Before I start, when I say 'y’all,' don’t take it personally — I’m just putting the message out there for whoever the shoe fits.

Just a gentle reminder before I throw this table: Hi, hello, I’m Joy, full-time OT7, but Jimin and Jungkook are the ones who make my neurons misfire aka my biases. HOWEVER — and I need y’all to pay attention here — if I need to speak up for every single member, I WILL, because I’m not half an OT7 like some are pretending to be.

Let’s get this straight. I will never forget nor forgive how this fandom treats my biases. Jungkook is not your delulu Y/N fanfic doll, and Jimin is NOT the group’s emotional support background dancer. But when it came to SUPPORTING them? When it was time to actually show the fuck up? Crickets. Literal dust. Tumbleweeds. “Are You Sure?” — a project that JIKOOK THEMSELVES spelled out was important — got ignored like it was a demo from 2015. FINE. Okay. Let’s pretend that’s normal behavior. Suddenly everyone's phone screen cracked and their Wi-Fi stopped working. Some just sat there like “🤷‍♀️✨stream who?” anyways. Jikook literally spoon-fed you how important that show was for them, but nooo, let’s act blind instead.

But then explain this to me — and no hate to the girlies involved — why the actual hell is the voting gap between Jimin x Jennie and Jungkook x IU CLOSE TO ZERO? Huh? At what point did we decide that giving other fandoms the upper hand was part of the plan? I remember the fandom having a full-on civil war when two members were put in the same poll, but now it’s suddenly too much to outvote other idols? Are we tired? Are our thumbs broken? WHERE IS THE ENERGY?

Moving on.

Before I go deeper into this mess, congrats to Namjoon for his win at the AMAs — love that for him, seriously. But I have to ask: have some of y’all completely lost your goddamn minds? Jimin is one of my biases and yes, I was sad he didn’t win. But that didn’t stop me from being genuinely happy for Namjoon — HE DESERVES IT TOO.

But noooo, some people had to start acting like absolute clowns on the TL acting like this was the Hunger Games. I am sick to death of seeing y’all try to “support” Jimin by invalidating Namjoon. I sat there thinking, “Wow, Namjoon really lurks online. He’s gonna see this shit.” And guess what? HE PROBABLY DID. Imagine being proud of a win, opening Twitter, and seeing “Congrats… but it was only out of pity” or “fanbases paid people to vote for you.” Imagine being happy about a huge solo achievement just to go online and find your “fans” saying it was all pity votes and bribery. Like EXCUSE ME?? We KNOW how voting works. We know the fandom plays dirty sometimes. BUT WHY THE FUCK are you putting that drama on the timeline where the BOYS can see it? Why do you want them to feel BAD for succeeding? What kind of mental gymnastics is this?

And THEN — lord give me strength — I saw that TikTok.

A comment was made that Jimin received a lot of hate during the AMAs voting period, and this girl decided her grand response was, “Jimin is happy for Namjoon.” …HUH??? That wasn’t the damn question, sweetie! That’s not an answer! You’re glazing over actual hate with a bootlicker Hallmark card like that does ANYTHING.

Let me make it clear: We all KNOW the members love each other. That’s not the debate. You don’t get a gold star for reminding us that the sky is blue. If the roles were reversed and someone said Namjoon got hate, I wouldn’t reply with “Joon is happy for Jimin <3” because IT’S NOT THE POINT. The point is the hate. Not your weak attempt at a kumbaya moment.

But wait! The saga continues! SAME girl made another video saying she used to think JK solos were bad, but now she believes Jimin solos are worse. 🤡 Okay. Sure. Solos are toxic. All solos can be toxic. But tell me this: who do you think is funding birthday cafés, streaming goals, mass voting, banners, ad trucks, and literal TIMES SQUARE BILLBOARDS?

Let me hit you with some bitter truth: no matter how much I personally hate the drama solos create, their work? UNDENIABLE. You wanna erase them entirely? Cool, then get ready to do 20x the effort on your own. The numbers? Solos. The insane voting sprints? Solos. That birthday project you liked on Insta? Probably a solo.

And THEN — this one got me THROWING FURNITURE — someone commented that Jimin needs to address his solos.

Oh? He does? Since when do idols sign a clause in their contract that says “must babysit toxic fans”? Is he your therapist? Your kindergarten teacher? NO MEMBER owes it to us to fix fandom discourse. What do you want him to say? “Dear solo stans, stop being toxic 😔”? Y’all are so detached from reality it hurts.

In conclusion: y’all are fake OT7s, selective supporters, and part-time clowns trying to tear down the people who are literally keeping your faves afloat. If you think shitting on solos — while doing ZERO yourself — makes you morally superior, you’re just loud and useless. Report toxicity, sure. But stop acting like every solo fan is the devil incarnate while they’re out there WORKING.

Until you’re the one personally raising 10K USD for an ad campaign, organizing café events, and hitting mass vote caps daily, do us all a favor and shut the fuck up.

What traits? Empathy and imagination? The only one with the murder gene here is Hannibal. Will is a good person, he’s a victim.

And fear his empathy for murderers he does not. He empathizes just as well with the victims. It is the very act of killing, of violence and cruelty that rattles him. That makes him vulnerable, not villainous. Any darkness in him was planted there by Hannibal. Remember how Hannibal abused him mentally and physically and alienated him from everyone else in his life?

In case anyone overlooked what’s happening here for all the fantastical grandiloquence, Hannibal is saying to Will, I alone can understand you. You are what I say you are. I have your best interest in mind. You don’t have any friends I’m all you have.

That’s called gaslighting, sweetie.

Oh but Will is a dark monster bound by damn morality. Hannibal loves him and frees him. Some beasts shouldn’t be caged. Family life ain’t good for him, blah blah blah…

It is widely known in fandom spaces that Gotham is heavily split between the SuperBat shippers and the BruceMan shipper

It's an all out ship-war, the two sides vehemently hate and bash each other online

One day someone proposes the obvious: a poly ship

SuperBruceMan becomes one of the biggest ships in the Gotham real-people shipping community

And then Bruce Wayne ruins everything, by publicly dating nobody-reporter Clark Kent

This spawns a third faction (the Brent shippers), and the magic of poly ships are forgotten

Until someone (yet again) proposes polyamory, and SuperBrentMan is born

Identity shenanigans quickly becomes a SuperBrentMan staple, as the ship is made up of two civilians and two unknown vigilantes/superheroes

And thus, the first SuperBrentMan miraculous square fic is born

The utterly charming but ditzy Bruce Wayne must find a way to tell the love of his life, Clark Kent, of his secret identity as an alien superhero, while Clark Kent tries to come clean about being Gotham's dark knight

The real Clark and Bruce are just thankful that the shippers got the identities switched

Shoutout to the self shippers who self ship in private.

The ones who want to be apart of the community, but are scared of embarrassing themselves. To the ones who watch in secret that dream of sharing their own stuff one day. It’s okay to feel nervous and be terrified of the possibility of folks making fun of your ships, your art, your writing or just you as a person. I experienced my own fair share of hate throughout the years when it comes to self shipping. And I still struggle with the fear of embarrassing myself to this day. But if I never posted my first self ship drawing long ago, I would’ve never found others who felt the same way when it comes to fictional characters.

You are NOT cringe or embarrassing for expressing what makes you happy. You are allowed to take up space for being yourself and sharing the love you have for the characters that are important to you just as much as everyone else who is allowed to be passionate about what makes them happy too. You’ll never know who might need to see your stuff for comfort and inspiration the same way you all were inspired by others before you.

Breaking News: Voting for a Member Without Causing a Civil War? Groundbreaking.

Imagine this: I like Jimin. I like Jungkook. Both are my biases. My own two biases are in the same voting poll. I have 10 emails. I split the votes, 5 emails each. Then, as the deadline approaches, i use all 10 emails on whichever one has a chance of actually winning. Boom. Strategy. Sanity. A functional brain.

Now let’s compare that to the actual state of this fandom: Someone votes for Jimin and suddenly they’re branded a “Jimin solo” like it’s a federal offense. Someone chooses to vote for Joon and suddenly it’s a“Joon solo.” Like??? Be serious. You sound like kids fighting over crayons in kindergarten.

It’s voting, not a blood oath. No one’s asking you to renounce your biases and pledge eternal loyalty to one man. It’s not that deep. You can support more than one person without needing to justify your entire voting history like you’re testifying in court.

And to the grown adults bullying others because they voted for their bias: Congrats on your regression to middle school. Your honorary 12-year-old badge is in the mail. 📬

Let people vote however the hell they want. Split votes, change direction near the deadline, or even, and this may shock you, vote for just one person without being a traitor to the group.

You can strategize without infantilizing the fandom. You can support your bias without turning it into a Hunger Games spinoff. And you can recognize that ARMY is diverse, global, and... full of people who aren’t trying to join a cult over a poll on the internet.

Use your votes. Use your brain. And for the love of all that is logical, stop acting like voting for Jimin or Joon means one of them will disown you.

Just some words I've been needing to hear for a few weeks now and once I finally wrote them down, I thought maybe there were other people who might need to hear them too ❤️

You don't need to be anyone's favorite writer for your writing to be good.

The worth of your writing is not measured by whether or not you're included in fic recs or the amount of comments/asks you get.

Your works don't need to be recognized as some of The fics of the fandom to be good or worth reading.

'Popular' writers in your fandom are also just writers (and humans!!) : you don't need to impress or be noticed by them to have a place in your fandom. Fandom should be fun so don't let your brain ruin it with a misplaced sense of competition <3

You don't need to post a fic every week to be considered a writer. You don't need to write every week to be a writer. There is no limited places in fandom: come and go as you want and as life allows you to. Post when you feel like it, there is no trend to surf on to stay 'relevant' as a fic writer or a content creator. Fandom will always wait for you.

Your writing is good, and the more you write, the more you find your style, the better it gets.

Your writing made someone's day. Your writing is helping the fandom stay alive. Your writing should make you happy, and that happiness should not be proportional to how recognized you are in your fandom.

I know it can be discouraging to see tons of fic recs in your fandom and none of them including your fics. But yesterday, when I was feeling down, I re-read my own published works because they were the stories I wanted to read. And I enjoyed reading them, so much. And that is enough to keep me writing, because it showed me there is no better person to write the stories I have in my head than myself (a huge progress considering months ago, I couldn't reread something I'd written because I was cringeing too hard to get through two sentences).

Find your people that will always hype you and your fics up: you and your writing don't have to appeal to every single person in your fandom. Write niche fics! Rarepairs seemingly no one brought up before! Include headcanons and takes and interpretations you've never seen written before!

Write the stories you are dying to read, and I promise you, you'll find other people who were hoping to find that story somewhere, too.

Your writing is unique because it can only ever be yours and same goes for your stories; your writing is worth reading and your stories are worth being written <3
