📚inch resting bits from the march twst manga updates📚 (octa, savana, & 4koma!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
***Manga spoilers below the cut (with an emphasis on the Episode of Octavinelle, since that's my favorite dorm!)***
Tumblr media
The 4koma manga has dropped! Again, it centers around the daily lives of the NRC boys and is shown in a 4 panel gag comic format.
In the illustration above, we see the main cast with Grim's beloved tuna cans~
This month has comics about Ace going to a supplementary lesson (to learn how to manipulate brooms to do his chores) and Leona attending his art class. The comic depicts Leona, Idia, and Rook in the same art class though we're not sure if this is true in-game yet. However, the comics do carry over the continuity of Ace and Deuce being in Trein's class so maybe the art class thing is also true of Leona?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the Episode of Savanaclaw manga: I KNOW WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN AWE OF DIASOMANI'S PRESENCE BUT ALL I'M THINKING IS THAT DIASOMNIA HAS A MOB STUDENT WITH A BOWL CUT 😭
I'm also really fixated on how this mangaka draws her lashes and hair, they're always bangers every time 💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruggie "bleh" face... Also???? That full page of him using his UM... and the visualization of the wildebeests racing with him like the people in the crowd, very Lion King.
I like that the manga really shows us more emotional and intense moments the game cannot depict due to its limited assets. Here, we see the aftermath of Ruggie using his UM on the crowd. Even with Azul's magic-enhancement potion, Ruggie has taken a great physical toll from spellcasting. Falling to his knees, panting... This will make it hurt more when Leona almost poofs him to sand later 😭
Tumblr media
These panels remind me of like. Scar looking on from up high while the hyenas do his bidding. Ruggie's expression... it's so full of a desperate kind of hope has he gazes up at his "king".
Tumblr media
From the Episode of Octavinelle, we get to see Leona post-OB and recovering in the infirmary. Side note, I really love how the mangaka adds these cute little faces to let us know who is speaking in certain text bubbles. The little faces make some of the cutest expressions; just look at that cheeky chibi Leona head!
Tumblr media
Here, Ruggie is telling everyone about rumors that Azul and the twins purposefully prevent their clients from fulfilling their end of the contract so they can reap the benefits. I like how the scene shown is a boat tipping over (with the twins implied to have flipped it). Nice callback to the boat scene in The Little Mermaid!
Tumblr media
We have another The Little Mermaid reference here, where Floyd shares his UM with the gang?? The hypothetical man here reminds me of Prince Eric, especially in that white shirt and appearing as though he is drowning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guys... Azul's been taking modeling lessons from Vil-- I really like these more quiet and contemplative moments of Azul; plenty of those are featured this month.
asdbhlfdbaifyoaiygoeia I WILL NOW ALWAYS ASSOCIATE AZUL THINKING HARD WITH SITTING IN THAT CHAIR... There's so many shots of him seated here...
Tumblr media
Yuuta continues to be my favorite manga!Yuu so far by diligently tidying up Leona's messy ass room for him... asfvkyadvfialf Grim looks so goofy helping out, that tower of clothes is half his size...
Tumblr media
FLOYD'S FACE IS SO siLLy HERE TOO (this is the scene when Ruggie recalls seeing his eel form during a P.E. class where they swam). The mangaka really decided to summon his gremlin energy here...
Tumblr media
Aaaaah, I love this shot; it sort of parallels Azul and Leona... It also makes me realize the difference between how Leona's hair is in Octavinelle vs Savanaclaw (due to the different mangaka). In Octavinelle, his hair is usually a solid black with white highlights but in Savanaclaw there tends to be a subtle gradient/screen tone on Leona's hair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, twins Twins TWINS
GOOD WAY TO CLOSE OUT THE OCTA CHAPTER, EXCELLENT WAY TO CLOSE OFF THE OCTA CHAPTER IN FACT 🫶 Can you tell I love the Tweel parts/j

Some BP/HH/General asks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That mood when you want to share all the things but also want to keep it under wraps for the actual thing haha! Thanks very much anon!
As for your questions, I can't actually be specific cos there's no definitive number I have in mind for either. Basically there are a number of sectors (you can consider them their equivalent of countries - they have less than what we do though), and a number of species of demon of which I've designed about seven of. The ones I've shown before are these guys (and do you think I could find this pic again? No, I had to recreate it cos for the life of me I couldn't remember what ask I'd previously stuck it in lol):
Tumblr media
One day when i have enough species and stuff out there I want to make a proper field guide \o/
Tumblr media
Thank you very much for the interest! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ I would actually love to for BP, but before I jump the gun there I have to get the comic out first lol. That being said I have made mini-games before featuring the HH versions and some other characs alas they are all lost at the moment to the sands of Flash becoming obsolete 😩
Me and Gato do still collab sometimes (and send each other Xmas presents)! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Tumblr media
I have been working on one off and on for a while actually! Hopefully I'll have some pages to post next year or so*, I've been doing a bit of thumbnailing recently :D
*that is the plan but i also don't know where people find the time to do anything with a full time job lol.
Tumblr media
Hullo! Glad you are enjoying the snippets of BP I've got here and there :D Here is an older ref on Izm back when i first got the idea (at that time i didn't really plan to do anything with it, it was just an AU. Now it's my main project haha. Anyway the ref is a little bit out of date in that regard.)
I used to have a "field guide" which was also made quite a while ago, unfortunately the death of Flash kinda killed it. Here's a screenshot of some relevant info from it though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's an interesting one as it's questionable how sentient souls are after removal 🤔 In my mind its only form is the smoke light, it can "see" to some degree and MIGHT be able to talk (but in a very no one can hear them sort of way, a la i have no mouth and i must scream. So i guess it can think "aloud"). The more time passes the less sentience it has.
It could try, though it wouldn't really get anywhere if it's in Rire's collection. He might just eat it lol.
Tumblr media
.D: Good with kids, will be fine in all aspects.
Izm: The fun dad however needs a partner that knows what they're doing to ensure the child safety during shenanigans.
Marcus and Zeke: Also would be good parents though might be more helicopter out of protectiveness/worry when first starting out.
Ren: Geek parent very good for homework help. Some Asian parent tendencies eg "ah see, i told you not to do that right? Now you see what happened."
Tumblr media
They are similar to our known society for this! So basically, there are some good families out there (eg Zeke - who is a demon - is from a pretty average loving family), and there are some bad families out there who only care about power or having an heir or whatever.
Tumblr media
HH Rire is a human. I differentiate between him and Demon Rire because they are two different characters...even though they are also technically the same character lol. You can consider them as alternate universe iterations of a base "Rire" concept.
Tumblr media
I actually half jested this in an old comic lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am sorry to inform you that a HH webcomic doesn't actually exist 😅 I did a lot of art, animations and one shots (such as the HHJ comics) with them, but nothing actually planned or serialised or anything. Whatever's currently on my DA or here is basically what exists.
Tumblr media
Bringing this image back cos it's relevant lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You spelled it correct there though! XD

Some details from the Undertale Legends of Localization book
271 pages! If the localization of Undertale into Japanese interests you, I suggest getting the book off of Fangamer yourself. Anyhow, here's some details I noted from my reading:
-"mt.ebott is "toby" backwards, inspired by mt. itoi from MOTHER" (translation note from Toby to 8-4). This detail is also mentioned at another point in the book.
-An image of the debug tool that 8-4 developed to quickly jump to points in the game has "No Mercy" as a tab...(?) selector...(?). I don't quite recall what other names have been used for the route 'officially', so found it interesting enough to note. It is also referred to as such a few other times in the book.
-The name they used for the fallen human (shown in their debug tool menu image) is "Rose".
-Toby instructed the translators to keep ICE-E somewhere, even if to keep it funny the wordsearch got changed to something else.
-It has been known by people already, but the book notes how each item has three names! One standard name, one abbreviated for battle menus, and one abbreviated for battle menus during serious scenes. I think I recall some post calling it "Serious Mode"...? For example, the Butterscotch Pie goes in the battle menu from "ButtsPie", to "Pie" in the Toriel fight from "Serious Mode" . (Though, it says they cut the abbreviating for the Japanese translation as there were less space needed for the item names. I guess that means the japanese version didn't get any 'silly' item name variations...?)
Now, this gets pretty long, so I'll just put a readmore here...
-The translation of the Wrong Number Song comes up in the book, and it actually references that the main fan theory for who the "G" is is Gaster! BUT it reveals nothing about it basically. Toby remained mysterious about the "G..." person referenced in the call, with his note on it being "Character's name beginning with "G"... Actually, it might be suitably bizarre if you leave this line completely intact in English." Disappointing, but admittedly expected that this book wouldn't give any more details about it.
Apparently initially the localization team also thought it was meant to be "Gaster" and put a "Ga--" in an early draft, but it got overruled by Toby's decision to keep the call in English.
-A section emphasizes how while Monster Kid's dialogue uses ore, a more masculine pronoun, ". . .Toby designed the character to have no clear gender," and "Monster Kid's gender is never specified in the original script." I personally found it nice how the section asserted Monster Kid's gender neutrality and emphasized the pronoun choices being more purely used to reflect character, and chosen after consultation with Toby. -Onionsan's unclear gender led to the translators choosing for them to use watashi (which the section describes as a "polite, somewhat gender-neutral" pronoun), or simply "Onionsan" (which works to emphasize their childish vibes). -There is nothing about Frisk/their name is never mentioned. A section on Parsnik only notes that Hard Mode is accessed when you "give yourself a certain human's name." -Apparently Toby says Alphys is pronounced "al-feez"
-It is noted that Toby did not mean to reference the "it's over 9000!" meme with the dialogue "OH YES! MTT-BRAND OVENS CAN REACH TEMPERATURES UP TO NINE-THOUSAND DEGREES!" -For the (slightly inaccurate) Kitchen quote CHECK text (two lovers standing over the cauldron of hell...), Toby asked the translators to just translate it directly instead of grabbing the exact lines from the Japanese version of Kitchen. The section emphasizes how Toby was so unattached to it being a reference that he specifically requested the translators to not bother with it.
-There is a section on Entry Number 17 (the wingdings one, not the unused alphys one)! However, it is not referred to as such, merely vaguely talking about it- how most people never see some of the lines in Undertale, and the process of translating the wingdings. (They wrote out the Japanese translation with English spelling, keeping the same wingdings font.)
The image examples they use are images of the wingdings "THE DARKNESS KEEPS GROWING" and it translating to wingdings "YAMIHA NOUDO WA MASHITE YUKU". Funnily enough, the section notes ". . .it almost feels like these messages contain dark secrets. . ." and ". . .the localization team wanted to preserve the 'dark, mysterious, and unreadable' vibe in Japanese too." "Dark" twice... ha ha, these writers, I swear...
Sadly, no mention of Gaster or any other insight on the entry. An example sentence they use for Wingdings is "I EAT BUGS EVERY DAY," so uhhh maybe that's a clue that he's a bug eater? (I'm joking...) -"Asriel Dreemurr" being an anagram of "Serial Murderer" is confirmed to be intentional by Toby. -Toby notes how the "But it refused" line has two meanings: One, that it can mean "refused to die," secondly, that it can mean "'re-fused', referring to how the heart fragments fuse back together again." It's another thing that's been noted by some people, but a neat detail regardless!
Alright, that's what I've got...! There's a lot of other stuff, like how dialogue that was referencing other games was handled, (which is a LOT), but these notes are what I found the most personally interesting and relevant to Undertale.

Hey! Welcome to the Games vs Animation Tumblr page.
Tumblr media
GvA // Games vs Animation is an Alan Becker AU that swaps the stickfigure cast of AvA, AvM, etc. with the AvG crew and other online creators associated with the channel.
Below is a diagram of the main swaps:
Tumblr media
(If this looks familiar, that's because this was also shown in the AvG 1 Million Subscriber Special.)
-
Some tidbits regarding the AU
What was the origin behind this AU?
The "origin" of this AU can be derived from CharlieV's (AvG Director) and Torribash's (AvG Thumbnail Artist) stick OCs, which were created for a now cancelled community project. However, their existence, along with Skim's (AvG Editor) joke character, and Alan and DJ's thumbnail stickfigures perfectly filled the roles of the Color Gang & TSC. Thus, the Hue Crew & The Dormant One made their debuts. (Torri and Charlie contributed additional info for the AU, too.)
How are swaps decided/how do they work?
It was pretty easy at first to decide who's who with the AvG cast in mind. But when those choices are filled up, or when it's a minor character, or even when we need to swap around an area (ex. Herobrine's school cause he's swapped as well), we try to incorporate swaps that, well, swap in other ways while still adhering to the intended "vibe" of the AU. For example, Victim being swapped with Carl-bot was due to the joke that Carl-bot on the AvG Discord Server was renamed as "off-brand skim," a relationship that could mirror TSC and Vic. This eventually lead to the mercenaries, who were also void of any online creators to swap with, being swapped with the other AvG Bots.
Why is DJ swapped with Blue and not Green, his favorite character?
On the TikTok page (and from DJ himself), we've been asked why DJ wasn't swapped with Green. There are two reasons for this. One, when we asked Torri and Charlie which characters Mar and Rhonk would fill in for best, Torri responded with Green. And we just rolled with that. Additionally, Alan and DJ working together for their part in AvM S3 seemed fitting, and that happened with Yellow and Blue. Keep in mind, though, that there is some overlap between Mar's characterization and Kenji's, so one could argue that the roles of Green and Blue are mixed among them.

So more Witch’s Castle info has been revealed (not officially but I imagine that’ll be soon, given how the official Twitter account has been relatively active recently)
I’m putting it under the cut because of that, and frankly it’s just because I want to give my thoughts
So first off, there was a preview trailer in a scrapped Witch’s Castle website with some gameplay footage, I’ll link the post here so you can see it yourself
Honestly, the gameplay doesn’t seem that exciting to me, probably because I’m not that into mobile puzzle games, but I like literally everything else about the game, so I’ll just have to suffer through it when the game comes
Then there’s this shot that happens at the end with all the characters
Tumblr media
We got this one green character we haven’t seen yet, which is interesting
But also another thing, Sachertorte and Marble Danish really don’t look like they belong here, they look like they’re supposed to be in Kingdom. Like they just look really overly detailed when our main characters are all really simple looking. Witchberry and Radish I think match up well enough, they’re more detailed than the main group but not overly so, and I haven’t looked at the green one enough yet to say
And then there’s this post about Witch’s Castle’s release date
Tumblr media
From what I can gather, it sounds like March 15th will be when the reveal date is announced, that being July 17 according to the emoji
And then also there’s this witch on the picture, alongside First Cream. So now I wonder, is First Cream like this witch’s main Cookie creation? Like, First Cream is her companion or carries out her bidding? Because they look pretty similar, and it’d match up with First Cream’s presumed Legendary status
Also apparently in the merch(?) there’s also shown to be more witches, as well as an artbook open to a page about one of them
Tumblr media
So does that mean we finally get to see more about the Witches, their role in the world, and their relationships with the Cookies? (I mean yeah that was implied by the name and game’s first official trailer, but this is just more confirmation) And not only that, but the Cookies are navigating a world made for people a lot bigger than them?
It’s literally everything I want out of Cookie Run, I am getting this game when it comes out, even if I don’t care much for the gameplay

An (Over) Analysis Of Obscura: Cirrus
This is mostly me ranting about Cirrus' character and my opinions about him.
Spoilers ahead for Cirrus and his route ahead.
Trigger Warning: Implied abuse of power, trafficking, murder, religious themes and Sadism.
First Impressions
Cirrus is one of the main Love Interests of Obscura and he's portrayed as the "Humble Priest", which is stated in the intro of the game, the game's main page on Steam and Itch.io, and the Trailer.
Looking into Cirrus at first glance, he is shown as the "Guiding One" whenever someone comes into the Lunar Church in the Marketplace. He is the priest of the church after all, so it is his duty to provide guidance to the people who seek help or retribution.
Route and Character
[Spoilers for Cirrus' route up ahead.]
In Cirrus route, Cirrus comes off to Vesper, or the Player, as a welcoming being when we first step foot into the Lunar Church. He is seen as benevolent and open to all who comes in. But as soon as we try to engage in small talk, he almost immediately shuts it down, commenting on how mouthy Vesper is. It's safe to say Cirrus doesn't like small talk.
Looking at this interaction alone indicates how he prefers to go straight into business and not wanting to beat around the bushes. He is a busy man, after all; a priest, nonetheless. He'd rather get things over with as quickly as possible so he could move on to his next business that needs to be attended.
Moving forward with Cirrus' route, he can be pushy at times when we refuse him. For example, there is a looping sequence where if you refuse, Cirrus highly recommends to rethink our decision. And if we still refused, he says the same thing over and over again until we comply to his word.
Cirrus does not take 'no' for an answer. He wants obedience and submission and doesn't want any questions to be asked when he tells them to do something. His position in power gives him an edge compared to everyone else, so he's more of an imposing figure and will most likely pressure someone to comply, whether they like it or not.
And as we go forward into Cirrus' route, depending on our choices and interactions, the tension between Vesper and Cirrus becomes more... Intense, to say the least. Cirrus has a way of building up that tension. He comes off to Vesper as a welcoming and Humble Priest, like we see him in the beginning, but slowly demonstrates his dominance and power over others.
And when I say "dominance", I say it as in an intimidation tactic. Cirrus uses his power to influence our choices; quite literally when the choices are:
"Yes."
"Yes."
"No." "Yes."
At some point in the game. In other words, we have no choice but to accept him. And this is seen strongly during our first timed choices. The timed choices gives us pressure to choose and makes us panic. And depending on which option you choose, it can result in multiple bad endings if you're not careful.
But if you manage to get to the path leading to his neutral or good ending, his presence is still intimidating to us as the player. And that dominance seen clearly in his CG art. Comply to whip yourself, he looks down on you and watch with a sadistic smile. Don't comply; he does the whipping himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, we see him towering above Vesper, making them look small in comparison to his already talk stature. He looks down with a grin. The lighting of the scene makes him look malicious compared to when we first meet him.
Cirrus may be known as the "Humble Priest" when in actually, he is the "Sadistic Priest" once you play his route.
After the initial whipping scene, it can go either way depending on your choices, he could either help you on finding the Lunar Ichor cure or get rid of you as soon as possible.
The Endings and Intimacy Points
I won't do each ending because there's a lot of endings but I will talk about how Cirrus handles the situation in the endings. There are two categories of Cirrus' route endings: Help and Remove.
If I remember correctly, Cirrus has two Help Endings.
The neural and good ending tells us that Cirrus sees us as someone who's worthy of his time and energy to lend a helping hand in finding the Lunar Ichor. The Help Endings tells us that Cirrus will only give us help if we show him he has power and we submit to him. If we are willing to give him power over us, he will provide us with the answers we need. He is a priest, after all. He is there to provide to those who seek help and guidance.
And then we have the Remove Endings. As what it implies, there are many ways for Cirrus to "remove" us from his presence. One of which we remove ourselves from him all together if we have chosen one of the timer options. Going back to Cirrus, he has other ways of removing us from him, which are literal back stabbing (murder on the spot), and selling us off to someone else.
If he sees us as someone who's unworthy of his time and energy, he won't hesitate to get rid of you. It is "out of sight, out of mind" for him. He is a priest, after all. He has other important matters to attend to.
And when it comes down to his Intimacy Points, you just gain a perfect 6/6 when getting his best ending. If not, you're automatically on the neutral and bad endings. The points tells us that Cirrus prefers perfection and has high standards when it comes to devotion. It's either him or not when it comes to his standards on you.
He's the "You're either with me or against me".
Design
When it comes to Cirrus' design, he has subtle hints that he is not all that he seems to be.
Tumblr media
If we look carefully into his design, we see a lot of snake imagery on his priest robes. Snakes are often associated with evil or the devil in Christian Mythology. The snake also represents deception, trickery, and manipulation, which is also seen in the story of Adam and Eve, where Eve is tricked by a snake, who is the devil, into eating the forbidden fruit.
Cirrus is a priest; a follower of the Lunar God, nonetheless. The star pattern on his blue scarf and crescent moon brooch indicates his worship of the Lunar God. But he doesn't act like how a priest should be like as we progress into his route. The snakes on his robes may have been a foreshadowing as to who Cirrus really is.
Moving on to Cirrus' himself, in all of his sprites, he stands straight up with his shoulders square and chest out. Here are some examples of his sprites as reference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is not seen slouching or hunched over in any of his sprites. He stands straight and tall. It gives him a kind of presence that tells us that he is a very important person, as to which is is. His posture, along with his already tall height, adds to his intimation and dominance over us as Vesper.
A proper posture for someone who must be seen as nothing but perfection. His statues as a priest also comes into play here.
As a follower of the Lunar God, and quite possibly the closest thing to the Lunar God themselves, Cirrus must be seen something similar to a God. He must be perfect in everything. From how he stands, the way his clothes are fitted, the way his hair is styled, even the design of his mask.
He is seen as someone who's other worldly, given the fact he's much paler in comparison to the other Love Interests. His white hair also gives him a somewhat glow to his figure. He is, in other words, ethereal to look at.
And finally, his mask's design. The mask is simple in design, but it's also eye catching enough with it's intricate lines that makes us look at his face more than anything else on him. The mask is eye catching enough for us to pay close attention to him more, which gives him an advantage when conversing with us, and possibly manipulate our decisions.
Conclusion
Cirrus is a complex character that has many layers to him. He is cunning in deceiving the player and manipulate our choices. He is a master with his way of building the tension between him and Vesper as the route progress and how we see him go from the "Humble Priest" to the "Sadistic Priest". I'm sure there's still more about his character I've most likely skimmed over. But this is what I've managed to gather so far about him and his character in his route. And so far, he's terrifying yet fascinating to study on.

Feb 2012…still
Harry slept like he never did before. He can’t quite remember his dreams when he gets violently woken up by Niall, but he remembers what he felt during his sleep. He had his own little theories of what he was dreaming about, more like who he was dreaming of, but he doesn't have to tell Niall that–who has a shit-faced smirk on his face.
“Why the fuck did you have to wake me like that?” Harry groans, looking at his surroundings and realizing they are in what appears to be in Zayn’s hotel room, judging from the amount of his clothing littered throughout the room. “What’s your problem, huh?”
“I was just curious about who your little friend is from last night.” The blond chided, practically tearing the raggedy blanket that was on its last leg off from Harry. “You have to give me the details.”
“H-how do you know about her?” Harry’s voice littered with sleep as his eyes just got accustomed to the light.
“I went on Instagram like everyone else and saw your post–”
Harry practically jumped off from the cold hardwood hotel floor and searched the large room for his phone. When he finally found it, his hands were shaking as he typed in his password and clicked the little instagram app icon. His notifications were flooded more than usual, but he checked his account and saw he had one post, and it was all too familiar.
Harry isn’t that active on social media from a posting standpoint, he only really consumes. Occasionally, he will steal one of his friends' phones and type some random stuff and post it but that was mainly on Twitter and nothing personal would be shown; just some random words that made the victim of one of his pranks seem drunk. But he never posted from his account.
Until now, apparently.
He clicked on the photo and it was the same photo that he took of him and Y/n last night. Y/n had a growing smile on her face while Harry’s smile completely showed all of his teeth–it was a silly photo of just friends, hopefully that's what the media would think; but Harry wasn't so optimistic.
Harry was still getting used to the fame and all of the attention. It could be positive, or more times than not it would be negative, and as scared as he is to go on online to see what people are saying, he is more concerned with Y/n.
He clicked on her profile, and it was nice. A little hectic yet somehow professional–clearly used by Y/n. He clicked the follow button, but figured that's not as dramatic as the photo.
He did an ass move and posted a photo of them together–he knows that she knows what people would think, nothing could stir up more drama then that; especially with that being the first and only photo he’s ever posted on his very public account that is gaining new followers this second.
The new wave of followers seemed to be fan accounts of her. A significant portion had Y/n’s name in the username and the others seemed to be fan accounts of The Hunger Games and Les Miserable–most of which had her as the main focus of their account. But what surprised him the most were accounts with both of her name and his name together. It made him blush and almost forget Niall was in the room with him.
“Are you lookin’ at the photo of you two?” Nail asked, peering over Harry’s shoulder to instead find him creeping on accounts that weren’t just fan pages of one of them, but of both of them together. “They’re makin’ edits of you guys already, Jesus, do these people ever sleep?”
“Shut up.” Was all Harry could say in his embarrassed voice.
“Sad thing is you didn’t even introduce us.” Niall tutted. “Can’t wait to tell her about that sock I found--”
“I didn’t mean to post this.” Harry admitted, going to his contacts to text her after it really sunk in what he had done.
“Well obviously.” Naill laughed. “That's what's great about it–”
“No seriously, she’s gonna hate me.” Harry started panicking, writing out this long apology text to Y/n, explaining how he didn’t mean to post that photo of you two and how he is so sorry for all of the hell breaking loose. He couldn’t even imagine what she was going through right now.
“I just met her last night and we just talked. I didn’t ask her to date or anything–”
“Get your asses up! We gotta leave in thirty!” They heard Liam shout through the door. Harry was terrified as he pushed send without reading the text over beforehand. And of course he embarrassed himself further by finding at least five typos within the first third of the message.
“She’s going to hate me forever, Niall.” Harry whined, genuinely on the verge of crying which would only make his hangover worse and cause him to spiral. He leaned into his friend and Niall had to hold back a laugh.
“It’s cool man. I’m sure she completely understands that it’s a harmless photo–”
“But it’s not!” He groans. Niall, having enough of Harry’s behavior, snatches his phone away. “Give it back.”
“No. You need to focus.” Naill says. “I know you and you’ll end up being all whiney and not being able to work today.” Naill heads towards the door, keeping Harry’s phone out of reach.
“But–”
“Go cry in the bathroom and get changed. I’m not letting you have this back until you’ve gotten out of this.”
\\
Y/n woke up completely hungover from the night before, not to mention she barely got any sleep last night. As she snuck back to her hotel and nearly collapsed when she saw her bed, not bothering to charge her phone, causing it to be dead by the time she woke up. Luckly, her manual alarm woke her up for wardrobe
She changed into comfy clothes that she knew she would be changing out of soon enough, and left for the set. The hotel was rented out for the cast and crew of Les Miserable as it was right on set and such a convenience for everyone, but that meant that everyone could see Y/n making her way out to set if they were up.
She got a couple of glances as she was on her way out, she assumed it was because they knew she snuck out. There was no rule saying that cast and crew members couldn’t leave site, but what ever they did couldn't infringe on their contract; Y/n still made an effort to not make her leave too noticeable out of guilt and knowing that it could possibly lead to an unpleasant rumor about herself. But she was on time and normal, just hungover.
She was relieved to find a dear friend of hers, Helena Bonham Carter, in wardrobe as well. She was like an on-set mother to Y/n, always so caring and nice to her but gave her tips and advice for where she could improve–they were given with all of the kindness in the world so Y/n never minded.
Helena smiled when she saw Y/n walk in. “Hello lovely.” She quickly engulfed Y/n in a hug then pulled back, slightly frowning. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just tired and I have this headache–”
“From that party right?” Y/n sighed as Helena said that. She didn’t know how she–and what seemed like everyone–found out, but Y/n wasn't surprised.
“How do you know I went out?” Y/n asked her eyes scanning the room incase of any listening ears.
“Your little boyfriends post–”
“What boyfriend?” Y/n nervously laughed. She was nervous as first of all, whoever this boyfriend was, and second, what did they post of her. A part of Y/n thought Liam had posted something, not that she remembered being with him or his phone pointed towards her. The old time she knew that there was a photo of her taken was with Harry.
“The singing guy in the boy band. The one with the sideswept lego hair–”
“Harry?”
“Yes, and you two make a cute couple. Don’t know why you were curling his hair though, it seemed curly enough.”
“Does everyone here know?” Y/n asked Helena and she thought about it then nodded. “God.”
“Lots of online articles have been circulating, hun. Especially since you have the Hunger Games movie coming out next month which makes you more relevant and your boyfriends going on tour–”
“He’s not my boyfriend.” She sighed. “Can I see your phone? Mines dead.”
Helena nodded and gave it to the nervous girl infront of her. She placed her arm on Y/n’s shoulder in support as Y/n typed in her name along with Harry Styles. So much came up.
The first article said that they’re now dating, but apparently for the past few years. Another said they were engaged and so did the following one. A bunch of stereotypical rumors–some included pregnancy, which she was not looking forward to denying it to her parents and having that conversation–but there was one in particular that caught her eye.
Wanna-be star Y/n is now dating One direction heartthrob Harry Styles as a weak attempt to rise to fame!
That pissed Y/n off. If anything, Harry would be using her for fame, because as of right now, she is worth way more as he is. But even that was beside the point, she looked at the photo again and they both seemed to be happy, and maybe sort of in love–how could that one interaction prove that she is using him for fame?
“Maybe I should take that back…” Helena pried her phone away from Y/n’s hand as the young girl stared off into space, lost in thought. “Sweetie, you should go get into costume and practice your lines.”
Helena ushered Y/n off to the waiting crew member to get her into costume as she just went along, too stunned to do much.
Like usual, the day was long. So long in fact, she hasn't been able to sneak away to her room and charge her phone. A part of her didn’t want to see all of her notifications on her phone though. She didn’t want to talk to her friends and family about it, quite frankly she just wanted to sit with Marmalade and Sugar in her flat in London, maybe have a chat with her close friend Alex who is currently pet-sitting them--some ice cream would be nice too.
But she pushes through the day looking like she’s been dragged through the dirt–while presumably being dragged online for a harmless photo. When she finally can leave, she practically sprints up to the room. She opens the door then slams it shut behind her. She plugs her phone in and then goes into the bathroom to have a shower and try to destress.
It was late, and she must’ve yawned hundreds of times in the shower as she rubbed all of the prosthetic dirt off of her face and body. She reluctantly left the warmth of the shower, dried her body and hair then did her face routine. It all went quicker than she would’ve liked, because she knew that she had to go on her phone and that would be a problem of itself.
She settles in the comfort of her home away from home bed and preps for the worst.
Her phone is charged and she is terrified.
The first thing she sees is an alarming amount of missed calls along with her voicemail overflowing from calls from her siblings and parents. Her messages were the same. But she procrastinated going through those, instead she went to instagram. Of course she looked up Harry and saw that he was following her so she followed back–she does hope they are friends after all, although Y/n would understand that this situation wouldn’t make the best start. She clicked on the photo and smiled; he did look pretty, she would like to see him smile like that again–in person.
She made the mistake of looking at the comments. Some were in shock, others were compliments, and of course, the rest were plain rude. She did what was best for her and closed out of the app, now moving onto the next challenge.
She got back to her PR team first, all who said that the photo was really harmless and they could make a statement if that was what Y/n wanted. She thanked Vivian, the head of the team, and texted that if it didn’t die down within the next week then she would consider it. She then texted Alex, who she assured that it meant nothing and would call when she felt like she could breathe.
Y/n reluctantly texted her family in a groupchat, saying that she was not seeing anyone and all rumors are false–she just made a friend and took a funny photo with them. She also ignored their individual messages, not bothering to read them.
The last thing she saw were messages from an unknown number. They had awful spelling and were incoherent but so clearly from the boy who got them into this mess.
She was stopped when a call came through. She answered when she saw the familiar number.
“Y/n?”
“Harry?”
“Oh my god, I am so so sorry for gettin’ you in this drama. I completely understand if you don’t want to talk or be near me again–”
“Harry, calm down. I am not mad at you.” Y/n interrupted him when sense rambling coming.
Harry whined on the other end of the call. “But I posted the photo, a-and now some magazine thinks we’re having fucking twins–”
“That isn’t your fault.” She reminded him, then sighed. “Look, I am not happy about this at all. I don’t like being called a gold digger and having these rumors circulate; but there is nothing we can do.”
“I can take the photo down, Louis might have to help me though because apparently I keep fucking everything up.” He groaned, pushing his head into his pillow on the bed; currently on his way to the next site for practice in northern England. “What can I do to make you feel better?”
Y/n didn’t really know what to say. Honestly, she would like his company and everyone to forget about the photo, but there was nothing realistic he had to offer. She did appreciate the sentiment though.
“Maybe you can just talk.” She asked, albeit, in a softer voice than before. “Talking helped me sleep last time, and–I think we just need a distraction.”
Harry was a little stunned, but that didn’t stop the smile on his face. “Yeah, so today I woke up with the worst hangover ever. Then proceeded to go to rehearsals and then get shimmed into the tour bus with Niall who conveniently forgot to shower after dancing for like two hours straight–swear I can smell him from here.”
“Are you on the bus now?”
“Yeah, think we’re goin to some studio in Manchester–”
“That’s close to where you grew up right?”
“Yeah, wait, how did you know?” He smiled when she said that–did she look him up? He thought it would make it even since he looked up Y/n.
“No, just from your accent. Got Sugar from up there.” She chuckled.
"Sugar is the cat, right?"
"Yup."
"Knew it." He chided. “I gotta admit; I'm a little sad you didn't look me up.”
“Have you looked me up?” She asked charmingly, and of course, it made Harry’s face turn red.
“Uh, no?” He was tired, but Y/n hummed an okay that got Harry to crack. “Okay, so I might have looked you up on instagram and might have creeped on your page.”
“Anything else?”
“Might’ve watched a few clips of you actin’.” He tried to shrug it off, but he really didn’t want to end up confessing he read her whole wiki page–grant it, it’s not super long, but he was curious and truly fascinated by her; he couldn’t wait to get to know more about her.
“Well, what did you think?” Y/n thinks she knows what clips he’s talking about. Most likely leaked scenes from Les Mis that she knew were circulating, or it was the trailers for the movies–either way she’s flattered.
“Enough to know you deserve a Grammy.”
“You mean an Oscar?” She laughed and Harry just sighed and internally yelled at himself.
“If you have music on the brain you can focus on that if you wa–”
“No! I really like this little late night talkin sesh. Very nice to talk to you.” He admits, sweat now starting to form on his forehead. This was being bold, even for him. “I also just want to make you happy. I know everything is going to be shit for the next couple of days.”
“Ugh, we just need to wait till some other celebrity posts nudes or something.” She groaned, making Harry smile. “But you’re right, this just needs to blow over.”
“Wish I was around to make you feel better.” He sighed, rubbing his eyes, but that’s when an idea popped into his head. “Hey, um, I don't know if this is too soon but when are you done filming?” He asks, biting his lip.
“I think in March, why?”
“You should come to one of our concerts in April then, we’re taking a break from touring till then but I’m gonna be doin all of this work but I would like to see you soon, if you’re okay with that.”
Harry's heart stoped while he waited for an answer.
“Definitely, we are just starting reshoots and Tom doesn’t think there will be much to do.” She told him excitedly. “Where is it?”
“Sydney…”
She paused. “As in Sydney, Australia?”
“Yup.”
Another pause. “Y’know what, sure.”
“Really? I can send travel plans now if you want–”
“That can wait for tomorrow. Just tell me I’m not going to regret flying out there for a One Direction concert.”
“Thought you were flying out for me?” Harry said with faux sadness.
“What do you mean? I've always been a die hard Directioner.”
"Really?"
"Yeah." She smiles. "Ever since I saw they had this really cute member with curly hair, I've been obsessed."
Harry blushed, his cheeks feeling warm. "As someone who is in One Direction, can I tell you something?"
"Sure."
"The one with curly hair thinks you're cute too."

apparently there's a uni page on the sparklecare website? other people know about it, but I feel like I should document this since it'll probably be deleted (or overhauled, you never know) in the renovation
I'll put the rest of the info under the cut if anyone's interested I guess.
the marquee text, for reading convience:
"You have swept me off my bro feet and stole my bro heart, and have shown me a bro-tiful side to this dark vain unforgiving bro-less world that I have never seen before… I now swear to dedicate my bro life to repaying the eternal brodebt I owe you for saving me, your bro-ness. Anything you ask, I will provide, I will be your bro servant if you so wish. What can I do for you bro, bro?"
hitting the "home" and "play" buttons just take you back to the main website. hitting the "about" button takes you to a subpage, I'll just copy over the text since layout wise it's the same as the main page
Tumblr media
first is this stat card for uni, I think it's really cute! pretty consistent with her section of the cast page so not much to write about unfortunately. also I lied; there's a unique "about" graphic above this, I just don't feel like copying it over.
anyhow, under this is the actual about text:
"My name is Uni S. Cornelius (the S stands for Several things and is up to interpretation) and I'm the swaggiest bro. My swag levels reach ungodly heights bro. I have so much swag that it's infectuous, anyone who comes within a 5000 mile radius of me is infected with exponential (Barry taught me that word) levels of swag bro. The body cannot contain this much swag and the only reason I still have lives is because my magic supports my body and keeps all my organs functioning and my muscles working. Otherwise my swag would instantly KO me and I would have no lives left. This would be un-epic. People (nobody) often ask me "Uni, how are you so swaggy?" and the truth is simple bros: I have chosen my swag. Swag is a choice. You too can be swaggy. Some people are swaggy naturally, but others can still become swaggy if they so choose. This is part of being an epic gamer. You need to make every moment a top ten moment in this game called life."
well not really sure what to make of this entire thing. I guess it was either meant to be part of the "explore" section but was never finished, or was just a site secret that wasn't implemented? It's neat enough for what it is though.

Hi there! I recently finished reading the Black Butler manga for the first time and I’m completely blown away!!! One thing I’m curious about and would like to know from a long-time manga reader: When did people start to seriously theorize that Ciel had a brother? I binge read the manga in less than a week and all of the foreshadowing/clues went completely over my head, so I would love to find out what made people start to get suspicious and what kind of theories started to pour in! 👀
Wow, that's a lot of reading in less than a week! I would have missed a bunch of little details, too, if I had tried that! 😯
When did 2CT start?
Well, I didn't join the fandom until sometime in 2015, and some people were already talking about various hints that there was probably a twin brother. @kurotwins and @akumadeenglish who are both not active here anymore (at least not on those blogs) we're talking about it, as well as some others I'm not as sure about. Apparently, the Japanese chunk of the fandom didn't really debate there being a twin; it was sort of accepted very early-on. It might be a matter of translation issues, like "sons" translated to "son", etc.
Anyway, I recall reading a bunch of their posts, and then I started paying more attention to a scene in ch1. Chlaus shows up with the packaging for a game called "Mouse3" by "Ninkyodo". Well, that's a parody of Mother3 by Nintendo, which was released in Japan on April 20, 2006. Unlike the previous two versions of the game, Mother3 never got localized as part of the EarthBound series. Which is why Chlaus tells our earl the "game" was so difficult to find in Italy. Of course, that packaging contains the drug evidence that our earl needed to show Scotland Yard. To put Azzurro Vanel (and potentially the Ferro family) away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The irises are used in both Victorian flower language and Japanese flower language to mean a few different things, but one meaning they share in common is something along the lines of "I have a message for you." Well, that message is the game packaging shown on the very next page.
Mother3 is about mirror twin boys who deal with tragedy soon after their birthday (9th or 10th). Their mother is killed by a monster, and their father is so distraught about her death that he goes into a rage and end up in jail for a while. Soon after the dad gets out of (escapes from) jail, he finds out the older mirror twin had gone off by himself to kill the monster, but now he has gone missing. Everyone is searching, but no body has been found. However, the player of the game can see Claus' broken body at the bottom of a cliff. It's understood that he's dead. The main characters still don't know, though. Not for another three, almost four, years. After losing his wife and being unable to find his older son, the father becomes kind of useless. Notice that the guy in Kuroshitsuji is Chlaus, and the older twin in Mother3 is Claus.
Three years later, Lucas (younger mirror twin) is about 13 years old, and he sets off on his own quest for revenge, along with the loyal family dog, Boney. The rest of the game takes place during this one year, then it ends just before his next birthday. The last thing Lucas has to do before he can "win" is defeat his own older twin brother, who had died, been turned into a Fascinating Chimera, and had been pitted against him.
So, I started coming up with my Mother3 theory for Kuroshitsuji back in December 2015. Back then, I was already theorizing that not only is there a twin brother, but he's a mirror twin. The missing twin is older, dead, reanimated, and will pop up again as an adversary.
Soooo, idk how long some version or other of 2CT has been around, but a very specific version of it came to me (and became very serious to me) in December 2015. And it's canon now: mirror twin brothers; one lives while the other dies; the dead one is reanimated; they end up having to confront each other.
Even Sebastian gets to parallel the roles of both the loyal family dog, Boney (under contract) and the Dark Dragon who must be given your "heart" to follow your will (as the demon who demands a soul as payment).
That's why I'm so into my Mother3 theory, which started out kind of small and grew and grew... because the similarities don't stop there. Not even close. Numerous characters and plot lines have strong parallels to Mother3 characters and plot lines, while a few are better paralleled in Mother and Mother2. The timelines are essentially the same between Kuroshitsuji and Mother3, too.
Maybe check out my "Why I theorize" post and my "Masterpost 1" for more on that, to get more into it. There are several masterposts and addendums, plus a few more masterposts on the way... eventually. When I first started posting about it, I didn't expect it to be such a big finding, but here I am, still talking about it! 😆

I normally just draw and not make long text posts but I have bundled up Natsu/Lucy feelings I want to word vomit ever since I picked up the Fairy Tail game out of curiosity (PLS & THIS & ?!?!) and most of all watched the Dragon Cry movie for the very first time a few months ago (July ironically). This movie dragged me back by the neck to this ship I loved several years ago.
Now I own a copy of the movie’s storyboard manga drawn by Mashima himself and the pamphlet. I flip through the pages of these two more times than I can count like-
Tumblr media
真島自らが描いた、ナツの回想の中ルーシィ Natsu’s recollection of Lucy, drawn by Mashima himself
I’ve read several essays + interview (i, ii, iii, iv, v, vi, vii to name a few) revolving around the famous nalu scenes in the movie, but I don’t think I ever came across anyone talking about what I think is the ultimate song that perfectly captures them in their entirety—Dragon Cry’s ending theme What You Are by Polka Dots.
There are only two translations I found, one of them being from the wiki but it’s a little off. This one is more accurate. My translation version is a mix of it plus usage of DeepL so it may not be entirely accurate but it’s close enough.
I absolutely see this song as Lucy -> Natsu due to obvious phrases within the lyrics and it fits my headcanon of Natsu being metaphorically Lucy’s brightest star. His name means summer which has ties to the sun, aka the brightest star. The sun is known to be the brightest star because it’s the closest to us, just like the person closest to Lucy is Natsu.
You're still you, no matter what Softly illuminating the darkness You're a star
Self explanatory, first line starts off with Lucy’s answer to Natsu’s “What do I look like?” question. This was first shown to us in the beginning of the movie so let’s keep that in mind.
Where is tomorrow? The past cannot be erased In a pitch-dark world I found a warm, enveloping light "It's gonna be okay" the voice said That voice echoed in my heart I want to believe in you, whatever you are Whatever the road I take, I want to be by your side I want to keep walking Wish on a star Let's find it, let's find it The only light
This can be easily depicted by my favorite scene in Snow Fairy opening, where Lucy’s world was rainy and bleak until a literal light shines through when she looks at Fairy Tail, particularly Mirajane and main team:
Tumblr media
She ran away from home, stripped herself from Lucy Heartfilia to just Lucy, and began her own journey. Her world was small and lonely due to her strict upbringing but it was thanks to Natsu, who led her to Fairy Tail, that her world brightened and expanded since that day. Hard as she tried, she couldn’t hide her Heartfilia name for long which led us to the Phantom Lord arc. Here was where Natsu firmly assured her twice that she could stay in the guild and that it is her home that she can come back to, because she’s Lucy of Fairy Tail. These feelings were further cemented towards the end of the arc by Makarov. From then, she stopped running away and faced her past/father head-on, before returning home to the guild.
The cherry blossom colored dusk reflects in your eyes I'm not sad, yet the tears spilled Someone once said that the most beautiful things are fleeting No matter what today is, it has meaning I’ll always be by your side I'll hold your hand tight Let's tell each other The feelings hidden in our hearts You're a star You're a star
This part screams post-Tenrou Island and GMG arc+. One of my top favorite chapters is chapter 257 which happened after the 7-year timeskip. Natsu, Lucy and Happy traveled to visit Lucy’s father only to find out he had passed away just one month prior. Natsu offered her words of comfort and space but it’s this chapter where the lost of time was incredibly overwhelming for Lucy. I truly believe it was after this day (her BIRTHDAY no less wtf Mashima, satanic much???) that “time” was seen more precious and that every day has a meaning. Lucy’s first step of moving forward was tagging along with Natsu and Happy on a job, and her monologue just hits.
Tumblr media
The concept of each moment being precious solidified during the GMG arc. Future Lucy lost her life to save her past self before wishing she could go on more adventures. Present Lucy proclaimed she had to laugh, cry, and live enough for both her and her future self. In Future Lucy’s version of heaven, it was Natsu who first called out to her and pulled her hand to say “Let’s continue on our adventure” before they ceased to exist.
And in the current timeline, present Lucy felt what Future Lucy felt in her heart. She then thanked Natsu, for saving her and their future.
Tumblr media
You ask, "What am I?" I'll answer, "You're you” That assurance is all we need from each other Let’s make a wish upon the shining stars You're still you, no matter what The one who gently shines in the darkness That's right, my own Superstar A Superstar that lights up this road that goes on and on You're a star
At the end of the song, we circled back to the beginning, just like we did in the movie where Natsu asked Lucy for the second time what he looked like and she assured him yet again that Natsu looked like Natsu, obviously. And this was enough.
Tumblr media
Natsu was the one who saved her (unintentionally) back in Hargeon thus leading her to Fairy Tail and stuck with her ever since. He became the person who she was closest to and vice versa. It was thanks to him that she got to experience so many things and came out stronger from it. Without meeting him and Happy, she wouldn’t be the person she was today. No matter what happens, as Natsu told her at the end of the main series, it doesn’t matter because they will always be together, to continue on more adventures!
I love when songs line up perfectly with the theme and this takes the cake. Thanks for coming to my TED talk as I continue to listen to this song on repeat and cry. I can’t wait until I can draw all of this out in the future, something similar to my comic here.
Also if there is an analysis of nalu + dragon cry’s ending theme out there, pls throw it my way thanks I will literally die on this hill.

Little rant about the fandom's treatment of Konig and Gaz because I am very hyperfixated on COD right now and this is a topic that bothers me way more than it should
(ALSO DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion, I don't think it actually really matters that much but I like to rant about dumb things)
As I have mentioned in other posts, Gaz is my favorite character from the MW campaign. Mostly because he's overall a likeable character and you can play as him in all 3 of the reboots. His dynamic with Price is also rather entertaining to watch
Call of duty was the first game franchise I was introduced to, which me being shown it back when I was around 5 or so. But I only ever played the zombies mode, stopped playing because I use to only play on an Xbox and had to pay for Xbox live in order to even play the modes I enjoyed and up until 2023, I didn't know there was any actual storyline. I thought the campaigns were just random missions without much of a story so I never touched them. I found out because I kept getting videos of people cosplaying or talking about characters such as Ghost, Soap, and Konig.
I bought the MW reboots on my computer and was very confused when I finished all 3 of the reboots and saw nothing about Konig in any of the campaigns. I had to look around online before realizing this character I saw so many people obsessing over wasn't in a single campaign from any of the games, he was just a random playable operator for the multi-player mode.
I was even more confused when I saw that he was a Colonel for KORTAC, because from the posts I had seen before playing the games, I had seen people adding him to 141 and straight up replacing Gaz for him. And based off of the things I saw online when I was doing the research to figure out who he even is and in the dialog for Konig, his personality is also very different from how I saw many people depicting him.
The version of Konig I saw on the posts about him was a 6'10 gentle giant UWU boi who was a member of 141 and extremely sweet/shy around his comrades but also simultaneously a terrifying threat around his enemies. And I know this is mostly an issue with tiktokers because it's tiktok but still
There are many, many inaccuracies with how I've seen so many people portray him. First of all, there is no way in hell he's 6'10. When you compare Konig's model to Ghost's model side-by-side, Konig is only very slightly taller than Ghost. Ghost is confirmed to be 6'2 1/2. And usually, militaries take men around 60-80 inches tall (5 foot to around 6'6) and people below or over this are much more likely to be rejected.
Let's now talk about his personality. While Konig does have social anxiety according to his wiki page, he isn't some sort of shy baby boy. He's a Colonel and most Colonels are between the age of 30-40. He isn't a child and none of his dialog depicts him with any sort of soft, shy, or childish personality. The main reason people mischaracterize him like this is due to the infantilization of mentally ill people. As someone who also has anxiety, having anxiety does not make you into some sort of shy UWU baby. We're still people and it's incredibly infantilizing to act like having anxiety makes people into these extremely shy and childish characatures.
This also goes without saying, but Konig is NOT part of 141 and he's not friends with anyone on 141 either. They probably don't even know he EXISTS. While this obviously isn't bad compared to something more serious like infanitilizing people with mental illnesses, its still just annoying to replace an already established and likeable character with some completely random dude. Gaz is part of 141, not Konig. 141 and Konig are not affiliated with eachother and they would probably try to kill eachother if they ever DID meet. Show Gaz the love he deserves

GERUDO REDESIGN - Physique part 1
Hey there! so, welcome to the first part of this design journey. it'll probably be quite long, already i wanted to make the first post with a full page of illustrations, but i managed to do only the first part, uhuh.
This redesign will be divided into sections, the first one being the bodies and appereance of this women.
Before starting with vomiting ideas, a few clarifications:
The main goal of this redesign is to make them less of a biproduct of our world's racism and sterotypes and a more grounded species of its own, with more defined characteristics and distinctions from regular humans.
In Hyrule there are many different species with their own characteristics. while the Gerudo are a different species, i personally consider them a subspecies of, without a better in-universe term, Humans, the macro category that includes them, Hylians and Sheika.
When i talk about average characteristics of them, it means that those are the most common and defining of the whole species, but exceptions can and do exists, sometimes even in large numbers, though maybe sparse.
this is a silly experiment of mine, an excuse to excercise while sharing it. many of my ideas will probably be flawed and i never intend for them to be considered "the right way of doing things", they are just my subjective opinion on the matter.
With that said, let's begin!
In the Zelda Canon, Gerudos as a species are defined by:
being able of birthing only women
generally taller than hylians
generally of dark orange skin tone (but as shown in later games, that too also varies), also a mix of middle eastern/african facial traits
resilient enough to endure the harsh conditions of the desert with less equipment than your average Hylian (kinda)
The poity noses seamlessly attached to their forehead
This list alone (hoping i haven't missed something) does not a good job in differentiating them from just a segregated group of regular hylians, just with brown skin and some genetic peculiarities, and thus the icky part. I don't want to reinvent them completely, but to craft a more (to me) interesting species of people out of these bases. Their appeal definitely skyrocketed with the Tears of the wild; though their improvement is mostly in their cultural and aesthetical display of things, there are some things in how they look that i'd like to keep.
Now, onto my first main changes:
Tumblr media
I know, sorry if you expected something more drastic. the fact is, i love the way they look in Tears of the wild, and to change them more it would feel too much like making a up a new species to me. so i wanted to build off their canon appeareance.
They are already quite tall (Urbosa canon height seems to be around 6.7 ft, and many cited a girl in a bar lamenting being 8 ft tall)...but i say why not taller. and bigger too! I honestly prefere the idea of them being somewhat giant beings, that impose themselves by presence alone. as they are, yes, in the game you feel the height difference, but somehow it got mundane pretty quickly. so again, with the goal of making them much more striking and distinct from other humans, they are on average much taller and with bigger proportions now!
Another feature that stood out to me in the games was their often really pronounced hips, with these protruding pelvic bones. that is a nice idea i think, so i decided to keep that on average, Gerudo have really protruding hips with really deep dips before the thigh. Probably i could've exaggerated that part even more, i'll try to going forward.
Body hair. here we go, this is the main idea and the thing that may ruffle the most feathers. I thought about what else could make them more striking than they are, then about the fact they always expose so much of their skin to hars conditions, and came up with the idea of giving them a lot of body hair. All this hair has the property of not only maintaing some body warmth and protecting the skin, but it also absorbs the cold of the night and balances it out. i don't know how it would work (magic hair!) but i think it could be neat that their survivability could be tied somewhat to their hair and how much they have of it. On a technical level, to sell this concept even more i think i should'ave covered her even more, but i'm already at my limit since i hate body hair ahah. you're free to draw you're own with fur on it.
A thing that is not represented here for clearness sake, but that will be explored later on, is that they also have facial hair! the way they style it will be in the culture section, but in my interpretation they can also have a beard and moustaches.
One last thing, Muscles. The way the games portray them, especially in Tears of the wild, make it seem like they naturally become shredded while growing up (aside from some chubby ones, but i guess the muscles might still be there, just covered). If that's the case, i honestly do not like it. Sure, it may be that they are naturally a species of naturally muscular women, but i think this misses the oppurtunity of making them more interesting for it. In my interpretation, they are for sure naturally strong, but mainly do to their height; task that a normal hylian would struggle with sure are easier if you're 3 meters tall! They do not acquire definition naturally though, that's entirely u to culture, living conditions and training regimes, which will be explored later on.
Ears. This is the thing that may change the most going forward since i'm not entirely sure, buuut...i don't like it that much that they have the same ears as hylians now. it's not that big of a deal, plus it has a pretty believable explanation, but i prefere a middle ground. Yes, millenias of evolution annd interbreeding with other humans has led to a difference in ears, but i prefere for it to be slightly elongated round ears instead of just elf ones.
And that's it for now, i think it's already a pretty long post uhuh. In the next part i want to explore (with drawings of course) skintones, facial fatures (noses my beloved!), hair colors and maybe something more.
Let me know if you like my ideas so far, i'd love nothing more than to start a discussion and to see other people's ideas flow freely! or to just criticize mine, uhuh.

Actually idk why fandom is so worried Chuuya might die when all signs indicate that's very unlikely to happen. I mean:
Chapter ended on cliffhanger. Asagiri does this often and it's always to hangs readers on suspense. Remember chap then ended with Kunikida and explosion? He was MIA for few chapters then turned out to be alive from something he surely would have died of (irl). Same thing with half of Agency happend at some point.
Which brings me to second point. In manga we saw no major or minor characters die. All who die are chapter based characters, such as Ace or that girl with bomb around her neck. Both times it's clear character was written solely with point of dying and serving as character development for another character (Fyodor and Kunikida). Chuuya has his own story in mangas and novels, it simply wouldn't be fitting to kill him off screen on 3 pages.
Some characters escaped death. Take Gogol for example, he was cut in half. Pulled ability trick and turned out to be alive. Kenji was stabbed by sword but turned out to be fine (another cliffhanger). Vilians who got defeated turned out to be fine too (Fitzgerald for example, he fell from great height but didnt die). There were many instances where Asagiri could easily get rid of characters but they(he? idk author's pronounce) decided to keep them all and involve in story later on again.
Chuuya is put under vampire ability curse. It's a wonder if he can even die as he's already 'undead'. Plus readers weren't shown how he got bitten/cursed and what happened of port mafia (no way they'll all die due to it, too many important characters are infected). Perhaps when Chuuya returns to being human (by Dazai's ability), he'd recall that in a flashback.
Chuuya's and Fyodor's survivals are connected. Dazai did that in order to kill Fyodor. Now, do you really think series main villan would go down like that? No way. Also Dazai is clever, he wouldn't gamble Chuuya's survival like that, so I don't think it'll be Fyodor lives but Chuuya dies situation either. Not to mention that Gogol is still around, he could put some shit. So from narratives perspective it'll make little sense to kill Chuuya in the manner chapter ended. Of course, some mangas have death for shock value and message that noone is spared from death's unexpectedness but BSD isn't one of those. It's more about mystery, complicated plot and mental games than shock value. Asagiri could put thousand ways to prevent their death as it was done before in story to other characters.
Which brings me to the last one: Dazai's reaction. Now, Dazai is morally grey character with manipulative or even sadistic side to him. Nonetheless, after Oda's death and him switching sides, he actively tries to be a better man. He's ruthless now only when he needs to be. He values life now. So only way I can see him drowning Chuuya on purpose is if Dazai concluded it's the only possible way to get rid of Fyodor and his gang once and for all and there is no other solution. Chuuya would be the sacrifice then. Since 1) no way Fyodor will die there 2) Dazai would gamble Chuuya's life on senseless mistakes in his schemes, Dazai knows there's a solid chance of their survival. Also his joke at the end is pretty good indicator that Chuuya isn't in danger, otherwise I seriously doubt he'd smile and jest like that.
Now, Dazai cares for lifes of his commanders. He wouldnt let Atsushi or Kunikida be killed thanks to his schemes. Nor would he let Chuuya. Here, his facial expression:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's mostly hidden from the view, eyes and mouth not shown in one picture - expression and emotions not meant for readers to see (because Dazai implicitly keeps his emotions in check and rarely shows them). He looks somber and melancholic. Evidently not happy with what he has to do, since there, after all, is the risk Chuuya might die. From Dazai's perspective. He recalls times they spent together, reminisce something about emotional bond, all things that are unlike his unfeeling self, and then -
Tumblr media
Turns it into joke and cruelty. I believe this is a mask to server for readers, Sigma and himself as well (also a good indicator that he's not taking this too seriously perhaps?). Because Dazai perceives emotions as weakness (he internalized that, maybe he doesn't think that consciously, but he does think that on primal ego level), he can't allow himself to be perceived as possessing a weakness neither by audience, Sigma, nor himself.

Sharing some thoughts abt a main character from a game from 2016 *spoiler warning*
Tumblr media
Ok so probably a lot of things have been already said about this game. Personally im very doubtful of the theory that the Huddle is controlling the boy because its debunked with the alt ending revealing that the boy seems to be controlled by a computer AKA us?
With that out of the way i just wanted to make this post to share my thoughts about the protagonist himself and his VERY contradictory nature.
Who is the boy and what is his role?
Tumblr media
"Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn into the center of a dark project." - from the game's steam page
If we go by the theory that he is part of some grand experiment to test the Huddle's capabalities then it doesnt make sense that he is hunted and chased down by the masked men. Why not just let him go do his business? Anyways with or without of the inclusion of the boy into the this dark project, judging by the diorama of the blob its "escape" from its confinement was planned. Maybe the kid just happened to be in the middle of the way by pure chance? Or he was programmed to head into the facility. OR is he a part of some sort resistance against the higher-ups?
Maybe he himself is a seperate project all together from the Huddle project. We could say that he IS programmed to head into the facility bc he always heads in one way and one way only towards the facility. But if he really is some boy looking for shelter than it also makes sense that he keeps heading in that way since from what've seen there aren't really any other hospitable places he could head to without being caught or him dying.
Either way, what's obvious is that the boy is some outsider or an anomaly if we go by the aggression of the dogs and the masked guards towards him. The dogs specifically are clearly trained to go after outsiders if they can sniff him out from the line of drones the kid had found himself in.
Now that im done speculating on his identity, i think its time to move on what exactly he is.
What is the boy?
From first glance its obvious the he is human. He reacts and acts like a person/kid would. He cant survive long falls, if he hits the ground too hard, its over. But why am i pointing this out? There's nothing unusual, right? The alternate ending, however, shows that that is not the case. Here is where his nature starts to really get contradictory in that he is it's revealed that he was a drone too all along. But something's not quite right.
From what we've been shown in the game the mind-controlled people (lets call them serfs) do not have a will of their own, they are empty shells to be used for labor. They are either artificial or normal humans turned into worker drones. Whats also known is that they are capable of survivng long falls and injuries.
Throughout the game the kid runs, swims and jumps without ever taking any brakes except for one occasion at the end of the shockwave sequence where he takes the elevator down. As he goes down, the elevator is hit with several shockwave blasts that manage to unhinge it from its railing, making it go down fast with it and the boy ending up in a deep pool of water. To escape the boy has to force open the elevator's door underwater and make it up to an opened hatch nearby. Right as he climbs up we can clearly see that the kid is exhausted, holding a hand up to his chest. If dont let him take a break and immeadiatly set on then he will move and climb in a lethargic way for a few seconds. Idk if im overthinking this scene too much or not. Its obvious that he has experinced distress and exhaustion. What im trying to point out is:
He behaves like a normal human while in action, but once you pull the plug he slumps over like a serf, shuts off like a robot. That's not normal behaviour you'd expect from a serf from what we've been shown.
Also let's not forget to mention the spheres scattered throughout the game.
Tumblr media
Some might think that these spheres serve as a large antenae to help control the boy, but when all of them are shut off he seems to be doing... fine? Them being shut off also seems to turn off the activity of nearby mindhats and control of serfs in the surrounding area.
Once you pull the main plug twice at the end of the room, everything shuts off. There is a mindhat with all these cables connected to it in the middle back of the room. It jerks when the boy jumps, so he is clearly connected to it. This mindhat is titled "Master Mind", so it's function is either to only shut off the boy's activity OR shut off all serf activity in general.
Also the location of the final orb contradicts the idea of this being a part of a resistance since its located in such an obvious spot. If someone were to follow the yellow wire up the wire, they would easily find it. or maybe im just overthinking it yet again, the lightning isnt very good there. food for thought tho
So in conclusion, the boy seems to be some different type of remote body that is convincing enough to be considered human. Maybe the way he functions is by certain points of his brain being stimulated or blocked by something somehow to make him act like a normal human. Maybe he's a less developed or a more advanced altered human in terms of the modification thats done for one to be turned into a drone ? Him having free will is under question, but its more likely he doesnt have free will at all. Idk, but if in this game a pool of water can be moved onto the ceiling and theres people who cant drown than maybe this is also could be possible.

Wrote this out of boredom uhhhh
For years I've just kinda ignored metasusie because I thought it was dumb more than anything, but seeing the new wave of fans latch onto the first straight ship they see it means I'm seeing it flood my timelines and I'm forced to think about it. I don't even subscribe to the MK has robot PTSD theory so much as I think it's just a bad read of both characters. I think people should be allowed to make and consume what could be considered problematic media as long as they still think critically about what they are doing and understand the effects their creations can have on people. But I'm not seeing that here. Listen if this was just a bad read of the characters I wouldn't make an elaborate post on it unless someone asked about it oop There are a lot of headcanons I think are shitty reads of the characters, but that's all they are. There is no point to take a fat dump on them other than I was bored and wanted to complain.
But metasusie isn't just that, it promotes harmful ideas rather the people that like the pair realize it or not. If the gender roles were switched more people would recognize that there was an unfair power balance and how icky the whole situation is, and if it isn't undermining MK then Susie is reduced to a sexy mannequin devoid of personality to look pretty next to the cool guy. I have never seen a ship that both completely disregards the media's message in order to exist and is so sexist for both characters involved; and I'd never thought I'd have to say that for a bloody Kirby ship.
I know I'm not changing metasusie fan's minds because they are very stubborn. After scrolling on Twitter too much it's clear that metasoos fans know their ship is problematic, and instead of reflecting on themselves they try to divert attention by bullying gay people or smth. I've seen them try to argue that metadede is the more problematic pairing, and as someone who does not like metadede, *bruh* it is as inoffensive as stock images lmao. Rather I'm writing this so that people that get there is smth off about the pairing but can put to words what they're feeling. Because if you so much as poke at the arguments supporting it, they immediately shatter they're so haphazardly put together.
And knowing what posting this will entail; please don't harass anyone over this, it won't help your point. I don't think that liking smth yikesy automatically makes someone a bad person, some people just legit don't know better. I think what matters more is how the respond after the fact, and to be patient with people because you can't expect anyone to change overnight. That said some people won't change their minds ever, and no amount of trying to cram the idea in their heads will change do that. Hell constantly poking someone about it when they have shown they don't care about the topic, even if you think they are wrong about it that's just bullying. If you can't change someone's mind they aren't worth the time.
So, the big point everyone has seen. Susie ripped MK of his humanity. When you say you "remodeled" someone and give them a new robot name you have dehumanized them. There is no getting around that fact, and this is a thing that happened in the main story not even as pause screen lore.
Tumblr media
How she describes him before the second fight is particularly degrading, calling him a product and referring to him as "it". The line about the upgrade enabling him to work for 24 hours is definitely commentating on long works hours lol
Tumblr media
People will argue that MK doesn't seem all that bothered by it so it's okay, I'd argue that isn't the case but let's go with this take anyways. Even if MK himself was okay with being reduced to a company's asset, the act of mechanizing someone against their will is still an irresponsible thing to do on Susie's end. I'm pretty sure 80% of metasusie fans didn't actually play Planet Robobot, but just so that we are on the same page, the plot of that game is that the entirety of Planet Popstar is robotized by the Haltmann company and Kirby has to save the planet from being taken over by comically over-the-top capitalists. Meta Knight is one of the many, many victims of robotization and the fact that the galaxy's greatest warrior was even taken over by the company is how the game raises its stakes. Whispey the tree becoming company property is bad enough, but the Haltmann company is just so damn powerful that not even Meta Knight could fight them off. This is the part where the player goes "oh shit! Not the badass Meta Knight!" The whole game is critique of capitalism, that the system reduces those at the bottom (the robotized) into cogs of a wider machine that serves to maximize profits that benefits only those at the top (the Haltmanns). Doesn't matter how good you are at sword fighting, that can't fight off an economic system man. And this game's critique of capitalism, while still simple because all ages game, doesn't get enough credit. That line about being able to work for 24 hours isn't just a joke about how hard a job is, under capitalism the people in charge wring out as many hours out of their employees as they possibly can. They'd like it if we were all just mindless robots because more hours means get more work done in a week meaning more profit and faster. Even if you are 10 and have never heard of capitalism, it's still clear that the bad guys are doing their bad guy thing by taking over the good guys. My point is by excusing Susie robotizing Meta Knight and saying it wasn't all that bad, you are excusing the rest of the planet being turned into a hellscape and its inhabitants being ripped of their humanity. You are saying that the game's message does not matter, that the game's entire fucking conflict meant nothing. After all, if MK being robotized wasn't so bad then why would Kirby need to save the whole planet? Some people really will ignore a whole game to justify a ship god damn.
Some people instead claim that what Susie did was awful, but she can improve as a person and MK can forgive her. There are a handful of things wrong with this mindset let's break it down.
First off, Susie has never shown a willingness to change. "But she helped Kirby at the end" technically yes, but was it out of the kindness of her heart or because she was already in danger and recognized that he was the only way to ensure she'd survive? Going by her dialogue it looks more like the latter. "I'm not going to stand here be be destroyed by some crazy machine!" You got to work on your optics girl.
Tumblr media
Compare and contrast this with Taranza helping Kirby in the end of Triple Deluxe. Taranza was blasted away Team Rocket style by Sectonia; he just had his best friend whom he was still loyal towards despite her changing for the worse finally betray him. He is literally blasted miles away from the big boss fight at this point and probably dealing with a lot of confused and built up emotions. And despite that, he goes to back to help Kirby and DDD defeat her having realized that she can't be saved. He could of stayed behind away from all the action, but he went back to do the right thing. Both Susie and Taranza would of died in their situations (Secc eventually becomes a ginat flower and starts to cover the planet) but Taranza was the one that put himself into more danger by going back. That's why he looks more selfless than Susie does. Not saying Susie didn't do a good thing either, nor that you can argue even Taranza might of had selfish motivations for wanting to survive because don't we all. But, because of the situation her motivations seemed more selfish in nature whereas Taranza put himself in more danger to save others.
Perhaps the intention was to have Susie be as admirable as Taranza was. I get the vibe the devs wanted Susie to be the next Taranza, but I don't think they captured what made him special. Yeah they both had sad backstories, but that doesn't excuse their bad actions. Rather they have to show them working to better themselves, and they had Taranza at the end helping DDD and Kirby back to Dreamland while Susie fucks off to space in her mech. If the intention was to make Susie nicer, then she should of been shown helping others more. Or maybe that wasn't even their intention, and Susie is just supposed to be a bad guy. Taranza and even the Squeaks in the infamously underwritten Squeak Squad make up for their actions at the end of their respective games, if they wanted Susie to reform they could have. And Magolor shows that if they change their minds on smth they can just retcon what happened in their next game appearance! So did they do that with Susie?
We would see her again in Star Allies, so if we get a plot follow up of sorts then it would be there. In it she's a Dream Friend; playable characters whose inclusion in the game are canonically dubious, but the information here is still significant because it's the closest thing we'll get to official media commenting on where the characters are after their own titles. It has been confirmed that there is no clear timeline, but it's fair to say that KSA takes place after all the other games because it references those, and how else would Kirby know all these people anyways? Ultimately the most common take is what you see is canon, and what people see is Susie helping Kirby and the game referencing the events of PR. Each playable character has a little blurb in their pause screens explaining why they are in the game. It should be noted that the people that translated the game were seemingly given like two days to complete it, so yes I will be bringing up the differences in versions, but the vast majority of people that played the English version only know about the English text. While the Japanese text is the "original", that doesn't make the English text any less valid no matter how bad you may think it is. In the English version Susie's blurb reads:
The company he built... I will bring it back!” Cool and collected, Susie from Kirby: Planet Robobot is all business. Following in the footsteps of her employer, she uses science to advance her mission—mechanizing new planets and peoples.
I don't think I even need to explain how this version of Susie is repeating the same villainous acts from her debut game. This is how most English players view the character rather you like it or not. Moving on to the Japanese version:
“His company…I’ll show that I will rebuild it!” Brushing aside a loose strand of shiny hair, the beautiful secretary Susie that inherited his will from Planet Robobot has taken action! A harmonious family, and a happy life, are offered with the power of science… I’ll exterminate the savages under such principles!
I've seen Susie fans say that her JP description is nicer than her EN one and proof she's changed for the better which. Okay mechanizing planets and people is arguably worse cause that's larger scale, but the JP version literally says she is killing people she decides are degenerates lol. And what she considers savages are the people of Popstar by the way, she isn't actually helping anybody. Even if she was killing obviously bad people, "exterminating the savages" is still a really blatantly evil way of wording things. That kind of language is used by colonizers when they take continents, or in the Haltmann's case, planets. Big red flags here, is the American education system that bad???
In order to justify killing an entire population to take their land, the colonizers convince themselves and others that "well the inhabitants are just savages anyways they wouldn't understand." This is what she means by "A harmonious family, and a happy life, are offered with the power of science… I’ll exterminate the savages under such principles!" Killing "savages" in the name of science is straight up some eugenicist shit I'm not kidding. And capitalism is associated with advancement of technology which means getting rid of what is outdated by capitalists standards. Such as a planet and its people lacking in hi-tech department for example. She isn't helping people y'all this is still the same capitalist from the previous game, just look at her dialogue in the second screenshot: "You natives need to be taught manners!"
This still is a bad localization, but unlike other parts of KSA I at least understand what the mindset was. "Okay she wants to exterminate the savages.... and those savages are the people in the way of her colonizing planets..... oh so she's colonizing planets." That's still a different meaning from the og text, but even the person that were given what seems like 30 seconds to translate this at least understood the wider implication.
All that said, ultimately this dialogue is just set up for a punchline. Consistent in her writing is her complete and utter lack of empathy and juxtaposing her cherry attitude with her bad behavior. In the first dialogue blurb I reference she acts as if her turning MK into her slave was her doing him a favor and she thinks this completely unironically; she is crazy and that's the joke. Bad people never think they are the villains; Susie thought she helping people when really she's killing innocents and that's the joke. This game series is inherently silly I don't know how people can miss this.
Then there is the menu animation thing where MK runs away in fear and Susie chases him. These are even more canonically dubious but it's the one example of the games referencing the two together after Planet Robobot. If they were supposed to both be on good terms you'd think the one time they can comment on their relationship status that then they'd be all buddy-buddy. But that isn't what they went with, the animation is there to say that MK (and even DMK) is afraid of Susie.
I'd like to point out that while it's easy to completely dismiss this as a "cute reference", there was still thought put into this. The people that created this had to think about what makes the most sense for these characters based on what information we already know. They didn't come to that conclusion based on nothing.
Alright the big question; does MK forgive Susie at the end of Robobot? Or ever? The end of the game has MK fly his ship near Star Dream where Kirby and Susie happen to be, nods to Kirby, Kirby nods back, and then they fly away leaving Susie behind. Some people have took this as MK forgiving Susie because. Uh. He doesn't acknowledge her? What is that the mindset here, that because he doesn't got out of his way to say "Susie you suck" that means they are on good terms? No, what's happening is there is a giant computer about to take over the galaxy, and MK doesn't acknowledge Susie because the evil murder robot is more important at the moment.
A problem with the series recently is that its had pretty ambitious story telling with little time to tell it. We probably won't figure out if Taranza moves on from Sectonia's death because *when* could they tell that story? TDX2? lol that was scrapped. Taranza certainly isn't popular enough to show up in a game collection to elaborate on his game's ending. We don't know if MK forgave Susie or held a grudge because the game doesn't have time to explore that unless it wants to ruin the pacing of the gameplay. The nature of the series is that after every game Dreamland basically resets, this is so that you can hop into any entry without needing context from previous titles to enjoy the current one. At most there will be references for older fans to gawk at, but the characters themselves live like they are in an episodic tv show. Next week all will back to normal to make a clean canvas for the next game. We can't have a game that follows up on the after effects on mechanization because we can't expect everyone to have played Planet Robobot. Plus the games barely have any time to properly establish the new story and characters, you think it has time to recap previous titles? We won't find out what the likes of Bonkers and Whispey think about the whole being turned into a robot thing because of this.
But the people that worked on Star Allies had the opportunity to at least comment on the effects it had on MK, even if it was in the form of a simple easy-to-miss animation. They had to think to themselves what do we know about these characters and in this one opportunity we can comment on what their current status is, how would they react. Thought was put into this.
Well, MK just isn't a very open guy for one thing. Like, him being quiet and mysterious is his whole gimmick. Even if the games were more story heavy, MK isn't the type to waltz into a room and announce how he's feeling. He's also normally in a high position of power; be it leading the Halberd or defeating the likes of Galacta Knight. He fights back the possession during Epic Yarn, and afterwards infamously says "Kirby, forgive me! I blame the yarn!" He is very clearly embarrassed by the ordeal lol. By KATFL he's so sick of being possessed that he just escapes Fecto's grasp through sheer will. In PR he's shown to be very stiff and lifeless in his Mecha Knight animations, devoid of any personality. We don't see him struggle like in Epic Yarn, but the fact that the mechanization has that strong of a hold on him that he can't fight it back is much scarier than the yarn thing. He would be at least a little shook from having that power suddenly taken from him, and he has been established to not like being mind controlled. And we know the guy is stubborn, he will not admit he's losing a fight and stick to the very end. Even if Susie tried to get on better terms with him, he'd hold a grudge for having bested him. In KF2 he still holds a grudge against freaking Kirby for always beating him for Pete's sake. This isn't proof the guy is traumatized or whatever that title goes to Zan, but he is said to have an ego streak in Star Allies, and the whole turned into a cyborg against your will thing would bruise your ego. So yeah, I think it makes complete sense that MK would try to avoid Susie. Go figure the people that work on these characters for their job understand them inside and out.
Now even ignoring all of this, I see people say well it's so open to interpretation what happens that I just hc Susie as getting better and MK forgiving her anyways.
Okay, prove it. Where's this story you have where this happens. Where is this content. I have not seen a single metasusie fan commit to this slow burn growing for the better and learning to forgive narrative, they just hop right into the romance. I have seen stories where Susie tries to better herself, sometimes MK forgives her and sometimes he doesn't, and none of those were done to justify shipping the two. They were stories that existed to explore the character (hell the only one with shipping had FranSoos) While I have argued here that Susie has never shown the willingness to change at all, at least the people that disagree have made some impressive art expressing why they think otherwise. The fact that I haven't seen metasusie fans actually do that and instead charge straight first into generic married couple shit tells me they don't actually care about the narrative where they grow as people and just say that's what they hc as a justification for the ship. You aren't exploring these characters you just want fluffy shit, and if that's all you care about just say that.
"Why can't you just let people have fun."
fffffffffffffff The main reason why I made this thing despite keeping quiet on other shit in this fandom I don't like, is because this pairing pushes sexist ideas rather the shippers intended this or not (and the vast majority of the time they don't). Making the two a happy-go-lucky couple downplays the abuse MK endured, and by extension rips Susie of her agency.
I am not saying MK suffered the equivalent of real world domestic abuse, he is literally a blueberry man that was made into a cool transformer when he didn't want that. But, there is more evidence to support that MK didn't like being robotized than there is saying he was okay with it. If the game explicitly supported the idea that he is fine and even forgives her, that would be a different story. But as established he's either indifferent at best or scared of her at worst. What is happening is that the media says that he suffered a bad thing, and people react to it by showing him fine and dandy despite that. Let's play a game. It's called "a man kidnaps a woman and forces her to do everything he says rather she wants to or not; is this scenario fucked up". If you answered yes then congrats you won the game, if you answered no, welp. I don't what to do with you man. It's incredibly telling when I see people react viscerally to others that headcanon MK's experience as having went worse. The same people I see say "just let people have fun it's just hc" in regards to their fluffy owo metasusie ship freak the fuck out whenever they see an angsty MK was hurt by Susie hc and try to argue how wrong it is. If your headcanon that MK is okay with the robot thing is valid, then what makes the angstier hc's any less valid? What is wrong with people that sympathize with MK being stripped of his anatomy and forced to work for someone else and exploring that story? Taking the theming of dehumanization and further exploring it? I thought you just wanted to let people have fun! Gonna go out on a limb here and say some people don't like the idea that men can't take more abuse than women; that they have a double standard and seeing that take makes them reevaluate their minset. And also that headcanon conflicts with the idea that he can date Susie. Mostly the later, but smth smth no one is free from biases and those can show up anywhere even in depictions of anthropomorphic spheres.
Back to Susanna, a problem with the games with that she suffers little repercussions for her actions. She can't really grow as a character if she doesn't find out what she did was wrong. But if they wanted to just play the villain thing straight it's still kinda boring to see she barely struggles to get what she wants, wow she sure is quick to brush off losing Star Dream so quickly after all her hard work. This is reflected in fan work as well, people don't seem all that interested in discussing why what she did was bad unless it's among the lines of "she is evil incarnate and deserves to die". Very productive guys. Because the games never properly punish her for her bad deeds, and the fans jump straight into the romance shit without writing that character arc where she grows as a person that the games lack. And the end result is Susie is never punished for her actions, rather she's rewarded with the same man she dehumanized. No amount of "well I hc this" will change that, all you ever draw is shippy stuff, never the character growth, and what people remember is the visuals not your written hc's. All people will see is fanart of a villain who never learns and is even rewarded for her bad behavior. MK's tribulations are ignored for the sake of her. Again, if the games actually had her pay for her mistakes then everyone's understanding of the character would be that of someone that actually understands what is and isn't wrong, then the pairing would be less icky. But that isn't the case, and the fandom isn't going to change that perspective anytime soon because it doesn't have the influence the official media nor does it care all that much about that narrative to begin with.
I've seen some defenders of the ship say that it only gets so much hate because people are weird about Susie. Now the people that say this will lump together actual haters with people who have legitimate criticisms, but yes as referenced above people are very weird about Susie. Like some people just despise this fictional woman, and she's clearly a bad person but she's a villain that's the point? Calm down. I know it might seem like *I* hate Susie because I've written 1000 words detailing why she's an awful person, but actually that's why I love her. All that dialogue I used to argue why she's awful? That shit is funny as hell! I'm sorry the hero of the story is boring; I'd much rather watch a villain giggle in glee, wine in hand from the comfort of their spooky castle as they watch the city burn underneath them. Susie would post a picture of her posing next to her latest victim with the description "feeling cute might delete later". She's that meme posing in a pool with someone drowning in the back. I don't think she's particularly well written, her backstory doesn't seem to have any affect on her and the game itself can't decide rather she's a straight up villain or morally ambiguous, but damn she's still so much fun. What she lacks in clear morals, she more than makes up for with plenty of personality! And seeing a horrible character suffer no repercussions for their bad actions and instead are congratulated with given a hot bf is obnoxious. But making a fun character boring? One of the worst sins you could commit. No I'm joking, but it is also super fucking telling that a good chuck of metasusie shippers are really just MK fanboys that only ever bring up Susie in relation to MK. And they ignore her war crimes to make her a sexy lamp that flirts with him and seemingly has no other ambitions. Like hating women is one thing, but women are people and people can be awful therefore women can be awful and let women be a bad bitch like Maleficent dammit. What I mean to say is; Susie isn't like some feminist icon, for one of like barely 10 plot important female characters she plays into a lot of basic stereotypes and the devs seem hesitant to actually punish her for her actions or have her grow to the extent of her male counterparts. But she's still an incredibly active character that can outsmart anybody (exception being the evil supercomputer which is fair) and takes matters into her own hands. In order to make Susie shippable you have to make her nicer, but this comes in the form of removing her smarts and her go getter attitude so that she becomes the ideal wife, and not only does she no longer resemble Susie, that's incredibly demeaning.
(Edit: I forgot to mention a lot of people will argue that depicting a female character as villainous to be an inherently bad thing. While it is true that there are some creators that hate women so much that every woman they write is some sort of evil temptress or whatever, this obviously doesn't mean that every fictional bad lady ever is inherently sexist for being evil. No not every depiction of Susie being mean is a result of someone that hates her, you can't deny that she's mean in canon at least at *sometimes*. Let women be bad bitches.)
TL:DR, The ship is bad. Planet Robobot makes a stance on the negative effects of capitalism, that because capitalism favors those at top it dehumanizes those below them. Meta Knight is a victim of this, and by saying it wasn't a problem you ignore the game's message for a ship. Susie isn't a particularly well written character, perhaps she was intended to be more sympathetic but the series doesn't do enough to show her trying to change for the better. The fans don't make up for this and treat her even weirder. If it was just those issues then it would just be a lame pairing, but the pair also emphasizes how the abuse men receive is undermined and how little people care about Susie being her own person. Also by posting this I lost a lot of followers lol
