Hi brain-rotted Tumblr folks! I've come back from the dead to spread awareness and rant about the racism at the 2024 Met Gala towards the K-Pop stars Stray Kids. I have included the original video, however it is not the full video and didnt capture every comment the paparazzi made. I'm thankful their leader Bang Chan handled the situation well and it could have gone a lot worse.

I'll first explain the situation and what exactly happened. Stray Kids were making history as the first K-Pop group to be invited to the Met Gala. This was a big deal and a time for celebration for both the guys and the K-Pop community. They got the recognition that they deserve, represent the K-Pop industry, and get Americans aware of Korean musicians and artists. Stray Kids got a sponsorship or PR deal with Tommy Hilfiger and received custom-made suits to wear on the red carpet. This was a very proud and exciting moment. However, once Stray Kids hit the carpet, they were bombarded and exposed to racist remarks made from paparazzi, shouting things like "they're robots" or that they're "unemotional" and demanding them to do something crazy and jump. One person even made a racist joke saying "oh no, im going to get covid." They even said "arigato" to them sarcastically as they left. This is blatent racism, extremely disrespectful and disgusting behavior, and the guys had to listen to all that. They are not circus animals for you to throw your peanuts at, they are grown ass men!

I don't know if this was an instance where they knew they were Korean so they thought they couldn't understand them, which is classic American thinking. Two members are from Australia and speak English fluently. I know the other members know some English or speak broken English, but even if they didn't speak English and they don't know what you're saying, they know when someone is yelling and being rude to them. They can read facial expressions and hear your tone of voice. These paparazzi crew have zero excuse for their behavior. They most likely don't give a shit and just wanted to trash on foreigners attending this American event.

Imagine visiting a country that has an entirely different culture than yours and a language that you can't speak and how scary that is. You would feel like an outsider, like you don't belong, feelings of anxiety and isolation. No imagine you're feeling all these feelings and standing on a red carpet getting your picture taken by a bunch of people (for which these photos will be seen by millions of people) and they're yelling racist remarks and belittling you, making you feel awful and guilty for being from a different country than them. I can't imagine what that must have felt like. I know Stray Kids have come to America multiple times, but that feeling of "you're in a foreign country" will never go away. This should have been an exciting, amazing experience for them!

Now, Stays and K-Pop lovers have found the paparazzi people that made those remarks and have flocked to their Instagram DMs and demanded an apology to Stray Kids. I know how most K-Pop stans have destroyed people's careers and lives, even for the most tiniest of things, but this time I think it's well deserved and justifiable.

No one deserves to be treated with disrespect and no one deserves to feel like an outsider and that they are not welcome. We must acknowledge that every person, regardless of their race or ethnicity, deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. No one should ever be judged, discriminated against, or oppressed because of the color of their skin or their cultural background. I'm making this post because racism really pisses me off and to show how racism is still ever present in 2024. America is a disgrace and should be burned to the ground.

My final WTNV post for the day likely: if Lubelle and her scientists now have the recordings of what happened in the radio show when Dana killed her double it means they have the full sandstorm event documented. And do you know who was introduced in the sandstorm as a creepy double covered in blood? Kevin!

Wich means that not only when they listen to the episode Kevin is going to be a person of interest but it also confirm to Lubelle that Cecil has a double and since she is right now obecessed with studying doupplegangers... why *nervous giggle* good look for both of my radio boys now.

You know how sometimes it’s highlighted how you have to be very careful on what you say in the presence of a spirit because they can twist your words and end up bidding yourself to it?? well uno-reverse-card the spirit also has to be careful on what he says because when Danny had said he owed the dude one for coming to his rescue in a gala Vlad had dragged him to, he didn’t expect that to be taken literally.

Hobie getting Miles a bonnet because Miles is just out here sleeping with no protection for his hair.

The first time Hobie sleeps over at Miles', Hobie's putting his hair up in his bonnet and when he looks over at Miles, Miles is just... straight up laying there. No bonnet, no turban, no nothing. And he just stares at Miles.

"...What are you doing ?"

"Where's your bonnet ?"

"My what ?"

"So you just go to sleep with your hair all naked and shit ?"

"Hobie, what are you talking about ?"

"Nothing. Night."

But Hobie doesn't sleep because the fact that Miles is just sleeping soundly with no hair protection and the next morning, he's just staring as Miles struggles to detangle his hair.

So the next week, Hobie drops a present off at Miles' with a note attached to it

"Took me forever to find one that you'd like, but I feel that this one is perfect for you. Wear that shit. I'm serious, Miles. I cant sleep at night knowing that you sleep like that. Hair protection is no joke. - HB"

And Miles takes Hobie's present out of the box, and there's a satin bonnet with sunflowers on it. Miles puts it on and it feels... really comfortable and is amazed when he starts waking up and his hair is less frizzy and that there's way less breakage and that he wakes up with less knots and tangles and doesn't have to spend all morning detangling his hair.

And the next time Hobie comes over, he's so proud to see Miles wearing his bonnet, even in his downtime.

obviously i love akutagawa with all my heart but i hate when people act like atsushi was horrible for saying 'this is why dazai didnt choose you' to him like yeah it was mean but also akutagawa did kidnap and try to kill him several times. I'm pretty sure atsushi's anger is justified i dont think he's in the wrong for being a little mean there

This part really struck me, and I wanted to draw it! Luffy is just trying to protect his little family, and while the Lapins nearly got them killed, he still helps pull one out of the snow....because he recognizes they're trying to protect their family too. And I love that ;v;

I really do think a lot on Edwin’s very serious declaration of never letting the two of them get separated after Charles shows concern about it in episode 1, and it’s abundantly clear that he’s just as protective of Charles as Charles is of him. However, due to the kinds of situations they ended up in during season 1, Edwin fell a lot more into the role of the one who needed protecting, which is why I really badly want to see Edwin have a moment in season 2 where he protects Charles or saves them from being separated again, through clever words maybe, or his spell books.

I just desperately want some kind of follow through on the ferventness of his “I will never let that happen” because with the conviction of that line, god I believe it, but do I ever really want to see it too

In season two, I really need a scene where somehow Charles gets knocked out so the gang brings him back to the office and lays him down on the couch

He’s just waking up, not fully there yet, but his hand already subconsciously reaches out for Edwin

Edwin doesn't know what Charles wants until he hears him mumble Edwin's name in a panicked manner

Edwin rushes to his side, grabbing Charles’s outstretched hand and whispering softly "I'm here, Charles. I've got you."

Charles, now comforted, cradles their joined hands to his chest and peacefully falls back asleep
