Fluff only for this one. Woman Reader (sex irrelevant)

Your Godly lover had given you immortality after They nearly lost you. They couldn’t bear the idea of losing you. You hated Them for it even all these centuries later. You had to watch your family grow old and die. Your younger siblings. Their children. Their children’s children. Eventually you couldn’t even be around their descendants. It was too hard. All you could do was set up a trust fund each time you found out another had been born. You still had to take care of them somehow. They were all that was left in this world of your family.
You were a whispered legend in the county you lived in. Some thought you were a Spirit of the Forest that was from the pre-Colonization of the area. Some said you were a monster, lurking and read to eat unsuspecting youth who wandered into your trees. Others said you were stolen by a man who killed you. Very few whispered the truth, because those who had eventually were forced away from the area to allow it to be settled.
It wasn’t until some of your youngest sister’s descendants moved back to the area that you allowed yourself to peek at them. You’d find excuses to go to town, to find them. Your sister had been gorgeous. Maybe the most beautiful woman aside from your mother that you’d ever seen. She was tall, with eyes like clay, hair like midnight and skin so smooth you always wanted to be the one to paint it. Her descendant was none of those things aside from beautiful.
Her eyes shun like the midday sky, with hair that curled and twisted in ways you’d never imagined before the settlers came. Her face was round and childlike despite the life line that aged her face. Her skin burned easily in the sun that your sister loved, but there was ink on that skin. A permanent painting of a bird. You couldn’t help but smile. The more you saw her, the more you wanted to get to know her. You were attached. You did get to know her. You two chatted, and her voice sounding like a melody. You loved her. She was almost like her sister had come back to you.
Then she died.
You felt like your heart was torn out of your chest. You screamed, cried, begged your Godly former lover to let you die, but They didn’t. Then, a few days after, you stood at the edge of her funeral, watching her cold body be lowered into the ground. You saw her husband standing there with their child. A beautiful little girl who reminded you so much of her mother.
It wasn’t long until you saw that same beautiful little girl curled up in a ball in the middle of the woods, sobbing. Her father said he wanted to go camping, then left her. You couldn’t let the search party find her. They would give her back to that man who said she ran off, and she was too young to deny it.
As you sat with her head in your lap and she started to fall asleep, having washed the dirt out of her golden hair, your Godly former lover appeared before you.
“This will hurt. It always does.”
You look at Them, your lower lip trembling. “I know, but I had to save her. He would have just done something else if this didn’t work.”
They look down at the little girl, tilting Their head. “Her heart reminds me of hers. Pure. Soft. She will grow up to be kind, just like her.”
“I miss her,” you whisper, voice cracking as you look down at the sleeping child.
Your Godly former lover lays Their hand on your shoulder, squeezing it softly. “I’m sorry for what I did to you. I love you.”
“I know. I wish you didn’t.”
“I know… me too.”

First Meeting
summary: You're having difficulty with some code so you stop by Penelope's house for help, unaware that she has a guest. Spencer takes one look at you and is immediately head over heels.
genre: fluff
cw: meet cute (is it a meet cute?) completely gn!reader (reader is not described at all), no use of y/n, autistic!spencer (because every spencer is autistic!spencer), season 1 spencer, university/college student reader, talk about research and coding, pov switch from reader to spencer
wordcount: 1.5k
a/n: this is an actual error I had this summer when writing my spectra analysis code
You lean back in your chair with a sigh, scowling at the code you’re trying to write. You’re still relatively new to coding, the first time you ever took a class on it was just under two years ago, so this code has taken you significantly more time to write than it would have taken Penelope. But you’ve written it. You read through the code again and rerun it. Everything runs fine, the code should work, but it doesn’t.
You rub your eyes and groan with frustration. You should be able to get a wavelength solution out of this. The professor you’re doing research with told you what you need to do to get the wavelength solution and then how to use it to find the redshift of the lensed galaxy and the foreground lensing galaxy, but nothing is lining up!
You’ve opened the data, plotted the variation in flux for each line in the image, fit a Gaussian to it to get the brightest point, and converted the pixel value of that point to vacuum wavelength, but none of the wavelengths you’re finding match up with what lines should be present in the spectra for this lamp type!
You briefly consider emailing your professor but decide against it. Even though he told you that asking him things wouldn’t bother him and that it’s his job, you don’t want to take up more of his time than you already have.
You look around your apartment for anything that might help. Your eyes land on your keychain and the spare key Penelope gave you because she enjoys it when you stop by. You quickly shut your laptop, tucking it under your arm, grab your keys, slip on a pair of shoes, and make your way down the hall to Penelope’s apartment, not bothering to lock the door behind you.
_____
Spencer sits awkwardly on one of Garcia’s kitchen stools, tapping his fingers on the Tardis mug she had filled with tea and given him. He’s not exactly sure why Garcia invited him over. She said she wanted to bond, but they’ve known each other for almost two years now, and Spencer considers her a good friend, so he doesn’t really know what bonding entails. So far, Garcia has just been bustling around her kitchen preparing snacks and drinks for their Doctor Who marathon.
The lock clicks and Spencer’s head whips toward the door just in time for it to burst open. Spencer freezes and stares at you in awe and confusion.
“Penny!” you cry, your voice a mixture of a shout and a whine.
Garcia calls your name with a surprised look. “What happened? Are you alright?”
“What?” you ask. Then you wave your hand flippantly. “Yeah I’m fine, I just need help with some code.” Your eyes land on Spencer and he can feel his heart rate increase. He really hopes his face isn’t as red as it feels.
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t know you had someone over,” you say. “I can, um, I can come back later.”
Spencer watches as your posture stiffens slightly and you start to fiddle with your keychain.
Spencer opens his mouth to reassure you but Garcia beats him to it. “No, no, it’s fine,” she says. “I’ve been wanting you two to meet anyway.” You shoot Spencer a small, awkward smile and wave from across the room when Garcia shares your name. When she introduces him, your eyes widen and you look toward Garcia with an expression Spencer can’t decipher and mouth something to her that makes her laugh loudly.
Spencer can feel himself flushing at your reaction and takes a sip of his tea to hide his face.
“Anyway!” Garcia says cheerfully. “Do you mind if I help them real quick?”
“Go ahead,” Spencer responds, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. It’s difficult with you there, though, all his thoughts suddenly seem much harder to grasp. Like your presence is forcing them aside.
Your eyes seem to linger on him for a moment before you head over to the counter and set your laptop down. “Right,” you mutter, opening it and entering the password. Spencer listens intently as you describe to Garcia what your code should be doing and he can’t help but smile at the clear passion in your voice. It sends butterflies to his stomach.
“What do you study?” Spencer blurts out.
You close your mouth and cock your head at him for a moment. “I’m, uh, I’m studying astrophysics. Specifically strong gravitational lensing. I’ve already made preliminary models of the system and I’m just working on analyzing the spectra now.”
Spencer nods and leans over to look at your code.
“Do you want to help Penny find the issue?” you ask. You sound a bit nervous and Spencer looks up and smiles what he hopes is a soothing smile.
“I would if I could. I really don’t know how to code, though.”
“Seriously?” you ask. Spencer cocks his head at the tone of surprise in your voice. “Sorry, it’s just that Penny has told me a lot about you and about how you’re a genius and have three PhDs, which is insanely impressive by the way, so I guess I’m just surprised you don’t know something.”
“There’s a lot I don’t know,” Spencer admits. “Coding and other technological things are some of it. I don’t know too much about astrophysics either.” That’s not exactly true but it isn’t a lie either. He’s read papers on several astrophysical topics but he’s never come across one on strong lensing before. But the truth of the statement is irrelevant, the only reason he said it was to find an excuse to spend more time with you.
You smile and Spencer’s stomach feels like it does a backflip. “I won’t be much help teaching you how to code, Penny would be better for that, but I can tell you about some astro stuff at some point.”
“Alright, lovebirds,” Garcia teases and Spencer’s face burns. “Let’s focus.” You nod, clearly also a bit embarrassed, and turn back to your laptop.
“How about I go line by line and tell you what it should do and you let me know if something doesn’t do what I think it does,” you say. Garcia nods and both she and Spencer follow along as you point to and describe each line of code. You get to a printed image of the data file you’re analyzing before Garcia stops you.
“Can you open the file on your computer?” she asks.
You nod and open the file in a new application and move it so it’s side by side with the image in your code. “Wait,” you mutter, glancing back and forth between the two images. “Is that seriously the issue?” Spencer leans forward to get a closer look, the x-axes of the images are flipped.
You throw your head back with a groan and change the rotation of the file in your code. “I swear, if this works,” you growl. The clear exasperation in your tone makes Spencer chuckle slightly.
You rerun the code and compare several of the outputs to a list of wavelengths before groaning again and letting your head fall onto the counter. “I hate Python,” you grumble. “Why does it have to switch the axes!”
Garcia laughs and pats you on the back. You raise your head off the counter and tap your forehead against her shoulder in a gesture Spencer assumes expresses gratitude. “Thanks, Penny,” you sigh. “You’re the best.”
“Of course I am!”
“Oh, and Spencer,” you say, turning to look at him. “We should get lunch sometime. I can tell you about astrophysics and you can tell me about all the crazy things you know.”
“I-I would love that,” Spencer stutters, unable to speak clearly with you looking into his eyes. He's hardly able to wrap his head around the fact that someone as beautiful as you would want to spend more time with him. Spencer's not sure whether you’re asking him on a date or just to go out as friends, but he doesn’t care either way as long as he gets to spend more time with you.
“Great!” you say happily. You stand and cross the room to quickly grab one of Garcia’s pens before returning. You hold the fluffy pink pen with a smile on your face and hold out your hand for his. “May I?” you ask.
Spencer’s eyes widen and he nods, setting his hand in yours despite his usual aversion to touch. The contact makes his heart feel like it’s about to burst from his chest. You scrawl your number across the back of his hand before handing Spencer the pen and holding out your hand for him to do the same. He writes his number on your hand and watches in a sort of daze as you gather your computer and keys and wave goodbye before leaving.
Spencer jumps slightly as Garcia ruffles his hair. He looks over at her to see a knowing smile on her face. Spencer blushes and hides his face in his hands. “Shut up,” he grumbles, embarrassed.
“No way,” she laughs. “Derek’s going to have a field day with this. Boy genius has a crush!”

Happy birthday, Satoru

Birthday Boy Gojo x Reader
ᯓ★
Synopsis : in which you surprise Satoru for his birthday, and he realizes how this day is not as bad as he thought, and how much you mean to him.
Words count : 3k
Warnings : tooth rooting fluff, friends to lovers, slight angst, it takes place before the canon events of the manga but years after Suguru deflected.
જ⁀➴ ⠀ׂ Autor’s note : I just had to write a fic for his birthday… At first I had no idea what to do, but yesterday it suddenly came to my mind ! Enjoy babes <3
。⋆˚⋆✩₊⋆˚。⋆♡⋆。⋆ ˚。⋆⊹⋆ ˚⋆。⋆✧⋆˚。⋆⋆ 。⋆˚⋆✩₊⋆˚。⋆♡⋆。˚⋆。⋆✧⋆˚。
December 7. It was Gojo’s Birthday, and you were the only one to remember it right now. Maybe through the day people would indeed remember, obviously, after all. But you wanted to be the first. You took pride in it. Midnight, and barely one minute passed. You knew that Satoru was still in his office downstairs, working on files that the stupid higher ups gave him. Again. An amount of endless paperwork, actually. For once, Satoru still being busy with work at such an unholy hour was perfect for your plan.
You take your phone, dial his number, and call him, excited. Yet you try to keep it hidden, to not be betrayed by your tone of voice. You couldn’t get caught. After some seconds, he answers and you sigh with relief.
“Y/n ? Calling me so late, do you need anything ? Got into trouble ?” teases Satoru, tired way of speaking, and you can hear the shuffle of paper behind him at the same time.
“Hmm, yes. It’s very very important. Can you come on the rooftop of the school ? Like… now,” you fake a worried and slightly panicked voice. Well, you were indeed worried just by knowing Satoru must be beyond exhausted at this hour of the night, or day. Even though he would never admit it. He was like that.
“Wow, wait- It’s that important ? Is it a curse ? I don’t feel anything off, though,” he raises his head, keeping his phone against his ear and looking around, squinting his eyes to see anything with his cursed technique. Yeah, nothing.
“No, not a curse. But it’s urgent, come,” you try to hurry him, biting your lower lip as you pace around the ground of the rooftop, wind making you shiver in this cold weather.
“Here I’m thinking that you are about to confess to me,” Satoru jokes, and you were sure a stupid smirk was on his lips. You roll your eyes, unable to stop smiling at his teasing.
“Satoru, I’m being serious here,” you huff, squeezing your phone tighter against your cheek as you stare at what you prepared, getting impatient. You didn’t deny him, though. That’s what he was thinking, and that makes him grin.
“Me too. I wouldn’t mind some gut wrenching love confession. But alright. I needed a break from all these stupid papers, anyway. I’ll be here soon,” he chuckles, before clearing his throat. You say bye, and turn off your phone. Nervosity directly makes your heart hammer in your chest, growing even more agitated. You just couldn’t wait.
You stand, in front of your little surprise, taking it in your hands and looking up at the starry sky. You take a deep breath, and then Satoru teleports in front of you. The moment you see him popping -long used to his random way of appearing out of nowhere- you extend a big strawberry cake with dozens of candles in front of you.
“Happy birthday !” you exclaim, huge fat smile on your face, eyes half lidded of joy, the flames of the candles slowly moving in the cool air of the night.
Satoru freezes in front of you, partying his lips and being left speechless. Completely and utterly speechless. With one hand, he pulls down his blindfold, revealing his eyes wide open. You could see the chock in his blue orbs, he clearly didn’t expect that. He lets out a somewhat nervous laugh, eying down the cake, and then you. A smile stretches his lips.
“Y/n, what-... what is that ? MY birthday ?” he asks, stepping closer, and licks his lips staring down at the tasty looking cake, then at your pretty face. He couldn’t believe his own eyes, and his heart swells at the thought of you doing this for him. How sweet.
“Don’t tell me you forgot your own birthday. We’re past midnight, so it’s officially your day ! December 7, Sir,” you chuckle, a bit exasperated at the idea that he could fail to remember his own anniversary. Even though it wouldn’t surprise you. Satoru bites his lower lip, and passes his hand over his clearly beyond exhausted face.
“Shit, I did. I was so caught up with work these days, I barely noticed we already were in December,” he starts to explain himself, nervously laughing at how stupid he felt. He raises back his head, and meets your gentle stare. You extend the cake again.
“It’s alright, Satoru. I didn’t forget. So blow your candles,” you insist in a softer voice, and Satoru felt like he died a little at the ‘I didn’t forget’ that you said. He stays silent for some seconds, which was very long coming from someone like him that always was yapping every moment of the day. He takes a deep breath, inhales it, and then steps closer.
“Make a wish first”, you whisper, and he locks his orbs with yours, smiling, before closing his eyes. He looked so pretty, you thought, the orange lights of the flames dancing on his pale skin. When he opens them back, you wonder what he wished for deep in his heart, and he blows his candles. The flames disappear into the night, the smoke lingering in the air.
“What was your wish ?” you can’t stop but ask. He grins, patting your head as he tilt his faces to the side.
“Uh-uh, can’t tell you, or else it won’t come true,” he refuses, winking at you. You grew even more curious, but didn’t insist. Satoru really wanted his wish to come true, after all. A wish that meant a lot to him.
“That’s right. Now let’s get you a slice, birthday boy !” you exclaim happily, maybe even more excited than he was himself.
You turn around, in front of the table that you managed to bring on the rooftop, which was a hassle, and all the other stuff that you needed. Leds illuminate the table, and you take a knife and hum as you cut the cake. Satoru stays speechless again, and he notices small gifts at the feet of the table. No way. His smiles get even more softer, and his eyes stare right back at your form.
“Here you go ! I went to buy it at your favorite bakestry earlier during the day. I swear, I was eying it down all afternoon and evening… It looks so tasty,” you explain, and he takes the little plate and spoon you gave him as you turn around to prepare your own slice.
“Thanks, y/n,” he says, a bit more seriously than usual. But as you turn again towards him, he harbors back his usual goofy smile as if nothing happened.
“You’re welcome.”
You both take a bite, and sigh at how tasty it was. The cake was definitely worth the wait, and Satoru beams of happiness as he nods and hums.
“I just ascended to heaven,” he jokes cheerfully, munching and almost devouring the whole slice. You laugh slightly, and he looks back at you with a smirk.
“You can have more. The cake is all yours, actually,” you muse.
“Well, I’m sharing it with you, so it’s not all mine…” he corrects, showing with his chin the slice you are eating. You huff, rolling your eyes.
“Obviously, I bought it !”
“Nah, it’s just me being generous right now,” he retorts jokingly, and you finish your slice as you shake your head. You both put back the plates on the table, and Gojo walks towards it, looking around with curiosity.
“You really did all this, for me ? I mean, I know I’m amazing, and that you just love me so much, I’m Gojo Satoru after all,” he starts in a fake overly prideful way that makes you squint your eyes, leaning against the railing of the rooftop, “but I didn’t expect all… the effort,” he finishes more calmly, looking back at you as you smile tenderly.
“Of course. You told me that your birthday was just another regular day for you, another year older. You never made a big deal out of it. So, I decided it wouldn’t ! It’s a special day, and it’s yours. It’s a reminder that I’m grateful that you were born, and that I was able to meet you and become your friend. I’m happy that you’re here, on earth, with me. I’m happy to celebrate this day. I’m happy to have you in my life, and I’m happy to see you grow older a little more,” you explain, looking at the buildings of the school under you, and further away, the lights of the city of Tokyo deep in the darkness of the night.
You didn’t know Satoru for that long, actually. Barely more than a year, meeting him last september. You studied in another city during your teenage years, and became a sorcerer for another part of your life somewhere else. You moved not so long ago to Tokyo, meeting the Great Gojo Satoru that quickly became more than a coworker. Way more than you both originally thought.
He didn’t talk much about his past, everytime it was vaguely, but he always showed how he felt disconnected to his birthday. For him, it was the day he came to earth, how the second he was born the burden of the world was already on his shoulders. The boring day people of other clans would wish him a happy birthday, without actually caring about him, and instead directly remind him of his position. The day he couldn’t even celebrate with his own parents, from which he got separated early in youth. The day he wished never happened. The day he felt so lonely, more than he let people think. The day he once liked to celebrate in the past, when it was with Geto Suguru, but it was long forgotten. The day he now was too busy to even think about. The day he even forgot himself, because who cares, anyway, if not even his own person.
In the quietness of his non answer, you decide to continue, feeling like the mood shifted.
“I even prepared you gifts ! It actually took me time to pick them, since you kinda already own everything you want…” you spat, turning and squatting down to grab one of the gifts. You chuckle to yourself and stand back up, only to be met with Satoru looking right back at you, with an expression you never saw him have before.
Tears. Tears were at the corner of his beautiful eyes that were wide open in shock at your earlier words. He was unmoving, wind making his hair swing left and right gently. You gasp, not expecting that at all. Because it was the first time you saw Gojo Satoru cry.
“Satoru ? Are you okay-” you start to say concerned, but then he turns off his infinity, and suddenly grabs you, making the gift fall at your feet. Thankfully, it didn’t break. But you have no time to think about such things, that his strong arms wrap around your body and cradles you close against his warm chest. His face is deep buried in your neck, and you swear you just heard him sniff.
“That means so much to me, y/n. I didn’t even know it would mean anything, actually,” his voice is almost struggling to sort out the words of his throat, strained. He tightens his grip around you as if he was afraid to let go, and you can’t help but hug him back as strongly as you can.
“I’m glad, Satoru,” you whisper softly, and he kisses your neck affectionately. You shiver at the touch. Or maybe it's because his lips are warm, in duality with the coldness of outside.
“I don’t know if it’s better than the love confession I imagined,” he tries to joke to lighten the mood, voice muffled in your shoulder. You let out a laugh, nudging him.
“Well, birthday boy, anything you want for your day. But first, take your gifts,” you look up at him, and he lifts his head from your shoulder to stare at your eyes for a few seconds, not answering. You both stay like that in a short lingering moment, eyes staring back at each other.
“Ah yes, the gifts. I’m excited,” a big smile forms on his lips. You step back, and take on the floor the first gift. You give it to him, and he almost squeals at how overly delighted he was. He was a grown ass adult, but looked like a little boy right now. It made your heart melt just by doing this comparison in your mind.
“What can it be, what can it be…” he chants, looking at the box and then back at you as he slowly unwrapped it. Then, once he is finished, he is met with a limited edition figurine of a character of Digimon that you managed to find after some research, someone selling it back on a website. His eyes open wide, gleaming with surprise and adoration.
“No fucking way ! Are you serious right now ?! No way ! What ?!” he exclaims loudly, as if all energy got summoned back into his body and he opens his mouth wide, turning the box around to look at the figurine.
“Like it ?” you laugh, crossing your arms behind your back and looking at him lifting the gift towards the sky. He looks back at you.
“If I love it ? Y/n, if I could, I would be marrying you on the damn spot right now,” he says half seriously, half joking, or maybe he wasn’t joking at all. He kisses the box, and then he snakes his arm around your waist to bring you closer to him, and he kisses your cheek loudly in a big exaggerated smooch. You laugh, happy of his reaction and feeling relieved that he liked it that much.
“It’s my dear baby now,” he sighs as he looks at it, then back at you, smirking.
“Take good care of it,” you nod, and he hums as he puts the box on the table, “oh yes I will,” he adds.
“I have another gift,” you cheer, squatting back down to grab the second object.
“You are spoiling me, I feel like your sugar baby,” Satory says, and you raise an eyebrow at his joke.
“You are the rich one here. That would be more financially accurate if you were the sugar daddy in this relationship,” you correct, and he rolls his eyes, pouting childishly.
“I’m your sugar baby in spirit, then,” he corrects as you extend the smaller box.
“Yeah, that would be. But this one is not a big deal, it’s more like a little bonus,” you explain, and then he smiles as he takes it in his hands. He slowly unwraps it, more carefully, and he discovers a cd with on the transparent box some sweet words with a doddle that you wrote and drew on it.
“You always say how you like my music tastes, and insist on listening to songs with me, so I made a playlist especially on a cd just for you. Most of the songs remind me of you, actually. Listen when you have time,” you describe, and he holds it in his hands as a soft smile forms on his face.
“How can you be so sweet ? Seriously…,” he sighs, laughing nervously as he rubs his face and looks back at you. “Thank you, Y/n. Really, I mean it. Thank you,” he oh so gently says. He puts back down on the table the cd, and you stand again in front of the railing, looking at the city farther away.
“You’re welcome. But it’s only normal, Satoru,” you give him a smile as you answer, and he leans against the railing too, but instead it’s his back against it. He stares at the moon.
“You make it special. I’m not used to what you call normal”, he lets out a somewhat nervous chuckle, some uneasiness in his voice.
“But, birthdays should be like that,” you whisper, looking at him from the corner of your eye.
“I don’t know. I went to more funerals than anniversaries. And celebrating my birthday is not really… a thing. I don’t have the time to care about it,” Satoru shrugs, nonchalantly, as if it really didn’t matter the slightest and that his indifference wasn’t a big deal.
“I do care,” this time you turn your head to look at him. He stares back at you, and then smiles as he slides his arm before you on the railing, and then brings you closer.
“I know,” he murmurs gently, kissing your hair, “you made me care about it, right now,” he continues, and you lift your face to be at the same eye level as him.
“Mission accomplished successfully, then.” You wink at Satoru, and he nods, letting out a laugh at the same time as you.
“Very successful, actually.”
He looks at your eyes, and you notice how his twinkle from the light of the stars up your head. He brings his hand on your cheek, and softly caresses your cold skin, thumb gently rubbing your lower lip.
“I was serious when I said that it meant so much to me, you know ? You really made me feel vulnerable here,” he whispers, and you feel your heart flutter. You melt a little at his touch.
“Did I ?” you know you did, after all you saw the tears on his eyes, even though Satoru normally never cries. But you didn’t mention it.
“Hmm hmm,” he hums, the corner of his mouth lifting up. He leans slightly towards you, only a breath away.
“You said anything I want for my day ?” he continues, tilting his face slightly, his voice just a murmur and vibrating against your skin. His lips brushes for a second against yours.
“Anything,” you confirm. He narrows his eyes happily, and you knew what he meant.
You softly lift yourself on your tiptoes, slide your arms around his neck and then under the starry sky and magnificent moon, you gently press your lips against his in a tender kiss. They mold on yours, and Satoru lets out a breath of relief when he finally, finally feels your mouth against his. It’s like an apocalypse, heart beating fast in unison and feelings overwhelming. His hands cradle you closer, one around your waist squeezing you tighter. Satoru thought that your kiss was the best gift he could have, to be honest. It was so much sweeter than the strawberry cake, and he already craved more.
Then, as you part slightly away, breath mingled and lips still brushing together, you whisper :
“Happy Birthday, Satoru.”

Captain's confession
Sumarry: Levi doesnt know how to confess to you so he asks his trusted people: Erwin and Hanjie.
-------
"You what?" Erwin looks at Levi then at Hanjie, the confused look evident in their faces. "Can you repeat that?"
"How do I confess them?" Levi repeats through his gritted teeth, he felt emberassed to repeat it but he knows damn well it was the first time Erwin and Hanjie ever heard Levi asks that question.
Erwin puts his pen down, clasps his hands together on the desk, and asks, "Who's them?"
"Them."
Oh.
Everyone knows you are the captain's little assistance, you followed him around like a lost dog. You consistently deliver his tea at the same time on the same day, work with him on paperwork, and assist him with cleaning his office and quarters.
Levi starts to develop feelings for you throughout these periods.
Wait.
Or it already been there from the start?
The first time he saw you; love touched his heart at first sight and grew deeper and stronger until it consumed his thoughts every day.
The fact that a grown man in his mid-30s liked you made him feel embarrassed at first. It was the first time he had ever liked someone who made his stomach turn over and his heart ache even a little. As though God made you specifically for him, he didn't feel this strongly about anyone until you came around. He keeps it hidden inside of him with his typical stoic demeanour.
You are a bold adult, and it is not dishonourable to back down from any obstacles, no matter how small, that put his worries for your safety at bay. He watches you like a bounty hunter, and he hates it when you are irresponsible, let alone put yourself in danger.
He admires you, your skills, your face, the way you laugh with others, and how you get along. It's like he can't compete with that. He sometimes thinks hes not good for you; you are his captain, and you just a comrade.
Every time he thinks about it, it hurts his heart to realise that, despite your perfection, you are more ideal for someone else than for him. Hell, has he never indicated whether you genuinely like him?
He understands that you respect him as captain and that he does the same for you, but if he's being completely honest with himself, he would prefer to let you go if you have ideal someone than him. That way, it will be much simpler for him to move on.
Even it hurts so much.
"Why them?" Erwin asks, raising his bushy eyebrow, giving Levi a warm kind smile.
"Is shorty in love?" Hanjie teases, wiggling their eyebrows.
"Shut it, four-eyes! Who says I am in love? Is just a question!" Levi crosses his arms stubbornly, tapping his foot impatiently. "Why them? Well, is easy, them! Thats all."
"You're not giving us an exact reason why them," Erwin chuckles lightly, side-glancing at Hanjie, who's grinning plastered on their face. "Why them? In all people, Levi. They're just your comrade."
"Yeah! Why them? Care to give us a reason why?" Hanjie still wiggles their eyebrows. Levi wants to throw a chair at them if he wants if Erwin allows him.
"I am not explaining much why them!" Levi gritted his teeth again. "I just wanna know how do I confess to them? Explaining why them is a waste of time. I used my willpower to ask them if they're free from this evening and said yes, I am not losing chances."
Erwin and Hanjie exchange a knowing smile as they glance at each other. Erwin's eyes scan Levi's entire body, assessing his current state of stress and anticipation for the confession he will make to you this evening. He hums to himself, aware that his own closest friend is in love. It is an uncommon sight, to predict that this short, stoic man is in love and is seeking assistance in how to confess.
"We'll help," Erwin straightens himself. "First and foremost, you need to calm down, take a deep breath, and know whatever the upcoming they'll say is up to you to react."
"What if they say no?" Levi gripped his nails to his forearms; he hates the thought but is up to him to react. "What if they rejected me on the spot? How would that help me?"
"Go find someone new; it's easy as that," Hanjie chirms, placing their elbow at the armrest and their hand on their cheek. "Yknow, if you got rejected, then the only comfort way is to find someone new."
"Is not that easy, four eyes!" Levi grumbles as he furrowed his eyebrows. "I'd been weighing on my mind every day; thinking about them is like a fucking annoying fly that buzzes around at my ears. They're like a god at my eyes, and they're the purest human being that set on this planet."
He makes eye contact with the two, and he inhales deeply before exhaling through his mouth. His nail is sinking further into his forearms, and he's tapping his foot more impatiently now simply because he's so nervous. Only you are what he desires. He hates the thought and finds it much worse than he expected, and he has a hard time finding someone else if you reject him.
"I don't want someone new," Levi sighed calmly, "I want them."
That made Erwin and Hanjie look at each other again. Oh, he's really in love. Really, Erwin clears his throat as he inhales and looks at Levi with his calm, ocean blue eyes.
"If you confess, what would you say?" asks Erwin, which caused Hanjie to roar in laughter.
"Will you marry me?"
"Shorty, that's not how you say it!" Hanjie laughs harder, causing Levi to stand up and shake them violently to stop laughing, his face tinted with red and his eyes bulging out of his sockets.
Erwin attempts to contain his laughter, but Levi snaps his head at him. If Erwin isn't a commander, Levi might do the same to Hanjie. Even so, he returns to his chair, averting his gaze as he crosses his arms and taps his foot once more.
Hanjie adjusts their uniform, still grinning. "How about not that. If you're not up to tell your feelings, why not buy something for them at least?" Erwin suggested. "That way, they instantly know the gesture and that you can tell them you like them."
"How would I know what they want?" Levi huffs, "They're never told me the things they'd like."
"Flowers." Hanjie suggested, "If you can't tell what they like, then maybe start giving them gifts."
"Eugh. What if they are allergies to flowers?"
"Nonsense! There's an open flower shop down town; they give the best flowers. Trust me, they'll love what you bought!"
Levi thinks for a moment and nodded slowly, "I guess I'll buy it. Is worth the money to spent."
Erwin nodded in comprehension as Hanjie clapped their hands, and Levi got up from his chair and gave him the thumbs up. He modifies his carvant, restyles his hair, and pats his fictitious dust on his clothing. After closing his eyes and taking a long breath, he felt as though he was ready for anything.
"I am ready," He says checking the time. "I should be going."
Hanjie gave him a roar of support and Erwin do the same.
"And if anything happens, pull out method is your champion!" Hanjie exclaimed before Levi departed.
He gave them the finger.
-
Levi never asks you whether you're free, so you were rather anxious. Your dying crush on your captain asked you that question for the first time, and you replied in the affirmative. Why did you say Yes? Why did you readily acquiesce and now pay the price?!
Oh my, Sina walls. What's got into you?!
You have been pacing around for minutes after he ordered you to meet up in his office. You have attempted to divert your attention by looking at anything in his office to calm yourself, but this isn't working. This isn't even functioning!
What is he going to do? Murder you? Asks you to clean the quarters from top to bottom? Clean horses? Kick Jean and Eren to stop them from fighting again? Do more paperwork? Ripped Erwin's bushy eyebrows at one point Levi told you he hates those?
You clutched your hair in exasperation, as though you wanted them to tear it out. The moment you saw him for the first time, you were infatuated. He is the most skilled soldier in humanity, a captain, an ackerman, a clean freak, and attractive. What else is there to desire in a man?
Oh lala, you are so in love!
On several occasions, you begged Mikasa for assistance in confessing Captain Levi Ackerman. Even though she's bored of you chatting about Levi for so long, she still wants to choke you with her red scarf.
She indeed helped yes and was very supportive calmly, but that one conversation still lingered in your mind that may or may not you despise her:
"If he has a short dick like his height, you choose the wrong man."
You picked the right one, man, hell! You always do; you know that. To boost your confidence even further, he is the ideal man you have been looking for! You choose him the first you lay eyes on that gorgeous face, and you're not backing down.
At last, you took a exhaled deeply, and let everything out. You must maintain your composure. When Levi arrives at this office, you follow his instructions as always.
Click.
Looking up to see Levi enters the office, your jaw drops to the floor. Your eyes bulge in shock at the scene unfold. What the fuck?
Levi has chocolate with a teddy bear and the largest bouquet of flowers. He handed you the flowers and set the chocolate and teddy bear on the desk, facing you. Holding on to them as your arms nearly give out from the weight.
"Wh-What I am gonna do with these flowers, sir? P-put them in your vase?" You stammered your words to your shock Levi shakes his head.
"Not put them in the vase, is for you." He says, crossing his arms as your eyes wide in shock. For you? This all for you?!
"Sorry, what?" You blink at him. Levi scoffs as he looks away, a red hue across his cheeks and his eyebrows furrowered. "For me?"
"Yes, for you." Levi begins, "I have to fight a rich guy from the flower shop, saying he doesn't care if I am a captain or humanity's strongest; he needs those flowers for his girlfriend."
You are stunned at your spot. Your blood reached to your cheeks, and you tried to let out some words, but it got stuck in your throat. Is this.. something you'd been dreaming about? Levi confessing to you? Or this is something else.
"You don't have to fight—"
Levi cuts you off with his hand. "He's rich fucker, and he can get what he wants. To me, that's well spent money. Do you not like it? I also bought chocolate and teddy for you."
You nodded at him and swallowed as you looked at the flowers. They are lovely, fresh from the roots, and their scent is delightful. They are also well maintained. This was completely unexpected; in fact, it's more akin to a startling turn of events!
"Why give it to me?" You asks, placing the boquet on the floor. "I don't... I.."
"You deserves it," Levi says pocketing his hands as he looks at his boots. This is is now or never, "Is because I like you."
You were absolutely shocked! You felt the time was frozen in place upon hearing what he just said. You have to make sure this is true, not some sick joke.
"I'm sorry repeat that?"
Levi gave a tch sound, his brows twitch as his face redden deeply. Oh Lord, are you deaf? It felt like torture to say it again, "I like you, brat. Have you not heard it the first time I'd said it?"
Silence fell. Your lack of response made Levi feel nauseous. He was mentally cursing himself from the inside out while you stood there in a state of dumbfoundedness. He shouldn't have spoken or done these things because he felt worse right now. Fortunately, he has a window in his office, so he can jump out of it and leave if things go badly or simply leave his office without speaking to you.
No, that would be rude.
Finally after a while, Levi's face washed up in relief and glint of happiness from his silver eyes: "I like you too."
You felt lighter and as though a load had been lifted when you uttered that. You were so joyful that you thought you were in heaven. You like him, and he likes you too.
"Since when?" You asks.
"Since the day I have my eyes on you."
Oh, you two were on the same boat.
"Same here."
Levi smiled warmly at you, and you thought you had won the lottery because it was the first time he had ever smiled, much less for you and you alone.
You were the luckiest person alive, and thank the walls you have crushed on Levi; if not, then this poor man will go to shambles. Who doesn't want to have a crush on Levi?
As Levi took your hand in his, he entwined his fingers and pressed his lips to your knuckles, sealing the two of you together.
"Then we can get marry after?" Levi looks at you with his warm, soften eyes.
Thank to the wall again!
You wheeze, kissing his knuckles as well. "It's too soon, Levi. Once the titan dissapeared from this world, then we'll get married."
And Levi never felt more happier from that.

Hihi! I was wondering if I could request Dan Heng, Jiaoqiu, and Sunday with a s/o who is non-binary but has been struggling to tell them?
To be known and loved is to be truly seen

Dan Heng stood at his post on the Astral Express, his usual calm demeanor betraying no sign of emotion. His fingers lightly gripped the hilt of his spear as his sharp gaze scanned the horizon through the train’s viewport. It was a quiet, tranquil moment—the kind he often sought in the midst of his hectic duties. Yet, there was a quiet tension in his chest, an unease he couldn’t quite place.
It had been several weeks now since he’d first met you, a quiet, introspective soul who had quickly become an integral part of his world. You were always there, by his side, whether he was patrolling, meditating, or simply walking the halls of the train. Dan Heng couldn’t deny the subtle warmth he felt when you were near—something about your presence put his mind at ease. But recently, a subtle shift had occurred. He noticed you fidgeting, speaking less, as though burdened by a weight you refused to share.
“Is something wrong?” he asked one evening when you found yourselves alone in the train’s quiet corridor.
Your gaze flitted to the floor, a hand nervously tugging at the edge of your sleeve. “It’s nothing, Dan Heng. Don’t worry about me.”
He didn’t press further, but something in your voice felt off. There was something you weren’t saying, something that hung between you like an unspoken truth. He had a feeling that it wasn’t nothing at all.
Days passed, and the quiet unease gnawed at him. He’d seen you hide it behind your smiles and soft laughter, but your unease was palpable to him. For all his stoic nature, Dan Heng had always been able to sense when something was wrong—when people around him needed something they weren’t saying. But this? This was different. His mind wandered through the possibilities. Was it something to do with your past? Or perhaps you were frustrated with your role on the Express?
It wasn’t until a late-night conversation in the dimly lit cabin that the truth came to light.
“I—I’ve been meaning to tell you something for a while,” you began, your voice almost a whisper. Your hands trembled as you clasped them tightly in your lap, a nervous habit Dan Heng had come to recognize. “It’s just… it’s hard.”
Dan Heng’s expression softened, and he turned toward you fully, his attention fixed entirely on you. “You don’t have to explain everything at once. Take your time.”
There was a long pause, and for a moment, the only sound was the soft hum of the train. Finally, you spoke again, your words slow but deliberate. “I’m non-binary. I don’t fit into either the role of a man or a woman, and… I’ve been struggling with how to tell you.”
The words hung in the air, fragile as glass. Dan Heng remained silent for a moment, his gaze searching your face, trying to read the emotions beneath the words. He could see the uncertainty in your eyes, the vulnerability in your posture. Slowly, he reached out, gently placing a hand on yours.
“It doesn’t matter to me,” he said quietly. “You are you. And I am honored to stand by your side, no matter what.”
A quiet relief washed over you, and you looked up at him, meeting his eyes for the first time. A faint smile tugged at your lips, and Dan Heng felt a warmth fill his chest.
“I’m glad you told me,” he murmured, his voice low. “You can always be yourself around me. I’ll never judge you for who you are.”
In that moment, the weight you’d been carrying seemed to lift, if only for a little while. Dan Heng’s quiet support meant more to you than any words could express.

The soft scent of herbs and medicinal oils filled the air. It was a quiet evening, and the flickering light of lanterns cast gentle shadows on the walls as Jiaoqiu worked, grinding the ingredients for his latest formula. His fox-like ears twitched as he adjusted the flow of alchemical concoctions, his mind focused on the precision of his work. But despite his calm exterior, his thoughts often wandered back to you—the person he had been thinking about all day.
‘You haven’t been yourself lately.’ Jiaoqiu thought, stirring the potion in his hands. He had known you for a long time, admired your strength, but recently there had been something… off. You had been quieter, more withdrawn, as if there was some burden weighing on your heart. The compassion that guided Jiaoqiu in his work extended beyond the physical, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that something deeper was troubling you.
He looked up from his work, and there you were—standing just inside the doorway, your figure framed by the dim glow of the lanterns. The hesitation in your gaze was evident.
“Are you alright?” Jiaoqiu asked, his voice gentle yet sharp with concern. He set down his mortar and pestle, his perceptive nature already picking up on your discomfort. “You’ve been distant.”
You shifted uncomfortably before slowly walking towards him. “I’ve been meaning to tell you something, Jiaoqiu. I… I’m not sure how you’ll take it.”
Jiaoqiu raised an eyebrow but didn’t interrupt. His expression softened, his hands resting by his side. “Whatever it is, you can tell me. You know that, right?”
The words came slowly, and there was an almost tangible tension between you. “I’m non-binary. I don’t identify as either male or female, and… I’ve been so afraid to tell you. I don’t want to disappoint you.”
Jiaoqiu’s expression softened, his ears flickering with understanding. He stepped closer to you, his hand reaching out gently to rest on your shoulder. “Disappoint me? You could never disappoint me.”
You hesitated, but Jiaoqiu gave a small, reassuring smile. “I understand. I don’t expect you to fit into any mold. You are who you are. And I appreciate you for exactly that.”
A sigh of relief escaped you, and you looked up at him. “You really mean that?”
“I do,” Jiaoqiu replied. “In fact, I’ve always admired your strength. The way you carry yourself, how you face every challenge. That’s what matters.”
For the first time in a long while, a genuine smile appeared on your face, and the tension seemed to ease from your shoulders. Jiaoqiu’s smile widened, and he gently squeezed your shoulder. “You’re not alone in this. I’ll always be here for you, no matter what.”

Sunday sat in the quiet room of the Astral Express, his fingers delicately tracing the patterns on the edge of his golden ornament, the glimmer of the halo behind his head casting an ethereal glow. His thoughtful gaze rested on the view outside, but his mind was far away, lost in the complicated emotions that lay beneath his composed exterior.
There was a problem that had been on his mind lately. You had been acting strangely—distant, hesitant. He’d seen you flinch at the smallest things, and your silence had grown more pronounced. He couldn’t help but feel concerned, but at the same time, he couldn’t deny the twisted part of him that wondered if you were simply afraid of what he was.
But even as he questioned your distance, he knew there was something more. Something deeper.
“Sunday...” your voice broke through his thoughts, soft and tentative.
He turned toward you, his eyes locking onto yours with a gentle, almost serene gaze. “Yes?”
There was a long silence as you stood there, shifting your weight from foot to foot. “I… I’ve been meaning to tell you something important.”
Sunday’s expression softened, his tone warm but serious. “You know you can tell me anything. Whatever it is, it won’t change how I feel about you.”
You bit your lip, and after a long pause, you finally spoke. “I’m non-binary. I don’t identify as male or female, and I’ve been struggling to find the right way to tell you.”
Sunday blinked, his halo subtly shifting behind him as his mind processed your words. For a moment, he said nothing, his gaze steady as he took in your vulnerability.
When he finally spoke, his voice was calm but firm. “You are exactly who you are, and that is all that matters. I do not view you through any lens other than the one that sees your worth and your spirit.”
His words were simple, yet there was an undeniable warmth in them, a sincerity that reached deep within your heart.
“You are perfect just as you are,” Sunday continued, his expression softening. “In this world, where everything seems to crumble under the weight of suffering, the only thing that matters to me is that you’re here. With me. And that we’re together.”
The softness in your gaze grew, and for the first time in what felt like forever, you allowed yourself to truly relax in his presence. His acceptance was unwavering, a balm to the wounds you had carried for so long.
“Thank you, Sunday,” you whispered.
He smiled, a quiet, knowing smile. “Of course, dove.”

My daily 50 kisses
ʚїɞ Dazai Osamu x Reader
ʚїɞ Keep in mind English is not my first language, so there may be mistakes!
ʚїɞ First x reader work
ʚїɞ word count: 208
ʚїɞ Tw's: None! Just pure fluff with soft Dazai, Dazai calls himself your future husband once, reader's gender is not specified in any way, the reader is implied to be at least slightly shorter than Dazai
34, 35, 36, 3- oh?
36 is the exact number of how many kisses Dazai got on the face. He counted, and mind you, it was too little.
“Why’d you stopped?” Came the question from the brunette, his arms tightening around your waist. Your hands were on his cheeks, he was enjoying the feeling thank you very much.
“Didn’t you have enough by now?”
“Nope! Your handsome boyfriend demands more kisses!” At that, the taller figure gets closer to your face.
“What if I say no?” A chuckle from you, an amused one. Dazai’s always like this when you give what he decides, is too little affection.
“You see, there’s no ‘no’ option. You simply have to agree”
“I would disagree” It was hard not to smile in this situation, seeing your significant other so openly wanting affection from you never fails to warm your heart.
“And I disagree with your disagreement. Your future husband is demanding his 50 daily kisses, and he won’t fail at getting them” You don’t fail on slightly blushing at what he called himself - just what he wanted to see.
“Your daily 50 kisses? That’s the first time I hear of such a rule”
“Hm, you heard right. My daily 50 kisses”
Notes, comments, reblogs and anything else is greatly appreciated

Ace in the hole
Apparently I can't write anything small (lol), this is technically a continuation of royal flush and pa's little Spade. I hope you enjoy this nonny! I based a bit of this on my own experience coming out as non-binary (technically I'm genderfluid but I use non-binary and fem terms more than masc)
Rating: T
Word count: 8.4k
Warnings: anxiety about coming out, transphobia (immediately shut down), overly excited boy dad remy
If you liked this check of my masterlist or put in a request if they are open

Spade, your eldest, had moved out and was living in an apartment with her fiancée Alex, but that didn't mean the house was empty. Chip, the youngest, was only turning ten this autumn, while Alice was now sixteen. On this particular afternoon, Chip was out with friends when your second oldest asked to speak with you and Remy.
"What's goin' on, poupée?" Remy asked, his accent thickening with concern. "Remy doesn't like seeing you so nervous.”
"I want to talk to you both about something serious... about me," they finally spoke. You placed your hand over Remy's. While it couldn't be as dramatic as finding seventeen-year-old Spade with a suppression collar or discovering she'd hidden a boyfriend for three months, something in your second oldest's tone made you worry.
"You can tell us anything, sweetheart."
"Could be about a boy or somethin'?" Remy chuckled teasingly, but when you squeezed his hand, he tried to compose himself. "Remy will be serious now, promise."
"You could say that," they murmured before clearing their throat. "I'm just going to say it, and you can ask questions after I'm done. I... I don't think I'm a girl. I feel like a boy. And I don't want to be a girl. I don't... want to be Alice anymore." Their voice grew quiet, nervous about their parents' reaction.
"Oh," you said softly before clearing your throat. "Well, what would you like us to call you before we proceed?"
"I... I like the name Ace."
"Sticking with the theme, huh?" Ace nodded slightly.
Remy was clearly taken aback but not angry or upset—just surprised. This wasn't a scenario he'd ever imagined. "Ace... that's a good name." You could tell your husband was searching for words. "You really feel like a boy?"
"I do, Pa. I don't think I've ever felt like a girl." He scuffed his foot against the ground, unable to meet his parents' eyes, expecting disappointment that wasn't there. You could feel your husband practically vibrating with excitement at the prospect of having a son old enough to share traditionally masculine activities with.
"Remy," you spoke in a warning tone. "Give him a moment before you start trying to teach him football." Remy deflated slightly, catching himself before his smile grew too bright. He took a deep breath, nodding as he refocused on the conversation.
"So, what does this mean for you, son? Should we start calling you Ace full time? You wanna see about a new wardrobe? And are you... are you planning on doing anything like surgery or somethin'?"
Ace was about to answer, but you caught his nervous look first.
"It's up to you, darling. Your father and I aren't upset at all. I can promise your father is thrilled about having another boy under his roof. We just want you to be comfortable."
Ace looked stunned by how well you were both taking it. While he hadn't expected a negative reaction, he'd worried about disappointing you somehow.
"You're both so cool with it..." he said, voice uncertain as he looked between you. "I just feel like a boy, honestly... I thought maybe a shorter haircut would be a good place to start."
"Remy could cut it!" your husband offered eagerly.
"You are not cutting his hair," you spoke firmly. "We will take you to get it done professionally."
"Aww, come on! Remy knows what he's doing!" he tried to protest, but your stern tone left no room for argument. He sighed before nodding. "Yeah, yeah, okay... Remy will let the professionals handle it."
Ace's shoulders visibly relaxed, tension melting away as he realized this conversation was going better than any scenario he'd imagined. "I've been looking at some clothes online too," he admitted, finally settling into the armchair across from you both. "Nothing expensive, just... different styles."
"We can go shopping this weekend if you'd like," you offered, already mentally cataloging stores that might have what he needed. "Maybe get that haircut too?"
"Oh! And Remy could—" your husband started excitedly.
"After the haircut and clothes shopping," you interrupted, knowing he was about to suggest a dozen different father-son activities. "Let's take this one step at a time, okay?"
"Actually..." Ace fidgeted with the hem of his shirt. "Could we maybe tell Spade first? Before we go shopping? I don't want her to find out from someone else, and..." He trailed off, but you understood. Spade had always been protective of her younger siblings.
"Of course, mon fils," Remy said, testing out the words. His accent wrapped warmly around the French. "Remy thinks we should invite her over for dinner tomorrow. Your choice of takeout."
"Pizza?" Ace asked hopefully, a hint of his usual mischievous smile returning.
"With extra cheese," you agreed, then added, "And what about Chip? Do you want to tell him right away?"
Ace considered this for a moment. "Maybe... maybe after Spade? He's only ten, but he's pretty smart for his age. I just don't want him accidentally telling everyone at school before I'm ready."
"That's very thoughtful of you," you said. "We can help you figure out the timing for telling others too. There's no rush."
"Speaking of school..." Remy scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Does Remy need to talk to your teachers? Or the administration?"
"Not yet," Ace said quickly, then more slowly added, "I think I want to try the other stuff first. You know, hair and clothes and... seeing how it feels at home. Is that okay?"
"More than okay," you assured him. "This is your journey, sweetheart. We're just here to support you."
"Though," Remy added with a growing grin, "Remy may have some old baseball cards in the attic that need sorting..."
You rolled your eyes fondly as Ace laughed, the sound more relaxed than you'd heard in months. "Pa, you've been trying to get someone to help you with those cards for years!"
"And now Remy has two sons to pass them down to!" he declared triumphantly, before catching himself. "That is, if you're interested in that sort of thing. No pressure."
"Maybe," Ace said, smiling. "But first... could I have a hug?"
You both moved at the same time, enveloping your son in a warm embrace. As you held him, you could feel the slight trembling in his shoulders, the release of fears he'd been carrying for who knew how long.
"We love you so much," you whispered into his hair – hair that would soon be shorter, marking the first step in his new journey. "Nothing could ever change that."
"Remy loves you too, mon fils," your husband added softly, his voice thick with emotion.
When you finally pulled apart, Ace wiped at his eyes quickly. "I love you guys too." He paused, then added with a hint of humor, "Even if Pa's going to try to teach me every sport known to man now."
"Hey! Remy is an excellent teacher!" he protested, but his eyes were twinkling.
"You taught Spade basketball and she broke a window," you reminded him dryly.
"That was one time! Remy cannot be held responsible for that!"
Ace laughed again, and you treasured the sound. There would be challenges ahead, you knew – telling family and friends, navigating school, dealing with the wider world. But right now, in this moment, your son was happy and loved, and that was what mattered most.
"So," Ace said, looking more confident than he had all afternoon. "Pizza tomorrow with Spade?"
"Pizza tomorrow," you confirmed. "And maybe this weekend we can look into that haircut."
"And the baseball cards!" Remy added hopefully.
"And maybe the baseball cards," you conceded, watching your husband and son share identical grins.
Some changes happened slowly, and others happened all at once. But as you watched Ace settle more comfortably into the conversation, already planning what style of haircut he wanted, you knew that this change – this truth – had been there all along, just waiting for the right moment to be shared.

The next evening came faster than expected. You'd barely finished setting out the pizza when Spade arrived, her keys jingling as she let herself in.
"Remy's oldest is here!" your husband called out excitedly, already heading for the door. "Come give your papa a hug!"
Spade rolled her eyes fondly as she was enveloped in a bear hug. "I was here last week, Pa." But she squeezed him back just as tight before making her way to you for another hug. "Where's the troublemaker squad?"
"Chip's at a sleepover," you explained, watching Ace hover nervously in the doorway to the living room. "And... Ace wanted to talk to you about something."
Spade raised an eyebrow at the unfamiliar name, but her expression softened when she saw her sibling's anxious stance. "Everything okay?"
"Maybe we should sit down," Ace suggested quietly.
You and Remy shared a look as you all settled into the living room, pizza momentarily forgotten. Ace took a deep breath, fingers twisting in his lap.
"So... you know how you always said I could tell you anything?"
"Course," Spade replied immediately. "That's what big sisters are for."
Ace winced slightly at the word 'sisters,' and Spade caught it, her brow furrowing in concentration.
"I'm... I'm your brother, actually," Ace managed, voice barely above a whisper. "I'm a boy. And my name is Ace now, not... not the old one."
Spade was quiet for exactly three seconds before "Oh! Oh shit, that makes so much sense!"
"Language," you corrected automatically, but you were smiling.
"No, but seriously," Spade continued, leaning forward. "Remember when we were kids and you kept stealing my baseball cap? And how you always wanted to be the male lead when we played pretend? And—"
"Remy feels very called out right now," your husband interrupted with a chuckle. "Because Remy didn't notice any of that."
"That's because you're oblivious, Pa," Spade said affectionately before turning back to Ace. "So, little brother, huh? Does this mean I can finally give you all those hand-me-downs Pa bought me that I never wore?"
The tension in Ace's shoulders melted away. "You're... you're okay with it?"
"Are you kidding? This is great! Now I'm not outnumbered by sisters anymore!" She paused. "Wait, have you told Chip yet?"
"Not yet," you answered. "We're taking it one step at a time. Haircut and clothes shopping this weekend."
"Remy has many plans!" your husband added excitedly. "Baseball cards, football, Remy can teach you to shave even though you don't need it yet—"
"Remy," you warned, but Spade was already laughing.
"Oh god, Pa's going to try to cram eighteen years of 'father-son bonding' into like, a week."
"Remy will pace himself!" he protested. "But also, son, if you want to learn how to throw a perfect spiral—"
"After the haircut," you and Spade said in unison.
The next week proved Spade's prediction eerily accurate. While you took Ace shopping for new clothes and to get his hair cut into a stylish short style that made his whole face light up, Remy was making lists.
"Remy found his old comic books!" he announced one morning, dragging a box from the attic. "Every boy should read these classics!"
The next day: "Does Remy's son want to learn how to change a tire? Very important skill!"
And the day after: "Remy thinks it's time for some man-to-man talks about—"
"If you try to give him The Talk right now, you're sleeping on the couch," you threatened, watching Ace turn bright red.
"Remy was just going to discuss sports statistics!"
But for all his enthusiasm, you noticed how careful Remy was too. How he always checked if Ace was interested before launching into something new. How he'd caught himself almost saying "Alice" once and had spent the rest of the day practically showering Ace with "mon fils" to make up for it.
The baseball cards turned out to be a hit, though. You found them one afternoon sprawled across the living room floor, cards arranged in careful piles as Remy explained the different statistics and players.
"And this one," Remy was saying, holding up a well-worn card, "This one was Remy's favorite when he was your age."
"Because he was a good player?"
"Non, because Remy thought his mustache was magnificent! Look at it!"
Ace's laughter echoed through the house, and you paused in the doorway just to watch them. Your husband caught your eye and smiled, and you knew he was thinking the same thing: your son had always been your son, even before you knew it. You were just finally seeing him clearly.
"Hey Pa?" Ace asked, carefully setting down a card. "Think we could try that spiral throw now?"
Remy's entire face lit up. "Remy thought you'd never ask! Let Remy get his old football—"
"In the backyard!" you called after them as they scrambled up. "If you break anything, you're both grounded!"
"Remy makes no promises!" came the cheerful reply, followed by Ace's giggling.
You shook your head fondly as you watched them through the window, Remy positioning Ace's arms just so, demonstrating the proper grip on the ball. There would be broken windows in your future, you were certain, but watching your son and husband together, you couldn't bring yourself to mind.
Some things were worth a few repair bills.
.
.
.
A few weeks later, after Ace had settled into his new haircut and wardrobe, and after Remy had only broken one flower pot with their football practices, it was time to tell Chip. The ten-year-old was sprawled on the living room floor doing homework when Ace decided it was time.
"Hey squirt," Ace said, settling cross-legged on the floor near his little brother. "Can we talk for a minute?"
"Is this about the cookies missing from the jar? Because that wasn't me, it was Pa. Remy did it," Chip said without looking up from his math worksheet.
"Remy would never!" came the indignant call from the kitchen, followed by your knowing snort.
"Actually," Ace continued, fighting back a smile, "it's about something else. Something important."
That got Chip's attention. He set down his pencil and sat up, looking between you, Remy, and Ace with growing curiosity. "Are we getting a dog?"
"Non, but Remy likes where your head's at," your husband grinned, earning an elbow from you.
"Focus, please," you reminded them gently. "Ace has something he wants to tell you."
Chip's brow furrowed. "Who's Ace?"
"I am," Ace said softly. "That's... that's what I wanted to talk to you about. You know how you've always called me your big sister?"
"Yeah?" Chip drew the word out uncertainly.
"Well, I'm actually your big brother. I'm a boy, like you. And my name is Ace now, not the old name."
Chip stared at him for a long moment, his face scrunched up in that way it did when he was processing new information. "But you were a girl yesterday."
"Non, mon petit," Remy interjected gently. "Ace has always been a boy, we just didn't know it yet. Like when you got your glasses and suddenly realized the trees had individual leaves instead of being big green blobs."
"Oh." Chip considered this. "Is that why you got your hair cut? And why Pa keeps trying to teach you football even though he's really bad at it?"
"Remy resents that accusation!"
"You hit Mrs. Peterson's cat with the ball last week, Pa."
"The cat ran into the ball's path! Remy maintains his innocence!"
You cleared your throat loudly, bringing the focus back to the matter at hand. Ace was watching his little brother anxiously, waiting for more questions or maybe rejection.
"So..." Chip said slowly, "you're my brother now?"
"Yeah," Ace nodded. "If... if that's okay?"
Chip shrugged. "Okay. Can you still help me with my math homework? You're way better at it than Spade."
"Don't let your sister hear you say that," you warned, but your heart warmed at how easily Chip was taking this.
"Wait," Chip's head snapped up suddenly. "Does this mean I have to share my video games with you now? Because Pa always says brothers have to share, and when I visit Tommy's house his big brother never shares the good controller, and—"
"Remy thinks we can figure out a fair system," your husband chuckled. "But maybe we should let Ace answer your other questions first?"
"Oh, right." Chip turned back to Ace. "Does it hurt?"
"Does what hurt?"
"Turning into a boy."
Ace smiled gently. "I didn't turn into a boy, buddy. I always was one, inside. I just... didn't have the words to tell you before."
"Like when I knew the answer in class but couldn't remember how to say it?"
"Something like that, yeah."
Chip nodded sagely. "Cool. Can we have pizza for dinner?"
You laughed. "We had pizza last night."
"Yeah, but Ace is my brother now! We should celebrate!" Chip paused thoughtfully. "Unless you were already my brother yesterday when we had pizza. Were you?"
"I was," Ace confirmed, looking more relaxed now.
"Oh. Well, we should still have pizza. Just to make sure it counts."
"Remy seconds this motion!" your husband called out.
"Remy is not helping," you said dryly, but you were already reaching for your phone to order. Some battles weren't worth fighting, especially when your youngest was being so wonderfully accepting.
"Hey Ace?" Chip asked while you were ordering. "If you're my brother now, does that mean you'll teach me how to climb the big tree in the backyard? Pa says I'm not allowed to learn from Spade anymore after she fell through Mrs. Peterson's fence."
"Absolutely not," you called out, covering the phone.
"Remy will teach you both!" your husband declared proudly.
"Absolutely NOT," you repeated more firmly.
"Remy was just kidding, poupée!" But he winked at the boys when you turned back to your call.
You watched as Chip scooted closer to Ace, shoving his math homework between them. "This problem's really hard," he said. "But maybe my big brother can help?"
The smile that spread across Ace's face at those words could have lit up the whole house. "Yeah," he said, voice slightly thick with emotion. "Your big brother can definitely help."
"Remy is not crying," your husband announced, wiping his eyes. "Remy just has allergies."
"To math?" Chip asked innocently.
"Oui, exactly! Remy is very allergic to math!"
As you finished ordering the pizza, you couldn't help but smile at your family. Sometimes the biggest changes were met with the simplest acceptance, especially when seen through the eyes of a child who just wanted pizza and help with his homework.
And maybe, you thought as you watched Ace patiently explain fractions to his little brother, that's exactly how it should be.
"Hey Ace?" Chip asked suddenly. "Do I have to give you my dessert now? Because Tommy says his big brother always takes his dessert and—"
"Remy thinks that's enough questions about Tommy's brother!"
The sound of your children's laughter filled the room, and you knew that everything was going to be just fine.
.
.
.
A year had passed, and the changes in Ace were remarkable. Not just the physical ones – though the hormone therapy he'd started six months ago had begun to deepen his voice and reshape his face – but the confidence. Gone was the nervous teenager who'd paced in front of you and Remy that first day. Your son now walked with his head high, laughed freely, and had even started a GSA at his school.
The mall was crowded that Saturday afternoon. Chip had outgrown his shoes again ("Remy swears he grows overnight!"), and Ace needed new binders since he'd been working out with Remy in the garage gym.
"Remy thinks we should look at sports equipment while we're here," your husband suggested hopefully, making both boys perk up.
"After shoes and binders," you reminded them, steering the group toward the athletic store. "One thing at a—"
"Did you see that?" A loud whisper cut through the mall chatter. "That girl's trying to be a boy. It's disgusting what parents let their kids do these days."
You felt Ace stiffen beside you, his shoulders hunching slightly. Remy's face darkened, and you could see him starting to turn, his protective papa bear instincts flaring.
But you were faster.
"Excuse me?" Your voice carried across the walkway, sharp as steel. The middle-aged couple who'd been whispering jumped, not expecting confrontation. "Would you care to repeat what you just said about my son?"
"Your son?" The woman sneered, doubling down. "That's clearly a confused young lady who—"
"The only confused person here," you cut in, stepping forward, "is you, if you think I'm going to stand here and let you talk about my child like that. My son is braver than you'll ever be, living his truth despite people like you who think they have any right to comment on his life."
"Now see here—" the woman's husband started to interject.
"Non, you see here," Remy growled, moving to stand beside you, but you held up a hand.
"I'm not finished," you said, your voice deadly calm. "My son has more courage in his little finger than you have in your entire body. He gets up every day and faces a world full of small, narrow-minded people like you, and he does it with grace and strength that you couldn't begin to understand."
"Parents like you are what's wrong with—" the woman tried again.
"Parents like me?" Now you laughed, but there was no humor in it. "Parents like me who love their children unconditionally? Who support them and protect them and celebrate who they are? You're right, that must be terrible compared to parents who teach their children to be judgmental, hateful, and to make cruel comments about strangers in public places."
You felt Chip slip his hand into yours, squeezing tight. Ace stood frozen, watching with wide eyes.
"If you're so concerned about parenting," you continued, your voice rising slightly, "maybe worry about the example you're setting right now, teaching that it's okay to bully teenagers in shopping malls. Is that the legacy you want to leave? Is that the kind of person you want to be?"
The couple seemed to shrink under your words, finally seeming to notice the small crowd that had gathered.
"My son is kind, intelligent, and brave. He has a family who loves him and friends who support him. What he doesn't have is time for your ignorance or any obligation to justify his existence to you. So I suggest you take your outdated prejudices and remove yourself from our presence before I decide to speak with mall security about harassment."
"Remy suggests you listen to his wife," your husband added, his accent thick with barely contained anger. "Remy is not as diplomatic as she is."
The couple retreated, red-faced and muttering, but you weren't done. You turned to address the onlookers directly.
"And that goes for anyone else who thinks they have the right to comment on my son's life. You don't. End of discussion."
A smattering of applause broke out from the crowd, making the couple hurry away faster. You turned back to your family, your hands shaking slightly with leftover adrenaline.
"Mom," Ace whispered, his eyes suspiciously bright. "That was... you didn't have to..."
"Yes, I did," you said firmly, pulling him into a hug. "I absolutely did."
"Remy is so proud right now," your husband declared, wrapping his arms around both of you. "Though Remy thinks he should point out that he was about to say something too."
"You were too slow, Pa," Chip piped up, squeezing into the group hug. "Mom was like a superhero! Like Wonder Woman, but scarier!"
A laugh bubbled up from Ace's throat, slightly watery but genuine. "Yeah, she kind of was."
"Nobody," you said firmly, pulling back to look your son in the eyes, "and I mean nobody, gets to make you feel less than who you are. You're my son, and I will fight anyone who tries to hurt you."
"Even though you tell us fighting isn't the answer?" Chip asked innocently.
"Remy thinks your maman just proved that words can be the strongest weapons," your husband said wisely, then ruined it by adding, "But also, Remy knows how to throw a mean right hook if needed."
"Nobody is throwing any hooks," you said firmly, but you squeezed Remy's hand in gratitude. "Now, let's go get what we came for. And maybe ice cream after."
"Before sports equipment?" Chip gasped dramatically.
"Remy thinks this calls for both ice cream AND sports equipment."
As you walked through the mall, you noticed Ace's posture had straightened again, his head held high. A few people who'd witnessed the confrontation smiled at him supportively, and one elderly woman actually stopped to tell him she had a transgender grandson and was so happy to see supportive parents.
"Hey Mom?" Ace said quietly as you waited in line for ice cream. "Thank you. For... for everything."
"Always," you promised, pulling him close again. "Always and forever, no matter what."
"And if anyone else wants to start something," Chip announced, trying to make his voice deep and intimidating, "they'll have to deal with all of us!"
"Remy's money is still on your maman," your husband stage-whispered. "Did you see how fast those people ran? Now you two know why remy fell in love with your maman."
You rolled your eyes fondly at your family's antics, but your heart was full. Let anyone try to hurt your children – they'd learn quickly that a mama bear's love was fiercer than any prejudice.
"So," you said, changing the subject as you reached the counter. "Who wants extra sprinkles?"
"Remy does!" three voices chorused in unison, and just like that, the afternoon was back on track. Because that's what family did – they stood up for each other, protected each other, and then got ice cream with extra sprinkles.
And sometimes, that was all the victory you needed.
.
.
.
The house was unusually quiet with Remy taking Chip to his soccer tournament for the weekend. You were just finishing up the breakfast dishes when Ace wandered into the kitchen, still in his pajamas despite it being nearly noon.
"Did Pa text yet about Chip's game?" he asked, sliding onto one of the barstools at the counter.
"Mhm. Apparently 'Remy's youngest is a star in the making!'" you mimicked your husband's enthusiastic tone. "Though he also admitted Chip spent the first half waving at a dog on the sidelines."
Ace snorted, reaching for the coffee pot. You slid it away from his grasp.
"Ah-ah. If you're going to have coffee, you have to have breakfast first. I know for a fact you haven't eaten yet."
"I'm seventeen, Maman," he protested, but there was a smile tugging at his lips. "Nearly eighteen."
"And I'm your mother who knows you skip breakfast when you're anxious about things," you countered, already pulling eggs from the fridge. "Want to tell me what's on your mind while I make you an omelet?"
Ace fidgeted with the sleeve of his sleep shirt. "It's stupid."
"I doubt that very much." You cracked the eggs into a bowl, adding a splash of milk. "Is it about the college applications?"
"Kind of?" He sighed, slumping forward onto the counter. "It's just... all the applications ask for gender, and some of them want to know about name changes, and I know it's illegal for them to discriminate but..."
"But it's still scary," you finished softly, understanding flooding through you. "Oh, mon cœur."
"Told you it was stupid."
"It's not stupid at all," you assured him, pouring the egg mixture into the pan. "It's a big step, and it's okay to be nervous about it. Have you looked at the LGBTQ+ resources for any of the schools you're interested in?"
"A little," he admitted. "The one in Boston seems really good. They have gender-neutral housing options and everything."
You hummed thoughtfully as you added cheese to the omelet. "That's the one with the strong engineering program, right?"
"Yeah." He perked up slightly. "They have this really cool robotics lab, and their website showed some of the projects students have worked on—" He cut himself off, blushing. "Sorry, I know I've talked about it before."
"Hey." You slid the finished omelet onto a plate and placed it in front of him. "I love hearing you talk about things you're passionate about. Never apologize for that."
He poked at the omelet with his fork. "Even if it means moving across the country?"
Ah. There it was.
"Even then," you said firmly, starting another omelet for yourself. "Though I won't pretend I won't miss you terribly. But that's what parents do – we raise you to chase your dreams, even when those dreams take you far away."
"Pa's going to cry so much at graduation."
"Oh, absolutely. Remy's already gone through three packages of tissues just thinking about it." You settled across from him with your own plate. "But you know what?"
"What?"
"We're all going to be so proud watching you walk across that stage. Every tear will be worth it."
Ace ducked his head, but you caught his smile. "Thanks, Maman."
"Now eat your breakfast so we can start our day properly."
He looked up, curious. "Start our day?"
"Well," you said casually, "I thought since the boys are away, we could have a mother-son day. Unless you're too grown up for that now?"
"Never," he said quickly, making you laugh. "What did you have in mind?"
"I was thinking we could start with that new bookstore downtown – the one with the engineering section you've been wanting to check out. Then maybe lunch at that café you like, the one with the good hot chocolate? And after..." you paused dramatically, "I may have gotten us appointments at that salon you mentioned. The one that specializes in masculine haircuts?"
Ace's whole face lit up. "Really? But I thought you said my last haircut would last a while..."
"That was before you showed me the picture of that undercut style you like," you smiled. "Besides, every boy needs to treat himself sometimes."
"Even with college coming up? I know it's expensive..."
"Ace," you reached across the counter to squeeze his hand. "Let me spoil my son a little, okay? You've worked so hard this year – with school, with transitioning, with everything. You deserve nice things."
He squeezed your hand back. "Okay. But can we maybe... can we also stop by that tea shop you like? The one with all the fancy blends? Since we're spoiling people today?"
Your heart melted a little. "That sounds perfect."
An hour later, you were strolling down the main street, window shopping and talking about everything and nothing. Ace had inherited your love of people-watching, and you spent a good twenty minutes making up stories about passersby while sharing a bag of roasted nuts from a street vendor.
In the bookstore, you watched proudly as he confidently asked the clerk about their engineering section, no trace of the shy uncertainty that used to color his interactions with strangers. He ended up with two new books on robotics and, at your insistence, a novel he'd been eyeing.
"For fun reading," you insisted when he protested. "Life can't be all textbooks and college applications."
The café was busy, but you managed to snag your favorite corner table. Ace wrapped his hands around his hot chocolate, looking thoughtful.
"Remember when we used to do this when I was little?" he asked suddenly. "Before... before I knew? You'd take me here when I was sad, and we'd make up stories about the other customers."
"I remember," you said softly. "You always ordered the same thing – hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and chocolate shavings."
"Still do," he grinned, taking a sip that left a whipped cream mustache on his upper lip.
"Some things never change," you laughed, passing him a napkin. "Though some things do. All good changes."
He wiped his mouth, expression turning serious. "Do you ever... do you ever miss how things were? Before?"
"No," you said without hesitation. "Because we didn't have you then – not really. We had a child who was hurting and hiding. Now we have our son, who smiles more, laughs more, and orders the same ridiculously sweet hot chocolate he always has." You reached across the table to touch his cheek. "The only thing I miss is that I didn't know sooner, so you didn't have to hurt for so long."
"Maman," he whispered, eyes suspiciously bright.
"Now drink your chocolate before it gets cold," you said briskly, pretending not to wipe at your own eyes. "We have a haircut appointment to get to."
The salon was everything Ace had hoped for. The stylist, a young man with bright blue hair, took one look at the reference photo and launched into an excited discussion about face shapes and styling options. You sat back and watched as your son animated discussing what he wanted, how he styled his hair, what products he used.
"Your son has great bone structure," the stylist told you as he worked. "This cut's going to look amazing on him."
You didn't miss how Ace's face lit up at the casual use of 'son,' or how he sat a little straighter in the chair.
When it was done, the undercut was perfect – professional enough for college interviews but with enough edge to make Ace grin at his reflection.
"What do you think?" he asked, running his hands through the longer top section.
"I think you look very handsome," you said honestly. "Very you."
The tea shop was your last stop, where Ace insisted on buying you three new blends ("One for each acceptance letter I'm going to get," he declared confidently).
As you walked back to the car, shopping bags swinging between you, Ace bumped his shoulder against yours.
"Thanks, Maman. For today. For everything."
"Thank you for being you," you replied simply. "For trusting us with who you are. For letting us walk this journey with you."
"Even when I'm in Boston?"
"Especially then." You linked your arm through his. "Though you better believe I'm making your father set up video chat on every device we own."
"Oh god," he groaned. "Pa's going to try to teach me football through the computer, isn't he?"
"Probably," you laughed. "But that's what family is for – loving you and embarrassing you, no matter how far away you go."
"I wouldn't have it any other way," he said softly.
Neither would you, you thought as you drove home, your son singing along to the radio beside you. Neither would you.
.
.
.
"Pa?" Ace lingered in the garage doorway, watching as Remy adjusted the weights on the bench press. "Can I... can I talk to you about something?"
Remy sat up, wiping his brow with a towel. "Of course, mon fils. Remy is always here to listen."
Ace shifted from foot to foot, a gesture that reminded Remy so much of when his son had first come out. "There's this person at school... in my GSA group..."
"Ah," Remy's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Remy understands. Come, sit." He patted the weight bench beside him.
"Their name is Sky," Ace said, settling next to his father. "They're non-binary, and they're just... they're amazing, Pa. They do these incredible pencil sketches, and they're so passionate about environmental justice, and..." He trailed off, blushing.
"And they make your heart do that funny little flip, non?" Remy gently nudged his son's shoulder.
"Yeah," Ace admitted, ducking his head. "But I don't know how to... I mean, I've never... and what if they don't..."
"Would you like to hear how Remy won your maman's heart?" Remy asked, his eyes twinkling.
"Mom says you knocked over an entire display of books trying to ask her out," Ace laughed.
"Ah, but did she tell you why?" Remy leaned back, grinning at the memory. "Remy was so nervous, you see. Your maman was – is – the most incredible person Remy had ever met. Remy thought surely someone so amazing would never look twice at him."
"But Mom loves you more than anything," Ace protested.
"Oui, and you know why? Because Remy finally stopped trying to be perfect and just showed her his heart." Remy's voice softened. "Love isn't about being smooth or having all the right words. It's about being brave enough to be yourself."
Ace absorbed this, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "Sky asked if I wanted to get coffee after GSA meeting tomorrow."
"And?"
"I panicked and said I had to help Mom organize the pantry." Ace groaned, covering his face. "Our pantry is already organized!"
Remy chuckled warmly. "Then perhaps you should text Sky, tell them you've had a miraculous breakthrough in time management, and ask if the offer still stands?"
"But what if..." Ace took a deep breath. "What if they don't like me once they really know me? What if being trans is too complicated for them?"
"Mon fils," Remy turned serious, placing a gentle hand on Ace's shoulder. "The right person will love you for exactly who you are. Being trans is part of your story, but it's not all of who you are. You are also kind, funny, smart, and have your maman's fierce heart."
"Sky makes these little paper cranes during meetings," Ace confided, a soft smile playing at his lips. "They leave them all over school with positive messages inside. Last week, I found one that said 'You are exactly who you're meant to be.'"
"They sound très special," Remy observed. "And very wise."
"Yeah," Ace pulled out his phone, staring at it thoughtfully. "They really are."
"You know," Remy said casually, standing up. "Remy thinks the pantry could survive without reorganization for one afternoon."
Ace's fingers flew over his phone keyboard before he could lose his nerve. The response came almost immediately, making his face light up.
"They said yes! Coffee tomorrow!" His excitement quickly shifted to panic. "Oh god, coffee tomorrow. What do I wear? What do I say? Pa, help!"
"First," Remy laughed, pulling his son into a hug, "you breathe. Then, perhaps we ask your maman to help with the outfit? She always says Remy would still be wearing cargo shorts if she hadn't intervened."
"Hey Pa?" Ace mumbled into Remy's shoulder. "Thanks. For... you know."
"Remy knows," he pressed a kiss to the top of his son's head. "And Remy is always here. Now, let's go raid your closet before your maman gets home and vetoes everything."
As they headed inside, Remy watched his son practically bouncing with nervous excitement. He remembered that feeling – still felt it sometimes when your smile caught him off guard – and sent up a quiet prayer that Sky would see the treasure that Ace was.
"Pa?" Ace called from halfway up the stairs. "Do you think it's too much if I learn to make paper cranes before tomorrow?"
Remy's heart swelled with love for this wonderful boy who had taught him so much about courage and being true to oneself. "Remy thinks that sounds parfait."
And if Remy spent the next hour watching origami tutorials with his son, well, that's what fathers were for.

The coffee shop buzzed with afternoon energy as Ace fidgeted with the small paper crane hidden in his jacket pocket. After hours of practice (and a small mountain of crumpled attempts), he'd managed to fold one that didn't look completely terrible. Inside, in his neatest handwriting, he'd written: "Thank you for making the world a little brighter."
He'd arrived fifteen minutes early, partly because Mom had insisted it was polite, and partly because his nerves wouldn't let him wait at home any longer. Chip had tried to tag along ("I'll be your wingman!"), but thankfully Pa had intervened, distracting him with the promise of teaching him to make gumbo.
The bell above the door chimed, and Ace's heart did a somersault. Sky walked in, their azure hair catching the sunlight, wearing a oversized sweater decorated with tiny embroidered stars. They'd added a new pin to their collection – a sparkly rainbow telescope that read "See the Universe Differently."
"Hi," Sky said, sliding into the seat across from him. Their smile was soft and slightly nervous, making Ace feel better about his own butterflies. "You look nice."
Ace silently thanked Mom for helping him pick out the dark blue button-down that brought out his eyes. "So do you. I like your new pin."
"Thanks!" Sky touched it reflexively. "I got it at the science museum last weekend. They had this amazing exhibit about perspective and how different cultures see the same constellations..."
They launched into an enthusiastic explanation about Indigenous star stories versus Greek mythology, their hands dancing as they spoke. Ace found himself leaning forward, captivated not just by the subject but by Sky's infectious passion.
"Oh gosh," Sky caught themselves, blushing. "I'm rambling. We should probably order?"
"No, it's fascinating!" Ace insisted. "I had no idea the Big Dipper had so many different stories. Though, uh, coffee would be good too."
They approached the counter together, shoulders brushing. Sky ordered a lavender latte with oat milk, while Ace got his usual iced mocha. When he reached for his wallet, Sky gently touched his arm.
"Let me? You can get the next one... if you want there to be a next one?"
Ace's cheeks warmed. "I'd like that."
Back at their table, they fell into easy conversation. Sky asked about the GSA's upcoming projects, and Ace shared his ideas for an art showcase featuring LGBTQ+ student work.
"That's brilliant!" Sky's eyes lit up. "Art can say things that words sometimes can't. Like those paper cranes you keep finding."
Ace's hand instinctively touched his pocket. "About those..." He took a deep breath, channeling his Pa's advice about being brave enough to be himself. "I actually... here."
He pulled out the crane, slightly squished but still recognizable, and placed it in Sky's palm.
Sky's expression softened as they carefully unfolded it, reading the message inside. For a moment, they were quiet, and Ace's heart thundered in his chest.
"You know," Sky said finally, their voice gentle, "I've been leaving those cranes hoping you'd find them. Most of them were meant for you."
"Really?"
Sky nodded, pulling their backpack onto their lap. From a side pocket, they retrieved a small tin. Inside were dozens of tiny, perfectly folded cranes in various patterns – stars, rainbows, galaxies. "I've been practicing for months, but I never had the courage to give you one directly."
Ace laughed, relief and joy bubbling up. "I spent all night learning to make just one!"
"It's perfect," Sky declared, carefully refolding Ace's crane and tucking it into their tin. "My first crane looked like it had been stepped on by an elephant."
"You should have seen my first attempts. My little brother made one into a paper airplane and launched it at my Pa."
They shared stories about their families – Sky's two moms who ran an art gallery, Ace's amazing parents and hurricane of a little brother. The afternoon slipped away, punctuated by laughter and shared smiles.
As the sun began to set, painting the coffee shop in warm gold, Sky reached across the table and tentatively took Ace's hand.
"Thank you," they said softly. "For being brave enough to make me a crane."
Ace interlaced their fingers, marveling at how natural it felt. "Thank you for making me want to be brave."
Later, when Mom picked him up (because of course she had parked around the corner "just in case"), her knowing smile said everything.
"Good date?" she asked, though his glowing face surely gave it away.
"The best," Ace sighed happily, pulling out his phone where Sky had already texted:
*Next time, let me teach you how to make galaxy-patterned ones? 🌌🦋*
He quickly replied: *Only if you let me buy the coffee 🌟*
"You know," Mom said as they drove home, "when your Pa first asked me out, he knocked over an entire bookshelf trying to impress me with his knowledge of French literature."
"Pa told me," Ace grinned. "But did he tell you I almost knocked over the creamer display trying to help Sky with their coffee?"
Mom laughed, reaching over to squeeze his hand. "Like father, like son."
And somehow, that felt exactly right.
.
.
.
Three months into dating Sky, and Ace still couldn't believe how perfect everything felt. They'd fallen into a comfortable rhythm – study dates at the library, GSA meetings, afternoons in the park where Sky would sketch while Ace read to them from whatever book he was currently devouring. Each day brought new paper cranes, now exchanged between them like secret messages, carrying words of affection and support.
But there was one secret Ace hadn't shared yet, one that made him increasingly anxious as their relationship deepened. It wasn't just about being trans anymore – Sky had proven wonderfully supportive of that part of him. No, this secret was about the way electronics seemed to malfunction around him when his emotions ran high, about the strange calm that radiated from him when he was centered, about the way he could sometimes feel the energy flowing through everything and everyone around him.
The revelation came unexpectedly, as such things often do.
They were all in the backyard – Mom tending her garden, Pa grilling (and occasionally making the flames dance for his own amusement), and Chip practicing his newly discovered ability to create small force fields by bouncing energy off Ace's passive energy field. Sky was supposed to come over for dinner in an hour, giving Ace plenty of time to help Mom finish setting up the patio for their meal.
"Ace!" Chip called out, his face scrunched in concentration. "Watch this! I figured out how to make them bigger!"
Before anyone could stop him, Chip channeled a massive burst of energy toward Ace's natural field. Normally, Ace could absorb and redirect such energy – it was why he and Chip made such good training partners. But this time, the sheer magnitude caught him off guard.
The resulting explosion of energy sent a wave of pure calm radiating outward, strong enough to make every electronic device in a two-block radius temporarily shut down. The garden lights flickered, Pa's phone died, and the neighbor's wind chimes suddenly went still.
And there, standing at the garden gate with wide eyes and a handful of paper cranes, was Sky.
"I can explain," Ace said quickly, his heart racing as the energy around him pulsed with his anxiety. The garden lights began to strobe in response to his distress.
"Mon fils, breathe," Pa called from the grill, his own powers keeping the flames steady despite the energy fluctuations. "Remember what we practiced."
Sky hadn't moved, their eyes taking in everything – the dying lights, Chip's guilty face, the strange stillness in the air around Ace.
"I'm sorry," Ace whispered, trying to rein in his powers. "I should have told you sooner. I just... I was scared. Being trans was one thing, but being a mutant too... I didn't want it to be too much."
"Too much?" Sky's voice was soft as they stepped through the gate. The paper cranes in their hand rustled gently in the energy field still radiating from Ace. "Ace, you make the world calmer just by existing in it. How could that ever be too much?"
Mom and Pa exchanged knowing looks as Sky moved closer to Ace, reaching out to take his trembling hand. The moment they touched, the energy field stabilized, the lights stopped flickering, and a profound sense of peace settled over the yard.
"Oh," Sky breathed, feeling the gentle wave of tranquility that always emanated from Ace when he was content. "Is this what you feel all the time?"
"Kind of," Ace admitted. "I can sense and manipulate passive energy. Usually, I can control it better, but when Chip gets excited..."
"Sorry!" Chip called out, not sounding sorry at all. "But hey, at least now Sky knows why their phone always has full battery when they're around you!"
Sky's eyes widened. "Is that why? I thought I just had really good battery life lately!"
"Yeah," Ace ducked his head, embarrassed. "I kind of... subconsciously share calm energy with people I care about. It can affect electronics too."
"That's amazing," Sky squeezed his hand. "Though it does explain why my laptop never gets the spinning wheel of death when we study together."
"You're... really okay with this?" Ace asked hesitantly.
Sky pulled out one of their paper cranes – this one made from galaxy-patterned paper – and handed it to him. "Open it."
With slightly shaky fingers, Ace unfolded the crane. Inside, in Sky's flowing handwriting, were the words: "You make my world more magical just by being in it."
"I wrote that before I knew about your powers," Sky said softly. "And it's still true. Maybe even more true now."
The garden lights suddenly blazed brilliantly before settling into a warm, steady glow – a physical manifestation of the joy surging through Ace.
"Remy thinks this calls for a celebration!" Pa declared, flipping a burger with a unnecessarily dramatic flame flourish. "Sky, you like your burger medium-rare, non?"
"And now you know why we never have to worry about Pa's grilling getting out of control," Mom laughed, coming over to hug both Ace and Sky. "Welcome to our peculiar little family."
"Does this mean you can teach me how to make glowing paper cranes?" Sky asked Ace excitedly. "Because I have so many ideas..."
"After dinner," Mom insisted. "And after we explain the house rules about powers. Rule one being no using Ace as an energy battery for art projects without supervision."
"That was one time," Chip protested. "And the scorch marks mostly came out of the ceiling!"
As his family began sharing increasingly embarrassing stories about power-related mishaps, Ace felt the last of his anxiety melt away. Sky hadn't run. They were still here, still holding his hand, still looking at him like he was something wonderful.
"Hey," Sky whispered, bumping their shoulder against his. "Think you could teach me how to make those galaxy-pattern cranes actually sparkle?"
Ace smiled, letting a tiny pulse of energy make the paper crane in Sky's hand glow softly. "I think we can figure something out."
And as his family gathered around the patio table, powers on casual display – Pa making the candles dance, Mom using her enhanced strength to effortlessly move furniture, Chip creating tiny force field bubbles to catch falling napkins – Ace realized that sometimes the best secrets were the ones you got to share with the people you loved.
Even if those secrets occasionally caused neighborhood-wide power fluctuations.

I’m Not Talking ‘Bout Boys I’m Talking ‘Bout Them.
ఌ pairing: Naomi Mcpherson x AFAB!reader
ఌ Warnings: RPF!! homophobia!! , slight smut, slight angst?, fluff, fluff, and some more fluff, realization about the preferred sexual preference (if that’s even a warning)
ఌ Word Count: 3.5k words (major whoopsie…no it’s not)
ఌ okay so as you may not already know, this fic is based off the song ‘girls’ from girl in red. it’s basically the prompt of the story. another thing, this fic is loosely based off me, being a bisexual woman, and not experiencing homophobia personally, but seeing how others around me speak and feel about people in the LGBTQ community, i haven’t come out to my parents. so writing this, i hope this helps in anyway, whether it’s a tiny small or big significant way, to help whoever reads this know it’s okay to be queer. to love women. to love whoever the fuck you want to love. be yourself unapologetically and once you stop caring what the people around you feel, and stop thinking about how you may offend them for your choices and feelings, you’ll truly live a blissful life. okay that’s it, enjoy!

ఌ
❧ I've been hiding for so long
These feelings, they're not gone
Could I tell anyone?
You have always been an ally to the LGBTQ community. You had many friends who grew up to be gay or lesbian, nonbinary, all of the above. You even have family members part of the community. You didn't realize until you had hit high school that you were into a spectrum of people. Freshman year, you were curious and never even experimented with anyone other than boys. But by your junior year, you had realized you loved anyone…you were queer.
The thoughts of wanting to understand someone so deeply and have a beautiful connection that would manifest in a caring and long relationship, was all you seeked. It was never a phase that every teenager convinces themselves they're going through—it was real.
But you knew your parents. They'd say they were supportive because you had family that were queer. But now and then, the unsupportive side of them would slip and it made you scared for the reaction you'd get if you had said you not only liked men but everyone.
❧ Afraid of what they'll say
So I push them away
I'm acting so strange
You so desperately wanted to tell your parents about the feelings you had and the thoughts you wanted to share. You just could never get past the what if.
Any conversation about your love life you had dismissed. You couldn't possibly say that you liked a girl or someone who was different than themselves in their eyes. You knew it was getting obvious with the way you'd shut down the topic. You knew that your siblings would catch on.
The jokes they’d make about you being queer because you haven't mentioned the idea of being with a guy recently were starting to irritate you a little more every day. You just had to suck it up and "forget" to tell them about the most beautiful person you had ever met.
❧ They're so pretty, it hurts
I'm not talking 'bout boys
I'm talking 'bout girls
You don't know when it happened but you just knew you had to speak to this person. Their beautiful curly hair, the perfect height, the perfect style, the perfect facial features that were accentuated with the prettiest gold jewelry in their nose. They caught your eye the second you had walked into the club.
You had been with friends and you just couldn't stop looking. Your friends picked up on the longing glances you'd throw their way any chance the conversation got dull someplace.
"Just talk to them!" Your friend yelled over the loud music. "What's the worst that could happen?" They sipped through the straw of their drink while moving their eyes from you to the person you couldn't stop looking at.
"No. Absolutely not. They're way out of my league, dude." Oh, absolutely not. Your friend was not about to take no for an answer. They knew about your family situation. Even though you were a grown woman, your parent's opinions still mattered to you. What they thought of you was important.
"Babe, you are so beautiful and hot. Please be real here. They're coming over here anyways, now's your chance." They smiled, sipping their drink again watching the person walk up to the bar.
"Are you fucking serious?" You took a small step back and bumped into someone. Turning around immediately, you saw them. The perfect person you had been staring at all night long. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I did not know you were right there,"
"No it's okay, don't worry about it." They smiled at you. The height difference was stirring a nervous feeling in your belly. Like someone had released a butterfly sanctuary in your belly.
"Let me pay for your drink, it's the least I can do for someone as gorgeous as you." It slipped out. You hadn't even realized you said it until you said it and saw their face looking back at you. The embarrassment was unbearable. A small smile graced their features and they were thankful you couldn't see the small blush creeping on their cheeks.
"Oh, you don't have to but thank you. What's your name, pretty?" They leaned down so they could hear you better over the music. Your knees were weak.
"Y/n. And yours?" You looked at them, batting your eyelashes. It was hard not to try and make them interested. You thought they were so pretty, you had to have them.
"Naomi. Nice to meet you." You both smiled and insisted on paying for their drink. You paid for it and smiled. The smile faltered as you realized this may or may not be the very last time you see them ever.
"Hey—" You both spoke at the same time. You giggled and looked up at them, signaling for them to finish. "Can I get your number? Sorry if that's forward but your beautiful and want to know if you'd like to get coffee sometime?" They asked, leaning back up to gauge your expression.
"Oh yeah! I'd love to." You gave them your number and for the rest of the night, you both went about your own business with your separate parties. Catching each other's eye from across the room every now and then.
They were the most beautiful person you had ever seen in your whole entire life. It hurt your brain to even fathom how they could exist.
❧ They're so pretty with their button-up shirts
I shouldn't be feeling this
But it's too hard to resist
You and Naomi had hung out a lot of times after the club incident. You were so glad you had decided to get out of your house that night. You didn’t think you could sit through anymore phone calls of your mom telling you how nice her coworker's son was for the last 5 months. You did have to, every now and then.
They had told you they were in a band. A relatively famous one. You hadn't known any of that and were about to explode when they told you they opened for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour. What made you so oblivious to this information? You had been there. You even asked about the dates and you didn't even realize you had watched Naomi perform.
They also told you that they had a show this coming weekend and needed help picking an outfit or two for the music festival. They invited you over to their house, which was a pretty close range from your condo that you lived in. You had been over more than a handful of times. You guys have been seeing each other for almost 5 months, making it official in the third month.
"I say, you give me a fashion show and we can decide from there." You smiled at them. You honestly believe that you have never been this happy. Yeah, a few hetero relationships you had in the past you were happy. But you weren't truly happy. Not like this. You haven't told your parents about them but you truly wanted to. You wanted to tell them that Naomi had awakened a newfound liveliness to you. That they had made everything so much easier. You thanked your lucky stars for bumping into them five months ago.
"I say, that's a great idea, gorgeous." They walked up to you sitting on the foot of the bed, planting a kiss on your forehead, and then walking to the closet to grab an outfit to try on.
They changed in the bathroom and walked out in long basketball shorts, a white wife beater, a jean jacket, and a backward black LA hat. Heat rose to your face, and all over your body. Especially there. You blushed intensely and smiled. "So this outfit is a yes, then?" Naomi laughed as they noticed the immediate reaction your body had.
"Oh, hell yeah. I honestly think you should never take it off. Unless I'm taking it off you." You smiled and laughed. Their face flushed as they turned away for a second and looked back at you. You gave them a small wink as they walked up to you, crouched down, and grabbed your face pulling you into a kiss.
Both of you smiled into the kiss, which started to grow more hot and heavy. A small sigh left your nose and you pulled away. "As much as I love doing that, you have a fashion show to finish, baby." A small frown pierced their lips as they grabbed a few new articles of clothing from their closet and walked into the bathroom.
Walking out in a white button-up shirt, a tie hanging loosely around their neck under the collar, and black vintage Versace jeans. You absolutely loved this outfit. You loved the other one but something about this outfit made them look so professional, endearing, and just overall adorable. You had always loved when they would pick you up for dates and they were wearing an outfit similar to this with a button-up shirt.
"Oh my god, I love this nomi. You look so good." You smiled as you pulled out your phone and took a video. Naomi does a small spin before flipping the camera off. They laughed and immediately apologized. You both now laughing together.
❧ Soft skin and soft lips
The soft light from the sunset started creeping in through the bedroom window, adding an even more romantic ambiance to the room. Your soft pants fill the room.
"Oh..my...god." You sighed heavily, your hands gripping the sheets tightly. Your chest rose and fell with the swift motion and pace Naomi had set with their fingers curling inside of you. You could not lie and say this wasn't better than any sex you had ever prior to now.
"You're doing so good for me, sweet girl." A whiny moan left your throat as their soft praises and new pet name coaxed you closer and closer to the finish line. Your eyes looked into theirs. Your walls tighten around their slender fingers. How could someone be so good with just their fingers?
"Uh...don't stop. So close, baby." Your voice rose and thighs closed. "Just like that. I'm so close." You could not fathom the feeling they were making you feel. In almost a mere second, their fingers curled in just the right spot causing a soft scream to escape your lips.
"Oh, baby." Naomi looked down at you, head dropping to kiss up your neck. Their soft lips traveled across your jawline, lips brushing the lobe of your ear. "Let go for me." They whispered, another soft whine left your lips as you did what they asked of you. "Yeah, just like that, baby."
Naomi maneuvered their body back in front of your aching cunt. Sliding their fingers out, catching whatever slipped out with their tongue. You let out a soft cry, overly sensitive to touch as you were still coming down from what felt like the best high in your life. Naomi then put the fingers they had buried inside of you in their mouth, sucking and licking off any remnants of your orgasm off their fingers.
You wouldn't lie...you could've come all over again just by watching them watch you while they did that. They then placed a soft kiss on your clit, a soft satisfied hum leaving their lips. Their lips trailed up your body until they found solace on yours again. The passionate kiss left you breathless and tasting yourself on their tongue.
Naomi’s arms planted on either side of your waist, you ran your hands slowly up their arms. From their soft and slender wrists, all the way to the open expanse of their shirtless back. Naomi sighs at the cool sensation of your rings dragging across their body.
You then pulled them in for another kiss, your arms slung over the back of their neck. Your fingertips graze the beautiful crazy curls on their head.
You could stay here forever.
❧ I should be into this guy
But it's just a waste of time
He's really not my type
I know what I like
"No, mom." I am not going on a date with Nick. He's not my type at the moment." You looked at Naomi, an incredulous look on your face, a quiet tut of laughter leaving their lips as their hand glided up your thigh.
"Why not? What is your type then?" Your mom asked over the phone. You didn't know if you had wanted to flat-out say that you had been seeing someone. The someone being a famous queer public figure. Your mom on speaker, Naomi being able to hear the whole conversation.
They nodded their head at you, a look of encouragement in their eyes. This whole ‘your mom trying to set you up’ thing was getting old. You just wanted to tell her that you were so in love with your partner.
"Mommy, I'm already seeing someone. And they make me very happy, any more than a man could." Naomi squeezed your thigh, their head resting in their hand that was leaning on the back of the couch. You smiled at them, mouthing 'I love you.' They did it back. Big smile across their face.
"What do you mean "any more than a man could"? Are you dating a woman? Are you seriously dating a woman? Y/n, don't make me tell your dad about this. What do you think he'll say?" She sighed loudly over the speaker. You started to get super nervous.
You rubbed your other hand that wasn't holding the phone, across your chest. A heavy feeling weighing down on you suddenly. "No, mommy. They're not a woman either. They're nonbinary, which means they don't choose to identify as a boy or girl. I love them. They make me happy."
"I don't want to hear details about this gay relationship."
"I never said anything about that."
"Well, I don't want to hear about it. I have to go. And I'm going to tell your father about this." You didn't even feel nervous anymore. The hard part was over and you honestly felt irritated that your mom couldn't just be happy that you were happy. Why did it matter who was making you happy?
"Okay, whatever." You hung up the phone and flopped your head against Naomi's chest. "I'm sorry she said what she said, baby. I didn't think she'd take it that bad. For once I thought she’d just listen and still accept what’s happening." You looked up at them. They leaned down and placed a kiss on your lips.
"It's okay. We'll be okay. At least she knows now. The hard part is over, love."
"Yes. It's finally over." You both lay there on your couch, cuddling for the rest of the morning. You could only think about how their opinions slowly started to not matter what they thought of Naomi. It only mattered what you thought and you thought the absolute world of them. You had truly never met anyone like them.
❧ No, this is not a phase
Or a coming of age
This will never change
You and your parents had been fighting over the phone and dinner for the last week. They couldn't get used to the pronouns Naomi had gone by and not identifying with a gender, how they lived their life, and how we both chose to live it together.
You had slowly started to get over your parent’s projecting and ignorance and felt at peace with your life. With your Naomi. They had known how stressful this had been for you, so a nice romantic weekend was planned for the both of you. Granted the weekend had consisted of you two at Josettes parent's vacation cabin by the lake. It was honestly so beautiful.
The second night you were there, you celebrated your one-year anniversary with a nice candlelit dinner and walk outside by the dock. When you reached the end of the dock looking out across the lake, the moon casting the perfect light over the royal blue waters. "Naomi look how beautiful." You looked across at the landscape in front of you, your smile faltering when Naomi said they couldn't see it. "What do you me- Oh my god."
Naomi was on one knee, a beautiful diamond ring in their hand. "Holy shit. No way. Naomi." You couldn't help the tears falling and the laughing trying to hide the fact that you were literally sobbing.
"Y/n. You are so perfect. From your hair to your contagious laugh. Everything about you is engraved in my brain. I think about you when I'm thousands of miles away and when I'm right under you while you sleep against me." You could not stop the loud sob that escaped your throat. You immediately got on your knees and cupped their face. "I can't even remember what my life was like before you were in it and I don't want to know how it is after. I never want to have an after-you. This," they motioned their index finger between the two of you. Their eyes welling up with tears too. "Is forever. You and me. Will you marry me?" You kissed their lips, the kiss so tender yet so full of every emotion you could possibly feel in a moment like this.
"Yes. Yes. It will always be a yes, baby." You continued to cry as they slid the ring on your finger. You could not have imagined that this would be your life a year ago. You never wanted to forget this. Forget them.
Your parents would never understand you both. No matter how much they tried to will this relationship away. You both had already left an imprint in each other's lives. This was forever or nothing. Happiness or nothing. Your love for each other was never going away.
❧ They're so pretty, it hurts
I'm not talking 'bout boys
I'm talking 'bout girls
You had spent the next day at the cabin wrapped in the sheets and each other's embrace. The bliss that came with Naomi was something so sacred and real. You knew that when you looked at them.
You had woken up before them. The sun shining through the window behind you. Sitting up, wrapping and holding the sheets over your naked frame, you reached over and took a picture of their peaceful state of sleep.
The way the sun shines on their features, accentuating the gorgeous freckles across their face, you posted it on your Instagram story. The first time your family will see that this was never a phase. It was real and it was happening.
Captioning the picture, "I can't wait to marry you." You had tagged Naomi before turning your phone off and laying back down next to them. Snuggling in closer, they wrapped their arm around your frame and pulled you closer before placing a soft kiss on your head. You both had gone back to sleep. Just you two against the world.
❧ They're so pretty with their button-up shirts
They're so pretty, it hurts
I'm not talking 'bout boys
I'm talking 'bout girls
You knew you couldn't count on them to be here. The one special day that you'd ever have in your life and your family couldn't set their pride aside and be there. It didn't bother you much because you had friends and they showed up for you. That's what counted. That's the only thing that matters aside from marrying the love of your life. But it still hurt.
Josette had suggested she walk you down the aisle and you loved the idea. As you both walked down the aisle, you looked at her and then at Naomi. You three had all been crying as the seconds ticked that the marriage was official.
Naomi in their tux, you in your long white wedding dress. This was perfect. They were perfect. A button-up shirt never looked as good on them as it did right now.
❧ They're so pretty with their button-up shirts
'Cause I don't know what to do
It's not like I get to choose
Who I love
Your honeymoon consisted of laying in bed, sex, beach, sex, laying in bed, more sex, and sleeping. Falling for them was singlehandedly the best thing you had ever done. You could not believe this is who you got to do life with for the rest of it.
You didn't choose to be queer. But you sure as hell glad that it got you here in this moment.
❧ They're so pretty, it hurts
I'm not talking 'bout boys
I'm talking 'bout girls
They're so pretty with their button-up shirts
And they're so pretty, it hurts
I'm not talking 'bout boys
I'm talking 'bout girls
They're so pretty, it hurts
Being out, not giving a single damn about who had to say what about your marriage, was a blissful life. You get to watch your soulmate do what they love, be who they are, and choose you to be a part of it. Going through the suppression and ignorance to get here...was so rewarding.
Naomi. They were so pretty it hurt to even express the amount of attraction and admiration you had for them. You got to have them. All of them.
Forever.
ఌ loving someone for who they are is all that matters. Whether your bisexual, lesbian, pan, etc. You don’t owe anyone a damn thing. Even if your not out yet, that’s okay. You won’t be in the closet forever, you will be yourself openly and unapologetically, whether it’s tomorrow or in the next year (and i’ll be on that journey with you); Loving a woman, loving your partner, is not a crime. It’s not wrong. No matter what anyone says. They can’t take your love, your identity, yourself, away from you. Never forget it.

UA Class Movie Night (Kirishima)
(This is all Pre-S7 to avoid spoilers!)
‣ After some intense training, some of the girls in the class proposed that you all should have a movie night past curfew since the following day was a weekend
‣ Some people were opposed to it since they either broke the rules, wanted to sleep, or simply were just "above" engaging in group activities that weren't important.
‣ After some convincing from people like yourself, Kirishima, Mina, Midoriya, and Ochaco, you all managed to group everyone up and sit them down for at least one movie.
‣ There was the whole debate on what genre the movie should be, some people like Bakugo insisted on some... rather violent movies, some like Denki who suggested a rom-com, and then there were people like Midoriya who hinted at a hero documentary.
‣ Much to Bakugo's irritation and rejection, it was settled on some musical that was voted on. It didn't seem like the most entertaining out of all the options, but the most widely accepted among everyone.
‣ People like Sato and Yaoyorozu were rather pleased with the preparation phases for making food, and some others took the initiative to go out and buy the normal movie snacks.
‣ When everything was set and ready, you found yourself setting down a bundle of blankets on the couches everyone rearranged around a large TV in the commons when you heard Kirishima's voice speak up from behind you
‣ He held himself in almost a shy way which is unlike him, but upon realizing it was only because he wanted to ask you to sit next to him.
‣ It was a little painful to hear him scramble to find the right words to string together to ask in the least conspicuous way, but you eventually just held a hand up and told him you didn't mind and were planning on asking him yourself.
‣ He was relieved and.. honestly a bit jittery when he heard you say you were gonna ask him yourself. You could very clearly see it on his face-- he wasn't the greatest at hiding his emotions, but it made him all the more endearing.
‣ With that, everyone had food passed out and sat down on the couches, mostly sticking to their friend groups. Kirishima had came over as per your earlier conversation, and the two of you shared a maroon colored blanket.
‣ Everything went relatively smoothly, but you could tell Kirishima wasn't the most.. awake. He was definitely more of an action movie type-dude, which you concluded after seeing the way his blinking slowed.
‣ You didn't want to be too forward by telling him he could rest on your shoulder or change positions, so you continued to glance at him, watching the way he began to relax, whether it was due to your presence or because of the exhaustion from training finally hitting.
‣ By the end of the first movie he was already wiped, resting with his head craned back on the back of the couch. A few people left after the movie was done, but most at least wanted to stay for one more, enjoying everyone at peace and laughing together.
‣ You carefully took his head in your hands and leaned him on your shoulder, relieved he didn't wake up in the process. No one else seemed to pay all that much attention, Kaminari and Mineta already having fallen asleep too.
‣ As the second movie played, you couldn't shake the feeling of butterflies in your stomach when you glanced down at him. The slowness of his breathing against you and the way he was pressed next to you under the blanket made you want to almost protect him because of how peaceful he looked.
‣ The movie was mostly a blur since you were too distracted with Kirishima. During the credits you were tempted to let him continue to sleep, but Iida was pretty insistent on everyone returning to their respective rooms now that you all were finished.
‣ You carefully ran your hand against Kirishima's far arm, trying to wake him up as comfortably as possible. He stirred a few times before actually waking up. He raised his hand to rub his eyes for a moment before looking up at you. (SHIT HIS SKIN WAS SO SOFT)
‣ OH WOW was he cute. You had seen him tired before, but nothing beat this moment as your hand still kept in contact with his other arm. He looked around and saw most people dispersing before he flushed, looked at the two of you.
‣ You pulled your hand away, afraid of making him uncomfortable, but only then did you realize how warm he was, and jeez-- how warm your face was too.
‣ He laughed quietly when he saw your reaction, you avoiding eye contact. He pulled away which made you calm down a bit more, but also missed the contact. (You had it bad for him)
‣ You had gotten up with him and told him that if there was another time like this, you would enjoy it if you two would sit next to each other again, which he immediately agreed to.
‣ Despite him having fallen asleep for most of the movies, he claimed he came in and out of sleep, catching a few moments of the movies.
‣ Although it was more of a mumble, he added that he enjoyed you being by him the whole time and keeping him warm.
‣ He quickly departed after that, leaving you standing there in modest shock, your heart racing at that last sentence before you also turned in for the night.

Angel Boyfriend who is obsessed with the fact you’re trans. Humans are the embodiment of change as far as They’re concerned, and then you can change even more by even defying your societal norms and changing your gender?? They can’t handle it. They ask a thousand questions with a childlike curiosity. They support you in every decision you make.
They’re excited to help you fold up your old clothes and donate them, or burn them. They scream your truth beside you from the rooftops or just quietly help you navigate it, helping you keep quiet but wanting to help your defenses come down.
You just smile and thank Them every time. They just want you to be happy, and They are in awe of everything you are and everything you represent about humanity just by being you.

Soft Early Mornings
summary: Emily takes care you when you wake up.
genre: fluff and smut
cw: 18+ mdni! kinda softdom!emily, kinda sub!reader, dirty talking, praise, fingering (r receiving), reader has a vagina but nothing else is specified (the only word used to describe reader's genitalia is clit), reader is written as non-male because I can't imagine emily as anything other than a lesbian, cumming in pants (I guess it counts), no use of y/n, morning sex, crying during sex, soft/emotional sex
wordcount: 1.1k
You wake up to the warmth of the newly risen sun and Emily’s hand under your shirt drawing gentle circles on your stomach. You groan softly and she presses a kiss to your shoulder. “Hey, baby,” she whispers. Her voice is husky and quiet. She must have woken up not long before you did.
“Hi,” you whisper in response, pressing your back further against her chest.
She chuckles slightly and flattens her hand on your stomach to pull you closer until your body is completely flush against hers. She slips her thigh between your knees, parting your legs slightly, before once again dragging her fingertips softly over your skin.
You sigh with contentment and turn your head to look back at her as much as you can. Emily props herself up slightly, her hair falling over her shoulder and neck, and presses a brief and gentle kiss to your lips. You smile as she presses a kiss to your nose before tapping the tip of your nose with her own and settling back down into the bed.
You can feel her shift slightly behind you as she knocks off the bit of the blankets that managed to stay covering you both throughout the night despite your squirming. Being this close to each other provides all the warmth you both need.
“I love you,” you mutter.
Emily presses another kiss to your shoulder. “I love you too, baby.”
You hum happily and she chuckles in response. Her hand slips further up your shirt, tracing swirls up to your sternum and back down with two of her fingers. You let your eyes slip shut as you focus on the feeling of her hand, her love and care for you apparent with every soft design she draws.
Emily flattens her hand on your stomach again, just resting it there for a moment before shifting it so the tips of her pinkie and ring fingers slip under the waistband of your shorts. Surprised, you shift your hips slightly, pressing your body harder against her.
She raises up and presses a kiss behind your ear. “Is this okay?” she whispers.
A shaky breath leaves your lips and you nod eagerly.
Emily chuckles into your ear. “Words, sweet thing.”
“Yes,” you gasp.
She kisses you again and you can feel her smile against your skin before she settles back down. Her hand dips further beneath your shorts and you gasp as one of her fingers brushes over your clit.
“Such a pretty little thing,” she mutters. Two of her fingers settle over your clit and start rubbing gentle circles. The feeling makes you moan softly as little sparks of pleasure shoot through your body. The sound makes her chuckle.
Emily doesn’t increase her pace at all, even though you know she can feel how wet you are, moving her fingers just fast enough with just enough pressure to drive you crazy without giving you more. She peppers your back with gentle kisses as you squirm against her and you can feel her smiling at every little gasp and moan that escapes your lips.
She slides her hand further down and you whine at the loss of stimulation to your clit. The sound is quickly cut off by a groan as she sinks two fingers into you at once. “You’re so beautiful,” she whispers. You let out a little broken moan as she curls her fingers inside of you. The angle is perfect, allowing her fingers to hit that spot inside you while the heel of her palm presses against your clit.
“E-Emily,” you gasp weakly.
“Shh, it’s okay, baby,” she soothes. “I’m right here.”
You whimper desperately as she slowly starts to thrust her fingers in and out of you, hitting that spot and nudging your clit every time. She’s so gentle, making the pleasure build inside you slowly, burying deep in your gut and creeping up your spine. It’s overwhelming in the best way possible and you can feel tears pooling in your eyes. A soft and happy sob works its way free from your chest and Emily stills her hand but doesn’t remove it. She props herself up, leaning over you and tilting your head so she can press a long and gentle kiss to your lips. “You okay, sweet thing?” she asks softly. You nod and open your eyes to meet hers. You let your eyes slip closed again as she presses her lips back against yours and resumes the movement of her hand. Her fingers hit that spot again, making you gasp into the kiss. She pulls back and kisses where the tears have gathered at the corners of your closed eyes.
“You’re doing so good, baby. I’m right here,” she whispers. “I’ve got you.”
Heat climbs up your body and you whine desperately as you feel yourself getting close.
“That’s it, beautiful, so good for me.”
Her voice and words are so full of love and care and they drive you crazy, making you whimper and squirm.
“Em–“ you moan.
“It’s okay, baby,” Emily whispers, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. “Cum for me.”
As if on cue, you cum around her fingers. Pleasure washes over you and your body shudders. You moan and clench around her as she works you through it, whispering praises into your ear. When your orgasm subsides, Emily gently removes her fingers and you practically melt into the bed. It wasn’t a violent or overly powerful orgasm, but the slow build and gentle release of pleasure exhausted you.
Emily slips her leg out from between your knees and you roll onto your back. You open your eyes and blink up at her with a dopey smile, uncaring of the tears still on your face. Emily wipes her fingers clean on her shirt and props herself up on her elbow to look down at you. Her hair falls over her shoulders and brushes against your neck and chin, making you giggle slightly.
You reach up and tuck her hair behind her ear, both to stop it from tickling you and so you can get a better view of her beautiful face. “Hi,” you say softly, lowering your hand to rest on your chest.
“Hey, sweet thing,” she responds. She presses kisses to each of the tears on your cheeks. “Did so good for me.”
You feel your cheeks warm. “Do you wa–”
Emily shakes her head. “No,” she says softly. “This was just about you.”
She kisses you softly and you raise your hand to cup the back of her head. When she pulls away for air, Emily rests her forehead against yours, pressing the tips of your noses together. She slowly opens her eyes to stare into yours.
“I love you,” she whispers.
“I love you too.”

hey!! if u aren’t comfy w this that’s completely okay but can u write about luke comforting a non-binary reader!! maybe about his experiences w them? 🫶
𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭? 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐨
I’m alive! Thanks so much for requesting anon, sorry this took so long <3<3. I hope you enjoy this, from what you requested I thought it might be better in a headcanon. Happy pride month everyone!
Luke Castellan x non-binary!reader
Summary: Aphrodite girls can be rude, but at least Luke knows how to make you feel better
warnings: brief anti-non-binary comment, Shelley is a warning, this is kinda cliche sorry, reader is upset.

Let’s get one thing straight: our boy is a SUPPORTER
You wanna wear more feminine clothing? “You look gorgeous, babe.”
You wanna wear more masculine clothing? “Wow, you look great!”
if anyone ever misgenders you or assumes something he is quick to correct them
Kindly but directly
It’s kinda embarrassing sometimes, but you love that he protects you like that
Anyway, in this scenario, you’re shooting arrows with your cabin and the Aphrodite cabin
After a bit of practice, you have a game going on and you get paired up to verse someone from the opposing cabin.
You get paired with the new and Uber popular younger camper, Shelley.
Spoiler alert: everyone from your cabin is breathing a sigh of relief she hasn’t been paired with them
You shoot a few arrows, you’ve got great aim and you win by miles
Shelley is not a great sport about it
“Well I guess I can’t call you the archery king or queen since you’re not pretty enough to be either.”
You’re immediately upset and don’t really say anything, but walk off hurriedly to your cabin.
(The siblings who heard immediately come to your defence and cuss out at her, and most of the Aphrodite members are gagged and shaking their heads)
Luke is doing cabin checks with some other cabin leaders when he sees you running into your cabin. He follows obviously.
“Hey, hey, is everything ok, babe?”
You don’t really wanna tell him at first, so you say you’re fine.
Your voice cracks
He immediately hugs you tightly, only pulling apart so he can let you guys sit at the edge of the bed
You explain to him what happened, and he looks at you in disbelief and frustration.
“Y/N, babe, you’re prettier, hotter, funnier, smarter and better than she’ll ever be. You don’t have to ever be like a king or a queen, because you’re you, and that’s more than enough. It’s perfect. Just because you don’t feel like a girl or a boy, doesn’t make that a limitation for you. She’s honestly so stupid and mean and overall wrong.”
“I know, I know but it just hurt, y’know?”
He hugs you again, and you’re comforted by the warm and safe way he’s holding you
“Yeah, course. Want me to put her on washing up duty for a month?”
You giggle, and his face lights up, so happy that you’re smiling at him.
“How would you even do that, Luke?”
“Well… I can always find a way.”
(And he found one, all right. Shelley found out that washing up ruins manicures, even if it’s Revlon nail polish. She never said anything like that to you again.)

Knight In Shining Blue
2012 Leo x gender neutral reader
What happens when y/n suddenly has a panic attack late one night, and the only clear thought they have is to ask Leo for help.
!!TW!!Mentions of panic attacks!!TW!!
12:55 a.m., that's what the alarm clock read as y/n stared up at the ceiling, having given up on sleep awhile ago. Their room was dark, the only source of light being the moon and streetlights outside. The occasional honk from a car or yelling from a random pedestrian would fill the silence temporarily.
As y/n stared up at the ceiling, they couldn't help but pick up on all the little noises going on outside their room, a small creak here, another there. They knew no one other than them were in the house, their parents gone for a business trip, but that didn't stop the paranoia.
'What if someone broke in?' 'What if the Foot Clan found me? Or the Krang?' All those thoughts started to spiral in y/n's mind, and they froze. Fear keeping them planted in their bed, fearing moving an inch, would alert the "intruders".
Their heart raced, blood running cold as ice as y/n's eyes locked onto their bedroom door, non blinking, as if waiting for the danger to come crashing through their door. Tears started to form, their body shaking as y/n's senses heightened, making the quiet creeks sound like thundering footsteps.
Y/n's eyes darted to their phone seeing the screen light up, and before thinking twice, they grabbed it quickly. Thumbing through their contacts, y/n quickly looked for the one person they knew could help.
Finally, finding the contact y/n quickly pressed on it, opening their chat and sending one message, "help." Once the message was confirmed to be sent, y/n broke down, the tears finally falling from their eyes.
Y/n's breathe quickened, hyperventilating as their body shook, their handing covering their mouth to muffle the loud sobs leaving their lips. Y/n sat up, shuffling back to press their back against the headboard of their bed as they wrapped their arms around their self, nails digging into their arms.
Hearing the tapping on the window only made their panicking worse as they buried their head in their hands, fingers gripping their hair tightly. The tapping finally stopped, only for the window to open, causing a cool breeze to fill the room.
The bed dipped in front of y/n, and two three-fingered hands came up to rest gently on top of y/n's hands.
"Hey, hey, calm down, y/n it's okay, I'm here." Leo said in a hushed tone, calm and steady compared to y/n's loud sobbing and hyperventilating.
"There.. there's people in the house!" Y/n said between gasps, head still buried in their hands.
Leo looked towards y/n's bedroom door in confusion. He didn't hear anyone stalking around the house from where he was.
Looking back towards y/n's shaking figure, Leo's eyes filled with sympathy as he nodded.
"Alright, I'll go check, just stay here." Leo said gently as he slowly rose from the bed, walking towards the bedroom door.
Once in front of it, he glanced back over to y/n, his face full of worry as he opened the door and stepped into the dark hallway.Leo made his way around the dark apartment, making sure to check every closet and behind every closed door. Once every crook and cranny was checked and cleared, Leo began making his way back to y/n's room.
Upon entering the room, he noticed y/n had calmed down, somewhat. Their head was no longer in their hands but instead staring straight ahead, out the cracked window, the way Leo left it to let cool air into the room.
Y/n wasn't sobbing anymore, but the tears still fell from their eyes as they stared blankly out the window, non blinking. Their breathing was slow, as if the panic attack had never even happened at all.
Concern washed over Leo's face as he took light steps towards y/n, not wanting to scare them.
"I checked everywhere. There's no one in the apartment at all." Leo said slowly, making his way to stand next to the bed.
Now standing closer, Leo could see the distant look in y/n's eyes, like they weren't present in the moment at all. All he got in response from y/n was a small hum of acknowledgment, further confirming his suspension.
Moving to settle on the bed next to y/n, Leo couldn't help but rest his hand on y/n's hand that now rested by their side.
"Do...you need anything?" Leo asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the silence they both sat in.
A small, sluggish shrug was all Leo got in response, and he could only nod back, unsure of what to do or even say. All he knew for sure, is that he'd stay by y/n's side until they snapped out of whatever is happening to them.
Sure enough, after a couple minutes, y/n let out a yawn, blinking their eyes a couple of times before slowly looking over to Leo, a guilty look on their face.
"You didn't have to stay here the whole time." Y/n said quietly, guilt practically dripping from their words.
Leo just smiled, giving y/n's hand a gentle squeeze.
"I don't mind, I just wanted to make sure you were okay because, well... you mean a lot to me, y/n." Leo said, a small blush peeking out from beneath his mask, the blue color only making the blush stand out more.
A blush also spread across y/n's cheeks at Leo's words, a small smile forming on their lips.
"Well, thank you for staying." Y/n said sheepishly, returning the gentle squeeze to Leo's hand.
"Do you think you'll be fine if I leave now?" Leo asked hesitantly, not wanting to leave y/n's side, but also wanting to give them space if needed.
Y/n looked back towards the window, thinking over their answer for a of seconds before turning back towards Leo.
"Actually, do you think you could stay... maybe for the rest of the night?" Y/n asked, looking away from Leo's gaze in embarrassment.
Looking over to the alarm clock that sat next to the bed, it read 2:23. Leo thought for a moment before turning back to y/n, a comforting smile on his lips.
"Of course, I'm sure sensei will be fine with it once I explain everything to him when I go back." Leo said, his voice filling the room with a warmth, even with the cool breeze flowing into the room from outside.
Quickly looking back over to meet Leo's gaze, y/n couldn't help but smile as well.
"Thank you Leo, you have no idea how much better I feel with you being here." Y/n said gratefully, their arms wrapping around Leo's shell to hug him, at least as best as they could.
Leo quickly recuperated the hug, his strong arms wrapping around y/n's waist to pull them closer to him. In return, y/n rested their head in the crook of Leo's neck, their eyes closing as Leo traced small, random patterns on their back.
"Of course, no matter when or where, I'll always be here for you." Leo said, his voice practically dripping with honey as he leaned down to place a small, gentle kiss on y/n's forehead, already feeling their breathing slowing to a steady, slow pace as sleep washed over them.
HHOOLLYYY SPACE APPLES Y'ALL!! I FINALLY POSTED SOMETHING AGAIN😭😭😭
I'm gonna be completely honest here. This is totally self-indulgent. I crave to have this turtle comfort me during a panic attack, which makes sense since he's one of my first comfort characters ever. Also, yes, I do tend to space out like that after an anxiety or panic attack, but for the sake of writing, I made it seem way shorter than what I actually go through.
Anyway!! Feel free to request anything you'd like!! My request info is pinned to the top of my blog, and I'm always happy to write out anyone else's own fantasies or self-indulgents!!

Flufftober Day: "4+1"
Pairing: Sirius Black x animagus!Hufflepuff!reader
Summary: 4 times the marauders saw a big white dog plus the time they "adopted" it.
Word count: 1 282
Warnings: none, just fluff
Author's note: English is not my first langage, so please be mindful. Also, do not hesitate to tell me if there is any mistakes, i'll rectify it.
Author's feelings: I like the begining, i like the ending less. i might try to re-write it once the flufftober is over.
(Image found on google, credits to the original artist)
The first time the marauders met the dog was during a full moon. They were out during the night to go to the Shrieking Shack but Remus’ transformation appeared earlier and he shifted in the middle of the woods. It was a very difficult full moon that night, the three other men struggled to keep the wolf in the forest and not wandering outside towards the school or the villages. Peter had yet to transform, he was scared of the wolf he had to admit. It was comprehensible, when a full grown were-wolf is charging at you, you either run and die or are paralysed by fear and die. Luckily, a bark that didn’t sound like Sirius’ pulled him out of his paralysis just in time for him to shift in his rat form and dodge the wolf’s paw swing. It was now that a big white dog came out of nowhere, took Wormtail in its mouth and ran probably the fastest it could away from the wolf. The rat squeaked when he felt the teeth around his smaller form but realized the dog was still mindful to not squeeze too tight to hurt him. The dog finally released the rat a few meters away from the wolf who fortunately didn’t chase after them. Sirius went to check on his friend scared the dog was ill-intentioned but found it gently releasing the small animal and booped it with its nose as if to ask if he was alright.
After this, the unfamiliar dog ended up helping them during the whole duration of the full moon’s effect on Remus. The dog left before the sun rise, much to Sirius’ chagrin who would have liked to spend more time with a fellow dog.
“Mate, stop mopping, you’ll meet this dog again.” James tried to cheer him up later the next with a slap on the shoulder.
And he did meet the dog again. Around a month later. It was snowing heavily on the ground of Hogwarts and the marauders decided to have some fun and pull pranks in the snow when, at some point, Sirius heard a bark in the distance. He turned to his friends who heard it as well and, when they nodded, he sprinted to a secluded era and shifted in a dog, following a scent in the snow to find a white dog, the same white dog, playing in the snow as well. It was playfully growling and biting the snow when he arrived. He approached carefully when the other dog noticed his presence, head low but tail wagging gently to show he wanted to play. The white dog got into a play stance, head on the ground, butt in the air, tail wagging left and right and Sirius mimicked. The other dog jumped at him, biting his ear playfully and the two dogs started to play-fight. It lasted a while, until the two dogs were lying on the ground, paws in the air and tongues lolling out of their mouths. Sirius wondered if he should risk his new dog friendship and decided to roll on his side and shift back in his human form once the dog was looking at him. He saw the momentary shock on the dog’s face before he was the one surprised when the white dog also shifted to a human form. What was his surprise to see, in the place the dog once was lying in, the cute Hufflepuff he talked and joked with when they walked into each other in the hallways. They laughed it off and continued to lay on the ground for a while again, this time as humans, talking and laughing with each other.
“Shift back.” they had asked at some point.
Sirius was confused but obliged, seeing them do the same short after. The white dog slapped its paw on Sirius’ side, leaving snow paw print on the black fur. The dog then booped its nose against the side of his muzzle before leaving, strutting happily and disappearing behind the castle. Sirius was sure in this instant they had just flirted with him and quite literally marked him as theirs. At least, it was what he now firmly believed as he returned to his friends, doing a show of parading with the paw print in front of them. Today he did not just win a never ending list of teasing puns, he also got a situation-ship with another animagus, and by the little show he did, earned them a new nickname: “Snowpaw”.
The third time the marauders saw the white dog, was one evening when they were all in their dorm room. Well everyone except Sirius who claimed had some business he needed to do. So when James saw by the window his friend, in his dog form, running towards the lake where the white dog was waiting for him, he gasped dramatically. The noise attracted the other two boys who where quick to gather at the window to see a black dog and a white one sitting by each other on the lake shore, their tails on top of the other’s.
“-He didn’t tell us he had a date!” James voice was so high pitched with excitement, it could shatter glass.
“-Probably because he knows we will tease him for having a date with a dog.” Remus deadpanned.
“-I am the only one who realized this dog acts like Padfoot? Maybe its an animagus too.” Peter suggested, leaving the two other stunned. “I’m just saying.”
The last time they saw this, now, familiar dog was when Sirius dragged his three friend out of their shared room one day. It had taken some time for Sirius to convince Y/N to meet his friends. They were important to him and he wanted his lover and his friends to get together. However, Y/N wanted to take things slow, after all they only had been dating for a little over 3 weeks now and didn’t feel ready to talk to Sirius’ friends by fear of saying something to upset them. Even if Sirius reassured multiple times that they couldn’t say anything to upset them, Y/N was still adamant. So settle on meeting the friends in their animagi forms. When James, Remus and Peter got to where Y/N and Sirius were waiting for them, they were confused to see the white dog and Sirius waiting by its side in his human form. He quickly explained the situation and soon, his friends smiled wide, shifting into their animagi except for Remus who couldn’t but he was happy to just sit in the grass and enjoy the company of his friends.
It took Y/N some time to announce to Sirius’ friends who they were and that they were dating him, but they didn’t regretted it. It was nice to be part of a group now and to have someone who shares the same experiences as you. The relationship lasted long, very long, even after Hogwarts. It wasn’t a surprise when James took the mic at Sirius and Y/N’s wedding, doing his best man’s speech.
“-I have to say, I still feel betrayed that you didn’t tell me first you were dating someone, Sirius. I expected better from you.” he shook his head in disappointment. “Y/N I am very happy to have you, officially, in the family. Is this an adoption? It’s an adoption right?” people laughed at that, included the married couple.
“-You can count it as such, if you want, James.” Y/N went along.
“-Good. We are waiting for puppies now.” He said last then took his place back behind Sirius who had a hard time controlling his blush and laughter.
