In this Grasshopper exercise for beginners, you'll learn about many components and techniques that will help create many forms besides the one in the video. At the end of this tutorial, I will leave you with 2 small exercises that you can do on your own, basically minor adjustments to this exercise.

Random idea I had while trying to go to sleep that I feel like sharing
Okay so in this world, there’s magic, but it’s specifically stored in food, or more accurately, plants. And eating these plants gives a certain magical effect when eaten
And as a result, the animals of this world have certain magical properties based on their diets. This also can extend to humans and whatever other potential sapient species come to exist also

Working on the Kane holotapes
#just starting with the mega surgery case one#it’s simple it’s short#it gives me breathing room for Kane to talk and be introspective#grasshopper one might be harder. simply because there’s a lot more fighting and travel involved#Faneuil hall*#later on I want Kane to go rogue (as it were) and try and check out pickman#the holotapes start slightly after Kieran rescues Nick#I think post memory den but pre-anything else#Kanes having his own synth detective adventures#idk what his relationship to Nick is though?#it’s this weird stand between old friends and mentor uncle Vs inexperienced nephew#I think Kane’s friends with Ellie (I also want Ellie to have more going on in the holotapes. I feel bad that she’s such a minor character)#he avoids Piper like the plague (he’s bad at hiding he’s a synth. doesn’t help that he’s a very early gen 3. and well. piper isn’t exactly#putting her foot forward as an ally. even if she does guide it towards the institute)#he honestly probably avoids everyone other than Nick and Ellie#he has spent the majority of his lifespan completely alone just to stay alive#anyways <3#need to figure out a title#maybe I can take inspo from a hardboiled’s title?#something from the black mask or dick Tracy#or something straightforward like ‘holotapes from [blank]’#hm#I think Kane’s learning how to be a PI in fallout#just with a natural talent for it. it makes more sense that way.#I can’t wait for far harborrrrr#but the commonwealth has plenty for right now

In this third part of the Grasshopper series on attractors for beginners, we will learn about another component called Curve Closest Point, another alternative way to have attractor points affecting your shape. I recommend you also watch the first two videos in the series to have a better understanding about the attractors' logic, even though this video, by itself alone, presents a good explanation on its own. In the video description, you can find the links for the other two videos, also a link to download the demo file used in the second part that I used as a starting point for this tutorial.

pictured above: Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (left) and his ashamed father Calvin Cordozar Broadus Sr. (right)
We spoke with Broadus Sr. who told us that he was ashamed because his son, who goes by Snoop Dogg, didn't hatch into a bug but instead grew up to be a featherless biped. Broadus expressed that this unfortunate birth defect brought great shame upon his entire family, especially his father.
"When Jr hatched, my father sat me down and said: 'that is no grandson of mine, and no son of yours either.'" Broadus recounts. "I'll never forget the look of disappointment on his face. My father made us hide little Calvin from the neighbors, and we eventually found some humans who were willing to take him in."
"I just don't talk about him because, truly, I don't think of him as my son."
We reached out to Snoop Dogg who declined to comment at this time.

I have no clue how to send this in a coherent way but I hope so badly miss mousey knows a grasshopper mouse, AKA the werewolf mouse. I just think one of her babies learning how to SCREEEEEE howl at the moon would be so fun.

I imagined Mariella (mom) have a grasshopper mouse cousin who's some kind of sustenance hunter wild woman and obviously a great babysitter.

I love this. I love that there are neat lil guys everywhere
Don't know if this was asked before, but do you have any general tips on finding insects?
step 1: find a plant. I’ll use this tree trunk
Tumblr media
step 2: look everywhere on the plant. there will be a bug.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
baby Leptoglossus, a eupelmid wasp, a leafhopper, and that clump of debris is a lacewing larva (it was slowly scooting around)
fences and railings are often a good spot to find bugs, as well as glass windows where bugs got attached to lights the previous night.
don’t disregard tiny bugs or things you might find boring. look at every fly, every ant. some flies are beautiful. some ants aren’t ants. even common insects do interesting things if you observe them long enough.
