Tips from a gym rat with an ed:
- eat!!! your!!! protein!!! If you’re not getting enough protein your body will eat away at muscle and organ tissue instead of fat which is part of the reason so many people have health complications before they even get skinny
- do not be afraid of lifting weights! In fact, you should be lifting weights. It will prevent “skinny fat” and make it so much easier to look toned and skinny
- you CANNOT spot reduce fat! All those workouts that swear to tone your legs or burn stomach fat are BS. The way you lose fat relies completely on genetics. So while they may burn some calories, they won’t spot reduce fat and they are probably the least optimal way to workout. Opt for cardio or strength training!
- cardio is great, but if you only do cardio, again you’ll just get skinny fat. Instead, make sure you occasionally work out. And don’t worry about getting “bulky” or even gaining much muscle at all. If anything it just prevents you from losing muscle and instead burns fat
In summary, eat your protein, do some cardio, some weightlifting, and watch yourself lose all that fat!
