the feeling of excitement you get when you just posted a fic, and keep refreshing over and over again to see how many hits you get

opportunities to explore literally any ships and ship dynamics you want

you won't have to search for that very specific fic you want, you can just write it yourself

there will undoubtedly be people who were also searching in vain for said specific fic, and you will make their day when they see that at least 1 person gets it

the general feeling of accomplishment, knowing that the idea that has been itching at you for god-knows-how-long is now finally tangible in written form
