Loosely based off of Dove Cameron's song "Boyfriend" and a tiktok by @/shadow.bone_marauders I saw a while back

Regulus didn't know what he was doing here.

He promised Pandora he wouldn't come, he wouldn't make a scene. But of course he did.

He'd been on a "break" with Barty for over a week and it was driving him mad.

Barty didn't even seem to care.

He was over in the corner taking- flirting- with Evan. Regulus' best-fucking-friend.

To be fair, it seemed like Evan didn't even know what was going on, he was too high to realize that Barty was flirting with him.

Still, Regulus couldn't help but glare at the both of them. Neither even realizing that he was even at this stupid party.

Regulus suddenly felt a presence next to him, but didn't bother turning to see who it was, assuming it was either Pandora, or Dorcas there to call him out on his staring or to tell him to leave because it wasn't worth ruining a perfectly good party.

"Don't start." He warned to who he still believed to be one of his friends.

"Hello to you too." Came the smooth familiar voice from beside him.

Regulus whipped his head to the side to see none other than James Fleamont Potter, standing next to him in all his glory, holding a red solo cup, presumably filled with some form of alcohol that his brother, Sirius, brought as payment to be let into the party.

Regulus cleared his throat to rid himself of the shakiness behind it. "What are you even doing here, Potter?"

James wasn't even looking at him, he was looking ahead, but at Regulus's words, James smiled. "I could ask you the same thing. Sirius said you weren't coming tonight, considering..." he trailed off.

"Considering what?" Regulus asked, to which James nodded his head over to where Barty was now running his hands up Evan's arm.

Regulus wanted to march over there and kill them both, but before he got the chance to James spoke up, causing Regulus to mentally stop for a moment.

"You could do way better than him you know."

After half a second, Regulus came back to himself and angrily said, "Excuse me?"

"He treats you like shit, Reg. You don't deserve that. You deserve better."

Regulus was even angrier now. Who was James to talk about his relationship when he doesn't even have one himself! "Oh and you know everything then?"

"No." James shrugged, seemingly unaware of how pissed he was making Regulus.

"Very convincing." Regulus said sarcastically. "What do I deserve then? Hm? Go on, tell me. Since you seem to know more about what's good for me than I do."

James turns to Regulus and says. "Me." And walks away. Leaving Regulus stood there, stunned.
