i was not prepared for Thunderbolts* to affect me on such a deeply personal level. some scenes hit a little too hard, actually kinda hurt me even, and i genuinely appreciate it for that, just … wow

i think that shipping a weird ship from very specific media is good for shaping personality cause i look at some people and i think "yeah they never accidentally told to a large group of people that they're really into what one of the grunkles from gravity falls and the demonic yellow triangle had going on"

do you think that superhero thirst traps exist in the mcu? i first started thinking about this bc of the video footage they have of the commandos in TFA, because they actually had a lot of good footage especially of steve and bucky. like do you think that the younger generation of people leading up to the avengers just made edits of old captain america footage? posting it on tumblr and shit in the 2010s, making youtube found footage compilations, etc. “if he was alive now it’d be so over” “both, same time” and more. and once steve defrosts oh it’s over. oh and to go even further, let’s think about the fact that tony stark was probably americas favorite nepo baby BEFORE iron man, imagine after? edits for days. instagram fan pages.
and then ya know how the winter soldier comes around and everyone kind of finds out it’s bucky? i fear there would be an alarming amount of edits/thirst traps… i mean if we’re making excuses for this man irl then mcu fangirls are too. “i could fix him” “five minute and a hair tie” “till he remembers steve” oh lord they’d go crazy. mixing the 1940s found footage of steve and bucky with 2010s footage. every once in a while an avenger goes on an internet deep dive and finds some fanpage of either themselves or the other avengers and it turns into a meme for like a week in the avengers tower/compound (printed out pictures on the fridge, all the screens playing edits on repeat, etc). when tiktok starts up all the fangirls start edit pages and fanbases and archive edits of their favorite heroes. plus make more. if we consider ourselves feral, think about the fact that they could casually pass sam wilson on the street or see tony stark in a restaurant and hit record. thirst traps and edit material for DAYS.

The "I trained like [insert superhero here]" videos must be wild in a universe where superheroes are real.
for those that don't watch these, there are generally three genres of these videos (with crossover depending on YouTuber):
1) the current training that person does now (a.k.a. ScarJo's workout for Black Widow) 2) the way that person would have originally trained (a.k.a. training with a Marine drill sergeant for the Punisher) 3) the kind of training that could realistically result aesthetically in the current results (generally a mix of the first two)
in-universe (for the MCU, I don't carry about DC), this probably looks like
1) I trained like Iron Man (hires Tony Stark's personal trainer to go through his exact routine) 2) I trained like Captain America (trains in WWII-era gutter fighting, goes through Army boot camp & Ranger School, consults with WWII historians) 3.1) I trained like Hawkeye (trains in archery and parkour, consults with trick archers, probably gets the archery guy on the video) 3.2) I trained like Black Widow (trains in systema, gymnastics, various martial arts)
bonus: I trained like Thor (consults with a Viking reenactor)

I watched Thunderbolts…
There is so much I could say, but mostly I just want to say thank you… I’ve missed my Marvel days… this universe has been there on many very bad days when I needed it & this fandom has meant so much to me throughout my lifetime; but this movie was the first one in a while that felt like that which I loved & missed so much. Like not only the artistry, creativity, & magic of artists in their element; ideas inspiring ideas (Florence doing her own stunts🤩) & switching from CGI to realises just cause. And the amount of thought into the details (giving plenty to nerd out over and squeal about in fangirl as we inevitably rewatch), even the costuming grew on me (it made sense for the characters). But also being a new story with a life of its own (not a remake or “cookie cutter best seller”) nor cut off from that of before, more like something that was meant to happen and be the next step.
And help me take those next steps in my own life, grief, ptsd, and therapy journey (as fictional stories are a great way to live it out).
The mental health & grief representation was so excruciatingly well-done… at times so painful to watch I almost thought they went too far, but at the end of the day I think it was the grit they needed. It is messy & imperfect, and painful & raw, but real… very real. (While still having the wit, humor, levity, depth, & range of emotions Marvel is known to write so well) and bringing it in the midst of well-choreographed fight scenes, character arcs, flawed heroes & heroic villains.
And of course, the stand out (to surprise no one as Yelena has always been a favorite for me and positive representation) but this brought it to another level… the way they did grief representation, ptsd, guilt & shame & regret, depression & mental illness… all the way to found family. Friends becoming a part of something more. It had all the big, hard feelings. And she was the hero I needed today & going forward.
Not to mention some great Bucky Barnes moments (that answered more of the questions I've been asking about him in politics😂). A new fan favorite in Bob! Some possible ships, and definite FRIENDships. More time with Ava. Some fantastic quote (not to mention FOUR ;-) looking forward to as we go forward! And what I'm sure is going to be some great easter eggs to read up on!
… Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go do just that!🫶
… And you can consider this ALSO a Thunderbolts (YELENA BELOVA) fan page now — okay it was always that (I’ll always love the MCU) BUT STILL!
👏👏👏

Sebastian won a Golden Globe. Wow...My little actor that I've been "keeping" in the jewelry box of my heart is now there, among the giants. As a Romanian, that "Romania, te iubesc!" at the end was just...wow. Now I am crying! Congratulations, thank you for bringing us so many beautiful characters, inspiration and smiles. I'll forever love you!

why does everybody hate mcu clint so much??? i’ve read his comics but i still love jeremy renner’s portrayal of him and stuff :(
like i can understand being disappointed in some ways about how the character was changed for the movies, but i can’t understood all the hate for him
for me, personally, it's not that mcu clint is a bad character per se, it's really just the fact that he doesn't feel like clint barton. give him any other name and he's a fine character, but compare him to comic clint and they're in NO WAY the same person.
on one hand you have that responsible, serious husband and well adjusted father of three, who cracks a joke here and there but takes everything pretty serious most of the time, who has his life under control, while everyone else on the team is a mess. he doesn't have that much of a personality, no weird habits or (dis)likes, he really fades in comparison to other team members like tony, who's lines are always on point and who gets a back story and everything.
on the other hand there's this 6'3" disaster of a human being, who lives for coffee, dogs, tv shows and nothing else, is obsessed with purple for no reason at all, grew up in a circus after he escaped his abusive dad, can't take anything seriously and cracks the funniest joke all the fucking time, even makes fun of captain america on a regular basis (at least in the early avengers comics), runs away from himself and responsibility, fucks up nearly all of his relationships because he really sucks at emotions, but then forms those really precious bonds with people like kate, and who's just kind of an asshole really, but simultaneously a fucking ray of sunshine. plus he's deaf and we always love some representation. oh, and mcu clint is like the straightest guy ever, and then there's comic clint who is just so easy to headcanon as this bisexual disaster, and we all know how much fandom loves a queer coded character.
so, the mcu basically took away every fun part of the awesome character that is clint barton and it SUCKS. i really don't hate movie clint as his own character, i just hate hate HATE the fact that he's supposed to be THE clint barton because he IS NOT, and he'll never be. i'm sorry, but jeremy renner just can't pull it off, i'll never understand how they saw bigger-than-steve, blond-mess, purple-loving, coffee-addict comic clint and where like: "oh yeah, let's cast 5' 9" jeremy renner and give his character a huge, healthy family, and no mental health problems, that's just perfect😍"
it's just so sad to be aware of the awesomeness of comic clint and then watch the movies because you're constantly thinking "oh what could've been..." if they did comic accurate movie clint, he'd definitely be a fan-favourite and we'd have tons of edits, and ships, and merchandise, but NO, most mcu fans just forget about him or don't find him special or entertaining (bc his mcu version really really isn't) and he gets left out of all the casual merchandise you can find in random shops (i literally have an album on my phone that's dedicated to photos i took of cheap avengers merchandise with the "o6" avengers sans clint lmao)
you're obviously allowed to love movie clint and jeremy's portrayal, that's great!!! i was an mcu fan way before i even knew just how different comic clint was, and i loved mcu clint so much back then! but after reading the comics and thousands of fanfiction, i'm just really really angry that there isn't a good live action on screen representation of my all time favourite fictional character, and i think many people feel the same :(
okay, i think i'm done lmao.
anyways, shout out to avengers assemble clint, my one true love <3 the mcu should take notes.

i don't know if that's a thing in other countries but I wanna RANT (in few words)
My family has a Coke-Marvel heros can collection, with two different generations of characters like, the first one was launched with EndGame and the rest was a bit after with Shuri as BP and Variant Loki etc (we have just a few of these) and I just noticed something Annoying
The Endgame collection is: Thanos, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Widow, Hawkeye- so far so good, the villain and the original six - then there's Captain Marvel, Ant Man, Nebula, Rocket and War Machine. Ok......the guys that were fighting to bring the dust gang back. Makes sense.
THEN there's the second one with a bunch of different characters, some from shows, some from movies, some that were not on the cinematic universe (yet at least) only in the comics. And no Bucky? Not a single Bucky can? There's a Falcon Captain America, my boy was key on this show WHERE IS HIS CAN? There's a Super-Skrull but no Bucky?? There's two different Rocket cans and no Bucky???? There's a Teenage-megassonic-goth-girl-I-forget-her-name-always and no Bucky????????? He is on several movies, a Disney plus show and What if episodes BUT NOT IN A COCA COLA ??????????????
GIVE MY MAN A COKE LABEL WHY IS MARVEL AFRAID OF GIVING BUCKY THE TIME OF THE DAY HE'S THE CENTER OF AT LEAST TWO MOVIE PLOTS GIVE HIM MORE SCREEN TIME MORE LINES or you know A FREAKING APPEARANCE ON THE COKE CAN THING
