I’ve finally caught up with Veilguard news and I’m already planning a Rook, well sorta. Had to change some things about him because apparently BioWare seemed to remove/rebrand Reaver as Reaper. What happened to my dragon magic? 😭

so uhh rant about where I went for my bday:

An arcade, and it was freaking awsome.

THEY HAD MRS PACMAN AND PACMAN! DONKEY KONG, A FUCKING JURASSIC PARK 3 SHOOTER GAME, SPACE INVADERS, ASTROID DESTROYER, TETRIS, AND THE OWNER COMPLEMENTED INDIESTER(puppet) CAUSE I BROUGHT HER THERE!

And mah [FAMILY MEMBER] was so confused at "needing quarders" because we usually went to a place where we used a card XD

The best part?

THEY HAD A HEATHERS MUSICAL SONG, LEMON DEMON(Cabinet man. Hell yeah), AND AN AROURA SONG IN THEIR PLAYLIST!

10/10 going there next next December 24th because they aren't open on Thursdays.

"Games aren't fun any more"

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I think it's good to have discussions rather than getting angry at others for not lining up with you. But I just can't agree with this notion.

Usually whenever people make such statements they typically have a overly simple view of the industry. Seeing the triple AAA scenes as nothing more than just shooters, narrative games, live service titles and Nintendo. And I'm sure many people have seen that image claiming that all indies are just Earthbound inspired RPGs, rogue-likes or Pizza Tower.

Things are not that simple though. You're going to have to dig deeper than just what's regularly advertised to you or what shows up on your feed. Since the new decade started we've been getting more variety than what the 2010s were offering.

Hi-fi Rush, Pseudoregalia, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Crash 4, Corn Kidz 64, Laika: Aged through Blood, Endoparasitic, Freedom Planet 2, Neon White, Shredder's Revenge, Madness Project Nexus, Mighty Fight Federation, Crumble, Pumpkin Jack, Noita, Man Eater, Ultrakill, Fight Crab, Carrion and It Steals are just a few fun games I got on Steam that all came out in the 2020s.

And who said you had to play new games anyway? Steam has many older games available for cheap like Doom 1993 or Half-Life. There are even some games I didn't think would even be on their like this shovelware Wii game called Martian Panic and an Atari Jaguar game called Attack of the Mutant Penguins. There are multiple game collections to try to like Namco Museum, Contra Anniversary Collection, SEGA Genesis and Atari Vault just waiting to be tried.

There are many resell stores too. And yes, I know that many like to rank up the prices but my best advice is to go in an browse rather than trying to look for a specific title. I find that a PS2 or classic Xbox and their games are way cheaper than what they often charge for GameCubes and their library. Plus there's a lot more variety too. I was able to get Assassin's Creed 1-3 and Brotherhood on the PS3 for just 20 bucks.

I want to make a post about browsing in retro game stores instead of going in to look for specific games but one thing I love about it is the sense of discovery. I'll find weird games I didn't even know existed for only 5 or 10 dollars. What's Scaler? What's Zapper? What's Pirate's Legend of the Black Buccaneer? I have no idea but they were like 5 bucks each. Even if I don't enjoy them at least I didn't spend that much on them.

Games are still fun. You just need to stop focusing on what's shoved into your feed or think that you have to exclusively enjoy new games.

Now excuse me I've got 18 chapters left in Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie's Revenge to beat.

I've had gaming anxiety since I was a teen. I always feel like I've got to complete some chore, or earn being able to game. But even then, I feel bad while I'm gaming, in the back of my head I still feel like I should be doing something productive, like cleaning, or my homework....but I don't HAVE any homework, I'm an adult, I can game for however long I want! There aren't 4 other siblings trying to get computer time, Mom ain't gonna disrupt my raid cuz dinner's ready, "but MOM I CAN'T JUST LEAVE U CANT PAUSE REAL LIFE! WE'RE ABOUT TO FIGHT M'URU!!!! I'LL GET KICKED OUT OF THE GUILD!!"

Anyhow. Anyone else have that?

Bass is both such a niche but substantial character to the Mega Man franchise and it actually drives me insane.

Like upon his release Capcom was really trying to hype Classic Bass up story wise to make him a good Mega Man foil.

….but on the flip side to current time I still recall when Capcom did a trivia pre-game for Mega Man’s 30th anniversary livestream and all the contestants there could answer who each character was except Bass.

And this made highschooler me sad that day :,)

I feel like adult female anime character designs were done better during the 80s and 90s era. Maybe 2000s as well, but mostly around the 80s and early to late 90s era of anime where there's was just something about the way adult female anime characters were drawn back then that had a much more mature look to them.

Its just something I tend to notice more and more when it comes to the differences of the way female adult characters are done within some newer modern anime, were even if said female character is in her late-20s or mid-30s or even in her freaking 40s! You'll have certain anime were said character is still drawn to look like a high-school girl or depending on the " type" of artist behind the anime you'll get said female character who is suppose to be an adult but still looks like a young adolescent girl..... and I'm like "eeh uh just Ugh Why ".

I'm not saying it's every single new anime out there since not every anime has the exact same look to it. BUT! It's one of those things within anime I tend to notice a lot when it comes to female characters' design. Especially when watching both older and newer anime.

Like the way female adult characters were drawn in anime during the 90s and 80s also even the 70s where just completely different compare to some anime today, the women actually looked like fully grown-ass women instead of still looking like young high-schoolers or preteen girls when these characters are supposed to be fully grown.

The way anime women were drawn back then just had a much more mature design, style , and aesthetic, and an overall mature appeal to them compared to some newer anime women today.

You ever start watching a show or something and catch yourself thinking in or speaking in one of the main characters speech quirks?

Cause I do and idk why that is, that I don’t.

Buy DVD set (used like new)

Over a hundred dollars for retro anime I’ve always wanted to watch and I can finally afford

Comes wrapped in packaging having to unwrap each box set

All the disks are out of order and need to be organized

Not even in proper box set

No labels or suspected order of disks

I mean the disks have names but not episode numbers that I can see

Play each one in dvd player not being able to skip through the dvd maker intros or hit the menu button cause some straight up don’t let me

Use dvd menu to gather disks in the same box as the menu song and art are the same for each box set I came to realize

Repeat putting the disks in the dvd player and checking episodes to make sure disks are in proper order in box

Boxes are broken and don’t hold the disks properly cause old

Disks finally in order and I can finally watch series from the beginning

Took me a couple hours to organize them cause idk if there was a list online I could’ve used and couldn’t find one when I actually looked

Want to watch series cause I finally can

Don’t watch series for months after buying so I don’t have to deal with the boxes again

But it was worth it, that it was~~!!

I’m very tired, that I am. And cannot sleep because I have a drs appointment in the afternoon; and if I take a nap it isn’t a nap and I’ll be asleep for the allotted sleep time, that I will.
