idea came into my head after seeing @honey-droppop's great Rook concept and wanted to throw my card in the hat

Tried to meld the Red Robin head symbol with this partially Batman/partially Nightwing-esque insignia slight based on a rook's wingspan. This was also the reason for the cape's shape as well.

Rooks also have a sort of ivory/bone colouring on their beaks, hence the light domino mask and the blue-ish accents were from the slight irredescence of corvid feathers.

Steel-cap boots are always a must with Tim Drake outfits I feel and I kept a mostly dark-coloured outfit because I feel it fits with Tim's whole "is the most like Batman of the Robins but really doesn't want to be" plus as a bisexual caffeine addict whose namesake comes from Tim Burton, he would have a sort of goth-adjacent aesthetic, especially if was using a corvid as his codename :P

Random Ryoji headcanons

This is pure and utter indulgence once again. Have I written down these thoughts before? Probably, but I’ve had these little thoughts rolling around in my head for a while. I hope you guys enjoy these goofy little thoughts, bc I can’t put together a scenario I like, but I’ve got these.

Ryoji loves sugary sweet treats and drinks. After all, there’s nothing to stop him from over-indulging.

He has a bit of a twitch after the attempted fall.

He also has a little bit of chronic pain after that. That might happen when your body is stretched and contorted into the Nyx avatar.

He can shape shift to some extent. A skill namely used when he changed from Pharos to Ryoji, so yes, technically his appearance isn’t really his natural look, but he’s emotionally attached to that identity now.

Ryoji’s wings shimmer with irredescent colors when they move

His feathers also have an absolutely TOXIC vibe that even makes Minato unconsciously shake slightly.

This reaches from gender changing to something as simple as his weight.

He’s an absolutely bomb singer when he legitimately tries. He does not do that often.

His shadow form’s fangs are somewhat small. Just barely long enough to somewhat be visible behind his lips.

He is a pretty physically affectionate man. Cuddles, hugs, holding hands, he’s very lovey in those ways

He will straight up eat nothing but fucking sugar sometimes.

Ryoji also loves pillows and plush toys

He uses them to make a nest to lay in, even if he doesn’t require sleep.

If you don’t know what to get Ryoji, just get him a pillow. So long as it’s not a horrible texture, he’ll adore it.

Ryoji’s also pretty partial to soft blankets.

Despite being a bit softer in the body shape, with a belly that muffin tops over his pants’ waistband, Ryoji can straight up juggle all of the SEES if he wanted to.

Whether or not he can teleport is up for debate. Junpei is convinced he can, Minato’s pretty sure that he simply sneaks around really fucking well, and Ryoji won’t confirm nor deny any thought.

Minato has asked him what a soul tastes like, and Ryoji has described it as tasting different depending on the person, but most tend to taste like the general concept of ‘good’. No real flavor, just ‘this tastes good’.

He can hear people’s heartbeats and see their souls from a pretty impressive distance.

In reality, he does sort of just sneak around. He doesn’t teleport, he just takes advantage of his years of experience hunting humans and the human brain’s refusal to acknowledge death to scare the shit out of people.

He loves to hear Minato’s heartbeat when they cuddle while Minato sleeps.

He is in therapy, and he may or may not have sent at least one therapist to therapy.

Ryoji’s tastebuds are so wonky from technically being built to eat souls, that when he cooks he either forgets to season the food, or seasons it until he can taste it. AKA over seasons it until you can feel the salt in your teeth.

He ironically likes cooking videos. No, I do not know why I think this, but it vibes correctly for him.

Those videos do not do shit to keep him from slapping sprinkles into cheeto-flavored mac and cheese.

My Keychains from the lovely @avaetin arrived in the mail today! I didn't realize they would have this scaly irredescent finish on them. It turns rainbow colors when it catches the light right and it's a little visible on Nico in this photo. (love that for him 🖤🏳️‍🌈)

What are some headcanons for Rena?

GENERAL RENA INFO

Rena is a high class drone in the hive, third overall after Lyith and Haven. About a third of the hive is female, and even rarer are female drones, so Rena was seen as somewhat of a blessing when she was able to be classified.

Renas speciality is Manipulation Magic. While most Beeman can use telepathy to an extent on other creatures, Bee-men with her speciality are so attuned to the emotions and feelings of living things, that they can even pick up on the mental state of plants. I read somewhere that plants can actually sense a lot of what is going on around them, and let off scents or chemicals through their roots to communicate when in danger. Rena is attuned to such minute emotions. The reason she is in charge of so many of the gardens is because she is able to keep the plants happy enough to bloom often and past season.

Rena also has many freinds amongst the guards, often sparing with them. She is mediocre when it comes to combat, but her tenacity often surprises her opponents. She also has a few freinds amongst the beastmen, despite her contrarian and blunt nature.

While sparring is her main hobby, she is also a scholar amongst the Bee-men. The hive has something of a mental library of memories. This mental space is only able to be accessed while inside the hive, using the hive magic. Magic in itself is so vital to the nature of bee-men that it is her main topic of study. Many of the Bee-men can add memory to the mental library if they feel they have experienced something historical or noteworthy. As such, combing through memory can be an arduous task in the library, and Lyith often helps her in her research, depending on whatever topic has piqued her interest.

I purposefully wrote my bee-men to be a little vague in descript to fit the preferences of the reader but in my mind Rena is a perfect 2 thirds human to 1 Bee. She is flat chested like most Beeman, but her fuzz is mostly golden with only the occasional stripe of black. She has two sets of hands with alternating colors, though her fingertips are mostly black as well..

Her shoulder length hair is black and coily. Her wings are long and irredescent, like a fairies wings. Her legs, like most Beeman are slightly bent at the joint, giving an insect/satyr sort of silhouette. She also has a smaller insect abdomen jutting out behind her than most. Fluff covers most of the body, and she holds the common opinion that human clothes are tedious. As such, she doesn't go out to the human town often, as clothing is often worn to blend in there.

QUEEN RELATED INFO

After you became her Queen, Rena's priorities shifted a bit. She doesn't always mean it, but she has a habit of taking the harsh edges off your emotions. "So you can think better," she reasons to herself. But a small part of her delights in being able to take care of you in such an intimate way.

When she is not verbally, or physically teasing you, she is quite the cuddly bee, and gets jealous when others interrupt her time with you. Jealousy is not necessarily a natural emotion for Bee-men, but Rena can't help herself. You are just so interesting! And if she can flustered you even a little, her day has been made.

I've hinted to it a few times in my chapters, but Rena DOES have some aphrodisiac laced in her fluids, that she can ramp up or down at will through her magic. This is not a rare trait among drones, but it DOES change the taste of her fluids to something a bit more savory then her normal sweet.

What a curious thing. The rover watches her silently, sitting beside her without a need to fill the quiet. It is peaceful to watch and hear the waves as they wash across their feet. The skies are beautiful, lights strumming across the firmament like fingers gliding across piano keys. Like hers, playing that song.

Turning his gaze, he finds that the Shorekeeper, too, is a sight to behold, even more so now amidst the irredescent lights reflected in the water, illuminating the soft angles of her face and body. Her clothes fluttering around her gently in the breeze make her look all the more ethereal; godly in ways that clench at his heart, inviting his eyes to linger.

He raises his hand and carefully brushes a wayward strand of hair behind her ear. He thinks he could lose himself in her eyes if he isn't careful, though it wouldn't be a fate he dreads. Quite the contrary, in fact. ❝ You know, I'm glad you're here. Irregardless of your duties, I am happy to spend time with you. ❞ To him, being here, with her, is all the reason he needs.

These jellyfish earrings give off the perfect summer vibes! They are jointed so the tentacles move and sway as you do. I find them very relaxing to work on and get to use my fancy paints on them. Each jelly is brushed with an interference paint to add a little extra sparkle and a glossy glaze.

If you could make any object edible, what object would you pick and what would it taste/feel like?

I'd eat towels. Make them a mix between cotton candy and marshmallow in texture but the flavor would be mildly sweet with a fruity-nutty flavor. I think strawberry pistachio would be yummy.

Damn, that does sound tasty ...

I would make CDs and DVDs edible. With a texture and taste like a crunchy cookie (or biscuit, if you prefer), except with notes of a lot of different tropical fruits mixed in (because of the irredescent shine they have).

Today's beast; a dragon based on the Beanie Baby, Magic! My friend had one when I was a kid, and I absolutely coveted her. I thought she was beautiful.

She was made as a partner piece with Scortch, so where he had some quartz to match with her colours, I gave her a beach stone to match with his.

They both share a little heart hoard as well, but it's the stones that really tie them together.

I used a clay that includes irredescent foil to imitate that beautiful crinkly fabric they used on her wings, and gave hers a little bit of a feathery texture. Her wings always read a bit angelic to me.
