Batman had just missed them. Again. "Hey B," Bruce grunted, acknowledging Nightwing, "Are we sure these kids need help or do you think they need "help".

Bruce turned to glare at his oldest. He already had ten kids-ten-he was not handing out Kevlar to any more children unless it became absolutely necessary for them not to die. That being said the Nightengale family-two girls and one boy with no parents in sight- were behaving recklessly.

At first it seemed like a fluke. They had somehow managed to twist the Riddlers wording around to confuse him before casually and calmly hearding him away from the other hostages and had him talking so excitedly that he didn't even notice the police were there to arrest him until they were right behind him.

He looked so shocked.

This kept happening in different ways with various rogues. Killer Croc ended up drinking tea with the elder sister, Mr Freeze was caught up discussing Nora's illness and possible cures with the brother and Firefly had been adamantly teaching the youngest sister the wonders of arson and how different materials can burn in a variety of ways.

The Nightengale kids were just so used to corralling dangerous crazy people from dealing with thier parents thats its second nature to them.

Aka they become known as the Rogue Ranglers and Danny once again wants to strangle the press for thier bad naming abilities

“Fuck me,” Evan groaned. He slammed his quill down on the desk in front of him.

Barty looked over to him. “Dude, what’s the problem?”

“I don’t know how long this potion lasts.” Evan tells him, sighing.

Barty gets up from his place on Evan’s bed and walks over to Evan. He grabs the quill from where it sits on the paper and leans over Evan. He feels Evan stiffen underneath him.

Barty hums. “I suppose it would last infinite,” He whispers next to Evan’s ear.

Evan’s face goes bright red as he coughs. “Jesus, back up Bee,” He says.

Barty doesn’t move. “Why? Think i’m gross or something?” He teases. Barty runs his hands along Evan’s chest teasingly. “Don’t you just hate when I do this?”

Evan pushes his chair back. “Barty I said knock that shit off,” He hissed at him.

Barty puts his hands up in defense. “Just messing around man. What’s got your knickers twisted?”

“Nothing,” Evan huffs.

“No, genuinely, what the fuck is so bad about touching me, Evan?” Barty asks, raising his eyebrow.

“Leave it, Barty.” Evan grumbles.

“Am I that disgusting to you? God, Rosie. We’ve been friends forever. I’ve touched you before. Lately you’ve been like this- what the fuck did I do to make you stop wanting to touch me? Jesus, Ev, just tell me and i’ll change it, I-“ Barty says, throwing his hands out, his voice breaking.

Evan seems to have an internal battle with himself before grabbing the front of Barty’s shirt and pressing their lips together. Barty hesitates for a bit, and Evan thinks he made a grave mistake before he feels hands in his hair and lips moving against his.

“Oh,” Barty says dumbly as Evan releases him. “That’s why.”

“Yeah that’s why,” Evan tells him.

“So does that mean you like me or…?” Barty asks.

Evan covers his face with his hands. “For how smart you are, you’re so stupid,” Evan tells him. Barty gives him a crooked grin.

Remember when I was so excited that the state was finally paying me? Yeah, that was a premature celebration. My employer has decided to take over paying my weekly short term disability payment, so I'm getting less than half what the state got to pay me for two (2) weeks. It means I got comfortable and stepped back from Dashing (which is getting harder to do as my condition gets worse) and now we're almost $1k short for June rent.

We have until the 30th to pay for rent this month (plus a $200 late fee) or we will be evicted.

I hate that I have to keep asking for help, especially with everything else going on in the world, but keeping our home is so important. I'm hoping I will feel better tomorrow and next week and be able to make some money, but because that's not a guarantee, I'm gonna keep being anxious over here and crossing my fingers that my employer will extend my medical leave without having to jump through a million more hoops.
