JOURNALISTS CONTINUE TO BE TARGETED FOR EXECUTION BY "ISRAEL"

📹 An Al-Jazeera Arabic report on the targeting of journalists inside the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation army, which continues to flout international humanitarian law. While the United States endlessly defends the occupation from any potential consequences in international bodies like the United Nations Security Council.

According to the Gaza Media Office, 138 journalists have been killed since the start of "Israel's" war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, while Western organizations such as the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) puts the number slightly lower, at 95 confirmed killed from Israeli attacks.

CPJ compiles the numbers in seperate categories, listing that as of April 3rd, 95 Journalists and media workers were confirmed dead, breaking down to 90 Palestinians, 2 Israelis, and 3 Lebanese journalists, all killed in Gaza.

Further, an additional 16 journalists were reported injured, 4 others remain missing in Gaza, while 25 journalists have been reported arrested or detained.

Additionally, CPJ says journalists in Gaza also face multiple assaults, threats, cyberattacks, censorship, and even, horrifically, as in the case of Palestinian Journalist for the Al-Jazeera Network, Wael Al-Dahdough, even the murder of family members.

“CPJ emphasizes that journalists are civilians doing important work during times of crisis and must not be targeted by warring parties,” Sherif Mansour, CPJ’s Middle East and North Africa program coordinator is quoted as saying.

“Journalists across the region are making great sacrifices to cover this heart-breaking conflict. Those in Gaza, in particular, have paid, and continue to pay, an unprecedented toll and face exponential threats. Many have lost colleagues, families, and media facilities, and have fled seeking safety when there is no safe haven or exit.”

an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.

He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).

For a friend who wanted links to some posts I made about antisemitism, allyship, and how to support Palestine without being antisemitic—which is both possible and easy to do!

How to be a good ally for Jewish people. I responded to a wonderful ask from @faggotry-enjoyer about how to be a better ally and to discuss Israel/Palestine with people who are inclined to distrust Jews due to unexamined antisemitism.

Important post about the dangers faced by Jews as an extreme minority. There are good examples in the reblogs and replies and tags—both of great ways for non-Jews to provide support as well as if antisemites denying their own antisemitism. Therese even one example of ways Jews can and do disagree with each other while remaining respectful without delving into antisemitism OR Islamophobia OR denying the rights and dignity of Palestinians. Jews can do this and so can non-Jews. But that can’t happen if people hate us too much to listen to anything we have to say.

If Jews can learn about the Holocaust in detail before we even reach the age of ten, you can and should too.

Don’t trust people who rely on bad sources. People do make genuine mistakes. Here’s an example of bad faith link sharing. Especially when Reblogging things. Even I don’t have time to always check every source in a post. Also, it’s possible that a link seemed legitimate when it was originally posted but the source is either no longer trustworthy or the OP got better at assessing sources. If an error in their original sourcing is pointed out, they should correct it publicly. If they are sharing a link as an OP they should always take time to be as responsible as possible.
