What's happening on instagram?

So basically Meta has announced that on June 26th, they’re going to start allowing ai software to begin sweeping over their apps to begin training those programs. In European countries, instagram users were given a choice to opt out and not allow meta to use their accounts to train AI, but so far American users do not have an option to say they own the copyright of whatever content they post to instagram.

Because of this, a lot of artists specifically are very worried that their art is going to be stolen and used to train AI without their consent. Many people are trying to fight this by posting on their pages saying they own the copyright and do not consent, but there’s no guarantee that meta will honor that declaration.

On Monday there’s going to be a boycott, asking meta to discontinue this program. Many Instagram users are moving over to the anti AI app Cara in an attempt to avoid being stolen from by AI.

As seen in yesterday's video, the only way many in Gaza are able to access water for washing, cooking, bathing, and drinking is to walk long distances. In his latest video, shared July 15, Medo explains that he has injured his back carrying water for his family. His younger brother Hamad had stepped in to take care of Medo's plants.

lastly: the website and mobile version are VERY different! they have completely different interfaces. your experience truly will be different depending on which you choose to use.

My friend Haneen uploaded this video of her mother walking back from trying to rescue their sister Shireen, who you can see circled on the ground. Shireen lay bleeding for four hours, and the IOF shot at their mother and anyone else who tried to come to her aid. In the video you can hear gunshots and the family screaming, and you see who I believe is Haneen’s sister in law holding her one year old daughter Lujain. Shireen is now in the hospital and needs your donation, your support, and your prayers.

As mentioned in a previous post, Ezzedine "Azouz" Isawi, younger brother of Shoroq Isawi, was martyred. He was 17 years old. Shoroq has been sharing tributes and memories of her brother on Instagram. In this post from July 19, artist Mohammed Alassar shares this picture he drew of Azouz.

In his caption, Mohammed shares memories of his brief encounters with Azouz, describing him as friendly, generous, and possessing an air of matitury for his young age. From what I gather, based on Shoroq's posts, he was the only son and youngest member of the family.
