These HCs are based on the assumption their S/O has a good or at least okay relationship with their parents. Parental-figures could be substituted in if that helps anyone picture themselves in these scenarios ^.^

Rex, Echo, and Crosshair would be hella nervous. They don't understand parent dynamics, don't know how to act around them. They default to being stiff and formal, like they're addressing a high ranking soldier. Sirs, ma'ams, the whole bit. They sweat a lot, blush a lot... laugh awkwardly at jokes, constantly apologize... unsure where to stand or what to do with their hands.... They'll need their partners to give cues on how to behave, and it'll take several meetings before they grow more comfortable.

Cody, Tup, and Wrecker have been waiting for this moment for ages. They'd heard all about their S/O's parents and what an important part they'd played in their lives, so they can't wait to finally meet them and develop a relationship themselves. They'll be very warm and genuine in their interactions, nothing they say ever feels like it's forced or shallow. They are an instant favorite and by the end of the meeting, it feels like they've always been part of the family.

Dogma, Hardcase, and Tech didn't realize "meeting the parents" was a big milestone in a relationship, seeing as they don't have any parents of their own, so for the first meeting they're calm, cool, and collected. This ends up getting them into the parents' good graces easily. But once the meeting is over, and they see their partner so relieved that it went well, they'll understand the significance and worry will settle in. Subsequent meetings won't be as composed or casual with this newfound knowledge.

Fives, Kix, and Jesse are really hamming it up, big time. They did their research on how to impress the parents, charming things to say, presents to bring, etc. It works a little bit, but at a certain point it becomes just a little too much and a little too fake. Their partner will have to whisper explanations to their parents about what's going on, why they're acting like the hunky neighbor from a soap opera. They just really, really want to be liked. Over time, they'll learn it's best to just be themselves.

Wolffe, Fox, and Hunter are very relaxed, as they're used to being under pressure as soldiers. They know their S/O's parents are important people to meet, and they'll want to reassure they are a good person for their child to be dating. But they also know it won't do to show their nervousness, or to try and overcompensate. Only when the meeting is over and they are alone with their S/O do they express their anxiety, unwarranted due to how much the parents ended up loving them.

Things I Love About the Shitty Live Action Resident Evil Movies

So, it was my birthday recently and my roommates asked if I wanted to do anything fun. My response, of course, was to suggest getting drunk and watching the live action Resident Evil movies and like, damn, I love those stupid ass movies so much. So I wanted to make a really dumb (and lengthy) post about the goofy things I like, whether for legit or meme reasons.

Y'all, I know they're bad, that is, in fact, why I love them.

1 - The opening is genuinely kinda freaky, like, the elevator scene? Oof, well done suspense

2 - Michelle Rodriguez. That's it, that's the post.

3- The LASER ROOM - so iconic they used it in the games. The first movie came out in 2002, RE4 then used the laser room in 2005, like, y'all, they took that from the goddamn movie, that's how much of a vibe it was

(And honestly, just the Red Queen in general, what an absolute icon, love that her appearance changes in every movie she's in)

4 - Alice is the most fanfic Mary Sue character I've perhaps ever seen on-screen, and I love that for her. Look at her kicking this zombie dog in the face, it's hilarious

5 - Pretty game-accurate costuming? I can dig it

6 - They're gay, your honor

7 - Bad CGI on the Licker, I would expect nothing less

8 - Alice is at her most powerful when she finds a white bathrobe just lying around somewhere

9 - Raccoon City gets destroyed in the course of, like, a day if I'm understanding the timeline right. Like, first infection to nuking the city seems to be about 24 hours. Incredible.

10 - Leon fucking wishes he was Alice, miss ma'am out here driving motorcycles into buildings and then launching them at a monster just to shoot it and blow it up.

(Special mention for another "they're gay, your honor"

11 - You'd think the kid they have to rescue from Raccoon City is Sherry, wouldn't you? An Umbrella scientist's daughter who the gang have to save? NOPE it's Angela Ashford. Not to be confused with the game's Alexia Ashford. Is it an easter egg? A botched cameo? IDK bro, you think they know the lore?

12 - "GTA MOTHERFUCKER" - LJ, before running over a zombie

13 - THEY GAVE NEMESIS A REDEMPTION ARC??? Incredible (not before making him and Alice fist-fight each other)

14 - Keeping with RE tradition, the helicopter almost always crashes.

15 - They just decided, fuck it, let's give Alice superpowers. Also the stupid Umbrella eyes, literally whenever they come up.

16 - The third movie is just Mad Max and Fallout: New Vegas merged together. Also the way they say the whole earth withered and died but later movies very clearly show flora still alive

GAP the Series Ep 5 Stray Thoughts

Last week Mon was accepted into the confidences of Sam's friends, and was given guidance on how to read Sam's moods and responses. We learned that Sam's public persona is artificial and managed by the friends, and we also confirmed that Sam very much likes Mon. Bestie and I gushed over how good everyone looked all episode, and really liked the long pink coat Mon wore.

I still can't believe Tee didn't hit on Mon's friend, Yuki.

I get Sam reflexively choosing to cut off Mon. Her friends may want to tease her, but she already lost both of her sisters because of her grandmother's homophobia and is definitely going to be reactive about losing control of a situation.

I love how we can tell how Mon feels by the intensity and detail of the pinks she's wearing.

Sam may be pissed, but she still came to slay.

I agree, Chin's shirt is too much.

Gosh, Sam is so pathetic. I love her so much. She's so scared of how much she likes Mon, and is so bad at expressing it.

It's kind of interesting how Becky speaks English words with a Thai accent when she's speaking Thai.

So, I'm five episodes in, having a blast. So I guess it's first impressions time.

Phryne - glorious and yes, definitely Jenny in the 20's (and did I mention how much I have always loved the 20's). Jenny needed some of those outfits, she'd have slayed. But I digress. So, clearly came from a poor background and a nurse during the war. Some troubling stuff has been hinted at and I guess we'll find out some day. I love the fact that she just does her thing and hang the rest. I love that she sees something (or someone) she wants and takes it (him). I am outraged at how many people seem to think that they can shoot at her, manhandle her and hit her with books, crow bars and the like. Up with this I shall not put! Anyway, she's 😍 Hard to pick a favourite moment but swinging off the back of a train was a highlight

Jack - I love his face, and yes, he has the same still-waters-run-deep feel as Giles, the same soft and somewhat sad face. Giles needs Jack's hats and that long coat, I swear to god!! But back to Jack. Also in the war, clearly not a good time :/ and now we have it, his wife has essentially left him. Damn that ending. They both know that's fucked that then 😭 Of course that won't stop them invading each other's personal space and sharing drinks and confidences, and generally driving each other (and me) insane. Not liking his wife that much right now 😡 maybe we'll get more on that. Anyway, he has a certain air of melancholy that I ALWAYS find attractive. Dot - sweeite, ridiculously brave, terrible clothes, good taste in men, a rock, possibly needs to stop praying for Hugh to turn Catholic lol NOBODY HURTS DOT I WILL COME DOWN ON THEM SO HARD 😡Favourite moment - manipulating Bert and Cec into working together, any time she gets embarrassed over Hugh

Hugh - sunshine, also a sweetie, love how Phryne is helping him look impressive in front of Jack (even though Jack is TOTALLY on to that). Probably needs to know when NOT to blurt out all the info to Phryne if he wants to continue to impress Jack (although he doesn't seem to mind that much in the end) Favourite moment - him seeing her with lipstick on, poor boy

Mr Butler - mind reader, ready for anything, has taken to Phryne remarkably well, could have been a bit of a cliched disapproving butler, so glad he's not, I like the slight hints at the relationship between him and Dot - Favourite moment - him having the right vase ready for the flowers

Jane - so glad she got adopted 😁 I love that Phryne backs her up and that Jane is a super sluth too. Nobody better come near her or I will throw hands! Favourite moment - giving Phryne the diary

Aunt P - As a long time fan of Miriam Margolyes I LOVE HER. MM does disapproval so well (which is hysterical given her personality - I was listening to Radio 4 recently when she was talking about Jeremy Hunt (the original rhyming slang), and I quote “The thing is, when I saw him there, I just said, ‘you’ve got a hell of a job, best of luck’. And what I really wanted to say was, ‘fuck you, bastard’. But you can’t say that!” I lmfao) Favourite moment - damn that's hard, any time she looks outraged by Phryne

Bert and Cec - I'll be honest, I don't know which is which but they're great guys, who I always enjoy, and Phryne definitely needs them watching her back!!!! Favourite moment - being hood winked into helping Phyrne move house

Favourite episode - possibly the train one (I'm not sure, was that 1x03? I don't know the titles in English I'm afraid). I mean it had the first no-understanding-of-personal-space moment that was 100% blatant IMO lol (although the 1x04 gratin moment diserves an honourable mention and elevates that entire episode 😁). tbh I've thoroughly enjoyed them all
