this is jiang xuening. she is, as you can probably guess, the empress. there's been a coup. it's headed by her ex-best friend (who was in love with her until his family got massacred and she chose to leave him to pursue her dream to be empress) who resents her + a bloodthirsty advisor to the emperor. the only man she's ever loved (not the emperor ofc) hates her and is in prison because of her. her life is hell. she knows she has no way out. she trades her life for her imprisoned lover-

because jxn is not stupid, now that she's got a chance to do things again, she immediately decides this time she's going to do better!!

while we're on the topic of sorting out her relationships while she's in the palace, let's talk a little bit about zhang zhe, aka the only man she ever loved in life #1

this is zhang zhe, low ranking officer in the ministry of justice. as straight-laced as they come. excellent cheekbones. in life #1, had a Soft Spot for jxn and did some stuff against his conscience for her. in this life, she's determined not to ruin him!! he's like her 白月光

ANYWAY these two meet again in the palace when he saves her life when she's being framed for treason. immediately, jxn is all 😍🤩 over him again. why would she not!! he was her biggest regret in life #1!! she literally died to save him!! (for those of y'all who expect to have SL syndrome over him, prepare to be WELL-FED, these two have a long arc)

alright y'all know how i said jxn was in the palace to be the princess's study buddy? well!! let's meet their teacher:

xie wei. advisor to the emperor. resting bitchface 10/10. petty af. occasionally feral and murderous 🥵. they were sort of briefly acquainted way back when they travelled to the capital together and jxn saved his life when he was having an Episode (long story short, bb boy is Unwell). the last face jxn saw in life #1 when she took her own life. you guessed it, he's aka the bloodthirsty advisor who staged the coup in life #1.

jxn is (rightfully) quite afraid of him. she tries her best to stay out of his way, but he's trying to sound her out (because she knows his ~secret) to see if she's friend or foe, so they end up in each other's paths more often than not, including important times such as these:

when jxn is trying to thwart a plot to frame yan lin's dad for treason

when xie wei is committing murder

when jxn is heart broken over zhang zhe

they kind of form an alliance!! in jxn's mind, xie wei and yan lin staged the coup together in life #1, so their interests must sort of be aligned!! plus!! xie wei is hella smart!! he'll know what to do to stop yan lin's family from getting masacred!!

ANYWAY that's the gist of the story - i've avoided most of the spoilery parts i think.

there's also the typical cdrama villains you'd expect in a show like this: evil empress dowager, power-hungry prime minister, spoiled brat daughter of the prime minister who is also scheming to be queen, evil uncle of the king trying to usurp the throne etc etc. all the things you need to prop the Palace Evil Schemes up.

i've seen some people say this is a 低配 version of love like the galaxy, which, ykw? fair. 😂 lltg is written better. sokp was a fun watch, though!! y'all know i am into reincarnation plots, and am basically predisposed to liking most of bai lu's dramas. and!! this show ends on such a good note!! i've been tricked into so many ~vague endings this year that this was so so so good to get <3

some of the parts dragged a bit for me (i am p meh about zhang zhe, i mean i get the appeal, but he's not doing it for me), but it wasn't bad! i liked xie wei's character enough to sit through a lot of things. could've done with like 300% more yan lin and the princess, but we can't always have what we want!!

I don't know if it's considered Spoiler, at this point I doubt it, but considering how proud Draxum feels about how 'Good' Galime is doing under his care and how smug he is about it, how he would feel knowing about the ninpo and that he basically sealed Donnie's mystical abilities along with his memories, that basically the mall accident is his fault, that he could see the Donnie of canon and realize no matter how hard he tries, Galilea could never reach that his full potential because of what he did to him?

I still can't believe we are so close to Donnie getting his memories back, a YEAR following this fic, I remember when I started, TFS was barely on Chapter 6! Almost 40 chapters later, it feels so close and yet so far away! Please can you at least let me know in advance if you are going to post the chapter that week so I can mentally prepare myself?

I still don't know how the heck you're going to give Draxum a satisfactory punishment, especially after all what's happen, unless it's several chapters of punishment, in which case, I'm in. I can't wait.

Heyoo, I was rereading a player's aid last night and I had a really weird dream sorta related. And now I'm taking that dream and your story to make an absolute Frankenstein mess of ideas.

What if the Guide (someone from our world) did go alongside their adventures in physical body. But in not in order! First with Time, at 7 years old all throughout his adventures. After that, at 9, Guide met the Minish alongside Four! Then, with Legend at 10 up to 14 (because the poor vet got too many adventures).

But between Leg's adventures happened the classic LOZ adventures with Hyrule. Then at 15, Guide went with Sky!

After that, there was a rest until 17 to go with Twilight, then at 19 with Wind, but because I theorize he didn't originally have the blessing of the hero, Guide appeared until after he beat the Tower of the Gods (is that the name? I'm on my way home in the metro and I honestly forgot...) and helped the child from then on as a more helpful and capable guide.

After the whole mess with Wind, Guide helped Warriors with much more experience under their belt to aid on a whole ass war. And lastly, Guide helped our poor amnesiac Wild after waking up to a world he didn't recognize and had no real idea how to save.

In my case, I have a giant soft spot for Twilight (in a romantic way) because he and RE 4 Leon were my crushes as a child on the Wii, so there's that. But with you or anyone who may want to take this mess they I'm freely gifting, you can choose who would be the romantic interest.

A little detail to not forget is that Time and Guide last saw each other as traumatized children, and when the chain gets collected and they meet Wild and the Guide soon after the BOTW adventure, Time is physically around his 40's and mentally who tf knows! But the Guide is at the oldest, 20 to 21.

(I'm not sending it on anon because in case this is minimally interesting to you, maybe I can send more random thoughts I have on this AU or others without much issue. Will I regret it? Background Lore for the au

Okay so the au takes place in 2033 so the gen 1 clones (Abe, Joan, JFK, Cleo) would be in their 40s. So in total there would now be 4 generations of clones. The gen 4 clones (Harriet, Confucius, Chris(Topher), Frida) would be 16. Why Gandhi is not on that list is because Gandhi is still 16. He was determined to be a failure due to him folding under the pressure and no longer striving to be like the original Gandhi.

So Gandhi was kept frozen, as they could still use his DNA and to make him again if needed. But that never happened. Gandhi being deemed a "failure" was terrifying for the clones. The only one that was scared was Abe. He was sad. He lost his best friend. So he obviously did NOT take it well. He entered a depression that he suffered a while with Joan trying to pull him out of it.

Okay so now

Cleo and JFK's plan

Cleo saw what Gandhi's fate did to the school. They were terrified with the threat of sharing the same fate for not following what they were supposed to be. So Cleo gets an idea: To make sure that no one suffers that way again, they'll schedule meetings with clones who cloned from people in similar eras and who had similar mindsets. So they would learn and become closer to who they were supposed to be. She asks JFK to help her in her plan which he agrees to. They are successful and actually make a friendship with each other. They both grow as people in return.

But the same isn't for

Abe and Joan

Abe suffers a great deal when Gandhi is gone. He just stops being himself and stops taking care of himself. Joan tries to help him but he pushes her away for constantly going behind his back to help/get with JFK (like twice) which Joan worries her. He's not accepting her help or anyone's help for that matter, he ignored Cleo, he got into a physical fight with JFK, he's not like himself. SO MAJOR PROBLEM!!! If Abe doesn't get better he'll be given the same fate. Cleo, JFK, Joan try and get through but it just doesn't work. Until Joan tells that she cared about Gandhi too and it worried her too but she can't lose him too. So Abe finally listens to her and breaks down, pouring his heart out. Joan never wanted to see him like that again.

Now meanwhile with

Scudworth and Mr. B

After the prom, Scudworth just walks out but is promptly hunted down by the remaining Board of Shadowy Figures. Where he and Mr. B are separated. Scudworth is locked in a cell for his mind cause he broke a deal they had. The deal was that since Scudworth DID rob graves to clone people in the first place while the government was busy with Dolly the Sheep (Dolly the Sheep is real) the first cloned mammal... or so thought. What ever the FUCK Scudworth did made people with only a few failed attempts while Dolly took about 277 times to get right. So he was imprisoned but not killed since they needed his mind. Mr. B was almost dismantled but he used his little wheels and RAN TF AWAY.

What does this lead to?

This leads to Abe growing hateful at the board and coming up with ideas to take them out of power and take their place AKA REVOLUTION!!! So when Abe started telling Joan his plan she agreed to help him. So to get where they wanted to be, they started to change themselves to be seen as the best of the best. Joan dropped her goth look and Abe fixed that posture. Basically changed who they are to seem like they follow their historical counterparts the best.

But they have a plan. To assassinate the entire board and take power. So that's exactly what they do. At graduation they wear their historical attire and when Abe goes on stage as everyone watches he shoots one of them, giving the signal for Joan to take out the rest. Everyone else watches in horror. But the clones seize power and take over.

Yeah I'm tried of writing now but thats the lore on how it leads to it.

Tbh, I think it felt so short because they had to fit three storylines into twenty minutes. I really wish they were allowed 40 minute episodes, then they could’ve really done a deep dive into all three moving parts of this episode. Like at this point it’s not the writers or show runners fault, it’s just that they probably didn’t get the budget to make their episodes that long, which rlly sucks but like,,, ya can’t be mad.

But! I honestly still don’t understand how ALL OF THIS is gonna get wrapped up in 1 more episode. Like how? Genuinely, how?

On the one hand, that makes me worry that the last episode is gonna be super rushed and feel unfinished or whatever but on the other hand it gives me hope that we’re gonna get another show. Because we still don’t know how Gregor, Rex and Wolffe ended up on Silos (?) alone, what happened to their rebellion, where the entirety of the batch went, what the hell Echo Base on Hoth is all about, who tf CX-2 is and Hemlock and Rampart are still alive also?? Which seems like an oversight.

AND all the clones still need to be busted out of Tantiss and relocated and why am I getting the feeling that Tantiss is just gonna blow up with everyone still there and that’s the reason why Rex gives up SHIT FUCK DAMNNIT

Anyway, point being!! This can’t end well any way you slice it. Lovely.

I will say that all in all I did like this episode!! Rampart getting panic attack after panic attack was rlly fun, we got a heart to heart between Wrecker and Crosshair (brief as it was), Echo again proofed why he is an ARC Trooper and why, after the apocalypse and the explosion of the galaxy he will still be standing, and Omega showed us once again that she is a far cry from that scared kid in season 1 and has instead turned into a sharp, competent, mini soldier (lets not talk about the fact that she’s essentially been turned into a child soldier out of pure necessity)

i went into it with pretty low expectations because everyone kept on calling it a shitshow. it's not bad per se, but it wasn't good either. it was.. meh. 2.5/5.

afaik ID takes place in 2006, and RE4 in '04. so why tf does Leon look like he's at least 40??

that honestly fucked it up timeline-wise for me. was the show purposely designed not to fit into the timeline in any way whatsoever a la "welcome to raccoon city"?

if that's the case, Leon and Claire still somehow are able to remember the events of Raccoon City in this timeline.

my brain can't come to a logical conclusion over the timeline, so i'll leave it at that.

i wish they gave Claire more screen time. they did her so dirty imo.

what were they trying to set up with Claire and Leon's interactions? a loveteam? if this was so, what even was their last conversation in ep 4?

the Claire on top of Leon scene. tf? what the hell were they trying to set up? were they going to fuck and continue the redfield bloodline right then and there? kiss? hug? maybe punch each other's lights out?? i'm seriously so fucking confused.

Shen Mei and Leon too. Leon asks her out and she declines. what was the point of that conversation? i'm just going to assume it's to show the locket with Jun See's picture in it.

why the hell did Jason kill Shen Mei? what was the point? why didn't Leon give a shit when she died? it was like he just forgot about her.

i love how President Graham believes anything as long as Leon is involved. in ep 1 when Leon's late: "it's fine bc you saved my daughter." in the last ep when Patrick tells him that Wilson was behind everything and cites Leon as source, Mr. POTUS decides to wing his speech ON THE SPOT just because of that fact. what if Patrick was making it up? that really would have fucked up international relations and all that. i don't know. Graham really loves Leon i guess.

going off of that, i wish we got to see more of Patrick. i would have loved to see him interact more with Leon.

what is gonna happen to that chip!?

i have no idea if a Season 2 would be able to salvage/explain the plot, but honestly i don't think the series deserves a Season 2. it might be a waste of time and money plus an even bigger disappointment to fans.

Nick Apostolides to me sounds like someone who's breaking in a new pair of shoes. it sounds like he's still getting used to walking in them and therefore tries different things (which i find ironic since he'd already voiced baby faced rookie cop Leon S. Ray Chase. before i saw him here i knew him as Neuvillette (aka "according to the judgment of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale") in Genshin Impact. his line delivery is stellar. i hope that's also him voicing mutated/infected Jason because he sounds fantastic there. but there's a line that he says there that sounds so awkward because the delivery is so sped up that the emotion is gone.

Stephanie Panisello also voices Claire in RE2R, but i haven't seen too much of her there to compare it to her performance here. i will say, however, that i honestly enjoyed her performance here, but there are times when she sounds like she's holding back a bit. it would have been perfect if she let go a little bit more.

Jona Xiao as Shen Mei was also great, but i think she also suffers the sams problem as Stephanje in that she sounds like she'a holding back.

Doug Stone as Wilson was perhaps the most enjoyable for me, as well as Billy Kametz who voiced Patrick.

I got bored,so more info on the YJ as Batkids AU

It started with Conner, he was crying after another …encounter with Superman. Batman has watched it all go down,and he instantly decided, ‘I’m gonna adopt that boy.’ and that’s that,he comforted Conner,and then asked him the million dollar question, “Can I adopt you?” And Conner was quick to say yes.

Next Batkid was Kaldur,surprisingly. Kaldur had an argument with Orin and Mera, it was about his father. Of course it was. It ended with him crying and Zeta beaming to Mount Justice. Thankfully no one was there,he settled down on the couch and just let it out. He was sobbing for a solid 30 minutes. Near the end of his meltdown,he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was none other than the big bat himself. He got defensive but Batman instantly comforted him,he broke down again,ended up crying in Batman’s arms. After a while,Kaldur calmed down,and now he was sleepy,before he fell asleep, Batman asked him, “Would you like to be my son instead?” A nod of the head and Kaldur was knocked out.

Third one was Wally, after a fight with Flash,he stormed off and went to Mount Justice. He wanted to go to the training room to let the anger out but he was intercepted by Batman. He asked him what was wrong, and best believe the flood gates broke. He ended up venting,after he was done he got offered water and adoption.

Artemis was next up. She took it as a joke when the big bad Batman asked her to be his first daughter. She said yes,mainly because GA pissed her off earlier that day. She soon realizes it was not a joke,too late to back out now. At least some team members were there with her.

M’gann knew it was bound to happen,she accepted it easily,she had gotten into a fight with MM,she was sad and low key depressed. She tried to cry in silence,but Batman was not letting that slide,he ended up guiding her through it,she did not hesitate to say yes when he asked “Can I adopt you?”

Zatanna and Raquel actually got adopted at the same time. A mission went haywire,they were trying to comfort each other,but it wasn’t enough. Suddenly Batman was there,he was the anchor they both needed. Batman didn’t even get the chance to ask before they both said, “Could you adopt us?”

That’s how the adopting went,now their rooms at the Mansion.

Conner’s bed has a bunch of pillows and blankets,he replaced all his Superman merch with Batman,he has posters,drawing,figures and so on…

Kaldur’s room has its own personal pool,walk in closet, a desk, and a king sized bed,this fish boy was living the dream. He has a bookshelf full of trinkets,pictures,books and other random stuff, and a bunch of doodles on his walls.

Wally’s room still has some Flash merch but it’s all practically taken over by Batman posters everywhere. He also has a wall dedicated to pictures of the team,he also has his own bathroom.

Artemis’s room was somewhat normal. (She has a Zatanna shrine in her closet.) Moon lights all over the room. And a massive vanity,she has the room with the biggest window.

M’gann’s room is really bright,curtain lights everywhere,pink bedsheets,baby blue walls,and she has LED lights,she has a big mirror taking up half of a wall

Zatanna’s room is. Chaotic to say the least. She has those glow in the dark star stickers on her roof, the most normal thing. Two posters of Houdini. On different walls. A tapestry of Shrek standing in front of the bisexual flag. A million fans everywhere. Cold asf in there. She also painted half a wall Neon Green. Not even the whole wall.

Raquel as I said before,obsessed with butterflies, Butterfly posters,butterfly bedsheets,she even had her walls painted with butterflies. Anytime Bruce sees something butterfly themed he instantly gets it for her.

like imagine itafushikugi going shopping for like traditional japanese clothes for a little festival or some shit (megumi was dragged by his spikes to come along) & nobara is having the time of her life finding outfits for her & the boys. like it got to the point where she’s dressing them herself & she shows megumi an outfit that looked similar to the robe he was forced to wear bc of the zenin (it’s obviously not the same) & megumi just refuses to wear a robe with similar color patterns to the zenin robe.

megumi: that looks like the outfit the zenin forced me to wear. i wonder what happened to it, cause the last thing i know, i got blood all over it. so as the second member of the zenin hate club, im not wearing that….

you also opened my eye to the potential of maki & tsumiki… like i also like to imagine that in a happier world, they would understand each other on such a deep level. but they would also find parts of the other that they wished they had. but on a happier note i like to imagine that megumi would suffer whenever it was brought up that his aunt is basically dating his step sister. like maki would be a menace to megumi. every little thing he do? maki is texting tsumiki in a corner.

i honestly love your story. the way you added so much more to megumi childhood is beautiful. it just make soooo much sense. but also your characterization of gojo is so precious to me. i’m waiting for gojo to go apeshit on the zenin. i’m also giggling in anticipation at gojo finding out about yuuta attachment to megumi. i like to imagine him to be kind of worried about it actually, bc that’s not fucking healthy. but i imagine him getting used to it since megumi will have a protector in the form of yuuta & his power of love.

i’m also curious to see mai’s role in this story since.

They would be the presidents but yuuta and maki are already in a death match for the position and they're trying to avoid the bloodshed. they are not allowed to be treasurer because neither of them know how money works.

megumi is unaware that a formal club has been formed.

Megumi is suffering SO HARD in any world where maki and tsumiki are together. they won't stop ganging up on him when it comes to his love life and general wellbeing and holding hands where he has to see it. maki lectures him about his suicidal tendencies in the field, holds up one finger, calls tsumiki, and lets her pick up where she left off. maki tries to talk to him about relationships one (1) time and he tries to drown himself.

see i'm pretty open to writing a megumi POV but it, like most of my stories, falls in this nebulous category of "if i have the time." like, i've thought about writing megumi's pov before, there's a lot of stuff that happened that exists as like, background knowledge for me that will never make it through yuuta's pov because it doesn't make sense for yuuta to find out about it. It would be very tonally different, but if i did write it, it would be a different work entirely and i'd be making sea glass gardens into a series.

i'm eternally tempted by the siren call of making my works into a series. If i did it with sea glass gardens, i would want to add a one shot of Megumi's pov during the time leading up to sea glass gardens and a short multi-chapter of the gojo, nanami, shoko teen parenting trio. If I have the time, it will exist; if i don't, it won't.

I put them by my personal preference as to how good I think they’d be in the roles. Some of these pairs are aging out of university setting, but *shrug*

BounPrem (UWMA) - honestly they’d probubly be great in these roles, and they’re well establish so my first pick. But Wabi Sabi isn’t allowed to do this show. 

Sugus & Tenon (Golden Blood) - these two played PitchBank, the side dishes, and they have never cobranded but they were truly wonderful. I think they’d be really good at these roles in particular. SO if the studio wanted relative unknowns... 

ZeeNew (Cutie Pie) - they’d be fine, a perfectly serviceable casting, and I’d like to see Nunew handle true tsundere, also they could bring the high heat from the original manwha, there’s a lot to be said for that (it’s HOT). 

EarthMix (1000 Stars) - maybe, I think Mix could do it but I’m not sure about Earth. 

YinWar (Love Mechanics) - another maybe? They have the acting chops but not sure they have the right look. 

PluemChimon (My Dear Loser) - dipping into the well on this one and probubly sacrificing some heat content, but actually I think they could do it. They might not have the right physicality though. 

First & Khaotung (The Eclipse) - we haven’t seen their pairing yet, but I have high hopes.

Also to reply to the other ask I sent you, I feel like NCTzens are either amazing to writers or so toxic. Like I once did an MTL that was an ask and it was who would like a thicc s/o and I put Taeyong like in the middle, and I got so much hate, someone spammed my inbox with like 40 messages saying Taeyong would never want a fatty, and they made like 10 fake accounts to comment on all of my NCT mtls to share their opinion, and I just had to delete most of my NCT MTLs and block like 20 accounts. They were so mad that I said Taeyong would probably want a an s/o that eats well, they felt the need to attack me so badly, I quit writing MTLS for NCT after that. Then I would have people in my asks complaining about me not doing them anymore, and it's just like I wonder why; you ask my opinion and then when I say Johnny would love a girl with a fat ass you attack me since it's not want you wanted me to say. I've been in a lot of fandoms, and I'm lucky most I've been don't go out of their way to attack you for a varying opinion or disliking something, but NCTzens it's just like where do you get the audacity.

I feel like they would probably think I'm some weird and be all ew p*d0 or something, but I'm just such a mom friend it's just like if you are younger than I and we are interacting, I now view you as my child nothing else; but it's just easier to avoid talking to them, since people always immediately assume the worst, which I don't blame them since there are so many weirdos on here. tbh it is, like I see no age anywhere or like even an age range, like just put 18+ or 21+, just let me know you are legal, otherwise I run the other way and hit that block button with such speed, it could rival Usain Bolt; since I just immediately assume minor that doesn't want you to know they are a minor. The same is for people who write smut about minors, when they themselves are not, even if they didn't know the age of the idol. Like I saw someone the other day that wrote Niki smut and someone messaged them saying 'he's a minor', they full on said "omg I had no idea, he looks like he's 20" and like this is why we can't have nice things, at least they deleted their stuff, but still immediate block.

the czennie fandom part: YES. i feel like czennies on here just overdo everything like calm tf down and if you dont like certain type of content just..dont read it? its honestly so sad bc they used to be my ults but i also had such bad experiences in that fandom it's heartbreaking. ive been so much more cautious and careful with what i post ever since and i feel like a lot of fellow former nct writers feel that way. its just so difficult to deal with it all bc you do it as a hobby and to kinda escape the real world and boom, hate and negativity everwhere. i'd never go back to writing for nct for that sole reason only. im so sorry you had to go through that baby, i know exactly how disheartening and demotivating that can be 💔

about the whole age thing: FULLHEARTEADLY AGREED. i think with a fandom this young its super difficult to find a good balance but im honestly glad most of us older engenes think that way and so far most younger ones have been super respectful (tho i did have to block a few minors bc they interacted with my nsfw content) i still feel a lot more comfortable than i did in other fandoms. the thing is, atp if a 05/06 liner happens to write smut about an idol the same age i just close both eyes and block them bc who am i to tell them what to do yk? yet not knowing an idols age you write for is kinda ???? nah, dont fw but deffo get your other points. also i lit felt the mom friend part so hard bc same (more like older sister friend) but im genuinely afraid creeping out younger engenes bc i dont wanna seem like im being a weirdo 😭

All they have to do is make sure the house survives until then and they’re failing miserably. I get Jace was already in a mood cuz of Aegon acting like a pig, but we need to practice some restraint. I think we’re gonna get a Rhaenys and Alicent conversation next episode. Excited for that. I also think we’re gonna see Aegon trying to run from the crown - that boy does not want the throne.
