the other night i had a dream that i was leo and the whole family was vacationing on a tropical island except there were these teleport spots that teleported you, so I was trying to teleport to a cool beach or reef or something but only humans could activate the teleporter and I wanted this girl (I went to camp with her) to teleport me and for some reason she was sitting on a surfboard and I think Rupert Grint and this kid in one of my classes who has great hair were also waiting so I was like “i need goggles” and I ran back to the resort which was 100% made of nicely stained wood and full of white people and small children crying there was dragonfruit in flower shapes and just like a whole melon which I took and for some reason I (Leo) distinctly remember HATING dragonfruit but I (dusky) personally love it so that was confusing but anyway I tried to go back but there was an obstacle course and the first obstacle was a 2 foot horizontal jump to some broken stairs and there was an old man facilitating and blocking my view and I could not see the rest of the course and I spent the whole rest of the dream trying to get across. Sober Buddies Ch.1 Help lines and cults

Summary: Y/n is new at college and trying to find a footing in everything. When she meets a guy who introduces her to something that could really help find her path.

AN/ Hey Ya'll welcome to my serious I'm so excited to make this series. So it will use some plot lines from season six but a lot will change including CJ but his key character notes will still be there. Without further ado enjoy Sober buddies.

College, was an escape from my life at home, something I had always wanted. And in Boston: my dream since I was a freshman in high school. At Worthington, I had worked so hard to get here, and I finally did. It's about two weeks away from the start of school and today I get to check out my dorm that I’m sharing with two other girls- which should be fun, hopefully. I walked into the room where three beds were barely fitting together. I put my things on the middle bed when the door bursts open. “Uh, who the hell are you?” I turn and a pretty blond girl is standing there. 

“Um, I'm Y/N, your roommate, nice to meet you.” I hold out my hand and she looks down at it like it was covered in shit. “Okay, I'm just going to assume that you're a germaphobe.” 

“Don't mind her, she's Audrey, and I'm Joey.” This girl, a brunette, actually shakes my hand. “Y/N, I'm so happy this worked out!” Audrey looks confused. “Well, she needed a place and thought, why not us?” Joey explained to Audrey, who looked like you had killed her dog in front of her.

“I promise I won't be annoying. I will even let you have the first shower of the morning Audrey.” I tried to appeal to her queen bee side.

“Fine you can stay, but don’t touch my clothes, okay?”

I raise my right hand in the air as if swearing an oath. “I promise and cross my heart and all that.” Hopefully these girls and I can become friends and Audrey won't kill me in my sleep for accidentally grabbing her dress.

It had been a couple of weeks- and it was now one week before school started. Audrey and I hadn't really been besties, but Joey and I had a pretty great rapport going on. I was looking at my classes and trying to get a handle on what I should be studying, when Audrey came bursting in. “Omg oh my gosh, do you know where Joey is?” 

I looked around. Clearly not, I thought. “I don't know Audrey, I think studying at the library, maybe.” Audrey sits down on her bed with a huff.

“Why is she studying? School doesn't even start for another week,” Audrey sighs. I knew that Joey’s English class was stressing her out. 

“Um, probably for her English class, I heard it's super hard.” 

“Right, little Miss Perfect does the super hard class and will probably get all A’s.” I could tell by the tone of her voice that this was mostly a projection of whatever had happened that she needed to talk to Joey about. 

“You know, Audrey, you could always talk to me. I can guarantee you that I've faced a similar problem.” She gives me a dirty side eye but gives in.

“I guess since you're the only one here.” 

“Great, I love being the last choice.” I set down my books and sit down on the ground criss-cross applesauce style. She rolls her eyes at me. 

“Shush my problems, remember.” 

“Yes, I do,” I reply.

“Well, I was at the bar with my boyfriend. His name is Pacey.” I nod my head trying to keep up. “And we were playing pool when this gothic hot chick came walking up- and this is the woman that he wants to live with!” Audrey threw her arms up in a dramatic flare.

“I'm confused, Audrey. Number one: what do you mean by living with her and two: why would that be a problem?” She looks shocked by my answer. 

“What do you mean, ‘what do I mean’? She's hot, he wants to move, and she has space in her apartment.”

“Okay, but I'm still confused as to why it would be bad to move to a better place.” At my response, I notice Audrey is becoming more impatient.

“Because Duh! Y/N, she's hot!”

It seems like this girl has a whole lot of issues- but I'm not one to talk on that. “Look, Audrey, do you trust Pacey?” She doesn't even hesitate. 

“Yes but-” 

“There's your answer.” 

“But-” 

“But, you trust your boyfriend, and that’s what matters, even if the girl is a supermodel. If he's as good as you make him sound, then he won't even look in her direction.” Audrey takes that in. 

“I guess you're right, you know, you're not half bad L/N.” She gives me a little respectful nod. 

“Same to you, Lindell.” 

School was happening tomorrow, and I had thankfully gotten all things done. Now, I had more time to get to know Jen and her grandma, who were really sweet so far. They are sitting at a table and I go to them. “Hey Jen, Evelyn.” I greeted as I sat. 

“Oh please sweetheart, call me Grams, everyone does.” She smiles at me warmly.

“Okay great! If it's okay with you, what are we talking about?” Jen has no problem catching me up.

“Well, Y/N, Grams here has only picked up a math book because of a certain someone who teaches it.” 

“Aww, I think that's cute.” Jen did not agree with me. 

“l think it's a slippery slope. l mean, one minute you're taking an interest, and the next...you're sublimating your own thoughts and desires, and for what? For a chance to participate in the great patriarchal heterosexist fraud…”

“...that is better known as monogamy?” I answer in her pause. She gives me a quick look.

“ls that how you wanna spend your golden years? Folding some man's laundry and pretending to share an interest? l mean, haven't we come further as a sex--?” She stops and looks behind me. And she stares for a second. 

“Hi. I'm sorry, are we bothering you?” Jen asked the stranger behind me. I got curious enough and turned to see one of the most handsome men I had ever seen. “Because if it's not too much trouble, you could get your own conversation.”

“No. Sorry.” He apologized but I had a feeling he wasn't done yet. “I've been sitting there trying to figure out where l met you before… and suddenly I realized I've never met you before.” I chuckle at that. 

“Great. Well, I'm really glad that we got that figured out,” Jen states, blandly.

“I've heard you on the radio.” I knew he wasn't done.

“Jen, you were on the radio? I never knew!” I exclaimed while hitting her arm in excitement. 

“Ow! And you didn't know because it's not important. And you.” She turned back to the guy. “Okay, you got me. I'm busted. l was on the radio. But I'm not anymore, so thank you very much for listening, and bye-bye.” She tried to end the conversation. 

“So, did you get fired, or what?” The man continued.

“What is this, an interview?” Jen looks annoyed.

“I'm just curious.” 

“Well, let's just say that l had some artistic differences with the new management.” Well, that sucks she had to give that up because of a dick in a suit, I thought. “Fine. Then we'll just say that,” Jen concludes.

“Fine.” The man replies. Then Grams comes in for the clutch. 

“Excuse me, young man. Would you care to join us?”

Grams had gone, I assume, to talk to the particular professor teaching math. While the guy had joined us. 

“I'm CJ.” 

“Y/N, and this radio host is Jen.” She rolls her eyes and I nudge her. 

“It's nice to meet you two.” 

“You too, CJ.” We had gotten on the subject of where we were living, and Jen mentioned that she is currently living with her grandma.

“No, l think it's nice.” 

“Yeah, that's what everybody says. ‘Oh, you live with your grandma. That's so sweet,’. How do they know l don't beat her and leave her tied to the radiator all winter?” 

“Ah, so that's the screaming I hear when I come over.” I added in. CJ laughed at my joke.

“ls this a cry for help?” CJ asked Jen. 

“Do l look like l need help?” 

“No. Actually, you look like someone who'd probably be good at giving it.” Jen hears that and immediately gets up and begins leaving, practically running for the hills.

“This has happened to me before. This religion thing is not really–” She is already halfway down the stairs. 

“Ha, just one Second CJ,” I say. He gives me a friendly smile. 

“Sure.” I went after her.

“Jen, wait- we should hear him out.” 

“Y/N, he was totally giving weird vibes. Are you coming?” I looked back and I felt something. 

“I think I'll stay.” 

“Well, call me if you need help out of the cult and remember nine for Joey’s surprise.” 

“Gotcha.” With that, she leaves. I turn back to CJ trying to think of some good reason.

“Hey, uh, so she had to leave for a class.” We sat back down. 

“No she didn't, class doesn't start till tomorrow.” I give a small smile. 

“You're right, sorry.” 

“It's okay I know everyone isn't for the whole ‘helping thing,’ but you're still here.” I looked around and he was right, I was, which was weird for me too. 

“I guess I am- uh, you said something about helping people?” I question. 

“Right- um… no matter how I say this I'm going to sound like a dork. Have you ever heard of The Stand?” He looks at me like he expects me to run away. 

“No, no, I never have. I just moved here from Cali so I don't know a lot of stuff here. What's The Stand?” CJ gets this look of confidence. 

“It’s a peer counseling program.” I think about it. 

“So I help people.” 

“Yes yes exactly! There's an information session tonight at seven.” He hands me a pamphlet on it. 

“I'll be there and maybe I can convince Jen that this is not a cult,” He says, with a small chuckle.

“That would be great! I can't wait to see you there.” He pats my shoulder in a friendly way and he leaves. I felt a sensation of butterflies rising up from my stomach, but I quickly grabbed a fly swatter and squished them. 

I had walked over to Jen’s house. “Hey, was escaping the cult hard?” I sat down on the couch laughing at her joke. 

“Very funny Jen, actually he was talking about the stand. Have you heard about that?” She gives me a comical look. 

“Yes, it's a call line where people call to complain about who's dating who and if the professor is going to give them an A or not.”

“I thought it was a little more serious than that,” I replied. “Well, whatever it is, I'm going to go to the information session tonight. You should come; if CJ was right about anything, it is that you would be good with helping people.” She sighs and glances down.

“Ok fine I'll go. We can pick up Joey’s gift after. And are you sure that you're not doing this just because CJ is ungodly hot?”

“No, I mean it helps, but he's not the reason I'm going to go.” I wish there was something like this when I was going through… no, I'm not going to think about that. I'm here to move on from that.

Jen and I went into the building and it was covered in inspiring posters and quotes. “On the nose much?” Jen commented, scanning the room. 

“I like it, let's get a good seat.” Which wouldn't be hard. There were tons of spots; I guess the word didn't get out. The speaker started and I was trying hard to listen, but Jen- not so much.

“So as l was saying, most of what we do around here. is simply information and referrals. And 99 times out of 100 just reminding someone to take a deep breath and to keep on breathing is enough. Tomorrow will be another day. For you too. Which brings me to our number one rule around here: Never be afraid to ask for a hug at the end of a tough day.” At that Jen left. I leave my bag.

“Jen, wait, wait!”

“I'm sorry Y/N, I can't do that. If you want to stay, great, but I can't. I'll see you later.” She turns to leave. 

“Jen!” I sadly go back to my space on the couch. I go to look at my notes when the space next to me gets seated. 

“You came.” I swung my head and CJ was right there. 

“Yeah, I did.”

“So, there's the coffee maker, and here's the mini fridge that definitely is working.” CJ tells me as he shakes his head, indicating sarcasm.

“Ha, and I definitely won't smell any weird smells from here.” 

“Yes definitely.” We both laughed and I looked at the window and it had gotten dark. 

“Wow, time really does fly.” 

“So, what made you want to stay?” He looks at me with those piercing green eyes.

“Because I know a place like this would have been amazing for me when I was younger, so If I can help someone avoid those feelings that I went through, then I'm for it a hundred percent.” CJ heard me and truly felt I meant it. 

“That's the same reason I did it.” 

“Really? That's so cool!” I exclaimed happily. “So, what do you do for fun? I haven't been here for long, so if you know of any places...” He thinks about it. 

“Yeah I mean the typical places like bars, clubs, parties.” 

“Would you want to go to one together?” I asked abruptly which I never did, especially with people I just met.

“I totally would, but it wouldn't be much fun.” 

“Why?” I asked. He hesitates for a second, pondering something.

“…I don't drink.” 

“Oh my gosh, that's amazing!” I heard what I just said and felt embarrassed. “I'm sorry, that sounded super weird, but I don't drink either.” 

“Wow, it's hard to find a college girl not drinking.” CJ searches my eyes.

“True, but it's what's best for me and I'm sure for you. What about this: we’ll be each other's sober buddies.” 

“Sober buddies?”

“Yeah, when we are at the same parties, we’ll make sure the other won't even look at drinks.” He thinks about it for a second and I look at the clock. “Shit I'm going to be late and then Audrey is going to kill me.” I grab my stuff and run to the door but before I leave I turn back. “CJ sober buddies?” He gives me a smirk and nods. 

“Sober buddies.”

Ok, I want to start off by saying that I am a fan of all arts and am so appreciative of the time, passion, and work that goes into any kind of content creation.

I am also very particular about when it comes to art. There are mangas, comics, animated works that I have difficulty reading/watching or will not read/watch if I'm not a fan of the art style.

And as an artist I understand that art is subjective and not everyone likes it. Just as I recognize that not everyone likes my particular art style and that's ok. (Not trying to have people come for me like I’m trashing Charlie’s art cuz I am 10000% not.)

Charlie does amazing work and I like it, but it's clear that her style has changed (as most content creators do) since the TLH portraits she did and the pieces that are going in the journal for CC's new kickstarter. I'm a self- taught artist so terminology isn't my best, but her style now is giving semi cartoon realism, but airing on the side of the cartoon more now.

I feel that my unpopular opinion is that I'm not a huge fan of it. I really like the TLH portraits she did of Matthew, James, Christopher, Thomas, ect, but idk there is something about these new portraits in her style that I'm just not liking. Her lines are much sharper now, darker, more profound and it feels like all of the face shapes/ jaw lines are basically the same (and I know I have no room to talk since I draw in an anime style so one could argue all my lines look the same).

and I'm NOT saying that they are carbon copies. Jem clearly looks different from Will down to his eye shape which is amazing and looks great. But idk...maybe part of my disliking is also the inconsistencies? and I'm using that term lightly...but like

Clary's hair looking straight when it's very canonly curly. Alec and Magnus having basically the same haircut... (I’m not the best person to speak on Dru…but CJ’s flower card is different and feels more like how she’s described on the book). The lack of and absence of runes... and I know all of that can be personal preference/stylistic choice. After all, art is subjective and based off of the artist's interpretation (for the most part anyway) but I'm a stickler for details so it bugs me…

And I just liked the softness/ more realism style of the previous portraits Charlie has done for TSC than these newer ones. These new ones are nice and I do like them…just not as much…and there are some that I don’t like at all.

i will say that you really shouldn’t take everything said in the analysis/explanation provided by others to be end all be all because a lot of the album is very up in the air and open to personal interpretation. even a lot of the core ideas we’ve managed to establish are debatable in the long run, and there’s always a different, entirely defendable idea. but i’m sure you knew that already.

take as much time as you need with the post and absorbing the album, though i will hazard to ask what your favourite song would be so far? can’t help the curiosity lol :]

Oh don't worry, I checked several theories and, in the end, I don't have a specific one. However, some theories are definitely more valuable than others - I mean, the lyrics themselves make some elements very clear.

Speaking of the songs, a few got my attention, sure: Dream surprised me with the unexpected cacophony and became instantly captivating. Mucka Blucka first shows a clearer separation between voices, so it's very interesting to listen to it. Night is just so good it keeps getting stuck in my head every time I listen to it.

Also, The Mind Electric, The Soul Eclectic and The Bidding are a great triptych, especially because they come one after the other. (And yes, I know the real triptych is The Heart Acoustic, The Mind Electric and The Soul Eclectic, but the one about the Heart is too far from the other two.)

But actually, every song from the album is amazing and worth of attention. Each of them has a line I liked, a detail I enjoyed, a rhythm that stuck in my head. Each and every song is filled with love, care and attention.

So it's not a matter of which one I like: it's more of a "which ones I listen to more", because they are all great. Maybe, of course, I listen to the Calamity and Cacophony parts more than the Concord part, but the Concord songs are so intimate and personal, they deserve some recognition as well.

I like the contrast of Percy and Jason because like Percy is the type to put the lives of those important to him over the greater good, whereas Jason, the sample of a great leader and a warrior of the greater rulers (the gods) he is, somehow is the best fit to make the hard decisions, if need be.

Both are heroes, in their own ways. Technically, Percy is like the shounen anime protagonist type - ya know, the one who solves everything with the power of friendship? While Jason leans more towards the major secondary character who acts like his rival/opposite to accentuate all Percy’s lovable traits.

It appears that someone like Percy Jackson would be the better choice for a friend - as in, the personal sense? And he is. But Jason posses what it takes to be the one who decides. Jason makes it life-like - when there’s shit that you cannot solve by love or whatever abstract thing you can come up with. It’s kinda the same to CHB vs CJ - one is, technically, a summer camp, a fun childhood dream, while the other is everything of a military camp, a real city.

I’m not saying that makes Jason better than Percy, or Jason is anything less reliable than Percy. I’m saying they have their own roles and they bring different messages to me, and thus I like their contrast dynamics.

I, though, personally absolutely enjoy watching the world burn. So there’s that. Maybe that’s why I’d take Jason’s side every time in the day

But anyway I say they should fight each other and then kiss.

So instead of taking a purple-haired girl and whover she runs with (Isle novella), or simply taking randomly-chosen children of major villains that approximately match him in age (D1) and going for a shock therapy I guess, he reaches out to Dr Facilier, the headmaster of Isle's biggest school.

(Not to Yen Sid, because I have no idea who the fact is that and he sounds suspicious anyway.)

So Ben, the soon-to-be boy-king, sends a message about his first official proclamation to the Dragon Hall.

Now, Doctor Facilier's objective is „get my kids out of there as soon as and not fuck it up for the other ones,“ which, you know, sensible enough. Good for him.

He asks Harriet and Anthony to his office, to discuss the matter, as they are more of an unpaid help than students anyway. He shows them the envelope.

„So, the Beast is dead?“ asks Harriet, which, again, sensible reaction, because why the fuck would you name a sixteen years old a king anyway.

„Unfortunately, no.“ (Which is why we can't afford to fuck this up.)

„...Shame,“ both of them sight at the same time. Dr F can't say he disapproves of that sentiment.

They look over the text for some time.

„Who is comming over?“ Anthony asks, as if he didn't care in the slightest. Honestly, Facilier is kind of surprised they hadn't made a grab for the invite yet, to get it for them and their families.

„My daughters,“ he says.

„It says four people,“ Harriet says, „With the hope of bringing more over if the first four prove that they can give up their villianous ways.“

Yeah. And what's her point?

„...You do know that your daughters would level Auradon in between them, right?“

„Excuse me?!“ His daughters do have self-preservation instincts, thank you very much.

She only lifts one eyebrow at him and jerks her head in the direction of distant explosions. ...Which are most likely caused by CJ Hook (which Harriet conveniently ignores for the moment), Zevon, and, yeah, his Freddie. Those other two are bad influence, but yes, point taken.

„Celia then. Freddie comes over in the next round.“

„Fair enough. Who's coming with her?“

In that moment, he makes the decision: „You two should come. You want the little ones out as much as I do. Oh, and you will take care of my daughter, unless you want to experience the other side, first hand.“

„Wouldn't dream of doing otherwise.“

Great, he still has it.

But, of course, there is still one spot left. Dr F leans back as they stare at it, and then at each other. This is not his problem anymore.

Harriet bites her lip: „...I want to take CJ,“ she says, her hand in a fist, „but...“

Facilier watches in amusement as Anthony briefly covers her hand with his own, and really, shame he won't see how this will play out. Celia will keep him informed, he is sure.

Eventually, they decide to take Dizzy, because she is the least murder-prone out of their relatives, and also friends with Celia. Oh, and Auradon will adore her, with her colourful dresses, sparkly tiaras and unnatural cheerfulness.

That can only be beneficial.

(Not CJ, for obvious reasons. After her fun trip, there wouldn't be much of Auradon left.)

(Not Harry, because he'd refuse to leave without Uma and their crew, and also because he might just hook the Beast, which, fajr enough, honestly.)

(Not the Smee twins, because you don't split up twins.)

(Not Sammy, because Harriet needs them to run the crew and ship in her absence. And look after CJ – Nothing to envy here. Absolutely nothing.)

(Not any other of the Tremaine cousins, as they might just throw themselves at all princess and princesses in sight, which, not a good idea in the long run, or stab when they are looked at. Generally depends on... Actually, neither Dr F nor Anthony are sure. They don't intend to find out.)

(Not any of the younger ones, either, because they picked up the stabbing habit, and also, highschool.)

Now, here is how it went down in the port:

[Several minutes of stabby Sammy Smee trying to track down the two younger Hooks]

Harriet: „Harry, CJ, I'm going to Auradon for a while.“

CJ and Harry: „What?! When-?! Unfair!“

Harriet, paying them no mind: „If it all goes well, we will be able to get you and the other kids out of there very soon.“

CJ: „Why can't I go now?!“

Harriet: „Because you'd blow something up and get sent back. Also, we need to make a good impression.“

Harry: cackles

CJ: „Hey! I can behave if I want to!“

Harriet:

Harry:

CJ: „...Fine. Point taken. But they'd deserve it.“

Harry: „And why can't I go?“

Harriet: „Would you? Alone?“

Harry: „...Point taken.“

Harriet, sighting: „That's what I thought. Meanwhile, do not die, try not to kill too much people, and remember, no open fire in the port.“

And by the Tremaines:

Anthony:„Dizzy, you are going to Auradon.“

Dizzy: „I am?!“

Anthony: „Yes. Go pack your things.“

Lady Tremaine: „Where are you going and where are you taking her?! Who will run the saloon?!“

Anthony: „You could do it, for a change, grandmother. It is in your name, after all.“

Lady Tremaine: „You-!“

Anthony: „Yeah, no. We are staying in the port until we go. Don't try to reach us.“

So, you know.

No one dies.

(That's always worth mentioning with the Hooks.)

Celia and Dizzy spend the remaining days on the Isle trying to get Harriet and Anthony to confess their love and ideally also to get Sammy to officiate their wedding. CJ helps, of course, but turns out she and Dizzy don't agree on the methods.

Anyway, the day of departure is there, the limo comes, same old, same old.

The goodbyes contain last reminder to „not murder anyone, or at least not to get caught,“ (the Hooks, on both sides), „Have fun,“ (the Faciliers, and it's terrifying), and promises to send a lot of letters and dresses and tiaras (Dizzy).

In the limousine, Anthony reminds Dizzy to not stuff herself silly with chocolate or at least wipe her face properly for god's sake, and Harriet swallows her remark that it might be poison. (She is reasonably sure that tea time with poison is not exactly normal. Won't stop her from being paranoid, though.)

Finally, they arrive to Auradon Prep, and, oh my god, the music.

What on earth is that music.

It's illegal, that's what it is.

The limo stops.

The music, unfortunately, does not.

Anthony is the first to climb out: he opens the door right into the driver's face and then he is in Auradon, the colourful kingdom of pixie dust and other glass shoes and other such insanities: Dizzy is gonna love it here.

But meanwhile, why is the world so bloody bright?!

Seriously, his eyes hurt.

And not only from the onslaught of honestly offensive pastels.

He turns around and offers his arm to Harriet to help her climb out of the limousine, as a proper gentleman, and it's only basic etiquette, really.

...Ignore Dizzy and Celia giggling.

Harriet steps out into the sun, mutters a soft „fuck“ and blinks a few times; she also keeps her hand on his for slightly longer than reasonable, but he is pretty sure no one in Auradon notices that kind of stuff. Or cares.

Either way.

They take a few steps forward, to allow the younger girls to climb out too and also to create a barrier between them and the crowd with their bodies.

Dizzy and Celia hold onto eachother for support, too, Dizzy a bit overwhelmed, but Celia seems to glow under the crowd's attention. (She has also managed to draw a totally unnatural shadow over hers and Dizzy's eyes.)

Now, a boy steps forward and introduces himself as Ben.

So this is prince Ben. How... Intriguing.

„Right,“ Harriet says, and then leans to whisper into Anthony's ear: „How old is he again?“

Of course, being the drama queen she is, she stage-whispers loud enough for the majority of the crowd to hear.

„I believe he is sixteen,“ Anthony answers, ignoring the boy-king, and actually quite amused at the expression the princess by his side is making, thanks for asking.

„Pfff. Just a baby,“ Harriet snorts, „Teenage boys shouldn't be in charge of anything, much less a kingdom.“

„You wound me, Harriet.“

„Anyway, as I was saying,“ interrupts the boy-king rather awkwardly, „I'm Ben, and-“

„Prince Ben, actually!“ the pink princess on his arm is much better at interruptions than he is, „Soon to be king!“

Anthony can see the willpower it costs Harriet not to roll her eyes, and, honestly, same.

„And I'm princess Audrey!“

So this it the game they want to play?

Fine.

He glances at Harriet and she nods subtly.

Let's dance, then.

He smooths out his suit and steps forward; he takes the shallowest bow he can afford, one that could be interpreted as much as an insult as a sign of respect.

„I'm Lord Anthony Tremaine,“ he introduces himself, and takes pleasure in the gasps of the crowd; then he moves on to introduce Harriet, as a proper gentleman should: „And this is Captain Harriet Hook of Scattered Hope.“

He takes extra care to stress her title.

She doesn't bother to as much as angle her head.

He introduces his cousins, too, as „Lady Desdemona Tremaine,“ („I go by Dizzy, actually!“ she beams at the crowd), and then Celia, who doesn't have any titles as far as he is aware of, but who has perfected the art of creepy waving and eerie smiles.

Good for her.

Now, hete comes the fun part: when the Isle kids hear „Captain Hook,“ they think of Harriet and her safe ship more often than not.

On the other hand, when the Auradon citizens hear „Captain Hook,“ a shiver runs down their spines as they remember her father.

Which is, of course, why Harriet insists on being addressed as „Captain Hook“ at every possible occasion.

Yes, even in the bullshit that is Fairy Godmother's Remedial Goodness class.

FG:„Miss Hook?“

Harriet: „...“

FG: „Miss Hook!“

Harriet: „...“

FG, sighting: „Captain Hook, your answer to following question?“

Harriet: „When I see a baby on the street, first I check whether it is a trap or not, so I take my cutlass out and poke at the shadows a bit and maybe threaten a few people. If no one shows up, I check my pockets. Then I give the baby to Sammy to take to the ship and track down that bastard that abandoned a baby. Or murdered its mother, in which case I've got another stupid murderer at my hands, and need to deal with that, too, on top of somehow getting baby formula and deciding which one of my crew will get stuck carrying for it. Does that answer your question, Fairy Godmother?“

FG: „...“

Harriet and Anthony: smile sweetly

And, of course, they get into moderately heated discussion with King Beast, which Lumiere later describes as "the shouting match a the decade".

Upon exiting his office, Anthony asks when they are going to shout at him for real;

„Just wait until my sibling get there,“ answers Harriet, „Especially CJ.“

And Anthony smiles, because he finds the image of Harriet's tiny half-way feral sister yelling at King Beast as amusing as she does.

(It happens, btw. CJ yelling at him. She needs to drag a stool over to look at him straingh, which is hilarious as it is, nevermind that the former king doesn't run because he doesn't know what is good for him.)

Shortly after the first debate, the rest of the Isle kids are brought over.

Happy end!

Also, here, enjoy some fun facts:

Anthony is an only son of a french noble family that likes to think itself better than it is. Harriet is the eldest daughter of an English noble and an Eton graduate. Of course they know etiquette. And they are not afraid to weaponize it.

They are also nineteen years old. Surrounded by sixteen years old royals that have never once prepared a breakfast in their lives. They are tired.

Rules? What rules? You mean those things we have memorised so we can break them better?

Anyway, curfew, that is, like, a suggestion? Right?

Meaning, Harriet has insomnia and Anthony is not leaving her alone. They are found wandering the school grounds more often than not. Well, they are not found, as the school security sucks.

Also, Harriet has some things to say about Lonnie being Ben's only bodyguard. As has Anthony. And Celia.

She just stares at the people that told her and goes: „Well that's bloody stupid.“

„Language, Celia!“

Also, both Harriet and Anthony reflectively (and preventively) reprimand the AKs and order them around.

„Careful in those high heels, the pavement down there is broken. Are you prepared to drop them if you need to run?“

„If you want to steal the knives, hide them better.“ („I was just trying to... I was just trying to butter a toast?“)

„Don't stab eachother in the halls, please.“

(As I said, they are tired.)

None of the Isle kids wear the uniforms. Anthony and Dizzy think they are a crime against nature, Harriet doesn't care enough, and Celia complaints that it doesn't fit her aesthetic.

Harriet wears her red cloak. It flares around her when she marches down the hall and she enjoys the manner in which the AKs get out of her way.

Anthony calls her „Ettie“ in public precisely one (1) time. She reacts by saying that she will dismember him and use his bones to create a tinker toy to hang above his youngest cousin's crib.

Oh, and Anthony gets a look at the financial management of the kingdom. You wouldn't believe how bad it is.

Yeah, he and Harriet are totally dating. As in, established relationship, but they refuse to acknowledge it.

Also, Dizzy and Celia are crushing at eachother a bit. (They are, what, thirteen? That happens, right?)

I ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY LOVE the concept of ‘Donnie needs to see the bad in order to quell his mind and prepare for all the situations and that Leo would get so lost with the doom’. So they would come together, support each other, and tell each other what they’ve seen, as to give their twin what they need to hear. It’s so absolutely beautiful imo. The idea that Donnie had all of his recordings for Leo to watch once he died would be devastating, because imo the seer thing would force them to be even closer with each other and they’d have an even greater bond. Plus they’d probably get into more disasters because of the visions which would make their nickname all the more applicable.

If there’s rumor that Master Leonardo has visions of the future, is there anything for Master Donatello? Because the line about Donnie’s future self giving him lottery numbers like he’d asked- is in my mind is if he’d always been able to see the future is that him just trying to deny the future and the visions a final time as he stares upon a kid that he saw grew up while he dreamt? Would the future lotto ticket line make Casey pick up on anything because of it?

And i think him denying it based off the lack of Lotto numbers really would be him still trying to deny the future visions stuff. Like there's this kid, sitting right there in front of him. He's seen him grow up in both Leo's and his own dreams, and now he's right there telling them the world is going to turn into Leo's nightmares (not in as many words but yeah) if they don't help him stop it. I don't think CJ would pick up on anything from that line though. He wasn't even aware Future Leo had future vision and Donnie was better at hiding his then Leo was. It's probably not until Donnie starts using the nickname he isn't supposed to know, that CJ realizes Donnie knows more than he's saying.

Even though it’s not until tomorrow I’m feeling pretty good and wanna focus on something that makes me happy soooo wrestling. Gonna just put everything under the cut cause it’s a lot of matches and I have thoughts.

Why are we having a battle royale for the PPV this coulda been a womens match. Oh or a women’s battle royale. I have no idea who in this but since Lee Moriarty isn’t already on any posters for this PPV I want him to win. Scorpio sky should not be in this or wardlow just no neither should go near this belt again. Also is Chuck healed yet? I’ll also accept Chuck winning

The dream is for Yuta to walk out with two belts. Realistically, never gonna happen. Hook has never lost clean and after the last loss he shouldn’t lose to shenanigans again. What I do want is for Yuta to bring the monster out of hook. I want this to be a blood bath and for both of them to get the crowd on their feet and chanting fight forever. I want when this match is over for the ftw belt to mean the bloodiest hardcore shit in aew. Hook is most likely winning this but I want it to feel deserved.

Andrade lost the c2 and with CJ still gone after the infection/surgery it would make sense for him to lose because she’s not around to cheer him on and manage him to greatness. This should be miros match to win but it would be great if Andrade mimicked some of miros moves making it seem like CJ might have taught Andrade her own husbands stuff. That’s for commentary to put over but if it’s the usual folks I doubt they’d do that and will most likely be talking about what they had for lunch 🙄

So originally it was gonna be Kyle but I guess now we’re getting Takeshita. Which to me means they didn’t want the losing team to be3 people with belts so they moved him out. Hopefully it’s that and not an injury. Either way fuck this match Takeshita shoulda been in the battle royale. The only good thing about this match is Ricky and Will (Hobbs) being on the same team again and it could be interesting seeing them move fluidly together and Bill like 👀 are you trying to take a big booty princess???? I Was Screaming Your Name Through the Radio spoilers

My grandmother passed recently.

Two days ago.

I'm continuing IWSYNTtR with my fiancé, but we reached this scene:

I haven't cried about her passing.

I've refused to cry or go too deep into thought or conversation about it.

But this broke me.

I've dreamed of doing this for years, but now, with the thought brought back and having just lost someone I knew so well and loved so much even if I've been an asshole, I finally broke down over the actual thought of genuinely considering trying this.

I relate to it too much.

She was just a nice woman, who tried to be patient and helped teach me even when that was a tough time in both of our lives.

I lost my cousin, i got into two car accidents, and she... had to fight leukemia.

She fought for her husband, her granddaughter, all of her children and grandchildren, and her mother who was dying and then her mother in law passing a few years later after just having lost both my great grandfathers from that side of the family.

And I was an undiagnosed autistic piece of shit.

I didn't know I was trans yet and grew up in an honestly homophobic environment my whole life surrounded by hypocritical liars, so as I've gotten older all the fond memories I have of everyone become blurred; it almost feels like Epic Mickey or Bendy and the Ink Machine where these precious comforting memories are permanently tainted with ink and forever lost to me... or I just reject them, refusing to acknowledge their real worth to me anymore.

I was a dick to her.

I never had the energy for anything...I still barely do anymore

but I refuse to let this be the end of her memory, and I refuse to let it bring me down.

But fuck it if it doesn't still hurt as hell.

Anyways, tl;dr:

Do you have any headcanons about Wendy Darling (and her daughter Jane) in the Descendants universe?

Full disclosure, I don't like Peter Pan. The story and the character. Don't ask me why, I just don't. Same with Pinocchio. Funnily enough, one of my favourite Italian singers, Edoardo Bennato, made an album for each so my ideas of the characters tend to be influenced by his view. I don't know if it's good or bad. Also, I don't remember the second movie at all, except the fact Jane was a relatable character although annoying at first.

Anyway, Wendy Darling.

The Darling siblings put aside their adventure in Neverland after going back home. It was like a weird dream to them, it didn't quite feel real. It taught them a lot and they remember it all happening, but they left it behind, as children often do with formative experiences.

Peter stopped wanting to see her when she became taller than him, he took it as a sign she was a grown-up and was outraged Wendy chose that. She was sad for a while but decided it was okay. Peter would never grow, but she was ready to.

The second movie didn't happen, the war that took Wendy's husband away for a long time did neither. The Darling siblings were marginally involved in the Great Auradon Conflict after the Villains were revived, but that was before Jane was born. Hook saw that Peter didn't care about the Darlings anymore so he let them go after kidnapping them once. After, Wendy still volunteered to help during the conflict, but from the sidelines. This earned her a place among the Heroes, although she isn't considered one of the major ones, and attended Auradon Prep with the princesses.

So! Wendy grew up, became a novelist, and got married to a man who accepted her unusual way of being a lady, because Wendy never quite became like other young ladies of Little London, even if she was greatly respected thanks to her reputation.

Jane (and Danny) grew up with a genuine fear of pirates but that was about it. Her mother's stories were like those of everyone else in Auradon, comforted by the fact all Villains were on the Isle of the Lost. She ended up on Neverland, at some point, but only because Peter heard of her existence and was curious, hence "invited" Jane and Danny - it was more a kidnapping - to Neverland, where she met the fairies and Lost Boys.

When that happened, Wendy rushed to Neverland to take back her kids, she scolded Peter very hard and tried to make him understand how his actions were wrong. Now that she was older and with children of her own, it was easier to find the right words to make him understand stuff he never learned of. She figured out his abandonment issues and promised to go visit him from time to time. Jane, who started to like him too, in a way, did the same.

Jane went to school with the first wave of Hero Kids (Li'l, Derek, Arabella...), not the current one. It means, by the time the VKs arrive, she's not at Auradon Prep anymore.

Jane and Wendy butted heads about Ben's decree at first because of their opposite ideas on nature vs nurture. Wendy thought all kids only need someone to teach them, Jane saw that no matter how hard they all tried to reign in Peter, he never got better. In fact, Jane may be the only one who recognizes the mean streak inside Peter and thinks he's not the hero everyone thinks he is. She's his friend in a more genuine, less idealistic way than any of Peter's other friends ever was. If Peter will ever choose to grow up, it will be because (or for) of Jane.

That said, Jane isn't against the VKs, in general, or them coming to Auradon. She only thinks if some of them are genuinely mean-spirited, they'll stay so even in a better place, but she also thinks they deserve a chance to show who they are before they are judged.

Jane will get along with Harriet quite fine, as Harriet is the proof she needed that not all people are doomed by their character. If she had met Harry first, she may have never changed her mind, though.

Also, she thinks CJ is as mental as Peter and is glad the two of them don't like each other because Auradon would be doomed if they paired up.

Is it bad if it's good?

(An opinion piece with no sources to cite, though CJ the X and Mia Cole's videos, along with lots of movies and conversations have played a great part in the making of this opinion.)

Two sides - art theft: what is generated is based on existing art that is used without the consent of the artists nor giving credit to them - that is absolutely and totally wrong.

- art is human: what is art, what makes art art are questions I hope we never find a definite answer to because human's curiosity about its own experience doesn't seem it could be satiated or satisfied - that is what I call "soul", that is, as an artist and a person, where I place my "faith", in human's hunger, in its yearning for something bigger than it can conceive but can somewhat "feel".

Now AI doesn't have what we would call a soul, it's non-human and therefore it feels intuitive to say it cannot make art; to a certain degree I agree but. As non-human as it is, it is human made. It's by humans, for humans, with humans, all these having soul and intent. And in that what it produces cannot be without soul, it is the result of desire, it's what humans are made of.

A friend of mine tried to use ChatGPT, asking advice about their own situation - more as an experiment, but damn, the answer was good. It felt good. It felt human. It felt like it understood.

And knowing it doesn't can feel bitter.

But on the other hand, thinking that we, as a species, documented our experiences and feeling with such devotion and in such quantity that a computer-thing can dig into this mass of soul and be trained to find the appropriate bits to bring back, to think that our collective experiences could be a database accessible by any other human through an AI, isn't it a bit beautiful in itself?

Now of course it's going to be used in service of the capital, because that's the system we live in, and it's not going to be fair.

If AI can generate art, then the art piece has at least three authors, the person coding the thing so that it does what the person using the thing wants it to do, the person using the thing and the person who is used as data. And if everyone agrees, I think it might be great, actually.

I think when we do art we are trying to express our soul, I think we seek for it to resonate with other people, and though we did agree to send it into the world we didn't agree to be dispossessed of it and used, and I think AI might learn to be good at recognizing patterns of "resonating souls/reactions to art" in a way that in an ideal world it might make a poem on the spot for what you are feeling, and that doesn't make it a poet, nor you, but that makes it a tool that makes it obvious your species have been feeling what you are feeling forever, that your species have been using poetry to try and express that forever, that you are human, as in, a part of humanity, like... I don't know. I think it could be beautiful. I don't know if it will, I've had a bit too much wine, but I dream that it could.

Because none of the Ed/Izzy fic I write ever portrays Izzy as good, and none of it ever has Ed and Izzy ending up together, and I actively dislike fics with that ending. So like, why do you like the show? if portraying bad things is apologia then is not OFMD cannibalism apologia, is it not murder apologia. Oh yes... Jenny/Gibbs, NCIS. I had ships before that (Indiana Jones/Marion Ravenwood comes to mind) but this is the one that got me into fanfiction. The thing is, I had a huge crush on Lauren Holly, but I didn't know I was gay, so I was self-inserting as Gibbs. It was a whole thing. Lovely fandom though.

Now Person A is driving a taxi for a living and Person B is married and wealthy and neither of them is happy. They have an awkward cab ride and Person B says they should see each other again, which Person A doubts will ever happen. Person B leaves a large tip and Person A regrets letting Person B go. OPTIONALLY you can follow this up with a Sequel AU, where Person A returns to the same city ten years later, now successful, and finds Person B, who has gotten divorced and is no longer wealthy but is much happier. They finally have a heartfelt talk and, possibly, sex. The song doesn't end with them together but you can do whatever you want. I Wanna Learn a Love Song AU Person A is homeless and feeds themself by giving guitar lessons. Person B is married and well-off, but timid and sad. Their spouse seems somewhat threatening. Person B hires Person A for guitar lessons, and always wants Person A to play and sing for them. They slowly fall in love, and one week Person A arrives to find out Person B has kicked out their spouse. Person A stays.
