Today's bi book of the day is Stars in Their Eyes by Jessica Walton and Aśka!
Tumblr media
It's a romance graphic novel with a bisexual amputee teen finding love at her first fan convention while struggling to manage her chronic pain.
Has f/nbi romance.
In this lighthearted YA romance, Maisie and Ollie discover that nothing beats the feeling of falling in love for the first time. Maisie is on her way to Fancon! She's looking forward to meeting her idol, Kara Bufano, the action hero from her favorite TV show, who has a lower-leg amputation, just like Maisie. But when Maisie and her mom arrive at the convention center, she is stopped in her tracks by Ollie, a cute volunteer working the show. They are kind, charming, and geek out about nerd culture just as much as Maisie does. And as the day wears on, Maisie notices feelings for Ollie that she's never had before. Is this what it feels like to fall in love? Perfect for fans of Heartstopper and Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me, this graphic novel debut is a fresh, one-of-a-kind story that celebrates the excitement of meeting someone special for the first time.

When you’re looking for physical Transmasc/Non binarymasc monster romance books and you find some where the monster is hot but the main character is a cis female and she looks the same as all the others 😒
Tumblr media
Like c’mon, y’all. Where’s the diversity? I shouldn’t have to fight to find myself in media when everyone else gets it for doing nothing but existing. The closest I can get is cis male stories but it’s not the same 😔

Long ago, the kingdom of Pledora was divided into five different kingdoms : Pallas, Barène, Ascad, Yescousev and Raflen. They all lived in relative peace until the birth of the Prince of Pallas and son of the fierce Pallasian Queen : Ambrose Faegan. This day was revealed the scandalous affair between the openly anti-elves queen, Lin Faegan, and the Elvish Supreme General. Yet, what caused the disaster was not the outrageous birth but the murder of the queen’s husband by Vaelyen’s men. Because of this act of war, three of the five kingdoms started a global massacre on the elves of the continent. Only Ascad and Barène refused to engage themselves in this witch hunt. As a consequence, Barène was invaded by the Yescouvic army and Ascad was banned from commercial exchanges with the other countries. The elves were wiped out the continent’s surface. Only remained the half-elf bastard, Ambrose. Unless…

Curl up with Cosy (or Not-So-Cosy) SFF
I’m currently revising my own darker, moderately spicy take on Beauty and the Beast, which has grown from novella to short novel, so I thought I would do an appreciation post for all the retellings and versions of it! That led me to thinking I could do a series of blog posts on this tale, which I’ve started here with some film versions I really like, and why I love the story despite its…

I love Mason Deaver’s I Wish You All The Best, but I’ve gotta say, The Ghosts We Keep is by far their best work in my opinion. I don’t think I’ve cried that hard at a book since They Both Die At The End.

Writing any kind of story is a scary proposition, especially if it deals with personal stuff. And writing about trans people during a bogus moral panic is especially daunting -- it's easy to either pull your punches, or feel as though the burden of good trans representation weighs on your shoulders. The good news is that we are living during a time of extreme riches when it comes to trans stories, and a ton of wonderful authors are writing trans tales that defy categorization and bust through boundaries. So please write the story that speaks to you, the story that only you can tell about your own obsessions and dreams. It can be scary or funny or comforting or escapist, or all of the above — don't worry that what you write will be singled out as the One True Trans Story, or seen as a representation of all trans people. Just write your story.

Sooo guys, this is my first post :) I just finished
"I Wish You All The Best" By Mason Deaver
(I'm going to try to do this without spoilers also, sorry for my spelling, English is not my first language :3)
This book was amazing, I really really liked it. It has great character, the plot is nice, and I love how comforting it is! Feels like a cup of warm tea (with a tiny bit of pepper added ) the book has some good character writing. What I also like about it is the representation of different religions, cultures etc.
TW (mention of mental health, ab*se, homophobia, panic attacks, ect)
The main character of this book is Ben, they recently came out to their parents as non binary and got kicked out of the house. Having no choice but to live with their older sister and her husband which they haven't seen in years. Ben moves in with their sister and starts a new life far from their parents.
That's kind of all I have to say about it, overall I really enjoyed this book, I think Mason Deaver did a great job writing this book and as a person who also relates to anxiety and panic attacks, this is really good. I give it a big 4,5 star rating :)

Thinking about this page tonight. Remembering why the book makes people cry. This page would make me cry, right now, if I was still capable of such things.

I just learned that there will be a movie adaptation of I Wish You All The Best and I'm so happy about it. This book literally left me in shambles.
I just truly hope that we'll have Ben's inner dialogs because the way the book was narrated through their eyes was heart wrenching.
