Just in case you need to hear this:

It's okay to have to start over and try again.

At eighteen I learned java, html, css-- I was in an advanced online highschool program (that I paid for) with a 4.0 GPA. I worked 30-40 hours a week, was in the gym daily, had smoothies every morning and actively studied Korean. I was determined to rebuild my life and get on track.

And now, at twenty three, I am back to square one. My Korean skills are lackluster, I forgot everything I once knew about Java, and I couldn't afford to pay for highschool.

Instead of trying to rebuild everything in my life that crumbled in the years between, I am starting fresh. I am building something new and trying again.

It's okay to try again.

the longer i work as a child educator the more i strongly feel like it's really just awful practice to post specific anecdotes about the children you work with to social media. not only out of respect for children's privacy but also because i think that it's just really not good to tie your mindset when observing your kids to a mindset of looking for content to post about. if that makes sense.

#this is one of the big reason i just really dont talk much about my job on here #one reason i get so pissed off abt self-avowed childcare workers doom posting horror stories about their kids on here #is that i dont care whether its true or not why would you just throw it out on ur personal social media #to an audience of ppl who largely will not understand or empathize with your kids and your struggles #like i think anyone who works with kids can probably understand that posting alarmistly about their behavior on tumblr #is not going to breed nuanced empathy or awareness for their situation. its just going to get op notes.

people are discoursing about the laios and shiro fight bc that was always going to happen but i do hope that wave crests quickly and we can all come to see it as what it is: literally one of the best written fights between two people who are both entirely justified in their actions and acting without any malice or cruelty of all time

#theres a tendency - especially in action and faction based media (which a lot of fantasy is or is in dialogue with) - to depict fights only #as happening between someone who Is Right and someone who Is Wrong #and getting to see a full on beatdown between two dudes who are both acting in an entirely understandible way and who both dont actually #want to hurt the other at all - to the extent where their desire to maintain a positive relationship with each other is the SOURCE of their #conflict in the first place - is just so cathartic to see #like unpopular opinion but sometimes you do just need to Fight someone to work through issues youre having #like irl i would not recommend that extent of Force obviously #but if you're two people in a situation where neither has active power over the other sometimes the healthiest option involves expressing #and receiving genuine anger that is not filtered through a social buffer #like sometimes you just need to yell that someone is pissing you off by how much they invade ur time and space and sometimes you need to #yell that someone is sabotaging your ability to interact with them by not expressing any discomfort with your behaviour ever #AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO BE YELLED AT #BECAUSE it sucks. it sucks to experience and until you can both share that space of feeling awful with each other youre not gonna get past #it and you're not gonna understand each other's pain #i think they're both wonderfully well written characters and its a testament to their depth as people that i can so easily understand why #and how both of them are behaving the way they do #im still only like halfway through the manga but it is like my favourite character interaction scene so far #fred says a thing #dunmeshi

i think im just gonna start blocking people that engage in flowey age discourse <3 im not in the fandom for petty drama about nothing im here for analysis and art and its really irritating to be looking for art and all there is is arguments. i love uty dearly but the sudden uptick in pointless arguments regarding floweys character is infuriating. why can't we talk about how well hes written and that hes an extremely good example of ptsd why must we argue. if u disagree with something block and move on dont act like children

Btw sorry for not getting to asks and drawing lately, I've been busy for almost the whole past week. hangs my head low

very happy Matt decided to clarify his stance on the genocide of the Palestinian people rn. Pretty unhappy with the way he worded it, who he centered in his video, and disappointed to see the responses to it on Twitter.

kinda scared to even post about it bc CR fans can get so defensive about their favorite white people that they can often leave little room for criticism or nuance. but man I have thoughts.

#lemme just say. if you have a public platform that has set a precedent for philanthropic work. messages of positivity and love.#and have called attention to various political and social conflicts *in stream*. & whose employees and cast members are vocal #on socials about political topics #then it is NOT unreasonable for fans to expect them to address one of the deadliest orchestrated conflicts in recent history #a literal genocide is happening. thanks in part to the US.#it is good that they donated as a company and as individuals. so good!#but to everyone saying that publicizing good deeds like donations is virtue signaling or demanding CR cast to show their support is #or that activism shouldnt be all about what you post bc then it becomes performative #are kinda missing the point. and theyre not listening to palestinians at all #a huge issue with this conflict & the way its being received in the western world - ESPECIALLY the US bc of its partnership w israel -#is the sheer amount of disgusting minsinformation and propaganda convincing ppl this genocide is either not that bad or that its necessary #everyday citizens CANNOT change foreign policy. we cant do anything!#so what have Palestinians been asking us to do?? GOD this new layout is FUCK ugly. clicking the activity feed now brings a stupid mini window popup that BLOCKS the view of my dash LOLOL like literally its so fucking bad. it used to be nice and clean because the popup was on the opposite side and didn't obscure anything?? like they literally just wanna look like twitter no matter how hideous and confusing and nonsensical the cost huh
