#you know you're in trouble when the painting of saturn devouring his son by francisco de goya almost makes it on here 🤡#like minds#murderous intent#like minds 2006#alex forbes#sad to admit i have been neglecting my (other) boy in my content lately#most of the time alex only really features in posts that are about him and nigel together#and if every there was a subject i'd be making a post about for alex it would ofc be about him and his daddy issues#i think it's because strangely enough nigel is easier to get a handle on in terms of character introspection#but that's probably down to the fact that regardless of whether you believe the narrative alex gives about who nigel was#we at least DO get a more solidly constructed idea of his character (yes even if it is the version of him put forth by alex#designed to paint himself as the victim)#alex on the other hand? gohd damn walking rorschach pattern ink blot test of a character#like *holding him up by the scruff of his neck* what does this character look like#you could have interpretations for this guy out the wazoo and it'll probably be wildly different from the person standing next to you#but one think i can say with certainty is this guy has a complicated relationship with his father#i don't think he hates him. but i do think there's a lot of resentment there too#that quote from ladybird where she asks her mother if she likes her and the mother says of course she loves her#and ladybird asks but do you like me? and the mother just responds that she wants whats best for her#to which ladybird says what if this is the best version of me#or something#that's them#to me at least#i suppose that's why alex was as drawn to nigel as he was#yes nigel was also spouting on about predetermined destinies foretold by fate and whatnot#but the fundamental difference is that nigel leaves all the power to achieve that in alex's hands#the only thing he ever really asks of him is for alex to embrace his inner most desires. no matter how dark or twisted they may be#alex's father is there telling him that a better version of himself exists if only alex could live up to expectations#nigel is there telling him that a better version of himself exists if only alex could forgo expectations of himself entirely#if that makes sense 🤡

#fave#videos#thank yoooooooou#you get it#characters arent people and people arent characters#people irl deserve redemption. characters dont need to have redemption and sometimes its hurtful to the story if they do#i COULD make a redemption arc for zero-- but it would be stupidly complicated within my characters relationships given whats hes done in#the past. plenty of my ocs still would never want to be in the same room with him. it just adds unnecessary coffee au drama thats just not#the focus of my story at all. and hes not even a real person. hes an idea- an amalgamation of bad experiences I and others have had#manifested into one being that seeks to inflict these pains#likely his redemption arc would come from no longer being a vampire. but idk where he would go. and i really dont care to write it tbh#i have other minor antagonists I think would be better suited for a redemption arc than him. hes just done too much shit.#just in the same way a lot of azula stans would say ozai is irredeemable thats how I feel about zero.#and its how I feel about azula too tbh. yeah her story is sad and its possible to sympathize with but shes like a machine at this point#her humanity has been stripped away by her abusive father- and I dont think it would serve the narrative to have her suddenly appear#in a therapists office and crying about her trauma or whatever.#in this video he mentions how some ppl think its more 'realistic' to have her redeemed but... i really dont think it is bud#clearly you have not dealt with an azula in your real life. they're impossible to get along with and MOST people stop interacting w them.#they do end up isolated and alone bc of their actiosn. even if those actions are informed by a complex abuse system.#its sad but its also an important story to tell so people can at least maybe see themselves going down that route and stop themselves#characters help give examples to people of what would've happened if they made this or that choice. and thats the purpose azulas narrative#shows. irl people deserve a second chance and thats why we make these stories so they can know to try to avoid acting a certain way that#will only in the end harm their chance at a second chance.#not that its impossible- just that less people will be willing to go along w you on it than there would've been before you fell down hard

Bingqiu AU where SY and LBH grow up as childhood friends (idk maybe they're both at QJP but Shen Jiu is less of an asshole, or maybe SY transmigrates into Random Village Bully Child No.3 when Binghe's mom is still alive -- or both) and there's none of the tension of the idea of "one day Luo Binghe is going to rip my limbs off" for Shen Yuan.
So he and LBH can just be bros! Fantastic! Shen Yuan has never had a little brother before but he's had a little sister, he knows how to do this. Just spoil the cute kid rotten!
It's only fair compensation for how many terrible things LBH is gonna have to endure on the road to ruling the world, after all. SY also feels more freedom to change minor aspects of the plot around, too, like maybe he'll stop Liu Qingge from dying, definitely he can help LBH get a better start to his cultivation journey, and maybe the abyss and xin mo thing doesn't really need to happen...?
The list of things SY considers meddling with ends up including wives.
Like really, come on now, Luo Binghe may be a stallion protagonist but there's no need for that many women. Especially when at least half of them are just increasingly cheap copies of the other half, and that's being generous about it. Some of PIDW Binghe's wives were, frankly, horrible people. And if he's being honest about it, it wasn't fair of Binghe himself to take on that many either. Even if anyone would naturally give their left arm to be the protagonist's wife, after a certain point Binghe just can't spend that much time actually with them! And then he can't form the kinds of deep and meaningful bonds which might actually help heal his trauma!
SY's not looking to interfere too much, of course. Ning Yingying is not his favorite wife, but she's fine. She causes trouble but it isn't on purpose, and she's genuinely sweet and willing to befriend Binghe before he's anything special (although even now, it's obvious Binghe is special). Ning Yingying can stay.
And of course, so can Best Wife Liu Mingyan.
But Sha Hualing? Well, she offers some political advantages, and as the demon wives go she's not the worst. She's kind of iconic and was very popular, but Shen Yuan thinks the harem could do without her scheming and malicious attitude towards the other wives. The cost of harmony was too high for the political bonuses offered, especially when Binghe might as well just take her ancestral lands by force and be done with it. He's going to advise against that match.
And the Qin sisters. Sure there's the legendary threesome, but Wanrong's dead weight and it never struck SY quite right how Qin Wanyue pressured Luo Binghe into sex. The threesome wasn't even good anyway.
Better Qin Wanyue than the Little Palace Mistress on that front, though. But aish, that's complicated, the Palace Mistress is even more politically vital to securing HHP than Sha Hualing is for her father's kingdom, and almost as bad for the peace and harmony of the harem. Ultimately SY will leave it up to Binghe, but if Binghe asks, he's going to advise against the Huan Hua wives too.
With thoughts like this in mind, SY starts talking to Binghe about how to establish a household, what to look for in a spouse (or twenty), and other topics of that nature. What sort of household Luo Binghe ought to strive to have, and what sorts of standards he should himself to. Also while of course assuring him that Shen Yuan isn't interested in women. Lest he worry that Shen Yuan might be trying to steal any of the wives from him, at any point. He's not competition!
SY: I am helping to pave the way for Binghe to have better marital relationships! I am the best big brother slash best buddy ever! don't worry, no matter what happens to Binghe, this gege will be your no.1 cheerleader forever!
LBH: is he saying I should get a palace if I want to marry him? well... that sounds reasonable. ok, I will do it! (•̀ ω •́)✧

A Joyful Occasion. // Aemond Targaryen x Aegon ii Targaryen x Niece!Reader.

A/N: this was something I wrote for pure self indulgence since I turned 19 today! thanks to everyone who wished me! I'm so thankful for it, here is the treat I made for myself that I'm willing to share 🤭
WC: 2.2k
It was your nameday today, a joyful occasion, your grandfather decided to throw a grand ball to celebrate it, for it was your 18th nameday, a special occasion for any young woman.
You were the centre of attention, and you did not mind it, liking it in fact, the way the Lords and Ladies alike would come and wish a good evening and an amazing day, occasionally kissing your hand as a greeting, you were having the time of your life.
Two people in particular, were not.
Aegon and Aemond.
Your relationship with Aegon and Aemond is quite a complicated one, you love both the men, they loved you and each other as well, though to others you three looked like people who never got along, if only they knew what happens behind the closed chambers, though you had only shared a few kisses, never really getting to the intimate bit yet, but you knew they both engaged in it with one another.
They were happy for you, celebrating this special occasion, at first at least, but then their mood turned sour, when they spotted multiple people eyeing you with nothing but lust, men and women alike, you however, were none the wiser.
You came down to sit in between them, tired from standing, and you felt Aegon's hand on your thigh, giving it a squeeze and you shot him a look, to which he smirked at. Aemond opened his mouth to talk, and talk he did.
This surprised everyone, you and Aemond having a civil conversation without any snarky remarks thrown at each other? That was until Aegon butted in, throwing in a crude comment which made you annoyed.
“All these meals yet my appetite seems to crave something else.” Aegon perversely comments, you shoot him a glare and Alicent says his name as a warning, but he knew you weren't angry, because the way you rubbed your thighs together told him so.
Jace, your brother, misreading the situation came up and offered you a hand, you looked at him confused but then realised he was asking you to dance and you accepted it with a smile and left to dance on the floor with him.
Aegon's gaze followed your figure, turning around in his seat to watch you dance with jace, his hands on your waist, so did Aemond's gaze.
They both observed how you laughed and how Jace's touch was lingering longer than usual, and that's when they noticed the faint blush on his cheeks, Aegon turned his attention to Aemond and Aemond looked at him as well.
They were communicating in silence and Aemond gave him a nod, and Aegon fully turned away from his attention on you and focused on the table.
That was until he got up from his chair, announcing that he was retiring to his chambers, Aemond did the same after, and you felt your beat quicken and you felt a twinge in your heart, they promised you that they would stay until the end but now they are the first ones to retire.
You lingered around for a bit, unable to keep calm.
And then you couldn't take it anymore, loudly announcing that you were tired and that you wanted to rest, and your mother and father gave you a smile before allowing you to be dismissed.
Your feet led you to your chambers, and then the secret route which connected to Aegon's room, you pushed the stone wall aside and open the door, finding Aemond inside there room as well, pouring a drink in the goblet while Aegon laid on the bed playing with whatever was in his hands.
“You guys promised.” your voice cracked and they turned their attention to you, Aegon smirked before gesturing you to come over to him, and you did, he sat up resting his neck on your shoulder, his hand holding yours.
“I did not like the way he touched you.” Aegon began and you looked at him confused, before then it finally clicked and before you could say anything, Aegon pushed you on the bed getting on top of you.
“Aegon?” you asked and he hummed, trailing kisses on your neck, his hands gripped your sides, holding your waist and he grinds himself against you. “You liked the way he touched you didn't you?” his voice suddenly became angry and you shook your head, and you watched as his lip twitched.
He got off you and you whined when the warmth he provided was gone, he went to Aemond, who was sitting on the chaise drinking, before he sat next to him, kissing him instead, making you watch.
“You do not deserve our love, niece.” Aemond said disapprovingly, you shook your head, immediately getting up and going over to him, standing in front of him. “It seems your brother is enough for you, why do you need us anyway? Do you even love us? I bet you don't” he accuses you and your lips tremble, “I do! I do! Please uncle do not accuse me of such a thing, my heart breaks.” you reply weakly.
“But earlier, you seemed to be having fun with other lords, ladies and your brother.” Aemond raises an eyebrow, and you fall to your knees in front of him, apologising and he grips your face, thumb trailing the underside of your lip.
You watch as Aegon's hand undoes Aemonds breeches, pulling out his half hard cock and giving it pumps, up and down as he kisses, your mouth salivates, you had always watched them be intimate, they never let you join, telling you that you would only be able to after your 18th nameday passes by, yet now, they are still not letting you join.
“Do you know, my niece? We planned something for you, which we thought of giving after the celebration ends, however your naughty behaviour from earlier made us rethink our decision.” Aegon coos as you sniff, rubbing your thighs together, getting aroused at the tone of their voices, and also the fact that you felt so vulnerable.
You always put an act of being tough in front of others, glaring at others and proving your point, you were the daughter of rhaenyra after all, you saw vulnerability as a weakness but then these both men happened, and since then you loved feeling vulnerable, only infront of them of course, people would call it fucked but you wanted to be submissive when it came to them, let them push you around and mock you in private, it scratched an itch.
With teary eyes your hands tried to grab Aemonds cock but Aegon slapped your hand away, tutting, “Ah, ah, ah, no touching.” and you sniff loudly, “Please- please uncle- let me join you both at last, you both have teased me too much.” you beg them and Aegon chuckles meanly. “What do you say Aemy? Should we forgive her? She looks so cute.” Aegon asks Aemond, and he seems to be in a thought for a while, he almost seems to reject the idea, but you had a plan.
And so you undid your dress, letting the sleeves fall down, exposing your breasts to them and Aemonds breath hitches in his throat. He swallows thickly, eyes roaming over your breasts before giving a quick nod.
Although Aegon was said to have an insatiable hunger, he wouldn't have melted or changed his mind because once he decides to be cruel, he is cruel. Aemond on the other hand, gets desperate, especially for his sweet niece who he had a crush on since youth, the idea of finally getting to touch you after all the waiting makes him change his mind quickly.
Aegon tuts as he notices how his brother immediately changed his mind, but he quickly accepts it and pulls you off your knees, causing the gown to fall down and pool around your knees, leaving you bare.
You shivered in the chill air of the night, goosebumps arising on your flesh as Aegon admired the view, licking his lips before he pulled you onto his lap.
Your knees were on the either side of his legs, hands on his shoulders to keep yourself balanced and steady, and he looks at you before kissing your neck, Aemond pulls your face towards his, grabbing you by the back of your neck as he moves his lips against yours, this position was awkward but arousing at the same time, your start grinding against Aegon mindlessly, gasping when he takes your nipples in his mouth, suckling and nibbling on it.
You moan into Aemonds mouth and he pulls away, the string of saliva still connecting you both.
“Take her to the bed.” Aemond commands breathily, and Aegon immediately obeys him, carrying you towards the bed, your legs wrapping around him as he stood.
He places you gently onto the bed before trailing kisses down your body, from your neck to your breasts, to your stomach, to your thighs before stopping at the most precious thing.
Your cunt.
“Fuck, look at her.” he groaned as he held your legs apart, eyes greedily devouring the way your folds glistened in the candle lights. You heard shuffling beside you and spotted Aemond, fully bare just like you, his cock out on full display, hard and almost twitching, appearing as though it had a mind of its own.
You swallowed at the sight.
“Open your mouth”
And you did, Aemond slapped the tip of his cock against your bottom lip a few times before pushing it inside, and you closed your eyes, not knowing what to do.
“Breathe darling, relax.” You heard Aegon coo and you nodded, “It's her first time, Aemy, be gentle.” Aegon adviced and Aemond simply nodded.
It was hard for Aemond to be gentle when your mouth was so warm and wet, wrapped around his touch, the way he felt your tongue move, not knowing what to do with it, where to rest it was driving him into madness.
He grabbed you by your hair, slowly thrusting in and out, you maintained the position, making sure your teeth are not biting onto him and your tongue still as he uses your mouth, your focus was entirely on Aemond that you didn't see Aegon move, only when the sudden feeling of warmth on your core reached your brain did you realise what had happened, Aegon devoured your cunt with such intensity, kissing your pearl with fervour, you gripped his hair as he licked your folds, relishing in the taste of you.
Your moans were muffled by Aemond, and he snapped because of the way your moans were causing vibrations against him, making his pleasure grow high, he grabbed your hair and fucked your face brutal and fast as Aegon continued his ministrations on your cunt.
And before you know it, you reach your peak so intensely, hips pushing into Aegon's face, practically riding it, while Aemond shot his seed down your throat and pulled out.
You panted heavily on the bed, chest heaving up and down. You saw Aegon and Aemond switch positions, Aegon coming to your side to kiss your face and Aemond lifted your hips up, making you wrap your legs around his hips as he lined up his dick against your entrance.
“I'm letting you take her virginity Aemy, you owe me head later.” Aegon winks and Aemond simply hums before prodding at your entrance. Aemond pushed in gently and you gasped at the burning stretch, Aegon hushed you, cooing at you and kissing your face as a comfort.
The painful burning sensation continued to exist as Aemond pushed more and more of his length inside you, before he was sitting inside snugly.
Luckily, Aemond gave you time to adjust and moved only a little, going slow to not hurt you, letting your pain subside and turn into pleasure before he quickened his pace.
You threw your head back as he repeatedly snapped his hips against yours, his pelvis rubbing against your pearl, Aegon latched himself on his tiddies and sucked on them, hands going down to grip his own cock and he pumped himself up and down, moaning against your tits.
Your body was overwhelmed with pleasure, extremely sensitive all throughout and then you peaked once again, crying out Aemond's name as he continued fucking you, chasing his own peak before he spilled himself deep inside of you.
“You finished inside her?” Aegon asks and Aemond nods, “Want to knock her up.” Aemond voices his thoughts and Aegon smirks, pushing Aemond away and settling between your legs, “It's my turn now.” he says cruelly and Aemond nods, taking a small break as he watched Aegon push his cock inside you, causing you whine and grip the bed sheets beneath you, Aegon gripped your hips tightly, thrusting into you at an animalistic pace causing you throw your head back and whine, Aemond was beginning to get hard again, the blood rushing to his cock.
Aegon finishes inside you with a loud moan of your name, while you finish at the same time as well, he leans down to kiss you.
“Let's see who's seed takes first.” Aegon taunts and Aemond rolls his eyes, “Mine will.” and that convo turns into bickering while you lay there, feeling the way both their combined spend leak out of you, pooling on the bed sheets beneath while you try to catch your breath.
It was the best fucking night of your life.

“Charm, I have a question.”
You applied your lipstick, completely focused on your reflection in the mirror. “Hm?”
“Why do we keep having dinners with people we hate?”
You scoffed a laugh, then put the cap back on the lipstick before turning to Bucky.
“I wouldn’t say I hate my aunt,” you said. “I hate her son, not her. She’s just…”
“What?”
“Annoying.”
“I’ll rephrase my question, why do we keep having dinners with annoying people?”
You leaned back to the vanity. “Because we have complicated families, Bucky. I know it’s news for you.”
His phone vibrated and he read the text before typing in his reply.
“I have this thing—”
“Don’t even fucking try it!” you cut him off. “We’re married dickhead, you’re going to suffer with me. It’s on the prenup.”
“Tomorrow,” Bucky finished his sentence as if you didn’t interrupt him. “I have this thing tomorrow so I’ll have no time for lunch after the therapist—did you seriously put I’d suffer with you on the prenup?”
“Figuratively.”
He shot you a grin. “We’re the best married couple I know.”
You tried to hide your smile by pursing your lips together and turned around, then leaned in to check yourself in the mirror again, pretending to fix your lipstick. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Bucky eyeing you up and down, his intense gaze sending a shiver down your spine and you arched a brow.
“Whatever you’re thinking, you’d better not say it,” you warned him and he chuckled.
“Am I that obvious?”
“Just a little.”
“It’s just that…”
“Bucky.”
“You look beautiful.”
“Something tells me beautiful wasn’t the word in your mind.”
“Sweetheart,” he said. “You’re basically bent over in front of a mirror in that dress, there are so many things in my mind.”
You straightened your back to shoot him a look and he held up his hands, gesturing surrender.
“You asked.”
“Can you perhaps be less horny when we’re about to have dinner with my family?”
“I’ll try.”
“Much appreciated,” you deadpanned as you walked past him, with him following you behind out of the apartment. You pressed the button on the elevator, then took a deep breath.
“We’re not shooting or threatening anyone tonight,” you said and Bucky tilted his head.
“Are you telling me or yourself that?”
You clicked your tongue. “Both.”
                                            *
You had never really liked spending time with your aunt even before your father started pitting you and Ian against each other for the heir position. At least she was never really around when you were growing up, even after Ian moved in with you, but she liked dropping by in the town from time to time.
And commenting on literally anything about you, from your relationships to how you looked.
Your aunt wasn’t even the only reason why this dinner was probably going to be tense as hell. Bucky was still furious at your father for the shit he pulled back at that dinner with the other families, so now you had to make sure no one started any fights while adamantly ignoring whatever your aunt would say to you.
Lovely.
“You must tell me all about the wedding!” your aunt said. “Starting with before it, actually. How did this—” she motioned between you and Bucky. “happen?”
Bucky gave her a charming smile.
“Well I suppose I managed to convince her,” he said. “Or after a while she got bored of rejecting me?”
“Reject you?” your aunt asked with a laugh. “Oh I can’t be the only one who remembers how she used to follow you around like a puppy, Y/N you were so adorable with that little schoolgirl crush!”
You stared at her for a moment, then heaved a sigh.
“Yeah, then I grew up and grew out of it.”
“Obviously not, sweetheart,” your father said, making Ian bite down a smirk and you gritted your teeth, the memory of Bucky turning you down that night flashing before your eyes.
What was it, he had called you?
Daddy’s spoiled whiny princess.
“I’m glad you didn’t,” Bucky said with a boyish grin and you reached out to grab your glass to take a sip of your wine.
Despite everything, despite you and Bucky getting along well nowadays, you still couldn’t shake off the resentment of that night. The anger, how pathetic he made you feel, it was still there even after years, but you frowned slightly, trying to focus.
“I suppose I should have seen this coming, there was this one time,” your aunt said with a laugh. “Back when you were in high school, I found your diary, do you remember?”
Your heart skipped a beat. “I remember you reading it, yeah.”
“I just wanted to make sure you were safe!” your aunt said. “What with you sneaking out of the house at night, I was almost positive you had a bad influence boyfriend. That’s what your mother would have wanted, God rest her soul, for someone to keep an eye on you.”
Your father heaved a sigh, taking a sip of his wine at the mention of your mother and you raised your brows.
“Anyways, I didn’t have anything to worry about—”
“Auntie,” you said warningly and she waved a hand in the air.
“Oh it was years ago Y/N, get over it—pages and pages about you,” she told him as the pins and needles of embarrassment sunk into your cheeks while a cocky smile curled Bucky’s lips.
“Seriously?”
“I swear,” your aunt said and Ian hummed.
“I remember that fight.”
“Yeah that’s what happens when someone invades someone’s privacy,” you said, forcing yourself not to look at Bucky who looked very pleased with himself for some reason. Your aunt let out a small laugh.
“We’re family,” she said. “These things happen.”
“Did you read Ian’s diary as well?”
“I didn’t keep a diary.”
“And it was years ago,” your father said. “Let’s not have the same fight again, hm? Because the last I remember, you threw multiple vases at the wall during that fight sweetheart.”
You bit at your tongue and cleared your throat.
“How was Monaco?” you tried to change the subject and your aunt shrugged her shoulders.
“That’s a long story,” she said. “But there’s no place like home, that’s all I’ll tell you.”
“Another break up?” you asked her and she narrowed her eyes, but unsurprisingly, the men around the table missed the curt glare you two threw at each other.
“Can’t I be back because I miss you all?” your aunt asked after a beat. “I would’ve been here for the wedding as well if you two hadn’t rushed it.”
“It was a beautiful ceremony,” your father said and she nodded.
“Honestly, with how rushed it was I told your father perhaps it was because there was something to rush about. There isn’t though, is there? I mean you’re drinking.”
You forced yourself to smile, then shook your head. “No.”
Bucky frowned, looking between you two before a look of realization dawned on his face.
“Ah no,” he said. “That’s not why. To be fair, rushing was kind of my fault. I’ve been in love with her forever, so I didn’t want to wait any longer. Thankfully she agreed.”
“And when can we expect that?” your aunt asked with a smile and Bucky choked on his wine before clearing his throat.
“Hm?”
“Not for a very long time,” you said and your father nodded with an uncomfortable expression on his face.
“I’m too young to be a grandfather, Nora.”
“Oh nonsense,” she told him. “You know what this business is like, and they’re in love! Obviously they want babies if they rushed the wedding. Have you two talked about how many yet?”
“I’m sorry, how many?” you repeated and she nodded.
“It’s good to be clear about the future, no? And Y/N once said she wanted two so Bucky, how many?”
Bucky blinked a couple of times and cleared his throat again.
“Uh…babies?”
“No, guns,” your aunt said with a laugh. “Of course babies!”
Bucky shot you a look as if begging you for help and you sat up straighter.
“That’s not in our plans right now.”
“But in the future?” your aunt insisted. “I mean surely you must have a number in mind.”
Bucky swallowed thickly, stealing a look at you. “Like um, like four maybe?”
You gawked at him. “I’m sorry, did you just say four?”
Bucky nodded his head.
“Yeah because you know, big family would be nice.”
“You—you do realize that for someone to have four kids, they’d have to spend three years as pregnant in total?” you asked him. “It’s basic math.”
“You want two, he wants four, three seems to be the perfect number,” your aunt joked and your father ran a hand over his face.
“They’ve just gotten married,” he reminded her. “It’s too early to talk about all that. More wine?”
You knew you and Bucky’s marriage was a sham and that you’d get a divorce as soon as you took over, but what you didn’t know was why exactly imagining Bucky having babies with someone else in his second marriage bothered you this much. The mere image was enough to churn your stomach, anger shooting through your system for some reason and you pursed your lips together, then held out your wine glass as well.
“Yes please.”
                                             *
Alright, this was getting ridiculous.
Even you knew that you were throwing a fit out of nowhere, but that did nothing to calm you down. Ever since last night, your head was full of the image of Bucky having the picture-perfect family after your divorce, so you had been in a particularly cranky mood since then. You had barely said two words to him when you came home, going straight to bed and when you woke up, you were still sulking.
Bucky had asked you what was going on multiple times, you had no idea how to explain the fact that you didn’t want him to have perfect babies and be perfectly happy with a perfect woman in a perfect marriage without sounding selfish.
Which, in all honesty was incredibly selfish.
So when the psychiatrist sat down in front of you two, it took her a couple of seconds of complete silence to motion between you two.
“I’m sensing a bit of tension?”
“You and me both,” Bucky said. “I have zero idea why. Charm?”
You narrowed your eyes, then crossed your arms.
“He has a housewife kink.”
“Whoa!” Bucky exclaimed, his eyes going wide. “What?!”
“I’m guessing you haven’t talked about kinks before then?”
“Well, it was news to me.”
“It’s also news to me!” Bucky told you. “Charm, what the fuck?”
“Sex is a huge part of—”
“Sex is fine,” Bucky told Dr. Raynor before turning to you. “What’s going on?”
“If you want someone who’s gonna—who’s gonna—” you couldn’t help but stammer. “Like, stay in a cottage and bake pies, it's fine if she wants to, everyone has their own goals but I'm not that person and—”
“What are you even talking about?!”
“Alright, let’s take a breather,” Dr. Raynor said. “How would you describe your sex life, Bucky?”
“I would not.”
“Y/N.”
“It has nothing to do with sex, it has everything to do with the fact that he wants four babies.”
“What does it even matter?” Bucky asked you and you let out a scoff.
“It just does,” you told him. “First you pushed me out of the picture with Anna, and now I find out—”
“Jesus Christ, we talked about this!”
“Who’s Anna?”
“I’m glad you asked,” you told Dr. Raynor with a forced smile. “His new employee that he decided to hire even if I was told I would be involved in every single business decision and if you ask Bucky, it’s totally coincidental. Even if she’s hot as fuck.”
“Are you on your period or something?” Bucky asked you and your jaw dropped, fury shooting through you.
“Excuse you?”
He rolled his eyes. “That’s the only explanation I can think of for this nonsense.”
“Don’t ever ask me if I’m on my period again or I—”
“Let’s calm down,” Dr. Raynor said. “May I ask what brought this on?”
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Bucky deadpanned, glaring at you and you took a deep breath.
“We had a deal before we got married,” you told her. “About me being involved in the business decisions.”
“It’s not even a big business decision for God’s sake,” Bucky said. “I told you before, it’s a trial period with Anna, that’s all.”
“And this…housewife kink?” Dr. Raynor said and Bucky rolled his eyes again.
“I’m not even going to dignify that with an answer,” he said. “What does it matter, Charm? Hm? Considering the deal?”
You gritted your teeth and stole a look at Dr. Raynor before scoffing.
“I just don’t want to be pushed out of the picture when you find the person whom you want to have four babies with, alright?”
“Do you think you’ll get a divorce?” Dr. Raynor asked and you shifted your weight.
“Well, that’s always a possibility.”
Dr. Raynor frowned and Bucky gritted his teeth, an annoyed grin curling his lips before he clicked his tongue.
“No one is pushing you out of the picture, Charm.”
“I think we should talk about this insecurity though,” Dr. Raynor said and you let out a small laugh.
“I’m not insecure,” you said, your voice going a pitch higher. “I’m just saying like…I don’t want four babies.”
“And is this a deal breaker for you, Bucky?”
“I honestly don’t give a fuck,” Bucky said. “I was just speaking hypothetically, and before you ask again, she was the one who came up with that whole housewife kink thing—you have an actual kink for medieval knights, I’m not saying anything about that.”
“I don’t have a kink for medieval knights!”
“Do you mind if I give you both homework?” Dr. Raynor cut off your bickering. “How many times a week do you have sex?”
You and Bucky stared at each other before turning to her.
“Uh—” Bucky cleared his throat. “Charm?”
“Couple times?” you said like a question and Dr. Raynor hummed.
“I want you both to keep an intimacy journal.”
Bucky gawked at her. “Sorry, what?”
“An intimacy journal,” she said. “I want you both to write down how sex affects your communication and dynamic, how it feels before, during and after, and before the week is over, you will try one fantasy you’re both comfortable with, and write about how it made you feel.”
Bucky threw his head back, pinching the bridge of his nose and you nodded slowly, shifting your weight on the couch.
“Sex journal,” you muttered. “Wonderful.”

Hi Seluney! I love your fics, they are tiny highlights in my day so thank you for sharing!
Here is some fluff (if you are interested by that prompt of course!) to think about!
A lot of the party members have very complicated or tragic ties to their family, to say the least! Karlach's parents are beloved but dead, Githyanki don't have the notion of family and Lae'zel mentions not knowing what happened to the others who hatched with her, Astarion and his "siblings"?? Then you have living (or not depending on how your playthrough goes YIKES) parents with Wyll and Shadowheart and it's very painful in another way! (And then you have Gale, who is the only one having an awesome relationship with his mom, you go Gale!)
So what about the companions of your choice being "adopted" by their inlaws (be it a huge extended family or something small) who are very normal loving people and just love Tav's partner. Enjoy some domesticity, family gatherings, homecooked meals and bad dad-jokes, you fools!
After all the game put everyone through, the party members deserve nice things! (AND SO DO YOU SELUNEY!)
Ahhhh so wholesome !!! I love it !! Thank you so much for your support and you deserve nice things too - which I hope to have done with your ask xox

Karlach:
The sun was dipping low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the sprawling farmland as you and Karlach approached your family’s homestead. The landscape was dotted with fields of crops, and the sound of livestock filled the air. The farm had always been a haven of activity and life, with your parents at its heart, embodying the spirit of hard work and resilience.
As you walked up the well-trodden path toward the house, you could sense Karlach’s excitement mingled with a hint of apprehension. She had heard countless stories about your family and their boisterous, hands-on lifestyle. Now, she was about to experience it all firsthand.
You gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “Just remember, they’re a bit rough around the edges, but they mean well. They’ll love you if you show them your genuine self.”
Karlach grinned, her eyes gleaming with determination. “Don’t worry, love. I’m ready for whatever they throw at me.”
When you reached the front porch, you could already hear the sounds of your parents bustling around. They were in the middle of preparing dinner, the hearty aroma of something delicious wafting through the air. You gave Karlach a quick squeeze before opening the door and stepping inside.
“Ma! Pa! I’m home!” you called out, your voice carrying through the house.
The commotion in the kitchen paused for a moment before your parents emerged from the back, their faces lighting up with warm, if somewhat skeptical, smiles.
Your mother, a robust woman with a no-nonsense demeanor, and your father, a burly man with a heart of gold, both took in the sight of Karlach with keen eyes. Your mother’s gaze softened immediately, while your father’s expression turned into one of open curiosity.
“Ah, you must be Karlach!” your mother said, her voice rich with warmth. “We’ve heard so much about you.”
Karlach stepped forward confidently, extending her hand. “It’s lovely to meet you both. I’ve heard a lot about this place—can’t wait to see it all.”
Your father’s eyes twinkled as he took Karlach’s hand with a hearty handshake. “Well, you’ve come to the right place. This farm’s got more life in it than any city could ever hold.”
Your mother, not to be outdone, pulled Karlach into a surprisingly fierce hug. “Come on in, dear. You’re just in time to help prep for supper. We’ve got a lot to catch up on.”
Karlach beamed and followed your parents into the kitchen, where she was immediately put to work. The kitchen was a whirlwind of activity—dough being kneaded, vegetables being chopped, and pots clanging. Karlach’s enthusiasm was evident as she rolled up her sleeves and dove right into the chaos, her laughter ringing out as she helped with the preparations.
At first, your parents watched in astonishment as Karlach fit right in with their rough-and-ready approach. She didn’t hesitate to get her hands dirty, joining in with the farm chores, mucking out stables, and even helping with the repairs around the barn. Her fearlessness and exuberance won them over in no time.
Your mother, watching Karlach handle the chores with a grin, leaned over to you and whispered, “You know, she’s got a good head on her shoulders. I like her. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty.”
Your father, catching a glimpse of Karlach covered in a bit of mud after helping with the pigs, clapped a hand on your shoulder. “She’s got spirit, that one. You should take a page out of her book. None of that fancy city stuff for you. More like Karlach—down-to-earth and tough.”
You chuckled, appreciating their approval and the way they had taken Karlach into their fold so quickly. “I’ll keep that in mind, Pa.”
As the evening progressed, the meal was served, and the conversation flowed easily. Karlach charmed everyone with her stories of adventure and her easy-going nature. Your parents, who had initially been skeptical about anyone who wasn’t tied to the farm’s way of life, had fully embraced Karlach as one of their own.
When the night drew to a close and the stars began to sparkle above, your parents gathered around Karlach, offering her their best wishes and a promise that she was always welcome on the farm.
Your mother placed a hand on Karlach’s shoulder with a smile. “You’ve made quite the impression, dear. You’re part of the family now. Don’t be a stranger.”
Karlach’s eyes shone with genuine emotion as she looked at you, then back at your parents. “Thank you. I feel right at home here.”
As you walked hand-in-hand with Karlach through the now-quiet farm, you felt a profound sense of contentment. Your family had welcomed her with open arms, and their acceptance and love were palpable.
Karlach leaned in closer, her voice soft and full of affection. “Your family is amazing. I never expected to fit in so well.”
You smiled, squeezing her hand gently. “I knew they’d love you. You’re perfect just the way you are.”
And with that, you both enjoyed a serene evening under the stars, knowing that Karlach had truly found a place where she belonged, alongside you and the family who had embraced her with open hearts.
Minthara:
The bustling streets of Baldur’s Gate were alive with activity as you and Minthara navigated through the city, heading toward your home. The contrast between the vibrant, chaotic city and the serene atmosphere of your family’s house was always a bit jarring, but today was especially significant. Minthara had been both eager and apprehensive about meeting your two fathers, and you could sense her anxiety.
As you approached the well-kept house, you could see the warm glow of lanterns spilling out into the street. The scent of freshly baked bread wafted through the open windows, mingling with the distant sounds of city life. Your heart swelled with anticipation; this was an important moment, and you hoped it would go smoothly.
You glanced at Minthara, offering her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. They’ll love you. Just be yourself.”
Minthara, dressed in her usual dark, elegant attire, adjusted her posture nervously. “I know this is a significant moment, but I can’t help feeling uneasy.”
In her defence your fathers were the absolute epitome of what she was raised to think lesser of, two male seldarine drow. But that was her old life, her old beliefs. You had changed her.
You squeezed her hand gently. “My dads are different. They understand what it means to be exiled, and they’ve always been kind-hearted. They won’t judge you.”
With a deep breath, Minthara nodded, and you led her up the path to the front door. You knocked, and the door swung open to reveal your two fathers, both drow with an air of quiet dignity and warmth.
“Welcome home!” your fathers greeted, their smiles broad and genuine. They took in Minthara’s presence with a mix of curiosity and kindness.
Your father, the more talkative of the two, extended his hand with a welcoming gesture. “Ah, you must be Minthara. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. We’ve heard so much about you.”
Minthara hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand, her nerves palpable. “Thank you for having me. I’m… I’m not sure what to expect.”
Your other father, a bit more reserved but equally warm, placed a reassuring hand on Minthara’s shoulder. “We’ve heard about your exile, you poor thing. Please, make yourself comfortable. You’re safe here.”
Minthara’s eyes widened in surprise as she looked between the two of them. She had been expecting hostility or at least a cold reception, but the sincerity in their words and their welcoming gestures took her aback.
As you all moved into the living area, your fathers quickly made Minthara feel at home, offering her a seat by the fire and making small talk. They inquired about her journey, her experiences, and made an effort to ensure she felt at ease.
You noticed Minthara's initial unease gradually melting away as your fathers continued to dote on her. They served her food, asked about her preferences, and seemed genuinely interested in making her feel comfortable.
At one point, your father, noticing Minthara’s hesitation, began to regale her with stories of your childhood. He wanted to ensure she felt included and appreciated, regardless of her background.
Minthara, caught off guard by their kindness, tried to maintain her composure but struggled. She was unaccustomed to such genuine hospitality from drow who were not aligned with Lolth. She found herself being fussed over, with your fathers offering her more attention than you had anticipated.
You could see Minthara’s confusion and discomfort as she tried to navigate this new dynamic. She kept glancing at you, her eyes reflecting a mix of disbelief and discomfort. “I didn’t expect this. Why are they being so kind to me?”
You smiled warmly at her, understanding her surprise. “They know what it’s like to be cast out and exiled. They have a deep sense of empathy for anyone who’s been wronged, and they see past our differences. They genuinely want you to feel welcome.”
As the evening wore on, your fathers continued to make Minthara feel like a part of the family. They included her in conversations, invited her to join in family traditions, and even showed her some of their favorite recipes, explaining them with great enthusiasm.
By the end of the night, Minthara was visibly more relaxed. She had come to terms with the fact that your fathers were not only accepting but incredibly supportive. She found herself enjoying the evening, feeling a sense of belonging that she had not anticipated.
As the night drew to a close and you all said your goodbyes, Minthara pulled you aside, her eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and confusion. “I didn’t know what to expect, but they’ve been wonderful. I feel… I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like I’ve been given a chance I didn’t think I’d ever have.”
You gently squeezed her hand, your heart swelling with affection. “I’m glad they could show you that kindness. You deserve to feel welcomed and loved.”
Minthara smiled, her gaze softening as she looked at you. “Thank you for bringing me here. I didn’t know I could find this kind of acceptance. It means more to me than I can say.”

Lae'zel:
You and Lae'zel approached the small, secluded home where your parents lived. The quiet serenity of the surroundings was in stark contrast to the chaotic and tumultuous world that Lae'zel was accustomed to. Your heart pounded with a mixture of excitement and nervousness; this was the moment when Lae'zel would meet the parents who had rescued you from the harsh confines of the creche.
You had often spoken of your parents' pacifist and spiritual beliefs, but you knew that experiencing them firsthand might be a shock for someone as battle-hardened as Lae'zel. The journey had been long, but the sight of your parents' humble dwelling at the end of the path was both comforting and reassuring. You took a deep breath and gave Lae'zel a reassuring glance.
As you approached the door, you could hear the gentle strains of a melodic chant, a common practice in your parents’ daily rituals. You knocked softly, and after a moment, the door creaked open to reveal your mother, her face illuminated with a warm, welcoming smile.
“Welcome, dear one,” she said, her voice soft and soothing as she bowed to Lae'zel “You must be Lae'zel. I am so pleased to meet you.”
Lae'zel, always one for directness and formality, gave a respectful nod, her eyes scanning the peaceful surroundings with curiosity.
“Greetings,” she replied, her tone slightly reserved. Not entirely sure what to make of the Githyanki, she was covered in crystal necklaces and patterned robes - she had never seen a monk like this, if they were even monks.
Your mother stepped aside to let you and Lae'zel into the house. Inside, the space was filled with calming colors, soft lighting, and an array of spiritual symbols, incense and artifacts. The atmosphere was imbued with a sense of tranquility that seemed almost otherworldly compared to the harsh realities of the Githyanki creche.
Your father, who had been meditating in a corner, stood up and approached with a gentle smile. His presence was calm and serene, embodying the spiritual essence that defined your upbringing.
“Welcome, Lae'zel,” he said, extending a bow in greeting. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Lae'zel bowed firmly but with a hint of confusion in her eyes. She observed the peaceful surroundings and the serene demeanor of your parents, trying to reconcile it with the chaotic and violent nature of their offspring.
As you and Lae'zel settled into the cozy sitting area, your mother offered tea and various calming herbs. The conversation began slowly, with your parents asking Lae'zel about her experiences and interests, their curiosity genuine and untainted by judgment.
“So, Lae'zel,” your mother began gently, “what is it that you cherish most about your travels and experiences?”
Lae'zel, momentarily taken aback by the question, responded with cautious enthusiasm. “I value strength and discipline. My experiences in battle have shaped me into who I am today.”
Your father nodded thoughtfully. “Strength is indeed an important aspect of life. However, it is also crucial to find balance and peace within oneself. We believe that the universe guides us, and our actions shape our karma.”
Lae'zel listened with a mixture of intrigue and skepticism. “I understand the importance of balance, but my path has always been one of combat and survival. It is difficult to see how such ideals would fit into that world.”
You could see the slight discomfort in Lae'zel’s posture as she struggled to understand the philosophical approach of your parents.
After a moment, she turned to you with a questioning glance. “How did such calm and spiritual individuals produce someone as…”
“Violent and chaotic?” you finished, smiling wryly. “I’ve often wondered the same thing.”
Your mother laughed softly, a melodic sound that seemed to fill the room with warmth. “Our beliefs guided us to raise you with compassion and understanding, but we also recognize that each individual’s path is unique. We honor the journey you have undertaken, even if it diverges from our own.”
Your father added, his voice gentle but firm, “Everyone’s path is a reflection of their soul’s journey. The balance you seek and the battles you fight are all part of the cosmic dance. We accept and love you for who you are, as we do with Lae'zel.”
Lae'zel’s eyes softened as she absorbed their words. The realization that your parents held no ill will or judgment toward her, despite their vastly different beliefs, began to ease her confusion.
“Thank you for your acceptance,” she said, her voice more genuine and appreciative. “It is rare to find such kindness and openness in this world.”
Your mother placed a hand on Lae'zel’s shoulder, her touch light but filled with warmth. “We are grateful to have you here. Our love for our child extends to those who are important to them.”
As the evening wore on, the conversation flowed more naturally. Lae'zel’s initial reservations began to dissolve as she shared stories of her own experiences, and your parents listened with genuine interest and respect. The harmonious blend of your parents' spiritual wisdom and Lae'zel’s battle-hardened tales created a unique and memorable evening.
By the end of the night, Lae'zel’s initial confusion had transformed into a deep appreciation for your parents' way of life. The evening had been a bridge between two worlds, united by love and mutual respect. As you and Lae'zel prepared to leave, you felt a profound sense of contentment, knowing that your parents had embraced your lover with the same unconditional love that had guided them throughout their lives.

Shadowheart:
The gentle hum of the forest surrounded you as you and Shadowheart approached your family’s home, nestled among the ancient trees. The sun had begun its descent, casting a warm, golden light through the canopy. You had often spoken of your mothers—druids with a profound connection to nature and a loving, albeit occasionally overwhelming, tendency to fuss over you. Today, Shadowheart would finally... experience them.
Your heart fluttered with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. You were eager for Shadowheart to meet your family, but you also knew that your mothers’ affectionate, maternal instincts could be a bit overwhelming for someone not accustomed to such a display of love.
As you reached the clearing where your family’s home stood, a quaint and cozy cottage adorned with flowering vines and wooden carvings, you could already hear the soft murmur of your mothers’ voices. You knocked on the door, and it swung open almost immediately. There stood your mothers, their faces lighting up with joy upon seeing you.
“There you are, darling!” your mother called out, her voice warm and welcoming. She pulled you into a tight embrace, her touch familiar and comforting. “We’ve been waiting for you!”
Your other mother, her face alight with a gentle smile, stepped forward and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
“And who might this be?” she asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity as she looked at Shadowheart. You stepped aside to reveal Shadowheart, who stood with a mixture of nervousness and resolve.
“This is Shadowheart,” you said, gesturing to your lover. “Shadowheart, these are my mothers.”
Shadowheart offered a polite smile, her demeanor a mix of elegance and curiosity. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both.”
Your mothers’ eyes widened with delight. “Oh, what a lovely name! We’re so pleased to finally meet you!” your first mother said, her excitement evident in her voice. “Come in, come in! We’ve prepared a feast.”
As Shadowheart stepped into the home, she was immediately enveloped by the warmth and coziness of the space. The interior was decorated with nature-inspired motifs—wooden carvings, leafy tapestries, and the fragrant aroma of herbs and freshly baked bread.
The fussing began almost immediately. Your mothers led Shadowheart to the table, showering her with compliments and offering her a seat as if she were the guest of honor.
“You must be exhausted from your travels,” your second mother said, placing a plate of food in front of Shadowheart. “Please, help yourself to anything you like.”
Shadowheart chuckled softly, a genuine smile gracing her lips as she accepted the plate. “Thank you. I appreciate the warm welcome.”
Your mothers were not done yet. They hovered around Shadowheart, ensuring that her glass was always full, her plate was never empty, and that she was comfortable at all times. Their attentive care was met with Shadowheart’s amusement, her eyes twinkling with a mix of gratitude and mild surprise.
“It’s quite a spread you’ve prepared,” Shadowheart remarked, glancing around at the abundance of food. “You really didn’t need to go to such lengths.”
“Oh, but we wanted to!” your first mother replied, her eyes sparkling. “We’ve heard so much about you and couldn’t wait to meet the person who has brought so much joy to our dear child.”
As the evening progressed, the fussing continued. Your mothers insisted on telling Shadowheart stories about you as a child—stories that, while endearing, made you blush and roll your eyes in playful embarrassment. Shadowheart found the tales amusing, laughing and teasing you gently.
“You were quite the handful, weren’t you?” Shadowheart teased, her eyes glinting with amusement. “I can see where you get your spirit from.”
You playfully nudged her, a grin spreading across your face. “Oh, you have no idea.”
The evening was filled with laughter and warmth. Your mothers, having taken a liking to Shadowheart almost instantly, treated her as if she were their own. They were thoroughly enchanted by her grace, her charm, and the way she fit seamlessly into their home.
When the night drew to a close, and Shadowheart prepared to leave, your mothers insisted on packing a basket full of homemade goodies for the road.
“You must come back soon,” your first mother said, handing Shadowheart the basket with a loving smile. “We’d love to have you over again.”
“You’re always welcome here,” your second mother added, giving Shadowheart a warm hug. “We’re so happy to have met you.”
As you and Shadowheart left, you couldn’t help but notice the genuine affection and admiration your mothers had for her. Shadowheart, too, seemed touched by the experience, her smile reflecting the warmth and acceptance she had received.
As you walked hand in hand under the stars, you turned to Shadowheart. “How did you find it?”
Shadowheart’s eyes were soft, her expression reflecting a contentment that spoke volumes.
“They’re wonderful,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “I can see why you cherish them so much.”
You squeezed her hand gently, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. “I’m glad you think so. They really do have a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome.”
Shadowheart nodded, her smile widening. “It’s easy to see why they adore you. You’re a reflection of their kindness and warmth.”
With that, the two of you continued your walk, feeling closer than ever, united not only by your love but also by the acceptance and affection you had both received from your family.

Gale:
The grand estate of your parents was a marvel of elegance and opulence, nestled amidst well-manicured gardens and towering oak trees. As you and Gale approached the massive, ornate front door, you couldn’t help but notice the intricate detailing of the architecture and the luxurious surroundings. This was the world you had grown up in—a world of magic, wealth, and intellectual pursuit.
Gale, ever the inquisitive sage, was visibly awed by the grandeur. He looked around with wide eyes, taking in the sprawling grounds and the elaborate facade of the estate. As you approached the entrance, the door swung open to reveal a well-dressed butler.
“Welcome,” the butler said with a polished, professional demeanor. Gale’s eyes widened further as he greeted the servant with an enthusiastic nod.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, finally! I can see where Y/N gets their looks from,” Gale said, his voice tinged with excitement and charm. “I’ve read so much about this place! The magical academies you must have attended—”
The butler raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing at his lips. “I’m afraid you’re mistaken, sir. I am not one of Miss Y/N's parents. Allow me to show you in.”
Gale followed the butler inside, his excitement only slightly dampened by the wave of embarrasment he felt. The opulent interior of the estate was even more impressive up close. Rich tapestries, towering bookshelves, and gleaming chandeliers adorned every room.
The butler led you and Gale through a series of grand hallways until you reached the study—a room filled with arcane artifacts, ancient tomes, and an atmosphere of scholarly pursuit. There, seated behind an impressive mahogany desk, were your parents.
Your father, with his silver hair and scholarly robes, was immersed in a complex magical manuscript, while your mother, with her elegant demeanor and keen eyes, was sorting through a collection of rare magical artifacts.
“Mother, Father,” you began, your voice tinged with both pride and nerves, “this is Gale, my partner. Gale, these are my parents.”
Your parents looked up from their studies, their expressions lighting up with genuine warmth and interest. Your father, setting aside his manuscript, extended a hand to Gale. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Gale. I’ve heard quite a bit about you.”
Gale shook your father’s hand with enthusiasm, clearly impressed. “The pleasure is mine. Your home is magnificent, and the magical artifacts—well, I can’t even begin to describe how fascinated I am!”
Your mother stepped forward, her eyes sparkling with interest. “We’re delighted to finally meet you, Gale. We’ve heard so much about your own magical pursuits.”
As the evening progressed, Gale’s excitement became evident. He eagerly asked questions about the various magical artifacts displayed around the study, and your parents responded with equal enthusiasm. Their conversation was a blend of scholarly debate, magical theories, and tales of past discoveries.
Gale’s fascination with your parents’ work was palpable. He peppered them with questions, discussing magical theories and historical discoveries with a fervor that only someone deeply passionate about magic could muster. Your parents were equally absorbed, clearly enjoying the lively exchange of ideas.
“I’ve always wanted to study the intersection of elemental magic and arcane rituals,” Gale said animatedly, gesturing towards a particularly rare artifact. “How did you come across this?”
Your father launched into a detailed explanation, clearly delighted by Gale’s keen interest. Your mother joined in, adding her own insights and anecdotes. The conversation flowed seamlessly, and Gale’s eagerness to learn was met with genuine enthusiasm from your parents.
As the night wore on, the conversation showed no sign of slowing down. Your parents continued to engage Gale, showing him their latest magical experiments and inviting him to delve into their extensive library. The scholarly exchange was so engrossing that you found yourself on the periphery, watching with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
Eventually, it became clear that Gale was completely absorbed in the discussion. Your parents, captivated by his curiosity and knowledge, had no intention of ending the evening anytime soon. You, on the other hand, knew it was getting late and that you needed to move on.
With a mixture of laughter and determination, you approached Gale, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. “Gale, dear, I think it’s time for us to head home.”
Gale looked up, slightly dazed but still buzzing with excitement. “Oh, already? I haven’t even scratched the surface of the library yet.”
Your parents, catching the hint, smiled sympathetically. “We’ve enjoyed having you, Gale. You’re always welcome here. Your enthusiasm and knowledge have been a breath of fresh air.”
Gale beamed, clearly pleased with the reception he had received. “Thank you, I’ve learned so much tonight. I look forward to our next meeting.”
You guided Gale towards the door, the evening’s scholarly discussion still lingering in his mind. As you stepped out into the cool night air, Gale’s excitement was palpable.
“That was incredible,” he said, his eyes alight with enthusiasm. “Your parents are amazing. I could talk with them for hours.”
You smiled, feeling a mix of pride and amusement. “I’m simply glad that you enjoyed yourself. ”
As you walked hand in hand, you could still see the gleam of excitement in Gale’s eyes. The evening had not only strengthened his connection with your parents but had also deepened your appreciation for the intellectual curiosity and warmth that they had so effortlessly shared.

Astarion:
The grand estate of your high elf mother was a testament to centuries of noble lineage and refined taste as much as you tried to hide it. As you approached the entrance with Astarion by your side, the opulence of the place was unmistakable as was his excitement: towering columns, intricate carvings, and gardens that seemed to bloom with an otherworldly elegance.
You had warned your lover that your mother was very particular about appearances and had a deep-seated appreciation for high elven nobility. You knew it may hit a chord with Astarion considering he could not remember his family. Yet, you hoped that perhaps the favourable opulence your mother provided would be a balm to him.
When the door was opened by a distinguished servant, you were greeted by the sight of your mother standing in the grand foyer. She was the epitome of high elven grace, with her silver hair elegantly styled and her attire reflecting the nobility she held so dear. Her eyes, though sharp and discerning, softened as they fell on you.
“There you are, my dear!” she exclaimed, her voice musical and filled with affection. She swept forward to embrace you. “I’ve been eagerly awaiting your visit.”
You smiled, returning her embrace. “Hello, Mother. I’d like you to meet Astarion, my partner.”
Your mother’s gaze shifted to Astarion, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took him in. Her sharp eyes caught every detail, and what she immediately saw was potential.
“Ah, Astarion,” she said with a smile. “A pleasure to meet you.”
Astarion gave a graceful bow, his own expression a blend of charm and curiosity. “The pleasure is mine, Mi'lady. Your home is as magnificent as I’d imagined.”
As you and Astarion followed your mother into the main sitting room, the conversation turned to more personal matters. Your mother’s gaze was fixed on you, and you could almost see the wheels turning in her head as she took in your appearance. Her tone, though gentle, carried an undertone of reproach.
“My dear,” she began, her eyes softening only slightly. “I must say, I wish you would carry yourself more like the noble you are. You have such stunning jewelry and robes that you never wear, and yet you choose to dress in these ragged outfits. Why?”
You sighed, recognizing the familiar note in her voice. “Mother, you know I’m not one for formalities and fineries.”
Astarion, who had been observing the exchange with growing interest, found himself in a curious position. He had often made similar comments, and now, seeing your mother’s concern mirrored his own, he couldn’t help but agree.
“You know,” Astarion said, his voice smooth and diplomatic, “your mother makes a valid point. I’ve often thought that such beautiful jewelry would be more fitting for someone of your stature, my love.”
Your mother’s eyes lit up at Astarion’s agreement. “Oh, wonderful! You see, Astarion understands. He has such exquisite taste. Perhaps you should take a leaf out of his book.” Before you could protest, your mother clapped her hands with excitement. “I’ve actually arranged for a tailor to come in today to create some outfits for you, my dear. But clearly, it would be wasted on you if you don’t care for such things. Astarion, come with me. Let’s get you properly fitted.”
Astarion, caught between delight and surprise, found himself being gently but firmly escorted by your mother towards the designated fitting room.
“Oh, this is going to be a treat,” Astarion said, a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’ve always enjoyed the finer things.”
As your mother guided him away, she called back over her shoulder, “I’m so glad my child has chosen someone with such impeccable taste. I’m sure you’ll look splendid.”
Left alone in the sitting room, you couldn’t help but chuckle at the turn of events. Your mother’s unabashed enthusiasm for fashion was well-known, but it was amusing to see Astarion so willingly swept up in her plans.
When Astarion finally returned, impeccably dressed in one of the tailored outfits, he was a picture of elegance and refinement. Your mother beamed with pride at her handiwork, while Astarion struck a pose with a grin.
“There,” Astarion said, his eyes sparkling with satisfaction. “I must admit, your mother’s taste is impeccable.”
You smiled, both amused and touched by the way your mother had embraced Astarion. It was clear that she had taken an immediate liking to him and had found joy in seeing him embrace the world of high elven nobility.
“Thank you, Mother,” you said, your tone filled with genuine gratitude. “I’m glad you like him.”
Your mother smiled warmly, her eyes twinkling with contentment. “Of course, dear. It’s always wonderful to see someone who appreciates the finer things in life and of course loves you so dearly.”
As the evening progressed, you felt a renewed sense of connection with both your mother and Astarion. Their mutual appreciation for elegance and refinement had created a bond that bridged the gap between your world and Astarion’s. And as you watched them converse animatedly, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment knowing that your worlds had come together in such a delightful way.

Wyll:
You arrived at the quaint, country home where your older siblings lived, a place that held countless memories of your childhood. Your siblings, though somewhat overprotective, had always been your steadfast support, especially after they had taken you in and raised you as their own. They had shaped your upbringing with love and a strong sense of family, which had molded you into the person you were today. Now, it was time for them to meet Wyll, your partner.
As you pulled up to the house, you could see your siblings through the window, busying themselves with preparations for your visit. The scent of home-cooked food wafted through the air, mingling with the crisp scent of autumn leaves. Your heart swelled with nostalgia and anticipation.
Wyll, ever charming and confident, stepped out of the carriage beside you. His eyes took in the serene surroundings with interest, and he gave you a reassuring smile. “Ready?” he asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.
You nodded, squeezing his hand gently. “Absolutely. They’re going to love you.”
You approached the front door, and before you could knock, it swung open. Your elder sister, always the more practical and warm-hearted of the two, greeted you with a beaming smile.
“There you are!” she exclaimed, enveloping you in a hearty embrace. “It’s so good to see you!”
Your brother, equally protective but with a more reserved demeanor, stood just behind her, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in Wyll.
“And who’s this?” he asked, his tone cautious but curious.
“This is Wyll,” you said, stepping aside to introduce him. “Wyll, this is my older sister and my brother. They’ve been like parents to me.”
Wyll stepped forward with his usual grace, offering a polite bow. “A pleasure to meet you both. I’ve heard so much about you.”
Your sister’s eyes lit up with immediate warmth. “Oh, please, come in! We’ve prepared some food. I hope you’re hungry.”
As Wyll followed you inside, your brother’s keen eyes studied him with careful scrutiny.
“So, you’re the one who’s captured our sibling’s heart,” he said, his tone measured but not unkind.
Wyll met his gaze steadily, a hint of his trademark charm in his smile. “I certainly hope so. As I’m very much in love with them.”
The evening unfolded with laughter and lively conversation. Your siblings, despite their initial wariness, soon found themselves charmed by Wyll’s easy demeanor and genuine kindness. Wyll regaled them with tales of his adventures, always careful to include stories that highlighted his respect for you and his deep feelings for you.
During dinner, your sister took the opportunity to fuss over Wyll, ensuring he had more than enough to eat and frequently checking if he needed anything.
“Here, try this,” she said, placing a heaping serving of her special casserole on his plate. “It’s one of our family’s favorites.”
Wyll graciously accepted the food, clearly appreciative of the effort and care that had gone into preparing it.
“This is delicious,” he said, his eyes bright with genuine praise. “You have a real talent for cooking.”
Your brother, having observed Wyll’s interactions with you and his appreciative attitude towards your family, began to warm up. He joined in the conversation, sharing stories of his own and laughing heartily at Wyll’s humor.
“You know,” he said, his tone more relaxed, “you’re quite a character. I can see why our sibling is so taken with you.”
As the evening drew to a close, your siblings were more than satisfied with their impressions of Wyll. They had taken him into their fold with the same protective and loving care they had always extended to you. Your sister, in particular, couldn’t resist offering some parting words of advice.
“Take care of them,” she said, her tone both serious and affectionate. “They mean the world to us.”
Wyll nodded, his expression sincere. “I promise, I will.”
Your brother, now visibly more at ease, clapped Wyll on the back. “And if you ever need anything, you know where to find us.”
As you and Wyll left the house, you felt a deep sense of contentment. The evening had been a success, and you were glad to see that your siblings had welcomed Wyll into the family with open arms. The bond between you and your partner had only grown stronger, fortified by the acceptance and affection of those you held dear.
Wyll took your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “That went better than I could have hoped,” he said with a relieved smile. “Your family is wonderful.”
You smiled back, feeling a warm glow of happiness. “I’m glad they like you. They’re a big part of my life, and it means a lot to me that they’ve embraced you.”
Together, you walked into the evening, your hearts light and your spirits high, knowing that your relationship had the support and approval of the people who had shaped your life.

Halsin:
Bringing Halsin home to meet your sisters was something you had been both excited and a little anxious about. Your sisters had raised you with all the fierce love and protectiveness of true guardians, always looking out for you and making sure you were safe. They had been through thick and thin with you, and naturally, they were very cautious when it came to the people you brought into your life. Their approval meant the world to you, and you knew they wouldn’t let anyone into the family without a thorough vetting.
As you approached the cozy cottage where your sisters lived, nestled in a lush forest clearing, you couldn’t help but feel a flutter of nerves. Halsin, ever the calm and collected druid, walked beside you, his presence a steadying force. He noticed your unease and placed a reassuring hand on your back, giving you a warm smile.
"Everything will be alright," he said gently. "Your sisters care about you deeply. I understand their need to ensure I am worthy of your trust."
You nodded, grateful for his understanding, but knowing just how intense your sisters could be. As you reached the front door, you could already hear the familiar sounds of their voices from within, chatting and laughing as they prepared for your arrival. The moment you knocked, the door swung open, revealing your eldest sister. Her eyes immediately landed on Halsin, and she gave him a scrutinizing look before turning to you with a smile.
"There you are!" she exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug. "We’ve been waiting for you."
Your other sisters quickly joined, each of them hugging you and then turning their attention to Halsin, their expressions a mix of curiosity and thinly veiled protectiveness. They exchanged glances before the eldest spoke up.
"And this must be Halsin," she said, her tone polite but with a hint of challenge. "We’ve heard so much about you."
Halsin inclined his head in a respectful nod. "It’s an honor to finally meet the people who have cared for my beloved so well."
Your sisters ushered you both inside, but it wasn’t long before they began their gentle yet probing interrogation. They gathered around Halsin, questions flying from all directions, their protectiveness on full display.
"So, Halsin," your second sister began, her arms crossed as she leaned against the kitchen counter. "Tell us about yourself. How did you meet our dear sibling?"
"And what exactly are your intentions?" another sister chimed in, her tone light but with an edge of seriousness.
"Do you truly understand how special they are?" the youngest asked, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked Halsin up and down.
You felt a flush of embarrassment as they continued to press him, despite your attempts to intervene.
"Come on, give him a break!" you protested, trying to pull Halsin away from their inquisition. "He’s not on trial!"
But Halsin remained unfazed, meeting each question with calm and sincere answers. He spoke about how you had met, how your connection had grown, and how deeply he cared for you. His tone was warm, his words thoughtful, and he never once appeared flustered or defensive. Instead, he seemed to understand exactly why your sisters were behaving this way, and he respected their desire to protect you.
"My intentions," Halsin said, turning to the sister who had asked, "are to cherish and support them in every way I can. Your sibling is incredibly special to me, and I am committed to walking alongside them, no matter where our paths may lead."
Your sisters exchanged glances, clearly impressed by his responses. The atmosphere began to shift, their initial wariness melting into acceptance. They began to relax around him, and soon the conversation turned to lighter topics.
As the evening wore on, your sisters found themselves drawn to Halsin’s kind and wise nature. He shared stories of his druidic practices, his connection to nature, and his adventures in the wilds. They laughed at his tales of animals he had encountered and listened intently to his insights on the natural world. His deep respect for life and his gentle demeanor resonated with them, and before long, they were no longer interrogating him, but enjoying his company as if he had always been a part of the family.
By the end of the night, your sisters were completely won over. They were chatting and laughing with Halsin, offering him second helpings of dessert and even sharing embarrassing stories about you from your childhood. The transition from skepticism to acceptance had been so seamless that it was hard to believe they had ever been anything but welcoming.
As you and Halsin prepared to leave, your eldest sister pulled you aside, a soft smile on her face. "You’ve chosen well," she said, her voice full of approval. "He’s a good man. We’re happy for you."
You felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over you, knowing that your sisters had accepted Halsin so fully. When you turned back to him, he was chatting with your other sisters, all of them smiling and at ease.
As you finally left the cottage, your hand in Halsin’s, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment. Halsin had faced the scrutiny of your overprotective sisters with grace and patience, and in the end, he had won them over completely. You knew that bringing him into your family had been the right decision, and you were filled with gratitude for the love and acceptance that now surrounded you both.

Hello! I was wondering if you could write a James Hook x Reader. She’s Hans’ daughter but her relationship with him is complicated. Since he couldn’t become king he wants the reader to marry a prince so she can be a queen in the future. She tells him no prince would ever fall for her bc she’s a VK to get him to stop pressuring her. But the truth is she doesn’t even want to marry a prince bc she likes James.
Although she’s Hans’ daughter she’s friends with Bridget and Ella bc she’s nothing like her father personality wise and doesn’t want to be ever. Which is why James became intrigued with her and flirts. She’s always standing up for Bridget.
Anyway at the end Hans somehow finds out what’s going on between reader and James. Later at night he confronts the reader about it stating that she will marry a prince. But she finally stands up for herself. You can decide what he says but then he leaves and she breaks down but James comforts her bc he heard everything. You can decide the rest.
Sorry this is long thank you in advance!

"That boy, uh... Prince Charming, at your school, why not marry him?"
"Oh my fucking Christ, Dad" You groan. "One, I'm a VK, two, he doesn't like me, nor do I like him, three, stop with this conversation"
"What about that Snow White girl?"
You grumble, stomping away to your room to get away from your self projecting father. Every day for the past God-knows-how-long he'd keep bringing up you marrying into a royal family. Just because he lost a girl by being a douchebag apparently meant he had to project his insecurities on you.
You weren't like him at all, nor did you ever want to be. He was a complete asshat from what he's told you, thinking he was always in the right. You were a VK gone soft, or a VK with morals and a good heart, whatever floats your boat.
Your best friends Bridget and Ella were AK's who'd welcomed you into the good side with open arms. They were quiet and sort of shy, too scared to stand up for themselves. But that's why they had you, because being born as a villain kid meant you could be mean, you could use your voice to get what you wanted, or at least try.
"Go away, Hook. Leave her alone." you call, walking up on James and Maleficent picking on Bridget and her bright pink flower themed cake.
"Or what?" He questions, leaning away from Bridget, turning to you as you stand in front of her. "Gonna walk the plank for me?"
You roll your eyes. "Are you looking for a fight? What do you guys get out of doing this?"
He shrugs deviously. "Entertainment, darling."
"Go away," you order, "Unless you really wanna put your Captain title at risk." You turn around, pulling Bridget away from the duo.
"Confident, are you?" He laughs. "Wait and see, gorgeous," he turns around, pulling his partner along.
Maleficent hisses, watching as you and Bridget walk away.
"What's with you and that fake VK?" she asks him.
James shrugs.
Tumblr media
"Well, hello again, darling"
"Don't you ever go away?"
"You've got a mouth for an Auradon Kid, don't you?" He chuckles. "Wait... you're not an Auradon Kid. You're a VK."
You roll your eyes. "Just cause I was conceived by a villain doesn't mean I am a villain"
He sighs. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
You turn around, seeing him still standing over you. Can't a person get five minutes alone in the library?
"What do you want?"
He shrugs. "Wanted to ask why you've joined the good side. You're always defending those girls. It's weird"
"How is having morals weird?" you ask. "Genuinley. Sit"
He glances around with furrowed brows before joining you, taking a seat beside you. He sits sideways to face you, resting his hooked hand on the table.
"What makes you think harassing people is fun?"
He shrugs. "It's funny, entertaining."
"Sadly, I can't control your actions." you speak with a light sigh, turning back to your book.
"Why do you defend them?" He asks rather swiftly.
"Because they're my friends?" you reply.
He tilts his head. "You're fascinating"
You groan. "I'm a normal, not evil person"
"And I'm not?"
"No, you're a bitch"
Tumblr media
"Hello, love"
"Piss off"
"You should be nicer to me. After all..."
"Close your damn mouth. There is nothing going on between us"
Bridget and Ella, wide-eyed, turn to you.
You exhale through your nose, slowly closing your eyes to find yourself and to not freak out. You look at them, a kind smile on your face.
"There is nothing going on between us" you repeat.
"I'd beg to differ..." James mumbles while Morgie giggles.
You turn to the girls. "Go to class, I'll be there in a minute"
They nod, walking to the classroom just down the hall.
You cross your arms, waiting for James to speak. Morgie stands beside him before he's shoo'd away, making the conversation private.
James smiles, pulling a sandwich bag out of his coat. Inside rests three slightly crumbled cookies that he'd made just for you. He holds them out to you, a cautious and slightly concerned look on his face.
"Sorry your dad's been... y'know"
You shrug, accepting the sweet treats. "It's fine, just pisses me off. Thank you, though"
"Anytime, darling"
"You need to stop with that. Someone's gonna catch on that there is actually something going on between us"
"Eh, I'm alright with that"
Tumblr media
"See you later, pirate boy"
"Hook you later, love"
You press a chaste kiss to his lips before running up the front steps of your house, opening the door with a small smile on your lips. You close the door behind you, watching through the window as your little love interest walks away.
You walk into the living room, saying hello to your father, backpack slung over your shoulder. "I'm home"
"How was your day?" He asks, flipping the TV to another channel.
Your ears painfully vibrate due to the sound of your father sharpening a knife in his lap. God, he couldn't pick a better time?
"Fine," you wince. "I'll be in my room. I have homework"
You quickly walk away before he can speak anymore, knowing leftover dinner was in the fridge for you to access. Having homework wasn't a lie, but you were definitely lying about doing it.
As darkness fell, and after you'd dropped multiple hours cleaning your room, you opened up your window, allowing the fresh, cool air into the stuffy warm room. You lean against the window sill, awaiting your dumb love, the breeze brushing against your face.
You knew this was wrong, all of it. You'd been having wicked dreams of leaving Auradon, hearing new, distant lands calling your name. You'd never make your father proud. He'll see his baby and scream, 'God, what have you done?' as you wave goodbye on a ship with James, dressed to explore the world.
You had dreams, he had expectations.
You imagined a wide open sea, James Hook at your side, the salty air against your face. It was a daydream, one that could be accomplished. You imagine a whole world to explore, all the things you'd never seen, you'd be able to experience. From waterfalls to exotic animals, you wanted to see it all, you wanted to see all the sunsets and cultural differences. You wanted it all.
"Hey!"
"Hi!"
You watch as Hook climbs up the tree in your front yard, then use your little zipline connected to the roof to enter your room through the window. You grab his hand, pulling him into the refreshed bedroom you called home.
He rests his hands around your waist, his signature smirky-smile upon his face. "I missed you oh-so dearly"
You scoff. "It's been like, five hours"
He pulls you closer, smashing your lips together like this was some romantic romance movie where the two main characters had to leave each other in the end. He shoves you to the bed, allowing you to sit on the mattress as he stands over you, his hook lightly tracing your jawline, his hand resting on the nape of your neck.
Your door flings open, the two of you jumping in fear, eyes glued to the room's entrance. James quickly scrambles out the window, leaving you alone to deal with your father.
"Are you kidding me, Y/n?! First you're kissing a boy outside, then you're sneaking him into my house! For the last time, you'll be marrying into royalty, not sneaking around with some pirate wannabe!" Your father shouts. "I'll be boarding up your window from now on and I'll be taking this damn door away too."
"Just because you have a soft ego and are a narcissistic piece of shit doesn't mean you can force your insecurities on to me!" You yell. "My love life has nothing to do with you at all. I'm not going to be some teenage newlywed so you can ruin a whole kingdom's worth of lives through me. I am not you and I will never be you!"
He's too stunned to speak, surprised that you've talked back, the words leaving your lips like you had them ready to use. You stare into his soul, heavily breathing, fists clenched as you stand in front of him.
You rush to the window as he leaves, slamming the door behind him, not sure how to approach the situation. You slide out the open window, holding back tears.
James quickly wraps you in a hug, allowing you to crumble in his arms.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" He whispers, holding onto you tightly.
"It's fine" You shake your head with a grumble. "Fuck"
His hand rubs your shoulder.
You sit in silence with him for a few minutes, carefully listening as your father stomps around the house.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, love. Do you need somewhere else to stay?-"
"I'm fine" You reply. "I'll be fine"
He's silent for a moment. "I don't feel comfortable leaving you here"
"He won't hurt me. He's a wimp with an ego." You shrug.
He nods. "Yeah, that's true"
You quickly look up at him, a random thought in your brain. "Have you ever seen a flamingo before? In real life?"
"I've conquered the seven seas, babe. Of course I have"
"Cool"

It takes no time at all to see Aemond's car pull up in front of your house.
Pursing your lips and you already feel the nerves tensing your body. You adjust the strap of your backpack on your shoulder and say goodbye to your father, then leave your house and head towards the car.
Aemond has already rolled down the passenger seat window and keeps a small grin on his lips as he watches you, but you deliberately ignore him and especially that grin on his face.
But what you don't ignore is his car. It's too modern and expensive, exactly what you would expect from him. Besides it's his style, black and extremely clean. And when you get in and settle into the seat, the interior smells like him, rich, masculine and nice.
"Hey," you say to him, as you close the door and fasten your seat belt.
"Hey," he returns your greeting, watching you intently, "How are you?"
You frown, slightly confused by his question.
"I'm good," you say nonchalantly, "You?"
"All good, yes," he nods, letting his hand rest on the steering wheel. Then he watches you carefully, now with some hesitation, "Are you ready?"
"Hmm... yeah, I guess," you reply, nervous and hesitant, trying to appear normal, as you absently place your backpack on your lap, "Just..." you watch him pleadingly, reminding him, "When you're going to do something, you know... in front of everyone, let me know."
He puts back his soft smile, starting the car.
"Yes, ma'am."
The car starts up, an awkward silence developing in the air, where at first you both look for something to say to break the silence, but eventually you become immersed in your own thoughts.
And you at all times try to control your nerves and prepare yourself more mentally for everything that is coming today... and also for the next almost five months.
The music on the radio eases that slight tension between the two of you but when you least expect it, Aemond arrives and parks in the school parking lot, which is flooding with students.
"Thanks for the ride," you say, unbuckling your belt and he gives you a soft look.
"It's nothing, don't worry," he replies calmly.
You exhale deeply, peering through the windows of his car at the students outside, immersed in their groups of friends or their own worlds. But you know that soon enough all the attention will fall on you and him, so you continue to fight it, the nerves.
"So..." you return your gaze to him, attentive, "What exactly are we going to do now?"
"We just have to walk to the building together," he points to you as if it's the simplest thing in the world, which it is, but now you're both a 'couple', "We'll hold hands, I can walk you to your locker, we'll play a little, and then we'll head to our classes. Nothing more."
As simple as it sounds in his words, the prospect of performing as a couple in public makes you feel a mixture of nerves and anxiety. But you don't really have a choice so you just nod and go back to watching everyone out there one last time.
When you suddenly feel his warm hand place on top of yours, an unexpected gesture that surprises you and makes you focus on him again.
"Hey, I'm with you, okay?" he says softly, "You're not alone. And I promise you that everything will be fine, nothing bad is going to happen," he assures you, "You just need to relax, let yourself go and follow my lead. That way it will be easier, I assure you."
He tells you as his gaze conveys a sense of trust and understanding, wanting to reassure you in the midst of your nerves, reassuring you that everything will be okay, supporting you.
And even though you still feel a little nervous, with the assurance he conveys in every thing he says and every gesture, you decide to trust his words, managing to comfort you just enough.
Then he gives you a few more seconds, understanding that you should feel completely calm and finally you put the strap of your backpack on your shoulder, deciding that you want to get started and also get this over with once and for all.
"Ready?" he asks you with his reassuring look.
You nod, taking a deep breath to calm your nerves.
"Yeah, I'm good."
He nods too and finally you both get out of the car. And as soon as the two of you step foot outside, a few glances land on you and Aemond.
You wait for him to circle the car and once at your side, without hesitation your fingers intertwine with his, where as you watch his face, you find that assurance he seeks to convey to you, assuring you that everything will be okay.
And together, you begin to walk towards the main school building.
Aemond's presence at your side offers you comfort as you see hoy everyone looks at you, looks of surprise and curiosity, all watching you both attentively.
And at the same time you see how among the same groups of boys and girls talk to each other, seeming to wonder about seeing the two of you together.
At this, as you advance, you swallow hard and try to control your nervous look and keep your composure, also the slight fear you feel inside you and your heart that beats strongly, aware that every step you take is closely followed by the looks of everyone.
And as you feel the slight squeeze Aemond gives your hand with his, he gives you that small comfort amidst all the stares and emotions that invade you and you internally thank him for his gesture.
So you decide to concentrate on the comforting touch of his hand intertwined with yours, reminding you that you are not alone and you follow his lead, remembering his words from the beginning.
He, in comparison to you, seems serene and confident in all of this.
And despite the discomfort you felt with him at first and wanting to run away from him, now his presence begins to be comforting and you feel that you will panic if he leaves your side now.
And with every step you both take, you seem to attract more stares, as if you are a magnet for attention. There seems to be no end to the amount of curious stares on both of you, and that feeling increases more as you both walk deeper into the bustling hallways of the school.
You just hear the constant buzz of conversations and the attention focused on both of you becomes even more apparent. But regardless, you follow Aemond's lead, letting him guide you through all this overwhelming attention.
Eventually you both reach your locker and he stays by your side, as you begin to grab the books you will need today and people continue to watch you.
"It's a good start," Aemond says next to you, leaning toward you just so you can hear him.
"Only if you like the attention," you mention.
"Please, it's not so bad either," he says and leans closer to you, where with delicate gesture he tucks a lock of your hair behind your ear, watching you intently, beginning to act on the plan.
His movement catches you a little off guard, but you play along. You lean your body towards him, trying to keep a relaxed face and put a discreet smile.
"The whole school is watching us."
"Exactly what we wanted or not?" he says to then drop a kiss on your forehead that also takes you by surprise but you continue to skillfully feign, "And you're doing great."
A real genuine smile settles on your lips and you continue to organize your backpack as Aemond takes one of your hands and begins to trace it with his fingertips, then absentmindedly and also discreetly observes around him.
It is true that everyone is watching you both, but what catches his attention is seeing his ex-girlfriend, Alys, in this same hallway with her group of friends also watching.
You can't read much of his gaze, as he focuses back on you, especially when you finally close your locker door and give him your full attention, as he places a small smile on his lips.
He pulls you into his body as he leans against the back lockers, hugging you and placing you between his legs, and you let him, as obviously everyone is watching you at that moment.
"I'm going to kiss you now, okay?"
He whispers into your face and you open your mouth to speak, instantly lifting your face up to him to watch him, but when you least expect it, he is already kissing you.
You stifle a slight gasp in the middle of the kiss, feeling one of Aemond's hands gently caress your cheek and the other he keeps it on your waist, pulling you closer to him in a gentle way, as he presses his lips against yours gently and carefully, almost adoringly.
His lips feel soft and warm, so you kiss him back as best you can, closing your eyes and letting your hands rest on his chest.
Thankfully there's no movement and it's just pressing lips against lips, but the kiss is prolonged, Aemond more than anything else wanting to make sure everyone sees.
And when you both pull apart, he keeps his smile and his hands on your body as you try to disguise the surprise and daze.
"I'll see you at break," he says, letting go of your body slowly.
"Sure," you nod and smile, aware that more people are watching.
"Everything will be fine and if anything happens, text me," he tells you softly before separating you from his body and you nod again, feeling grateful again.
He leaves one last kiss on your forehead before he walks away, giving you one last comforting look. You watch as he walks away down the hallway, heading to his first class, just as the bell rings throughout the school.
So now feeling all eyes on you, you too quickly head towards your first class too.
And from that moment on, everything explodes.
The only topic of conversation going around the school is how the hottest and most popular guy in the whole school, Aemond Targaryen, is dating you, a girl not entirely... known.
You also hear how he and Alys' breakup is briefly mentioned, they also talk about how she cheated on him and that's when you come in... you and this unexpected news of the two of you dating.
It's clear that no one was expecting it, so there are a lot of questions as well. And eventually, the questioning begins.
"Y/N?" asks Aegon, confused, watching his younger brother intently, "And who is Y/N? I've never heard of her."
"Aegon, that doesn't matter," interjects Helaena, watching him grimly.
"She's my girlfriend," Aemond declares with a firm tone as he puts away some books in his locker.
"What matters is why you never told us anything... until now that the whole school knows too," Helaena says, confused, "We didn't even know you were interested in anyone after—
"That crazy of Alys," Aegon interrupts, not even bothering to lower the tone of his voice, also looking at Aemond with confusion.
Aemond looks up from his locker, noting back the questioning looks from his brother and sister.
"The thing with Alys is over," he says nonchalantly, "We both ended badly, she got satisfaction from it, I moved on and now I met someone new, what's wrong with that?"
Helaena exchanges a glance with Aegon and crosses her arms over her chest.
"No Aem, there's nothing wrong with it," she clarifies to him in a soft tone, "But at least you could have told us before the whole school found out."
"Yeah," Aegon says beside her, supporting her in her words, "And you never mentioned her," he says still with his confused face and tone, "Why?"
Aemond exhales deeply, feeling the pressure of they stares and questions, trying to keep his face composed.
"I've known her for a while."
He begins to say, clearly lying but trying to hear himself sound as convincing as possible, understanding that he must later tell Y/N about this if they and anyone else ask her the same question.
"She's in almost all the same classes as me. We did some projects together, started talking, hanging out a few times and well... things happened really fast. Even I didn't expect it, neither did she and it just happened, you know?"
Aegon watches him curiously, while Helaena examines him with full attention.
"And mom knows?"
"No, she doesn't," he says instantly, attentive and alert, "And listen, please don't tell her anything yet."
"Why not?" Aegon says confused, "She is your girlfriend and she should know her, no?"
"Yes, but we've just started dating and I want to give her a little more time until she's ready," he says in a soft, almost pleading tone, watching them both carefully, "I don't want to rush things more than they've already been rushed, so please.... let me tell mom when I've talked to Y/N."
Both are silent for a few seconds, where again the two exchange glances, and then Aegon nods in his direction with a more disinterested and more typical Aegon look. And Helaena, after analyzing his words, nods as well.
"Fine but be sure to tell her soon. You know how mom is with this sort of thing and if you let too much time pass, she'll be upset with you."
"Yes, I will, I promise."
Again silence engulfs the three of them and after a few seconds, Aegon breaks the silence with a smile.
"Well, now I want to meet my little brother's new girlfriend."
"Me too," nods Helaena, "Even without knowing her I already like her better than the witch."
Aegon lets out a laugh and Aemond just rolls his eye with an amused look.
"I'll try to talk to her if I see her," Helaena adds.
Shit.
Aemond thinks instantly.
"Fine but don't ask her too many questions, don't harass her and I'll find out if you tell her about my embarrassing stories," he warns her, "Same goes for you," he points to Aegon as well.
"Easy," he tells him confused, raising his hands in surrender, "I just want to meet my sister-in-law."
"Yes but watch that mouth," he warns him once more, "I'll see you later."
He closes his locker, the three of them say goodbye and he heads off to his next class, leaving behind his siblings and the growing curiosity that hasn't stopped from the other students in the hallway.
Certainly the news of his new relationship spreads quickly throughout the school, creating a buzz of gossip among all the hallways, because when he met with his friends, they too question him about the unexpected news.
The same goes for you, that even though you have no friends, or at least not close ones, when you are in the library, someone unexpectedly question you about your... 'boyfriend'.
"So...
A voice begins to speak in your direction and you look up, meeting Alysanne Blackwood, a classmate just as introverted and quiet as you, sitting at the other end of the huge table you're sitting at.
"Who knew you liked rich, popular boys," she says with a small smile.
"Oh... hi Alysanne," you say, putting a small smile, discreetly ignoring her comment.
That doesn't stop her, however, as she rises from her seat and takes her place in front of you, completely commanding your attention with her energetic presence.
"The truth is, I never imagined seeing you with someone like Aemond, "she says, evidently trying to start a conversation on the subject, "I never even saw you two talking together before."
And there you start to feel the knot of nerves in your stomach as you try to find the right words to explain the unexpected situation.
"The truth is, it was all very... discreet and... unexpected," you say, starting to think fast to come up with something convincing.
"And I bet Alys freaked out," she say with an amused smile, "God, I would have paid to see her face. She obviously wouldn't expect to see her ex with you."
You cocked your head to the side, watching her with curiosity and some confusion.
"Don't get me wrong, it's obvious that you and I are similar but a different type of girls like Alys," she explains, "So of course she must have been furious."
"Oh, um... I really don't know," you reply with a shrug. "I didn't notice if she saw us when the whole school did."
"Oh believe me," she says without wiping off her smile, "She did see you and she's furious," she assures you, "And that's okay because she deserves it. I can't stand her and I can't stand her stupid group of pretty girls who don't have a single neuron in their brains."
Alysanne, with her playful smile, seems to enjoy the awkwardness you find yourself in, so she leans a little closer to you, as if sharing a secret.
"Anyway, how do you feel about it? With Aemond, I mean," she asks, changing the tone of the conversation.
"Oh, well... he's different, I guess," you admit, searching for the right words, "I didn't know him much before this, but he's kind, funny, and.... yeah, different."
God, this is harder than I thought.
Talking about Aemond in this way is not entirely untrue, as he is nice and a little funny, but only a little. But still, you don't really know him and you think that's what you both need, to get to know each other better.
And that way, maybe this won't cost you too much.
"Well, at least you're not hating it. Although, truth be told, I think it's refreshing to see you dating someone outside of your comfort zone. And I'm also saying this from my own experience, it's... rewarding."
You watch her more interested than before, a little surprised.
"You have a boyfriend now?"
"Nah, it's been a while since we broke up," he says with a disinterested gesture, "But that's what he left me with and I hope you enjoy it, just don't be afraid."
She tells you and that particularly gets your attention more.
"And by the way, if you need advice on how to deal with girls like Alys, you know where to find me," she adds with a soft laugh.
Despite the strange situation and the fact that your talking about your 'relationship', when it's not even real, her words make you feel something and you realize that the conversation with her has become more enjoyable.
And you also realize that maybe you are not so alone in this unexpected moment of your school life.
So classes go by normally, you don't really see Aemond much, except in the hallways and when lunchtime comes, you take a seat alone at one of the cafeteria tables and turn your back on all the piercing stares.
"Hey, babe."
You raise your gaze and Aemond has a radiant smile on his face, turning animatedly toward you.
You place your best smile towards him, especially since there are still many pairs of eyes watching you, especially the eyes of Alys and her entire group of friends, who haven't stopped watching you as if they were going to kill you with their gaze since you arrived.
Aemond leaves a soft kiss on your forehead and takes a seat next to you, creating a space of privacy between the two of you, making sure no one else hears what he will say.
"How have you been?" you ask him, popping a strawberry into your mouth.
"Great. Everything is going perfectly, everyone is believing us and I hear Alys is furious and dead jealous," he says, with his little smile, "I've played her same game and now she knows how it feels. And the next few weeks will only get even better."
"As long as you keep me out of it, it's fine," you decide to joke, focusing on your food.
And when he answers your silence, you look back at him and he's watching you with a seriousness that isn't quite true. You let out a small laugh and he taps his shoulder lightly with yours, smiling.
"What are you talking about?" he asks you playfully, "Of course you'll be in for it."
You both share a brief complicit chuckle and he takes a strawberry from your bowl and savors it with a satisfied expression, then gives you a playful look.
"I'm actually enjoying this more than I thought I would. We seem to have caused a little of a commotion here," he says, averting his gaze to the bustle of the cafeteria.
"A little commotion?" you repeat, incredulous, "I think more like a big commotion, Aemond."
"Oh, and also..." he begins to say, more serious and in a lower tone, leaning towards you, "Aegon and Hel have already asked me some questions," he says, catching your full attention, "So if they try to talk to you, just say that we met and started talking in class. Also, that everything between us happened very fast and we decided to be discreet, nothing more."
And even though it's nothing difficult or anything out of this world, you can't help but feel a little overwhelmed by the sudden complexity of the situation. You also can't help the nerves in you.
Being part of all these lies and still having to create more lies, that's what makes you uneasy and you feel that in the moment you will ruin everything. And Aemond seems to read your thoughts, noticing your slightly worried expression.
"I know that they can be a bit nosy, I know that and I'm sorry. But it would have been too risky to tell them the truth and—
"No, no, it's not that, Aemond," you interrupt him instantly, "I just feel nervous and a little... scared," you confess, "I feel like I'll ruin everything if your sister or brother talk to me, because of the nerves, but I'm sure I can handle it."
"Yes, of course," he nods, nonchalant and speaking to you in a soft tone, taking one of your hands to entwine with his, "Just... if they ask you something specific, wing it, but keep the story general. I know you'll be able to do it."
You nod in his direction, his soft, comforting gaze making you feel better and more capable of being able to handle this. When you remember an also very important point.
"And you asked them not to say anything to your family?"
"Oh yeah, that too, yeah," he nods, "Don't worry, it wasn't hard. So we're good with that."
"Good," you say relieved.
You don't let go of his hand and go back to focusing on your food, while he stands next to you and watches you silently, saying absolutely nothing, watching you with a soft, calm gaze and trying to transmit that love just by watching you.
And his gaze on you while you eat starts to make you feel uneasy, so you watch him and put on a small nervous smile, not understanding the way he is looking at you.
Actually you do know but just like him, you have to play.
"What?"
Aemond lifts both corners of his lips a little higher.
"Everyone is looking at us," he says expectantly, in a low, soft voice, glancing around for a second to refocus on you.
And you roll your eyes playfully.
"I told you not to abuse that."
"But you said at extremely necessary times and right now seems like an extremely necessary time to me... love."
And there it is again, those nicknames that make you feel weird and Aemond enjoys watching you shiver at those words, smiling playfully.
"And I think it's only fair that now you're the one kissing me."
"You know, I'm already regretting this."
"I'm waiting," he says expectantly, never taking his eyes off you attentively for a second.
And you roll your eyes again and then lean into him with no choice and leave a soft kiss on his lips, in front of everyone, which he reciprocates instantly, only increasing his smile even more when you pull away from him.
"Thank you, love."
"Please," you look at him pleadingly, "Stop saying that."
He lets out a small laugh.
"Whatever you say, love."
You stare at him for a second and then he goes back to stealing one of your strawberries.
"By the way, wouldn't you rather go to lunch with my friends?" he points to the table of his friends who also belong to the lacrosse team, "They've also asked me about us. And I think having lunch with them, will make it all more believable."
You let out a long breath.
"It doesn't have to be now," he hasten to say.
"No, no, it's fine," you assure him, "I think it will make the relationship more believable too."
"Okay, but we have to stay here, at least for this day," he says, enjoying all the attention and you don't fight it, "Oh, and before I forget this, I have a match on Friday."
Oh no.
So soon?
You can't help but think, watching him completely intently.
"Really?" you ask starting to feel nervous and you don't even know why.
"Yeah, obviously you have to go and support me, shout my name, some cheers and all that," he says visibly excited, "The whole school is attending, so Alys will be there too," he says quietly.
"You also want me to wear a T-shirt with your last name on it and carry signs with your name on it like in the movies?"
He lets out a laugh.
"I'd actually love to see that," he says more excited than before.
"Aemond, I-I really don't know how to act at that kind of thing. I don't even know if I'll do it right...and if it looks too forced?"
And then there he again takes advantage of everyone watching you to place his hand over yours.
"Listen, there's no right or wrong way to do it. Just be yourself. There are no exaggerated expectations and it's not about impressing anyone, least of all me. I just want you to be there and let's have a good time together. Also at the party."
"Wait, what?" you inquire, "There's going to be a party after the game?"
"Hmm," he nods, "At my friend's house, you know...for celebration when we win."
"And if you don't win?"
"Even so, the party will be held," he says with a shrug, "A way to lift our spirits and better prepare us for the next game."
Of course, typical.
"And if I don't go to the party?" you try to persuade him with a worried expression.
"Y/N," he tells you with a serious look, "Remember our contract?"
"You're seriously bringing that to this?" you reproach him.
"Yes because it's in the contract," he tells you with a playful look, making it clear that he won't let you get off that easy.
And you sigh with resignation.
"But I don't think—
"Come on, Y/N. It'll be fun," he tries to encourage you, "And if at any point you feel uncomfortable, I promise we'll leave. What do you say? Sounds good?"
And even with the discomfort through your body, you nod, since you know there's no way around it.
"Fine," you murmur.
Aemond nods with a small smile.
"I'm sure it'll be fun, you'll see."
Tumblr media
The rest of the week is spent with the stares and whispers intensifying whenever you and Aemond are seen together in the hallways or anywhere in the school.
Even the stares are not discreet, boys and girls stop in their conversations to stare at you as you walk by and when you move on to your respective classes, the attention seems to follow you, also in the cafeteria, when you and Aemond enjoy your lunches together, everyone stares at you.
It becomes annoying and also overwhelming for you, as you not only deal with the stares of all the students, but you especially deal with the stares of Alys Rivers and that of all her friends.
They are like hawks looking to melt the back of your head with every death stare. You feel like you're the prey and you don't doubt that they must surely say horrible things about you.
But honestly, Aemond has somehow helped you endure it.
In the cafeteria you are not alone, as you follow his idea of sitting at the table with him and his friends, who turn out to be very nice and funny, so their occurrences make you feel more comfortable during the whole break and lunch, forgetting for a moment about the stares and whispers.
Also Aemond never takes his hands off you, wanting to hug you and hold your hand all the time, wanting to make the relationship look as genuine as possible, this also distracting you.
And in those moments you just realize how you really hate being the center of attention, especially since the school seems to be watching your every move.
And you and Aemond couldn't agree more on the huge commotion you both have caused.
When the weekend finally arrives just as quickly as the day the match will take place, where you immediately decide to ask Alysanne for help getting ready, since you don't have a clue how to do it and make it look good.
Your dad is still at work, so you and Alysanne in your room make as much noise as you want, while she picks out your makeup and you put on some black jeans and the dark blue with white team shirt you borrowed from Aemond with his last name and player number printed on it.
And Alysanne, in her friendly and honest spirit, is excited to help.
"It looks great on you," she comments as she watches you adjust your shirt so it's not baggy, "Although I honestly don't understand why people like to attend these types of games. It's too boring for me."
"Yeah, for me too, but nothing I wouldn't do for Aemond," you mention like the girlfriend in love you supposedly are with him.
"Now come here."
You take a seat and she stands up, instantly helping you place Aemond's initials with blue paint on each of your cheeks, AT, while you finish touching up the rest of your makeup and also your hairstyle.
And when you're both done, Alysanne has something else for you.
"Now you're missing this," she announces, taking from her backpack something.
And when she holds it out to you, you confusedly take a cheerleader pom-pom.
"And what's this for?"
"What do you mean, what for? To support your boyfriend, obviously," she says incredulously, "I have one too," she announces proudly, taking another from her backpack.
"And where did you get them?" you ask inspecting it in your hand.
"I stole them from a girl who's on the cheerleading squad. I don't like her so I said, why not?"
You look at her still confused for a few moments, especially after that statement, but you decide not to give the matter any more thought and focus on what really matters, which in fact is already too much for your head.
So ready, you observe yourself in the mirror.
"I look like an idiot," you say as you look at yourself, "I've never done this before."
Alysanne laughs softly.
"Oh, dear, that's because you're an idiot in love. And also because it's the things love makes you do."
But you're not really in love with Aemond and that makes this whole thing even harder.
And that not being enough, she teaches you some pom-pom waving moves and suggests some simple cheers to cheer on the team and Aemond more than anything else. And even though you shouldn't, you can't help yourself and take a good few minutes practicing all that.
And finally you both leave your house in the direction of the school.
You've never been to one of these games before either, so when you and Alysanne arrive, the lacrosse field is full of energy and excitement as you both find seats in the stands.
The truth is you know absolutely nothing about how lacrosse works, it was never something you were interested in but if Aemond is now your 'boyfriend', you know you'll have to pay attention.
So in the meantime you do what everyone else does, like clapping and... nothing else.
"Girl, what are you doing? You're supposed to be cheering for your boyfriend!"
Alysanne yells at you above all the other yelling, shaking her own cheerleading pom-pom with the moves she taught you earlier.
"I know but I feel... embarrassed," you confess, "I've never done this. Besides... they haven't stopped staring at me since I got here."
"Who?" she asks you confused and attentive.
You point discreetly behind you and Alys along with her group of friends are a few seats over from where you stand with Alysanne, who snorts in amusement.
"Please, do they really intimidate you?"
"No," you lie a little, shrugging, "I just don't like that they're looking at me like they're going to kill me at every turn."
When you arrived they all inspected you from head to toe with questioning, mocking and expectant looks, which ended up destroying your confidence.
But Alysanne nudges you lightly and snorts derisively.
"Ignore them. They are not important. What's important is over there," she points her index finger at the lacrosse field, pointing at Aemond, "You're here to support him, not worry about poisonous snakes. So let's start yelling and supporting your boyfriend with the cheers I taught you, got it?"
You let out a sigh and finally nod with a resigned gesture.
You force yourself to concentrate as much as you can on the match, you also tell yourself that you're here to support Aemond and not to deal with the stares from his ex-girlfriend and her whole group of friends.
As well as you push away the idea in your mind that you feel weird and uncomfortable with that if you shout Aemond's name, everyone will notice and see you.
And you immerse yourself along with Alysanne and everyone else at the game in the charged atmosphere of anticipation and the screams of the crowd mingling with the air.
The whistle blows, marking the start of the match and Aemond and his team are in action as well as the opposing team, all moving nimbly around the field.
The game is fast and dynamic, you don't understand but you watch as Aemond stands out on the field, showing his skill. He and his team perform coordinated movements, well-executed strategies and impressive resistance against the opposing team.
And without paying any more attention to Alys gaze, you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the game, clap and cheer along with Alysanne.
She encourages you to shout his name and that's what you do. You follow Aemond's every move intently, cheering with enthusiasm, jumping in place along with Alysanne, waving the stolen pom-pom along with her and shouting with fervor.
You feel more of Alys and her friends' gaze behind you, but you ignore it completely and concentrate on the game.
And as the game progresses, Aemond begins to notice your animated efforts from a distance. You can't see his face because of his protective helmet but he smiles when he sees you jumping, waving the pom-pom and shouting his name.
Your choice to wear his shirt with his last name and number, his initials painted on your cheeks, and the cheerleader pom-pom, all don't go unnoticed by him. He's honestly flattered and grateful that you actually did it.
And you and Alysanne keep cheering, both of you fully immersing yourselves in the intense and competitive atmosphere.
You don't know how much time passes until finally the referee blows the whistle. And since you don't understand lacrosse at all and had to pretend you knew what was going on, you just know they've won.
Thunderous applause and cheers break out in the crowd, and Aemond and his teammates celebrate on the field.
Alysanne gives you a friendly nudge as you both make your way to the corner of the field where the players are standing. And Aemond, instantly looking for you among all the people, when he finds you, with an expression of triumph trots over to you.
His gaze sweeps over you from head to toe, his smile engulfing you, as he removes his helmet and you smile and clap in his direction.
"You've won!" you exclaim happily.
He doesn't take off his smile and hugs you tightly, to which you reciprocate, trying to get that 'love' in front of everyone like in the movies of the couple of a boy captain of the team and the cheerleader girl.
You're not a cheerleader with a stolen pom-pom in hand but it's something like that.
"You look amazing," he says in your ear.
You let out a nervous laugh, as you both pull apart and Aemond, subtly seeing that everyone is watching you, keeps his hand on your waist, leans in and leaves a soft kiss on your lips, sealing the victory.
Obviously you can't blame him since everyone is watching and you place your hand on his cheek, reciprocating his kiss as everyone around you continues to celebrate in the stands and on the lacrosse field.
Once you both separate, you just notice more how everyone is watching you and you can't help but be a little embarrassed by this, feeling too many stares on you which in comparison, Aemond doesn't mind at all.
He tells you he's going to go change and talk to his coach, you nod, he leaves a soft kiss on your forehead and trots off back to the field with his teammates and you're left alone.
You hug yourself and look around briefly, then walk over to Alysanne, feeling a little overwhelmed.
And God, maybe this is costing you more than you imagined.
Tumblr media
"You were fantastic, everyone was looking at us," Aemond says excitedly, driving, "And your outfit just made it all the more believable."
"Yeah," you let out a small laugh, "Alys and her whole group of friends kept judging me. But this just further confirms to us the fact that this is working."
He lets out a sigh.
"Alys has always been like that, she always has to judge someone to feel superior. She even did it with me during the time we were dating too."
He says with a disinterested tone and you look at him slightly surprised, not expecting to hear that.
"But if she makes you more uncomfortable to the point that you can't even stand it anymore, please tell me," he tells you more seriously, "She'll be at the party too and I don't plan to leave you alone but I'm telling you... you know, so you won't be surprised."
"I'm sure I can handle it, but yeah, I'll tell you," you tell him softly, nodding.
"Good," he nods too, not taking his eye off the road.
Right now he's driving to his friend's house where the party will be. You invited Alysanne and offered her to come along with you and Aemond, but she told you she's not a fan of parties and in fact she's had enough of the game.
So she ordered an Uber and went home. And you don't blame her. As much as you would have loved for her to have come to help you survive the party, she already helped you a lot before and after the game.
"So you understood the game?"
He asks you, summing up the game conversation, with a smirk. And you let out a snort with a mocking, incredulous look.
"No," you confess, "I don't really know anything about sports. I just know that on that play of yours in the second half it was awesome because everyone was talking about it," you let him know.
He lets out a laugh.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you."
"I just know you were great. I don't know exactly what you were great at but you were great," you say sincerely, "And I was great too, as much as I hate it, but did you see my animated cheer?"
"Yeah, it was amazing," he says just as honestly as you, only more enthusiastic, "But there was something missing from your whole outfit."
You frown.
"What?"
"The sign with my name on it like in the movies," he says and you snort again, as he laughs, "I would have loved to see that."
"One step at a time, Captain. It was already too much for me to fulfill my role as a cheerleader girlfriend supporting her boyfriend."
"I really enjoyed it," he says, watching you for a moment with complicity.
"As long as there aren't any more games so soon, I think I can handle it."
"And what about the parties?" he teases you.
"Let's correct the contract, because I think I'm only going to accompany you to one party per month. So that will be five parties total during the whole farse, but with this one that makes four."
"Oh yeah? Then I think I'm only going to drive you to school once a month, so that will be five rides total during the whole farse, but since three days have already passed where I've done you the favor, now you only have two left."
"That's not fair!"
"Oh I think it's more than fair."
You both sink into soft laughter and the conversation between the two during the ride is light, talking about the match and the farce more than anything else.
Until finally Aemond arrives in the neighborhood where his friend's house is located and soon enough he parks near the house, where from this distance you hear the music and also see other cars parking and boys along with girls walking down the street heading towards the party.
You let out a sigh as you anticipate all the people already inside the house and how the party must be, as you and Aemond unbuckle your seatbelts.
"Well, are you ready?" he watches you slightly expectantly and with a soft look.
"Promise you really won't leave me alone," you urge him once again, serious.
"I promise," he says honestly, making pinky promise with you, "But here we must be together and I mean really together. Pretend we're crazy about each other. Remember, in places like these, a couple never stops being all over each other, so we have to pretend and pretend real good."
You swallow hard and he gives you a reassuring look, while you take a few seconds and finally nod. You place a softer face and lightly bite the inside of your cheek.
"Yeah, okay, I get it," you say softly, licking your lips.
"I'm not going to leave you alone. I'm going to be with you always," he assures you one last time before getting out of the car.
And you let out a heavy sigh, you get out of the car as well.
The pretending isn't over yet and this time, you're sure you and Aemond are going to take it to the next level. And it's still a lot to process but reluctantly and because you signed a contract, you enter the party together with him.

thank you!!
OF COURSE, I love the idea! Maybe I'll do a part.2 with all the headcanons about how they spent time together! Thanks for the request dear anon! :)
Pretty golden cage;
Pairing: Homelander x fem!super (Ophera as usual) TW: no one, just bit of tension/angst and Homie being an asshole Timeline: season 4 Words count: 3,6k
Tumblr media
You always knew who Ryan was. Homelander's beloved son. Rumors about him were whispered by everyone at Vought Tower, and you had been paying attention over the years. You knew about his powers, about the unfortunate way he came into the world, and how attached Homelander was to him.
You already had your problems, you didn't mean to get close to that too. You never judged Ryan for his choices or his actions, quite the opposite. You felt quite sorry for him.
Trapped in a golden cage, with the suffocating attentions of his father, who continued to demand only perfection from and for him. It happened to you too, at the beginning of your relationship with Homelander. In which you are still trapped with no way out.
You had wondered why he still hadn't insisted on you being Ryan's mother. But that was okay, you didn't want it. Until the day arrived, the day of your official introduction to each others.
"Ryan, theres someone I want you to meet. This is Ophera.''
Ryan glances at you with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty, his eyes tracing the features of your incredibly beautiful face. Made for the spotlight. He's clearly intrigued by your appearance, but also a little intimidated by it.
"H-hi, Ophera."
You can feel the weight of Ryan's gaze on you, and you can sense his nervousness at finally meeting you. The situation definitely feels a bit bizarre, considering your complicated relationship with his father. You glance briefly at Homelander, unsure of how to approach this interaction.
He stands aside, watching you and his son, with a hint of trepidation. He seems just as uncertain about how you two will interact. He silently observes your reaction and lets you respond to him.
You can't deny it to yourself, one misstep with the little boy and everything is over for you. But you've never been good with children, and you know her father's expectations are very high. He will not admit any mistakes or flaws.
Trying to break the ice, Ryan smiles at you, even though is a slightly wobbly smile, and asks a question.
"So, you're... the singer, right? I saw you on tv. And my dad speak a lot about you and your music."
His words surprise you a little. You're not used to hearing Homelander talking about you, at least positively. You try to find the right words to respond to his comment with a gentle smile.
"Yes, It's me. And I am surprised that your father talks about me to you. Did he say something nice?" you can't help but wonder what else he's told him.
"Yeah. He said your singing voice is really beautiful and that you have a lot of fans. He also said you can control some kinds of metal and you're really strong. He's lucky to have a woman like you to his side."
''Oh, uhm, yeah-- yes...he's right.''
The situation becomes more and more weird for you, you don't know what the point of the situation is, or because Homelander wanted you to meet Ryan. Out of courtesy or for some other strange reason?
As the conversation continues, you can't shake off the feeling that there's a deeper meaning behind this meeting. Homelander's intentions are unclear and there's definitely something else behind this introduction. He seems to be carefully watching your every interaction with his son, analyzing your reactions and responses.
Ryan seems to be more at ease now, and his nervousness begins to fade away while he walk with you around the room and making you sit beside him on the sofa. But there is still silence between you, you don't know what to talk about.
You take a deep breath and decide that you have to improvise, you lean towards the boy and pretend to whisper something to him, in an gentle and funny way.
''I know it's hard for you too, I understand, it's embarrassing to have to interact like this...but let's say something, anything, so your dad will be happy and he let's us go back to our business.''
Ryan looks at you with a mixture of curiosity and relief. He seems a bit surprised by your casual and friendly approach, but he clearly appreciates it. He lowers his voice too and responds in a whisper.
"Yeah, it's a bit weird. My dad's been talking about you a lot, but I didn't know what to say or what to ask you…"
Homelander, noticing Ryan's relaxed expression and your attempt to break the ice, finally decides to join the conversation. His voice is light, friendly sarcastic.
"I can't believe you're talking about me behind my back.'' he says with a hint of faux-offended tone in his voice. He walks over to where you and his son are sitting, takes a seat on the armchair opposite the sofa.
''Come on, you can ask her whatever you want, she don't bite.''
"Okay, then...um..."
He takes a moment, clearly thinking of a question to ask. He glances at you, then back at his father. It's evident that he's not sure what kind of question will please his dad.
Seeing how Ryan is in difficulty, you decide to take the reins of the situation.
''Listen, Homelander. I really appreciate you wanting me to meet your son...it's really cute from you. And he seems a good little boy. But I don't understand what's happening and why I am here today.''
"Ah, always to the point, aren't you?" he replies, a note of sarcasm in his voice.
"I just want to introduce my son to the woman I care about."
You don't believe his sweet words, you know he only does it to appear like a good person in front of his son. But you can't expose him, you don't want to, you're just trying to understand what's your role is in this show.
Homelander notices the skepticism on your face, but he remains cool and composed.
"Oh, come on! Can't I be a loving father who wants his son to meet the woman he's dating?"
The word "dating" stings you as soon as it crosses his lips. It's not true, you're not actually dating, not in the traditional understanding of the term. Ryan looks between you and his father, a bit perplexed by the interaction. The boy's clearly not used to this dynamic.
Any other woman would have acted differently, she would have thrown herself into cuddling and giving affecction to the boy without hesitation. Even just for fear of not pleasing his father. But you don't have this instinct. The maternal instinct has never belonged to you. And now you feel the weight of it, you really want to help Ryan get out from this situation, but you are in difficult too. And all your stage audacity seems to vanish in front of a child.
''Sure, sure you can...I wonder why you didn't introduce us sooner.''
Homelander gives a little laugh, enjoying your sarcastic response.
"Who knows..." he replies nonchalant. "I guess I just wanted to wait for the right moment. But now, here we are. And I think Ryan already likes you."
Ryan, who has been quietly following the conversation, nods in agreement. He doesn't seem entirely convinced or comfortable in the situation, his eyes are searching for yours. Subconsciously hoping that you can show more humanity than all the other supers he's met so far.
"Yeah, you're... cool. I listened to your song, I like them."
''Oh, and what's your favourite?---'' you are about to answer to him, finally with a normal kind of conversation, but you are interrupted.
"See? Looks like you've got a new fan!" Homelander gets up from the armchair, walking over to stand behind you on the sofa. His hand rests possessively on your shoulder.
"Isn't she great?" he asks, looking down at you with a hint of malice in his eyes. "She's smart, talented, and beautiful. The perfect woman."
Ryan nods again, trying to look enthusiastic, but something in his expression seems forced.
You can't tolerate this, you sense Ryan's anxiety constantly. You and him are trapped in the same cage. Then you then turn to Homelander and give him a seemingly kind smile, trying to you try to change the subject. You're going to put up with it for the little boy's sake.
''Seems pretty clear that I've been approved.''
Homelander grins, satisfied with your response. He gives your shoulder a light, almost condescending little pat.
"Oh, definitely approved." he says, the possessive hint in his tone still there. "He's a smart kid, he knows a good person when he sees one."
Ryan looks at you from across the room, trying to gauge your reaction. He can sense that you're trying to make things better, but the atmosphere in the room is still a bit awkward.
"Buddy, why don't you ask her to sing a little something for us?" Homelander ask, clearly intending not to let the moment end.
The little one looks surprised by the imprompt request. He glances briefly at you, clearly hesitant about the idea. Seeing his discomfort, you give him a reassuring look, as if to tell that you can handle it. At least that would have been a good moment.
''I don't know dad, maybe she doesn't want to, maybe she's tired...''
''Nah. It's just a little song, it won't hurt her, will it?" Homelander's expression hardens slightly, his tone becoming sarcastic.
"Um…can you sing something for us…please?"
''What's your favourite song of mine Ryan? I'd love to sing for you.'' you gently said to Ryan, leaning in his direction. Trying your best to create a serene moment out of this tense situation. He seems grateful for your attempt to divert the situation from his father's command to sing.
"I like your cover of I Can't Help Falling in Love. Could you sing that?''
You nod slightly, smiling gently at Ryan. ''Great choice.''
You take a moment to gather your thoughts, and then start to hum to warm up a little. Then, taking a deep breath, you begin to sing the opening notes, your eyes closing for a moment as you surrender to the music.
''Wise men say only fools rush in. But I can't help falling in love with you. Shall I stay? Would it be a sin?''
As you begin to sing, both find themselves mesmerized by your voice. Even Homelander, who has heard you countless times before, is once again taken aback by the power and emotion you infuse in your voice. Ryan, seems to forget the situation he's in and the tension in the air. He leans slightly forward, his eyes wide open, listening to your voice filling the room.
''Darling, so it goes. Some things are meant to be. Take my hand, take my whole life, too. For I can't help falling in love with you.''
The lyrics of the song seem to echo even more in that room. You're not just singing, you're communicating in the best way you know.
The last few notes of your singing trail off in the air, as the room falls into a moment of reverent silence. Your eyes open, and you look at Ryan, who seems completely enraptured by your voice.
''Wo-hoow! Your voice live is a thousand times more beautiful than on TV.'' the boy lets out a spontaneous and sincere comment, and you find yourself laughing softly, sincerely, this time.
''You're too cute little one, I'm happy you appreciate my version of this song.''
''It's awesome, you're awesome! I'd like to see you live one day, the whole show!''
''Whenever you want kid, I'll get you a VIP pass to have the best seat in the whole stadium.''
''Really?? You're not joking right?''
''Dinner with the celebrity and Meet and Greet included.'' you can't help but gently indulge him, his spontaneity and his desire to escape from routine.
Ryan's eyes light up at the proposition and he felt comfortable continuing the conversation with a genuinely happy expression on his face. It's obvious that this little exchange between you two has lifted his spirits.
Homelander, on the other hand, seems a little taken aback by the interaction. He's not used to see you so... genuine and soft with someone. He claps his hands, disrupting the moment of calm. As if needing to regain some control.
''What a lovely bonding time we had here. You are making me really happy.''
You feel slightly irritated by his sudden interruption. You are still smiling, but now it's a little forced. Your eyes dart towards him, and your expression seems to say "Really? Just when something good was happening, you have to ruin it?"
Nevertheless, your years of experience with the Vought Company and your work as a celebrity have taught you the art of masking your true feelings. So, you don't let your annoyance shine through too much, at least not in front of Ryan.
Homelander, noticing the change in your expression, seems to realize that he might have intervened at the wrong time. He didn't really mean to interrupt the bonding moment between you and Ryan, but rather, he felt a little left out.
As if he wanted to say: "Hey, look at me. I want to be part of this, too."
His sudden intervention seems to be driven more by a need to be acknowledged and included than by a desire to intentionally ruin the situation. Despite the fact that you've been with him for years, and you know he's a narcissistic asshole, the current moment seems to reveal a slightly different aspect of him.
As you notice the hint of vulnerability in Homelander's eyes, your irritation slightly lessens. You know him too well, and you can tell when he's faking his usual arrogant confidence and when he genuinely feels left out.
It's almost comical how someone as powerful and imposing as him can feel left out.
You're trying to maintain your composure, to keep your guard up, but a part of you can't help but find him a bit... cute, in this moment of uncharacteristic vulnerability.
''Don't worry big boy, I have a VIP pass for you too.'' you say laughing, looking at Ryan, as If you're seeking his support after making a little joke at his father.
Ryan can't help but chuckle at your little comment. He looks up at his father, clearly amused to see him taken aback by your joke. Homelander glares at you for a moment, pretending to be annoyed, but there's a twinkle in his eye, as if he secretly enjoys the little banter.
"Yeah, right, very funny... I guess I'll need that front row seat. Like I need your permission to have one.''
''Ooh, someone's getting defensive now, are we?'' you tease.
Ryan laughs even more, enjoying this whole situation. You can tell that the boy has been craving for some lighthearted moments, considering what he's gone through.
"Well, to be fair, it's good to have options, right dad? You can't always rely on your superpowers to grab the best seat."
You and Ryan share a knowing glance, a silent alliance between you.
"Oh, shut it, you two. I'm the one taking care of the both of you, you should be grateful." he says, his tone carrying no real threat.
Slowly the atmosphere becomes pleasant for all three, and so you spend an hour together. The conversation gradually shifts from teasing banter to more casual topics. Homelander eventually starts to relax a bit, his typical guard lowering. Ryan seems to genuinely enjoy the time spent with both of you, and the boy's innocent and endearing presence helps to ease the tension that sometimes exists between you and Homelander.
As the sun begins to set and the shadows grow longer, the day starts to wind down. The room is bathed in the soft, golden light of the evening, creating a cozy atmosphere.
As the evening progresses, you slowly start to realize that you're actually enjoying yourself. Spending time with Ryan, feels strangely...comfortable. Your initial plan of tolerating a child just for Homelander's sake is slowly replaced by the realization that this kid is not so bad after all. You find yourself smiling easily, genuinely enjoying the little exchanges.
The realization is a bit unsettling to you. It's not that you're used to seeing yourself as a particularly warm and compassionate person. You can't help but question your own prejudices and assumptions about yourself. Perhaps, beneath the hardened persona that you've built up over the years, there's a softer side to you that you forgot.
As the last rays of sunlight disappear and the night sky takes over.
''Ryan, you should get some rest. It's late."
''What? Why now? I was showing Ophera my movie collections!'' the boy protests, making you laugh.
''No arguing. Come on, bedtime." Homelander's tone is firm but gentle, and you see Ryan clearly not happy to have to end the fun.
''I'm not a child dad, I mean, I can stay awake more...''
You approach him and put a hand on his back with kindness, then you try to convince him with a more delicate but still original approach.
''Hey Ryan, listen to me, I suppose we're way past your bedtime. And pretty boy need rest to stay pretty. You don't want to wake up tomorrow with dark circles under your eyes, do you?''
"I guess you're right... I don't want to look like a zombie tomorrow." he end the argument with a little joke.
You chuckle with a hint of satisfaction at Ryan's response. Seeing how the boy accepted your words, makes you glad that you didn't have to rely on Homelander's authoritative approach to get him to comply.
''Very well. Now, go and get some beauty sleep.''
He took all of his stuff and then he wave a cute goodbye to you and Homelander before heading off to his room. As the sound of his footsteps slowly fades away, there's a moment of silence between you two.
Time for the showdown.
"Well, isn't this touching. My two favorite people… getting along so well."
You turn to face Homelander, raising an eyebrow at his comment and becoming serious again, like everytimes he try and succeed to manipulate you.
"I'm not doing this for you.''
"Is that so? Funny, I thought you hated children. Yet here you are… playing the role of a loving mother.” he teases.
The moment the word mother leaves his mouth, you can't help but visibly tense up. Your eyes narrow and your jaw clenches, a mix of anger and discomfort showing on your face. Being referred to as a “mother” triggers a deep-seated anxiety within you, stirring up memories and fears that you've worked hard to suppress. The word carries a weight that you don’t want to associate with yourself.
You take a deep breath, trying your best to conceal the inner turmoil that his words have stirred up. It's ironic that he should use that word, given the fact that you, in your mind, you’ve never seen yourself as a motherly type. It feels like a cruel mockery, a reminder of something that you have never been taught and that sadly you will never be able to understand.
''Don't you dare. I know your plan, and no, I'm not going to play the role of a mother for him. Being your partner causes me enough stress.''
He sees the reaction that the word mother elicits from you and he smirks, realizing that he has found a vulnerable spot.
"Don't be so tensed, sweetheart..." he steps closer to you, a hint of mischief in his eyes, enjoying the fact that he's managed to get under your skin.
"You know, Ryan needs a mother figure in his life. Someone who can guide him, care for him. You could be that person. I know you're capable of it, deep down.”
"Oh, spare me the sentimental crap." you snap, your voice filled with irritation and defiance. You know he's trying to manipulate you, to make you feel guilty for not wanting to be what the little boy needs.
"Don't you dare assume you know what I'm capable of. I have my own duties and responsibilities. Being a motherly figure for your kid wasn't part of the deal..."
"You may deny it, but I can see the way you interacted with the boy. You connected with him, in your own unique way. And it would be really cruel from you to deprive him of a mother's love right now that he's bonding with you.''
He's trying to make you feel guilty, and oh God, he's succeeding.
His words touch a nerve, making you inwardly squirm, of anger and guilt inside you. You know he's trying to play on your emotions and make you feel responsible for depriving Ryan of something he needs.
"Besides, think about it as an opportunity," Homelander continues his manipulation, moving even closer to you, his voice becoming softer, his eyes meeting yours.
"The perfect family picture, you and me and Ryan.''
The thought of having a "perfect family picture'' with Homelander and Ryan both disgusts you and scares you, yet a small part of you secretly yearns for the sense of belonging and family that's been missing in your life.
''No, I can't...absolutely not.''
''I know you can be that for him. I saw it with my own eyes. And you're going to be. Or else..." there's a sinister undertone in his chuckle.
''Or else what?'' you answer, facing him, feeling trapped again, without any free will.
''Oh, sweetheart, you don't wanna find out.'' he concluded, slowly crawling with his hand gripping lightly your throat, forcing you to look up at him.
Reminding you once again, that you're the celebrity, but he's the one who directs every show, every chapter of your life.

My Hero Academia AU: Living Ghost
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A little bit different than my other comics; I've never done a time lapse before.
In the Ambush Simulation notes, I mentioned that Dabi has a canon divergence in this AU where he returned home after the three years he was missing/presumed dead, but nothing in the household changed and he was still an unhinged mess.  This is the AU comic behind ‘unhinged mess’ and the partial reasoning behind his antagonistic behavior in The Summer Camp Ambush Simulation.
All right, so canonically Dabi is a walking, half-dead, Lovecraftian nightmare of mental and physical health issues who's keeping himself going through sheer willpower/hatred.  Ujiko says that after waking up from the three year coma, he should not have survived longer than a month as a result of the injuries he sustained from the fire.  So even in an AU where he was reunited with his family after the fact, that’s still the reality of his situation.
Enter Endeavor: In this scenario, at that point in his character arc, I think he would have retreated back into his usual pattern of refusing to face the issue. The Todoroki family got Touya back, but they also learned that he wouldn't be with them long. If a missing/presumed dead child turns up after three years, they're immediately going to a hospital to establish mental and physical condition, so the health issues resulting from the fire would have been discovered almost immediately.
From the point of view of Endeavor, Touya's return was cause for celebration and was initially viewed as a second chance/an opportunity to repair some of the damage he'd already done to his family...but then the severity of Touya's prognosis becomes apparent and they're told he has weeks to live. In Ambush Simulation, Endeavor takes the coward’s way out and leaves the problem for everyone else to deal with so he doesn't have to face Touya.  He told himself it was a way of not getting attached and so on, and no matter how much he tries to deny it, the avoidance is his guilty conscious.
The same goes for Rei. She refused to see Touya after he came back just so she wouldn't have to say goodbye to him a second time.
But Touya doesn't die.
Despite what the doctors predicted, he survives '...albeit with complications, various emergencies, experimental treatments to delay the inevitable, no clear answer on how the hell he was still breathing, and no promises that he would ever live a full life...' And now, just like in canon, he has 7-8 years of simmering resentment with the trauma of a near-death experience, the realization of having lost three years of his life due to the coma, the fallout of terminal health, and the crushing disappointment of what should have been a heartfelt reunion turned into a second abandonment.
In this AU as a vigilante, Touya has the Pandora’s Box of being an outrageous public menace and a potential family embarrassment because he figured out the only time his father pays any attention to him is when he’s ‘acting out’ and he decided he’d rather be the problem child than the invisible child.  And unfortunately, this mentality has also ruined his relationship with Natsuo.
In some respect, canon is a happier outcome for Touya because at least in canon, the poor bastard has a purpose instead of reduced to a living ghost.
The piano panels are him rehabilitating his hands.  Technically after a three year coma, he should not have been walking and talking as quickly as he did.  Not with that kind of atrophy.  So I’m balancing that inaccuracy out with the headcanon his fine motor skills were likely completely ruined.
Plus, if your life is a train wreck, have at least one positive hobby.

Why does Monkey live with Leah and not her own family?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— monkey's past | buddy & monkey: double the trouble
despite her wild and chaotic antics, the girl's background is actually pretty sad and she doesn't like to talk much about it.
the nightmares from monkey's past at night haunt her sometimes.
monkey always considered her relationship with her parents her father to be challenging and hard, while the relationship with her mother is pretty much non-exsistant.
she finds it hard to talk about them things.
her mother abandoned her only child when she was little, no explanation - one day monkey woke up and the women had fled.
there was no goodbye, no note, nothing.
the resentment for the women was still is there and whenever monkey is asked about her mother, she's always quick to drop the subject.
the team have learned that the hard way in the past.
"my mother is dead,"
"is she really?"
"no, but... well, she might as well be,"
monkey's relationship with her father was complicated to say the least, the man had to raise her alone when his wife walked out on them when monkey was just shy of 2 for a whole new family.
her father had a few various different coping mechanisms - throwing himself into his work and drinking, sometimes even drugs.
the man definitely did have a temper and the scars on monkey's back prove it, unfortunately.
"i'm sorry dad,"
"sorry isn't good enough. you should know better!"
"dad,"
"your nothing but a disappointment, your mother had the right idea to leave you when she did. get out of my sight, now!"
if the man wasn't passed out on the sofa drunk or lashing out at his daughter with his fists, he was throwing himself into his work.
monkey was completely neglected and alone, but he was clever and always made it seem like he was the caring doting father, so he was to never get caught out.
monkey never got to escape her fathers' clutches until she was 16
when arsenal scouted monkey, the man was more than happy enough to sign the papers and all but washed his hands off her.
"i've washed my hands off her, shes' your problem now."
there was never any contact from that day.
not even on birthday or christmases.
monkey should have felt a sense of freedom, but instead she was lost.
the man who had so much hatred for his daughter and all she wanted craved was his approval.
monkey has always been a life-long gooner, joining the academy when she turned 8 and it felt like a dream come true, her dad was a gooner as well - it's in her blood, she lives and breathes arsenal.
being only 16 when she signed, she was taken under the wing of the older girls, more so specifically leah who she moved in with, along with kim, the two she formed a pretty close bond with.
"your my person, you both are. i love you."
"we've always got your back here, monkey."
"and your never alone, you have family here."
"we love you too, menace."
it was at the age of 18 when monkey found out her dad died, not that it made any difference at all.
"ha, well guess that i really am an orphan now, right?"
"monkey,"
"was it the drinking or drugs that killed him? it was only a matter of time,"
after all, monkey thinks that dark humor is the way to make things better.
it's become her coping mechanism.
"should i care? he didn't care about me when i was alive, why should i care about him when he's dead?"
it's safe to say that monkey's past is pretty haunting to her, but with the stability that she has around her, its' better now she has the arsenal girls to look out for her.
monkey has her chosen family, she is protected and loved by all of the older girls, despite how much of a menace she can be at times.
I didn't plan for this to be so sad, but here we go. feel free to continue to send me hc's for this little world i'm creating!

Growing Pains - I
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're forced to come with during nationals due to your father being the lead coach of the team. You and Lottie have just had a falling out of sorts, and then, the plane crashes. Your father dies, and now you must explore the new dynamics between your brothers, you, and Lottie.
fem!martinez!reader (she/her pronouns for reader, reader is referred to as travis & javi’s sister and a girl at some point i think), angst with a hopeful ending ! part 1 of 2
link to part 2 here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sighed, wringing your hands and shifting nervously from foot to foot. It was extremely early in the morning, and you were at the airport instead of lying comfortably in bed. Your father, the lead coach of your school’s girls’ soccer team, the Yellowjackets, had forced you to come along on this trip. Your relationship with your father was strained, to say the least. His constant pressure for you to join the team only added to the tension. Your father had been asking you about joining the team since you made it to high school. Being a year younger than most of the team, only a junior, you still had a year to join. This trip was his final attempt at recruiting you. You’re almost certain the only reason he’s bringing your brothers is to avoid raising suspicion.
You could always bitch to Travis about how your dad wouldn’t leave you be about the team, the two of you not discreet about your distaste for the man when behind closed doors. You and Travis were closer in age, so naturally, you two were more alike. It also helped that both of you only seemed to be able to piss your father off. It was clear to you both that neither of you was the favorite, something you bonded over at a young age.
You would make sure to find something positive about the trip to talk about with Javi, not wanting the boy to be bored or lonely. You loved him, truly, even if he could be annoying at times. You and Javi were closer than he and Travis, you were sure, but you couldn’t help but worry he felt left out by you two.
This trip was only made worse because she was going to be here. Lottie Matthews. You and Lottie had a rather…complicated relationship. You were forced to come to many of the team’s practices and games, Coach Martinez’s way of attempting to kindle a love of the sport in you. You never really were one for sports. But, not wanting to upset him, you always tagged along, helping set up equipment or other vague ways of participating without trying out. Lottie had been among the first to come up to you on the team. Despite your initial reluctance, you couldn't deny that something about her drew you in.
You two formed a quick friendship that eventually led to more. It started as a way to piss off your fathers, in all honesty. Lottie’s dad was one of the main funders of the team, and your dad was, obviously, the coach. You had shared your hatred for the men who called themselves your family. And so, the two of you figured out a way that you could anger them.
Well. Sort of.
You see, you can’t exactly walk up to your disgruntled parents and say, “Hey! I’m hooking up with a girl!” Especially not in 1996 Wiskayok. Instead, it satisfied you both enough to know you were doing something forbidden, something that the two would loathe. And so, you two had started messing around.
But then, you made the terrible mistake of actually starting to like Lottie. It went so far beyond ‘sorta-friend that I used to piss my dad off in my head.’ You loved her. And you told her as much. She had looked at you wide-eyed and muttered that she needed to go. The two of you hadn't spoken since, and the pain of her rejection still lingers in your heart.
You really didn’t want to be here, but your father wouldn’t take no for an answer. Your face formed a grimace upon walking past Lottie. She offered a smile; you don’t see her frown as you walk past, not even acknowledging her. Her smile, once a source of comfort, now only serves as a painful reminder of what once was.
Once you board the plane, Javi tries to sit next to Travis, and you frown, seeing him deny the boy. You’re about to tell him to behave when you notice Lottie sitting ahead. Travis is side-eyeing you, indicating that he’s noticed. Ah, so that’s why. Travis had known about the two of you having to deal with your lovesick ramblings. He had been a tremendous help ever since what happened between you two, always around to get your mind off things. You nod at him thankfully and plop down right next to him. He pretends to be annoyed, and you pretend to tell him you don’t care. You look at Javi sitting by himself. He seems all right; he's just a bit annoyed with Travis. He notices you looking, and you smile at him, grin widening when he waves and smiles back. Your father will likely sit by him when it's time to take off.
You turn back to Travis, who’s looking at you with a grimace. Your father stops by, telling you both to be on your best behavior. Then, he’s sitting by Javi, looking out the window and nodding to whatever the younger boy says. You fall asleep to the sound of Travis grumbling about your father, your head comfortably resting on his shoulder.
You wake to screaming. Bleary-eyed from sleep and panic steadily rising from the sounds you hear, you look around in shock. Travis looks around incredulously, his body pushed up against the seat. He has a protective arm in front of you to keep you from falling forward.
You look around helplessly. You notice your father running from person to person, ensuring they’re buckled and wearing their masks. You shout for him, but over the commotion, he doesn’t seem to notice. Looking back, you notice Javi is buckled and wearing his oxygen mask. You almost sigh in relief at seeing that he’s alright, at least for now. But your father, your stupid, stupid father, is still checking on all the girls. The plane hits a bump, and he almost flies out. You rise from your seat despite Travis’ fearful protests.
You reach your dad, grab his arm, and pull him back towards the seats. Fate has another idea, however, as the plane hits another bump, and the two of you fly out of the plane.
You awake for the second time in what appears to be a tree. You're looking around, scared out of your mind, when you notice it—the large branch protruding from your stomach and the sight of a horrifically broken arm. You grimace, trying your hardest to refrain from crying out in pain.
Then, you see him. Your father is in a tree not too far away from you, his body bloodied and mangled. You choke on your blood and vomit. You're scared. So, so afraid. Your father is likely dead; you just were in a plane crash, and you were stuck in a tree. So, you do the only thing you can think of. You scream.
You're sobbing, and suddenly, your name is being called. You look around, vision blurring. You can hear arguing and the sounds of people crying. You know that you’re dying. Suddenly, you hear your brothers. Javi and Travis. You feel sick to your stomach, but the idea of them coming for you is so comforting you can’t help but indulge your selfish wants. You call out for them tiredly.
The last thing you see before you pass out is what looks like Travis scaling the tree you’re in, coming to try and help you.
The third time you wake up, you are not sure you’re alive. The noise has died down, and an awkward, morose silence hangs thick in the air. If it weren’t for the horrible ache in both your shoulder and abdomen, you would think it was all just a bad dream.
But there was no denying it. Your father was dead. You were injured. God only knows how many other survivors there were in the plane crash.
You try to raise your head to analyze your surroundings. Your vision blurs, and you wince in pain. Alright. No sitting up, then. Your whole body hurts, and you want even a semblance of normalcy, so you cry out for your brothers.
“...Travis..? Javi?” you croak, “Where are you?”
There was faint murmuring around you before, along with a fire crackling. Now, however, the voices have paused. You groan in pain, and soon, you hear shuffling.
The last person you want to see hovers above you, looking down with concern. She calls your name happily, drops to her knees, and hugs you. You're too tired to push her away or even to be upset, really.
“...Lott...? Where…where are my brothers…?”
Someone else is beside you instantly, grabbing your hand in an iron grip and sobbing uncontrollably. It’s Javi. It's hard to distinguish what he's saying between his gasps for air. All you can hear is an incoherent string of apologies.
Your arm feels…weird. You must say this aloud because Lottie bites her lip anxiously, and her eyes dart down to the side you’re sure is broken. Javi wails louder.
You know you shouldn’t have looked. You were expecting to see your arm broken, of course, as opposed to the absence of a limb that you now had. You faintly hear Lottie telling you not to look and trying to hold your head back, but the damage has already been done. Your arm has been hacked off.
You do the only thing you feel like you remember how to do.
You scream.
Adjusting to one arm, along with a rather infected-looking stomach injury, was tough. It was even more challenging when you were trapped in the middle of nowhere with a group of girls you barely knew who kept whispering about how sorry they were for you whenever they thought you weren’t listening. You and Travis had hardly spoken since the crash. You’d always been close, but now? It felt like you were worlds apart. Javi was doing his best to stay strong, but it was apparent how much everything was wearing on him. Not to mention how pissy Travis had been with him lately…
You hadn’t even wanted to come on this stupid trip. And now, here you were, trapped with a bunch of virtual strangers who kept giving you their ill-timed condolences. Your older brother was constantly terrorizing your younger brother, barely speaking to you in the process. Great!
You had barely spoken to any of the girls. The last thing you were sure you’d said out loud was, “Oh, fuck you,” in response to Lottie asking the other girls, “Who died and made Travis king of snacks?” like an idiot. She flinched as soon as you said it, but you could honestly care less. You were tired and in pain, and she was the last person you wanted to be around.
Lottie kept trying to get you alone to talk afterward, but you stayed glued to Travis and Javi’s sides. You didn’t want to talk to her. Didn’t want to deal with anything. Burying the victims of the crash was a nightmare. You nearly refused to participate. You ended up helping with the team members but left your father to the others. You couldn’t look at him without a pit forming in your stomach.
When it came time to relocate, you voted for the change of scenery. You couldn’t stand to sleep so close to your dad’s grave and scene of death every night. Couldn’t stand to be near where you almost died yourself. And so, you all went to the lake.
The hike was awful. Hot, buggy, and filled with rotting animal carcasses. Not to mention that you had lost a lot of blood before. Misty made you walk between Travis and Javi so they could help you if you felt faint. You insisted on walking on your own, however. She looked like she wanted to argue, but you simply reminded her that she cut your fucking arm off. The least she could do was give you some bodily autonomy.
When you reached the lake, you decided submerging your body wouldn’t be the greatest idea. After all, you couldn’t exactly swim the way you were used to. So you sighed and sat at the beach. You overhear one of the girls talking about how Travis is “kinda hot,” and you nearly gag. How can they be so carefree when you all worked together just days ago to bury people? You glare at her, and she seems to notice, shutting up immediately.
When Lottie noticed you alone and moved to talk to you, you relocated next to Misty and Coach Ben. Ben assured Misty that he would be okay with your company, convincing her to enjoy the water a bit. She hesitantly agreed.
“Hey,” he greeted once you were alone. You nodded in acknowledgment.
“I’m uh- I’m sorry about-”
“Don’t,” you warned, tone laced with venom. He shuts his mouth quickly after that, nodding silently.
Finding the cabin was a godsend. Having shelter instead of sleeping under the stars, where any animal could find and attack you? It was a much-needed change.
You notice Lottie everywhere. It's hard not to when you’re stranded somewhere with her and the rest of the team. She’s been acting…strange. More awkward and anxious than usual. You want to ask her if she’s okay, but you know that isn't your place. Not anymore. You still love her, but you’re angry; you’re sure she doesn’t care much about you, so the gesture would weird her out more than anything.
On the first night of the cabin, Lottie nearly refuses to enter. You overhear her talking to Taissa about how this place has “a bad vibe” and that she’s scared. You want to comfort her, but Tai simply refutes her statement and drags her inside. You eye her wearily as she sits down on the floor. She’s uncomfortable; that much is crystal clear.
When everyone goes to lie down, she looks at you sadly. She ends up setting her makeshift bed up next to Nat instead of near where she assumes you’ll be sleeping: next to Javi and Travis. You groan internally at her wounded deer look and pick up your pillow and blanket, setting them down by her. She looks up at you in alarm, opening and closing her mouth a few times, but never says anything.
Later that night, when everyone is asleep, you hear her shuffling around. You sigh, sitting up and tapping her shoulder. She jumps a bit, eyes flying open, but relaxes, realizing it’s only you.
“You…uhm, you okay?” you whisper nervously, avoiding eye contact.
“No,” she says immediately, her voice hushed like your own. You frown at this. “There’s something wrong with this place.”
You raise a brow but nod slowly.
“Okay. Where?”
“What?” she asks, alarmed.
“Where is it wrong? I’ll help you check it out. Maybe then you’ll stop rustling around so much and keeping me up,” you mumble, although you’re sure she sees through your lie. She knows you want to comfort her.
She stands warily, holding out a hand to help you up. You take it, but as soon as you’re up, you drop it like she’s aflame and has burnt you. You navigate through all the girls until you reach the ladder to the attic. She’s right. It does feel rather creepy. But, determined to make her feel better, you consider your options.
“I can’t go up with you,” you start, “Why don’t you just check it out? I’ll be here if there’s- y’know, like, anything weird.”
She nods, climbing the ladder quickly. Minutes pass, and she still hasn't come down. You’ve tried calling her but haven't received a response. Eventually, Taissa comes over, having woken up. You explain what happened, and she nods. She climbs the ladder, and you finally hear Lottie speak.
“I told you.”
After burying yet another body, you all find that you desperately need food. You’re starving, so you must decide who will be the best with the rifle you’ve seen at the cabin. You’ll have to sit this one out, it seems, as you. You know. Only have one arm now.
You’re sitting a bit far away from the rest of the commotion at the ‘shooting range’ you’ve all crafted when it happens. Nat says something to Travis, and he points the gun at her, eyes dark and angry. Your stomach clenches, and you rush over with purpose. Ben scolds him, and when he finally lowers the gun, there’s a cruel look of satisfaction on his face. You wack him so hard in the back of the head he stumbles.
“Stop being such a jackass! You don’t point a fucking gun at someone!”
He’s about to argue, but you give him such a scathing look that he shuts his mouth. What he’s just done must sink in because he looks ashamed. He shoves the gun into Nat’s arms and falls back. There are a few snickers from the other girls, but your look is enough to shut them up. Nat looks extremely shaken up, so you pat her on the shoulder gently. She tenses, looking at you with wide eyes. You nod at her. She nods back, grateful.
She hits all the newly set-up targets over. Nat and Travis have won the shooting competition.
They’re sent off with the rifle. Before they leave, you tell Travis to be careful. He shrugs you off, stalking away when he’s not immediately handed the gun. You sigh, telling Nat to be cautious and apologizing for whatever asshole thing Travis will say next. She smiles at you before rushing to chase after him.
You sigh, watching them disappear into the forest. Someone walks up behind you; as you turn to look, you notice it's Lottie. You wave awkwardly.
“I have to get some firewood. Do you…uhm…do you want to come with..?”
You can’t exactly help. You nod anyway.
The two of you walk over to the log pile. Lottie starts to chop some wood while you sit nearby, casually talking. It's nice, you think, to speak to her again. After all, before your whole relationship fiasco, you were once friends. When she’s done, you’re almost disappointed. You don’t want to stop talking with her, but you don’t exactly have an excuse anymore.
You’re standing awkwardly, about to walk off, when she grabs your wrist and leads you into the forest. You’re a little ways away when she starts speaking again, not answering any of your confused questions of, “Where are we going?” and “What are you doing?”
“We need to talk,” she decides to open with. You furrow your brow.
“Pretty sure we could talk over by the firewood, too.”
“Not about this,” she says, and, okay, your curiosity was officially peaked.
“Okay…?”
“I’m sorry,” she starts, and you instantly cut her off.
“You guys don’t have to keep apologizing about my dad, okay? I- I get it. You feel bad, and-”
“That’s not what I’m apologizing for.”
You're both silent for a minute.
“I’m sorry that I ran away. I should’ve told you that I loved you, too.”
You flinch.
“You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not. I love you, too. I would scream it from the mountaintops if I could. I love you more than anything in the world. I want to be with you. I’m sorry I-I ran away, and-”
“Why did you leave, then?”
She freezes, fear in her eyes. She babbles incoherently for a bit, but you can’t focus on it. You’re too busy trying not to cry. Why would she do this to you again? Just when you thought you were getting over it, she tries to come back to clear her conscience. You breathe a heavy sigh.
“Look, I get…I get that you feel bad. But…you don’t have to lie to me.”
She looks alarmed.
“I’m not lying to you!”
You look at her skeptically. Telling her you can still be civil and friendly, you begin to walk away. She grabs your wrist in an ironclad grip.
“Let me prove it to you,” she says, “Uhm…please?”
You roll your eyes. If it means you can go back to the cabin, you’ll do anything. You nod in agreement. You both walk back in a slightly awkward silence, but you note the far-away look on Lottie’s face.
How the hell was this going to work?
Travis and Nat return with a deer. A whole deer. Everyone tears into their share of the meat hungrily. While eating, you slip some of yours over to Javi. He’s been distraught since Travis took his gum, and all you want is to make the kid smile again.
You notice Travis giving Javi a ring. He says your father gave it to him before the flight, and he wanted Javi to have it since he was missing him. You know damn well that your father was buried in that ring. You look at him in confusion, but he’s too busy gratefully looking at Nat to notice. You tap Travis’ shoulder, and he turns to look at you. There’s a silent question in your gaze that he simply shakes his head in response to. You supposed he would tell you later. Raising his hand, he ruffles your hair, making you groan in annoyance.
You thought back to what Lottie said about proving to you that she was telling the truth. Honestly, you doubted she’d be able to do it. If she couldn’t even tell you why she ran, there really was no point to this. Still, a foolish part of you clung to the hope that she could truly feel the same. At least the two of you were on speaking terms once again.
Thinking about Javi and Travis’ relaxed smiles, Lottie’s look of determination, and the satisfied hunger within your stomach, you relaxed for what felt like the first time in weeks.
Maybe everything would be okay.

I have a request for a victor zsasz x reader! I’ve requested this like 2 times to other writers but I love him so much🥺. Can you do an imagine of reader being Don falcones daughter and she’s victor’s significant other 🖤
Gotham!Victor Zsasz being the boyfriend to Falcone's Daughter!Reader
A/N: Not sure if this was the way you wanted the story to go but I hope this is appealing. Also Sofia don't exist, at least not in this specific fanfic.
Overview: Being the daughter of Don Falcone and girlfriend to his personal assassin.
Relation: Romantic
Tumblr media
The start of you and Victor's relationship was...complicated to say the least.
You both had grown a mutual attraction for one another and when you both found that out, the rest was history.
Fear of what your father would think, you wanted the relationship to be kept a secret until you could build up the courage to tell him.
On one hand, Victor liked the excitement of being in a secret relationship with THE Falcone's daughter.
On the other, he was hesitant to hide such a big thing from his boss.
He is loyal to Falcone but he loves you.
A lot.
It's probably not until 4-5 months later do you both get busted.
It wasn't Don himself who had caught you both but a servant had seen you and Vic in one of the many rooms of the manor, alone.
Sharing a little smooch.
You and Vic were both worried what Falcone would do but what shocked you both was him saying he already knew.
Or assumed a long time ago.
I guess you two weren't as good at hiding your affections like you thought you were.
Falcone has put a lot of trust in Victor over the years and if he had to pick someone to love you but also protect you, Victor would be his first choice anyways.
He knows that Victor is the most capable of protecting his little girl.
Now onto the actual relationship stuff.
Victor is much more open with his feelings and such now that he knows your dad won't murder him in the brutalist way possible.
Even if you were Falcone's daughter and people knew not to mess with you because of your last name, Victor would still be the one to remind them now that it's known you two are together.
He'll still do jobs for your father but he's now changed to being your personal bodyguard whenever your dad isn't needing him.
He'll be by your side almost 24/7.
He likes to train with you.
Fighting experience or not, he likes to teach you new skills whenever he finds the time.
Give's you one of his own personal knife to keep on you for protection and as a little reminder of him.
Brags a lot. Especially if he's standing on the sidelines watching you kickass, he'll such smirk and brag to the person closets to him saying shit like, "See her? That's my girlfriend," while said person is scared for their life.
If he's out doing a job for your father and you text him anything saying you need help, he's at your location in 5 minutes.
No matter where he is in Gotham, he's by your side in an instant.
Hell he's never moved so fast from one location to another for your dad like he does for you.
He doesn't get too jealous since he makes it very much know you're his but if for some reason someone does do you wrong or God forbid looks at you wrong, expect to see a missing poster of said person the next day.
At the end of the day, he's most loyal to you and he better be dead if something were to ever happen to you.

Steve Harrington ✘ f!Reader
⇾ w.c. 2k words ⇾ warning(s). f!reader, no use of y/n, lingerie, unprotected sex, p in v, creampie ⇾ a/n. Belated Day Four of HoHoHoe Week. Prompt(s) - Present + Dressed up. Read part one and two, though it's not necessarily needed to understand this part.
It’s Christmas eve and you surprise Steve with an early Christmas present.  One that he gets to unwrap under the light of the tree, but little do you know, he has an early gift for you as well.
[ masterlist ]
Tumblr media
Christmas eve found you at the Harrington household, visiting Steve’s parents after the few days you had with yours.  However, nearly as soon as you arrived, the two of you were dragged along to a Christmas eve party his parents’ friends were throwing.
“Mom, I thought we were gunna spend a quiet evening with you and Dad.  Do you know how long we were on the road for?” Steve huffed, annoyance radiating off him in waves.
“Steve, darling, we can’t miss the Ferons’ annual Christmas eve party!  We go every year,” his mom explained patiently, as if Steve were a pouting child.
“Yeah, I know, but–” Steve began, only to be interrupted by his father.
“Don’t argue with your mother.”
The frustrated look on your boyfriend’s face tugged at you – you knew all too well how strained his relationship with his father was – and you jumped in to save him, just as he huffed that he wasn’t arguing.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Harrington, Steve was just wondering if we could duck out a little early, since I’m pretty beat from the drive,” you said, laying your hand on his father’s arm, and the older man softened.
“Oh.  Well, why didn’t you say so?” he exclaimed.  “Son, why don’t you take your girlfriend back home and let her get some rest?”
Steve flashed a tight lipped smile at his dad as he ducked his head in a sullen nod.
“Yeah, we’ll do that,” he muttered and you said your goodbyes, assuring his mom that you’d be alright, that you just needed to sleep off this headache that was forming.
“Thanks for that, that was some quick thinking,” Steve murmured once you were back in the car, driving down the quiet streets of Hawkins.
“It was nothing, babe.  I could tell how much you wanted to get outta there,” you assured him, reaching across the center console to take his hand, rubbing your thumb across his knuckles, and Steve smiled softly at the gesture, bringing the back of your hand to his lips.
“I’m just sorry my parents would rather get drunk with their snobby friends than spend time with us, but I don’t know what else I expected,” he sighed, pulling into the drive of his childhood home.  “At least we’ll have the place to ourselves,” he murmured and an idea sprang to your mind.
“Meet me in the living room, I have a present I want you to open early,” you exclaimed, hurrying up the stairs to Steve’s old room to fetch it as soon as you were inside.
“Okay,” Steve chuckled, watching you disappear upstairs.  “I have something for you too,” he murmured, reaching into his pocket, but you only half heard.
Kicking the door shut behind you, you began to strip, rummaging through your luggage for the red lacy outfit you’d packed, hoping for a chance to surprise your boyfriend with.  You’d planned on breaking it out once his parents were asleep, since they at least seemed to have no qualms about the two of you sharing a room, unlike your own parents, but the opportunity to do it under the soft glow of the Christmas tree was too good to pass up.
Getting dressed in the complicated garment took longer than you’d planned and you hoped that Steve hadn’t fallen asleep on the couch while waiting for you.  Wrapping a silk robe around yourself, you slipped back downstairs, letting out a sigh of relief as Steve lifted his head from the back of the couch when he heard you return.
“Where’s my present?” he asked with a chuckle, his eyes widening as you stepped in front of him and let the robe fall to the floor.
“Right here.”
Steve swallowed, wetting his lips as his gaze traveled hungrily over your scantily clad form – the red lace hugging your curves and leaving little to the imagination.
“Merry Christmas, Steve,” he breathed, his lips tugging into an awe filled grin.  “All this for me?” he asked, his eyes flicking up to yours as he pulled you closer, his hands sliding up your hips.
“All for you,” you murmured, arousal already throbbing through you and pooling between your thighs.  “Do you like?” you asked, even though the answer was obvious.
“Do you even have to ask?” Steve replied, pressing his lips to your navel, and you let out a soft moan, running your fingers though his hair, letting him kiss his way up your stomach and between your breasts.
“Are you gunna unwrap your gift to play with?” you purred, tilting your head down to watch him, already practically soaking through your lace panties.
Steve shook his head slowly, holding your gaze.  “As much as I would love to tear this off you and sink inside you, I think I wanna take my time,” he mused, raising his eyebrows at you, a ghost of a smirk on his lips.  “With wrapping this pretty, it’d be a shame to tear it.”
You let out a whine, but didn’t argue, anticipation coursing through you as his hands ghosted down your sides, first unclasping the garters strapped around your thighs before slowly working the see through thigh high stockings down.  Setting your foot between his legs on the couch, your knee bent in front of him, he pressed slow kisses against your skin as it was revealed, finally slipping one stocking off and then repeating the action with the other leg.
Once your legs were bare, he set your foot back on the floor, glancing up at you as he kissed your navel, his soft lips grazing your skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake as his hands slid up your body to work your garter belt down and let it fall to the floor with your discarded stockings.
Steve held your gaze as he next slipped his hands under the sides of your now practically soaked lace panties, tugging the fabric down agonizingly slowly as your cunt throbbed with want.  A moan caught in your throat as his lips followed, the tip of his nose brushing the soft hair between your legs, and the panties too fell to the floor, pooling around your ankles.
“So beautiful,” Steve breathed, leaving languid kisses everywhere but where you wanted him, deliberately driving you crazy with each lingering kiss and touch, his large hands running up your legs before once more resting on your hips and guiding you backward a few steps as he stood, kissing his way up your body.
Pressing your thighs together discreetly against the aching between your legs, you could already feel your slick practically dripping down your inner thighs and you whined as Steve’s hands found the clasp of your bra, desperate for him to hurry up.
Steve chuckled at your petulant whine, pausing to nip at the curve of your neck, his teeth sinking into your flesh as the bra slipped down your chest, and as soon as your tits were free, his hands covered them, massaging gently and you moaned, slipping your hands under his sweater, your fingers teasing the skin just above his trousers and it was his turn to hiss a breath as your hand found his trapped erection, palming him through the fabric.
“Steve please—“ you breathed, your gaze catching his, his dark eyes blown wide with want, and he swallowed.
“Lay down,” he murmured, stealing a lingering kiss before he released you, quickly pulling his sweater over his head, and you obeyed, getting comfortable on the soft rug next to the tree.
Catching your bottom lip between your teeth, you couldn’t tear your eyes away as Steve stripped, his movements hasty before joining you on the floor, crawling over you, adoration in his eyes.
“This is the best present I think I’ve ever gotten,” he chuckled softly, taking you in his arms, his touch gentle, but firm at the same time, as if he never wanted to let you go.
“I’m glad you like it,” you breathed, Steve’s body pressing to yours sending a fire through you.  “I want you so badly,” you whispered, pressing your lips to his neck, his jaw, his chest, anywhere you could reach.
When his cock slid between your folds, coating his length in your slick, the needy whimper that left your lips was sinfully sweet and Steve couldn’t help but echo you, his forehead pressing to yours as his hips rocked against you.
“You’re so wet,” he marveled and you nodded helplessly.
“You did that,” you whined, canting your hips forward to try to coax him inside you and he huffed a laugh.
“So impatient,” he breathed, kissing you slowly and thoroughly, making your head swim.
“Steve,” you mewled, desperation lacing your pitiful plea.  “Need you.”
It was those two words that did it and he smiled, caressing your cheek as he slid into you, slowly filling you.
“This what you need, baby?” he asked, moaning softly as he finally stilled, enjoying just being inside you, your slick velvet walls hugging him so sweetly.
“Uh huh,” you gasped, clenching tighter around him, urging him to move.  “Need you so bad, Steve.”
“You’re so beautiful like this,” he whispered, pulling back to thrust into you again, slow and deliberate, each rock of his hips growing slightly faster, his languid lovemaking turning desperate and intense until you didn’t know where he ended and you began.
Your words fell away and the room was filled with your heavy breaths and the lewd sounds of skin on skin, Steve’s expression illuminated by the soft glow of the white Christmas lights and your mouth fell open as you hung suspended, teetering on the precipice of your release.  It felt like time slowed to a stop right before the tightly compressed spring of pleasure inside your stomach finally snapped and your vision went white as you fell apart, crying Steve’s name like a prayer as his thrusts turned jerky and he filled you, painting your walls with white ropes as his mouth fell open and his eyes screwed shut.
For a long moment, neither of you moved, Steve’s panted breaths the only thing you could hear over the pounding of blood in your ears and you pressed your face to the crook of his neck, your bodies sticking together from the light sheen of sweat on your skin, but you didn’t care, only holding him tighter as you floated down from your high.
“Holy shit, that was intense,” Steve finally gasped, lifting his face to look at you, his long hair mussed and out of place, several strands stuck to his damp forehead, but he’d never looked better.
“That was perfect,” you agreed, running your hand through his hair to push it out of his eyes and press a kiss to the corner of his pink swollen lips, his cheeks flushed from exertion and his eyes shining with affection.
“I love you so much,” he breathed, echoing your actions, his palm caressing your cheek as he watched you and you could hear the hitch of emotion in his voice.
“I love you too, Steve,” you answered, nearly swept away by the depth of your feelings for him.
His lips stretched into a wavering grin and he shifted, reaching blindly for his trousers that he’d discarded nearby.  “I think I mentioned I have something for you too,” he said, his brows drawing down slightly as he struggled to pull something from his pocket.  “I was going to give it to you tomorrow, but I think tonight’s the perfect moment.”
Your mouth fell open as he produced a small velvet box and opened the lid, the soft light surrounding you sparkling off of the diamond inside.
“Steve–”
“Will you marry me?”
Your eyes flicked up to his, your vision swimming for a moment before blinking, your tears catching in your lashes, but you were already nodding emphatically.  “Yes!  A million times, yes!”
Steve let out the breath he’d been holding, his hands shaking slightly as he slipped the ring on your finger and you pulled him into a fierce hug. “This is the best Christmas gift ever,” you whispered.

Personally I think jily is supposed to be idealized (like how James and lily were idealized) to Harry. James gets knocked of his pedestal in swm and so does jily by Harry questioning if his father forced his mother into marriage. Later when talking to lupin and Sirius James and Jily get a slight defense and Harry is back to feeling alright but with the knowledge that things weren’t perfect.
I personally don’t read Jily as abusive (even though I read James as being abusive to snape at school, but I don’t think that violent, physical behavior was extended to Lily) but I definitely don’t read them as a “good” couple (whatever that means). I think you can read it in many different ways given there is so little of them and I think an interpretation that their relationship wasn’t the healthiest is perfectly plausible with the scant information we’re given.
Yeahhhh that’s probably what JKR intended. James and Lily are the fridged parents who are dearly mourned and missed, and as a result, their flaws are completely smoothed over in everyone’s memories. But in Snape’s Worst Memory, Harry learns the hard lesson that things aren’t always what they seem, and that nobody is perfect, not even his dead father. Hurrah.
My problem with this is that I think it’s very boring, LOL. Like it really is probably exactly what JKR intended (given her middle-of-the-road takes on every moral and political question that happens in these books), but man, it feels like such a cop out. James basically ruins Snape’s life for no reason, and the conclusion we’re meant to draw from this is just, well, people are complicated! NO!!!! Bad answer!!! Like, Snape also did some terrible things, but at least he spends a ton of pages actively suffering/atoning for his sins. But James, on the other hand, is only somewhat implied to have changed maybe slightly a little bit somewhere off-page, and we just have to take #1 James Potter fanboy Sirius Black and serial understater Remus Lupin at their word. So if James was supposed to be “redeemed” – or even just excused – wow, it really doesn't work for me. You can't go as dark as "protagonist questions if his father forced his mother into marriage" and then just brush it off like no big deal, Joanne! And it’s so frustrating, because all it would've taken to fix this would've been to show James being a good person instead of just telling the reader that he was one (proof: trust me?). Ugh.
So because of all that, I agree that from what we’re given, it’s quite difficult to read Jily as “good.” We rarely see them interact, and when we do, James’s behavior is wayyyy too similar to the trope of “terrible guy eventually gets the girl even though she seems to hate him with every fiber of her being because his persistence and not taking no for an answer is just toooo romantic to resist.” Which sucks, lol. It feels like JKR is basically being like, “eh, James was young and dumb, whatever” and giving him a huge out for all the grief he caused Snape (and Lily, for that matter) – and she expects that the reader will agree that that is a legitimate excuse for his behavior, and by extension think that it's reasonable for Lily to forgive and eventually marry him. And man, I am just not sure if that is enough to convince me. (And evidently, I'm not alone, considering the “Jily is abusive” meta post that likely sparked this ask!)
With that said, I agree that it’s a stretch to say that James was abusive (or even implied to be abusive) toward Lily. It’s not a completely unfounded take – it could probably be written well in a fic, and even be canon compliant – but you would really have to extrapolate that dynamic from the little information we’re given (as you pointed out). And more importantly (at least, re: that meta), I don't think JKR intended that interpretation at all.
Personally, I just don’t think it makes sense for the narrative for James and Lily to have been in an abusive relationship. And by the narrative, I mean Harry. If Jily is an abusive (or even just bad) relationship, that would have massive ramifications for the way Harry sees his parents. Ideally he would have to come to terms with that at some point – I don’t think it makes sense for James’s and Lily’s relationship to have been this way and not have significantly affected Harry – but imo JKR clearly does not want to deal with that. Like you said, the point of SWM – aside from foreshadowing Lily and Snape’s relationship – was to knock James off his pedestal and basically go, See, nobody’s perfect. <3 And the story is not interested in engaging with James’s behavior on a level any deeper than that lol. Which ok, I don’t love it, but if we’re not going to spend time dealing with morally gray James, then it doesn’t make sense for him to be even more morally gray (or rather, have him fall face first over the line into becoming a downright despicable person) by making him abusive toward Lily.
So that's my Doylist analysis: no way in hell did JKR intend Jily to be an abusive relationship, but she also didn't do a good enough job defending and/or redeeming James after SWM, so we're just left to speculate about how much he really changed. Still, I don't think "JKR is a bad writer" is a very satisfying answer. After all, the only reason that I'm engaging with this text in the first place is because I'm a fan of it, so I think it's also worth looking at it from a Watsonian perspective – or at least, to accept the events of the book as they're written and try to fill in the blanks. (Imo so much of the fun of fandom is trying to fill in those blanks in a satisfying way, to expand upon a character and try to reach a more interesting conclusion than the author did... And I would be remiss not to mention that, because it undoubtedly influences the way that I (and probably also you, if you're on this side of tumblr) engage with the text.)
So for me, as a Marauders era fan, I’m faced with: ok, I don’t really like the idea of these two characters together, but they canonically got together, and I think the story is better because they got together, and it’s better if they genuinely like each other, and it all had to happen somehow – so how can I explain it in a way that both makes sense with the story and is satisfying to me? And my answer to that is twofold.
First, I imagine that James was not always quite such an awful guy (as in, not always as showy, combative, and cruel as he was in SWM). After all, there is a glimmer of goodness in him when he chooses to save Snape’s life during the Prank, revealing that somewhere deep down, he does in fact have a moral compass. And second, I think that he has to have changed. And I mean a genuine change – one that might not have resulted in completely different behavior (after all, he was still hexing Snape through his seventh year) – but regardless, something that makes him seriously reflect on his actions and reconsider his motivations. His behavior in SWM is just too inexcusable for him to get with Lily – partly because Lily is generally framed as a Very Good Person, and partly because regardless of how she is framed, James was still awful to her – without any self-reflection or growth. Of course, the problem then becomes explaining this in a satisfying way!
And I have some ideas in mind – but they’re definitely more speculation than fact, and omg this post is long enough already. Luckily, I received another ask on this topic, so I will save my self-indulgent headcanons for that.
There is one last thing I want to mention, which is (part of) my reasoning for why James may not have been such a bully all the time and why I think he has the capacity for change, and it's been nagging at me ever since I read that meta post (which again, presumably started this whole thing). I think one thing that bothers a lot of people (including me!) about James is that it seems like he chooses to pick on Snape in SWM because of Lily’s presence. He wants to show off to her, so he keeps looking over to the girls by the water, he ruffles his hair, he deepens his voice, and he tries to get her attention by targeting Snape. Following this logic, we can presume that James wouldn’t have done any of this if Lily hadn’t been there – and that’s the part that got me thinking. I have to wonder if Lily was perhaps not the only person who James wanted to impress in that scene… in fact, I think it’s incredibly likely that James would have acted differently if the Marauders hadn’t been there! (Harry has "the distinct impression that Sirius was the only one for whom James would have stopped showing off," and Sirius saying that he's bored is the inciting incident for James spotting Snape...!) Yes it’s going to be a James masculinity analysis because this is what happens every time I talk about these fucking characters apparently. So idk, stick around if you’re into that.
And of course, thank you for the ask!
