One of the narratives I often rotate in my mind without actually ever putting down on paper is Jason and Tim getting stuck in the Star Wars universe. Tim meets a band of honorable Mandalorians who see a badass teenage warrior all alone and immediately are like "you can stick with us as long as you want, we'll even adopt you if you're down for that." He's not down for that, but he does stick with them because he needs to travel the galaxy to look for Jason or whatever. They bond, they train together, they appreciate the cultural significance that covering your face in public can have. Jason showed up on the other side of the galaxy and is going through a different story. They'll meet eventually and it will be a complicated reunion because I enjoy inserting Mandalorians into situations with fucked up family dynamics

I'm going to be so real I do not understand tim & steph shippers who feel that Steph dating Tim again would save her character. You can make an argument that giving Tim a more compelling love interest would be beneficial for him! And you can at least make an argument that the fujo mischaracterization of Steph would stop. However she'd still, inevitably, be treated as a prop character/extension for someone more popular 😭 it also wouldn't make her appear in more books! Tim doesn't have many frequent appearances at the moment either! You can just say you like the couple and want them back together without acting like you have some kind of moral stance

I’m a tad bit confused by your vitriolic hate of Tim, especially when he is a character you have self-admitted to never having read for. A lot of the hate seems directed at his fan base (or, I suppose, it would have to be because then you would be forming such a negative opinion on a character you have never read for), but you have also said you love Jason even though his fandom is annoying as well. It’s also hypocritical to hate this character, whom you have never read for, due to an annoying non-comic reading fandom, when you are also posting about Stephanie and Duke, despite admitting to only reading some of Steph’s content and none of Duke’s. Which influences your takes on them as they are often lacking the nuance of these events or characters or simply wrong. You are doing the same thing fanon Tim fans do with Tim to Stephanie and Duke, just in the opposite direction, and with a superiority complex.

A large portion of my Tim content (and Dick) is to give the batboys the type of posts every other character gets to have made for them by Tim fans where everyone must suffer to make God's Specialist White Boy look good. I have his tag blocked at it makes most DC spaces unusable. But when someone starts treating him like such a large amount of Tim Stans treat Steph, or Cass, or the Question, or Shiva, or Ra's, suddenly you're the devil and a million anons come into your inbox.

Additionally, I have read him. He's... Just some twink. Like no I haven't gone deep into actual neonazi Chuck Dixon's run on him, but you kinda can't avoid the guy in DC? I've read YJ98'S first half ish, I've read modern batman runs, I've read plenty of books with him. The parts of his run with Steph that I have read I never really saw that much between them. The difference between him and Jason is, though I've read about similar tbh for both characters in terms of quantity, Jason has a character that's engaging to me, so I'm willing to ignore bad fans and just never post much about him.

Also I'm pretty sure all this talk of my vitriolic hatred of him came from my ask, from the "choose violence" ask game, about how TimSteph isn't so amazing that they need to be together still, and that DC doesn't hate Tim. I don't think that's hatred.

I also don't think I post about Duke that much? I posted a post about a panel I thought was funny, I reposted a bunch of art and content I thought was cool?

Jason is freezing.

Sweat coats his skin, making his clothes stick to him. His mouth is dry. Parched. Like he hasn’t had anything to drink in weeks.

And he aches, low in his belly. His thighs ache, too, and his hips. His breasts. And the whole area between his legs—tender and sensitive and—

Jason whines.

He—

Fuck.

He wants—

Jason doesn’t know what he wants, but whatever it is… he wants it badly.

He rolls over, pulling the blankets higher, burying his nose in them miserably. Why is the world so mean to him? He’s only fifteen, what did he ever do that was so awful? He sniffs. Stills. Is that…? He sniffs again. Once. Twice.

It is.

Underneath the misery-want-lonely-need he’s leaking, he catches another scent. Warm. Nutty. Alpha. He remembers kind eyes and gentle touches.

Just the memory of those touches makes the ache worsen. He wants.

Why isn’t Alpha here?

…was Jason bad?

He doesn’t remember being bad, but… Sometimes it seems like he just can’t help it. Dad was always aggravated about something; growling at Jason at best and beating his ass at worst. People watch him suspiciously wherever he goes. Sometimes they even spit at him on the street. He’s not even safe from it at the library, other patrons side-eyeing him.

And Mama… Sometimes it felt like Mama was the only person who loved him, but. Even she pushed Jason away.

He sniffles.

Maybe if he says sorry Alpha will forgive him.

His hopes aren’t high, but he has to try, at least. Alpha— Alpha did say Jason could come get him, if he needed him.

Jason definitely needs him.

He slips out of bed, keeping one of the blankets wrapped around his shoulders as he makes his way down the hall, to the alpha’s door.

He hesitates, teeth digging into his lip almost hard enough to break skin. What if Alpha gets mad at him? What if he hurts him? Or— What if. What if he throws Jason out? Jason can’t survive like this.

Jason bites back a whimper when another cramp lances through his stomach. His legs shake. He needs.

No more hesitating. Jason opens the door before he can talk himself out of it, and shuffles forward to stand in the doorway, peering inside.

Alpha’s den isn’t as bare as Jason’s. His window is blocked off by thick curtains—a little light peeks in, just enough for Jason to be able to see the broad details. There’s a dresser, a lot like the one in Jason’s room, with a small TV on it. There’s a bookshelf, though Jason can’t really make out what’s on it. Same with most of the stuff on Alpha’s walls.

Jason’s eyes finally fall on Alpha’s nest. It’s a floor nest, surrounded by a thin canopy. It’s not a big nest, but it’s not small, either, and it’s plenty thick. It’s lined with pillows and cushions, with lots of blankets. With Alpha in the center of it…

It looks really cozy. Jason… wants.

Alpha’s chest moves slowly, evenly. Sleeping. Jason nibbles on his lip. He doesn’t wanna wake him up.

Maybe… Alpha wouldn’t be mad if Jason curled up with him, would he? Entering a nest without permission is really rude though, no matter the person’s dynamic.

He swallows down a distressed whine.

It’ll be okay if he just lays outside of it, right? Close enough to get Alpha’s scent…?

Jason steps tentatively into the den. He doesn’t fully shut the door behind him, just mostly. On tiptoes, he makes his way to the edge of the nest, and then sinks down to his knees. He parts the canopy, scooting right up next to the edge and letting it fall against his back before running his hand over the edge, feeling the softness of it. The whole den smells like Alpha, but the scent is strongest here. It wraps around Jason like a blanket.

Alpha shifts, a soft chirrup in his throat. Jason stills. He watches Alpha’s nose wrinkle, his brow furrow, the corners of his eyes scrunching—and then those eyes open, landing right on Jason. The dim light almost makes them look like they’re glowing.

Jason freezes. His eyes feel too big for his face. He feels like he’s been caught, like he’s waiting for Alpha to—to start yelling at him, or something. But Alpha’s expression softens.

He lifts his blanket and chuffs, a clear invitation.

Jason scrambles to take it, a needy sound burbling in his throat. He presses in close, curling up against him, head tucked under Alpha’s chin. Alpha drops the blanket around Jason’s shoulders and holds him close.

The touch is—

It makes everything better. The itchy, crawling feeling fades away. Even the cramps seem to ease, and Jason relaxes into it, nose buried in the Alpha’s collarbone.

“Hi, puppy,” he murmurs. “Everything okay?”

Alpha doesn’t smell mad. Or irritated. But— Jason had to have earned his ire somehow. Why else would he have been left all alone?

“I’m sorry,” he says, voice tiny and whiny, the way Dad always hated. He stills immediately after.

Alpha holds him closer, pressing his face into Jason’s hair. “Shh,” he soothes. “You haven’t done anything wrong, puppy.” His voice is achingly tender. So is the way his wrist sweeps down Jason’s spine, coating him in keepyousafe and carecomfortlove.

Jason tips his head back so he can blink at him, a little teary. “I haven’t?” he asks, voice small.”Th-then… why…?”

“Why what?” Alpha asks, hand settling in the small of Jason’s back. It’s nice.

Jason sniffles, blinking rapidly. “I was alone,” he manages finally, and sees Alpha’s face crumple.

Alpha presses Jason close as he sits up, pulling Jason into his lap. Strong arms cradle him close like he’s something precious. Sweet. A low rumble builds in his chest. This close, it buzzes through Jason’s body too, like it’s coming out of his own chest. Jason melts, fisting a hand in Alpha’s shirt, turning his face into his shoulder.

“I’m sorry, puppy,” Alpha murmurs, nosing his temple. “I didn’t think you would be comfortable having me with you.”

Jason doesn’t know why. Of course he wants Alpha with him. Alpha smells so good, and he’s taken care of Jason so well, and he touches Jason like—like he’s worth something. “Den with me?” His voice is muffled by Alpha’s shirt; the warm cotton soft against his skin.

Alpha rumbles a little deeper, rubbing Jason’s side. It makes Jason shudder, something slick soaking the inside of his underwear. It’s— The sensation is odd. It makes his nose wrinkle.

Alpha’s breath hitches. Jason hears him scent the air, and then his grip tightens.

“You’re in heat,” Alpha says quietly, realization coloring his voice.

Oh.

Oh.

Jason shudders, burying his face further into Alpha’s shoulder. He whines. “Alpha. Please.”

this is difficult... the debate in my mind between characters i just never want to see again vs characters i think would have an interesting effect on the story. for the first one ok let me be clear i dont hate him BUT the direction dc is going w him is worrying me and id like to nip it in the bud. jon kent. the introduction of trinity annoys me bad and i hate the big three now all having bio legacies. killing jon would disrupt this i think. I haven't really headcanoned Steph as anything specifically but she is definitely wlw of some variety

Bruce is homoromantic (with a kind of demiromantic attraction to women) and hes demisexual

i don't have an actual tweet thing for batfam twitter au/dickwing au/whatever im calling this for today so here's some headcanons(?) for that au (are they headcanons if you're the one making the au? eh some of these are just headcanons for the characters in general so i guess it still applies)

-bruce has been batman for a couple of decades now, he started in his early 20s and now he's in his late 40s

-the public thinks of bruce as this well-meaning (albeit himbo leaning) dad whose trying his best. back when he first started being batman his public bruce persona was just very much happy-go-lucky himbo (how can bruce be batman? bruce doesn't even know how to tie his shoelaces) but he's now graduated to tired dad (how can bruce be batman? he has six kids to take care of and a company to run)

-and yeah six kids, duke is officially adopted into the wayne family in this

-no, alfred does not have a twitter. he's got too much to deal with already. however, he does know everyone's account information, so yknow, in case a masked vigilante gets beat up really bad then it's not like their civilian account suddenly stops posting

-and yeah alfred is alive. he cannot die. i refuse to believe it. i'm already saying fuck canon i'm not stopping now

-i've seen people in the tags asking/speculating about this, but i've been going on the assumption that each character has two phones: one for vigilante-ing and one for civilian-ing. if one gets stolen or hacked then its not like the thief will suddenly have access to their identity. plus it's not like bruce can't afford multiple phones.

-dick started dickwing because he was bored and thought it would be funny; it becoming a "well no one will think dick grayson is nightwing because they're dating" thing was 100% unintentional but also 100% the immediate excuse he gave when asked by the rest of the fam why he did that.

-dick is a theatre kid. which is obvious from the way i've been writing him but i felt it needed to be said again. i wanna say his fave musical would be newsies but i haven't seen newsies personally so,, i mean, of the musicals i really like and am familiar with, i'd say it'd be cats. now if you're familiar with cats you're like "okay yeah i can see it" but if you only know about it from that terrible movie let me justify myself: it's a dance-heavy musical with lots of amazing feats of athleticism in the dances. also, look up what rum tum tugger looks like in the actual show and then remember dick's discowing costume. i'm right about this.

-cass still doesn't know how to read. she uses a text to speech program to have things read out for her. she's also mostly nonverbal

-babs uses a wheelchair in this. i know some canon stuff does the whole "yeah but she got better" but once again i don't like canon

-no one in this family is neurotypical but the ones i feel most strongly about are bruce and cass are autistic and dick has adhd. pretty sure they all have some form of ptsd too but ngl that seems kind of obvious. and yes bruce being autistic is canon i love reminding people of this :3

-speaking of canon things i like reminding people of because it's often ignored in canon, dick is romani! and bruce is jewish!

-bruce, dick, steph, and tim are bi. or yknow, some kind of mspec, i don't think dick is a big fan of labels, steph probably says she's whatever sexuality makes her joke funnier, and tim is still figuring it out. babs is also bi and that is solely because my mom is bi and babs is her favorite character. cass is a lesbian and you could tell me jason, dami, and duke are whatever sexuality you want and i'd believe you. ngl i don't personally feel comfortable giving dami a sexuality hc myself bc i don't really like shipping/imagining child character in relationships but eh you do you as long as its not actually sexual

hi :) I probably should’ve made this when I first made this account, but I honestly didn’t think any of my posts would be seen by anyone! so thats crazy

I used to have a decade plus old tumblr blog that I unfortunately accidentally deleted while trying to get rid of a side blog on it so. that was fun. but it was mostly because I wanted to revamp and start posting rambles about dc comics (mainly jason todd) after years of having not touched the account so thats what led to this creation

I am not a minor

the thing about dc is that i haven't read anything. period. but i'm following a few people that have... and let me tell you osmosis is a thing and now i have opinions... even tho i have not read one dc strip of comic. i have oPinIoNs

and that's alright anon but that only works to a degree and also is, and I'm going to be very me here, a very exhausting attitude to be around as somebody who has consumed the media. The post in question that I made (which I assume prompted this ask) was more or less about me being,,, really tired after taking a look in the Robins (2021) tag on tumblr.

Personally? I loved that comic. The art was cute, you had all the Robin interact with each other and banter. There was sibling bonding, Damian calling Tim "his brother", Jason saving a criminal, Tim'S intellect showing through even while kidnapped, Steph being acknowledged and kick-ass and a fun villain. I enjoyed the comic!

But Christ if you look at tumblr, you'd think it was the worst comic ever produced and,,, mostly because people either hadn't finished it and thus condemned it for a fun twist they didn't see coming, and characterization. I get it, the premise sets a very specific tone, but isn't it kind of the nature of Western comics to go "okay, this is one version of this story, let's tell this again but slightly to the left?"

Characterizations are also by far not as stable as people like to pretend as characters are handed through many authors and editors and storylines. And that's alright? Like, you can hate this comic and that's totally valid, I'm not actually here to discuss if this comic fits into this-and-that continuity with that characterization, but whether this particular story was fun as a stand-alone.

And overall, I thought it was.

But tumblr opinions are imo incredibly biased and, to cite my friend @ghostwriterofthemachine, can be summed up as:

“All DC canon is bad because [bitches specifically New 52, which ended in 2016] [bitches about Tom King’s Batman run which was near-universally disliked and also ended in 2019] [bitches about something that’s blatantly fanon] [opinion about the Snyder movies by someone who has obviously watched more Hot Take Video Essays than actual movies] [BUT it’s ALl sO GrIMDaRK which hasn’t been true in at least a decade]” [POST]

So yeah, I have some opinions on various media I've consumed second-hand but never to the point where I think that's something good? And DC has always kind of suffered from people having a lot of opinions on things they haven't even read - I know I did that back in uuh shit 2019 when I was super into it as well, but I know better now. Always read the source material if you actually want to know what's going on and finish that before you go on tumblr bc the tumblr side of comics is honestly exhausting.

So yeah, my TLDR is that having opinions is great but you gotta have the background knowledge to back them up or they're kinda just floating around uselessly. Unless it's your goal to consume media entirely out of context for max hilarity, in which case, good luck.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

hmm

i was 12. my favorite tv show at the time was this old disney cartoon, "super robot monkey team hyper force go" (abbreviated as SRMTHFG or SRMTHG. i prefer the first but plenty of people use the second.) it was canceled after its 4th season and, uh. the ending was SO bad. like, major major cliffhanger.

anyway, i was looking up... i don't even remember at the time. and i discovered deviantart, and i discovered this person's OCs. read a lot about them, including some fanfic, and then eventually discovered fanfiction.net

i didn't realize what it was at first; i thought it was just a writing in general site? and i was like oh! i can share the book i'm working on! (i have been trying to write a novel since i was 10). and then as i was looking into where i would post it, i realized what it actually was. (no, the title didn't give it away. idk why.)

so then i was like oh!!! this is really cool actually!!! and i wrote my first fanfic xD

that was in 2011? so i was 12, almost 13.

and i've been reading & writing fic ever since~

second person, present tense is my absolute fave, but past tense is good too. (i have written an entire sapphic little mermaid retelling [12k words i think] in second person. uh, it needs revisions but it's a full draft. i opened it it the other day and im still so proud of it uwu)

howEVER. outside of writing second person w/o ever explicitly naming the pov character i have not actually written a reader-insert? so for that reason alone i will have to say 'prefer writing oc's'

i'm a chronic oversharer (mostly in the tags) so that's kind of tough!

ah! since my grandmother's memory issues started, i've been doing about half of the cooking (it's been a bit of a battle, as she keeps trying to do everything xD) and i've cooked a lot of new things this year!! i've gotten very good at cooking pork chops. which 🤔 now that i bring that up, i might make friday! or tonight, but they're still in the freezer, so...

my grandmother's memory situation has improved a lot!! it's still not great, but like. strides ahead of where we were 7-8 months ago!

my anxiety has been much kinder to me this year <3 i've made some very lovely friends this year~

mmm, oH, my energy levels have been fantastic this year. i didn't realize just how bad they had gotten until i started these new meds, and now i'm just. <333 much better.

He swallows, staring up at Tim. Jason has had plenty of practice reading people through a domino, but. He has no reference for the look Tim is giving him now. Only that it— That the feeling it gives him is… is new and strange. He has no name for it, the way his stomach feels fluttery and tight, his scalp and fingers tingling. His mouth opens—but all that escapes is a stuttery puff of air. That’s okay. He doesn’t know what he was going to say anyway. Tim hooks a gloved finger under his chin; tipping his face up. He leans in, slowly—so slow that Jason— There’s nothing keeping him there. He could run. Turn away. But he feels caught, feet anchored in place. Tim’s mouth touches his, and all thought leaves him. Jason has never been kissed before.

Favourite story you’ve written so far: Pour cette chaude lumière nommée espoir (a very old one, also my first fanfic ever so it’s very dear in my heart... I still really like it); for you there’s nothing in this world i wouldn’t do (i loved the idea and absolutely loved writing it); A Million Worlds Apart (a Klance fanfic i’m very proud of, it was also a request and it was really fun to write); L’(in)justice de ce monde (a Miraculous one, kind of a character study of Chloé and i absolutely loved writing her); Vie et Spectres d’un Demi-Dieu (a PjO fic! i loved writing this one bc it’s kind of poetic... still make me want to cry everytime i read it again); Il y avait (a little fic about how i see the next gen in Harry Potter... I still love it). There’s a lot in there but I limited myself at one fic per fandom :’D Also the vast majority of them are in French, just in case. 

Fic you were nervous to post: for you there’s nothing in this world i wouldn’t do, because it’s very different from what i’m used to write dofihjg. Plus every first fic for a new fandom, it always makes me nervous. 

How do you choose your titles?: In the spur of the moment? Sometimes it’s the lyric of a song i was listening too or thinking about or i thought could fit the fic... Sometimes it’s just something that sound good in my head :’D

Do you outline?: It depends... For fics, yes, for oneshot, very rarely.

Coming soon/not yet started: So i finished a bunch of fics from Comfortember who are still with my beta, and I have a fic i’m really excited to post about Dick and the Titans saving Jason from the Joker! Also I’m actually writing a Fairy Tale AU with Steph as the protagonist, and I have another idea for a Fairy Tale AU with Dick & Jason I’m excited about as well!! And also a bunch of Titans Tower AU because of @iwhumpyou. (Wait it’s the WIP thing right? Then too many. Way too many. I don’t want to count.)

Prompts?: I don’t mind! As you can see, it can took me a while to answer it, but I also love having prompts!

Upcoming work you’re most excited about: Since i confused questions, all of the above plus a oneshot (... probably) about a different first meeting for Dick and Steph... I still need to finish it but i love my idea. Also, a Tim sees Ghosts AU i’m very excited about!
