Tony and Bucky unintentionally start dating. Tony momma says "you found a life partner now let him breed you."

Tony horrified and even more confused. He just found out he was a little different person age 8 when he got slimy and all tentacle. Jarvis is the true MVP.

Bucky questioning if he can get Tony a bouquet of fishes drenched in mercury because tony is into that. Squids especially. Bucky didn't pay sam to let him use his boat to get the pretty space god interest.

Bucky definitely isn't having questionable thoughts about what those teeth do.

a fine selection of bonker facades from the DC suburbs

Howdy folks! In honor of Halloween, here are some of the scariest houses currently for sale in the ever-cursed suburbs of Washington, DC. It's been awhile since I checked in on this particular hotspot, and once more, it did not disappoint.

I'll just get this one out of the way. Long-time McMansion Hell-heads are well aware of this monster estate in Potomac, MD, once allegedly owned by a particular professional athlete who will not be named, because the house should suck on its own merit. The only nice thing I can say about this house is that the designers kept the materials and colors consistent, which adds some unity to what is, in reality, five turrets in a trench coat.

Some things, the economists tell us, are too big to fail. This is not one of them. Let's move on.

Many McMansions exist to mock the concept of architectural consistency and historical continuity. This is one of them. About every single type of expanded second-story window elaboration exists here: bay window, covered balcony, juliet balcony. None of them work. The house can't decide if its 19th century eclecticism or tony DC Georgian/Federal cocktail. The random cupola merely adds insult to injury.

I don't know where realtors learned how to do photoshop, but whoever taught them should have their Adobe licenses revoked. There's a certain type of McMansion I call a "hat house" - which is exactly what it sounds like. It's a house with multiple bays or masses and each has its own special hat. This is one of the most egregious examples because all of the hats are different shapes and scales. Not even the most Disney Theme Park pink sky and fairy lighting can mitigate the controlling aesthetic influence of hät.

No compilation of Bad Facades would be complete without at least one Frankentudor™. Rich people in America really like to harken back to the days of feudalism, yet uglier, more drab, and using materials mostly derived from petrochemicals. The lighting is not helping this house, which is about as gloomy, hulking, and bloated as they come.

I have some fondness for houses that derive new, inventive forms of being ugly. The spread eagle McMansion is one of them, two oblique wings with no real core. A corner lot specimen. This one is especially weird, with the quadruple portholes, the windowless bays, the mall foyer, and the hipped roof that's not quite clipped, complete with tacked on gables. Kind of neat, sad to say.

I know most of you won't agree, but I actually believe this is the worst McMansion of the set. The absolute banality of it, the out-of-proportion everything, the compound-like demeanor, the nonsensical spacing of the mind-numbingly identical windows. The most infuriating part is that whoever designed this had some kind of order, continuity, proportion in mind and just failed utterly at it, like Sideshow Bob stepping on all those rakes. I hate it!!!!

When rich people try to make overly-inflated temples to their dumb piles of money, it's deeply satisfying when they end up looking like this house, which is just a pile of roof and wall tacked on to the worst proportioned portico imaginable. Classic McMansion Hubris. Let us all laugh.

Now we're getting into the more eldritch horror part of the list. Some houses make me wonder if I have the same set of eyeballs and conceptions of what "a house" looks like as other people. This one is playing dress up games with foam stickers. It looks like Steve's shirt from Blues Clues. It abuses the prairie muntins, which is an insult to my chosen hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Bad house.

Not enough time is devoted on this blog to bad modernism, though it would be rather generous to call this house modern. It's more like postmodernism trying to remember what modernism looked like and tripping down a flight of stairs collecting random masses and windows on the way down. Houses like this give modern architecture a bad name. It's borderline libel. Also it looks like it was made out of cardboard.

This brings us to our final, and objectively worst house:

I don't even know what to say about this freak of architecture. I don't know how it came together or why. I don't know what it wants or even pretends to do. It is a horrorshow. Gables protruding from random places, stealth roof fragments, windows too small for the walls they're embedded in, a weird cathedral-like entrance, the mosquito-infested pond, the worst example of realtor sky I've ever seen, all of it is terrible. It's haunted. Trick or Treat, but without the treat.

DP X DC/Marvel Prompt 1#

sooo I've had this mind obsession about giant fluffy monsters so why not jam Danny and DC/Marvel into this mess to make a cool prompt?

Summary: Danny's been sealed away in an ancient temple. someone (could be a hero or a scientist that deals with ancient stuff, i forgot what they're called) finds the entrance but cant go past that. they call Batman/Tony and/or Constanaine/Dr.strange for help(probably along with one of the batkids or Spiderman). Chaos ensues.

What exactly happened to Danny: Danny's been sealed away in an ancient temple during a a time mission from CW that caused him to go in his eldritch horror form and getting sealed away in a temple using chains and of course: Blood blossoms but not to the extent that they continually hurt him, just enough to keep him sealed away, after all: if you hurt a baby ghost, it probably wont end well.

Note: this can be ghost king danny if you want.

Wang (i think that was his name? the guy that always doubts dr.strange but helps him anyways) has picked up a strange magic signature somewhere around Egypt, after he decided to go and investigate himself, he found an entrance to a sealed ancient temple with a few dead bodies nearly hidden by sand. When he tried to enter, he felt death magic pulse through him and he quickly moved his hand away, whatever was in there, whoever put the seal on this temple wanted to either keep whatever's outside out... or whatever's inside in. he didnt like this not one bit, he does the one thing that would make sense (kinda in his deep opinion): he goes to Steven Strange.

"So your telling me, that you found an ancient temple that's radiating 'infinite realm' kind of death magic and tried to enter it ON.YOUR.OWN?" Strange said rubbing his nose bridge with a sigh. "I dont get whats wrong with that? Death magic's still magic and you two are wizards." Tony said raising a judgemental eyebrow at Strange.

"yes thats true, BUT, infinite realm magic's not like normal magic, not even normal death magic." Wang explained raising a finger at the 'but'. "so? its still magic? or does it have diffrent properties?" Peter, tired of only listening decided to start asking some questions to understand the situation better.

"to understand infinite realm magic, first you need to know what are the infinite realms" Strange countered with a heavy tone, looking at Tony and Peter.

"Strange, we are not to speak of the dead so openly" Wang hissed turning to look at Steven. "oh come on, they're gonna find out eventually and you know it, better they know or one of them gets killed trying to find out." Strange said furrowing his brows glancing around him as if expecting something to attack him. Wang only grumbled sitting on a chair that was not there before.

"the infinite realms is a realm between worlds, like a pocket dimension. it is also known as the realm of the dead, the realm of ghosts, souls, and spirits. it is neither heaven or hell, it is were the dead go when they have too strong obsessions that keep them going, it is where the dead go when they don't want to let go of their life. it has its culture, rulers, ghost types, Gods and Goddesses called Ancients, islands of different shapes and sizes. it also has: A Ghost King, one who rules all the kingdoms, tribes and all ghosts in the infinite realms. they have the title of High King. They run on a substance called ectoplasm, which can be considered the main source of infinite realm magic.

Do not mess with the dead and they will not mess with you. Don't engage with infinite realm inhabitants because the risks are far too high. The last high king was Piriah Dark, he went mad and devoured worlds, not much is known about the new High King, all we know is that he was only around 2 death years old which in on its own baffling." Strange said crossing his arm, his voice was heavy with danger and seriousness.

"so we DON'T mess with the temple?" Peter asked curiously. "..." Wang and Strange didn't know how to answer that.

You have to hit them over the head with a sledgehammer. And then you'll find… you have their strict attention." Neon crosses, sex and debauchery, the underbelly of a city. The unnamed city that doesn't exist, but everyone can identify. "Mankind is good, and worth fighting for. I agree with the second part."

We Happy Few: Using happiness and suppression to hide your trauma. Attacking those who don't conform. The sinister fear behind every over-stretched smile. 60s vibes, but forever tainted by 30s and 40s events because the people never moved onward. Muttering to oneself in mourning of the memories you cant remember forgetting.

Bioshock: "No gods or kings, only man." Freedom of expression, but a violent hatred of the beings who control it regardless of the context they're in, like religion and education. Sander Cohen. Art at any cost. Transformation, puppets on strings, playing your part on a stage and diverting from the script. The neon glow of the 60s nightlife, but waterlogged and destroyed by time.

It Follows: A creeping monster that can only walk, but will never stop. Pass it on through acts of sex and debauchery. Vibrant red blood in a glowing blue pool from an entity you can't even see that you injured.

Matilda The Musical: Agatha Trunchbull. "The Smell Of Rebellion." Hatred of those weaker than you to an almost comical degree. Cleverness and loopholes in rules. Hurting people back, because why should you be the bigger person? "A contract is a contract is a contract!"

Carrie The Musical: Voice breaking during emotional numbers. "Eve Was Weak." Religious trauma manifesting physically. Covered in blood and surrounded by fire. "Mother was right."

The Shining: All work and no play makes Alastor a dull boy. Being held hostage by the narrative, regardless of if you're doomed by it. Blood cascading through the halls. "I'm not gonna hurt you… I'm just gonna bash your fucking brains in!" The empty ballroom, the bartender who isn't there.

The Green Mile: Killing a miracle. Percy Wetmore. Burning people alive just to see what might happen. Weeping as you sing "Cheek To Cheek" and face the reaper. Clutching the bodies of two little girls and crying to the heavens because it isn't fucking fair.

The Black Phone: The masks. "It's his favorite game: good boy, bad boy." The phone that doesn't work, and the calls that keep coming in. Little boys floating in the air, throats slit, begging for help. Jesus as a deity to worship for divination. The entire kitchen scene. (CW for child abuse)

Coraline: Forced smiles. Eating bugs like candy. "He pulled a looooong face, and Mother didn't like that." The Other Mother. "She'd love something to eat. / Mothers don't eat… daughters. / I dunno. how do you taste?" Watching victims through the dolls.

Welcome To Night Vale: The specific sense of melancholy and nostalgia that just listening to the podcast inflicts upon the listener. The radio host as the protector of the city.

The Princess and the Frog: Facilier. Friends on the other side. Voodoo in all its forms. "Fun thing about voodoo, Larry. Can't conjure a thing for myself."

I love your battle field doctor soo much! And I would like to share a prompt with you, really hope you would like it! After a heated argument between Tony and Stephen, the Avengers help Tony reconcile with Stephen and convince the sorcerer that he isn't worthless. When they meet again, Stephen's hurt and held in a hospital room by Chritine. In the eyes of Stephen's former co-workers sure Stephen was an utter asshole, but he was their asshole, and they do not appreciate someone hurt his feelings.

“I told you I have everything under control.”

“Under control? That thing destroyed the whole building.” Tony pointed to the ruins of the former city library. “It almost killed Peter!”

“I admit it was more resilient than I first thought," Stephen conceded. The threat had taken them by surprise, an eldritch horror being that had slipped through a temporary rift between dimensions. In the end, he had not been able to defeat it, just managed to send it home.

His words didn’t make Tony less angry. The man took everything personal when Peter was involved, and the unconscious boy had to be brought to Doctor Cho by The Falcon. Friday hadn’t told any update yet on the boy’s status and the uncertainty killed him. And since there were no more monsters he could take his anger out, he targeted the next best thing: Strange.

“How did it even get here? I thought you had some kind of protection to prevent exactly this shit! Or why didn’t you use your glowing jewelry to see it coming and stop it before it started attacking the library?”

Stephen got defensive. “You know it doesn’t work this way.”

“No, I don’t! All I know is that it’s your job to keep these kinds of cthulhu monsters out of the city. And if you can’t do the one job you’re here for, tell me, what are you good for?!”

“Tony”, Rhodey interjected warningly to stop him, but Tony didn’t listen.

“You’re always so high and mighty about how your stupid magic is superior to everything. But whatever happened to Peter today, that's on you!”

“Tony!” Rhodey’s voice was sharp. He had placed a hand on his friend's shoulder and Tony jerkily turned his head toward him.

“What?” Tony saw the very judging face of his best friend.

“That’s enough.”

Tony opened his mouth to disagree, because if it was about Peter, it was never enough. But when he turned his head back to Strange, he fell silent. Stephen’s jaw was clenched, but his eyes betrayed the true feeling behind the stern face. The sorcerer turned around and left through a portal.

The other Avengers on the scene looked at Tony, awkwardly.

"That was uncalled for," Rhodey chided him.

Friday chimed up in his ear. “Doctor Cho said that Peter will be fine. He has a concussion and a few broken ribs.”

Tony closed his eyes for a moment, sighing. He was relieved about the news, but still he didn't feel any better.

“Hi dear.” There was a PR smile plastered on Tony’s face, even if he didn’t feel like it.

The receptionist at Metro's looked up and froze for a moment, surprised to see who was speaking to her.

“Tony Stark!”

Good. That usually helped. “Yepp, that’s me. I’m here for Stephen Strange, former doctor and surgeon of this hospital.”

Something shifted in her face and with a more neutral voice she asked, “Are you related or part of his family?”

“No.” Tony shook his head. “But the thing is-”

“Then I’m afraid you can’t visit him.” Her mouth became a thin line. Maybe she wasn’t a fan of him after all. Some people were still hung up on what SI used to sell in its early years.

But this wasn’t the first time Tony had to work with a tough crown and he didn't give up that easily. “And isn’t that quite the inconvenience? You see, I came all the way here to talk to him. If you could just give me any information on where I find him, I’ll be out of your hair.” Tony was all smiles and charm. “If not, I might occupy you for the next, let's say, two hours, and I’ve been told I can be quite annoying.” As if to punctuate his words, he reached across the table and took her post-it pad, playing with it in his hands.

For that he earned a judging look from the receptionist. But at that moment the phone rang and she took the call instead of scolding him.

Tony waited until she forwarded the call, willing to make good of his threat. After she hung up and noticed that he was still standing at her table, she narrowed her eyes. “Fine, Mr. Stark, I can give you one piece of information.”

Tony beamed. “Excellent. I knew we would come to an agreement.”

“Doctor Stephen Strange may no longer practice medicine here, but he is still a doctor. Not a former.” Tony was baffled by the venom in her voice, as if he had personally insulted her. "Now, please leave."

She turned to another visitor who needed help and Tony actually took a step back.

That wasn’t how he thought this would go. But he didn’t want to leave yet, not without talking to the sorcerer, and so, while the receptionist was distracted, he slipped past her. He knew Strange was somewhere in this building. Wong had told him after Tony had asked him about Strange – after there had been radio silence between the two men for two weeks. Apparently Strange had just returned from wherever a Sorcerer Supreme usually went in his adventures and his sorcerer friend had sent him straight to the hospital, because he had looked worse for wear.

Tony started his search in the ER on the ground floor and looked around inconspicuously. As inconspicuous as it was possible for a celebrity like him.

He was used to the mixed reactions he received, but it hadn’t been this bad as since before Afghanistan when SI was still selling weapons. Some nurses stared at him, outright hostile. Others ignored him completely.

Tony glanced into rooms and tried to listen in, to hear if the name of the sorcerer was dropped.

“Mr. Stark. Why are you sneaking around my ER?” He turned around and, oh, he actually recognized this one. But he wasn’t sure if it was a good or a bad thing that Christine Palmer of all people approached him. “Do you need medical help?” Her gaze slid over him in a professional manner to see if she would spot any obvious wounds or injuries.

“I’m visiting a friend.”

“Really?” Her voice would have brought any other man to his knees immediately. With a rueful face, a bouquet of flowers and an apology on his lips. “I’m pretty sure you don’t question friends what they’re good for.”

Ouch.

“He told you that?”

“Stephen didn’t need to tell me anything,” Christine explained. “You two had your disagreement right beside the paramedics and they love to gossip.” She reminded him of Pepper right about when she was about to lecture him, and sure enough Christine continued, taking a step closer to him. “Stephen may no longer work here, but we still consider him one of us. And we take insults to one of us not lightly. So when I ask you why you want to see him, your answer is better going to be ‘I’m sorry and I want to apologize’.”

There was a very unique kind of loyalty between the members of a medical staff. Something even an Avengers could not interfere with. They were a tight group of people. Strange might be an asshole but he was their asshole. The now sorcerer had been once one of them and would always remain one of them. At least in their eyes.

Tony knew when he was defeated. “I’m sorry and I want to apologize.”

Christine smiled sweetly and totally fake. “I’ll ask him if he is in the mood to see you.”

Tony swore to never let her meet Pepper. Each of both women alone was scary enough, together they would be unstoppable.

The nurse left him and disappeared through a door nearby, which she closed behind her.

Tony followed anyway.

It was a typical ER patient room. Stephen sat shirtless on the bed and bandaged his own arm – that told something about doctors being the worst patients. His body looked like a zombie horde trampling all over it. His whole torso was littered with bruises and cuts, and the gauze in his face suggested that it didn't look any better there.

The nurse whirled around when she heard Tony enter, her scorn fully back on. "You're not supposed to be-"

"Christine." Stephen's voice was raspy. He could move his lip only so much, or it was in danger of bursting open again. "It's fine."

Christine, judging by her face, disagreed. “Sometimes I miss the asshole you used to be”, she told him.

“Do you really?” Stephen asked, amused.

She smirked. “No.”

She left the room, not without a last dirty glance to Tony, who raised his hands in defense. He received the message.

“I don’t think she likes me," Tony said after she had closed the door.

“Shocking.”

“I know.”

The men looked at each other. Stephen’s shoulders were tense, as if he expected Tony to continue his rant from their last meeting.

Just as an uncomfortable silence threatened to spread, Tony spoke up first. “Listen, because of the other day-”

“You weren’t wrong.” Tony wondered, what was it about medics interrupting him today? Stephen didn't even look at him, his gaze fixed on his work on his arm. "I know I haven't been doing this hero gig as long as you. Or not nearly as long as the ancient one. But I’m doing my best and-”

“No. Stephen, no,” Tony disagreed. “I shouldn’t have said that. I was scared about Peter and put my anger out on you. He is fine, by the way.”

“I know. He visited the Sanctum a few days ago.” Strange was still not looking at him. He struggled to wrap the bandages because his fingers had started shaking.

Tony stepped up to him and took the bandage in his hands to continue the work. Stephen clenched his jaw but didn't resist the help. Maybe he just wanted to prevent another fight. Still, the sorcerer refused to say another word about what had happened.

Tony felt like he was running into a wall and so he changed the subject. "What chew you up and spit you out like this, anyway?

Stephen glanced up at him, then to the side. He reminded Tony of Peter when the boy knew he had done something, Tony wouldn’t be happy about. He waited until Stephen spoke again.

“I visited that eldritch Kalaravren and made sure it won’t surprise us a second time.”

Tony paused, his mouth open. “Stephen.” The sorcerer had faced this monster all alone, after they had had trouble standing up to it even as a group last time? No wonder he looked so battered.

Their eyes met again.

“I’m sorry.” Tony sighed. “Please stop doing this reckless stuff.”

Stephen snorted. “That’s rich coming from you.”

Tony shrugged, a small smile on his lips. “Was worth a shot.”

SO ABOUT ASTRA AU....

You've triggered my trap HAHAHAHA. this au is my trump card. my secret weapon. my ace in the hole. I've been building it from the ground up for months while keeping it mostly under wraps because I have no intention to post anything until I've at least caught up more with my current AUs. But you're here and you're asking and I am a glutton for self indulgence so TAKE A SEAT, this is gonna be long.

Astra Au (only a working title) is a story taking place in the not-so-distant future. It starts off canon compliant, with Fazco initially launching as a restaurant that features animatronics. This investment soon puts the company in the big leagues of machinery and robotics, and as any good economically savvy company does, they use this newfound reputation to push the boundaries even further. Animatronics become old news. Children's entertainment is out, high tech personal equipment is in. Phones, computers, security systems… weapons. Think tony stark if his business was rooted in furry propaganda.

By the pass of the second decade, Fazco is a leading name in the industry and working closely with both police and military. They've got a hand in everybody's pockets and a finger on your information, personal or otherwise. Nefarious acts from their devices (phishing, data mining, identity collecting, etc) are swept under the rug. After all, why would the government put a stop to their largest source of efficient weaponry?

It's around here that the company realizes they're dominating every department of apparatus but one; medical. An easy fix! They begin development of equipment immediately. Monitors, pacemakers, receivers, wheelchairs, etc. Most importantly, prosthetics. I don't have to explain to you why this is bad, right?

But their prosthetics aren't bad. In fact, they're very, very good, and Fazco charges up the nose for them. They're top of the line devices, however, so naturally the company gets away with it — especially when the government makes the jarring decision to make their devices law. You can keep your old devices, but if they break or need repairs you're shit out of luck, cause it's Fazco or Nothing.

As it happens, you're one of the developers hired for this project. Head the of research and production team, in fact. With a background in the medical field and several degrees in the field of technology, you're top of the food chain around here, and as such you're given a front row seat to the ensuing tragedies.

You're company loyal. They've kept your pockets full and your head big for years now, and aside from a few nefarious secrets between coworkers you've been given no reason not to trust them or their word.

That is, until the accident.

A direct result of the company's negligence, this event changes your life forever. Your new injuries mean you'll be using mobility devices for the rest of your life, not to mention intensive therapy for coordination. It takes you out of a job immediately.

Fazco covers your medical bills without hesitance. A number of paid days off, too, despite already knowing your former position is out of the question. It's a nice bribe to keep your mouth shut and your loyalty high. Little do they know that distrust has already begun to take root.

A close friend of yours calls you up soon after, requesting your help with a secret project — one that will force the company to answer for their crimes. Not a hanging by any means, but enough to throw some dirt on their reputation. A place to start. Though hesitant, you eventually agree to help.

A poor decision, really. Fazco catches wind of the operation and stomps it out before the match has a chance of becoming flame. It's a horribly traumatic ordeal to begin with, made all the worse when your friend winds up missing, never to be seen again, and it suddenly becomes apparent that their blood is on your hands.

After all, it was the tracking device in your own head that lead the company right to them. A real shame they implanted something like that amid your surgery!

This moment is the last straw. You cut all ties with the company, have the chip removed underground with the money you've saved, and disappear from society entirely.

A year passes. Your whereabouts are compromised by someone claiming to be a member of AISNO CORPS(E) — the same group of which your ill fated friend spearheaded, a group dedicated to eradicating Fazco's iron grip — and they need your help.

Though it takes some convincing, you do eventually agree. You've been stewing in guilt and vendetta for some time now. You promise to help on the condition that your part is kept in the shadows, and a deal is struck. Too bad that only lasts for so long.

A few months in and you're practically leading the entire organization. Despite never claiming the title, your every decision is trusted and relied on.

You've made a name for yourself under the table in the art of mechanics; that is, the repair and creation of devices — prosthetics, mainly — that Fazco has no part in. No chips, no gimmicks, just aids as they need to be and for a price everyone can afford, considering most of them are coming out of your own pocket. You're a big name underground. Unfortunately, that means the company is always hot on your tail, and you're quickly running low on both resources and time. If something doesn't change soon it could spell the end of your organization.

That's only the prelude.

The real story begins when you send out the first order to look for equipment — parts, pieces, even scraps — anything. You're desperate and willing to work with what you've got in order to keep churning out your own devices.

An AISNO member returns in the evening with a whole crate of loot claiming to be from Fazco's own decommissioned entertainment beings. You know, the ones that are two decades old, broken, burnt down, and long since abandoned?

You're incredibly hesitant to accept the crate despite your desperation, as any pieces from Fazco have a high chance of being rigged and tracked, but you're assured that this shit is OLD and most of it long since broken, anyway. You can search it for anything with a semblance of battery and safely trash the rest. With this in mind, there's few reasons to refuse.

Inside that crate is the DCA.

BUT we're in First Chapter territory now, so my lips are zipped past this point. You'll just have to trust me on this and wait it out 😊
