god some people really think "transmisogyny" is the latest tumblr discourse buzzword of the day rather than a word for the intersection between transphobia and misogyny that transfems so often face.
No transmisogyny-afflicted/transmisogyny-exempt is not a new gender binary, it is not "gender essentialism with extra steps"
it literally just means that there are people who are targets of transmisogyny and people who are not
it's not another word for trans man and trans woman,
it's not inherently saying transmasc people are evil
it is not "separating people based on genitals" (did you forget bottom surgery was a thing)
it is not "separating by agab" (notably basically every cis person is exempt from transmisogyny)
it does not exclude nonbinary people (though if you're nonbinary and don't feel it's sufficient to describe your experiences, that's fine, it's probably not meant to, some things are just meant for other people and that's fine, i wouldn't expect misogynoir to describe my experiences as a white trans woman)
god just read whipping girl, go read whipping girl
and if you think trans women wanting to talk about the specific ways they're oppressed (especially by other members of the queer community) means they're taking up too much space? either consider why you feel that way or idk, step into this car i have covered with hammers.

hilarious and gender affirming transmasc/transfem t4t couple moment: went to a smoke shop to look at weed accessories, cashier takes our IDs that have our deadnames and pre-transition photos on them, comes back and hands them to us correctly, but goes "oh my god, I'm so sorry, wrong ID's! I handed them back the wrong way!" my girlfriend instantly caught on but i had to stand there like ??? before leaning in and going "we're both transgender, you're fine." life is great, i love being trans, t4t love forever

i think the existence of those amazon binders specifically for cosplayers & butches is Bad, actually. they're usually unsafe and low-quality, from literally everything i've heard. if you're a cis woman & a cosplayer and/or butch and you want a binder, just buy from like underworks or spectrum or whatever. it's fine
you're not "taking resources", you're funding and therefore increasing demand for safely-made chest binders + also making it more normal and therefore easier for closeted transmascs to get them. just don't enter those free giveaway things specifically for trans ppl, and it's all good. there's no downsides

Being Masc & Goth
This blog usually isn't fashion-focused, but I was thinking about alt fashion and how it's sometimes a struggle to figure out how to style things in a masc way if you're interested in darkalt fashion, but you don't want to go too casual or basic with it. So I thought I'd throw together some tips, link some DIYs, and maybe throw in a few moodboards.
I want to preface this with one thing: You do NOT have to adhere to traditional gender roles. Fuck anyone who tells you that you do. If you're a guy and you want to get into alt fashion don't let anyone tell you that you can't pull off a skirt or a dress or a strappy top. Literally the whole point of being alt is Doing Whatever The Hell You Want Forever.
However, not everyone feels comfortable in that (I made this post because I'm transmasc and sometimes the long gothic dresses make me dysphoric), and not everyone is safe to do that ( as much as it sucks ass, if you live in a conservative area sometimes it can be genuinely dangerous for guys to wear makeup and dresses in public, and your safety should always come first), so I thought I'd lay out some tips on how to dress alt and masc from my own experience. I'm still learning so feel free to leave your own advice in the replies or reblogs!
General Styling Tips:
- Jackets. Jackets, jackets, jackets. Something about a big jacket always seems to give an outfit a more masc energy, and adding a cool jacket to an outfit can be a great way to elevate it and add some extra visual interest. I like black blazers, leather jackets, and black denim jackets in particular, but vests (formal menswear ones or more casual denim or leather ones) can work well too, especially in hot weather.
- Any basic black pair of jeans will look 100x more alt if you loosely attach some chains to the pockets or belt loops. Also, pants with wider legs tend to look more masc than tighter fits. not sure why. Slacks can also be a really good and underrated option.
- If you want to find good headwear, cool sunglasses have never failed me. You may be able to take some inspiration from Ouji fashion as well, but that's just my personal taste.
- If you have a basic piece around, you can add pins, patches, safety pins, etc for a more casual look, or if you're going for something more formal, trims and lace details and embroidery can really add interest and elegance to it. (if you can't sew, you can order iron-on embroidered patches online or find them in craft stores that'll do the trick just fine.) This can take your pair of slacks or plain black blazer and turn it into a piece of formal gothic menswear you can make a staple of your wardrobe.
- Find inspiration in your favorite goth artists. There's a lot of really cool goth music out there and a lot of those bands get really innovative with their looks! Figure out what you like about their style and try incorporating a few things in, it's fun!
- If you have an alt wardrobe already but it just seems like something's missing or it could use some interest, try switching up the silhouettes or adding an extra layer! Seriously, don't be scared of playing with textures and sleeve shapes! I see a lot of dudes who just wear a band tee and a pair of jeans all the time, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, that can be a great look! But I think a lot of dudes just genuinely think that that's their only option and that everything else just "wasn't made for them" and that makes me a little sad. shred up some shirts and layer them, wear some bell sleeves, throw some extra safety pins or studs on, have fun! No one said masc fashion couldn't be fun.

Dpxdc twin au in which Danny and Damian are fraternal twins
It's a classic "the Fentons misunderstood Danny's name and registered him as Daniel" but they accidentally transe Danny's gender and Danny never corrects them. Strangely, Danny likes it.
Eventually, the Fentons figure out, but Danny says he doesn't mind and they go with it.
(note: In this Danny is kinda nb/transmasc/gender weird, gender is neutral to him and he's fine with being called whatever, although male pronouns are the ones he uses the most)
Cut to Danny being dragged by Vlad to a gala (Vlad can be good but annoying in this idc) and Vlad is proudly displaying his "godson".
Duke: Hey, Damian, did you see the kid Vlad Masters brought?
Damian: I thought father said he wouldn't go into business with Masters.
Duke: He still attends for appearances. (Shrugs) Anyway, got any twins you didn't tell us about?
Damian: Yes.
Duke: 'Cause that guy looks just like—what?
Damian: I said I have a twin you don't know about.
Damian explains to the batclan that Danny was sent on a mission (as punishment) to keep track of the Fentons, since they studied "Lazarus Water". And then they forgot about it. The last time Damian heard of Danny was right before the accident.
On Danny's side, he knows Damian will be there before he goes — he's kept track of his twin's public persona (and vigilante life). He'd been doing a great job of not interacting and keeping from being spotted, as was protocol for if two agents ended up on the same field — he knew Damian wasn't an agent anymore, but assumed the protocol still applied. He knew, the moment Duke Thomas spoke to him and then went straight toward Damian, that he'd failed that protocol.
Now, Damian was trying to convince him to leave the League.
"Daniyah, there is another way."
"I know there is another way," Danny replied, "Except I told you about it for years and you never listened." During the years away from his family, Danny had missed them, his memory softened the feeling of anger at the way his twin always moulded his ideals to whoever ruled him. "We aren't supposed to be speaking, I'm still an agent, I'm breaking protocol by being here."
They'd sneaked off to a room along with Damian's siblings, who watched attently and and silently. "You don't have to be an agent anymore."
"Yes, I do." Danny spat, "You don't seem to have realized, but some of us don't have the privilege of being the favorite. I never had the privilege of being saved."
Damian scowled, "Being saved is not a privilege."
"It isn't," Danny agreed, "You're just forgetting that when you got freedom in reward, I got sent on a mission as punishment. You're still free and I'm still being punished, so I'm not sure you understand exactly what my position is." He moved to leave, "I'm not a damsel in distress, and I don't need your furry parade to save me."

can we drop the stupid ass "everyone is valid no matter what!" shit already? can we please fucking remember that the point of lgbt labels is as a descriptor for a thing that affects you materially in the real world and not a fucking fandom that mean people are trying to gatekeep you out of? if you're CAFAB and you tried being transmasc and then went back to just being a woman, you're not fucking transfem! you just tried being trasmasc and it didn't work out for you! that's fucking fine! you're just cis!
when we start using terms like that we dilute their definition and it both causes confusion and makes it harder to fight for our liberation
