#normal and hero aren't in this au much
cerealforkart · 8 months
Note
fairy princess au question: i can't rember if u said hero&normal exist in this universe but if they do-how do they feel about their mom being banished??
They do exist! I've talked a little bit about Normal's role in the AU here
I don't think Hero and Normal really get to talk about Sparrow, what she did and why she did it, and I think it's a major source of tension between them. Asking or talking about Sparrow makes grandpa Henry so sad and uncle Lark so angry, it's just become a bit of a taboo subject in the family.
To go into more detail starting with Hero, she feels very conflicted on Sparrow. She and her mom weren't particularly close before everything happened. Sparrow taught her everything about magic and defending herself and being a princess of the faewild (and probably queen someday), all things Hero isn't even a little bit interested in. Hero is really frustrated about Sparrow's banishment, but with her mom not around, she has nowhere to direct that anger, and she feels like she can't show it. She's the daughter of the woman who betrayed all realms, and as such she feels pressured to not show any weakness or be vulnerable because of that. She's upset her mom betrayed everyone, and she feels horrible about all the people that got hurt or died to protect their family but also, fuck all the realms, she just wants her mom back.
Normal 100% blames himself for absolutely everything. He was the one getting tempted to use the forbidden doodler magic, Sparrow is gone, and people got hurt, and most realms lost magic maybe forever because she felt like she had to protect him. He believes that everyone else blames him too, especially Hero since she starts distancing herself in the aftermath. Henry has probably had half a conversation with Normal about it, but it didn't really help. He's probably had half a conversation with Henry about it not being his fault, but he doesn't really believe him. A conversation with Lark wouldn't help because Lark thinks it's his fault and they would just go in circles blaming themselves and each other and it would be horrible. He does need to talk to Hero, but she doesn't want to have a vulnerable conversation. So he's just very sad.

Powehouse AU: aka Danny Fenton tries to be a normal college student in the midwest yet is forced to continue to be a hero in secret as ghosts won't leave him alone and soon, neither will the Justice League when he pops up as a new hero.
Additional info and art under readmore:
ANYWAYS, here is some powerhouse au information.
Tumblr media
Danny as he grows up manages to keep the ghost situation under control to a point he isn't overly active as Phantom. He finishes highschool no problem and goes to uni over in Central City for Maths and Engineering (not an overtly big fan of the space motif and instead, I'm shoving my boy into something cooler: PLANES! He's studying specifically mechanical engineering and has plans to go to a trade school after his B.S. for A&P mechanics.)
Sam goes to Gotham State University for Ethnobotany and works in one of the unis library part time. Tucker is going to Star City College for Computer Science and a minor in archeology, he tutors part time.
Danny's main design is inspired by a combo of military and blue collar uniforms (you can also see exactly what I reference). I also couldn't decide a face mask so you get all three options.
Tumblr media
So as Danny moves to Central City and attends uni, his rouges do sadly follow him and wreck havoc. Danny is stressed from school so he doesn't do quips as much, in fact, he's trying to get this under control as fast as possible so he can go back and study. Here's the thing, no one outside of Amityville has seen Phantom so all of the sudden what seems to be a meta? an alien? something not human? coming out and taking down rouges that, due to being ghosts, other heros struggle to contain and handle.
Speculation rises about Phantom and who he is. Danny is smart and thought this through, kinda. His costume is a modified look what he wore as a kid but he pulls in more military/uniform aspects to make it seem like he belongs to someone or some organization. That maybe somewhere in the US, an organization managed to make a hero of sorts that mimics Green Lanterns. It's just a big red herring, Danny wants them to look for someone older, probably more experienced, and a different background. Not some tired college student struggling with his studies.
Things do start to get dicey when heroes actively try to interact with him, mostly the Flash (because Central City), Superman, and the Green Lantern. Most interactions end up with Phantom not wanting to fight and fleeing or when cornered to fight, he's messy and inexperienced compared to the other heroes. He doesn't stay around and rarely even talks. It's concerning more so because the heroes aren't sure with who they're dealing with and after a few interactions, they aren't sure Phantom is on their side. Just too many questions around him.
This leads to heroes actively trying to capture and bring in Phantom. The more failed attempts that happen, the more flightly Phantom acts when they end up interrupting him capturing his rouges. They do eventually capture Phantom (thank you Superman) and that's kinda where I end on information on this AU. It's just me having fun with interactions and also designing costumes :)
ALSO DANNY IS ROMA/DIDICOY I NEED TO MENTION THAT!!! (Dick Grayson 🤝 Danny Fenton being didicoy)

DPx DC Au: Might as well be brothers. Young Justice hears about a regional hero disappearing, and while they've never met the guy, Red Robin's contacts say that Ra's is hunting him for afterlife/immortality related reasons.
Tim drake hates the annoying white uniform he's wearing but breaking into this place is crucial to his 24 hour plan to rescue Phantom. He'd never even heard of the guy until a week ago when Pru came to him with info that Ra's was looking into Midwest Real Estate, and then Tim stumbled down the rabbit hole of Ghost conspiracy theories until he saw an article demanding that local officials speak on the hero's absence of 10 days. 10 days was short enough that Tim might find a sign of life and well, another federal agency being hacked by Red Robin is nothing new.
So now, he's walking down the halls with these stupid fucking glasses and this stupid fucking suit while Kon listens from the comfort of the surveillance van. He takes a turn and sees the track suits that the illegally detained inmates are wearing, and pivoting the plan, makes his way to a locker room to get one and get changed. It does take him an extra second and he considers that this might bite him- but Tim knows the place inside and out. He's scoured all their data, and sue him for being cocky, but he has a literal alien ready to tear the place apart waiting for his heart rate to jump above 80 bpm. which is a pretty low heart rate all things considered.
Tim gets exactly where he's meant to go, and waits only a few minutes before he see's the science team extract Phantom from the high security room.
Phantom doesn't make it clear if he notices Tim, but he's basically being dragged by the couple, so Tim decides to beat them to their destination. The experimental wing had shown up in their reported data not long after they made it extremely obvious that they had Phantom in their data output.
Tim's already in the room when he starts to notice that it's not exactly a room... more like a mechanical space. The way the corners curl in the room make it almost tube like... Portal like.
Phantom is thrown in and Tim grabs him the second the scientists leave, but the kill switch key Tim made to get them out isn't working for this door like it did all the others.
"Not... Not a door."
"We're in some sort of device aren't we? Something of their own design that the government isn't aware they're funding?"
"Portal. You've gotta get out, even if you get caught, you gotta get out now."
Tim's comm comes alive in his ear, its Kon responding to Tim's heart rate rising- and Tim is hesitant to call him in but ultimately tells him to start flying over for extraction.
Then the portal goes off, and while he feels pain, he doesn't feel different. Bright light subsiding, Kon's arms around him with a confused voice, and lots of lasers being fired his way... Tim wakes up to see a much younger Phantom looking at him from the other side of the young justice couch.
Kon, Bart and Cassie are all fighting at a white board that's been wheeled in but Tim can only yawn and blink his way into consciousness enough to give a shit.
Black haired and blue eyed, button nosed with large ears, a wry thin lipped smile... Tim realizes that Phantom looks incredibly similar to his younger self. And then Tim looks at his much smaller hands and realizes that he probably looks a lot more similar to his younger self than normal.
Taking in the scenery once more, the white board is divided on the traits Tim has to the children sitting left and right on the couch. Kon didn't know who was who. That meant that maybe... the government didn't either.
Phantom turns out to be a pretty chill dude despite all the trauma, and he's incredibly prepared to both fuck with Ra's and the government in their newly found childhood twin-ship.
One of the twins is scarier than the other, and despite Danny literally haunting them, its always Tim.
(Okay now its some one else's turn :D )

A little something based on a sort of spin-off of @bunnieswithknives's Nature au that my partner and I came up with while chatting. The premise is under the cut because it's kinda of long :')
Conversation taken directly from Discord for efficiency's sake. Regular text is my own, bolded is @adhdemizel
The animal they witness the shooting as is a deer. The last animal Dale sees them as before they reveal their true form is a wolf
I have this concept based on the Nature au in my head of an actual changeling witnessing Dale shoot Dev, and because fae are all about rules and stuff, the changeling travels across the land as various animals until it finds Dale again, only to then reveal its true, monstrous form in the process of ripping Dale's own leg off. Because an eye for an eye and all that jazz
Using magic to blend in or to cover more ground, and finally finding them and SERVING JUSTICE--
After they rip Dale's leg off, Peri comes to investigate all the screaming because he's worried for Dev's safety, and he and the now-a-wolf-again fae, who's soaked in blood, lock eyes, and Peri sees the familar glint of magic, and he knows
Just an actual random changeling who lived in the forest. They aren't a god parent, but rather an independent fae
They have no tie to Dev, other than witnessing his injury, and then feeling the urge to restore the balance that Dale disturbed
They're acting on their own, but do you think they see Peri, another magic creature, and feel like he failed? Disappointed that they had to step up and make things right for another fae's human?
Mmmm not necessarily! I feel like an independent fae would still know the basics about god parents, and how strict the rules they're bound by are. I think they'd be more so angry at the god parent system overall
Peri, also angry at the god parent system
Secretly grateful for this other fae doing what he couldn't
Maybe he's supposed to report to Jorgen about this rogue fae, to keep them from hurting anyone else. But he doesn't
Turning away to let something huge slide because it was in defense of a kid he couldn't protect
I like to think that even Jorgen would have let it slide, if he'd known. Dale deserved it
He'd tell Peri he dealt with it as needed, but literally all he did was go "nice" and shred the report
The other fae goes back home and let's others in the area know to watch out for a one-legged fae hunter with sharp red hair, just in case he tries again
He probably would try again. Now that he knows they're real, he's determined to catch one
That might have been one benefit of Peri actually telling Jorgen--Jorgen would have wiped Dale's memory and made it seem like a normal animal attack
Do you think he'd drag Dev along again?
Oh, certainly. He needs bait, and he can't risk anymore of his own limbs. It was Dev's fault he messed up as bait the first time. He needs to make up for that failure
He plates his prosthetic with iron for extra protection
Not permanently, because it's unsightly, but also not for Dev. He doesn't want anything to ward fae away from Dev.
Surely any changelings who saw Dev would know he's much too young to be the hunter they were told about.... Right?
Fae have impossibly long lifespans, he might look like a child, but all humans seem too young to them
You're right. And he matches the description so perfectly...
I guess it will have to be up to Peri to protect him, when he comes down to it. Lord knows Dale has better things to do
Dale, not-so-secretly hoping Dev gets into a confrontation so he can swoop in- not to play the hero in any way, but so Dev doesn't get in the way again

Introducing my Sonadow fankid, Talia! She's a part of my AU "Ultimate Lifespawn"
I'm love her ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ (more info about her under the cut!)
Name: Talia
Age Range: 18-19
Pronouns: She/Her
Basic Info: Talia was born in secret research facility known as "Opus." Along with thousands of other test subjects, they were created by mixing Shadow and Sonic's DNA to become a counter to the Ultimate Lifeform. It was called Project Ultimate Lifespawn.
They were made to subdue the black hedgehog and/or destroy him, should he prove to become too powerful, or a threat to peace. Months of testing and several lost subjects later, the researchers found the five perfect candidates. Talia was one of them. However, the project still needed time, as the five subjects would either lose control of their abilities, or lash out dangerously. So more tests were in order so that they could be controlled. They were then put into a stasis, while the researchers began to examine them.
There time was up however, as Shadow discovered the research facility alongside Team Dark. They fought through robots and the research facility was destroyed by the end of it all. Having arrested and confiscated all of the research that remained, they stumbled across the five children.
Three of them perished as their stasis chambers malfunctioned in the fight in the research facility, but the other two were still alive. Shadow was prepared to end their sad lives and spare them, but Rouge insisted that they were only children; his children.
Thus Shadow reluctantly took the five children out of the facility and to Tails to further examine them, and once things were settled and they met not only one dad but two, they began living as normal hedgehogs ever since.
Extra Facts:
Talia is pansexual
Her favorite color is gold
Her favorite food is chili dogs and toast with jam
She smells like strawberries
Talia is the peacemaker/glue of her friend group; always trying to help the others settle things from petty arguments to big fights
She loves to dance and enjoys teaching others how to dance too
Always happy to help those in need and can sometimes rush in headfirst if someone is in trouble
Can be reckless and sometimes doesn't know when to stop
Talia has super speed and strength much like her dads. She can also use chaos control but feels nauseous when she teleports so she prefers to run to places
Very jumpy and is afraid of ghosts and horror
Her best friends are Amon (Knuxouge's kid) and Aurora (Silvaze's kid). They are considered the next generation of Team Hero
Is very smart but gadgets and technology aren't her specialty area in terms of her intelligence
Loves her aunt Amy and even emulated her hairstyle as a kid and it just stuck
Her main inhibitor ring is her hair tie (very rarely does she remove it, but even if she does she still has decent control over her powers)
Story / Art / Fankid by me @/izuizzy do not steal/trace/repost/edit/use

Oooh, Double Kryptonian AU is super interesting! Does Clark get them all somewhere safe? Maybe the Kent farm so Ma and Pa can look after them?
Tumblr media
Dyam is already asleep, breathing softly where he's curled up in a hay bale and a sleeping bag. He's still easily swayed to sleep most of the time, his energy wanes much faster than his brothers and father, his body is trying to catch up to itself while it heals. Jon sleeps next to him, simply always eager for a nap.
Dic sits close to the fire, watching the flames and the sky all at once, his long hair pulled up and back and out of his face, the once greasy strands now cleaned with Martha's simple soaps, there's a kind of peace to him, listening to the way Kara talks his ear off about the teenage hero's their own age.
Jae is the quietest, he normally is, reading a book with his back to the fire so he can see the words on the page, his hair is curling around his mask, nobody on earth had seen the boy without it yet. There's a barn cat that's curled around the old camping chair that Jae occupies, purring up a storm and occasionally moving when one side of it's black fur gets too hot.
Te however, is pulled up on an old log that never got cut, holding a stick and asking Kon to explain himself one more time.
"It's not hard." Kon explains, patient and smiling. "It's just a kind of food. You like sweet things." Te scrunches his nose up, his own long hair is not nearly as neat as his brothers so it falls down around his hears and chin. His pale eyes watch the chocolate bar like it will bite him.
"I'll go first." Kon stabs a jumbo marshmallow through the stick he's holding, grabbed perfectly out of a tree this morning in preparation of tonight's main event. "It's easy to do, there's no wrong way to do it. You burn the sugar, you put it on the chocolate. You sandwich it in between graham crackers."
"The Google says that it has to be gold." Te's English words aren't as smooth as when he speaks his native language, but he's been much better at learning English than Kon has been at learning Kryptonian. "You say it needs to be burn. What is correct?"
"There's no wrong way to do it, buddy." Kon laughs, "Try it how you saw it on google first though, okay?"
Te nods, once, and copies Kon motion, spearing his own puffy marshmallow and sticking it much farther than Kon's reckless sort of arsonist approach.
They roast their food, smelling the sweetness burn over the fire, hearing the sounds of family, the night air, and they concentrate.
Kon goes through three s'mores by the time Te is finished with his first, the golden crust cracks when Kon helps Te place it down in between dutch chocolate and thickly covered homemade crackers.
Te's first bite is like a revelation.

It was getting too long so...
Okay this was VERY long but I love it all. So much food, and very much alive when possible. And yeah they're very much venomous.
... oh gods you're making me hungry for food that isn't even safe even if it existed 😂
Also, I feel like Ivy's plants would, ah, sometimes move if they don't like where they're currently planted. If your neighbor is taking better care of your flowers then you might wake up and see them over there, you just learn to deal. 😅
Ooooo I love that. And I feel like, to Aquaman, it would be like speaking in Pig Latin + Esperanto mixed with the heaviest Scottish accent ever. He can tell it's words, but he can't really understand it.
Also, Bruce singing lullabies to the kids, just imagine. Jason or Dick or anyone shows up having a panic attack and Bruce starts calming them down. First in English, then aquatic, and slowly morphing into a lullaby.
Oh definitely, those other heroes will be struggling. Almost feel bad for them.
The medical professionals must be paid well, and Gotham University probably ends up with a very heavy metal degree that most people might assume is for vets not human doctors. 😂
Oh my gods Helena yes. Poor Supes, and I love the JL freaking out. Also, her bottle HAS to be a little pink, because of the blood that's probably in it. Also, I imagine they're born with weak venom, and drinking their parents' blood lets them process and produce stronger toxins.
I bet Dick and the other kids probably have the same weird food habits and their teammates aren't really sure what they're supposed to do. Sometimes Tim will fall asleep in the middle of lunch and whoever is in the same room will get to see his lunch run away. Probably a bit unnerving. 🤣
I like the idea they might do them for 'major holidays'. Not on the holiday, because Calendar Man (on the holidays is Gotham only, they fully expect him to show up, he's practically invited without saying anything outright), and that's the Outsider Galas. Not just one a year, but not like 20 of em either.
And yeah, aside from runaway food, Tim is pretty good with outsiders. He probably wouldn't eat 'normal' (normal for Gotham anyway) around his team if he didn't trust em or something either. This is probably another reason Bruce made him CEO. 😅
Yesss uncanny valley please. Everyone is freaking out internally, and yet at the same time they can tell they're safe... for now. Servers doing their job, and Gothamites not revealing anything, unless someone does something wrong.
Yesss the rogues. Honestly I just want an AU where the rogues are basically family.
||=====||=====||
"Oh yeah that's aunts Harley and Ivy, they can be fun but don't drink the wine."
Then (controversial I know but also heavily depends on the AU)
"That's Uncle J, we're on tense terms with him but he's got the best drinks if you don't mind letting a bit."
Maybe
"There's not-dad Harv-"
"he's Uncle T right now-"
"-that's Uncle T, don't gamble with him or ask about his coin collection unless you want to stay a while."
Or
"Don't mind Uncle Cobbles, he's a little competitive with B about their family histories, but other than that and birds he's pretty calm."
Even
"Yeah don't mind Uncle John, he's probably more nervous than you are, doing spook him and you'll be fine."
||=====||=====||
Tumblr media
Yesss so many photos.
Also, there's two wedding photos. One he shows to outsiders, the other is up at the major as a painting and is the same wedding photo but underwater.
... Ras don't bother your son-in-law's friends please, they have enough on their plate. Seriously, stop. 😂😅
Bruce probably confuses everyone even more by knowing the assassins.
Oooo yes. Sharks, aquariums, oh my. I love all the animals you mentioned too.
... so I randomly looked up 'Victorian modern punk' because why not and...
Tumblr media
This was the top result.

hotwings au where hawks is a fallen angel who happens to crash-land in dabi's backyard on his way down.
hawks' wings are from his status as an angel rather than a separate quirk
i'd like to imagine that quirks aren't really a thing that they're up to date on, as well as being pretty behind in, like, everything else
imagine hawks going into this with an ariel-like disposition
anyway this kicks off with hawks crashing into dabi's backyard in the middle of the night
dabi, who's obviously awake, gets up to go investigate what the fuck that was (naturally assumes someone's here to kill him, as any normal, not-paranoid-at-all person would think)
hawks is very upset (landed on his wing wrong and maybe broke it, which, like, "OWWW...." this guy has never felt pain before and now he's human, which is cool conceptually but why do humans feel pain?? are they like this all the time?? who would do this to them??)
which leads to dabi finding hawk in a pile of limbs armed with a broken wing tangled in the clothes lines that he never bothered to take down after he finally saved up enough for a washer-dryer unit
at this point in time, dabi hasn't been scouted by the league yet, but he's not struggling to survive. he's found a small townhouse to reside in, one story, one bedroom, and a small backyard
(the backyard was an important detail to him—sometimes dabi needs to just. bask in the sun. feel warm when he can)
hawks sees dabi and assumes that he must be someone from hell, and it was some sort of cosmic fate that brought the two together
(hawks has always been the hero-type, even as an angel. he doesn't want to defeat people, rather, he wants to help them.
(hawks is just terribly naive, which impedes this goal of his by a lot)
dabi drags hawks inside once he's figured out that he isn't with the hero commission after threatening to burn the rest of his feathers off (which, the fire isn't helping hawks' case against him)
hawks can't really just say he's an angel, mostly because he gets the feeling that saying as much to someone like dabi would go very sideways
so he spins a story about being kicked out of his home and having nowhere to go and no family to take him in even if they wanted
which, it's not really stretching the truth at all. that is what happened. he just omitted a few details
dabi is stabbed by a violent wave of sympathy that he tries to suppress at first, until remembering that he'd have done anything to have support from someone like dabi is now back when he had been scared, alone, confused and hurt
and even though hawks is cheerful enough, dabi can see the mask he's wearing—he's hiding something. something that hurts
so dabi nods, accepts this answer, and offers hawks the couch for the night, which hawks gladly accepts (and ignores the way his eyes get wet)
the next day both wake up, remember the night before, realize it wasn't a dream and think, fuck
dabi's gotten himself saddled with a roommate—cuz even if he wanted to ignore him, it's too late now, he spent the whole night turning the situation over in his mind and kicking him out would make dabi's already fragile emotional stability skew out of control
and its finally settling into hawks' head that he's been kicked out and he doesn't know where he's going or if he'll ever get the chance to go back even if he wanted to and he's doomed to spend the rest of his life wandering the earth looking for acceptance that will never last
tldr both are having mild panic attacks
dabi finally tries to address the situation by like, asking what hawks plans on doing or if he knows anyone that could help him out
which gets dabi a look so pathetic he immediately regrets asking
("fuckkk he's so sad and lame. what am i supposed to do. it's like staring at a miserable puppy with a bag full of treats in your pocket and pretending you don't know they're there.")
dabi grits out an offer:
stay here and figure out a way to pay rent, and dabi will do his best to fix up hawks' wing so he can fly again but also so it doesn't cost a million dollars to pay for the treatment in the first place
(dabi's plans consist of roaming the underground to find a doctor that could help the both of them out and threatening them—dabi's been putting off finding one for himself after his skin grafts start looking nastier than they should and this is the push he needs to get to it)
hawks, oblivious to this, agrees pretty readily
dabi nods
a moment of silence. then:
"is your real name dabi, or—"
"i'm not hearing this from you, hawks."

Alright so, who's ready for a cowboy au!!
General premise of it:
Gideon Coal is on the hunt for the hobgoblins that took his family away from him and has left him a permanent scar. With the help of a crew he hired, he'll finally seek his revenge.
All characters are their normal races just not their classes. So...Avantris that got hit with the western stick. Just so there's no confusion.
And they all have different nicknames but I haven't thought of much...still a work in progress.
Characters:
Gideon Coal:
•The leader who's fiery revenge is gonna make for a mighty risky plan.
•His outfit is like Orville Peck's if it was more chaotic and messy.
• (Thank you @obsidiancreates for this idea) He looks like a mess on purpose, since he's had too many people doubting him, might as well adapt to it. His guns doesn't look clean so people assume he's got no game and will get himself killed.
•His fine weapon of choice is his Pappy's trusty shotgun and a dingy revolver that was left behind when the hobgoblins invaded. He's a tank that likes to go head first and do as much damage. Although he's not fully advanced with the revolver, he gets the job done with it.
•He's a massive risk taker, getting into fights with the wrong people to get what he wants and a big shit stirrer whether it's flirting or sleeping with another man's girl or just pick pocketing from his winnings. If it's a risk, it's already worth it.
Kremy Lecroux :
•The proud owner of the Hungry Catfish after running away from his old employer. When he's not making sure the patrons of his bar aren't ripping each other to shreds or causing mayhem or doing finance, sometimes he likes to go down and give a show. Whether dancing or singing, he'll put on a show for his patrons.
•He's the only one not affected by the hobgoblins because he runs away whenever he's paranoid and feels like they are too close to his business or his life. But he knows too many stories.
•He can be a flirt but it never goes far because although he doesn't look like it, he's a fighter.
•He's the closest one that maybe has magic, however, it's all just a magic trick, smoke and mirrors as he performs.
•His performing outfit consists more of a regular button up, a corset, leather gloves, normal leather pants, and a big jacket. And his actual outfit is something I have to get drawing on. He does wear his makeup for each outfit, his performing outfit more of the typical voodoo paintings and then when he's out, it's a hand made skull mask he made.
•Weapons of choice would be his two ranger guns that sit on the lower back of him and his cane that doubles as a hidden sword because I do love me some hidden swords.
•You can make a deal with him, whether it's getting him for a heist or helping you get the money you need from a game, he's your man as long as you can pay him with as much as you got. (60 - 40 like he said)
Morning Frost:
•A working farm hand that got his knack for shooting things across the way when he had to quickly grab his mom's rifle and snipe a hobgoblin that was about to grab his friend. He got a few more shots in before the hobgoblins finally got away from his village. He was regarded as a hero and forced to learn the ways of the world pretty harshly. Now in the future, his knack for the rifle has landed him to be able to turn off his emotions in a pinch to get the job done, although it bleeds through when the going gets tough.
•His outfit, and this may be obscure, is going to be a sort of ref to Tigerclaw from the 2012 TMNT, just without the eye patch and adding a few more details to make it more cowboy aesthetic.
•His weapon of choice of course is his mom's trusty rifle that he cares for deeply and makes sure it's in tip top shape everyday.
•He's calculated, knowing risks and how dumb it would be to do something, but he's not above going in and sniping for a job if he desperately needs the money.
•He still lives in his village, now a protector of sorts and still practices his shooting to hone it even though he's already good, but good just isn't enough.
•He has 2 lockets around his neck that his mom and dad wore, each containing a faux gem that he feels represents them with a picture of each them. I will say the jewels later but I have to do my research on jewels.
Gricko Grimgrin and Hootsie T. Grimgrin:
•A man in the midst of woods and barely any civilization, Gricko lives for the hunt. With his daughter and trusty companion Hootsie, they scavenge all they can for their meals. Unlike the rest of the guys, they are so far into the woods, that they don't know any stories about hobgoblins nor have they even heard anything that sounds like a train. What is a train to them?
•Because of hunting, he's mastered the art of traps and the usefulness of materials. Everyday, he makes a new trap or stocks up on old ones, just to be ready. On his scavenging, he finds things that people who venture too close have and makes more of his weapons like makeshift bombs or fixing himself a knife as best as he can. Basically a wild man.
•Weapons of choice would be his makeshift bombs, think of Sokka's bomb from Avatar, and a janky knife he tried to make using bullets he found on a random corpse. It does it's job and that's all that matters to him. I am debating on whether or not to give him a gun, but I want to get everyone different guns. Still debating.
•Hootsie was going to be one of Gricko's marks, but Gricko does understand nature more than anything and took pity on the owlbear cub that lost its momma, and now he raises her as his own, inseparable. Now, she helps with scoping out prey and sniffing out when people are near.
And that's what I have so far! Hopefully I can fully get more of an idea for them and can get the map fully to really scope out how much these hobgolbins have fucked with everyone, but for now, take these disconnecting things. Torbek and Twig will be here as well, but I'm also trying to figure out their backstory and their roles in this without overlapping a bunch. The drawings I will have to add later because Gricko's and Frost is something I have to workshop. Especially Gricko because I want to make him a wild man but not a savage, anyone catch what I'm putting down, you know. If not it's fine, but I just have to think of his outfit. Anyway Enjoy!

How abt a crack au where after the cultural festival class 1a decide to all quit school and be a band full time, and they become so popular that most villains give up villaining to go to shows instead and to make sure 1a dont feel the need to switch back to being heroes
1- a quarter of the class has already committed vigilantism, Izuku just encountered two more and is musing on the meeting while riding the high of Jiro's song being able to do for Eri what several heroes couldn't, so a lot of the class is like "well it'll be fine, we can do music and help people on the side, technically until they cancel our provisional licenses or they expire in three years, it won't even be illegal."
2- Todoroki, who doesn't have his licence yet, weighs the pros and cons. He'd like to not have to go to any more remedial lessons where his dad shows up when when he's not supposed to. He asks Jiro about more ice and fire effects, and agrees to go. Tensei was in the family audience and tells Tenya he did an amazing job, which Tenya takes as permission and encouragement to go even though that's absolutely not what Tensei meant and he had no suspicion of the plan at the time. Uraraka looks at the streaming numbers and how much they can earn even with low priced tickets, and agrees. Etc etc etc
3- Bakugou only agrees because Kaminari needled him about being too good to. Unlike Todoroki, he does still attend remedial classes and sends in his normal assignments to UA, somehow while in the band full time, and in the group constantly on the run from Nedzu and various others trying to hunt them down.
4- crime rates plummet to pre-Kamino levels due to villains realizing if the kids stop the band, they're all screwed. The fact that several different villains go to a show and somehow aren't seen again doesn't really get out though to warn anyone off, probably because nobody cared about the Chimera and Mummy, and because when Tomura sent Dabi to find out where Twice and Toga had vanished to, he didn't bother to look.
5- Most of the vestiges are unhappy with this decision to join a band, Second and Third loudly complaining about the immaturity, Yoichi quietly confused and disappointed, Hikage nursing a permanent headache, but Banjo is thrilled, En doesn't say anything either way but wanted to be in a band himself when he was alive, and Nana's just glad Izuku's having fun and helping people smile. For his part, Toshinori is having a blast and is amazed at how Izuku is getting stronger with his quirk even focused as he is at using it for shows and dancing. AfO is a distant threat but one he knows Izuku can handle if he ever breaks out of prison, and in the meantime he needs to make sure all his former students are eating enough to keep up their strength. Hey what's that black stuff coming out of young Midoriya's arm-

okay i know technically Crepus week is already over but i want to start sharing a bunch of my Genshin headcanons on here so I'm pretending i'm totally not late and jumping on the bandwagon by starting with him so let's go
Fatui Crepus Headcanons
(including how he got the delusion, why the Fatui assassinated him, and how he met his wife)
(adapted from some ideas i had for the AU i have with @applesandcecilia that i decided i liked enough to make them part of my canon universe hcs. we named Diluc's mom Selene for that so that's what I'm going with it's a pretty name)
Hopefully this makes sense? I always feel like halfway through typing these kinds of things out that it just kind of devolves into rambling and a bunch of meaningless nonsensical crap. I swear my headcanon lists aren't going to be this long normally this just got weirdly intensive.
Word count: 2,025 (there's also a TL:DR at the end if you're curious but don't want to read I have no idea how this got so long I've written actual complete fics shorter than this)
The Ragnvindr clan has always been a clan of heroes. From the rebellion against the Decarabian all the way down to Venessa's rebellion, wherever great things in Mondstadt happen, you can expect that a Ragnvindr will be there. So naturally, from the moment little Crepus could even pick up a toy sword, he was training to be a knight.
While their son spoke much of his plans for joining the Knights of Favonius, Crepus' parents had other plans in mind. They had been unable to have more than one child, and as the sole heir of the Ragnvindr clan, were relying on their son to carry on the family's thousand-year legacy of the Dawn Winery. They dismissed Crepus' dreams of knighthood as nothing but foolish childhood daydreams, and offered very little support in his efforts.
As Crepus got older, however, his need to participate in the protection of Mondstadt only grew stronger, especially as Abyssal monster activity increased. But in addition to a lack of support from his parents, he also lacked the physical strength he needed. He had been a sickly child, often in bed with a fever or other illness, and although no healer could find anything specifically wrong with him, it was obvious to everyone that even in times of health he was weak, struggling to run as fast or as far as the other children.
Crepus did everything in his power to overcome his physical challenges, but when it came time for the squirehood tests at age 12, he struggled greatly and was rejected. He continued to try every year for the next four years before finally accepting his fate at age 16 and agreeing to begin studying with his father to prepare for taking over the winery. He took well to his new duties, but he was still dissatisfied and restless.
During his training and attempts to join the Knights, he had caught the eye of the Captain of the 8th Company who offered to take Crepus under his wing. He found that the captain provided the support and encouragement he was missing from his own father, and the two became very close. Unbeknownst to him, however, the captain was also serving the Fatui, and, believing that his repeated disappointments would leave him open to suggestion, the captain approached him soon after his final rejection with an offer to join the Fatui.
At first Crepus was taken aback at the revelation that his mentor was acting as a Fatui spy, but it didn't take long for him to grow used to the idea. The Fatui, as the captain put it, was really no different from any other military organization in Teyvat. Even the Knights of Favonius often operated in the gray zones of morality. What really mattered was the results. The Fatui was going to destroy the Abyss, and if Crepus wanted to help protect Mondstadt and participate in a great cause, he needed to be a part of them. The Knights of Favonius weren't willing to work with his weakness, and the gods refused to recognize all his hard work and ambition with a vision, but the Fatui could see beyond all that. In fact, they could even make him stronger -- a delusion, they called it. The power of the elements right at your fingertips without having to wait on the fickle minds of the heavens.
Ultimately, Crepus agreed, and before long he was provided with a delusion, a rank, and a code name -- Brighella. It felt odd for a while, operating in secret, communicating with an organization that had been deemed an enemy of Mondstadt by so many for so long, but he was doing something, and more importantly, it was making a difference. Through the missions they sent him on, the Abyss monster activity took a sharp decline, and children that had once been kept inside by their fearful parents returned to the streets, happy and carefree. He even began using his position as the Dawn Winery owner's son and its associated business travels to take his efforts to the other nations, and he was quickly promoted and commended by his commanding officers.
Surprised they had even managed to recruit a high society Mondstadtian, Crepus' commanding officers were careful in their use of him. They kept him away from Snezhnaya and as disconnected from the main body of the Fatui as possible, focusing him on Abyss related plots in fear that being involved in more intensive Fatui matters would let his nobility get the best of him. But Crepus' enthusiasm for his newfound calling was an opportunity that couldn't be missed, and the more he accomplished, the deeper they pulled him in.
By age 18, Crepus was recognized as a full fledged Lieutenant in the Fatui, leading his own Special Forces unit in secret comprised of other non-Snezhnayan agents and spies. His mentor's words about the Fatui's results had largely proved themselves true as well; crime in Mondstadt and the other areas his unit operated was at an all-time low, and Abyssal activity continued to fall similarly. But the price of his successes was higher than Crepus realized. Though his superiors remained careful enough to not arouse his suspicious, they found that his position in Mondstadt gave them access to valuable information that he gave willingly, not realizing the importance of what he knew, and he gradually began taking missions more and more blindly, not realizing he and his unit were being used in increasingly nefarious schemes. Before long, Lieutenant Brighella's Special Forces unit had become one of the most dangerous branches of the Fatui, primarily due to just how few people even knew of their existence.
Eventually, Brighella and his unit became a point of interest for an underground network of anti-Fatui intelligence and rebellion, and realizing just how powerful the Fatui could become if they expanded their efforts, they sent one of their most powerful members to capture the Lieutenant: a young Hexenzirkel witch named Selene.
Expecting a cold-hearted, ruthless Fatui brute, Selene was quite caught off guard to find a charming, lighthearted, clever young man, who was even so bold as to outright flirt with her as she made her kidnapping attempt. There was an instant chemistry, and Crepus took the confusion it caused as a means of escape, thus thwarting his would-be captor.
Selene tried again many times after that, but Crepus found a way out every time, and somewhere along the line, the pair found their respective attempts at capture and escape rather half-hearted, instead using them as excuses for playful banter and even eventually meaningful conversations.
As Selene came to understand Crepus' reasons for joining the Fatui, she realized that he was completely unaware of the way his commanding officers had been manipulating him, and her attempts at his capture were soon replaced by more earnest attempts to get him to see just how bad the Fatui truly were. And as Crepus begin to fall more in love with Selene, he started to see past his youthful need to find meaning in his life through the Fatui, but didn't fully realize the magnitude of his mistake until one fateful day he would never speak of again.
Selene almost panicked that day to find Crepus at her doorstep, bloody, breathless and terrified, but her resolve soon took over and she put her magic to use in concealing him from the Fatui and ensuring that so long as she lived, they could never harm him.
Determined to do everything he could to right his wrongs, Crepus turned himself in to the Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius -- his newly-promoted childhood friend Varka -- fully prepared to serve prison time for his treachery.
Though distraught by the news of his friend's betrayal to Mondstadt and concerned at how far he had been misled, Varka truly believed that Crepus' heart had been in the right place, and ultimately made the decision to keep his records sealed and privately pardoned him for his crimes.
Shortly after, now a little over a year after their first meeting, Crepus proposed to Selene. Unaware of what their son had been doing in secret for the past 3 years, Crepus' parents were confused and upset by the news of his engagement to a woman they had never met, so they were forced to elope. With no place to stay in Mondstadt due to his parent's disapproval, they decided to volunteer in Selene's network for a time.
Two years later, Crepus finally reconciled with his parents. He returned to his duties in preparing to take over the winery, and for once in his life, finally began to find joy in them. Pleased by this, and now eager for Crepus to settle down with his wife and start a proper family, his father decided to retire and pass the Winery on to his son early.
Though all was well for a time, and it seemed as though Crepus had successfully escaped his past, shortly after giving birth to Diluc, Selene fell sick with a rare disease, and while she recovered from her symptoms well enough to begin caring for their new baby, she was informed that she could no longer have any more children as she had hoped. Over the next few years they sought help from the best healers in Teyvat and even Selene's Hexenzirkel sisters, but her disease continued to progress and she passed away when Diluc was only five years old.
Beyond his devastation at losing his wife, Crepus once again had to worry about the Fatui. The Hexenzirkel provided some protection for him, but without the constant presence of a witch in his home, they were still somewhat vulnerable, and now he had a son to protect. Although they had wanted to destroy it altogether, Selene was worried what the consequences of doing so would be, so they decided to hide Crepus' delusion in Dragonspine. Despite his promise to her to never touch the dangerous artifact again, Crepus retrieved the delusion a few weeks after Selene's funeral.
His determination to protect his family only grew after taking in Kaeya, and while he was never forced to use the delusion, he often carried it with him, particularly while traveling. He debated for many years about if or when he should tell his two sons about his troubled past, worried that simply knowing about his life as Brighella could put them at risk. He finally decided that when both boys were 18, he would have the difficult discussion, but before Kaeya could join his brother in coming of age, Crepus was killed in the incident on Diluc's birthday.
With no letter left behind from Crepus and no instructions given on what to do in the event of his death, Varka debated on whether or not to tell his sons about his Fatui involvement, but before he could make a decision, Diluc suddenly left Mondstadt and Kaeya renounced both his inheritance and ties to the Ragnvindr family. Feeling that it would not be best to try to find a way to inform both boys at that point, Varka kept Crepus' records sealed, even through the investigation of his death and Eroch's removal from the Knights
It wasn't until Diluc was saved from the Harbingers by the same network his parents worked in that one of the members recognized him as Crepus' son and told him the story of his father's past and how his parents met. Diluc then recounted the information in one of his few letters home to Kaeya, and despite the initial shock of the information, both boys found some peace from it. Diluc had finally found the truth he so desperately sought, and was pleased to learn that so many, even those who knew of his darker side, had considered his father to be a truly good man. And Kaeya, still struggling with Diluc's reaction to his revelation of his own troubled past, found a sense of comfort knowing even his adoptive father he looked up to so dearly had secrets, and that perhaps he may have accepted the truth about the son he had taken in after all.
TL;DR: A mentor convinced Crepus to join the Fatui after he got rejected from the Knights and had to be dragged out of it by a Hexenzirkel witch that worked in the same network that saved Diluc from the Harbingers

I need to put this out into the universe
typically I avoid modern AUs because real world boring
but I inhale them like crack coccaine when it's got reincarnation and past life memories
=======
Basically imagine like Tim living his life on a Boring Plain Earth and then bam, memories of a Gotham that does not exist, heroes that can never be and magics that never were flood his brain; maybe something trigger his memories, maybe it just happens
or mabye it's slow and steady idk
----
So let's say that Bart not only failed on his quest to prevent the Bad Timeline but it got so bad that the planet, maybe even parts or all of the multiverse as they knew it died
And ever since then an Earth just like ours has been recieving reincarnators from that dead world
the heroes, the villains, the rogues, some civillians, etc.
----
There's two ways we can do this. Everyone is human, eventually recieves their memories at some point in time, finds eachother again, and is reassured they aren't insane since so many fellow supers, heroes and villains and rogues alike remember
Because of this they have to live in a world where their abilities used to change the world are pulled from right under them. (powers and maybe even civillian capabilities, money and connections)
The power they held is reduced to the civillians they saved or terroized once up a time
As for ordinary humans like the Bats or Amanda Waller? A plain world is gonna be a learning curve, as is having no supernatural safety nets, but maybe they'll adapt faster
I wonder if Clark feels guilty and thinks he's selfish for the joy he feels now being a normal human like his reborn adoptive parents, despite it being the furthest thing from the truth
Oh yeah, Wonder Woman, she may still be Greece on this new world but any connections she held with the Gods is just like every other person. There now exists a hole where a huge part of her first live's people and culture once were
Aquaman would have it rough, especially with how awful our and thus his new world treats the ocean
also if Damian was made artificially in his past life, imagine Bruce's relief if he were to succeed in having him with Tahlia this go around (assuming he gives a damn about the kid here)
okay but imagine Alfred being the first to wake up past memories, slowly or suddenly, and his POV as the Wayne family comes back together and remembers their own past lives
----
Another route is that they still keep their powers (if they had them) but only by a fraction. The users can tell and still use the power within them, but it's so much less than what they had before
How much power? Enough to maybe change the status quo if they applies their nerfed abilities smartly enough. Maybe. That's how little raw power they have left. Emphasis on the raw, but other aspects of their powers may be nerfed too
THis turns strategists into a more essential boon than ever before, powered folk would find themselves searching, flocking or entangled with reincarnators like Lex or the Bats because they have brains
Oh yeah the Flashes, on one hand, their metabolism is more human, on the other hand all the time they couldda spent thinking is yoinked and their connection to the Speedforce is so little that even if they wanted to, they're incapable of time travelling to restor their old world
Can ✨science✨ undo all this nerfting? If you wanna, sure but I think the answer of "absolutely not" is more fun
----
Circling back to Amanda, I wonder what her view on her new life is/
Would she still go for a government position after remembering everything? What would she strive to do with it?
Would she track down other reincarnators? Which ones in particular? What would she think of them now? Would she involve herself with anyone from her past life?
This depends on which take you have on this AU
In the Wholly Human route, she might only have people who never had any non-human or other special abilities to worry about, the Bats, Joker, the Pengiun, etc.
But if they still have Scraps of Superhumanity? Yeah she's gonna lock into focus with whatever plans she has for this no longer ordinary world.
----
this begs the question of who would see this crueler but less superhuman world as the chance for an ordinary life and take it?
who sees this world and continues to live their new life as they did their first one?
how does being in a world where they and/or other reincarnators are either wholly human or still have a fraction of their power left affect their decisions or views on this wolrd and whatnot?
I'm not gonna get into the logistics of our world suddenly becoming a Superhero Setting-lite, especially with governments or whatnot finding out cuz brain mentling
but also like, the superheroes and vigilantes, if they continue their old way of life, are gonna have to shift from a Superhero way of doing things to more of a Spy genre way of pulling things off
if they still have powers everyone outside of the loop aka not reincarnators will be so confused lol, who these criminals? (cuz methinks they'd get labeled as such)
----
Also there is The Question on if DC exists in their new world or not because the confusion and humor to be spawned from there being a Batman running around ("20 bucks it's a Watchmen irl" "30 it's a prank"), Clark Kent keeping his name after adoption cuz his parents remember ("parents have high hopes for you little hero") and Lex having to pick a different name for his corp cuz of Copyright, and these reincarnators adventuring the DC and Fandom Rabbit Hole
oh god I'd read a whole fic on that last one
But in a "zero DC media" Earth, we could get away with this planet being a lot more like canon, like Bruce being a billionare (and learning the hard way he'll be seen just like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, etc.),
The Internet would break if they realized their plain world became legit Superhero World-Lite, even more so if there were powers, especially if DC media exists
----
this AU was meant to be reincarnators introspecting on their past lives, coping with being mere civillians with maybe power the rest of the population had not, coming to terms with only barely being able to change the whole wide world anymore, being forced to give up being a super due to circumstances outside their control
but the Superhero Genre Conventions parasitized it lololololol
I find modern AUs to be pretty boring as well. However, I absolutely dig the angst in this one.
All of the DC characters regaining their memories would be devastating. Since they are all "human", this would fuck with some of their concepts of self, identity, and culture. I can't imagine existing in the exact same place I've been and gaining memories that I was different or more than I currently am.
Like, what if some of them never became anything? What if, outside of DC, their lives are miserable? What if it's better?
Also, for those who are happy to be human, I bet that would be an unpopular opinion. Everyone else who's gaining their memories are grieving over a time they just learnt about, but these characters, maybe who have been ostracized or hurt by their abilities, are secretly glad they are human.
There's just so much pain and confusion and lost of self in this AU.
There's also crack (like Bruce Wayne still having a "Brucie" persona even without Batman).
In this AU, if there's no powers, there might still be a need for vigilantes. Just not in the way they are for DC. I can imagine Barbara is hacking and bullying the government, as she should. Bruce is influencing other rich people to weed out who's corrupt, committing heinous crimes, etc. and then utilizing an anonymous persona to turn them in.
I wonder if Joker was living a normal life, he got his memories, and then decided that was way more fun than whatever he was doing before.
The Bats might be fine, but anyone with powers is gonna struggle to do what they did before.

Hi so got any ninjago x reader recs? Ever since reading Wisps, it has affected my brain chemistry and now i crave for more ninjago x reader content but im picky when finding fics, so got any recommendations?
Hello there! I had fun sorting out my bookmarks and history so recommending fics might be a thing in the future?
Just to note, I am not sure how to really curate your taste so most of these are what I essentially enjoyed reading and been a fan of so forgive me if some (or all 😭 no hard feelings though) aren't your thing.
Let's see...
Honestly Wisps is the *best* so far in my opinion! I don't know if this is pure coincidental but I am also hunting for some ninjago fics to feel emotions again lmao! And I tried my best in remembering what I've read or interested in so hope these are all ok for you!
+ Second best in my opinion is the 'Infinity Series' by Joos according to their quotev because at ao3 it's orphaned [ao3; quotev book 1 & book 2 ]
Unfortunately, the author has stopped updating this fic but going back at it was really enjoyable like in the Wisps. The summary according to the first installment 'Infinite Serenity';
"[Name] has died and became reincarnated in a childhood TV show of hers. She is raised as the adopted daughter of Sensei Wu, training as the Master of Infinity. Once the plot of the show really gets going, a being resurfaces from her. They claim to have revived her and can help her unlock the memories from her previous life. Now, [Name] must rely on this being to help protect Ninjago, and discovers how her past connects with her present." TW: Suicide, self harm, child abuse, some gore and swearing (please pay attention to the tags)
Please please heed the trigger warning, I don't remember much from the content but I definitely recall the author tackling those tags in a respectful way. The love interests are Kai, Nya, Jay, Cole, Morro and platonic with Master Wu and her cousin Lloyd Garmadon. Again, second best recommended fic in my opinion.
+ Next one, this is not one series but user Circus4APsycho8 (they have ao3 and tumblr) in my opinion have the best x reader one-shots from the fandom! My all-time favorite work of theirs is 'Secret Someone' [Highschool AU! Lloyd Garmadon x reader]- this one is really sweet ❣️
Here's these links for their ao3 works and their tumblr ninjago masterlist. All simple yet sweet, I love their writing style.
+ The next one is purely Lloyd Garmadon x Female Reader titled 'Butterfly Effect' by samsea at ao3. I think they're still updating and I am a big fan of hero x civilian pairings and just they're cute and in love.
Summary: "If it was up to Y/n L/n, she would read the summer away, lost in history books and adventure novels, finding excitement in their written words. Meeting Lloyd Garmadon changed her plans. Suddenly, Y/n is living a life she'd only read about; summer romances and cotton candy dates. Perhaps this was a new normal she could get used to. But she's been fated - prophesied - to be with the Green Ninja. And where there's a green ninja, trouble usually follows." Warnings: "The butterfly effect has mature themes such as gore, violence, toxic friendships, sexual themes (no smut) and cussing. the butterfly effect is not intended for younger viewers. Trigger warnings will be placed on chapters as they are needed. if you have any questions or issues please contact me."
Again, heed the warnings but the writing and atmosphere overall is really sweet and for some reason all cuddly and sunny. IDK but maybe I am always soft for Lloyd lmao.
+ If you're up to reading only x reader head cannons then I recommend user mouschiwrites here in tumblr. Their requests are closed now but the head cannons they made are cute and entertaining, like I can definitely see this character doing that y'know. Here's their ninjago masterlist
+ Here's some honorable mentions, I believe they deserve some love too!
In the Shadow (Various love interests) by RoseRain at Quotev
Legend of the Lightspirit (Various love interests) by softie at Quotev
Actually, while finishing my school projects I'm also checking out from another user snazzilystoopid's ninjago recommendation. So far, I am enjoying their second recommended which is 'Element of Wishes' by yourfavoritecloud at quotev BUT this one is an Character x OC one so if it's not up to your alley they have few recommendations. Honestly, I am up to anything as long as it entertained my monkey brain.
Sorry for the long post! Hope these works are okay for your taste but the closest fic that gives off the same vibes as Wisps is the Infinite series. And these are all by my own opinions and the fics I remembered catching my eye. I am very much open to other recommendations or shout-outs.
Side note, there's not much Ninjago fics out there that I might let my monkey brain loose and create one myself LOOOL.
Again, thank you for asking ( I feel honored for being asked by this, I'm a fanfic nerd 🤓)

𝐎𝐃𝐈 𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐌𝐎.
❝ loving you is the highest crime I'm willing to commit. ❞
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | in which Scaramouche reveals you the reason why he hates you so much. But in the silence that comes after his hatred is revealed, and from the unspoken words that never leave his lips, would it be too selfish to ask for something more than this?
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | GN!Reader x Scaramouche; angst with an open ending; mention of kidnapping; could be read as romantic or platonic; a "what if" route in the Fallacy of Love CYOA series; spoilers for the Sumeru Archon Quest; cursing; SAGAU themes (but not the creator thingy) more of this AU in my masterlist if you want to read them!
𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | Uhhh look, I have no idea if Scara could go out of his robot without breaking those stuff in his back? But let's pretend that he could for the sake of the plot xD also, tell me if you want a part 2 cause this one felt kind of a cliffhanger to me hahaha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time that the game revealed his true colours, you knew that Scaramouche was not one for pleasantries. Perhaps he would if the situation calls for it, or if it means getting his way into tricking his enemies into lowering their guards down before he swiftly strikes them down. But in terms of normal conversations, he was like a person who wouldn't hesitate to call you 'fucker' or something insultingly similar.
He canonically called us 'suckers'. You inwardly snickered at the memory when you first heard it. It was kind of surreal, you know. Back then, you were hoping and praying to Hoyoverse that Scaramouche would be playable and don't let him end up like Signora. And now, he was almost playable!!
Only if you yourself weren't isekicked in Genshin Impact in the first place…then you'll be rejoicing in getting this angry purple guy with mommy issues into your party. And if you weren't thrown in Teyvat, you wouldn't also ended up in this…peculiar position.
"You…" Scaramouche's thunderous voice echoed in the vast chamber, his magnificent robot hovering behind him in a threatening manner. The artificial light that casts over the massive room gives highlight to his ethereal features, giving you time to admire his otherworldly—albeit angry—beauty. It was as if he was planning to skewer you alive with his sharp gaze if you wouldn't give him your full attention. "...You aren't afraid of me at all…"
You couldn't help but to feel shock at his surprisingly accurate observation. While it was true that you were kidnapped by the Sages and their minions, you almost immediately relaxed the moment you heard Scaramouche was the one who ordered it. After all, you knew his lore in-game at the very least and what will happen in the Archon Quest so it wouldn't really matter if he kidnapped you or what.
The Traveller and Nahida will come and defeat the false god, restore the Dendro Archon's reputation and power, save the Irminsul, and the Traveller was once again being crowned as a hero of a nation. That was written in the 3.2 version of the game.
Scaramouche is written as a villain who was destined to be defeated. But in the end, even he would probably be redeemed and would inevitably befriend the Traveller since he will become a playable character.
"...Duh, what are you talking about? Can't you see I'm shaking?" You felt a cold sweat on your back as Scaramouche inched closer to you. Though he was on the smaller side of the male characters, his charisma and appeal isn't lost to you. Especially now that he was glaring at you as if he was ready to plunge you away like what he did to the Traveller in the fighting cutscene.
"No, that's not it…" Scaramouche gritted his teeth, before he grabbed your collar and forcibly made you look straight into his burning eyes. "...that look in your eyes, that way you're looking at me right now…I despise it, I loathe it more than I despise the Traveller and everyone in this world!"
"Wha—?"
His hand on your collar tightens when you start to struggle under his hold. "Everything you told me, every expression you gave me…I remember it all. Everything was etched into my mind and I…I won't ever forgive you!"
“What in the name of the Archons are you talking about?” Even if there was a pit starting to form in your stomach, and even if he started to shake you out of sheer rage, you forced yourself to not waver under his maddening gaze.
You have no idea why he hates you so much, nor the sins you seemed to unknowingly commit to him. You were not like the Traveller who could go head to head with him and actually defeat him. You were not like the gods that abandoned him, nor the Harbinger that used him. In fact, you are a nobody to him. Nothing but an addicted gamer of Genshin Impact that was isekai’d in Teyvat for some cruel, unknown reason.
So, why does he hate you so much to the point that he ordered you to be kidnapped just to spit in your face how much he despises you?
“—Back then, when I invaded your mind, you confidently told me that everything I did would be futile and pointless, so it's best if I gave up my plans to save myself of the pain," intense anger bled through his tone, the venom on his voice made you tremble inside.
You remember that. It was during the part where the Traveller touched Haypasia and Scaramouche connected into their mind. But to your surprise, you were also connected to him. Although everything played out just like what happened in the Archon Quest, you still tried your best to convince Scaramouche to stop whatever he was doing—just like the Traveller.
You said it out of pure concern for him. As much as you want everything to play out what it was meant to be, a small part of yourself didn't want to see him suffer with your own eyes when Nahida and Traveller defeat him and take the Gnosis that he treasures so much from him.
You don't want to see him so miserable and lifeless as if his very soul had been ripped apart from him. You especially don't want to see him plummet down from his 'godhood' with no one to catch him as he falls—just like a discarded puppet that he so believed he was.
Still, you don't understand his spiteful words towards you.
"—but now, I understand." There was a sudden calm in his voice that made you slightly nervous, like a brewing storm ready to swept you away. With a harsh tug of your collar, he leaned forward until his face was mere inches away from yours. You couls feel his ragged breathing, his gritted teeth, and his anger. "...you have no right to judge me, mortal. You have no goddamn right to judge people like that!"
You felt as if Scaramouche threw a bucket of cold water into you.
"I…" Judge you? You wanted to say, but all you've managed was to look at him with wide, horrified eyes as realisation slowly dawns on you.
Genshin Impact is a video game with a strong plot and fictional story, played by millions of people across the world. Scaramouche is one of the villains, the antagonists, who has done nothing good to the main character. He was someone who was just a mere supporting character in order to make the plot interesting, someone who, just by existing, is a catalyst to the plot of Sumeru Archon Quest, who had a sad backstory in order to grab the heartstrings of the players.
A cash grab for the simps, to cruelly put it.
Scaramouche could never win this battle because that was how this world was set. He could never have the Gnosis because he was written for something much different.
No matter how hard he tries, no matter how much he struggles, he will only just be hurting himself because his actions are futile for the future had long since written.
The villain role that was given to him is fixed and cannot be changed.
"You were looking at me, thinking that my actions are useless, that I would never become a God, that I will become even less than what my creator thought of me when she abandoned me!" Scaramouche shouted at you and with so much vigour, he finally let go of our collar. Your knees gave out and you were left kneeling on the ground with a daze expression. "—when you were looking at me, gazing at me with those sympathetic eyes as if I'm someone who challenges the absolute impossible!"
No, its…its not like that.
But you felt sympathetic and empathetic at Scaramouche because just like you, he had no chance of winning this battle. He was not the main character. He was a villain, a supporting role, like yourself.
This is a world inside a sick game, where each playable character was moving and making choices based on what was programmed of them. They have no control of their choices because that's how the game's flow works.
But all this time, maybe unconsciously, you were seeing—judging—everyone you met here because you knew they were not real. They were programmed characters made to entertain the gamers.
But Scaramouche…
The Balladeer was so different as he himself shattered your little world. His blazing purple eyes even bluer than what you expect.
And he looked so real. So human-like and yet god-like at the same time.
"—I will become a god," he said with finality, so sure of himself that you almost believe him. He turned his back on you and walked towards the giant robot hovering in the distance, the elegant flutter of his sleeves was so real. "—And I do not care if it will be useless. Because unlike you who easily give up, I make my own decisions and I will forge my own future the way I want it to."
As you listlessly watched the Traveller and Nahida slowly but surely defeat Scaramouche's god-like form, watching the familiar battle scene of the Shouki no Kami unfold before your eyes just like you see back in the screen of your device, for the first time since you arrived in Teyvat, you realised that perhaps, despite his artificial origins, Scaramouche was the most human of them all.
...One that you have no right to judge so rashly as he continued to struggle and fight under the harsh thumb of his cruel fate.

𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I had this brainrot a lot because I know that a lot of us must've thought along the lines of 'i can't wait to beat up scara' or something along those lines lmao. Ik cause i'm the same LOL. But what if this behaviour had bleed into you when you were isekai'd? Like ofc they are all video game characters, they are programmed and coded to act like what the script told them to, but I felt like Scaramouche fit the trope that wouldn't just give up easily even if the 'ending was already decided' so that's why he hated the reader because he thought that they were judging his actions as useless and futile, even if the sentiment comes from good conscience in our part! I just hope I manage to deliver the feelings well because im not really good at describing stuff 🤡🤡💀

part of the reason why i find nightmare time episodes so interesting is because in half of them, i'm not even sure who the writers want me to root for.
take honey queen, for example. linda's the focus of it and we see her emotions, motivations & family, so it's expected that she would be the "hero" of the episode. but she isn't. the episode consists of her doing horrible things to zoey, zoey doing horrible things to her, and it gradually escalating to the point of kidnapping and murder. it's due to linda that zoey dies. and she gets what she wants, what the whole episode has been about her vying to achieve, but we as viewers don't feel satisfied, because how can all that's happened possibly be worth such a tiny, temporary, meaningless title? linda's father seems to be proud of her, which is what she's been hoping to gain and added an extra element of sympathy for her character. but in the end, he sacrifices her to an eldritch being because she "the hungriest". honey queen is tragic and comedic and messed up and chaotic and there are The Horrors and nobody is distinctly good.
and that stays the same in every nightmare time episode. so many of these characters wouldn't care a bit if they killed someone, as long as they were able to survive. but that's just hatchetfield. a strange community of selfish people with no clear morals, because that's all they know and that's all they can be if they want to survive. they have a magic child fighting ring, they have evil weed birds, they have clones in the technical department, they have an asexual axe murderer in the woods, they have a wealthy doting mother who's been alive for centuries, they have a 1986 foxbody mustang possessed by a dead psychiatrist, so on and so forth.
the whole hatchetfield universe is so surreal: this is a place where people go missing every day, where gruesome murders are dismissed unless it threatens their football team losing to the clivesdale chemists, where a character can do the most horrendous things or seem absolutely irredeemable, only for the narrative to put them through so much that the audience ends up loving them.
each character is so complex and unique (i could write an essay about literally any of them if i tried to- and yet that includes peanuts the hatchetfield pocket squirrel). none of them are meant to be all good, and none of them are meant to be all bad. they're realistic to their environment and screwed over by their universe and they all have their own lives to focus on.
the vast majority of the antagonistic characters are very beloved in this fandom, because this is hatchetfield, where the most horrifying things are normalised in-universe, so they begin to be for us, too. we don't think it's as awful when we see zoey's body hanging from the rafters, or watch boy jeri be killed by his own son, or see eldritch beings hunt people down, since that's all seen as far more normal in this world. besides that, people like to have flawed characters, it's good to have little fictional freaks committing atrocities since it means the episodes are completely unpredictable.
every volume of nightmare time is a rollercoaster or a fever dream, because they'll take the most unexpected characters and the most random concepts ever and throw them into a completely absurd plot. so many modern pieces of media follow a specific genre or structure, but the hatchetfield universe does whatever the hell it wants, and it's so investing to see. there aren't any limits here, and each episode is a separate timeline, so the creators can go wild and do literally anything with this town. it's like a treasured collection of cracky aus that have been written and performed astonishingly beautifully.
anyway, this is your sign to go check out nightmare time and @blinkysrewatchparty! it will be entirely worth it, i promise <3
