honestly it's kinda...mushy...how much time has actually passed in-universe, since all the dreams seem to run differently and we've been popping in and out all over the place. so I think chances are it hasn't been that long for him, and he's still getting the run-around from Lilia!

(just let Malleus destroy everything in order to trap you in an eternal dreamworld like a normal person, gosh)

Honestly, Danny is having such a good time right now. He gets to travel with Ellie, explore space, just have fun. Plus his secondary protector-instincts are having soothed despite him not technically doing any hero-ing anymore. Really his sister had the right idea when she decided she wanted to become a doctor, this is honestly a blast.

And if someone does end up passing away, well, Ellie is always happy to help soothe their spirit and guide them to the Realms where they can reach their respective afterlife. Or become a ghost. 

They are completely oblivious to the fact that there are now legends and entire temples dedicated to them now. Apparently accidental ascension is in fact a thing, as Dan later laughs at them about.

A friend of mine was being interviewed about her role many years previously in a documentary exposing a famous linguist as a bigoted fraud who made stuff up to support his views. The younger version of my friend appeared to be played by Yu Nai Jia in the parts of the documentary that were shown.

Romanticizing the Sunrise

We've all seen those come of age movies, the ones surrounding teenagers and schools where groups are formed based on popularity or personal interest. They tend to begin with the main character or the main friend group just waking up and getting ready for the day. These films often play an upbeat song about how good you look, how everyone loves you, or about how the system is broken and you shouldn't care what the popular kids think.

Humans are idealists and dreamers inherently. A lot of us consumed these types of films as kids and now as teenagers or young adults we find the routines of these movies ideal. Below are some easy ways to help become like those coming of age movies.

Revamp your Alarm

Add emojis or special characters to the alarm's name

Add a song you like as the ring tone (preferably an upbeat one)

Set the alarm 5 minutes before you have to get up to give you time to mentally prepare for the day

Drink cool Water, Coffee, or a Smoothie

I personally prefer drinking ice water in the morning then followed up by coffee when it nears 10. Our bodies need water more than anything else especially after sleeping for hours on end. Water is actually really good for you both mentally and physically.

Make two Morning Playlists

Make a playlist for slow lazy mornings

Make a playlist for when you wake with energy or motivation

Eat breakfast

I know not everyone has an appetite in the morning, most days I don't. But even packing slices of fruit, nuts, or a slice of bread for later could be good! xoxo

sorry but i keep remembering that in the pidw nobody knew about sj's past. and disregarding all of the other tragic shit that comes to mind i cant help but think.

sj died with his fear and hatred of men being so deeply ingrained into his being it was probably all he could think of. he died with his body being used without his consent, tortured in part anyways for his actions that lead to his freedom (the fire). how every single one of the ways he was hurt only reminded him of his true status- as one seen as less than dirt- and how one of his few reliefs in the world- the Red Pavilion where he could finally rest and his fondness of Ning Yingying- were used to damn him to a fate worse than death.

and its the way he could never show true kindness to his disciples because he didn't truly know what it was. He only knew of foolish innocence that led to pain, the cruelty of a broken promise that led him to his worst nightmares and of the sick sadism of men who put their twisted desires above all else.

its the way he couldn't even deny them, because he was so deeply hurt to the point where his trauma was the only think he truly recognised about himself- it was the foundations of his personality- but he had also hurt others so deeply and badly.

do you think that's why he never defended himself? because deep down he truly thought he deserved all that pain and suffering?

Gigi always caught my eye...she didn't have much to do but I'm a sucker for a cool design for a cool character B) I also attempted to design her as a human!! I think I should've given her extra style fashion-wise but au well!!! It was still fun to do :3

Also additional comic because YYyeah I also found the nightmares being fear-disgust centric to be extremely funny. Guys Scary Movie is canon <333 (jokeing) I think the critics and the director could become like, friends or something? Canonically Fear IS a really good movie critic (and I believe Disgust would be a great one too, considering her everything). I dunno, there's a lot of potential there. Appreciate the horrors and such
