As far as I know, there aren’t really any pickling recipes where I live? As in, after you mentioned that there may be regional differences, I tried looking up my language’s equivalent of pickling and… we apparently don’t do that? Like at all?

Closest I could find is one usually involving cabbage, carrots and onion, but it isn’t really as fermented (you only leave it be 2 hours) ;;

So yeah, If you have any recipes I’d really appreciate it since I did get curious before and,,, it honestly looks fun (I don’t mind the language, already translating to type in english)

hmm well alright. im more than happy to share the joy of pickling foods. just keep in mind youre a bit late so finding the right cucumbers may be hard; its a summer thing after all. but i wish you best

the pickles we use at my house are called mirabelles; theyre hard and are pretty good for pickling. you can get as many as you want, there isnt a minimum amount of jars to make and stuff. some people do a lot like me and some do little. for the basic pickles we make youll also need a bunch of garlic, dill, horseradish, salt (and oak leaves if you want; just wash them, obviously). prepare all of them as you would normally; separate the garlic cloves (you dont have to peel them if you dont want to but i would suggest doing so, as pickled garlic is very very tasty) and cut horseradish into pieces (youd want them to be more tall than thick, its easier to squeeze them into jars that way). if you want to go for a more spicy taste, youre free to add peppers in the mix as well. i know some people who add carrots to make them... sweeter, i guess, as well, so its a bit of a do whatever.

wash the cucumbers and all the things that are going to go into the jars (as well as the jar itself, but thats kind of obvious). put as many cucumbers as you can in it (vertically!), leaving a bit of space at the top so that the jar closes without squishing them. i like putting a lot of garlic and horseradish but the minimum is 3 cloves and 1 bigger piece of horseradish + a good handful of dill (and 1 oak leaf; if its a big one you can tear it into bigger pieces). boil enough water to fit in your jars and add a few tablespoons of salt (depends on how much water you boil) and when youre done pour it into the jars. it needs to cover the entire jar. make sure you seal the jar well (to make sure it seals, we put the jar on its cap for a while). after everythings done you have to wait a bit; if you want the proper pickles (kiszone), you have to wait around 2-3 weeks. if you want differently tasting małosolne, theyre ready in a few days after pickling, but personally i dont like them much and would not recommend sacrificing a jar for them

1. i love snake plants because they're soo chill and barely need anything to be happy (or at least okay). i have many of them because i bought one and separated it + i got two diff ones for free at a plant exchange event :)

2. (i dont have any, but) tillandsia is v cool like omg. it doesnt need soil whaaaaaaat? i want to get one soon (⁠♡⁠ω⁠♡⁠ ⁠)

3. dryopteris ferns (aka "wood ferns" apparently) they just have a great vibe. i feel like they know about stuff but theyre still like super humble. also their leaves feel nice and stimmy soft. i have one in my living room <3

4. kale wants me to live and be strong and healthy and happy for sure. plus their leaves are so cool and strong and especially the purple kinds are sooo cool. i think if they were people they'd be like, elder skateboarders or something.

5. borage aka starflower (what a good name!!). it looks maaagical (totally effervescent) because of the bristles its covered in. also it tastes like cucumber (tho apparently its slightly toxic but parts are still edible) and sows its own seeds readily enough that we introduced it to our field Once and it keeps coming back every year. i love that. also its got pretty little pinkish-blueish flowers. i like to use it in smoothies :3

and shout outs to

- potatoes, for being an eternally cloned staple food with poisonous berries that are the only real way of breeding them/starting actual new plants which hardly anyone does;

- tomatoes for being somehow both kinda hardy and also incredibly fragile and hard to grow. (and for tasty fruits obviously.) there's a tomato plant that i just took out of its pot and put in a bucket that happened to have soil at the bottom, because i didnt have space for it so i was gonna compost it, but now its sitting in the bucket looking incredibly sad and also growing a couple tomatoes on there. wild. i burned a bunch of other ones with fertilizer this year while planting them. last year they were stunted because they didn't get fertilizer at the right time. love them. also i had some bush-type tomato plants growing on my indoor windowsills last year, and they kept producing throughout winter (tho slower) and they are still alive and going (!!!) but i had to plant them outside because they got lil white bugs on them :( i wonder if otherwise i could've kept them for another winter... im thinking of starting some new ones right now even though theyre normally sown in like march lol.

- cucumber for growing tasty watery fruit. i love cucumber but they're also soo like. babby... they want moist air and their roots are sensitive (much more than tomato roots) but its worth it, i keep telling myself. last year i got like maybe 20 cucumber fruits altogether. but we love fermented (not pickled) cucumber. lovely tasty salty probiotic snack.

- there's so many. really there's something to love abt all of the plants i have experience with. basil, parsley, mint, raspberry, strawberry, aloe vera (i have so many on my windowsill and they keep multiplying bless them), mimosa pudica (cutie pie tho i had a hard time taking care of it unfortunately), littleleaf linden tree (their flowers make wonderful tea), and uhh just so many more.

Also the more I hear from my friend who branches out into BG cnovels/cdramas the more I realize how special a female protagonist like Fei is.

last book you hated reading: a danmei novel that shall remain unnamed bcus it was recced by a mutual. meanwhile i regret finishing it. the plot was such a friggin soap opera. literally almost Every soap opera trope. i'm surprised nobody's clone showed up, it wouldnt have been out of place! the ship dynamic was good so i finished to get their happy ending but. kinda felt that it wasn't worth it in the end.

favorite thing to cook/bake: gotta be meringues, as long as you know the perfect time for your particular oven theyre literally SO easy to make. and tasty. I like making blini too but they are kinda stressful because you gotta stay on them the entire time.

favorite craft to do in your free time: cross-stitch, it's somehow just the right proportion of mindlessness and engagement for me

most niche dislike: there's this special kind of annoying fans that make me dislike thing that they are fan of literally just because it becomes associated in my mind with their annoyingness. 1 honestly either is good, i dont think their dynamic would be all that different, its kind of just labels. i know a lot of people understandably view snatcher as unwilling to commit to another romantic relationship after what happened to them, but i personally write their discomfort sa far more about specific power dynamic quirks than the entire kind of relationship. given he works certain issues out beforehand (like his persistent attraction attachment and "indebtment" to vanessa. it doesnt have to go entirely he just needs to learn its not inherent to their identity) i dont think itd be too opposed to the idea.

2 none i dont read fanfiction. i guess i could name the thing that introduced me to the concept of them interacting but i dont remember what it was called. it was posted by a user with something about soy sauce in their url, theyre deactivated now. 3 none i am so sorry 4 cooking cat is incredibly busy w her cooking show, checking out various places kitchens (both place and culture wise) and swapping mafia town food, so when it comes to her actually resting for once in his life its her being cooked for. snatcher fights for his life in her kitchen making food just completely freaking out scared but the entire time its just going pretty smoothly. hes incredibly mediocre but like, its tasty and edible and ccs proud over this thing from the woods operating a stove. 5 million diseases be damned he can work a grill lol speaking of which, cc does help snatcher sort of reintegrate into soicety, at least as an observer. after dying and fully committing theirself to their cause theyd never think theyd get to live a normal life again: cook, wear cute clothes, walk outside, talk to people... and as such cc offers them a second chance at life just by being herself. its just everyday stuff to him but so huge and important to snatcher. its incredibly happy grateful for that. 5 she thinks its sincerely harrowing and isnt sure what to say or do, but snatcher tries her best to let him know his very presence in her life is enough to help them feel like theres a better life possible. having gained experience of just living not entangled in some horrific larger-than-life structure, its easier to keep in mind theyre under no obligation to be in as much pain as they are.

Daddy Chan. Every time there is a "subtle" background ChanBig where Big "slips up" and says "Yes daddy" I literally vomit into my own mouth. If i see it again I will start chundering into envelopes and mailing them to people as I see fit.

Vers fics: When an author takes a "stereotypical" dynamic and plays with it, it tells me they've actually thought about the characters, their likes and dislikes and motivations. (it also says gay people like what they like during sex and it literally doesnt matter just like real life!! but that's besides the point!!).

I'm much more likely to read a ChayKim or PeteVegas oneshot *because* of an authors willingness to play around with character dynamics. I've read some outstanding PorscheKinn fics where Kinn is revealed as treating topping as the least 'gay' way to be gay (and as we learned in the very first scenes of KinnPorsche: "do you still like gelato" - being gay is treated as a weakness/thing to mock) so any exploration of being gay + sex acts as subversion/rebellion is so tasty delicious to me.

Other than the absolute tonal dissonance between some of the scenes (KimChay breakdown to helicopter sloppy my behated) - I think KinnPorsche completely missed a trick when it came to bodyguard deaths affecting the other bodyguards. I know I bang on about Big and Ken as my favourites, but having 2 of the highest ranking bodyguards die- one of which was a trusted traitor and one of which died protecting Porschem- affect??? noone??????? The fact that Kinn barely mourned Big could have absolutely played a super interesting role in Pete's decision to leave. It could have sowed seeds of doubt in Porsche's trust of Kinn - and if they HAD left space for Kinn to grieve the loss of his closest bodyguard, it could have really reshaped Kinn and Porsche's whole dynamic in an interesting way.............. idk. I think it's a loose end and a poorly handled opportunity for interesting characterisation. But the extra time did make room for KinnPorsche fart jokes sooo it's fine. I'm not seething. :)

I will defind Jeff Satur to the ends of the earth. BUT AND HOWEVER. I genuinely think that the direction for Kim's interactions with Chay were relatively poor and far too focused on Kim/Jeff looking pretty than like... showing genuine emotion. Barcode seemed to act rings around Jeff at times, and yet in scenes where he *was* allowed to show emotion (see bar scene and polaroid scene!!!) he fucking smashed it. But scenes like WDYS at the end lacked emotional depth because the production was too worried about Jeff looking good on camera for a music video clip rather than the emotional payoff of the scene...

I also think KimChay could/SHOULD have absolutely been lesbians. There's something so fucking lesbian about KimChay I could cry. I nominate Silvy Pavida as Kim and Fah Yongwaree as Chay. but that's just my lesbian opinion.

fdhjkhsknhdajksh GOD. I honestly don't block all that often. I hate to end on an actually sour note but - just people treating the Build situation as "tea" or "entertainment" or "hashtag drama" when like...... it was just so serious to me. idk. I definitely blocked a few people that I personally think handled that badly.

That said while I generally dont block often, I did block someone yesterday for blazing stranger things fanfiction with no readmore onto my dashboard. It was like 6k+. It was just quicker to scroll up and block than get to the bottom of it haha

today is my gf's and my 1st anniversary. yesterday we saw the menu together & snacked on contraband even knowing the usher guy could see us with their damn night vision. today i did these items on my to-do list while it was at the gym, and when it got home we ate "the tastiest baked potatoes" it has ever had (high praise from the irish) then watched x-files while cuddling in bed. i ran out of meds so im in withdrawal but i only cried 1.5 times

to make tasty baked potatoes, i rub the skins with oil, salt, black pepper and cayenne, oven at around 180-200 til theyre Done (1-1.5hrs), halve, fork a little salted butter in there while they're hot, grate a good amount of cheese on (red leicester was what i had to hand), then top with tuna for me, tuNo for it which is bland to the point of grossness on its own so i add a little each of soy sauce, lime juice, ground garlic, salt, white and black pepper, and worcestershire, combined with mayo, spring onion, cherry tomatoes and sweetcorn, crack a lil more black pepper over and then (hobbit eating sounds). i like to save a little filling for when i reach empty potato skin stage then fill the skin and eat it like a delicious boat

now. this au has a rescue arc. BECAUSE bellamy, that fine ass man swoops in and kills seth. that does not go over well w pumpkin who, while less and less by the second bc of kane's treatment, is madly in fucken love with that man. and of course seeing bellamy commit murder??? is scary??? so pumpkin is TERRIFIED.

now after the rescue pumpkin spends a while being skittish and hostile towards bel, while kane is trying to sort out his own trauma and also manage that, and bellamy is trying his best to be like... non-threatening- but how do u act non-threatening after killing someone yknow- AND on top of all that, pumpkin is going mad without their daily fix of dehumanization. enter anton de sang. whom pumpkin sees and thinks yes. that is the man.

SO BABY PUMPKIN RUNS THE FUCK OFF AFTER ANTON TO BE LIKE "sir? sir? can u step on me?" AND ANTON IS LIKE. GLADLY?? WHAT A FUCKEN WEIRDO. pumpkin gets WHUMPED. while kane and bellamy r freaking out bc they find pumpkin's note abt where they went and they Immediately go after them. theres some angst in here i dont wanna spoil but GOD its some good shit. pumpkin gets home safe tho :D

they all know this cant go on, this is very unhealthy, kane offers to act like pumpkin's new owner in exchange for them never running off again, and pumpkin turns it down bc they know it makes kane SO uncomfy. but bellamy has great acquantances..... and this is where ambrose comes into the picture. u guessed it, the man is a professional vamp dom. thats how he and el meet. oh yes, by the time that happens, pumpkin finally gets the courage to leave the petname behind and start using the name el! which is a shortened version of their birth name that sounds more gender neutral and they love the sound of!

am helps them work through their little traumas while the two of them also fall for each other like nobodys business. in the meantime kane also finally works up the courage w el's help to ask out bellamy, and those two gay little lovebirds also get together. but oh no! el is... el is human... so when they and am finally get married (bc of course they do) that "death do us part" bit is pretty sour. am knows he only has limited time w them.

BUT BC THIS IS AN AU AND WE ALL WANT THEM TO SPEND 3000 YEARS TOGETHER IN HAPPINESS WE DECIDED HEY, AM COULD FIND OUT ABT THE ORIGINAL RITUAL THAT CREATED VAMPIRES AND TURN EL!!!!! so he does :D and from there its all sunshine rainbows and fluff, they live happily ever after as a huge happy family. am's parents kind of adopt kane, which does mean that they rly are one big family since both el and bel marry into it. so they just all share the same last name. oh yes bc neither kane nor bellamy would want to keep their original last names anyway bc of their stupid shitty families. SO YES. thats what we've been discussing for days now and its so good and im so happy it sparks so much joy

and then we have the dark spk au where seth actually survives that night and later bel and am go over to his house when the four of them realize hes alive, and get revenge :) this is a tasty au

Pet sat patiently by Master´s legs as he prepared some food for it. He sat the bowl down next to its crate, as well as one with fresh water.

Pet whined softly as a question.

,,Go on, buddy. You must be hungry.”

Pet slowly sniffed the food, still not sure if it's allowed to eat. Master waited. Pet carefully tasted it, making sure to not make a mess.

It didn´t even realize how hungry it was. The dog food was delicious, meaty and rich and tasty. Pet purred and dug in. Master seemed happy as it chewed and swallowed, filling its empty stomach.

,,Someone was really starving, huh?” he chuckled, when the pet emptied its bowl in a few minutes. Pet froze, not sure if it´s hunger didn't anger him, but it seemed like Master was glad. ,,Want some more?”

Pet blinked a few times. It really liked this dog food, but it didn´t want to seem greedy. And it was sure the food was very expensive. It didn't want to waste Master´s money. Old Master always reminded Pet how expensive it was to take care of it when he fed it, and the old food tasted way cheaper than this. Pet pressed its ears to its head and shaked its head slowly.

,,Alrighty then,” Master shrugged. ,,I´ll give you more in the evening. You're big, but terribly underweight. You need to eat a lot to get more healthy.”

Pet silently sat curled up next to the crate as Master sat on the couch and turned the TV on. It wasn't sure if it should go into its cage, or follow Master and lie by his feet, or stay in the place. It tried to make itself as small as possible, wrapping its tail around its body and covering itself with wings, waiting for a command.

Master took out his buzzing phone and picked up a call.

,,Hey, Tee. Yeah, I got the pet. Its absolutely fucking huge, pal, and it looks pretty scared. It's bloody quiet, afraid to make any move... Guess its old owner was kind of a dick, I would say… Yeah… Yeah, sure… I'll send you guys a photo, of course… No, I haven't decided on a name yet… I honestly don't even know if it's a male or a female... Pet flicked its ears as Master turned around on the couch and smiled at it. ,,My friends can't wait to meet you, buddy,” he said in a warm voice. ,,Well give you a few days to acclimatize and then you're gonna get introduced to them. I'll just take a photo for now. They're curious as hell, and I can't blame them… Cause look at you, pal.”

Pet nodded, slightly confused, not sure what it is supposed to do.

,,Now pose for me,” Master chuckled and raised his phone.

Pet forced itself to sit a bit straighter and not to flinch, bracing for being punished for not looking good enough, but Master just took a quick photo, lowered his phone again and smiled. ,,Ha, you look almost small in this one. Theyre gonna be surprised as fuck when they see you. Well, so was I.”

Pet waited, longing for a clear command.

,,Don´t you wanna come over here? I'll understand if not, but so far, you seem kinda cuddly. I'll let you on the couch, just promise not to rip it up or something.”

Pet perked up. Finally! It will show Master how good and quiet and obedient it can be, that it is a good pet. It will let him tug on its fur or hurt it if he wants to, just to feel his warm hands again, it will be good and quiet and whine only if he wants it to. It stood up and padded over to the couch, stopping at Master's feet, waiting for his permission.

,,Wanna go up here?”

It slowly raised one of its paws, making sure the claws are all hidden. Carefully, it sat the paw down on the couch, looking at Master inquiringly.

,,C'mon, up.”

Pet jumped on the couch, being extremely careful not to brush its wings against Master or to touch him without his permission. It anxiously curled up. Master tapped his legs and Pet quickly obeyed, laying its head into his lap. His fingers stroked its head and Pet purred gratefully, as he petted it and scratched its big fluffy neck.

,,There we go,” Master chuckled softly, as the Pet slowly started to drift to sleep, ,,you might be big and kinda scary, but you´re not a monster at all.”
