Bank Security Guard Danny AU
So, the People of Gotham are extremely desensitized to Rouge Attacks at this point. It got to the point that whenever a person gets a job at the Bank, they have a whole 1 Hour Training Video on how to deal with a Rouge Attack right.
So, when they hire a New Security Guard from a lesser known Security Company, they don't even bother showing him the Training Video. They assume that he'll either Die or Drop them within a Week.
Danny, for the record, did not know how bad the Rouge problem truly was. All he knew was that some random guy in a Ski Mask had just walked into the bank like he owned the place and started showing off a Gun telling everybody to get on the ground.
Danny did the sensible thing and Knocked him the Fuck Out.
Then, the same thing happened the very next day, but this time it was an entire group of people. Danny had them dealt with before the first person had gotten to the floor.
Then the same thing happened the Same Day!
By the end of the week he had become a Legend among the Citizens of Gotham. There was only a single Bank in all of Gotham that had avoided being robbed for a Whole Week, and it was all because of this one Security Guard who was freakishly good at his Job.
By the end of the Month, most criminals don't even bother trying that Bank anymore. It got worse when he got loaned out as Security for another Bank, and the same thing happened again.
Eventually, he ends up rotating shifts in Every Bank in Gotham, and it becomes a Game for the Criminals to see if the Bank they try to Rob is the one Danny is in that night. And they can't even reasonably predict his next location, since he always moves around at Random!
No matter what Bank he is in, he always manages to beat the Crooks trying to Rob the Bank.
Then it gets weird. Due to a scheduling Mix Up, Danny ends up being scheduled for 2 different Banks on the same day, each across the city from the other.
One Bank reports that Danny stopped a gang from Robbing them at 6:00 PM, which really confuses the other Bank because Danny did the same thing in their Bank at the same time. Security Footage proves it, Danny was somehow in 2 places at once.
They decide not to confront him about it, but they do test a theory. They intentionally hire him at multiple different Banks at the same time for a week. He shows up to work every time without fail.
By now they have basically confirmed that he must be a Meta, but they don't really care anyways. Now he can protect multiple Banks at once with his usual perfect Efficiency, and he'll be payed accordingly as well. The Banks get protected well, and he gets payed Extreme Overtime by the Banks, everybody wins!
Well...except for the Crime Bosses of Gotham.
Before this, it was a Game for them to try and beat Danny. They didn't really care since a single Uber Competent Security Guard was still perfectly fine for business, sure they would fail a Job once in a while if they ran into him, but he could only be in 1 place at a time. It wasn't a Huge Loss.
But now it was too much. They needed to take care of him.
Assassination Attempts didn't work. He was just as competent Off the job as he was On it, so they could never get to him.
They tried attacking his Bosses, but then they hired themselves to protect...themselves. It was hard to kill his Bosses when he was constantly Bodyguarding all of them at once.
Attempts to get to him through his Family were...let's not talk about that...
It continued on like this for a while.
...
Soooo...I don't know how to end this one.
Go ahead and put your own spin on this Prompt! The basic idea is that Danny is using his Duplication Power to get to every shift on Time, and he is really annoying the Local Crime Bosses.
What do you think?

Reborn as Dan Phantom.
A fan of the show is reborn as Dan, the evil version of Danny just as he was createdâ but what no one knew was a fangirl had taken over the body and knew just what to do to help her family that would suffer what she just went through unless she did something to help. Soâ she creeped towards Clockwork, stole the time medallion, went to the timeline of the original, and immediately took over as big brother figure to help these poor children from suffering the future they would have to endure alone without adult supervision.
Sheâ now heâ didnât care for gender, and just wanted to help and protect his new(ish) family from bad people. What he didnât know was he was also thrown alongside the dc universe, which was an awesome discovery on his part later on.
Danâ or Danteâ as he wished to be called, came to the group with sorrow in his heart as he explained what would happen in the future if Danny cheated on his test, not that it was anyoneâs fault but fates. He explained how no one was at fault and it could all be avoided if he could help it.
He took over the ghost fights, and had a long talk with Clockwork about what would happen and his real purpose for being there.
His original timeline was obviously erased, and the only reason he survived was because of the medallion, so later he had to go through ghost magic and make himself his own person, gained a whole butt load of tattoos intertwined with ghost time magic and becomes the next king of the infinite realms after defeating the old guy easily after seeing him beat up his little bro.
Dante became king instead of Danny and took over all the overloaded paperwork along the way.
What he didnât know, was that he would be summoned because of his status. He really thought the fan fictions were just exaggerating what would happen if he was ever given the position and power. Well, it was all true from what he read.
(Iâm making this a Dante/King Phantom x Jason Todd/Red Hood).
He made an actual legal identity for himself with the help of Technus and Tucker, who became better pals after they set aside the fact that they attacked each other at some point or another.
Danny became a little brother to him, Jazz became his little sister who likes to treat him as if he were still Danny at times, and Danielle became his daughter.
Dante legally adopted Dani after they got his papers in order, and made her an identity as well. Elle was much younger than he remembered, but then again, she was deaged recently and just came back into contact with the group, who couldnât take care of her because they were still children as well.
Vlad was still a little evil but leveled out after a huge diabolical involving Maddie, their so called mother.
Madeline Fenton had thought her son and daughter conspired with the ghosts and attacked them in their own home, Danny was greatly injured with multiple blast wounds and Jazz suffered a concussion while trying to push him out of the target zones.
Jack had football tackled Madeline and the rest was history.
Vlad had fallen out of love with her after seeing what she did to her own children, and instead got his head out of his butt and realized he was in love with Jack all along.
Jack divorced Madeline, took custody of his kids and decided they should move, all while Vlad made plans to take down GIW with Team Phantom.
Jack and Vlad met him and decided to emotionally adopt Dante as well in their messed up family.
Dante got a job as a mechanic and started his own business in Gotham. Very cliche from all the fanfics he read in his past life but he wanted to do something he knew and loved. He loved fixing things and his side job as the king of the infinite realms was basically being like a father to ghost children while scolding those who thought it was a good idea to attack innocent mortals.
He mainly spent his time raising Danielle. Giving her everything she deserves and making her happy now that his family was safe.
He was randomly summoned by the Justice League who were ready to full on attack him until they saw him reading to his child, not realizing he was summoned until someone cleared their throat. He was literally in his own little bubble, reading his two year old daughter a storybook while holding her against his chest as he floated above the ground, laid back in a relaxed position.
How it would go:
I looked up from the book after feeling a sudden shift in my surroundings, seeing multiple very brightly dressed people in front of me. I glared, shifting completely into my ghost king form while holding my daughter close to my chest. The storybook I was reading had disappeared into a pocket dimension for later, as I had to deal with this madness.
âWho in their right minds would summon the Ghost King? I literally burnt all those summoning books to ash.â I grumbled, and looked down to see Elle had slightly woken up at the sound of my deep voice.
âDada?â She mumbled, rubbing her right eye as she sat up from my chest.
âItâs alright, Elle,â I rumbled, kissing her forehead as she plopped back down to take her nap again at my reassurance. âWe can finish reading time later today.â I murmured to her as she went back to snoozing.
âWhat do you want, mortals?â I asked nonchalantly.
âWhy does the ghost king have a child? And how in the hell are you not attacking us as the books state?â Zatanna asked, looking on at me in shock.
âYou willingly want to be attacked after summoning me? Thatâs idiotic. â I state, looking bored with their conversation. I still held Elle close, not answering their questions about my child just yet.
âNo, a bloody idiot summoned you just as we defeated him as a last defense!â Constantine spat out, looking hysterical.
âWell, sorry to break the news, coward, but the last king was defeated by me after trying to take over the world, he is now locked away in forever sleep until we can find a way to get rid of him completely.â I explained to the coward looking at me in shock on the ground, bruises across his face and the usual weird looking villain costume on him.
I looked around for a quick second before stopping at the Batfam. Who were all here in a more relaxed formation seeing a child in my arms. My favorite fandom family in my last life.
I looked them over before spotting the Red Hood, my celebrity crush I had on him was no secret to my family, but they had no room to judge for themselves.
His aura admitted contaminated ectoplasm, and I knew I had to heal him sometime in the future.
âMay I ask what your goals are? And who is this child?â Superman spoke up after a moment of digesting my information about my new position.
âI protect both living and the undead. I donât have a world ending goal in mind, just to raise my daughter and give her the life she deserves.â I said, looking down at my daughter with a small smile that would be unnoticeable to most.
I looked back up to see the large group had softened at my words and I was about to ask a question about Red Hood, when my daughter suddenly decided this was taking too long and too much noise for her to take a nap.
âDada! Where puppy?â She demanded answers, smacking the side of my face with her chubby hands, as I floated there, unmoving with an emotionless face towards the group.
âCujo is with the twerp, remember? He will come by later for playtime.â I answered, which was slightly muffled as she squished my cheeks together and smiled at me happily.
âDada! Fishhââ she squealed out, looking happy with herself as she giggled at my face.
âYou gremlinââ I muttered out, tickling her sides as she squeaked, her flying out of my arms and turning into her young ghost form, looking ready to play.
âPlaytime?â She asked, bouncing a little in the air, clapping her hands a little.
âNot yet, blob ghost. We need to head back home for snack time.â I explained, crossing my arms as she pouted, my arm muscles bulged a bit as I crossed them, and I still always forget the fact that Iâm taller than most, alongside bigger. In my past life, I was a stick of a girl that had spaghetti arms, much different for sure.
Her pouting turned into the famous puppy eyes, and I turned back to the group to avoid them, only to see amused faces all around.
âDo you guys need anything before we head back? Iâm sure you donât want to deal with a Princess tantrum.â I rumbled out, looking on in disinterest as Elle decided to hug the side of my face like an octopus. She probably still had the puppy eyes on.
âYou have an adorable daughter!â Princess Diana exclaimed soon after I was finished speaking. âHow old is she?â She asked, looking at me curiously as I lowered myself to the ground, Elle now floating behind my head as she played with my low ponytail.
âShe is now two years old.â I answered, swiftly nabbing Elle from behind me while reaching the back of my head. I lowered my arms to see I had her upside down now, her hanging like a sack of potatoes as she giggled.
âDada!â Elle exclaimed, waving her arms around her in glee as she looked up at me.
âYou donât feel like a ghost completely⌠neither does she, what are you exactly?â Constantine asked, waving his hand at me in confusion.
âI donât know if I can trust you with that information, Constantine.â I growled a little, glaring at him as he stepped forward while Elle hid behind me.
âHey now! Letâs calm down, no one needs to start anything!â Nightwing stepped in front of the glaring Constantine who looked more and more like a bug the longer I looked at him.
âThere isnât anything to start, really. His soul is in shreds at the moment, not very powerful compared to my kind anyway.â I stated, crossing my arms once again as Elle peaked out from over my shoulder.
âNow, I need to speak with a Mr. Red Hood.â I said, looking on at the Batfam who tensed at my words.
âWhy?â Batman growled out, stepping in front of the confused Red Hood.
âTo heal him, of course.â I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose as I heard sounds of confusion from everyone else.
âHis ectoplasm is very corrupted. He has the ghost flu, in which case makes my kind very moody and in need of pure ectoplasm to filter it and his emotions.â I briefly explained, unpinching my nose as I looked up from the ground. Willing my headache away for now.
âSo his pit madness is basically the ghost flu?â Red Robin murmurs out hysterically, almost giggling in disbelief.
âYes, I have heard of his haunt, Crime Alley, that being under his protection, I have never stepped foot on his property because I didnât want to seem like a threat to a sick person who canât control themselves completely with such a sickness.â I explained myself a bit nervously, rubbing the back of my neck a little with my right hand as Elle now sat on my left shoulder, swinging her legs.
âWow, the ghost king is a dorkâŚâ I heard Spoiler mutter to Orphan, who nodded in agreement.
I huffed, crossing my arms and floated once again. âI can come back another time. I just wished to help a little. My doctor can probably fix him quicker than I, but I know what to do as I have studied under him for more than over a year now.â I informed them.
âSo the pit madness can go awayâŚ?â Red Hood asked, stepping from around Batman to speak to me clearly.
âIâm unsure of what this âPit Madnessâ is, but yes, I can heal you and make sure you properly get the help you need from your emotional roller coaster sickness.â I said, looking down at him as he took a few more steps to me, his family following behind him.
âWell, when can you fix me?â He asked, his voice modifier cutting all emotions from his voice, but I can clearly feel his emotions bursting from his almost formed core. It seems this sickness had stopped him from forming his core completely and left him sick for many years.
I could feel his hope, his rage and especially his bursts of want for some reason.
âI can fix you right now, but I wasnât sure if you wanted privacy or not. Itâs veryâŚ. Intimate. I can take you somewhere private if you would like?â I rumbled out, the burst of want came out more clearly, and I could tell Red Hood was clearly not expecting that word choice.
âTake me anytimeââ I could clearly hear his muttered out answer behind his helmet with my enhanced hearing, but I donât know if I was supposed to hear that.
âNope! Little Wingâ you are not going with the ghost kingââ Nightwing suddenly yelled out, the whites of his mask bigger as Spoiler, Red Robin, and Signal burst into loud laughter. Batman sighed loudly in disappointment. Robin just âTtâ and sighed alongside his father, looking like a mini bat. Orphan just smiled at me.
âBy intimate, I mean having a look at your soul, I will essentially have to take a closer look at that and cure you.â I fixed my words, making it seem as if I didnât hear anything and I could feel a little disappointment coming from Red Hood but he nodded at my explanation.

A Fang-tastic First Meeting
The Fenton household was unusually quiet as Danny sat on the living room couch. He was in a rare state.
Danny Fenton was alone.
Tucker was at a sci-fi convention, and Sam was basically being kidnapped by her parents to visit her cousins in Milwaukee. Danny would have happily volunteered to accompany either one of them if it wasn't for one problem.
His parents.
Jazz had a big college scholarship interview and she needed both of their parents to be there. Danny almost went with them but ghost hunting had been hurting his grades lately. Not a lot of time for homework when you're fighting the likes of Skulker all night.
So he had a mountain of extra credit assignments to cut through if he wanted to avoid summer school. Normally his parents would never even entertain the idea of leaving him home alone but there was just so much extra credit that Jazz assured them that he would be too busy to get into trouble.
Currently, he was taking a break. A fresh mind can do wonders for the task at hand.
The problem was that he was bored. Oh sure! He had his games and his movies to entertain himself but without friends to do them with it was a little hollow.
He thought about maybe surrendering to one of the mind numbing movies on television when a voice suddenly thundered throughout the room.
"DANIEL FENTON!!!"
Danny jumped off the couch out of reflex. He looked around but he couldn't tell where the voice was coming from.
"I mean you no harm, my boy. I'm a friend."
"Then prove it!" challenged Danny. "Show yourself!"
"If you insist."
Green smoke filled the room and spiraled into a single point. When it disappeared, there stood a man with a crystal ball. He wasn't a ghost but he did strongly resemble...
"Doctor Strange?"
"Oh my, no! Although I'm flattered you would compare me to someone so famous. I do think bare a striking resemblance to the actor but the very idea of someone like me in the movies is..." An almost devilish smile crossed his face. "Chilling."
Danny said everything he needed to through a raised eyebrow.
"Oh but look at me ramble on and on; you still have no idea what I'm here for. I'm well aware of who you are, what you are, and most importantly where your morals lay."
Danny shifted his eyes around nervously.
"Um ... I don't..."
"Oh Danny come off it, I know about the Ghost Portal accident and more importantly I know that you've been using your powers to protect people. There's very little you could hide from me and my crystal ball."
Danny's face went from nervous to serious immediately.
"Alright, fine. You know me. Let's say for the sake of argument that I believe that. Who are you, why are you in my house, and what do you want with me?"
"My name is Vincent Van Ghoul! And..." The man's face suddenly turned solemn. "I need your help."
Danny wasn't sure what to expect from this uninvited guest but a plea for assistance wasn't it.
"Or rather a friend of a friend needs your protection. Tell me Danny, I know you have evidence of the existence of ghosts but what do think about the idea of OTHER supernatural beings existing?"
"Like Big Foot?"
Vincent threw his head back with a hearty "HA!!!"
This little joke brightened his mood considerably. Vincent started to dance his fingers about his crystal ball, an image started to swirl inside.
"No my dear boy, I mean like ghouls, goblins, vampires, and werewolves."
Danny crossed his arms. "Let's just say skepticism is a luxury that's been denied me since birth."
"Oh Ho! You are quite witty when you want to be! Pleasantries aside, let's get down to business. The Mummy, the Wolfman, Dracula... these are but a few of the most powerful monsters in the world that are also well known to the public."
"The Universal Pictures monsters?"
"I suppose that's one way of looking at them. Just bare with me for a second, these monsters are also fathers!"
"Oh!"
"And you don't become one of the most powerful monsters in the world without making some dangerous enemies. One of which just so happens to be a ghost."
"Okay, now I think I see where this is going."
"You THINK you see, but you're wrong Young Fenton. Because this ghost is not of the Ghost Zone but a chest. A chest of Demons to be precise, once they held 13 of the most evil ghosts the world had ever seen but then some fools let them out accidentally. I thought we had rounded them all up but..."
"But what?"
"It's so embarrassing! I am indeed a powerful sorcerer but at the end of the day even I am still human..... sigh. I miscounted. We didn't round up thirteen at all. It was only eleven."
"And one of these ghosts from the chest had a score to settle with these monsters?"
"You're quick on the uptake. That's good! Yes, once upon a time one of these ghosts helped Dracula aquire his castle but the ghost got too greedy and Dracula, with the ironic help of some mortals, sealed him away into the Chest of Demons."
"But when he got out..."
"He wanted revenge, yes. However, he had learned not to directly confront Dracula, so he figured if he couldn't go through Dracula then he would go around him."
"Attacking those he held close."
"Like his daughter. Yes, you understand. Dracula's daughter, Sibella, isn't actually hurt though. She's been transformed... into a human."
Danny rubbed the back of his neck. "Okay, I did not see that one coming. So, exactly what do you need from me?"
"Well, the mortals that once opened the chest have reunited to hunt the ghost down. Dracula and his friends are even giving them as much monster aid as possible. It's only a matter of time before we find him but until then Sibella is vulnerable. Not only can she be killed now by mortal means, but she also has to adjust to life as a human for the time being. She needs someone not just to protect her but show her how the human world works. Someone, who walks in both the world of the humans and the supernatural."
Danny sighed and lowered his eyelids halfway. "I am so going to summer school."
Vincent smiled. "You'll help us then?"
"Well... That depends! How long would I have to look after her?"
"Oh not long at all. We're already halfway done tracking the culprit down. An evening at the most. I understand you live a busy life!"
"Busy nothing! You try explaining a strange unknown girl in the house to your parents when you're only fourteen!"
"Excellent point, my dear boy. All the more reason to get this started so I can return and help the others."
With a wave of his cape more green smoke appeared and a teenaged girl walked out of it.
She was about Danny's age, around his height. Her frame was long and slender, her hair was black and reached down to the lower part of her back.
"My name is Sibella. You must be Danny, I've heard so much about you. It's Fang-tastic to meet you!"
She held out her hand and Danny gave her a humored half grin.
"Fang-tastic huh?" Danny shook her hand. "If you're really into puns then maybe this won't be so bad after all."
"See? You two are hitting it off already! I'll be back after we've caught the scumbag!"
More of his green smoke appeared and swirled around him.
"Oh, but Danny? One last word of advice; she IS still Dracula's daughter so do try to be nice to her."
"If I can handle Sam on a bad day, then I think I can handle the daughter of Dracula."
"Quite right. Quite right! Have fun you two!" The smoke had almost disappeared but with the last little bit left, Vincent poked his head through for one last warning. "But not too much fun! Understand? Good!"
With Vincent gone, Danny was left alone. In his house. With no one but a single girl for company.
"So..." Danny desperately tried to kill the silence between them. "Dracula's daughter. What's that like?"
"Well I'd say it's no big deal but I did grow up in a literal castle."
"Like with a moat?"
"Yeah.......... You know I've met other ghosts but I understand that you're wired different?"
"Yeah, first off I am neither dead nor am I half dead. I am an ecto-infused human. The Ghost Zone Portal turned on with me inside and BAM...... ghost powers."
"Makes sense to me. Ectoplasm IS how ghosts who actually are the spirits of the departed remain in this world. Their souls have to latch onto something to stick around."
"Huh. That actually does make sense."
"Yes. I have this friend called Phantasma, she's practically made of the stuff... She never died either, otherwise there'd be no point sending her to a finishing school."
"There's a finishing school for monsters?"
"Ghouls if you want to get technical. Miss Grimwood's Finishing School For Ghouls, it's just the Bats!"
"Ha ha! A vampire pun! Fun!"
The two shared a smile. Not a romantic smile nor a flirtatious smile, just a genuine smile.
"Well my mom and dad did leave me a little pizza money. Are you hungry?"
"Famished."
"Or fang-ished?"
Danny was expecting a groan or maybe some disappointed criticism but to his surprise she actually grinned at the joke.
Without another word, the two entered the kitchen.
Sibella found her seat at the table while Danny got to the phone. Before he could start dialing the phone though, there was a very important question that needed to be asked.
"What kind of toppings do you want?"
"Oh nothing too special. Spider webs and rat tails should be good enough for me."
"... You're joking, right?"
"What? No! Isn't that what you humans eat? Just like us, right?"
Danny hung up the phone.
"No!! What you're suggesting is completely inedible for humans! Not to mention, probably tastes terrible!"
Sibella sat completely shocked.
"What about slimy salamanders? Toadstools? Fungus fudge?"
"What's fungu- nevermind. But, no. Humans don't eat any of those things because we CAN'T eat any of those things.... Not without getting sick anyways."
"What about crab apples? For pity's sake, tell me humans at least like crab apples!!"
Danny sympathetically shook his head 'No'.
"For us, that is literally poisonous."
Sibella held her head in embarrassed realization.
"No wonder our gym teachers didn't stick around."
Danny raised an eyebrow at her musings but didn't question it.
"This is why Daddy didn't want me sticking around the castle like this either. I'd be dead by dinner."
She looked up at Danny with a face pleading of mercy.
"Danny, do you think you could walk me through on how to eat like a human?"
Her big sad eyes nearly broke his heart but Danny knew they weren't necessary.
"Of course. We'll start you out small. We'll order you a simple pepperoni, but until it arrives how about I teach you about normal fudge? Because if there's one type of food the Fentons know, it's fudge."
______________________________________________________________
Later....
"Okay," began Sibella. "dealing with a whole new level of taste buds here. That food was actually Fang-tastic!"
Danny smiled at the reused pun. "Glad you liked it."
"What else is different for humans?"
"I'm guessing entertainment. I have a few games upstairs on my computer I could show you."
"Games? Are they like volleyball?"
"Uh no. Not really. Just follow me and I'll show you."
"You Bat I will!"
"Heh. Heh."
Danny started to lead her to the stairs when she spotted a mirror on the wall. Sibella jumped at the sight of her own reflection.
"Danny! Who is that girl?!"
"Huh? Oh! Right, vampire. That's just your reflection."
Sibella stared at it with interest.
"MY reflection? Me?"
"I know you were a vampire up until now but you had to know what you looked like, right?"
"Well, of course! Not through a mirror though, pictures never really worked either....... I was able to be successfully painted though."
"I guess that makes sense. Gotta know what you look like somehow."
"I've never seen myself in a mirror before though."
She gave herself a thorough inspection.
"I look different. A lot different!"
"Really? What did you look like before?"
"Purple. Purple skin. Purple hair. And of course fangs."
"Of course. Well, I don't think I can just leave you alone so are you going to follow me or should I get comfortable?"
"Oh no, I'll go with you. Just let me do one last thing."
Sibella fluffed up her hair and let it fall.
"I might not be Fang-tastic but I'm not Bat! Alright, let's go."
"Heh heh heh."
'Wow! Even though she's a vampire, she also has some normal girl habits. Who'd a thunk?'
______________________________________________________________
Danny's room...
Danny sat at his computer with Sibella overlooking his shoulder.
"Alright, I don't know what you monsters know about the digital age...." Sibella waved her hand from side to side in a so-so way. "but this is called a computer. Mine has some fun games on it and..."
Danny was cut off as a blue mist came out of his mouth.
"Danny?"
Danny stood up and took a battle stance.
"There's a ghost nearby. Get behind me!" Sibella did exactly that and Danny shouted his signature catch phrase. "I'm Going Ghost!"
White rings appeared around his torso and separated transforming him into Danny Phantom.
Sibella found herself oddly disappointed with Danny's ghost form. She thought he would look more like Phanty but instead he was like the negative photograph of his usual self. In her opinion, his human half looked better.
Danny waited silently and patiently for the ghost to show itself. And then..... It did.
"BEWARE!!!"
Danny visibly relaxed. "Oh, it's just you! I was almost scared there for a moment."
The Box Ghost was a nuisance at worst but it was usually a good idea to catch him anyways in case he accidentally ended up doing something dangerous. A fine example of this was when he stole Pandora's Box.
Sibella didn't know this person, but somehow she already felt annoyed with him. He didn't really resemble Phanty either.
"Who IS that?"
"Oh. Me?" The ghost looked almost flattered that she asked. "Nice to meet you. I AM THE BOX GHOST!!! Master of all things squared and cornered!!"
"He's just the Box Ghost. He's more of a chore than a threat."
"Let's see if you find THIS to be none threatening!!!"
The Box Ghost's hand glowed blue and made a motion with it. Danny's monitor glowed the same blue before flying off and hitting Danny in the back of the head.
"OW!!! Hey!!"
"DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE TERRIFYING BOX GHOST?! SHUDDER IN FEAR AS I..."
*ZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAP!*
A ghost ray shot out of Danny's hand sending the Box Ghost flying through the wall.
"This shouldn't take long. Sibella, think you could toss me that thermos on the table?"
She opened her mouth to ask a question but he cut her to the quick.
"No. It has nothing to do with soup."
Sibella didn't need to be told anymore than that and tossed it to him.
Danny saluted her a 'thank you' and phased through the room.
Sibella stood in Danny's room alone for a moment, unsure of what to do with the silence.
Then the Box Ghost came crashing in again, landing in a heap at her feet.
Danny phased in through the wall seconds later and pointed the thermos at the Box Ghost. A beam of light shot out of the thermos and enveloped the Box Ghost before sucking it in.
"How did you do that?" asked Sibella.
"Remember how I mentioned that my parents built a portal to the Ghost Zone? That's because they're scientists that study ghosts but they are also ghost hunters. This is one of their inventions to catch ghosts."
Sibella lightly grabbed the thermos and looked Danny in the face with sympathy.
"Do they.... Know?"
Danny looked away from her dejectedly. "No. And I would rather they don't know. Especially since they think my ghost half is responsible for some trouble that other ghosts have caused in town."
"Danny..."
"... I don't want to talk about it."
A silence was starting to develop between them but the sight of his computer smashed on the ground gave him an idea on what to do next.
"Since video games are now out of the picture, how about I instead show you what we do with caught ghosts?"
It was obvious that Sibella wanted to talk more about the problem with his parents but she wanted him to feel comfortable enough to talk about it first. So her answer was an understanding nod and a simple "Okay."
______________________________________________________________
The basement....
Sibella wasn't sure what to expect in the lab basement of confirmed ghost hunters but a giant swirling portal of ectoplasm wasn't it.
"Ah! Sibella, over here." called Danny.
Sibella joined Danny over by the portal watched him hook the thermos up to a device attached to the portal.
"Okay, now keep your eyes on the portal!"
A quick press of a button and the Box Ghost's image was seen in the swirl of the portal before disappearing down into it.
"And that's what we do with captured ghosts."
"You send them into this thing?"
"We figure that the Ghost Zone is where all these ghosts come from so we may as well send them back to it."
"What if they get out?"
"Oh they do. The Box Ghost is a common nuisance but I'm always here to put them right back."
"And when they do get out you capture them in this? The thermos?"
"Well... Usually. It's not like I just show up and shove them in the thermos, ya know? Some will only go down swinging."
"Mr. Van Ghoul said you hunted ghosts with your friends are they... Like you?"
"No. They're both human."
"Well forgive me for asking but if they're completely human then how can they help?"
"Well this thermos wasn't invented by me. It was invented by my entirely human parents. And it's not the only ghost hunting weapon they've come up with that packs a kick."
Sibella smiled. "Can you show me? Since the villain that did this to me IS a ghost, it would probably be a good idea to familiarize myself with some ghost hunting gear."
"... That does sound like a good idea. Okay..."
Danny brought over a cart filled with Fenton weaponry.
"My mom was giving these things a tune up but most of them should be good to go."
He held up some metal gloves. "These are the Ghost Gloves! Ectoplasmic powered gloves that can allow normal people to grab ghosts! No ghost can break their grip."
Sibella inspected the gloves but wasn't that impressed.
"Doesn't really feel like 'me'. Probably be great for a hands on girl, like my friend Elsa!"
"Ha ha. Elsa? Seriously? Is she..."
"No! Trust me! She is nothing like the Elsa from the musical!"
"Fair enough. Moving on... Okay this is the Fenton Weasel."
Danny held up the end of what looked like a vacuum cleaner.
"Like the Fenton Thermos, this is designed to capture and hold ghosts but only like...one per use. Unlike the thermos it doesn't really shrink anything so it can get pretty cramped in there. Trust me, I know."
"Probably not going to be very useful considering who we're up against."
"Right! Moving down the line we have the Fenton Fisher!" Danny held up what looked like a sci-fi retractable fishing rod. "The line is coated in a specially-tested ectoplasmic resin that ghosts can't break or escape from, though on several occasions, powerful ghosts have broken it."
Sibella didn't want to dismiss it but if more powerful ghosts had broken it in the past then it probably wouldn't hold up to a ghost from the Chest of Demons.
"Let's put that in the maybe pile."
"Probably for the best. It tangles like a nightmare."
Danny then held up two small devices that easily fit in his hand.
"The Fenton Wrist Rays. Wrist mounted weapons that shoot out ectoplasmic energy rays. They also happen to be a favorite of my friend Sam."
"You're friend has good taste! I love them already!!"
Danny tossed them to her.
"Great! Put them on, aim, and press the button."
Danny set up a couple of targets from his personal obstacle course.
"Now we're not trying to test your reflexes here so just shoot the targets when you're good and ready."
One by one little green ghost wooden cutouts would pop up and Sibella would shoot them one at a time. Then the one of Jazz popped up and Sibella waited for a moment and then zapped her too.
"Your aim's not bad."
"Or not 'bat'?"
"Heh. Heh. Heh. That's funny. See ya shot the cut out of my sister, don't blame you there."
"She was making a face at me."
Danny smiled. "I'm starting to like you more and more."
Sibella lightly blushed at the compliment.
"Okay, let's move on to some of the more heavy duty weapons."
From under the cart Danny brought out what could only be called a Sci-fi bazooka.
"This is the Fenton Bazooka. Unfortunately, like the other ones, this is being repaired. It usually packs a pretty big wallop and can even make lesser ghosts disappear. It used to have a portable Ghost Zone Portal option too but like I said..."
"Being repaired. Fair enough. What else is there?"
The next weapon that Danny got out looked like the love child between the last weapon and a vacuum cleaner.
"This is the Fenton Crammer. Designed to shrink ghosts in size and threat level."
"Does it work?"
"Almost a little too well. I got shrunk by it once and gradually started to lose my powers. That being said there is also a grow feature labeled as Uncram."
"... Let's keep that one but not as our first default."
Danny thought about it for a moment and agreed with Sibella's decision.
"Granted. Moving on..."
Danny then brought out a strange hand held device.
"This is the Fenton Peeler. It deploys a full set of armor to protect you and its laser can be used to injure ghosts and strip away ghostly disguises. Cutting away at all the layers to the ghost inside."
Sibella clapped her hands together.
"Danny, that sounds perfect!"
"Well, let's see how you do with it then."
Sibella took the gadget from Danny and aimed it like a gun.
Danny almost laughed at the sight. "No. No. First you need to deploy the armor before you can shoot anything. Here, let me help you."
Danny got in close and helped guide her thumb to the right button.
Danny then noticed that they were almost cheek to cheek and stepped away with a blush. He wasn't sure but he was almost certain she smiled at the close vicinity they had.
"Ahem! Now just hold the Peeler out as far as your arm will go and press the button."
After one little *CLICK!*
metal coils stretch out from the device, wrapping around her arm, continuing onto her body until she was covered from helmet to toe in armor.
Because the armor was one size fits all, like Danny said, he couldn't help but notice that her frame was a little more curvy than it would be for Sam or Jazz. Oh that wasn't to say her form wasn't still slender but there were bound to be things Danny would notice as a fourteen year old heterosexual boy. Things he would often get chastised for by Sam.
Sam.
This entire time Danny hadn't even thought of Sam. He wondered what she would say about Sibella?
Danny wanted to believe that Sam would be happy to have another spooky friend but even he was starting to feel some electricity between him and Sibella.
And so what if he did?!
Sam was a friend. They weren't married. And if Sam was really the modern woman she claimed to be then didn't that mean she had every bit as much right as him to make the first move?
There was a few things to unpack there but no matter what way he sliced it, he and Sam were just friends. Could they be more than that? Maybe one day... but at the moment it was just friendship.
And friendship certainly wasn't what Danny was picking up that he was feeling with Sibella.
They were both free agents so Danny decided to just let the situation happen. Whatever happened, happens.
Sibella seemed very happy from behind the helmet's visor. She was looking over her body and then turned to Danny with a question.
"Does this armor make my butt look fat?"
Danny laughed again.
"Not at..." Danny was cut off as a blue mist came out of his mouth.
Before Danny could utter any kind of warning, a square stone block shot out of the portal and hit Sibella in the gut
"SIBELLA!!!"
A huge stone hand shot out of the portal and onto the ground. It got a good grip on the floor and more of the ghost pulled itself out of the portal.
What followed was not entirely what Danny had expected. In that it was not an 'entire' body. It was made entirely out of rock but it was missing the lower half for the body.
Just two arms, a chest, and a head. All made of square stone blocks. They were green and covered in algae, moss, and fungus. They looked downright unpleasant to touch, one might even call them grimy.
Danny had already placed himself between the ghost and Sibella.
"Sibella, are you okay?!"
"Yes! The armor took the blunt of the blow!"
Danny turned to the new ghost with glowing hands.
"Who are you?!" demanded Danny.
Sibella got to her feet and stood behind Danny. Given how her armor was sparking from where she got hit, this was probably a good idea.
"I'm GRIME STONE!!!"
The ghost pounded his fist on the ground making Danny and Sibella jump in the air a little.
Now that she was on her feet, Sibella recognized the ghost almost immediately.
"Danny, that's him! That's the ghost that did this to me!"
Danny stared at the ghost in disbelief. "You're the ghost from the Chest of Demons?"
"YES!!! And after all these years I will soon have my revenge!!"
Danny's hands glowed a little brighter. "What did Dracula even do to you?! What warrants THIS much revenge?!"
"I built Dracula his castle and in exchange we were supposed to rule together!! But when I said that I wanted to kill the villagers, he went and betrayed me!! I knew I couldn't beat him directly, but with some runes I learned of I knew I could make him SUFFER!! I turned his daughter human but before I could finish the job, that JERK with the crystal ball showed up and spirited her away!!"
Danny and Sibella were slowly and subtly making their way back to the stairs but never broke eye contact with Grime Stone.
"And then you hid in the Ghost Zone?" asked Danny.
"It was the one place nobody expected me to hide! Who would think to look for a Non-Ghost Zone ghost in the Ghost Zone?!"
One of his square stone blocks rolled itself off of his body and showed a rune to Danny. It fired off a small red fireball that almost took off Danny's head.
"In case you haven't figured it out, runes are kind of my thing!" The stone rolled itself back onto Grime Stone's body and the ghost reeled back his fist for a punch. "SECOND ONLY TO MURDER!!!"
Danny picked Sibella and dodged the fist by making them intangible.
*SMASH!*
Danny flew Sibella up, phasing them both through the roof. Danny took them out to the streets where he set her down.
"So THAT'S the guy?!" asked Danny.
"There's no mistaking it! He surrounded me with a whole circle of stones with those runes and then zap!"
*CRASH!*
Grime Stone broke through the walls of Fenton Works creating a giant gapping hole.
"Hey!! Come on now!!" snapped Danny. 'Do Non-Ghost Zone ghosts not have the ability to go intangible? This could get messy. Fast!' thought Danny.
*BZZZZZZZZT!*
A long laser beam shot out of the muzzle of the gadget and hit Grime Stone. It must have been doing at least some damage because he was holding up his hands in an attempt to protect himself from it.
"How did you know how to fire it?" asked Danny.
"Well I don't have Bats in my Belfry, Danny. I figured it had to be the only other button on the thing."
"Okay, I guess that one's a given."
A few more sparks flew out of Sibella's armor and the beam stopped.
"Sibella, do you have a way to contact Vincent Van Ghoul?"
"Yes! He gave me a crystal ball just in case something like this happened! I don't think Grime Stone is going to give us a chance to use it though!"
"You run inside and use it! I'll keep Boulder Breath busy."
"But Danny..."
"I can handle it! Now run!!"
The Fenton Peeler armor retracted back into the device giving one final big spark.
Grime Stone was busy trying to get the stone cubes of his body to stop smoking so he didn't even notice Sibella running past him into Fenton Works.
*ZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!*
A ghost ray to Grime Stone's face earned Danny his full attention.
A menacing glare from the ghost from the Chest of Demons was sent right to the ghostly protector floating above him.
"Hey Blockhead!! Come at me if you think you got the stones!!"
Grime Stone threw a square stone block from his body at Danny but he blasted it to pieces. Another stone block took the place of the one thrown.
'I don't think he can make more... I play this right then maybe I can wear him down.' thought Danny.
"What even ARE you?!" demanded the limestone built ghost.
"The name's Phantom. Danny Phantom! I protect this town from evil ghosts like you!"
"...ALL I WANT IS THE GIRL!!!'
"Tell that to the hole you made in my house!!"
Grime Stone looked back and saw the giant hole he had created from the basement up. He turned back to Danny and waved his stone hand nonchalantly. "Semantics."
"Listen, grudge or not! I am NOT going to let you hurt that girl! So just give up now or I'll turn you to rubble!!"
Grime Stone let four of his stone blocks fall to the ground, rolling until they stopped with red runes facing Danny.
"You and WHAT ARMY?!"
The runes glowed brightly and then fired at Danny. Each one was firing something different however; one was a straight laser beam, another was jagged like a lightning bolt, the third let loose a barrage of energy arrows, and the final one lashes out like a flailing whip.
They were all red and Danny nearly dodged them all but the whip one managed to wrap itself around his ankle.
Danny shuddered in revulsion at the feel. It was like being grabbed by an eel coated in slug slime.
However, this grotesque feel couldn't help but make Danny wonder if a certain counter tactic would be optional with it.
He shot a ghost ray where it connected with his ankle, cutting it off. Grabbing the end of it, he charged up some of his own ghost energy and threw a shockwave down it.
"Go Ghost Stinger!!"
The green energy traveled all the way down the whip until it hit the rune, shocking it. The stone cube rocked and crackled with green energy and to Danny's surprise, so did Grime Stone.
Eventually the attack ran its course and Grime Stone's entire body was left smoking. This gave Danny a theory.
He experimentally shot a ghost ray at one of the other rune stones. When it hit its mark the stone flew back slightly damaged.
"YOOOW!!!"
Grime Stone held himself as if he had just gotten shot.
"That's it. The runes are his weak spot!"
As Grime Stone focused on recovering to best of his ability, Sibella ran out with some of the ghost hunting gear. Danny floated down to the ground to meet her.
"I called Vincent, he and the others should be here shortly. Problem is another one of the Thirteen Ghosts crossed their paths and they're busy trying to wrangle that one into the chest."
"That's fine! I think I discovered Grime Stone's weakness! His connection to the runes is a two way street! We attack the stones with runes on them and we might be able to power him down!"
"That's great news, Danny! I noticed that the Fenton Peeler only had some effect on him though so I brought out some of the other weapons instead!"
"I don't know if we can just thermos this guy, but if we can weaken him enough by hitting him in the runes..."
Sibella held up the Fenton Crammer. "We can shrink his pieces down with the Fenton Crammer..."
"And then put his pieces into the Fenton Thermos one at a time, catching him!" Danny and Sibella finished in unison.
Danny and Sibella smiled at each other.
Danny had taken Sibella to new parts of herself she didn't even know existed, so he was leaving quite the impression on her.
Sibella was a quick learner and synced up with Danny's line of thinking faster than anyone he had ever met, so she was leaving an equally large impression on him.
Grime Stone waved his hand and a bunch of the stones with runes shot off at them.
Four of them landed around Danny and Sibella. When their runes started to glow, Danny made Sibella duck thus having their blasts fly harmlessly overhead.
As expected, each one was shooting something different. These four had a gust of wind, projectile limestone blocks of equal size as the shooter, red energy construct daggers, and one that shot out large wooden stakes.
Danny's foot glowed green and in spinning ectoplasmic sweep, he kicked them all away.
Grime Stone, for whatever reason, was set on letting his rune stones do his fighting for him. He threw two more at them, one landing near Danny.
The runes started to glow red and Danny threw up a small ecto-shield to protect his face. Instead of whatever Danny was expecting, the block shot out some red slimy goop that completely covered his feet.
He tried to free himself by making his feet intangible but the goop still held him firm. Sibella shot it with the Fenton Wrist Rays and it started to harden on contact. A firm pull and Danny shattered the goop, freeing his feet.
The stone got ready to fire again but Danny tackled Sibella away. They tumbled away on the ground for a little bit until they're momentum stopped and Danny ended up on top of Sibella.
They both stared at each other with widened eyes and large blushes on their faces. However, they couldn't really process the moment much more than that as another stone block near their heads started a power up glow.
Danny quickly shoved them apart and a red geyser of water shot out from the stone.
Danny landed a few feet away where he spotted a stone with a familiar tune on it.
The same stone that shot the fireball at him earlier tumbled over to him and shot another fireball. This time it was stopped by an ecto-shield but Danny already had enough of the block.
Danny shot a ghost ray at the stone directly in the runes. As Grime Stone winced in pain, Sibella walked over with the Fenton Crammer and shrunk the stone to the size of a pebble. She then picked it up and dropped it into the thermos.
"AAAAAGH!!!" Grime Stone let out a shriek of surprise as he felt his connection to the stone being completely cut off.
The former vampire and the halfa smiled at each other. A smile that Grime Stone didn't trust for a minute.
Entering a whole new level of fear, Grime Stone ran on both hands to retrieve his stone cube blocks from the new danger.
Feeling the ground quake from the weight of his giant stone hands, Grime Stone's charge was impossible not to notice.
"Danny, we need to do something quick! He's getting closer!"
Danny rubbed his green hands in preparation. What he was about to try was not necessarily new but on a much grander scale.
"Okay, bear with me for a second."
Concentrating hard, Danny put up a giant green ecto-dome forcefield around them. It was most likely the biggest he had ever produced, but it was big enough that it covered both he and Sibella with the remaining stone cube blocks. It also had Grime Stone outside so he couldn't physically interfere with their plan. Of course this didn't stop him from pounding on it with his stone fists in attempt to break it.
Danny fell to the ground, winded but still conscious.
She offered him a helping hand and Danny gave her a tired smile.
"I don't know how long this thing will hold, especially with him pounding on it, but it should give us the freedom to finish the job."
Now back on his feet, Danny took a breath and straightened up.
The two quickly found a process to dealing with the runes stone blocks. Danny would shoot one with a ghost ray, Sibella would shrink it, and they would alternate on who would put it in the thermos.
Things were going so well that Danny couldn't resist the urge for small talk.
"So... What are you into?"
"Volleyball."
Danny playfully rolled his eyes at the repeated news.
"I think you might have mentioned that before. What else are you into?"
Sibella had to give this question more thought than she would have guessed.
"Well... Sometimes I do a little ballet."
Danny couldn't help but smile. The thought of a blood sucking monster of the night in a tutu was hilarious. He couldn't help but laugh a little.
"A vampire ballerina? There's a pun in there somewhere!"
Sibella didn't seem offended by Danny's jab at all. If anything, she also saw the humor in it.
"I'm sure we could find it. What about you? When your not fighting evil ghosts or playing on your computer, what do you do?"
Danny shrugged as they put away their third stone cube block.
"I mostly hang with my friends Sam and Tucker. I am really into NASA though."
Sibella furrowed her brow in confusion.
"NASA?"
Danny knew she grew up in a world of monsters, but he couldn't believe Sibella didn't know what NASA was.
"Space. I want to be an astronaut when I grow up."
"What's an astronaut?"
With two more blocks away, Danny stared at her in disbelief.
"Someone who travels into space! How could you not... Wow. I guess ghouls really are in the dark about human society."
Sibella shrugged as they put away another stone.
"... I guess I just don't understand the appeal."
"Don't understand the... We've been to the moon!!"
Sibella stopped for a moment and looked at Danny incredulously.
"... Wait. Really?"
"Yes!! Neil Armstrong actually WALKED on the moon! And Buzz Al-You know what? If we finish this up in a hurry maybe I can show you."
Sibella let out a humored grunt and got back to shrinking the rock.
"It'll have to be on something that isn't your computer."
In all the excitement, Danny had actually forgotten that he had lost a computer. Of course it didn't compare to losing a wall to his HOUSE but still.
"Oh... Right. You might have a point there."
With Danny's mood turning down casted, Sibella decided to change the subject.
"I also like physical exercise like jogging."
Admittedly, jogging and exercising wasn't usually on Danny's mind but if being more fit could help improve himself like when he trained with Dash for the President's fitness test...
"You know, maybe a little more stretching of the limbs could help with my ghost fighting. Might be nice to do it with a familiar face..."
Sibella saw what Danny was subtly trying to do and was only too happy to accept it.
"I'd be happy to have you!"
With the last of the stone cube blocks sucked up, Grime Stone was looking a lot worse for wear. He had fallen to his hands, struggling to get up.
Danny lowered the shield and put a hand on Sibella's shoulder.
"You're the one he's been after this whole time. It's only fair for you to catch him."
Sibella smirked and pointed the thermos at Grime Stone the same way Danny had pointed it at the Box Ghost. A beam of light shot out of the thermos and enveloped Grime Stone completely.
"N-N-Noooooooo...."
Grime Stone was sucked into the thermos and Sibella firmly closed the lid on it.
"Ooooh! That IS satisfying. I can see why you and your friends do this............ If you ever see my friend Phanty, please don't tell her I said that."
"Ha ha. Consider it a promise. I don't really think I can keep you safe at my house anymore with a giant hole in it. So what would you say if I treated you around town until Vincent and your dad got here?"
Sibella was about to agree to it when some familiar green smoke appeared from thin air and started to swirl around in front of them.
Danny wasn't sure but he thought he heard Sibella mutter something about a "Date blocking sorcerer."
Vincent Van Ghoul appeared once more with his crystal ball but he wasn't alone this time. Standing next to him was a tall purple man that Danny could only assume was Sibella's father, Dracula.
"Awfully sorry we weren't able to get here sooner kids, but a certain Great Dane... Oh. What's all this now?"
Sibella handed the thermos to Vincent.
"We caught your ghost." Danny explained. "He was powerful...and tricky, but working together we got it done."
Vincent took the thermos, and pulled out a sticky note pad. "Well this turned out better than I ever could have hoped!" He wrote something on a sticky note, attached it to the thermos, and made it disappear in a puff of green smoke.
"My people will toss that thermos into the Chest of Demons right away! That alone should be enough to break Sibella's curse."
Danny walked up to Dracula. He found it ironic how he looked more human than Vlad Plasmius.
Danny offered his hand to the vampire king.
"Nice to meet you, sir. You have a very bright, capable daughter. You should be very proud."
Dracula shook his hand.
"I am always proud of her, but you young Fenton... I owe you a debt. If you ever need a favor, you have but to ask and I will give you my very Bat."
Danny laughed at the pun and Dracula appreciated that he got it.
"Well now that you mention it, there is the little matter of the collateral damage done to my house... That ghost was strong but he was reckless too."
Dracula looked at the hole in Danny's house and found himself unimpressed.
"Child's play! With my ghouls and resources, I can have this repaired in a couple of hours." He gave Vincent a knowing smile. "Especially with a little magic to cut down on traveling?"
Vincent rolled his eyes. "Oh fine. Fine. I suppose we owe the lad that much."
Everyone's eyes turned to Sibella as she suddenly started having body spasms.
"Sibella!!! Vincent, what's happening to her?!"
To Danny's surprise, Vincent and Dracula were completely calm about what was happening to his new friend.
"Something good. This means the humans I sent the thermos to have tossed it into the Chest of Demons."
"That means the spell is broken." explained Dracula. "And my daughter is changing back to her usual beautiful batty self."
In a puff of black smoke, the human Danny had befriended was replaced with a vampire version of her.
"Wow. You weren't kidding about the purple. If you don't mind my saying so, I think I like your hair better this way. Looks longer and more like it could flow better. Like a cape but somehow better."
From the look on Sibella's face, she didn't mind at all.
The reality of the situation settled in by itself all too quickly though. With Sibella back to paranormal and the threat neutralized, there was no reason for her to stay.
Everyone there could feel it was time for sad departures.
"I guess this is goodbye." Sibella sadly stated.
Danny gave her a vulnerable smile.
"Maybe we'll meet again? I can show you my telescope and we can star gaze with it. I can show you why I think space is so great."
Sibella smiled at him flirtatiously.
"Consider it a date.
Dracula immediately placed himself between his daughter and the young halfa.
"Okay, that's enough." Dracula picked up Sibella and started to carry her away under his arm. "Any kind of 'dating' that MY little princess will do will only happen AFTER the school year at Grimwood's, and even then only WITH my Hunch Bunch supervising."
Sibella didn't even seem to mind. Instead of objecting she just waved goodbye to Danny with a face of 'Parents. What can you do?'
Danny waved back with a humored nod of understanding.
Dracula placed her between Vincent and himself as green smoke started to swirl around them to take them away.
"Daddy, how soon do you think I can see him again? He was more than just Fang-tastic, I might go out of my way to say that he was Phan-tastic!"
Dracula didn't say a word in response to her but sent a glare to Vincent.
"This is all your fault."
Vincent was taken back by Dracula's accusation.
"Me? What did I have to do with it?"
"He was your idea, wasn't he?!"
The smoke had completely covered them by now, Danny couldn't even see them anymore.
"To keep her safe and protected. And that's exactly what he did, I can't help it they fell for each other a little bit."
"... She is too young to date!"
"Oh for pity's sake, just let your child grow up!"
They were almost completely gone now but one last word echoed through to Danny.
"Never!!"
The smoke dissipated and there wasn't any sign of them. All Danny could think of was one thing.
"Tucker is never going to believe this one."
The End.

Your top 5 relationships (not just romantic ones, anything!) in The West Wing?
... OK in writing this i realize i could do top 15 and still not be done. Thank you for the question and sorry for the ramblings:
1. Charlie and President Bartlet. 'He gave him the kniiiiiife'. Seriously, the father-to-son-he-never-had. How protective Charlie is of Bartlet, like when he realized that basically his girlfriend was a reporter he dropped her in a SECOND. "He's not just the president". Charlie faffing around to avoid graduating from COLLEGE so he could serve the President. Man was in such a hurry to graduate he did half of college while in high school, and slammed on the brakes to stay with Bartlet. The Knife! And the watch! Basically saying "i love you like a son" SO many times.
2. Josh and Donna. I mean. Every episode? How Janelle decided from the beginning to play Donna as if she was in love with Josh. "If you were in an accident I wouldn't stop for beer.". "If you were in an accident I wouldn't stop for red lights". And they were fighting at the time! Or at least Donna was super hurt! And she still said "i love you too and I love you more". Or at least was more aware of the fact that she was in love with Josh than Josh was aware of being in love with Donna. I don't think he really REALLY knew before she left to work for Russel. He just took her for granted kinda. And how she took care of him in Noel. And was the first to notice. And helped him with the MS!
3. Josh and Sam (I love Josh). I love Rob Lowe, he was the perfect foil for Josh. The fireplace! Josh flying out three times to get Sam to work for two separate president's. Perfect. The shorthand they had. "haven't said I'm signing on, but I can tell you this: I won't stay unless you go. One of us is getting on a plane tonight. If it's you, you're back in a week. If it's me, I'm gone, adios, for good.". For all the faults the last few seasons had, bringing sam back the way they didn't wasnt one of him. Theirsupport! So many things they were the only ones supporting each other, in the Oval sometimes! And when Josh had his PTSD, how he helped him. And Josh helped Sams campaign in CA (though that was more Toby).
4. CJ and Danny. OK so before I found your blog I never thought of CJ as lesbian/bi, and now I can kinda see it, and definitely if Sorkin (or maybe someone else) was wrote it 10+ years later she could be. But I always liked Danny and CJ together. Just the flirting and how he pursued her and also respected her boundaries and on my last rewatch she never said she didn't like him like that! Allllll the times he argued they should date and there was nothing wrong with she didn't explicitly say "i don't like you", it was her moral issues with the press which he respected and let her set the boundaries. "But if you keep kissing me what do i care". But he was still a reporter. Didn't take the Take Out The Trash Day story because he was in love with her, but still investigated the assassination! And stood up to her, and she let him! And then he left cause the new writers didn't know what to do with him and then the "jump off a cliff" and "i wanna talk cause i like the sound of your voice" and ugh such patience and maturity. And CJ flirting and kissing but being unsure and "that's how'd I'd get you" has me dying every time. She's hot and she knows it. They're great together and I like the idea of them staying together.
5. Bartlet and Leo. I just. It's the relationship that started all the others! "Bartlet for President". The napkin. I can't write as much especially about the last season or I'm gonna cry because John Spencer. But their relationship. The trust and friendship and the fighting and the love. Leo had the occasional awful character assassination (we dont always know how it ends? My Leo would never), but overall they looked out for each other. "I take a bullet for the President he doesn't take a bullet for me". There's like at least five episodes where Leo and Bartlet use the staff to protect each other against the others express wishes lmao.
Honorable Mention: Sam and Ainsley. They ABSOLUTELY did it in the kitchen in 17 People when they "looked for food". They had such great chemistry and I wish Emily Proctor was in every single episode.

So I've been wondering if I should make this update post and I decided I'm gonna
Basically it's just to let you guys all know what exactly is going on in my unmedicated ADHD Brain by explaining every single project of mine that's currently in the works. pretty much nothing in this list is released yet so don't go looking for them
Starting off with stuff I'm collaborating with others on
Danny and the Light - an original graphic novel on webtoon that got cancelled and is getting rebooted (don't get excited though we're taking our time with it) with @stormcloudquill
Chrysalis Chronicles - An original illustrated novel or graphic novel (i haven't decided) that's ripping off/fixing all the things wrong about harry potter; with @thekrazykitsune
Mincraft Diaries - Yep! Aphmau's Minecraft Diaries, rekindled and made into fanfiction and/or a graphic novel (probably both) and this one will actually have an ending; also with @thekrazykitsune
Avatar: Lion Turtle Heart - a fanfic graphic novel about a firebending avatar after korra named Akira working to unravel the mysteries of her past self, Avatar Kazu, and his death that even she can't comprehend, as well as the strange appearance of a baby lion turtle that Akira now has to care for. Doing this with @mayday396
now for fanfic works I'm doing alone
Legend of Emily Windsnap - Rebooting Emily Windsnap's story in fanfiction form. this fic is actually going to be released some time this or next year (hopefully this year but shit's hitting the fan on my life currently) and book 1 is actually near finished!
Digidestined Diaries - a reboot of seasons 1-4 of Digimon in either fic or graphic novel form. may or may not do this with stormcloud, but I'm not sure. the thing that makes this so special is that tamers and frontier take place in the same universe as adventure. yes, takato meets Tai, and no it does not go well for the others involved
Wizard101, The Legacy of Atlas - telling a story heavily based off the first arc of Wizard101 quests with a balance wizard as a main character, featuring the friends they make and the enemies they face as the chosen one to defeat Mallistaire. this will absolutely be in fic form, most likely with illustrations
Bloom's Magic, Beta writing - a written fanfic reboot of Winx Club as a beta version of the story I planned with Storm. the comic version of BM is currently on the backburner and is gonna have some differences to the written version, but it'll be something I promise
Finally, some original works that I plan on publishing!
Chronos and Kalayah - a Time Traveler named Chronos rushes around time looking for their best friend, an immortal named Kalayah. the two of them constantly avoid the temporal police while simultaneously helping Kalayah survive being a black lesbian in American history. likely only going to consist of one book and have a novel and graphic novel form
Call My Soul - a Magic Girl series featuring Blake Janes, an ordinary boy who stumbles upon an alien named Alexandrite. Alex is tasked with keeping safe the artifacts of the ancient magical shogunate, whose spirits end up choosing Blake and his gal pals to protect themselves from the evil prince Tsukuyomi, who wants nothing more than the artifacts. this graphic novel gets really gay really fast so strap in when it comes out
Roll For Adventure - a young boy named Matt who loves playing DnD is isekai'd into a land straight out of Lord Of The Rings, and he is absolutely stoked. while he is looking for a portal back home, his elf friend Sequoia and Orc friend Yevelda help him fight his way through the coming war between the eight races. Fun Fact; I use my dice to help the characters make decisions. even major story beats are going to be up to my D20!
Lucifer the Good - this story is precious to me, and hard to describe. it involves four kids being isekai'd into a world filled with magical monsters and elemental creatures, being guided by a young voice to find secret angels, all while villainous demons under King Devil work to stop the kids from ever leaving this new world. even worse, the human kids are the only ones who can undo the vile curse on the land of magic.
that's all the stories that I'm actively working on, but I do have at least 10 more that I'm leaving on the backburner to focus on these ones! Call My Soul is also getting very little attention, but I am actively working on it! I'm seriously hoping at least one of my original works will be released to the public by 2025, but again, life is crazy. anyway, my next few posts are gonna involve Digidestined Diaries while I work on finishing up Emily Windsnap Book 2 and finalize book 1. there's only one change I wanna make, then I'll get to releasing it to AO3 and Wattpad! I promise, at least one of these will be worth the wait :3

K so realized i forgot to expand on OG prompt part of post (can outline atm) so hereâs an attempt
Lexâs scientists had a new location and tripped into an energy source that glowed green but had the horrifically similar fluid properties as mercury⌠yet was able to be used as a fuel source continuously.
Lex had it for a year or so and noted it seemed to âgrowâ typically with his frustrations. The fact it has a low level of radiation meant no one directly interacted with it.
Then he had the grand displeasure of a group Posing As Government (and if they were, a very tacky black opps obsessed with cleanliness and the color white to a degree worthy of Mercyâs side eye) showing up at his labs without any paperwork.
Lexâs people correctly refused their entry. A Vlad Masters continued to bother him about âectoplasmâ and balked at Lexâs people calling it Lexium. Lex can admit its self-aggrandizement but the one who found it insisted on using his name.
Heâs fairly certain this was done ti suck up to him for better funding for their pet projects. He did give it to then regardlessâthe concepts for each aspect of a suit run with a rechargeable battery powered by lexium for the charge and the property of it then recharging off his emotions meant his frustration made him stronger. The cooling systems to avoid overheating were in R&D still.
Mastersâ badgering was vexing enough to see his old pet project, this stupid White Obsessed Faux Government Black Opps group.
He did bring a proto suit.
He saw the two kids being dragged into a toom drugged to the gills and still trying to escape.
a switch flipped in him and the next thought he had was to return to Lex Corp with the two and call his personal doctor to him for the children, while doing a facial recognition check for the pair.
He found out the two were declared dead (clearly not given their pulses. While the boyâs was slower and potentially undead, his organs were fully functional and operating as a young teenâs should. The girl was only a little slower than average⌠and he was more than willing to chalk that up to the drugs and a meta status.)
He noted the âdeathsâ were backlogged two months ago. The data from the Clearly Fake Black Opps told him theyâs been there longer. And there were multiple missing person reports prior to the death certificates filed by at least seventy separate individualsâwith a note that a large number beyond that continued to report and check in the missing pair.
He frowned as he noted the marker on Dannyâs original birth certificate and the location the report came from. Parents transphobic and unsupportive leading to the pair disappearing together, or the pair leaving due to Meta Status⌠perhapr both or negligence from parents prior to their abduction.
The pair are siblingsâJasmine Jacquline Fenton and Danny James Fenton. Fifteen months apart with Jasmine noted for starting school on time while Danny began a year later than expected.
Report cards from both indicated a major health change for the boy early in his freshman year, and a note of âaccident at home. Severe electrocution. Lichenburg marks somehow present for two weeks. Hospitalized and observed changes in base temperature and pulse, but otherwise normal.â Clarified the situation to Meta Trafficking Ring.
Mercy asked if this was to remain quiet or loud.
Lex looked over the vivisection records.
âTheir destruction will be an excellent example of what not to do.â
Mercy was inclined to agree.
Lex kept an eye on the two as they awoke.
Jasmine was quick to get ready for a charge, then simmered down once he asked if she had somewhere safe she and her brother would rather go, and how many she was aware of helped in her and brotherâs abduction into a meta trafficking ring.
Jasmine was more than willing to cooperate and laid out rules and plans for her cooperation, as some basics for her brotherâs should he agree.
Danny agreed to staying with Lex for their protection. He mentioned being away from âfruitloop custodyâ to Lexâs confusion.
The pair settled into his life no more than a week after that.
It took a few more before the ânot my parentâ jokes began from Danny, some more wrathful than others.
Jasmine continued to study him.
Lex belatedly remember Project K and had the test tube teen taken out. The boyâwhy he chose Kon of all names, Lex still hadnât worked outâwas chatty as usual during their check ins.
Lex absently offered the adoption, mentioning possible siblings who prefer conversations in combat form.
Danny met Kon first and the pair decided to become Lexâs personal Headache.
Jasmine began to pester him about schooling in Metropolis. He conceded theyâd require a cover and let the offer of gaurdianship rather than outright adoption for legal purposes out of the bag.
Danny demanded a âfamily name changeâ to go with his personal name change a few years ago.
Jasmine agreed, and declared naturally Kon would share it with them before signing the papers Jasmine Luthor.
Lex. Lex had three children. Three powered teens including his young mad occult scientist/former vigilante, his backup plan for superman, and a daughter too sharp and kind in equal measures.
The media ha da fieldday with the trio.
Waller showing up with her son to tackle Danny was far from a possibility he was expecting.
The mansons using Samâs connection to Danny to weasel into more galas he has fully expected. And if Danny began dress shopping with Sam strictly to undermine her parents, Lex would pretend to be none the wiser.
He did wish his sons werent as active on social media. Or trying to befriend gothamites. What siren spell puberty threw on Kon regarding Tim Drake he couldnât fathom. The boy acted far too much like a budding member of the Court of Owls for his own comfort. Especially once Danny pointed out there was âliminal corruptionâ in gothamâs air.
Waller tearing into Vlad and using the JLâs initial hesitance to work with Lex regarding the GIW was amusing to watch.
As was having his three point five childrenâDani had decided she wants to stay parttime as a child of divorce with Young Justice under Red Tornadoâs and his own joint-custodyâroutinely try to jump Clark Kent and Superman.
Danny was the most vocal about wanting to punt the man.
Jasmine had taken to using the portal to âlearn kryptonian to curse him in his mother tongue properâ. Kon tagged along and was enjoying telling Suoerman during his âvisitsâ to Lexâs apartment to âfuck back off to your own starâ in kryptonian
Apparently this triggered another custody was with the JL.
Kon staunchly opposed being moved from his siblings or father. Publicly and loudly on social media.
The defense of âheâs my stupid dad. Sure heâs evil but thatâs a billionaireâs law dumbass. How many of your kids games did you miss? Fuck off with this âpower controlâ and âbrainwashedâ crap. One of you isnât known for working with literal children in the field. And Robin #1 was certainly under ten.â Had put more heat on the JL than expected
Dannyâs support of running hours worked by robin #1 on average In Public did not help the JLâs case.
Kon crowed about it while Dani shrugged when asked as Phantom why she chose to remain in a JL affiliate. âUh, where else is a ghost girl gonna go? In the Zone where i am baby bambi? ha! Nope, iâll stay on this side of the veil and help where i can as rent. At least i get a guardian this wayâCreator is Fruitloop Central and Template is like. A few months older than me as a ghost. Like, baby raising baby is not a good thing, ya know?â
Tucker being caught doing Lives with Danny and Kon discussing Amity vs Metropolis vs IR and GZ weirdness was far from what he expected. Tim Drake joining in with his girlfriend and sister was also far from expected. At least they had the decency to have Billy Batson as their reporter moderator for that adventure.
DC X DP PROMPT
Lex Luthor after years of r&d stumbles upon ectoplasm. He then uses this experimental fuel source to power his machines for years.
The GIW gets wind of this, the GIW who currently have both Jazz and Danny in containment after Maddie and Jack handed them over.
Lex finds these two children and for a moment heâs back in his childhood, remembering his father. His horrible drunkard of a father, and he sees red. When he calms down the GIW base is nothing more than a smoking crater and he is carrying the two children.

This post is about a Danny phantom and Red hood(Jason Todd aka the dead robin) crossover because I think there should be more content of them. Also like all my knowledge of these characters comes solely from here and fanfics. I donât claim to be an expert I just think their neat. I suck at spelling so beware. With all that said, I have this story ideaâŚ
So when Jason dies in the whole joker explosion there is just enough ectoplasm in the area for him to create a really shoddy core. Like all it does is keep his body from decomposing and if it didnât get anymore energy it would fade in a couple of years.
But then superboy does that whole punch the universe thing and that gives Jasonâs shitty core just enough juice to bring him back to life but not enough to really heal him completely (itâs trying its best ok). Then Talia dunks him into the pit which im headcanoning is ectoplasm a random portal had spit out that got super corrupted. For a normal ghost this wouldnât really be a problem cause they can filter it but Jasonâs core sucks.
The pit madness basically makes all Jasonâs underlying ghost instincts go up to 20 which explains how he act in the whole make Batman kill joker thing(because his actions make more sense if you think of him as a ghost and not a human). And I headcanon(or maybe it is a canon im not sure) that jason did die again from the batarang to the neck (death part two the electric BOOgaloo(ha get it) )and when Jasonâs little core brings him back there it also has the a side effect that it takes away some of the corruption making jason mellow out a bit.
Things go on as normal until the whole penguin thing where bats beats him to death (father figure 2 is a failure bring in the next one). After Roy drags him away and he heals up Jason runs into Danny. LiterallyâŚ
Sooo Danny finally tells his parents (no phantom planet tho ) and they accept him. But all is not what it seems because Later that night though they bring him down to lab and try to âfixâand/or figure out if he is really Danny. Jazz is at college, Sam is at a galla somewhere out of state with her parents, tucker competing in a week long tech competition, and Ellie is exploring the ghost zone so no one notices Danny is gone.
The guys in white come to investigate the Fentons and when the find phantom locked in the basement they kill the fentons an take him. Danny is with them for three months before they try to vivisect him. They go to touch him core and even with all the tech they are using to weaken him, danny lets out a wail killing almost everyone and escaping. The surviving GIW hunt him down as he tries to get back home. Danny is able to avoid them for a couple days but they find him and try to corner him in an alley. As Danny is running for his afterlife he senses a ghost nearby and runs to them in the hopes that whoever they are can help him fight off the GIW.
this is where he runs into jason. Literally.
So they collide danny says âhelp meâ and hides behind jason. The GIW come sprinting into the alley guns a blazing and demand that jason hands over the freak. Jason looks at the bloody scared kid behind him then at the adults calling a child an it and goes full protect mode and kills them. After that is taken care of he goes back to Danny an asks if he hungry. Danny nods and they go get chili dogs.
They get close as Danny heals up and they plan to kill the rest of GIW. Danny morals have been a tad twisted because A)These guys just experimented on him for 3month B) They where using what they found out from experimenting on him to find ways to destroy the GZ C)he knows if he doesnât kill them they keep trying to kill him and destroy the GZ.
They take down the GIW(cool fights and explosions) and Jason thinks that will be the end of it since danny can go back to his sisters and friends. Danny has other ideas. He does go home and tells the phantomily(phantom-family) that heâs ok but returns to jason and just starts following him around. The confrontation just kinda goes like thisâŚ
Jason: kid what are you still doing here. Iâm dangerous go home.
Danny: hey I can take these guys any day and maybe I like hanging out with you. Dead guy to dead guy.
Jason: go home kid. And I prefer the term zombie.
Danny: nah ill think ill stay! I can even help my powers are super useful!
Jason:⌠still too risky, i not going let you become a child soilder im not Batman.
Danny: awww come on plzzzzz
Jason: your parents are probably worried about you Go. Home.
Danny: NO THEYâRE NOT THEY TRIED TO FIX ME!! AND THEN THE GIW KILLED THEM. IM LEGALLY DEAD!! I CANâT GO TO SCHOOL, OR NASTY BURGER OR STAY AT JAZZâS COLLEGE . OR ANYTHING!! I DONâT WANT TO LIVE IN THE GHOST ZONE I STILL WANT TO BE ALIVE. BUT IM NOT IM JUST just *sob* a freaky little boy âŚwith freaky powers. I thought maybe you would.. you might-
Jason *hugs him*: im sorry Danny you can stay.
So Red hood gets a partner in crime and Jason gets a family.
Phantom gets mentor who cares and Danny gets a new parent.
If you guys like the idea let me know! iâll make more art and write more

So of course with Phantom being an intricate part of our daily life there tends to be questions that the town cannot answer. One major one being: Who was Phantom before he died?
What are your theories?
Phantom-our-hero:
What if the Fentons purposefully tortured a teen so that they would come back as a powerful ghost because the Fentons knew that their weapons weren't strong enough to fight ghosts. They made Phantom as their ultimate weapon. This would explain why he wears a hazmat suit, shares a 1st name with their son, and accidently calls them 'Mom' and 'Dad.'
Protect_the_kids:
That would explain why the daughter has thrown herself into her studies and school. If her parents were torturing a kid in their lab she would probably see school as her escape from home. If this really happened then she would probably try to stay at school as much as possible explaining her grades.
Fenton=Phantom:
Or Danny IS Phantom! They are basically the same physically except for simple eye and hair color change!
Show.Phantom.Love:
@Fenton=Phantom For the last time Phantom cannot be Fenton due to the clear fact that the Fenton son is ALIVE!!! And Phantom is FUCKING DEAD!!! For real, it ain't that complicated!
Protect_the_kids:
No no, he has a point about them looking similar though. What if they cloned the boy Danny and tortured the clone. It would explain his serious fear of ghosts and why he consistently avoids the topic of Phantom. When I see his fellow peers bring up the topic he becomes skirmish. Not to mention the fallen grades since the ghost portal starting up, awkward tics and his requests to "use the restroom" whenever a ghost appears at the school. He's consistently missing when Phantom is around because he runs away and hides in fear of what his parents have done. He's also found around town tired, making up excuses to not be home.
PhantomGreenEyes:
You mean to tell me the Fentons would morally clone their child and torture it to death just for a ghost weapon?
Phantom-our-hero:
@PhantomGreenEyes Uhhhh, yeah it's the Fentons
PhantomGreenEyes:
Good point
AmityAnomaly:
Well if the Fentons tortured him why would he still do their job and protect the town from ghosts and be a ghost hunter? Why not fight against the Fentons who hurt him?
Protect_the_kids:
Phantom has time and time again provided evidence of his sense of justice. With this he makes it a point to not cause harm to others or tries to minimize harm to others whenever possible. With this he probably would see harming the Fentons as unjust and "being just as bad as them" or "scooping down to their level." Removing the ghosts from our world through his thermos which holds or transports the ghost back to their world is not only protecting the humans from the ghosts, but protecting his fellow ghosts from the Fentons who hurt him.
AmityAnomaly:
Okay I am once again asking why can't we just kick the Fentons out of the town. Because really, this is not okay.
CityHall:
Would you like to start having to pay for electricity? They do power the whole town for free by converting the high consternation of ectoplasm in the air of the town to usable fuel.
AmityAnomaly:
Nope! All good!

(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)
Pink Astronaut headcanons(plus general headcanons I have for both their characters)
Paulina at first started the phantom blog mostly because she of course has crush on phantom and loves writing posts about phantom, getting videos of clips about phantom and writing(surprisingly actually really good) fanfiction about phantom. But than she takes a liking to writing and learning about ghosts and the supernatural. She also gets kinda a thrill managing to record whats happening during ghost fights on her phone or camera. She basically becomes a little bit of a Lois Lane for ghosts and tries to find out actual real (and actually helpful) information about ghosts and what their like(unlike the Fentons) to her followers. And her tips actually do some good at getting students out of danger and avoid/stay safe from ghosts.
The problem is that she's being reckless trying to get the best recordings and pics that she ends up needing Phantom to save her lot. Through lots of trial and error she gets better.
Star helps her a lot with the blog and her and Paulina actually become close and better friends because of it. Star has her own segments with fashion tips, tarot card readings and something call 'Star opinions' what she thinks about certain ghosts, people and fashion. Stars actually really funny and sweet. And Paulina actually doesn't mind Star getting attention because it's so good for the blog, she's becoming a better person, and it gives her more time to write.
Meanwhile Danny is constantly between super worried and annoyed at having to save her all the time. At the same time he secretly enjoys it. Plus he gets to spend more time with his crush. So it's complicated.
Danny eventually hears about the blog. Checks it out and is pleasantly surprised by it. Paulina actually managed to do some decent work, the research is good. And her theories are for the most part true. The warnings and fights on ghosts actually seem to help people avoid getting in the middle of them (which means less stress for Danny worrying someone might get caught in the cross fire between another fight between him and Skulker). Her writing is actually really good. Though he blushes at her fanfiction. He's kinda flattered that he was the inspiration for it.
Danny nicknames Paulina 'Lina'. Paulina likes it because it's sweet, and because her Papi calls her that too. She only lets the ghost boy and her Papi call her that though.
Other than ghost boy, Paulina nicknames Danny ĂĄngel, whixh means angel in spanish.
Paulina gets a lucky break and manages to catch the ghost boy in a good mood. She asks him if he'd be willing to do a interview that she could write for her blog. She promises she'll be respectful and that if he's uncomfortable with certain questions he doesn't have to answer. Danny agrees( mostly so they can spend more time together)
The interview happens on top of an old abandoned building that Danny sometimes uses as a hide out to stich himself after a fight or just get away from his parents( yeah I don't like Danny's parents)
The interview goes pretty well. Mostly it's silly questions like what's Danny's favorite foods( cheeseburger or milkshakes) or what does he like to do in his free time ( star gazing or flying. )
Why Paulina is asking questions Danny shyly at first, but soon with growing confidence asks her questions to( Whatâs your favorite colors: pink and green, what's your favorite anime: sailor moon)
They soon get to a few serious questions that Danny has trouble answering to. Paulina tries to tell him it's ok he doesn't have to answer, but in the end he does, but of course doesn't tell the full truth( Why do you fight ghosts and protect people? Answer: It's kinda like need to, I have to. Besides if I don't a lot of people will get hurt. Who is your worst enemy? Answer: Plasmius. And I won't explain why. Just know he's a freaking fruit loop and stay clear of him)
Later when Paulina finds out who Danny really is and who exactly Plasmius really is, she finds Vlad a fucking creep too. She calls Vlad 'gringo pendejo' as an insult or just 'pendejo'. There's this hilarious/badass moment later in pink astronauts relationship where because Vlad was too busy gloating/monologuing in his human form, Paulina manages to hit him with a car and save Danny and his friends( she knocked him unconscious, but still alive. Only thing really hurt was the fruit loops pride) Danny fell in love with her for that moment and kissed her for it as they drove away for their lives. Some how Tucker recorded it and they laugh about all the time.
The interview ends well, and Paulina manages to get a kiss out of the ghost boy(something she surprisingly keeps to herself. That interview was for her blog. But that kiss between her and the ghost boy, she's taking it to her grave)
Sam Manson obviously is getting really jealous over all this(sorry I just don't like Sam's character very much). Over how close Paulina and Danny are getting. She tries to hide it and tell Danny she's shallow, she'll expose your secret. Danny doesn't think so( he honestly believes Paulina has gotten better and change. And blog has.) Danny believes the blog has actually help. And Paulina isn't trying to pry. She honestly wants to spend time with him. Or at least his Phantom side of him.
Paulina and Sam get into a fight(a physical fight) later at school when Paulina finds out about Danny and pink astronauts relationship manages to work out (and get better to Sam's horror) as a result. Sam manages to get a few good hits but ultimately Paulina kicks Sam's ass. Mostly cause she's a physical fit cheerleader and beautiful Hispanic girl with a dad for a cop( her father definitely taught her how to defend herself) in almost all white town. Sorry no rich white girl is going to be able to kick her ass.
Paulina's Family: her dad is amity parks chief of police. Her mom lives somewhere else because she's an abusive alcoholic( due to family trauma), her aunt( her dad's sister lives with them) is a lawyer, she has two older brothers, and had a twin sister who died when they were both 8. Mostly her abuela takes care of her, but her dad and aunt try to be their as much as they can. Her family isn't rich, but they're not poor either. Mostly because her family works a lot, it's mostly Paulina and her abuela a lot. An abuela who loves ghosts and ghost stories as much as she does, and likes to spoil Paulina a lot( her dad does too).
Paulina doesn't like to talk about her mom. But she's why she had a lot of the issues she has. Especially about beauty. Her mom hit her a lot.
Her and Danny bond over their bad parents.
Song that makes Danny think of Paulina: Waiting for Superman by Daughtry.
Song that makes Paulina think of Danny after she finds out the truth Let's here it for the boy by Deniece Williams.
After they had their first kiss after she found out the truth Paulina listened to that song on repeat and was dancing all over her room.
Paulina realizes she's in love with Danny after Danny's tells Paulina one of his darkest fears. Dark Dan. Paulina quickly reassures Danny that she isn't afraid of him. Seeing his flaws and the worst of him. Added to what he deals with on the daily made her realize Danny with or without the ghost powers is an incredibly kind and brave person. And that's why she loves him.
(That's all I have for now will probably write more later.)

Lost Boys Chapter 4

Summary: Multichapter fic loosely based on the Lost Boys (movie).
Warnings: 18+, MINORS DNI, Explicit Chapter
Chapter 3
Chapter 5
Jake avoided all questions you had regarding the fact that Danny had drank his blood and became, what you inferred, immortal. From what Jake showed you, all four of those men havenât aged at all over the last seven years, and it was easy to assume that the brothers may have been this young for even longer. When he drove you home last night he basically became mute, just giving you grunts and looks as answers instead of having a full conversation. If you could change one thing about Jake it would be the fact that he seemed to always dodge your questions and any resemblance of an actual conversation. But, you knew that he held onto secrets that werenât just in place to protect himself. He had three other men that he was basically responsible for. That may be exactly why he always stayed so stoic, so the others could act their mortal age for as long as they needed. Jake held some much on his shoulders and now you were added onto that weight. You only knew this because when he dropped you off in your driveway, he made you promise that you would be careful. You had to question him though, why would you need to be careful when he was always there to protect you anyways?
âI canât be around all the time Y/N. Youâll see me every night you allow it, but I canât be with you during the day.â You had to admit that this was quite the admission of information from Jake, so you decided not pry any further. Plus, it was pretty easy to start putting the pieces together. Jake hadnât aged, he couldnât come out in sunlight, he was able to read your thoughts, and he had an affinity for blood. Vampire.
As you laid in your bed, you spent hours racking your brain around the possibility of this. Were the creatures that you saw in horror movies and read about in books actually real? You always pictured a vampire as some Nosferatu looking beast. Cold dead eyes, fangs that were always present, and an alien-like facial structure. Yet, Jake and his brothers were the most beautiful creature youâve ever come in contact with. They reminded you of a renaissance painting, specifically The Fallen Angel. Sculpted to look so ethereal yet so terrifying, a common thought you had.
You had to laugh at the situation before you. Here you were a young woman that spent her whole life carefully crafting a life that allowed little room for danger, and excitement, having that all crumble down within the span of two days at the hand of a vampire. The word felt so foreign to you that you decided to try it out. You stared at the ceiling and kept repeating the sentence over and over: Jake is a vampire. It began to sound like a fact rather than a thought. As you kept cycling it a voice inside your head started to speak to you, âYes, darling.â The voice was so unmistakably Jake. Even from miles away, he was able to know everything you were thinking. This was something that you would have to keep track of, making sure that you didnât let your mind linger too much on the way Jakeâs hand felt on your thigh or the way his smile erupted a fire deep in your stomach. âhavenât even kissed you yet and you already canât stop thinking about me.â His voice was dripping in cockiness. He was able to know exactly the effect he had on your body just from a few chaste kisses to your knuckles. It added to the intimidation that always overcame you when he was around.
Maybe you could use some of this telepathic communication to your advantage. Jake might be more willing to answer your questions if he wasnât actually here with you. You decided to speak out loud, since your parents wouldnât hear you anyways.
âJake, do you drink blood?â
âYou know the answer to that.â
âDo you want to drink my blood?â
âYes.â
âAre you going to?â Even though Jake was so protective over you there was this underlying knowledge laced in fear that he could so easily harm you when and if he chose to.
âNot until you tell me to do so.â Like hell you would ever let Jake drink your blood. He would never come near you with those sharp pearly whites that were home behind those kissable lips. âYouâre drooling darling.â Your hand mindlessly swipes at your mouth, checking to see if Jake was actually correct. He wasnât, he just was taking the chance to tease you about your infatuation with him. You naturally cross your arms in a bratty fashion as his belly laughter rushed through your head.
âCan you get out of my head?â You resembled a scolded child the way your lips pouted and eyebrows furrowed together.
âIâll stop. But you just call if you need me.â There was a silent pause before he continued, âFor anything baby.â And there it was, his teasing continued on. You wished that you could get inside his head just once to know how he thought of you. The teasing nature of his personality never seemed out of place against his usually stern demeanor. He granted you access to his softness, and albeit annoying at times, you would take it over the silence he fed you earlier in the evening.
âGoodnight, Jakeâ
âDream of meâ
***
The next night started like the two previous ones. You aimlessly walked around the pier waiting for the roar of a motorcycle engine to whisk you away for another night of excitement. A giant fluffy bundle of pink cotton candy now occupied your mind as you made your way through the crowd, with it being a Sunday night there are less patrons to avoid bumping into. You hummed along to The Rolling Stones song that was blaring through the speakers next to the Ferris wheel, using your cotton candy as a pretend microphone as you went.
âBabe. Turn around.â
Jake was staring at you with an amused smile on his lips. He must have been watching you perform your little show from across the boardwalk. Sam and Josh were rough housing with one another, causing the attendee of the kiosk they were standing in front of to begin to yell at them to keep moving. They ignored the demand of the older gentlemen and kept trying to bring each other to the ground. Danny was watching laughing at the antics, moving out of the way to avoid being roped in. It was nice seeing Danny smile since the last time you had seen him he was fighting to hold onto his life in Jakeâs arms. He looked so healthy and warm now causing a smile to fall on your lips as you looked at him. He noticed you staring and returned your smile. You wonder if Jake had told him that you now knew about him and what they all were.
âThereâs our girl!â Josh must have noticed you as well because he was now galloping his way towards you, quickly followed by Sam. Josh placed his hands on your hips to effortlessly lift you in the air. The strength he possessed actually shocked you at first, as he was able to fling you into the air like a rag doll. You actually think there was a time when his hands left your hips and you were free falling.
âPut her down.â Jake had gently grabbed your arm once you werenât airborn pulling you into him possessively. Your back was flush against his exposed stomach under the leather jacket he was never seen without. You had to silently praise him for not wearing a shirt that night and the way he pressed his body into you further told you that he knew you had thanked him. His right arm came across your shoulder to drape across your chest.
Sam flicks at your ear before saying, âI forgot our Jakey doesnât like to share.â It was all playful jest but you were reminded of the dream you had of all four men standing over you waiting to take you as their own. Wondering if this was something that would come to fruition your body naturally tensed against Jake.
âIâll never let them touch you.â Jake said in your own head. His lips pressed to the back of your head to try and ease some of your tension. You had to question him as to why he would show you that dream if the purpose of you wasnât to be shared. You look at Jake with questioning eyes. âI wanted to see if youâd run, you didnât.â Realization set in that Jake was controlling your dream to scare you away from him and his brothers. He was testing to see if you would run if you found out the truth behind everything. That meant that you did have free will in this whole situation, even with the feeling of a divine power pushing you towards him, it was all you.
âWait.â Joshâs voice pulled you from Jakeâs glare âcan-oh my god- can you hear her thoughts?â
Josh had his hand on Samâs chest directing both of their views toward you. âNo way!â Sam was just as excited as his older brother, clapping as he spoke.
âCongrats man.â Thatâs all Danny said in a deadpan tone as he placed his hands in his pocket. He looked almost disappointed when he averted his eyes to the ground.
âWhat are they talking about?â
âDonât worry about it.â Jakeâs arm gripped you tight as he pointedly spoke. It was more directed to his brothers as a warning rather than to you, but it was a quick change from his previous sweet nature.
His twin ignored his warning and continued on badgering him, âoh come on Jake! You havenât told her! You have to tell her man!â
âJosh! Enough!â The volume of Jakeâs voice caused you to jump in his arms. Jake being upset wasnât a pleasant situation for anyone in his vecentity and you would like nothing more than to avoid it all together.
âAlright, Jesus,â Josh curtly spat towards him. Josh then nudged Danny and Sam urging them to follow him towards the group of girls heading towards the line of the Ferris wheel. Before he reached them, he turned around to speak to Jake, âIâll have us back before sunrise. Go have fun.â Even though Jake had just yelled at him, Josh spoke to him in such a kind brotherly way. It was the way only siblings could talk to one another, easily flipping between anger and love. The three of them gave you a wave before disappearing for the rest of the night.
âYou wanna get out of here?â
âBut, I just got this.â You nod your head to the cotton candy you were still holding on to.
âIâll buy you another one. Come on.â Jake flipped you around in his hood before beckoning you to follow him. The nearest trash can was the new home to your cotton candy and youâd be lying if you said that you werenât disappointed. âCotton candy is more exciting than me, huh?â
âNo! It was just so sweet and tasty!â Entertained by your childlike behavior, Jake stopped in the middle of the boardwalk to face you. He had a wide smile on his face looking down at you through pieces of hair that fell into his face.
âBaby. Things will get sweeter if you just come with me.â Gulping in excitement you decided that it would be best for both of you if you completely forgot about the cotton candy and went with him, so you grab his hand and let him lead you anywhere he wanted to go, discarding the cotton candy in the nearest trash can you could find.
Another word wasnât spoken between the two of you as you made your way to his bike or the whole ride back to his place. Your bodies did a lot of talking though. You were flush against him, letting your head rest on his shoulder as he drove. Your palm was pressed firmly against the skin of his abdomen, loving the feeling of his skin against yours. The hand he wasnât using to control the speed of the bike rested over your own. He lazily rubbed his thumb over the back of your hand, an act to display how much he did care. To the strangers you passed you two looked like you had been madly in love for years.
Unlike last night, Jake helped you off of his bike by placing both of his hands on your hips and lifting you off. It was much like the way Josh had lifted you earlier, but Jake held you closer to his body. His movements were rushed as he tried to make his way to the entrance of the sunken hotel.
âJake. Wait.â When the command fell from your lips his whole body went stiff. He stood straight up and appeared to wait for another one of your directions. Before he could get upset with you telling him what to do, you quickly add; âI want you to kiss me out here, like you should have the night we met.â
Jake peered over his shoulder at you and with the way the moon hit his eyes, he looked almost delicate. It was becoming obvious to him, you, and even his brothers that you were the only thing that could bring out this side of him. Deciding to use the method of communication that you two share, you think Please while you stare back at him. He doesnât delay another moment, taking wide steps to reach you faster. With one of his hands on the back of his neck and the other one ghosting over your cheek, Jake kissed you, finally. The kids exuded romance, a pleasant surprise to you. It felt as if electricity started in your toes and it made its way to your head the longer you stayed wrapped up in this kiss with him. Your arms were snaked around his neck to keep you steady against him since your knees were already growing weak. Jake slowly walked you back so you were sitting against his bike, he must have been able to tell you were going to lose your balance soon. As soon as Jake stepped to stand in between your legs the kiss changed. It became hungrier, more heated. The grip he had on the back of your neck clenched bringing you even closer to him and the hand placed on your cheek dropped down to squeeze at your hip. Instinctively, you wrapped your legs around his waist to pull him flush against your body. Making out with a mysterious man, on his black motorcycle, on the edge of a cliff was easily the hottest thing you have ever experienced. A low snicker came from Jake as he pulled away from the kiss.
âIâm glad I can provide that for you baby.â He had a smirk on his face but you didnât get time to take it in because he smoothly nudged his nose against yours to cause you to lift your head. Your neck was now exposed to him and even though lust was clouding all your judgement, you were concerned that Jake would plunge his teeth straight into your jugular. âI told you,â Jake placed an open mouth kiss on your neck, âI am not going to do that until you ask.â He followed his statement with a spew of wet opened mouth kisses trailing down your neck. Again, you think there is no possibility in this world that you would ever let him bite you, but that was something you could discuss with him later. His tongue licking across your throat snapped all your attention back on to him in this moment.
Your high pitched moan seemed to encourage his behavior further, because the hand on your hip started migrating towards your center âI love that you always wear skirts,â he praised. His fingers teasingly danced along the hem of your skirt causing you to wiggle into him further. The cold metal of his belt pressed into your core only enhanced the pleasure you were getting from him. As he brings his lips back to yours, you roll your hips against him in effort to give you more friction. He, on the other hand, was an expert at keeping his composure. You only felt a slightly bigger than normal bulge against his tight jeans and even when you pulled slightly at his hair, he remained focused on your body.
âPlease, Jake.â You knew you sounded whiney and desperate, but thatâs how you felt. You needed him to touch you anywhere that would give you the slightest amount of relief to your ache.
âAsk me what to do. Be specific.â Usually you hear men say âtell me what to do,â but Jake made sure to put a big emphasis on asking. You made a mental note to comply with what he wanted with this being an act he would be initiating in as well.
âJake, can you touch me?â He pulled away slightly from you to make eye contact.
âWhere, baby?â He licked his lips at the sight of your swollen lips and bruised neck. You looked delicious, in more ways than one. Too embarrassed to actually say anything too dirty, you opt to think it instead. âAnywhere Jake. Just touch me anywhere.â
He brought his lips to your ear, nipping at the lobe of your left ear. He whispered in your ear causing more shivers to trickle up your spine. âNo no. Say it out loud.â
âJake, can you please touch me? All over, anywhere, please.â If you had heard your own voice, you would have cringed. It sounded so needy and slightly pathetic, but the way Jake responded told you it was exactly what he wanted to hear. The hand that was on your neck came around to grope harshly at your breasts. Even with his raw strength the pain quickly dissolved into intense pressure under his touch. He already knew your body so well. It was like he knew how much you could take before the pain became unbearable. The fact that he was inside your head with you gave him a manual to your body, likely to lead you to immense euphoria when with him. All of this was allowing you to fall into him and trust him with this, he was going to take good care of you.
His index finger was now playing at your panty line, slowly inching closer to where you needed him. You adjusted your hips to angle them towards his hand.
âBe patient.â He spoke in your head to avoid having to break the kiss. His lips were moving along roughly with yours. Both of you were attacking each other to try to drink the other's essence. The hand on your breast began to knead in circular motions causing your nipple to harden underneath his touch. You whimper at him while you pull him into you more by his jacket. His hand was caught in between your bodies, not allowing him to move it away from you. He begins to press the knuckle of his index finger up into your core through your underwear giving you some relief. It wasnât enough though, you agonized for more. More of anything.
Much to your disappointment Jake broke the kiss, allowing you both to catch your breath.
âIf you want more I need to be able to move.â He looked down, your gaze following, to his arm that was pinned against you. Your body was so closely entangled in his that he was actually stuck. Embarrassed, you quickly let go and push your body away from him. Jakeâs hand left your breast and moved to your hip to hinder your movement. âI never said let go.â With a blush now deep on your cheeks you move back into Jake, but allow enough space for him to move freely.
Jake takes this opportunity to indulge you. With a sudden flick of his fingers, he pushed your lace underwear to the side. He used his middle finger to swipe a line from your core to your clit, causing another desire filled moan to fall from your lips. The circular pattern of his motion on your clit made you bite your lip in bliss.
âJake, can you-â You werenât even able to finish the question before Jakeâs fingers left your clit and dipped into you. Even his solo finger was almost too much. They way he moved it so expertly inside you made your head tip back to expose your neck, a gesture from you that was happening more often lately. Along with moving his lips to your neck, his hand left your hip and wrapped gingerly around your throat. With him no longer holding onto you, you had to bring your hands down steadily on the bike to avoid falling backwards. He kept a steady pace placing the palm of his hand against your clit to give you some more friction. Your hips rolled against it at the same rhythm Jake was using. A slur of moans comes from you with his name laced in between. You could feel him proudly smile against your neck becoming even more cocky the more he saw you wither underneath him. A hot tension was rapidly beginning to build in your stomach, this was quicker than this has ever happened before, but there was no use in fighting it.
âGod, oh my god.â
âWrong. Say my name.â
âJake!â When his name was said in a minute sob, he added another finger. Pumping his index and middle finger inside of you, he began using a come hither motion to brush against your walls.
In a low husky tone, Jake cheered on your declaration of pleasure; âI know baby. I know you like that.â Your mouth was agape, whimpering up at the moon. Breath was trapped in your chest as the heat in your stomach continued to grow at a fast rate. This was a moment you knew was changing your whole dynamic with Jake. You two couldnât teeter the line of will they wonât they anymore, this was what would cement you as his.
A nip at your ear was the catalyst of you coming undone. The sensation was so intense that you had to hold onto Jake once again. He slowed down his pace to assist you in your come down, placing affirmations in your head as you did.
âBeautiful, gorgeous, Iâm so glad youâre mine.â
And you were his, for now and forever. When your body finally stopped twitching against him, Jake removed his fingers from you and helped you off his bike. In a filthy move, he popped his two fingers inside his mouth to clean you off of him. He smirked at you as you gawked at him.
âWhat babe?â He feigned innocence, laughing lightly at your silence, before bringing you into his chest. âWanna go inside and keep going?â
You didnât feel the need to answer him, instead choosing to make a bold move. With a shaky hand, either due to nerves or your recent climax, you begin to undo his belt. Just as the button of his jeans was placed in your fingers, his own hands halted your actions. Jake was staring intently down the winding road that led to you.
âWhat-â He aggressively shushed you as he kept listening to the distance. You searched the darkness for an answer as to what might have alerted him. There was nothing there, and the only sound you could hear was the waves crashing against the bottom of the rocky cliff.
âSomethingâs wrong with Josh.â

I imagine it'd be right before Damian shows up. Suddenly, Bruce has a feral assassin child and a mystery toddler under his care and is not coping well. This man is stressed. God bless Alfred because he wouldn't be keeping it together without him.
It starts off really rocky. Danny's clearly traumatised from something, severely touch-starved and very clingy. Damian is prone to trying to kill his siblings and so closed off from how he was raised that they're like polar opposites. Not to mention how young they are. Danny's too young to even start self-defence classes, let alone know about their nightly activities.
Jason hates Bruce, but he misses Alfred and wants to look out for Damian and Danny because he's worried Bruce will ruin them. Besides, he may have never met Damian, but Talia spoke of him plenty. He can't help but feel a little protective of the guy.
So he comes to the manor. He tries to time it for when Bruce will be out and avoids Tim like he's contagious. He's brilliant with Danny. Danny feels something's familiar about him but can't place it so he's just extra curious about him. Damian is thankful Jason doesn't treat him like a kid or ridicule him for being a killer, though he'd never admit it.
Tim doesn't feel like he's part of the family. Damian tried to kill him, he's not Robin anymore, and there's two new little kids running about for everyone to focus on. It's like he doesn't exist. So he keeps to himself, running himself ragged working away with basically no supervision.
Dick is just trying to be a good big brother and keep everyone and himself together. It's not his fault he forgets to check up on Tim. He's stressed and exhausted and trying to be everywhere at once.
Cut to, Bruce "dies". Everyone sort of splits up. Tim is alone, naturally, Dick and Damian slot into place at each other's sides, and Jason is busy dealing with a bunch of unresolved trauma and being a crime boss. Alfred tries his best, but it's impossible for him to upkeep the manor and look after a five-year-old kid all at once.
So Danny's alone. Bruce died and everyone left. It wasn't purposeful, obviously, but everyone sort of assumed someone else would look after him and they've never been great at communicating with each other. Danny's confused. He knows ghosts are real, so why is everyone so sad Bruce is dead? He's not gone forever.
He's also so, so lonely. He got used to being actually cared for, and suddenly that care is gone. He becomes very quiet, drawing into himself and wandering the silent manor all alone. Damian and Tim still live with him but they're doing their own things, busy with their lives. They don't have time for him. Danny doesn't try to reach out.
Tim is convinced Bruce is alive. He's exhausting every avenue he can think of, distancing himself from everyone even further in the process. No one notices, because why would they? He's not resentful or anything. Just resigned.
And then Danny and Tim cross paths in the manor. Danny's crying because he's scared and no one's around. Was it something he did? Tim sees little Danny who he's barely interacted with one-on-one crying in a communal space and awkwardly tries to cheer him up. After that Danny attaches himself to Tim's side.
Tim's not sure how to treat him, but he tries to be a good brother. Alfred seems happy they're spending time together (and Tim's realising how overworked the poor man has been) and Danny's soaking up his affection like he's never known love in his life. It's familiar. He sees himself in Danny.
So he can't turn him away.
Danny and Tim become really close. Tim rambles to him about his theories, assuming Danny wouldn't understand because he's so young, and Danny doesn't get all of it but he believes Tim wholeheartedly. His input even helps pull Tim out spirals several times. Having someone, even if it's a five-year-old, believe him does wonders for Tim's psyche.
Tim was ready to kill himself to get Bruce back. That was his job; be Bruce's guardian. But suddenly there's a toddler who follows him around and looks at him like he hung the stars, listening to every word he says with wide, trusting eyes, and Tim can't just leave him alone. So he's less reckless. Just as determined, of course, but no longer downright suicidal.
Tim gets involved with the League. He's absolutely ruthless. You know how it went in the comics (with him blowing up bases)? Yeah, well it's worse now. Tim has to get back home to Danny. He can't trade his life for Bruce's or spend a long time away. He speeds up his plans and leaves an even bigger lasting impression as a result. Who cares about his kill count? Most of the family has one.
Yadda yadda, Bruce is back. Everyone slowly comes together again, and are surprised to see how close Danny and Tim are. They ask about how it happened. Danny says after everyone left when Bruce died Tim still loved him, which leads to realisations all around about how they've taken Tim for granted and sort of abandoned him and Danny.
This leads to them being an even better family. They all put in an effort to be there, especially for Tim and Danny. Tim is unused to people caring about him, and thinks it's temporary. Everyone goes out of their way to prove it's not. (Well, except Jason, who still has to be sort of dragged into family events and such.)
EDIT: it cut off my tags so let me include
Tim gets Danny a really fancy telescope for his birthday and Danny is over the moon. This causes Bruce to realise he doesn't know his kids' interests and stalks them to find out what they like because he can't communicate like a normal person.
Dick gets Danny a star teddy and Danny carries it around everywhere.
Danny is super affectionate. He says "I love you" and initiates hugs and so on. This leads to everyone else saying "I love you" back and it becomes normalised to just say "I love you" to each other whenever.
Tim has a panic attack the first time Bruce says he loves him. He assumes Bruce has been possessed or replaced or something. It takes a lot to talk him out of it. Bruce has a lot of realisations about his shitty parenting as a result.
Basically, Danny makes the family less dysfunctional by just existing.
Danny doesn't want to be a vigilante or hero and cries when he finds out his family are. He wants to be an astronaut so bad. Bruce is so relieved.
Danny still has his powers he's just hiding them because it's what he knows to do.
Cujo shows up and none of the bats can figure out what he is (a ghost) but deem him a non-threat and let Danny keep him as a pet following lots of pleading.
DC X DP - DeAged
The Nasty Burger explosion took a lot from Danny.
Stopping Dan meant nothing when Danny lost everything. His friends, his parents, his sister, his teacher - all gone. Danny, desperate to not become Dan, fled. He would not let Vlad destroy the only thing he had left; himself. He didn't turn human again if he could avoid it. Let Danny Fenton die with his family.
He did what he could, trying to keep it all together. Avoid Vlad. Catch havoc-wreaking ghosts. Try to not have a panic attack every time he saw his reflection. FentonWorks became out-of-bounds. No one was sure how to turn off the portal or any of the house's defence mechanisms so it was taped up instead.
Danny kept the GIW away. They wanted his parents' research, even if they had to bend the law to get it. Danny would not let them have it. Never.
But the GIW was persistent and Danny weak from nearly two months of being Phantom and nothing else. He was so tired. Tired from grieving, from fighting, from wandering around, completely lost and alone.
The GIW got a lucky shot in. Danny went down. He woke up, still ghost, somewhere white. He'd trained himself not to have to turn back. He was grateful he did.
The GIW studied him. Danny did not have the energy to fight back. The will to survive. Curled up in his cell, bloody and becoming less human with every passing day, Clockwork finally intervened.
He could not let the future High King wither away into nothing.
With Nocturn's help, he whisked him away. His world was dying anyway. With no one to maintain the portal, it would soon overload and explode. The radiation would kill all life on Earth, leaving nothing behind, and taking with it the potential for new life. One world among infinite realities meant nothing. But Danny, as High King, is a singularity. A unique existence, only found in one reality. Clockwork, for the sake of everything that lives and dies, could not let Danny fade away.
Danny slept at the Far Frozen, dreaming of his family, his friends, and the stars he would one day rule over. He healed, wounds knitting together into scars and fractured core slowly, ever so slowly, repairing itself. A future Ancient, bound to protect all that is and will be, was bound to be very badly hurt from such a loss.
Clockwork only wished he could have done more, but to remove Danny too early would have spelt disaster worse than the deaths of billions. This boy would someday be someone he'd proudly call his grandson. Seeing that future alone was enough to make his own core ache for the young one.
The Infinite Realms wept for its child, still but a babe yet having suffered so much. It embraced its future King, blessing him with its loyalty and adoration. The ghosts of the realms, spread far and wide over distant realities, timelines and worlds, felt the loss too.
Danny healed, unaware of how loved and precious he was to so many - how far he was from alone. The dead's sudden quiet unsettled many. Enemies froze in the silent mourning, animosity forgotten. Raging wars came to abrupt ends. So many, unable to bear the ever-reaching, unidentifiable pain in the air killed themselves. Good, kind people cried alone.
Magic users, like Constantine and Zatanna, hid, waiting out the Infinite Realm's despair for its child. No one spoke of it, for fear of disrespecting the dimension between dimensions. But they hid, and they waited, and they couldn't help but worry for themselves and everything and everyone else.
Danny got a lot of visitors. Ancients, regular ghosts, crowded around his bed, gifting him blessings and support. Danny slept, he healed, and his world died, taking with it all he'd known. He wouldn't remember or know of any of this when he woke - even the memories of his pleasant dreams will have left him. He'll awaken and think himself entirely alone.
But he'll know, someday.
Clockwork will make sure of it.
---
Danny doesn't know where he is or who he is.
He has a vague idea. His name. His life and his death. But so much is so distant, like impressions on sand, washed away by the ocean. He knows he should be bigger. He knows this isn't home. He knows there is no home anymore.
He knows there are people he misses, but he doesn't know who they are or where they've gone. He knows so little yet so much. White walls and orange hair, green (toxic, writhing green) and hazmat suits, white and black and orange and blue. Expensive, Packers-branded cologne, burning flesh, the scream of an alarm and laughter and fear and hope and love and pain and loss. Disjointed flashes, snippets of another life.
And this isn't familiar - this city and these people. These crowded, filthy streets aren't home, but there's no home anymore so of course they aren't. And maybe Danny should be afraid. He doesn't know where he is, or how he got here. There are people, so tall, walking around him not sparing him a glance. It's loud and smelly and so much to process all at once.
But Danny doesn't care because he's so tired, and he wants nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep the day away. But he doesn't have a home, so obviously he doesn't have a bed either. He looks around for somewhere else to sleep, rubbing at his chest subconsciously as he does.
There, a building, on the other side of the road. The windows are tinted, but the doors open and Danny, through the crowds and passing traffic, catches a glimpse of what has to be a couch. Maybe the people that own the building will let him sleep on their couch for a little bit.
So he crosses the street, sticking close to the legs of some lady with skinny heels that go tap-tap-tap so the cars don't go because they can't see him. The lady turns to go a different way after but it's okay because Danny is in front of the building now.
He pushes the door open and slips inside. It's quieter inside, and warmer. Danny wasn't cold outside but in here there's a nice heat that makes him feel even sleepier. He looks around at the fancy chairs and potted plants and lights, and is happy to see there are couches. Long couches, with lots of pillows and space for him to spread out.
He walks up to the desk. He's too short to see over it, and it makes him kind of angry because he's sure he's supposed to be taller. But he figures maybe he remembers wrong because people don't just shrink. Except, he's a halfa so maybe ghosts do?
"Hello?"
There's a lady here too, behind the desk, but unlike the one he followed across the street she has short, curly hair. Danny wonders if she's wearing skinny heels too. Leaning his head back, he can see her look up, glance around, and then look back down.
Danny pouts. Did she not see him?
"Hello?"
He waves an arm this time, reaching as high as he can to catch her attention. She finally sees him, eyes widening in surprise. "Oh, sorry! Hello." She has a nice voice.
"Your voice is pretty."
She smiles, and Danny decides her smile is nice too. "Why thank you. You have a pretty voice too. Is there something I can help you with?"
"Can I please sleep on your couch? Just for a little bit."
"Of course you can. Would you like a blanket? I could fetch one for you from the staff room."
Danny shakes his head. "I'm okay. Thank you."
"Alright. But if you change your mind, do tell me."
"You're very nice."
"Thank you, but it's really no problem. Not much to do today anyway."
"You should sleep too then. Sleep is good."
She giggles. "That is a very good idea. I just might take your advice." Danny nods. He has lots of good ideas. "Okay. I'm gonna' go nap now. Bye-bye."
"Sleep well."
There are a few couches, and for a bit Danny's not sure which one to sleep on. He chooses the one with the most pillows. It's very comfy, and the pillows are nice too. He puts one under his head and hugs another, curling up around it. He falls asleep in seconds.
-
When a toddler with black and blue eyes asked to sleep on one of the couches on in the reception hall of Wayne enterprises, May had assumed he was one of Bruce's boys. He certainly fit the type Gotham's favourite playboy liked to adopt, and it wasn't unusual for his wards to show up out of the blue.
Once she found Tim Drake passed out on the floor under her desk. Apparently, he'd been hiding from Dick who was visiting from BlĂźdhaven and forgot to bring his coffee with him, consequently falling asleep while he waited for her to arrive so he could ask her to go pick some up for him. That had been an interesting Thursday morning.Â
On another memorable occasion, Cass, Bruce's only official daughter, and her girlfriend Steph had shown up, said hi, went upstairs, then came back down after about an hour, giggling as they ran out with a wave goodbye. Not even ten minutes later, Bruce himself stumbled out of the elevator, absolutely covered in purple glitter. May remembers raising an eyebrow and asking if Bruce wanted her to have another suit brought in.
He'd ended up collapsing on one of the couches with an exhausted sigh, and said he'd have Alfred pick him up instead. He left a sparkly trail behind him when he walked, and the couch he sat on had to be replaced because, even after numerous cleaning attempts, no one could get the glitter out. He had glitter in his hair for months afterwards.
So, May hadn't bat an eye when the little boy came in. Well aware Bruce had several meetings scheduled that day, she sent him an email saying one of his kids was taking a nap in the reception hall and resolved to look out for the boy herself. Throughout the day, she made sure to check on him often, making sure no one picked him up ran (this was Gotham after all).
He slept soundly for most of her work day, barely shifting. She ended up putting a blanket on him herself during her lunch break and leaving him a water bottle and little snack for when he woke up. She also made sure security kept an eye on him whenever she left for whatever reason.
It was well into the afternoon when Bruce finally replied to her email and asked if his kid was still sleeping downstairs. She said yes, and not long after he arrived on the ground level. He walked up to her desk and asked if his kid had caused her any trouble. She smiled and assured him no.
Then Bruce asked where Tim was.
"Sorry? Tim isn't here today."
Bruce frowned, looking just as confused as she felt. "My apologies. You said one of my wards was asleep here. I assumed it was Tim."
"Oh! No, no, it's not Tim. Well, I don't actually know his name but the little guy has been here since this morning." She gestured to the toddler in question.
Bruce turned around, saw him, and frowned. "He's not one of mine."
"He's not?"
"No. Are you sure he's not an employee's child?" He kept his eyes on the boy, eyes narrowed in thought.
"Yes, I am. Only three employees brought in their children today, and all of them are ten or above. He can't be older than five." She frowned now too, turning to her computer to double check. "I'll send out a company-wide email to be sure. I should have done this sooner. I'm sorry, I was just so sure he was under your care."
"It's alright, May. I'm not upset. I'm just worried about him. When about in the morning did he get here?"
She glanced up, but Bruce was still looking at the sleeping boy. "A little after nine."
"And he's been sleeping all that time?"
"Yes, as far as I'm aware."
"Alright. Thank you for looking after him. I'll take it from here."
"Of course, sir. I'll reach out to you if anyone identifies him."
He nodded appreciatively and walked over to the boy. She watched, frustrated with herself. She's worked as one of Wayne Enterprise's receptionists for over four years. She should have known better than to just assume some random, black haired blue eyed child was Bruce's kid. She should have at least reached out to make sure that was the case.
She sighed as Bruce knelt down by the couch and gently shook the little boy awake, resting her head in the palm of her hand. This poor child. His poor parents. They must be worried sick.
She has to make this right.

Guardian Spirit au
Danny is a Guardian Spirit, except Guardian Spirits in this au are truly terrifying.
They focus a lot more on the guarding aspect of being a Guardian Spirit then being comforting or approachable, so they look terrifying. Like a massive chimera of different animals and eldritch abomination looking stuff.
Guardian Spirits are generally some of the most powerful ghosts and most ghosts know not to mess with them unless you want to have a second funeral. They are also usually mistaken to be demons and malevolent spirits by humans even though they just want to guard the thing they are guarding and be left alone.
Appearances are deceiving in this case bc even though Guardian Spirits look terrifying as heck they are usually pretty docile and kind as long as you dont try to hurt/take the thing they are guarding.
For example Pandora is a Guardian Spirit, most Guardian Spirits are animalistic in appearance with Pandora being one of the few exceptions (though that doesnt mean they have less sentience or intelligence, they just look like animals and can usually talk as well)
Anyway back to Danny, because of the nature of his creation and of course his obsession his ghost half ends up being a Guardian Spirit. Unfortunately he drew the short end of the stick and instead of looking vaguely human in his ghost form like Pandora he looks absolutely terrifying.
He's about the size of a two story building (maybe a little bigger). He has huge feathery wings, a scorpion tail, is four legged with bird feet with sharp talons, has thick white fur all over the rest of his body, and of course he has an elk skull as a head. His eyes are still glowing green but it's just the iris and pupil, the selera is pitch black in the sunken eyes of the skull.
Thankfully he only looks like that in ghost form. Not so thankfully this monstrous appearance obviously doesn't help disprove his parents claim that all ghosts are emotionless monsters that need to be eradicated.
Protecting Amity park is easier in this au since most ghosts take one look at Danny's ghost form and just nope out of there. The exceptions being Skulker (who wants to catch Danny even more because he is a halfa AND a guardian spirit) and Box ghost who is just stupid about not angering incredibly powerful being.
Danny goes through an angsty faze of "am I a monster?" But his friends and soon his sister pull him out of that and when they meet Pandora and they find out that Danny is a Guardian Spirit the boy accepts and is happy with this part of himself.
The main threat to Danny in this au are his parents and the GIW since of course a giant ghost monster that appears from nowhere and disappears seemingly into thin air attracts more attention and seems like a bigger threat.
Meanwhile Danny is just trying to get by. Sometimes he goes through partial transformations that are troublesome to deal with without anyone noticing (these include: scorpion tail, the wings, having the top of the elk skull appear on his face sort of like a mask he can take that one off of his face and it dissipates but the other ones are actually part of his body)
In this au he meets other Guardian Spirits (tho Pandora is basically like his unofficial mentor/mom), has to avoid the GIW and his parents, has to try and convince the town that the scary looking huge chimera is NOT going to hurt anyone, and also deal with Vlad trying to capture him to work for him like his vultures do (Vlad has no idea Danny is the Guardian Spirit in this au, he is increasingly annoyed that this Guardian Spirit keeps foiling his plans to kill Jack)
Also I might throw in some Ghost king Danny just because I think Guardian Spirit!Danny would beat Pariah Darks ass. Plus the image of a crown that looks so tiny in comparison with Danny's huge elk skull head is just hilarious (tho I'd probably have it so the crown of fire changes based on the king so it would probably change to be big and intimidating to fit on Danny's ghost form's head, but change to a normal size whenever he changes back to human)
The partial transformations are caused bc Danny has to transform into his ghost form at least every few days or else it starts transforming on it's own so yeah Danny can't have his ghost form lay low even if there arent any ghosts attacking Amity.

So warm and tender
Tony Stark x Daughter!reader
A/n: Hello! finally the last part of Ember. I hope you guys like it and sorry for making yâall wait so long for the confrontation lol)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/nâs POV
âAunt Pam?!â you say in shock as you stop struggling against the vine wrapped around your body.
âY/n, is it really you?â your aunt said as the vine loosened its grip and gently lowered you on the ground. â Where have you been? Everyone has been going crazy looking for youâ
You donât answer as you look at your aunt. You didnât realise you missed her as much as you did but now all you want to do is throw yourself in her arms. So you did.Pam, sensing you needed comfort rather than an interrogation, wrapped her arms around you. âI missed so much my Petal.âÂ
With those five words, all the hurt and pain you bottled up came out. and you cried.
As you cried, your aunt looked at the girl she hasnât seen in eight years, and wondered what sheâs been going through and if she did the right thing by giving you to your father all those years ago.
âPetal, I think you need to explain whatâs going onâ
You look up and sniff, â Yeah, i think an explanation is well in order.â and you tell her everything. From the years of being ignored by your father, your last argument, the two weeks you spent in captivity, and your new powers.Â
â And thatâs when I found you.â You finish looking at the grim faces of Pam and the other woman, who now that you think about it looks really familiar.Â
âOh, you poor puddinâ!â you found your face being squished between two ands and then you were comically pressed against a body in a tight hug.Â
âDonâtcha worry bout a thing, me and Pammy will take care of everything, you just sit here and---â This seems familiar...
â Harley, I donât think she can breathe.â âOh right, now you remember, it the blonde woman who used to sneak into the apartmentâ. You think to yourself as you struggle to get loose from her grip. You hear someone snicker and see Danny looking at the commotion.Â
â Shut up Danny, where have you been?â You say, forgetting that youâre the only one who can see him.Â
âExploring, do you thing she could hug me like that too?âÂ
â If you werenât already dead, Iâm sure they would kill you for that commentâ
Pam and Harley look at each other in concern as it seems like youâre talking to yourself.Â
â Hey kid, if youâre gonna talk to yourself, try anâ do it when other people canât see you, like me.â The blonde says as if someone talking to themselves was a daily occurrence for her. You explain that with your powers, you were basically dead and can speak and see other dead people. Hearing that, Pamâs expression darkened
âHe let you die?â she said in a grim tone. All the vines and plants in the room started whipping around angrily as if they were looking for the person who wronged you. It was then when you realized it wasnât your Auntie Pam who taught you how to plant petunias you were looking at, this was Poison Ivy.Â
â Men, you can never trust emâ. Well, whadda say little flower, ya up for a little premeditated murder?â and that was the infamous Harley Quinn.Â
â It wouldâve been nice to know that youâre related to scary criminals y/n....â Danny said in a fearful voice. And if you were being honest you just found out that your aunt Pam was also the Poison Ivy but to be fair you havenât seen her since you were like eight.Â
âI donât want to kill himâ you finally say. â I donât want anything to do with him. Nor his precious Spiderling.â The plants calm down as Ivy calmed down and was your aunt Pam again. â What do you want to do?â she asks.
You think to yourself and say,â I want him to know how he made me feel, and then I want to stay with you.â Your aunt and Harley froze when you said that.Â
âPetal, there is nothing I want more than for you to stay with me again,â She started, â But it isnât safe for you to stay.â Your eyes started to water
âBut I-I have powers now, I can defend myself! I wonât be any trouble, itâll be like Iâm not even hereâ At this point, anything was better than going back to being invisible. âPlease...I donât want to go back...âÂ
Hearing the desperation in your voice broke Pams, Harleys, and Danny's heart. Pam because this was the daughter of her closest friend. She vowed to protect you from anything the day you came to her after losing your mother. Seeing you like this just reminded her how she, in her mind, has failed you. Seeing you so desperate to get away from the man who broke your heart reminded Harley of herself. The nights she would sneak into the tiny apartment you shared with Pammy, in hopes of escape only to get drawn back with empty promises. So yeah, she had a small soft spot for you. And Danny, you were the only person who saw him after months of being invisible. He felt like he needed to help you in your mission to get your father regret ignoring you.
âHey Pammy...maybe we should call him...â Harley started to suggest.Â
âNO, Iâd rather drink weed killer than go to that...orphan collector for help.â the red head spat. â No. Weâll figure it out but she can stay here for now.â
Hearing that you had a place to call home now, gave you the motivation to go and confront your father. Not only for ignoring you, but for leaving you in that..cell for two weeks. He didnât even attempt to look for you as far as you knew. Youâd have thought at least one of the other Avengers would have came to save you. But no one came. After all those years, no one came.
âY/n.. your eyesâ Danny whispered, his cold hand touching your arm snapped you out of your mind. The neon glow of your eyes faded to your normal e/c.Â
â Aunt Pam, Harley is there any way you guys can get me to New York and back?â You ask, finally ready to confront your father.Â
â Well....â Harley say as with a smirk
~~~~~~~~~one terrifying ride on a stolen batplane later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Upon arriving to New York you made Pam and Harley wait a few blocks away from the tower, as you really didnât want the Avengers to find out your aunt was a wanted criminal. You âwent ghostâ as Danny like to call it and snuck into the Tower with ease. You then snuck into your room, seeing everything covered in a layer of dust as no one has been in there for over two weeks. You packed a bag and filled it with some clothes, books and a picture of you and your mother. You took that bag and walked to the door, looking around at the room that was both you prison and safe space. It was decorated with multiple trophies, medals, and ribbons all from the multiple sports and clubs you joined to impress your father. Not like that ever happened. Danny wander around looking at the multiple teams photos you had hung up.
â Youâre a volleyball girl?â he said, â Huh. Iâd never have had guessed.âÂ
You rolled your eyes as you finished packing. â Hey I have a job for you.â you say turning to him. â I need you to go to the control room and turn off the power for thirty minutes. Then turn it back on and come find me in the common room.â
â Yes maâamâ Danny says, saluting and disappearing through the wall before he comes back. âUmmm, wheres the control room?âÂ
You roll your eyes and explain how to get to the control room and wait. When the lights go out and youâll make your move. Your father would have to pass through the common room to get to the control room from his lab, which you assume heâll be. There youâll be waiting for him.Â
The lights go out. Itâs showtime.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tony's POV
The team spent three more days searching for you. They followed every lead and half of the team even flew out to the building that collapsed an hour ago. Tony, Steve, and Natasha stood behind to look at more clues. It was a little past midnight, and both Steve and Natasha went to bed leaving Tony to tinker in his lab. Tony was making improvements to a certain spider suit as he thought about what his daughter said to him before she went missing.
âSir, there seems to be someone in Y/--â FRIDAY started to say when the power cut out.
âFRIDAY??â Tony questioned as he walked out to check the control room, making sure to get his nano bracelet just incase. As he walked down the hallway he thought about waking up Steve and if he was brave enough to wake Natasha when he heard it.
âHi daddy.â
Tony stopped dead in his tracks as he looked up in disbelief. The lights turned back on to reveal his daughter. Wearing a black halter top, spandex leggings, grey boots with elbow length gloves. She looked skinny, as if she hadnât had a proper meal in the weeks she was gone. And for some reason the air was cold in the room. But there she stood.
âY/nâ Tony said breathlessly.Â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n pov
As you wait for Tony to walk in,you look around the common room and reminisce. You think about the time when you first moved in, and you got lost trying to find the bathroom and accidently walked into Natashas room. YOu thought she was going to kill you but ended up walking you to the restroom and back to your room. Or when you made the volleyball team way back in eighth grade, and you ran home to tell your dad but ended up telling the whole team, who were rarely all together, and they all took you out to get ice cream, minus Tony. You had to admit, even though your dad didnât pay attention to you, Nat and Steve did. As well as the whole team, but those two really became the parental figures in your life. Thatâs why it hurt when not even they came for you. Even they had forgotten you.
âHi daddyâ you said in a mocking voice. Your father stopped dead in his tracks, as he looked you over in disbelief.
âY/nâ, he said in a breathless voice.Â
âOh, you remember my name?â You say in an sarcastic tone. â Didnât seem like you did when you left me in a hydra cell for two weeks.âÂ
Hearing that you were a prisoner of Hydra made Tonyâs blood freeze.Â
âHydra? Oh Y/N are you okay? What did they do to you?â He asked frantically as he walk towards you with the intent of checking if you were injured. You jerk away from him, avoiding his touch and say
â Oh, Iâm wonderful. Just so fucking fantastic. I was just experimented on and injected with various liquids that caused excruciating pain. No big dealâÂ
â Y/n..we spent days trying to look for you. Me and the team--â
âYou and the team what Tony? I was there for two weeks. TWO WEEKS I WAS POKED AND PRODDED. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE.â You scream, anger filling your heart as you remember the agony you went through. You think about the scratches on the wall of the cells, the taunts from the guards, and screams of the undead.
â You have no idea what I went through. What Iâm going through.â You say, feeling your body grow colder as you lose control and start to shift. â You donât care about me. If I were Parker, you would have saved mem within SECONDS.â
âThat's not true. Y/N you have no idea how much I love you.â Tony tries to say. Heâs filled with the need to tell you everything he didnât tell you before. âI know I havenât always been the best father. Trust me I know that now. But if you give me a chance, I want to make everything right. Please.âÂ
You didnât think it would go like this. In fact you were not at all prepared for Tony to say this. You expected to walk in on him continuing his life as normal, tinkering in his lab and such. You had always yearned to hear him say those words to you. But now, they just fill you with anger.
âYou think you could just tell me what I want to hear and what? Iâll just act like nothing happened?? I know youâre not that stupid.â You spit, the room growing colder as you get angrier. â Itâs too late for all that Tony. Iâm not the same girl i was two weeks ago.i won;t take it any longer.âÂ
âY/n..your eyesâ Tony says as he slowly starts to put his gauntlet bracelet on, realising that you are becoming a threat.Â
â Oh do you like them?â, You ask â This is what happened when they injected me. I can also do this.â You shift, shades of blue taking over brown skin. Tony stared at you in awe and a bit of fear.Â
â Y/n this isnât you. I know youâre angry but--â â Isnât me?â You interrupt.â You donât know me. You donât know what Iâm like. And even if you did the old me died in that cell. Literally I diedâ You and Tony stared at each other. and that's when you heard the doors open. Two sets of footsteps started rushing to the commotion.Â
âY/N some red head and beefy blonde are on their wayâ You hear Danny say as you realize you had to wrap it up. If anyone can convince you to stay, itâs Steve and Nat.
â It doesnât matter anymore Tony.â you say as you start walking to the window. â I canât stay here anymore. Thereâs nothing for me. You win. Peter can be the child you always wanted cause from now on, consider me dead.â and with that, you phase threw the window and let yourself fall, knowing that you wonât actually fall as you can fly.Â
Tony freaks out and calls for his suit, only to see a blue blur shoot up and across the sky. Then he just sits there and stares. The footsteps reach the common room and he hears someone askÂ
â Stark..what was all the yelling. What's going on?âÂ
âshe's goneâ He says, and that's when he truly realizes his mistake. He became what he never wanted to become. He became his father. And now you were gone.

âDid you apologize to Tucker yet?â
âAbout what? Wait, are we talking again? I thought we werenât talking.â The ghost circled back, blindly fumbling with the thermos lid, eyes busy squinting at the hunterâs mask as if it would let him see through it better. âYouâre not gonna say itâs fine then shoot me, are you?â
âWhy do you always remind me why I donât like talking to you like this.â
âWhatâd you mean like âthisâ? Like I should pretend that isnât a totally valid question?âÂ
Valerie groaned, gesturing at the ghost. âLike that sort of thing is normal!â
Phantom smirked, letting the edges of his boots hit the hoverboard. âWelcome to my life.â
âAnd how you just keep that stupid confident face up.â
âUh huh. I thought you were lecturing me about Tucker, not my personality.â
She deeply considered having the board jar the ghost off, but thatâd probably just amuse him more. âYou seriously donât remember why you should be apologizing?â
âWell according to you, I should basically apologize for existing. So sometimes I lose track on the particulars.â There was an edge there that the blithe tone couldnât quite cover up, even as the ghost sat down. âYâgonna enlighten me or what? Iâm bad at twenty questions.â
âYou broke your promise to him, remember?â
The blank stare she earned in response was absolutely infuriating. âUhhh. Which one?â He had the sense to look embarrassed, hand glued to the back of his neck.
That wasnât going to help him though. Shooting him was actually sounding like a fair idea if it was the only thing that would get him to actually learn and pay attention. âTo stop possessing people. The big one? The really easy one that NONE of his other friends need to worry about doing âaccidentallyâ?â
âWow Val, if you just wanted to say you think Iâm weird you didnât need to drag Tuck into it.â The embarrassment slid into a scowl easily enough, arms crossed as if that would defend him. âI havenât done that for months.â
âHeâs been telling you he hates it for years.â Before she even figured out Dannyâs dead man walking secret. Tucker was too good a friend to be ignored for literal years because a ghost conveniently forgot how fucked up it was to invade someoneâs body and use them as an unwilling meat puppet if it was âhelpfulâ.
âI try, okay? Iâm not doing it to upset him!â
âSomehow everyone else can manage without doing it.â
The ghost tilted his head. âWell duh, you guys canât.â
âEven if we could, we wouldnât.â She snapped, the confusion and completely casual excusing of his actions just a little too much to deal with. âHeroes donât control people.â
âWell excuse me for needing to protect myself. If what I am gets out to the wrong people, Iâm dead. More dead.â He groaned face in hand âYou know what I mean. Worse than dead. Dani too.â
âDo you really think Tuckerâs dad would have ratted your whispy ass out? That he wouldnât help you explain? Or was it just an excuse to let yourself do what you want?â
âWell you seem to have decided that it was! Which it wasnât!â His eyes flared green with the defence, and Valarie had to work to not react to the impulsive want to get away from an angry ghost. âI just- reacted, okay? I told him that!â
âWell Tucker and Sam keep forgetting how much of a ghost you are, so of course they wonât buy that excuse.â
âExcuse? Itâs not an excuse!â He was up, the offended squawk reminding her so much of how he was before. When they were all fourteen, and every uncomfortable problem could be chalked up to being âa moody teenagerâ and ignored for a while longer. âAnd you could stop saying ghost like that, while youâre at it?â The glow dimmed, but he kept the distance. âSound like my dad.â
âWhat, you want me to say it like you do when they keep coming here to threaten people? Deal with it.â
âThere are plenty of ghosts who donât do that.â
âYeah. They donât come here, and they arenât my problem,â she shrugged, considering. âIâll say it nice to them.â
âOh, real funny.â
âYou deserve it.â
She expected a scoff, at least. Probably a laugh, considering how often heâd joke about being the townâs public enemy for a time. Instead he averted his eyes. âMaybe we can finish this talk on the ground?â
It was easier to be ticked off at him when he was joking, or steamed himself. Phantom didnât âdoâ uneasy. Maybe it was a good sign that he was actually listening, if he wanted to continue âoff the clockâ. âSpace cadet wants to land? Sure, if you want.â
âI wouldnât go with âwantâ, but yeah.â
It wasnât much trouble, in the middle of the day. A quick glance while hidden in at least one direction was enough. People who lived in Amity Park knew they should get out of the area of a ghost sighting at this point. Even if she and Phantom were trusted enough to deal with it, stray shots happened. Things fell. Not too many eyes to avoid, even if her identity felt like an open secret most of the time.
Danny had it even easier. He just had to think. It felt like a sick joke, that he could stop being dead on a whim and blend in fairly well. The gangly man leaning against the tree looked human. Black hair, blue eyes, needed a tan, unremarkable. Average. Unless you knew what to look for, anyway. How a casual slouch didnât match up with how he was always looking for something, a tense energy that seemed desperate to crack free of that spine. That he could walk in winter with the thinnest of jackets and not shake from the cold even once. âHey.â
Valerie rolled her eyes, sitting on the bench. âHey yourself.â
Danny grimaced, looking up and away. âHow much of a ghost I am, huh?â It wasnât an angry question, exactly. He was still slouching, hands in pockets. Guarded and uneasy. How much of that fear and caution the person she thought she knew, and how much of it was just another part of his act?
âYouâve said youâre at least half of one.â
âYeah. You just make it sound like thatâs a bad thing.â
The whole crux of the issue, really. How no one really knew how to deal with Danny, his secret and how heâd changed. âItâs not a bad thing on itâs own.â
âSo Iâm the part you like to sneer at,â his brow furrowed, the creases and wrinkles more ominous as blue slid closer to green. âI thought we went over this. You know what actually happened. How I never really attacked people.â
She admired Tucker and Samâs patience, she really did. âWe have. Itâs not about that stuff. Thatâs years ago, you know it. Itâs the other stuff.â
The anger was gone in an instant. âWhat other stuff?â
He was a living migraine waiting to happen. âHow you keep thinking things from seven years ago are more important than things happening right now?â
âHey, youâre the one that held the grudge for two.â.Â
âMonths. Not years.â
He slouched more at the correction, apparently very interested in his own hands. âOh. Right.â
âYou havenât been using the reminders like Jazz told you to, have you.â
âI can remember fine! I donât need some box doing it for me. Iâve just been busy.â
Busy. That was his excuse this time? She crossed her arms and leaned back. âOkay, what year is it?â
âUhm.â he paused to pick at a non existent loose thread âOne starting in 2?â
âDanny.â
âWhat! Lots of people donât care too much about the time.â
He didnât even try to guess within ten years. There was living in the present, and there was this. âNo, you know your ghost side makes you act in certain ways and keep denying it. So you still get the complete pain version of ghost. Get it?â
âIâm not that different.â He wouldnât look at her, hand clenching. âIâm human too, you know.â
âUhuh. The way your eyes flare up when youâre mad is super human.â She ignored his scowl, pushing forward. âI get it. You donât like being reminded. Tuck and Sam try to ignore it for your sake.â
âVal, Iâm not denying it okay? I know. Itâs pretty obvious!â
âThen stop pretending you donât know. Theyâre trying so hard to help you have a chance of getting a job that isnât with your parents and you wonât even use the reminders to help you remember where in time you are!â
That got him to bristle, shaking off his slouch in a sudden reminder of how tall he really was. âWhy does it matter? Weâre all just kidding ourselves about me ever leaving here.â
âSo you just wonât try? Just give up on finding anything else? For someone who keeps insisting heâs human, you sure seem eager to ditch that half of your life.â
âThat isnât what Iâm doing.â
âThen what are you doing? Because all Iâve seen you do is get tetchy about ghosts and instinctively do ghost things. When youâre human.â
âIâm putting in the work. You know itâs hard to study or hold down a job.â
âSo stop making it harder on yourself.Theyâve found ways to help keep you grounded, so do it.â Sam should be saying this, of course. Sheâd heard it frustratedly repeated so many times, but she never dared to actually say it to the one who had to hear it. Because he was already prone to pulling away or vanishing when you pressed too hard, made things too uncomfortable. Ghosts didnât do coping, and Danny was never great at facing personal issues head on before becoming a menace to her sanity either. âYou think making things harder makes you more of a hero?â
ââCourse not.â He wasnât looking at her anymore. He was looking for an escape, an out. âI shouldnât need that stuff, alright?â
Now it was her turn to be puzzled. âWhy shouldnât you?â
A lopsided grin answered her question. âWho likes admitting theyâre a freak?â The tree no longer had a human standing by it, but his voice was easy enough to hear. â But I guess some people care about a freak like me anyway.â
(did Valerie use a tracker to smack him and say âyouâre not a freakâ right after this? yes)

One of Damian's clones realized they were all just being sent to the slaughter and there was no future where any of them would claim heirship and be respected/cherished/safe.
He found a moment when he could run and be assumed to be numbered among the deceased clones. He ditched the League garb in favor of the least attention-grabbing garments he could find and disappeared into the streets of Gotham. He was quickly given the name "Shanks" by other children after stabbing a trafficker with an improvised blade.
He mostly survived on his own, stealing, scavenging, and doing the occasional job when he could get it, until he happened across a delirious tinkerer with skills far more valuable than the odd boy realized. It started out as an arrangement of pragmatism.
The devices made good money and being the only point of contact for the workshop ensured the security of the asset and avoided any possibility of the boy getting it into his head that Shanks was replaceable. It was quite fortuitous that staying in seemed to be the boys preference; Shanks didn't even have to suggest it. The odd boy would bury himself in his work until he collapsed from exhaustion. It was as if he was fleeing from some kind of unbeatable foe in his dreams.
Even so, the boy, Danny, would beam at him every time he arrived, and greet him with familiarity like an old friend. It was annoying at first, but he grew accustomed to it. It made the timid genius easier to manage. Any advantage on that front was sorely needed as the fool needed prompting for every basic act of self care.
One day, some customers had attempted to leave the remaining half of their debt unpaid (one of the first things Shanks had learned was to insist on "half up front"). Shanks had made short work of the fools, but he'd returned to the hideout with a few cuts and bruises. It was hardly noteworthy, but Danny had gasped in horror and ushered him in, refusing to hear a word about anything else until Shanks had allowed Danny to treat every minor injury and refusing to make anything else or allow Shanks out of the building until he'd kitted Shanks out with a full set of protective gear and weaponry that Shanks deemed discreet enough for public use.
It really should have been annoying for Danny to become so overwhelmed by sentiment that he could only wail that he couldn't lose Shanks, but it was satisfying that his importance to the operation was recognized. If he had to take some time to indulge Danny's theatrics, well it was worth the inconvenience to know that his asset wasn't foolish enough to double cross or leave him.
Then he returned to the workshop one day to find it standing empty, a batarang lying to the side.
Shanks saw RED. It wasn't enough that the Bats held the Al Ghuls' rapt attention. It wasn't enough that Damian had a life and a purpose and a name while Shanks and his ilk had existed only to perish in yet another test for him. It wasn't enough that they held power in both the League and Gotham. Now they had the gall to try and take Danny from him?!
Shanks would not allow it! Danny was his! Shanks was the one who found him! The one who housed him! The one who brought him food! The one who ensured that he slept and practiced basic hygiene! It was Shanks who kept Danny alive and healthy, and he would not allow the Bats to swoop in and take him from him!
Damian might have the training advantage, but Shanks had Danny's best work and the only of his equipment without a remote control self-destruct feature. He would lose nothing else to the Son of the Bat.
imagine with me Danny ends up in Gotham some how and is a mad scientist that is hired to make cool shit and gets BANK but then the bats crack down on the shit and they see a 13 year old boy with big ass goggles with machinery all around him and looks up for a second before glancing up again as if confirming what he saw and then slowly turns around âHiâŚ? I swear if these are one of my delusions than I will be complaining to HR- wait am I⌠HR?â
Danny ends up in Gotham after Nasty Burger happened, but to not become Dark Danny, he buried himself in machine work, using some blueprints from his parents' lab as a baseline and then eventually creating his own.
Some guy in Gotham found him one day and decided that he had a talent for making stuff like this, and that he'll pay Danny handsomely if he made some things for him, and, well. Danny was pretty low on money from his parents' bank account after blowing most of it on machine parts.
So he accepted.
Then the guy started requesting some other things for some other people and he eventually became his middleman for the big hitters in Gotham who wanted his stuff. Well, not that he knew his stuff was being given out to the big hitters that also include villains, since he spent most of his time just building, then eating, then passing right the fuck out, and repeat.
Then the bats crack down on him, and Danny's been making some shit for more than 24 hours already with no rest time and just a little snack here and there, and then he questions if he accidently inhaled something he wasn't supposed to because the bats are literally in his workshop/house.
So he thinks he maybe high as shit right now and then just treats them like they weren't there and goes back to making his thing because that one guy said a person with a fuck ton of money wanted it. Then Batman pulls him away from the machine and he's like: "Huh."
Still thinking this is a massive hallucination because he's high as a kite, he tries to get Batman to let go, but his grip is pretty strong, then he pokes him and then goes: "Oh, maybe this isn't a hallucination."
"Oh sugar honey iced tea."

Interview with a Ghost (part 5: Buried)
(PART 1) (PART 2) (PART 3)Â (PART 4)
.
.
.
"What?" said Captain Jones, as Collins and Paterson finished explaining their understanding of the situation to him. "What? What?"
"That was my reaction, too," said Paterson. "Just, you know, internally."
Jones waved one hand, the other supporting his forehead.
"Er, sir?" said Collins, leaning forward, trying to catch the captain's eye. "How should we, you know, proceed on this? I don't think there's any precedent."
The captain bit back a groan. "No, there isn't. He was insistent that the Fentons, his parents, didn't do anything to him?"
"Yeah."
"But it still can't be- can't be healthy for a ghost or- or whatever he is to be there," said Jones. This was making his head hurt. "They have weapons, and even if it was an accident, he died and they- No one noticed!"
"That is pretty messed up," agreed Paterson.
"That's got to be child neglect, at least, right? Negligent homicide?"
Collins nodded. "We can't really charge them with that, though, can we? Not without revealing he's a ghost and getting the GIW and whoever stole the body coming down on us."
"That could just be something Phantom's saying, though," said Paterson. "We don't know if it's true or not."
"It felt true," said Collins. "He sounded like he was actually scared."
"But can we just let a kid- two kids, with his sister- be in a situation like that? Even if one of them is dead. Especially if one of them is dead. Or whatever Fenton, Phantom, whatever, is claiming to be."
"He didn't really claim to be anything, really," said Collins.
"Look, I already have a headache as it is. What it comes down to is, I don't want a kid to be living under the same roof as people who regularly and publicly shoot at him."
"So, what do we do?" asked Collins. "He doesn't want to leave, and I don't think we can make him, physically."
"No, we can't. But does he know that?"
"I think he's aware of his laser murder powers," said Paterson.
"He kept coming to talk to you, though," said Jones. He massaged the bridge of his nose. "There's something here..." Suddenly, it all came together. He clapped his hands. "He wants to keep his secret from the public, right? That's our leverage."
"Leverage?" asked Collins, dubiously. "Captain... he is still a teenager."
"I know, I know, but hear me out. We tell him, he has to let his parents know, and his parents, they have to make their house safe for him. If they're reasonable, they'll do it. If not, we can get them for, I don't know, going crazy and thinking their kid is a ghost, or having weapons all over their home. Obviously, he isn't. That's the position we'd maintain." Jones took a deep breath. "No need to expose him publicly, and, as long as he isn't, he'll have to act like he's human, right? If he wants to maintain the illusion?"
"I guess that would work," said Collins. "But... do we have to get child protective services involved? I don't see that going well."
"Not if everyone is reasonable," said Jones, a crazed look in his eyes.
"Hold up," said Paterson. "Doesn't this hinge on getting him to, you know, tell his parents?"
"Weapons. Home. Around children. And- We'll agree to bury the rest. Tear up documents. Hide everything. Cover for him. We already know what killed him. What's the point of bringing it into the light?"
Collins and Paterson both nodded slowly. "I'll call him," said Collins.
There was a knock on the door. The three glanced at each other.
"Come in," said the captain.
One of the officers stuck her head in. "Sir?" she said. "The mayor is here to see you."
.
Danny would have been at home, plotting with Jazz about how to get his body back, but, no, Skulker had to show up, again. He should have wrecked his suit instead of just sucking him into the thermos last night.
"Hah! Ghost child!" shouted Skulker. "Today I will have your pelt! I have new-!"
Danny screamed in frustration, the harmonics of his voice almost touching a ghostly wail. "Can you leave off about my pelt for like five seconds?" demanded Danny, attacking more aggressively than was his usual wont. One of Skulker's arms flew off his body, clattering on the tiles of a nearby roof. "Didn't you have enough of that, helping Vlad steal my corpse yesterday?" There, after days of dancing around the word, he had finally said it.
"Wait, your what?" asked Skulker, pirouetting awkwardly to avoid another barrage of ectoblasts.
"My. Corpse!" screamed Danny. "You helped him steal my corpse!"
"You don't have a corpse, you're still alive!"
"Shut up!" It was a good thing they were so far up. Even at the volumes they were speaking, they wouldn't be overheard. "You don't know anything! I'm half dead, so I have half a corpse, and I had to bury it, and then the police found it, and you helped Vlad steal it!" Danny was basically in tears at this point, hands clenching the metal of Skulker's chest so hard it buckled and warped, holding the unfortunate ghost above his head.
A number of complicated emotions passed over Skulker's face. "Uh," he said. "Time out?"
"What?" snarled Danny. He was more than ready to rip Skulker apart.
"Your body, whatever there is of it, did Plasmius really take it?"
"He basically gloated about it to my friends," said Danny.
Skulker's face twisted up, the metal plates it consisted of glinting in the sunlight. "Disturbing the remains of another ghost is... distasteful, at best." He shifted, obviously trying to get out of Danny's grip. Danny held on, tighter. "Let me go," he said. "I'll spread the word. There won't be a ghost in the Zone who'll work for Plasmius after this."
Danny sniffed. "I want it back," he said.
"Of course you do," said Skulker, nervously. "Just- let me go, alright, ghost child?" He paused. "Phantom?"
Danny relaxed his grip. Before Skulker could recover, he whipped out the thermos and sucked the other ghost in.
"I'll let you go," he grumbled. "Right into the Ghost Zone."
.
Jones did not like Mayor Masters. A complete outsider, a stranger to Amity Park, the man had somehow wormed his way into the mayor's office. Jones had always suspected bribery, but had no evidence.
This visit of his... it was suspicious. Incredibly suspicious. The timing felt rotten. Masters had barely set foot inside the station before this.
Well, the timing and the questions he was asking. Jones was glad he had told everyone to deflect questions about the body and Phantom beforehand, no matter who was asking.
Jones fixed a grin onto his face. "I'm sorry, Mr. Masters," he said. "We can't discuss ongoing investigations."
"I think," said Masters, "that, as mayor, I am exempt from that rule. I am, after all, your boss."
"That's true," said Jones, "but this case is especially sensitive, and everyone is a suspect."
"I can't possibly be," said Masters. "I didn't even live here two years ago. I believe you are dancing around the subject, sir. Let us not have our personal feelings get in the way of things, hm?"
This bastard- There was no way he should have known that particular detail. Not without suborning the ME or her assistant.
Or stealing the records. The initial reports had gone missing with the body, and the computer system had been hacked.
Jones pressed his teeth together so hard they ached. He could feel them grinding inside his head.
"Why don't I give you an overview of what we know so far?" he asked, voice as sweet as he could stand to make it. "We'll start with Cameron over here. He's the head of our cult division, and a real wizard with computers."
If anyone could drive the man off, it was Cameron.
.
"I didn't think babypop even had a corpse," said Ember, crossing his arms. "Are you sure he isn't just delusional?"
"He could be," said Skulker, "but that's not the point. He believes it. Do you really want to be dealing with him as a restless spirit?"
"Oh, god, no. He's already such a spoilsport. Can you imagine?" The blue flame her hair was drawn back into shuddered.
"I don't have to imagine," said Skulker. "He tore my arm off."
"He always tears your arms off," said Ember, dismissively.
"He's only going to get worse though," said Skulker, "if it really is his body. If Plasmius is doing anything to it. That anxiety. A person's body should be taken care of properly, not messed about with."
"Hey!" said Technus, who was on the other side of the room, fixing Skulker's mechanical body. "I donated MY body to SCIENCE! I'm perfectly fine."
"Yeah," said Ember. "Some people would disagree with that, but the thing is you chose to do that. Those're the rites you wanted."
"Do you think I, the great TECHNUS, master of all things technological and-"
"No, actually, I don't think you knew," said Ember.
"Ohhhhh! I'll alter all your auxiliary cables, you little-!"
"Can we get back on topic?" asked Skulker, his high-pitched voice cutting above the argument. "We need to get Phantom's body back! Otherwise he'll be completely unbearable!"
The ghosts looked at each other. "Agreed," they said.
.
Danny leaned over Tucker's shoulder. "Are you sure?" he said.
"Positive," said Tucker. "Sorry, man, but Vlad's super secret super villain stuff isn't online. Your body isn't mentioned at all. Nothing is. His internet enabled stuff is all pretty bland, compared to what we know he's doing. I mean, some of it is kind of sketchy, but it just isn't the same level."
"Anything we can blackmail him with?" asked Sam.
"Not really. We can't exactly say how we got it, after all, so he'd have plausible deniability."
Danny groaned. The groan turned into a long plume of blue mist. Danny growled. "Whoever is interrupting this time-"
"Whoa, calm down, man," said Tucker. "This is pretty normal."
Danny's phone began to ring. If this was those detective he was going to-
It was Jazz. "What?" he asked.
"The ecto-exodus alarm is going off," said Jazz. "Where are you?"
"Tucker's," said Danny. "I'm going to check it out."
"Be safe. Mom and Dad are out there with blasters, and they've notified the GIW."
"Noted," said Danny. He hung up, then turned to Sam and Tucker. "This is a big one, apparently. You might want to stay in."
"Good luck with that," said Tucker, pulling a ecto-rifle from beneath his desk. "I've been wanting to try this baby out."
"Please don't name it," said Sam.
"I think I will!" said Tucker.
"Just don't shoot if we're not fighting, okay? They might not be here to cause trouble. Don't give me that look, I'm trying out some optimism."
Before his friends could say anything about that, he flew up through the roof. From there, he had no problem picking out the crowd of ghosts who had just passed by.
Skulker was leading them. Danny scowled, and flew forward to intercept them, too angry to process whether or not confronting a group of ghosts that large was wise.
"Hey!" he shouted. "I thought you said you'd leave!"
"Chill, babypop!" shouted Ember. "You're a cold core, aren't you? We're here to get your body back."
That brought Danny up short. "Wait, really?"
The other ghosts, largely the rabble of the Wastes, the region of the Ghost Zone right outside the Fenton portal, gave a ragged sort of cheer.
"Yeah. And trash Plasmius's crap."
"Oh," said Danny, taken aback. "He has a ghost shield around his mansion, you know. A human shield, too, before you say I can get past that."
Poindexter floated up, over the mass of the crowd. "He can't keep them up all the time, can he?" he asked adjusting his glasses.
"No, I guess he can't. One sec." He pulled out his phone. "Hey, Tucker, can you find out where Vlad is right now?"
.
"... and these are the cults that believe ghosts are divine messengers, there's a lot of variety in them, too," Cameron was saying, pointing eagerly at his computer screen.
"Excuse me," said Vlad. "But I don't see how this is relevant. At all. To anything."
"Oh, it's very important," said Collins, nodding sagely. "We got some of our best leads in this case from the cults."
Cameron beamed.
"I am myself quite familiar with the local cults," said Vlad. "If they become relevant, I'm sure I can come back to-"
"No, no, Mr. Mayor," said Paterson, "you won't understand without context."
"I-"
Several dozen ghosts suddenly entered through the roof. Everyone dove for cover.
"Hiya, grave robbers!" shouted a ghost with fiery blue hair. Ember McClain. "Or one grave robber in particular."
Actually, come to think of it, she'd masqueraded as a human for a while, too. Collins was going to have a crisis about how easily ghosts could blend in with humans at some point in the near future. Not today, but before the end of the week. He'd need to talk to a shrink. Preferably one who wasn't a ghost.
Oddly, the ghosts weren't attacking.
The sound of Mayor Masters clearing his throat issued from behind a sizable desk. "What are you here for?" he asked.
"You know, grave robber. We've got a bone to pick with you, until you give back what you took."
A few feet away from Collins, Jones inhaled deeply. He stood up. Collins resisted the urge to drag him back down.
"We don't have Phantom's body," said Jones, "if that's what you're here for."
"We know," said Ember. "That's what this's about. We know who took it, and we don't want to deal with Phantom while he's freaking out over some jerk having his body. So. We're giving an ultimatum-"
"Hey, guys," said Phantom's voice. "I found the shield deactivation button. It was in his car, next to his garage door opener."
"Oh, cool. You trash his car?"
"Nah, I let these little gremlin dudes do it. They looked like they were having fun."
"Whatever, babypop. Let's go get your body!"
As quickly as they came, the ghosts were gone.
Mayor Masters swore, and started for the door.
"Hold up," said Jones, putting a hand on the taller man's shoulder. "Where exactly do you think you're going?"
"To call some competent ghost hunters, since those menaces are clearly after my belongings!"
"Nuh uh," said Jones. "We've got some questions for you."
"Yeah," said Collins, "like why you seem to think that they're going to your house, when they could have been talking about anyone."
"Wow!" said Cameron, smiling. "That was exciting! I'm glad I was livestreaming, like you told me to, Paterson!"
"Well," said Vlad. He paused. "I need to call my lawyer."
"Better make sure they're a competent one," mocked Jones.
.
Collins was surprised when Phantom materialized in the middle of the room with a long, dark plastic body bag in his arms. So were most people. Across the room, next to the coffee machine, one of his more caffeine-addicted coworkers do a spit take, and Jones burst out of his office in an avalanche of paperwork.
"I want a burial," said Phantom, finally. "A real one, this time."
Silence.
"I think I can arrange that," said Captain Jones.
