Home Run (NSFW) Ft. Sohee
The winner of poll for Wednesday’s fic. Hope y'all enjoy.
Tumblr media
Sohee had always loved baseball for the entirety of your relationship. It was so all-consuming that you often wondered if she loved the "sport" more than you. You couldn't stand the sport however mostly because of its glacial pace, and lack of stacks in moment-to-moment play. Rugby was more your speed, but you learned the tells and watched 4 full seasons of Eagles games. at this point, you knew the sport almost inside and out begrudgingly, but you loved Sohee and she did make it worth your while. when watching the last game of the season you partially zoned out as a new game on the switch came out. so you were enjoying that Muted so Sohee could get the full experience of watching her team. As the game winded down you looked towards the stat sheet to catch up on what was going on.
"Ugh well, there goes our chance at playoffs." Sohee groaned indicating that both the game and her team's season were over.
Absent you say, "Their playoff hopes were dashed ages ago and until they do something about their offensive play then they will continue to fall behind the pack."
Sohee turns to you surprised, "How do you know this she challenged
"Well, defensively they are great 12 strikeouts to 8 is insane, they also had a similar number of at-bats, hits, and batting averages. the disparity comes in runs batted in and bases on ball which contributed to an early lead for the Giants that was just too much to overcome. You explained without looking up from your switch.
"but other games have been closer!" Sohee asserted confidently.
at this point, you look up from your switch to smile at your lovely girlfriend and say, "Baby I love you but your team finished 9 out of 10 in the rankings this year. I know you say it's not a "numbers" game and there is more to it than stats but in this specific case the numbers don't lie." To soften the sting you kiss her cheek.
Sohee smiles and says, "Since when did you become an expert on my team."
"Babe," you groan, "We have watched this entire season. Now I know they are not the same team as last year but at least for this season, they had offensive issues. That much is apparent with how many games ended in one-sided games of 7-2 or 8-0, or..." Sohee seeing your point kisses you before you start running more numbers off. Quiet as it's kept she would always get so turned on when you talked baseball. She was dripping wet when she straddled you as the kiss languished into a full make-out.
"Someone's feeling frisky." you tease.
"I just can't help it. When my boyfriend knows his stuff it makes me all excited." Sohee replies demurely, she would never admit it to you but whenever you started getting super into the stats and numbers her head would begin to spin with arousal and she always had to resist the urge to just drain you then and there. Today though you were both off for the next couple of days so she could fuck you as long as she wanted. She began the horizontal tango by pushing down on the couch as she began to kiss you more fervently.
"Um, babe I hate to kill the mood but can I ask that you give me one second to let go of the switch." You asked as she broke the kiss to breathe.
"hm," Sohee huffed.
"Hey I can't massage your ass the way you like if I don't have both my hands." you tease. Sohee smiled gleefully and let you go. you run to the dock to place your switch before going back to her, and she wastes no time returning to her attack on your body, but you are not merely prey. you counterattack her kisses of your neck and collarbone by massaging her bountiful rump. She mewls in pleasure eager to egg you on. As the two of you kiss her tongue is the first to explore your mouth. She draws you in and refuses to relinquish control as she has her tongue dance along the whole of your mouth. when she breaks the kiss to breathe a trail of saliva links the two of you together still Sohee licks her lips and purrs before unfastening your belt. You groan in pleasure as she fishes out your cock and begins to suck on it. you try not to push her down as her cheeks hollow and she takes you further than ever, but the comfort and warmth of her throat cause you to buck your hips which leads to a further loss of control as you begin to relentlessly fuck her throat. You watch as your girlfriend's eyes roll back as you continue to use her throat to pleasure you. the sounds of gags break the silence of your shared apartment, as she submits to you wholly and completely. You continue to use her throat with reckless abandon
You don't stop until you feel your release and cum down her throat. As you sense, you see Sohee stare at you with a look she has never displayed before. She gets up and smiles at you lustfully. "You like using me like a little fuckdoll?" she says with angered lust.
"You like just using my throat like it's your toy?" she pressures. She begins to corner you and of course, this leads to the bedroom. she pushes you down and begins to suck your cock again. you groan as she takes you down her throat, but this time it's different as she begins to manipulate her throat muscles in a way that's foreign but insane to you.
"Oh God," you scream as Sohee works over your cock. Sohee smiles and eggs you on
"You gonna cum for mommy. Come on cum down Mommy's throat like the good boy you are and I just might let you fuck my pussy." You can't hold out much longer as Sohee continues to relentlessly suck and gorge herself on your rod before you cum again, but she's not done with you yet. she begins to rub your cock to get it hard again
Your overwhelmed body barely can stop the moan of pleasure and discomfort as Sohee takes you inside. She smiles at Sickly while watching you squirm under her.
“Babe please stop,” you beg but Sohee begins to ride you oblivious to your discomfort she chases her high.
“Oh I just love how you fill me up,” she says as she begins her deadly body roll her tight tummy hypnotizes you as she continues grinding on your cock. She continues to chase her release despite your protests. You groan and wince as she pushes you further and further past your
limits, while she loses herself more and more to pleasure. Eventually, you pass out.
When you wake up your head is pounding as you feel something wet and tight on your crotch it's Sohee. She's passed out while you're still inside her. You chuckle and adjust so the two of you can cuddle together. When you get into a comfortable position Sohee nestles closer.
“I may not know baseball but you are my favorite home run,” you say as you fall asleep again

Some Fatherly Advice
Tumblr media
A/N: In need of some father and son moments between Mike and Armando.
Synopsis: Mike gives advice to Armando about Y/N
Y/N and Armando have been best friends for years. The two of them madly in love with each other, but neither of them want to take the risk of admitting it. Y/N is very goal driven, she wants what she wants and refuses to steer away from that. She's 27 and wanting to slow down from AMMO and start a family within the next 4 years. Before Captain's passing he had promised after working with AMMO for 3 years that she will have a position waiting for her in New York that was more laid back.
Today after the debriefing, Rita walks in with balloons and a cake for Y/N. Marcus and Mike being the one to make the announcement
"Happy 3 year to our favorite girl in the world. Since having you join the AMMO squad you have filled us with nothing but sass and goddamn attitude." Mike joked causing us all the laugh. He was half joking cause you always stood on business.
"We love you and girl your new position awaits you in NEW YORKKK" Marcus and Mike cheers as they pop the champagne bottle. Armando looks over at Y/N completely in denial.
"You're moving!?" If looks could break your heart, Armando's puppy eyes would take the trophy. Before Y/N could answer Armando storms out not wanting to listen to anyone. Marcus signals Mike to go talk to him while everyone comforts and congratulates you.
"Hey! Are you out of your mind doing that right now?!" Mike follows Armando to the garage. Armando doesn't say anything, but pace around.
"Oh...you love her don't you?" Armando sighs and nods his head.
"Listen I know im probably the last person you want to go to for advice, but you better go tell her you love her. We both know once that girl got her mind on something there's no changing it. Before she gets on that plane, you tell her cause at least you know you did." Armando looks at Mike for a second before giving him a hug.
"I love you son, now go get your girl. We both know she's the only one who can deal with your ass" Armando laughs and heads back inside.
Y/N was at her desk, eating some cake and finishing up some paperwork.
"Hey beautiful." He slides his computer chair next to hers. Mike and Marcus silently waving everyone out without getting your attention.
"Don't hey beautiful me nothing. You stormed off like a dick." She shoves another piece of cake in her mouth and moves her chair away from him. Oh does he love that attitude of hers. He tries to grab her hand only for her to flick it away. She wasn't having it. He could have congratulated her and excused himself before giving her that energy.
Still ignoring him she clicks print on a few files heading over to the printer then to the elevator. Armando following her, clicking her floor number and giving him a death glare she stays silent. Armando clicks the red button not knowing what it does: just hoping it stopped the elevator.
“Armando! What the fuck! You are so irritating! First first of all you ruined my 3 year celebration by being a grumpy pain in my fucking ass. Then and then you wanna sit next to me while I’m working and think shit is sweet. Guess what?! It’s not! I can’t beli-“ Armando pushes her against the wall and presses his lips to hers. God this women could argue till the earth blew up.
“I’m sorry for ruining the celebration. Just the thought of losing you is hard for me. I love you.” He rest his hand on her cheek, taking in her not so shocked reaction.
“What took you so damn long!” Y/N pulls him back in for a long passionate kiss.

Thoughts on HTN Act Four on my ??th reread:
- Harrow says "You cannot build in the River. It is a dimension of perpetual flux. Defined space is nonsense here. You might as well try to wall off Time with bricks and mortar." Which hits VERY DIFFERENT after Nona when we physically see a Tower rising from the River - this is way more like bricks and mortar than Pal's bubble even! IS THIS A CHEEKY LITTLE FORESHADOW OF WHAT THE TOWER IS???
- I think it's so fucking funny that Harrow tells her lobotomized self to silence Judith, like she knew Judith was going to speak her inconvenient mind no matter what
- There are 24 total letters. One for Harrow, one for Ianthe, one for Ianthe to give to Gideon Nav if met, one for Cam, one in case Harrow met Judith, one in case Harrow met Corona .... so like most of the letters went unopened. What happened to them? They went into the River but did anyone pick them up?
- Teacher says: "When the work was done, when I was finished and so were they, and the new Lyctors found out the price, they bade him kill the saltwater creature before she could do them harm." This still makes no sense.
We know (from Chapter 37) that "the price" is one of a set of John's lies - that the RBs would chase them and destroy them for the indelible sin of Lyctorhood. But that only explains why they thought Alecto would harm them if they knew Alecto was an RB (truth), and they thought RBs hunt Lyctors (lie). Throughout HTN, Augustine and Mercy both appear to know a lot more about John's motives than John tells Harrow, but we don't actually know if they learned this, or the history of the ten billion, from John or from BoE. When they had Alecto locked into the Tomb, they certainly didn't know that Alecto is John's cavalier, or else the big reveal about Alecto's and John's eyes would not have been such a big deal ten thousand years later. What did John tell them at the time? "Oh hey RBs kill Lyctors and we've been hanging out with one this whole time?" I don't think so! Did they just randomly guess there was an RB in their midst? Seems unlikely! So why did they suddenly turn on Alecto?
- When Augustine says Harrow's call sign is H, just H - is that him taking pity on her (knowing what her cavalier's name should be and choosing not to use the initial G), or him condescending to her because she is not a complete Lyctor?
- When Alecto learns that Varun is coming and she's astonished that it's happening... this is very interesting. She shouldn't be surprised if she already knows the RBs are chasing her and trying to get to her, but her astonishment makes it seem like she doesn't actually know this.
- the way Harrow prays that Ianthe isn't the traitor.... hmmmmmmm
- Cytherea tried to bodily go to the surface of an RB and failed, having gone "mad for weeks"
- Cyrus died before Ulysses and Cassiopeia. When he drove the corpus into a black hole, Ulysses drove the brain through the stoma and Cassy dropped the body into the River alongside the brain; which means Cyrus was the first to go. (Though obviously Cassy's death was faked.)
- The way Mercy describes the RBs: #2 sounds like Mercury (quicksilver), #6 sounds like Uranus (sphincters), #4 sounds like Venus (a humanoid creature with a beautiful face) #1 sounds like ... I don't know, maybe Mars (looked to Mercy like a great and incoherent machine, with a great tail and a thousand broken pillars on its back; looked to Cassy like a mechanical monster with swords for wings and great horns, tesselated over with graves; both of these say "war machine" to me), #8 sounds like either Jupiter or Neptune (a giant head, finned like a fish, teeth protruding from its own skull - fish suggests ocean/Neptune; red with a big green eye - eye suggests Jupiter), #7 looks like Neptune because it's blue but I think it's actually Saturn (who is classed as a Varunian god, who ate his children, and of course we know from NTN that #7 is named Varun the Eater), whatever number Alecto is is Earth, and that leaves Pluto and either Jupiter or Neptune unnumbered and undescribed. I'd guess Alecto is #9, which leaves #3 and #5.
- Augustine says Mercy's House "suckles at the stoma like a damned teat." We know the Second House drains thanergy to turn it into thalergy and the Eighth House is the opposite of the Second in that way; so it drains - or sucks - thalergy. Which is hella fucking curious because it suggests that the power on the other side of the stoma may actually be **thalergy**. But when you think about it, that actually starts to make sense. John says that the other side of the stoma is "a genuinely chaotic space," "a portal to the place I cannot touch, somewhere I don't fully comprehend, where my power and my authority are utterly meaningless," and that "no ghosts venture deeper than the bathyrhoic layer." What could be more chaotic than a fount of pure life energy - afterlife energy, even? What could take the wind out of John's sails more, or contradict his power more, than a source of actual, eternal life? We know from GTN that death has to connect to life, and life to death; death can't be linked up to death like that, the opposites call to one another. And we know for certain that the force on the other side of the stoma calls to John, who is a great conduit of thanergy, and the Resurrection Beasts, who are massive, planet sized pools of thanergy. I think the stoma opens for them because they're Big Thanergy and the stoma is the gate to Big Thalergy.
Also: we don't actually know that no ghosts get all the way down to the bottom of the River except if they're like really evil, which is what John posits. We know we do not see ghosts at the bottom of the River. It doesn't follow that ghosts just choose not to go there. This fact could also be explained if the Big Thalergy on the other side of the stoma is pulling all the nearby ghosts through. Classic causal inference fail - John has the direction of the causal relationship backwards.
- John can't project his soul into the River and enter the "senseless state" because then Alecto would come to the fore and take over his body.
- Harrowhark has never had a father figure - or a figure who wanted to be her father - except he tried to kill her.
- Harrow saying she's not a person because she's a chimera or a war crime... ohh... 😭😭😭
- John says he designed the Tomb *with* Anastasia and never wanted it opened from either end, yet at the end of NTN we find Anastasia's body in there with Alecto... so either the Tomb was always openable by Anastasia or John knew she would die in there.

Don’t Like The Lights
Sequel to Flashing Lights series, must read Flashing Lights first to understand
Series Masterlist
4. Flights Booked
When last did we feel this close together? Chasing sunsets in California. Don't make me wait, babe, it's been forever
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack taps his fingers along the steering wheel as he waits for his phone to connect to the Bluetooth in his car. “Hey, CoCo, it’s Jack Harlow”
CoCo answered, her tone teasing. “Do you always answer the phone by saying your first and last name?”
Jack chuckled, “Only when I want to make a good impression. Got a sec to talk about Maryse’s schedule for the next two weeks?”
Her tone shifted to one of curiosity. “Sure thing, what’s up?”
“I was hoping to plan a surprise vacation for us before things get too hectic,” Jack explained. “Just wanted to know if she has any free time coming up.”
He heard shuffling on the other line before CoCo said, “Hmm, let’s see… Well, she has a couple of interviews and a few studio sessions lined up, but nothing that can’t be moved around. You’re in luck—she’s relatively free the next two weeks.”
“That’s perfect! Can you shuffle things around without giving away the surprise?”
“Consider it done,” she replied with a smile in her voice. “And just so you know, this is incredibly sweet of you. She’s going to love it. I’ve been begging this girl to go on vacation for years now!”
Jack profusely thanked her before hanging up, he then called Doja’s number, hoping she’ll be up for the challenge. He knew that keeping a secret from Maryse was no easy feat, especially when it involved her wardrobe.
“Hey, it’s me,” he greeted Doja, who answered on the second ring. “I need a favor. A big one.”
“Uh-oh, what did you do?” Doja teased.
“Nothing bad, I promise. I hate to interrupt the girls trip but I’m planning a surprise vacation for Maryse, and I need you to help pack her some clothes. Just tell her it’s a surprise if she asks,” Jack explained.
Jack could hear Doja’s excitement through the phone. “That’s so sweet! Of course, I’ll help. When do you need this done?”
“As soon as possible.” He tells her. “I’m still in Kentucky but I’m going to surprise her at the airport when she’s on her way back. From New York were going straight to our destination.”
“I’ll get Saweetie involved, and we’ll handle it. You just focus on making this the best surprise ever!”
“Thank you, you guys are lifesavers,” he said, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.
“Anything for you two. She’s going to be over the moon.”
After they hung up the phone Jack started booking the private villa and making sure his plane was ready for the two of them. He wanted this vacation to be perfect.
A few hours later as Jack was finishing up packing for the trip, he heard his phone chime with a text and he knew it was Maryse. “What are you planning, white boy?!
Jack snickered, texting back “What are you talking about?”
He laughed out loud when he saw the string of angry emojis she sent his way. He proceeded to send her a voice message letting her know that he loved her and that he couldn’t wait for her to come home. Jack stayed up a bit longer to organize a few more details for the trip before he finally turned into bed knowing he would have to get up early to make the short trip to New York to surprise Maryse.
***
Maryse walked into the airport, tired but happy to be heading back home. She still couldn’t believe Kentucky was home now. She had no idea what was in store for her. As she made her way through the terminal, she spotted Jack waiting for her, a huge smile on his face. She quickened her pace, her own smile spreading as she approached him.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, surprise and delight in her voice as she leapt into his arms and squeezed him tight.
“I fucking missed you.” Not caring that they were in a crowded airport, and crashed his lips against hers. Jack could have stayed there just kissing her forever and it seemed like Maryse was intent on doing that but Jack pulled away, saying, “I have a surprise for you.”
Maryse looked at him curiously, but nodded. “Okay, lead the way.”
Jack couldn’t wipe the grin off his face as he led her through the bustling New York airport. He could tell the suspense was eating at her. Maryse kept glancing at him, eyes wide with excitement.
“Where are we going?” she asked for the tenth time, her voice a mix of excitement and impatience.
“You’ll see,” he replied, squeezing her hand reassuringly.
Finally, they reached a secluded part of the airport. Maryse’s eyes widened even more when she saw the sleek, private plane waiting for them on the tarmac. She stopped in her tracks, looking from the plane to Jack in disbelief.
“What is this?” she asked, her voice barely more than a whisper.
“This,” Jack said, turning to face her with a wide smile, “is our ride. We’re going on vacation.”
Jack was living for the look of pure joy on her face. He swore he would have done anything just to see that look on her face that only grew when he explained, “I called CoCo and got everything taken off your schedule for the next two weeks and we’re going to Brazil right now.”
“Right now? I haven’t even packed, and do we have somewhere to stay?” The planner in her was stressing out as she began to ramble.
Jack pulled her back in arms as he brought his lips to hers, kissing her deeply. “Everything is taken care of, Doja emptied out your suitcase while you were out and put everything you’ll need for the trip in there.”
“You did all this?” Maryse asked, stunned. They had talked about taking a vacation a couple weeks ago but Jack hadn't brought it up again so she thought he forgot about it.
He nodded, his smile widening. “Yep. Just for us. I wanted everything to be perfect.”
Tears welled up in Maryse’s eyes as she threw her arms around him. “You’re amazing. I can’t believe you did this.”
Jack hugged her tightly, feeling the warmth of her embrace. “You deserve it,” he said softly. “We both do.”
They spent the 12 hour flight cuddled up on the couch of the plane, trading kisses back and forth. Their phones were off, they were in a plane alone, and they had nothing on their schedules for the next two weeks. They were truly going to be able to relax.
Hours later, they landed at a small, private airport in Brazil. From there, they were whisked away to a stunning, secluded villa. The moment they arrived, Maryse's eyes widened in amazement at the sight of their temporary home. The villa was nestled on a pristine beach, with crystal-clear waters stretching out as far as the eye could see.
“This is unbelievable,” Maryse said, her voice filled with awe. As she looked out the balcony of their bedroom. “It’s like a dream.”
Jack wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close. “Welcome to paradise,” he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “I wanted to give us a place where we could really relax and reconnect.”
She looked up at him, her heart swelling with love and gratitude. “You’re incredible,” she said, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him. “Thank you.”
“I need to see what Doja packed for me.” Maryse said, pulling away so she could go to her suitcases. “She didn’t pack one bikini that will even cover my ass, and I’m pretty sure the rest is just all lingerie. There’s only like 3 dresses in here!”
Jack put his hands on his hips looking at the clothes. “I don’t really see the problem.”
Maryse shook her head at him. “I guess she doesn’t expect me to leave this house based on what she’s packed for me.”
Jack grabbed her hips, pulling them up against his own while he told her, “I’m still having a hard time figuring out what the problem is.”
“Of course you wouldn’t, but can we take a nap before we start exploring? I’m sleepy,” she said, turning in his arms and snuggling closer to him.
“Yeah, c’mon,” he replied, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “We have all the time in the world.”
He helped her to her feet. The bedroom was just as luxurious as the rest of the place, with a king-sized bed that looked incredibly inviting. Maryse sighed with contentment as she crawled under the soft, white sheets.
Jack joined her, wrapping his arms around her as she settled into his embrace. “This is perfect,” she murmured, her voice already drowsy.
“Just like you,” he whispered back, planting a soft kiss on her forehead.
She smiled sleepily, not even having the energy to call him out for being corny. “Thank you for this. For everything.”
“Anything for you,” he replied, watching as she drifted off to sleep. He stayed awake for a while, holding her close and listening to the sound of her breathing. It felt surreal to be here, in this beautiful place, with the woman he loved more than anything in the world.
As he finally closed his eyes, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. They had gone through so much, but they had come out stronger on the other side. And now, they had this time together to heal, to reconnect.
Maryse woke up before the sun had full risen, she turned to see Jack still asleep beside her, his mouth slightly open, soft snores escaping his lips. A smile tugged at her lips as she watched him.
Unable to resist she leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. Jack stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open. “Good morning,” she whispered against his skin, trailing kisses down to his cheek and then his lips.
Jack groaned softly, a lazy smile spreading across his face as he woke up to her tender kisses. “Mmm, morning,” he mumbled, reaching up to pull her closer. “This is the best way to wake up.”
She laughed softly, her fingers tracing the lines of his jaw. “I thought so too. How did you sleep?”
“Perfectly,” he replied, tightening his hold on her. They lay there for a moment, wrapped in each other’s arms, soaking in the peace of the morning. The sound of the waves crashing gently against the shore outside added to the calm atmosphere.
“I love you,” she whispered, her heart full.
“I love you too,” he replied, his eyes shining with sincerity. “So much.”
“Let’s get up and shower together. I want to start our day right.”
He chuckled, stretching his arms above his head before pulling her closer for a lingering kiss. “That sounds like the perfect way to start the day.”
They untangled themselves from the sheets and made their way to the spacious bathroom. Jack turned on the shower, adjusting the temperature before they stepped in together.
Maryse tested it with her hand and frowned. “This isn’t hot enough,” she complained, turning to Jack with a playful pout.
Jack laughed, shaking his head. “The temperature doesn’t need to be in hell, you know.”
She giggled, rolling her eyes. “I like it hot.”
“Clearly,” he teased, but he adjusted the temperature a bit more to her liking. “How’s that?”
“Better,” she conceded with a satisfied smile.
The shower seemed to grow warmer around them, the steam mingling with their breath as they held each other close. Jack’s hands roamed her back, and she felt a familiar thrill of excitement and comfort all at once.
Maryse leaned into his touch, feeling the warmth of his hand against her skin. She closed the distance between them, pressing her lips to his in a slow, passionate kiss.
The kiss deepened, and Jack backed her against the shower wall, his arms coming up to cage her in their bodies pressed together. He pulled back slightly, his breath mingling with hers. “Tell me you love me,” he said, his voice a husky plea.
“I love you,” she responded without hesitation, her eyes locked onto his, as she slid her hands back up his chest, resting on his shoulders as she pulled him closer, pulling him back into the kiss.
Breaking away for a moment, Jack pressed his forehead against hers, both of them breathing heavily. “Is it bad that I wanna keep you just like this for the rest of the trip?,” he whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of the water.
“Not bad at all,” she said, pressing a kiss to the freckles on his shoulders. “In fact, I was thinking the same thing.”
“I mean, exploring Brazil is great and all, but being with you like this… it’s perfect.”
“Perfect, huh?” She teased, her hands running up and down his chest. “I like the sound of that.”
“But we should actually shower before we turn into prunes,” Maryse said, gently pushing him back with a playful smile. “So, keep your hands to yourself.”
Jack grinned, reluctantly letting her go. “Alright, alright. But only because you asked so nicely.”
She laughed, turning to adjust the water temperature. “It’s not that I don’t enjoy this,” she said over her shoulder, “but we did come here to see more than just the inside of this shower.”
“Fair point,” he admitted, watching as she rinsed the shampoo out of her hair. “But just so you know, you’re making it very hard to focus on anything else.”
“Focus, mister,” she teased, handing him the body wash. “We’ll have plenty of time for that later.”
He sighed dramatically, but took the body wash from her. “Fine. But I’m counting down the minutes.”
She rolled her eyes affectionately. “Of course you are.”
After the shower, they decided to put on their swimwear and take a walk along the beach. Maryse slipped on the only one suit that her friends seemed to pack while Jack donned his favorite swim trunks. Now afternoon the sun was shining bright.
“Ready to go?” she asked, adjusting her sunglasses.
“Absolutely”
As they made their way to the shore, Maryse stopped and tugged on Jack’s hand. “Wait a minute,” she said with a playful grin. “Let me put some sunscreen on you so you don’t turn into Larry the Lobster.”
Jack chuckled. “Larry the Lobster? Really?”
“Yes, really,” she replied, reaching into her beach bag and pulling out a bottle of sunscreen. “Your skin’s too nice to get all burned up.”
“Alright, alright,” he conceded, turning his back to her. “Lather me up.”
Maryse squirted a generous amount of sunscreen into her hands and started applying it to his back. She took her time, enjoying the chance to touch his skin and make sure he was well protected. “You know,” she said as she worked, “I always thought you had great skin.”
“Is that so?” he asked, looking over his shoulder with a smirk.
“Yep,” she confirmed, moving her hands up to his shoulders and neck. “Now turn around so I can get your chest.”
Jack obliged, turning to face her. As she applied the sunscreen to his chest, he couldn’t help but admire her concentration. “You’re really taking this Larry the Lobster thing seriously, huh?”
She laughed. “I am. Can’t have you looking like a cooked crab.”
“Well, I appreciate it,” he said, leaning down to kiss her lightly on the lips. “Now, your turn.”
“Oh no, I’ve already put some on!,” she started to protest, but he was already squirting sunscreen into his hands.
“Turn around,” he instructed with a grin.
With a resigned smile, she turned her back to him, and he began to apply the sunscreen to her shoulders and back. His touch was gentle but thorough, and she closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his hands on her skin. “You only wanted an excuse to touch me.”
Jack laughed, not denying it. “Can you blame me?”
“Not really,” she admitted with a smile, feeling her cheeks warm under his gaze. “Now, make sure you get every spot. I don’t want any sunburn.”
“As you wish,” he said, his hands moving gently across her back, spreading the sunscreen evenly. “Just doing my duty to keep you safe.”
“You’re such a hero,” she teased, feeling more at ease with each passing moment.
“Since day one.” Jack said, pressing a kiss to her head.
Once they were done they walked further down the shore “This place is beautiful,” Maryse remarked, looking out at the horizon.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Jack replied, giving her hand a squeeze.
She rolled her eyes playfully. “Corny.”
Just as they were getting comfortable, Jack suddenly stopped and turned to her with a gleam in his eye. “You know what this beach walk is missing?”
“What?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Without warning, he scooped her up and threw her over his shoulder. “A little fun!” he declared, sprinting towards the ocean.
“Jack!” she shrieked, laughing as he ran. “Put me down!”
He charged into the water, the cool waves crashing around them. When they were waist-deep, he gently set her down. The surprise and exhilaration made her giggle uncontrollably.
“You are such a kid,” she said, splashing him with water.
“And you love it,” he replied, splashing her back.
They played in the water, their laughter echoing across the beach. For a moment, all past worries and concerns were washed away by the ocean. It was just the two of them, enjoying each other’s company and the simple joy of being together.
Jack watched as Maryse people watched from her beach chair, he couldn’t help but take his phone out to snap a photo of how beautiful she looked. Knowing this would be his only time on social media for the whole trip, he wanted to make it count.

Maryse was doing her makeup in the bathroom mirror, carefully applying the final touches to her look for the evening. She was focused, making sure everything was perfect, when she glanced up and saw Jack standing in the doorway.
He was dressed in all white, looking almost god-like. The sight took her breath away. For a moment, she wished she could skip dinner altogether and have her way with him right there.
“You look incredible,” she said, unable to hide the admiration in her voice.
Jack smiled, walking over to her. “You’re not looking too bad yourself.”
Her cheeks warmed, turning back to the mirror to hide her smile. “You’re going to make it hard to concentrate on dinner.”
He leaned down, his breath warm against her ear. “Maybe that’s the point.”
Maryse shivered, a thrill running down her spine. “We have reservations, you know,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
“Reservations can wait,” Jack replied, his hands gently resting on her hips. “But if you insist, I guess we can make it quick.”
She laughed, playfully swatting his hands away. “As tempting as that sounds, I think we should at least show up before we cancel all our plans.”
Jack sighed dramatically. “Fine, but you owe me later.”
She turned to face him, their eyes locking. “I think I can manage that.”
They shared a lingering kiss before finally pulling away. With one last glance in the mirror, Maryse took Jack’s hand, ready to head out for their dinner date, even though part of her wished they could stay wrapped up in each other all night long.
As they sat down for dinner, Maryse found herself seated across from Jack, enjoying the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. However, Jack had other plans. With a mischievous grin, he motioned for her to switch seats and sit next to him, wanting her closer.
Maryse laughed, but obliged, sliding into the seat next to him. “You just can’t bear to be apart from me, can you?” she teased, nudging him playfully.
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. “Not even for a second,” he replied, planting a kiss on her cheek.
As they perused the menu, Maryse noticed that parts of it were in Portuguese. Having picked up a bit of the language from her time during tour last year, she was able to help translate for Jack, pointing out dishes that looked promising.
“Here, this one looks delicious,” she said, tapping on an item. “It’s a local specialty.”
Jack grinned, grateful for her help. “Thanks, love. I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he said, giving her a squeeze.
Like always when they went out to dinner, they always ended up switching plates. As Maryse was taking a bite of his food she felt a chill run through her. Looking up, her heart dropped as she saw Nate walk into the restaurant, holding a girl's hand. What were the odds that he would be here at the same time as her?
She froze for a moment, feeling a surge of unexpected emotions. Despite the time that had passed, seeing him brought back a flood of memories of their last encounter.
Jack noticed the change in her demeanor and followed her gaze, his expression turning serious as he saw her ex enter the restaurant. “Is everything okay?” he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Maryse took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. “Yeah, it’s just… I didn’t expect to see him here,” she admitted, her voice slightly shaky.
He squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Hey, you don’t have to worry. You’re with me now, and I’ve got your back,” he said softly, his gaze steady and supportive.
They both continued dinner with Nate in the back of both their minds. Maryse decided to go to the restroom just as they were getting ready to leave the restaurant. She cursed to herself when she realized she would have to walk past him to get there.
She tried to maneuver past Nate, hoping to avoid any interaction, but he reached out and stopped her.
“Maryse, wait,” he said, his voice pleading.
She turned to face him, her expression guarded. “What do you want? And let go of me.” she asked, her tone curt.
Nate immediately dropped his hand from her wrist. He then took a deep breath, visibly nervous. “I just… I wanted to apologize,” he began, his words coming out in a rush. Maryse had never seen him this nervous in her life.
“I’ve been going to rehab and therapy, and I’ve been working on myself. I’m actually in a new relationship now. I know I messed things up between us, and I’m sorry. I just want you to know that I’m trying to be a better person.”
Maryse listened to his words, feeling a mix of emotions stirring inside her. She appreciated his efforts to change, but she couldn’t ignore the pain he had caused her in the past.
“I’m glad you’re getting help, and I really hope you’re treating her a lot better than you treated me,” she said finally, her voice tinged with resignation. “But the damage has already been done. I need you to respect my boundaries and leave me alone. I’m trying to move on with my life.”
Nate nodded, his expression crestfallen. “I understand,” he murmured, taking a step back.
She gave him a brief nod and turned around back towards the table deciding she just wanted to go back to her villa with Jack. As she got back to the table she could tell he had caught the tail end of her conversation with Nate.
Jack reached out, gently squeezing her hand in reassurance. “If you ever need to talk about it, I’m here,” he said softly.
“I know.” Maryse said, bringing his hand up to her lips and pressing a soft kiss to the back of his hand.
On the walk back to their villa, Maryse couldn’t help but be amazed at how much she had grown since the breakup with Nate. A year ago, an encounter like that would have sent her spiraling into a whirlwind of emotions, but now she felt a newfound sense of strength.
Jack was relieved to see Maryse handle the situation with such grace and composure. She seemed unfazed by Nate’s presence, and her boundaries she sat spoke volumes about her growth.
However, he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that her Nate’s reappearance might stir up old wounds or trigger insecurities. He made a mental note to keep a close eye on Maryse in the coming days.
When they got back to their private villa from dinner, Jack carried Maryse in his arms, her laughter bubbling up as he strode through the doorway. He gently threw her onto the bed, a playful gleam in his eyes.
“Don’t rip my dress,” she warned, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “It’s expensive.”
He leaned over her, his breath warm against her skin. “I’ll buy you a new one,” he whispered before kissing her, silencing her protests. His lips were urgent, as he kissed her and she melted into him. His hands roamed her back, unzipping the dress with a practiced ease, his lips never leaving hers.
Maryse found herself caged in his arms, feeling the intensity of his need for her. “I love being in your arms,” she whispered, her voice barely audible against the rush of their shared breaths.
“And I love having you in mine,” he replied, his words a vow as much as an expression of his feelings. He kissed her again, slower this time, savoring the taste and feel of her, and she knew that this was where she was meant to be.
Hours later they were tangled into the sheets as they listened to the waves hitting the shore. “I’m obsessed with you,” Jack murmured, his lips brushing against her ear, sending shivers down her spine.
She looked up at him, her eyes softening. “Good, because I’m obsessed with you too.”
“Say it again,” he demanded softly, his hands tracing gentle patterns on her skin.
Maryse loved how he always asked her to say it again, as if he needed to hear the words to believe in their reality.
“I’m obsessed with you,” she repeated, her voice filled with emotion. “I always have been.”
He kissed her deeply, a kiss that spoke of love, longing, and a future they both yearned for. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them, together, wrapped up in their own world.
“I don’t ever want to be without you again,” he whispered against her lips.
“You won’t be,” she assured him, pulling him closer. “We’re in this together, now and always.”
As they drifted off to sleep, she couldn’t help but think about how much they had been through together, and how much stronger they were for it. The road to get back to this point wasn’t easy but it was worth it.

Hi Sarah! Love you hcs could you do some hcs about bonten rindou who's trying to get attention from the reader but the reader is busy?? Thank you love!!!

Rindou wanting attention hcs
₊˚ෆ Okay so one thing that I know is that Rindou is an attention seeker (just like his brother), don't ask me how I just know 🤷🏽‍♀️
₊˚ෆ He's the little brother after all, what else did you expect?
₊˚ෆ Plus, Ran doesn't help, really. Like I believe that Ran's Rindou's number one fan. I hc that when Rindou had a theater or smh like that at school Ran would be in the first line recording, clapping, screaming and just being Ran tbh.
₊˚ෆ At the start of your relationship with him he wouldn't show it, he's a 29 year old mafia man who is independant (his brother doesn't count), but as it progresses…
₊˚ෆ Look, when it comes to you, realistically, or he couldn't care less or he would lose his mind. Like he's a mafia man, I don't know what you expected.
₊˚ෆ If is the last option, the only Bonten member apart from him you'll know is his brother, no one else. This man is like a doberman, he'll protect you even if that's the last thing he'll do.
₊˚ෆ Ofc, Ran would do the same. You make his brother happy? He would protect you no matter what, just like Rindou would do it with his girl. There would be 4 persons in your marriage with Rindou; the two of you ofc and then Ran and his wife.
₊˚ෆ Because of this closeness, you and Ran's wife inevitably became friends, reaching the point of being like sisters who grew up together.
₊˚ෆ The only way for you to be Rindou's wife is if you knew him before everything. Here, the woman of the process was you and the woman to whom Rindou showed his teachings was also you. The same happens with Ran.
₊˚ෆ You'll meet each other in your high schooler years and stay with together since then, as the same happens with Rans wife, you girls practically grew up together.
₊˚ෆ When your husbands work, you would be going to Pilates class together, having brunches very frequently, planning playdates for your children (if you have them) and so on.
₊˚ෆ Basically you girls are maintained, at their insistence more than anything (because there is no way your husbands will let their wives do a single bit of work).
₊˚ෆ In this family of 4, visit each other was a tradition. Every Saturday, you went to each other's houses to have dinner.
₊˚ෆ Of course, when you see your bestie you forget about everything else. She's your bestie after all, you've got to tell each other tea when the spoon, the sugar and the cup weren't around. And if there's someone to blame, it's their fault.
₊˚ෆ Rindou didn't notice, just happy to see you happily talking with your best friend. He knows he is out very often, so he's glad you have someone to talk to.
₊˚ෆ But when the hours went by, and you're just talking with his brother and his wife, Rindou started to pout.
"What? You're seeing things, go check yourself for schizophrenia baby." he'll say every time you bring up the topic.
₊˚ෆ Rindou's an attention seeker and a semidirect one, like he'll give you a very direct hint about his feelings. He's a man, he's not ashamed about his feelings (to the most of them) and he's a "were not going to bed before we resolve our problem" type of guy.
₊˚ෆ He demonstrated this after a while.
You and Rans wife were happily talking in the living room, Ran doing some comments here and there but mostly of all you and her.
"–and the house must be clean! And that's literally what he told Asteria" she finished, leaning back to her husband’s arm again.
"No way!" you gasped in shock.
"I know, right? After all the things Asteria has done for him." she said letting out a sigh "He has the nerve to ask for more when she has done the impossible for him and for their family."
"Men these days." you denied with disappointment, getting supported by an assent and a 'yeah' for her part "Oh! How did I forget it? We have a present for you guys for your new pregnancy!" you revealed enthusiastic.
"Really? You guys didn't have to." said Ran.
"Nonsense, we gotta show our good wishes for the new future member." replied Rindou "It's in the car, we'll go for it, wait here." Rindou said standing up first, extending a hand to help you standing up.
As you guys were going to the garage, you felt a hand on your waist, pulling you closely to Rindous body.
"You know, you seem to enjoy the company of your best friend who you see almost every day more than the company of your husband, the one who is out very often." he said, giving you a squeeze on your waist while he took out the car keys with the other one.
"Ow, you want my attention? Is that what's going on?" you said teasing him, losing the warmth of his hand as he went to get the gift.
"Yes. I would be grateful, thank you." Rindou said directly, coming back with the gift (a very pretty baby cart that costed thousands) in his hands.
You chuckle as you were going to his side, hugging one of his arms and starting to tell him that it would be great to have another baby (or your first) so that It could be your best friends partner and thanks to that you could become family and- No, Rindou, our marriage is not enough, if our kids get married it would be like another different level.
Rindou, looking at you while you were daydreaming about some childhood best friend trope, wouldn't avoid the thought of-
Anything to see that smile in your face, my love.
₊˚ෆ Two month went by, and guess who's pregnant?
Tumblr media
I love Rindou sm 😭💗
I hc that he would be very direct like he wouldn't have any drop of shame in his body.
omg it's currently 0:28 and I didn't make my masterlist yet 😩

"I finished." You celebrated by throwing your arms up and your head back, you could already feel the end of the semester at the tips of your fingers, you just had to hand in a few assignments, pass a test and you would be completely free for 3 months. The best moment of your life is coming, the holidays.
"I'm going now." You turned to Hazel's voice coming out of the hallway, she was dressed in brown jeans and a green flannel, the gray shoes were the same color as the backpack that hung from one shoulder. She stopped behind you, resting her hands on your shoulders and leaning down to look at the computer screen. "Now that you're done, are you sure you don't want to go?"
"I need to turn my brain off with a low-budget movie with lousy audio, but thanks."
"Good luck finding one worse than the one we saw yesterday." She told you as she messed up your hair.
From what you understood, Josie had received a new video game so she wanted to have a sleepover to try it out, she invited all the girls to spend the night together but this week had consumed you so you had to decline, you knew that Annie would bring her brownies and not being able to try them broke your heart, luckily Hazel knew you well enough that she promised to bring you some, you didn't know what would happen to you without her.
Getting up from the chair you followed Hazel to the door to say goodbye, this had become a routine that you had developed in the 4 years you lived together, every time one went out the other would leave her at the door, they had been doing it for so long that you no longer remembered who had started it.
"Tell them I said hello." You said, leaning on the nearby wall with your arms crossed watching the blue-eyed girl put on her shoes.
"Okay, I'll remind them not to call you so they don't bother you."
"Also remind PJ not to drink so much, I won't be there to clean up the vomit."
"I know." Putting on a red baseball cap in front of the mirror you had in the hallway, she sighed with false sadness. "We will miss you very much."
"Asshole."
Listening to her laugh you were grateful for having crossed paths with her in your life, she was one of the kindest, sweetest, most attentive people you had ever met. You met about 6 years ago when you moved in the middle of your high school years, you connected almost immediately that when you managed to get into college moving in together was more than decided. Everything had been perfect until now, or at least it was until you developed a crush on her earlier this year. It had started when she excitedly told you how she had started talking to a new girl, in the past when she did it you were genuinely happy for her, after all she deserved the best and more, but at that moment you felt like you had been punched in the stomach and spit in your face, the jealousy didn't last that long since that relationship lasted about 3 months, but afterwards you still felt guilty for feeling that way with your best friend.
"Take." You handed her the keys to your car, it was a fairly old one but it kept running, which was the important thing.
"Are you sure? I can order an Uber."
"Take it, it's much safer this way."
"Thank you." She said taking the keys and putting them in her pocket.
She began to approach so you began to stretch your arms waiting to receive the usual hug, when suddenly Hazel's left hand traveled up to your cheek and her lips collided with yours. Although you had looked at her lips an embarrassing number of times you could never imagine how soft they would be, it was just a small pressure but you could still feel something exploding in your chest and your pulse was beating so fast that you could hear it in your ears. You stretched out your right arm catching her waist but as soon as it started it ended and she pulled away from you.
"Tomorrow I'll arrive early so we can have breakfast together." And with one last toss of your hair she walked out the door.
What the fuck just happened?
Hearing the commotion from outside Hazel entered the house without knocking, at this point those formalities were not necessary with the trust they already had. Humming a song, she entered the kitchen to leave some snacks and drinks that she had bought for the night. After having almost everything organized, she called Josie to help her carry everything to the room.
"Hello Haze, what's up?"
"Glasses please." She ordered as she opened a Coke. "And nothing very interesting, did they all arrive?"
"Sep, you're the last to arrive. How is Judas?" She asked, leaving the glasses on the table and eating some potatoes that were on a plate.
Mr G had once called you that after he caught you cheating on a test, they never let you forget it.
"Well, she just finished some work so she was going to rest."
"More food for us then."
"By the way, is there alcohol? She asked me to take care of—."
But before she could finish saying anything, an image came into her head. Your mouth, her mouth, together. Holy shit. Dropping the glass of drink she put both hands on her head as she cursed. No. No. No. It couldn't be, she couldn't have done what she was remembering that she had done, that she had done to you.
"Hazel what the fuck? What happened, are you okay?"
It had to be some trick of her mind, it just couldn't be real, but it was, what the fuck had she done?
"Hey, what's wrong? Are you having a heart attack?"
"What happened, why so much noise?" She could hear someone's voice in the background but she couldn't identify who.
"I think she's having a stroke."
"What?!"
Trying to control her breathing, she turned to see the two girls who were in the kitchen with her.
"I kissed her." She whispered, unable to say it out loud.
"What?"
"I kissed her." She managed to articulate more clearly.
"What? Who?" Making eye contact with Annie she didn't need to say anything else, they had understood.
"Holy shit." Josie said with wide eyes.
"Was it with tongue?" Sylvie asked as she had just entered the kitchen.
"I kissed her." She repeated to herself without being able to believe it.
Leaving the video game more than forgotten, everyone settled into Josie's room as best they could.
"Why the fuck do you kiss her if you're going to regret it later? What a pussy." PJ judged Hazel sitting upside down in a chair.
"I didn't realize what I was doing, don't judge me."
"We don't judge you, we make fun of you." Sylvie clarified.
"But seriously, how do you kiss someone by accident? Aren't you hiding something from us?"
Although Annie's question was not intended to upset or offend, Hazel couldn't help but feel a hint of discomfort upon hearing it. Sure, you were her best friend and she loved you very much but it's not like she had those kinds of feelings towards you, right?
"I don't, I don't know what you mean."
"Looks like." PJ stung with intention.
Well, maybe she thought about you more than she should or looked at you for long periods of time when you didn't realize it, thinking how beautiful you were, but you were best friends, that's what they do, they care about each other and think they are the most beautiful people they have ever seen. What they probably didn't do was kiss each other and not feel a bit of remorse, because yes, Hazel didn't regret having kissed you, in fact, she had enjoyed it and suddenly found herself wanting to leave everything here and go home to finish what she had started.
"Oh my god, you want to fuck her so bad." PJ exclaimed when she saw the blush appear on the blue-eyed girl's face.
"Don't talk about her like that." It was the only thing she could say before remaining silent again with her head racing.
Okay, she could admit to feeling a small attraction towards you, something insignificant, or was it something more than that?
Suddenly a conversation came to her mind, one that she had with her ex-girlfriend before breaking up a few months ago, one where she complained that Hazel spent too much time talking about you and that she should choose between her or you. Swallowing hard, she remembered how she chose you in a heartbeat, without any regrets afterwards, because maybe, and only maybe, it was always you.
"I'm so screwed." She admitted with his face in her hands.
"Think positive, I had started to think that you were the problem with all your relationships ending, and that was the case, so."
"How is that positive?"
"That I was right."
She silently thanked Brittany for hitting PJ on the head.
Exhaling she turned to Isabel. "So, what do I do now?"
"Amm, I can help too, you know." Josie said hurt.
"Shut up, no, you can't, in your first kiss with Isa you almost fainted." Sylvie reminded her.
"Did you tell them?" She asked, very offended.
"Not now, baby."
"Okay."
"Look, Hazel, we can give you a thousand tips but the only way to clarify everything is to talk to her."
"I don't know, I don't even know if she likes me." She suddenly remembered something that made her want to dig a hole in the ground and never get out of it. "Holy fuck! I kissed her without even asking her, I'm a disgusting person."
"Oh please, if she hadn't been dying for you to do it." Annie told her, looking at her as if she were stupid.
"What?"
"It's true, she was dying those months you were dating that girl at the beginning of the year." Brittany said after a silence. "It was too obvious, actually."
"No, that was for something else, she told me. Why would she lie to me?"
"Why are you so worried about the kiss you just gave her?"
Confused by Isabel's sudden question, She decided to just answer it. "Because I don't want to screw up our friendship obviously." The raised eyebrows of everyone in the room made her understand. "Ah."
"Yes, ah, so now get up and go eat her mouth, you both deserve it." In the middle of her realization, PJ had walked towards her to pull her by one arm out of the room to leave her outside the house and close the door in her face.
Without really understanding what was happening, she got into the car and began driving towards her house with the screams of her friends behind her.
"Yes, queen!"
"Go get some pussy!"
"Good luck."
"Don't be like Josie!"
"I was very brave when I kissed Isabel!"
Standing outside the apartment she couldn't have the strength to enter. Would you be sleeping or watching TV? Maybe you locked yourself in your room so you wouldn't see her, maybe you hated her. Pushing those thoughts out of her head, Hazel inserted the key into the lock and with a sigh she opened the door and entered the apartment.
Her first impression of the place is that it was exactly the same, your computer was still on the table next to an empty glass, both the hallway light and the kitchen light were on, the only thing different was the sound coming from the living room and the darkest sky. She took off her shoes, taking more time than necessary, to finally stand up and give herself a mental cheer, at the end of the day you had been the one who was kissed out of nowhere and you needed answers.
The first thing she saw was the movie you had put on, on the screen was a very 2000s looking movie that she didn't recognize, going a little further into the room she could finally see you, you were looking at the screen but it was very clear that your mind was somewhere else.
"I thought you were arriving tomorrow."
Hazel jumped a little in her place, she didn't expect you to have heard her coming.
She shifted in her position and with a hand on her neck she tried to find her voice. "I came earlier" How smart.
"Why?"
"Um, I have to talk to you, because of what... I did, because of what I did to you."
"What did you do to me?" This time you turned to see her. Hazel scared and worried eyes looked bright from the reflection of the TV, you could see how she couldn't sit still and her messy hair confirmed that she had passed her hands through it many times, a sign that she was anxious.
"Are you angry?"
"I'm confused." You responded.
Hazel nodded her head and moved a little closer to you but without sitting down.
"To be honest, I don't have a clear explanation for why I did what I did, I'm sorry if it inconveniences you and if you want me to leave I will do so immediately."
"You regret it." It wasn't a question, from the blue-eyed girl's reaction you were sure that she considered the kiss a mistake, but her response made you swallow your thoughts.
"Unless it made you uncomfortable, I would never regret it."
A little shaky, you slowly got up from the couch without breaking eye contact, you were tired of so many crossroads and unanswered questions.
"I liked you Hazel, I liked you so much that it hurts, and, and I didn't know what to do or say because-because losing you would be the worst thing that could happen to me, but, but then you kissed me and I went crazy and I realized that I don't like you. I love you Hazel. I can't live a life without telling you how I feel, 'cause some part of me hopes that you feel the same way."
Your hands itched to grab something to distract yourself but you refused to move, you wanted your words to reach her with nothing but pure sincerity.
"You love me? Me?" Hazel's voice came out shaky and her eyes grew brighter with tears.
Shit, had you been too direct? There was no longer an opportunity to retract it and you didn't want to, if this was the end you were going to repeat it as many times as necessary. "Yes Hazel, I love you."
In less than three seconds Hazel was all over you, the impact of the body almost threw you back but her arms around you stabilized you, her face was buried in your neck and one of her legs was between yours. Although it was a fairly tight and suffocating hug, you never felt lighter and calmer.
"I love you too, you have no idea how much I love you." She said making her breathing tickle you. So you laughed as you wrapped her in your arms too, your chin ended up on her head where you placed a kiss and heard several I love yous coming out of Hazel's mouth.
You hugged each other for what seemed like an eternity, both of you holding onto each other not wanting to let the other go. After another while Hazel raised her head and one of her hands went to your cheek, where she caressed your cheekbone with her thumb.
"I love you." She said again with a smile full of emotions. Love, calm but excitement, happiness.
"I love you." You repeated to her, feeling the same way.
A shaky sigh escaped her lips directing your attention to them, you had kissed those same lips a few hours ago.
"Can I kiss you?" You asked with as much self-control as you could muster.
She didn't even respond to you when her mouth collapsed on yours, the hallway kiss had been just a small bump, two lips together just sharing an innocent moment, but this kiss was the opposite. Her mouth moved desperately over yours, while one of her hands went to your neck where she began to play with your hair, the other remained firm on your hip, keeping you glued to her. Tasting your lower lip you opened your mouth allowing her entry to explore, your hands went under her shirt, you were grateful that it was a loose fabric as it gave you more freedom to touch everything you could. With a shudder she pushed you towards the couch where, changing position, she sat down and you fell on top of her. Her wet tongue began to run along your neck, her hands went to your hair, pulling your head back so she could explore everything about you, your hands went in the direction of her bra that you unclasped almost expertly. Her mouth returned to yours where she began to leave wetter but slower kisses, her two hands went to your lower back, pressing you closer to her, after a few seconds the kiss began to become a little calmer to end with her placing small kisses all over your face, laughing breathlessly you rested your head on her neck.
"Are we something now?" You asked stupidly, it was obvious that oxygen still wasn't reaching your brain.
"Shit I hope so because I need to kiss you like that again."
With a sigh of relief you moved away from her neck so you could look into her eyes.
"Hazel, I love you."
"And that's why I'm the luckiest girl in the world." Savoring the moment, and her lips, you decided this was the best moment of your life, screw the holidays.

main 4 boys hcs: seeing you come back after you moved away
note: this set of hcs is really similar to a kyle fic i have in my drafts already 😭 but im glad you guys are enjoying my writing :)
STAN ☆
when he heard there was a "new girl" in school he didn't think much of it, and you weren't in his first class so it didn't really bother him.
he didn't even recognise you when the teacher called your name for the register in his second period class. was it really you?
"Y/N?" He whispered out of shock.
"Hi, Stan." You had whispered back with a smile, making a familiar sense of nausea come back to him.
the two of you spent the whole of class chatting; catching up.
^ that landed stan into detention, but he didn't care. you only didn't get detention because the teacher didn't want to scare you off on your first day.
stan didn't care though, it was totally worth it when he got your number and socials.
he couldn't resist texting you while he was in detention. your presence through the phone was enough to keep him going, and the endless conversation made the hours go by quickly.
after you got closer, he invited you to a soccer (football) game that he was playing in this weekend. of course he spent most of the game showing off when he spotted you in the crowd, and he worked hard to make sure his team won.
when he scored a goal, adrenaline was coursing through his veins. without thinking he ran up to where you stood in the stands and kissed you on the cheek, to then run back and continue playing.
that was only the beginning of the romance.
KYLE ☆
he went to school that morning, he was confused as to why people were talking about you.
i mean, you moved away from south park years ago. did people really miss you that much? he couldn't blame them, he probably missed you the most out of anyone.
it wasn't until lunch when jimmy went up to kyle.
"Your little girlfriend is back. Aren't you gonna talk to her?"
"Huh?"
"Dude, Y/N?" Jimmy was surprised at Kyle's confusion. "You don't know?"
"Know what?" Kyle was starting to worry people were playing a cruel joke on him.
"Oh my god, Y/N is b-back." Jimmy began, "I thought you would be the first to know?"
"No?" Kyle looked at his friends in disbelief. "Where is she right now?"
"She's outside talking to-"
poor jimmy couldn't even finish his sentence before kyle sprinted outside to see you. he really hoped it wasn't a joke, otherwise he'd never recover from being made to look like such an idiot.
he ran outside to find you just saying goodbye to butters, and he couldn't believe his eyes. he was so happy to see you he almost cried.
he called your name and you looked over at the familiar voice. you were so relieved to see none other than kyle broflovski himself.
"we should probably leave them two lovebirds alone for a little while."
KENNY ☆
kenny heard that a family had moved into the house you used to live in, and he was pissed off to say the least.
he treated your old house like a sacred ground as nobody had lived there since you had moved out.
he sometimes snuck into the back garden when he needed to get away from everything, or when he really missed you. he made sure any plants you had grown yourself were still alive, in the seemingly unlikely event you did return.
what he didn't know is that your family owned this house and didn't let anybody move in because you all knew you'd return to south park at some point.
he marched over to that house to see exactly who it was, but he noticed that there wasn't even a moving van, just two brand new cars.
To say the least, he was fuming. He was ready to raise hell on these people. Even if it wasn't actually called for, and he was just upset his memories of you would be ruined by them.
He didn't even hear commotion inside, telling him that this new family had already settled in. How dare they!?
The door opened and he was ready. He looked up at the mystery person only to see... your mom?
"Oh, Kenny! It's so good to see you." She smiled down at him. His burning anger turned into complete confusion. "Y/N! Your old friend is here to see you already!"
he could feel his heart racing again, but this time out of anticipation.
when he saw you, he felt that sense of peace you always gave him and he immediately felt his cheeks get hot when you pulled him into a welcoming hug.
after all that time, when he would spend hours just sitting in the garden he now knew it was worth it.
and after all those hours of catching up, you walked him all the way home and even up to the doorstep.
you said you were glad to see him again, before you kissed him on the cheek and made your way back home.
"WOOHOO!!"
ERIC ☆
i imagine he'd be like kyle where he wouldn't realise until somebody said to him you were back. only difference is he would attempt to act as if he didn't care.
you were in all of his classes when kyle asked if he had seen you yet.
of course this confused eric and claimed kyle was just being stupid again when he said you were back.
"Shut up, Kyle! You're just trying to make me look stupid in front of everyone." Eric shouted.
"I swear she's here, ask literally anyone in our grade and they'll say she is back!"
It was constant back and forth, until Eric heard somebody say his name.
To which he screamed, "what!?"
you couldn't tell at the time, but he felt bad for screaming in your face like that.
he remembers having a massive crush on you, but he got angry that you left without telling him.
when he stared straight into your eyes, he couldn't stay angry for long.
you gave him your new number so you could catch up when you had more time, and he simply watched as you walked away.
"I told you so, fatass!"

i finished season 6!! i have...many thoughts. arguably too many. and please be aware that unlike my last screaming session, there's a fair bit of discussion here that isn't wholly positive! if negativity/criticism of this show is going to bum you out (genuinely no judgement if so), please don't click this readmore!
organised into a numbered list to pretend i'm capable of coherency. okay.
i am extremely biased and you shouldn't listen to me probably
there is a sense in which this show cannot win with me once it starts changing the status quo beyond approx the cultural festival, because i'm in the weird position of having spent literal years living mentally in this space that's like vaguely post-kamino to just post-overhaul. that's my comfy cozy little status quo zone and i like it there a lot. so when this show necessarily, very legimately wants to move its plot and characters forward from that point, there is always a part of me that feels a little like someone just ripped a big wall off my favourite playhouse - it's a legitimate story development but also hey :/
that said! when i was looking ahead at the stuff i knew happened from the point after i stopped watching, i kind of thought "huh, it sure does seem to escalate pretty intensely and become Just All War after a certain point." and i kind of thought that perception might be a function of my knowledge being all from spoilers, bc naturally that will focus on big plot developments and leave out quieter in-between moments. but uh... nope! again i cannot be trusted with perceptions about pace but...my feeling when watching is very much that at a certain point horikoshi decided he was barreling this thing right to the finish line
and that's fair! a lot of what's going on here with this status quo shake-up is like the objectively competent storytelling move where you don't give the audience time to slow down so they're feeling the same sense of overwhelm and fear that the characters are. basically it's me not them but boy would i have liked...space. for characters to slow down and react and feel things.
2. midnight was fucking robbed
she was robbed!!! why even kill her if you aren't gonna give it...weight. i know she's a minor character but best jeanist is a minor character and i feel like his fakeout death was borderline given more screentime and gravity than midnight's real actual death. and i know this show isn't about aizawa but fuck!! she had a big big place in the young aizawa arc, she mattered! to mic and aizawa! they were friends for 15 years! and they just don't really...do anything with it. i feel like if they'd killed mic off there'd have been...something. something that wasn't here. and she's not that much more minor a character than mic
3. the dabi reveal ruled
we all knew but christ. dance with your son in hell! the wilder and more bloodthirsty he gets the more i'm here for it. go for it you funky little maniac. love that he was animated like a weird little marionette while talking about shouto being a puppet. it's genuinely impressive that even with 0% surprise factor this still hit so good. i'm rotating him in my head like a microwave
and i say often that this show is better at creating problems than solving them for me but it sure is good at creating problems like. that fucking house. the pressure cooker of misery. tiny little touya soaking it all in. harrowing
4. the thing where dabi is a foil for shouto does not hit for me
i know i just said a bunch of good things about the dabi stuff but. okay.
i was conceptually never here for the concept of endeavour redemption arc and i will say! i was at times pleasantly surprised. the ep that basically concludes that the best thing he can do for his family is to stay the fuck away from them had more maturity than i expected. and again i genuinely enjoy the drama! it's very good drama!
but there is just. something about the thing where dabi is specifically there to be like. this is what shouto needs to try not to turn into with his anger towards his father, this is the path that could lead him down that just... for me it rings too much like vilifying the anger of an abused child. after they went so hard and so explicit on the domestic abuse angle.
i'm not saying you can't tell good interesting and valuable stories about anger after abuse, and even about how it's easy to become consumed by hatred when you've been wronged and let that take away your future. probably this story is that for some people. it isn't for me.
5. i love mirio but the missed potential of his temporary quirklessness fucking haunts me
idk if i can even say more about this like. i love him. i was happy to see him again. i long ago accepted that this show will never dig into quirklessness in a way that would satisfy me (and yes i know about Future Events and will be pleasantly surprised if that proves me wrong). but i truly cannot get over the missed potential of doing nothingggggg with this character who explicitly had a power that only let him be an incredible hero because of WORK. and effort. and training. and then having him lose the power but not the work and effort and training, and then shoving him gently out of the narrative until he just gets the power back one day. when your protagonist grew up quirkless!!! the opportunity for reflection on that is so obvious!!
okay apparently i could say more about that. sorry. read pez dispenser debris
6. hawks man
i already yelled (positively) about the twice stuff last time but it's worth yelling again because fuck!! again it's wild to me that after actively encouraging and seeking out spoilers, i still managed not to know this. and it fucking hit. toga's line where she goes "if [heroes'] purpose is to save people, did they not think jin was a person?" hit so fucking hard i had to pause the episode and put my hand over my mouth and stare at the ceiling for a while. it's...genuinely damning
and i think they did a really incredible job building hawks' character to the point where he does this. like. it's one of those perfect tragedy things where you can see all the pieces spinning into place. make someone into a weapon and they're gonna draw blood.
and then as always. i just vibe way more with the creation of those problems than their solutions. i'm sure they will do at least a little more with hawks but. idk. i feel like horikoshi is so good at breaking stuff and then he kind of hastily glues it back together and i'm like wait please. the wreckage was so fascinating. fixing it would be so long and hard and also fascinating. this is what fanfiction is for probably
7. lady nagant!!
i knew nothing about her going in and i liked her a lot. the music worked so well, there's this one specific kind of circussy little riff that i liked almost as much as AFO's theme, my other fave piece of music from this show
and again it's like...genuinely damning! holy fuck! and i'm trying to just enjoy the parts where they launch extremely cutting criticisms of hero society without remembering that my vague amalgamation of spoiler knowledge suggests we will not be....doing a whole lot with that
8. iconic yellow scarf era of sadness! at last!
in some ways i am the ideal audience for this narrative and in other ways i am again hopelessly biased. bc i have been craving content that addresses the fact that my boy is like this for so long, but also it's so My Favourite Subject that i have seen done well so many times that i'm like...would anything ever really be enough for me, an addressing midoriya's self destruction guy for literally 5 years now
in my head i expected this arc to be izuku going fully rogue so i was surprised when this was like...a semi-sanctioned thing, at least at first. but makes sense so you can then build to him being basically totally rogue. and oof the build. i really liked the visuals! let my son be fucked up and scary and haunted
and god when he admits he can't go back because he is so scared. i feel like the mall scene hit way harder for me this rewatch because there are so many horrible aspects to it, but particularly the thing of looking at these people all around you and knowing if you cry out too loud they will all get hurt. and it will be your fault, if you can't bear it quietly enough. and you are fifteen fucking years old. so the moment at jaku when izuku looks around at all the evacuating civilians and you can see him realising that him being anywhere near them could doom them. because they're near you, and this person with impossibly destructive power wants You. you're next...that inversion. that pressure. i love him forever and ever...
9. i knew aizawa would not be in this arc but i felt his absence so keenly
like i know i know. he's a minor character. he was busy not having a leg anymore. but i would have killed a man for anyyyy kind of OFA reveal reaction/one of his kids running around the city with a target on his back from the world-ending villains reaction. please. please. i knew i wouldn't get it but i still wanted it very bad

20 Questions for the Writers Tag Game!
I was tagged by @caeli0306
Tumblr media
1. Total number of AO3 works
Nine!
2. Total AO3 word count 985,672! We're about to crack the mil, baby! And in just over a year, too 🥺💗
3. Fandoms I've written for
So many! But if we keep it to works currently posted: ACOTAR & The Empyrean series.
4. Top 5 fics by kudos
Truth & TalonFear & FlameMacchiatoFurykeep quiet (nothing comes as easy as you)
5. Do I respond to comments?
Yes, always! I love receiving them, so replying is the least I can do 💗
6. What has the angstiest ending?
...Truth & Talon, actually...
Tumblr media
No, I'm just kidding....mostly... 👁👄👁 I'm saying Dangerous Devotion. 7. What has the happiest ending?
Fury, I think.
8. Have I received hate?
Not recently/in the Empyrean fandom (unless you count people telling me they're disappointed with my choices, lol, shoutout to that one girl who was sad Remi wasn't a virgin!) but I have before for sure.
9. Do I write smut? And what kind?
Sure. What kind like...kinks? Praise kink? Cockwarming? What do you mean what kind? 😭 The hot kind 💗
10. Do I write crossovers?
I have before, but I don't have any currently published.
11. Have I ever had a fic stolen?
Multiple times, lol. she's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment.
Tumblr media
Honestly though, please don't do this. It's not a nice feeling. It doesn't help you, either, or anyone else. Wouldn't you rather contribute something new to the fandom you're in? 12. Have I ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Some of my older Tolkien works were translated into Russian and I've had offers for Remi's Version, but I prefer that translations stay on AO3 (with very limited exceptions) which I suppose limits some people.
13. Have I ever co-written a fic?
I mean, most of my ideas are bounced off @justallihere and we throw dialogue/ideas back and forth so we'll give her... 12% of the credit for my next work. But no, I've never properly co-written anything. I feel like it would be weird, right? Unless you're writing a POV each?
14. What is my all time favorite ship?
Xaden Riorson/Remi Sorrengail 😌
Tumblr media
15. A WIP I'll never finish?
I really hope to finish the things I've started so far. I have a few on the go, but the brain does what it wants. Tattoo-artist Xaden is sitting right on the edge there. I have 10k words of a scribe Violet AU that I might never pick up again, so let's say that.
16. Writing strengths?
Feelings, apparently. Lots of people tell me I make them cry, lmao.
17. Writing weaknesses?
Battles, action, fight scenes. I hate them. I hate them so much I'll write in storylines that change the canon universe so I can skip them completely. Ick.
18. Do I like foreign language dialogue?
I just write, for example, 'he said in Tyrrish' after the dialogue, I like that sort of thing, I think it's indicative enough without doing all italics and strange indicators like people used to back in the day, lol.
19. First fandom I wrote for?
Lord of the Rings. Very short lived. Was told it was "the worst fic I've ever read in my life" and that was that. I was maybe thirteen at the time 😌
20. Favorite fic I've written?
I cannot and will not pick a favourite child, but I will say Fury is very close to me. It got me back into writing and it came at a time in my life where I was really struggling and finding who I wanted to be and really changing my life. Without Tessa, there wouldn't be Remi 💗
Tumblr media
I feel like everyone I know has already been tagged by someone, so I'll just open it to the floor for anyone who wants to participate 🤷‍♀️

SPRING BREAK 4 - Roman Reigns
Tumblr media
NO TIME SKIP THIS TIME LOL
REAL NAMES WILL BE USED
4½ MONTHS PREGNANT Y|N FEELS IT'S TIME TO COME CLEAN NOW THAT SHE KNOWS JOE ISN'T JUST AN AVERAGE JOE (🤣)
PART 3 (×)
I sighed looking at myself in the mirror, slowly running my hand down my now noticeable baby bump.
I was now in my second trimester of this pregnancy and just when I thought me getting knocked up by a man I'd only known a few hours before, was as bad as this train wreck would get, I was wrong.
Really wrong.
Because turns out, Joe as I'd only known him these few months is actually Joseph Anoaʻi.
Or Roman Reigns, as he goes by in WWE.
The WWE company in which my older brother Colby works for.
"Things are just getting worse and worse." I mumbled as I made my way to my closet, searching for something to wear on my outing with Austin.
And I say outing because I honestly don't know what else to call it.
I mean, it's definitely not a date for me.
I hope it's not a date to Austin...
"Do you think this is a date?" I asked, picking out a short, loose fitting dress.
My bump shouldn't show too much through this, I thought as I began stripping out of my pajamas, sliding my dress on soon after.
"Tori." I called out, trying to get my bestfriends attention, while also wondering why I couldn't see her on the screen anymore. "Tori."
"Oh, sorry." Tori finally replied a huge grin on her face. "I fell down the Roman Reigns rabbit hole." She explained. "Again."
I rolled my eyes, picking up my macbook and going to my bed to sit. "Of course you did." I mumbled.
I couldn't blame her though.
All I did last night, till at least 2 a.m. was watch old matches of my baby daddy.
Then when I finally drifted off the sleep he was on my mind so much that I ended up having a dream that still makes me blush, just thinking about it.
If only it was reality.
It was just something so sexy about him bulling his cousins and other wrestlers.
Even his old matches with my brother and their friend Jon we're awesome to watch.
Tori laughed, holding up a finger. "This is gonna be you and Joe's baby." She said, trying to hold in her laughter so she could finish what she's trying to say. "And his first word will be 'ACKNOWLEDGE ME'" She joked, laughing even louder.
I sighed, feeling my mood change in an instant. "We won't know if it's a he or she." I replied before mumbling. "And we won't know what his or her's first word would be." I reminded her. "You know I've been looking for a good family for this baby..."
Tori nodded. "Yeah, i know." She replied. "I just thought after I told you that Joe wasn't ghosting you, that you mixed up two digits in his number, that maybe..." She trailed off with a shrug. "You'd change your mind about adoption since you won't have to do it alone while trying to finish college."
"I haven't even told Joe about the baby."
"But you know I did." Tori quickly answered. "Again, not on purpose but I did tell him." She added. "What I'm trying to say, is I was excited about being an aunt. And I know you'd be a good as mommy Y|N."
A sad smile formed on my face as I once again began doubting my ability to finish my last two years of college, eventually have a career, and raise a baby.
Even if Joe was involved it'll still be damn near impossible considering he's on the road three or four nights a week, so I'm sure the last thing he wants is a baby to be responsible for.
And on top of that we're not even together.
"Can we change the subject?" I asked, unconsciously rubbing my baby bump.
Tori nodded. "So..." She said. "Why haven't you called Joe?"
I groaned. "That's not changing the subject." I quickly replied. "Besides you know I've been hanging out with Austin still."
"Yeah, but why?" Tori asked, giving me a look. "You have a mature, grown and sexy twenty-seven year old that wants you but you're wasting your time on a cheating ass, immature 20 year old. I just don't get it."
I shrugged. "Austin's changed." I said, not a hundred percent sure I believed what I had just said. "Besides, when any typical guy would've happily ran when finding out their girlfriend cheated and got knocked up, Austin didn't. He made me feel safe and promised we'd go back to normal and put this behind up after I have this baby. He's waiting for me."
"His ass cheated first." Tori mumbled, seemingly ignoring everything else I'd said. "And I noticed the word love wasn't said."
That's because I don't know if I've truly been able to love Austin since he cheated.
Or if I'd be able to any time soon.
At this rate, I'll probably love Joe before I'm able to love Austin again.
Or do I already love Joe and that's the reason I'm unable to love Austin..?
Before I could respond, the sound of the doorbell echoed throughout the house.
"Austin's here." I said, before standing up. "I gotta go." I added, closing my macbook before Tori could respond.
For a second time, the doorbell echoed, this time sounding louder as I reached the door.
"Damn, Austin." I giggled, opening the door. "I'm almost five months pregnant, give me time." I spoke again, feeling my heart stop for a second when I saw it wasn't Austin. "Joseph?"
Holy shit, I mentally screamed out to myself, as my eyes stayed locked on the man on the other side of the door.
The man who fathered this baby I'm carrying.
Face to face with him for the first time since Miami.
Did he get hotter?
"Hey." Joe said, his eyes seemingly locked on me, like mines were on him.
Or was he staring at my belly?
I shifted uncomfortable at the thought of him seeing me pregnant all of a sudden. "Colby's um..." I began, stumbling on my words. "At his wrestling school."
"I know." Joe, responded with a nod, a seriousness in his tone. "I was hoping to see you, considering you haven't called me yet."
I bit the inside of my cheek, nodding also. "I tried but I..."
"Had my number wrong." Joe finished for me, making me nod again.
"Yeah." I said, with an embarrassed laugh. "I figured you'd just got what you wanted for me and had moved on to the next girl."
A hint of hurt flashed in Joe's eyes after what I hade said. "That's the kind of guy you think I am?" He asked, causing me to immediately shake my head.
"I didn't really know what to think of you, Joe." I answered truthfully. "I had only known you for a few hours and my judgment was blinded by the many shots Tori kept persuading me to drink, then you did take me on that amazing date. But you have to understand I tried calling you a few times and obviously couldn't get in touch with you to tell you about this baby you helped make so yeah..." I rambled. "I guess deep down I couldn't believe a guy that looks like you would even entertain a girl like me. Tori yes. But me? No."
Joe chuckled. "There's no way in hell I could have feelings for Tori."
I smiled, suddenly unable to look him in the eyes. "Did you have feelings for me?"
"I do have feelings for you Y|N." He quickly responded, taking a few steps closer to me. "That's why it was driving me crazy these few months thinking that I would never hear from you again."
"You were going crazy over me?" I asked, feeling my heartbeat began to race with anticipation.
Joe, nodded silently and without control, I found myself leaning up towards Joe as he was leaning down towards me.
I let my eyes snap shut, and just as I was about to finally feel Joe's lips on mines again, for the first time in months, a car door slammed shut.
Like it really slammed shut as if someone wanted to really make their presence known.
Please don't be my brother.
Please don't be my brother.
PLEASE DON'T BE MY BROTHER.
"Babe." I heard a male voice call out to me, and I slowly opened my eyes to see Austin leaning against his car, a scowl on his face.
I'm assuming from seeing me almost kiss Joe.
Why is it any time Joe's in my presence I forget about Austin?
"Babe..?" Joe asked, his eyes flashing with an emotion I've never seen from him the few times we have been around each other.
Is that jealousy?
Ignoring Joe, I quickly made my way over to Austin flashing a smile at him, as he continued to stare at Joe as if he was mentally sizing him up.
"Shit." I mumbled, stomping my foot. "I forgot my purse." I added. "Be right back."
Quickly, I walked back to the house, making sure to grab on to Joe's arm as I made my way inside. "Look." I said. "I have to go, but if my brother comes home before I do just lie and say you came over for him and I let you in or something."
"Y|N." Joe said, an edge to his tone, and the jealousy still in his eyes. "Who is he?"
I sighed, as I went over to the couch to get my purse. "My boyfriend..." I mumbled, scared to look at Joe for the first time since I opened the door and saw him there. "I think."
"Boyfriend?" Joe questioned as if he couldn't believe what I had said. "How do you have a boyfriend when you're pregnant with my baby?"
"Because me and him have been together for years." I explained. "It's just been a bit complicated with him cheating on me and then me trying to get back at him with you." I added, mentally slapping myself after that last part left my mouth.
How could I say that when I know that's not how it was?
Austin's never on my mind when I'm with Joseph.
Joe let out a sarcastic laugh. "So, that night we were together was just some kind of revenge fuck so you'd have a way to make that dude jealous?"
Was he pissed?
He sounds pissed.
"No." I sighed, my eyes going from Joe to the door and back. "I really do have to go."
"We really need to talk Y|N." Joe replied, but I was already out the door.
Me and him could talk later.
"Okay." I said, as I reached Austin's car again. "We could go now."
Austin nodded silently, his attention still on the door, or rather who's on the other side of the door.
Even though he couldn't see Joe, it seemed that it pained Austin just by knowing he was in there.
"Austin." I called out trying to bring his attention back to me. "Something wrong?"
"No." Austin replied, his signature smile forming as he opened the passenger side door for me, closing it as soon as I got in.
As Austin made his way over to the drivers side of his car, I leaned over towards the back to drop my purse in the backseat when something caught my eye.
"That asshole."
I can't fucking believe him.
Or maybe I should considering this isn't the first time.
Austin finally got into his car, pushing the button to start the engine. "What are you craving today?" He asked, with a chuckle. "Tacos? Pizza? Both?"
"I suddenly don't have an appetite." I mumbled, my arms crossed over my chest.
"C'mon, babe." Austin said, glancing over at me. "You're pregnant." He added, chuckling again. "There's no way in hell you don't have a appetite."
I rolled my eyes. "Well, I don't."
"Okay." Austin replied, rolling his eyes also as he again pushed the button, this time turning his car engine off. "Are you hormones acting up?"
Instead of answering Austin, I decided to throw a question of my own at him. "What's these doing in your car?"
"What?"
I held up the two used condom wrappers that I had found in the backseat of his car. "Where you with that slut again? Or someone else?"
"Y|N, your tripping." Austin mumbled, shaking his head. "Those are from the last time me and you had sex." He added. "You know, when you still believed in protection."
I gasped.
How dare he?
"I didn't get pregnant because I didn't make the father use a condom." I angrily replied. "And I know you're fucking lying because the last time you and I had sex was over five months ago and I also know these wrappers weren't in your goddamn car last week." I scoffed, trying to fight back the tears that were forming in my eyes. "Was it her or someone new?"
"It was her." Austin finally answered making me laugh in disbelief.
"I can't fucking believe you would do this again after you said you wouldn't over and fucking over." I replied.
Austin scoffed. "You can't believe me?" He asked, sarcasm in his voice. "I can't believe you'd practically be making out with your baby daddy minutes before I'm supposed to pick you up but you did." He said, before adding. "Just like you let him fuck you without one, even though you ain't even know him a day. But makes sure your boyfriend of six years wore one every damn time we fucked."
In that moment I wanted nothing more than to reach over and slap Austin so hard that I left a hand print in his face, but I held myself back.
Barely.
"For the tenth time I didn't have sex with him without a condom." I groaned, reaching over in the backseat to grab my purse. "His dick is just so big that it broke the condom." I smirked, opening the passenger side door, and getting out of the car. "Something you wouldn't know about."
I didn't say it but I'm sure it was implied that me and Austin were over.
For good this time.
With tears in my eyes I stormed back up to the house, just as Joe was leaving out.
"What's wrong?" Joe questioned, immediately noticing that I was upset.
I wiped at the tears that had fallen from my eyes. "I just ended my six year relationship."
"Because of me?"
"No." I snapped, taking out the last bit of my anger for Austin on Joseph. "Not everything is about you." I added, before mumbling. "And I thought the only time you were a condescending asshole was on tv but it seems like you're one in real life too."
Joe shook his head, leaving out the house without another word or glance.
Did I just ruin what could have been between Joseph and I?
Later that day I eventually dragged myself out of bed, and downstairs for a middle of the night snack.
Partly because I had a sudden craving for cookies, and partly because I just couldn't get Joe out of my mind.
Especially how he looked when I called him a condescending asshole.
Which he most definitely isn't.
I know I haven't known him long enough to judge all of his qualities, but the few times I've been lucky enough to be in his presence, he's been nothing but a sweetheart.
A gentleman.
"Couldn't sleep either?" I heard a voice say, causing me to jump.
I placed my hand over my heart, trying to calm myself. "You scared me, dude." I said to Colby as I gently shut the refrigerator door, turning to see Colby sitting at the kitchen island. "And no." I answered. "Too much on my mind." I added, rambling in the cabinet for a baking sheet.
"Are you really about to bake cookies at one in the morning?" Colby asked with a laugh, as I began scooping cookie dough from the container and placing it onto the baking sheet.
"Yeah, I got a craving for cookies." I giggled, with a shrug. "Can you be an awesome big brother and preheat the oven for me?" I asked, as I continued scooping.
"Sure."
About ten minutes later, both my brother and I sat at the kitchen island eating cookies.
Well I was eating cookies, and Colby was eating the only cookie I shared with him.
"You never did say what was on your mind." Colby spoke up, breaking through the silence that had taken over.
"Neither did you." I replied, picking up a cookie and taking a bite.
Colby nodded, getting up and going to the refrigerator to get a bottle of water. "You first."
"Okay." I mumbled, biting on my lip. "I broke up with Austin's pathetic ass." I started, noticing the look on Colby's face as if he expected this break up to be like the others where I'd take him back after a while. "For real this time."
"What made it for real this time?" Colby questioned and I couldn't figure out if he was mocking me or genuinely just asking.
I sighed, looking down at the few cookies left in front of me. "He cheated again." I said with a shrug. "Very recently."
"I'm going to beat his ass." Colby immediately responded, in his usual overprotective big brother fashion. "My knee's healed enough for me to curb stomp his head into the pavement."
"Colby." I gasped, trying not to laugh. "You don't have to do anything. I already gave him a piece of my mind and also I'm a thousand and one percent sure you could do prison time for that."
"I do it all the damn time." Colby smirked.
"On tv, idiot." I said, unable to hold my laughter in any longer. "If you were to do that to Austin you'd be in trouble for sure."
Colby shrugged. "It'll be worth it." He said, proudly, before coming back over to sit next to me on the stool he previously sat on. "Is the next reason you can't sleep because of your baby's father?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
I sat silently for a moment, biting my lip as I contemplated if I should reveal the father of this child's identity.
I didn't want to continue hiding it from my brother.
And I definitely didn't want him finding out from someone other than me.
"Big brother." I mumbled, glancing over at him. Promise that you won't hate me after I tell you who he is."
"Hate you?" Colby asked, raising an eyebrow at me. "I could never hate you, Y|N." He added, giving me a reassuring smile. "You're my little sister."
"Okay." I said, biting down on my lip even harder this time. "Promise me you won't hate the father."
I had a big feeling that my brother and Joe's friendship or brotherhood wouldn't be the same as it was but I didn't want my brother hating Joe.
Colby sighed. "Just say it."
"His name is Joe." I whispered, closing my eyes tightly because I was afraid to make eye contact with my brother.
"I know." Colby replied.
I squeezed my eyes shut even tighter, remembering I had already told Colby the father's name. "No." I said. "His name is Joe Anoaʻi." I whispered again, feeling tears began to roll down my face for the second time in less than twenty four hours. "As in your bestfriend, Joe."
Once again Colby sighed, repeating himself as he reached over to rub soothing circles in my back. "I know."
As tears continued to run down my face, I carefully turned on my stool to face my brother.
His face oddly calm for someone who's little sister told just told them they had a one night stand with their bestfriend literally a minute ago.
"Who told you?" I gasped. "Was it Tori and her big mouth?" I asked again, with a groan.
I love her but once she gets going there's no telling what she'd spill.
Colby shook his head. "It was Joe."
Joe told my brother about us?
And didn't tell me, he told my brother.
"And as much as I don't like it..." Colby spoke again, with a sigh. "He's a step up from Austin."
I scrunched up my nose at my older brother, really not understanding why he's so calm. "Colby," I said in a calming tone. "Did you take something?"
"Fuck no." Colby laughed, shaking his head. "I'm just okay with it, I guess." He added, before speaking again. "Joe was man enough to come to me and explain earlier today at Black and Brave and..." He shrugged again. "It's not like he purposefully went after my little sister. He didn't know anything about me and you being family before yesterday. Besides you'vegot enough to worry about with this pregnancy. You didn't need a pissed off brotherto add on to your stress."
Okay who is this man next to me?
It's not like I wanted Colby to be so worked up over my situation with Joe, but still...
I didn't expect him to be so calm
And most importantly, why didn't Joe tell me he talked to my brother when he was here earlier.
"But when me and him step back into the ring against one another." Colby said, speaking again, before I could. "I'm beating his ass for what he did with my little sister."
I smiled a bit, before letting out a sigh. "Thank you so much for being oddly understanding." I replied, sliding off my stool, to go over and give my brother a kiss on his cheek. "You're the best brother I've got."
"I'm the only brother you've got." Colby quickly responded, laughing yet again.
LAST ONE... THIS WEEK 😅

“1!”
“2!”
“3!”
“4–”
Two people call the number out simultaneously, audible groans leaving multiple girls as they have to start over. Water ripples around you, hands in a steady grip around your oar as you watch your campers row their way across the lake in front of you. Your eyes flit to Omega leading the group with a bright, excitable stare, dirty blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, a cap shielding her face from the glaring sun.
“It’s alright, everyone!” She beams, careening back and forth as she rows. “We can start over!”
With a smile, you nod and add,
“As long as we don’t fall too behind.” You gesture ahead of you, toward the obscured view of a cluster of canoes no doubt belonging to the Cedar cabin. At the mere mention of them, the girls groan and row faster; they don't wish to face the scrutiny they’d be subjugated to by those immature, adolescent boys.
Not that they weren’t all too dissimilar.
You could swear no matter how many times you’ll force them to clean up and clear the floors of the Maple Cabin, it’ll once again become a disheveled heap of clothes and personal belongings by the time it’s lights out. Omega began to help you lead, reminding them as they leave the bathroom not to leave all their possessions on the counter and shower rack and to toss their clothes in the laundry pile.
She’s helpful, no doubt. You’ll have to ask Tech to promote her to CIT next year.
They start the game again.
“1!”
“...2!”
“3!”
“4!”
There’s a pause.
“5.”
“6!”
“7–”
“Oh, come on! ” Betty whines. You can’t help but giggle silently and look down so no one sees your smile.
It’s not long before you near the Cedar Cabin and hear their attempt at the game still going on. In the corner of your eye, Hannah gawks while Omega scrunches her nose.
“22!”
“23!”
“24!”
“25!”
“26–”
This time, when two people call out the same number simultaneously, just as Maple had done before, they only groan playfully and say confident affirmations of ‘we’ll get it next time,’ flashing a mischievous glint toward the girls. Omega tries to hide the grit of her teeth. You can tell she’s not pleased, however.
But there’s no time to focus on that when you hear that husky voice.
"Having trouble?”
You look to your right, then immediately look away with instinct, hiding your widening eyes.
He’s wearing a tank top.
Hunter is a new counselor this year. Alongside all of his brothers and sister, Omega, he’s already become a new favorite. Every night by the campfire once he’s finished leading the camp in songs, Cedar and Sycamore Cabin crowd around him, asking him to teach them guitar or how to carve wood as good as he does, where he gets his cool maroon-colored bandanas and the story behind his striking skeleton tattoo on one side of his body. Even the girls have begun fawning over him; Cilla and Betty frequently ask Omega questions about her older brother, not-so-discreetly calculating the age difference between them. The older girls in the Pine cabin don’t shy away from blatant flirting, always asking him for help to apply sunscreen before a day of swimming, twirling their hair as he tells them not to get in too much trouble.
He’s agreeable, he’s handsome, he’s incredibly good with kids; it seems as though the entire camp can’t help but swarm.
You, however? You can’t even look him in the eye.
If you did, you're pretty sure you would dissolve into a buzzing mess.
“Yeah, they haven’t made it past ten yet,” You tell him, readjusting your cap a little lower to bedim your face further. It’s not the sun that’s making your cheeks so hot.
“Hm.” It’s just a hum that comes out of his voice, rumbling his chest. You take another slow breath and begin rowing again. You call out to your girls, telling them to move forward now that you’ve caught up with the rest. As you follow behind, the looming shadow of Hunter’s figure remains on your right. He’s not looking in your direction, and you’re not so disillusioned to think otherwise, but you still feel passing looks, occasional yet piercing. Like he’s trying to pinpoint the features under your cap.
“Well, alright, Maple,” He says. “I see Crosshair by the shore with his boys. We shouldn’t keep `him waiting.”
“Yeah, we shouldn’t,” You agree, silently exhaling darkly and rowing beside him in continued silence.
-
The hike takes longer than usual; between detours for campers to do their business awkwardly behind a tree and the younger boys straying from the group getting lost about halfway through, Crosshair is left almost ready to burst. The sight of him so irritated is amusing, no doubt, but you know not to even try to interact with him unless you want an arrow right between your eyes. Why he always carry his bow with him, you're still unsure.
“Alright, everyone, get out your jars,” You instruct the group after reaching the top of the hill, creating a circle in the clearing. The sky is still painted with passionate oranges and yellows, but in just a few minutes the sun will descend and what you’re waiting for shall appear.
“Remember, be careful once you do catch them,” Hunter reminds everyone. Your eyes can’t help but flicker in his direction; it’s instinct to look at whoever’s talking; with Hunter, you've still yet to learn not to. “Don’t shake the jar too hard, don’t cover the airholes, and remember to let them out before we all leave. Understood?”
“Yes, Hunter!”
The yellows and oranges slowly darken as the night arrives promptly, blanketing you all in darkness. Until, only a few moments later, there is a small blink of lime. Then another. Then five. All around you, do the fireflies beacon your spot, fluttering around you in swarms. There are awes, mostly from the girls as the boys mutter emasculated versions of reverence, which you can’t deny makes you laugh.
With the twinkles of lights wrapped around you, you slowly open your jar to catch a few effortlessly. Betty turns your way, astonished, which seems to attract the attention of Cilla and Hilary as well.
“How did you do it so easily?” Hilary asks.
You grin, looking down at your jaw with a soft look of humility.
“I did this all the time when I was your age,” You explain. “And a lot more times after that. Practice.”
Their mouths form tiny o-shapes and they nod, quickly going to try and catch a few themselves.
“Where did Omega run off to?” You say them before you lose their attention.
Kayla points to where Crosshair stands stiffly.
“With her brother. I think she’s trying to get him to do it too.”
You look over as the girls skitter off. Omega still has that sweet smile of hers as she holds up his wrists in a tight grip, mouth moving to tell him what no doubt is an encouragement to try himself. Crosshair still has a frown on his face but does as she says, and his face slowly softens when he catches one without any hesitation with just his hand.
"Good job!" She cheers, before calling out, "Hunter, look! Crosshair caught one!"
The firefly flickers in his palm, the lime seeping through the small air holes between his fingers.
"Wasn't too bad, right?" Omega tilts her head, smiling as she watches Crosshair's expression play out. His eyes remain glued to his hand.
"It wasn't," He responds.
It’s not very long before he lets it go.
It gives you time to look back down at your jaw, lifting it up to your face. You tilt your head in fascination, and you don't even realize the smile creeping up on you until your cheeks begin to hurt a little.
“Having’ a good time?”
Your heart leaps, then your instinct does that stupid thing again and turns to the sound of Hunter’s voice (How do you forget that he’s still attached to that gorgeous body?). You look back instantly.
“I am,” You mutter, looking up to see the fireflies flit through the night. Striking against the navy sky, they still don’t manage to brighten the night enough for you to get a clear view of anyone’s face. Hunter included. At least that makes this easier.
“Your girls seem to be having fun.”
Even in the darkness, the fleeting lights manage to give you a sight of Hannah catching her first firefly, smiling proudly before turning to show the others.
“Yeah, they are,” You let yourself smile as well. A familiar shiver rushes through you with a feeling of a stare dancing feather-light over your skin. This time, you’re not disillusioned at all; Hunter’s eyes are on you. That’s definitely not nerve-wracking at all.
“Looks like they have a lot of fun with you,” He continues. You instinctively, foolishly, turn his direction and just manage to see the faded view of his profile while he talks. He turns to you. You stare at his nose instead of even trying to make eye contact.
“Really?” Your voice comes out softer, weaker than you expect. You wince internally in embarrassment.
Hunter nods, and in your foggy view, his lips seem to curve up in what looks like a grin.
“I’ve seen you with them,” The mere idea of what that connotates makes you take a deep breath and bite your lip. At all costs, you make sure not to do anything crass. “They connect with you a lot. Especially Omega.”
Your body relaxes. You’d prefer not to use the word soften just yet, lest you wanted to feel so pliant to even the merest compliment.
“She’s a great kid.”
“She is,” He responds. There’s a pause; you expect the conversation to end, but then he starts talking again. Hunter hisses in another breath. “You know… Omega doesn’t exactly have a real woman, er, influence in her life.”
You tilt your head, eyebrows knitted. It begs a silent question that Hunter seems to pick up on.
“Yeah, it’s just me and my brothers and her,” A noise slips out of you, something bordering on an empathetic coo, though it inevitably sounds just like a hum. “So… you’ve been a great influence.”
Your lips part delicately, suddenly so unbearably soft.
“Really?” You repeat. It seems your vocabulary doesn’t expand more than 3 words when talking to Hunter.
He nods, then leans in. You almost pull away in your flushed surprise.
“Don’t tell her I said this…” He whispers. The way his voice rasps and holds onto his words so quietly makes you want to feel his voice even closer, straight in your ear. You don’t inch further. “...But she says you’re like the sister she never had.”
The admittance is intimate, you realize once he finishes his sentence. A sweet little secret between you two, and suddenly, you’re smiling like a damn near fool.
“That’s very nice to hear,” You say, feeling your cheeks burn a little hotter when Hunter grins back. “Thank you for telling me that.”
He tilts his chin down as a way of acknowledgment.
“`Of course, Maple.”
Before anything else can be said, Wesley runs up to the two of you, gripping Hunter’s bicep and shaking it furiously.
“Owen smushed one of the fireflies!” He says in distress, eyes wide as he points over to where the other boys are staring in horror at Owen’s palm. Hunter turns to you immediately before responding to him.
“Gotta deal with this,” He says in a mutter, just low enough so Wesley doesn’t hear. “It was nice talking to you.”
You blink, adjusting to the sudden change in atmosphere.
“Yeah, yeah,” You stammer. “Real nice.”
Those eyes you can’t seem to look into give you another look before he leaves you with sweaty palms, gripping your jar like a madman.
-
At the bonfire later that night, you don’t dare to look up from your feet.
Somehow, talking to Hunter has made your silly little infatuation even worse. You’ve seen the way he attentively focuses in on whoever he’s talking to, giving them his full attention to make them feel listened to and special; to finally receive such attention has made you positively giddy. Panicked, but giddy nonetheless.
Around the campfire, you hum softly to the tune he leads the group in while your cabin belts proudly.
Hunter has a very nice singing voice; you discover this the first week when he first offered up his skills to lead the camp in songs and games every night.
You almost looked into his eyes then that first time, watching him strum simple chords on his guitar, singing simple camp songs in the most gruff, lovely voice, and encouraging others to join. But that was a while ago. Now fear stops you from getting close to that ever again.
Like last time, the Pine cabin immediately surrounds him, perfectly poised postures and smiles put on for his viewing pleasure.
“How’d you get so good?” A girl named Sherine asks while leaning in, reaching out to run her fingers over the guitar strings. Hunter tenses. At least that’s what it looks like to you.
”Practice,” He answers bluntly, before continuing to answer each of their questions.
Pine’s counselor, Mona, walks up beside you with a chuckle.
”Those girls…” She sighs, shaking her head softly. “Don’t they realize how much older he is compared to them? Don't most of them have boyfriends anyway?”
You giggle and nod along with her observations, trying to ignore the feeling of eyes on you recurring as Hunter’s gaze wanders.
As the girls finally get ready for bed, combing their hair and changing into their pajamas, someone tugs at your sleeve, once twice, five times. You turn, looking down at Omega's wide, doe-eyes.
“Something wrong?” You ask.
Her eyes search yours, frantic.
“...I think I forgot my book down by the lake.”
You huff, almost surprised by her audacity.
“Can’t you just wait until the morning?” You offer instead.
Omega shakes her head, a frown on her lips.
“I can’t go to sleep without reading!” She insists. You arch your eyebrows and place your free hand on your hip, but she doesn’t budge. You sigh.
“Fine,” You say, kneeling to mutter quietly, “You’re in charge if anything goes wrong while I’m getting it. If Tech comes by for lights-out inspection, tell him I’m in the bathroom. Got it?”
Omega nods, saluting with a grin.
“On it!” She says, then adds graciously, “Thank you so much .”
It’s hard not to let yourself smile a little at her before leaving through the door, quietly creeping down to the lake.
The crickets chirping is a nice little sound to keep yourself grounded in the darkness. It might've been wiser to bring a flashlight, you realize, but it isn't that long of a walk anyway. You listen to the sound of your own steps and watch the rustling of leaves overhead, the moonlight peaking through and illuminating the path ahead of you. In the distance, that same flickering of fireflies from the top of the hiking trail gives you a little, just a little more sight to make your way down the steep path and to the shore of the lake.
Your eyes dart around the dock, looking for Omega’s book. You’re unsure what it looks like; you probably should’ve asked her. You slowly walk closer, ensuring that your feet don’t crunch a leaf or snap a twig, before creeping up where the water meets the rocks. A heap of clothes is laid there, messily thrown on top of each other.
That’s strange. And highly unlikely that someone just forgot their clothes at the lake and returned to camp bare.
The water ripples slowly, and a figure moves languidly under the break. The large rock to your right suddenly becomes the perfect spot to perch behind as you watch whatever is swimming around.
You take another look at the pile of clothes. Under what seems like regular jean shorts, a slip of red peaks through and meets the ground. Squinting your eyes, you almost gasp when you realize what it is.
Hunter’s bandana.
Suddenly, something bursts out of the water. You almost squeak in your shock, but keep silent. Only your eyes slowly peak over the rock as you see long, dark hair flip backward in a spray of water, a broad chest taking a large breath of fresh air, just going to its hips before slowly shifting back down into the water. You only see that prominent V-Line for just a few moments, a split second of vulnerability Hunter doesn’t even know he’s exposing, for you to gasp so, so silently into your chest.
He’s naked.
Holy shit, he’s naked.
And he looks damn good too.
He slowly moves around in the water, head leaned back as he relaxes, barely letting his hips reach the surface. This is not good, this is an absolute violation of his privacy, why the fuck can’t you look away?
You force yourself to, however, once he looks as though he’s about to leave. His strong arms reach to hold his hair back from his face, wringing it, and you make your run for it, having little regard for making more noise than you did when you first arrived.
Panting and disheveled, face and ears red, you return to your cabin.
“Did you find my book?” Omega asks once you come through the door.
“Couldn’t,” You answer, automatically and robotically, before hiding your face in your pillow and suppressing a scream.

Adam Ruzek- Single Dad Pt1
Tumblr media
Adams POV
"Ally, Jay and Erin are here" I call out to my 4 year old daughter and in no time at all I hear tiny footsteps running down the stairs
"Jay, Erin" she yells coming into view making us laugh
"Hey little one you ready for ice cream?" Jay asks
"Yes yes yes. Erin. Daddy said you can do my hair"
"Of course. We all know your dad sucks at doing hair"
"Hey I've got better" I put my hands up in protest
"Yeah yeah come here Ally" I watch as my daughter interacts with Erin. I guess she is the closest thing Ally has ever had to a mother
"So how's the dating going?" Jay asks
"It's not. Once they find out I have a daughter they don't want to know" I sigh
"You'll find her bro. Don't loose hope. You never know where you'll meet her or how" Jay pats me on the back, I turn to see Erin finishing Ally's hair. I grab my back pack which has everything Ally and I need in and we get into the car, Erin helping Ally into her car seat
"Ready?" I ask and everyone yells back yes.
Some time later
We have been at the ice cream shop for only 10 minutes
"Daddy can I have a chocolate ice cream with sprinkles?"
"Sure you can" I order mine, Ally's, Jay and Erin's ice creams and some drinks. Ally and I take them over to where Erin and Jay are sitting
"Daddy, that girl was pretty you should ask for her number. Kevin does that" this makes all of us laugh
"I'm sure he does Ally" I shake my head
"You've got yourself a wing woman Adam"
"Kevin also said that kids are chick magnets. What does that mean?"
"Errrm..." just before I can say anything the door opens and I see probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen walking in holding a little boys hand.
YN POV
"Jack do you want some ice cream?" I ask my 5 year old little brother. My mum had me young, 17 to be exact then much later in life had my little brother
"Yes please" Jack says and I take him into the nearest ice cream shop
"Hi can I get a strawberry ice cream and a chocolate ice cream please" I ask the lady behind the counter. A few moments later the lady gives us our ice creams and I pay
"Ok Jack let's find a seat" we sit at a table that's next to a group of people, 2 of them are holding hands and look to be a couple the other guy has a little girl sat next to him and he isn't bad looking to be fair
"YN?"
"Hmm"
"When we're done can we go park?"
"Of course we can" I give my little brother a smile and we eat our ice cream.
Later on we walk to the park which is only down the road. I spend the next 20 pushing Jack on the swing
"Ok little man my arms are hurting I need a break"
"Ok" Jack jumps off the swing and I notice the small group of people from the ice cream shop coming over to the park. I sit down on a bench and watch Jack run around
"Bye Erin bye Jay!" I hear the little girl shout and the little girl and the guy come in
"Ok go play. I'll be over here"
"Ok daddy" the guy walks over to me
"Can I sit?"
"Yeah sure" I take my bag off the bench and the really handsome guy sits next to me
"You've got a cute kid"
"Oh no thats my little brother, but that little cutie is yours?" I ask
"Errr yeah" the guy says slightly awkward, damn it he's got a girlfriend or wife
"I'm YN by the way" I put my hand out for him to shake
"Nice to meet you. I'm Adam and that's my daughter Ally"
"YN! This is my new friend. Can she come over to play?"
"We will see" I give Jack a smile
"Ok" and with that the kids run off together to carry on playing together
"Hey can I get your number?"
"Won't your girlfriend be upset?" I raise my eyebrows
"I don't... I'm a single dad. She walked out on us when Ally was born"
"Oh I'm so sorry"
"No no it's ok you didn't know and anyway everything happens for a reason right" Adam smirks as he holds out his phone. I smile taking it from him and put my number in, I give him my phone and he does the same
"So what do you do for a job?" I ask Adam
"I'm a cop, intelligence. What about you?"
"I'm a dog trainer. I work mainly with dogs who have behavioural problems"
"Do you have a dog?"
"I have 4 actually" I laugh "I just keep rescuing them. It's a problem"
"So this might sound a little forward, but would you like to go out for Lunch tomorrow? You know just the 2 of us" Adam asks shyly
"Sure I'm not training any dogs tomorrow"
"Text me your address and I'll pick you up"
"Perfect"
Adam and I continue to chat while Jack and Ally play together. For the rest of the day Jack can't stop talking about his new best friend.

Hi!💓 I have a few questions, apologies if they are a lil vague, it's just something that has been on my mind lately as a fairly new fan:
1. Was it ever clear that Chinatsu is the next top? Was it the reason for Ari's transfer, or was it a need for ninbante in star and that's why Chinatsu became the next in moon?
2. Also, how did you predict back then that Coto will have a long run as top star? Based on what in particular?
3. Why did Tamaki became top star comparably so early?
4. And I know that lgbt+ culture is practically nonexistent in Japan, but i still wonder if any of the actress ever talked abt it or addressed it in any way? Has anything regarding lgbt happened around taka that you know of?
Thanks a lot for your blog!! I am writing a wiki page in my mother tongue for taka rn, since it doesn't exist yet, and ur explanations clarified a few things for me, so thanks a ton again! 💕
Hello! Not vague at all :)
It was NOT personally clear to me that Chinatsu was going to be top (usually these things are obvious, occasionally we get a surprise). I don't think it was the reason for Ari's transfer though; it's impossible to know for sure, but my guess is more because of Oda (they don't want her to wait for Ari to finish) and some need to balance Hoshi. With Chinatsu as an older top, she can stay for a shorter time (similar examples would be Sou Kazuho and Hokusho Kairi, also older tops who stayed for three Grand Theater shows) and Oda can become top sooner.
I had a feeling Coto would be a long top for a number of reasons... 1) she's extremely popular and puts a lot of butts in seats, 2) she has a reputation for being a "mini Yuzuki Reon," who also stayed for a really long time, 3) the Hoshigumi producer has a bit of a reputation for putting a lot of stock in high-powered top stars and somewhat neglecting the nurturing of his track, and 4) until Ari came over there was no clear successor, which made me think they were going to ride Coto until they figured it out.
I've only heard rumors about this... one that Miya Rurika didn't want to be top star, one that Manaki Reika was so popular they designed the troupe around her and the producers didn't like her and Miya/Kacha together as much as they liked her and Tamaki together... but again, there is no way to know for sure.
Firstly, LGBT+ culture is NOT practically nonexistent in Japan—not saying this to correct you, but it's an impression a lot of people get and it makes them sad! So I want to share the reality of it! LGBT+ activism is way less prevalent than in other cultures (and as a result, legal protections are definitely behind), but this is true of pretty much all types of activism (I had an interesting conversation about this with a group of Japanese climate activists). There is a rich LGBT+ nightlife scene, and over the years Japan has been fairly ahead of the curve when it comes to queerness in media and fan culture. There is, however, a very "we pretend we do not see it" energy despite the prevalence. That said, Takarazuka actresses are almost definitely forbidden from talking about this while active, and discouraged while retired (especially if they stay in entertainment). Even if they are not actively discouraged, because there is no culture around being open about it on a real and personal level, they certainly wouldn't out other people and likely wouldn't out themselves. There are OGs both in and out of entertainment who are not shy about living as their honest selves and you can pretty much tell, but it still doesn't tend to be something they openly talk about (Nanami Hiroki and Miya Rurika have discussed breaking gender norms in interviews, but have skirted around saying anything definitive about themselves). The one exception I can immediately think of is Misuzu Aki retired and blogged about moving to Europe with her female partner.

My not so normal little sister
Chapter 3: Regrets
Notes:
A little bit of context about what happened mixed with the present.
I hope all of you like it.
……………….........................
Tim stood there for a few minutes in front of the computer, still trying to believe what he was reading. "I have a sister... I have a little sister and she is sick…" he mumbled to himself and that was the only thought going through Tim Drake-Wayne's mind at that moment. He had a 22 year old sister who he didn't know about until 4 hours ago and she was going in for surgery. Tim leaned back in his chair, rubbing his eyes, staring at the screen in front of him with a half-lost gaze, coming to his senses when he heard voices entering the cave. He saved what was still open in his documents, watching Alfred bring Barbara closer to him.
The butler, who was much more of a grandfather than anything else, looked at him intensely, slightly raising his eyebrow, realizing that something was wrong. He didn't comment on the red eyes of the boy in front of him, just walking over and placing his hand on his shoulder.
" Maybe it's better that you don't go out today, Master Tim. I don't think you have the conditions to be part of the activities." Alfred paused briefly, looking again at the boy in front of him "I believe a good night's sleep will help, don't you think?"
"I... " Tim blinked several times, looking at him and sighing heavily. " I'll be in my room if anyone needs me." He didn't take long, getting up from his chair and heading towards the entrance that gave access to the mansion, bumping lightly into Damian as he entered the place.
"Tt. Watch where you walk Drake. This isn't that difficult if you keep your functionality to a minimum." He said as he saw him go up the stairs frowning " What happened to him? He's not in his normal sleep-deprived state…"
"I don't know Master Damian. Maybe he just needs some rest." Alfred says with concern "You should go change, the others will be here in little time."
…………………………
Tim knew what he needed to do. He went straight to his room, sitting on the bed and turning on the computer. He was going to arrange a flight to Paris the next day, but until then, he needed to find out everything he could about his sister as soon as possible. He took out his cell phone, typing her phone number and opened it to send a message.
Unknow number
I'm going to Paris as soon as possible.
Send me news when you can,
the sooner the better.
Be safe.
Tim
Paris – 7:40 am
Emilie got out of the car and headed straight for the bakery entrance. As soon as she walked in she could see Sabine at the counter finishing up with the customer. She smiled slightly at her friend, sitting at a table a little farther from the entrance, watching her friend from afar. She was happy to be able to have a good friendship with Sabine for the last 3 years, a bond that grew out of the relationship of their children. She still didn't understand why the two ended up, however both decided not to give details of the reason and just move on. The last 3 months were hard to see both of them walk away, even though they still felt something strong for each other. They were suffering, each in their own way and in their own corner.
Emilie watched her friend approach, standing up and hugging her tight as Sabine placed the tray on the table. Emilie could see Sabine's tired look, her worried eyes as the two of them sat in their respective seats. She held her hand, squeezing it lightly, but before she even asked what had happened, her friend started talking.
"I didn't know you had returned from London. How is your sister? I thought you would spend more time there…" Sabine said putting a cup next to Emilie and taking another for herself with some tea.
"Amelie is great and I ended up spending too much time there. Adrien was pretty wrapped up with college and with the two of them over, I thought I'd better return. He's been pretty reclusive for the last month."
"There's not much we can do, unfortunately. They're adults Em, they need to know what to do and if they need us we'll be there to help." She said after drinking some of her tea.
"I know it's just that… " she paused leaving her cup on the table "Am I the only one who sees that the two of them are getting hurt?"
Sabine took a deep breath before answering, but before she even started to speak she heard the bakery door slam, looking in the direction, seeing a young man her daughter's age come running towards her.
"Peter? Why are you here?" She said in surprise, arching her eyebrow.
"Aunt Sabine! Glad I found you here. I wasn't going to leave that stubborn one alone in the hospital and I came to stay with her. Only she refuses for two days to give me any information. I was going straight to the hospital but I thought it was better to stop by to ask your permission."
"Oh my darling." she said smiling " I'm so glad you came, even though I knew she didn't want anyone there…" she said getting up and hugging the boy who was much bigger than her.
"She's almost a sister... I wouldn't leave her alone now…" Peter replied, hugging her tight. In a way Sabine was very reminiscent of his aunt. Not that they were physically similar, but because of their posture and, sometimes, their way of acting and speaking.
"Hospital?" Emilie looked at Sabine without understanding what was happening, taking a deep breath before speaking.
"Marinette will have surgery in 3 hours. She's already in the hospital, Luka just texted me a warning. We were just finishing things around here and we're heading there. It was all very fast since we found out she was sick until they scheduled the surgery...."
"I was at the company yesterday and Adrien told me she was going on vacation?" Emilie looked at Sabine confused, trying to understand how this information didn't reach her. "As I understand it, everyone at the company thinks she’s on vacation…"
"She didn't want to tell anyone there and asked me to avoid telling other people" she said feeling Peter put his arm around the eldest shoulders, in a sign of support  "She's in a difficult process, she said she doesn't want anyone worried anymore with her or for people to stop what they need to do to help her. She's closing down more and more... Peter and Luka are one of the few people she's been talking to." She sighed, lowering her head slightly. "I'm sorry for the lack of manners, Emilie…" she said, hugging the boy from the side "this is Peter Parker, a great friend of Mari, he lives in New York."
Peter extended his hand to greet the woman in front of him "It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am. Mars always speaks with great affection and admiration of you…"
" She told me about you... " Emilie smiled slightly at the boy, still showing a slight confusion and frustration in her face "How did she say... "if it wasn't for him I would be lost in New York until today”. " she smiled slightly at the memory, turning her attention to Sabine "What happened to her?
"Peter, why don't you keep your things in Mari's old room? Tom and I are leaving in a little while to go to the hospital and you're coming with us, okay?" He nodded quickly, heading towards the back of the bakery, greeting Tom quickly and heading towards the apartment at the top.
"She has a brain tumor, found out when she got back from New York a little over a month ago…" Sabine started talking as soon as she sat down again. "The doctors said that the surgery despite being very aggressive has a success rate of almost 100% but that the recovery is expected to be slow." Sabine took a deep breath, drinking a little more of the tea to calm down " it all happened so fast. One day she was fine and the next we were in the hospital after she had a bad headache and passed out. " Sabine started to cry as her friend held her hand to reassure her that she was there to help her. "She didn't want to tell anyone and with all the rush of exams that went on in the last month…"
"Hey, calm down Sabine... It's okay, it's going to be okay! She is a young woman, strong and it is obvious that she will be alright!" Emilie said, looking her friend in the eye "do you want me to go to the hospital with you?"
"No, you don't have to. She didn't want to tell anyone, if there are a lot of people there she'll get agitated" she sighed wiping her tears  "I'll call you to let you know how the procedure went. All going well, the doctor said she should stay a little more than a week in the hospital." Sabine squeezes her friend's hand lightly, getting up and follows. "I need to go, she made me promise that we were going to leave the bakery open with Jonas taking care, because according to her, life can't stop because she's sick."
"Be well and send me news as soon as possible." She said hugging her friend "if you need me let me know! I'll come back later so we can talk better." They said goodbye briefly, with Emilie leaving the bakery and getting in the car heading straight for the company, while Sabine went to organize herself to leave as soon as possible to the hospital.
…………………
Emilie arrived at the company going straight to her son's room. Adrien was one of the directors and, despite not having finished college, he was doing very well at what he did. She glanced at the watch on her wrist and from the time she knew he still hadn't left for his late-morning classes. She knocked lightly on the door before entering, seeing him reading some documents on the computer.
"Adrien, my dear. I didn't see you when you left this morning…" she said as she entered and headed towards the table, sitting in a chair right in front of her son "I just met Sabine." She said putting her bag on the chair next to him, looking at him.
"I didn't know you were going there... How are they? I confess that I haven't been there since Mari and I broke up." - He finished the sentence with a low voice, sighing and turning his attention to her mother. "Did something happen? you usually come back excited from it."
"When was the last time you and Mari talked? Sabine told me she's in the hospital, checked in this morning... Did you know that Mari is sick?"
"What do you mean is Mari sick? What happened to her?" He got up from his chair, heading towards his mother, sitting next to her. He looked at her worriedly, trying to understand what she was talking about "mom, Mari was here in a meeting two days ago, I don't know what you're talking about."
"Marinette is going into surgery in two hours." She said, passing her hand on her son's face "Sabine didn't give me details, but from what I understand it's not very simple. She's going to have a tumor removed…"
Adrien leaned back in his chair, looking at the wall behind his mother not really knowing what to say and what was going on. "We haven't spoken directly in a month or so… she hinted that she didn't want to talk to me at the moment and had been avoiding me for the last few weeks. She didn't tell me anything." He spoke in a devastated voice, running a hand through his hair. "We had an argument when she got back from New York, I said I was sorry, that I wish we... I shouldn't and didn't want to break up with her…"
"Oh Adrien, I'm so sorry... but if you guys talked why…"
"She said you can't forget what was said and, honestly, you can't go back with the words I said. I said things to her when we broke up that she didn't deserve to hear, not after all she's done for me... When we spoke last time she made it very clear that she needed space and time for us to talk again…"
"Do you want to talk about it? We can try …" - She said hugging his son.
"No, I definitely don't want to talk about it." He took a deep breath moving away from Emilie "Do you have news of where and how she is?"
"No honey... Sabine promised me that she would let me know and give me news when the surgery was over. She asked no one to go there, she said her daughter didn't want anyone to know…" She said, rubbing her son's face, removing some tears that had fallen. "It's going to be okay and as soon as I have news I'll pass it on to you. Do you want me to stay here a little longer?"
"Thanks Mom." He took a deep breath "if you want to go, I'll be fine here. I don't think I'm going out today. I highly doubt I'll be able to do anything before I hear from her."
"Alright then I'll go to my office and take the opportunity to get you some tea... ok?"
Adrien just nodded, his eyes fixed on the wall in front of him. He sighed, remembering the day he'd realized the biggest mistake he'd ever made in his life.
Flashback
"MyLady, it's a pleasure as always to see you here…" He smiled in her direction "You've been missing for a long time since we've seen each other, were you still in training with the order?"
"Hello Chatton. My training ended a few months ago, but with the rush of everyday life I didn't have time for night outings" she laughed weakly "I was very immersed in work that was delayed precisely because of training."
"Did something happen? Any specific reason to call me?" He looked at her from afar. She was depressed, lacking the smile that always accompanied and lit up her face. Something must have happened. He watched the woman he loved so much sit on the only sofa in the empty living room, in front of a large window that overlooked a park with the Eiffel Tower in the background. It was the highest floor of the building and the view from the place was beautiful.
"I brought you here to talk to you about something important. A few months ago, Bunnix took me to the future to solve a problem. Not to mention things that could interfere in the future and to give a brief summary, an ancient secret organization called the League of Assassins managed to get hold of some miraculous and it can be said that things got out of control very quickly." she paused looking at him seriously "I need you to avoid going out like Chat Noir as much as possible. I know how important this is to you, but unless we have more information, it's best to keep the Miraculous as hidden as possible."
Chat's eyes widened in surprise at her comment, processing what was said. "Do you think there's any chance they're after us? I remember you commenting on them some time ago…"
"I don't know... But I'm trying to see the options we have. If they go after the Miraculous, the first place they'll look is…"
"Paris!" He completed her sentence sitting on the sofa next to her" especially after the news had become international. "He paused thinking about the matter" As the identities of the other wilders were not disclosed they will have no problems...
"I don't think so either... At the moment only Fluff, Tikki and Plagg are active, I don't think that's a problem." She paused, trying to direct the conversation as best she could. "Adrien, I brought you here because with the training of the order I was able to magically create something similar to the dimension that exists for the Kwamis and I want to try to give you access to it. You will be able to put anything in there, however you will only be able to take it out if it was something you put in. Just like you won't be able to take anyone inside... If you realize you're at risk, you'll be able to access the room from anywhere."
Ladybug stood up walking into the apartment, stopping in front of a door and reciting brief words with her hand on the door handle. When she was done, she opened the door, revealing a place resembling a small library, with books, a small sofa, table, and a chair. She took Chat Noir's hand, placing it over the invisible wall that restricted his passage in the room. After she spoke a few more words, which he couldn't quite make out, his hand went through the invisible barrier, allowing him through the door.
"Uow MyLady .... This is very ... " he looked at the place and was impressed, turning to her "I really appreciate you trusting me like that."
"I trust you for almost everything Adrien… " he turned around quickly "I call this place pocket dimension. The entire apartment is protected with some spells to prevent the place from having any kind of unwanted visitors. The magic placed here was made precisely so that those who are outside see mundane things even though it is discreet and difficult to track…"
Chat Noir looked at her somehow, a little hurt by the words, but he would come back to that question later "Whose apartment is it? How long have you been organizing all this?" He looked at her, seeing her turn towards him.
"I started to think about it when I was finishing my training in order. The apartment is in my name... there's something else I need to talk to you about before we leave. I'm going away on a trip and I don't know when I'll be back. Probably a month from now, or a little longer I think…"
"LB, what happened? You're down…" He said, looking at her intently. Ladybug was always a very energetic person and despite her insecurity when they were younger she always knew what to do and seeing her the way she was made him feel devastated.
She sat in the closest chair, still looking straight ahead "Some personal issues that came up…" Ladybug looked at him pointing to the spot next to her "My boyfriend and I ended our relationship after three years and things are a little complicated. Can you say that I'm still adapting?"
"Relationships are difficult. I know you liked him a lot from the few times we talked, but maybe it was for the better?" he said, sighing "It seems that these last few days have not been very good for either of us. My girlfriend and I broke up too. But if you want to talk, I'm all ears…" He said sitting next to her.
"There's not much to say, we can't change what people feel" she smiled weakly making a brief pause "But why did you break up?"
"Marinette is a wonderful person and I like her a lot, don't get me wrong, it was probably the hardest decision I made. But it didn't make sense to be with her thinking about someone else" he finished the sentence looking directly at her, the hint of his words being perceptible.
Ladybug closed her eyes lightly, letting a tear fall, wiping it away in the same instant he felt it. After a few moments she took a deep breath opening her eyes so she felt calmer. "When I told you that you wouldn't love the person under that mask you never really believed it... You always said you'd recognize me anywhere." he looked at her without understanding, seeing her get up and go towards the door, stopping without even turning to him "eight days ago you broke up with me because I wasn't the person with this mask. I'm sorry I was a little skeptical and emotional about what you just said, but it's a little hard to believe you at the moment.” She spoke without a hint of anger or resentment.
Adrien stood looking at her, not understanding what she was saying, when he finally registered what she had said. He sees all the glamour of the suit fall, the presence of the person in front of him being clear. His expression changed from confusion to desperation in seconds.
No... It couldn't be. He blinked a few times quickly, when he finally managed to react "Mari… ? No…"
"When you want to get out of here, just put your hand on the doorknob and think about where you want to go. When you open the door, you will be in the exact place you thought, as long as it is empty." she said putting her hand on the doorknob, taking a deep breath without looking at him" See you another time Adrien …"  she opened the door and he could see her room just before she closed the door behind her.

Jason gets de-aged because I've seen fics of Tim or Dick being de-aged, and Bruce losing his memory, but no one has realized the potential for angst if you de-age Jason.
Bruce couldn’t do this. Sure he fights criminals on a daily basis, he’s fought aliens, hell, he’s been to space, for crying out loud. But he could not look at his dead- undead son. He could barely look at Jason as a 21 year old, much less looking how he had weeks before he died.
“Bruce, I know this is hard, but–”
“No, Dick, you don’t, because you were off planet to even know what was happening.” It was a low blow. Bruce knew that. He knew he was burning bridges, but he wanted to be alone. He didn’t want his kids to see him break down. He could fix those bridges later.
For a moment, Bruce could see the fiery 20 year old Dick desperately trying to be let loose, but then Dick glanced at his siblings, “Why don’t you guys go upstairs, while Bruce and I talk things through.” Dick wasn’t asking though, and they knew.
So the four of them headed up the stairs, leaving Bruce with Dick and Alfred.
“Are you going to slap me halfway across the cave again? Are you going to take away my keys again? We’ve been down this road before, Bruce. It wasn’t fun for either of us.” Dick leaned against the table and crossed his arms, “The only reason I’m not screaming at you right now is because I know that I have to be here for those kids. Cass, Tim, Steph, Duke, Damian . They need me here, but Jason? Jason doesn’t need me , he needs you . He wants you.”
Bruce thought about all the things that had driven a wall between him and his second son. “No he–”
Dick groaned, “B, when he saw me come out of the Batmobile instead of you, I could see his expression crumble.”
“When he realized you were in the cave, he was so eager to see you, Master Bruce. He was hurt when you barely acknowledged him.” Alfred placed a hand on Bruce’s shoulder, “The boy upstairs is not the broody Red Hood nor the Robin who died in that warehouse yet. He’s the child you brought into this manor to make sure he was loved. The boy, who despite all the darkness around him, still managed to shine brighter than the sun. We’re not saying this situation will be easy, Lad, but you have to try. For Jason.”
“I don't know if I can .”
“Jesus Christ. I forgot you don’t speak Emotions . Fine. I’ll give you a language you understand.” Dick went over to the computer and opened a new Mission planner “Mission: Fun Sized Jason. Rule number 1, Don’t make him upset. Rule number 2, don’t brood more than usual. Rule number 3, Don’t let Jason know something’s up between your relationship with him because that will probably break Rule number 1. Mission Objective, keep Jason happy until we can get him back to full size. Alfred is allowed to add rules and Objectives. Understood?”
And suddenly, Bruce had a little empathy for Damian’s Robin under Dick’s Batman. “Got it.” Bruce gave his oldest son a slight smile. “Honestly, this might be my hardest mission yet.”
Dick and Alfred shared a look, “You’ll do fine, Master Bruce.”
“I’m gonna check up on everyone, I can come back down once I’m done, if you want.”
“I’ll be fine, Chum, I’m just going to call Zatanna and finish putting a bit of info in.”
Dick nodded, “Alright.” He made his way to the stairs, “Goodnight Alfred, Goodnight Bruce, tell Z I said hi.”
Dick’s first destination was the kitchen. It was usually the first place Cass and Steph went after patrol. Because Steph grabs a midnight waffle for her ride home.
Though when he got to the kitchen, it was just Cass sitting on  the counter with a mug of tea in her hands. She tilted her head, the question of are you ok clear as day.
If Dick tried to lie, Cass would just see through him. He sat down next to her, “Everything went well with Bruce, it’s just that…”
“It’s strange, conflicting. Seeing Jason.”
“Yeah.”
“He is a cute child.” Cass rested her head on Dicks shoulder. And Dick rested his hand on hers. “Tiny.”
“Yeah,” Dick chuckled, “Like no one would’ve expected Jason to be as tall as Bruce.”
They sat together in silence until Duke came into the kitchen, and Dick patted the space next to him as an invitation.
“I’ve been thinking, if you, or Bruce, or even Alred, need me to keep Jason company while you take a moment to work through… memories, I’d be happy to do it. I don’t have any history with him, we’re close enough to the same age.”
Dick patted Duke’s shoulder, “You’re a good brother. Just don’t let Bruce throw him on you too much because I’m trying to get him to try .”
“Maybe it’ll be easier for Bruce after he gets over the initial shock. Even Damian was shocked. He didn't even try to stab Jason. He was wearing Jason’s jacket.”
Right! Damian! And it was strange. He was having a very different reaction than Dick had expected. Dick had to talk to him, but first “Did you get a picture?”
A grin spread across Duke’s face. “I already sent it in the groupchat.”
Dick hopped off the counter, “Lovely. I’m gonna go check on him. And then I’ll check on Jason.”
“Anything you need us to do?”
“Um.. yes, there is one thing.” Dick paused for effect, “Go to bed.”
Damian was leaning on Titus in the corner of his room, with Alfred the cat in his lap. It was a strange revelation that his Akhi was his wayward brother all along. Yet, it also made perfect sense. They both were in the League, and Todd had said something about mother taking him in.  He just did not expect Todd to be Akhi . He didn’t even think that Akhi was still alive. One day Damian had been drawing next to him and the next he was gone. Akhi had two modes; Stay still, or protect. He would immediately fight whoever Damian was supposed to spar and pull him out of reach of any attackers. Akhi would hold Damian while mother was busy, or sit next to him, or follow him if Damian started to wander too far. Yet he rarely ever spoke. Maybe that’s why he never drew the connection between Todd and Akhi. Because even though Todd could be silent if he wanted to, he spouted out the signature Robin quips like second nature. Or yelled at father, taking shot after shot, barely giving father a chance to speak. And above all else, behind Todd’s eyes you could see the calculations, you could see him taking in his surroundings or contemplating risks he was willing to take in the moment, you could see him playing out plans in his head to see every possible outcome. Whereas Akhi had alway had a far off look. Like his mind was never really there.
There was a knock at the open door, Dick leaning on the door frame, “Are you ok, Damian?”
“Tt.” He started drawing swirls into Alfreds fur, and then smoothed them out.
Dick moved to sit next to Damian. They sat in silence, though it felt like Damian could hear Dick staring with concern.
Damian spared a glance at Dick, “Todd spent time in the League. At Nanda Parbat. Under my mother’s care. With me.” Alfred’s fur was suddenly a lot more interesting than it had been minutes ago, “I didn’t even know it was him, not until a couple of hours ago. I’m the son of the greatest detective, and I didn’t even realize that my Akhi was my brother.” It was making him feel young, seeing Todd like this again, “I thought they killed him, but I- I guess they put him in the Lazerus pit after that, and then he couldn’t come back, because he had to come here, but I wish mother had– Todd, He protected me, Baba . It was only for a little while, but he protected me. He showed me kindness.” Damian met Dick’s eyes which were slightly glossy.
“Well, that does sound like Jason. He’s always had a soft spot for kids.” Dick let out a wet laugh, “He was like… your Guardian Angel.”
“That was horrible Richard. Not funny at all.” Yet Damian could feel a soft smile pulling at his lips, “But yes. He was.”
“It’s his Bruncle instincts.”
Damian frowned, “Bruncle?”
Dick grinned “Brother-uncle. Since you see me as your Baba .”
he groaned and shoved Dick out of his pet cuddling area, “Nope. That’s it. You do not get any more speaking privileges for the rest of the day.” though he could feel a warmth spreading across his chest.
“Come on-”
“Nope. Bye! Bye!”
“But–”
“Goodnight, Baba .”
And Damian could see Dick completely melt, “Goodnight, Bibic.”
The first thing Jason did after he stormed upstairs was grab his journal from the hidden drawer in his dresser. Screw Bruce, he was going to figure out what happened to him.
The only problem was the dates only went to April 25, 2018. He didn’t even finish the notebook. The entries didn’t seem like something was wrong–
Sheila Haywood .
There was a gun pointed at his back as betrayal and shock sunk into his stomach. “I lied.”
A blonde woman turned away from him while lighting a cigarette.
He read through the page. Sheila Haywood was…his mom? But what about his Mami? The one who raised him? Does that make her his step-mom?
Jason scrambled back to the drawer to take out a pen and flipped to the next page. He was going to figure this out.
First off, Bruce was a lot colder. Like close to Kelvin cold.
Second, all the scars. There’s a certain amount of scars that made sense for whole vigilante gig, but the amount he had was closer to the amount torture victims had.
Third, If Ms. Haywood was his mom, is Jason in her custody now? Well, he’s 20, so probably not currently, but did he have to leave Bruce? Is that why his room is pretty much the same?
Fourth, Why was he at the League of Assassins? If he asked Damian would he give him a straight answer?
He heard footsteps coming down the hall, and almost immediately jumped up. And then relaxed when he realized they were Dicks, and they were stopping at the room before his.
He crept closer to the wall to try to catch the words.
“...But I- I guess they put him in the Lazarus Pit…”
Oh.
Guess he had his answer to number four. Though why would he need one? Did it have to do with number two? Maybe number two should be number one, but he’d already written in pen.
That also probably answered why his eyes were more green than blue. And the white streak. It did feel a bit too emo for him.
He heard a laugh come from the other side of the wall and felt a twinge of jealousy flare in the pit of his stomach. Sure, he and Dick had their good moments, but it wasn’t usually that easy. There was still tension that loomed over any attempts of brotherly bonding. Sometimes Jason wishes Bruce actually introduced him to Dick before he took up the mantle of Robin, because maybe then they’d be closer brothers.
“Goodnight, Baba.” And just like that a wave of guilt washed over him because he had thoroughly misinterpreted their relationship. Jason honestly thought Damian was Bruce’s. They had very similar facial structures.
And then there was a knock at the door, before it slowly opened, “Hey, Jason–”
“I didn’t realize you were Damian’s dad.”
Dick just gaped like a fish, “I– what?”
“I was under the impression Bruce was the kid’s dad, baba.” Jason swatted Dick with the back of his hand.
“Oh.” Dick laughed, “No. He’s Bruce’s. He’s also twelve.”
“So?” Jason shrugged, “You’re like, 30. It’s possible. And why else would he call you Baba?”
“Stop calling me old! I’m 27! Also, your math makes that barely legal.”
“‘Barely legal’ does not stop Talia Al-Ghul.”  Jason frowned. He thinks he was 18 when that happened. “Hold up, I’m not 18 yet.”
Dick was suddenly standing ramrod straight, “Excuse me, what?”
That was his scary voice. Abort, abort, abort , “Why was I in the Lazarus Pit?”
“How much of our conversation did you catch?”
“I zoned out after Lazarus.”
Dick crossed his arms and huffed, “No, we’re going back to Talia–”
“Is Bruce depressed because he lost custody of me to Sheila Haywood?”
And that seemed to send a slap across Dick’s face, “How do you know about Sheila Haywood?”
Jason crossed his arms “I’m a detective, Dick.”
Except so was Dick, and he immediately spotted the journal on Jason’s bed. “It was in your journal?”
Jason nodded.
“What’s the last date in there?” Dick sat down on the edge of the bed.
Jason went to go sit next to him. “April 25, 2018”
Dick nodded, his normally clear blue eyes looked stormy.
“Something bad happened, didn’t it?”
Dick looked like he was contemplating something, and then turned to face Jason, “I’m only going to tell you this because I know if your older version was here he would tell you.” Dick took a deep breath, “You would say, “I ain’t tellin’ you shit, you don’t need to know.” You would do that while leaning against a wall or something.”
Jason blinked at Dick, because that buildup was rude. “I wouldn’t say that! Also, it’s me . I would tell a younger version of me every moment of my life. I’m pretty sure an older version of myself would too.”
“Look, Jason, I was in space at the time. I don’t know all of the details, and Bruce never felt like filling me in on it.”
“What about the report?”
“Ok, yeah, I’ve seen it, but you know the reports are nothing like actually being there, or hearing the story. And it’s never something you or Bruce want to talk about. You’ll probably get the memory back once you’re back to full size.”
Jason huffed and pulled himself into his sheets. “You’re no longer my favorite sibling. You are dead last. Getting my hopes up that you would give me an answer. That was just cruel.”At least he knew there were reports on the bar computer about what happened. He could sneak down there and figure this out himself.
“Eh, fifth place is not that bad.” Dick stood up, “or are we counting Stephanie?”
“Doesn’t matter. You’re still in last.” Jason turned over to face Dick as he was leaving, “Though, I do accept bribes.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Goodnight, Little Wing.”
“‘Night, Dickiebird.”
