Mad Hatter (with genuine enthusiasm): I like your riddles.
Riddler (taken aback, raising an eyebrow): What?
Mad Hatter (smiling broadly): Your riddles. I like them. Sometimes, they're so nonsensical that once you figure them out, they still fester in the mind. It’s amazing how they leave the victim stumped, wondering how they couldn’t figure it out. I truly admire your riddles.
Riddler (grinning, clearly pleased): And I like you. Mad Hatter, right?
Mad Hatter (nodding, adjusting his hat): That’s the name you know me by. And you’re Edward Nygma. Quite a fascinating name, I must say.
Riddler (sighing, playfully rolling his eyes): Oh boy, here we go.
Mad Hatter (leaning in conspiratorially): Another thing I like about you.
Riddler (smirking): We’re teaming up when I break out of here.
As they spoke, Scarecrow walked past the two, clutching a plastic cup filled with tea.
Scarecrow (scoffing, voice dripping with disdain): Bleeding idiots.
Mad Hatter (whispering to Riddler, eyes wide with amusement): He doesn’t like me. I think he’s rather mad, but not in a fun way.
Riddler (agreeing): Oh my God, same.

See how when I make a character playlist I take into account their canon tastes, the songs lyrics and their personality and not just filling it with whatever angsty song is trending? Very respectful, very mindful!

You should read the original script for Rogue, so much cool stuff was left out, like Rogue proposing to the Doctor with slam-poetry Kylie Minogue:

Poison Ivy strolled through the dim corridors of Arkham Prison, feeling the weight of her countless imprisonments. As she wandered, she spotted Batman alongside Nightwing and one of the Robins. Curiosity piqued, she approached them.
Ivy: Nightwing, hi!
Nightwing: Ivy! Hey there.
Ivy: You don’t have to be formal. Remember, you can call me Pam.
Nightwing: Oh, right! Hi, Pam. How are you doing today?
Ivy: Not bad, just taking a stroll. I have to say, being away from my babies isn’t exactly a great time.
Batman (mumbling): Your plants.
Nightwing: Ignore him. I’m really sorry about that, but Harley is taking good care of them. You might be out on good behavior soon so then you can see them.
Batman scoffed looking off to the side.
Ivy: Oh yeah, I have a good lawyer this time. No need for a breakout.
Nightwing: That’s good to hear.
Batman: Hey we need to get going.
Robin (complimenting): How do you manage to make an orange jumpsuit work with green?
Ivy: My body is fantastically made. Anyway, you guys should head off. I might punch Batman, and I don’t want to get electroshocked again.
Nightwing: It’s worth it though.
Nightwing shot a glance at Batman, who groaned in annoyance and walked away. Robin lingered next to Nightwing.
Ivy: See, that’s why I’ve always liked you, kid. I want to apologize for the times I’ve used my pollen on you. I still will, but no more love pollen.
Nightwing: That means a lot to me. I never held it against you. You’re an anti-hero, Batman’s nemesis, and I’m a hero. It’s just how it is.
Batman, having overheard the conversation, returned.
Batman: I’m not sorry for interrupting. She’s not an anti-hero; she’s an eco-terrorist and has killed many people!
Ivy (crossing her arms): Do people who are destroying the planet count as worthy lives, though?
Robin: Okay, you have a point. But murder isn’t going to fix that. You could get the job done without senseless killings.
Ivy: I don’t care for you.
Robin: That’s fine. I stand by my opinion. You do have cool powers, though.
Nightwing: He’s a good kid, don’t be hard on him, Pam.
Ivy: For you... maybe. Batman, you can just fuck off.
Batman: I can’t stand you!
With that, Batman yanked Robin away, while Nightwing casually waved goodbye as they left.

Rogue/Magneto was something Marvel really seemed prepared to go all in on back in the day. It looked like something Claremont was toying with before he left, and might've got more focus if he'd stayed, but once he was gone and Jim Lee took full control the focus quickly shifted to Rogue/Gambit.
Age of Apocalypse then gave it new life, giving us a Magneto and Rogue who were happily married and with a son. The massive success of that arc no doubt encouraged the writers to keep the Rogue/Magneto dance going, which is how we ended up with Joseph, a character originally introduced as an amnesiac, younger looking Magneto. Very quickly he was pulled into a love triangle with Rogue and Gambit, only for the writers to then reveal he was a clone of Magneto and then died.
I'm fairly sure that was never the original plan, I believe Joseph was meant to be the real Magneto, but the editor insisted Magneto be a villain rather than a redeemed hero and that was the best idea the writers came up with. By that point, though, Rogue/Gambit had become more popular thanks to X-Men: The Animated Series, and Rogue/Magneto soon faded away accept in an Age of Apocalypse revisits.

read a book about robots and robot/human intimacy. desperately want to write robot OCs NOW.
as an aside, also thinking about one passage in the book that was like "[the robot] had access to his memories, but not the source of them. he felt things without knowing why he felt them" and just really hammering in the horror of pre-programmed impulses and loyalty etc and i'm like.
looks at the corinth.ian :)

Sorry I haven’t been able to send in the rest of my analysis again 😭 I got sick but for now, I can’t help but be curious as to what field you studied or work in? Your writing seems really thorough and I just figured there may be a connection somewhat? But it’s ok if you don’t want to answer that ^^
I’m sorry you’re sick! Please focus on rest and getting better! I love your analysis, but take care of yourself first and foremost! I’ll always read and look forward to them but there’s no pressure to send any, don’t worry :3
My fields of study were English, psychology, and theatre! I guess it’s not much of a surprise to learn I studied creative writing. Psychology was more for the “career” aspect I suppose, but overall I did enjoy the field and just learning for the sake of learning it if anything else.
Theatre was just for fun! Plus one of my degrees required a minor lol.
Thank you for the compliment! I’ve been fortunate enough to learn and mentor under some very cool people.
