I've been seeing a number of posts opposing the whole "likes are worthless" idea on here and I feel like a lot of yall are purposefully misunderstanding what creators actually mean when we say that. no one is saying that getting a like means nothing. it's a nice little indicator that a single person enjoyed your post, but it's not helpful in any way to circulating art/creations. likes are worthless to the process of getting your work seen.

we're talking about likes this way because we're trying to push back against the huge disparity in the likes to reblogs ratios. we're trying to get people to understand that your likes, while not damaging in any way, do absolutely nothing to help creators boost their work. they're nice, but that's it. you should be reblogging the work that you enjoy.

Is there anyone else who was bothered by the fact that Isaac was constantly reading ?

I personally loved it because it showed that reading in social settings doesn’t necessarily mean you’re unsociable or will end up lonely and unhappy and friendless. I personally needed that message as someone who got told off too many times for reading at a time when life was confusing and scary. Books were and are a comfort space for me and I spent a very long time being very lonely because people around me refused to associate with me because of my books. I was a “nerd”, “bookworm” and many more names that were screamed at my face as an insult that I claimed as compliments. Books were given as the reason why I wasn’t included in things. So seeing someone who has a lot of inner conflict find peace in books on screen was very important to me. Isaac still having friends, enjoying life and still reading truly showed that you shouldn’t have to change who you are and what you love to be accepted, to deserve a support system like the Paris gang, to be included. The queer storylines that showed this were obviously powerful and important, but for me, this hit home harder than any other way the show gave this message.

the ts song in heartstopper objectively didn’t make sense. it didn’t fit with any of the songs they used or even the scene they were using it for. the lyrics didn’t make sense for it at all, and to start playing it during a sapphic scene felt insidious considering taylor’s constant wlw queerbaiting. I was genuinely thrown off bc it just didn’t make sense to me.
