Consistently shocked by the idea that people think Bradley Rooster Bradshaw is chill and laid back. He’s actually shockingly unchill. He is the opposite of chill. He did not inherent any of his parents chillness. He’s a loser who’s too invested in everything.

idk if anyones ever spoken about this before, but when I watch community I’m kind of under the assumption that Abed, while much more in touch with the narrative than the average character, isn’t actually capable of seeing the show as it happens or truly breaking the 4th wall. While that’s super interesting as a perspective to use while watching, I do think that he is doing the on screen equivalent of someone irl “looking into the camera”. As in, he loves television and uses it as his major method of interacting with the world, and acting like he’s in a tv show is something he does because it helps him, not because he knows he’s in a tv show. In fact, when we see Abed’s version of “community” it’s a multi camera sitcom with a laugh track, not an accurate representation of the real thing. In contemporary American poultry, Abed asks Jeff not to do a “special episode” about him, apparently not aware that he’s already the focus of the episode. It always felt to me that Abed acts like he’s in a television show because he wants to and it just happens to line up with the show sometimes (eg when he “lays low for an episode”). Obviously there’s nuance here, and he obviously has as much if not more influence over the show’s actual presentation as Jeff, but I think it might be diminishing to say that he’s truly aware of the narrative he’s in.

I feel like most people’s problem with Anidala lies in the misconception of the sort of “possessive” Anakin is and becomes when he’s with Padmé. Most people are thinking standard abusive boyfriend/husband who won’t let his girl/wife live her damn life. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth of what Anakin is.

An abusive husband will dictate what his wife does and restrict her from doing things she wants, make her whole personality and obligations all about him and rob her of a life of her own. As we can very clearly see, Anakin doesn’t do any of the above. He respects Padmé’s decisions, even abides to her choices and wishes sometimes, and he respects her duty as a Senator and feels proud for it as well.

And he actually helps out with her Senatorial duties as well whenever he can.

Anakin doesn’t want to stop Padmé from living her life, or doing the things she desires, he clearly cares for her opinions and considers what she wants even before they got together. I.E in AOTC, where he argues the Council against taking Padmé back to Naboo because she’d want to stay for the vote.

The ‘possessiveness’ that Anakin harbours within himself when it comes to Padmé, stems from his fear of losing her to the unknown dangers of the galaxy. He had already lost his mother, and this heightened his fear of losing his wife. He knows Padmé is a heavy target due to her status and position as a revered politician and former queen of Naboo. He fears so much that he wants to keep his eyes on her at all times, he wants to stay by her side 24/7 and keep her safe, but he knows he can’t do that with his position as a Jedi, due to A) having to be on the front lines cause of the war and B) having to keep his relationship with Padmé a secret. This also just adds to Anakin’s fear of not being able to protect or save Padmé because he’s not there with her at times.

Anakin doesn’t want to control Padmé or her life. He knows she’s passionate about certain things and he’s always there to support her for it. However, it doesn’t stop him from worrying over her and trying to change her mind when she dives headfirst into danger. And he knows how she’s just as impulsive because he’s also the same way. Thus, is where that “obsessive possessiveness” really stems from. It’s not that Anakin is a first class A-hole who doesn’t want Padmé to exist outside her relationship with him, it’s that he wants to control every bad thing that could possibly happen to her and rebuttal it, cause he can’t live without her, and he’d die if he ever lost her.

So I’ve more or less been casually keeping up with Hazbin Hotel since the pilot days. I did some fanart at some point and did a cosplay once, but I currently do not consider myself part of the fandom (certainly not the hatedom bc y’all are kinda ridiculous). But anyway I’ve seen a lot of the criticisms for the show and have seen the episodes (I’ve also seen all the Helluva Boss episodes and this all applies to that show as well). And while I have a handful of criticisms of my own, none of them involve the amount of cursing in it???

Because like…

I do NOT understand why everyone gets so pissy about the cursing. Like maybe it’s because I’m a homestuck fan and that comic curses more than both Hazbin and Helluva probably ever will combined and I see nothing wrong with it? Like cursing isn’t the punchline like some of y’all seem to think it is. That’s just how some people talk and for the LIFE of me I do not see why people are clutching their pearls about it. Like is there some social standard about swearing that I missed? I know some people prefer to not curse and that’s fine and up to personal preference. But like… Growing up on the internet in the 2010’s alone got me so desensitized to profanity that I literally could not care less when someone drops the fuck word.

I curse like a sailor, most of my friends curse like sailors, and even my super religious mom curses like a sailor sometimes. So every time I hear someone complain about it I’m just like… okay??? Get over it??? I understand that there’s a time and a place for the use of certain kinds of language, but you’d think that an adult show targeted for adults about a place where everyone’s an asshole is an appropriate instance for swearing to be allowed.

Sorry if that comes off as harsh or insensitive for some reason. It just really baffles me and I am so genuinely confused about it all. This isn’t even an "oH tHeY’Re iN heLL" thing either. I just don’t understand and low key feel like I’m either going crazy or just really missing something here.

Another enormous and ongoing factor in “Canada is not a human rights paradise”; MAiD.

Canada legalised “medically assisted death” and what literally every disability rights group said would happen immediately proceeded to happen; they started offering it instead of care to disabled people.

Far from being limited to terminally ill people in intense pain, which is what they spoke about when pushing the policy, it’s now routinely offered to disabled and chronically ill people who are suffering *because they are living in poverty* and *unable to access the pretty basic care and assistance that would be needed for a decent quality of life.” They are currently expanding the programme to include mentally ill people because of course they are.

I know disabled and chronically ill Canadians who are living in tremendous poverty - like, crowdfunding food and heating in *Canadian winters* poverty - who speak continuously about the fact that every time they seek any form of government or public assistance, all they get is offered “assisted suicide.”

There is literally no way this is anything other than eugenicist genocide of disabled people. And no one seems to give a shit other than disabled people, because abled people *continuously* seem to believe that death is preferable to disability. They continuously and massively overestimate the suffering involved in, say, incontinence.
