My FL main went through some really weird, organic development over the...oh god, I think it's been five years since I started playing now.
So my main is named Skadi Larkin. They are a little bastard. They started out extremely 2D; I named them after my favorite Norse goddess and the protagonist of the book I was reading at the time. I originally wanted to make them female like both of their namesakes, but the second I saw the third-gender option, I thought it was too good to pass up. This is where they got their primary base characterization as a mad scientist who wanted to Cause Problems.
Then I started the Nemesis ambition and forgot which option I'd chosen for who I was trying to avenge, so they lost both their lover and their older brother under tragic circumstances (only the lover was killed by Nemesis's antagonist, though).
Then I got an Exceptional Friendship and had to give my tragic backstory in order to gain entry to the House of Chimes. Skadi pulled said tragic backstory (orphaned in a hansom accident) more or less out of their ass, but it did establish that their parents are dead.
Somewhere down the line, I realized that technically Skadi is a linguist, since the Correspondence is a language, and I made that their profession on the Surface as well.
Around this time, I started working on character designs for my fan comic. I got really into messing around with skin tone, and somewhere along the line thought it would be fun to draw Skadi (who was originally white) with darker skin, and it stuck.
Then I abruptly realized I was taking a lot of options that increased my Melancholy, and almost all of them were based on the Surface. So now Skadi has a longing for the Surface.
I left the game for a few years, but somewhere during this stretch of time, and I don't know how this happened, but I decided Skadi was now Native American; specifically, Metis. I changed their design to incorporate a sash woven in a style characteristic of the Metis, which also added a bit of color to their design (which was mostly black or grey at this point).
During this time, I started incorporating Skadi into my fan comic. This would eventually lead me to actually flesh out their backstory in greater detail. When I started playing the game again, I also created my first alt by total accident (long story), and I decided to weave her backstory with Skadi's.
So Skadi is in the interesting position of being an Indigenous person who is what we'd probably consider Two-Spirit today but they'd just call "Bollocks to that gender crap". They never belonged on the Surface, since the Metis are in a bit of a liminal space compared to other tribes due to their interesting background (the Metis are the descendants of French settlers and Indigenous inhabitants, mostly Cree), and Skadi exists in a liminal space within that liminal space due to only being half-Metis and raised primarily in white culture, although they still maintained a connection to it through their late mother. They also never belonged because no one else on the Surface outside of the communities they already felt isolated from would ever accept them for their gender. London gave them a chance to express one of those, but not both, and despite knowing that the Surface hates them just for existing, they still long to return.
#fallen london#fallen london oc#mild fallen london spoilers ig#there's a really interesting dichotomy with all of my fl characters honestly#skadi's is just probably the most blatant#umbra belacqua (my shadowy alt) is someone who both loves very fiercely and is capable of immense cruelty at the same time#in her backstory she had the husband of her ex-fiancee (who left her at the altar) murdered because she couldn't let go of her ex's betraya#said ex is my persuasive alt and is both very socially gregarious and extremely withdrawn#he probably won't ever get a spouse just because he can't bring himself to love someone else after what happened the last time#and he had very good reason for leaving umbra because he could never love her the way she wanted#and he felt that the sympathy she would receive from his family would more than make up for the heartbreak#since umbra is obsessed with gaining power and prestige and he came from an influential family#and knew that running away with the person he really loved would get him disowned#(he doesn't know umbra killed his husband btw)#my dangerous alt is my persuasive alt's sister#she's trans and badly overcompensating for it by refusing to wear anything except feminine clothing#because it hasn't quite gotten through to her yet that no one in Fallen London particularly cares about her gender expression#and she feels like the only way she can be seriously considered a woman is if she does everything she can to look like one#which causes her a good few problems because her one true passion is violence and that's not usually considered a very feminine hobby#then their younger brother (my watchful alt) is someone ironically very disinclined to violence who resorts to it anyways#the only people he's actually going to try to kill are the ones he has to kill for his ambition#and he's not very happy about it but he doesn't have much of a choice#because while he might not like bloodshed his murdered spouse was an anarchist who definitely did#and he's determined to do right by his memory by...killing a lot of people apparently#he is not a terribly mentally stable man and when i finally get around to making his account#he's going to have a massive nightmares problem that he refuses to deal with and keeps ending up in the royal beth for it#tl;dr all my fallen london characters are going through it and have overly long and complicated backstories#my main just happens to have the most overly long and complicated of them all

hi <3
i am once again asking your thoughts on the latest act of arcane?
Honestly, my feelings on S2 so far are pretty mixed.
:')
On the one hand, visually, it's absolutely heartstopping. The cinematography is incredible, and it's the first time in a while where every episode felt like an experience I had to endure in a good way. Plus the score, the voice-acting, and the sound design is, as usual, top notch.
Buuuut when you have all these stellar spheres working on this show, it makes the areas where they drop the ball stand out.
For me, that's the plot.
Alot of folks have criticized the pacing and how there's too much piled into one season. Personally, at this point I've made peace with the breakneck speed and sort of taken it as a given in a series where 'War' is the overarching theme. I can even let go of the fact that certain plot beats don't feel earned, as there's so much subtlety and foreshadowing that you can easily make the case for them via long-drawn out analyses of every frame.
But the writing, ohhhh boy. The writing. It feels like there's a disconnect between the overall plot and the individual character moments.
It's really hard to articulate, but I'll do my best.
I love that we're getting so much characterization for the main cast. Every episode, it feels like there's a new layer peeled back, and each of our leads has an opportunity to shine.
And that's exactly the problem. They're all shining.
Separately.
When I think about it, the reason why S1 worked so well was because every episode gave us a glimpse into the mind of someone different. We got a taste of what it was like to be in the head of every major player in the cast, and through this, we grew to understand their motivations, their fears, their hopes. I've used the 'gem' analogy in previous reviews, and the way the show handled that concept was amazing. Every character was a facet of the gem that was Arcane, and each shift of PoV allowed us to see them from a new angle.
There was coherence. There was cohesion. And there was a sense of complexity told in a concise and well-planned format.
S2, for me, doesn't quite work the same way.
It's not that I don't understand the characters, or that I don't appreciate the way they're handled. It's just that their individual journeys are so self-contained. I'm not getting a sense of their interpersonal connections. More as if they're crashing into and out of each other's lives, without ever stopping to have a proper conversation.
It's a common complaint with ensemble casts, and I don't mind it for the most part, but the problem here is that Arcane has been very careful about establishing its characters as part of a cohesive whole. They're not just random individuals who happen to share a stage. They're siblings, lovers, colleagues, friends, enemies, etc. And the reason why we can relate to them is because, on some level, they mirror our own relationships. We've seen how they treat each other, and we've come to care about them.
But in this season, I feel like there's been a failure to communicate.
Scenes between characters feel like a series of disconnected vignettes, some of which are great and some of which are not so great. It's as if the writers are trying to force the characters to react to the plot rather than the other way around.
I don't want to be overly critical. So much love and effort has gone into making this show, and I'd never want to disparage the efforts of so many talented artists.
But, yeah. Coherence is a bit of an issue.
I will say, however, that re: the subject of grief, especially in Jinx's journey, this season has delivered some beautiful moments. It's a surprisingly nuanced treatment of a complicated and ugly emotion, and it's something I wish more shows would tackle. The problem with a lot of modern storytelling is that, because it's trying so hard to be edgy, complex and subversive, it doesn't really leave any room for just letting characters exist. And Jinx's arc in particular is a perfect example of this.
I was worried, going into the season, that they'd take the easy route and paint her as a pure monster, utterly deranged from her loss. That's what the fandom seems to want, anyway, and it's what you'd probably expect given the general climate.
But instead, the show has chosen for Jinx to be vulnerable, and to let her arc be honest. Granted, Isha, though she's adorable, still doesn't quite feel like a full-fleshed out person, but Jinx's bond with her has been written with such heartbreaking realism that I'm inclined to forgive the former for the sake of the latter. It's just refreshing to see the series not to take that insulting and reductive 'but Jinx is crazy' route, and instead allow her to grapple with the pain of losing her family and the horror of what she's done, but to also heal old wounds with brand-new connections.
'Crazy' does not mean 'irredeemable.'
And it's about time more mainstream media got this memo.
The series also continues to be stellar at showcasing so much with such restraint. A lot of the scenes don't last longer than a few minutes, and yet you can feel so much conveyed in that brief window. And the framing and composition is consistently masterful.
Overall, though, I'm a bit underwhelmed by this season so far. It feels like an incomplete masterpiece, and the sense that the narrative has lost control is starting to get overwhelming. We've still got Act 3 left, and I'm hoping the final stretch is able to tie things together a little more neatly.
Anyway, thank you for reading this mess! And feel free to share your thoughts as well. I'm curious to hear how other people are finding the series.

hi zen!! my friends and i are doing a powerpoint night this monday and like any self-respecting person almost 7 months deep in a dangan hyperfixation (i'm never getting out of here) i am using it as a platform for an all-encompassing kmhn infodump. this powerpoint is going to be the komahina bible and i want to hit Every Stop. i will grab everything i can find. no hesitation. however !! the danganronpa franchise is A Lot. so there's always a chance i will miss something. so! as a fellow kmhn understander and enthusiast, is there any particular Komahina Moment or piece of analysis you feel people often miss or overlook? could be big or small, or involve just one of the two of them, but i'd appreciate the input! <3 have a good one :D
OH MY GOD??? I’LL TRY TO ANSWER IN TIME FOR YOUR POWERPOINT LMAO THAT SOUNDS AWESOME?????? You should record it! Well, you probably will, but I’m still saying it anyways just in case you aren’t, because something that fun going unrecorded sounds like a tragedy!
I’ve had ideas of doing all encompassing komahina rambles for a video or something, but I’m already working on other projects so It’ll be a long time before I even try lmao. Makes me happy someone is trying something similar, and with friends no less! I’d be happy to help in any way I can, I hope you and your friends have fun! :D
ANYWAYS. I’ll say a huge ramble of Komahina things and hope it helps LOL.
This is more of a silly statement, but for a FULL Komahina coverage I think it’s most satisfying to cover the different flavors of komahina, if that makes sense? Like, depending on what approach you’re taking you may not cover kamukoma, since to a degree that’s an entirely different ship, but you’d still cover the canon adjacent other flavors. Basically, try including the canon adjacent variations!!! The Dangan island events are good for analyzing their dynamic with less horrible circumstances bringing them to worst and causing them to hurt each other. The stage plays are also great to mention since there’s some komahina content that is play original, and seeing them physically interact is fun! Can’t forget the Komahina CD too Lol. There’s also smaller things like their anniversary outfits, especially the matching purple ones, their animal outfits, and their Danganronpa S Swimsuits!
Little details that are so special to me are things like the parallel of Nagito waking Hajime up being reserved in Danganronpa 2.5, and there’s also how things like Hajime’s grief for Nagito that’s so compelling, special, and telling about their dynamic.
I think my main thing to actually add on properly is that, a lot of people say Hajime hates Nagito which is absolutely incorrect. I don’t think I’d try so hard or care enough to revive and or wait until a person I hated woke up. Hajime displays he actively cares a lot, they just happen to feel hurt and betrayed by each other due to the circumstances. Komahina is unhealthy but it isn’t toxic, if that phrase makes sense. The beauty of it is that they grow TO be healthier, they learn to love each other, understand each other, and in the process learn to understand and love themselves. Komahina is reciprocal, it gets unhealthy due to circumstances, but it is reciprocal and the beauty of it is them becoming healthier together.
Nagito is not a malicious psychopath, and Hajime is not an overly horny person with no personality, I see them misinterpreted and characterized like that constantly It’s ridiculous. Hajime is awkward, conflicted, introverted, caring, and tries to be positive but ultimately is usually a realist. Hajime gets attached to people easily and deals with discrimination, insecurity, and self esteem. Hajime is relatable enough to where he’s empathetic but unique enough to where he’s special.
Nagito is a mentally ill queer coded man who is an antagonist and an anti-hero. He is morally gray when it comes to his unhealthy coping mechanism and has complicated beliefs, he’s honest, intelligent, struggles with insecurity, struggles with self esteem, has absolute beliefs influenced by hope’s peak, is a parallel and warped version of Makoto while being his own person, and he’s very sweet. Nagito’s love language seems to be mostly playful teasing, he rambles a lot and weirds people out just by saying what he thinks is fact. He has tonal issues and usually isn’t self aware, despite this he also worries about the impression he gives off if he thinks it matters. His beliefs are very hierarchy based and he thinks he’s all the way at the bottom, he doesn’t absolutely hate people like him but he thinks they have no purpose other than to help those more capable and projects onto them. Nagito is a very complex character, he is numb to intense situations due to the immense trauma of it being normal for him. He’s optimistic but also pessimistic, he’s positive but also incredibly anxious, he’s well intentioned but also thinks anything is okay if it’s for hope, there’s a lot to Nagito but in the end once it clicks it really clicks. He is contradictory in a way that perfectly makes sense, creating the perfect character. There’s a lot to him but when you understand him there’s no need for words, you just get it. There’s a feeling to him, an understanding, and I think that’s really special. He really is amazing.
Anyways, the ramble on summarizing both of their characters simply is to more expand on points about their dynamic! Nagito and Hajime are sides of the same coin. Nagito is irrational when it comes to Hajime in the way that he defies his normal behaviors because he usually avoids others and thinks he’s not worth the ultimates time, it means so much to me that Nagito just immediately had a feeling and connection with him. I’ve seen some people not think about it, but genuinely Komaeda feels something upon first sight and it’s irrational given his regular behavior it’s so sweet.
This has been just a lot of me rambling, but hopefully some of it helps! I had fun yapping haha, thanks for you ask!
#danganronpa#nagito komaeda#sdr2 nagito#danganronpa nagito#sdr2#sdr2 komaeda#danganronpa komaeda#komaeda nagito#danganronpa goodbye despair#nagito#komahina#kmhn#hikoma#hinakoma#hajime hinata#hajime#hinata#hinata hajime#yapping#hope this helps#i guess???#sorry if it doesn’t lol#i feel like there’s more i could add but yknow

Do you think Aziraphale has been verbally, emotionally and psychologically abused by Heaven as well?
I will answer this question like one asked in good faith even though my gut is telling me there's a 50/50 chance it is very much not one.
So!
There are two parts to his answer, or rather one question is actually two.
Firstly, we have to talk about whether heaven is abusive, what that abuse looks like, and how it differs from hell.
Secondly, how did the results of question one affect Aziraphale, if it is different from what the other angels in heaven face, and what additional trauma might he have experienced due to being on earth.
I could write a 10k meta post about this and go into the finest detail, but I will just try and stick to the main points for now. It's still going to be way too long because I am so fucking tired of people accusing me of 'hating' Aziraphale or harassing me on my posts or in my inbox.
Is heaven abusive? Yes, and it applies to both heaven as an institution and the Archangels running it.
Getting to know Muriel and what their life looks like was extremely helpful in properly defining this, because they showed us that although the Archangels tend to travel and work as a group, most of the angels are incredibly isolated.
The result is complete emotional neglect, which not only impairs your ability to form and maintain healthy relationships with other people, it also stops your from learning emotional regulation and how to behave and feel as a part of (angelic) society. We see the consequences of that in Muriel, who comes across as overly naive, socially awkward, and out of touch with not just people but themselves.
When your entire life has been shrunk down to what happens inside your own head, suddenly being confronted with having to live outside of your mind is jarring, overwhelming, and foreign.
How do you talk to people when no one ever taught you how to do that? How do you behave around someone after a lifetime of being alone? How do your regulate your responses to their behaviour?
Who are you when there is someone else to perceive you?
Figuring that out is complicated and it takes time, and while most of the angels are only distantly aware of how humans live and what kind of interactions some of the other angels might have, the effects of that neglect stay the same whether they are aware of it or not.
Muriel shows us that angels are not born/made as a blank slate, and neither are humans for that matter. Tabula rasa as a philosophical belief is one thing, but reality is very, very different.
Angels also appear to have the same inherent need for connection, for a caretaker that loves them unconditionally, for someone to help them figure out how to be, and that provides a safe space to make mistakes. Without some or all of that, you grow up into a disregulated, socially awkward if not inept person who does not know how to have relationships or how to properly exist.
It is one of the reasons why autistic people are a) almost always traumatized to some degree and b) do not know how to socialize. No one ever works with our brains, and the resulting neglect is very similar to not receiving any help at all.
If you are now curious what happens if you're both autistic and were completely socially neglected, the result is uh. me. Hi! Not nice, but at least I am very sure I win the award for being my therapist's most fucked up client, so that's something.
Yet the angels are not solely emotionally neglected, the system/household they live in demands a low self-esteem, a lack of individual identity, and complete adherence to a defined ideology and behavioural pattern. In short, you are told how to be a useless, tiny part in a bigger machine, that your only purpose is to succeed at your tasks, and any opportunity for individual development is removed or destroyed.
If you are now once again curious what that might be like, uh, yeah, hi once more. Obviously my childhood was not exactly like an angels life, but the core characteristics were the same, just realized differently. Again, not pretty, really, really fucks you over.
Take that and the neglect, combine it into one person, and then drop them in the Garden of Eden—hello Aziraphale! Crowley got dropped into hell first, experienced more abuse, and then dug his way up into Eden before joining him.
Aziraphale experienced everything Muriel (and Crowley, and every other celestial being) also experienced, with one main difference: He is the one who got away.
We have to remember that out of every single celestial being, Aziraphale got the best deal. He did not fall, he got out of heaven (more or less) permanently, and was then largely left alone.
Does that erase anything I laid out above? No, of course not!
It simply provided him with the opportunity to heal, to take his cPTSD and who knows what other disorders he developed as a result, and start recovering.
Canonically, heaven did not bother him, like, ever, except for the odd note about 'frivolous miracles' or ten minutes of catching up every millennia. They only started monitoring him once they started to suspect he was involved with Crowley and trying to stop the apocalypse from happening.
Aziraphale worked on some things, he got better in many regards, especially with Crowley there to support him, but after six thousand years, many aspects have stayed the same or regressed back to the start over and over.
I will tell you a hard pill to swallow now: If you refuse to acknowledge your issues to instead live in a world of nicer denial and compartmentalization even when you have been offered the chance to change it, that is partly on YOU.
Is it fair? Fuck no! It's not fair at all, and I have had so many breakdowns over that fact. I did not break it, this is not my FAULT so why should I have to fix it all on my own? Why do I have to do the work, not them? How come they get away with it while I am going to have to carry this for the rest of my life?
I still have to do it though. I have to do the work, no matter how uncomfortable and exhausting, because I want to get better.
-
This conversation has so many facets and is a lot more complex, but this is already long enough, so if you have any questions or want to know something specific (while asking politely and in good faith) just send me an ask; I will do my best to answer it.
-
We are now only missing the last part of question 2, and that one is also so fucking complicated reducing it to the main points almost feels wrong, but I will do it anyway. Again, just ask if you have questions.
Abusive households are horrible, and you want to get out and away, but they are also the only thing you know. The world is scary, too big, too open, where did all the rules go that were previously defining your life?
Surviving in an abusive environment means you establish routine after routine after routine for every possible horrible scenario, you write a mental rule book to try and reduce the abuse (don't make them angry, don't cry when they're already shouting, don't do this, don't do that, do x but not y), and THAT is your socialization. THAT is everything you know, everything you are, everything you know relationships to be like.
Once you are away from that, you are completely and utterly lost. Even breathing feels like making a mistake, you feel watched, judged, rated, berated, you have them stuck in your fucking head. So you keep sticking to what you know, your behavioural patterns that have kept you safe your entire life.
The problem is that they kept you safe, past tense. In a healthy environment, all of those coping mechanisms are now maladaptive and harm you instead of keeping you safe.
However, breaking out of them and starting from scratch is terrifying. So, so, so terrifying. I live in constant fear, I feel judged and unsafe in my own flat with the curtains shut and the lights on. I feel like I am about to get subjected to another one of his fits for daring to use the stove.
No matter what you do, your body and brain are SCREAMING at you that diverging from what you know will kill you—and then you have to do it anyway.
Do it alone and afraid and awkwardly but DO IT. Otherwise you will always find a way to recreate the environment you grew up in, whether that is people getting into unhealthy relationships and replicating the patterns they know (which Aziraphale does with Crowley, e.g. the push-pull of his affection) or eventually even returning to it because they ruined you, but a part of you is so, so attached to them you just have to try and change them.
Some people can move on from it without going back, but sometimes you need to try and experience that failure for yourself before being able to move on, and that's where Aziraphale is at.
He needs to try and fail to be capable of finally committing to recovering.
So, to summarize this entire shitshow: Yes, Aziraphale experienced emotional neglect and abuse, and while it is different to what Crowley went through and objectively less intense and physical, it is still just as valid and horrid.
Just because a car accident is objectively worse than falling off a bike doesn't mean the biker's pain is unimportant. Both can kill you, both can hurt you, and both deserve to get their injuries treated.

hello! just listened to the spotify playlist for "this grave calls you home" and i am SOOO HYPED for the demo release!! how's the progress going so far? awesome music taste btw i'd love to know more; is this your first time developing an interactive story, and how long have you been stirring this idea in your head for? :D reading about it makes me want to rewatch the media it's inspired by lol. esp alien
howdy there!!
AHHH THANK U SO MUCH!! you have no idea how much this ask made my day :') !!! u are so, so sweet!! i try really hard with these playlists lol so i'm soooo glad!!
progress is going good!!! I have all of the prologue coded!! i had the thought just to drop it this week to let everyone have a little sense of the tone of the story, but I do want to add a few more things to it since the pro really is only a page.
i'm wanting to try composing somewhat of a soundtrack for the game, so that'll take me a bit, but the pieces won't be overly complicated because music theory is mine enemy >;(
it is not my first time developing an interactive story!!
Tell Me If There's A Way Home was the first story i ever posted online and something i first started writing in 2019 and posted here on tumblr in 2021. it's, like, literally the story of my heart. so i've spent the better part of 5 years (!!!!) trying to get it right. i reformatted tmitawh from an interactive novel to an actual real life novel that i'm currently trying to query to literary agents. (trad publishing is HELL) while i've been working/waiting on this, i've been doing something stupid and making a game about it (???) idk perhaps more to come on this later. the reality of trad publishing is that your book just may never be sold, straight up. so i'm preparing other ways for everyone to be able to witness this story just in case.
The Mouths Of Elysium is currently my OTHER IF that I'm (still!!) working on. a small demo for this is available here! this was inspired by my terrible brain's obsession with Jim Henson's Labyrinth and also my desire to see women be terrible and twisted because i think it's hot. i am not sorry about this >:-)
This Grave Calls You Home hit me like a lightning strike pretty much immediately after watching Interstellar. in the past, I've also posted something about a post-apocalypse story after humanity fled to the stars, but felt that this too was not right and so I took a break from this to figure out the story a bit better. it came to me 2 years later in the form of this story!! i was compelled by this idea of a lone astronaut. they're literally like cowboys, just in a different setting. loneliness is the singular thing that scares me most in this world, above anything tangible and not. space is the epitome of loss, of loneliness. nothing exists and therefore, you do not exist. i became so very nearly feverish with this idea of an astronaut lost forever in space, the memory only barely surviving the absence and then the implications of this as well.
i also love media where the narrator of the story is not the main character and more of a witness. of course, the MC of TGCYH changes the story based on the choices you make while reading, but in truth The Astronaut is the protagonist of this story. this story doesn't exist without The Astronaut.
a lot (read: all ) of my work revolves around this concept of loss, grief, and then the after. what does it look like when you are a stranger to yourself after these traumatic events. what does it look like when you have to manually pick the pieces of yourself off the ground, hands shaking as you slot them back together in this now fucked up, mismatched picture of who you were before. what happens when you realize you have to start from scratch with all new pieces. is it better to get back what you've lost, or is it better to move on? this question propels everything i write, i think.
#tell me if there's a way home#the mouths of elysium#this grave calls you home#thank you so much!!#i hope you are having a great week and staying warm!! <3

weird barely thought out rambling about my process here sorry if it sounds like a lot
so i guess i should say there was totally an idea of a plan in place for like. okay they’ll all get one on one time then i can get em all talking and explaining plot something and get stuff rolling.
but then it was like jennika reached through the screen and grabbed me and said NO. help mikey right now this isnt just flavour text you have to commit. and i said yep no you’re so right actually thats way more important.
and then i guess that happened it made me kinda look back over everything and everyone and decide WELL. maybe this is what the story really is, just a lot of overly emotional vulnerable conversations where everybody feels fucked up but they just kinda talk it through with each other, as good or bad as they are at it. maybe thats more important.
i guess the things i wrote just trying to flesh out the rest of it ended up being the story kinda thing. the aftermath of all these other things turned out to be more interesting than trying to get into some "real" plot.
like to be fucking real thats whats been so interesting to me. the 'worst case scenario' ended ages ago, intended to just be that part as a 'get it out of your system' personal thing of writing the most fucked up thing i could. but then it kept going with the effects of it still hang over the characters.
shredders dead yet somehow its like hes still the main antagonist because all the conflict stems from him. defeating him didnt end the story.
i guess i could say over and over that if i had thought it all through it would come off better. dont know if i would have implemented things like raph's comatose state or random forced pheromone bullshit, nor the speed up on the pregnancy period. feel like i would have put april and casey into the story better without dropping them the way i have. i could have written better set up, better payoff. but its not about being planned, its all a weird game of improv im playing with myself that has the unintended consequences of being too fascinating to stop. too fascinating to keep to myself.
and thats been what it is, the gross messy dramatic sappy corny healing process. its absolutely gonna be over 200k words by the end, which is. you know. NUTS. ive not posted my writing before all this nonsense so hhhhrgh you know.
but....... maybeeee its kinda a lot? like too corny too dark too messy too weirdly written? but i just feel like.... meh. its my personal soap opera, i get to decide how long that shit goes on for. whether it seems like im beating a dead horse or not, its my dead horse to beat.
and things like that last chapter are like... AH. would everyone have rathered i sit them all down and make them tell you whats going on? too bad, leos had an anxiety attack so we dont get that right now cuz he genuinely cant take it. the completely unintentional letting the characters fucking experience complicated emotions even if they are gonna get in the way of what my plan might have been IS the story.
in a sense i am the adult turtles telling those kids 'no its okay, take a second to feel that out, we can wait'
its such an interesting way of expressing something, not really sure what else i could say.
but im having fun. i guess thats the point.
if my insanity helps anybody else, well, thats a bonus.

It's very weird to me how Swifties who aren't dating or married being extremely obssessed with and taking it personally Taylor's assumed future wedding to Travis (I'm not denying it being a thing which might happen). It's the same people who won't let Joe Alwyn go as we rapidly run towards the two year anniversary of Joever. It just feels like a unhealthy thing to make your life and think about for hours a day. They need different and more hobbies. People taking Taylor's successes and failures a little too personally, in my eyes, and the only thing she hasn't 'conquered' yet is getting wedded. Even if reading into her actions it's not a priority and she seemingly has mixed feelings about marriage and long term relationships themselves. Reading her own lyrics and how she see's herself. i dunno.
despite my discussions i do try not to be too judgy with my reaction considering my own weird swiftie fixations (everyone has them) I think the marriage thing just bothers me bc of my own actual feelings on like....the cultural idea of heterosexual marriage and how much weight that is given, ideas that taylor has reflected on in her music many many times in many ways dating back to debut. And yeah part of it is that taylors feelings are clearly complicated and a lot of the talk feels more like everyone wanting taylor to finish the Real Main Quest of getting married and having babies which is such a present and aggressive cultural idea like i said earlier, and a very heavy decision to expect someone to make in a relationship that has been like 75% jetsetting between work and concerts.
As a very autistic person who gets very fixated on things (and an unemployed icon. Im trying my best its hard out here) it is something i understand, especially if most of your social circle are also entrenched in swiftiedom that it would be a Topic Of Discussion. Maybe im resorting to my overly reasonable instincts here considering how much I bitch abt this. I wont argue with online fandom being all absorbing (another issue ive also been dealing with as of late) and a dear Need for an entirely separate hobby or interest so that you dont drive yourself insane being trapped in taylorworld 24/7.
#ask#anonymous#taylor swift#i also think its still weird to be fixated on marriage as her end goal even if you are married/in a ltr#at least a little. not to live in a society but its very....heterosexual and can sometimes become more than-#- a little misogynistic especially in how travis (and other partners) can get centered and put on a pedestal within fan spaces#thats how you get people losing it over joe and taylor (who were noticably on the rocks) splitting up and then constantly#flip flopping on joe marking him as either the most evil man alive or the actual only moral person who is horribly Wronged#hes just some asshole actor dude. he seems like a kind of distant and quiet guy. Im sure hes normal.#travis is a totally different type of asshole guy who i liked at first and has only soured on me more with time

K Reviews and Rants: Miraculous Ladybug Season 5! Episode 16
Hello, everyone, and welcome to another day of my mind melting over this show's writing.
Now, there isn't a ton to say on Episode 16; it's honestly one of the more mediocre episodes, since it's main issues are that the entire plot is artificially constructed to revolve around Kagami once again believing Lila's lies and manipulations, despite having known that Lila is someone she can't trust and who likes to emotionally hurt her since "Oni-Chan." It could've been an interesting look of Kagami struggling to balance the impossible expectations her mother forces on her and breaking from the crippling loneliness those expectations instill in her... but that's the kind of plot we should've seen in SEASON 2, maybe Season 3 if you stretched it. It's just far too little too late to be trying something like this.
We also are given the apparent reveal that Gabe and Tomoe are angling to force their kids into a relationship... for some reason. We aren't given a reason why they want to do this, when this deal was reached, or why Adrien or Kagami never even KNEW about each other prior to this season. It comes out of nowhere, and while the concept of exploring the expectations of high society folks and how it impacts their kids in the form of arranged relationships, particularly in how it negatively impacts the relationships they would prefer to have, would be interesting... this was never hinted at before. It wasn't even alluded to. So why the hell are we only learning about this NOW?
Anyway, that's my reflection on this episode, keep reading for the review below. Thank you, and as always, please forgive any profanity on my part.
Episode 16: Protection
Okay, it's Protection, and we get a scene of Kagami hanging out for Lila for some reason, despite having an established history of the girl lying, manipulating, and using her. Off to a "great" start.
Lila talks about how she's Kagami's "best friend" which is BS... or maybe something about Marinette being Kagami's best friend, it's a bit hard to tell for me.
Now it's a bit of unfunny commentary on HOW FUCKING LONG IT TOOK FOR MARINETTE AND ADRIEN TO GET TOGETHER by their classmates. No Astruc, trying to go "hey, we get it, don't we get it guys?" and be self-aware about the singularly most infuriating part of the show does not make it less insufferable. Wow, they nearly had a swear by Nathaniel. I gotta say, I was genuinely not expecting that.
And Marinette's obsession for overly complicated plans has infected the entire class that they are going along with what amounts to getting Marinette and Adrien to kiss through a ridiculously overly complicated "romantic moment" involving a Ferris Wheel and trained pigeons, instead of just... telling them to kiss or letting them sort it out themselves.
And Marinette hitting the nail on the head of how just trying to kiss someone you are too shy/awkward to say you love is ridiculously hard... Ugh. I just... the show trying to make a joke about how overly complicated the romantic plots in the show itself just falls apart because we KNOW they are gonna try and go through this anyway, and "self-awareness" is more than just mentioning the problems with something, it's also about growing past it, which the cast clearly HAS NOT DONE.
Saying a "kiss is a miracle cure for all your problems" genuinely disgusts me. It's such a reductive and deliberately idiotic take on romance that it offends me that the show is trying to make it's utterly terrible handling of any and all relationships INTO A FUCKING JOKE.
...Why the FUCK are Adrien and Marinette's classmates treating Fairy Tale and fictional tropes regarding kissing as some kind of ironclad fact of reality? WHY!? I was about to go on an angry rant about how Marinette is talking sense about waiting for things to happen in their own time, when it clicked in that the writers are deliberately making her and Adrien's classmates/friends into strawmen as a way to shut up people who just wanted the relationship drama between Marinette and Adrien to just FUCKING END ALREADY!! So now I'm too pissed off to rant. Now my blood is fucking BOILING.
And the plan immediately goes off the rail because Nino doesn't even know how to play the guitar. Oh, and the fact that Kitty Section's music is REALLY not romantic in the slightest in any way that would be conducive to making things go better, but yeah, they did Nino fucking dirty. The dude wants to be a DJ, he should be WELL AWARE of how hard it is to use ANY kind of fucking instrument, least of all one like a guitar!!
Them making Marinette run off in tears while sad music plays REALLY DOESN'T WORK when they basically made the ENTIRE FUCKING PLAN as ridiculous as possible while making everyone act as if it going off without a hitch was a given.
Okay, we get another case of the writers relying on stupid as hell Japanese stereotypes with Tomoe referring to Gabriel's heartbeat as "louder than a Taiko Drum." Oh, and something about a Diamond Ball, which I'm pretty sure is gonna be fucking stupid.
Okay, is Tomoe supposed to be blind or not? Because the writers are deliberately angling her head so she's directly facing Gabriel's arm as he unrolls his sleeve and exposes the Cataclysm injury (which she literally can't see, so he has no reason to be EXPOSING THE THING TO OPEN AIR!!).
Adrien... no. Fuck that. Even discounting how sheltered you are, you CANNOT be this fucking stupid. You CANNOT be so stupid as to think Marinette's painful levels of awkwardness was "just the way she is, just part of her charm." Like, shit like THIS is why I just cannot get behind them as a couple on a personal level, because THAT is not a healthy attitude to have in a relationship!! That's the kind of attitude you have towards someone you barely know, not someone you apparently know well-enough to want to date. It says very bad things about their dynamics as a couple.
Them acting as if Adrien just NOW learning about Marinette's emotional issues regarding him is supposed to make him more sympathetic falls apart when you stop and realize that the ONLY fucking reason it's this bad is the fact that they have artificially stretched out the reveal and stagnated Adrien and Marinette's relationship this entire time. You can't make this a touching moment because all it does is highlight just how mismatched the two ARE as a couple!! And now we get Tomoe overhearing a fragment of a conversation between Adrien and Kagami. THAT can't possibly backfire!!
Ugh... the creepy emphasis on "Made for each other" and "Just as planned" is so disgusting.
NEITHER OF THEM ARE FUCKING PERFECT YOU IDIOTIC RICH TWITS!!!! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!!!
NOW they get that Kagami and Adrien aren't together and Adrien was talking about his actual "girlfriend" Marinette. Also, the show pulling this "Tomoe and Gabriel arranged to have Kagami and Adrien get together" shit comes out of nowhere, and is just cringe-inducingly bad commentary on the 1%. It's disgusting. "You've changed Adrien" NO KAGAMI HE HAS NOT.
The show going from a gentle, introspective moment of Adrien trying to do something sincerely thoughtful for Marinette to once again making Marinette's emotional and relationship problems as a fucking joke pisses me off.
"You were supposed to control your son, Gabriel." "And you, your daughter!" Wow, parents of the year, these two are TOTALLY not toxic shitheads! Tomoe, Gabriel is DYING you don't need to fucking dance around it!!
Adrien, she's not perfect, and for FUCK'S SAKE, shit like THIS is why the show trying to act like Gabe is a good parent fucking piss me off!! He is actively trying to dictate Adrien's life and refuses to acknowledge him as a human fucking BEING instead of just as a dress-up doll!!!
Why the fuck is Gabe calling Marinette, someone he once publicly acknowledged as a Designer when she was the undisputed winner of one of his fashion contests, mediocre? This literally comes out of nowhere for no other fucking purpose then for more relationship drama BS.
Well, we have another Japanese Stereotype getting spit from Tomoe's mouth, and yet another case of the show denying the possibility that relationships can just end and feelings can change, or that love is more complicated then "yes or no."
Adrien, the guy who literally broke out of his own house just so he could go to school, TWICE, acting as if his dad telling him he can't be with Marinette is some unshakable iron-clad rule. It's shit like this that makes the Senti reveal so utterly stupid.
And of fucking COURSE Gabe never bothered to take back the ring that lets someone mind-control Adrien (never mind how their care be TWO fucking Amoks for him or whatever) from the woman who has stated more than once that she's not on his side anymore and has physically assaulted him in his own house (not that she's sincerely done anything to actually stop him of course).
Marinette finally employing a strategy to circumvent her overcomplication problems would be nicer if the show wasn't currently acting as if her just deciding "not to worry and take things as-is" is this miracle fix-it that makes all her problems simple and that she can just ignore all her issues is super infuriating.
And here we go, NOW we get to see Irrational Marinette, in that she's literally refusing to change her pajamas because it'll "break the magic of the moment." Bull. Shit.
Does... does she SERIOUSLY not remember how much of a strict hardass Adrien's dad is? She probably doesn't. Because plot. Fuck the plot.
Okay, not gonna lie, Adrien changing into pajamas to make Marinette feel less self-conscious about her impulsive decision is oddly sweet. Too bad it's buried amid a mountain of shitty writing.
NOW Gabe realizes the issue with letting the woman opposing him have the same mind-control powers as him. Ugh... it's really, REALLY fucking hard to sit through this because of just how stomach-churning the writing is.
Kagami... where the fuck is "I think I've fallen in love with him again" coming from? Wait, trick question, mind-control rings. Fucking bullshit.
Do. NOT. Bring up that "meant to be together" BULLSHIT!! No one is "meant to be together," THAT IS NOT HOW RELATIONSHIPS FUCKING WORK!!!
Why the FUCK is Kagami trusting Lila on any level!?
Gabe, you OF ALL FUCKING PEOPLE have no right to call anyone on being toxic!!
Kagami, DO NOT FUCKING FALL FOR LILA'S BULLSHIT!! THIS IS LITERALLY THE SAME GIRL WHO WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO TAUNT YOU WITH A FAKED PHOTO OF HER AND ADRIEN!! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT WHAT DID THE WRITERS DO WITH HER BRAINS!?
Once again, Lila is a fucking PLOT DEVICE to enable bullshit because the writers ARE FUCKING HACKS WHO WOULDN'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE MEANINGFUL CONFLICT IF IT SLAPPED THEM ACROSS THE FACE WITH A FISH!!!
Kagami... THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU LETTING YOUR EMOTIONS CLOUDING YOUR JUDGMENT, YOUR JUDGMENT WAS FAULTY TO START WITH IN BLINDLY TRUSTING LILA DESPITE HER HAVING USED AND MANIPULATED YOU TWICE ALREADY!!!
And she immediately believes Lila's sob-story about being best friends all over again, OF FUCKING COURSE!! On the plus side, we get a hint that Gabriel is eventually gonna cut Lila loose. And with that, this fucking nightmare is over!!

Thoughts on the core trio? If you don’t want to answer them in one ask then you can just do Frankie
CHARACTER OPINION MEME || { ACCEPTING }
Anonymous Wishes || Core Trio Gen 1 (Frankie, Draculaura & Clawdeen)
Good thing I have the braincell! I decided to do all three. This is gonna be a bit of a long post so bare with me.
Frankie is the perfectly imperfect main ghoul
As far as it comes to the main, even as one of the ones shown the most, I feel like they did a good job with Frankie's character. She's not just a teen monster at Monster High, but THE teen to help you guide through it and relate to. I thought I wasn't going to like Frankie as much because of how they constantly show her most of the episodes but she balances out with her freaky flaws and difficult struggles.
Frankie's personality is what you expect for a teen experiencing High School life for the first time and is trying to fit in while going on a journey. And she takes us on the journey pretty well. She understands and learns along the way, is VERY protective of her friends and loves them enough to even DIE for them. She gets major credit for that. Plus even when the movie does focus on her, she never really overshadows the other monsters. Instead it feels like she brings them into the fold.
If there's any teen you can relate to the most, it would be Frankie in this series.
Clawdeen the fashionista is a good main that struggles
Ngl, Clawdeen was annoying at the start of her introduction, coming off as a bit of a hypocrite to contradict what she says. But eventually she builds up better from that. Clawdeen is the kinda ghoul that you wanna see throw down and look good doing it. Like her only time she threw hands was during 13 Wishes (best boovie of all) when she finally got to PUNCH someone!
Clearly Clawdeen is the tough ghoul who dreams big and even though she wasn't expanded as much ad Frankie and Draculaura, there were times I understood her plight. Like wanting to impress the people you look up to (she and Howleen are alot alike than they think), dealing with complicated younger siblings in the same school and trying to NOT knock the other monster who is giving you and your friends flat so you don't get suspended.
Scaris happens to be one of my favorites because of how it balances out and how Clawdeen got to balance herself out and learn along the way. She started off stagnant but develops along the way. She's honestly the one in the trio that needs to be exploited more.
Draculaura... the over populated one
Yeah I'm gonna say it: she's overrated (Love you Sam but not sorry!). I mentioned before that Draculaura is listed as one of my top five LEAST favorite characters, but it's not because she's a bad character. She has good morals, she supports her friends and deals with her own struggles. But its more like she's... overly spoiled? Like it's clear she is the brand favorite if you look up how she has the most amount of dolls in the franchise. And even in the remakes she lives one of the best lives in the monster world.
As for her character in itself, I honestly have a hard time sympathizing with her. Even when the movie focuses on her such as WHY DO GHOULS FALL IN LOVE or FRIGHTS,CAMERA, ACTION, the movie instead overshadows the plot for something Laura wants rather than something important such as NOT LETTING DISCRIMNATION RUN FOR THE MONSTER WORLD VAMPIRES!
Draculaura can also be invasive at times to the point where its uncomfortable for the ghouls such as GHOULS RULE on trying to force Clawdeen on a date with a guy (before she's canonically a lesbian). She WAS the head of the gossip pool before Spectra came along. And also she tends to be over-materialistic. If it wasn't for the amount of money or hierarchy she has, I'm pretty sure she and Cleo would be banned from every kind of transportation system EVER. I'm also kind of bitter for the webisode 'Draculocker' of how instead of giving her some kind of infinite purse like Jimmy neutron style, they fill up the school with giant lockers so she can store stuff. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU SOLVE YOUR HOARDER PROBLEM!
So yeah for Draculaura, not hate but they could've done better with her character and humble her down. There are other monsters in the franchise that deserve limelight time.

Godzilla vs. Megalon 50th Anniversary and the Origin of Jaguarposting
I started this account in November when my Godzilla hyperfixation was in full force thanks to a series rewatch I was doing and G-Fest. A lot of that hyperfixation was focused on Anguirus, Baragon, and Jet Jaguar.
I don’t exactly think they’re great characters or anything, I just kind of gravitated towards them for some reason. I know why for all of them, Anguirus having an off-screen reconciliation with Godzilla while forced to live together on Monster Island was actually sort of neat, I don’t like that we never get to see it and are forced to just assume it happened but its also nice to see something interesting and new, especially since this was at a point where the Showa era just kind of felt like it had grown entirely creatively bankrupt (The last truly creative Showa film is Hedorah, ik its a polarizing movie and I think that actually kind of proves my point a little). For Baragon, its that I just found it funny how they paired him with two far more popular monsters for this movie and then had him get his shit wrecked really quickly (he also has the most creative fight in the movie but I’m pretty sure I just liked him cause he’s a jobber). And for Jet Jaguar, its sort of hard to say. I know most of the western fanbase for the character likes him because of MST3K, but I never watched the GvM episode (except the Jet Jaguar song sub but that was after the hyperfixation kicked in).
The only reason I can think of is that he’s just funny to me. He’s basically the star character of this movie he isn’t in the title of and his plot just goes all over the place. He starts the movie as the invention of an engineer who wants to protect the world by piloting a robotic suit (which, considering there is an island full of monsters that is so poorly secured they could just leave anytime they wanted if they can swim or fly (almost all of them can), which they did in the last movie, its understandable why he’d do this). And by the end the suit has gained full sentience, befriended Godzilla, and defeated a bunch of underground men who control a giant bug with a drill head and drill hands. There isn’t that much explanation for most of these things either, they just sort of happen suddenly. Godzilla vs. Megalon is a terrible, terrible movie, and Jet Jaguar is the central character. Godzilla vs. Megalon is also an immensely enjoyable movie that I have subjected multiple people to so that I could see their reactions. I love it, its so fun, and Jet Jaguar is a big part of why the movie is so fun. He’s so fucking silly and stupid, I love him.
I said its hard to say why I like Jet Jaguar as much as I do, but its not impossible, in fact I basically just did. This overly long post has been mostly me saying why I like Jet Jaguar. But I haven’t really talked about Jaguarposting. Why the fuck do I post this guy? Because he’s funny to me, I made Baragon my Discord pfp for a while because he’s funny to me to. Its not super complicated, I am a very simple man. I main Blanka and Faust because they’re goofy guys, and in the same vein, I fixate on Jet Jaguar because he’s a goofy guy. The legacy of Godzilla vs. Megalon is that its a stupid fucking movie. Jaguarposting is a celebration of that movie’s stupidity, the idea that a post is funny solely because it features a character from the film.
I didn’t realize March 17th was Megalon’s birthday, I didn’t see any posts about it on the day and didn’t have the date committed to memory. So this post is late. But I still want to wish GvM a happy 50th. Maybe go watch it in it’s honor and hopefully see what I’ve been rambling on about for this long.
If you don’t know what Jaguarposting is, don’t worry, I’ve only ever used the term once and made like 5 posts in the genre across all social media. However its my first post on Tumblr, so I felt it was about time to explain myself.

Doom WADs’ Roulette (2009): Cheogsh 2
Surprise!
No clowns to scare you today!
But, yeah, change of plans, people. It looks like the version of GZDoom that I’m using is incompatible with Happy Time Circus II, so I had to use ZDoom; and with this rather archaic source port, combined with walking through darkness most of the time, trying to guess where to go, and the gnawing, bouncing heads from the first HTC returning from that map, I’ll have to slowly play it bit by bit in between reviewing other Doom maps/WADs if I have to keep my sanity intact.
Also, forgot to mention in my Killing Adventure review that I am promoting that WAD to the main Revenant Awards ceremony.
S2: Cheogsh 2
Main author(s): Shadowman and Guest
Release date: November 19th, 2009
Version(s) played: ???
Required port compatibility: GZDoom
Levels: 7
The original Cheogsh map was one of my favorites from the 2007 Cacowards. And today, we will be looking at its (sorta) sequel, with more maps, more stuff, and being more ambitious. But after two years in development, did the main author’s ambitions overwhelm this WAD?
Okay, spoilers right not since I don’t care – IT DID.
But how much did these ambitions ruin the sequel to what I thought was a pretty good map? Well… Allow me to tell.
Review based on one playthrough with no screenshots (I really need to add it as a rule).
Oh, right. There is also a plot that is generic some marine dudes have gone missing and it all goes to shit from there. Not really much to talk about.
Now, to properly start talking about this WAD, I can at least say that, like the first Cheogsh, it looks great. It’s basically the same style as with the previous Doom map, but on seven, hub-based maps and adds new stuff like the crystal mines and buildings that weren’t originally in the city section.
Music was also great to listen to. I recognized at least three tracks from the first Cheogsh (which were already great), and the new ones are enjoyable to listen to. I wish I had more to say here.
Now, properly playing Cheogsh 2 is… oh boy… Where do I begin?! Remember how I said that the first WAD wasn’t really that complicated to play through? Well, it looks like the main author decided to snort some of that moon dust and turn it into an overly-complicated, mind-numbing filth that sucks the fun from playing this WAD.
Yeah, it’s one of those WADs that are style over substance. Now, it is not as painful to play before visiting New City of the Damned since you mostly depend on your sight to find important switches, where to go next (like through the passage in one of the gardens in Border Village), and knowing that three rooms are available near the library in Temple of Seth at the start. But as soon you reach the city itself, it all goes down the shitter.
Sure, in the previous installment, you had a similar section with the demonic city with catacombs in a temple, but there, while only the catacombs part felt like a too-dark, mangled maze full of switch hunting, here, not only the catacombs section is bigger than the original Cheogsh, but all of its cons spread to the city as well. It got so bad that I refused to go further without giving myself night-vision goggles through cheating each, bloody minute!
It was that painful to play this part; to the point that I thought I glitched the map until I found out that the silent teleporter that loops one section of catacombs can be beaten by running backwards as soon as you touch it. Now try figuring it out without a guide, you re*YOUTUBE*!
I’m not entirely sure if the cutscenes are better or worse here. On the one hand, you can change how long the dialogue stays on screen (once you bind the key, of course), so you can swipe them really fast if you don’t care about this shit. On the other hand, there are at least 1-2 cutscenes without dialogue that just show you what’s happening on the screen, and it takes a while for them to end. I’m not sure if they can be skipped as well, but I think it would be really beneficial if you were able to do that.
Aside from two new keys (black and white skulls in the city area), there are also a few new items such as blood flask and soul gems that are used for progression. There is also something called Osiris’ Eye; I’m not sure what it does, and I don’t even think I grabbed it when I played the WAD.
I don’t know what to think of the difficulty. It was far from being hard but there were moments that felt like an artificial bump in it, like the final boss and the mine section that I’ll get into in the moment.
Not to mention how I feel like the WAD sometimes respawns monsters when you move back to the earlier maps, and it feels like a punishment for not knowing what to do and where to go next.
The mine section is also annoying; you lose your weapons, and you have to find them back while wielding nothing but reskinned chainsaw. Oh, and also you end with a single-digit health. It kind of feels like a filler since it adds nothing to the WAD aside from the challenge that feels next to impossible if you try to get your guns back without finding secrets.
Of course, like the previous installment, Cheogsh 2 has new enemies. Aside from all of the enemies from the first Cheogsh (minus the boss from that map), there are also additional enemies like one new variant for Imp, Lost Soul, and Revenant (that pretends to be dead and is blue now), along with a couple of new Hell Nobles, like Afrit (the easy one). One of these is the final boss (I don’t know if it’s actually Cheogsh again); he reeks of bullshit due to shooting tiny, ridiculously fast projectiles and has shades that suck off your health fast as shit (and these are barely visible).
And… I guess that’s all what I have to say about this WAD. Cheogsh 2 is another WAD that collapsed under the author’s ambitions. It might be bigger in scope, but it also inflates the problems that were plaguing the previous installment along with adding new ones. Play the original map. It will give you more fun than this WAD (it gave me at least).
And since this is the only partial conversion runner-up I managed to beat (since I think I can stomach Happy Time Circus II for around an hour per day), I am promoting THIS WAD to the main Revenant Awards ceremony.
Hopefully, I will be able to/remember about finishing the scary clown Doom map part two.
Good thing that the next WAD on the list is from Eternal. Hopefully, it will wash out the stains this one left.

Since I’m gonna do a major revamp to FNAF MUSOPHOBIA, I’m gonna share the original versions of this AU since it changed a lot over time. This post is covering the second version of this AU, made around summer of 2023 and where Musophobia first got its name from. This version of the AU had small changes but I’m only featuring the major story changes made. I will also be marking previous Musophobia post under the tag #oldmusophobia
Character groups
Main characters - Michael Afton, Charlie Emily, Vanessa, Jeremy Fitzgerald
Afton Family - William Afton, Goldy Afton (Mrs Afton), Carlton Afton (CC), Abby Afton, and Michael Afton
Emily Family - Henry Emily, Annie Emily (Mrs Emily), Sammy Emily, Cassidy Emily (yes she’s the bio daughter of Hen and Anne), and Charlie Emily
Charlie’s friends - John, Carlton, Cassidy, Jessica
Mimic cult - Steve Raglan, Reagan Rose (Tape Girl), Jeremy Fitzgerald, Vanessa
Possessed animatronics - the classic animatronics, mangle, Springtrap/Rat-trap, the puppet/ennard
Major relationships
Mike and Jeremy - Dating
Vanny and Reagan - Dating
Mike and Charlie - Adoptive guardian and child
The start of the business
The first location is opened under the Fredbears (or fredcats, since this AU changed the species of Fredbear and Springbonnie to a cat and a rat hence why the AU was called Musophobia) branding inside a mall, but a few years later a sinkhole caused most of the building to be buried under dirt. William Afton and Henry Emily (the owners) decided to rebrand the business to Freddy’s.
Afton deaths
Abby in this AU sacrifices herself to her father to try and prevent any other murders (I don’t remember how she found out or how she would think her sacrifice would end things but whatever) and takes the form of shadow Bonnie (baby isn’t possessed in this AU) Mrs. Afton, aka Goldy, is murdered by William and possesses Golden Freddy. Carlton’s death wasn’t really thought of much while making this AU but just assume it’s kinda similar to canon, neither was Michaels since his death was farther into story and I wasn’t really thinking about it when I was still interested. William was able to go underneath the mall and enter the original Fredbears location, one day he got stuck and stayed their for a long time. He ended up killing himself on purpose so he could possess the spring Bonnie suit and live forever.
Mimic cult
William ends up making a tape called the mimic (the mimic is not an actual animatronic in this AU) that have hypnotizing visuals that mind control the viewer. The first victim was Steve Raglan, a inspector that was lured into the mall security office and ended up seeing the tape and now works as a job counselor so he could indict more people into the mimic cult. The second member was Reagan who got ahold of a bunch of old Fazbear Ent. tech and got mimic’d, she ended up going under the name Vanny and gained the bunny suit. The third victim was Jeremy who (after the bite) lost all of his memories of Fazbear Ent. and worked for them to get answers, he got too close to the truth and ended up slicing his face off. The last member was Vanessa, she was able to be saved but still thought I’d mention her.
The “books”
The story of Musophobia was separated into three parts kinda reflecting the original novel trilogy. The “silver eyes” was like if the movies and Silver Eyes stories were fused together. The other two were kinda blurry, they didn’t get much thought of for them. Charlie kinda went through the same character arch as in the twisted ones but other than that nothing much happened with those two parts.
Original characters
The glamrocks and funtimes were basically fused together in my AU since if I had both groups separate it would be overly complicated. The main band were the Cybergoths which consisted of Tiger rock, Eleanor, Roxy, and Monty. They also had twisted forms though they didn’t do anything
I also fused baby and ballora with sun and moon and they named Kidcore baby and Kidcore Sweetheart (they were separate characters)
The puppet and ennard were fused together. Abby was able to manipulate the Cybergoths into destroying themselves and fusing eachother into one body which had a similar appearance to the puppet.
Thats mostly it, I’ll update the post if I remember anything new about this version. Just a warning, the next two posts will be a lot shorter and messier due to the fact that those other versions didn’t have a lot thought about their stories

yay writing and being excited about writing!!! can i ask about 🎢👀😬💔&🤡? -megs 💙
@igarbagecannoteven hi megs! welcome! hello! huzzah! thank you for asking!
🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride? mmmmmmmmmm good question! i feel like my stuff isn't necessarily wild? i feel like you can see everything coming for the most part, and it's not overly wacky. maybe pas de deux or if we make it through december just because there's a lot of stuff that happens in those given that they're long. there are ups and downs.
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please! well my main wip right now is a fake dating au for sangcheng, which is a ship between my two favorite characters from the tv show The Untamed. It's part of the sangcheng mini bang and i'm very far behind but it's got a lot of complicated family stuff going on (jiang cheng has very complex feelings about his brother, regardless of the fact that this is an au and therefore no one has died. instead of being dead huaisang's brother is in jail framed for murder. so there's a lot going on here without even touching on the parent trauma.) and i have set it in minnesota at a lake house (familiarity, baby!) and making these two characters fake date is very fascinating because one of them is a mastermind who is pretending to be an idiot and one of them is SO emotionally repressed it's not even funny
I haven't worked on any 5sos wips in months before today. but i'm almost done with one of the prompts that i asked for a few days ago! accomplishing that one by projecting all of my mary poppins frustrations onto michael
😬 Which of your fics would you be most horrified for friends, family, or coworkers to stumble upon? probably the riverdale fic. it's definitely the darkest fic i've written and it's an uncomfortable and complex topic and it's for riverdale of all things.
💔 Is there a fic of yours that broke your heart? unmute </3 not for narrative reasons just because i am so disenchanted with it and i feel like everyone judges me for not finishing it. but i did listen to part of my unmute playlist today and some day i'll finish the chapter that i'm on, and then the rest of it! we're taking it easy for now though but every day i can feel myself itching to write the next scene (it's a good scene!)
🤡 What’s a line, scene, or exchange you’ve written that made you laugh? in the prompt i'm writing i said that michael was doing his best impression of a rag doll, which amused me personally. it didn't make me laugh (i don't laugh at my own writing, just like i don't cry at it) but i like it
#ask#megs#igarbagecannoteven#i have 96 fics on my ao3 this was wild trying to sort through them to find specific ones#thank you for asking!!!!!!!!!!#feeling a lot of euphoria over writing right now! hoping to continue this trend tomorrow!

Okay Full Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning thoughts:
What I Didn't Like:
Kind of random and overly specific, but the scene early on in the movie with a bunch of government guys giving the infodump about what the AI thing is and everything the audience needed to know. Hate that scene. Hate how it was filmed and edited. NOT that it was an infodump-- I think that was just a necessary evil. I hate that You couldn't tell who anyone was, four people were trading off dialogue in an incredibly unnatural way, everything was closeups, I don't know where they were or what that meeting was (or why Ethan gassed it?). Also it had flashbacks interspersed in it to something that happened literally just one scene before. Hate this scene so much you have no idea.
The AI thing does not work for me. I think it's too all-knowing and that strained credulity. It was also very abstract and vague as a threat and that made it not very compelling. It also means you sacrifice having an ACTUAL villain.
Speaking of, I think Gabriel is an issue. I know they're going for a cold brutal killing machine kind of vibe but he just kind of ends up boring. If there was a more immediate villain to latch onto while teasing Gabriel's motivations it might work better. I also found the mystery surrounding Ethan's past connection to Gabriel more frustrating than intriguing. I think if they had just told us what that history was, it would have given me something to care about in regards to Ethan and I think that's sorely lacking.
I think Ethan is consistently the least interesting character in these movies and is easily the least interesting of the major super spy franchise characters.
The plot moved past complicated into convoluted territory and dragged on a little too long. And I don't know if they've justified to me why THIS mission Impossible movie should be two parts.
I talked about it elsewhere but this franchise really does have an issue with how it handles its female characters.
It doesn't totally work for me to try to sell Grace as BOTH the wide-eyed innocent, and an internationally renowned thief.
What I Did Like:
Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are all killing it. All three characters I enjoy. Vanessa Kirby- also quite fun.
The car chase with Grace and Ethan hand-cuffed together was probably my favorite action sequence. Most of the other action sequences are also a good time (except that climbing the train I think went on too long and became more stressful than enjoyable) and that's the main reason to watch these MI movies.
The whole thing looks good.
Grace's character is an interesting look at this world
Mixed Feelings and Random Observations:
I don't know what having Ethan "go rogue" for this mission did for the story. I think the story could have been simplified down and just have that and the two CIA (?) guys completely removed from the plot.
There are multiple things that I just don't understand. And I'm putting it here because I don't know if that's me or if it didn't make sense, but regardless I do think it's the result of the plot getting convoluted. -The bomb in the airport?? I think the idea was that Gabriel put it there to manipulate Ethan and his team to get them where he wanted them (the meeting with Vaness Kirby), but I don't quite know A. why it had that effect B. why he wanted that C. why the bomb was a weird puzzle box or D. How Benji solved the last clue -Is Kittridge evil? -Why was Cary Elwes' character even in this movie? What did he add? -Are those two guys following Ethan around (IMDB says their names are Briggs and Degas) CIA or IMF? -How did "the Entity" get out in the first place?
Pom Klementieff's character probably didn't need to be there but actually the movie would have benefitted from having MORE of her (cut Degas and Briggs, and give us more Paris) but also her inclusion was odd and it wasn't clear who she was or why she was there.
The scene where everyone's running around Venice trying to kill each other-- why did no one bring a gun? But Ilsa had a sword???
I thought for sure that when Grace told Ethan her name she was lying (because she's an international thief hired by a crime lord to tail him and steal from him and he's some kind of super spy. Why wouldn't she lie about her name? ) but then they never said anything about it, and didn't give another name and when she was trying to get immunity from Kittridge she said 'Grace' again so I guess she's just an international jewel thief who goes around handing out her real name?
Were Ilsa and Ethan together? Are Grace and Ethan romantically interested in each other? Does he still have a wife somewhere?
Also the thing is while I object to the movie's handling of Ilsa's death on a theoretical level (because it treats her as disposable and no one seems that upset, and it's like they think they can't have more than one woman on the team) I also think she's boring and didn't really care that she died.
Luther just left in the middle of things and I think that's hilarious.
Overall, I still enjoyed watching it but it's the kind of movie that sort of invites me to dig deeper into all the little things I don't like about it. So I'd give it a C, but a mid to low C.

apologies if you’ve been asked this question before a while back, i think i followed you in february when the initial hype for this stream was slowing down but
what did you think of hitting on 16 through a writer’s perspective? do you think that it was written well for someone who isn’t used to storytelling through a more “fic” medium? what did you like about it? was there anything you didn’t like (besides the atrocious formatting lmao)? i’m very curious to know your thoughts on this since you’re an experienced writer who’s been doing this for a while
oh this is a fun question i haven't thought a ton about ho16 in a while... but yeah back when it first dropped, I had a lot of thoughts on it from a writer's perspective! my main thought was how surprised I was at how genuinely well-written it was. like, I'm not saying this to discredit cc!wilbur as a writer or anything, but he said himself that he hadn't really done a lot of prose writing since he was 15 i think?? so I was preparing myself to read something that was definitely a great look at c!wilbur as a character, but possibly wasn't that polished in the prose department
however, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-written it was. there were definitely some instances where I felt he went a little overboard with the formality in his narratorial voice, especially with some of the language he used or the overly complicated way he'd phrase simple things (which is something amateur writers have a tendency to do if they're trying to sound more formal, but if often just comes off as clunky instead). I think if he had been solely doing a c!wilbur limited 3rd person POV that could've worked because that just makes sense for c!wilbur's personal narration to be like that, but he switched between multiple characters including c!quackity, and to me that just didn't read like the kind of 3rd person limited narration you'd get from c!quackity (or anyone besides c!wilbur for that matter). but I think that was more just an issue with that being how cc!wilbur is used to having c!wilbur speak, and he wasn't solely writing for his own character so he wasn't used to having to make a shift like that.
I think he had some absolutely beautiful lines written in there and fantastic uses of imagery. like the line, "Suddenly the world came to an end right in front of them. The words dropped like a guillotine which sliced the entire SMP into two perfect halves. What a coincidence that the apocalyptic guillotine seemed to strike perfectly in the centre of Wilbur’s skull. And what a coincidence that only Wilbur seemed to see or feel it happen." is a line i think about literally all the time. what a fantastic metaphor. it has so many layers of meaning to it, you could probably dissect it for ages and get so many different interpretations out of it.
also, I feel like this doesn't even need to be said, but he absolutely nails writing c!tommy's dialogue. like, obviously he would know how to write c!wilbur's dialogue, but he got every single word c!tommy would say dead on in my opinion. his dialogue for c!quackity, c!tubbo, and c!ranboo wasn't bad or anything either! but you could tell it was slightly different than what the characters would actually say (though c!quackity was probably the most well-characterized out of that trio which makes sense. I bet cc!quackity had the biggest hand in the way wilbur wrote his character in the story). do i think that cc!wilbur consulted cc!tommy for how to write his character? briefly, yeah for sure. but as far as the actual dialogue went? I wouldn't be surprised if cc!wilbur wrote that and cc!tommy didn't change a thing. I think cc!wilbur just understands c!tommy better than literally anyone else on the server that isn't cc!tommy himself, so that's why he was able to nail his voice so well
overall, if I had to summarize my thoughts, I'd say his writing was extremely good for someone who hadn't written prose in that long. there were definitely issues with tone and narratorial voice, and some things were phrased a bit awkwardly, but it all makes sense with the lack of experience. it's all really minor stuff for the most part, and I really loved ho16. as we all know, c!wilbur is my boy, so getting such an in depth look at his character and getting to hear his thoughts in a way we would never have gotten to see in a typical lore stream? it was like a goddamn buffet for me.
#ty for letting me ramble about this i love getting to talk about my writer thoughts#lostmellohi#ask#long post#ho16#hitting on 16#c!wilbur
