to wriggle free. “All you’ve ever done is hurt people, put people in danger, ruin lives.”
You thought back over the past two and a half years, feeling the guilt rise in your throat as you thought about Dustin. You were supposed to protect him. You were supposed to make sure he was staying out of danger.
Instead, time and time again you led him right to it.
“Just let me go!” You shrieked. You couldn’t budge from his grasp, small cries escaping your lips in defeat as you continued your desperate and futile attempts to break free.
“Your time is almost up, y/n,” his voice was a low growl as he leaned in, saying it quietly into your ear. Goosebumps erupted over your whole body as you squeezed your eyes shut again.
“Y/n! Please! Y/n!” Another voice suddenly filled your ears. It sounded far away at first, but it became clearer and you felt someone shaking your shoulders as your eyes snapped open to meet the familiar brown ones you knew and loved. Tears were streaming down Steve’s face and when he realized you finally come to, he pulled you in, crushing you in the tightest hug you’d ever received.
You began to break down, sobs racking your frame as you grabbed onto your boyfriend. “I don’t know what’s real anymore,” you choked out between sobs, your tears forming a wet spot on his shirt as you cried into his shoulder.
“Shhhhh, it’s okay. I’m here, baby, I’m real,” he tried to console you, but he was still a mess himself. He thought back over what he just witnessed and he felt guilt settle in his chest.
He had just told you that he needed a second to be alone. He needed time to clear his thoughts because he didn’t want to say anything in the heat of the moment that he would regret later. You had clung to his arm, protesting and trying to get him to stay when all of the sudden you retreated into yourself, going catatonic as your eyes rolled in the back of your head. He felt his heart sink halfway to hell when you wouldn’t respond. Your eyes were moving rapidly back and forth underneath your eyelids and regardless of what he did, you wouldn’t wake up. All he could think about was what Eddie had said about Chrissy…the way she levitated and her bones began to snap and how her eyes got pulled back into her skull.
He couldn’t watch that happen to you.
“I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you,” he whispered into your ear as he swayed with you from side to side. You could feel him still trembling and you thought back to what the figure—what Vecna, had said. All you ever brought on was hurt and destruction and chaos.
“I’m sorry!” You cried out, continuing to sob. At this, Steve immediately pulled away, looking at you quizzically.
“Why are you apologizing? Please don’t apologize, baby,” he begged.
“It’s just…I-I-I should’ve told you I was going to see Ms. Kelley! I was just afraid be-because I didn’t want you…to-to try and fix it because I knew that-that you would worry, and…and I didn’t want to put you through that stress,” you began, hiccuping through your words as you continued to cry. “Steve, I-I…I don’t think I have much time. I don’t want to waste what little we might have left being angry at each other, so can you please forgive me?”
Steve ignored your plea for forgiveness, instead focusing on the other aspect of your statement. “What do you mean you don’t have much time?” He asked hesitantly, afraid of what your answer would be.
“I saw Vecna,” you whispered, “he told me my time is almost up.”
“I’m not going to let him take you from me, y/n. I’m just not,” he shook his head aggressively as he stared at you wide eyed.
“Steve, this is exactly why I didn’t tell you—“ you began but he cut you off.
“Y/n, I don’t care that you don’t want me to worry about you; I’m going to regardless of whether you tell me to or not, and if you think that I’m going to let some Upside Down, inter dimensional, creepy ass motherfucker take you away from us, you are dead wrong,” he started, getting more and more emphatic and angry as he spoke. When he continued, his voice was softer. “I’m not letting anyone hurt my girl again, okay? We’re all going to figure this out and everything is going to be okay. We’re going to find Vecna and kill his ass, and everything is going to be okay…you are going to be okay.”
It sounded like he was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince you. You put your hands on the side of his face, trying to get him to settle, your heart hurting at his frantic speaking, a stark contrast to his usual more calm demeanor.
“Steve, but what if it’s not?” You asked, your voice a whisper.
“It has to be,” he whispered back. You could see the tears beginning to well in his eyes again, and you placed a soft kiss to his lips. He reciprocated, deepening the kiss as his hand went to the nape of your neck. He kissed you like his life depended on it; like he would never get to kiss you again as he pushed you towards his bed, laying you down gently.
His lips moved across your jawline as he kissed your soft skin, placing gentle but fervent kisses on the spot just below your ear. His lips trailed down your neck as he listened to you breathe. You were whispering his name and he took a second to take it all in.
Here he was, with the love of his life, who was presumably about to die at any given moment. Yet you were still sitting like a masterpiece on his sheets, his name dripping from your lips like honey. You were everything he had ever wanted and he cursed himself for not doing a better job at protecting you.
“Steve?” You whispered breathily, putting a hand on his chest to stop him. He propped himself up better, looking down at you, and he felt his heart skip as he looked into your lust filled eyes.
“What is it baby?”
“I’m ready,” you whispered. Understanding what you meant, he leaned down and placed the sweetest and most gentle kiss to your lips.
Tomorrow wasn’t certain, so tonight, Steve was going to love you as if there was no tomorrow, making sure you knew exactly just how much you meant to him.
While you spent the night tangled up in Steve’s bedsheets as he placed hot kisses across every inch of your body, for the first time in a while, you felt at ease. You allowed yourself to revel in the bliss of that moment because, come tomorrow morning, you were going to have to start facing the reality of the situation.
And the reality of a sudden and gruesome death was a hard pill to swallow.

five things about you [k.ohara x reader]
Tumblr media
prompt: five things kelley does while you're pregnant that makes you fall more inlove with her.
author notes: i think this is finally the end of my writers block. i have so many requests in my inbox, and i swear i'll get to them eventually (sooner than later i hope). hope y'all enjoy this kelley fluff!
Tumblr media
I. how she talks to your belly when she thinks you're sleeping
ever since you started to show a bit with a small belly bump kelley has been talking to it. the moment you drift off to sleep she places her hands gently on your belly and places a few soft kisses on the skin there. smiling as she quietly says whatever comes to mind.
"your momma ate lots of fruit today, i hope you liked them" she says. laughing when she remembers how you refused to eat anything but fruit the whole day. claiming that anything else would be too nasty, too bitter. you needed something sweet and only that. "she walked around a lot today too. couldn't sit down until i picked her up and put her on the couch. did that bother you? huh, baby?" kelley smiles, placing another kiss on your belly.
what kelley doesn't realize is that you are wide awake, just too tired from the day to open your eyes. ever since you gotten pregnant you have became a light sleeper (one of the worst things pregnancy have gifted you in your opinion). it takes everything in you to not smile and tangle your fingers in the brunette's hair. however instead of doing that, you just let kelley continue saying nonsense to your swollen belly. internally reminding yourself to tease her about this when you two's baby is born, but for now you let her indulge.
Tumblr media
II. how she lifts up your belly every time you complain about the weight
kelley has been very in tune with any pains you had since you started to show symptoms of pregnancy. finding a way to help with every one or aleast a way to support you though it. when your feet started to swell, she would massage them or carry you wherever you wanted to go even if you complained about how you would be too heavy. same with when your back started to hurt, she massages it with such care that you swear she must have took some classes. weird cravings? don't worry she already is on her way to the store to buy them.
your all time favorite though is definitely when your wife takes it upon herself to relieve you of some of that belly bump weight.
"is this good enough for you, babes?" kelley says against your ear as her hands up under your belly. smiling as she lifts up your bump. placing a kiss on your cheek when you groan out in satisfaction. "very good. thank you, baby" you say. turning your head to give a kiss in appreciation. the brunette hums into the kiss, savoring the domesticity of the moment.
Tumblr media
III. how she excited she gets when you two go baby shopping
the best part of your pregnancy is the shopping part. going into different shops as you look at various adorable baby clothes, toys, and strollers makes all the pain worth it. the mental gymnastics you jump though to justify some of your purchases are sorta insane, but it's not like kelley is complaining. far from it. if she could spend half of her day in the shops, looking at baby clothes, she would.
you two's hands are interlocking as y'all walk into a small boutique. d.c is littered with similar shops like these and you enjoy that fact very much. the shop is nicely decorated with baby blue, white, and a light yellow being the main colors. you let go of kelley's hand to go over to the clothes section and you assume kelley walks over to the toys section as you hear a baby rattle that your wife is most likely playing with right now.
"pink or purple..?" you mumble to yourself as your hands rest on some baby dresses. the little ruffles on the dresses making you wish the baby was here faster than your due date. your indecision doesn't last long as you feel the presence of someone besides you. before you can even turn to see who it is, their voice already tells you who it is.
"do you think our little girl is going to like dinosaurs or whales?" kelley says with a t-rex plushie in one arm and a humpback whale plushie in the other. both are absolutely adorable, but you find kelley the most adorable out of the three. "does it really matter? she can just like both, so get both" you say as you go back to back to looking at the dresses.
"but babeee, it does matter!" kelley half shouts, half whispers. "little kids usually fixate on just one thing and i don't wanna get her the one she wouldn't fixate on" she pouts at your lack of attention to the obviously very big problem at the moment. you giggle, turning towards her fully to look at the plushies again. "i don't think that's actually true but okay baby, whatever you say" you grab onto the whale plushie and pull it out of kelley's grasp. holding it up to eye level to really get a look at it.
"hm.. this one," you hand the plushie back to your wife. she smiles at you before frowning again, "but what if you're wrong?"
"why would i be wrong? i'm the one giving birth to the little rascal."
"for one, she's not a rascal and for two, you can still be wrong babe!"
"okay okay, just get both" you say. kelley just nods before walking off, probably back to the toys aisle.
now back to those dresses..
Tumblr media
IV. how she always carries you at every opportunity like you weigh nothing
it didn't matter if you were in pain or not, kelley was always quick to pick you up bridal style. you always whine that "you're too heavy" but your wife doesn't really care.
it's another day where your back is killing you and your feet feel like they are water balloons just waiting to pop. you try to ignore the pain by laying down on the couch and drowning yourself in stupid rom-coms until kelley makes it back home.
that method only works for so long so when you hear the sound of the front door opening, you sit up and call out for kelley, "babe!"
"hm? what is it, baby?" she says as she walks into the living room. dropping her bag down near the end of the couch. she realizes what is the problem as she notices how you are still on the couch just like how you were two hours ago when you were on the phone with her. "baby hurting you?" kelley chuckles as you nod, coming around the couch to stand next to where you are sitting up at. taking a single finger to lightly tap on your stomach, "bad baby."
"don't be mean to my princess," you joke, giving kelley a light slap on her hand. she grabs onto your hand and gives it a kiss before placing a kiss on your baby bump. "sorry, little one. just wish you didn't cause your momma so much pain," she says as she lays her head against the bump.
you smile hearing her words. letting out a light yawn that makes kelley look up from your belly to you.
"tired?"
"mhm. been tired the entire day, but i didn't feel like walking up the stairs to bed.." you mumble. the obvious sleepiness in your voice makes kelley frown. she stands up before picking up without any warning. you yelp in surprise, slapping your wife gently on the shoulder. laughter flows from your lips as kelley starts to walk out of the living room. you don't start whining about how you weight too much until she reaches the stairs. "i'm way too big to be carried up a flight of stairs," you whine out. trying to get out of kelley's grasp, but she holds onto you tight enough that you can't wiggle out of her arms.
"never too heavy for me. if that ever happens i guess i just need to hit the gym more," the brunette laughs out. empathizing her point as she easily walks up the stairs with you in her arms. not faltering once.
she takes you right into you two's bedroom and lays you down on the bed. placing a kiss on your forehead before going over to the closet to grab one of her oversized shirts. throwing it to you as she walks back over to the bed. "too sleep in. want you to be all comfy," kelley lays down on the bed beside you. "thanks baby" you say as you change into the shirt, being too lazy to change out of your pajama shorts.
it takes only ten minutes for you to slip off to sleep after your head hits the pillow. of course you wake back up five minutes later, turning over to cuddle into kelley's side before drifting back off. she places soft kisses all your face as you drift off, admiring how peaceful you look.
Tumblr media
V. how she proudly shows you off
kelley considers herself to be a pretty private person when it comes to relationships. you two's relationship wasn't even confirmed until you posted a photo of your engagement two years ago. however, she was happy to show off your pregnancy. posting a photo dump of you being adorable doing pregnant wifey things every couple months. she just finds you to be even more beautiful after getting pregnant. that baby glow was doing wonders for you.
it was the day of the baby shower alex and your sister helped to plan. kristie was also the one to help you pick out an aesthetic for the venue, but that was pretty much it.
you have cried about five times since the party started. once because seeing your family come out made you emotional, another two times because all of kelley's friends were sweethearts especially alex who is by your side for a majority of the event, one more time after seeing harper (sam bought along some of her aussie friends and katrina wouldn't miss the opportunity to come to a baby shower) running around with charlie which made you think of the baby that is ready to pop in your belly, and one last time because the vanilla cake was really good.
after eating, it was time to reveal the gender of the baby to you two's family and friends. kelley's arm is resting over your shoulder as you hold a white balloon in your hands.
"ready, baby?" she whispers to you. smiling once you nod.
"alright!" kelley says loudly to the mini crowd infront of you two. "one, two, three!" they count down. on three kelley pokes the balloon and it pops out pink confetti. lynn is the first to gasp out in celebration and pretty soon everyone follows after.
while everyone else is celebrating the reveal, kelley is pulling you into a hug. your arms go to wrap around her neck. tears threatening to fall from your eyes despite having already known the gender of the baby before the whole event. "i don't even know why i'm about to cry. we both already knew it was a babygirl," you say into kelley's shoulder. she pulls back a bit to look at her. wiping the tears that did manage to escape from your eyes. "it's okay. it's not just about the reveal, but having everyone here with us makes it so special. i almost cried but you know.. i would rather not being teased forever" she reassures you.
you two take a few more moments to talk before celebrating with the rest of your friends and family.
later on in the evening, long after the kiddos attending the party were put to sleep, all of the adults sit at the tables. kelley and you are back standing at the front of the venue where all the gifts are. a glass of wine sits nicely in your wife's hands with her other hand resting on your belly.
"okay firstly i would like to thank everyone for coming out, we loved seeing you all. secondly i want to thank the beautiful woman standing next to me right now.." the brunette smiles as you roll your eyes in mock annoyance. "i want to thank my beautiful wife, y/n, for being the perfect woman for me. who happily supports me with every venture i done and is always there for me. you're going to be a great mother once this little one pops. love you, baby" she says before pulling you into a short kiss.
you almost use your hand to shelter you two but decide against it. the damage is already done and you can already hear sam starting her teasing. emily of course has to jump in on it too.
looks like kelley isn't going to go tease-free today after all.

“Y/N, we can’t discharge you until we know you are going to be taken care of at home. You can’t handle this by yourself.” Dr. Meed told me as I lay against the hospital bed.
“Doc, all due respect, I can clean and change the bandages myself. There’s not need to worry anyone.” I try to convince him but I can see him not caving.
“You’ve been here for almost 2 days and I am pretty sure you didn’t even tell anyone what happened. You don’t have a place to go to as far as I know. So I will not discharge you until I see someone in person who tells me that they will be there for you. You can be out as early as tomorrow morning.” I watch him say before making his way out of my room. I sigh and close my eyes knowing the repercussions if I make the inevitable call. Thinking strategically of a list of people, I figure out who I am going to call.
As the phone rings, I come up with a script, but it all leaves my head when the voice on the other end answers. “What do I owe this pleasure, Y/N?”
“Hey, O’Hara, just wondering what you are up to tomorrow?”
“Planning on getting a coffee and furniture shop for the apartment. Want to join? I haven’t seen you since our game a few days ago.”
“I would love to, but I have a favor to ask you.”
“No, you can’t drive my car or go to the animal shelter. You remember how emotional you got leaving the animals behind.”
She’s not exaggerating and I laugh at the memories. “No, Kel, I actually need you to pick me up.”
“Obviously dummy. You don’t have a car,”
“From a different location.”
“So secretive. Where is this location I am picking you up from?” She asks, fully curious as if I am giving her tea.
“The hospital downtown.”
“Y/N… why would I be picking you up from there?” I pick at the blanket laying on top of me.
“Something happened and I ended up here but I am okay. I promise. They just won’t discharge me without confirming someone can come pick me up and care for me.”
“Y/N!!! Why didn’t you call me sooner? What happened? You know what, I am on the way. We will talk.” She frantically yells on the phone before hanging up. I close my eyes hoping to get some shut eye before she storms in here. I groan as I hear my phone constantly vibrate and see messages from both my Gotham FC teammates and USWNT asking what happened and if I am okay…I’m going to kill O’Hara.
A half hour passes and soon enough not only is Kelley coming through my door but Kristie, Ali, and Sonnet.
“What happened?!” Ali asks, approaching carefully looking at any damage she might find.
“I’m okay. My apartment caught fire and I got burnt in the process, nothing crazy.” I act as if everything is fine.
“Nothing crazy?! Y/N, you have burns!” O’Hara whisper yells.
“Wait, Y/N, when was this?” Kristie observed knowing well enough I hate bothering people.
I bite my tongue and whisper, “2 days.” That’s when all hell broke loose.
The hospital room was filled with a cacophony of concerned voices as Ali, Kristie, Sonnet, and Kelley vented their anger and frustration at the situation. I couldn't help but wince at the onslaught of their emotions, but their presence meant the world to me. They were like a protective shield, ready to battle any adversity, even against their teammate's stubbornness.
"Y/N, how could you not tell us?" Ali's eyes blazed with intensity, a reflection of her passion on the soccer field. "We're your teammates, your friends. You can't just hide something like this."
Sonnet's voice, though calmer, was no less concerned. "And now you're telling us it's 'nothing crazy' when you have burns from a house fire? But two days in a hospital is not nothing.”
As we continue going back and forth, Dr. Meed, returned to my room with a surprised look on his face. He had probably expected a more difficult situation based on our previous conversation.
"Y/N, it looks like you have a support system in place," he remarked, a hint of approval in his voice.
I nodded, feeling grateful for the incredible people who had come to my aid. "Yes, doctor. They're going to make sure I'm taken care of."
Dr. Meed assessed the room, noting the presence of Kelley, Ali, Kristie, and Sonnet. "Well, I believe we can arrange for your discharge tonight if you got this team to care for you. I can have the nurses prepare your medications and instructions. You'll need to follow up with your primary care physician within a week."
My heart swelled with relief at the news. I had been eager to leave the sterile environment of the hospital.
"Thank you, doctor," I said, genuinely appreciative.
Dr. Meed nodded and started discussing my care instructions with the group. They listened attentively, taking notes and asking questions to ensure they were fully prepared.
Kelley stepped forward and shook the doctor's hand. "We've got it from here, doc. Thanks for taking care of her."
The doctor smiled, his demeanor much lighter now. "You're welcome. And you take care of yourself, Y/N."
… … … … … … … … … … … …
Kelley left me no choice but to move into her apartment until I recovered and since Sonnet was visiting her, they figured two pairs of eyes and hands were better than one when it came to me. They had a routine set from the moment I left the hospital and today is a new day. Teammates have been stopping by and visiting. I laughed and smiled through every encounter after I got a talking to about hiding my injuries.
“Is Y/N getting a little tired?” Lynn said as I seem to be drifting off.
“Seems like it. She has had a long first day out of the hospital.” Kelley says and excuses the company in the room and says goodbyes to them and I mutter a goodbye as well. As they leave, Sonnet gets a new set of bandages ready for my legs as Kelley gets my antibiotics and pain meds.
Sonnet carefully peeled off the old bandages, her touch delicate but precise. The adhesive clung to my skin, making it an uncomfortable experience. As she pulled the bandages away, my breath caught in my throat, and I bit down on my lower lip to stifle any cries of pain. I could feel the slight tug and sting as the bandages left my raw, sensitive skin.
Kelley, sitting by my side, offered an empathetic smile. "We're almost through this part, Y/N," she assured me, her fingers lightly tracing circles on my forearm.
Sonnet continued her work, unwrapping each bandage with the utmost care. Her face was a mix of concentration and sympathy as she revealed the burns on my legs. When the fresh bandages came into contact with my wounded skin, a sharp wave of pain coursed through me, causing me to clench my fists tightly.
"Easy, Y/N," Kelley murmured soothingly, her hand slipping into mine and offering a reassuring squeeze. "You're doing great."
Sonnet nodded in agreement, her expression filled with understanding. "We're trying to be as gentle as possible, but I know it's still painful. Just a bit more, okay?"
I mustered a nod, grateful for their presence. The pain was a reminder of the challenging journey I was on, but the unwavering support of my teammates made it bearable. Sonnet continued her task, her movements swift and precise.
Once the bandage change was complete, Kelley handed me the antibiotics and pain medications. She watched me closely as I swallowed the pills, her eyes filled with a mixture of concern and care.
As I leaned back against the pillows, Kelley and Sonnet took their seats beside me.
Fatigue threatened to overtake me, I clenched my eyes shut, resisting the pull of sleep. I knew that once I closed my eyes, the nightmares would return, vivid and tormenting. The darkness had become my enemy, and my reluctance to face it was exhausting.
Kelley noticed my struggle and squeezed my shoulder gently. "Y/N, you need to get some rest," she whispered, her voice filled with concern.
I nodded, my lips forming a weak smile. "I know, Kel. It's just... the nightmares. I can't handle them."
Sonnet shifted closer, her touch soft and reassuring. "We won’t leave your side, Y/N.”
Despite their comforting words, the fear of what awaited in my dreams persisted. The mere thought of reliving the traumatic experience made my heart race. I bit my lip, fighting back the anxiety that threatened to consume me.
Kelley's fingers brushed a strand of hair from my forehead, and her gaze met mine. "Y/N, you're not alone in this. We'll be here to wake you up if those nightmares come knocking. But you need sleep, okay? You've been through so much."
I nodded, my eyes heavy with exhaustion. The room seemed to blur as my eyelids drooped. Sonnet's hand still rested on my knee, and she leaned in, her voice a soothing lullaby. "Close your eyes, Y/N.”
As much as I resisted, I couldn't hold onto consciousness any longer. My eyes closed, and I was plunged into the unsettling abyss of sleep.

Round of 16 | Kelley O'Hara x Reader
Tumblr media
summary: kelley misses the penalty
warnings: none
word count: 1.1k
a/n: need an outlet after that disaster of a match and KO's one of the very first footy players i looked up to and i cannot handle that she missed that pk so here's something 🥹
♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦
Ever since Kelley was subbed on, I was begging it would not get to a point where she has to kick the penalty. But here she was now, counting her steps for her run-up. I was whispering words of encouragement, knowing that Kelley doesn’t like it when the crowd was loud.
Closing my eyes, I was begging and praying that she makes her penalty. With one last prayer, I opened my eyes, seeing Kelley swing her right foot back; the ball making contact with her foot. It looked like it would go in, but with the curve of her kick, it hit the post instead. I can’t believe it. Kelley missed her penalty.
There were a lot of things on my bingo card, but Kelley missing her penalty was not one of them. She was calm and collected before she took the kick, but the physics behind it simply beat her. I looked at her sister beside me, tears welling my eyes because I knew that if the Swede makes her kick, it would all be over. I felt sick to my stomach.
Erin placed a hand over my shoulders, comforting me, knowing I never want to see my fiancee crying, especially because of major tournaments. Kelley always played her heart out, even when she is on the bench; she always supports her teammates, sending motivation their way. She has been doubting herself if she would make the World Cup for the past couple of months, and I knew that the missed penalty kick would only make it worse. She’s the strongest person I knew, but she’s just a person too.
As the VAR check ended and the referee blew her whistle, indicating Sweden’s win, I knew Kelley would blame herself. She was walking around her teammates, comforting them. She was holding back her tears because, for her, she was a veteran, someone that the kids could count on. She didn't want to show them weakness. I saw a few tears escape her eyes, but she was quick to wipe them away. As she gathered with her teammates for one final huddle this World Cup, I cannot help but think about the aftermath of this game.
“You think she’ll be fine?” I asked Erin beside me. She looked at me and sent me a reassuring smile.
“Of course, she would. You’re by her side.” I smiled back at Erin and thought of ways how to make Kelley feel better after this tournament.
After their huddle, Kelley and some of her teammates immediately went to the stands looking for their family. Erin and their parents nudged me and encouraged me to be the one who goes down the front of the stands. Servando and Charlie were beside me, Charlie already reaching out for her mom who was already in front of her. I sent a little smile towards Alex hoping it sends a little comfort her way. I turned my eyes back into the field and saw Kelley approaching. I immediately opened my arms and reached out to her because I knew she always found comfort in those hugs. No words were said for a couple of minutes as she continued hugging me.
“I’m sorry.” I heard her say a little sob escaping her throat. My heart felt like it was crushed into a thousand pieces hearing her sob like that.
“It’s not your fault baby. You did your best. I know.”
“But I could’ve done more. I could’ve buried that penalty. I wasn’t good enough. I’m sorry.”
Kelley's words hung heavy in the air as I held her tightly, providing a comforting presence amidst the turmoil of her emotions. I gently lifted her chin, making her look into my eyes, filled with sincerity and love.
"Kels, listen," I said softly, my voice carrying the weight of my genuine conviction. "You are an incredible athlete, a remarkable person, and a source of inspiration for so many, including me. One missed penalty doesn't define you, doesn't define your career, and it certainly doesn't diminish the passion and effort you've poured into this sport."
She sniffled, her eyes still glistening with tears, but she was now looking at me, absorbing my words.
"You've faced challenges before, and you've always risen above them," I continued. "This setback doesn't erase all the victories you've contributed to this team, and the memories you've created on the field. Remember the love you have for this sport, the love that has driven you to be the remarkable player you are today."
Kelley's grip on me tightened, and she nodded slowly as if beginning to find solace in my words.
"I know you're disappointed," I said, my voice tender. "But you're not alone in this journey. Your teammates, your family, and I—we're all here to support you, no matter what. And I have no doubt that you will come back even stronger from this."
“But what if this was my last major tournament?” She asked, fully aware that her clock was ticking with the sport she loved.
“That’s not the Kelley I know. The Kelley I know would tell me that she would give everything to be there at the next one. But if this was your last, you still have the NWSL season. I’d like to see you give them hell before hanging your boots up.” I told her with a small smile, trying to inject a bit of humor into the moment.
Kelley managed a faint smile in return, her tears gradually subsiding. "You always know how to make me smile, even in the toughest times," she said, her voice still quivering slightly.
"You're not alone in this, babe," I reassured her. "Your journey is shared by everyone who loves and admires you. Remember that your strength goes beyond what happens on the field. You've touched so many lives and inspired countless people."
As the stadium began to empty out and the players started heading back to the locker room, Kelley and I stayed embraced, finding comfort in each other's presence. The path ahead might be uncertain, but one thing was clear: Kelley was more than just a player on the field. She was a role model, a leader, and above all, she was loved.
In the days that followed, Kelley gradually found her footing again. She leaned on her support system, her teammates, her family, and me. She channeled her disappointment into determination, using it as fuel to push herself even harder in her training. The NWSL became a new focus, a chance for her to continue showcasing her skills and passion for the game.
And as time passed, Kelley's perspective began to shift. She realized that her worth wasn't solely determined by one missed penalty. She saw the bigger picture—the impact she had on and off the field, the resilience she had shown throughout her career, and the legacy she was building for herself.

the law of seat partners
alrighty so ya gurl had a dream about eddie last night and here i am trying to use that to base the following something off of.
part 2
cw/tw: eddie munson being a slightly touchy precious bean. a slight bit of angst. feeling left out/mentions of feeling unwanted if you squint. otherwise, none that i could think of, just my silly brain fluff. if you find something else, please let me know yaaa. no mentions of y/n.
summary: you're going on a high school field trip with your friends. and thankfully, a long haired metalhead is also there to keep you company and ease the pain of being around obnoxious children.
side note: this is literally the first fic thing i've written in literal YEARS (also in English) and first ever time writing for Eddie, so bare with me here, i've gotten quite rusty i guess so i truly apologise if it's rather bad. don't mind me and please reblog/leave me comments if you did enjoy this pure fluff something!
------
It was the sunniest May morning the town of Hawkins had ever seen. The bluest sky above the forests and fields, downtown, the infamous trailer park and the parking lot of Hawkins High.
You sighed as you placed your car in parking mode before opening the door and sliding out, just so you could grab your belongings - a rather big bag filled with all sorts of items that you were certain you were going to need for surviving the next week - out from the backseat.
A field trip with students with an age range from bloody twelve to the wise years of nineteen, well, twenty to be specific, was on your agenda in the almost last month of your last year of high school, and thankfully you were not gonna be stuck in some forest next to Lake Superior alone by yourself.
Being forced to exist around screaming twelve year olds who were about to enter puberty was your least favourite part of the whole expedition, which made the presence of your group of best friends so much more valuable.
There was one person whose attendance you'd specifically been hoping for. And yes, of course you and your friends had been talking about the trip months ago so it would be clear who would join in the fun, but with Eddie's tendency to be flaky when it came to decisions like this, one could never be fully sure.
I mean yeah, certainly you were looking forward to spending this week by the lakeside with Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan and the younger kids in freshmen year, but nothing could make the thought of being stuck with a group of middle schoolers and teachers more bearable than being stuck there with the one guy who you - to put it frankly - had a thing for.
You couldn't really say that you were as close with him as you were with Steve or Robin, you never really spent time with him outside of the group hangouts. But that didn't mean that there was any weird distance between the two of you when the lucky occasion of hanging out did come around.
Eddie Munson was a metalhead. Through and through. Tough exterior, soft baby cow personality but could turn stone cold when necessary. When people tried to shame him for being different, for example.
You were also very certain that his love language was touch, based on the times he would throw his arm around you when casually walking you to your next class or the way he would playfully wrestle Dustin or Lucas in the cafeteria during lunch break to show he didn't hate them.
"Oh my god, I'm so glad you're here!"
Max had spotted you in line and apparently didn't feel too much guilt for cutting it just so she could hop on the bus together with you.
You mumbled the same thing back to her, wondering if you were the first or last ones of your party to go through Miss Kelley's check-in.
She greeted the both of you with a toothy smile before she turned her focus onto the sheet with students' names. Your eyes wandered over the rows of seat pairs, and since you had arrived at the parking lot, let's say not late but also not early either, most of them were already filled with loudly chatting kids.
"Hopefully the others saved us a seat", you heard Max say from in front of you. Unlike you, she already had a pre-determined seat buddy. "Oh please, it's obvious that Sinclair kept one for you", you quipped back, silently hoping you could potentially be sitting next to Steve or at least Robin.
And even if Eddie was going to join you, he'd probably be sitting with Chrissy. Or Gareth.
"That might be true, but I'm sure you'll be just fine with where you'll end up."
Max stepped further into the bus after she gave you a wink and a slight grin.
Did she know more than you?
Good boy Steve was rather easy for you to spot. With that amount of hair peeking out above the sea of headrests? No wonder. In fact, most of your friends were already seated further in the back of the one-story bus.
A slight hint of disappointment clouded your brain at the sight of Steve and Robin sharing a seat pair, with Nancy and Jonathan right behind them. Your fear of being the one left out and behind was creeping out from the back of your mind, acting up.
People had always been kind enough to endure you, but no one ever really chose you. Or at least made you feel like you belonged.
Lucas indeed had the seat next to him reserved for Max, to where she continued her strut down the aisle to plop down, while Dustin and Will had agreed to share theirs.
Surprising they made it out of bed this early.
You took a few more steps towards the back of the bus. A wide grinned Erica was seated amongst her friends in the center of the very back row, your eyes scanning the seats until they landed on the wild dark mane of a certain metalhead, who was occupying the pair of seats right behind the stairs down to the back door.
He was practically lying in the window seat. Head resting against the glass, staring out to observe the students who hadn't set foot onto the bus yet. Parents who were lecturing their kids one last time before letting them go.
Was he daydreaming? What could possibly be going on in that pretty head of his?
Your heart jumped and your stomach fluttered when he shifted his gaze to the aisle where you were standing. The widest smile spread over his face at the sight of you, and you hated to admit to yourself that it did not leave you unaffected.
The seat next to him was empty.
It took Eddie a few seconds to remember what his initial plan was. As if something in his brain clicked, as if a bolt of lightning had hit him, he straightened himself and got up.
"Uh hi there. I, uh, kept you a seat if, uh, in case you'd like to sit with me."
Eddie the freak Munson. Had thought of and would be willing to sharing seats for a 10 hour bus ride. With you, of all people?
In the light of the sunlight flooded bus, you could see his cheeks adjusting to the colour of your own. Flushed pink.
And you just couldn't help the wide grin that was pulling at the corners of your mouth.
Now both of you were standing in the aisle facing each other.
"I would love to, Munson."
Quickly you took out the essentials for the journey from your bag: headphones and your walkman, your tape collection that you wouldn't leave the house without, a novel, some water and a tote bag with your carefully selected snacks.
Eddie waited patiently for you to get comfortable, standing there in the aisle in his signature leather jacket and denim dio vest, while leaning against the backrest of his own seat, watching your every move.
Once you swung yourself around into your seat, Eddie plopped down next to you with an equally wide grin plastered across his face while pointing his ringed index finger at the snack bag.
"You know, you're gonna have to share those with me."
You turned your head around to face him, eyebrow raised.
His chocolate brown doe eyes were so so softly looking at you. If you didn't know better they'd melt you on the spot.
"Oh really, do I?"
"Yeah, it's the unspoken yet official law of seat partners, sweetheart."
You chuckled at his silliness and the pet name, the nervousness which you had gotten from the thought of him very obviously thinking of you when it came to the decision of who to sit next to, all gone.
He wanted to be physically close to you.
He wanted to spend that time on the bus around you.
He chose you.
After Steve, Robin and all the others from your group had acknowledged your presence as well with genuine smiles, and the last few kids had found their seats, it was time to leave Hawkins.
The bus hit the highway towards Chicago pretty soon after departure.
Eddie let you sit in the window seat, which eventually led to him conveniently using your shoulder as a pillow. And no, you didn't mind the weight. It was Eddie.
Hell, you were having a hard time keeping yourself from wrapping your arms around him to pull him closer.
"Does this also fall under the law of seat partners?", you asked curiously, placing a hand on Eddie's head and slightly scratching his scalp.
The only thing you got in return was a satisfied, sleepy "mhm" and a squeeze and rub of his warm hand over your thigh, but it was enough for your mind to drift off, wondering which other of Eddie's love languages and further details of his ridiculous seat partner law you'd come to discover on this trip.

Alright bookie punk x mcintyre reader where punk is recovering from the mauling and drews just trying to maul reader while punks like “hey!>:( nuhuh..”
WHAT WE GOT NOW
(cm punk x mcintyre!gn!reader- sequel to I’m nothing, I’m nowhere)
Your world was falling apart around you. Your brother was going insane and now that he knew about your relationship with his literal biggest enemy, he refused to talk to you in any setting whatsoever. Even when you threatened to tell your mom he was being mean, he just shook his head and scoffed at you, continuing down the hallway. As much as you hated him for what he did to Phil, he was still your brother and you wished he was just a little bit more mentally stable.
You weren’t able to get the bracelet he stole from Phil either, the one that had your name as well as Phil’s very beloved dog's name. He was always either wearing it, which was kinda weird, or was hiding it somewhere very secretive during his matches. Much like the one he had won last week while you were out visiting the love of your life he had manhandled and left bloody in front of you. Both of the Mcintyres, going to money in the bank! The situation is great, just not the circumstances.
Either way, you hoped he wouldn’t show up on Smackdown again. You managed to sneak Phil into your locker room with you and it was just unnecessary for them to keep up the whole fighting thing when Phil just recovered from getting jumped the last time. You showed up extra early just in case, so you’d been there for about an hour before the show started. And of course, like everything else, it all went to shit in an instant. Not even ten minutes into the show, Drew saunters on out with a microphone and that damn bracelet on his wrist.
“Jesus Christ. Can’t I just have one thing?” You muttered, slumping further into the grungey couch. Phil gives your bicep a little rub with the hand around your shoulder while he chuckles at your side. “For the love of God, please just stay back here.”
“I will, I will. Promise. Drew will have no clue I’m even here.” He comforted you to the best of his ability with a kiss to your temple while you grumbled and shoved your way further into his shoulder. Unfortunately, your cuddles are interrupted by a swift knock on the door, which was done for clearly no reason as the door swung open with a call of your name right afterward.
“We’d like to talk to you about the situ- oh.” Cathy Kelley, a great friend of yours as well as Raw’s interviewer, was used to you being fine with her barging in and had told the man behind her, cameras equipped, that it would be fine to start on the way to your room to get all of the nonsense out of the way before they could talk to you. Now she stood with wide eyes and the microphone frozen in place below her lips as your hand came to shove the camera lens away from its perfect view of Punk. “Oh my god, I'm so sorry.” She mutters out quickly, before turning and shoving the cameraman out the door in front of her.
You follow the two out the door, resting your back against the door as if they would try to shove the camera back at Phil.
“What’d you, uh, what’d you want?” You mutter breathily, taken away at how bad the night was going. The worst it probably could have been, actually. Kathy stops jumbling apologies out and pauses before gathering herself and starting to ask her interview questions.
“You, um, you won your qualifying match which…uh, which qualified you for the Money in the Bank match. Now that the rest of your opponents have been confirmed, how are you feeling?” She was clearly jumbled by the incident and kept looking at the door behind you before catching herself and looking back into your eyes.
“Uh, I’m a little nervous, but thats just part of it all. I’m just as excited, and I have hope, I always do. I’ve needed a win like this for quite some time and the briefcase is pretty cool too, so.” Hopefully, at least one Mcintyre could bring something home. You didn’t really want to mention Drew when they just caught Phil in your lockeroom and he was on a psychotic rampage though.
“Good, good. Great. Um…” She seemed a little hesitant to ask the next question, her gaze dropping to the floor for a moment. “If you don’t mind me asking, with everything going on, how do you feel about your brother also qualifying?”
“Oh. Well, um,” You knew why she was hesitant now. Your voice rose as you copied her earlier actions in looking to the floor, fingers fiddling together as your eyebrows furrowed. “Uhm, I love Drew. There won't even be a time when I don’t, even if he's been a bit…y’know.” You looked back up with an airy, false laugh that only adds to the tension. “He will always be my brother and even if we aren’t agreeing at the moment, I hope he knows that I love him and that I believe he deserves a win like this too. I hope he feels the same way about me.”
“I’m sure he does,” Kathy tries to reassure you. “With Money in the Bank being tomorrow, have you been prepared-“ This time Kathy hasn’t cut herself off but rather, your hulking, dumbass brother who has shoved past the cameraman and Kathy is now face to face with you and seems to be really fucking mad.
“Drew, please-“ You hold your hands up, exhaustion seeping from you.
“Let me in there,” He points to the door behind you, eyes piercing through yours as he calls your name.
“You haven’t spoken to me in days, and now you are? Because he’s here?” God, you sounded so feeble. You have built yourself up so much and here comes Drew to topple it all down in about a week. He said nothing but your name in the same, cautionary tone as he inches closer to you. “You already hurt him enough.” His hand moves up to grasp your forearm, the one Phil had been tracing shapes into earlier.
“I lost in front of our family, our home because of him! You’re supposed to be next to me in this!” He roars in your face, his grip tightening.
“D, c’mon, you’re hurting me. Please-let’s just-D, let go please.” You’d never felt smaller in the presence of Drew, ever. You had curled yourself up against the door, shoulders hunched in on themselves while he stood above you in a way that made you feel like a child again. Like you were trying to hide from your father's gaze under the table after you’d broken your mother's china plate. Drew always made you feel stronger; like you could do anything with him by your side. He wasn’t even on your side anymore.
Luckily, in your distress, Sheamus had jogged over after hearing Drew’s yelling and had managed to get him a little farther away so he wasn’t crowding over you. The door behind you flung open and you stumbled back into Phil’s front while Sheamus pushed Drew back. At least he was able to keep him back until Drew noticed you in Punk’s hold.
“You dirty, little bastard! He lunged forward with his cry, managing to get away from Sheamus for just a second and going straight for Punk. Phil tried to shove you out of the way, but you held onto him, grasping to the thin shirt clinging to his back, and prayed with eyes squeezed shut that maybe Drew would stop if you were in the way.
Even with your tight grasp on him, Drew manages to pull you from Phil and send you headfirst into the metal corner of a road case and you’re out in seconds. You're only out for a few seconds and dizzily wake up to Punk pushing his hoodie behind your head while you lay on the floor, watching countless staff members drag your brother away. You call out for him in your daze, confused about why they’re taking him away.
But your mind clears, and you're forced to know that your brother did this to you, forced to know that he doesn’t even seem to care. Forced to watch as your hero and your best friend is escorted away because he just gave you a concussion, forced to forfeit the one damn thing you had, the one damn thing you were grasping and trying so hard for, forced to give up your Money in the Bank spot.
Tumblr media

Warnings: Mention of suicidal thoughts
So, anyone who wants to hear it, here’s how I think the story of Batman and all of his Robins should have gone in terms of just writing it like it was story. Mind you, most of the basic elements of the Robin's backstory are gonna obviously be in here, just fyi if you just see things that you already know. I am would love to hear what you guys think, too!
Now, quick disclaimer, I’m just going to go with the four main robins only because I know them best— other robins such as Carrie Kelley or Stephanie Brown I’m not as familiar with. I hope to one day to also extend this to other sidekick/people Batman works with, but that’ll be a separate post. Anyway, one more warning; this will be long.
Starting off with the death of Dick Grayson’s parents. Bruce sees them die, and instantly makes the connection between himself and newly orphaned Dick Grayson. It's one of the main reasons why Bruce takes him in. After all, he was once a boy so riddled by trauma and pain that he thought (at least in the beginning of being Batman) that violence and vengeance was the only answer. So, when Bruce adopts Dick, he doesn't want him to go down the same path. This is where I want to the conflict between Bruce trying to be not only a better person for Dick, but to also attempt to hold onto the feelings that drive his vengeance. Because, the way I would write it, Bruce is still pretty new at being Batman, he hasn't yet realized his "mission" isn't just getting his revenge on Gotham's criminals—It's creating a better life for the people there so they, too, wouldn't have to go through what he did. Though, another small disclaimer, I'll admit that I am missing a few pieces there.
Back to the main topic, if I lose you at all blame the ADHD, so Dick comes to Wayne Manor where he's angry at the world for what happened to his parents. Bruce, who is probably in his mid-twenties at this point, has no clue how to be a parent. He doesn't want to overstep his boundaries with Dick, but the boy is increasingly becoming angrier and angrier. The idea of Dick becoming anything like Bruce, in terms of being Batman, doesn't cross his mind because, unlike some DC writers, I don't think Bruce was actively looking for child soldiers.
Anyway, there is already the underlying push and pull factor between the two, which I think will probably define the rest of their relationship. And, like mentioned before, this is where I would want Bruce to try to be a better Batman, relying not on violence because he can see how it's affects others.
To further explain in a round-a-bout way, young Dick and Bruce are essentially mirrors of each other. And, I don't think Bruce entirely approves of how he, meaning Bruce himself, acts. Hence, why he begins to change Batman from a vengeful, violent vigilante (say that five times fast) to a hopeful knight of Gotham. Dick is his driving force of change, as well as the other Robins. So, when Bruce finally realized that Dick won't simply stand by and be the little boy that he should be—He gives him a chance to be something better than Batman. To begin his career as a vigilante as a hero with hope rather than rage. He's reluctant to do it, because he loves Dick. (Granted, Dick Grayson's Robin is absolutely filled with rage, but, in my story, Bruce is trying to lead from example)
And, just to move through the rest of it quickly so this isn't the same word count as the fucking constitution, as Dick grows so does Bruce. Batman is hopeful, and Bruce is gaining a family. Granted, it's small, but it's there. Along the way, he makes friends. Dick is the reason for this, though some credit can be given to Bruce himself. Despite being angry, Dick will always be outgoing, it's one of the best traits his parents passed onto him—And, he passes that along to Bruce. He begins to learn how a family functions, even if it's a hint of it. he is starting to realize there is more beyond the mask.
So, when the relationship between them starts to break down I would want to see that opposite reaction in the other relationships around Bruce. Because, before Dick, it was isolation, facade, anger, and Batman. Now, when he leaves, it's just that again.
I want to see this internal struggle between Dick letting Bruce be his father and letting him be his partner. Because, despite being similar, one holds more resent than the other. Dick can't stand that Bruce is trying to parent him because he had family, and now they were gone. He doesn't want to have a replacement family nor does he want to lose it again. With Batman, there comes the difference between ideologies. As Bruce strays away from untethered violence into something a bit more calmer, Dick is still filled with that same anger, causing a clash.
Eventually, it hits a breaking point when Bruce takes away the one thing that Dick himself created, the rope in their game of tug of war breaks. Dick leaves, Bruce isolates, and it seems that Gotham once again dissolves back to how it used to be.
Then, Bruce meets Jason. And, it's not like with Dick. It's different. Jason wasn't filled with anger or lost hope, he was a happy, hopeful kid. He wanted to be a kid, and Robin just happened to be a good fit for him, too. So, this is really when Bruce becomes Bruce not Batman. Bruce had gotten the taste of that with Dick, but Batman always seemed to have some tug in their relationship. At this point, I want to see Bruce realize just how much that affected his relationship with Dick and feel the remorse over that. I would want to see Bruce reach out to his eldest son, and be rejected because Dick is still wounded. In fact, Dick himself, despite legally being an adult, is a kid. He's hurt over Bruce essentially replacing, in his eyes, and finding a "better" son. This drives in harder the idea of Bruce wanting to not stop being Batman, but put more of an effort of just being Dad/Bruce. Again, Bruce is learning.
Back to Jason. Jason, in this story, would be one of the first Robins to really experience Bruce as a father. And, that turns the relationship of Batman and Robin less into a partnership and more into a father-son duo without one trying to control the other as much. Yet, there's still the distinction of just how different Jason is compared to Dick and Bruce. Jason never had a family, not a stable one at least, nor did he grow up financially stable. Jason was essentially the average poor Gotham kid, which did kick up a lot of backlash between the two. Yet, nothing too serious. In fact, I feel like Bruce would probably start being a lot more lenient with Jason at the beginning with just how easy he was as not just a sidekick but as a son.
And this is what I believe would lead to Jason leaning more into his violent tendencies compared to Dick. Now, before the torches do light, hear me out. I do not think Jason is an outwardly or inherently a violent kid. I think with the innate sense of justice Bruce would instill all of his Robins combined with being exposed to violence socially and now personally, it would lead to Jason seeing some flaws in Batman's logic. He might sense that since one person continuously abuses the system and gets away with hurting/murdering people that it might be better to eliminate the problem all together. This idea growing on Jason would lead to the death of Felipe, causing a huge and sudden rift between the two. Ultimately leading to Jason being kidnapped, tortured and killed all in pursuit of finding someone who might accept him despite Bruce never having rejected for what he did.
Eventually, after Jason died Bruce is in this hole of regret, remorse, and overall probably a bit suicidal. Afterall, he lost his son and feels like because he let Robin be that it caused Jason's death. So, when Dick re-enters the picture with Tim Drake, a boy finding and wanting to be Robin, I can see Bruce absolutely lashing out in grieving anger. Because, again being Robin had killed his son and he would be damned if that happened again. Yet, Tim being Tim was determined to show Bruce that it wasn't him or Robin that killed Jason—It was a mad man and a woman who deceived her son. Kind of playing into the idea it's not Robin who makes the boy, it's the boy who makes Robin. Not only that, but Tim is adamant that he will be Robin to not only prove this but also to show that Robin and Batman are two sides of the same coin. Ultimately, reverting back to Batman and Robin being a partnership instead of that father-son duo. At least, at first.
Bruce is protective of Tim, but there is definitely the drift in their relationship. Because, as we all know Tim's story, he still had parents when he became Robin so there was no need to fill that son position, for the lack of a better term, Jason had left behind. So, in a sense, I can see this relationship between the two starting off more like a boss and worker. Yet, as they continue to work together, Bruce would probably learn that Tim is making Robin, not the other way around. At this point, also, I can see Dick be more involved and bridge that gap with his father after seeing just how deeply he cares for his children.
Then, Tim's parents are murdered and I think the guilt would come back to Bruce, albeit a bit less extreme. He would feel responsible for putting this child in this situation and want to take him out of that. Yet, Tim is pushing against not only as a partner but as a potential son that which would definitely affect their relationship. This is why I personally would think that Tim and Bruce's relationship would be the most strained out of all of the Robins, though the two do share a deep connection it's just not as serious, again lack of a good term, as the other's.
Because I'm slowly getting more tired, I am going to try my best to get through Damian's. Again, guys, feel free to ask questions because this is just surface level stuff. If anyone makes it to this point, anyway or even reads this lol.
Alright, so just jumping into Damian, I think Bruce would treat Damian as he would have Jason. Unlike all the other Robins there's already a establish connection between the two before they even meet. I mean, Damian is literally his bio son and Damian is told that all throughout his life, so it would be a more of a one-sided connection at first then it grow on Bruce. Damian doesn't need training unlike all of his other predecessor's, the boy's already pre-programmed with skill. The major issue would be honing in on the assassination part of Damian and essentially Bruce's trauma from his other children.
So, right from the gate, I think Bruce would try to be a father to his Damian rather just Batman. And, I think Damian, at first, would not respond well to that. For his whole life, it's just been fight or die, nothing in-between. I think it would be interesting to see Bruce fall back into being a father, which, at this point, he already would have been since Dick returned and Tim and him slowly got closer. I think Bruce would be tougher on Damian simply because of how worried he would be for his safety and well-being. Bruce knows the League of Assassins and how it is absolutely no place for a young boy. So, Bruce would try to create normalcy like he did with Jason, but also be tough like he was on Dick. Overall, I think there's the same push and pull with them like with Bruce and Dick, but not to the extent as it was. After all, I would like to think at this point, Alfred convinced Bruce to go to therapy. Though, it can be said the two would also share a close personal relationship like Jason and Bruce.
I would go on, but, right now, I have a huge headache, so might edit later.
That's pretty much it guys. I know there might be some contradictions in this, but, to be fairly honest, this is just a streamline of thought. I think I read over this once, so any inconsistencies are just left. Please ignore. Or point out. It's pretty much either or. Again, I would love to know what you guys think. Hope you enjoyed this rant. I am going to bed now. ❤️❤️❤️

hii linden! i kinda needed some help
so, i wanna read some comics based on:
donna troy, cass cain and wally west
but i have literally noo idea where to start 😭 ofc ik the basics but i was hoping you could suggest something?? thank you so much if you do and have a wonderful day!
yeah i gotchu!! those are literally my besties lol i can definitely give you some recs. i'm not sure what you'd consider to be the basics so i'll just include all the big stuff to be thorough
donna troy:
first rec is always new teen titans as you probably would have guessed lol. it is a very long and arduous undertaking though so some more specific recs would be vol. 1 #38, #50, vol. 2 #18-21, #50-55.
i've gone into more detail on her appearances in darkstars, green lantern etc but honestly though they are important to understand the status quo & what was going on with her, i don't think they're very good comics to just read for donna. my next rec would probably be wonder woman (1987) #126-136, which is a VERY important arc for her. it goes into more detail on her origin, reconnects her to the amazons & diana, and i believe is where she officially passes on the wonder girl mantle to cassie. and she appears frequently throughout the rest of that wonder woman run after the arc if you want to continue on!
titans (1999) is another big one, beloved beloved comic. lots of good donna content.
titans/young justice: graduation day #1-3 YIKES! unfortunately pivotal to her story lol
dc special: the return of donna troy look. i know I gush about this comic like it's my full time job. but honest to god i adore it to pieces, it's a love letter to donna and her history and it's one of my favorite comics of all time despite only being 4 issues. begging everyone on the planet to read it rn
cass cain:
cass was famously introduced in batman: no man's land! now that event is very very long so it might seem tempting to skip straight to bg 2000 but i'm here to tell you to not do that. if nothing else it is PIVOTAL that you read her introduction issues (mark of cain pts 1 & 2), batman #567 and detective comics #734. probably the coolest most metal introduction of any comics character in history, it's that good. if you're interested in cass's role in nml but not the whole thing, here's a list of her appearances:
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #120
Azrael: Agent of the Bat #56
Azrael: Agent of the Bat #57
Batman Chronicles #18
Batman #569
Detective Comics #738
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #124
Batman: Shadow of the Bat #92
Detective Comics #739
Batman: Shadow of the Bat #93
Azrael: Agent of the Bat #60-61
Detective Comics #741
i think nml is essential reading for cass and it makes me sad that a lot of people skip it.
next is, of course, batgirl (2000). it's her character bible it's god's (kelley puckett's) gift to mankind it's maybe the best comic ever written. what more can i say
she's also a fixture in gotham knights! cass was a part of most batfamily events in the early 2000s, ex. officer down, joker's last laugh, war games, bruce wayne: murderer? and bruce wayne: fugitive. it's pretty easy to find them since they mostly cross over with her batgirl run.
detective comics #790 is only one issue but it's. ough.
aaaaand then we get into the evil cass arc stuff which just sucks and isn't worth it. she's pretty much written out of the story for a while, other than red robin #17 & #25.
she does show up as black bat in gates of gotham! i really enjoy that story, and it's only 5 issues.
that gets us to new52. i would completely disregard her rebirth and batgirls appearances honestly. she is a part of the current birds of prey ongoing! and while i am not kelly thompson's biggest fan i do think she gets a lot of cool moments and for the most part she's done right.
she is also featured sporadically throughout ram v's gotham nocturne storyline (it started way back in detective comics #1062 if you want to read the whole arc, it's VERY good). i have to give a special shoutout to #1084, which has a backup story that's focused on cass and it legitamately blew my mind. like i couldn't believe my eyes when i was reading it, maybe it's because cass has been done so dirty over the years that anything makes me happy but to get a cass-centric story featuring shiva that cares about her as a character in 2024 was crazy 2 me i will rave about it forever. thank you alex paknadel.
wally west:
the good news is my wally reclist is WAY less complicated. as is predictable for me, pretty much the only wally rec I have is flash volume 2 (1987). it is for all intents and purposes The Story of Wally West tm. it's his character bible it follows him throughout nearly a decade of his life. because it's so long my specific rec would be to read waid's run on it, from #62-142. if you want more context to his life at the time you can start earlier in the comic, i think #31 is a good jumping on point if you want to experience some messner-loebs but not too much messner-loebs lmfao.
he's featured in titans (1999) until about issue #20, iirc. wally is just fated to quit titans teams lol. there is some good stuff with him up until that point though!
that is honestly about all i got until you get to more modern flash comics. after rebirth he's reintroduced in flash vol. 5, and #768-800 is the jeremy adams run.
he's also the main focus in si spurrier's flash vol. 6! aka the current flash ongoing. which... as i have often said, i am a big fan of.
AND THAT’S MY LIST!!! i hope it helped you out at least a little lol!

Hii I don't think you'll see this but can I request a Rebecca welton x reader? Maybe Rebecca and Keeley go to a lesbian bar, and since it's Rebecca's first time she is nervous. Reader can be a bartender or just a regular. Maybe reader buys Rebecca a drink. And Rebecca is touched by the gesture. Rebecca starts to loosen up a bit due to the alcohol. And they (reader and Rebecca) start a conversation and things just take off from their. This can be fluff or smut.
I hope that was helpful 😅
You read my mind anon :)
You look out of place. (Rebecca Welton x Fem reader.) minor NSFW reference
Tumblr media
Rebecca is used to been looked at. Now matter where she goes people gossip about her. Sometimes even to her face. But this is a new kind of anxiety.
"Kelley was this really a good idea? I mean I'm not even sure I like women."
"You keep saying that and yet you wanted to come with me. Listen You can say no if women start flirt with you they'll listen."
Rebecca isn't really scared of the women, she's known she liked women for a while, but to say it out loud and act on it is frankly scary.
She takes a deep breath and keeps walking towards the bar. The music is loud and the women are beautiful, almost goddesses.
it makes Rebecca feel small and unseen. This feels like a terrible idea,
"Hello."
Rebecca jumps in her seat, the voice belongs to a woman now sitting next to her. The woman is she gives younger than Rebecca, She gives Rebecca a knowing smile.
"First time?''
"Am I that obvious?"
"Well, I was much worse my first time."
Rebecca suddenly feels seen, it feels almost nice.
"Thank you"
"For?"
"Talking to me, I'm sure there are more fun girls in here."
she laughs, it's not a mocking laugh.
"I think you seem fun, can I buy you a drink?"
"I'll just take a Pink Gin."
she ushers over the bartender and orders the drinks.2w
"So, if this isn't you're normal night out, why do it?"
"I'm trying to get over my ex-husband."
Rebecca goes off more than she meant to about Rupert and how their marriage ended, the girl listens interested.
"so...I guess I'm starting over now."
"I mean, a lot of us have had relationships with men...which we all regret."
Rebecca feels her drink warming her body and washing away her worries. She keeps drinking and the two keep chatting. the talk goes from men to spots to work to family to sex.
"Yeah well, you should know that toys are always better after you've tried a few."
"Really? How many toys have you tried?"
Rebecca laughs buzzing.
"so many!"
"would you show me them?"
Rebecca stops laughing, her attraction to the woman across from her hits her like a ton of bricks.
"yeah... Listen I know it sounds wild and fast....and it is but would you come home with me? Even just to talk?"
"As friends?"
"As anything you like."
"I don't want to be friends, I find you so alluring Rebecca."
Rebecca leans forward so her breath is on the woman's cheek.
"Then come home with me."
After an Uber ride that takes way too long they walk into Rebecca's rich house. The smell of coconut and green tea hangs in the air.
"Kiss me."
Rebecca's shyness is gone. They kiss on the couch in a slightly drunken blaze of passion. Finally, Rebecca breaks for air.
"Are you really single?''
"Why do you say that?"
"Because you're so beautiful and so passionate, I can't let myself love again if I won't be the only one."
She looks at Rebecca dead serious.
"You'll be the only one."

Not Really Scary - Alex Morgan/Reader
i hope y’all enjoy. i didn’t really show much of how the USWNT sees R, but I hope you still like it.
prompt: If you want maybe one where the USWNT team thinks R is very closed off and intimidating but they find them looking after Charlie and is really a big teddy bear inside. Possibly Alex Morgan/Reader if you can make it work.
warnings: none
words: 1250
Tumblr media
Alex POV
“So, I think it’s definitely interesting that (Y/N)’s here at camp,” Kelley said.
I furrowed my brow at that. I couldn’t imagine why.
“Why? I mean, she’s one of the best forwards in the NWSL right now,” I said. It was true. I had dreaded going against the Angels because of (Y/N). “I mean, you can’t tell me that you didn’t have the Angels games circled on your calendar.”
“I mean, yeah, sure,” Kelley nodded. We both looked where (Y/N) was sitting on her phone. No one else was around her. “But she doesn’t really talk to anyone. I know that Tierna had mentioned that she rarely talked to any of their teammates when they were playing on the youth squads. Plus look at her. She could run one of us over and put us in the hospital.”
Kelley wasn’t wrong about that. It had quickly became clear just how much of a physical player (Y/N) was and it definitely helped her as she almost just pure muscle.
“Has anyone tried to talk to her?” I asked.
“Nope,” Kelley shook her head. “And I pity whoever is her roommate is.”
We both stared at her for a moment longer. I was curious as to what it would be like to play with the forward.
“Where’s Charlie?”
“The kids wanted to watch her,” I said. Kelley looked over at me but I kept my eyes on (Y/N). “I think they’re all trying to sway her so that they can be her favorite aunt.”
“As if they’ll ever take that title from me,” Kelley said.
“Yeah, we’ll see.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked into my room and I was surprised when Charlie ran ahead of me but I found (Y/N) lounging on the bed that I had left free. She looked up from the book she was reading.
“I was curious who I was rooming with,” I said. (Y/N) didn’t really say anything to me. “If Charlie bothers you, just let me know and I’ll take care of her.”
(Y/N) still didn’t say much. I only nodded at that. I pulled a couple of Charlie’s toys out and gave them to her. I made sure that Charlie was okay before standing up.
“I’m going to get a shower, so seriously if Charlie is bothering me, just knock on the door,” I said.
All I got from (Y/N) was a small nod. I nodded my head at that as I grabbed my things to go into the bathroom. I did try to keep my shower short so that I didn’t have to leave Charlie alone with (Y/N) for long. But before I went back out, all I could hear from the room was laughter.
I was surprised when I opened the bathroom I found (Y/N) playing with Charlie. The two didn’t pay me much time until the the bathroom door shut. Once the door did shut, both of them turned their attention to me. Charlie immediately reached out to me. I picked her up before pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“You know, if you ever need someone to babysit, I wouldn’t say no,” (Y/N) said.
I nodded at that but I didn’t really respond as (Y/N) moved to grab a hold of her book again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Y/N) POV
I was surprised when I saw Alex sit down at the same table as me. But I was even more surprised when I realized that Charlie was walking up to my side. I reached down to pick her up once she reached her hands out to me. I looked over the table back at Alex.
“Surprised that you two are sitting with me,” I admitted.
It hadn’t escaped my notice of how most of our teammates had avoided me. I didn’t blame though as I preferred it that way.
“Well, Charlie wouldn’t accept us sitting anywhere else today,” Alex said. I was a little surprised when she pushed the smaller plate across to me, but I didn’t mind. “It seems that Charlie has decided that you’re her favorite person here besides me.”
I grinned at that. I wasn’t too surprised though as I often helped babysit my nieces and nephews while I was in high school.
“You just have to know how to pick up on what they want,” I shrugged. Alex seemed a little surprised by my answer. “I used to babysit all of my nieces and nephews when I was in high school. Of course none of them are toddlers anymore.”
“Ever think about having your own?” Alex asked.
I looked over at her in surprise before looking down at Charlie. It was a fair question.
“I honestly never gave it much thought,” I admitted. I moved Charlie’s fruit closer to her so she could grab a hold of it. “I mean, I would have to adopt or use some kind of alternative. Just never really thought of it in the kind of lifestyle I live.”
“You don’t seem like the kind of person to live a partying lifestyle.”
“I’m not,” I shook my head. Parties weren’t exactly my scene. A quiet night in was more of my style. “I just never want to be the kind of parent my dad was. He was always busy with work and I’m focused on soccer, so...”
“You just haven’t thought of it.”
“I mean, maybe one day,” I nodded. I looked back down at Charlie. “Or if I find the right partner.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I softly passed the ball to Charlie. I chuckled as she stopped it with her hands before pushing it back to me.
“You kick it,” I said as I bent down in front of her. Charlie shook her head. “It’s a soccer ball. You kick it to each other.”
“No.”
I shook my head at the toddler but I waited for her to turn back to me before I softly passed it to her again. Charlie once again stopped it with her hands before pushing the ball back to me.
“What are you two doing?” Alex as she came up behind Charlie.
“I’m trying to teach Charlie how to pass the ball back and forth. But someone is determined not to kick the ball,” I said.
“I could always join,” Alex said.
“I would never say no to a legend like the Alex Morgan.”
Alex rolled her eyes before I passed the ball to her before she softly passed it to Charlie. Charlie, however, was still content to pushing the ball to us. I shook my head at her as Alex and I continued to kick the ball back and forth while Charlie just pushed it.
“You grew up in Los Angeles, right?” Alex asked. I nodded at that. “What was it like?”
“It was home,” I shrugged. Growing up in L.A. had been cool. “I mean, I’m the youngest of five. Living in L.A. can be hard when you have that many kids. It’s been really cool though to play for my hometown.”
“You’re the youngest of five?”
“Yeah.”
“That must have been something growing up,” Alex said. I shrugged at that. “I bet there wasn’t a dull moment growing up.”
“Wouldn’t really know. I was usually overlooked,” I said as I picked at my food. “Usually everything I did, my siblings had already done. It’s why soccer been so huge for me. None of my siblings played. But I was usually the one left out because there was a 5-year difference between me and my youngest oldest sibling but there was only ever like 2 years between my older siblings.”
“It must have been lonely,” Alex said.
“I lived. I had soccer,” I said. There were times where it had felt lonely growing up because I wasn’t as close with my siblings as they were with each other. “We’re all pretty close now.”
“Gone,” Charlie chirped from my lap.
I looked down at her with a smile. I glanced at her plate.
“All gone?” I asked. Charlie nodded at that. “Good! You gotta eat healthy if you wanna grow big and strong.”
“Like you?”
“Yeah, like me,” I nodded.
“Be big and stwong like (Y/N), Mama!”
I softly chuckled at that as I looked over at Alex. She was smiling at Charlie and I.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Are you sure you’re okay to watch her for the night?” Alex asked.
I rolled my eyes at her concern. It had to be like the tenth time she had asked me.
“Alex, we’ll be fine. We’re just gonna hang out in the room,” I assured her. I had babysat plenty of time to know that it would be fine. “We’ll probably just play and eat our own dinner and go to sleep. You’ll come back and we’ll be totally okay.”
“Are you sure?”
“Go to dinner with the others. It isn’t my thing,” I said.
Alex nodded before giving Charlie one last kiss on the top of her head before she left. I grinned as I turned to Charlie.
“Aiwpwane?”
“Airplane.”
Charlie giggled as soon as I picked her up and lifted her in the air as I made engine noises. Charlies squeals and giggles filled the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I groaned as I rubbed at my eyes. It took me a moment to realize that Charlie and I were no longer the only ones in the room. I caught Alex shooing the others out of the room as I pulled Charlie off of my chest and laid her down on my bed.
“It looks like you two were comfy,” Alex pointed out.
“We had fun,” I said. I glanced over at the bed where Charlie was laying. “Played, ate dinner, played some more, and then we watched Encanto. We must have fallen asleep during the movie.”
“I’m glad Charlie had fun.”
I nodded at that and watched as Alex pulled her shoes off. I couldn’t lie that I had gotten close to Alex during this camp. I was hoping that we’d be seeing each other more.
“I was thinking that Kelley could watch Charlie tomorrow,” I said. Alex furrowed her brow and turned to look at me as she tilted her head. “I was hoping that I could take you out on a date.”
“I didn’t take you for someone to go out on many dates.”
“Well, I’m not. But there’s this really beautiful forward that plays for the same national team and she has a pretty cool daughter,” I nodded. Alex gave me a small smile at that. “They’ve both been really amazing to me. Tonight, I figured that if this forward was able to create such a lovable and amazing daughter, then I would probably be interested in asking her out.”
“You have to plan it out,” Alex pointed at me.
“Deal,” I grinned. “So tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow.”
