LIKE THIS IS APPARENTLY HOW IT SHAKES OUT:

Jack + Tommy = podcast, friendly arguing, ???, more friendly arguing

Seàn + Tommy = movie nights, lots of dumbass jokes, bestie vibes, honestly also lots of oversharing to be honest. Friendly arguing but LOUD and giggling this time.

Jack + Tommy + Seàn = a pretty decent and interesting conversation, even if it's clear that they're both WAY more comfortable with Tommy than each other. Some actually pretty insightful stuff, deep conversations about life and shit.

Jack + Seán = nodding vaguely in each other's direction on the street and avoiding each other otherwise because they don't know the other person that well actually??? Having the most stilted conversation ever like "oh! Uh, hey, what are you doing Here?" "Yeah I'm just on a walk." "Cool. I'm doing grocery shopping." "Nice. That's.... important. ...Anyway I gotta go," "Yeah, alright, see you". Internally cringing and then just moving on. Awful. Car crashing and sirens blaring. Social anxiety simulator

Jack Manifold talking about running into Jacksepticeye on a trip to the grocery store and then just having an awkward small talk interaction of like "we vaguely know each other but like only at the same level as a person who's in the same class as you and you don't talk to them" and shuffling away afterwards is honestly so funny to me?? (It was in the new Shut Up I'm Talking)

I think part of it is that Seàn and Tommy are really close friends, and Seán was also ON the Shut Up I'm Talking Podcast WITH JACK MANIFOLD. And it's like. I think that makes it so much funnier because it isn't even that they've never interacted and only know each other because they're both YouTubers- THEY HAVE BEEN ON A PODCAST TOGETHER. And since Tommy and Seán are friends they're also, like, aware of each other through Tom.

So that makes it this scenario where like the whole thing is made more awkward by the fact that like, they probably COULD talk about something other than the weather, but just aren't at that level of comfort yet without a third party to mediate it???? and they don't have the social scripts they need to navigate the interaction gracefully so they're just doing the social equivelent of bumping into each other like roombas

Never let anyone change who you are. You have a right to be yourself. And you are good the way you are. If people want to change you, so you match better with them, it just means those are not the right people for you. The right people will accept, love and respect you for who you are.
