“i don’t want to talk to you right now, dal.”
“c’mon!” he whined, dragging out the ‘n’ as his eyebrows raised and his eyes downturned in a puppy dog manner. you looked back at the clock, currently 11:47pm and you assumed maybe five minutes earlier those noises you heard outside weren’t stray cats fighting, it was dallas trying to get the ladder to come up to your window.
today was horrible, it was your anniversary, and he had the audacity to forget and then show up at your house begging for another chance to get you to go out with him? at eleven-fucking-forty-seven?
you had to admit, his brown eyes always made you give in no matter how stern you tried to be. whether they were slanted with a vindictive cat like stare, or big and dopey like a sad kicked puppy. you just couldn’t say no to them, even if you tried to put your foot down, this was still the case.
“dallas—“
he cut you off with a huff of your name, “just twenty minutes, that’s all i’m askin’ for, jeez.” you rolled your eyes as his facade dropped, the innocent act quickly shifting back to his regular curt tough nature. but nonetheless, you couldn’t say no. dallas winston always got what he wanted.
you walked away, dally’s eyes trailing after your figure as you walked into another room. your silk nightgown glowed in the moonlight as the creases took on a darker color as they shaded themselves, the blue-ish hue illuminating the rest of your body as you slipped away. dallas scoffed as he was about to climb back down the ladder before he head a faint, “wait.”
his eyes flickered back, watching as you emerged from the other room, only this time, with each step you took came a small clack sound. dallas looked down to see you in your shoes as you held up your jacket to show him.
“only twenty minutes, right?”
“yeah, yeah.” he muttered, watching as the bare skin was covered up by a dark coat of fabric, the zipper glimmering a bit as the moonlight shone on the silver lining before you turned around and made your way downstairs.
“so extra.” dally whispered before he climbed back down the ladder, careful to observe the ground and his feet while he stepped down each bar. the metal was cool beneath his hands, the warmth radiating off him instead because of how much he stuffed his hands in his pockets. the ladder’s paint was chipping off, revealing a silver coat underneath as it creaked with each movement dal made before finally, he spotted you coming out through the front door, back hunched as you tip-toed out.
“this better be good.” you mumbled, shaking your head as dallas carelessly left the ladder against your window and took you by the arm. he led you across town, and you thought to yourself that maybe you should’ve worn pants as you looked at your bare legs sticking out from underneath your nightgown.
with the cool breeze and your free hand—the one that wasn’t wrapped around dallas’ arm—clutching your gown so it wouldn’t fly up, it felt like you two had been walking forever. only the crickets and owls accompanied you with their songs sung in the night as you both walked through the empty streets of tulsa, careful to be on the lookout for any socs driving around in their pristine mustangs with their cigarettes hanging from their hand outside the car window.
you two finally made it to a small summer green turf, planted cautiously behind a few shops in the tall grass so nobody would steal it. “now wait ‘ere.” dallas told you, flicking the bridge between your eyebrows where your nose started as he jogged over to what looked to be a small blanket.
you cocked your head in bemusement, watching as he brought out his lighter and popped the cap open, trying to flick it on. a string of curses escaped his lips as it took a minute to start, but once it finally did he leaned down and positioned his back to light something you wouldn’t see. you stood on your tippy toes as you tried to see above before dallas snapped the lighter shut, shaking his hand once or twice to get rid of the burn from keeping the lighter open too long, and turned around to walk over and grab you by the arm.
you smiled once you took in the sight, already seeing what dallas was planning when he dragged you over there. it was a small blanket, one so small it probably wouldn’t even have enough space for the both of you, with two candles in the middle and a few snacks like cookies and packs of fruit around them. you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear as dallas smoothed his hair back, licking his slightly chapped lips as he intently watched you for a reaction.
you simply glanced at him and nodded your head to the side, signaling for him to join as you took a seat on the blanket. it was just as you expected, barely big enough to fit the both of you on it, but you didn’t care. all the anger from the day melted away as you watched dallas twiddle his thumbs when he sat beside you, pressing his lips together awkwardly.
then the small candles blew out once a small gust of wind came over the two of you.
dally mumbled a few profanities as his hand made its way back in his hair, smoothing it out to get rid of the reminding feeling of how nervous—the slight sweat on his forehead making his hair stick to it.
but oh glory, when you let out a small laugh, the sound falling from your lips as smooth as honey, dallas could’ve sworn he had heart palpitations—even if he’d never admit it.
and when you looked at him, the blue moonlight shone on your face just right. the glossiness of your teeth and the highlights on your nose seriously made you look like a work of art, your eyes getting that small glimmer in them as their corners crinkled when you grinned. dallas almost died right then and there.
when you looked at him, watching as the corners of his lips—although subtle—twitched upwards at the sight of you, your smile just got even bigger.
it was comical to you. the man sitting in front of you was dallas winston. who would’ve known that when he wasn’t slashing tim shepard’s tires or stealing a few packs of kools from the convenience store, he would be sitting here in the moonlight on what his best affordable idea of a ‘picnic’ was with you. nobody could deny the fact that you had dallas winston whipped.
then you both proceeded to yelp as a stronger gust of wind started to blow away the small bags of cookies away, hurling yourselves over the blanket and clambering away to try to avoid the food flying off into the street.

So the thing is I wasn’t going to comment on the sixth episode. I just got home from a hella good play and I’m tired so I relax with Star Trek but holy shit
Tumblr media
What IS that
With that HELLO and welcome to my first thoughts on the sixth episode (The Enemy Within) of the original Star Trek series
Here we go:
- that is a fucking dog
- IS THAT BLOOD?!? On Star Trek???
- so he got transporter cloned.. WHY IS HIS FACE LIKE THAT THO
Tumblr media
- I like the fact it’s told a bit in retrospect, like it starts off with the star date and saying that at the time they didn’t know he got cloned
- MCCOY! His friendliness and then the “I have no sympathy for clumsiness” bro wha
- DONT YELL AT MCCOY
- McCoy not knowing what to do about Jim so he goes to Spock lol
- what the fuck is that fuckin thing, it’s rabid man.
- anytime someone is holding the creature there is literally no reason for them to be holding it. Like Kirk is just holding it and then HANDS IT TO SPOCK.. WHY IS THIS NORMAL NOW
- so do people casually just sit on tables here? First we had McCoy, now Spock. Is it just science/medical officers?
- Vulcan nerve pinch for the win
- POV your boyfriends are deeply concerned for your wellbeing (side note: bones looks so soft in the first pic. He cares so much)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- “you have a point, Spock.” “Yes. Always, doctor” STOP FLIRTING
- “If I seem insensitive to what you are going through, you must understand it’s the way I am.” HE SAYS THIS WITH ALL THE CARE IN THE DAMN WORLD. Spock is the most emotional character I have ever seen
- uh oh the circuits
- nooo Sulu! Do they not have better cold protection?
- YEAH I HOPE YOU’RE IN PAIN FUCKER
- so I think what they’re trying to promote is the idea that there’s the kind and indecisive side and the animalistic “sinful” side that has all the impulses and power to make decisions and together they work so that the former side can calm the latter to be more… civilized?
- “god forbid I have to agree with Spock” they’re married and you cannot convince me otherwise
- was that dog okay? Like it was really fuckin angry at something
- HES DEAD JIM MOMENT! WE HAVE A HES DEAD JIM MOMENT
- “for once I agree with you, doctor” THEY ARE MARRIED
- Spock is so riled up rn (every time he shows emotion I’m commenting on it because I think he is so so emotional but then his whole thing is he isn’t)
- SPOCK YOUR LOGIC ISNT LOGICING (having a human half and Vulcan half I think is a bit different than literally being split into two people, but what do I know)
- they are literally the angel and devil on his shoulder, but married, and also in love with him
Tumblr media
- what no no bring Sulu back. That was such a good delivery of lines I am so
- this episode shows the power imbalance between Kirk and Janice and that messaging could be more powerful if they really wanted. Like showing how Janice felt forced to say she was okay with it and wouldn’t tell anyone because it was the captain I feel was a big step to take in the 60s (because it was rarely if ever talked about especially on tv) but it still wasn’t enough and was treated horribly in the end. They brush off her experience and also let Kirk be near her which is not okay. I know they wouldn’t but I wish they’d actually addressed the fact that Kirk can pretty much get away with anything and the crew wouldn’t/couldn’t stop him unless they deem it truly necessary (which would be way to far)
- I think the Kirk stuff could be more impactful
- some of those close ups on Kirk are crazy
- Bones is so damn worried about him in the transporter room
- SPOCK IS STRESSED AND HE HESITATES
- “the imposters back where he belongs, forget him” but isn’t the thing is that he is you? Like he’s still there and apart of you, Kirk
Okay, that’s episode six. I don’t have much more to say about this episode.

Zutara Last Five Years AU (Pt. 7/12)
Read part 6 here:
-
A boat ride isn’t exactly what Zuko had planned for the night but he didn’t care. As long as he got to spend time with Katara, nothing else mattered to him.
”Yeah, that’s Avatar Roku. They made a statue of him before the whole war thing started. I’m surprised no one ever tore it down,” he softly spoke to his girlfriend. They were riding along a river that went through a lot of the fire nation.
”That one’s Azulon, there,” he pointed to another statue, a bit smaller. He had thought long and hard about tearing it down, the image of war flashing in his eyes whenever he saw the statue. But he knew it would do his nation no good to forget all the bed they contributed to, so he added a large card with information regarding everything Azulon contributed to around the statue.
”No, that’s actually an old school,” he corrected Katara when she pointed to a very large building.
“A museum is just down a couple blocks. Have you been inside? We should go.”
He continued to row the boat down the long river in silence. There was a small smile on Katara’s face.
“We’ve got ten minutes before we have to head back to the palace . What would you like to do? We can dock here and take a few moments to relax, or we could continue rowing?”
She looked up at the sky and then back down at him. “Whatever you want,” she said, laying her head on his shoulder. Although it was uncomfortable for him to row while Katara was up against him, he didn’t show any signs of discomfort. He loved this too much to make her go.
Maybe after these ten minutes finished, they would stay for another ten. The politics at the palace can wait.
And if she agreed to that, he would probably keep asking until the morning sun rose.
He will never feel complete until he shares these moments with her.
-
Katara kissed Zuko’s cheek. “I’m sorry I was late to this. I promise I wasn’t trying to I just- I know I’m going to be late to a lot of things, I lose track of time easily,” she chuckled, “but if you can just wait a few minutes for me, I promise I’ll always make it. No matter the cost.”
She had been late to the boat ride Zuko had planned for them. She felt horrible and continuously apologized to him. She did this a lot— be late. She always got so caught up doing whatever she was doing and lost track of time.
She sighed and dropped her head. “I really don’t try to do all this shit on purpose . You know that, right? And I’m certainly not proud of it. But anything other than being on time, I can do for you.”
Zuko laughed and kissed her back. “As long as you make it, I’ll never leave.”
Katara felt at home with Zuko.
”I don’t understand how other couples can’t make it work. And I don’t understand why so many people give up on their lovers so easily. You make me think they’re all stupid. It’s a horrible mindset, really. Or maybe it’s just because they don’t know you.”
Zuko laughed again and rolled his eyes. He made a comment about how maybe he should start lowering her standards and she tackled him. It felt so out of character for the two of them to be doing this, but also so perfect. She loved it.
When they were finally settled, Zuko took a moment to himself.
“Katara,”
She doesn’t remember much else other than gasping and yelling “Yes” so loud she was sure people from towns over could hear her.
-
Zuko was mentally beating himself up. He didn’t know when to do it, and the ring in his pocket started becoming more and more uncomfortable as their ride progressed. Finally, after a small talk, he ripped off the bandaid and got down on one knee.
”Katara, will you share your life with me for the rest of our lives? For a million summers, until the world explodes— forever? You’re so perfect, I can’t imagine my life without someone like you in it.
-
”Forever,” Katara repeated to herself, looking at the ring on her finger.
-
And in the blink of an eye, it was their wedding. The moment Zuko had been waiting towards for years.
Zuko spoke his vows aloud for who seemed like the entire Fire Nation. It was a large wedding that they had invited over one thousand people to.
”Until there is no one left who has ever known us when we were a part. Until only death do us part. I will never be complete without you. And I know damn well I’ll never be able to change this world without you by my side.”
and after a few more words were spoken, Katara and Zuko both said the words they were dying to speak since first getting engaged.
-
”I do.”
-
“Is that Avatar Roku?” Katara asked, pointing at a large statue in the middle of an even larger park.
Zuko gave a brief explanation on the statue, then pointed out one of Azulon who was significantly smaller but still in the middle of the same mark.
“Is that a church?” She asked as they passed by a large and beautiful building. It looked amazing, with small plants growing in front of it.
She sat with Zuko for a while. They laughed and flirted. She felt her heart beat with joy.
”Is that a museum? We I wonder what the Fire Nation artifacts look like.”

Characters (main): Doppo Kannonzaka, Reader (gender unspecified)
Pairing: Doppo/Reader
Synposis: You two met by chance and one thing after the other comes up ever since. This is your fated meeting with Doppo Kannonzaka.
Masterlist - Next Track
It was still in Doppo’s ears when he had entered one of the bars on his way home. Honestly, he probably would have headed straight home yet Hifumi was busy tonight with his host job, so there was no rush to return home. He honestly just wanted to forget, maybe drown his sorrows in one way or another. What other choice did he have at this point? None, really. Besides, forgetting for a little while would not be so bad, would it? Yeah, as long as he did not go overboard and found his way home. He had to take himself home after all so he couldn’t overdo it. And honestly… He didn’t have the energy to overdo it to begin with.
Soon he had entered the next best bar, the cheapest he knew at the very least, taking a few steps inside to sit on one of the bar stools, right at the counter of the bar. He let out a deep sigh as he did. The bartender had already spotted him. “Hey, haven’t seen you in a long time ‘round here.”
“Hello… I’ve been… Busy…” Was the salaryman’s response, very weak, defeated. Honestly, he just couldn’t bother with it any longer… The voice of his boss’s head was still echoing in his very own ear, very loudly. A little too loudly perhaps. It all always boiled down to being a ‘good for nothing’ yet getting all the workload on his desk, being worked to his bone. Then again, if he was to turn into a skeleton all of a sudden, the boss would still put the work on his desk or demand that he would be on time. Probably even call and scream “Kannonzaka!” from the top of his lungs and demanding that he would show up as soon as possible. That was just the type of person his boss was and said boss always managed to give Doppo a hard time.
The bartender seemed to know. “Busy hah? The old man’s treatin’ you like an animal as usual?” He had asked which was meant with a nod.
“Ya want the usual then?” And another quick nod from the salaryman. “A’right, ya got it. Be right back!”
And then Doppo had been left to his own devices yet again. And all he did was complain and sulk in his mind, having to hold back to curse from his mouth. And yet, he couldn’t. He found himself mumbling under his own breath, one thing after the other. “No matter what I do, it’s no use… I’m just the errand boy for everything now!” He mumbled, though also somewhat yelling. It was frustrating. And yet, there was nothing he could do at the end of the day. Nothing at all! “Everything… Even if I do a horrible job… I should be grateful to not have been replaced by now. A good for nothing. Only good enough to do the dirty work and nothing else… Yeah, nothing more. Just for the dirty work… Because if no one else will, let the burning trash do it… As if I could do any—”
Yet before he could get too deep into his speech someone interrupted him. He was silenced in one go, the voice having gotten his attention. It simply told him to calm down, yet in the way it was said had gotten him a little curious. So he turned his face, wanting to see who had been talking to him… Only to see you right in front of him.
At that point you were still a stranger to him, a face unfamiliar. He eyed your facial features, as if studying you closely for a moment. It was just to see if he had happened to come across you before in any way yet nothing. You were more than unfamiliar to him. Yet judging from your outfit, you were an office worker, similar to him. Though that was just his guess, he had not been certain. And yet, he had not the breath to ask nor the energy.
You were looking at him ever so curiously, asking what had gotten him so worked up to begin with yet no response. He was silent, not wanting to bother you with any of his problems. Even if you had asked, he just couldn’t do it. Besides, he already looked pathetic enough, so he didn’t even have to bother to explain himself. And yet, you seemed to press on, wanting to know what was going on. Especially since you had overheard him earlier.
It had put him on the spot, making it somewhat embarrassing. Wait… You have heard him so clearly… So very clearly that you could repeat some of his words, summarize what he had said. And each word made his desire to sink into the ground even bigger. Being heard like this, having opened his mouth… He should never have done that! Never!
And thus, he suddenly bowed while in his seat, over and over. “I’m sorry!” He repeated a few times, bowing each time quickly. He could not spot your reaction yet you seemed to let him for a few moments… That was until you put a stop to it yourself, grabbing him by his shoulders to put his body steady. He had been surprised, looking up as you had decided to reassure him, that he did not have to apologize that much if at all.
“But I bothered you, didn’t I? My words were annoying, I know that.” He tried to explain himself yet you denied it, saying something across the lines of ‘it’s alright to complain once in a while’. You seemed to agree on one thing, that the workplace could be a pain in the ass, thus developing a desire to no longer work where you are.
“Huh? You too?” It came out of his mouth in a bit of a shock, more a surprise if anything. And you nodded in agreement, then continued with your own example. Whichever it was you chose to talk about, some annoying co–worker or your boss who was a pain in the ass. Or the demands others had of you despite being only one person, and thus shoving as much of the workload as possible onto you. In the end the same conclusion could be drawn – It was alright to let off some steam. So you were willing to hear him out, weren’t you?
Though he had not expected it, given how you presented yourself, a bit of a contrast to him. Doppo himself looked sleep deprived, a little pale, as if on the brink of falling asleep. You looked nowhere near his state, or at least a little more awake than him. More like his other co–workers, so he had been a little caught off guard hearing any of that. Of course no workplace was perfect but this much trouble? “I… I see. Sounds rough…” Except it’s more than sounding rough… It is rough!
But you kept on encouraging him, wanting him to unwind a little. He didn’t know why, given that the two of you just met. Maybe you sympathized with him a little? It was a possibility yet he could not be sure. After all, how was he supposed to read your mind? And yet, he seemed to relax a little more, becoming more and more aware that maybe complaining a little bit should be fine…
That was until a drink slid across the counter, the glass hitting the side of his arm. He shrieked for a moment, as if having been startled yet he turned, seeing the bartender once more. “There ya go boy. Wait’s been long enough, hasn’t it?” He asked yet one could see a slight grin on his face. Did the bartender watch or something? Doppo couldn’t help but wonder. Because said bartender usually didn’t take that long. In fact, he never took long at all. So did he not want to interrupt? Wait, why was Doppo questioning so much today? Maybe it was the unusual developments of this evening. At least that had been his best guess.
And before knowing it you insisted on putting this on your own tap. The salaryman wanted to stop you yet you seemed to refuse taking no for an answer. Repayment? Him telling you all about his painful day, no questions asked! And he didn’t have much of a choice, he had to do it!
And yet, maybe letting it all out wouldn’t be so bad. After all, his own hard work usually brought no results… Unlike this conversation.

Whatcha thinking about rn?
i like horror, but you know what i like more than horror? what happens after the horror. what happens to the ones who survive.
an experience like that leaves you pretty messed up, especially if the events were in some way supernatural. like what are you gonna do when a demon kills all your friends? the cops show up and find you covered in blood, surrounded by bodies and you’re gonna tell them it was a demon? a monster? a ghost? there is no way they’ll believe you. and if they don’t think it was you, you’ll probably get institutionalized for telling people what really happened.
but if you choose to lie, keep the magical business a secret, you’re left with this horrible truth rotting a hole into your mind. you can reason away the events, try to forget it, but something like that will never really fully leave you. maybe you manage to block out at least the ghost parts, but those memories, that fear, will always be lingering in your subconscious. you will always, in the back of your mind, know.
and you’re suck with this. alone. everyone else who would fully believe you is dead. anyone you tell might apprehensively listen to your story, but they can’t fully believe you. how could they? they weren’t there. they didn’t see it all. but you did. only you did. you’re alone in this truth, no one to tell, no one to talk to who would really listen.
it’s a special kind of loneliness, the isolation that comes with such a burning secret.
(tma the lonely tma the lonely???? i could talk a lot most abt how this ties in specifically with the lonely from the magnus archives)
the horrors you experienced cast a shadow over your whole life, your whole future. what’s the point of anything if there are demons and monsters and horrible evil things beyond mortal human powers? college certainly seems insignificant in the face of an eternally hungry evil.
it’s interesting to see how traces of these themes show up in media that isn’t horror as well. children’s media where the teen main character discovers another world? so often in those stories, keeping this discovery a secret from their family and the rest of the world is a major point of distress. We see them bonding with people in this new world, but when they inevitably have to return to their own dimension, of course it’s so much harder for them to connect with their peers or participate in normal activities. befriending jessica seems a lot less significant now that you’ll never be able to share with her this place that is so important to you. history class or ballet lessons dont seem so useful when you’re learning to cast spells with your new fairy friends.
in more recent media(i’m thinking of two specific cartoons that i won’t name bc spoilers), the main characters share a lot more with their family and friends, and they’re mainly very supportive and loving which i find really nice. it helps the main character feel grounded in their own world and less isolated.
anyway back to horror movies, so many of them cut off right after the “final girl” is saved, which i think is a real shame. i knowww i know the main plot is over and the after stuff isn’t really necessary but MAN is it interesting. show me the survivor going back to school and not being able to find words for what happened when someone asks. show me them debating how much to tell their family and friends. show me them trying to return to normal and ignore how everything feels hollow. show me them struggling and healing and falling apart. pls and ty.
(also like two hours ago i saw a guy with the LONGEST pair of wireless earbuds i’ve ever seen and i’m still reeling from how strange they looked)

alias season 3 is not even close to as good as seasons 1 and 2 (what is) but what I love is it's so MAD. from everyone else’s perspective sydney bristow came back from the dead; from sydney’s perspective, which is also ours, she woke up one day and found out two years had passed and everything was different. everyone wants her to smile and be gentle and instead she seethes. I will never ever forget the feeling of being 14 years old and expecting her to say yes of course I'm fine when vaughn came to check on her, only for her to eviscerate him and tell him she's doing horrible and by the way he was a bad boyfriend for not believing she was alive after they identified her dead body in the charred remains of her apartment. that one rewired my brain. it was better that she was barely making sense. women didn't have to be small; women could be fucked up in a way that takes up space. sydney's a brilliantly realized character in the first two seasons of alias — she's self-righteous alongside her vulnerability, and as smart as she is she gets rash and illogical whenever it gets personal — but the way she and the show keep so many balls in the air dazzles you into thinking she's always going to be able to cope this well. and then in season 3 she kind of comes back from the dead wrong. but not really back from the dead and not really wrong, because she's just keeping it real. she's being a little mean. she picks fights with her ex-boyfriend's new wife and admits "I hate her." and when her ex needs her help fixing the problems he caused, sydney stands in front of him in sunglasses with her arms crossed. cool! ALSO!!! her evil ex-boss has rehabilitated his image and is now a global humanitarian because bad men are given infinite second chances no matter how many bodies their empire is built upon. but sydney won’t forget. she literally has no memory of his rehabilitation, and neither do we, and she's not buying it, and neither are we. it’s a vacuum in the narrative. he asks her to believe he's done the work and she says no when no one else will. and isn't that how the whole world feels.
it’s a season of almost complete isolation in the wake of this violent series of violations: her body, her mind, her home, her relationship, and now she’s even being told she should be nicer to the man who killed her fiance and her best friend. and I’m not letting the writers off the hook for one of those violations (they took her ova), but the way the season and the show are anchored in her perspective is emotionally visceral in a way that covers a few sins. when sydney was a child she was hardwired not to be brainwashed (trained by her father, one of the only men she actually gets closer to in season 3 — a violation circling back around to being the only kind of love she knows) and I think alias is sort of like that. it’s so hardwired to tell the story from sydney’s point of view that even when it isn’t totally facing the consequences of the plot (she gets one episode to cry that they took her ova) they’re still deeply felt. one thing alias always understands is the cruelty of expecting a woman to smile through her suffering, so the more she suffers the angrier the show intuitively gets. so sydney just goes around biting people’s heads off

ok ok imo there was defo some planning to the bees becoming canon and to deny that is kinda silly to me. that doesn’t mean that planning and eventual execution was good.
•Yang losing her arm is apparently a “sign of her love for Blake” because of that line Adam had in V3? …I thought y’all despised his ass, when did we start believing a word that came out of his mouth??
•On that note, paralleling the two, when the latter was literally the abuser of the former’s current gf, is…..😬
•Also on that note, the objective infantilizing of Blake. All she really does now is whimper and be meek around Yang until another “bee moment” or until the plot remembers to use her for something. Yes, because turning this once feisty character into this shy nervous little meow meow who can’t even fight on her own anymore after she’s revealed to have been an abuse victim is totally not gross.
•Yang prioritizes her new GF over her little sister who is clearly in a horrible headspace, and when she finally breaks down, instead of attempting to calm her down or console her she steps in front of a COWERING BLAKE and just says “Hey!”. YOU TWO ARE BOTH OLDER THAN HER WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS
•The scene in which they finally confess was literally forced out of them by a storm. I…I thought we learned to not do this? Guys? Um…
•The 10 year queerbaiting smugly disguised as “planned from the start uwu” that Voltron Legendary Fucking Defender wishes it could have achieved. Does that mean it was always planned that you’d write your hatesink character to have been a branded child slave? Does that mean it was always planned that you’d write the confession of these two’s love for each other to have been forced out of them? Does that mean it was always planned that you’d confirm your main queer couple two episodes before said couple did nothing to save their 17 year old leader from taking her own life on screen?
•Saying the quiet part out loud when an employee tweeted that “The bee kiss alone hopefully green lights V10.”
•Also, the immediate merchandising of it. Ugh.
Before I go on, no I do not believe the bees were “forced diversity”. No I do not believe Adam was killed to push it (he was killed because the writers wanted a quick way for people to forget how abhorrently racist this show fucking got anyways). No I do not believe this is a bad pairing, and if you accuse me of being an [insert hetero Blake/Yang ship here], I ship fucking Monochrome and Thundercats, dude. But what about the rest of this show’s LGBT representation? Is it any b
No.
•Our first on screen rep is in the form of Ilia. I really like Ilia, genuinely, she’s honestly one of my favorite characters. But why did they write their first lesbian character in the “psycho lesbian” trope? Also, why did their first indigenous character start out as a villain who had to be redeemed by learning violent protest bad all lives matter and ANYWAYS—
•Coco leers at women and her allusion is a fucking Nazi. She sucks. •The wives from V6 (Terracotta-Arcs??) are fine. Probably the most decent rep we’ve got, even if they were just a one off thing. They’re cute and I’m happy for em. Slay.
•We’ve got a single gay man in the entire cast (Scarlet) and he’s confirmed in a book. A single gay dude in a show infamous for its character bloat. Obviously we know why but man.
•3 non-binary characters. 1 is in a spin-off, 2 are animals. In this latest volume in which the last two are present, one is revealed to be a villain, and the other goes out Green Mile style. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay….
•And lastly, May. I also do like May! However, her character is not the problem.
What is the problem with all of this, no mater what, is the people, company, making this show.
Rooster Teeth is not your friend. Rooster Teeth does not care about you, or putting that loving care into representation.
Why are half of the villains disabled? Why are half of the villains in universe minorities? Why are half of the villains POC? Why are half of the villains a combination of two or all three of those traits?
Why is the only freedom fighting, minority rights organization terrorists? Why does their WOC leader die the scene we meet her? And why is her killer revealed to have been in fucking slavery the same episode he dies on screen in? And why is this organization taken as a serious threat, while two openly racist antagonists are portrayed as goofy and comical?
Why are any and all plus-sized characters portrayed as jokes? Why does the disabled-coded girl get her disability ripped away from her so she can “truly be human”? Why does another disabled character have him losing an arm to mean he’s lost his humanity? Why does this show portray so many misandristic tropes? Why does this show portray so many misogynistic tropes?
Why was this show’s first LGBT character a villain? Why was the next based off a Nazi? Why are two out of their three non-binary characters animals, and why have those two either been “killed” or turned into villains? Why is there only one gay man in this huge cast?
And why is it so many just let it slide that, while before and during the production of the volumes featuring the show’s first transgender character, Rooster Teeth treated and abused that character’s VA like absolute garbage?
Are the lives of those real people less important than those sweet, sweet “bee moments”?
In conclusion, the bees were not forced. I am glad they are canon. But I am not glad that it has nearly managed to conceal all the deplorable shit the racist, homophobic and awful company behind it has done.

I’m loving the DaveJade spree you’re reblogging right now because as I read Homestuck I came to realize that DaveJade is the best Human x human ship in the comic. Both characters look out for each other, but with opposite ways if expressing it. Jade is much more energetic and giddy in her talks with other characters, replying to other characters with a “<3” at the end of their conversations, taking an interest with Dave the most, getting all flowery referring to him as “cool kid” meanwhile Dave is more stoic and level and goes on tangents a out Bec and her living surroundings, but still enjoys deeply participating in Jade’s interests and company. Dave sent Jade a SBAHJ furry poster for god’s sake, he did furry roleplay, he let Jade take his life in her hands to enter his session (even if he really wanted Jade to stay awake during the whole thing.)
And the second part is how they cover up their true feelings, Jade is normally optimistic and cryptic from her visions of the future, and stays open eyed and brave during most of the first half of the comic, until she’s pushed to the brink such as meeting Jadesprite, and more important here, Dave’s session beginning. Dave took the process deadly seriously (AS HE SHOULD) and that led to Jade becoming a little frustrated, but ultimately complicit and concentrated on Dave’s apartment, since she really knew Dave needed to be safe and was a major responsibility.
Dave as I already expressed, shows affection by what he does, not what he says. He did all these things nice for Jade and wanted to generally just hang around on pesterchum with her, but usually went on tangents over things Jade surrounded herself with because he was never really raised to be open about emotions, he was raised by the greatest mall ninja in the history of the universe, emotions could be a weakness by bro’s code, he has to be a straight up super skilled knight to even be ready for the shitshow of Sburb, not a kid with a crush. But after all the hell Bro gave to make him ready, all the dead Daves, all the ironic back and forth between him and John and taunting by Lil Cal, Dave still had feelings, because he’s human.
And Dave can confess emotions, even if ironic, Dave did sarcastically tell John how much he was “totally fine” with Bro’s smuppets and even in a conversation back in Act 2 or 3 straight up said “I love you” to John, only because he’d hope John would cast off the confession as an ironic and jokey “bro thing” the two were having between each other (and to be fair John did dismiss this ironic cinfession)
To wrap it all up Dave is a bisexual hero, and despite the surface level DaveJade being very “preppy girl loves mysterious stoic guy” archetype Dave and Jade have complexities beyond their surface level personalities and quirks, DaveJade is better than Davekat.
People take Jade being a bitch too seriously and think she had always been like this. The nu-fandom forgets that at that point, she had to deal with a rude Karkat, and her access to Prospit's knowledge were gone. So she was on her own what to do and her future was left in the fate of Skaia. And she would soon be MIND CONTROLLED by The Condesce as Grimbark. It's not fully her personality if someone is taking over. But I guess people think people who were mind controlled TOTALLY CONSENTED to do those horrible deed. Just ask Jade, Sollux, Tavros, Terezi, and all those dead trolls that were fed to Vriska's mom. And if people think her moments of narcolepsy (sleeping moments) would lead to Dave getting killed when she tried to help him, people forget that it was still VRISKA purposely making her sleep. It was intentional that she uses Jade to test her mind power abilities to put humans to sleep to gauge how strong she can do it before using it on John to fully create her unstoppable monster, Bec Noir. If anything, it was Vriska's fault she made Jade fall asleep many times because she was using her as a TEST SUBJECT. But sadly, this is the fandom that thinks Vriska did nothing wrong.

Linkle, I must know, what are your thoughts on Mori as a character? His actions and motivations?? Id love to hear your opinion, btw that last chapter of cherish was great!! I loved it so much!!!
Ahhh hello there, anon, thank you so much! 🥺😭💕💖🥰 It’s such an honor to get a message like this from someone who is reading the fic. 💕🥺💖🥰💕🥺💖🥰 I’m so glad you liked Chapter 12; it definitely has one of my own personal favorite scenes, tbh (but I won’t take up your time talking about that right now lol). Having a fan base for Cherish is truly lovely; I’m so blessed by each and every one of you. 🥺💖
As for your question, I’m always happy to share!
Before I say anything at all on my opinion, though, I’m first going to make it clear that I am completely setting aside that one…particular matter that has been discussed to death by the fandom for the moment, because I fear far too many people tend to forget that it is entirely possible to make any remotely positive commentary on a fictional character without that actually somehow meaning you condone his alleged…preferences. For the people in the back that need to hear this out loud to be set at ease: I in absolutely no way do.
Now with that out of the way for a bit, let’s talk about the rest of Mori. I’ll throw it under the cut, though, both for length and for potential spoilers of multiple light novels (Dark Era, Fifteen, Storm Bringer, etc.) and obviously the manga up to his last appearance in current arc. Oh and obviously the typical Mori-related trigger subjects. Yeah.
Honestly, on a general note, these days I think Mori as a character is super cool; I’m not sure where precisely I’d rate him on the list of characters because I honestly like nearly every character in BSD and think they’re pretty awesomely written, but on a general scale of 1 to 10, he’s a very solid 8 or 9 for me.
My first introduction to him was…admittedly not at all the best possible representation of him.
When I first joined the fandom, I began my journey through the series by watching the anime adaption of Dark Era, at the behest of a dear friend who said I would be best off doing so before I watched the rest of the show (of which there were only two seasons at the time) and then reading the manga, in order to get the best and most meaningful experience; it is not something I remotely regret, and in honesty, I would probably wholeheartedly recommend any new people to do the same, if they intended to start with the anime. Regardless, though, this decision did have the impact of making me immediately strongly dislike Mori as a person from the very start, given what he did to the orphans, Oda, and Dazai by extension.
Really, I wouldn’t say that I came to see him in any particular shades of grey motivation-wise until I watched the episode titled Double Black, in which there was the first reference of what would have become of the Port Mafia and Yokohama as a whole had he not usurped the throne to the organization so many years ago.
After that, I began to look at him with a bit more understanding and curiosity, horrible and ruthless though his nature may still mostly have been. Fifteen (specifically the light novel, NOT the anime) — which it should be said, I think is the best existing canon representation of Mori in terms of giving us a good look at his thoughts and motivations — only amplified that outlook and interest for me, and I think it alone is largely to thank for why I enjoy him as a character as much as I do in current time.
Although he’s definitely not someone I’d feel particularly comfortable writing an entire story solely around — as I don’t believe I’m expert nor absurdly passionate enough to do so compared to some genuine Mori fans that I know are out there out there — I nevertheless really, really do enjoy writing him, especially in Cherish (which is only the second time I’ve written him, if I’m honest — at least, in anything I’d consider publishing, anyway).
There’s just so much potential in him plot and personality-wise; he is incredibly flexible of a person in terms of his thoughts, mannerisms, motivations, and actions, which makes it super fun to explore and play around with when telling a story. I’d say he easily has one of the most fun personalities among the BSD ensemble, purely because of utterly unpredictable it can be; on one hand, he has moments where (at least outwardly) is capable of being extremely friendly, outgoing, generous and unassuming, and yet on the other, he is very much always inwardly observant of all that is going on around him and capable of quickly switching to being cold, calculating, and openly cruel at the drop of a hat. But even then, usually, his cruelty doesn’t come in the form of physical violence; it’s often emotional manipulation, intimidation, taking your fears and weaknesses and using them against you to get him whatever he feels he needs in the present moment. Sometimes, it isn’t even outwardly visible that the switch of gears happened; he knows how to poison you in the sweetest and most unassuming yet effective way possible — whether that poison is literal or metaphorical. He’s definitely the kind of person who could sing you to sing to sleep every night and kiss your cheek every morning even as he’s secretly plotting your demise. lol
That being said, I think a lot of the fandom, in their hatred for him as a person, tends to mischaracterize him a lot, rather than looking at it objectively. I’ve seen a lot of fics and general fandom takes that portray him as a sadistic person who is cruel simply for the sake of being cruel and does terrible things to others purely for the enjoyment factor, but that is 100% not who Mori is; canonically, Mori does what he does mostly, if not entirely, out of what he feels is necessity as the leader of the organization. Now, I’m not saying there may not be parts of him that enjoy certain things he does — it’s certainly more than possible, and even highly probable — but his actions as godfather are driven by achieving what he feels is the optimal solution, not by personal pleasure and amusement; as a matter of fact, in Fifteen, he even made it clear when speaking to Chuuya that he fully acknowledges a lot of what he does is morally reprehensible — he just feels that it is his duty to commit these atrocities for the ‘greater good’ of the organization, and that the end therefore justifies the means.
The thing is, there is a character in BSD who is exactly the way this portion of the fandom characterizes Mori, and he was even a member of the Port Mafia, so if people really wanted to canonically explore this dynamic of a character who wholly gets off on tormenting people, causing suffering and probing others’ heads rather than doing it as just a business practice, they absolutely could still do it and be true to canon by writing about said other character; it’s just that it’s not a convenient truth that a lot of the fandom wants or likes to face — because that would mean acknowledging that it was everyone’s beloved Dazai and not the oh-so-despised Mori who used to think in such a sick and twisted way during his days in the criminal underworld.
Granted, some people do write both characters very well and very accurately, and I applaud them, but I do find it frustrating when the fandom reduces either Mori to this purely evil, sadistic villain who is bad just for the sake of being bad, because he is so much more interesting as he truly is in canon.
It’s this dichotomy where his dedication to the overall well-being of his people and company is admirable and even understandable, yet at the same time his individual actions when you look at them from a moral perspective are pretty much all morally reprehensible in some way, shape, or form — if not in every way. The same is true of his time in the army; as a general concept, his desire to protect Japan during the Great War was on the whole admirable and understandable, we know that he was well-meaning about it, but at the same time, no matter how desperate the situation was, what he did to Yosano and his entire army was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable — especially because it came so easily to him to do it and he made no apologies for it nor expressed any guilt over the suffering he caused later on.
Do I think Mori is, on the whole, a good person? Absolutely not. Do I think that he sometimes has the best of intentions in mind with his schemes? In the grander scheme of things, yes; it’s just that he mostly doesn’t care who or how many he has to hurt to achieve that so long as it’s slightly less than his net gain from doing it, which in turn cancels out things enough to prevent him from ever being labeled as being or acting as a “good person” at any moment.
I think the best, most objective description of him is to say that he’s pragmatic and ruthless.
…And then obviously there’s the part that everyone in the fandom discusses to death — about the main universe version of him being into little girls. Not a whole lot to say about that; it’s gross, it’s wrong, it’s unforgivable, it’s morally reprehensible, and it’s chilling and disturbing and it definitely completely disqualifies him from being labeled a good person even if he had been able to earn that title from something he did somewhere along the way.
That being said — and I know this is probably going to be controversial to a lot of the fandom, so let me say upfront that I’m not saying that that isn’t 100% a valid and understandable reading of who he is and the way he feels based on all the evidence throughout the series, nor am I trying to convince anyone otherwise — purely because it is fiction and therefore all made up to begin with, at least for my own personal comfort, I typically choose in my own personal readings to just look at him as someone with a particular weakness for little girls because he’s fatherly — although I make no effort to claim that to be the objective truth, nor does such interpretation affect or influence any of my writings in any way; it’s simply the way I prefer to engage with BSD on my own personal time — outside of my writings.
As a matter of fact, in my one fic, Bittersweet Belief, he was intentionally written with the intention of being portrayed as a groomer, and in Cherish, his ‘tastes’ will be portrayed no less nor more suspicious than how they are in canon, and therefore it will never be fully, directly addressed, but may be interpreted however you wish.
I do not need people coming to me providing evidence of why they believe there is no way to look at it differently, as again, I am not arguing that it is objectively untrue in any way that Mori is written to be a pedo in BSD, and when in public spaces among other people talking about it I don’t even try to say otherwise, much less convince anyone of it. I understand fandom etiquette and I am not trying to erase anything about him from others’ perceptions in order to make him more “likable”. I am just engaging with BSD, whenever I am personally reading it and watching it, in the way that is more comfortable for me. Nothing more, nothing less.
Anyway, yeah, Mori’s a super fun character to write and observe in the BSD world! I think there’s a lot of depth to him and he’s very well-written — probably among my top past antagonists purely for the super interesting personality and the purely pragmatic outlook to life and business.

pauuuuuuuuu i’ve got a question. i understand that you enjoy supernatural, so could you explain to me the whole destial thing? i’m like, fairly close to caving and committing myself to 15 fucking seasons of them and dean from gilmore girls (who i fucking hate(the character not the actor)) so like, i wanna know what i’m getting myself into, cause the only stuff i know is the meme that’s always going around, and that everyone and their mother is obsessed with dean winchester
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD @weeping-in-the-willows WE'VE DONE IT!!!
okay andi here we go its gonna be LONG (thats what she said?)
Destiel is a ship between two main characters, Dean Winchester, who is a monster hunter, and Castiel, who is an angel of the lord. Although Cas does not appear until season 4(?), when he does it's clear there's something going on between the two men (boys?), and, whether or not it's intentional, there's a LOT of gay subtext. I think they suffer a lot but it's worth it for the very few moments they get to enjoy, and you value them so much more which makes it so enjoyable.
As for Sam Winchester (Dean Forester), he's a young man with daddy issues who never met his mom and decided that instead of having that horrible monster hunter life he wanted to go to Stanford and study law and have a great academically successful life (Sam and Rory Gilmore would be best friends). He's a sweet, kind, smart, driven, ambitious (and hot) 22(!) year-old who would never voluntarily hurt a fly. Obviously life had other plans for him but what happens to him is up to you. Now, I will say that I'm not the biggest mid-series seasons Sam fan, but I think early Sam was one of my first fictional crushes and I still think of him fondly. His favorite singer is secretly Celine Dion.
Dean Winchester also has daddy issues but as in yes-dad-I'll-do-everything-you-say-so-that-you-love me-while-his-dad-still-loves-sam-more daddy issues (which I know all too well not not the time nor place), whereas Sam was more like "No dad, this is YOUR dream". Dean is like that jackass who thinks he's this huge deal and he think he's really hot and smart and always right, which is infuriating because it's true. But really imagine a giant teddy bear with a flannel. that's Dean Winchester. It's a bit funny but for him the most important thing ever is his family and he will fight with all his might to save it, blood or found, he will die for them over and over again with no regrets, except that one where his daug we don't talk about that. He's also incredibly funny, he likes Frozen and dad rock and pie.
Cas is an angel who very often forgets that. Funny thing about this guy is that they first portray him as like this scary creature, he's the most powerful thing they've ever faced and he's so intimidating but once they get to know him he's really just like if an alien saw a hot guy and went "that one". He talks to cats sometimes.
About the show itself, the firsts seasons they think they're like this moody, serious show, but as it goes on it quickly turns into a comedy. They meet Scooby-Doo once. There's a musical. Doctor Sexy wears cowboy boots. Dracula. Ghostfacers!
Now, I wouldn't go as far as "recommending" it to someone, but if i could start clean and had the choice to watch it again for the first time, I'd tell them put me back in it, and I would cry and curse and suffer, but I'd go through it again.
And that is all, unless Willow wants to add something?
Also I would avoid the last episode, I would not watch it if I were you, I wish I never saw it and I pretend it doesn't exist, it is not canon if I say it is not and I refuse to recognize it as such. Thank you.

Juvia for the character bingo?
Tumblr media
I adore Juvia, I’m the only one who can speak about her and I know her better than anyone, even Mashima himself.
No, ok, of course I'm kidding, but premise: if you are a Juvia-and-Gruvia stan, this post is not for you, because I don't care about the version of a perfect and adorable Juvia who deserves the world because she's pretty and never done nothing wrong in life etc. Likewise, if you're a Juvia-and-Gruvia hater, this is no place for you, because I literally don't care if you think she's a horrible canon person who deserves to die and disappear off the face of the earth.
If you are Juvia stan and Gruvia hater (I know you exist somewhere), this is the place for you (or if you are indifferent to Gruvia, or if you like it but you are not avid shippers proclaiming Juvia as the ideal girl. Actually, idfc what you think about the ship, I just know that shippers and antis generally think in compartments and don't want to question anything, so if you belong to one or the other category, go on and see other posts).
So, now let's make two things clear before starting the discussion.
Juvia is not a lovely girl, nor is she a good person. Juvia is a fucking messed up person who has good intentions, but having not lived in a good place most of her life she has unhealthy relationships with many people, highly questionable behavior, and a very bad relationship with herself. She is also a strong and cruel woman who can kill, she will and she has already done. And despite all that, she deserves the love, but more importantly, she deserves a fucking painstakingly detailed development arc (and no, if you tell me there's no forgiveness for her, Ill get pissed, everyone have had a development arc, Jellal, Laxus, Gajeel, Cobra, Sting, etc. but Juvia doesn't deserve it? Don't even talk to me).
I won't explain all my ideas about her in this post, otherwise it would get very long because trust me, I have an Odyssey in mind, but basically:
Juvia is a girl in love with the idea of love. She has lived her whole life alone and desperately wants to make friends and find her life partner, so as soon as she meets someone who is even a little bit nice to her, she becomes morbidly attached, as indeed she did with Gray. But she doesn't just do it with him, she also does it with her friends, so Lucy, Cana, Erza, and other people in the guild. As soon as someone extends a finger of hers, she takes the whole arm and craves that affection that she always sees in others. At the same time, she's not good at showing affection in the normal way, so she does weird things, and usually she's overly pushy and willing to literally go out of her way to get anyone to accept her. She sacrificed herself for Cana, so yeah, she would literally do anything, and she doesn't understand the limits of people, so as long as someone gives her something, she takes, takes and takes. She is also very insecure of herself, so it doesn't take much, a miserable 'no' and she risks going back to being the lonely rain woman and that she annoys everyone with the weather she brings with her. When this happens, she leaves the guild because she is afraid to annoy her guildmates and return alone (Lucy and Natsu always join her and stand by her in those moments).
She has a complex relationship with Gajeel, but he's also probably the only real friend she has, at least in the beginning, because she doesn't feel this need to continually affirm her affection for him. She's not even afraid of him leaving, because Gajeel has already seen the worst of her in Phantom Lord, and he's stayed, and she knows that he will stay by her side because he's one of the few people who understands her. (Then Cana will also become friends with her in a similar way).
She is an unnervingly strong sorceress, let's not forget that she was an S-class level in Phantom Lord. She was cruel too, she killed people with the Water Lock, and she wouldn't hesitate to do it if she saw something that reminded her of her childhood.
Speaking of her childhood, she was awful. From an early age she was considered a cursed child because she brought rain everywhere, for this reason her parents put her in an orphanage. She had no idea, and after spending her early years in an orphanage with everyone staying away from her and bad-mouthing her, she went looking for her parents. She hoped to reunite with them but when she found them, they did not recognize her, and badly kicked her out of the house saying never to be seen again. She moved to a village and tried to live alone, but still everyone annoyed her and told her to leave. One day someone annoyed her so much that she seriously injured him by trapping him in a water bubble and suffocating him. Since then, she has escaped from there.
She tried to remove the magic herself, with dangerous methods that put her life at risk, but it was unsuccessful (I have a whole arc in mind on this omg). She even pushed herself too hard with her magic that she nearly died. Probably in a very dark period of her life she also thought about ending it. This until she entered Phantom Lord. There, for the first time, she found a place that accepted her, and she immediately understood that the stronger she was, the more she was accepted. That's why she trained hard and became ambitious, she wanted to surpass all wizards, she thought that as she got stronger, she would have more friends. And more or less, that's how Phantom Lord worked. She was also able to use her power to its fullest, because nobody cared to use good methods, she could kill and she did it without hesitation, especially when she saw cruel people who reminded her of her parents or the people who they bullied. She felt somehow at home.
She then entered Fairy Tail, and for the first time she saw the sun thanks to Gray, which is why she thought that Gray was her life partner and so she became attached to him.
From here my version completely changes from the canon, or rather, initially it's similar with her becoming obsessed with Gray (but not only with him, also with Lucy and Cana and the other guildmates), then as she goes on making mistakes, understands how to actually build a true and healthy friendship. She learns to love herself and to understand what she really wants other than 'not to be alone', and discovers that she is actually very ambitious, she wants to be strong, she likes to be strong, not just because she likes admiration, but precisely because she likes to be able to protect her loved ones. She's always fucking creepy when someone touches her loved ones, like, you know the scene on Tenrou where she's fucking creepy when Meredy talks about killing Gray? Well, yes, Juvia is like that, only not just with Gray, but with everyone in the guild, touch someone dear to her and she will kill you, absolutely and without remorse.
She also remains a romantic, a person who adores small gestures of affection, a clumsy, she loves children but never knows how to behave with them, she is a very manual girl, she knows how to paint, but above all she knows sewing clothes or building accessories, girls always come to her and she is always happy to give them gifts. She is also a mega emotional and sensitive girl, when she feels an emotion, she feels it to the nth degree. When she's happy she gets loud, and infects everyone with her happiness showing it to the world, when she's sad no one can cheer her up, when she's angry you better run.
She understands that her relationship with Gray is complicated and one-sided, and she tries to act better and walk away from him when he tells her he's not comfortable with her. When she does that, Juvia discovers that in reality she is happy even without him. Like, she's a friend of Gray, a close friend, but she understands that her love was in her head. Then they cultivate a beautiful friendship, which if you want can also become true love (or not, you decide, but there must be that passage of self-understanding first. Actually, I'm a bit indifferent to the ship but whatever).
And then I'll stop here, even if I have things to say about the relationships she could have with other people, primarily with the Thunder Legion (in my opinion she gets along very well with all of them and also with Laxus), with Gajeel (their friendship is complex and that's okay), with Lucy (they are bestie fight me), with Erza (Juvia admires her), with Lisanna (Juvia listens to what the Edo version of Juvia was like and thinks about herself), with Cana (a bestie much more sincere than Lucy, she doesn't mince words when she has to make it clear when Juvia acts like a bitch), with Mira (these two girls are actually more similar than it seems), and that's it, now I stop.
It would have been faster to write a fanfiction.
(However I don't think this version is very far from the canon.)

hihi!! can u can u write amber w a stoic on the outside but anxious on the inside s/o pls? :D
Amber with a stoic reader that is anxious on the inside
Characters: Amber x gn!reader
Warnings: none
a/n: I love our Outrider, so I hope I didn't accidentally make her a bit ooc, if I did, it's probably because I decided it would be a great idea to write this at 3 am.
My horrible sleep schedule aside, I hope that this matches what you envisioned, I'm pretty sure that I know the meaning of anxious, but I'm sorry in case I somehow screwed up on that point, if I did, tell me and I'll try again.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Amber
The Knights of Favonius’ Outrider seemed to be able to befriend anyone, from daughters of disgraced clans, to distrusting people wrapped in bandages and travellers from far away. And so, it was fair to say, that not many where surprised the see the two of you hang out as much as you did, with Amber telling you about whatever came to her mind while you silently listened , nodding your head while your pokerface never seemed to faulter.
And while your face and behaviour didn’t exactly show it, on the inside you were far from being as stoic as you liked to let others think, always worrying about every little thing, causing moments in which you could just relax to be rare.
But that was where Amber came into play, her talent to pick up small clues, that made her a great outrider, also making her great in helping you. Whenever you felt anxious, your behaviour would reflect that, and while the hints were so unnoticeable that she wasn’t completely sure if you knew about them yourself, they nevertheless enabled her to know when to calm you down.
As you stood in front of the mirror, silently checking every little detail about your clothes before heading out to meet a rather important partner of your family’s business, you couldn’t help but worry about it, feeling like something bad was bound to happen, was it sudden rain, causing you to get soaked before even arriving or you messing up in various different ways. But before you had the possibility to worry even more, your thoughts were cut off by Amber’s voice.
“Are you nervous?”, she asked while coming up from behind, only to stop once she stood next to you. For a second you debated if you should be honest or simply deny it while sweeping your feelings under the rug, but eventually you decided to give her a small nod, causing her to give you her typical cheerful smile as she grabbed your hand.
“Don’t worry, as long as you don’t show that you’re nervous I’m sure you’ll do great. And I doubt that there’s anyone that’s better at hiding it than you”, she assured you, only for your pokerface to falter and reveal your worry ever so slightly.
“You say that, but you did notice”, you countered, unexpectedly causing Amber’s smile to widen a bit before she let out a small giggle.
“Of course, I did, but I know you”, she stated, only to quickly pull a baron bunny, small enough to fit inside a pocket, out from behind of her back, presenting it to you with a bit of fanfare. “Whenever I feel nervous, baron bunny junior here makes me feel better, you can try it out yourself if you’d like to”, she explained, causing you to stare at it for a few seconds before hesitantly taking it from her, immediately feeling yourself relax a little.
“Does it work?”, she asked, awaiting your answer. And even though you were pretty sure that you relaxing had less to do with “baron bunny junior” and more with the outrider in front of you, you nevertheless gave her a nod, causing her face to once again light up. “Great! Now that I look at the clock you should probably go, the last thing we want is for you to be late after all”, she proposed, causing you to glance at the time yourself, only to make your way over to the door, saying your goodbye to Amber before she returned the favour.
“Good luck, and don’t forget to tell me about how it went afterwards!”

Ok so, warning for chuck season 5 spoilers ahead, I just need to get something off my chest.
Ok so, chuck season 5.
I have noticed that people weren’t very enthusiastic regarding this season from the start, many people directly hated the starting imput, of course I'm talking about the whole Morgan - Intersect situation. But I’m currently on episode 2 and yk I'm loving it, it's cool!
now, my problem? it's not with the season actually, nor with the writing or the characters or what. my problem is actually with the fans.
Because BOY. We know Morgan.
Morgan has been in my top 3 characters since season 2 (in season 1 I still liked him but it took me a bit to warm up to him). Why is he in my top 3 characters? Because he is loyal, funny, he sometimes behaves in this cringe and cocky way that makes you die inside but with a smile. He is always there for Chuck, not only for him, he has always been there for EVERYONE.
Let’s take for instance my favourite character: (atm former) Colonel, John Casey. He is an angry, bitter, cold and frustrated man who has treated Morgan like shit in several occasions and never passes up an opportunity to call him moron. It took him 4 years to develop a friendship with him, and even after they became friends it wasn’t a completely healthy friendship considering that Casey still said all that stuff, just also showed he cared through actions.
And then you have Morgan on the other side. Sweet bearded man who never gave up on John. He gave him stupid nicknames in attempts to make him laugh and always let the insults slide on him, he tried to give him comfort and advice when Casey clearly was too proud to ask for it. Morgan called Casey SIR for a solid season. S I R. HE BEHAVED IN A MILITARY TRAINING WAY AND HE WORKED AT THE F BUYMORE. Do you have any idea how hard it can be to still be nice and caring towards someone who treats you like dirt?
But Morgan can do it. Because Morgan sees the good in everyone. Morgan has spent his ENTIRE LIFE tolerating bullies, he has been bullied in school and bullied in the workplace, and he would still do anything if it meant helping them. He is truly good at heart.
Now why am I saying all this? Because of several comments I saw under the first episode where Morgan starts to behave like a little shit. In a matter of two episodes he becomes cocky, arrogant, annoying, egocentric and selfish. He puts his team in danger without caring about the consequences. He has the intersect now, so he is better than everyone. He talks shit about Casey and Sarah, two people that he has ALWAYS LOVED. But there’s not only that. He starts to forget the things he likes, and THAT’S LIKE A BIG ASS CLUE OF WHAT’S HAPPENING.
HE LITERALLY FORGETS WHO LUKE SKYWALKER IS. WE SAW IN SEASON 4 THAT THIS MAN HAS STAR WARS ACTION FIGURES.
So after a loving and altruist character accidentally downloads in his brain a system (that for 4 seasons has been made clear CAN ONLY BE TOLERATED BY FEW PEOPLE) and completely changes his behaviour while forgetting things, after that what does the viewer think?
“Omg I hate Morgan he’s so annoying”
“This storyline is bad I preferred when chuck has the intersect”
“Ugh Morgan has always been annoying now with the intersect he’s even more annoying I wanna kill him”
*old gay sigh*
SOMETHING. IS. WRONG. WITH. HIM. STOP BLAMING MY MAN FOR ACTING LIKE THIS IT’S NOT HIS FAULT.
WE LITERALLY CAME FROM A SEASON THAT PRESENTED US A CHARACTER WHO BECAME A HORRIBLE MAN BECAUSE OF THE INTERSECT, IT’S HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF WHAT’S NOT TO GET.
IT’S NOT BAD WRITING IT’S LITERALLY SUCH A COOL THING. I LOVE INTERSECT MORGAN. I LOVE TO HATE HOW INTERSECT MORGAN BEHAVES AND I WANNA HUG HIM BECAUSE THE MAN HAS NOTHING TO BE BLAMED FOR.
I love my little bearded gremlin. Leave him alone.
I can’t wait to continue this season, I’m so excited I am kicking my feet and giggling.
(Also it wouldn’t be mondodisco if I didn’t simp over Casey so like omg it’s nice to know about his sexual life and I’m really hoping we get to see more of this Gertrude Verbanski of whatever her name is. That little scene at the end where he is like rehearsing what to say at the phone and he’s literally like “hello Gertrude. It is me, colonel John Casey. I’d like to have a meal with you. My treat. Oh yeah that went good” bro has never talked to a woman before only guns 😭 AND THEN AS SOON AS SHE ANSWERS HE CLOSES THE CALL BECAUSE HE IS JOHN CASEY AND DEATH DOESN’T SCARE HIM BUT ASKING SOMEONE OUT ON A DATE DOES. I love him with my heart)

Question, how comes everyone forgets all the good Bi-Han has done as soon as his death is mentioned? Hanzo has killed people, repeatedly over and over again, due to his vengeance but nobody outright calls him evil.
Bi-Han’s backstory is incredibly tragic once you think about it, but its not nearly as focused on when referring to his character. Hanzo’s tragedy is his character while Bi-Han’s tragedy is more of a “fun fact” category.
I just don’t understand why people think Bi-Han is so evil and irredeemable. Even in the intros for MK1, yes he was being arrogant and rude but that doesnt mean he’s irredeemable? Asshole ≠ Evil. But if you check the comments everyones like “theres the evilness, cant wait for noob saibot”, as if Bi-Han has 0 positive traits.
And also, how come people ignore what Scorpion did because Bi-Han was a “evil” person. He was hardly evil and he was on the path to redemption, just like Scorpion not too long ago. Scorpion killed Bi-Han brutally over a crime he did not commit, thats wrong no matter how much you try and break your back to excuse. Yes he promised to protect Kuai Liang as payment, but barely anybody addresses it in the games.
Even this quote from the intro dialogues
Noob: I was killed unjustly
Raiden: and for that, Raiden lost my trust
Noob: that is not justice.
You can TELL that Noob is still pissed at his death and at everyone for suddenly having amnesia over it.
All of this! ALL OF THIS!! No one ever talks about Scorpion being a cold blooded assassin too but like spoilers the Shirai Ryu are not the good guys. They’re assassins just like the Lin Kuei. Just because Hanzo had a wife and child does not mean he was a good man just like being a dick doesn’t man Bi-Han a bad man. He’s had an unimaginable life full of pain, suffering, gore and death from a very, very young age how can you not expect him to be a bit of a prick? It’s most likely his defense mechanism for dealing with all the horror he’s seen in his life. They’re two sides of the same coin. I don’t know people who think Bi-Han is evil rub me the wrong way tbh and I assume the majority of them have never played or watched a play through of MKM: SZ, which I really encourage everyone to do at some point. Is he kind of dumb and easy to manipulate? Yes. Is he evil? No. If he was evil he wouldn’t have gone after the amulet to stop Shinnok, he also wouldn’t have been worried about his soul when Raiden mentions it corrupted. Bi-Han literally saves Earthrealm from Shinnok and some how he’s the bad guy?? Whereas Scorpion never saves anyone and he’s a good guy?? Make it make sense. Please note I’m not trying to shit on Hanzo I’m just pointing out that he has done really bad shit too but he’s not held accountable for it.
Another thing I think we need to point out is Scorpion’s inability to control his rage always leads to a bad situation. Quan Chi manipulates him, he kills Bi-Han, boom now he has Noob hunting down his ass. Gets revenge on Quan Chi, now everyone who was a revenant has no chance to become human again, he dooms so many kharacters to live as mindless servants, but please tell me about him being your precious sunflower who’s never done anything wrong. ….I’m sorry that was kind of mean.
All I’m trying to get at is that it’s not fair that Bi-Han is labeled as evil just because he’s an arrogant douche. Scorpion has done just as bad of shit if not worse things than Bi-Han has so if you’re going to insist Bi-Han is evil then you have to admit Scorpion is too.
Again please don’t take this as me hating on or dragging Scorpion, that’s not my intention, it’s just to show that no matter how kind they seem an assassin is still an assassin and does horrible things.
Also Noob being salty is totally justified and I’d be salty AF too.

Love Letter
I’m not sure what this is. You could call it a diary entry, a vent post, an emotional word-vomit; I’ll call it a love letter. “To whom?”, you and I may both find ourselves wondering. I suppose it’s for several people, several places, things, and times in my life. However, I guess in the end it’s a love letter in the most classic, stupid, corny way; for my boyfriend. Well, him, and cartoons.
Tumblr media
I watched Avatar the Last Airbender when I was nine. My cousin and I were sticky with icecream and cake from his tenth birthday party in a sunny Arizona October. Our Opa had just passed away, and I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had been shipped off so I wouldn’t have to watch my dad and his siblings pick up the countless memories and piles of chess sets collected from all around during World War II. My cousin and I, however, got to celebrate life with a deadly amount of sugar and a movie-length series finale, culminating in a breath-takingly animated fight sequence and heart-wrenching soundtrack as the sky faded to purples and oranges over Iroh’s tea shop. Maybe that moment sticks with me because I realized that I had finally found a universe that lived up to my imagination; Maybe it sticks with me because that was the last time I went to visit my cousin before his dad and mine got in a fight over our Opa’s orphaned possessions.
I discovered Gravity Falls several years later. I created mountains of horribly drawn fan art of Mabel. I loved the colors she wore, how she never shut up, and how she always seemed so positive; strikingly similar to me. My dad noticed my interest in the show and decided to start watching it with me as season two began to air. It started as curiosity, and ended with him shouting from the living room couch to me in the kitchen to hurry with the snacks as the final few seconds of an ad played before Weirdmageddon III aired live.
The obsession only progressed from there. I remember hours and hours of drives and dinner-table conversations with my father, pouring over theory after theory, compiling art books and comics, and dragging each other to conventions when we had time. I remember dancing my hand out the passenger-side window; taking in the scent of barbeque; as yellow, orange, and red leaves covered the Blue Ridge parkway in the most beautiful blush. I would recite episodes word for word if he hadn’t already seen the show. I would comment on how Korra had a polar bear-dog that looked strikingly like the retriever that had his jaw laid against the center console, nudging our elbows. I would rant about the numerous queens in Star vs The Forces of Evil and I would go home at night and pick up my guitar to practice another Steven Universe or Adventure Time song, while he made verbal notes about Rebecca Sugar’s ethereal compositions.
I would sit awake at night, staring at the blue light that sparkled across my ceiling from the window, making my own stories and creating my own realities. I would tie myself to certain characters, at one point making the connection to Marceline, and taking notice of how a girl I knew reminded me of Bubblegum. We would sit on the carpet in my room, dissecting every second of Legend of Korra for scraps of queer representation, all the while experiencing what I would later call love for the first time. And I would love her for three years.
But she would create a new life, my dad would create a new life, and I would move in with my best friend who screamed and kicked and pulled at the worlds and stories that I had held to my heart my entire life, and I would lose them all.
I would forget my guitar and my music, forcing myself to listen to countless grey minutes of whatever she wanted. I would remove myself from any of the communities I had grown fond of, whether creative or queer or both, for the sake of making my life more in tune with hers. In the dead of night, I would force myself to drive for hours and hours to take her friends wherever they wanted, and I would hate myself when she ignored me the next day for nearly falling asleep at the wheel. I would wear unwashed sweatshirts, under-eye bags, and my hair would come out a little too quickly.
But sometimes she would work late. So one day, in a random spur of the moment decision, I pulled up a new show, The Dragon Prince, on Netflix. I recognized one of the creators as the head writer from Avatar; How cathartic is it that I began to live for the second time, reading Aaron Ehasz’s name across the screen.
You were there for it. You were her friend at the time, but at some point you just started to hang around to talk to me. You never really watched anything like this: usually sticking to Spongebob or That 70’s Show. You even openly admitted to changing the channel when Avatar would air on Nickelodeon; I punched your shoulder for that, “You’re crazy for thinking Spongebob is better.” However, a few hours in, I found myself buried against your chest, my lungs constricting as you rested your chin in my hair, while we stared teary-eyed as Rayla fell.
You listened to me when I talked about it; the colors, the music, the character designs, the everything; and not for any particular reason- just that you liked it when I talked. In fact, you never told me to stop talking or being emotional. You never once asked me to hide it all.
For three years you’ve watched me and listened to me and encouraged me. When I watched through the Owl House and Amphibia, you would let me fumble groggily over my thoughts and ideas as we downed Voodoo Donuts after twelve hour shifts. You helped me submit my application for a degree in Graphic Design and sat on a call with me when I had to wait in line for my new drawing tablet. You would watch me try on the brightest, most abstract sweaters; the most sparkly and colorful dangle-y earrings; and you would beam at me, telling me I looked beautiful when I wore what I wanted to.
Most recently, I’ve gotten you to watch the 2018 iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. At first the animation was overwhelming to you, but you persisted after you decided Raphael was your favorite. I always say you have to watch it through if you have a favorite. You’ve never seen me write or draw this much, and it almost worried you, till you heard me talking to my dad over a facetime call while we both cooked quesadillas. His was paired with home-made salsa verde and black beans. You and I don’t have a lot of money- running on the bank account of a couple of college students- so mine was a solo cheese and tortilla, crisped up in my favorite butter. You told me later that I had been ranting to him about autism representation and deconstruction of toxic masculinity for three hours.
You took me for a drive. And I laid back in the passenger seat, dancing my hand on the window, imagining wild horses galloping beside the car, led by a striking buckskin mustang through the plains. I could see spaceships hovering amongst the stars: lasers zapping in greens, reds, and blues. I built castles above the crests of the Rockies, and painted various dragons, twisted around the spires. I could hear frogs, croaking in a river band as they drifted down the bayou on the most extravagant Louisiana ferry. I smelled fresh pizza, set down on the tacky surfaced table in some small corner shop in New York. And you were there; You wanted to be there.
I will never again experience the life I once had. I will never be able to gain back the months and months of storm clouds and dissociation and self-hatred at nineteen years old. I will never have another 20th birthday: one that isn’t tainted with COVID and minimum wage work in a 40-year-old-male-dominated kitchen. However, every single year, this gets easier. You didn’t make this happen, I know that. I did this myself. I got out of that apartment, I stood up for myself, I decided to take classes again, I decided to draw and write again. But you were there. You’ve gotten to watch me rebuild myself, a happier version of myself, and you’ve expressed nothing short of admiration for my success. You have to know how much that means to me.
You have to know- spending forty minutes every few nights to watch stories of siblings, friends, and families- how much that means to me. Every time we watch an episode, I get to remember my cousin, my dad, being a kid, being a teenager… being me. I get to be me.

Honestly as much as I dislike helluva boss it would be kinda of fucked if they put all the world building and demonology into Hazbin and give people nothing for Helluva boss, so they had compensate by focusing on Stolitz and other ships. There’s nothing to Helluva boss, even the pilot didn’t have a story to tell to begin with, it was just assassins going around killing people and what little world building is told in obscure livestreams. I didn’t even know there was a hierarchy (like imps and hellhounds being at the bottom) till fans were posting lives streams of viv saying so because it’s never brought up or seen in the show. So Viv just wasted everyone’s time and overworked the animators by making them do two shows at once and by giving us a pointless spin off show, yeah it has pretty animation but it’s all fools gold when everything else is so empty. She should’ve just focused on her main series, like why did she do this?
I have no idea just-posts, I really don’t. Like I understand the idea of looking at some of your characters and going “Okay it would be cool to explore THEM and make them have their own stories”- but to this day I’m still sticking to the opinion that creating Helluva Boss was one of the biggest mistakes Vivzie could make. We know from her twitter that she has mental health issues, so all she did was pile more work onto her by creating another show. Why couldn’t it be in the form of comics? Animated shorts? Or why couldn’t she just wait until Hazbin’s first season was wrapping up production and THEN see if you have the energy to make more? But no, HB had to be a whole series, while she’s at the same time, working on the BIG show to a pilot that took her 5 years to work on, her baby, and passion. This is why I don’t feel sympathy for her anymore whenever she expresses how tired she is on twitter, because she put this upon herself. She has a reputation of biting WAY more than she can chew in the past, and to this day she hasn’t learned her lesson. Of course the thing is, wether you think Vivzie is fine juggling two shows at once or not, Helluva is still really bad. I never understood why she wanted to make a spin-off of a show that isn’t even out yet, and thanks to that, the little “worldbuilding” that Helluva has ends up confusing most of us, especially when you take Hazbin into consideration. If Hell has an overpopulation problem, why are they letting IMPS roam the earth to kill humans? If Cherubs can’t get into Heaven for accidentally killing someone, how can sinners? If only Angelic daggers can kill a demon, then why are there guns that can kill royalty? Why is there therapy and rehab in hell? If sinners can only die from an Angelic dagger, then how come Hellborn species seemingly just die from regular bullets? I could go on and on, and don’t forget all the dumb confusing shit she’s said on her patreon calls, where she either always sounds like she has no idea what she’s talking about, or the world’s basic ideas aren’t developed yet. Like you said, it doesn’t help that Helluva is mainly just empty when it comes to its worldbuilding. She says all this shit about Hell in her livestreams about how Helluva serves as focusing on the Hellborn demons and what it’s like outside of the Pride Ring, yet when you watch the actual show, it’s underwhelming, it’s all mainly earth but painted red and there’s nothing of value to it, to the point where you could write a version of the story set on earth with humans and most of the main plot points and overall focus wouldn’t change, and that’s an issue. Whenever Viv DOES explain the Hell stuff in the actual show, it’s all flat and uncreative, mainly just earth.
To sum it all up….Vivzie is just a horrible storyteller. She would rather tell us things in livestreams or even flat out tell us things in the show, but doesn’t have the proper writing skills to actually SHOW us. She struggles with inconsistency, and sets up ideas for her world as well but never follows through with them, either forgetting them or it not having relevance to her story. I can only hope that the storytelling skills in Hazbin is better, because to this day I still have no idea how her version of Hell works, and that’s a problem.
