no but really, I think it fits him really well! I had thought his UM would probably involve something kinda sleight-of-handy or pickpockety! and I looooved that it made such a nice loop-around back to episode 1. ❤️ I was. kind of half-expecting him to just run out and punch Riddle in the nose again. but instead this time 'twas he who offed the queen's head! it was great! and he did it while stone-cold terrified out of his mind! because Ace is the only remotely normal or well-adjusted person at NRC and therefore the only one who is like "we're going to literally die, this is super effed up". but he did it anyway!!!! I AM SO PROUD

Curtwen Week Day 4: Haunted

#slay the princess #stp #stp long quiet #stp opportunist #stp cold #stp smitten #my art #fanart #Was a long to coming but I finally have Slay the Princess!!!#I have about 19 hours in as time of writing hehe #Shown here is my interpretation of how the various voice work #They're mask similar to ones used for plays & theater #With the Long Quiet not being about to quite transform it's body forms temporary fleshy masks for each voice #But of course they're just that; masks; there's no true change to Long Quiet #And once the Long Quiet takes proper look at himself in the mirror the voices cease #They can no longer speak #Design wise these are very much in the workshopping phase and I might go back and fix thing up here and there #BUT #For now I really do like what I have for the Opportunist #Though that may be because I already really look in-game design hehe #Sigh there's no much design potential for this game I hope I'll survive my swim in boundless ideas

Nnnot entirely sure if this is the final design I'll stick with but heres something

#The idea for Lyle was like. Leg rib cage. Leg guts. idk. he's less fixed and just more rearranged #Lyle so difficult for me idk why Im never satisfied by my designs for him so its kinda hard to adapt that #I think its funny to imagine that the Visitor has a really skewed view of certain body parts bcs its main pov of human biology is Sam #Who is missing a limb has differently colored eyes and has a mouth shape nobody else has #ALSO minor Sam redesign! not rlly too noticable but I was getting bored with the way I was drawing it #I might see if I can find a way to fuse legs more without it looking stupid so its more reasonable for the Visitor to think its fine.#Lyle keeps the abdomen a little cause he looks dumb and off balance without it but I might see if I can get rid of that too idk #Ooooh wait I could go with the Mental Map justification again. I really like that actually..#Spending nearly 2 weeks as big spider.. you have to start recognizing that as your own body at some point #but he still of course remembers himself as human. #ask #non mdzs #My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. Mini idea I may draw or write sometime.

Wade has his “days” where he just sorta is hunkered under the blankets. Doesn’t come out or anything. It’s a combination of his cancer, that his brain won’t shut-up, and just everything feels like static.

Vanessa explains to Logan that he’s not necessarily irritable like this, just he doesn’t really want do much. She also shows that there’s the “yoink area”-demonstrating it by setting some snacks in said area for Wade to just snatch and bring under the blankets.

Logan gets use to this and feels like it’s the least he can do since Wade is always ready to help when he has to deal with his nightmares.

Insert one time, Logan sitting on said bed during one of those moods. Vanessa and Laura over talking and to check on Wade. Only for Logan to lean back juuuust enough into yoinking range-

And with no hesitation Wade tries to drag him under.

Laura and Vanessa cracking up at it cause it happened so fast and a quick “I forgot!” from Logan as he pulled under.

A little animation I made of Dream and Nightmare for fun, it's pretty short and simple but not bad for my second go at animation I think ^^

Quick explanation for the song and a gif version under the cut

So when I was first dipping my toes into utmv stuff like a year ago, I made a slideshow for my sister with a bunch of au Sanses, let her guess what kinda vibe she thought they had and then gave her a list of names/ aus to see if she could figure out who was who (she did surprisingly well and I'm proud of her).

Well, when I first showed her pictures of Dream her immediate reaction was "this guy looks like he's from zelda" and it's just always stuck with me. Somewhere along the way I started headcanoning Dream playing some kind of instrument when they were kids and when I heard the pan flute version of zelda's lullaby everything kind of fell into place.

So here they are, having a little moment of peace finally, brothers together again c:
