#I don't generally talk about this on here #ever #but the bechdel test post made me think about it again and #wanted to try to put it into words #at the risk of being dogpiled by people who don't really understand what I mean #seb and I have this joke “jaydee hates women”#and it's partly true #I hate how women are portrayed in the media #not just fictional media #but news media and even anecdotes #there's a certain way that people are taught to perceive and expect to perceive women #I'm not an exception to that #I grew up in the 90's with GRRRRRRL POWER #and then in the 00's when cis lesbians were more visible in media and online #and then in the 10's when trans women joined the parade #and LOTS of people #especially artists #choose women and the portrayal of women and femininity as the focus of their art #the tradition of womanhood the reversal and then abandonment or transformation of gender roles #retellings of fairy tales and old stories etc etc with women in the lead and romantic roles instead #that's all so incredible and I love that for you #but when I excitedly click on art of what I think and hope is two trans men or even nonbinary people and find out #that it's actually two women #especially two sapphic women #I feel like it's saying “this isn't you.”#people like me don't appear in amazing and beautiful art and people like me aren't discussed and lauded #I feel like if I could embrace being a woman and force myself to romantically love other women #then I'd be accepted and could feel good seeing myself in the art that I love #but I'm not a woman #I don't romantically love women

One of the best things about Disco Elysium by far is that it does not fear ugly women. The world is full of ugly men, but ugly women are so hard to come by.

What's your favourite Disney movie? And does your preference for the dorms have any influence on their movies and vice versa? Like I know you love Diasomnia so is Sleeping Beauty high up there for you?

I'm just asking because Snow White is actually my favourite Disney Princess and her movie is my favourite yet Pomefiore is my least favourite dorm (but Lion King and Savanaclaw are both in my top two) and I was wondering if it's similar for you?

that said, it's hard to say what my favorite movie is, because I'm one of those annoying people who's like "well it depends" (on different aspects, on my mood, on the phase of the moon, etc). though out of the ones represented in Twst, I think it probably is Sleeping Beauty! I think it's really pretty and just a delightful movie! it hits a nice sweet spot for me of being kind of...gently grounded while still having that floaty-fairytale feeling, if that makes sense also I might have had a huge villaincrush on Maleficent that is being massively projected onto Meleanor, shh

although I actually sort of hated Diasomnia at first (l-look, they didn't have cards at first and all we had to go on were the website descriptions that make everyone sound horrible). so I dunno, maybe the influence helped win me over to them! or maybe just because, like everything else in Twst, they were unexpectedly enjoyable in practice?

(I don't think there are any that had a negative influence either, because I am also one of those annoying people who's like "well I don't have a least favorite, I like everybody!") (sob. it's true though.) (I just, I just love characters so much --)

#a doodley #okkk 2022: the torture chamber....i only sparsely drew al and developed talon (he was borned...) bc my mind was occupied with other things.#2023: exiting torture chamber; it took me a tiny little bit to get back to drawing and ''interacting with'' al again but i did it even #though it was a reminder of the Bad bc he's my copium #summer 2023: i view and witness media and suddenly have like 5 fictional men i cant decide on which to focus... and september (talon month)#comes along so I decide to focus on Talon after not touching him much at all throughout the entire year #(forced this btw i did not wanna do it LOL i didnt even remember how to draw him)#september 2023 to now: talon has infiltrated the brain. but i want to swivel back to al #now: i've forgotten how to Talk to al (just like i did in beginning of 2023)#(and just like i forgot how to talk to talon for most of 2023)#so ive kind of just been replaying the smunker cow al daydreams from when they first met #so I can find my way back...retracing my steps #in doing so ive kind of also forgotten how to interact with talon but still havent gotten back to al #so rn my life is so boring without imaginary bf interactions. just the before sleep plot rehashing daydreams...#or sparse visions of em Sometimes #nobody in my brain rn just like the short period last yr and its distressing #what do i draw without a love obsession.....#how do i pass time without it....! so boring. idk what to do #i miss the me of several yrs ago when i was drawing 50 different aus with al....ive downgraded in skill and imagination and creativity #so bad since then. idk. idk. i hope they come back to me soon #maybe i shld just draw al a lot which is how i kickstarted caring abt talon again almost a yr ago ?#hoping i can get him to come back before my surgery i need my big sexy boy nurse for recovery #(complaining abt things usually fixes em for me so im hoping thats the case here)
