ghost isn’t close with tf141… including soap. now before you attack me let me explain. sure, he trusts them to some degree, but i dont think they naturally just hangout when they’re not deployed. in the end we need to understand they are SAS soldiers, they are working a real job that mainly consists of them shooting and dismantling others. considering ghosts betrayal in the past (in the comic, a few soldiers ghost previously worked with killed his entire family 😢) he isn’t gonna just trust his teammates because theyre his teammates. im also pretty sure they all live in different cities while not deployed. tf141 probably all want to separate their job from their personal lives, which includes each other. but onto soap, i dont think him and ghost have a deep brotherly relationship. but i think they care about each other, but exchanging some dad jokes and bantering doesn’t mean they’re suddenly soulmates or brothers. think about it… you and you’re co worker joke around sometimes, never hangout outside of work, and now people are shipping you and calling the two of you besties. makes no sense.

ghost is extremely patriotic. in the comic (i reference this way too much but theres SOOO MUCH LORE i recommend reading it) ghost tells his teammates the reason for joining the military: queen and country, right after 9/11. he also said “the world has changed”. interestingly enough army enlistment did actually skyrocketed after 9/11 attacks, ghost was among them. he probably thought ww3 was about to happen, or that ‘theres no more peace’ or whatever. i hc being obsessed with soccer too lmao and getting mad if english teams dont win. also his playful banter with johnny “get us a tea?”. probably very proud of his british heritage.

ghost doesn’t have much friends. hes a really, reallyyyyy lonely guy. i hc him as an introvert in the first place, but trust issues make this worse. in the comic, he was literally in the newspaper for killing his family and then killing himself (he didnt, he was framed that way tho) so its likely most of his formers friends probably think hes dead. ghost likely got some sort of amnesty or exemption from the military after knowing he didn’t actually kill his family, but whats in the news stays true to the public. even if he does have friends he probably doesn’t share feelings with them or form a long term bond.

ghost is extremely cynical. this is obvious tbh, but i think ghost believes hes going to die in the middle of a battlefield, shot or stabbed, a painful death, body left to rot for weeks, and no one to remember him. just like that. and he accepts that fact too.

ghost isn’t a picky eater. growing up in an abusive household where his parents couldn’t hold a stable job, he had to eat what there was. some days he settles for cheap beans and toast and when people call him out for it, he tells em to fuck off😀

ghost is emotionally fucked up, probably kind of depressed. i mean this guys been through hell: got sa’d, buried alive, had to dig through underground dirt and worms with a jawbone, tortured in horrible ways, had his entire family killed, abusive dad, and the weight of his grey morales because he killed lots of people as a soldier. wow! would you look at that list, itd be more strange if he wasn’t emotionally fucked up after was has happened😅. even when tortured, seeing his family dead, ghost was never shown to have cried in the comic. i hc hes emotionally numb. however, i do think hes emotionally MATURE and able to communicate his emotions, but hes still emotionally fucked. for example a scene where he was talking about his experience with roba (guy who tortured ghost) and ghosts father to a therapist. i think ghosts may be traumatized, but this doesn’t stop him from attempting to get help and communicating how he feels and thinks about this world.

ghost wears a mask... not because hes insecure and traumatized it's to separate ghost from simon riley. first of all he learned the consequences of revealing your identity during deployment, in the comic, he reveals his face in missions before his family got killed. i think he wears a mask because 1) its practical, no one knows who he is, 2) an analogy for himself to remind him simon riley, his original identity, was dead the moment his family was murdered, this SAS soldier with a skull mask is GHOST (yes this is canon, ghost references in the comic!).

in issue #1 while some kids were being held hostage, he starts telling his life story to them to calm them down/distract them from the bad situation. this is his explanation to why he wears a skull mask, word by word: "I bet you're wondering why I wear these bones on my face. It's a tribute to an old friend of mine. He's dead now, but man if he wasn't the baddest motherfucker on the planet."

in issue #6, when ghost was trekking through a jungle in the middle of nowhere attempting to kill roba (a drug lord that started this all, brainwashed soldiers to kill ghosts family), he was never caught. ghost himself, the narrator, says that "even for a single man to get through the jungle, the patrols, the wall, the security... well that man would have to be a ghost."

however, im still a little confused whether or not reboot ghost and 2009 have the same backstories. reboot ghosts mask is more realistic and his look is much more intimidating, his reason for wearing that kind of mask is probably psychological warfare (getting milena the financier to speak up about makarov). i think 2009 ghosts reason to wearing a mask is more personal compared to reboot.

BUT WHAT ABOUT AN S/O???

i think ghost is the guy to not have one in the first place. obviously. but i lowkey think if he had one and really liked them, he would commit. in fact i find it hard to imagine hes a player or isn’t serious about relationships. when his brother tommy got addicted to drugs and fucked up his life, simon quit the military until tommy got 100% better and married. yup. he stayed to help him recover, for years. thats how loving and committed this man is🥹🥹.

ghost would not cheat on his s/o. i can't stress how important this hc is, because it's so out of character for him to do so. sure, guys in the military statistically have higher divorce rates, incidences of infidelity, and much more red flag stuff, but knowing what happened to him, he would never do that. doesn't matter how stressed, lonely, sexually frustrated this man is; he would not cheat on his partner. this guy has been through far more stressful situations and got through it, you think hes gonna cheat because hes stressed because of work?

its not sunshine and rainbows or absolute toxicity being with him. it's not really a mix of both either. ghost isn't that princess treatment, super squishy and cuddly, sweet guy who likes fluffy stuff. he definitely isn't the toxic guy who leaves you with mixed signals either.

hes quite the gentleman when it comes to approaching relationships, hes seen how his dad treated his mom, and ghost wants to do the exact opposite. i believe ghost likes to use the traditional courting methods when dating someone: gifting flowers, paying for dates, holding the door open (ladies first typa guy!!), the old fashioned stuff. idk if i should point it out again but this guy DOES NOT FW modern dating practices, he wouldn't download dating apps, or start 'talking stages'. i dont think he would write love letters just because hes not very good at writing poetry or expressing his feelings in the first place.

theres still downsides to being with him. the long distance, the time being apart (months and months). but i dont think he'd go as far as being emotionally avoidant.

also something really random ive noticed is that 2009 and reboot ghost are very different, personality wise. i like to think that 2009 ghost represents simon riley much better, but the reboot ghost actually gives the essence and character of what a 'ghost' in the military is.

is actually confident hes not bad looking. dude, hes 6’2, in shape with a jawline🙄

i don't enjoy hcs of ghost being the scariest out of tf141 (appearance wise yes). but soap seems much more scary imo, he was the youngest guy to pass SAS selections in the history of the UK military, and was nicknamed soap because of fast and good he is at cleaning up 'messes' (basically killing people).

id arguably say ghost is the most compassionate out of 141, if we're talking about the OG 2009 one.

imagine the physiological mindfuck you could explore with this. one could even claim essentially akin to a curse, and for the super devoted ones like zhongli, i imagine it would hit so much harder. what do you mean his steadfast devotion was an illusion all along? what do you mean the fact that he can't get fully angry and not resorting to bury you ten thousand feet under is because he was cursed with this very predicament? why would you do this?

and then maybe you feel so bad that one day you just decide to use up all your power to erase this core trait from all lifeforms walking upon teyvat. due to the sheer scale of the action, i'd imagine it wouldn't be a stretch to result in your death. or at the very minimum a coma of sorts. (cliche i know but imagine the mental stress of it all for a moment. personally i'd go insane from the combination of guilt, impostor syndrome, doubting my self-worth 24/7, and paranoia. but if your mental fortitude can handle it then congrats ig)

a 'happy ending' alternative would be for your favorite to wake up the next day and realize what you've done... and yet instead of being glad that they were freed from the 'curse', all they felt was dread. they rush towards your side, fall onto their knees, and cradle your hand, their own ones shaking terribly.

DogDay x Reader

part 2 ----->

A/N: My HC is that DogDay has an adult inside of him, unlike Catnap.

“Congragulations! Your application was chosen, and you are now part of the Playtime Co family! Please review all the following information provided in this email.” was all that was said in a recent email I had gotten. Finally, after weeks of job hunting, I heard back from someone, and it only took them a day to respond! I briefly skimmed through the email, knowing it was just boring company policies. At the very bottom it said that my first day was tomorrow. Wow, they sure do not waste time. I set an alarm and went to bed early, excited about my new job.

When I applied, I put down that I did not mind working anywhere in the factory so imagine how surprised I was when I showed up, they told me I would be working down below in a room called ‘Playcare.’ In fact, it was highly requested that I was to be stationed there. They told me it’s where they house orphans. It’s fascinating that a factory that builds toys for kids has its own orphanage here, right in the factory! I was given a uniform to change into and the uniform was honestly quite cute! The shirt was a golden-brown color that smelled like vanilla, I was given a nametag with a sun pin attached and... a headband with dog ears the same color. I didn’t think much of it and just went to change before heading off to Playcare.

I stared in awe as I looked down below at Playcare. This place was huge! I still could not believe that little kids lived here. I looked around at all the buildings. There was a school, a circus tent, a few more buildings and right up top was where all the orphans lived. Seeing all of this gave me the vibe of that one anime called ‘The Promised Neverland’ but I soon laughed at the thought. Kids do not die here, no demons feed on their brains, they get adopted. Adopted.

As I exited the cable car, I was instructed to meet my boss inside of the Playhouse. While walking to the playhouse some kids would run up to me and call me ‘girl DogDay’ whatever that meant. I just smiled and waved at them before entering the Playhouse. I was not given a name for who my boss was but was just told that they would know what I looked like and would spot me. Lots of kids were in this area. All screaming and chasing each other. One of them grabbed my hand and said, “Hurry we have to hide before he finds us!” I had no time to protest as I was led behind some foam building blocks. “Um, who exactly are we hiding from?” I whispered back to the kid, might as well play along. “Shh. He has good hearing.” was all that the kid said before peeking over the blocks we were hiding at.

Two minutes went by before we both heard some footsteps approaching. “He’s coming! Run!” and then the kid ran into a slide and started to climb up. I laughed at the kids' action and started to get up before I felt breathing coming from above me. I slowly lifted my head up and was shocked to see a giant dog hovering above me. “Hiya Angel!” I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t say anything, I was in shock. This enormous dog that looks like a plushy is speaking to me. “I found you which means now you get to help out with catching everyone!” The dogs tailed wagged. I stood up and got a good look at this...dog thing. He was tall, around 8 ft. He had a pendant in the shape of a sun, and he smelled like vanilla. Oh, that’s what the kids meant earlier by ‘girl DogDay,’ this is DogDay. “Come on Angel, I know if we work together, we can find all the kids before time is up” and then DogDay ran on all fours like an actual dog, in search of the other kids.

I think it was safe to say that DogDay found the rest of the kids while I just knew of the one that was with me before was hiding at. As we made our way back to the entrance, I noticed the kids laughing and trying to climb onto DogDay. Maybe he’s been with them forever and that’s why they don’t seem terrified by a dog that stands 8 ft tall. DogDay looked over and saw me and the last kid approaching and waved at us. The other kids stopped what they were doing and looked in my direction. In unison they all screamed “Girl DogDay is here!” I smiled sheepishly and waved at them. “Hi there....” Did these kids know about me? DogDay then put down some kids that he was holding and walked over to me. “Sorry about that Angel, I told them that I was getting a helper the other day and they have been wanting to see you.” “Oh, that’s fine. Hey um DogDay was it? Do you happen to know who my boss is by chance? I was told to meet them in here.” The kids behind Dogday started giggling. “You’re looking at him Angel!”  

Huh? He’s joking right? This dog looking mascot is my boss?! DogDay then picked me up and hugged me tight. “We’re going to have so much fun working together Angel.” I could hear his tail wagging back in forth. He put me down and led me to the rest of the kids. “Kids, we have a new face joining us today. Why don’t you introduce yourself to us Angel.” I suddenly felt nervous. All these little eyes staring at me so excitedly. “O-okay, um well hi, my name is Angel- wait no” the kids started laughing. That wasn’t my name but hearing DogDay call me that this whole time just slipped out. DogDay was even laughing. I blushed in embarrassment. I cleared my throat and continued. “My name is Y/N, but I guess you could also call me Angel. I like to read, draw, um I guess sing, but I haven’t done it in a while. Umm, I’m 20 years old and my birthday is on November 14th and that’s pretty much it I think.”  

DogDay clapped and soon the other kids followed his lead. “Well put Angel, now it’s my turn, though I think I’ll let the kids introduce me.” All at once the kids started yelling over each other to tell me about him. “He’s the leader of the Smiling Critters!” “He smells like vanilla!” “Super strong!” “DOGDAY CALLED YOU PRETTY!!” “Okay! Thank you, Damian, no need to shout now friend.” The shift in DogDays attitude changed, he was the one that seemed nervous now. The kid that was hiding with me was named Damian. Dogday then cleared his throat. “Let’s all go outside and wait for KickenChicken now alright?” The kids yelled in delight and pushed their way out of the Playhouse. 

It was now just me and DogDay. “So, um I’m guessing you picked me to work here?” I tried breaking the awkward silence between us. I decided to not bring up the fact that he called me pretty, too awkward right now. DogDay then seemed to snap back into his cheery self. “Yep! I looked through a lot of applicants, but yours stood out to me.” It’s amazing that a toy factory lets a toy pick out an employer. DogDay then grabbed my hand and led me outside. “Come on, I’ll give you a tour of the place Angel.” I smiled and went along with him. I could see myself liking it here.

sylus isn’t very shy with compliments when it comes to you. he refuses to be stingy. he states, “well what purpose would i have keeping all these thoughts to myself when this is the kind of reaction i get from you?” (alluding to your flushed cheeks and the soft smile he is gifted. he would battle gods, maybe even pray to the lord himself if that meant he got to see even a glimpse of your smile.)

however, lately sylus has been very… distant. it’s not intentional at first, you think. it’s true he’s a very busy man, and yet he makes so much time to spend with you and cherish you. could it be you’re just being selfish? you chalk it up to him being overworked and busy, so you let it go. however, days go by and suddenly you’re notified by kieran that the boss must attend a gala tonight. however, you’re gently (not very, the twins are bad at this.) told that you will not be in attendance as his plus one— sylus simply was too busy to tell you.

but, you chalk it up to him being busy. it isn’t the first time the twins have ever delivered messages from sylus. it’s a common thing during the busy times. but, news like this? sylus wouldn’t ever send it to you like this. he has the decency to send a text message. but whatever, you let it go. a small part of your heart aches for him, to be in his arms and have him reassure you that he still loves and needs you at his side. but that’s far too selfish of a request.

however, the worst happens. you hear through the grapevine that mr. sylus was in attendance at a gala with a very gorgeous woman. with a bit of bribery and sweet tears, you manage to coerce one of sylus’s bodyguards to tell you who this woman was. hearing her name, you immediately recognized her.

she constantly made googly eyes at sylus during events, however you could tell she’s never racked up the courage to speak to him. your stomach knots and twists, bile rising in your mouth. a tight-lipped smile is what you give the guard and he shyly smiles back as he goes back to his duties.

you spend the rest of your day in your shared bedroom, tucked under the covers. your mind can’t help but wander. what is it about her that sylus thought she was a better fit to be perched in his arm? granted, she’s very pretty, she is rich. and based on pervious group conversations you’ve had with her, she seems to be very sweet and not the type to argue back with sylus like you.

you spiral down this whirpool. does sylus really not believe you’re suited for him? were all of those nights you spent in his arms, listening to his voice murmer sweet nothings in your ears all a lie? was the gorgeous ruby ring that sat on your finger mean nothing to him? tears boil in your eyes as you hug sylus’s pillow, inhaling his scent.

it’s faded, he hasn’t been home in days. the thought of him being just out of your reach causes you to break. thinking about all the praises all the other women in your circle spoke about “sylus’s new girl” make you want to hurl. they all pertain to just how gorgeous she is, how slim her figure was. that hurt most of all.

you’re aware that you’re not exactly the societal standard, but that didn’t matter. especially not when sylus loved you for how you were. he enjoyed pinching you, relaxing his body against your much softer and warmer one. but did he get tired of it? did he maybe realize that maybe those whispers that lingered around you were in fact true? is he disgusted by you?

unbeknownst to you, sylus has trudged his way into your bedroom. his hair is slightly disheveled and there remnants of someone’s blood under his fingernails. he’s beyond exhausted and all he wants to do is cuddle with his sweetheart.

to his surprise, he finds you curled into bed at eleven pm. you’re usually cooped up in the theater room, watching some sort of crime show or sitcom. to find you curled up like this worries him.

“sweetie?” sylus calls out to you, making his way towards the bed. you jolt up and look behind you and find your husband standing there, brows furrowed. the snot dripping down your nose, your glossy eyes has his heart lurching. instantly, he’s kneeling in front of you, slotted between your legs. his gloved hands caress your thighs, squeezing the flesh under his palms.

“what has happened? who or what has made you so upset, sweetie? tell me,” he urges you to speak, but all you can do is sob. incoherent words accidentally fall from your lips.

“you don’t” hiccup “love me.” sylus is confused, what are you talking about? of course he adores you! why else would be do all of this? why else would he slide a ring on your finger? why else would he adore you with the best quality night gowns, the softest jackets, and custom made jewelry? “she’s too pretty” your words are stuck in your throat, unable to escape no matter how much you fight it.

sylus grabs a hold of your wrists, and gently places them on your lap. he intertwines his hand with yours as you stupidly sob. with his free hand he cups your soft cheek, guiding your eyes to his.

“what on earth are you rambling about, doll?” there’s concern and confusion written all over his lips. that cute expression of his makes your heart jump. his eyes are so soft, the gentle cherry color in his eyes stares back at you.

“you don’t think im pretty?” the statement is phrased more as a question. you don’t even know what you’re talking about anymore. his expression and actions are making you falter, but you can’t help but feel self-conscious when you look down. the size of your thighs compared to his hands. granted, theyre a bit larger than his hands, but you think about how that other woman’s thighs were probably smaller than the width of his hands.

sylus lets out a chuckle in disbelief. his rests his forehead against one of your knees to laugh a little more.

“why are you laughing?!” his chuckle only makes you sob even more, chest tightening. sylus collects you in his arms and takes a seat on the couch in the bedroom. with you tucked away in your designated spot— his lap— sylus peppers kisses on your face to wipe away the tears.

his teeth can’t help but catch against the pillowy-feel of your cheeks as he nibbles part of it. you jolt, screeching.

“my love,” sylus mutters into the side of your hand. you sit on his lap, eyes still flooded with tears as sylus continues speaking, “im not very sure as to where you got this idea from, but i love you.” sylus cups your cheeks in his palm, forcing you to look up at him. he squishes your face together, chuckling at your cute pout.

he leans down to pull you into a kiss. his sneaky hands slide up your thighs, kneeding the skin under his palms befofe sliding them up to your hips. he enjoys the soft texture under his rough and calloused hands. to him, you’re like a warm and soft pillow he can selfishly press against himself. he loves the curves on your body. (he even finds himself toying with the pudge on your tummy. sylus goes as far as to teasingly nibble on your thighs when laying his head down on your lap.)

“there isn’t anything i don’t adore about you,” he whispers gingerly. he tucks a few strands of hair behind your ears, kissing your tears away. “sweetie, i love you. where is all of this coming from?”

you come to clean to sylus, expelling in anxious bits and pieces what has been consuming your mind these past few days. he doesn’t ridicule you, simply reassures you none of the adulterous things you’ve concocted in your mind has ever happened. sylus not even once ever looked at that woman that way. in fact, you’ve got it all wrong!

he didn’t even take the woman as his plus one. her mother, who eagerly encourages her daughter to flirt with married men, to start a conversation with sylus. the reason her mother assumed that their conversation was going well was because sylus had smiled as the woman had told a joke. (you find out from sylus that mephisto had told him you had spent over ten thousand dollars on his card at once store and he had smiled.)

so the mother took the initiative to spread a rumor around about sylus and her daughter. unfortunately, that rumor had circulated its way to you and by the time sylus had shut it down, it was too late.

“you see? i had never once thought about discarding you, darling. and i never will. if i ever dare think of something as ludicrous as that, please take my gun and shoot me.” he smiles as he speaks, pinching your side. your puffy eyes gaze into sylus’s as your cheeks flush in embarrassment.

“i love you. it doesn’t matter to me how you look, you will always be the most beautiful person to me, honey. i couldn’t even imagine loving another person besides yourself. i would rather die than ever love another,” he frowns slightly, “let alone cheat on you.”

you feel like an idiot. of course sylus wouldn’t do such a thing. he’s done so much to prove himself to you, why would it let it all go down the drain now?

“i’m sorry. i just didn’t know what to think,” sylus chuckles, pressing an exaggerated kiss to your lips as he tousles your hair. behind the curtain of your hair, you pout at him.

“silly thing. it happens to the best of us. but please, talk to me next time? i will always make time for you, even if i’m held at gunpoint— i’ll take my chances and answer the call.” you hit in him on the chest,

“dont say that!” a hearty laugh escapes sylus as he tightly holds you in his arms, leaning back into the chair. he tucks his chin on the tops of your breasts, kissing your shoulders and neck.

“i love you, sweetie. and i always will.”
