Treat You Better III
Laia Codina x Reader
Summary: You visit Spain
Tumblr media
The language barrier posed a bit of a problem but you could get past that.
The food posed a bit of a problem but you could get past that too.
What you couldn't get past was the topless sunbathing.
You weren't prudish by any means. But you were Irish and the beaches you usually went to in Ireland were full of pebbles. You didn't sunbathe in Ireland. You just hoped that you didn't get taken out by a wave.
Spanish beaches were different though. They were sandy and the sea was calm and all of Laia's friends were stripping off their bikini tops and lying out in the sun.
Your eyebrows shot up to your hairline at how easily everyone did it. You hadn't experienced much cultural issues moving from Ireland to England but now you were getting the experience that Laia did.
Moving from Spain to England was a big thing, full of cultural differences that she had to adapt too. Now you're doing the same.
You didn't know the rules surrounding this so you just decided to avert your eyes and pretend that it wasn't happening.
You sat under an umbrella and contemplated whether it was rude to just duck into a shop and stay there until everyone was ready to go.
"You aren't sunbathing?"
"I'm Irish, luv," You say," I don't tan well. I burn."
"Katie tans."
"Yeah, she got lucky. I didn't."
Laia wiggles under the umbrella with you. She's shirtless just like her friends but you don't feel awkward looking at her. You've seen her naked countless times. Seeing her topless seems a little tame in comparison.
Seeing her friends and other world class footballers shirtless was a little different.
"You don't tan at all?" She pouts at you," I could have sworn you did in Australia."
"You were watching me back then?" You laugh," You little stalker."
Her cheeks turn pink. "I thought you were very pretty. It is a shame you won't try to tan here."
"I'll burn," You insist," And we'll go back to London and Katie will tease me. I'm not attempting it."
"But you tan! I know you do! I've seen it!"
"It's too much effort," You say nonchalantly," I'm happy here. I might go and buy an ice cream. I'm fine, luv."
She looks at you suspiciously, her pout getting bigger and bigger the more you attempt to get away.
"Leave her alone, Codi!" You hear someone yell, Mariona you think.
"I'm just wearing her down!" Laia yells back with a teasing smile," Don't ruin this for me!"
"Ruin this for you?" You echo," I see how it is. You want to see me topless."
She tries to deny it but her stuttered words betray her true attention.
"You're cute, luv, but no, I'm not stripping in front of your friends."
"Why not? You're not insecure are you?" Her words come out in a stream, interspersed with random kisses pressed to your face. "Because you're so beautiful and you're stunning and I think you're so much prettier than all of my friends and you shouldn't feel insecure about something like this."
"Laia-"
"Because you have nothing to feel insecure about. And I love you and-"
"Laia-"
"You should never feel bad about your body and-"
"Laia! Luv, shut up. I'm not insecure. I know I have a good body but...These are your friends and they're topless."
Laia frowns. "I don't understand."
You laugh. "It'd be like if we went to the beach with Katie and Caitlin and they whipped their tops off. You would feel a little awkward, wouldn't you?"
You can see Laia think it over for a moment. She turns it over in her mind. You can see the moment she imagines Katie topless because her eyes suddenly squeeze shut.
"I see," She admits," But you promise you do not feel insecure?"
"I promise," You say, laying a kiss on her lips," Just feeling a little awkward. I'm sure after a few more trips I'll feel more comfortable."
She beams. "You want to come back?"
You roll your eyes. "Yes, Laia. This is your home. These are your friends. Of course, I want to come back."
She attacks you with kisses, pinning you against your beach towel.
"Codi!" One of her friends call," Stop kissing your girlfriend! I want to go paddle boarding!"
"Go, luv," You laugh, pushing her away," We have lots of time later."

summary; once again, teasing Cody works wonders.
Even from the other side of the room, you could feel those blue eyes on you, staring so hard you were sure you'd find a burn mark on your cheek when you looked in a mirror. You leaned your elbow on the bar, twirling a piece of hair around your finger as you half listened to Damian; giggling and playfully slapping his arm or chest at the right times. You could barely pay attention to Damian. All you could think about was Cody and how he was reacting to the very obvious flirting happening. You could picture his face clearly in your mind; the way his usually soft gaze would be hardened watching the scene play out, the way he'd be clenching his jaw or biting the inside of his cheek; waiting for the moment he could drag you away without causing suspicion.
The moment came sooner than anticipated when Dom dragged Damian away to rejoin the rest of The Judgement Day in the booth they'd occupied all night. You looked around the room, searching for Cody, but when you couldn't find him, you opted to join Sami and Jey, who were waving at you wildly. Before you could, someone came up behind you, and their hand gripped your bicep tightly.
"I know what you're doing," Cody said, his voice low in your ear.
You craned your neck so you could smile up at Cody. "What? I was just having a very lovely conversation with Damian." You said innocently.
Cody spun you around and glared down at you, his eyes looking brighter under the dim lights. "It won't work." He told you, and you tilted your head, pouting slightly.
"I don't know what you're talking about." You replied, batting your eyelashes, making Cody roll his neck. "You wanna dance?" You quickly asked before he could say anything else.
He glanced at the mass of people dancing and pulled a face. "We really shouldn't..."
"Come on, I was dancing with Jey earlier. It doesn't -"
"You were dancing with Jey?" He asked, his nostrils flaring as he narrowed his eyes. "Fine, let's dance." He conceded, unable to hide his jealousy as he pulled you to the dancefloor as you giggled.
You took advantage of the number of people on the dancefloor and pressed your body up against Cody while snaking your arms around his neck. His hands rested on your waist, and he raised his eyebrow, to which you shrugged, a smile dancing on your lips. "Sorry." You mouthed, and he shook his head, unable to hide the smile. "You're terrible." He replied, making you grin.
"Oh, you know you love it." You said, massaging the back of his neck with your fingertips, just like you did when you were curled up in bed together. Being this close to him was driving you wild, and if you couldn't touch him the way you truly wanted to, you'd revel in driving him just as wild.
You pushed your pussy into Cody's bulge as you danced, and his grip on your hips tightened. "Don't tease me," He warned, his voice almost a growl. "I'm not sure I'll be able to control myself."
You lifted yourself onto your toes and whispered in Codys' ear, your breasts pushing against his chest. "Who's asking you to control yourself? You could just let go."
Your breath on his neck and your scent in his nostrils was intoxicating. It sent a shiver down his spine, and he closed his eyes as he inhaled through his nose; a futile attempt to control the effect you were having on him. His hands made the journey from your hips to your ass and you glanced around the room, thankful that nobody was paying any attention to the two of you. Considering neither of you was ready for people to know about the two of you, you were playing a very dangerous game. Teasing each other and flirting around other people, stealing kisses and secret moments in crowded rooms, sneaking into each other's hotel rooms or onto Cody's bus; it was all so thrilling, and it was a miracle nobody had caught onto the two of you.
"Baby, you gotta stop." He groaned, squeezing your ass. "You're killing me."
Your eyebrow arched upwards, followed by a smirk. "You want me to stop?" You questioned, slipping your hand in between your bodies, sliding your hand down his shirt until you stopped at his belt buckle. "Just say the word, and I'll do whatever you want."
Cody dropped his head onto your shoulder, a low, almost animalistic sound emitting from his throat. He rutted against you, nipping at your neck as he did, the action making your pussy throb as you caught a moan in your throat. Before you could move your hand lower, Cody promptly grabbed your wrist.
"How about we continue this somewhere more private?" Cody said into your ear. He'd posed it as a question, but it wasn't intended as one— which was apparent when he didn't wait for your answer and practically dragged you out of the main party room and through the hotel lobby.
With his hand on the small of your back, he pushed you through the doors, the cold night air pinching your naked arms. Cody guided you around the corner, and before you knew it, you were up against the wall, his lips attaching to yours, forcing his tongue into your mouth. You reciprocated the kiss, tongues wrapping around each other; both moaning in harmony as he fondled your breasts over your dress. You unbuckled the belt and popped the button open, and when he bit down on your lip, you grinned. You tried to slip your hand into his boxers, ready to feel his cock in your hand, but Cody pulled away, breathless.
"Not here." He said, lacing his fingers around yours. You walked hand in hand across the parking lot, towards where trees lined the edge of the lot. The closer you got, the more you noticed the large outline of Codys' bus, hidden in the shadows of the trees, tucked away from the moonlight.
"You brought your bus here?" You laughed. "You couldn't use the car?"
Cody unlocked the door and ushered you up the steps. "It's a good thing I didn't, isn't it? I knew you'd try something." He teased, slapping your ass lightly. You turned to face him.
"I knew it'd work." You said, reciprocating the soft smile he sent your way as the lock clicked. He took a few steps towards you, his eyes boring into your soul. They were mesmerising, like two oceans you were certain to drown in, and you wouldn't mind a single bit if you did.
"Of course, it worked," Cody said softly. "It'll always work."
You couldn't wait any longer. You pulled Cody towards you by his tie, your lips smashing together forcefully, his fingers tangled in your hair as he tugged slightly, deepening the kiss. He was like a drug you were addicted to, one that you'd never want to give up.
Cody spun you around and slowly unzipped your dress, peppering your naked back with kisses. The black, velvet number fell to the floor, and you turned to face him, standing in just your heels and black panties. He took a step back and carefully studied you like he was looking at his favourite work of art. He grinned and licked his lips as he arched his eyebrow.
"Get on the bed." He ordered. You stepped backwards until your legs hit the edge of the small bed, and you lowered yourself down, the mattress dipping under your weight. Cody pulled at his tie until it loosened and unbuttoned his shirt, smirking at you as he did.
He stood in front of you, his trousers still open from the make-out session outside, and you maintained eye contact as you pushed them and his boxers down his thighs, freeing his cock from its restraints. Cody's tongue poked out of between his teeth as he smirked, his eyes dark as he flicked his thumb across your bottom lip before he lined his cock up against your mouth.
You stuck your tongue out just enough for it to brush the tip, the simple action making Cody buck his hips. You opened your mouth wider, taking as much of Cody's cock as you could. His hand bundled your hair into a ponytail and as you closed your mouth around him, a groan left his lips as he pulled on your hair, throwing his head back. You dragged your tongue up the underside of his cock, the sensation making it twitch in your mouth. You flicked the tip before curling your tongue around it,and you grasped the base of him, taking a moment to look up at him while you pleasured him.
Cody's eyes were glazed over, profanities spilling from him while he guided your head and fucked your mouth. You loved the noises he made, loved the look on his face whenever you were together. He was usually so calm and collected, so to be the one who made him lose control, to fall apart because of you, it made you feel incredibly powerful and confident; something you didn't have much experience with until you met Cody.
He found himself in a rhythm— one that you wanted to disrupt and so you rolled his balls in your hands, massaging them gently as you took the rest of his cock, choking slightly as the tip hit the back of your throat. The noise Cody made was sinful, and you weren't sure you could be any more turned on until you looked up at him through teary eyes. The sweat was beading around his hairline, his teeth almost biting through his lip as he grunted and thrust into your face.
You wrapped your tongue around his cock and he forcefully pushed your head into him before he couldn't take anymore. He tugged you off by your hair, a Pop! echoing out around the bus. You watched him lean towards you and you crawled up the bed slightly, until Cody was leering over you, his eyes full of lust. He wiped your wet cheeks with his thumbs and kissed you; so much passion in the soft and tender embrace. The longer the kiss went on, the more fierce it became, and your back hit the soft sheets, bringing Cody down with you. His mouth followed a path, planting little butterfly kisses down your jawline, your neck, down to your cleavage  — where he latched onto your breast, sucking and biting as your hands ran down his shoulders, fingertips scratching his back. His mouth then continued its journey down your sternum to your stomach while his hand caressed your breast and rolled your nipple with his fingers.
Cody hooked his thumbs under your underwear line and ripped them clean from your body. He threw them over his shoulder and held your hips down with one arm, his other hand snaking back up to your throat. He flattened his tongue against your slit and slowly dragged it up your cunt, beginning his feast.
Your hands grabbed the back of his head, and you attempted to buck your hips, but his arm wouldn't let you. "Ohhhh, Cody," you whimpered through little gasps, "feels so fucking good!"
You felt him smile against your thigh as he kissed along the insides before burying his face back into you. "You're such a good girl." He said. "You're my good girl." He said, before flicking your clit with the tip of his tongue. Your hips bucked again, and his grip on your throat tightened as did the grip on your hips. Cody was great at everything he did, he had that Midas touch, but he was incredible at making you feel amazing.
You squeaked as he pushed his tongue into your entrance, releasing your throat so he could caress your clit with his thumb as he fucked you with his tongue. You writhed underneath him as much as he'd allow, pushing his head deeper into your cunt, gripping your thighs against his head, unintelligible sounds leaving your throat as your toes curled.
"Co-Cody, please! I'm gonna cum!" You gasped. He chuckled, picking up the pace and your moans got louder. You were certain that everyone in the hotel would be able to hear you, and that the bus would no longer be hidden from everyone— but you didn't care one bit.
You came undone in seconds, and Cody released your hips from his grasp so you could ride his face, his name spilling out of your mouth. His kept working as you rode the wave of your orgasm and when he came up for air, you giggled breathlessly.
Cody climbed up your body like a lion hunting its prey. He needed to be inside you, to feel your walls clench tight around him as he fucked you hard. He rubbed his cock against your slit, sliding it between your lips, without penetrating. You wrapped your legs around him, attempting to pull him closer to you, trying to force him to give you what you craved. He laughed, his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth and rubbed your entrance with the tip of his cock.
"Cody, please -" You whined, your heels digging into his ass cheeks.
"Use your words, baby."
"Cody- I want your-" His tip teased your cunt again and you groaned, your eyes rolling to the back of your head. "Cody, please fu-fuck m- ohhh ffuck!"
He slammed into you, guttural groans passing through his lips at the euphoric sensation. He would never tire of any of this— of being inside you, making you scream his name and lose control at the slightest touch. He loved feeling your body underneath him or on top of him. Even the smallest of gestures; the slightest touch of your pinky fingers secretly interlocking around people and his favourite— when you placed your palm on his cheek before a match, a little good luck ritual you'd implemented long ago. He would never get enough of the sparks that coursed through his veins when you touched.
His pace quickened when your walls clenched around him. Your moans echoed around the room, in harmony once again, and as another orgasm reached its peak, your arms reached around Cody's neck and pulled toward you, pressing your lips together. The kiss was messy and toothy, and he interlaced your fingers together, sending his free hand between your bodies, his finger circling your clit. You quickly became unglued and your head thrashed against the bed, screaming Cody's name, just the way he liked; as Cody reached his own orgasm, his mouth found your neck, biting down hard before he lapped at the skin with his tongue.
He dropped his body onto you, and you wrapped your arms around his back, enjoying the weight of him on top of you. He nuzzled his head into your neck, pulling the sheets over the both of you, and you closed your eyes, feeling content. With his chest on yours, your heartbeats combined, like your two hearts were one. There were so many reasons for you to go public with your relationship, to let people in on your secret. You wanted to scream from the rooftops about how lucky you were to be the one Cody Rhodes wanted to be with. But you also wanted to stay in your bubble, in your own world where it was just the two of you, nobody else mattered, or even existed.
Cody lifted his head off your chest and leaned onto his elbow, tilting his head as he grinned at you. "You okay?" He asked and you turned to face him, reaching your hand up and placing your palm on his cheek, smiling at the beautiful man with the hearts in his eyes that were for you, and only you.
"I'm starving." You whispered, grinning at him. He rolled onto his back, reaching for a phone that was on the bedside cabinet. He settled back onto the bed, and you found your usual space on his chest. "What do you fancy?"
"Apart from you?" You asked, tracing circles around his chest. Cody laughed loudly, and you grinned wider. "Chinese."
"Whatever you want, you shall receive." Cody replied, making you blush. "Yeah?" You asked, and he nodded, planting his lips on your forehead softly.
"Of course. Always."

I've been thinking about it for quite some time (and it's a good thing my blog is so smol because a lotta people ain't going to like this) but we need to be honest for two seconds. Fox wouldn't be hated for killing Fives.
It's not the simple usual take on how Fox didn't fired right away and tried to calm Fives down first, how he was just doing his job. This is true but it goes deeper even.
The clones were taught how to deal with traitors.
We saw it with Rex when he met Cut Lawquane. He was faced with a deserter and his first reaction wasn't one of peaceful understanding at all, quite the contrary. Of course he let him go and live with his family in the end. (Interesting to note that there were no officer present too) But what's interesting is not the conclusion he made, but his instinctual, learned behavior : deserters = traitors = bad.
And during the Umbara arc, we saw that the clones also learned how to form a firing squad. They knew how to do that. Yes, in the end, again, they ended up letting their siblings live but there also was the aspect that they already doubt Krell's orders AND that this situation was clearly, stupidly unfair and wrong. And they didn't like nor trust the general himself already. So it was an easy order to go against. But then again what is interesting is that they knew how to do that.
The idea of the Vode not knowing or even being able to conceive shooting a brother, even less killing one, is very sweet but sadly not true. They are soldiers first, born and trained. They would not look kindly to traitors and deserters. They would also know how to court martial the formers, even (or maybe especially) if it's other clones.
All of this to say that Fox killing Fives after he tried to kill the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic ? The highest ranking person in the entire Republic ? And he was also armed, dangerous and out of control AND didn't listen to attempts at calming him. In all of those conditions, very little people would bat an eye to Fox taking those actions.
The only people that would hate Fox are the people close to Fives -Rex and Torrent, Cody and some of the 212th too maybe, by proxy, and Anakin. The Jedi would frown at this, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka maybe more than the rest and would be more affected, because they were close to Fives too.
But the rest of the GAR ? Well of course some won't see it with a kind eye because there's always people to tell you they would have done better, but globally they wouldn't mind so much. Because what Fox did was something they had been, in fact, trained for.
And even if there was a GAR/Guard divide, it wouldn't be this event that make everything goes from bad to worse. It might be one more critic on Fox, it might not be taken kindly. But in the end it would be more because it's Fox and they don't-like-Fox, more than the killing a brother part.
Okay this is longer than I thought it would be 😅 but my point still is : the Vode are soldiers first and foremost. They don't act under the same values and morals as us at all. They were trained to kill enemies of the Republic. If those enemies were among the Republic didn't change a thing. If those enemies were fellow clones didn't change a thing, they were trained to kill them too. So Fox only doing his job in that instant also means that a lot of other Clone Commanders would have done the very same as him. Maybe not all of them, sure (it can depend from their generals) (which Fox don't have from what we know). But maybe some of them wouldn't even have tried to resonate with Fives at all.
The point is : the GAR wouldn't have hate Fox for this. If they hated him, killing Fives wasn't the reason, nor even the starting point most likely.

dance with me by sarah kang ft. cody dear
'cause boy when i'm alone with you you make me wanna sway, wanna move
dance with me 나랑 춤출래? i don't care about where or when pick a song that never ends
Tumblr media
You and Soonyoung have been stuck in some weird, uncharted territory for months now.
He’s your friend, but he’s also so much more than that. You know it, and you’re pretty sure he knows it, too.
You’d do anything for him, really. So when he asks you to meet him at the studio before you head home so that he can show you something new he’s working on, you don’t hesitate. Even though it’s midnight, and you’re exhausted from hours spent studying in the library – because Soonyoung is calling.
You can hear music as you approach the practice room, recognizing it as the song for the dance he’s been rehearsing for his final exam, so you’re surprised when you don’t see him through the windows at all. You turn the handle on the door to the room tentatively, opening it just enough to peek inside. And you smile.
Soonyoung is lying flat on his back near the wall closest to you, his chest heaving as he stares up at the ceiling. You watch as he marks the movements in small gestures from his spot on the floor, bobbing his head to the beat, as if he’s taking only half a break. You’ve been friends for quite some time now, and you know him well enough to know that his mind won’t settle until he’s perfected what he’s practicing. He’ll rest his body if he has to, if it makes him, but even then, you know he’s always going over choreo in his head. Like right now.
You wait until the song is finished, until there’s quiet, and then you speak. “I was invited here to see some dancing, but it looks like I’m in the wrong place.”
Soonyoung’s head falls back onto the floor as he looks over, a grin spreading across his lips when he meets your eyes. He’s looking at you upside down, and it makes you laugh. Then you’re suddenly not laughing anymore, because within seconds he’s pushed to his feet and is bounding over to wrap you in a warm, sweaty hug. Now, your heart is racing.
“Hi!” He beams, moving back to squeeze you by the biceps.
“Hey, Soonyoung,” you manage.
“I was just taking a break,” he explains, and you nod. “Don’t worry, that’s the first one I’ve taken all evening–”
You narrow your eyes at him. “I wasn’t worried before, but now I am, if you're telling me that’s the only break you’ve taken from dancing in the last four hours.”
He just laughs, letting go of you, and you roll your eyes. “Go sit over there, I’ll run it again. I don’t need you to help with much… There’s just this one part in the chorus where it feels a little stiff. Just tell me if anything feels,” he gestures into the air vaguely, “off.”
You nod, mock saluting him as you take your place on one of the chairs scattered along the wall on the other side of the room.
You watch as he sets up the song again, your cheeks warming when he begins shrugging off his hoodie. He’s turned away, his back and shoulders now on full display for you in the tank he’s wearing, and you can’t help but stare. You abruptly look down at your feet when he turns back towards you, the first beats of the song beginning to play. You look at him again as he zones in, squaring his shoulders and getting into position as he watches himself in the mirror.
You don’t have a single rhythmic bone in your body. Watching anyone dance is mind blowing to you, but especially Soonyoung. He’s incredible. Why he wants your advice on his dancing is beyond you, but he always insists, and you’ve never been good at denying him anything.
And why would you even want to deny this? This — a front row seat to one of the most beautiful works of art you’ve ever seen. Soonyoung takes your breath away all the time, but especially like this.
You’re so caught up in his movements that you don’t even recognize when the chorus hits, when it gets to the part you’re supposed to pay extra attention to. You’re in a trance, only snapping out of it when he makes one final turn, and the song ends. You blink, watching as Soonyoung returns to himself, the performer in him calming with every breath he takes. He lets his shoulders drop, lets his body relax, and then he lets out a loud sigh of relief. He crosses the room and joins you, falling into the chair next to yours, and drops his head onto your shoulder.
You remind yourself to breathe.
“So?” He’s still breathless. You suddenly remember why you’re there, why he asked you to come and what he asked you to do, and you flush when you realize that you were too dazed to really notice if anything was amiss.
“This is your best one yet,” you tell him honestly. Which is the truth, because despite your ogling, you would have noticed if anything was glaringly wrong.
“Really?”
You nod. “You’re amazing, Soonyoung.”
The words come out much softer than you intended, much more honest, and you can only hope he doesn’t read into any of it. He doesn’t say anything for a while, and you’re running out of reasons not to panic when he says, “Dance with me?”
Your eyes widen as he lifts his head and turns to you with a smile.
“What?”
He lifts his head from your shoulder and stands up, holding out a hand for you to take. “Come on,” he grins, wiggling his outstretched fingers when you don't move. “I’ll teach you some of the easier moves.”
You let him pull you up, even as you continue to protest. “Soonyoung, you know—“
“Come on,” he insists, “you can do it!”
You groan. “I really can’t, you know this! I can’t dance, Soonyoung, I—”
“You can’t dance well,” he corrects, and you level him with a glare. He just grins wider as he adds, “but I know you like to! I’ve seen you on our nights out.”
You willfully ignore how his last comment makes you feel, trying desperately not to flush crimson red at his observation. At the fact that he’s noticed these things. “Yeah, so you already know I look like an idiot.”
“You look,” Soonyoung counters, “like you’re having a lot of fun. I’ve seen the way you smile when you’re dancing with your friends.”
You try once more. “No one is judging me there.”
“No one is judging you here, either.”
You open your mouth but nothing comes out, because you can’t argue with that. You know he would never judge you – for anything. You huff, narrowing your brows as you give him a mock glare, but your shoulders fall in defeat. Soonyoung giggles – your favourite sound – and leads you into the middle of the room.
He doesn’t waste any time as he begins to guide you through what he claims is one of the easier steps to master, and to your surprise, you actually kind of get the hang of it. He’s a good teacher, you note, because of course he is, and you feel a bit less anxious with every “good job!” and cheer he sends your way.
You continue to practice the same small sequence for a bit. When Soonyoung places both arms on your shoulders and stares you directly in the eyes, you stop breathing for a second.
“Okay,” he says, “this is the last move of this part, but it’s a bit hard.” He draws his lip between his teeth, and you watch it happen, because what else are you supposed to do? You think he notices, because his mouth quirks up at the side, but he doesn’t say anything except for, “You up for it?”
You don’t think you say yes, but he begins to teach you, anyway. And he’s right – this last move is hard. He continues to encourage you, and you continue to try and try and try, and –
You let out an ungodly squeal when you finally land in the right spot, pumping a fist into the air. “Yes! I nailed that!”
You try one more time, two more times, and it’s not perfect — but you do it.
You don’t even notice the way Soonyoung is looking at you until after you do the move for the third time. When you do, your heart leaps into your throat. He’s got his arms crossed as he smiles over at you, soft, and you think there’s a pink flush on his cheeks that wasn’t there before. You try and tell yourself it’s from the dancing, even though you know it’s you that’s been exerting yourself for the last half hour, not him. He looks so fond, and happy, and there’s something else you can’t quite put a finger on. All you know is that it’s making your entire body warm.
“What?” You ask as steadily as you can manage.
He just shakes his head. Then he abruptly looks down as if shaking himself out of a stupor, a hand lifting to scratch at the back of his neck, and you’re frozen in place. What was that all about?
“High five,” he offers, cutting of your train of thought, and it takes you a second to register what he’s asking for.
And when your hand lifts to meet his, he doesn’t let go.
It all happens at once. His fingers intertwine with yours, his other hand finds your waist, and suddenly he’s so close to you that you forget how to think. You know there’s no mistaking the shakiness in the exhale that leaves you.
“Is this part of the choreo?” You finally manage, voice barely a whisper, and Soonyoung lets out a soft breath.
“No,” he admits, his voice low.
His hand slides around to your lower back, testing the waters further. His other hand falls from yours, his eyes searching for any sign of discomfort before he pulls you in even closer, like he can’t stop himself.
“What about this?” Your voice is so, so quiet.
“No.”
His voice is soft in the emptiness of the practice room around you. Your bodies are flush now, chest to chest, and you think that if he wasn’t holding you up, your knees would buckle. His eyes still haven’t left yours, waiting, though you don’t know for what. His gaze only breaks from yours to wander across your face; your eyes, your nose, your mouth. You can’t help the soft exhale that leaves you when his eyes find your lips, and you know he notices because you can feel his fingers tighten their grip on the back of your shirt.
Moments pass like that, and when you still don’t move away, Soonyoung lets out a soft breath of air that you didn’t realize he’d been holding. His next movements are slow and calculated, leaning forward to rest his forehead against yours, his eyes falling shut. Your hand lifts to his chest, and you’re surprised when you feel just how fast his heart is beating.
“Soonyoung?” You question softly after a moment, impressed that your voice even makes it out at all. He responds with an almost imperceptible shake of his head, his eyes still closed.
“I just… Just give me a second,” he murmurs, and your heart is racing so fast you’re sure he can hear it in the quiet of the practice room.
“Okay.”
You have no idea what’s going on. All you know is that you trust Soonyoung with your life, and if he needs a minute — you’ll give him ten. You think that maybe you’re the one who needs a minute, though, because you’re not sure how you’re still breathing, let alone standing upright with him this close.
So close that your breaths are mingling together in the small space that’s left between you, so close that you can count every single one of those beautiful eyelashes as they flutter against his cheek.
“I’m sorry,” he finally says, and your eyebrows furrow.
“For what?” Your hand moves of its own accord, moving from his chest to find his bicep and squeezing gently to remind him that he’s okay. He lets out a hum, but he still doesn’t open his eyes, and you’re almost worried now.
“I’m sorry if this is weird. If I’m being weird,” he elaborates. “It’s just that — well, honestly, ah,” he seems to attempt to squeeze his eyes shut even more, if that were possible. “I’ve really been wanting to kiss you lately — like, more than usual, which is already a lot — fuck, sorry.” He inhales sharply. “You just looked so cute watching me before, and dancing with me now, so I thought that I… and then you didn’t move away, so I thought that maybe you…” He trails off again, and you’re sure your ears are playing tricks on you.
You move your forehead away from his, and his eyes finally open at the loss of contact. When your gaze meets his, your breath is nearly stolen away from you. He looks terrified as he searches your face, his eyebrows furrowed, and you know him so well that you swear you can hear him overthinking everything. His grip loosens on the back of your shirt but he doesn’t let go, and you can tell he wants to speak again based on the way his mouth opens and closes, but he doesn’t. You haven’t moved, and he doesn’t either, and you know he’s letting you decide how to respond. He would give you all the space in the world if you asked for it, you know that.
You don’t want space, though.
“It’s not weird,” you finally say, a blush spreading across your cheeks as you speak. “I’ve been feeling like that, too.”
Soonyoung’s eyes widen, and he blinks slowly. He takes a moment, processing, and then he starts, “You—”
“I swear all I think about these days is kissing you,” you blurt out, and you’re not sure who’s blushing harder now, you or him.
Before you even know what’s happening, Soonyoung is surging forward to close the whisper of distance that remains between the two of you. Then his lips are pressed to yours, hot and slow and lingering, his hand lifting to your jaw to angle your face so that he can kiss you even deeper. You let out an almost pathetic sounding whimper at the intensity of the kiss, at how warm and soft and good his mouth feels against yours, and he hums in return.
When he pulls away, it takes a second for your own eyes to flutter back open. He’s smiling so wide that his eyes have turned into crescent moons.
“Holy fuck, Soonyoung.” You’re breathless, and you can tell he’s pleased with your comment as his thumb caresses the side of your jaw.
“So much better than I could have ever imagined,” he returns, and you flush. “And trust me, I’ve thought about it a lot.”
You move to bury your face in the space between his neck and shoulder, not caring at all that he’s sweaty and warm. His arms pull you in, holding you close to his chest, and you hum as he gently sways the two of you.
“Now neither of us has to wonder what it’s like anymore,” you say softly.
“You’re right,” he agrees, pulling you back so he can look down at you again. His hands clasp together at the small of your back as he leans forward to teasingly brush his nose against yours. “Now that I know what it feels like to kiss you, though, I’m definitely going to be thinking about it even more than I already was.”
Your arms wind your way around his neck. “Me, too.”
“I mean…” Soonyoung is grinning, smile so bright it could outshine the sun, as he says, “We could just… keep doing it.”
You pull him into you so abruptly that it makes you stumble, falling in a tangle of limbs down to the practice room floor. You wince as you land on Soonyoung, but he’s laughing as you roll off and onto your back beside him. You throw a hand over your eyes, and you can feel it as Soonyoung lifts onto his side next to you. A hand moves to trace patterns on your arm, and you can’t help the shiver that courses through you.
“You didn’t hurt me,” he murmurs, and you can still hear the smile in his voice.
“I know. I’m just… Embarrassed.”
Soonyoung’s fingers halt their motions as he finds your hand and brings your arm away from your face, entwining his fingers with yours. He continues to play with your fingers, his body firm against your side as he leans against you. “Why are you embarrassed?”
“I was trying to be sexy and I literally tripped us, Soonyoung. This is why you’re the dancer and I’m not.”
Soonyoung’s mouth moves slowly, almost painstakingly slow, as a smile takes over his face.
He doesn’t say anything, and you’re about to let out a whine because you’re even more embarrassed with him looking at you like that. But he sits up, bringing you with him. The soft smile on his mouth grows, and grows, and grows, until his grin has widened so much that it’s taken over his entire face.
“You like me,” he whispers, and you can’t help the giggle that tumbles past your lips. You flush, giddy over how giddy he is, and you nod.
“Yeah,” you whisper. “I really, really do.”

Power Couple: The Aftermath (Roman Reigns)
Tumblr media
When the Tribal Chief falls, no one helps him back up better than you do. Set after the epic main event of Wrestlemania XL.
Pairing: Roman Reigns/OC
Warnings: Excess fluff and of course, smut.
Word Count: 3.3k
A/N: Yes, I'm still in my feelings, and there was only one pairing I could properly convey my feelings with, because this has also been their story all along. For new readers, I strongly suggest reading the first two one-shots before delving into this one. Hope you enjoy!

Tumblr media
1,316 days.
All wiped away with three slaps of the referee’s hand to the hard canvas.
Even after Cody rolled away from him, Roman could not move. Hell, he couldn’t breathe. Not when the air had been punched out of his lungs, literally and figuratively. It was only when Dwayne pulled him out of the ring by his pants leg that his body managed to kickstart itself into some sort of motion. And even then, all he could do was turn his head to look back and watch as Cody celebrated in the ring with his wife Brandi, holding his title belt aloft for the whole world to behold as the ultimate symbol of his victory.
It should have been you and him up there. It should have been him. Again. But it wasn’t. Because the one time he got careless in battle, it cost him everything. Throwing years of hard work down the drain.
And it made him sick to his stomach.
The sound of ‘Kingdom’ blaring through the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium was torture to the former champion’s ears. His legs felt like lead as he dragged his battered body up the ramp, ignoring Dwayne’s baseless, performative complaints about nothing, as he put distance to the tableau of triumph of his opponent. The weight of this defeat was heavy, suffocating even, and he was desperate to get the fuck out of there, to get out of Philadelphia, out of Pennsylvania and all its environs. As he reached the top of the vast WrestleMania stage, pain surged through his abdomen, forcing him to recoil into himself and double over in pain.
His Wise Man noticed his plight and paused to observe his charge. "My Tribal Chief, are you alright? Do you need-"
Roman shook his head. "I'm fine,” he snapped, willing himself to keep walking until he made it past the curtain. He leaned against the wall and bent over, resting his hands on his knees.
“What can I do, my Tribal Chief?” Paul implored.
“Just…get my wife on the bus and make sure everything’s ready to go. I’ll be there soon."
“Right away my Tribal Chief,” Paul replied eagerly, scurrying off to do as he was told.
It was a good long minute before Roman managed to pull himself back upright, staggering towards his locker room. Walking was so hard, his body hurt so much, but none of it hurt as much as the gut punch of failure. Much worse than any of the bumps he took was the shame, the disappointment engulfing him; so much so that he couldn’t bear to look anyone else in the eye right now.
Because he had failed everyone who cared about him.
He had failed you.
----------------
All good things come to an end. That’s how the saying goes, right? The interesting part of that was that on the surface, it was a throwaway little trope, harmless and benign, until something that meant a great deal to you got taken away in the blink of an eye, or in this case, a three-count. The moment the bell signaled the pinfall that confirmed your husband's time as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion had come to an end, you knew he would never be the same again.
It wasn't unlike Roman to be a little on edge weeks before a big premium live event. And given the nature of the two main event matches he was locked in for the fortieth annual WrestleMania, you expected he would be grouchy. But this time around seemed different, and not in a good way. He’d been surly towards everybody, including you. He disappeared for hours working out obsessively. He’d even thrown out a female member of the press who had dared to boo him at the press conference on Saturday night. Now, despite the final match of the weekend concluding nearly an hour ago, Roman was yet to return to his tour bus. That only meant one thing; he was not taking this defeat well, and it was up to you to lift him up, like you always did.
When you found the door boasting your husband's name, Heyman was outside, pacing back and forth. The Undisputed title, which you had grown accustomed to seeing on his shoulders on behalf of his Tribal Chief, was missing; a stark, prickly reminder of the outcome of tonight’s proceedings.
"That bad, huh?" you asked, reading the Wise Man’s expression in a second. In fact, he looked on the verge of tears, his shoulders sagging with despair. The weekend had taken an emotional toll on him, too.
"He won’t come out," he informed you, his usually confident voice shaky and helpless. “He won’t let anyone in and he won’t speak to anyone…”
You raised your index finger to cut him off. "Correction, he won’t speak to anyone that’s not me," you stated, shooting him a warm smile, one among countless others you had shared with him since burying the hatchet after years of friction between you. "Go be with your family, Paul. I’ll handle my husband.”
“He’s my family, too,” he declared softly, the conviction in what you used to call his beady eyes, palpable and heartbreaking, “Both of you are.”
Touched and at a loss for words, you could only look on as he turned around slowly and made the lonely walk down the hallway. Turning back to the locker room door, you sucked a breath between your teeth and blew it out, mentally preparing to confront this task head-on.
You knocked timidly and stuck your head inside. If Roman was in as foul a mood as Paul let on, even you did not want to be there. It had taken a few unfortunate incidents over the years for you to learn that even a kiss from his wife wasn't enough when he got too stressed. It never stopped you from trying, though. Kissing was one of your favorite things to do with him after all.
"Knock, knock," you called out softly, listening for signs of movement as you stepped inside and closed the door. The room that was bustling just a few hours ago was now stripped bare and cloaked in dead quiet. It was an eerie contrast to the majestic, sweeping grandiosity that encompassed his entrance to the ring tonight. “Babe?”
Venturing further inside the room, you found him on the couch, his strong, broad back to you, his shoulders slumped dejectedly. An open bottle of Jack Daniels sat on the coffee table in front of him. His ula fala was draped over the headrest, where his title belt would surely have been.
This was the reality no one warned you about after a monumental loss. It plunged you into a cold, dark abyss, wrought with biting silence and dreary loneliness now that the show was over and the lights were no longer bright. The what ifs, buts and maybes crooning in your ear like a morbid symphony. It was an experience all too familiar to you unfortunately, and recently, too; you and your husband had traveled down this terrible road following the tragic miscarriage of your son in the summer of 2022.
Stepping in front of him, you wiggled into his personal space and made yourself at home on his lap. Gently wrapping your arms around him, you sighed with relief when he instantly melted into you and his huge arms enveloped your waist, holding on to you like his life depended on it.
“My baby,” you cooed soothingly, the sound of your lips meeting the side of his head piercing through the emptiness of the locker room. “My love.”
The audible hitch of his breath at your soft words was expected. In the course of your lifetime, those two little phrases had garnered a poignant significance. As words of comfort and solace first uttered by your mother when you were a child, you murmured those words regularly to Roman between sweet, playful kisses when he was courting you, basking in the bliss of newfound love, and again as part of your wedding vows as you became man and wife. They were the first words you whispered to Laleia the first time she was placed in your arms. They were the words that you had cried yourself to sleep with as you mourned the baby boy you had lost. You and Roman had seen each other at your absolute best and worst, and now, in the isolation of this room, with just the two of you and nobody else, this was another bad moment you had to overcome.
“On Matt’s birthday, too,” Roman finally spoke, wiping at his nose with a sniffle. “Fuck, man.”
“I know,” you replied, running your hand comfortingly up and down his upper arm. As he met your gaze at last, you saw that his eyes were bloodshot. Seeing him like this broke your heart afresh. You held him as close as possible, willing all his pain and his hurt into your soul, wanting nothing more than to take it all away.
"I fucked up," he breathed, his voice raw and choked with misery, "I fucked up out there, babe...I let Dwayne down...I let y'all down. I lost the title and I'm sorry."
"Sorry? For what? Over thirteen hundred days as champion?" you countered, "Nine WrestleMania main events? Billions of dollars in revenue? A roof over your child's head and three square meals a day? One loss will never wipe any of that away, don't ever get it twisted."
He exhaled tiredly as he hugged you tighter, resting his head on your shoulder. "I really wish I felt that way right now," he mumbled.
"It'll take some time, but you will," you asserted, running his fingers through his loose hair before tugging it lightly, making him look at you again. "Roman, you changed the industry, just like you said you would when we started this. No one will ever, ever forget what you've done these past four years. Be proud of all of it. You've been through so much, you sacrificed too much to not be proud."
Roman nodded in understanding. He just wished he didn't feel so down. "Baby, I...I want you to know how sorry I am. I know how much you wanted this. And I've been such a dick to you lately-"
You kissed your teeth and waved his apology away. "Nah. That don't matter no more. And I don't care that you didn't win. All I care about is you being safe when you're out there. Being healthy for our family and our daughter, who will be very happy to have her Daddy home, by the way. So we took an L. Okay, we'll only come back stronger. We had one bad night. Guess what? I plan on giving you a better morning, if you know what I mean." You rounded off your words with a wink, your heart blooming when he chuckled in response. "See, there's that smile I love so much. Keep your head up, baby. You did so good tonight. I couldn't be more proud of you."
Roman leaned into you, his forehead pressed to yours, breathing you in and filling his head with your scent. It was like breathing fresh air. “I love you, Y/N. I love you with all of my heart. I don’t deserve you, I never have.”
The tears you'd been fighting all night resurfaced, but you blinked them away as you captured his lips with yours, your hand sliding over the back of his neck. He clung to you, a different emotion quickly overtaking him as he returned your kiss with a bit of aggression, his tongue whipping hungrily against yours, savoring your mouth as though he was tasting it for the very first time. You surrendered to his every whim, your other hand raking through his hair then caressing gently down to his chest, resting your palm over the spot where his heart pumped for you. You could feel how much he needed this moment of intimacy, and you had no qualms giving him anything he asked for.
With one quick tug of your legs, Roman had you straddling him on the couch, bringing you chest to chest with your lush backside resting on his growing bulge. He paused for a moment to take a deep breath, then sealed your mouths again, his tongue invading, probing, a moan rumbling in his chest when you matched his energy, the emotions take over this loving embrace. He could never get enough of you, of the passion that overwhelmed him by your mere presence, immersing him in a love and gratitude he would always feel for you no matter what state of mind he was in.
Eventually, you pulled away from each other, breathless, panting, lips glistening with each other’s saliva. His heart raced at the familiar gleam in your darkened eyes. You weren’t done with him, not just yet, and this was confirmed as you slowly slid off him and sank to your knees between his spread thighs, pushing the front of his shirt up to expose his newly honed six-pack abs.
“Do you know how fucking hot you looked tonight, Daddy?” you purred to him, leaning in to run your tongue over the ridges of muscle on his taut belly. “Last night? All week? Do you have any idea of all the nasty shit I’m gonna do to you on the bus?”
Roman’s dick jumped in his joggers as his imagination ran wild. He squirmed in his seat, his bottom lip slipping between his teeth as your tongue lapped at his belly, your mouth warm on his skin, all while you rubbed the fullness of his bulge straining eagerly against your touch. “Baby girl…” he choked out, as your fingers peeled the waistband of his pants, unveiling his big, beautiful brown dick.
“Hmm, commando. I like it,” you commented with a smirk, curling your fist around his turgid length.
“Babe, wait…ain’t Paul outside?”
“I sent him home. Plus, won't be the first time he's seen me suck you off.” Your small hand massaged his blunt, plum-shaped head as you licked a trail along the underside of his dick, enjoying the gasps of pleasure that he made. Licking up the pre-cum that had gathered at the tip, your mouth opened wider to take him in. He stared you down with an intense look in his dark irises, which soon fluttered shut as your lips wrapped tight around his flesh, his stomach tensing as he felt himself slide deeper inside. “Awww, fuuuck,” he moaned.
Pulling back for a second, you held his lust-filled stare and stroked his dick a little harder, giggling when it twitched in your grip. A defiant look clouded your eyes as you licked at his tip before pushing him back into your mouth. It was enough for him to nut by just watching you, the visual of your lips sliding slowly up and down his length, that sexy mouth of yours making sweet love to his dick. It felt so good that he sank further into the plush leather of the couch, his head rolling back lazily against the headrest, his toes curling inside his brand new Air Reigns sneakers. All the pain and punishment his body had endured tonight melted away and was replaced with much more pleasurable sensations.
“I love the way you suck my dick, wifey,” he praised you, forcing himself to observe you through his barely open eyelids. “Mmm, that slutty little mouth is warm as fuck…You so sexy, baby, keep lookin’ up at me like that...”
His raspy growls had you glancing back up at him, batting your pretty eyelashes as you sucked him off. Wetness pooled between your thighs at his famished expression. Completely aroused, you picked up the pace as your hands and your mouth worked in tandem, sucking and stroking his dick, pleasuring him from tip to base. His breathing became heavier as he throbbed against your tongue, his hands finding the back of your head as he got lost in the paradise of your warm, wet mouth.
“Damn, baby. I bet that pussy leakin’ for me right now. You gettin’ wet sucking Daddy off, beautiful?” he taunted, his tongue swishing over his bottom lip at the same time your tongue swirled around the base of his shaft. The little moan that escaped your throat told him he was right. Of course he was; he knew his wife better than anybody else. “Good girl. Keep goin', I want that pussy extra wet. I’ma lick all that shit up when we get on the bus.”
With another soft moan, you crawled closer to his body and bore down on him, bobbing your head up and down that long, fat cock. Scooping your hair up into his large fist for leverage, Roman rocked his hips upwards from his seated position, thrusting in and out of your mouth. You relaxed your throat to take him deeper, moaning around his dick and letting him know how much you were enjoying him fucking your face. You rolled his balls in your hand, caressing the heavy, tightened sac to send him over the edge. It was working, as he began thrusting faster, his husky groans of pleasure amplifying as he neared his release.
“Unnnhh, baby, here it comes…Fuck, open your mouth,” he gasped, not waiting for you to do so as he yanked you by your hair to free himself from your intoxicating mouth. You quickly opened wide as he grabbed his cock and jerked it desperately against your tongue. He caught sight of the glazed-over quality of your gaze, and he knew that your panties were completely ruined, your pussy dripping with your need for him. He planned to take care of that very soon.
It was a show more spectacular than Mania, the sight of his gorgeous face contorted with pleasure, his head thrown back, eyes rolled to the heavens as his orgasm washed over his big body. Your moans harmonized together with each spasm of his cum down your throat, making you swallow every drop he unleashed. His grip on your hair was tight and almost painful, but you were turned on anyway, aroused by the knowledge that no one brought him to this state of paramount pleasure like you did. Licking your lips, you scooped him back into your mouth to clean him up, released him with a soft pop when you finished, and tucked him back inside the confines of his joggers. You giggled as he stared dazedly at the ceiling, licking his lips to catch his breath, his big frame slack and helpless as he recovered from the intense orgasm.
"Goddamn, baby...Shit," he groaned.
Wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, you stood up and sat back on his lap, welcoming the gentle press of his mouth to yours in a sweet, grateful kiss. “You feel better, Daddy?” you asked.
"Much better. I needed that so much. Thanks, baby," he smiled up at you, his stomach doing flips as you smiled back. He truly was the luckiest man in the world.
“Mm-hmm. Luckily, there’s more where that came from,” you assured him with another kiss before getting to your feet and pulling him up to his. “Come on, Daddy. Let's go home. We got a toddler to take care of. We'll figure out all the other stuff when it's time."
He nodded in agreement and squeezed your hand. “Okay, baby. Home it is.”
A new chapter in your story had been opened tonight, and the path ahead seemed uncertain and even scary. But you both took pride in the fact that as long as you kept writing it together, your love story was going to remain as beautiful as it already was.
But make no mistake about it; Roman Reigns was going to rule the wrestling world again. That was one story that was never going to end.
THE END

Thoughts? How sappy was this😢Was quite cathartic for me, loved writing it.

i now present to you!!! NOCOVEMBER 2023
Tumblr media
i decided to give you guys two options for each week this year and i wanted them to correlate to one another in some shape or form + an extra month to work on it!
the rules are simple!
⋆ use #NocoVember2023 and tag me when you post your art/story (i wanna see it so badly u guys 🥲🫶)
⋆ comment/reblog saying that you'll be joining and tag 3 people who you think might be interested (it is totally okay to still be unsure and not participate in the end okayyy :D)
⋆ you can pick one theme, both, or mash them together for each week! the choice is yours, and you don't even have to do all of 'em
⋆ feel free to post your work at any point in november (or if you want to do it a month earlier or later, it's up to you :0)
⋆ for the angst and older prompt, please don't do anything nsfw related. i'm asking you to not draw/write smut, but if you want to do something gory for the angst prompt, always put a proper warning!
⋆ remember to have fun, never hesitate to ask me questions, and don't feel pressured to join <3
each prompt is explained under the cut
Week 1 - Sun & Moon / Cat & Dog
these can either be taken literally (as in you make them into for eg; noah, a black cat, and cody, a golden retriever) or metaphorically (noah has moon energy so you include things that symbolize that, and same goes for cody with his sun energy)
Week 2 - Monsters / Angst
you can turn them both or one of them into (a) monster(s)! this could be tethered to the angst genre or you could make a completely different angsty scenario between the two of them
Week 3 - Older / Childhood Friends
they can either be in university, full-grown adults, or heck! even elderly men 😭 so how do they look now? what's changed in their lives and in their relationship? do they still keep in touch or have they strayed away from each other? who knows! it's all up to you
as for childhood friends? they could be toddlers like on dramarama, maybe prepebusecent teens? just make sure they are younger than they are on the show (aka 16)
Week 4 - Canon Divergence / Reality TV Duo
i wanna see you put these two nerds in a completely different reality tv genre! it could be a cooking competition, something like wipeout or love island, a quizz show! anything as long as it isn't total drama.
unless,,, you do want them to be a duo in TD then you could make a canon divergence situation where these two are the ones participating in ridonculous race, or write/draw them in a scenario that's based off any scene in total drama (one that either has them or has nothing to do with them whatsoever) and twist it in a way that makes Noah and Cody's relationship the main focus
PLEASE GO ABSOLUTELY WILD WITH YOUR CREATIVITY!!! I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE IT :D

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4
╔═══━━━─── • ───━━━═══╗
You kept thinking about the kiss.
Maybe overthinking it?
You kept thinking about how soft and gentle it was. How you expect it to be rough and dominating but instead, it was total opposite, which kind of throws you through a loop.
He’s a killer, but does he have a soft spot for me? Why would he do that, to prove a point maybe?
“Y/n.” Cody reaches over and lays his hand on yours, “You didn’t take some of your pain meds before you came did you?”
Oh right, we’re at dinner, “No. no. I didn’t sleep well last night and then I tried taking a nap earlier after we got back from the station and that..” you shake your head, “Sorry. I’ve been itching to get back to work and-“
“Well what do you want to know?” Cody leans back, “I’m pretty well caught up on it, so maybe I can help fill you in on what you think you don’t know.”
You smile, “Yes. Work talk would be great right n-“
Your attention is taken away from Cody, and placed onto Sam who is sitting at the bar.
“What is it?” Cody asks, slowly turning his head to look over. Sam turns around right as Cody looks at him, and with a saving grace, Ben and Nat walk in, giving you the perfect excuse, “Sorry. It’s my brother and Nat.”
“Ben and Nat? I was wondering when they were going to reconnect.”
“You knew?!” You look at Cody, laughing slightly, “Like for certain you knew?”
He shrugs, “I mean, you can read it off of them from a mile away.”
“That’s what I said! Well, something like that.” You laugh, glancing back over towards Sam. He raises his glass to you, giving you a wink before standing up to move somewhere else.
If he’s here, then that means one of the others is here, too.
And you’d be correct.
He meets Johnnie down at the other end, but you turn your attention back to Cody, “So.. work. Sorry.”
He shakes his head, giving you a smile, “You’re good, sweetheart. Ask away.”
“Have the families of the men who are a part of that plan to take down the hospital moved into P.C yet?”
You look at Cody as he shakes his head, almost looking disappointed, “No. Since the murders have been happening in the east side of town, they-“
“They’re waiting until one of them finally loses a husband. A father. A grandfather?” You roll your eyes, “Please. They have all the -“
“Y/n. I’ve been trying. Ever since you said something to me about it in the hospital. A lot of the men, who I have called myself, laughed and said let them come. They think they can take down these assholes themselves. No matter how much we push or try, it’s really on them.”
“That’s actually..” you stop, taking in a deep breath, “I’ll talk to the chief myself about that. I’ll go door to door myself if I have to.” You take a long sip from your glass, “Do you think there’s more to Ben getting shot?”
Cody takes a sip of his drink and tilts his head, “I’m going to need you to elaborate a little bit more. I’m not sure I’m following.”
“Do you think that there was just one shooter? Was this a part of the.. Killionaires?”
Cody is quiet for a moment before leaning in, “Y/n. If he was a target for those assholes..” He sighs, “I hate to say this, but I think you’d be a target, too.”
“Are you saying you think the accident was from them?” You take a sip of your wine and raise your brows as he doesn’t answer, “You do.”
“I didn’t say that.” Cody shakes his head, “What..” He sighs, “What I’m saying is, I don’t know what or who caused our accident, and if you think there’s something more about Ben shooting then take it up with the chief.”
You swallow, clenching your jaw, “Okay. Maybe work talk was a bad topic of-“
“No, no. I just.. I care about you a lot, and even thinking that you could be a potential target.. it just pisses me off. I didn’t mean-“
“Fancy seeing you two here.” Ben says as he walks up.
You smirk, “Yeah, I could say the same thing about you.” You glance to Nat, “Could have told me.”
She laughs slightly, “Yeah, yeah. I just.. wasn’t sure where we stood after.. everything, you know?”
You nod, “I understand.”
“Would you like to join us?” Cody offers and luckily, they decline, making their way over to their own table.
Cody looks from them to you, “Cute couple, huh?”
“Oh yeah. Totally.” You smile and down your wine, “Where’s the waiter? I need-“
“More wine?”
Your heart falls into your stomach at your eyes meet Colby’s, “Uh. Yes, yes please.” You remind yourself over and over again to stay calm, cool, and most importantly, collected.
“And for you sir?” Colby looks at Cody and Cody shakes his head, “Whiskey, please.”
“Coming right up.” Colby turns, giving you a wink before going to fetch your drinks. You take a deep breath, “Didn’t we have a different waiter before?”
“I don’t know, I wasn’t really paying attention.” Cody laughs, “You look really pretty tonight.”
“Thank you.” You smile, looking down, “You clean up really well, yourself.”
You couldn’t lie, you felt weird being here with Cody after you run in with Jake this afternoon. You swore you could still feel his lips on yours, which only made you sink deeper into the hole of betrayal.
“I’m going to run to the restroom quick, if he comes back to take our order when I’m not here just get me what you get.” You give him a smile and turn, your smile disappearing as you walk away.
You walk around the bar, stopping when you see Sam sitting at the end. He looks over at you and you tilt your head, mouthing, “What are you doing here?”
He chuckles, mouthing back, “Keeping an eye on you.” He raises his finger off the glass, pointing at you and you roll your eyes, pushing the bathroom door open.
You walk in, hands gripping the counter as you feel like you’re about to pass out, “Shit. Okay.”
“You alright there, honey?” An older woman asks as she walks up next to you, “You look a little pale, and you’re sweating.”
“I think I drank too much.” You laugh slightly, “Wine doesn’t agree with me sometimes. I don’t know why I drink it.” You reach out to take the paper towel she ripped off for you, “Thank you.”
“I had that same problem, but with tequila. Oh boy was that rough.” She laughs, “Water will help, and a cool towel, and if you need to puke, don’t fight it.”
You nod, “Thank you.”
She washes her hands and exits the room, leaving you alone to calm down.
You make your way back out, bumping into someone as you round the corner, “Oh, sorry.” You look up, seeing Colby as he turns with the tray of glasses, “Not a problem, sweetheart.”
He smirks at you, “After you.”
“Mhm.” You huff as you walk around him, smiling at Cody as he comes into view, “There was a lady in there who told me her life story about how tequila is a no go for her.”
“People are so comfortable nowadays.” He laughs, motioning to Colby, who he doesn’t know is Colby, “Ah, yes. Thank you.”
“Of course. Are we ready to order?”
You and Cody order, spending the rest of the night, not talking about work, mainly so you don’t spew all over the table.
It was a good evening. You became slightly tipsy and giggly, but you could still hold your tongue and not say anything too specific.
Once you arrive home, you hoped Cody would just drop you off and leave, but the alcohol in your system had other plans as soon as he kissed you goodnight.
He walks you back through your door, lips still on yours as he kicks it closed. His hands hold you close to him as he guides you over to the couch.
He sits down and you instantly straddle him, grinding down as his lips trail down your neck. You let out a small moan as his teeth sink into your neck, sucking and nipping at the skin between them.
“I’ve missed you.” He whispers against your chest, “You have no idea.” His hands slide up to pull the straps of your dress off your shoulders, kissing the skin that was hidden beneath them, “You are so beautiful.”
You close your eyes, whimpering out as he moves your hips, grinding his bulge up against you.
As you open your eyes, Jake’s figure appears from within the hall and you gasp, scrambling to stand up as you push yourself away from Cody, “Um. I’m sorry. I’m not..”
“It’s okay. It’s okay. We don’t-“
“No, I just.. I don’t think doing this while I-“ you take a deep breath, “I can’t have this and focus on the current case.”
“It’s fine. Okay? I get it.” Cody stands up, “You don’t ever have to explain yourself, okay? I trust your judgment.”
“Thank you.” You sigh, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have drank with the pain meds probably still in my system anyway.”
“I should have thought about that, I’m sorry.” Cody kisses your head, “Get some rest. Text me in the morning, okay?”
You nod, “Okay. Thank you.”
You walk him over to the door and give him a smile as he turns around to wave. You lift your fingers off the door, making sure he gets to his car before you close the door.
“Well that was quite a show.” Jake breaks the silence, “You didn’t have to stop on my account.”
“I didn’t find anything else out. If that’s what you’re here for.” You press your back against the door, “Sorry.”
“What are you sorry for, love?” Jake walks up, copying your position, “You tried, right?”
You nod, “He thinks that if Ben was a target for you guys, I would be one too.. and-“
Jake clicks his tongue, “So, you think I shot Ben?”
You shake your head, “Didn’t say that, but I would like to know who did.”
“The guy in prison, was the one who shot your brother, but the person behind it.. he’s..” Jake stops talking and you turn, pushing his shoulders into the door, “Just fucking tell me, Jake.”
“You’re cute when you’re mad.” Jake smirks and you push his shoulders harder, “I swear to god. I gave you what you wanted. You have the names. What more do you want?”
“I need you to stop them from placing them into protective custody.” Jake says calmly, “Your work is far from done, babe.“
“They’re not going.” You mumble as you step back, “According to Cody, a lot of them just laughed and hung up, said something about let them come or whatever.”
Jake laughs, “Oh that’s hilarious. They really think they can take us on?” He shakes his head, “That’s.. I needed a laugh. Oh fuck, is that funny or what.”
You stare at him, unsure of what to say.
“Make sure it stays that way, will ya?” Jake walks around you and without even thinking, you grab his arm, pulling him to you, “What more do you want from me?”
“I think you’re asking that for yourself.” Jake whispers, “What are you doing?” His eyes follow as your hand slides up his chest, “Y/n.”
“Do you want this to happen or not?” You look up at him and Jake takes a deep breath, “I would love for this to happen, but you’ve been drinking, and I do have respect for you.”
“I’m fine.”
“I don’t think you are, baby.” Jake steps back, cupping your cheeks with his hands, “You’ll hate yourself even more in the morning if we go through with this. I’m saying no because you don’t need a distraction right now. You need to sleep.”
You stay silent, pushing yourself away from him before walking back to your room and slamming the door.
You sit on the bed, staring at the floor as your mind races, asking yourself what the hell you’re doing.
Your bedroom door opens and Jake steps in, “Ben is home.”
“You better go. I don’t know how I’d explain you being here after he saw me at dinner with Cody.” You stand up, reaching behind you to unzip your dress.
You let out a frustrated sigh as you can’t grasp the small zipper.
“Here.” Jake whispers as he reaches to spin you around, “I got you.”
He drags the zipper down your back, his head tilting as your bare back is exposed to him. He licks his lips, leaning in to whisper in your ear, “We’ll have our moment, just not like this.”
He steps back, freezing as footsteps and shuffling fill the hall. You can hear him and Nat laughing as they file into the room Ben is staying in.
“Gonna be a long night, yeah?” Jake laughs slightly and you scoff, “uh huh.”
Jake reaches back, locking the door, “I can stay for a while?”
“Do you not trust me?” You walk over to your dresser, pulling out a shirt and a pair of shorts. Jake watches as you drop the dress, revealing your figure to him and he clears his throat quietly, “We’ve been over this, y/n.”
You change into your clothes, “So your minions, following me to dinner was what, to get ahead of me?”
Jake nods, “Pretty much. But I also want you safe.”
“No, you need me safe. You’re scared I’m going to turn on you.”
“Are you scared I’m going to turn on you?”
You stay silent asJake walks over to you, “You may not have done the killing, but there’s blood on your hands, too, sweetheart,”
Your brain was clouded, you couldn’t sort through anything, no thoughts were clear, “Fuck. Fuck.” You lay your hands over your face but Jake pulls them away, “Listen to me. As long as you do as I ask, you’re safe. Why do you think I flipped out on Johnnie for hitting your side of the car?”
“Why did you even let someone who doesn’t know how to drive, drive in the first goddamn place?” You throw your hands up and let them slap your thighs.
“Quiet down.” Jake whispers, fingers brushing your jaw, “and calm down.”
“D-“
“Calm. Down.”
You take a deep breath, the sound of laughter and the bed hitting the wall sounds and you can’t help but laugh, “Oh my god. I can’t.. I can’t believe this is my life.”
Tears form in your eyes, but you continue to laugh, “Oh my god.”
“Are you good?” Jake asks and you look at him, “Oh yeah. I’m great. I might be losing it, but I’m gre-“
Jake cuts you off with a kiss to your lips, which he allows you to deep. His hands squeeze your face as he pulls back, “No, I told myself-“
“I don’t care what you told yourself.” You breathe out, “Just don’t think about it.” You pull him back in for a kiss and walk him backwards, pushing him down onto the bed before you crawl up to straddle him.
“Not like I can tell anyone about this anyway.” You smirk down at him and his hands move up to grip your hips, his fingers digging into your skin as you grind down on him.
“I probably would have lost it if i seen him fucking you.”
“I could tell by the look on your face, Jake.” You lean down, lips connecting to his.
He rolls over, his hips between your knees as his lips find your neck, “We shouldn’t be doing this.” You groan quietly at his words, “Why?”
“Like you said, baby.” He lifts his head, tilting it as he flicks his brows up, “Might fall in love.”
You smirk, “That such a bad thing?”
He nods with a quiet laugh, “I mean, yes and no.”
“Do you not want to?” You sit up onto your elbows, “I’m giving you full opportunity here.”
Jake sits up, “I know. I know.”
You sigh, “It’s fine. You can go now.” You move up the bed, getting under the blankets, “I’m sure I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I’m going to be gone a few days. I have names that need crossed off.” Jake says as he stands up and you nod, keeping your stare away from him.
“Y/n.” He asks lowly, “Are you o-“
“I’m fine.” You cut him off, pulling the blankets up to your chin, “Just fucking fine.”
Jake nods and lets out a quiet sigh, “I’ll catch up with you in a few days.”
You stay still until you know he’s gone. A part of you is so sad that he left, but the other part or you can only wonder one thing.
Who the hell am I becoming?

Obi-Wan supposed it might have all started because someone gave Cody a lightsaber. No, it had not been Obi-Wan, and even if it might have been, he knew to always cover his own ass. Qui-Gon had been an excellent teacher, for the most part, and there was one thing he had drilled into Obi-Wan above (almost) all else: never drop plausible deniability.
No, he’d no idea where the lightsaber had come from. No, Cody could keep it now. He wasn’t going to take the damn thing away from Cody when the good Commander had, evidently, come across it fair and square. Obi-Wan knew his Commander; it wasn’t like there was some fresh-faced thirteen year old Padawan wandering around somewhere sans ‘saber. If he had to take a stab at the quandary, he supposed it probably would have happened the time Cody’d dogpiled Grievous with the rest of his Command Corps. No, not that time. The time after that one, perhaps.
Regardless, there came a time when Cody’s tac belt had two lightsaber clips, not just one for when Obi-Wan strategically left his lightsaber in a secure place for safekeeping. The two of them never discussed the fact that Cody was likely Force sensitive. It didn’t seem something Cody was at all interested in; given the givens, Obi-Wan was predisposed to let him take the lead on the topic. Or not, as it happened.
But Obi-Wan couldn’t let that stop him in the face of something so egregious as this, even if Cody seemed determined to duck out of the conversation at every turn.
“I am not a Jedi, sir,” Cody told him for the fifth time that day. “I fail to see what tactical advantage there would be in meditating with a weapon.”
“It isn’t entirely a tactical advantage, per se,” Obi-Wan demurred. “But it can be. It’s difficult to articulate.” Especially when most resources for teaching lightsaber forms and meditations were meant for Initiates first starting out, or struggling Padawans; not outsiders to the Order, and certainly not ones that hadn’t grown up in the Temple. If they’d had the time—if not for this bloody war—Obi-Wan might have taken Cody to Jedha for insight. “Would you learn to fight with a particular blaster even when you haven’t familiarized yourself with its base components, or haven’t learnt how to disassemble and repair it?”
Cody frowned. It was a minute thing, barely a twitch of the corner of his mouth and a slight tilt of his head.
Aha. Obi-Wan pressed his advantage, absently touching Cody’s elbow to direct him around a group of techs as they walked through the halls of the Negotiator. “It’s the same for a lightsaber. The kyber—or heart of the lightsaber—is not just a power source; a strong connection between oneself and one’s kyber is paramount to maintaining a good working relationship with the lightsaber itself. And a good working relationship leads to better results in a fight; not just anyone can pick up any old lightsaber and start swinging it around and expect good results, you know. That’s why the black market money is mainly to be made in the raw kyber itself, not in the weapons.” Obi-Wan made eyebrows at Cody over this, who simply glared at him. Ah, well. A man had to find his fun somehow.
“You have me there, sir,” Cody sighed. He was graceful in his concession, at least. Unlike some others Obi-Wan could name upon learning that, yes, meditation with a new lightsaber was practically required…
“We can clear up an evening for it,” Obi-Wan said, magnanimous even in victory. As ever. “And perhaps I can show you what I mean, rather than trying to talk in circles around it.”
“But you do so love talking in circles around things, sir,” Cody said, dry as anything. Obi-Wan mimed shocked outrage at him, and they passed the next few hours in good humor.
“This can be done anywhere, really, but for your first time I thought to make it somewhat more formal,” Obi-Wan told Cody. He’d somewhere unearthed a spare meditation mat to set in between the cramped space between his ‘fresher and desk. Incense in a lump-shaped holder wafted smoke into the air; one of his last good joss sticks. But this was a special occasion. “Many Jedi like to do it in the salles, and many Consulars perfect it in the field.” There had been the especially memorable time during Obi-Wan’s own Padawanship in that nest of gilloms…
Cody inspected his new outfitting and seemed satisfied, though it was hard to tell. He sat on the mat with no complaints and suffered through Obi-Wan running a hand across his shoulders, then nudging Cody’s legs with his own into something more closely approximating a meditative pose.
“The floating is optional, then,” Cody remarked.
“Well, yes. It’s up to personal preference,” Obi-Wan told him, resolutely not letting his flush creep above the collar of his tunics. It was Obi-Wan’s personal preference, really, and usually something more commonly found in the creche than not. “You can hold your lightsaber, or set it in front of you, or in your lap. Many Jedi like to hold themselves in the Force with the lightsaber, hence why this is often accompanied by one’s lightsaber floating in front of oneself. For today, do whatever feels right to you.”
Cody nodded, then opted to hold his lightsaber loosely in his lap. After a moment of consideration, he mirrored Obi-Wan’s own pose: one hand folded atop the other in his lap, thumbs pressed to each other, lightsaber cradled in his palms and just under the arch of his thumbs.
Obi-Wan guided Cody through the preliminary steps of a light meditation, discarding many of the more Force-oriented aspects and focusing on the connecting to one’s lightsaber, on opening oneself up and letting the kyber reach out in turn. When he felt Cody slip deeper, into a state simultaneously more introspective and more concentrated on his lightsaber, Obi-Wan turned his own attention to his kyber.
The heart of a lightsaber could be a curious thing. This wasn’t all completely altruistic; Obi-Wan had left out the bit about also needing to meditate with his ‘saber, because then Cody might have given him one of those looks. But it was good to refamiliarize himself with his kyber, in a ritual both utterly familiar and yet somehow foreign. He just hadn’t done it in so long, or at least not as thoroughly as he might have liked. They had changed, the both of them. The war, Anakin’s Knighting, Obi-Wan’s own views of the galaxy at large and perspective of self… such was the nature of having a malleable brain and being subject to the rigors of time.
Some interminable time later, the soft beeping of a timer brought Obi-Wan up out of the depths of his meditation. He cracked his eyes open and took a moment to settle himself back down onto his mat, still feeling like a great river was still carving its way through his skull in vast, sweeping currents.
“Don’t give me that face,” was the first thing Cody said when he finally deigned to open his eyes.
Obi-Wan, caught mid-insufferable-smirk, quickly arranged his face into something with less smug. “I shall endeavor to do nothing of the sort. So?”
“I see what you mean,” Cody grudgingly allowed. He looked like he was still chewing something over, so Obi-Wan let him stew in silence while he packed up the remains of the incense and their mats. They shared a quiet dinner over formwork together, as well as a quick update sent to Mace when they dropped out of hyperspace to shift to another lane.
They continued to meditate together. Over time, not always with their lightsabers; Obi-Wan didn’t say anything about it, because a Commander Cody was—at times, very rarely—a creature easily spooked, and Obi-Wan had to be careful in his approach to certain things. But it was—good. To have someone else to share time and space together like this. He hadn’t realized how much he missed it until it became a regularity in their schedules; oh, he meditated plenty with Ahsoka, when the 501st and 212th was berthed together or they were sharing missions, and sporadically with Anakin in these same instances, but it… was somewhat another thing, to come to look forward to meditation with another.
Now it wasn’t just Obi-Wan—by himself, in his silent quarters—but it was Cody-and-Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan was also realizing how much he had missed teaching. It wasn’t the same flavor of interaction as between a Master and Padawan, but Obi-Wan enjoyed that Cody was an excellent listener and genuinely enjoyed hearing Obi-Wan ramble on about whatever topic of the day it was. Or topic of the hour, as it sometimes happened. Not only that, but he was the most delightfully clever conversationalist—something that Obi-Wan had always known, at heart, yes, but was coming to explore more and more, as of late.
And then there was the other side of Cody’s learning how to wield a lightsaber.
“You’ve been holding out on me, darling.” Obi-Wan reset and swiped his hair out of his eyes with his shoulder, sweaty fringe just flopping right back over his brow. Of course. He needed a trim was what he needed, but first… he had this to sort.
“I bet you say that to all the men who try that shoulder lock on you.” Cody snorted and readjusted his grip with a quick twirl of his lightsaber. Obi-Wan felt something molten and shivery slide through him, because he had taught Cody that. He manfully ignored the quiet whisper in the back of his head that Cody’s fighting style, after this, would have the hallmark of Obi-Wan’s hands all over him.
The good Commander took Obi-Wan’s split second of distraction as his cue. Bastard. He’d probably been doing it on purpose. Obi-Wan very carefully ignored the frisson of feeling that thought gave him, focused on defense, and then, when Cody had settled into a rhythm, pressing the attack.
“Only you, my Commander,” Obi-Wan said warmly. He ducked under Cody’s guard when his step faltered at that little exchange and the quick twist of the wrist Obi-Wan gave his ‘saber, but didn’t quite press his advantage. This match wasn’t about beating Cody into the ground, though Obi-Wan had no doubt that his Commander would give him a run for his money even if that were the case; no, this was about teaching Cody, and drilling the muscle memory into him.
Cody had taken to lightsaber fighting like a quacta to slime. They’d rotated through each form, but Cody had returned to the first they had drilled for a strong foundation, and Obi-Wan had to say that it quite suited him. This variant of Shii-Cho focused more on lethality than disarming, something which might have given pause to the Jedi Obi-Wan of five years ago had been—but Obi-Wan of now couldn’t argue with results, if those results were what kept Ghost Company alive and well and the Sith from overtaking them. His Commander fought with a combination of focus and brutality, utterly utilitarian but almost elegant in its most efficient economy of motion. Obi-Wan found himself almost comparing Cody’s style to that of a Nabooan ballet dancer’s, famed for their relentless discipline and endurance.
The bout ended when Cody broke through Obi-Wan’s guard with a clever bit of bladework and bashed the crown of his head into Obi-Wan’s face, narrowly missing breaking his teeth in.
Obi-Wan laughed through the blinding pain—literally, his vision was still sprinkled with bright lights and strange afterimages—and said, lying on the floor, “I was right.”
Cody narrowed his eyes at Obi-Wan, lightsaber—now off—imperiously leveled at Obi-Wan’s chest.
“You have gotten better, now that you’ve been meditating with it.”
So, yes. It might have started when Cody found that lightsaber—and held onto it—and learnt to wield it properly. Obi-Wan had a suspicion—well, he had a number of suspicions. This primary suspicion, however, was how it ended.
It was supposed to be a routine inspection; rote, trivial, something necessary but not a thing anyone truly looked forward to. But a gaggle—or perhaps drove—of senators had decided to invite themselves along, some kind of publicity stunt, Obi-Wan didn’t know. Usually Adi handled these sorts of things, or else one of the other PR- or legal-inclined Masters. Thus, of course, Chancellor Palpatine had to say some words at the landing pad—some inane drivel about whatever the hell sentiment Palpatine was using to drive through his bill of the week. Obi-Wan tried not to grimace too obviously at the thinly-veiled warmongering the Chancellor was using to drum up support and inclined his head toward his Commander, about to comment on the daring sartorial choices of one bold politician, when Cody tilted his head towards Obi-Wan and nearly knocked him on the temple.
“I didn’t know the Chancellor used to be a Jedi,” Cody said.
Obi-Wan’s comment died halfway up his throat. He blinked at Palpatine, then at Cody. “Pardon?”
Cody shifted infinitesimally backwards on his heels, allowing Obi-Wan a better view of where Palpatine stood on the other side of Cody, with Anakin flanking the Chancellor’s left.
“He’s got a lightsaber in one of those concealed carry holsters at his back,” Cody told him, eyes still forward, settled in a textbook-perfect parade rest. “I was.” His eyes shifted to Obi-Wan and then back forward in a rare—and unsettling—display of trepidation. “Doing a bit of meditation. As it were. Haven’t had the chance to get the ‘saber out in too long with all these… press tours. So I felt it. First.”
Obi-Wan gaped, forgetting all about the attendant senators and cam droids and the battalion of clone troopers at his back. There were… well, very few reasons he could think of to explain why Senator Palpatine, of all people, had a lightsaber. In a concealed carry holster meant to hide it away even from the eyes of Jedi, of all things. Because—“He most certainly is not, and never has been, a member of the Order,” Obi-Wan said. In fact, he had never been a part of any Force sensitive sect. In fact, Obi-Wan had it on good authority and as a matter of public record that the Chancellor was as Force sensitive as a brick.
Allegedly.
Well. This would either be very, very funny, or disastrous for all of them. Obi-Wan held out a hand and yanked, not letting himself think of any other outcome. A cylinder of cool metal slapped into his hand, stinging his palm and sending an unpleasant shock down his arm. If not for his long history of battling Sith, Obi-Wan might have dropped it on the spot for how it reeked of the Dark, now out from Palpatine’s immediate sphere of control.
Mas Amedda’s blathering stuttered to a halt. Obi-Wan stared at the hilt in his hand, then at Cody’s expression slack with surprise. He thought he knew what the color of the blade would be even before his thumb hit the switch; it was almost like a dream, or a barely-remembered dreg of an old nightmare.
A venomous scarlet light sprang forth.
“Well,” Obi-Wan said after a moment. “I suppose now you can say that Sith lords are our specialty.”
Palpatine shrieked something hysterical and reached out, fingers curling into hooked claws and expression contorting from that of a kindly grandfather into a spitting tyrant. Obi-Wan braced himself for something—he didn’t even know what—and—
Brilliant green light split the morning. Cody caught Palpatine’s chain of Dark lightning on his blade and bared his teeth in a fierce challenge. The stark shock on Palpatine’s face was almost enough to make Obi-Wan laugh. Instead—he leapt forward with his own lightsaber raised in a cross with Palpatine’s—cutting off whatever poison Palpatine had been about to spit at his Commander.
In the end, it came down to the timely and swift intervention of the Coruscant Guard. Anakin had been too busy torn between shouting at Obi-Wan that there must be some mistake, and being goaded by Palpatine into drawing on Cody. Palpatine kept trying to say something to Cody, or else to the nearest officer—Gregor, taking potshots at the Chancellor or else keeping the other senators away from harm—but every time, Obi-Wan or Cody drove him back to the edge of the landing pad and parried another round of lightning or dodged Force shoves.
“I’ve always wanted to do that,” Fox said to Cody, after, as the scene was taped off and various senators’ statements were taken. He’d shot Palpatine just under the heart, giving Cody the chance to take Palpatine’s head off. Obi-Wan would have been shiningly proud, except he was currently trying to keep his ribs from puncturing his lungs and steering Anakin away from going into histrionics.
“Er, Cody,” Obi-Wan said, tugging on the sleeve of Cody’s blood- and char-spattered greys. There was something very pressing he had to do, right before Mace got here, and his ribs were as supported as they were going to get until a medic got to see to him.
Cody turned, resplendent in his sweaty flush and still breathing hard. Fighting with him in a duel like that had been exhilarating; just as on the battlefield, they worked together like a well-oiled machine, and if not for the circumstances of it all, Obi-Wan would have been enjoying himself immensely.
“I’m tendering my resignation as an officer, effective immediately,” Obi-Wan told him, watching the way the Coruscant sun limned Cody’s tight curls from behind and gilded the edge of his cheek. With that out of the way, he fisted a hand in the front of Cody’s stiff uniform and pulled him down to kiss him soundly on the mouth. Quite a few troopers whooped at the sight; that was likely Gregor who was wolf whistling in a truly obnoxious manner.
“You had to do this in the most dramatic way possible,” Cody said, but he sounded fond, despite it all. He pulled back, cast a critical look at the way Obi-Wan was holding his ribs, then ducked back down for another—more chaste—kiss. “As long as you’ll take me with you when you go, my General.”
From just beside Obi-Wan, Anakin let out a sound previously only heard from gravely ill massiffs and tipped right over his breaking point.

Summary; reader and Phil have a fight and says some hurtful things but they make up in the end.
Warnings; some swearing and some hurtful words
angst ( with a good ending )
Recovery was hard and painful both physically and mentally, it was challenging and sometimes, you were just upset at the whole world that it had to be you. Phil was barely back in the WWE and got badly injured on the first big event he participated.
That night, you were there backstage, watching the men’s Royal Rumble, you saw that DDT and how Phil was different after taking it. You could’ve sworn something was wrong- the way he kept reaching for his elbow, you were honestly more worried about this than the outcome of the match.
When he came back after losing against Cody, your fears were confirmed as his elbow was wrapped in ice. At that time, you didn’t even know how bad it truly was, yet your heart broke for him- he didn’t deserve to go through that. He was finally back and his moment was taken away from him.
Before you even had the confirmation that Phil’s injury was a torn tricep, you promised him you’d be there for him for each step of recovery- no matter if it would be a short or long one. Sadly, what was suspected ended up being right, your boyfriend would require surgery for his torn tricep and would be out for months.
It had been a couple of weeks since the Royal Rumble and Phil’s injury, it hadn’t been easy but you had been there for your boyfriend- you tried your best to make his life easier wether it was bringing a few more cushions on the sofa so his arm could lay comfortably or do chores that weren’t easy with one arm.
However, the last few days were getting harder, mostly for Phil but you were the one who had to suffer through his bad mood. You knew he probably didn’t even realize he was being an ass, so you just let it flow, you didn’t want to cause an argument as you never had a big one with your boyfriend and you wanted it to remain that way.
Today, Phil had been in a particularly bad mood- everything seemed to annoy him, even your mere presence. You didn’t say much and just let him be for the time being. When you came back from work, Phil wasn’t back from rehab for his elbow- which was unusual. It became a routine for you to get back home and be greeted by your boyfriend, then you’d go on a walk with Larry.
It wasn’t without your heart feeling heavy that you went on a walk with Larry. Phil adopted him years ago, way before you, but from the start of your relationship, Larry became so important to you, in a way, he was like your son. You tried not to overthink during your walk but it was hard- you were wondering if you had done something wrong? Perhaps, it was worse than that and Phil didn’t love you anymore.
Larry and you made it back home at the same time as Phil but you didn’t address him a single word until you were sitting on the couch- you were too upset with him to start a conversation.
Phil probably realized something was wrong as you didn’t initiate a conversation or even ask him how rehab had been today, “ how was work? ”
“ Fine. How was rehab? ”
“ Fine too.”
You nodded, not having much to say but a part of you was also being petty and chose to give him as much energy as he gave you. Phil sighed, “ are you going to tell me what’s going on?”
“ There’s nothing going on.”
“ I’m not stupid, y/n. You usually ask me right away how rehab was, you always talk to me but not today?”
You shrugged, hesitating a few seconds, wondering if you should bring up his behavior for the past few days- it couldn’t keep going like this, “ I don’t know, you’ve be an ass to me for the past few days and I don’t get why. I don’t get it, I’ve been doing my best to make sure you’re not in pain or doing something that could hurt you more.”
“ Didn’t you consider that maybe I don’t need you to do all that? I’m not helpless, I’ve been through plenty of injuries and surgeries. It’s sweet that you want to help me but honestly? You’ve been suffocating.”
Those words stung like hell, you didn’t really expect to hear that in all honesty, all you wanted was to make it easier for him, “ and you couldn’t just tell me I was doing too much instead of being an asshole?”
“ Oh come on! I was not an asshole, I’ve just been annoyed with you.”
“ Okay, I won’t do anything for you anymore.”
Phil rolled his eyes dramatically, accompanied by a loud sigh, “ that’s not what I said, don’t dramatize it. I just want to breathe, to be left alone and not have someone babying me as if I’m not a grown ass man.”
“ This someone happens to be your girlfriend Phil, and I was not babying you. I’m sorry if it seemed that way, I just wanted to help.”
“ Well, if I had known you’d be like this when we got together, I would’ve thought twice before asking you out.”
If you had been shot at that same moment, you were sure it would’ve hurt less than Phil’s words, from the look on his face, he also realized what he said but it was too late to take it back. You choked up on your words as only a “ oh ” came out. Maybe you had been right when you wondered if he didn’t love you anymore, it sure seemed the case at this moment.
Tears in your eyes, you got up and rushed to your shared bedroom- you didn’t think much but if there was something you knew, it was that you didn’t want to see Phil’s face anymore today. You grabbed an empty sport bag and shoved a couple of clothes in it, you’d come back to get more if needed later.
Once you were done, you headed to your car but not before giving Larry a kiss on the top of his head. Phil rushed after you as soon as he saw you leaving with a bag, “ baby, please wait! ”
“ Fuck you, Phil.”
With that, you drove away from the place you called home- you hadn’t really planned where you’d go for the night, you just drove for a while to cool off and ended finding a hotel to spend the time. You had friends you could’ve crashed at for the night but you didn’t want to burden them with the fight you just had with Phil.
It was only later in the night when you were laying in the hotel’s bed that you finally dared to look at your phone- Phil had tried to call you countless of times and texted you a couple of times asking you to come back, that he was sorry and begging you to, at least, tell him you were somewhere safe.
Which you did, you replied with a simple and short “ I’m safe, sleeping at a hotel.” as soon as you hit the send button, you shut your phone off for the night and tried your best to fall asleep. It wasn’t an easy task, the fight you had with your boyfriend replying in your head for a majority of the night until exhaustion took over and allowed you a few hours of sleep.
The next morning, you found it hard to get up from bed, not only you had only gotten a couple hours of sleep but they also had been terrible- this bed wasn’t as comfortable as the one from home and honestly, sleeping without Phil next to you was hard. When you looked up at your phone, mostly to call in sick for work, you had a few more texts from your boyfriend.
Some were more apologies, other were begging you to come home or to give him the address so he could come to you to talk. Did you want to see and talk to Phil again after yesterday? You weren’t sure but you needed clarity- you wanted to know if he still loved you at least or if you were over.
The latter thought broke your heart a bit more than it already was, you didn’t really imagine your future without Phil in it- that’s why you ended up texting him the address of the hotel you were staying at for now.
Only an hour later, Phil was knocking on the door of the hotel room you were staying in- you had taken a shower and ate a little in the meantime but let’s be honest, you looked like a mess. You took a deep breath before you slowly opened the door and let Phil in with a barely audible “ hi. ”
Your boyfriend came with a beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers, “ these are for you, sweetheart. ”
“ Thank you, they’re beautiful. ”
“ Not as beautiful as you.”
You dramatically rolled your eyes at this, these one liners wouldn’t be enough to have you forgive him, “ yeah, I look miserable today but thank you still. ”
“ You look beautiful even when you look tired. ”
“ So… you wanted to talk?”
Phil stayed silent for a second, as if he was carefully choosing how to words what he wanted to say, “ I’ve fucked up, I know it and I’m so sorry for everything I’ve said. I didn’t mean it, these past few days, I’ve grown really frustrated but not with you. With myself. I’m frustrated to have to stay back and miss many events, I thought this year was finally my year- that I’d get to main event Wrestlemania and keeping it all for me wasn’t the right move because I ended up lashing out on you when you just wanted to help.”
“ You should’ve talked to me, Phil. I don’t mind giving you space, I just needed to know that.”
“ I know and again, I’m sorry. I don’t think you’re suffocating, I like that you care so much for me, sometimes it’s a bit too much but that’s on me for not telling you to stop.”
You nodded, you were glad that Phil was finally opening up to you, that’s all you needed from the get-go. Yet, there was still a thought lingering on your mind and you needed clarification on it, “ do you still love me?”
“ What? Sweetheart, of course I love you! You’re the love of my life, you are so important to me. I’m sorry for being such an asshole that you thought I didn’t love you anymore.”
Pain could be read in Phil’s eyes and his words managed to reassure you, a small smile tugging you your lips, you said, “ this was the worst night in my life, I don’t think I can sleep without you anymore.”
Phil laughed at this and gently pulled you into a hug, you had missed him so much.

My first piece for @swartists4palestine! I’m calling it “Rage the Tooka”, and it was written for @indistinctchatt3r. Hope you enjoy!! (I did include Codywan but it’s more implied than anything else.)
-
Cody stares at it.  It stares back.  “What are you doing here?” he asks.
It screeches and lunges at his face.
This is when he discovers it has claws.  By the time he has pried it off of him, he’s bleeding from several places.
It meeps indignantly as he lifts it up by the armpits.  Leg pits?  It’s a quadruped.  The thing is…well, it’s fluffy.  It’s cute, when it’s not trying to rip his skin off, or maybe even then.  “You remind me of Rex,” he tells it.  “When he was four and decided biting was an affectionate thing.”
It meeps again and tilts its head before attacking again.  Cody rips it off.  Again.
It meeps and attempts a third attack.  This is unacceptable.
Cody must regroup.
“You adopted a tooka,” Rex says.
“Yes.”
Even over comms, Cody can tell he’s holding back laughter.
“What did you name it?”
Cody is not here.  Cody had absconded.
“You didn’t name it?”
Not here.  Never not at all—
“I’m calling Seventeen,” Rex says, like the little brat snitch he is, and hangs up.
Naturally, Cody panics immediately and intensely.  Seventeen is as close as he has to a parent.  For such a horrible mistake as leaving a living being in one’s care nameless, he will be slaughtered without mercy.
He can only pray it will be a swift death.
Of course just as he thinks this, his comm chimes.  The tooka blinks irritably at him as he answers it.
It arrives at its destination (his face) with much screeching as soon as he speaks.
Seventeen takes this in blankly.  “Help,” Cody says.
“I know what you should name it,” is all Seventeen says.  His voice is as amused as it ever is, which is to say not very.
“What?”
“Ridaan.”
“I can’t name it Rage,” Cody huffs.  The tooka immediately tries to bite his ear off.  “Never mind, that’s perfect.”
Seventeen snorts.  “Have fun, ad’ika,” he says, and cuts the call.
Cody looks at Ridaan.  Ridaan mrrps.  “Oh,” Cody says.  “So now you’re calm.”
The problem with Kenobi is that he wants to know things he is not allowed to know, such as Cody’s mother tongue.  So of course he jumps at the chance to ask such questions when they’re doing datawork and Ridaan takes her chance to attempt murder.
Except instead of going for him, she goes for Kenobi.  Cody panics, obviously, because he has grown grudgingly fond of Ridaan’s antics and he doesn’t want her taken away, and thus yells, “RAGE!  STOP!”
Only judging by Kenobi’s face, he didn’t call her rage.
He called her Ridaan.
“Oh shit,” he manages.  Ridaan, tucked firmly in Cody’s arms, meeps concernedly.
“And who is this?” Kenobi says, diverting the conversation quickly.  He probably sensed Cody’s panic in the Force.
Bastard.
“Her name is Rage,” Cody says.  He offers her.  Kenobi reaches.
Ridaan meeps, and for the first time since Cody has had her she escapes him not to commit horrific acts of violence but to curl up in Kenobi’s arms, purring.  He scratches her ears.
“She’s lovely,” Kenobi says warmly.
Cody can’t stop staring.  “She likes you,” he murmurs.  “I can’t believe it.”
Kenobi smiles at him.  “Why, because it’s me?”
“She likes me, and she likes Rex,” Cody tells him bluntly.  “No one else.”
“I suppose that’s a good mark for my character, then?”
Cody meets his eyes and cracks a smile of his own.  “Yeah,” he says.  “Very good.”

post order 66 codywan on tatooine !! and they’re happy !! (there is the tiniest bit of angst. but mostly they’re happy. or getting somewhere close to it)
don’t ask me for the context of this because i do not know. i just wanted to write it <3
Obi-Wan’s voice floated past his shoulder, light as the sand but infinitely softer, “Oh, Cody.”
He wondered if he could have smiled, yet his face felt numb and somewhere beyond him, “Is it that bad?”
Obi-Wan’s answering laugh was wry, it sounded as if it hurt, and Cody’s already aching body cried out in sympathy. The feeling sat deep within his chest, the pain of his body for a moment fading in comparison to the mournful feeling that echoed in his heart. Obi-Wan was a different man now, in so many ways. Most of all, he was now perhaps more honest. He did not attempt to reshape himself, to hide behind a mask as blatantly as he had used to. Instead, Cody heard his pain now, knew that the cause of it was his own.
“It’s bad, my dear.” He sighed, as if it pained him to admit as such, “I am sorry.”
Cody laughed, he hoped not cruelly, but rather in stark disbelief. “You’ve nothing to be sorry for.”
There was quiet for a moment as Obi-Wan began to wrap the wounds on his back in bandages, hands careful against the broken skin. Cody kept his body carefully still, did not allow himself to hiss in pain.
“I’m sorry I haven’t got any bacta.” Obi-Wan paused, perhaps hoping that Cody would accept the diversion. He was not, Cody supposed, a truly different man. When he remained silent, Obi-Wan continued, “I could have found you sooner, should have sensed you were alive.” In a way he had not before, he spoke with regret heavy upon his tongue.
“How?” It came out harsher than he’d intended, and at Obi-Wan’s quiet intake of breath his chest ached. “It’s just -- How could you have known? Force, I barely knew I was alive for five years.” Somewhere the emotion he’d felt fell away, leaving him with only a sense of cold numbness. Softly, he cursed, feeling sick deep in his stomach. “Force. Obi-Wan --”
“I know, darling.” Another moment of silence, “I’m sorry.”
Cody barely heard him, his mind made numb again by horror, “Five years.” If his voice had been louder, it might have wavered; yet as it was his words were barely audible, too quiet, even, to shake. He’d known logically, of course, just how long had been taken from him, but until this point it hadn’t truly hit him. Before this point, he had been running, fighting just to survive, but now at last he’d stopped. A choking sob fell from him, and he moved to cover his mouth, as if to stop the horror from escaping.
“Cody,” Then Obi-Wan was on his knees in front of him, a gentle hand fluttering past his face. “Darling, you’re here now. You escaped.”
He swallowed a gasping sob, leaning in desperately towards the touch. Obi-Wan caught his face in both hands, guiding their foreheads together.
“Breath, my darling.”
Another sob. It shattered as it left his body, a cracked noise as it escaped into the little space between them. On his third attempt, Cody managed a steady breath and Obi-Wan hummed contentedly.
“There you are.” He brought his hand a little lower to cradle Cody’s chin, smiling softly at him, then ran his thumb across Cody’s cheek. In response a little broken noise escaped his throat. He drew in another shuddering gasp. “You’re okay, darling.”
Cody nodded slowly, as if the action alone would give him time to believe Obi-Wan’s words. It wouldn’t be yet, he knew, but as he breathed in slowly, he wondered if eventually it might be.
He exhaled.
At some point he hadn’t noticed, his hands had found their way to Obi-Wan’s shoulders so that his fingers dug into the flesh in a way he was sure was painful. He swallowed the brief flutter of dread that again his body had moved without his mind. Then, remembering himself, he murmured a quiet apology and loosened his grip.
“You’ve nothing to apologise for.”
The hand not cradling his face shifted and in response Cody reached up and curled his own around it, entwining their fingers in a way that made him ache. Obi-Wan exhaled softly, and just for a moment Cody’s whole being seemed to freeze, to shudder, and then at last relax.
He curled his other hand around Obi-Wan’s neck, every movement gentle, slow. It was if he was watching two versions of himself split apart; the Cody of before who did not know his name, only cold plastoid beneath his hands, and the Cody now, who breathed in time with the pulse of another.
Obi-Wan looked up at him with a question in his eyes.
In answer Cody kissed him.
It was only a brief thing, a little, desperate touch. As if, after all this time, this was all they had ever dared to imagine they could have.
Now, though. Cody breathed in time with the rise and fall of Obi-Wan’s chest. He kissed him again.
It was soft and gentle and warm. It was the hum of a lamp set low for hours against a dark night, the steady warmth of the sun against the back of his neck, the slow curling of embers as they died and grew again. Somewhere between one breath and the next the Cody of after shifted more fully into focus.
Even when they moved apart, they remained close, sharing each shuddering breath. Stars, pulled into one another’s orbit.
For a moment there was only breath, gentle against his cheek.
Then, “I’ve missed you.” Cody swallowed; his throat ached with the motion. Then, he said what he had not been able to all those years ago, a familiar refrain at last given words. “I love you.”
“Oh, darling.” Obi-Wan moved as if to kiss him again, paused, their noses brushing. “I love you too.”

Revenge
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paring: Rhea Ripley x fem!reader (established), Charlotte Flair x fem!reader (eventual)
Summary: You lost your NXT Championship to Lyra while Rhea was gone and she was not happy. When you didn’t succeed at getting it back she and the rest of TJD left you. You found comfort in someone else who also helped get your revenge.
Warnings; ansgt, light choking, smut
Word Count: 5.3k
A/n: The reader is technically Dominik and her father is Carlito but it’s not mentioned.
Tumblr media
“1…2…3! Here’s your winner! And new NXT women’s champion, Lyra Valkyria!” You dragged yourself out of the ring to sit against the steel steps, hugging your knee. You panted through your gritted in pain. You had just lost your title to Lyra. You fought as hard as you could but you still lost.
Fuck.
Rhea was not going to be happy when she came back. What were you going to do? Now she’s going to think you couldn’t handle business on your own. You slowly got up and limped backstage. The ref tried to help you but you just pushed her away saying you could walk on your own.
Once you were backstage you went straight to your locker room. You sat in front of your dresser, looking at yourself before slamming your fists on it out of anger. Why didn’t you kick out? You took a deep breath before you started taking off your makeup and tried to relax. Maybe she would take it easy on you. At that moment your phone’s screen lit up with a message notification from Damian:
‘You did good out there. Don’t stress too much about it, alight?’
You smiled before replying and heading out to your hotel.
Tumblr media
Monday Night Raw
“JUDGMENT DAY COME OUT HERE! WE NEED TO TALK!”
You took a deep breath and hid your hands in your pocket so no one would notice how badly they were shaking. Only you and Damian walked out since Finn was out, injured from the brawl that happened last Monday. Slowly, you made your way into the ring, Damian looking more confident than you did. You took off Rhea’s belt from around your waist and gave it to her, your hands still shaking.
“Now we all know the judgment day has no leader, correct?” she began, “But each of us has our own responsibility,” she looked directly at you, “So, what happens? Mami gets taken out for two weeks by Nia Jax and all of a sudden everything starts falling apart. Because mami is the one who makes the game plans but when I left I gave someone else that responsibility and they disappointed me.”
You lowered your head thinking she was referring to you until she said Damian’s name and turned in his direction.
“I go, and you can’t handle the job,” she continues, “After the brawl last week, Finn is out injured. You can't even compete tonight against Jey because you are not medically cleared. And what else happens Priest? Y/n lost her NXT women’s title to Lyra because you weren’t out there to help as I told you to.” At that, you lifted your head and looked at him. He was supposed to be there to help and chose not to?
“And now we have a Cody and Jey problem, you wanna know why? Because they don’t fear us, Priest. They can see the tension. They don’t see us as a threat. And because of that, they are going to try and take the tag team titles from you and Finn. And what are you gonna do about it, huh? You can’t do anything.” You could feel the tension between them from where you were standing.
“With all due respect Rhea,” it was Damian’s turn to speak, “You’re not saying anything I don't already know. I know that Cody and Jey are coming for the titles, but when push comes to shove…I’ll push harder. You know, the way I see it, I have my titles. I have my contract. I don’t want to point fingers or start anything but…Mami, where’s Y/n’s title?”
He looked directly at you with no remorse. You looked back at him with a hurt look on your face. Why would he do this to you? He’s supposed to be your family. Rhea turned to look at you. Her gaze filled with a mix of anger and disappointment. You couldn't hold eye contact for long and lowered your head once again.
“Y/n, I’m your Mami, right? What does that make you? That makes you my babygirl. So tomorrow night, at NXT, you have a rematch against Lyra Valkyria. You’re welcome,” she lifted your face with her finger, “But if you don’t come home to me with that championship…then don’t bother coming home.”
You felt your heart shatter into a million pieces. Your eyes watered but you were able to keep the tears at bay. You gulped and simply nodded at her statement. You all then got out the ring and walked backstage. When you did Rhea left to handle other things and you turned towards Damian.
“Why would you do that?” You asked.
“Do what?”
“Throw me under the bus! We are supposed to be family!”
“Listen, you were the one who lost their title, not me.”
“Only because you weren’t there to help.”
“I shouldn’t have to help you Y/n. And if I do have to help you, then maybe you shouldn’t be champion.”
“What about all the hits I took for you and Finn to help you win those titles?” you questioned while pointing at the belts around his waist.
“...” he said nothing and walked off. You roughly ran your hand through your hair before storming into the judgment day’s locker room. You slammed the door behind you, the anger and frustration boiling inside you. You took deep breaths, trying to calm down when someone walked in. JD McDonagh.
“Wow, are you okay?”
“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it, now what do you want?”
“Okay um, I was looking for Rhea and Damian.”
“I-”
Right when you were about to speak, both Rhea and Damian came in arguing but once they saw you and JD they stopped.
“¿Qué hace este tipo aquí?” Damian asked with anger in his voice.
“Damian, calm down, I asked him to be here,” Rhea looked at JD, “Tell him your plan.”
“Alright, we know Kevin doesn’t like or trust Jey. How do you think he’ll react to him and Cody going for the Tag Titles that he and Sami couldn’t get back? We need to play mind games here. If we make them stop trusting each other then we’ll have a soft spot to go for. We divide and then we conquer.”
“What do you think Damian,” Rhea looked at him.
“I don’t know, I’ll think about it.” He walked out once again.
“Y/n, Lyra is having a backstage interview, you know what to do.” She gave you a cold look and you just gave a firm nod and walked out, she followed suit. You eventually found Lyra and called her name.
“Lyra! If I were you, I wouldn’t get too comfortable with that belt because come tomorrow, I’m taking back what is rightfully mine.” You snarled.
“And she’s not going alone,” Rhea said, doing the little wave she always does.
“Yeah? We’ll see about that. See you tomorrow.” That was all Lyra said before she left. You were going to make your way back to the locker room until Rhea grabbed you by the neck and slammed you against the wall.
“You better win tomorrow, understand?”
“Sí mami,” you gasped out. She let go of you and walked off and you followed a few seconds after catching your breath.
Tumblr media
NXT
You were moments away to walk out for your match against Lyra at the main event. The crowd roared with anticipation as you took a deep breath and adjusted your gear, mentally preparing for the match ahead. You needed to win.
“Are you ready, Mami?”
“Yes, let’s go.” She followed you out. Your music started blaring as well as the boos and the cheers for you. You looked at Rhea, she raised her eyebrow, and you gave her a firm nod. You stared down Lyra as you slid into the ring and she did the same.
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall, is for the NXT Women’s Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, she is Y/n L/n!” you raised your arms, taking in the cheers and the boos, “And her opponent, she is the NXT Women's Champion, Lyra Valkyria!” Lyra raised the belt and the whole arena burst into cheers. It made you jealous. You missed those cheers before tuning heel. She gave the belt to the ref and you opened the ropes for Rhea but before she stepped through them, she grabbed a hold of your jaw.
“Don’t disappoint me again.”
“I won’t. I promise mami.” She finally stepped out and the bell rang.
You and Lyra circled the ring before you made the first move. You went for a clothesline but she dodged it. She took the opportunity to dropkick you from behind and go for the cover but you were able to kick out. You both went into an exchange of hits until you finally took her down. You dragged her closer to the ring post, climbed to the top rope, and went for a frog splash but Lyra brought her knees to her chest and took you out.
The match had been going on for a while. You were getting exhausted as well as Lyra but you both kept kicking out. You were climbing to the top rope when Lyra came from behind, powerbombed you, and went for the cover.
“1...2…3! Here’s your winner! And still the NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria!”
No.
No, no, no, no!
This can’t be happening.
You sat up and looked for Rhea and found her walking backstage, without you. You crawled to the ropes and called her name.
“Rhea! Rhea, please!” She paused for a second then turned towards the ring, only to give you a disapproving look, and finally disappeared backstage, leaving you behind. You could feel the tears beginning to form but you didn’t dare let them out.
“Maybe you should have listened to your father when he told you that the judgment day was bad news,” Lyra said from behind you. Your look of sadness soon turned into rage when you turned to look at her.
“This is all your fault.”
“This had nothing to do with m-” before she could finish the sentence you jumped on top of her and started throwing punches.
“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! IF IT WASN’T FOR YOU I WOULD STILL ME CHAMPION AND RHEA WOULD STILL BE HERE!” You kept throwing punch after punch until you were finally pulled away from her by three refs. You stared at her getting up before shrugging off the ref’s hands and walked out of the arena. You didn’t bother going to the locker rooms.
When you got to your car the first thing you did was text Rhea and the rest of the judgment day. When you got no response you decided to call.
Straight to voicemail.
You sighed in defeat and decided to just drive back to your hotel and wait until the morning.
When you woke up in the morning you reached for Rhea’s warmth but when your hand didn’t feel her, the memories of the events that took place the night before came back.
You lost.
You lost against Lyra.
…And Rhea left you.
You quickly reached for your phone and called Rhea’s number once again.
“Please leave your message for-”
“Fuck.” You tried calling the others, even JD, but they didn’t answer either.
You felt lost. You realized how much you relied on her and without her you felt so lost. You didn’t know what to do.
Tumblr media
Monday Night Raw
You stormed out of your locker room once you were informed that the JD was in the building. They had ghosted you all week and you were going to confront them.
“Rhea!” You yelled from the other side of that hall when you saw Rhea talking to who looked like Cora Jade. When she saw how angry you were she excused herself and left you and Rhea alone.
“What do you want?” Rhea growled.
“What do I want? You and the rest of judgment day ghosted me all week.”
“What did I tell you was gonna happen if you didn’t win the NXT Women’s Championship back? Hm?”
“Y-you can’t be serious.”
“I am very serious. You aren’t strong enough to be in judgment day anymore.”
“Not strong enough? What about all the things I’ve done for you, Damian, and Finn! That doesn’t matter anymore?”
“No.” You felt true anger when she said that. The words that came out of your mouth next were out of pure rage.
“I want a match. Against you.” She began to laugh maniacally.
“You want a match against me?” she chuckled, “You can’t even beat Lyra, what makes you think you can beat me?”
“I don’t care, I want it. Tonight.” She shook her head, looked you up and down before speaking again.
“Fine, I’ll talk to Pearce. See you in the ring babygirl,” she mocked before walking away. You hadn’t noticed but a couple tears had escaped your eyes but you quickly wiped them away.
“This is my brutality!” Rhea’s music blasted through the arena. She walked down the aisle while Sam introduced her.
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, representing The Judgment Day, she is the Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley!”
After she got in the ring your music hit. You walked out into the arena and locked eyes with her.
“And her opponent, Y/n L/n!”
When you got in the ring you gave her a death glare and she returned it. The bell rang and you two started circling the ring before launching at each other. Out of nowhere, she picked you up and slammed you into the mat. You got up quickly and ran towards her only for her to move out the way. You turned and got all up in her face before slapping her across the face. Usually her opponent would be terrified after doing something like that but not you. You were too upset to care.
You wanted revenge.
“You think you can just slap me-”
You slapped her again.
“Yes. Yes I do-” she wrapped her hand around your neck and began to squeeze but you managed to break free, delivering a swift kick to her midsection. While she was getting up you delivered a dropkick and went for the cover.
“1…2-” she kicked out.
You took a moment to breathe before putting her in a headlock only for her to break free and head butting you. You backwards on the mat and she went for the cover but you kicked out at two. She grabbed your face harshly before she spoke.
“You think you’re at my level? Huh?” She spat out. You pushed her away and got up. You glared back at her, the fire in your eyes reflecting your determination. She only smirked in your direction running at you. You duked and tried to go after her leg but she was quicker than you and moved out the way.
While you were getting up she delivered a dropkick taking you out and going for the cover only for you to kick out at the last second. This infuriated her. She picked you up, positioned you for riptide and slammed your body full force on the mat.
“1…2…3!”
“Here’s your winner, the Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley!” She pushed your body away before snatching her title from the ref and lifting it up high. You started to drag yourself toward a corner of the right but before you could reach it you felt yourself being dragged back to the middle of the ring. Rhea flipped you onto your back and lifted your head up by your hair.
“You are nothing without me. Nothing,” she said with venom in her voice. You felt the tears coming out at her words.
“Rhea let her go, the match is over.” The ref yelled. She slammed your head against the mat before getting up and finally leaving the ring.
“Are you okay?” asked the ref. You just nodded before getting up and walking backstage. You headed straight to Adam’s office. You knew if you stayed on raw any longer it I’ll be a death sentence. You walked into his office without bothering to knock.
“Adam, I need to move to smackdown.”
“I think that’s the best option but you are going to have to talk to Nick before we make it official, okay?” you nodded before walking out and heading towards your locker room.
Tumblr media
Friday Night Smackdown
You stood outside of Nick’s office. You took a deep breath before knocking. You waited a few seconds before you heard him say ‘come in’. You quickly opened the door and walked in.
“Y/n, good to see you. Adam told me you would come by.”
“It’s good to see you too.” you smiled politely.
Please, take a seat,” he said while pointing at the chair in front of his desk and you gladly took a seat.
“I’m guessing this has to do with what happened on monday?”
“Yeah, I wanted to ask if I was able to move to smackdown? We all know what would happen if I stay on raw.”
“Yeah, I think I have an idea of what would happen. Well I have good news and bad news.”
“Go on,” you sighed.
“I would love to have you here but as you know, when Jey moved to raw, a superstar from raw had to be drafted to smackdown. Therefore if you want to move here, you’re going to have to find a superstar that would be willing to switch with you. Preferably a woman,” you nodded along, “If you can find someone by the end of the night, I will have a contract ready for you next week.”
“Okay, thank you so much Nick.” You outstretched your hand.
“Thank you,” he smiled lightly and shook your hand. You smiled back and excused yourself out. You started to think of all the female superstars on smackdown who would be willing to switch with you. Bianca has her storyline with Iyo Sky, Mitchin is with the OC, Damage Ctrl is…Damage Ctrl, and…Shotzi! You could ask Shotzi. You started walking to her locker room until a voice stopped you.
“Look at what the cat dragged in. Where’s Judgment Day? Matter of fact, where’s Rhea?” You took a deep breath before turning toward them.
“Charlotte, please, I don't need this right now.”
“I told you this would happen. Everyone did. Why didn’t you take my offer when you had the chance?”
“...”
“Tell me.” she walked closer to you.
“...I wanted to believe that they actually wanted me and that they weren’t using me,” a tear fell down your cheek, “That i was enough for once…”
Flashback
“It’s okay to be scared, Rhea, having seconds thoughts about choosing me-”
“Queeny, queeny- can I call you that?” you cut Charlotte off, “You know what? Nevermind, sweetheart. I’m not gonna let you run down mami, my queen.”
“Look at you taking orders like a good little niña,” she smirked as you made your way into the ring, “Sweetie, why don’t you be a good girl and get Rhea for me, hm?” You wouldn't admit it to anyone but her comment made you blush a bit.
“I-” before you could get another word out, Rhea's music hit. You found it strange because that wasn’t the plan. You were supposed to keep talking smack to Charlotte but you guessed it was a last minute change. You noticed that Rhea looked furious making her way to the ring.
“Rhea–”
“I got it from here. Now go backstage and wait for me there.” was the only thing she said before getting in Charlotte’s face. You only looked between them hesitantly before walking out. You watched the rest of the interaction backstage. You were glad nothing bad happened, you didn’t want for things to get too out of control. You knew how long Rhea had been waiting for this moment, to finally beat her biggest enemy. You didn’t want for her to ruin it by letting her anger get the best of her. After they finished the promo they were brought backstage separately. Rhea barged into your locker room fuming.
“What the hell was that out there?! Huh?!”
“What are you talking about, mami? I was doing what you asked–” You were cut off mid sentence by a sharp pain against your cheek.
“I told you to distract her not to whore yourself out and flirt with her!”
“I-I’m sorry mami,” you said while gripping onto your burning cheek.
“Good. I’m going to get some fresh air, we leave in ten,” and she walked out. You let some tears spill but you quickly wiped them away. You brought upon yourself. You shouldn’t have flirted with Charlotte. You looked in the mirror and made sure there was no bruise on your face before walking outside to Rhea’s car.
“Y/n,” You heard your name being called from behind you. You turned only to come face-to-face with Charlotte once again, “Where are you going so fast?” she asked with a smug look on her face. You started to panic a bit. You didn’t want to risk being seen with her and for someone to tell Rhea.
“Charlotte, I can't be seen with you so please, just leave me alone.” She took notice of your redden cheek and her expression changed to a look of concern.
“Did she do that?” she tried to touch your cheek but you quickly stopped her.
“That’s none of your business.”
“You know it will only get worse, right? She's gonna get tired of you as well as the rest of Judgment Day and they’re gonna leave you hanging.”
“No, they won’t.” Charlotte sighed.
“Why don’t you join me? Hm? I’ll give you everything you want and more. I would treat you so much better than she ever will.” You only looked at her, contemplating her offer but out of the corner of your eye you saw Cathy talking to someone. If she saw you talking to Charlotte, she would definitely tell Rhea.
“I-I’ve gotta go,” and you walked off.
End of Flashback
Charlotte's expression softened slightly as she listened to you, and she hesitated before speaking.
“You were and still are enough, okay? You don’t need Rhea or the Judgment Day to tell you that. C’mere, sweetheart.” She opened her arms. You looked at her for a second before letting yourself get enveloped in her arms. It felt nice to be comforted and not scolded for once. After a few seconds, you pulled away.
“I’m guessing you were talking to Nick about switching brands?” she asked to which you nodded, “What did he say?”
“He said he would love to have me here but that I need to find someone who would be willing to switch with me because of the draft.”
“Hmm, did you have someone in mind?”
“I was heading towards Shotzi’s locker room since she’s the only person I could think of.”
“I’ll go with you, I’m sure she’ll agree.” She smiled at you sweetly before taking a kind of your hand and leading you to Shotzi’s room. You knocked on her door and a few seconds later she opened the door. She smiled At Charlotte but that quickly faded when she saw you.
“What’s is she doing here?”
“Shotzi, please, just hear her out-”
“No! You know what her and the rest of the Judgment Day did to me so I don’t care about whatever you have to say.”
“I’m so sorry about what I did-” you tried to reason with her but she slammed the door in your face. This was your last chance and now it is over. You fell on your knees and a pained sob escaped your lips.
“My father was right. I should have stayed in his shadow-”
“Hey, hey don’t say that,” she knelt down next to you and wrapped her arms around you, “You are much more than just your father’s shadow. Look at what you accomplished. You became the NXT Women’s Champion.”
“I lost it to Lyra-”
“Only after you gave her a hell of a fight.” You leaned your head against her chest.
“Thank you, Charlotte.”
“You don’t have to thank me, alright? Come on. I have a plan.”
Tumblr media
It’s been over a month since you were kicked out of Judgment Day. Since Shotzi didn’t switch with you, Charlotte suggested you take a break from all the chaos. She made a deal with you. If you helped her, she would help you get your revenge. In the month you were out she trained you. You learned new moves and techniques and you were thankful for her. She was the only person to pick you up after Rhea let you down.
Tonight was Crown Jewel. Charlotte had challenged Rhea for her title to which she accepted. In her words she would ‘show who the new queen is’. This was all part of the plan.
You were now helping Charlotte get ready for her match. She was wearing purple gear. You helped her zip up her top before she turned to look at herself in the mirror.
“You look stunning.” You whispered.
“Thank you, princess. You look beautiful as well.” Your cheeks burned at the compliment. She turned towards you and cupped your face.
“You remember the plan right?” You nodded in response.
“Good. This is going to be our night.” She was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“You’re up in 5.” Someone called from outside the door.
“It’s showtime.” You helped her put on her robe before walking out towards gorilla.
The match had taken many turns. Both Charlotte and Rhea giving it their everything. At this point the superstars were exhausted but neither gave up. Charlotte had just thrown Rhea out of the ring and was now distracting the ref by acting injured.
This was it.
You put your hood on and ran out through the crowd. You jumped over the barricade and delivered a big boot to Rhea as she was getting up. The crowd went crazy. Carefully not to get noticed by the ref you dragged her body to the announce table. You cleared it before turning towards Rhea and grabbing a hold of her face.
“I am more than I would have ever been with you.” You picked up her body and riptide her through the table before throwing her back in the ring. Charlotte got up on the rope and did a moonsault and went for the cover.
“1…2…3!”
“Here’s your winner! And the new Women’s World Champion, Charlotte Flair!” You slid into the ring and jumped on her out of joy. She caught you while raising the belt in the air with her other arm. You got off of her and that’s when you finally took your hood off to reveal yourself to the arena. The crowd went wild with cheers. You looked at Charlotte with a big smile on your face before kissing her. She placed an arm around your waist and the other around your head to deepen the kiss.
“How dare you!” Rhea yelled from behind you. You turned and knelt down to her.
“How dare I? You brought this upon yourself. You treated me like garbage and threw me out the moment I was no use to you. Lucky for me, Charlotte was there to pick me right up.” You turned towards Charlotte once again and gave her one last kiss before the two of you walked backstage.
You and Charlotte stumbled into her locker room. She kept kissing you all the way inside until you both fell on the couch. You started giggling and soon she was as well.
“We did it, baby. And soon you’re going to take that title from Iyo.”
“You think I can do it?”
“I know you will.” She leaned in to peck your lips before kissing down your jaw to your neck. Soon she found your sweet spot and started licking and sucking.
“Hmm, Charlotte-” you moaned.
“That’s not my name, sweetheart,” she whispered.
“…mommy.”
“That’s right, good girl.” She continued going down your neck to your collarbone then to the top of your breast. Her hands reached to your back where the clip of your top was.
“Can I take this off, baby?” You nodded in response. She leaned in to kiss you while slowly taking off your top. She threw it somewhere in the room before she started groping your breast. You moaned against her lips as you arched your back.
“Please mommy-”
“What is it, baby? What do you want?”
“M-more.”
“More what? You gotta tell me what you want or I’ll stop,” you whined and tried to hide your face but she didn’t let you, “Come on princess, you can do it.”
“…fuck me, please, mommy.”
“That’s my girl.” She moved down your body and started taking off your shorts along with your underwear. She placed one of your legs over her shoulder and started to kiss her way down to your dripping core. Right when she got to your pussy she stopped once again. You looked down at her and finally she licked down your pussy. You tossed your head back in pleasure. Your moans and pants being the only sound in the room.
“Mommy-” you tried to grind your hips against her face but she pushed them back down. Soon her fingers joined the fun. Her mouth focused on your clit while two of her fingers thrusted into your dripping core. Your hand moved down to grip onto her hair while the other moved towards your mouth to try and keep your moans at bay. When Charlotte noticed, she took her free hand and held on to yours.
“Let those pretty sounds out for me, baby. Don’t hold back.”
“But- fuck…what if someone hears?” You stuttered out.
“Let them.”
“Hmph-” your grip on her hair got stronger as you felt yourself get to the edge, “M-mommy…Im close-”
“I know, baby, I know. Let go for me,” she cooed. Your legs began to shake around her head and your grip on her hand tightened. You went over the edge with a loud moan, arching your back in the process. You rode out your high and soon your body went limp. You closed your eyes, taking a moment to breath until you felt Charlotte pepper kisses all over your face making you giggle.
“Can you look at me, princess?” she asked while gently cupping your face. You blinked your eyes open and looked into her icy blue eyes.
“I am so proud of you, Y/n.” Those words brought tears into your eyes. No one had ever said that to you, not even your dad. You tried to look away but she didn’t let you, “Hey, don't hide from me. You're allowed to cry.”
“I just- no one’s ever been proud of me-”
“Well I am. And I will forever be so proud of you,” she leaned in as you kissed your lips. You put your arms around her neck to deepen the kiss. The kiss was sweet and slow, not like any kiss you’ve had before. Eventually you pulled away and she rested her forehead against yours.
“How about we shower and head home to celebrate.”
“I thought we were already celebrating?”
“Oh, sweetheart, I'm not even halfway done with you.”

You See Such Mad Things Happening
an The Unlucky Ones snippet
Tumblr media
The Curse rises out of him, ghostly bones tapping along his arm in question.
Bly doesn’t know how to answer. His chest feels funny still. Scientist Se has patiently explained to him - “you died” - what had happened before he woke up. But he must’ve done it wrong?
There’s transparisteel cubes around the capsules now.
“I want my batch,” he whispers into his arm, carefully muffled, daringly out loud. He shouldn’t. He must already be in trouble for dying wrong.
He can’t even hear the thuds of Wolffe punching against his own cube. His knuckles are bloody and used to write mean things.
Cody is trying to get Wolffe’s attention.
Wolffe will get in trouble, too. He surely will be disciplined if he doesn’t wipe away the mean words.
The Curse puts a hand against the glass, skull turning to look at Bly.
“I don’t know,” he replies softly. “Maybe it’s because you acted funny yesterday?”
The Curse had grown so large, had called its other halves to itself until they melted into each other. It had looked beautiful and it had felt— scary. But that’s dumb. They’re clones, there’s no need to feel scared if the fear response isn’t to release adrenaline in order to accomplish the mission in an efficient and timely manner.
The lights had clattered and exploded all around them, white halls plunged into darkness, the transparisteel glittering down to the floor. It had been so pretty.
Commander Fordo had snagged him up while Commander Alpha-Seventeen had carried Cody away in the other direction. Gree had been taken away by another Alpha class, too fast for Bly to see who it was.
Cody had looked as mesmerized as Bly had felt. Everyone else had panicked.
And now there are transparisteel cubes around their capsules.
“What if I have a bad dream again?” He can’t go to Cody. Or Wolffe. Or Fox. Or—
He rubs the sniffle into his sleeve. He can’t go to anyone.
The Curse curls around him and he imagines, with everything he’s got, that he can feel it, that it has flesh and skin and warmth.
He comes out of a light doze when a bony hand waves in front of his face, flowing to the bottom edge of the mattress and pointing.
“Stop it, silly,” he chides and looks around. No one is watching him. Fox is playing hand signals with his Curse. Cody ignores his like always. Wolffe— Wolffe isn’t there. Where—
His brother is guided back into their capsule room by an angry looking Alpha-Seventeen, cleaning droid under one arm.
The Curse taps the mattress again and Bly minutely shakes his head. Not while Alpha-Seventeen is here. Bly trusts him with his life but this isn’t about his life.
“Start of night cycle,” the voice in the ceiling announces and the capsules automatically close.
He hurriedly ducks his head and lies down.
The Curse is still outside his body, illuminating the inside enough to crawl to the end of the mattress and fumble a hand under it until he finds the slit in the cover, the pens and flimsi.
He makes himself comfortable on his stomach, knowing the Curse will hover around and through him.
The Curse snaps its jaw a few times, that weird metal rattle only felt, not heard.
“What do you want me to draw?”
The pen follows the glowing finger bones, tracing curves and circles. No straight lines, no hard edges.
Bly looks at the thing when they’re done, angles the flimsi to get a better idea. “What is it? Looks like something from survival sims.” He squints, holds the drawing closer to his face. “Is that a—“ He falters. Stupid survival sims. He knows this. His memory was literally engineered to be eidetic. “A… an angiosperms type plant?”
The Curse hovers next to him, mute.
“A flower, silly.”
It tilts its skull and one of its hands comes out of his chest where his heart is.
“Uh, thank you?” Bly has no idea what the Curse means.
It snaps its jaws at him before sinking into his skin again.
“Goodnight to you, too,” he grins, carefully tucking the drawing under his nightshirt.

More Shenanigans but they invited Wolffe
*Fives and Echo are fighting* Rex, taking aspirin: I have a headache! Can you guys just be cool?! *Fives and Echo start fighting while wearing sunglasses and riding skateboards*
Fives, T-posing in the doorway: Greetings, Rex. Rex, not looking up from his coffee: Good morning, problem child.
Obi-Wan: I’ve invited you here because I crave the deadliest game... Anakin, nodding: Knife Monopoly. Obi-Wan: I was actually going to play Russian roulette, but now I'm really interested in whatever knife Monopoly is.
Rex: Apologize to Cody! Wolffe: Fine! Wolffe: Unfuck you, or whatever!
Rex: *trying to get five seconds of sleep* Ahsoka, poking Rex’s arm: Rex. Rex. Rex. Rex! Rex: WHAT? Ahsoka: …We’re out of Capri Suns—
Rex: What happened?! Ahsoka: Do you want the long version or the short version? Rex: Sh-short?? Ahsoka: Shit's fucked. Rex: Okay, long. Ahsoka: Shit's very fucked.
Obi-Wan, to Cody: You wanna fight? All right, let’s take this outside. The stars are so bright tonight and the moon looks so nice. Here, hold my hand—
Obi-Wan: How many children do you have? Rex: Biologically, legally, or emotionally? Because there is a difference.
Wolffe: I learned a valuable lesson from this. Rex: I’m guessing they are all horrible distortions on the lesson you actually should’ve taken away… Wolffe: DEATH ISN’T REAL AND I AM BASICALLY GOD!
Cody: Hey, Rex! Did you know you're my BFFLWYLION? Rex: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Cody: Best Friend For Life Whether You Like It Or Not. Rex: Rex: That’s one way to say it, I guess…
